In 1986 an Italian professor working for the University of Pavia in Italy would have a face to face encounter with an unknown entity. But unlike so many other encounters, this professor was able to take 5 photos.
To begin with, I will state that this post was months in the making (mostly waiting and chasing false leads) and carries with it perhaps some answers, plenty of questions, and perhaps for some, a similarity to their own experiences. Special thanks to u/Neo-Rex as well as u/ebycon for their assistance in helping me find and rule out some areas of research.
Disclaimer: The following images and text are provided without photo manipulation on my end (besides simple cropping and scanning). There are going to be many references in this post to Italian media, magazines, as well as individual writers. This is by no means an endorsement, advertisement, or other form of ARG intended to sell, market, or persuade anyone to buy, rent, or procure any of the described materials. Because I know this is a new area of topic, and because the images provided are of an unusual nature, I will provide various sources to prove that these images are not enhanced, manipulated by hand or by a contemporary photo manipulation program or AI generation.
Before we get into the nitty gritty of the images I will provide background as to how I came upon these images, and the flow of information.
I was first made aware of these images after researching separate alien encounters for a post of mine (see that post here for further details regarding that) one of the sources used was "alieni in italia 1945-1995 50 anni di incontri ravvicinati". On page VIII towards the back of the book these images (or rather image as three were compressed into one section) as well as the following text appears
https://preview.redd.it/zz1ti49qm60d1.jpg?width=806&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e53f7b8ec62fb68abc04a29caa117d2f21c13325
"Vero alieno o scoop giornalistico?
Translated: "Real alien or journalistic scoop? I have avoided including in the present catalog this singular case. These are in fact some photos(5) taken by an unidentified "university professor from Pavia" in the summer of 1986 and published by seven. The weekly newspaper Corriere della Sera. They refer to an alleged alien entity that allegedly manifested itself to the professor in a completely random situation. There was no shortage of unfavorable opinions expressed by several ufologists. ( Photo taken from: Seven No. 9/10 seven days illustrated by Corriere della Sera, March 5, 1988.
That was all the information provided within. (it should be noted that although this description mentions 5 photos, there are only these 3 provided within Moreno Tambellinis book.) These images captured my attention fairly quickly as I am fairly familiar with purported alien/supernatural photographs, so to find one I have never seen, and in such a quality which is general not present within other such photos as these, was more than enough to tip my curiosity in the direction of delving deeper.
First attempt at finding further information regarding these photos, and this particular magazine issue ended in little success, though I was able to find what I, at the time, believed to be a correctly colorized image of this entity. See below.
https://preview.redd.it/xpyz6eeum60d1.png?width=341&format=png&auto=webp&s=292a9a3afe55c7e83d0f6d5ccce43aa5f35d9fec
Unassuming on some random blog that attributed a name to this entity while providing no further information regarding the image itself (as certain ufological circles are want to do). Not finding further information I attempted to find further information based off of this colorized image, but to no avail. Save for one source that used this image ( in a different colorized manner, slightly less yellow and oozing with potential, that being this image by Argentinian Ufologist Dante Franch. See below.
https://preview.redd.it/tl0dx4lym60d1.png?width=280&format=png&auto=webp&s=ca523a7f18df130f09c9174e925d044a89852690
Finally, someone who might have a lead on this information! But no, once again this image is deceptively alluring as the contents of this book have absolutely nothing to do with the Sette report, but simply use its image to describe unsourced and unverified tales of the City of Erks (a wild dive on its own and may be deserving of its own post) and other entities that supposedly have a resemblance to this cover image.
Upon further searches I came across this archived link with additional images some with closer to truth color, including the aforementioned first colorized image here https://web.archive.org/web/20080312200229/https://www.anomalia.org/perspectivas/fotosets/campo_cielo.htm as well as the additional references. The author of this blog post is Mexican Ufologist Luis Ruiz Noguez, notable for his skepticism and thorough investigation relating to this material, so it was a no-brainier to look into his research regarding this seeing as he had previously mentioned it here on his blogpost. So where better to look than his book "Extraterrestres ante las camaras" Volume X dealing specifically with italian encounters and purported alien photographs. But again, despite his previous notation in this blog, the contents of these images specifically are nowhere to be seen or mentioned within this book.
Research stagnated for some time during the search process for the original source cited in Moreno Tambellinis book. I was able after five months (you have no idea how hard it was to find a copy) able to acquire a copy of this magazine and finally was able to determine that the previously assumed white coverall of this entities outfit has been a false notion.
The following text is a translation of the pages within this issue of march 7th 1988 Sette: Corriere della Cera . 9/10, the original scans, as well as a translated text document of these pages can be found in the sources listed below. Important note: although these images are primary focus of this article, it does meander into thoughts on Whitley Striebers book "Communion" (which will be a source of contention that will be covered later in this post). But the translated post here is the relevant text to these images.
"Just as we were editing a report on the UFO phenomenon that was supposed to appear on 7 at the same time as the television passage of Spielberg's film Close Encounters of the third kind, we came across a resounding surprise: the images published in these pages and on the cover of this issue. They were taken completely by chance, one summer evening in 1986, by a professor at the University of Pavia, above all suspicion and known for his balance, his intelligence and rationality, completely alien to the somewhat emphatic and vaguely bizarre world of the so-called "contactees": those people who say they have entered into a relationship with unknown entities from the cosmos."
"He is a completely normal person who has always been skeptical of the reports of unidentified flying objects and is now also a testimony, erroneous to the idea that his name is related to the disturbing figure captured by his camera. The university lecturer has agreed to give us what he considers to be evidence of his shocking experience in exchange for absolute confidentiality"
"What to make of these images? We can make a few assumptions.
A) The author of the photos is a mystrifier. It is unlikely: too much resistance has opposed the publication of his document (which he has yielded for free to 7). In addition, he wishes to remain anonymous. A behavior that is certainly not that of those who want to speculate on a scooop, true or presumed.
B) The author is the victim of a game. Someone made him take "fireflies for lanterns". A well-thought-out game, by true professionals. It is not unlikely, even if the professor is not a "contactee", one obsessed with extraterrestrials, that is, a man who could arouse "temptations" among those who know him.
C) The photos really document something alien. A mysterious otherness has been captured by the professor's camera, who was the first to be surprised by this tangible presence, imprinted on the film that is absolutely different from a hallucination. What to say? What are we to think of images that forcefully re-propose the problem (or the dream, or the myth, or the nightmare) of the existence of other beings, of other civilizations that populate galaxies or dimensions unknown to us? Science continues to question these facts, but an answer is still a long way off. All experiences at the "edge of reality" are embarrassing. The line that divides science and mystery is still vague. Prudence, in these cases, is a must. And the desire not to appear is widespread among the witnesses. The professor from Pavia, who chose restriction, has an illustrious precedent."
"These images, taken on a summer evening in 1986 by a professor at the University of Pavia, who asked to remain anonymous, are the subject of various hypotheses of interpretation in the text of the article. The reader is free to draw his own conclusions."
Here are the direct scans of this entity as they appear in the magazine, scanned directly out of a physical copy of this magazine. (do note although these images are uploaded in different order I believe they may be sorted as such, I make no claim to the accuracy of this in terms of chronological order, but which is most aesthetically appeasing.)
https://preview.redd.it/mk91ugp3n60d1.png?width=520&format=png&auto=webp&s=8218b2c6c3b0a508ef086c37c2d0e07552f73910

Now, while the article was very keen to post certain aspects of this, it was rather lacking, and it must be stated although the title of this issue, as well as the description in the article infer this is related to UFO's. There is no mention of an actual UFO or craft present within this encounter, or at the very least, this information was omitted from the article, and was potentially removed at the request of the professor in question, though that is speculation on my part.
The following sections will deal with the author of this previous issue, as well as the two follow-up articles and their individual authors.
There is more information present as the above text states, not from the previous issue, but from two separate follow-up articles that were saved and printed in the Italian Ufo magazine "UFO express no. 043." Link to the full untranslated issue here/UFO%20Express%20-%20No%20043.pdf). These separate addendums fully cover the images in question and are critical but not overly-so. The most important aspect to this is that the professor provided further information to Sette, primarily about what they were doing prior to this entities appearance, but also their means of photographic capture.
{Page 1}
UFO: Is this being from another world? read the scroll on the cover of 7 (No. 9/10) that we republish on this page. Hundreds of phone calls and letters arrived at the editorial office, and they continue to arrive after Mino Damato in his TV program Alla ricerca dell'arca (Sunday, March 27, Rai 3 8:30 p.m.) dealt with the same images, depicting a hypothetical alien photographed by a professor at the University of Pavia one summer evening in 1986.
There are those who believe in this hypothetical alien and those who do not, but all of the readers who have phoned or written are bound to each other by the rejection of that question mark printed on the cover: each of them is persuaded to erase the hypothesis, to tear away the veil of the enigma. And they split into two equally intolerant parties, leaving no room for doubt. We have chosen two exemplary letters. The first letter comes from Brixen and is signed by Mr. Nicola De Paola (2 Clesia Street). He says “the alien is a tobogganist: typical are the tight suit the aerodynamic helmet, the face crushed by the transparent visor, the blurred colors and contours of the photos are due to the fact that they were taken from television, with the obj vo blurred or too close up and strange an alien with limbs, head, face and body identical to those of man; I too will be able to take photographs quite similar to those published; as a reader I feel mocked.”
Others have certainly seen in the hypothetical alien: a surgeon, a nurse, an ice skater, an Icelandic firefighter, a Norwegian cryologist (sic), a KGB spy, a hockey player with his head bandaged; in short, some man in overalls or uniforms. No one has identified in the figures, despite the width of the pelvis, a woman or an androgynous. The second letter comes from Ferrara and is signed by Mr. Giovanni Mantovani (via Luigi Borsari 51). Says; When I saw the photographs I immediately thought: but look, it looks like the E.T. seen by R.M on September 2, 1987 while he was fishing on the bank of the Canal Bianco (RO). He felt an intense tingling, turned around and saw a strange individual: dark complexion, 2 meters tall, hair that looked like plastic, wearing a luminescent blue jumpsuit. The apparition lasted a few seconds.R.M. felt a chill, a feeling that was renewed at the sight of your photos... Only one remark can be made to the professor of Pavia: that of not having given the readers further clarifications about the close approach of the third type...
Here are the further clarifications that the professor from Pavia has allowed us to give, although he is consumed by the fear of being uncovered and covered with ridicule. The photos were taken by a Nikon camera, with motor-drive, 55 mm lens. Micro, 3.5 aperture, shutter speed: 1/4 second Polachrome film, 40 Asa sensitivity. Shortly after the sun went down, the professor was completing some experiments on the optical perception of dogs (how does a dog see things in the world? Black and white? With what depth, in what perspective?). That alone is almost ridiculous. We were missing the hypothetical alien. A dog joke? Maybe. But the professor never solved the riddle. And dogs don't talk. ~ Paolo Pietroni

