2024.05.17 09:26 holden_afart_ OG Indian English rap duo. Unable to recall them. Help!
I remember listening to an Indian rap duo and I think they used to rap in English. It was from way back when Brodha V used to release his initial work such as Aathma Rahma and some of the stuff that is not even available in his channel.
I remember the video in which both the rappers are in isolated region and rapping. That’s all I can recall and I know it’s not helpful.
If anyone of you know, please share their link or name. I tried my best to find them but my memory is weak.
Also, I don’t think they have recorded much.

2024.05.17 08:14 Many-Permission-2169 Are Bollywood actresses are more known in the US than actresses from countries like Mexico and France? Recently, Alia's "Met Gala" video released on Vogue US youtube channel while the same videos for Eiza Gonsalez and Isabelle Huppert got published in local Vogue channels in Mexico and France.
Eiza Gonsalez and Isabelle Huppert have worked in some well renowned films/TV shows. Eiza, a Mexican actress. recently starred in 3-body problem while Huppert is an academy award nominated actress from France. I would have expected their "Met Gala" videos to feature in the US version of Vogue since the US audience is aware of their work. However, their videos released in local Vogue youtube channels in
Mexico and
France. On the contrary, Alia who has not yet done any significant work in the US, got her video featured in the US Vogue youtube channel when Vogue team could have released her video in the Vogue Indian channel.
What do you think is the major reason that major Bollywood actresses (like Alia and Deepika) are covered by Vogue US while Oscar nominated actresses like Isabelle Huppert are covered by local language channels ? Are Bollywood actresses are more known in the US than actresses from countries like Mexico and France ?

2024.05.17 06:28 BulkyHand4101 Is there a term for when communities will write in one language and speak a different language (e.g., speak Hindi, write English)
I'm familiar with diglossia where speakers use 2 distinct registers but consider them the same language (e.g. Arabic speakers speaking 2 registers of their language - dialect informally, but reading/writing MSA).
I'm interested in a separate scenario where a community will write and speak completely distinct languages.
One example is English/Hindi among affluent Indians. I know plenty of native Hindi speakers who will speak Hindi to each other, but do all personal written communication in English. So, for example, they will have a Whatsapp groupchat entirely in English, even though in person they only speak Hindi to each other. Or they will write shopping lists in English (for their Hindi-speaking spouse).
If you want to see an example,
here is a popular Indian youtuber whose videos are all in Hindi and yet all the writing is in English - video titles, thumbnails, channel messages, etc. And this isn't a Youtube algorithm thing -
almost all the comments are written in English too. I imagine this phenomenon exists in many parts of the world, so I'm curious if there's a name for this, and of other examples worldwide.

2024.05.17 06:11 Altruistic-Head9737 Is there no way we can get international payment?
I mentioned this in my last post too, I run a meme page on Instagram and have a pretty huge reach (70-80Mil), After that post again a video went viral, has almost 60Mil views on it. And as expected many people came to ask for promotion/advertising. And even if I want to I can't because I can't receive payment from them.
Yesterday an Indian guy came to ask for promotion, I said ok I'll do it and he was ready to pay 7$ if I pin his comment in the viral reel for 1 day. I was ready and said him to send the payment but then when I gave him my PayPal account he couldn't send the money (my dumbass didn't know we can't receive money in PayPal in Nepal). He asked me if I have Gpay but sadly it's not available.
So that ended there and I couldn't get my first clients work done😂. Aaja ni aako xa thuprai manxe haru promotion ko lagi aako, euta le tw logo promotion ko lagi ni sodhirathyo k garnu chaherw ni garnw mildainw🥲.
I guess only way to get payment is to receive it directly in bank but it's not even that big of a amount. So I thought it'd better to use e-wallets such as PayPal but I can't.
And is there an easy way to get Indo Nepal payments? Cuz most of the people asking for promotion are Indians
TL;DR : I can't get international payment because there's no way to get it except through banks?? But it's not that big of a amount to receive in bank so what should I do? Try to get it in bank or is there any other ways?

