2024.06.01 15:28 LovecraftianKing I've read everything I could find. Everything. I need some new recommendations, please!

Below, I am posting the list of everything I've read in the last few years, organized by author. Please, help me find something new. An author I don't know, a fresh take on an established subgenre, an exceptionally well written piece, something I just missed somehow, or a unique story/perspective I haven't seen yet. I've been on a bit of a sci fi kick lately and want to come back to horror. I'm currently reading Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons and Fairy Tale by Stephen King. Should be done with both pretty soon. Your recommendations will be added to my queue! Thank you in advance!

2024.06.01 10:48 adulting4kids Eight Days Until New Year's Day

  1. Develop a New Year's narrative set in a futuristic metropolis, where your character stumbles upon a virtual reality experience that allows them to revisit and rewrite key moments from the past year, exploring themes of redemption and personal growth.
  2. Craft a story where your character, during a New Year's celebration in a mystical forest, encounters a sentient tree that imparts wisdom and guidance, leading to a year-long journey of environmental stewardship and personal enlightenment.
  3. Create a New Year's Eve tale in a world where time is a tangible entity, and your character discovers a temporal anomaly that allows them to revisit pivotal moments from the past, prompting reflection, healing, and the pursuit of unfulfilled aspirations.
  4. Set a narrative during a New Year's festival in a realm of floating islands, where your character, guided by ancient prophecy, embarks on a skyward quest to restore balance, encountering challenges and forging alliances that redefine their destiny.
  5. Develop a story where your character, attending a New Year's gala at a futuristic space station, stumbles upon a holographic display that reveals the interconnectedness of lives across the galaxy, inspiring them to undertake a year-long mission of interstellar unity and understanding.
  6. Craft a New Year's Eve tale where your protagonist, while participating in a time-honored lantern release ceremony, witnesses their lantern taking an unexpected flight into the cosmos, setting the stage for a celestial journey of self-discovery and transformation.
  7. Create a story set in a New Year's carnival, where your character encounters a mysterious fortune teller's tent that reveals symbolic visions of their future, leading to a quest to decipher the hidden meanings and shape their destiny.
  8. Develop a New Year's narrative where your character, attending a celebration in a mystical library, stumbles upon a magical book that transports them into the stories of their ancestors, offering insights into heritage, legacy, and a year of cultural exploration.

2024.06.01 03:33 Decayedglory [FNV] Question about Viva New Vegas and other mods compatibility

Forgot the tag first post and got instanuked, whoops.
Hey all, first time modder here going through the rocket science crash course that is modding New Vegas. I've installed wabbajack/MO2 and viva new vegas, so far so simple. Sick.
Now comes the part where I start confusing myself. I have a list of other mods I'm interested in, and want to know what can or can't be used together. From what I've looked up there's some issues with some of the cosmetic mods but they should be able to be patched together. That said, with some links, guides or mods being a decade old I'm struggling to find updated information or understand which versions or patches of what mods I should use, if I should use them at all. Alongside Viva New Vegas, here are the mods I'd like to implement:
Fallout Character Overhaul AKA FCO
More Perks
EVE - Essential Visual Enhancements
Beauty Pack PLUS -Project Mikoto- Hair - Eyes - Presets
Any help on figuring out what patches or fixes might be needed prior to loading these in would be helpful so I could save myself a headache and hassle with my inexperience. If someone happens to know how to pop all of these into a mod pack that's ready to rock that'd be outstanding, but obviously not a necessity or obligation if I can easily get a patch or fix in.

Don’t forget to claim your codes!
I just thought it would be kind to remind folks about this/ inform others who didn’t know this was a thing. (I found out late after returning from my 1 1/2 year CRK hiatus) here’s a code that dropped a couple of days ago👇🏻
UPDATEFIRSTCREAM
Here is the link if you don’t have it pinned like I do (I need a new hobby😭) The info blocked out in green is what you’ll need to put in for your dev play account (correct me if I am wrong)

2024.05.31 19:40 reviewedexperts We tested 12 self-tanners and one was immaculate

We tested 12 self-tanners and one was immaculate
We tested 12 of the best self-tanners and have some immediate favorites. While three ended up receiving our Editors’ Choice awards, only one came back from testing with an immaculate score.
https://preview.redd.it/1kasxp2nss3d1.jpg?width=972&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99f7e4db4b747ce354f4e5744600b2266e9392ca
Everything we recommend has been independently tested and recommended based on that testing. Our links may earn us commission to help us continue to test and recommend products.