Your E.T. seems to me to be a feminine being...
Dear editor, I am writing to you in relation to the series of 5 photographs taken by a better identified professor of Pavia one summer evening in 1986 and which appeared in the supplement of the Corriere della Sera n. 9/10 Since I am not familiar with photographic technique, I have written down the shooting parameters communicated by you personally during Mino D'Amato's television program In Search of the Ark on March 27.
Correct me if I'm wrong: Nikon camera body with motor, 5.5 mm focal length lens, aperture dia 3.5, exposure time 1/15 of a second. Certainly, with this adjustment, every little movement of the camera or of the photographed subject causes a blurred or rather blurred photograph. Probably, this whole story of the photos arose from the need of the Rizzoli Group to launch on the market the Italian version of the best American seller Communion by Ted Jacob, which deals, coincidentally, with the subject of extraterrestrials. This colossal business is also sponsored by the production of the film, which has been "posted" while waiting for the possible buyers of such a profitable product to be sufficiently sensitized...
Having said this, I wish, through his kindness, to convey to the professor of Pavia my modest comments on his photos. Feminism aside, I confess that the first spontaneous observation I made on these photographs was to recognize without a shadow of a doubt a woman, or rather a female being; The conformation of the hips, the breasts, combined with the grace of the bowed pose with folded arms, unequivocally belonged to a woman. But let's get to the details.
The suit - It appears so tight that it shows every little part of the body so as to give the impression of a "second skin"; It has light blue-green bands (as shown in the photo on the right on page 74) that are more evident around the neck, on the shoulders and on the arms.
The hands - They appear covered by the sleeves and more elongated than ours (cover figure), dare I say w(bed.
The head - Although it is more mobile, it clearly shows these elements: oval face with a slightly flattened nose, microphone with a light-colored support arm placed at the height of the left ear (photo on the right, page 74)
The headset - It is completely different from any type currently built because it contains a transceiver module at the top for contact with some support organ (e.g. an operations center, or a cosmoplane, or another operator), similar to what happens in Italy when astronauts go out of their vehicle and maintain constant radio contact with the control center.
The transceiver part can be seen both in the cover photo and on page 74, left and right, and is indicated by the protuberance on the top of the skull.
This study was born well out of any venal or other interest, in fact I am not a ufologist, but a pilot in full flight activity and with command responsibilities; I have been a first-hand witness to the phenomenon commonly associated with the improper name of UFO
Sure of the need to deal with the subject with more compatible methodologies than those promulgated by scientists and ufologists, I dedicate myself to the enhancement of aeronautical contactism, intending with this new term to redefine the sightings of military and civil pilots, aeronautical technicians, engineers, etc. who through direct experience with the phenomenon have acquired the conviction that we are not alone Only those who have had a direct impact with the phenomenon (the contactee) can provide a plausible image of themselves... everything else... They are only lucubrations born from mindsets that are not up-to-date with the present sotric moment on the one hand, and with the characteristics of the phenomenon on the other.

I forwarded his observations to the professor in Pavia, author of the photos depicting the hypothetical alien. Thank you for your interesting analysis. You are free to believe it or not, but the Rizzoli Communion book had an absolutely random presence in our service: we liked the design of the cover; the portrait of that E.T. and we thought of enriching the illustrations of the service.
Roberto Doz (a fairly interesting individual on his own, air force colonel with his own UFO sighting) read more on that here
As for the author of the original article. Their name is Nullo Cantaroni, and may be more well known by his wife Bice Cairati( Sveva Casati Modigiani), Nullo Cantaroni had a fairly successful journalistic career, dealing primarily in medicine as co-authorized by fellow science journalist Severina Cantaroni. He eventually succumbed to Parkinson's disease. I make mention of these authors, Roberto Doz (who has a very good reason to be interested in the topic as he had his own experience). As well as the other two as these are not the ramblings of some crazy pumping out their own versions of weekly world news, but were and still are highly credible and respected peoples, whom by their own association are taking the flak for posting this material to begin with.
From here on out, this is going to be a further dive into the already presented material, some comparisons with other cases which have direct correlation with these images, as well as other information during my research that has not been touched on up until this point.
In the first follow-up article there is mention of a show "Alla Ricera dell'arca (In search of the ARK)". With he show discussing the images posted here. I was able to confirm that this episode does exist, with the covered material, and is within the RAI archives (Italian TV network/station). However, they would not lend the episode out to a non-Italian citizen, or someone associated with a University, or media conglomeration. I mention this as there may be more material covered in this episode that was not provided in the main article and its follow-ups. If there are any Italian citizens, or peoples reading this who have the appropriate accreditation to acquire a copy of this episode I would ask for your cooperation in attempting to do so. If someone has a copy of this simply recorded off of an old VHS I implore you to make that available to all.
Going back to the main article, the meandering to Communion is certainly off-putting, though I disagree with the previous mention that this was a hoax on the part of the publication to push Communion. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence after all (even though Carl Sagan never bothered with the evidence, side tangent: listen to J Allen Hynek talk about that here) But I believe these images were published in good faith on part of Nullo Cantaroni, his background and thorough career would make this unlikely.
So as it figures there are three scenarios here that describe this scenario (in no particular order of likelihood)
1) these images are hoaxed by the publication to push communion
2) these images are hoaxed by the supposed professor
3) these images are legitimate and provide evidence of a non-earth based entity.
Before I move on I'd like to mention that I did attempt to reach out to Corriere della Sera multiple times regarding this material but was never given a response.
To round this off the images themselves. Humanoid obviously, female-appearing, now I say appearing because assuming this really is some unexpected entity, there is no guarantee that the physiology of this figure accurately represents its determination, and although this entity appears to have what we'd consider to be skin, that may only be a covering to another form or may be some type of robotic synthetic life-form designed specifically to mimic human appearances. What may be most interesting or most alarming depending on your perspective is this entities face appears to change between shots, and yet seemingly keeps the same body proportions. If you are of the opinion this is some type of hoax you could state this is an obvious inconsistency between shots. On the other hand, that is an obvious conclusion to make and showing differentiating faces would be a rather odd choice on the part of a hoaxer. This again could be part of the photographing process, as there is motion blur between some of these photos and it simply gives an appearance that things are changing.
There are other features which must be touched upon, namely the clothing, but in one such photo, what appears to be some type of headgear wrapped around this entities face. To anyone with a passing knowledge of ufology and its associated lore would know, the favorite of any interstellar interloper is the tight formfitting bodysuit. Primarily described as blue, although other colors are often reported. But unlike most humanoid encounters described in the west, this entity seems to have a darker complexion about them. Now does that mean this does not fit in with established prior encounters? Not at all, for whatever reason the blonde-hair nordic is the most popular discussion topic when it comes to human-adjacent lifeforms, but in other places, and Italy especially, some of their most well know or most covered, feature entities with darker complexions. Case in point

This encounter in 1978 Italy with a dark-skinned entity in a shimmering scaled suit. Or this description of a dark skinned entity with a similar described blue suit reported in 1987
Location. Villamarzana, Rome, Italy Date: September 2 1987 Time: 1700
Renzo Munari was fishing on the Bianco Canal when he noticed a strange object flying at a moderated speed over the river, as the object disappeared from sight he felt a strange prickling sensation in his body, resembling electrical static. Turning around he saw a very tall human-like figure staring intently at him. The figure was at least 2 meters in height, with orange hair and dark skin. He wore a luminous blue colored tight fitting coverall. On the left side of his chest there was a square orange colored “tag.” During the encounter the witness felt a cool wave of air and light headed. The figure apparently disappeared into the brush.

There is also this report from 1989 Russia
Location. Salsk, Rostov region, Russia Date: August 13 1989 Time: 2300
Working at a cotton irrigation plant Vasiliy Ivanovich suddenly experienced total equipment failure without any apparent cause. While searching for the cause of the breakdown, the witness heard a loud voice, “He is searching for the cause”. Looking around he saw four humanoids standing close to him. One stood in the front, while the other three stood in the back. He described the humanoids as tall, with long dangling arms, with a large head, flattened on the top and wide at the temples. The humanoids are dark red or brown in color with large egg-shaped eyes and two holes instead of a nose. They have no lips, and thin strip instead of a mouth. They were wearing truncated shiny blue coveralls and footwear. The humanoid standing at the front of the others held a box in his hand and a soft pleasant voice seemed to emanate from the box. He held the box at stomach level. Ivanovich approached the humanoids and asked who they were; the reply was a question asking him if he wanted to go with them. At this point the witness saw a light at the edge of the nearby woods and a hovering object. The humanoids then floated slowly towards the craft and disappeared. Terrified the witness ran to the village to notify other witnesses but upon returning to the site the humanoids had already left.