2024.05.17 00:42 Impossible-Milk-4305 Instrumental DJ dancing song with Indian female choir
Hello everyone,
I was looking for to find the name of one song which should be composed before 2010 ( may be 2009, or 2008). Here some details I remember about the song and its video.
1) It was composed by two western (probably from the US) men, one of them was a DJ. Both appear in the song video.
2) The video features a teen boy (younger than 15) and an Indian lady in a black dress, who were dancing around a classic car covered with Swarovski crystals. The car looks like Volkswagen Beetle. Near the end of the video, the car changes its color from silver to gold.
3)The song is instrumental but includes an female Indian choir in the background.

2024.05.16 21:18 Connect_Hunter How to broaden audience? Get out of being pigeonholed into specific audience group?
Hey guys, really glad for the group and all that l always learn here. I think l have a problem which l dont really know how to resolve/can it be resolved?
I started my channel ~year ago and do video podcasting/interviews on geopolitics/global macro/current affairs - I understand if its not people's focus/niche, dont worry about that, i really welcome anyone with insights to comment as its about the algorithm/technical shiz (you can check the channel via my bio if it helps explain).
Since a year ago l was growing slowly, reaching 1k subs in late summer 2023, and working on the 4k hours. Then in Oct l posted a video on India, and got 500k views - by comparison my highest at the point was 3-4k. My subs went from 1-5k in a couple weeks and the channel received lots of engagement.
Im not sharing this to show-off or complain either - l fully appreciate how lucky l have been in my journey so far, but am raising this in case this is a reoccurring problem for others, we can bring collective insights here.
The goal is more explain that since doing this event, l have begun to notice a trend. Many of my best performing videos are now all India-related and anything else l does really bad. Like we're talking 1000s-10,000s for any video that appeals to my existing audience vs a few 100 for anything else, even as l near 13k subs. Id hoped by a certain point views would begin to be consistent at say 1-2k views as others share happens, but its so starkly different l feel there is something wrong.
So while l want to cover Indian issues sometimes, its one part of much bigger picture. And lm now really worried that the channel is being unintentionally punished by the algorithm whenever l post a video that doesnt appeal to my existing audience. The quality, style, format etc is the same, just not the topic.
So whenever YouTube pushes a new video to my subs it fails and so YT stops promoting it, thinking its a bad video when it isnt.
Doesnt anyone have advice for this? How does one ensure their videos reach the right audiences? Or am l trying to be too broad by talking about events all over the world?
I've spent hours agonising over this, trying to troubleshoot why my videos arent performing, but cant figure out why. I feel this is a or the main factor and if anyone can help l'll happily do what l can to help your growth too.

2024.05.16 20:51 smash_hole Why is it So Hard to Find Fellow Indian Gamers Who Appreciate a Wide Range of Games?
I know the existance of this Sub reddit proves me wrong. But I've never got to meet the chad people like on this sub reddit irl. So hear me out.
I guess I can find Valorant and BGMI players, but where are the real gamers? The ones who know the past, present, and future of gaming? Everywhere I go, I see the same thing: "Wanna do a TDM, bro?", "What's better, SCAR-L or Groza?" I get the competitive spirit, but it's so hard to come by Indian people who are well-versed in gaming culture.
The other day, I was talking to my friends (who play video games) and one of them asked what my favorite game of all time was. I said Dark Souls 1. They didn't even know that game existed. They all said GTA: San Andreas and Vice City. I know those are great games, but seriously, come on. If you like open-world games, you would've explored more and found out that there are better ones, like RDR and The Witcher games.
When someone found me playing Ace Attorney and Pokémon Emerald on an emulator in college, they made fun of me for playing "lame old games." I thought when I got to college, I'd find a buddy who would try out League of Legends with me because I didn't want to solo queue, but they called it stupid when I showed them clips. The only guy I found was a Dota player, and he's too deep in that game to know other stuff exists.
I do have friends who know video games well, but they're not Indian. I tried to experiment as well. I showed my Australian friend, let's call him Cody, Undertale. He never knew about the game, but he tried it out and loved it. He loved it so much he made everything Undertale-themed. He loved the game so much he had the Undertale OST playlist on his Spotify rewind. Next, I played the game with my Indian friend, let's call him Raj. Raj said it was lame. He said it was girly and that the music was kinda 'meh.' MEH? Really, Raj?
Has anyone experienced this?
P.S. I'm not saying Valorant, BGMI, and other mainstream games are bad. I love Valorant. I don't like that I suck at it, but I still play it because i want to impress a girl i know lol.

