My J1 visa got Rejected

2024.05.17 10:11 shades09 My J1 visa got Rejected

Hello šŸ‘‹ I applied for the J1 visa which is student visitor exchange program in hotel industry. My interview was in Delhi Embassy at 8:30 am. I got all of my process and I was waiting in the queue for the interview. When I was in the queue I was looking at all the counters. Counter 13/17 were the counters were most people got rejected more as per my observation. The lady who was allocating the people allocated me to counter 13 and I got little nervous. In front of me there were 2 people one of them was a mother and daughter which got rejected. And there was another cabin crew girl which got selected. My turn came. He asked for my passport and DS2019. He asked me many questions including my work profile , salary , purpose of going to USA, skillset , family income etc. The last 3-4 questions were very tricky at that point for me coz it was my 1st interview. He asked I see you are travelling to Reno nevada , why ? Why only Reno nevada ? Reno is not a representative of USA still what you would be learning over there ? You are travelling to casino hotel , what specific skills you will learn at a casino hotel that you can learn it here ?
This questions got me very nervous and unanswerable. Because I didnt even expected this questions to be asked frankly. Idk how to deal with this. If you all can help me. Please. Thankyou.

2024.05.17 09:29 One_Amphibian_8367 Montparnasse area as a solo traveler (F)

Hi all,
I am curious about the safety, especially at night, of the Montparnasse area. Any places I should watch out for, or is the area generally okay?
And on a brighter note, any recommendations? Or just hop on the metro to the city center?
Extra info, I lived at the east of the Paris area (near Serris) for 8 months and have been to Paris many times, however, I have never stayed in a hotel or went further southwards than the Pantheon. Plus, I always went to Paris with someone else. I know the northern side of Paris has some less pleasant areas but I have no clue about this side of Paris.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

2024.05.17 08:50 Specific_Call_5945 Would I be wrong if I offered my apartment to stay in for a you g coworker in exchange for dog-sitting?

Iā€™ll offer a little money too.
So I need to go out of town next weekend for a family funeral. 2 nights Friday and Saturday. I have a sweet little dog everyone loves and Iā€™d love to bring him with me but the hotel I can afford doesnā€™t allow dogs. I work retail and my coworkers and I do t make much but Iā€™m a little older and have my own really cute apartment with big screen tv, all the streaming, big comfy bed and clean tub/shower itā€™s a great spot. Most of my younger coworkers live at home with their parents. Iā€™m wondering if it would be unreasonable for me to offer my place for the couple days, as long as they agree to take the pup out a couple times a day and feed him dinner. I can leave some incidental but what would be reasonable? They arenā€™t dog sitters and wouldnā€™t need to take time off. I live near work so it wouldnā€™t be a longer commute. It would just be an opportunity to stay on their own for a couple nights, I honestly donā€™t even care if they have a couple friends over and they are welcome to raid the fridge.
Edited to add theyā€™re all over 21 but in the 21-26 range and are responsible. Iā€™d only offer to a few of them and see if any were interested. Just canā€™t afford a full-on professional pet sitter that I wouldnā€™t even know

2024.05.17 08:12 Logical-Cat3797 Need help finding exercises

Hi! I'm 25f, and have a LOT of problems. Some are exacerbated by extra weight, which I have changed my lifestyle when it comes to food, and am slowly losing, was 260lbs and now 190lbs. My main issue now, is that I need to get stronger. I need arm exercises that don't give me horrible pain. I can't do push-ups or even use free weights because of my wrists. This also takes out a lot of gym machines. I have a tissue and ligament disorder, that caused my hip to pop out of place at 18, and I have to constantly adjust my legs at my hips since one is now longer than the other at times. I got piraformis syndrome as a result that constantly aggitates me because of stupid tissues not doing tissue things. I can do maybe 15 squats before the pain is unbearable. I can't run, jump rope, or a ride a bike anymore. I can't do crunches or sit upstairs because my hips poke in the ground and cause major lower back pain. I have pretty bad asthma as well. I can't throw things because if I do it slightly wrong, it'll pull on my muscles and I'll be in pain for weeks. The issue is I HAVE TO GET STRONGER so my muscles can support me and keep me from getting hurt. But idk what to do, and the PT at my gym was a total waste of $300 because at the end she said good luck because there's nothing I can do. I really need my arms and back stronger for work, but my wrists and elbows bother me a lot. There's also not an indoor pool near me, besides in a hotel, or I would do that as I love to swim. Please help. Any feedback is greatly appreciated and sorry for the long read.
TLDR; I have wrist, hip, leg, elbow problems and asthma. I have a tissue and ligament disorder so running and jumping are also out. I need exercises to help me get stronger to prevent injuries, but it's hard finding ones that don't hurt or put me out for weeks.

Today was my evaluation day...
And sometime within the past half hour I was Gold. It's 11pm at the moment and I certainly did not expect anything to be added to my RFY this time of night, yet here we are. There are a total of 8 things over $100 as well, mostly furniture items. I did not order any of them. I'd have loved to get that kids fort thing, my 4 yr old grandson would love it. But I don't have room to store it for the once a year they are here. I go stay with them a couple times a year.. I also don't think it's worth anywhere near the price, so I don't even want to order it and hang on to it for 6 months, although the timing would work for my next planned trip. So anyway, what a surprising welcome to Gold tonight!

2024.05.17 07:10 ChosenPoutine Best place to travel solo in Europe? Ideally looking for a coastal town/place with hiking nearby

Hi all! I have a trip to plan for the early fall or late summer and I'm trying to decide on a location. I have a week to 2 weeks and want to be near some water (lake, ocean, what ever) and have hiking options nearby. I do not enjoy super busy places so I'd prefer something besides obvious picks like Barcelona.
It doesn't have to be super hot when I go, just warm or not too cold is ideal with some sun. I plan on picking a hotel that has a pool for when I want to do that.
I love checking out big towns or small cities, enjoy hiking, want something where I can go solo and be safe and OK. I'm considering something Nordic (as long as it's going to be OK weather-wise) but I'm open to other suggestions!
Thanks!!

2024.05.17 07:02 thenewAcadian Can they please fix the broken ass AI that shoot 6-7 round bursts with perfect accuracy?

I recently noticed Iā€™ve been getting instantly put in coma or outright smoked by NPCs and it wasnā€™t like this before the last update. I was at the fort and these dudes are blasting bursts from 200-300 meters away and hitting me with nearly every shot while they strafe from side to side. Meanwhile stealth is worthless Iā€™ve got a suppressor shooting from that far away and every NPC with pin point accuracy and grand master recoil control is blasting me from 4 directions. I died 2 times from getting hit by a the entirety of a 5 round burst from deep range. Why did they make them absurdly accurate now. You literally canā€™t even shoot long range because they strafe and still maintain perfect accuracy and if you go close theyā€™re all the more deadly.