As for the headgear, there is a report from 1995 Italy of an entity not resembling this one in this post, but wearing a similarly described headpiece.
Location: Ancona, Italy Date: February 3 1994, Time: 9:00am
Six witnesses, including a Mr. Giulo observed a strange humanoid wandering around some nearby rocks. The humanoid was described as about 1 meter and a half in height, wearing a tight fitting black coverall that covered his whole body including a pair of very long feet. The face was elongated with two huge round eyes, with round black pupils. It appeared to be wearing earphones with a small thin protruding antenna. It seemed to stagger slowly and after about 10 minutes it rose up slowly and vertically into the air, quickly disappearing from sight

There is also this case from Barisciano Italy 1978 in which an entity bearing a striking similar blue color to the outfit was seen, with an adorning white "cap" or hairpiece that resembled that of a cap. read the untranslated version of that encounter here/Notiziario%20UFO%20-%201984%2001-02%20-%20Vol%2018%20No%20102.pdf)

Finally, lets get back to the person allegedly behind this whole spiel, the Professor. A claim such as this, where an entity appears in ones presence without any known means is a stark claim all on its own, to provide photos of such an encounter is another thing all together, but being as its an anonymous person, how can we gleam any credibility out of this? To put it in other words, is there enough information provided within the original article as well as the follow-up articles to speculate on a potential identity to who this man could have been?
Emphatically yes, infact there is only one such individual who fits the criteria with the information provided, granted this information was given after the fact of the original articles publication. In the first article within UFO express that discusses this, we are told this person is running experiments relating to dogs (canine) eyesight, but the author was unsure whether or not this is a jest of some sort. I do not believe it is, in the secondary article it is again mentioned that this professor is working with canine eyesight, but in a caption on the second page it is emphasized this was "non-academic research". Now does that mean it was unrelated to their professional focus? No, it simply means this research was carried outside of official means. This leads me to who I believe the primary suspect is in terms of a potential identity, could there be other more accurate people? Perhaps. But this persons tenure and level of research within this subject and the timeframe of when they were working at the University of Pavia lines up perfectly with who this person could be. However, because of doxxing concerns, and that they initially requested complete anonymity from the publication I will not be directly naming their identity here. But I will heavily state that this person worked in the university of Pavia from 1985 in the zoology department and specifically with foxes and wolves. With this person having worked and published (into the present) works related to both of these fields. I have attempted to personally reach out to this professor both via email & telephone (their academic numbers, not personal) but have received no response. I would ask that if you do look into who this person is that you do not attempt to directly contact them as their lack of a response is response enough.
What was the encounter like? How long did it go on for? Was there a conversation or was this a quick in and out? These questions and more are not answered here, and perhaps never will be unless someone; the professor, an associate, or anyone else, comes forward with more details we are left wondering and wanting more. There is of course much to be said about these images and the potential for further investigations, including the peculiar hands this entity seems to posses that does have a passing resemblance to other cases, but lest this drag on to long I will leave it here and attempt to answer any questions that I may be capable of giving insight on.

See below.
https://preview.redd.it/tc06rvxum60d1.png?width=341&format=png&auto=webp&s=141ee2128cdcd0894f57f999876ff380a4def235
See below.
https://preview.redd.it/39i2rdvxm60d1.png?width=280&format=png&auto=webp&s=14bf476ca33164db334bc4b835a52b349d66990d

{Page 1}

I have attempted to personally reach out to this professor both via email & telephone (their academic numbers, not personal) but have
received no response.

"Vero alieno o scoop giornalistico? Ho evitato di inserire nel presente catalogo questo caso avvero singolare. Si referiscono ad una presunta entita aliena che si sarebbe manifestata al professore in una situazione del tutto casuale. Non sono mancati pareri sfavorevoli expressi da parecchi ufologi. ( Foto tratte da: Sette n. 9/10 sette giorni illustrati dal Corriere della Sera, 5 marzo, 1988.
See below.
https://preview.redd.it/ntnngh1fo60d1.png?width=341&format=png&auto=webp&s=7685ab304637834f06c14c93b6158e23f8ed66a6
Unassuming on some random blog that attributed a name to this entity while providing no further information regarding the image itself (as certain ufological circles are want to do). Not finding further information I attempted to find further information based off of this colorized image, but to no avail. Save for one source that used this image ( in a different colorized manner, slightly less yellow and oozing with potential, that being this image by Argentinian Ufologist Dante Franch. See below.
https://preview.redd.it/y99g6yhho60d1.png?width=280&format=png&auto=webp&s=a784d5d82998aab7784b0e0ff8507bf999b7e320

2024.04.28 23:22 bloombooo 19 year old with possible AGP(?) here, I feel like I have worsening dysphoria but it feels rooted in fetishism and misogyny and I don't know what to do

the reason I call myself "agp" (even though I dont believe in the typology 100%) is because of how I first found out about about trans stuff. I was always kinda masculine as a kid (with some small feminine mannerisms that were mostly caused by my autism, you know like the hand stuff and all that) and I never really cared for traditionally "feminine" things.
Ever since I was a kid (like 6) I always had a "fascination" (that eventually turned into a fetish because duh) with transformation stuff in cartoons. I don't really know where and why I was so weirdly obsessed with it but it just was (dont have any trauma btw). However it always leaned into stuff like turning into animals and whatever and never leaned into feminization or TG. That was until I found deviantart in my very early teens that I found out about TG stuff which I got really obsessed with. however I eventually weaned off of it and started liking transformation stuff where the character was already a woman because I didn't like self inserting as a man even if said "man" was being turned into a woman (funny, I know). I basically never watched or was interested in porn at all and only really read deviantart/furaffinity captions and stories (even now)
When I finally did start watching porn it was either lesbian stuff or straight trans stuff. I only really liked the more amateur stuff that was more intimate and I absolutely hated the more extreme "normal" porn because I hated the idea of actually having sex with anybody, male or female even though im bi.
All of this eventually lead to me finding out about trans spaces online and thats where I found out transitioning which is something ive been aware of ever since I was 14. I was initially very enthusiastic when I found out about it but after falling down some transphobic rabbitholes I returned to feeling indifferent about it. Now that im going through a "second puberty" Ive started to feel distressed over my secondary sex characteristics and have started to get paranoid about things like my bones fusing and more permanent changes
The reason I feel like its all rooted in fetishism and misoginy is because I feel like all of this is a result of a mix of unfortunate scenarios that gave me some kinda brainworms. Most of the fetish stuff I was into (and still am) is gross (shit like bimbofication for example). I really hate the idea of being a "man" but I feel like thats what I am in body, mind, and soul unlike trans people who want, no, ARE what they feel inside.

2024.04.24 17:49 seductiveaura "We feel safe around tall men" yeah and what about your own safety from them ?

I was watching a video of a women who was physically abused by her boyfriend, her entire face was bruised. She captioned the video "don't chase for handsome traits rather search for someone with a good heart" or something like that I don't remember, it made me wonder do women really not care about their safety from the man they claim to be protective ? What if the relationship goes south and he turns out to be abusive, his tall ass would knock you in one punch. I'm not suggesting that short men are weak or incapable of harming them, instead shouldn't they feel more safer around them ? As society potrays them as weak and feminized.

