It looks like nowadays all the loungers are made of fabric and have quite mixed reviews. I'd prefer one with the hooks for support on the head rest vs the ones without

So for some reason. When I was a child. I accidentally cut my finger and looked at the blood and just pressed my finger into the window sill and just thought to myself "I am now bonded with this place"
Ever since then, I keep having dreams of looking through that big window and looking into my backyard. Except it is now some kind of portal. I can see things that you normally couldn't. Things on the spiritual or Astral plane. It's both terrifying and beyond amazing. But mostly scary ah lol. Sometimes when I focus I say out loud "I want to see other dimensions" and it's like a tuner. I can "scroll" and the view out of my window changes. From concrete buildings with futuristic fixtures to a desert with oasis communities with wierd looking biological/mechanical airplanes.
I see humanoids and cryptids that roam in front of me. It's so weird. Terrifyingly cool. I don't know why this happens but I've used this technique in other lucid dreams. I just focus and whatever door or place I'm at can be changed. Like once I was stuck in a tiny capsule home that I had locked. And I was looking through the sliding window. I focus and everything changes. Different landscapes and different times fly by. From deserted woods, to a frozen landscape and lastly a beach with an amazing view of the mountains and the sea. This weird dog like creature is outside. I stay inside outnof safety and I focus harder. Its now years later in the same place. But now there's people. My capsule home now had a porch and there were people sitting on beach chairs laughing in front of fire. They appeared to.drinking. Out in the water were people and what looked like dinosaur like creatures. Oddly coexisting. They all seemed weirdly content. One was even.being pulled by some Nessy looking dinosaur on a waveboard.
I step outside and am greeted by the people. "Ah! You're finally here! We were wondering when you were gonna join us finally!"
I look at him.confused and timidly reply "What do you mean? I just got here. What is this place?"
They all look amused
"Ah yes. We get visitors like you from time to time. This is a place that everyone ends up eventually. It's like a meeting spot for travelers like you. A place where we all.can co-exist peacefully. We're happy your here finally!!"
And he hands me.a drink and take it still shocked.
Apart of me still was so shocked. I could feel how real everything felt. But the peace didn't last long. As I was shot into the unknown again. Before my dream ends. I remember walking with an old man. He was dressed very posh. All black.and a really nice black hat. White beard and a very blank expression on his face.
I told him about all my journeys and the abilities it.grants me whenever I dream walk. This doesn't phase him even a little. Like he's been told this a million times.
I thank him for listening and tell him that I.was lost and needed help getting home. That I'm not in the right universe. That I'm in some place where magic exists.
He just looks at me and simply goes "You are home"
The moment he says this I am flooded with images of everything. How it was all.conmected. Einstein was right. Time and space wasnt linear. It was happening all simultaneously. Like the past present and future were simply places you could visit as if you were walking to your neighbors. Imsaw dragons, monsters, magic.and even places where our favorite TV shows were real. It was all there.
And he puts his hand on my shoulder and I wake up. Fulfilling my request to go home.

Let me share my 3000h of modded wisdom with you, my fellow vanilla comrades. My attempt here is to provide you with as many as possible improvements to the base game while keeping the style, balance, and content as vanilla as possible. As they say, when it works the best is when you don't realize it is there. I guarantee you that after playing for a while with these, you will no longer be able to tell what's from the base game and what's not.
You don't know how to mod? Maybe this very basic guide will help. Please, note that many mods come with options to tune up your experience. It is recommended you give them a look.

