A number of fans of the Homeworld (HW) Universe have put a lot of thought and effort into their posts and that’s a testament to the passion that HW has brought to a lot of people.
I want to start by stating it pains me to say HW 3, especially the campaign has been a disappointment. Did we know what we were getting? Yes we had clues. Did we know the potential that HW 3 could have been based on the previous games? Oh there was immense potential!
The Homeworld series has been my favourite games (including mods) since the release of HW 1 in 1999 and I was a FIG backer for HW 3. None of the games have been perfect, but the storytelling left a long term impression and naturally the desire to want more from the series and continue to story. This has led to a loyal fan base including myself. I remember reading the HW1 manual and details about the Kushan Kiithid and the ships details numerous times.
Some of the epic storytelling events in the series that have made Homeworld what it is:
· The Kushan Kithid feuding for generations on a desert planet, Kharak, to then discover an ancient starship (Khar-Toba) buried in the desert sands. The genetic study also revealing they were not native to the planet.
· Discovering the Guide Stone in the Khar-Toba with a map pointing out Hiigara “Home”
· Discovering a Hyperspace Core and the Kiithid coming together to build the Mothership with Karan S’Jet integrated as Fleet Command
· Kharak burning – What treaty did the Kharak people break and what was their past? The war with the Taiidan Empire begins to reclaim their home.
· The Garden of Kadesh and realising they were part of the same race.
· The Bentusi and discovering why the people of Hiigara were exiled to the far reaches of the galaxy.
· Defeating the Taiidan Emperor, Riesstiu IV, and taking back Hiigara
· Learning more about the Kiithid in Cataclysm, the Beast, and the Bentusi’s fear – “We shall not be bound”
· Bentus sacrificing itself so the Hiigarans and Karan S’Jet could re-unite the 3 Hyperspace Cores
· Progenitor Relics, ships and guardians
· Balcora Gate and the battle to recovering the third Hyperspace core from Makaan (who believed he was the Sajuuk-Khar) and the Vagyr
· Transferring from the mothership to the long-lost Progenitor starship Sajuuk. Seeing the mothership drift away. It was a memorable moment .
· Saving Hiigara from the Scorched Earth scenario. The fleet fought hard to save Hiigara and their people.
· The Eye of Aaran which Sajuuk and the 3 hyperspace cores unlocking the vast hyperspace gate network. Hiigara opened up a trade/exploration/colonisation network across the galaxy and beyond. Not just for them, but for all civilisations.
Finally the day comes when the HW3 Collector’s Edition arrives after waiting years as a FIG Backer. It was amazing. The artwork was beautiful. The models were great and go well with the HW2 collector’s edition. After so many years, HW3 was finally here!
I finished the HW3 campaign a couple of nights ago. First there was anger, frustration, followed by mourning the loss of such a great opportunity that could have been for the Homeworld Universe. After playing 4 previous HW games for years, it feels like the team that wrote the HW3 script really did not understand the franchise, storyline to date, and its ‘spirit’.
After watching the promotional videos from the team from Blackbird Interactive saying HW3 was for the fans that have been with them along the 25 year journey (Relic Entertainment back then) the disappointment was very real. Sure it’s a visually beautiful game and some of the game features are an improvement which they couldn’t do in HW 1 and 2, but this did not feel like a continuation for the long term fans. This felt like a simpler HW labelled game for a new fan base. Such a missed opportunity! There has been the release of Homeworld Mobile and the VR version so Gearbox are looking to maximise the revenue while they can, and I can’t blame them for that.
My HW3 opinion:
· Aesthetically, HW3 is stunning
· I really like the look of the Khar-Kushan Mothership
· Deserts of Kharak showed the struggle and Kiithid conflict aswell as how difficult life was on a Desert Planet. HW1 was about the Kushan coming together to fight for their true home after Kharak was burned. Cataclysm did a good job expanding the different Kushan (now Hiigaran) Kiithid. HW2 felt like an “unbound” storyline with the three Hyperspace Cores – Karan got her time in the limelight – the three cores and Sajuuk combined was the key to the hyperspace network and “The Age of S’Jet”. HW3 continued with a focus on being ‘unbound’ lacking the substance behind who the Hiigarans are and their history, even before their exile…a missed opportunity.