2024.04.24 14:41 terdaltaccount The System’s Neatest Trick by Theodore Kaczynski

The supreme luxury of the society of technical necessity will be to grant the bonus of useless revolt and of an acquiescent smile. —Jacques Ellul[1] The System has played a trick on today's would-be revolutionaries and rebels. The trick is so cute that if it had been consciously planned one would have to admire it for its almost mathematical elegance.
  1. What the System Is Not
Let's begin by making clear what the System is not. The System is not George W. Bush and his advisers and appointees, it is not the cops who maltreat protesters, it is not the CEOs of the multinational corporations, and it is not the Frankensteins in their laboratories who criminally tinker with the genes of living things. All of these people are servants of the System, but in themselves they do not constitute the System. In particular, the personal and individual values, attitudes, beliefs, and behavior of any of these people may be significantly in conflict with the needs of the System.
To illustrate with an example, the System requires respect for property rights, yet CEOs, cops, scientists, and politicians sometimes steal. (In speaking of stealing we don't have to confine ourselves to actual lifting of physical objects. We can include all illegal means of acquiring property, such as cheating on income tax, accepting bribes, and any other form of graft or corruption.) But the fact that CEOs, cops, scientists, and politicians sometimes steal does not mean that stealing is part of the System. On the contrary, when a cop or a politician steals something he is rebelling against the System's requirement of respect for law and property. Yet, even when they are stealing, these people remain servants of the System as long as they publicly maintain their support for law and property.
Whatever illegal acts may be committed by politicians, cops, or CEOs as individuals, theft, bribery, and graft are not part of the System but diseases of the System. The less stealing there is, the better the System functions, and that is why the servants and boosters of the System always advocate obedience to the law in public, even if they may sometimes find it convenient to break the law in private.
Take another example. Although the police are the System's enforcers police brutality is not part of the System. When the cops beat the crap out of a suspect they are not doing the System's work, they are only letting out their own anger and hostility. The System's goal is not brutality or the expression of anger. As far as police work is concerned, the System's goal is to compel obedience to its rules and to do so with the least possible amount of disruption, violence, and bad publicity. Thus, from the System's point of view, the ideal cop is one who never gets angry, never uses any more violence than necessary, and as far as possible relies on manipulation rather than force to keep people under control. Police brutality is only another disease of the System, not part of the System.
For proof, look at the attitude of the media. The mainstream media almost universally condemn police brutality. Of course, the attitude of the mainstream media represents, as a rule, the consensus of opinion among the powerful classes in our society as to what is good for the System.
What has just been said about theft, graft, and police brutality applies also to issues of discrimination and victimization such as racism, sexism, homophobia, poverty, and sweatshops. All of these are bad for the System. For example, the more that black people feel themselves scorned or excluded, the more likely they are to turn to crime and the less likely they are to educate themselves for careers that will make them useful to the System.
Modern technology, with its rapid long-distance transportation and its disruption of traditional ways of life, has led to the mixing of populations, so that nowadays people of different races, nationalities, cultures, and religions have to live and work side by side. If people hate or reject one another on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual preference, etc., the resulting conflicts interfere with the functioning of the System. Apart from a few old fossilized relics of the past like Jesse Helms, the leaders of the System know this very well, and that is why we are taught in school and through the media to believe that racism, sexism, homophobia, and so forth are social evils to be eliminated.
No doubt some of the leaders of the System, some of the politicians, scientists, and CEOs, privately feel that a woman's place is in the home, or that homosexuality and interracial marriage are repugnant. But even if the majority of them felt that way it would not mean that racism, sexism, and homophobia were part of the System—any more than the existence of stealing among the leaders means that stealing is part of the System. Just as the System must promote respect for law and property for the sake of its own security, the System must also discourage racism and other forms of victimization, for the same reason. That is why the System, notwithstanding any private deviations by individual members of the elite, is basically committed to suppressing discrimination and victimization.
For proof, look again at the attitude of the mainstream media. In spite of occasional timid dissent by a few of the more daring and reactionary commentators, media propaganda overwhelmingly favors racial and gender equality and acceptance of homosexuality and interracial marriage.[2]
The System needs a population that is meek, nonviolent, domesticated, docile, and obedient. It needs to avoid any conflict or disruption that could interfere with the orderly functioning of the social machine. In addition to suppressing racial, ethnic, religious, and other group hostilities, it also has to suppress or harness for its own advantage all other tendencies that could lead to disruption or disorder, such as machismo, aggressive impulses, and any inclination to violence.
Naturally, traditional racial and ethnic antagonisms die slowly, machismo, aggressiveness, and violent impulses are not easily suppressed, and attitudes toward sex and gender identity are not transformed overnight. Therefore there are many individuals who resist these changes, and the System is faced with the problem of overcoming their resistance.[3]
  1. How the System Exploits the Impulse to Rebel
All of us in modern society are hemmed in by a dense network of rules and regulations. We are at the mercy of large organizations such as corporations, governments, labor unions, universities, churches, and political parties, and consequently we are powerless. As a result of the servitude, the powerlessness, and the other indignities that the System inflicts on us, there is widespread frustration, which leads to an impulse to rebel. And this is where the System plays its neatest trick: Through a brilliant sleight of hand, it turns rebellion to its own advantage.
Many people do not understand the roots of their own frustration, hence their rebellion is directionless. They know that they want to rebel, but they don't know what they want to rebel against. Luckily, the System is able to fill their need by providing them with a list of standard and stereotyped grievances in the name of which to rebel: racism, homophobia, women's issues, poverty, sweatshops…the whole laundry-bag of "activist" issues.
Huge numbers of would-be rebels take the bait. In fighting racism, sexism, etc., etc., they are only doing the System's work for it. In spite of this, they imagine that they are rebelling against the System. How is this possible?
First, 50 years ago the System was not yet committed to equality for black people, women and homosexuals, so that action in favor of these causes really was a form of rebellion. Consequently these causes came to be conventionally regarded as rebel causes. They have retained that status today simply as a matter of tradition; that is, because each rebel generation imitates the preceding generations.
Second, there are still significant numbers of people, as I pointed out earlier, who resist the social changes that the System requires, and some of these people even are authority figures such as cops, judges, or politicians. These resisters provide a target for the would-be rebels, someone for them to rebel against. Commentators like Rush Limbaugh help the process by ranting against the activists: Seeing that they have made someone angry fosters the activists' illusion that they are rebelling.
Third, in order to bring themselves into conflict even with that majority of the System's leaders who fully accept the social changes that the System demands, the would-be rebels insist on solutions that go farther than what the System's leaders consider prudent, and they show exaggerated anger over trivial matters. For example, they demand payment of reparations to black people, and they often become enraged at any criticism of a minority group, no matter how cautious and reasonable.
In this way the activists are able to maintain the illusion that they are rebelling against the System. But the illusion is absurd. Agitation against racism, sexism, homophobia and the like no more constitutes rebellion against the System than does agitation against political graft and corruption. Those who work against graft and corruption are not rebelling but acting as the System's enforcers: They are helping to keep the politicians obedient to the rules of the System. Those who work against racism, sexism, and homophobia similarly are acting as the Systems' enforcers: They help the System to suppress the deviant racist, sexist, and homophobic attitudes that cause problems for the System.
But the activists don't act only as the System's enforcers. They also serve as a kind of lightning rod that protects the System by drawing public resentment away from the System and its institutions. For example, there were several reasons why it was to the System's advantage to get women out of the home and into the workplace. Fifty years ago, if the System, as represented by the government or the media, had begun out of the blue a propaganda campaign designed to make it socially acceptable for women to center their lives on careers rather than on the home, the natural human resistance to change would have caused widespread public resentment. What actually happened was that the changes were spearheaded by radical feminists, behind whom the System's institutions trailed at a safe distance. The resentment of the more conservative members of society was directed primarily against the radical feminists rather than against the System and its institutions, because the changes sponsored by the System seemed slow and moderate in comparison with the more radical solutions advocated by feminists, and even these relatively slow changes were seen as having been forced on the System by pressure from the radicals.
  1. The System's Neatest Trick
So, in a nutshell, the System's neatest trick is this:
For the sake of its own efficiency and security, the System needs to bring about deep and radical social changes to match the changed conditions resulting from technological progress.
The frustration of life under the circumstances imposed by the System leads to rebellious impulses.
Rebellious impulses are co-opted by the System in the service of the social changes it requires; activists "rebel" against the old and outmoded values that are no longer of use to the System and in favor of the new values that the System needs us to accept.
In this way rebellious impulses, which otherwise might have been dangerous to the System, are given an outlet that is not only harmless to the System, but useful to it.
Much of the public resentment resulting from the imposition of social changes is drawn away from the System and its institutions and is directed instead at the radicals who spearhead the social changes.
Of course, this trick was not planned in advance by the System's leaders, who are not conscious of having played a trick at all. The way it works is something like this:
In deciding what position to take on any issue, the editors, publishers, and owners of the media must consciously or unconsciously balance several factors. They must consider how their readers or viewers will react to what they print or broadcast about the issue, they must consider how their advertisers, their peers in the media, and other powerful persons will react, and they must consider the effect on the security of the System of what they print or broadcast.
These practical considerations will usually outweigh whatever personal feelings they may have about the issue. The personal feelings of the media leaders, their advertisers, and other powerful persons are varied. They may be liberal or conservative, religious or atheistic. The only universal common ground among the leaders is their commitment to the System, its security, and its power. Therefore, within the limits imposed by what the public is willing to accept, the principal factor determining the attitudes propagated by the media is a rough consensus of opinion among the media leaders and other powerful people as to what is good for the System.
Thus, when an editor or other media leader sets out to decide what attitude to take toward a movement or a cause, his first thought is whether the movement includes anything that is good or bad for the System. Maybe he tells himself that his decision is based on moral, philosophical, or religious grounds, but it is an observable fact that in practice the security of the System takes precedence over all other factors in determining the attitude of the media.
For example, if a news-magazine editor looks at the militia movement, he may or may not sympathize personally with some of its grievances and goals, but he also sees that there will be a strong consensus among his advertisers and his peers in the media that the militia movement is potentially dangerous to the System and therefore should be discouraged. Under these circumstances he knows that his magazine had better take a negative attitude toward the militia movement. The negative attitude of the media presumably is part of the reason why the militia movement has died down.
When the same editor looks at radical feminism he sees that some of its more extreme solutions would be dangerous to the System, but he also sees that feminism holds much that is useful to the System. Women's participation in the business and technical world integrates them and their families better into the System. Their talents are of service to the System in business and technical matters. Feminist emphasis on ending domestic abuse and rape also serves the System's needs, since rape and abuse, like other forms of violence, are dangerous to the System. Perhaps most important, the editor recognizes that the pettiness and meaninglessness of modern housework and the social isolation of the modern housewife can lead to serious frustration for many women; frustration that will cause problems for the System unless women are allowed an outlet through careers in the business and technical world.
Even if this editor is a macho type who personally feels more comfortable with women in a subordinate position, he knows that feminism, at least in a relatively moderate form, is good for the System. He knows that his editorial posture must be favorable toward moderate feminism, otherwise he will face the disapproval of his advertisers and other powerful people. This is why the mainstream media's attitude has been generally supportive of moderate feminism, mixed toward radical feminism, and consistently hostile only toward the most extreme feminist positions.
Through this type of process, rebel movements that are dangerous to the System are subjected to negative propaganda, while rebel movements that are believed to be useful to the System are given cautious encouragement in the media. Unconscious absorption of media propaganda influences would-be rebels to "rebel" in ways that serve the interests of the System.
The university intellectuals also play an important role in carrying out the System's trick. Though they like to fancy themselves independent thinkers, the intellectuals are (allowing for individual exceptions) the most oversocialized, the most conformist, the tamest and most domesticated, the most pampered, dependent, and spineless group in America today. As a result, their impulse to rebel is particularly strong. But, because they are incapable of independent thought, real rebellion is impossible for them. Consequently they are suckers for the System's trick, which allows them to irritate people and enjoy the illusion of rebelling without ever having to challenge the System's basic values.
Because they are the teachers of young people, the university intellectuals are in a position to help the System play its trick on the young, which they do by steering young people's rebellious impulses toward the standard, stereotyped targets: racism, colonialism, women's issues, etc. Young people who are not college students learn through the media, or through personal contact, of the "social justice" issues for which students rebel, and they imitate the students. Thus a youth culture develops in which there is a stereotyped mode of rebellion that spreads through imitation of peers—just as hairstyles, clothing styles, and other fads spread through imitation.
  1. The Trick Is Not Perfect
Naturally, the System's trick does not work perfectly. Not all of the positions adopted by the "activist" community are consistent with the needs of the System. In this connection, some of the most important difficulties that confront the System are related to the conflict between the two different types of propaganda that the System has to use, integration propaganda and agitation propaganda.[4]
Integration propaganda is the principal mechanism of socialization in modern society. It is propaganda that is designed to instill in people the attitudes, beliefs, values, and habits that they need to have in order to be safe and useful tools of the System. It teaches people to permanently repress or sublimate those emotional impulses that are dangerous to the System. Its focus is on long-term attitudes and deep-seated values of broad applicability, rather than on attitudes toward specific, current issues.
Agitation propaganda plays on people's emotions so as to bring out certain attitudes or behaviors in specific, current situations. Instead of teaching people to suppress dangerous emotional impulses, it seeks to stimulate certain emotions for well-defined purposes localized in time.
The System needs an orderly, docile, cooperative, passive, dependent population. Above all it requires a nonviolent population, since it needs the government to have a monopoly on the use of physical force. For this reason, integration propaganda has to teach us to be horrified, frightened, and appalled by violence, so that we will not be tempted to use it even when we are very angry. (By "violence" I mean physical attacks on human beings.) More generally, integration propaganda has to teach us soft, cuddly values that emphasize nonaggressiveness, interdependence, and cooperation.
On the other hand, in certain contexts the System itself finds it useful or necessary to resort to brutal, aggressive methods to achieve its own objectives. The most obvious example of such methods is warfare. In wartime the System relies on agitation propaganda: In order to win public approval of military action, it plays on people's emotions to make them feel frightened and angry at their real or supposed enemy.
In this situation there is a conflict between integration propaganda and agitation propaganda. Those people in whom the cuddly values and the aversion to violence have been most deeply planted can't easily be persuaded to approve a bloody military operation.
Here the System's trick backfires to some extent. The activists, who have been "rebelling" all along in favor of the values of integration propaganda, continue to do so during wartime. They oppose the war effort not only because it is violent but because it is "racist," "colonialist," "imperialist," etc., all of which are contrary to the soft, cuddly values taught by integration propaganda.
The System's trick also backfires where the treatment of animals is concerned. Inevitably, many people extend to animals the soft values and the aversion to violence that they are taught with respect to humans. They are horrified by the slaughter of animals for meat and by other practices harmful to animals, such as the reduction of chickens to egg-laying machines kept in tiny cages or the use of animals in scientific experiments. Up to a point, the resulting opposition to mistreatment of animals may be useful to the System: Because a vegan diet is more efficient in terms of resource-utilization than a carnivorous one is, veganism, if widely adopted, will help to ease the burden placed on the Earth's limited resources by the growth of the human population. But activists' insistence on ending the use of animals in scientific experiments is squarely in conflict with the System's needs, since for the foreseeable future there is not likely to be any workable substitute for living animals as research subjects.
All the same, the fact that the System's trick does backfire here and there does not prevent it from being on the whole a remarkably effective device for turning rebellious impulses to the System's advantage.
It has to be conceded that the trick described here is not the only factor determining the direction that rebellious impulses take in our society. Many people today feel weak and powerless (for the very good reason that the System really does make us weak and powerless), and therefore identify obsessively with victims, with the weak and the oppressed. That's part of the reason why victimization issues, such as racism, sexism, homophobia, and neocolonialism have become standard activist issues.
  1. An Example
I have with me an anthropology textbook[5] in which I've noticed several nice examples of the way in which university intellectuals help the System with its trick by disguising conformity as criticism of modern society. The cutest of these examples is found on pages 132–36, where the author quotes, in "adapted" form, an article by one Rhonda Kay Williamson, an intersexed person (that is, a person born with both male and female physical characteristics).
Williamson states that the American Indians not only accepted intersexed persons but especially valued them.[6] She contrasts this attitude with the Euro-American attitude, which she equates with the attitude that her own parents adopted toward her.
Williamson's parents mistreated her cruelly. They held her in contempt for her intersexed condition. They told her she was "cursed and given over to the devil," and they took her to charismatic churches to have the "demon" cast out of her. She was even given napkins into which she was supposed to "cough out the demon."
But it is obviously ridiculous to equate this with the modern Euro-American attitude. It may approximate the Euro-American attitude of 150 years ago, but nowadays almost any American educator psychologist, or mainstream clergyman would be horrified at that kind of treatment of an intersexed person. The media would never dream of portraying such treatment in a favorable light. Average middle-class Americans today may not be as accepting of the intersexed condition as the Indians were, but few would fail to recognize the cruelty of the way in which Williamson was treated.
Williamson's parents obviously were deviants, religious kooks whose attitudes and beliefs were way out of line with the values of the System. Thus, while putting on a show of criticizing modern Euro-American society, Williamson really is attacking only deviant minorities and cultural laggards who have not yet adapted to the dominant values of present-day America.
Haviland, the author of the book, on page 12 portrays cultural anthropology as iconoclastic, as challenging the assumptions of modern Western society. This is so far contrary to the truth that it would be funny if it weren't so pathetic. The mainstream of modern American anthropology is abjectly subservient to the values and assumptions of the System. When today's anthropologists pretend to challenge the values of their society, typically they challenge only the values of the past—obsolete and outmoded values now held by no one but deviants and laggards who have not kept up with the cultural changes that the System requires of us.
Haviland's use of Williamson's article illustrates this very well, and it represents the general slant of Haviland's book. Haviland plays up ethnographic facts that teach his readers politically correct lessons, but he understates or omits altogether ethnographic facts that are politically incorrect. Thus, while he quotes Williamson's account to emphasize the Indians' acceptance of intersexed persons, he does not mention, for example, that among many of the Indian tribes women who committed adultery had their noses cut off,[7] whereas no such punishment was inflicted on male adulterers; or that among the Crow Indians a warrior who was struck by a stranger had to kill the offender immediately, else he was irretrievably disgraced in the eyes of his tribe;[8] nor does Haviland discuss the habitual use of torture by the Indians of the eastern United States.[9] Of course, facts of that kind represent violence, machismo, and gender-discrimination, hence they are inconsistent with the present-day values of the System and tend to get censored out as politically incorrect.
Yet I don't doubt that Haviland is perfectly sincere in his belief that anthropologists challenge the assumptions of Western society. The capacity for self-deception of our university intellectuals will easily stretch that far.
To conclude, I want to make clear that I'm not suggesting that it is good to cut off noses for adultery, or that any other abuse of women should be tolerated, nor would I want to see anybody scorned or rejected because they are intersexed or because of their race, religion, sexual orientation, etc., etc., etc. But in our society today these matters are, at most, issues of reform. The System's neatest trick consists in having turned powerful rebellious impulses, which otherwise might have taken a revolutionary direction, to the service of these modest reforms.
[1] Jacques Ellul, The Technological Society, translated by John Wilkinson, published by Alfred A. Knopf, New York, 1964, page 427.
[2] Even the most superficial review of the mass media in modern industrialized countries, or even in countries that merely aspire to modernity, will confirm that the System is committed to eliminating discrimination in regard to race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc., etc., etc. It would be easy to find thousands of examples that illustrate this, but here we cite only three, from three disparate countries.
United States: "Public Displays of Affection," U.S. News & World Report, September 9, 2002, pages 42-43. This article provides a nice example of the way propaganda functions. It takes an ostensibly objective or neutral position on homosexual partnerships, giving some space to the views of those who oppose public acceptance of homosexuality. But anyone reading the article, with its distinctly sympathetic treatment of a homosexual couple, will be left with the impression that acceptance of homosexuality is desirable and, in the long run, inevitable. Particularly important is the photograph of the homosexual couple in question: A physically attractive pair has been selected and has been photographed attractively. No one with the slightest understanding of propaganda can fail to see that the article constitutes propaganda in favor of acceptance of homosexuality. And bear in mind that U.S. News & World Report is a right-of-center magazine.
Russia: "Putin Denounces Intolerance," The Denver Post, July 26, 2002, page 16A. "MOSCOW—President Vladimir Putin strongly denounced racial and religious prejudice on Thursday…'If we let this chauvinistic bacteria of either national or religious intolerance develop, we will ruin the country', Putin said in remarks prominently replayed on Russian television on Thursday night." Etc., etc.
Mexico: "Persiste racismo contra indígenas" ("Racism against indigenous people persists"), El Sol de México, January 11, 2002, page 1/B. Photo caption: "In spite of efforts to give dignity to the indigenous people of our country, they continue to suffer discrimination…." The article reports on the efforts of the bishops of Mexico to combat discrimination, but says that the bishops want to "purity" indigenous customs in order to liberate the women from their traditionally inferior status. El Sol de México is reputed to be a right-of-center newspaper.
Anyone who wanted to take the trouble could multiply these examples a thousand times over. The evidence that the System itself is set on eliminating discrimination and victimization is so obvious and so massive that one boggles at the radicals' belief that fighting these evils is a form of rebellion. One can only attribute it to a phenomenon well known to professional propagandists: People tend to block out, to fail to perceive or to remember, information that conflicts with their ideology. See the interesting article, "Propaganda," in The New Encyclopaedia Britannica, Volume 26, Macropaedia, 15th Edition, 1997, pages 171–79, specifically page 176.
[3] In this section I've said something about what the System is not, but I haven't said what the System is. A friend of mine has pointed out that this may leave the reader nonplussed, so I'd better explain that for the purposes of this article it isn't necessary to have a precise definition of what the System is. I couldn't think of any way of defining the System in a single, well-rounded sentence and I didn't want to break the continuity of the article with a long, awkward, and unnecessary digression addressing the question of what the System is, so I left that question unanswered. I don't think my failure to answer it will seriously impair the reader's understanding of the point that I want to make in this article.

