Hi all, my regular customers booked dates in July with me in January, we got our own puppy in May and they were super excited for us!
Our dog gets along with everyone well & has been fine with all the dogs we’ve been boarding so far.
The regulars dog barks & growls at others all day long but has never shown any sign of aggression and has even been boarded with other dogs before & was just grumpy but never hurt them. She usually tends to just go to her own corner and doesn’t want to interact with them.
So now we’ve already had a meet & greet during the day for 2 hours and their dog kept growling/ avoiding ours as expected. They now suggested us to take their dog for 2 nights to test how the girls would get along before July.
Should I be charging for that ? I mean we got a dog so it’s on us now that there has to be a test nights. We didn’t have one when they originally booked the dates. I’m thinking to just do it for free as it’s “on us” to have gotten a dog if that makes sense.

Has anyone successfully run Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion on Apple Silicon in the past few years? How about Sins 2?
TL;DR:
Every couple years I get a Sins craving and I play it for 3-4 months and then I'm good for another couple years. I'm WAY overdue for a Sins binge and even though I have a brand new M3, for the first time I don't have any way to play Sins.
On my older machines I played it through bootcamp or VMWare Fusion which worked great.
Tried installing Fusion but it looks discontinued and when I go to download the new free edition from VMWare I'm dumped to a login screen at broadcom dot com which is not explained and sus as fuck.
Tried playing it through Whisky, but Sins is an old game so it's unsurprising it freezes and crashes there.
Tried playing it through Crossover but every couple minutes it freezes for a good 20-25 seconds. Unplayable.
I tried with another GPTK front end but it wants you to buy the game on GOG. I'd happily buy Sins for a third time if I had some guarantee it'd work.
I despise the entire business philosophy and experience around GeForce Now.

Spoiler warning: The following contains spoilers for Baldurs Gate 3 Act 3.
Once every year, I host a special D&D day for my players. We play D&D for a very long while and also always include a special event. Last time for example, we did a very fun PvP session (disconnected from what's actually going on in the campagin).
My players enjoyed a lot of Baldurs Gate 3 recently and especially the Iron Throne stuck with them. They were amazed by the idea and therefore requested something like that as our special event play. In general, I do like the idea.
Of course I will not make it exactly the same, but from what I have got, they would like to have it somewhat of a jailbreak with a limited turn timer before the whole thing collapses. They would have the opportunity to free a handful of different prisoners including one VIP. However, I see a problem with the concept. Compared to BG3, I think the turn timer concept could get relatively boring in D&D. I already thought of some surprises and dynamic changes (maybe hide a traitor among the prisoners or include a mechanic which buys the whole group three more turns if they find it), but I'd be glad about some smart input from you guys!

Before you say ridiculous, here's some Australia specific Rugby problems:
In Short, A 10-12 team domestic competition modelled on English & french domestic comps. 2 Pacific Island Teams, Brumbies, 3 NSW teams, 3 QLD teams, Western Force and Melbourne Rebels. There would be growing pains, the initial quality would not be the same as Super Rugby and it would take time to build fan bases, BUT:
You address all 3 of these points. The new teams would be able to capitalise on localised fanbase rather than a fairly nebulous state team, teams could play at mid sized local stadiums and create an atmosphere like the Tahs experienced at Leichhardt oval in 2021(I have never seen such a raucous turnout for Rugby Union as those games in Balmain). You would have twice as many professional contracts available to incentivise young talent to give pro Rugby a crack. The new clubs would have much more self determination and freedom to operate as a business. tick, tick, tick.
Problems:
Initial broadcast revenue would not be equivalent to the Super Rugby revenue. Contracts will not be as lucrative as the current ones available. Inevitably plenty of star talent will be lost to overseas franchises in the startup phase. Andrew Forrest(owner of the Western Force) was ready to create 'Global Rapid Rugby' and bankroll a breakaway comp back in 2018-19, only concluded by the Force being allowed back in to SR during covid in 2020.
I don't think NZ would be keen on this model in their domestic comp bc with a population of 5 Million it's a real push to support more professional teams than they already do. Their depth of talent is obviously insane but can that many fans support a professional league? Maybe with the obsessive rugby culture they have it could.
The BONUS
Ever heard of the European Champions Cup? Welcome to the Pacific Champions Cup. This is where the broadcast cash gets interesting: the top 2 teams from the Australian, New Zealand and Japanese Domestic Rugby competitions duke it out exactly the way that the European rugby sides do. This idea really gets my tail up and adds an international club element that the other codes in Australia really lack.
As imposing as creating a new comp from scratch is, Super Rugby is dying a slow, public death. I'm interested to hear everyone else's solutions to the demise of Super Rugby pacific.