2024.05.16 20:46 Party-Material8809 Can I use Utah online marriage to get my girlfriend here if I am on H1B?
I am an Indian citizen and work for a tech company on valid H1B visa status. I have a stamp that is valid for some more years. As you may know, India doesn't recognize same-sex marriages nor does it perform them. However, I was wondering if I flew over to India and got married via Utah online marriage, can my girlfriend get a H4 visa. We have necessary proof of relationship including text messages, Facetime Video call logs, money I send her, etc. As our parents are homophobic assholes, they do not approve of my relationship with her.

2024.05.16 20:39 HotTeaCofee What is Blockout 2024? List of celebrities people are blocking over Gaza stance - Is this Bullying? Is it responsibility of Celebs to speak on Political issues? What will their speaking out do for any cause?
Social media has become the fighting ground for tech protesters once again as users “blockout” celebrities they say have failed to act in the face of a humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
By blocking the accounts of celebrities and influencers – and therefore asking algorithms not to display any of their social media content – users have essentially boycotted a number of famous faces.
Campaigners say it is aimed at figures who have not used their public platform to speak up against the war in Gaza. Which celebrities are being blocked?
A whole host of well-known figures – including athletes, musicians, actors, YouTubers and influencers – have now been “blocked out”.
TikToker
u/Blockout2024 started sharing names of celebrities they blocked from their account. The list includes:
- Taylor Swift
- Cristiano Ronaldo
- Harry Styles
- Billie Eilish
- Zendaya
- Beyoncé
- Mohamed Salah
- Oprah
- Kim Kardashian
- Caitlyn Jenner
- Kendal Jenner
- Timothee Chalamet
- Bad Bunny
- Tiger Woods
- Malala Yousafzai
- Ariana Grande
- Lionel Messi
- Drake
From India
Alia Bhatt's name is on the list
What is the Blockout 2024 movement? The Met Gala is supposed to be the highlight of the showbiz calendar. While all the expected glitz and glam of the prestigious fashion event were present at this year’s Gala, what followed was an unforeseen backlash.
Social media users began drawing stark comparisons between the high glamour of the occasion and the military operation taking place at exactly the same time in the southern Gazan city of Rafah.
Users began creating video and image collages of the two events, condemning celebrity attendees for not using the opportunity to speak up for Palestinians. Throughout the following week, “blockout” participants have been posting imagery, like a Met invitee wearing a 180-carat diamond necklace alongside images of destruction within Rafah.
Why should anyone be Blockout for not speaking? Its their choice to speak or not . These Celebs are hypocrites, we have seen their contribution to "Vegetarian" life already
It won't affect Indian Celebs, but this sort of bullying is wrong