Everything about this makes my blood boil
I hate everything about this. She’s a white woman who doesn’t understand what oppression is. Nor does she understand what “same rights” mean; just like she doesn’t understand she gets the right to stay home doing nothing thanks to feminism.
As for the caption, literally it’s been proven the wage gap is real Bri. Just cause you don’t want to believe it, doesn’t mean it’s not true.

2024.04.08 13:29 LailahDream Promoting under your real name/identity

Crazy questions here, and we're gonna go really deep, but I still want to ask. I’m interested in hearing from anyone, but especially if you have a career you're trying to grow as an *SFW* creative too:
Does anyone create under their real name?
Or has anyone used their NSFW persona to leverage a creative career under their real name?
I know OF was originally intended for people who already had a real-life following, people whose real names were easily discoverable (if not already known). This changed as more people started doing porn on OF and wanting to hide their identities (and therefore coming to OF under stage names) — but to this day, there are still people who act as themselves online, no pseudonyms, and then direct interested followers to their adult content.
I also know that, eventually, as you grow, people are bound to discover who you are anyway.
My situation is, I’m a writer. I WANT to create content across a variety of platforms, and not just of the NSFW variety. I’m new to the NSFW thing, and I know the best way to succeed in it is to treat it like a FT job — but since writing is my ultimate passion and goal, I don’t want to treat writing like a side gig on the margins of Fansly and OF.
When it comes to promo, the prospect of pouring so much of my time and energy into splitting myself into two people (one a writer; one an online SW) is beyond daunting. I feel like, if I were creating on my socials as myself, it would be so much more organic and sustainable. I could also much more easily showcase my actual personality even in my NSFW captions.
In other words, if I could just let my real socials grow organically (and play it safe enough to avoid getting banned), I could simultaneously grow my following as a SFW creative AND drive curiosity and traffic for my NSFW stuff.
Is this an entirely unrealistic goal???
For context, as a writer, I already have thousands of (SFW) followers under my real name, albeit not on a promo-friendly platform. My written content usually focuses on relationships / dating / sex / mental health / feminism / mysticism. My ultimate, long-range vision involves me doing stuff like selling workbooks and ebooks or some kind of consulting services, especially in the realm of relationship quality and self-love, BUT the spiritual and feminist sides of me *do* very strongly want online spaces where I can also explore my sensuality, post NSFW stuff, and not have to censor my body. Kind of like a sex-bomb mystic who supports female empowerment, while also representing a magnetic femme energy that can be healing for men (....and thereby dismantle the patriarchy like a Trojan horse).
I view income from NSFW content creation as a way to support my (SFW) creative goals. But with the daunting magnitude of work involved in promo, it just feels really unsustainable to bifurcate myself: I’d rather that the promo for my writing help grow my NSFW stuff, and that the promo for my NSFW stuff help grow my visibility as a writer. (Especially since so much of my writing IS about intimacy.) I don’t mind cross-posting and maintaining multiple accounts, or even continuing to use my stage name on my NSFW platforms. But I don’t want to have to *avoid* posting X or Y or Z on a given account just to try to “hide” my identity — because this limits my reach and effectively "wastes" so much of my creative work, energy, and time.
I’m not embarrassed for people to know I’m doing NSFW stuff, and I'm self-employed, so my only concern is safety. That said, being female, I’ve already had stalkers just from living my life, and I’ve already gotten hate from men on the internet just for having an opinion — so I’m not sure how much having an NSFW gig online really changes the level of risk. In fact, I would kind of hope that cultivating a complex, multifaceted, authentic "empowered goddess" persona would help (on some level) to weed out the men who otherwise *would* just see me as an object.
I'm feeling really torn here and would be very curious to hear your experiences with this kind of thing.
Thanks so much for reading this far!