- Massive competition between sports codes - Rugby in Australia is absolutely eclipsed by the NRL and AFL, My gut feeling says that Aussies prefer to watch a sport they don't get annihilated in week on week, and they actually like to see their teams win but there is another reason: there is actually a tribal culture around NRL and AFL teams. People LOVE the rivalry and camaraderie of footy club culture in Australia and Super Rugby teams playing in empty cavernous stadiums just don't have that. Conversely, half of the Shute shield teams now have more enaged fans than the Tahs, Force or Rebels. I've never seen someone with a NSW Waratahs tattoo, I have at least 3 mates in Sydney with a Rabbitohs tattoo on their ass. It's a different level of passion.
- No Development Pathways - whether you blame it on rugby league or the Randwick Rugby Club nepo babies, there are only 150 Professional Rugby contracts available in Australia. Most of those contracts are taken up by established professionals, and since 3rd tier Rugby Like Shute Shield pays in popcorn and free skydiving tickets young talented rugby players graduating out of school get no benefit out of the Rugby development system. Compare that to the 500+ NRL contracts, plus the development NRL contracts that have a minimum wage of 80K a year, no wonder the talent leaks away from rugby.
- Representative based system, rather than clubs - Australian Super Rugby teams aren't really clubs, They're rep footy sides run by the governing body(excepting whatever is happening at Western Force). From a sports administration point of view this really muddies the waters of how the organisation can operate, appoint board members, CEO's etc(Australian laws around sports clubs also allow for clubs to run their own venue like a pub for members, generating consistent revenue streams, which the SR teams do not qualify for).