Editors’ Choice self-tanners

The Bali Body Self Tanning Mousse won our Best Overall spot for its smooth application, natural-looking tan, and non-blotchy fading.
Bali Body Self Tanning Mousse
This was all “pro" and no “con" when we tested it, and we consider Bali Body Self Tanning Mousse to be the best overall self-tanner. It checked all the boxes, from being easy to apply to having long-lasting effects. The tan color is beautiful and, when it started to fade, it faded evenly.
Our tester was impressed with Bali Body’s “color guard” feature, which gives a gentle tint to skin where it’s been applied. It comes in two shades and you have extra control by choosing how long to leave the solution on.
Buy it at ULTA Beauty
___
The L’Oréal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Mousse is our Best Value pick because it offers a smooth application and natural-looking color at a fraction of the price of the Best Overall.
L'Oréal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Water Mousse
We look at L'Oréal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Water Mousse as the best value we’ve seen. The only reason it doesn’t share a top spot with Bali Body is because it doesn’t have the same color guard feature to help guide us in applying it evenly. The tan from this is kind of understated, which is helpful to know because it’s only available in one tone.
We did notice the tan looked a bit blotchy when developing, but the next day it had cleaned up and was much more natural-looking.
Buy it at Amazon
___
The Clarins Self-Tanning Instant Gel earned a Best for Beginner spot because of its easy-to-apply gel formula and subtle color.
Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel
Clarins turned out to be our favorite self-tanner for beginners. The application process is about as simple as it gets, it’s forgiving on the skin, and it fades evenly. The texture feels much like a body lotion and application happens fast enough that you don’t need a protective mitt or a backdrop of experience to do a good job at applying.
The aroma is something to call out, too. It’s floral and enjoyable.
The instructions guide you to wait until it dries, but it still felt somewhat tacky after 30 minutes. We’d recommend waiting a bit longer before touching any of your clothes to it.
Buy it at CLARINS

Self-tanner honorable mentions

Two other self-tanners we tested ended up on our top-five list, but had some minor drawbacks:
The Coco & Eve Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing Self Tanner Mousse earned our Best Shade Range spot for its decent shade range.
Coco & Eve Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing Foam
  • Pros: Great tan color, long-lasting, and fades evenly.
  • Cons: The scent is very strong.

___
The St. Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse earned our Best Scent spot for its pleasant, floral fragrance.
St. Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse
  • Pros: Gives you a natural-looking tan color, coats evenly in hard-to-reach areas, and has a great scent.
  • Cons: The shade range is limited.

Other self-tanners we tested

We tested 12 separate self-tanners as a part of this process. The other tanning options we spent time with were:
Read more on our site if you’d like an in-depth look at each of these.

How we test self-tanners

The author's arm with swatches of the Clarins (left), L'Oréal (center), and Bali Body (right) self-tanners.
Jessica, a former beauty editor at Reviewed, has tested everything from skincare and makeup products to hair and beauty. When testing self-tanner products, she started by picking which to test, opting for the 12 products ranked highest by customer reviews.
After that, Jessica did small application tests. For those, she applied products to her legs—specifically, one product per leg. She waited until they faded enough for the application of a new product and worked her way through all 12.
The four top-performing self-tanners then went on to full-body tests. For those tests, Jessica followed a rubric created by Reviewed’s laboratory team of scientists. That rubric assigned weighted scores for each product's:
  • Shade range
  • Application experience
  • Wear quality
  • Longevity
  • Scent
  • Staining of clothes and bedding