2024.03.06 20:09 Critical-Tie5122 The fetishization

The fetishization
I had TOCD for around 5 months but I'll say this much had I not been raised in an environment that made me skeptical about my condition I would be trans now. My sexual fetish for reading forced feminization nearly led to me being trans. I have never been a misogynistic person to women outwardly however I believe subconsciously I held some tendencies to at least view their existence as lesser then that of a male so I suppose when id see men feminized in stories or captions I would get horny to the idea which was fine until I began wondering if I subconsciously placed myself in the role. I began to feel a sort of gender dysphoria questioning if I liked my body, feeling the urge to crossdress(luckily I never did), wondering about masculine and feminine tasks, caring about pronouns all of sudden, questioning my sexual orientation. I kept suffering and suffering wondering how I could suddenly be trans at 25 after loving my masculinity the sports I played the rest of my life. then one day I came upon a great woman named Dr.Trish Leigh on YouTube and I realized how correct this woman was about everything. She explained basically how the American psychological association had lied to me how I was an addict how simply because I wanted something in my head didn't mean that it defined me afterall an alcoholic will always want alcohol. I realized that my habitual porn usage for around 10 years to fall asleep every night had been shrinking a portion of my brain, I had a healthy life style besides this habit I'm highly fit person and I love keeping my mind active which is why it took so long for me to destabilize. It was funny at first I started questioning am I repressing who I truly am but I was able to laugh that idea off because I realized if it was the result of external stimuli then a transition would never work long term. After merely a few weeks the thoughts were nearly gone, the gender dysphoria I had evaporated. Why is this story important who cares?
  1. Life is a long-term journey if the transition is the result of external influence such as porn usage or social media people telling you how "happy they are" you'll most likely regret it
  2. I would've destroyed my brain and body in the process while violating womens spaces out of sheer narcissistic tendencies
  3. I never could have been woman and I never wanted to be not really sure my brain may have told me something but it was nonsensical to believe that I could be in a wrong body or that one day I just woke up. Sure I've struggled with wanting to perfect my male body for year's but that's just body dysmorphia it had nothing to do with gender.
  4. Never underestimate external influence
  5. Always cling to reality.
  6. After abstaining from porn and masterbating for 2 or 3 months your prefences will change(NOT YOUR ORIENTATION IF YOUR GAY YOURE GAY)
  7. You are not repressing your sexuality by abstaining from external influences
Now I'm living my best life I make great money at my job, I'm competing in a powerlifting competition, I have a great gf, I've dropped porn forever, and my ocd or gender dysphoria is gone I'm so happy I found this sub of individuals. Yes I know a lot of this post is offensive but just understand that part of the reason a lot of men crossdress and do things is because of their internalized misogynistic tendencies to look down on women as weak, or lesser. Note how women don't typically associate that behavior with sexuality while men very often do. I have none of those urges anymore so I'm very happy. I felt like this post was also important because had I been a teenager with this condition without a support system doctors could have easily had me cut up and put on hormones.

2024.03.04 17:32 Arise_Muslim_ His Muslim GF - A Short Story

Originally posted on AriseMuslim.com
“I’m sorry Chase, but we can’t continue…”
He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. His Muslim girlfriend of 5 years was breaking it off.
“But Amira, what’s changed? Why now?!”
The two of them stood there in the university dorm room…
The very room in which she lost her virginity to him, and all of those subsequent nights they spent together throughout the last six years of university.
“I’m getting old, and it’s about time I start thinking about marriage”, exclaimed Amira. The appearance of distress on her face clearly giving itself away.
“Are they pressuring you again?” Chase asked, remembering that she had complained in the past about her parents introducing her to men of her community for marriage.
“No, it’s nothing to do with them… it’s just…”
“Spit it out Amira, what is it?”
“I don’t see us being together anymore beyond this point Chase… you’re an Atheist and I’m a Muslim woman and…”
“But I thought we were past that Amira?” exclaimed Chase before she could even complete her sentence.
“All this time me being an Atheist wasn’t an issue but now all of a sudden it matters?”
“Besides, you even said you didn’t want that kind of backwards life like every other woman from your country!”
“I don’t, Chase. But I also don’t have a choice. You won’t even pretend to convert for me. My family would never accept our relationship, and even if I wanted to run away with you I couldn’t because you’re still studying and neither of us are financially ready yet.”
“I… I just can’t wait any longer, Chase. I should be a mother by now. I want stability and security. You were my first one and we had alot of fun, and I will always remember the amazing moments we shared together, but I just don’t get why you can’t fake convert for my sake at least, Chase.”
He stood their gazing at her as she wrapped her Hijab around her head like she’s done every Friday before heading back to visit her family for the weekend.
“I can’t do it Amira. I can’t fake being a Muslim. I cannot live a double life and pretend to be someone I’m…”
“But I can?!” exclaimed Amira before Chase could even finish his sentence.
“I can have sex with you every Friday morning before class and then be home at my parents in the evening praying behind my father, but you can’t even as much as utter a few words for my sake and pretend to be a Muslim?”
“Am I something of pleasure and leisure-use for you that you expect me to bend to your every whim but not even return the slightest favor or sacrifice on your part??”
She began to sob.
The gravity of his words struck Chase.
He could see it in her tear-swelled eyes that living this double life had taken a mental toll on her these last few months.
Amira really had changed alot for him. She really loved him. And she proved it.
The shy ethnic Hijabi girl he first met in biology class who was so timid and shy to talk with men, had with his words and his guiding hand now matured into a completely different person from the one he first met.
In the last five years since they met, he’d seen her go from wearing a Jilbaab and no makeup to now wearing body-hugging clothes that revealed her shape in all it’s feminine glory, to going to bars and experimenting with different alcoholic beverages, to spending the night at his dorm room smoking weed after a session of doing the ‘deed’ together, and then visiting her family on the weekends, presenting to them the appearance of an innocent practicing Hijabi Muslim girl.
“So… who’s this guy your parents want you to marry?” Chase inquired.
“Abdullahi” said Amira as she wiped away tears from her eyes.
“Your second cousin?!”
“Yeah”
“He’s the one who’s completed his residency, right?”
“Yeah.”
A brief silence ensued
“But I thought you found him to be unattractive and backwards in his mindset? You even said he is “too religious” for you?” said Chase as he broke the silence.
“He definitely is, and I’m not fully convinced about him, but like I said, you won’t even convert for me, and you’re also still studying so my options are limited. He has a financially secure future going for him, and I’m approaching my thirties. I can’t keep postponing having a family of my own.”
“Marriage and kids, huh?” Chase muttered.
He couldn’t wrap his mind around why people still believed in antiquated traditions and “sacred vows”.
Why people still believed in religion and having kids.
Don’t they know kids are bad for the environment?
Don’t they know religions cause wars??
Don’t they know that religions oppress women by imposing rectrictions on their sexuality???
“If you just want kids, then we can easily adopt a few from Africa. Beats bringing more humans into this earth and increasing humanity’s carbon footprint.”
He could never get behind a religious cause. But an environmental one? He was fanatically committed in this regard, because to him, you can measure air pollution and the environmental impact of humanity’s presence.
But God? Heaven? Hell? You couldn’t “measure” those.
Those were nothing but “oppressive concepts” created by the oppressive Black and Brown men to keep their women in chains.
“Are you for real right now, Chase? I want my own kids, my own bloodline. I want comfort and security and commitment. If you’re not willing to give me any of these then leave my life!”
And like that, their five year relationship came to an end.
Amira and Chase did not see eye-to-eye on matters that mattered most.
Things that went skin deep.
The time they had spent together was nothing more than a fleeting moment.
Sure, she still had Abdullahi to fall back on, even though he gave her the ‘icks’.
But for Amira, Abdullahi was “too predictable”, “too standard”.
And if she had it her way, she’d rather reverse and replay the last five years over and over again, to be forever trapped in that timeline of experiences Chase had given her.
The thrill of breaking every barrier ever placed upon her with a man who, she even now within her heart of hearts, viewed as her savior, her liberator, still drove her crazy for him.
But alas, age was catching up with her.
And that one advantage she had to secure a “good man” (aka, a sucker) was closing.
So, as much as she detested Abdullahi, it was her time to bite the bullet so to speak.
And bite the bullet she would.
But at least her heart was content with the fact that the best of her was given to Chase who’s memory will forever be imprinted within her mind.
“But you will always be at the back of my mind, Chase. I won’t forget the fun we had, and how you gave me experiences no Muslim man ever will”, she thought to herself as she trudged past all of their favorite campus spots they had spent time in together.
>> Fast forward 6 months >>
As he was scrolling through his Facebook feed, Chase stumbled upon a video shared by an aquaintence, the captions of which read:
“Alf mabrook to my Somali soul sister! Girl I knew this day would come!!”
It was a clip of a Amira who Chase at first did not recognize due to her makeup. With her was a man clad in a tuxedo and after the first few seconds it dawned upon him that this was her wedding.
The comments under the post appeared to be mostly from female friends and family of Amira and read as follows:
“Wow, she looks soooo beautiful! He’s such a lucky guy!”
“Ma baby sista, u deserve to be spoilllled, mabrook habibti!!!”
“She is such an angel! He could not have asked for a better woman!”
Chase couldn’t help the smirk forming on his face.
But even he had to admit, Amira looked stunning, and judging by the wedding hall, her dress, the makeup, and the throng of women and children all decked out in nice clothing for the occasion, this was no cheap affair.
“Abdullahi must’ve really dug out his wallet for this one” Chase thought to himself.
At one point Abdullahi was holding Amira’s hand…
The same hand Chase remembered her pleasuring him with.
That expensive dress she was wearing? It was covering the same body he got to enjoy and ravage for 5 years.
The only difference being, that unlike Abdullahi, he didn’t have to spend a single penny to have his way with her.
But Abdullahi? After wedding expenses + mehr + honeymoon, he’s gonna have to bear her financial expenses for the rest of their married life.
“Pity the fool who pays full price for left-overs from another man’s half eaten free meal”, Chase muttered.
(TO BE CONTINUED IN PART 2…)
_______________________________
You see, Amira was a Muslim girl at university.
A daughter of Somali immigrants who arrived to the States in the 90’s, her father Abdi was your average immigrant taxi driver who worked 12 hour shifts a day, 7 days a week to support her and her siblings and send the rest of the money back home to support his ailing parents.
Abdi didn’t want his children to suffer the “struggles” he went through in Somalia, and so he pushed Amira to get into medical school and become a female doctor:
“I will be the first Somali man from my village who’s daughter became a doctor!” he thought to himself.
But what he didn’t realize was that her becoming a doctor would come at a hefty price.
That price being her imaan, her free mixing with kuffar men and as a result indulging in zina, her learning kufry ideas like Feminism, Dawrinism and evolution.
But hey, she’s a female doctor now at least. That in itself will get her into Jannah, according to Westernized “Muslims”.