· Popular fan request – Let us finish collecting resources! Imogen and the fleet were being hunted so I understand the urgency behind the gameplay…….but still, the player should have the option to jump when they want to.
· Besides one interceptor getting stuck on an object on mission 13, I had a pretty smooth gaming experience. The intelligence of the fleet and formations was a bit dodgy which required a lot of micro management.
· Cinematics between missions. The quality varied. Feels like more time and money was spent on the development of each one instead of a decent storyline. Why did it need to be done when you compare to the predecessor games? Likely because this game was more character focussed instead of a Fleet Focus.
· Khar-Kushan colliding with the giant freighter. That would have caused catastrophic damage and serious structural integrity issues. It seemed a bit too much! An evasive manoeuvre which led to the Synth Hyperspace Core housing being damaged as it clipped the freighter would have been enough to temporarily take out, power, propulsion and two out of the three cores.
· Ship designs were bland and generic lacking the HW2 creativity. Hiigarans have discovered quite a bit of Progenitor tech so why are they still stuck with the same types of weapons.
· No Sub Systems compared to HW2
· No targetable ship components e.g. engines, primary weapon etc. compared to HW2
· IMO the fleet ship types and options were far inferior to HW 1 & 2. It felt dumbed down significantly.
· One kind of Corvette……..really???
· Hiigaran Carrier….horrible design and couldn’t keep up with the Khar-Kushan.
· Why no Ship Yard? I can understand the Khar-Kushan had capital ship building capabilities, but it still would have added flexibility in Fleet logistics.
· Fleet control options were not great and missing a few options compared to HW 1 & 2. When you have a fast paced fleet battle going on, you want to minimise the time it takes to search for ship order functions.
· Using classic controls with terrain tunnels sucked. I struggled with the camera view because of the terrain. Too often I was met with blue screen because the camera was inside a structure or terrain.
· The antagonist – The Queen of Incarnate, Tiaa’Ma. An Unbound that has been around for millennia with far superior knowledge and use of hyperspace, can move and destroy planets on a whim, can turn off hypergates or redirect them. With that kind of power, why didn’t she hunt down the cores and search the galaxy for them? A tyrant that has killed millions. The Queen in general as the antagonist and the campaign ending was incredibly bad.
· With the 3 Hyperspace Cores gone, the 15^th fleet are not the only ones stranded. The Hyperspace gate network is down for all civilisations. Far jumping is gone. What detrimental effect will that have on the galaxy at large including the Hiigaran colonies, economy, diplomatic relations with other civilisations etc.?
· Imogen’s choice not to engage with the Incarnate after their Queen was gone was poor form!
· Imogen S’Jet – The hair…dry and wet…WTF
· I personally wanted to learn more about the Progenitor. Instead, I got hive mind Progenitor worshipers and still very little information about them or those who created the cores and the gates etc.
· Sajuuk combined with the three hyperspace cores was the key to opening the Hyperspace Gates. It was a superior ship IMO. So where is Sajuuk now? Were the 3 cores removed and put into a new mothership (Khar-Sajuuk) with the primary weapon looking like a mini Sajuuk sticking out of the centre of the ship. If it is the Sajuuk with the Mothership built around it, the scale is way off. Sajuuk was a mothership size vessel!
So after that rant, HW3 is beautiful but a hard pill to swallow after 25 years of loving the HW Universe. Life goes on! I hope the loyal fan base provides constructive feedback for BBI and Gearbox Software in hope it is listened to and used to bring back epic storytelling.

So for context, I (25,M,C) am at somewhat of a crossroad. I have only up to a foundation in law from BAC (dropped out of my law degree). I've been working in a golf equipment wholesale & distribution firm for about 3 years now, making 2k (-epf,socso) a month. Mind y'all I handle quite a few tasks such as retail, clubfitting for the front end and sales and operations at the backend. I'm also a former national golf player so I've been in this life for quite a bit seeing the ins and outs of the industry.