2024.05.16 18:31 Inadequata There's no inbetween
Warning: this is a very petty post, revolving but not fixated on the release of Ubisoft's new Assassin's Creed game. If you have a life, stop reading.
Ubisoft, a western video game studio, has launched its advertising campaign for its new game set in Japan. If you are familiar with the Assassin's Creed series, you are aware that Ubisoft shits one of these out every three to four years, much to
their awaiting fans glee.
Controversy however has been stirred up over not only the usual and predictable matter (the liberal fetishization of a character's skin colour) but by inevitably the same group of people who take this news about as well as Praljak took his cyanide.
This post is not about the rift betwen these two sides, which are if anything two halves to the same
mass-produced industrial sized circle, but the lack of an inbetween in the leftist commentary. More specifically, how people who see themselves as socialists will deliberately bat down the most orthodox of Marxist critiques because they see in this movement, to portray fictional characters with different racial stereotypes, as a value of the progressive nature of capitalism.
To anybody who has any knowledge, even second hand, of the various critiques that are made, the argument is simple: Yes, Capitalism produces an impetus for the revolution of its industrial base and subsequently, in the process, liquidates the existent order (all that is solid melts into air), but the reality is that this progress is about as socially revolutionary as genocide.
(The Indian continent was swept under the boot of the British colonial system, ending if not totally then the domination of the feudal structrue that had prevailed there).
If you want a contemporary comparison, it is about as socially progressive as the Israelis bulldozing hospitals within which they've mass-executed Palestinians to build allotments.
But over the course of arguing, this comparison is not so neat. 'Socialists' will even forgo recognising that the very system which produces this gabrage, these endless stream of commodities, is one which shackles the globe to wage slavery.
They will posit, even in spite of this, in spite of the fact that they know full well what they are essentially doing is eating shit, that these trends, over the change of the mere content of these commodities, are a good thing. They are fastened, even in their resistance, to the system. The overlap then becomes clear, what these individuals essentialy stand in support for is nothing akin to the demands that the socialists were making a hundred years ago.
They would have it that the clock simply be turned back to the model of the socially democratic welfarist state which prevailed 60 or 70 years ago, whilst retaining what is about is revolutionary as a brand change in the commercial logic of production.
Argue with them, and you will eventually draw the point out: either they have understood the Marxist critique, or they have not. This adoption of socialist principles by these individuals online has become one in which an individual chooses the brand of their identity. The system of Marxist thought has been burried to history, and what stands atop it is something akin to Disneyland.
As a final note, I ended up two days ago arguing with someone, a 'socialist', who began to defend the pride movement on the basis that it was, again, socially progressive.
Them: "But Castro himself endorsed the pride movement in Nicaraguan media!"
Me: "Ah yes, Castro, notoriously the enemy of the CIA, who have come out even more triumphantly to endorse the pride movement"
Them: "You just wish to post pictures of Raytheon pride floats to engage in homophobia!"
Me: "Perhaps there is nothing inherently progresive about being a sexual minority. It is about inherently revolutionary as being Jewish"
Them: "No, there is nothing inherently revolutionary about being Jewish, but granting the rights to be Jewish is progresive!"
Ignoring the fact that, 50 posts before, I had summarised a critique of this position (the pride movement simply stands for the legal ascension of rights under the bourgeois state and not for the material liberation) I had to quite litearlly quote to them On The Jewish Question (1843) to make known not only the origin of this argument but the fact that it had essentially taken place 200 years before!
On the Jewish Question is such a key text to Marxist literature because it is the beginning of which Marx outlines his formal critique of the Hegelian Philosophy Of Right.
I feel like I'm going mad. You're claiming to be a socialist and yet you're expounding the most pro-capitalist sentiment possible.
But sit back and watch, as so-called socialists run to the defence of their bourgeois masters anytime a commodity with pretty pink colours emerges.