2024.02.20 21:20 omashupicchu How would you change the discourse around the allegedly growing ideological gap between men and women?

Every time I see one of those boomer-as memes of the two cats talking with captions about why bf is reasonable and gf is nagging or unreasonable, I think to myself, is it even 2024? Is this a forward my dad got from his older brother-in-law? Are we just doomed to repeat mid-2010s era YouTube gender war nonsense?
There was “The Chart” making its rounds on Twitter about Gen Z men and women becoming politically polarized. Based on Allen Downey’s rebuttal and other reading, I personally don’t buy that there’s a growing ideological gap.
What I do notice is that the content mills of Twitter (and to a lesser extent Reddit) are working overtime to make this seem true.
You see e/acc and trad larpers accusing feminism of “lying to women” or accounts that are dedicated to posting women’s Ls, real and imagined. Then there’s the Andrew Tate wannabes that give men revolutionary advice like “lift” and “take responsibility for your actions” all bundled it into gloat-fests at women who dare to age past 30 or try to start a family later in life.
I hear some men in my life echo parts of this discourse but usually not filled with the vitriol you see online. I know that Twitter thrives on flattening nuance to farm engagement and rage but it seems worse than usual.
And yes, I’ll touch grass after posting this when I walk my dog.
Reddit isn’t always the best for this either but it at least seems more conducive to this type of conversation.
Instead of evaluating whether “men are xyz” or “women are…” I’d rather know how you’d reimagine the discourse if it came down to better understanding each other and building a better future despite our differences.
Thanks in advance, dudes of Reddit!

I posted the other day about a former classmate from my small town who has “walked away from feminism” and gone full Monat hun. I messed up and didn’t obscure her face (rule 5) so the post got taken down.
Back now with the promised caption about “walking away from feminism”, the original caption from the other day, and a few more for good measure!
Someone had mentioned the “well to woo” pipeline and I feel like that’s at least partially at play here though she’s gotten way more into God (in the Christian sense, I think?) in addition to the divine feminisms and all that.

2024.01.21 17:48 chargenmorphed Is Aurora a trans ally? 🏳️‍⚧️

Hey there, I’m a trans person from southern USA, and I’m also a huge Aurora fan. Her music has meant a lot to me over the years, and in my mind she’s a comforting, safe place. A while ago she made a post where she shared some cool pictures of one of her performances, and in one of them she had ‘Harry Potter’ on her knees with the caption ‘Important information 🩸’ or smth similar.
Now I know HP doesn’t = trans-exclusionary feminism, but as someone who’s heard Rowling talk and seen the violence her words cause, even ignoring the implications is a red flag to me. I’m unfortunately used to protecting myself in feminist communities, as I am a huge feminist but I’m not a terf. I find it really hard to believe Aurora means any harm. She’s actually for women’s rights and has done so much good. But I can’t find solace in her songs anymore, and despite it being silly how much it affects me, it hurts. I don’t live somewhere where supportive people are easy to find or even visible at all, so finding support online from others who can be vocal means so much.
She’s since deleted the post, but I’m still worried. What worries me most is she didn’t address it as far as I know. Does anyone have up-to-date info on Aurora’s stance on trans rights? Thank you ❤️
EDIT: I didn’t mean any malice. I was just afraid. But your comments here have helped me realize it’s not what I thought! Thank you everyone who helped. I feel better about my support for Aurora, and more, I feel better listening to her music. I have really bad social anxiety (diagnosed), and I don’t post much because of it. I don’t feel very good rn, so to be responsible I’m going to delete this post soon. I apologize to the mods for posting something controversial.
Since this post won’t be up much longer I just want to say that some places are worse than others for certain groups. What may seem trivial to some is an ongoing battle for others. In my state our legislature actively targets us—successfully. I hate shining a spotlight on trans people because people in power use us as pawns for their political games, and we are generally wary in public because majority opinion is very hateful. It isn’t easy to trust anyone, especially the people we put emotional investment into. I took a chance coming here. It’s a small deal to most, but it took me a lot of time to work up to this. So thank you all for the help, and thank you for humoring me. Have a good day!

2024.01.15 06:44 TerminalLucidity_ 13 Reasons Why Mr. Jaggi (Sadhguru) is a con man (part-2)

Context:

For readability, I had split my post into two. This is a direct continuation of my previous post on Mr. Jaggi which is linked here. Please read them in order because I do refer to some of my previous points.
My previous post has caused some uproar and most of the criticism seemed to be personal attacks on me and u/sunscreengirl. To all such mahatmans, I offer my humble pranams. Your comments illustrate how well Isha's practices have worked.
My intention with these posts is to bring to light practices and ideas that seem at odds with dharma. People like Mr. Jaggi have been exploiting people’s emotions and devotion using empty rhetoric. It is about time that we all gather to demand answers and justifications. Nowhere does sanatana dharma endorse blind faith, therefore I would urge you to read these posts with an open mind. May Bhagwati illumine everyone!

Reason#7: Mr. Jaggi is psuedoscintific

Solidification of mercury is perhaps one of the most important features of Mr. Jaggi’s consecration theatrics. But as usual, Mr. Jaggi hardly knows what he’s talking about. “Solidified Mercury” or Paarad which is worshiped in temples is not pure mercury. This is in direct contrast to Mr. Jaggi’s claim of 99% pure mercury (link).
Pure mercury can never be solidified at room temperature, as per chemistry. Paarad has always been Mercury Sulphide along with Galium and Silver, and the sulfur used in the process is considered to be a swaroopa of Maa Gauri. Many ancient texts talk of how the yugama of Gauri and Shiva Dhatu produce Rasa Linga. This process is extremely well documented in texts like Rasa Jala Nidhi (you can watch the actual process here). In conclusion, not only was Mr. Jaggi misrepresenting shastras he was also peddling blatant pseudo-science.
This pattern of absurd claims follows him everywhere. Mr. Jaggi claims all kinds of health benefits from Inner Engineering. He claims to cure everything from obesity to chronic psychological ailments (link). However, the purported studies he uses for making these claims are categorically dubious. The study he is citing in the video was conducted on just 9 participants! Anyone who has even an iota of familiarity with the scientific method would know that this is statistically insignificant to draw any meaningful conclusions (you can read it for yourself here). Similarly, the UChicago study he quotes was based on a survey filled out by participants during his programs. The legitimacy of the study is also contended due to the laughably small participant group (142 participants in total), lack of control group, and deliberately vague questions (you can read it here). Another factor that delegitimizes these studies is the fact that these have never been replicated. Therefore, they cannot be trusted based on basic scientific principles. Jaggi however, continues to cite these studies out of context and mischaracterizes them in his ads. Some other famous statements of his include:
  1. “Water has memory” (link), This statement is based on a now disproven paper by Dr. Masaru Emoto. This study is widely cited in the context of “Law of Attraction” which should tell you the kind of books Mr. Jaggi is intent on consuming and peddling.
  2. “Someone who is declared medically dead can still feel sensations” (link)
  3. “Quality of breast milk depends on the gender of the child” (link)
  4. “I cured my asthma and a fracture just by my yogic ability” (link)

Reason#8: Mr. Jaggi hates Elephants

Mr. Jaggi takes great pride in his “social initiatives”. But the reality of these initiates is less than grand. To begin with, these initiatives suffer from a lack of transparency. While Mr. Jaggi makes fantastical claims, he never seems to do anything more than lip service. He seems more interested in creating media spectacles than working towards any of these goals. But how can we be sure? Let’s just take up one case study.
Cauvery Calling was a much-hyped social initiative by Mr. Jaggi, but he never bothered with the legality of the initiative. The campaign started with the promise of planting 242 crore trees and started collecting money for it. However, it later turned out that the initiative was never even registered and they had been collecting the money illegally. All his other campaigns also suffer similar shortfalls. While his campaigns may not help the environment they do help him create a false image of being a social justice activist. This is another trick Mr. Jaggi borrows from figures like Asaram and Gurmeet Ram Rahim, the social projects act as an armor against his other questionable actions. They also help him have close ties with politicians.
One of the key events that brought Mr. Jaggi to the public limelight was the inauguration of the grand Adiyogi statue. However shortly after several allegations of land grab emerged. Isha has been fighting a PR battle against the petitioners. However, there is undeniable evidence of land grab in the building of the ashram. You can read more about it here. The more you read of Jaggi’s actions the more you will realize that he isn’t bothered about the environment at all. Mr. Jaggi hates elephants, although he does love money and power.