She lunged towards me and scratched my chest with her long nails. What is going on? Now I am just trying to find food, and other things. I want to bunker down and wait this out. Had to do what i had to do.... 10/11 8:50am: Ate breakfast, watched the news, read a cookbook. what is going on? 12:30pm: Went to see if gregs doing okay. he wasnt. ill miss him. 1:00pm-9:00pm: Made some chicken and rice for lunch and dinner. I got so much food now, i should be good for a while. I think the next step is to barricade my windows and bunker down for the upcoming winter. 11:30am: So i just finished chopping and sawing these trees. Managed to barricade each window from the inside. Im going out to explore again... hopefully find survivors.. 11:20pm: found another grocery store, took a huge fridge and as much fresh produce as i can. im going to try freeze as much perishable food as i can, also the gigamart burnt down and i fell asleep in the car. 14/11 6:50am: just woke up, realised how bad my clothes are, theres holes everywhere. i think im going to switch into the military gear i found. 11:10am: switched clothes, and just finished my book on farming while eating some breakfast. heading back out... 5-7pm: met this guy named markus, he wanted help clearing out an apartment block to look for more people there were so many of those things, i cant walk properly theres a huge cut in my leg. i am hidden inside someones room, i hope markus is okay. also theres alot more people inside the city centre. 8:30pm: i escaped thru the back, and came back in to see the building on fire. i found markus, but now a theres a horde of those things coming in. 15/11 1:20pm: i feel ill, and so does markus. i slept in real bad today... we stayed in some random house and we were both exhausted, now we are heading across the road to the tool shop, then head home and relax 1:40pm: theres alot of gunshots in the inner city 6:00pm: me and markus are back at my home. im going to go move the supplies inside. markus isnt feeling too well at the moment. 9:20pm: just built some wooden crates in the garage and moved all the supplies, time to have dinner and sleep this sickness off. hope markus is okay. 16/11 6:50am: its officially been one week. markus is acting weird, he keeps on wandering around outside. i found him outside 10 minutes ago even though its freezing and a blizzard just rolled in. time to settle in 9:40am: made some soup, gonna do some stuff around the house 9:50pm: found a new table and replaced the old one, so i could put my computer on it. also patched up my outfit since it had alot of holes. markus isnt doing great. i feel fine now though- so i hope he gets better, hes the only person i got right now. also installed new metal shelves i found into the garage. things are starting to come together. next step is to make a farm. 17/11: 5:45am: Markus tried to attack me this morning. his face was pale, and flaky. he stunk. i think he became one of them. - I skipped CCP / CLF - is that okay A. Yes - its okay to have skipped the foundational level - almost all the courses above teach you from scratch.
- Can someone who is new to IT do this exam A. Yes - Many people start from scratch and get to the Associate level.
- Is it worth it? A. Plenty of threads on this subreddit covering this. You have to make up your own mind if its worth it to you or not.
- I dont code or want to - is this course for me? A. While there is no coding involved in the course - knowing how to use the AWS CLI / being able to do some basic scripting would be very helpful anyway. You can also use free tools like CoPilot / Code Whisperer to help you with pieces you struggle with.
- Can I use ChatGPT / Amazon Q etc to learn A. Many of these Generative AI tools can still give you incorrect answers. So do not rely on them but if it helps you to quickly get the concept - go ahead and double check the results against official docs.
- Are there books to learn from A. Books get out of date too quickly and I do not recommend learning from them. However there is an official Sybex Guide to the exam and tutorialsdojo / Neal Davis (Digital Cloud) also have an ebook. You can google for links to these.

So I'm autistic which means I practice conversations I am going to have with people, conversations I had, and conversations I might have all the time. It means when the moment arises, I'm prepared. This is all pretty standard 'tism.
What I had never considered practicing during those hypothetical conversations was walking away.
I've always been pretty conflict avoidance, being afraid of being trapped in a situation with an angry person is enough to avoid the issue. Which creates its own problems. But I realized that the feeling trapped part comes from having only ever practiced continuing to talk to the person who is treating me poorly- trying to deescalate them; trying to get them to see my side of the story; being filled with righteous anger and having the best comebacks.
For years people would tell me things like "so and so doesn't deserve your energy" and I'd agree but have no idea how to actually stop engaging with them. Then one day it struck me to practice excusing myself from the conversation in all of my hypothetical conversations I practice. I am now significantly less afraid of conflict because I actually believe I am free to leave at any time. I don't believe I am trapped in the situation.
For those of us who need thing to be concrete, here's an example: "Can we talk about you yelling at me in front of a client? I didn't appreciate it and I need to know it will be different in the future" "I didn't yell, YOU were the one who caused the problems because YOU messed up the situation.... Blah blah blah keeps going until my mind is pudding...
"I came here to talk about the way I was treated. I am looking for validation, an apology, and a confirmation of how behavior will be different in the future. Based on your response, I don't feel like you are able to give me any of these things right now, so I am going to remove myself from this conversation. I am open to continuing this conversation at a time when you do feel you can give me these things"
And then I just get up and walk away. Like poof! Magic! I got my information about not only how someone is going be to treat me but also how they will meet my needs with defensiveness, I am going to deprioritze this relationship because they can't treat me right AND I am no longer afraid to ask for what I need because if the person responds to my needs with anything besides accountability for their own actions, I get to excuse myself and go about my life with people who do take accountability for themselves.
I don't see myself getting stuck in so many toxic situations anymore because I know how to walk away. It's so simple, but makes such a big difference