Dependencies:
- Harmony + Huglibs. Required by so many mods, you may as well be done with it and always have them.
- Vanilla Expanded Framework. While not as radically necessary as the previous ones, it's still a dependency fairly common. And this one actually does cool things on its own, like loading new modded factions without having to start a new game.
- XML Extensions. You won't be able to access the options of some mods without this.
- Dub performance analyzer. Enable the optimizations and override options, you can ignore everything else. If you want to disable alerts, use rocketman.
- Rocketman. By default, it should be good enough. This mod also allows to disable alerts you may don't care about, like, dunno, tattered apparel or unhappy nudity. It is recommended to run adaptive move occasionally (in stat cache settings).
- Performance Optimizer. More hacker magic. If you don't like the UI changes, you can disable them in the options. This mod does more performance stuff aside from that, so use it anyway!
- Performance Fish. You will have to install this mod manually, since it's not available in the workshop. You will also need to install its dependencies, Fishery and Prepatcher. Please, be aware that at the present there's an issue in which linking storages crashes the game. However, this can be prevented by disabling "TryFindBestBetterStoreCellFor" in the options.
- Optimization Meats. Unless you really want dozens of different meat types for some weird role-play reason, this mod will reduce the bloat on your kitchens.
- Better Animal Tab
- Better Info Card
- Conduit Deconstruct. A button to exclusively dismantle power conduits.
- Disable Automatically Select Travel Supplies
- Improved Need Indicator
- Map Preview. You can reroll as well!
- Prepare Landing. You can search world tiles matching your conditions. Goes great with Map Preview.
- Medical Tab. An easy way to overview your colony health.
- More Harvest Designators! e.g. harvest only fully growth plants.
- ModDiff. Great improvement of the mod mismatch screen.
- Pharmacist Temporary Update. Instead of always using the best medicine, now your pawns can use the appropriate medicine for the situation. No longer will they spent glitterworld meds on scratches!
- Smart Turret Covering. Fixes an issue with turret covers.
- PawnTargetFix. So that the autotarget prioritizes the closest enemy.
- Poisoned Food Stack Fix (Fix). Fixes an issue with meal stacks.
- Priority Treatment Ressurected. Doctors will finally prioritize keeping your pawns alive over taking a nap. Disable the option that prevents injured pawns from performing surgery, it has issues.
- QualityBuilder. You can set up a target level for furniture, and your pawns will reconstruct it until it's achieved. If I remember correctly, it's enabled by default for all new furniture? You can turn that off in options.
- RPG Style Inventory Revamped. Much better looking inventory.
- Replace Stuff. Allows to directly replace buildings, without having to deconstruct first.
- Research Tree. A better research tree.
- RimHUD. The best mod of the whole list, it will save you A TON of clicks.
- RimSaves. Overhaul of the save menu.
- Show Known Techprints on the trade screen.
- Show mechanoid weapons on the info screen.
- Smarter Construction. No more babysitting pawns when building walls.
- Stack gap. By default, pawns constantly refill storages. With this mod, you can configure it so that storages are refiled only when they're empty.
- Sun Lamp Honesty. Fixes an issue with sun lamps
- Just Put It Over There. Traders will deliver the merchandise, instead of dropping it on the ground.
- Trade Ships Drop Spot. Mark the spot in which orbital traders will deliver the merchandise, instead on whenever they feel like it. Doesn't work inside animal pens.
- Trading Options. Configure how frequent you want the traders to be.
- WVC. More work modes for the mechanitor.
- Save Settings. Allows you to save and load storage, production, and clothes settings. Works cross-save!
- No Max Bills. Removes the bill cap on workbenches.
- Better ground-penetrating scanner
- Colored deep resources
- Common Sense. Feel free to configure however you like it. I prefer it like this.
- Dubs Mint Menus. Improvements to a bunch of menus.
- Better Pawn Control. Improved management policies.
- Animals Logic. A lot of useful animal-related improvements. Disable the meat option if you're using Optimization Meats.
- Non uno Pinata. Pawns don't drop items when downed. Configurable.
- Bulk Smelting will save you precious time.
- Stonecutting Extended. The same as the previous mod, but for stones.
- Electric Stonecutting Table. To speed up the stonecutting even more.
- Faster Smoothing, a must for all mountain/underground out there.
- Do Your F****** Research. You can order pawns to research.
- Go the Fork to Sleep. You can order pawns to sleep.
- Meal Radius. Configure how far pawns will search for a table to eat.
- Home radius. Configure the size of the automatic home area.
- Smarter Visitors. Visitors will leave if things get dangerous.
- Custom Guilt Duration. Executions in vanilla are a pain because the guilty status goes away too fast. Now you can configure it.
- Dress Patients. Allows dressing of downed pawns.
- Way Better Romance
- Hunters Use Melee
- Injured Carry. Allows to rescue not downed pawns, no longer you have to wait for the bleeding to down them.
- Not My Fault. The player is no longer responsible for unrelated deaths on the map.
- Deep Storage + Simple Storage. Improves stockpile management.
- Pick Up And Haul. Improved hauling.
- While You're Up. Complement for the previous mod. Keep in mind that these two mods will trivialize part of the challenge by freeing a lot of time from your colonists. Just, dunno, turn up the difficulty a notch or something.
- Trading Spot. Marks where you want traders to stop on your map. It's a must if you use a desired path mod (I don't know if they have been updated to 1.5 yet).
- Vanilla Base Generation Expanded. Improved NPC base generation.
- Cut plants before building
- Psychic Harmonizer Lag Fix
- Fellow Ideology players, you're welcome.
- Dubs Bad Hygiene. Plumbing!
- Vanilla Temperature Expanded. Lot of useful temperature-related buildings, as well as proxy heat, a very cool mechanic. Some buildings are redundant with the previous mod, just don't research the ones that you don't want.
- Death Rattle + Biosculpter Patch + Life Support. Changes the behavior of mortal wounds so they're not instakills.
- Dynamic Flooding. Inundations!
- Some Things Float. I recommend disabling the chance of pawns loosing their footing.
- Layered Wall Destruction. Walls aren't just destroyed, they become debris. Note that there's an issue in which the debris will spawn home areas.
- Yayo's Combat. Combat overhaul. You can disable the ammunition system if it's not your thing.
- Character Editor. Allows you to edit and save/load pawns.
- RunAndGun. Allows to use guns while moving, with penalties to accuracy. Don't enable the dual wield or search and destroy modules, they won't work.
- EPOE Forked. Fills in the gaps of surgery content in the base game. I recommend disabling the additional workstations and enabling direct crafting only. Less micromanagement, more fun.
- Beautiful Jade
- Almostthere1.5. Caravans no longer go to sleep two hours away from their destination.
- Stepping Stones. A more reasonable research path.
- Dubs Break Mod makes it so that severe mental breaks require severe negative thoughts.
- Fists Aren't Made of Steel. Reduces the unarmed melee damage, making prison breaks and tantrums much less frustrating.
- No Burn Metal. Sets the flammability of metal buildings, and others, to zero.