Working here, I don't see much growth for myself and on top of making essentially Monopoly money, I don't get fulfillment or satisfaction from what I do. Basically, I hate it here now and desparately want an out.
So my two choices that I came up with is 1) Stay in the industry and go into teaching golf which I heard makes decent money or, 2) Complete industry and career change. The 2nd option is scary since I don't have a degree haven't had any experience in other fields.
Family and friends say I'm severely underpaid for the work I do and also, I live alone (mother in the US, dad passed 6 years ago).
Please offer a poor Chinese boy some suggestions or guidance :(

I’m 20 and I have a severe insecurity and it’s held me back from everything in my life It genuinely does prevent me from being myself I’ve tried to love myself, time and time again. And I do. I love my personality, my style, every other feature other than my nose. It does prevent me from things I want to do. I am an artist. I do costume art and sfx on myself. I have passions for performing. And making music in the future. I don’t want to do this with my nose because the insecurity is so bad that I genuinely don’t like to be perceived It also makes jobs very limited. I can’t get jobs that are overcrowded with people around my age that would tease me for still wearing a mask at work, because that’s a very real thing and makes it much worse. Especially when everything about me aside from my nose is attractive so I’ll have people hyping up an idea of me. I’ve cried about my nose more times than I can remember, it’s a monthly to weekly thing.
I finally decided to put a stop to fantasizing about possibilities and MAKING it real. I now have a consultation for a rhinoplasty coming up in July. It won’t be for another year that I actually get the surgery but I I’ll have plenty time to brace myself and save money in the meantime. Since I’m only 20, I still live at home with my mom so working and not having money priorities will make saving just fine. I’m going to sell art, possibly pick up a second job, and do everything I can.
And, because I have a deviated septum, my insurance is going to cover a portion of my surgery (the septoplasty part, but not the cosmetic changes, still a significant amount of money will be saved)
My surgeon has only 5 star reviews, seems VERY knowledgeable, and is only 3 hours away.
This means so much to me to the point that I don’t really care right now about how my nose looks, knowing it’ll be fixed in the future. I feel amazing knowing that I no longer have to fantasize. This is going to be a reality. A lot of people say surgery is worse for you in the long run, or “it doesn’t solve your issues, self love does” in some cases that may be true but for me? no. It does. I body check constantly every day and my dysmorphia is only rooted in my nose. Some days I just cover my nose completely with bandages and pretend it got injured, and those days I’m so confident and happy. I’ve had nose lift clips (that are quite painful, just things that you put in your nose to lift it) and I was even happier with my nose there, even though it was still rather big and looked kind of weird and piggy. So knowing I was happier with something like THAT, I know I’ll be happy even if it looks just 80% better rather than 100% better. I don’t want a perfect nose, I just want a normal one. But I have high hopes anyways because my surgeon seems to be absolutely amazing.
I have so many plans. just ALL sorts of projects that I’ve never been able to proceed with because my nose just made me not want to be perceived at all. everything was embarrassing. I know I’m going to have my days leading up to the procedure, and I know post-surgery can have its waves of depression but just thinking about life in the future makes me so happy. I have been dreaming of this since I was a child and I’ve had such a big suicide ideation my whole life because I never thought it would happen. It seemed like a fantasy. Until I got serious about it and started saving. The feeling is so worth it.