As per the title, hoping someone can assist. I used to connect via HDMI and could get both 4K@120Hz and 2K@240Hx however I couldn't G-Sync Compatible / FreeSync option in NVCP so switched to Display Port.
That allowed FreeSync to kick in but now I don't get the 4K@120Hz option any more in NVCP, only 60Hz is showing at that resolution.
I've tried three different cables, all the same including one cable explicitly labelled as supporting that combination.
I then purchased a new cable advertised as DP 2.1 and capable of resolution / refresh rates exceeding what I'm aiming for but still it only shows 60Hz as the maximum refresh rate for 4K rather than the previously available (via HDMI) 120Hz.
I would stick to HDMI but want to take advantage of FreeSync which only works using DP; any of you good people had a similar problem or know a possible solution? Or tell me if I'm missing something here?

I have a Voron printer that is new this year and has over two months of incident-free printing. It was working perfectly fine yesterday and I was able to print without issues,.
However, this morning it simply stopped working for no apparent reason. Whenever I try to start the printeKlipper up I just get a loading screen and can't communicate with printer.
I have honestly no idea where to start with this issue. I have replaced the SD card and the interface seems to be working properly so is something like this caused by any common issues? Any ideas of where to start troubleshooting? I have an idea that the BTT Pie may have stopped working but I'm not sure.

Hi, I’m (18) not 100% sure on what degree I should get and right now Electronic/Electrical engineering looks intriguing.
However, my skills for engineering rn? Not good. Never cared much for science (don’t hate it though) but I started to like math and am currently self-studying college algebra on the track to trig, pre-calc then calculus.
One path I’ve thought of doing is going into my college’s “upgrading program” (learning grade 12 equivalents of whatever you want for free) for 1 or 2 years to learn more math (and maybe some other subjects with it) and get in the calculus levels, then take a reduced course-load of 3 or 4 out of the 6 required engineering courses each semester and completing my bachelor in 6-8 years which I’m totally ok with being in school for that long (I’m living rent free btw so cost isn’t a concern) Any input helps, thank you.

First time posting, long time reader. Wasn’t sure how to go about this but here goes..
My wife (33F) is finishing up her 3rd year in DO school. We’ve been together 12 years, married going on 6. We don’t have kids. I (39M) have been along for the journey since undergrad. What a rollercoaster.. Getting into med school was huge. It was a school out of state. We’re from the west coast, school is in southwest; close enough to family to visit, far enough to miss them. I work full time and fortunately was able to transfer. We have a home in CA and again, fortunately, I make a decent amount where we were able to buy a home close enough to her school and an hour away from my work. Currently, we rent out the west coast property. Having properties has always been a goal of mine, so buying a second home wasn’t something I would be upset about, especially in a growing city.
Since I work, I carry most, if not all, of the financial side of things. I say most because I don’t want to discredit when she buys things at the market and I don’t hand her money to pay for it. For me, my money is our money. Her loan is my loan. We do it together. I’m on board.
The demands of med school are intense, as we all know. I’m on board with all the sacrifices we make as spouses. I cook, I clean, I pack her lunches, wake her up if/when she’s running late, prepare her coffee and send her off with “I got you, babe.” That’s who I am. I do all those things not for an IOU payment. I do it because I love my wife and I know I want to support my partner. I feel like she has possibly gotten so used to it that she forgets to support the one who supports her most. Her family situation is another post for another subreddit that gets very.. difficult. Therapy has been an avenue we’ve taken as a couple and as individuals. It’s helped.
Here is where I feel like I’m finding the edge..
Moving away from home has its challenges. I would surf every week - Can’t surf in the desert. I’m close with my family - Can only see them every so often now. In our marriage, affection has gone from healthy to occasionally. Sex life, same. Understanding the mental demand, stresses and planning for residency applications, wanting to plan for a baby, her family stress, all of those are factors. I’ve been patient and understanding. I do my best.
I enjoy camping. It keeps me sane. During that “limbo” I plan trips for myself or with other family members, which means I drive to another state and have a decent trip for 4-5 days. THIS is my hobby. THIS makes me happy. This happens twice to three times a year. I love my truck. I invest in my truck. I purchased and worked on everything that has been done to my truck. I’m proud of it. THIS makes me happy.