Sitting with six friends at an open air restaurant and I was telling a story about being assaulted by a woman (a boomer) who probably had a personality disorder. This was ten years ago. It wasn’t really an awful story but in the end she was held accountable by a security guard as she was in a public place at the time. I still hope she got help. Then another friend chimes in with getting frustrated when an entire family took his two beach chairs as if they were public property. Just a general conversation.
So this lady was sitting in earshot and starts fuming at us “You deserved to be assaulted! You’re so entitled! And your friend too!”
We all look at each other. Boomer wasn’t even remotely invited to talk with us and starts going off on us.
This sub has taught me a lot. I say “No! No one invited your opinion do not speak to us”. She is still ranting about respect and we are all saying “Do not speak to us go away”. She tries to double down and sit closer to our conversation to gate-keep us.
I called management over. They make her move to another table. It’s unreal how they think they’re invited into every discussion on earth as though anyone cares what their opinion is or why it’s wrong to jump in to a discussion. It’s meta because I was talking about a boomer getting in trouble and she then gets in trouble defending a boomer she never met.

Like Richard in The Beach just being a douche-canoe and lying every chance he got and breaking up a good relationship, or Liz in The Hole being crazy enough to lock them in until she gets the relationship she wants, no matter what happens.
Extra bonus points for messed up moments like the post-shark attack scenes, or when Frankie dies, and they wrap her in her inflatable chair. Good endings not needed lol.

I had never been to Roanoke until recently, when I "ran" the Blue Ridge Marathon and was super-impressed by the support of the local community. I extended my stay and loved browsing at Roanoke Mountain Adventures, lunching at the Green Goat, and listening to outdoor music at the little outdoor amphitheater near Black Dog Salvage.
I was so impressed by the outdoorsy, active feel of the community that I've impulsively decided to put a bid on a house in South Roanoke. I'm slightly concerned that there isn't a college or university in town, as I've always enjoyed life-long learning, but I'm hoping that the active, outdoor lifestyle will trump that missing piece.
I've read the "Moving to Roanoke" thread, which was great, but just hoping to see if anyone else who decided to up and move to your beautiful mountain city remains happy with that decision? Is it truly an active, outdoor community, or was the influx of marathon runners skewing my perceptions of the city?

What is the typical crowd level at sandals? We will be going Memorial Day weekend and this is our first time at sandals in general. We are contemplating upgrading the room to the one with a private pool because we aren’t really crowd people and don’t want to fight for chairs and what not. Any advice? Should we be fine with the amount of pools and beach areas or would we be better off spending the extra money to have our own private space?