about 12 years ago, a designer that i had worked for as a project manager for so long, gifted me a peice of art. It wasnt the most interesting peice of art i suppose... but it was signed by the artist. The art is made of stained glass and canvas, framed and sealed. The artist was a well known artist in the stained glass world and i had the chance to meet him before his passing several years ago. Whats interesting about this painting/stained glass peice is that on the backside, the artist used heavy staples to adhere the outer edge of the art to the frame while also sealing the back cover of the artwork to the frame. this detail is very important. 1) it shows that the peice of artwork is typical of his style in the 2000's 2) it also shows that it has not been tampered with or the back cover removed. Back when i was gifted the painting, and to my knowledge, i was only the second owner of this peice of artwork. the designer i worked for at the time would have been the first. I remember the designer telling me a story about the painting but i cant remember the story of why he wound up with it. Anyways, between the stained glass and the back cover that is sealed, there is a big stack of what seems like dollar bill stacks. imagine having 4-5 bundles of cash which would be about 2 inches thick and what it would feel like in this painting. there is a totally visible hump. I for one have never thought anything about taking the back cover off as it wouldnt be replaceable. plus it would ruin the mystic of what is really inside this peice of art. It could be thousands and thousands of dollars. or it could be some chopped up newspaper clippings to make one think that its money. but there is no way to know. And the artist is now gone. the disigner is gone. i was moving just a few weeks ago and ran across the painting again. i suppose i could get some sort of x-ray or some sort of technology that would allow me to see past the back cover and to see what it really is. but if i do that, i ruin a lot of things. especially if it was found to not be money. So as of now, i am going to assume there is upwards of thousands of dollars in this painting. the value of the painting is the unknown behind the painting. How would i or where would i go to see if someone would be interested in buying it from me without knowing what is in it? the art people of reddit take their art talk serious so i do not plan on posting it in their network. jsut hoping someone here may have an idea

Pulled the original v6 yesterday, kinda a bittersweet moment (no pun intended given the color of this car being 2G bbs) , once pulled it occurred to me ill never have the original drive train again (brother inlaw decided to save it from scrap thankfully soo it will live on ) ,this car is a R title due to a minor accident me and her had about 5 years ago (got into a fender bender due to some clown not paying attention to the road) soo she will never be worth big money but i never plan on selling her. but I'm starting to get really excited for this cleveland swap. I did end up painting the whole bay today but didn't have time to grab pics due to it starting ti rain but thankfully I put the hood on and covered the front clip in plastic. Still have to do the 8.8 rear swap but other than that she is ready. Cleveland is just about ready to drop almost all new parts have been installed onto that engine, it's gonna be very pretty under that hood. I will miss the memories I made with my 3.8 v6 I swapped to 5 speed tho.

It’s amazing to see just how many women (and some men) are taking what he said out of context and jumping to conclusions by clipping one part of his speech and using that as ammo.
Harrison was clearly trying to say that family comes first and becoming a parent is where life begins since a family oriented person would typically view a happy and healthy family as their greatest gift. And if you listen to the rest of his speech, he says things about men too and how they need to be present in the home.
On top of that, the speech was given at a Catholic college and Catholics are known to be traditional yet the video was put online and now all the feminists are in an uproar over a speech that wasn’t meant for them. I can bet tons of money that if it was some Muslim speaker giving a speech at an Islamic college or event, no one would bat an eye but everyone seems to have a problem with Christianity.
All this trend is doing is showing that some women (specifically feminists) jump to conclusions and they only listen to parts of a conversation and will form an entire opinion without listening to the full story. It’s also showing the double standards in today’s society since women have no problem telling men how to live yet they get offended when they feel a man is telling them how to live. Doesn’t make sense and his career shouldn’t be ruined over it.