My wife (33F) is finishing up her 3rd year in DO school. We’ve been together 12 years, married going on 6. We don’t have kids. I (39M) have been along for the journey since undergrad. What a rollercoaster.. Getting into med school was huge. It was a school out of state. We’re from the west coast, school is in southwest; close enough to family to visit, far enough to miss them. I work full time and fortunately was able to transfer. We have a home in CA and again, fortunately, I make a decent amount where we were able to buy a home close enough to her school and an hour away from my work. Currently, we rent out the west coast property. Having properties has always been a goal of mine, so buying a second home wasn’t something I would be upset about, especially in a growing city.
Since I work, I carry most, if not all, of the financial side of things. I say most because I don’t want to discredit when she buys things at the market and I don’t hand her money to pay for it. For me, my money is our money. Her loan is my loan. We do it together. I’m on board.
The demands of med school are intense, as we all know. I’m on board with all the sacrifices we make as spouses. I cook, I clean, I pack her lunches, wake her up if/when she’s running late, prepare her coffee and send her off with “I got you, babe.” That’s who I am. I do all those things not for an IOU payment. I do it because I love my wife and I know I want to support my partner. I feel like she has possibly gotten so used to it that she forgets to support the one who supports her most. Her family situation is another post for another subreddit that gets very.. difficult. Therapy has been an avenue we’ve taken as a couple and as individuals. It’s helped.
Here is where I feel like I’m finding the edge..
Moving away from home has its challenges. I would surf every week - Can’t surf in the desert. I’m close with my family - Can only see them every so often now. In our marriage, affection has gone from healthy to occasionally. Sex life, same. Understanding the mental demand, stresses and planning for residency applications, wanting to plan for a baby, her family stress, all of those are factors. I’ve been patient and understanding. I do my best.
I enjoy camping. It keeps me sane. During that “limbo” I plan trips for myself or with other family members, which means I drive to another state and have a decent trip for 4-5 days. THIS is my hobby. THIS makes me happy. This happens twice to three times a year. I love my truck. I invest in my truck. I purchased and worked on everything that has been done to my truck. I’m proud of it. THIS makes me happy.

Hi! English isn't my first language so sorry for any mistakes.
So I rescued two cats from the street, most likely sisters, back in August last year. They were like, 2 months old maybe? At least that's what the vet said. One of them, Chiara (on the photos) was sick with this eyes and nose thingy, don't remember what it's called in english. After couple visits everything was good.
I fed them dry kitten kibble, because well I am not rich by any means and sometimes I literally starve for couple of days to buy them better quality food. But the reality is - shelters are packed and they straight up refuse to take cats in my area, so I figured it's better to take them rather than letting them die out there. And it's good (I hope?) quality kibble - Wiejska Zagroda and later Carnilove. So not the best of the best, I know, but they're really not bad either. In February I even started mixed feeding (half wet, half dry) in fear of kidney problems later in life. Quality varies, but it's always something sugar-free and grain-free.
Chiara is active, even more than I would like lol - jumping on everything in the house, literally everything high enough to be worth it. She sprints like cats version of Lightning McQueen and playfully wrestle other cats like her life depends on it. On walks even any flying bugs aren't safe as she'll just jump like a frickin kangaroo to get them.
Anyway the second cat grew bigger over these months, she is 3,150 kg. While Chiara is only 2,250 kg December 17 - 2,150 kg January 13 - 2150 kg March 26 - 2,200 kg April 28 - 2,300 kg And today - 2,250 kg
My vet while being okayish, just dissmises me and doesn't check anything. Just tells me "We will see, come when something is wrong". As if it's not better to prevent something rather than wait for it to be completely broken and it's driving me crazyyy. But he is the only vet in my area and right now I don't really have the money to travel to someone else. Well, I don't even have a car so there's that.
Is it okay for her to be so small and I'm just paranoid or should I find a way to go to someone else? I have never had a cat so small as her but she behaves like any other cat and eat as much as her sister.