2024.05.16 18:12 aboyofculture Is this video bogus? Have you ever witnessed Indian men giving up their seats for women (don't consider pregnant or disabled women)?
I travel via bus in Bangalore quite a lot. As a regular BMTC traveler, I often offer women my seat. I'm an Indian-origin American so I grew up in a culture where we are taught to be chivalrous at all times and especially towards women. Not because we think they are weaker but because we believe it's the gentlemanly thing to do. However, after coming back to India, I realized that chivaly isn't really taught in India and that on the contrary, women are treated quite poorly in this country. Little girls are treated fairly well but there is an unusual amount of disdain for young women and more specifically for beautiful fashionable young #indianwomen
I attached a
link to this post to show you a video I saw where an indian man offers his seat to a young Indian woman. I've NEVER witnessed this in India even after living here for a few years. I want to know if any ladies reading this might have experienced this. I have offered my seat to Indian women on numerous occasions BUT I wasn't taught to do this in India and my Indian parents never taught/practiced this either. IN FACT, in India, the conductors in buses yell at men for sitting in the women's only section because they prevent women from sitting in seats that are legally reserved for them! And sometimes the conductors don't notice so the poor non-confrontational women stand while rude men illegally sit in the seats reserved for women.
So is this video unrealistic? I want to know if real women in Indian experienced this in real life, or if the only place Indian men treat women like this is in the movies (or during their attempts to "rizz" them).

I'm an Indian-origin American so I grew up in a culture where we are taught to be chivalrous at all times and especially towards women. Not because we think they are weaker but because we believe it's the gentlemanly thing to do. However, after coming back to India, I realized that #chivaly isn't taught in India and that on the contrary, women are treated quite poorly here. Little girls are treated well but there is an unusual amount of disdain for young women and more specifically for beautiful fashionable young #indianwomen
I attached a
link to this post to show you a video I saw where an indian man offers his seat to a young Indian woman. I've NEVER witnessed this in India even after living here for years. I want to know if any of you ladies experienced this. I have offered my seat to Indian women on numerous occasions but I wasn't taught to do this in India and my Indian parents never taught/practiced this either. So is this video bogus? I want to know if real women in Indian experienced this in real life, or if the only place Indian men treat women right is in movies.

- Bruce Willis discussing the "Kansas City Shuffle":
- Deceptive move where the real action is elsewhere, suggesting the drop is misleading or a precursor to something bigger.
- Empty airport chairs and "Kansas City Shuffle":
- Setup for a surprise, indicating the drop is setting up for an unexpected move.
- "Made you look" from a hip hop video:
- Reinforces that the market’s current state is a distraction from the real opportunity.

He suggests staying alert and prepared for a possible turnaround or significant move in the opposite direction. Impact on Chart: - Chart Context (9:00 AM): Price starts declining around $35.51. - Market Implication: The initial sharp drop could be the "inciting incident" leading to a larger strategic move. - Dramatic tone indicating a high-pressure, high-stakes situation.
- Song Lyrics:

- Captions "Nobody like me":
- Reinforces the idea of being uniquely capable or prepared for the current market turmoil.
Interpretation: Roaring Kitty is drawing a parallel between the intense standoff in the movie and the current market situation. Impact on Chart: - Chart Context (9:15 AM): Price drops further to around $31.78. - Market Implication: This further decline represents intense pressure, but the confidence expressed suggests preparation for a rebound. Impact on Chart: - Chart Context (9:30 AM): The price stabilizes around $32.52 after significant drops. - Market Implication: This stabilization could be the "calm before the storm," suggesting that attentive investors might soon see a major move, aligning with Roaring Kitty's emphasis on vigilance and strategic observation. 2024.05.16 15:52 stocke85 Basant Maheshwari's prediction failed
I've been closely following him until he began his video. However, since he rebalanced his small case portfolio last week, many of his viewers have been in panic mode.
His alarming tone suggested that Modi would not return to power, coinciding with the market's decline on the same day.
However, after Amit Shah confidently commented on the election results, the market rebounded, reaching the same level on May 16th 2024 as it was ten days prior.
The market often serves as an indicator of the incoming government, and today's bounce-back suggests something significant.
While FIIs are selling, the market is picking up. Basant Maheshwari claims that those selling are not actual FIIs but Indian investors posing as FIIs.
I don't quite understand the logic behind this. Time will reveal who is correct. However, judging by the market's upward movement, it seems highly likely that Modi will remain the PM.