Sandoval Redemption Arc (Timestamp: 3:43) - Luke: Man, you did great this season though. I feel like there were a number of episodes that you absolutely carried, man. You did the dirty work at times that you had to do, 100%. - Schwartz: Luke, that is the hottest and only time I've ever heard a take like that in my life. I feel like I was kind of like a background character this season. - Kristen: No I don’t think so - Luke: You were absolutely essential to get through to people. You were the bridge that needed to happen. - Kristen: It's always your comic relief too. It's so refreshing. - Schwartz: On that note, Luke, to piggyback off or to continue that thought, I read the comments sometimes. For the most part, I stay out of the comments, but I like to see what's going on in there. And I saw a lot of people saying, we don't want a Sandoval Redemption story. - Schwartz: Ew, stop trying to shove a Sandoval Redemption story down our throats. And I don't know, man, maybe I'm too close to Tom or the whole situation. But I never saw this as a Tom Sandoval Redemption season. - Schwartz: I don't think he got a Redemption arc. I think he was just trying to reinstill a little humanity in someone that was like on the fucking edge of losing his mind. And I'm not here to evoke sympathy for Sandoval, but like I'm just saying, like the guy was on the edge. - Schwartz: He went to a very dark place. And yeah, I watched this entire season. I guess, I guess, I don't know, I didn't see it as a as Bravo trying to shove a redemption story down anyone's story at all. I thought it just trying to add some nuance and like a little civility to it. - Luke: There was nothing you could do. It was the story. You know, it's like it picked up so quick after the scandal broke. So what are you going to do? I mean, no one wanted to be around Tom about Sandoval. So I mean, it's kind of the real dynamic. And that's the whole point of it. - Kristen: For me, I think the quote unquote like redemption arc when I watched it, it wasn't about you. And at points, it wasn't even about Sandoval. I think it was the Lala of it trying to like, I don't know, it was like it just felt it didn't feel very authentic at times with Lala and kind of being Sandoval or like even Scheana. - Kristen: I know Scheana struggled a lot, though, but like, just certain times I felt like, because it wasn't you shoving Sandoval down people's throats, there were other people doing it and it felt like less genuine. But I don't think that you did. - Kristen: I think this is the first time not only on Vanderpump Rules, but really, since I've known you, that I've seen you kind of stand up to him and say like, this is like not you stopped sugarcoating shit. You weren't hurtful, but you just had to be more stern with him. - Schwartz: Well, there was some tough love. In order, it's like, dude, we put a hefty sum, you know, like I try not to think like this because it's not healthy, but you know, I could have bought a beautiful home, a nice appreciating asset and sat back and just chilled out. - Schwartz: But you know, I decided to open a bar and I'm taking ownership of it. But it's like when you do that, you put everything on the line for it, then all of a sudden, the brand name is, you know, severely jeopardized because of someone else's actions. It's hard not to be bitter. - Kristen: But of course, of course, but I think time does heal. And I think is from what I've seen, like there were definitely moments and I even said this on Watch What Happens Live when I was on it, like that I saw the glimpses of like a genuine old Tom who was really feeling his feelings. - Kristen: And even though a lot of people maybe didn't want to believe him, like I could see the difference and I genuinely believed his apologies and I do understand also that like it gets to a point where you do feel so beat down because I've been in that position obviously in the past, where it's like how many more times can I say I'm sorry? - Kristen: Where you kind of just get really frustrated, where it's like what the fuck else can I do? Do you want my firstborn child, like you guys, I'm eating shit a little bit. I just think the problem was Ariana wasn't ready and too many people weren't letting that go. And I think that's what it appeared to be. Like they're going to figure that out. She'll figure that out in her own time. - Kristen: I think when she has, I think this hiatus you guys are having is going to be really helpful for everyone to heal and move on and like live their own lives. - Kristen: So then hopefully you guys come back for a season 12 and we get to watch something more fresh, not like, okay, jump back in, no, we just did the reunion, but now a month later, we're going to keep talking about it again. Everyone's still kind of in the same place, you know?
The show taking a break (Timestamp: 8:15) - Schwartz: But yeah, I think that was beautifully stated. I think people need a little break. I think the show, I like that we're actually taking a little breather that is postponed. - Schwartz: I don't know what the future of the whole looks like, but maybe I'm delusional, but I feel like we're just gearing up for a whole new chapter. I don't know. I think the show needs to breathe a little bit. - Schwartz: There's some overexposure. I think there's some you know what of all fatigue, and it's like it got a little dark. Usually, the show has always been 100% authentic. Doute, you lived it with me. We were friends before the show. I think it was always more levity to it. It just got a little bleak, a little dismal for me the past few years. But I don't know. I think everyone's healing. - Schwartz: That was my mantra for the season, but no one wanted to hear it. Forgiveness is healing.