Day 1: arrived at cancun airport & got a taxi to puerto juarez. Definitely prebook a transfeshuttle from the airport to the port.. we did not and were probably way overcharged. Additionally we bought open ferry round trip tickets before and printed them out which saved us some time/hassle once there. Stayed at the casa barco hotel which i highly recommend. It was affordable, had a pool, and very close to the port. Went to al natural for dinner which was very good. The al pastor tacos are a must try. Went to el patio for drinks and chips/guac after. Their food is a miss imo but the margs, live music, and rooftop were great.
Day 2: Started the morning with breakfast at cafe mogagua. Amazing highly recommend and the selection is great. Walked to canabar beach club and was there for most of the day. Didnt try their food but the drinks were good. It was 450 pesos for two people with a minimum of one drink each. Went to tacos de humos for dinner. This is probably a skip for me.. the tacos i got were hard to eat and i think overpriced. Still good but my least favorite meal. Went to the beach for sunset and tarzan beach club. The large pina coladas were so expensive and not that great.
Day 3: Taxid to punta sur and walked around the ruins. I believe it was 100 pesos each for entrance. Walked to garrafon de castilla beach club. Entrance was affordable and no spending minimum. Brought our own snorkeling gear but it was too windy to do much. The beach was nice but very rocky. BEWARE OF THE IGUANAS. Walked to playa lancheros la casa del tikinxic for the fish special. It was soo windy which altered my experience but the fish was great. Went to the tiny gecko for drinks. This place was amazing! Right by the beach and the drinks were GREAT and affordable. La lomita for dinner and got rez enchilas and ceviche. Go for the ceviche.
Day 4: Went to Q’Bravo for breakfast. This place was amazing, go for the chilaquiles. Spent the majority of the day at guru beach club. 500 pesos spending minimum per person but the chairs/pool/shade range was amazing. Definitely very relaxing. Went to la cueva de la cherna for dinner (good) and got churros (churro cart) and then back to tiny gecko.
Overall thoughts: the exchange rate isnt bad at the place by the port so dont worry too much about it but definitely bring cash/pesos. Pedestrians do not have the right of way most everyone is on a moped/golf cart. And its not as cheap as i thought itd be. Coming from a midwest city it is a lot to get there/get home with 2 flights, taxi ride, and ferry.

I was 17 at the time. Prior to us going on the trip, I was having terrible thoughts and dreams about someone dying. We are Greek, and it is a superstition that if you see an owl during the day, it means death. I saw two owls the days leading up to the trip.
I tried to not think about it. I thought maybe I was subconsciously“looking” for signs of death because of the dreams I was having.
The week after the funeral, my grandfather visited me in my dream. Many, many years ago, he worked on boats and traveling the seas. In my dream, we were on a boat. It was storming hard and the waves were huge. I was crying, and my grandfather was sitting on a chair, enjoying a glass of his favorite whisky. I asked him why was he so calm, and he laughed and told me, “because everything is just fine” and I need to relax.
Recently, I have been going through a hard time with life. A lot has been happening.
My grandfather visited me again. He was driving us up a parking deck in his Tacoma and there were no cars around. He asked me what was going on, and I told him. I asked him how he was doing, he laughed and told me that he is happy and fine, but he isn’t here to talk about me.
He told me that not everything is negative, and I need to stop worrying so much.
We made it to the top of the parking deck, and there was a huge door with a bright light on the other side.
When i went to get out of the truck, there was randomly a wall that wouldn't allow me to open the door. i asked him why i couldn't get out, he chuckled and told me it wasn't my time. He got out of the car and told me to tell everyone he says hi, and that he is just fine. and then i woke up in tears.
I’m not religious. I believe that something is out there, but I am not sure what it is.
But I do believe that my grandfather, wherever he is, watches over me. I believe that he popped in to remind me that not everything has to be so bad.

Hi. I've been coming to the keys for about 5 years now, but I've always flown into and stayed on Key West. For my honeymoon, my fiancé and I are driving down from Miami. We are spending a night in Marathon on our way down to Key West. So the plan is a full day from Miami to Marathon, and then better than a half day from Marathon to Key West. (Turning in the rental car at the airport at 6 pm) Our plan is to wake up and head to Bahia Honda on the day we make our trip to Key West from Marathon, and spend the morning and afternoon there before we continue down the islands. Right now our only other stop on the way from Marathon to Key West is Big Pine for No Name pub and maybe a hike.