Reason#9: Mr. Jaggi has a shady family

Mr. Jaggi’s involvement in his wife’s death is no secret. Even his most vehement supporters cannot deny that his wife died in mysterious circumstances and a proper investigation was never conducted. That case has several unanswered questions and I would encourage you to read more here.
Mr. Jaggi’s family is also heavily involved in his shell companies and various other side businesses. There is coherent proof of Mr. Jaggi funneling his income into his daughter’s accounts and also of his daughter being involved in the businesses. This is in direct contradiction to how Mr. Jaggi portrays his family. If his word is to be believed his family is in no way linked to the foundation's activities. That however is not the case, you can read more about it here.

Reason#10: Mr. Jaggi is a misogynist

For this point, I will simply let Mr. Jaggi speak for himself. Just read/listen to the following statements made by him:
  1. Nobody cares how the boy is dressed but people are looking at how the girl is dressed because she is getting the attention. … because she is getting the attention she has to dress well because we are looking at her” (link)
  2. If money is the only value, male is the only value, I want you to understand this. Today, in the name of feminism, unfortunately, a whole lot of women are desperately trying to be like men. Making subtler aspects of life significant is vital for the rise of feminine.” (link)
Need I say more? Mr. Jaggi is out and out a blatant misogynist.

Reason#11: Mr. Jaggi copied from SSY

Mr. Jaggi claims that he practiced yoga from an early age and received enlightenment instantaneously at the Chamundi hills. He clearly states that it was this experience that shaped his life's work.
But then he also seems significantly inspired by Rishi Prabhakar's Siddha Samadhi Yoga. There is credible evidence that establishes this connection. Photos of Mr. Jaggi attending the teacher training program have been found along with eyewitness accounts. (I recommend reading this blog for details). The story that emerges is that for around 2-3 years Mr. Jaggi did teach SSY courses and eventually decided to shift to Coimbatore to start his organization. This raises a few important questions:
  1. If he had already found enlightenment why did he not just start his organization in the very beginning? Why did he begin teaching at an established organization first?
  2. If indeed he is independent of SSY, why are there similarities between SSY and Isha programs? If Mr. Jaggi is indeed the most knowledgeable person in these matters as is often his claim, why does he borrow anything at all from SSY?
  3. If he did find some value in his time at SSY, why not acknowledge it? If he didn't find them to be up to the mark, why not point out the mistakes in their ways?
The more you think, the more it seems obvious Mr. Jaggi stole techniques from SSY and repackaged them as Isha. This seems far removed from his claims of being an enlightened master who developed techniques based on his enlightenment.

Reason#12: Mr. Jaggi doesn’t understand yoga

The very core of Inner Engineering is "Shambhavi Mahamudra". But anyone with even elementary knowledge of yoga will point out Shambhavi is a mudra (position) and is different from kriya (technique). But such nuance seems absent from Mr. Jaggi’s rhetoric. He proudly claims to have never read Patanjali (link) and this fool hardiness shows up fairly easily. As discussed before you’d be hard-pressed to find any coherence in his talks about yoga. His idea of yoga fundamentally revolves around dimensionless claims with not much actual substance.
This might also be a good time to discuss his claims regarding Adiyogi. While Shiva is indeed the fountainhead of all wisdom, the phrase Adiyogi is miraculously absent from our scriptures. The lore Jaggi weaves around a magical yogi appearing in the upper ranges of the Himalayas to teach us yoga has no scriptural basis. The story he is popularizing cannot be accepted on historical grounds either. The development of yoga is well-documented and to contort that story is nothing short of blatant lying.

Reason#13: Mr. Jaggi is not enlightened

While all of the above reasons should be disqualifying enough, let's go a step further and examine his claim of being enlightened in the light of the scriptures. In the Kena Upanishad 2nd chapter we find that the student upon attaining the ultimate says the following:
I do not think I know well; I know too; not that I do not know. He of us who knows that knows that as also what is meant by ‘I know too; not that I do not know’.
What is implied here is that by knowing the ultimate, the arrogance of knowing the ultimate also disappears. Does Mr. Jaggi display this trait?
From the following clip, it is evident he doesn't. Many other such examples can be quoted from his books. He often dismisses arguments with the claim of knowing better. So at least in the sense that Kena Upanishad describes enlightenment, Mr. Jaggi falls flat.
Let's put his "enlightenment" to the test based on Bhagavad Gita. In the 2nd Chapter 56th Verse, Krishna says:
That monk is called a man of steady wisdom when his mind is unperturbed in sorrow, he is free from longing for delights and has gone beyond attachment, fear, and anger.
Has Mr. Jaggi transcended anger? At least not in his public interactions. When questioned by law students about his shady land deals, Mr. Jaggi threatened to file fake cases against them with the kind of smugness only seen in mafia bosses. His behavior towards questioners in general is questionable. During his public discourses, he insults and belittles the questioners. This would seem alien to anyone who grew up reading the words of sages like Ashtavakra who present the most profound insights encapsulated in absolute humility. No matter how convincing his rhetoric sounds, the closer you look at his actions the more apparent it becomes he is simply not enlightened.
In conclusion, Mr. Jaggi is no different from Asaram or Nityananda. He is simply a more sophisticated iteration of the same scam. The difference between Mr. Jaggi and a good guru can be best explained as the difference between skincare and makeup. Makeup might help you look good, but you need actual skincare to keep your skin healthy. Fake gurus have done enough damage to dharma, it is time we rise against them. Having criticized Mr. Jaggi I need to provide recommendations on some genuine gurus as well:
  1. Swami Ramsukhdas ji (hindi only)
  2. Swami Anubhavananda Saraswati ji
  3. Swami Dayanada Saraswati ji (Arsha Vidya Gurukulam one)
  4. Ramana Maharishi ji
  5. Swami Tattvavidananda Saraswati Ji
  6. Shri Rajeshwarananda Saraswati ji (hindi only)
  7. Swami Nischalanada Ji (hindi with english captions)
  8. Swami Chinmayananda ji
  9. Gopal Krishna Shastri ji (you can catch his hindi upadeshas during aarti of Maa Vaishno Devi)
  10. Swami Bodhinatha Veylanswami
Other than this I recommend reading Purans and other shastras for yourself. Some texts I recommend:
  1. Bhagwad Gita
  2. Aparoksha Anubhuti
  3. Ashtavakra Gita
  4. Ramcharitmanas
  5. Avadhoota Gita
  6. Shiva Samhita
  7. Ishwara Gita
  8. Vivekachudamani
  9. Panchadashi of Vidyaranya
  10. Ribhu Gita
  11. Durga Saptashati (also known as Chadi and Devi Mahatmaya)
  12. Devi Bhagwat
  13. Srimad Bhagwat Mahapuran
  14. Shiva Mahapuran
  15. Mahabharata
By studying from proper gurus, by reading the scriptures I hope everyone will progress spiritually. May Bhagwati bless you!
Jai Maa!

Imagine if the roles were reversed in this comment...
Found under an instagram post with the caption: The \"I hate men\" girlies are the biggest lovers don't be fooled
It's so sad to see how common hatred against men is in social media and how seemingly no one seems to care. Even men like in this example accept it and try to rationalise it. Most of the other comments were terrible aswell of course... but this one right here really stuck out to me and made me really sad...
I try everything in my power to get this toxic feminism sh..t off of my feed but it just won't go away. Maybe I should just deinstall instagram because stuff like this is getting too common and it's not good for my mental health.

2023.12.28 20:56 luminousmoon6 Revisiting the feminist situation in South Korea

There were maybe one or two posts on this subreddit discussing the situation in South Korea where a vast majority of Koreans have negative attitudes towards feminism. All of the western media outlets essentially spewed propaganda framing it on men being uncomfortable with losing their power in society and none of them seemed to be informed about the Korean political climate. Using these statistics however is a bad way to support such a claim, as Claudia Goldin's work has shown us that disdain towards the feminist movement is not the same as disagreement over women's competency and advocating for civil rights for women, which has overwhelming support from both men and women. Support for feminism has always trended fairly low, so it clearly must be for other reasons. None the less every western news outlet spun the same story painting Korean men as misogynists, as there can be no other reason one can dislike and take issue with the feminist movement. I found it extremely difficult to research this topic from the perspective of South Koreans due to the propaganda and seeing as I am not a Korean speaker, but I nonetheless attempted to and what I found was night and day compared to how western media outlets covered it.
I found this article that criticized radical feminists and their overt hostile misandry. The article frames things from a left-wing Marxist perspective:
https://wspaper-org.translate.goog/article/22546?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-US&_x_tr_pto=wapp
original link: https://wspaper.org/article/22546
It's a long article but well worth the read. The article outlines publications centered around analyzing the situation in Korea and outlines the ways in which radical feminists have been antagonistic and regressive, going over how MeToo has affected the country and criticizing many of the cases that were brought forward as having been false accusations. For example there was a situation where two men had allegedly attacked a woman for removing her corset. This turned out to be false as it was revealed that the woman had approached the two men and called them a '한남 커플' which I'm not sure what it means exactly but I think it might be equivalent to saying something like a "fuckboy couple". This is what instigated a conflict between them, rather than an act of two men exhibiting patriarchal control with claims of police arriving late despite that also not being the case. There was also a case in which a Womad member was arrested in Australia for posting a sexual harassment post targeting male children. Another case that is mentioned involved unsubstantiated claims of teacher abuse towards a student that led to the teacher committing suicide. All of these incidents are dismissed to instead push the narrative that men simply don't like the idea of giving up their patriarchal privilege. There are apparently more cases outlined in the books reviewed in the article, however I am not able to get a hold of any of them as they are only available in Korea.
The article then examines Marxist analyses of oppression and makes similar arguments to the ones expressed on this subreddit about both men and women being disadvantaged under a capitalist system and how it doesn't make sense to scapegoat men for society's problems as both genders are subjected to class struggle. They talk about bad faith arguments made relating to the wage gap and how lower class men do not benefit from the privileges of the wealthy elite. Overall I do not think a right wing government is the answer to the issues facing South Korea, but they are still extremely severe and the harm caused by feminist ideology should be pointed out, as scapegoating men in their 20's for being angry and bitter towards women wont solve any issues women face and will in fact fuel oppressive attitudes towards men.
The author of one of the books reviewed in the article has a YouTube channel worth checking out that has captions that can be auto-translated as well as a website that can be translated as well into English which can give valuable insight into the political climate of South Korea.