How the reunion was different (Timestamp: 9:04) - Kristen: At least for part one of the reunion, and I've heard some of you guys talk about this, I think the girls on Watch What Happens Live, that it wasn't as heated of a reunion as it has been in the past. It wasn't screaming and shouting and threatening to fight and things like that, which makes it so much more interesting because it's hard to hear. - Schwartz: I think so too. I love nuance and civil conversation. I'm intrigued by that. Of course, I like drama. I like a little blow up, a meltdown here and there, a mic rip, a signature Kristen Doute mic rip. - Kristen: Oh, totally. - Schwartz: But yeah, we had a pretty civil discourse. I don't want to make it sound boring because it was raw and intense. And I think just seeing some of the sentiment on Twitter and stuff, I think it's like you got to admire Lala's propensity to show up and do the work, do her job. - Schwartz: But at the same time, when you explicitly talk about it as if it's a job, it inherently detracts from the reality. So it's like Doute and Luke, you've been doing it long enough now. It's like an unspoken rule in the biz. - Schwartz: You have to be radically honest, remove your filter, and you have to bring it. But in talking about that and breaking the fourth wall, I don't know, lately I've been feeling like it's jeopardizing the authenticity of it. Because these are our real lives, we're not acting, we're not making up storylines. - Kristen: No, I agree with you about the Lala thing. And I think I've even maybe not explained it in the best way where I've said on our podcast recapping it, it felt like no one else wanted to talk about whatever the thing was like calling Rachel or certain moments or go have hot dogs with Jo. I guarantee that every other female cast member was like, hell no. - Kristen: And so Lala was like, I'll fucking do it. And so that's what I think to listeners, to you guys, like what we're trying to explain about reality TV. The job of it is being authentic and you can't have these conversations privately about Girl Joe or about this or that whatever. - Kristen: And then when the cameras are up, go, no, we're not doing that because essentially it means like, oh, the audience will rip us apart because we can't do that. You know what I'm saying? And so the job that Lala did is just saying the things that were already being said behind, like off camera. - Schwartz: Totally. - Kristen: So I do get her a lot of credit for that. - Schwartz: Me too. Lala brings it without a doubt. You know, she's a star on the show, but you know, it's like when you talk about it explicitly, I think, I don't know, in my mind, I worry that it jeopardizes the autisticity, but there's no doubt about it. Lala shows up. It does the work. - Schwartz: And it's like, the thing is a lot of those conversations are conversations you should have. They're like healthy, therapeutic conversations, ones that you would just rather put off. Let's talk about it a month, three months from now, maybe never, preferably sweep it under the rug, say la vie. - Schwartz: But like, you know, short term, it's like we live almost in a condensed time scale when we do reality TV. And it's as awful as some of those conversations are to have. It's like long term, they're usually therapeutic and probably healthy. - Schwartz: But like in Ariana's case this year at the reunion and everything, in like the grey walling and stuff, and just given that it was like this national global sensation, I think her not wanting to have that conversation with Tom at the end, I think it was earned. But you know, I also see other people's viewpoint, like, you know, we've all had to have such horribly uncomfortable conversations. But anyways, I think it seems polarized online. - Kristen: Of course it does - Schwartz: I think it was earned from Arianna, yeah.
What was it like watching the final act of the show together, live on stage, and then immediately having to talk about it? (Timestamp: 12:47) - Schwartz: I think I cried. It didn't feel like a finale finale to me, but it just it felt like a retrospective. And it got me, I don't know, got me feeling all kinds of nostalgia, you know, we've had like, we kind of even know some of us were in our 30s, we kind of grew up on television, you know, it's like, um, yeah, I don't know. - Schwartz: We really did. And like, we've forged really deep, meaningful friendships. Kristen, you're the second person I ever met in Los Angeles, you know, I love you. You're my family. - Kristen: Love you. - Schwartz: And yeah, it got me feeling a lot of feels.
What are going to do since you aren’t filming this summer? (Timestamp: 20:18) - Schwartz: I'm going to start sidequesting. You know what I mean? I don't know if you remember, Kristen, but before the pandemic, I was getting to the point where I was just confident enough to DJ in the bars. - Schwartz: I want to be able to DJ in my bars. I'm not trying to be like superstar DJ. I just want to be able to DJ in my bars. We're kind of relaunching our whiskey, which I'm super stoked about. We're going to be doing some bottle signings next week. We got distribution in California, which is cool. - Schwartz: I'm going to travel for the first time in my life. I'm planning on playing the World Series of Poker, Kristen, you know, I'm an avid poker player. - Schwartz: Also, this is another dream that I think is finally coming to fruition. I have property in Florida. I'm finally going to build a house for my family there and I have like this little pond. - Schwartz: I've been working out like every day eating healthier and I'm reading a little bit again. I stopped reading for like the past four years.
