 | So I've seen a lot of posts complaining about a really dark game for windows 10, but non for apple ios devices. I can definitely play my game on this brightness, but I would love to increase the brightness so I can see wth I'm doing during build/buy mode. I have it toggled to daylight. Just comparing my game to screenshots from cc shows me my game is super dark in comparison. Is this because it's winter? couldn't find any info about that online either. I can open the game by .exe with steam closed, but no matter what I do the game does not open if I am logged in.
Obviously this is a problem because I can't use the steam cloud and play online.

I used to play a lot of strategy games, I enjoy city builders or civ builders (4X games), but those often feel like spending 1-2 hours and nothing much really happened ... it's like you end your gaming session for the day on a cliffhanger.
Then there's MMOs, I like GW2 and Star Trek Online, but MMOs often feel like a choir, even if gearing and stuff is entirely optional. I discover some new armor set or something in GW2 and want to get it, but then it's a rare thing requiring to complete a set of achievements or collections and that's like a whole month-investment. And with STO I feel like I'm only doing the daily task for whatever the current event is, and very little else.
RPG games come with a story, so that's another thing that makes me feel like I am required, or even forced to (subconsciously), to invest time in it to complete the story.
No, what I need is something to scratch my gaming itch, which won't offer me a long term goal (such as unlocking better gear or skins or see the story to the end) and which will be easy to pick up where I left off even after many days or weeks or months of not playing.

I (30f) have always struggled with friendships with my female friends, and I'm starting to worry I'm doing something wrong.
I want to start by saying I definitely have my own insecurities, but overall I'm very confident and sure of who I am. I raised by an amazing mom, two sisters I love more than anything and an absolute shithead of a dad who I've gone no contact with.
I worked my way through 2 post secondary degrees before moving abroad for work and that was when I really began to notice the pattern of this huge falling outs I was having with my female friends compared to my male friends and I'm really starting to think it may be me.
The thing is, while I very much enjoy my time with my female friends and try my best to be an active patlrticipant in my friendships I find our interests don't line up very often. Most of my friends have a spouse and kids or long term significant others and I am happily single. I don't get the same joy from things they do. While I enjoy cafes, brunches, women's gatherings and spa days. I'm far more excited for outdoor activities or more casual get together like bonfires or playing video games/movie nights.
I played hockey in my home country (recreationally) and in the warm climate I live in now I take full advantage of the nice weather by hiking regularly, dirt bikes, ATVs, etc. And as a result the majority of my friend group consists of my single, male colleagues and friends.
I never thought too much about it, I'm not much of a texter so usually unless it's a preplanned thing I'm pretty much solo anyways. But recently multiple women in my social group have pulled me aside to tell me that I have too many male friends, that I make my female friends uncomfortable and I've even had one woman who told me flat out I was no longer allowed to spend time alone with one of my male friends after they began dating but wouldn't tell me why.
I genuinely and truly believe that I try to treat all my friendships equitably and always try to be there to support and help and be a good friend. But I find that my female friends more often than not are wanting to sit and gossip (for lack of a better word, just like talk about nothing or their partners, etc), or they need help with a problem or challenging task - that im always happy to help with - but i can't relate to their conversations, and its tiring when it seems like i only hear from them when something is wrong or they need help, versus my male friends who want to go out, try new activities and foods, go camping, etc.
I feel sick that I've made these friends uncomfortable, but my interests and personality hasn't changed from the interests I've always had. Have I done something or am I doing something wrong here?

Okay so recently i have been going through and replaying a few of my favorite game franchises, ya know relive the good days. The past few days ive been replaying the OG first Assassin's Creed; the one that started it all. And while i gotta say it doesnt hold up great like it did way back when it came out in 2007, its still a very fun game. All this time replaying it tho has got me thinking, what if for AC's 20th Aniversary coming up in a few years they not only remasted the game but also gave it a complete mechanics and gameplay overhaul. Giving us a proper 20th Aniversary edition!
What would you like to see in such a remake that deserves to exist? what features from games that have come out since would you like to see revisted? How could they expand on the game making it feel more fleshed out but all the while still keeping to the core of what the first game was?...
Ill start, personally i would absolutely love if they revisted Assassin's Creeds competitive multiplayer that they had from Brotherhood to Black Flag. Giving us a fresh set of maps set in the Holy Land to have fun in with friends online. They could even monitise such a feature by releasing map packs + plus character bundles for each game in the franchise as DLC. I know id pay for a multiplayer experience in settings from games we never got to experience it in. And frankly ive missed the multiplayer, i have such fond memories from when i was in highschool playing online with my friends.

I was changing the body paint on my character when suddenly I noticed my options and colour palette choices had greatly reduced. Exited my game, went to the store, which didn’t load, went back into my game and they’re all still gone.
Hoping there’s just some small issue that will resolve itself, but otherwise I am, suffice to say, quite annoyed.

LOVED the progression in these games.
The Crew and Forza were neat, but ultimately felt like open checklist racers. The progression was sorta there, but you could be driving a super car around the open world in an hour. The progression also seemed more geared towards showing off online as opposed to it being integral to the game.
I've touched on some of the newer NFS games, but for one reason or another, they just weren't clicking. I'll admit I haven't tried Unbound, which looks the most similar to what I'm looking for on the surface, but the claims of horrific rubberbanding I see all through the reviews turned me right off of it.
What I loved about these games was the certain.. RPGness of them. Scouring an open world, making some money, upgrading your turbo trying to get through a tough main story race, etc. I'm really hoping there's something newer to scratch this itch.

Hi all,
I have been 'officially' diagnosed with depression caused by chronic illness a few days ago, which isn't really news to me. Anyway I'm in therapy in the same hospital I work at, and I'm happy with my therapist as there's a good connection between us.
One of the first things I'm supposed to work on would be to avoid negativity and focus on the things that make me happy right now, even if they're not productive.
I find this difficult as I'm a massive fan of movies, TV and quality storylines in games. I already find it more difficult to get the same enjoyment from them as I did before. And now recently every online discussion about new releases is way more negative. Even if in some cases people enjoyed everything about the content, they find something bad to say about the production, writers, delays or even finances.
Now avoiding online discussion would be one thing but these opinions so far always bleed into real life discussions. I really don't want to unintentionally adopt this unending cycle of negativity but enjoying something all alone makes me sad too.
Other things I enjoy are so far really difficult because of my chronic illness.