Jo (Timestamp: 30:25) - Kristen: And I don't want to give this too much attention because I feel like this clip as we're speaking is going to end up on an Instagram Live very shortly. But I just want to say that I, as of her last Instagram Live or whenever that was, you let me read your text to her in its entirety. - Kristen: And my frustration lies in that she was cherry picking bits and pieces and not reading the context behind these things, leaving out things that you said that were very kind, as well as leaving out things that you had to call her out on that frustrated you. And we're not going to say what those things are because that's between the two of you. And we're not going to pull out Jo by talking more about that. - Kristen: But I just want people to know that because everyone's like, well, what happened? What's the main thing? And why did it turn this way so quickly? - Kristen: So I think, is that fair to say that you explained yourself in a very lengthy way and said everything you had to say. And it was you that sent the text. - Schwartz: Yeah, it was firm, but constructive. And yeah, it felt like a major violation when she went and read that. I bought some good quality components, im just not happy with the sound quality at all...
My car is a 2006 Civic Coupe, I installed a pair of Morel Maximo 602 Ultra MKII speakers, the tweeters are mounted on top of the dash facing towards the passenger area, a couple cm away from the windshield.
My amp is a Kenwood KAC-M1814, bridged for 90w RMS. honestly not too happy with that purchase as I for some reason didnt check to see if it had proper speaker output terminals and it doesnt. It works fine but I wouldnt buy it again. Sub is just a Kenwood Excelon something or other, cant remember but it doesnt really matter as its not the issue. Bass sound fine.
My issue im having is that while the speakers have a ton of detail and overall sound good, I just cannot listen to them to a decent level without severe ear fatigue, I bought these because I wanted a smoother sounding setup without harsh treble but Im getting that harsh treble.
I know its most likely an issue on my end, I have tried setting the gain up by ear using sine waves and found the clipping point, then backed it off a bit, didnt help. I tried setting it even lower and it didnt help either. So Im guessing its probably a placement thing or maybe just something Ill need to EQ out?
I didnt sound treat my doors, likely will in the future but really its the frequencies 4k and up that bother me most. Ive tried my best to not make a post and just look through other peoples posts but I still don't really know where to go from here without spending a ton of money chasing something that can be fixed simply.
I dont really want car AV to be my hobby, I just like good clean sound and decided to do it myself but its proving to be a pain. If you need more info LMK, ill try my best.

As the title says, I keep getting random crashes with "Exception C0000005 caught!" in the crashlog. I tried uninstalling NVHR and it solved the problem for a while, I already downloaded the last JIP beta in the xNVSE discord but it keeps happening and it appears to be random, because sometimes I can play like for an hour or longer but other times it crashes after five minutes or so, the last one happened fifteen minutes after I opened the game. I don’t know why I hate this guy, but he just seems like a douche. He is constantly seeking partners and pushing questionable deals. He puts out hiring ads for jobs that don’t exist. He keeps trying to hire a ‘marketing manager’ that he pays $1000 to if they source a set up and coordinate a wholesale deal that closes.
The guy corners me once in a while and explains his absolutely revolutionary system. He puts houses with an assumable loan under contract and wholesales them to people with enough money to buy out the equity who can then have an old timer interest rate. It isn’t bad, but it is pretty rare. Probably 2 deals a year.
When I push back he just keeps saying that I ‘don’t get it’.
I get it. I just don’t care. We are in a pretty small market and it isn’t a big enough number of deals to care about. The delta is tiny. By the time you math out the price and the down payment there isn’t much left on the bones.
The current partnership deal:
He provides a deal with financing under 5%
You provide the cash and operate it as a STR. You do all the operating.
The property: literally a house from the MLS that sat for 100 days. The price is full retail value. Might not even appraise at purchase price.