2024.05.31 17:00 The_Way358 Essential Teachings: Biblical Hamartiology

Introduction

Hamartiology is the branch of theology that has to do with the study of sin. Hamartiology deals with how sin originated, how it affects humanity, and what it results in both before and after death. The most popular view or position within hamartiology in general is Augustinianism, with its doctrine of "Original Sin" to be more specific.
The doctrine of Original Sin is one of the most damaging lies ever inflicted on the human race. Developed by Tertullian and popularized by Augustine, Original Sin says we all inherited a sinful nature from Adam.
There is no question that sinners have a sinful 'nature' (character) and that they all need to be saved from sin, but Augustine went further. He said humans are born corrupt, and that we inherited a rebellious streak from our forefather Adam.
Original Sin teaches that you were born spiritually dead and rebellious at heart. From the moment you drew your first breath, you were inclined towards sin, utterly depraved, and hostile towards God.
But is this actually Biblical?
This is what we'll be focusing on in this post. We will be discussing what Adam's sin was, what it wasn't, and what the consequences of that sin actually were.

Expulsion from Paradise

All are born with the weakness of the flesh. This is often called the "sin nature." We prefer the term weak flesh, because that's what Jesus says, and Paul emphasizes:
"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”-Matthew 26:41
"But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness."-Romans 6:17-19
Our flesh is weak. The flesh has within it desires that if followed, can lead one to sin. Not all desires, however, are sinful. The flesh pushes us to eat in order to survive, but this is not sinful. However, we can desire food so much we become gluttonous, for example.
We also learn that the desires of the flesh are of the world, not of God:
"For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."-1 John 2:16
Where do we get these desires? They are not from God, but of the “world”.
We have three things here:
  1. The lust of the flesh
Lust here is the same in word for both and is epithumia. Depending on the context, it can be used to describe good or bad desire. In a negative context, it is desire or craving what is forbidden. In this instance, it is desires that come from within our body of flesh. For example, the desire to be touched. This itself again is not sinful, but it can lead to a sinful sexual desire. The same goes with our desire to eat as explained earlier. Paul says in Galatians 5:16, “Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” These desires are of the world and of self, as James says: “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed” (Jam. 1:14).
  1. The lust of the eyes
This would be looking upon something that is forbidden and desiring it. This can be both literal (physically viewing something with your eyes), or metaphorically in looking upon something that you know in your mind is forbidden. Jesus said, “And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire” (Matt. 18:9)
  1. The pride of life
This translation is acceptable, but misses the core of the issue. The word for pride is alazoneia, and means an insolent and empty assurance, which trusts in its own power and resources and shamefully despises and violates divine laws. The word for life is bios, and means life, or one’s own life. So to be more precise, this is one that is boasting, or trusting in one’s own life. We learn in Jeremiah 17:5, that “Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.” When we trust in man, or ourselves, we are boasting in self and not in God. We are relying on, and looking for ways to rely on our own strength and power.
These three things are the pathway that leads to all sin. If we follow these harmful desires versus following God, we sin (Jam. 1:14-16).
"Are these things a result of the fall? Did Adam and Eve have these things when they were created?"
"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat."-Genesis 3:6
The serpent persuaded Eve to appeal and trust in herself instead of God:
God makes it very clear that even our first parents had to contend with the choice that is before all of us: we must either trust in God and walk by faith, or reject God and trust in ourselves and walk by the flesh.
Every one of these desires can be good. One can desire food because you need it to live and survive. One can also admire beauty, particularly in giving glory to God’s creation, and giving glory to your spouse. One can also pursue the wisdom of God, knowing that it doesn’t come from self, but from Him. Pursue His wisdom in order to live.
As Paul says in Romans 6:19, “ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity”. This is a choice on our part. The desires are there, but when we indulge the desire and elevate it above all else, that leads to sin.
"But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Do not err, my beloved brethren."-James 1:14-16
We are made in God's image and likeness. While we do have a body that has within it desires that can lead to sin, we also have God’s law on our hearts, and a conscience, to teach us the way we should go. When we pursue the desires of the flesh, it leads to sinful self-indulgence (Matt. 23:25, Col. 2:23, 2 Pet. 2:10)
"For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting."-Galatians 6:8
Someone who chooses to follow the desires of their flesh is the one that sins. This leads to corruption and can lead to judgement and the second death, which is spiritual.
As Deuteronomy 30:19 says, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”
Now, what does this mean? Let's look at Jeremiah again to elaborate on God's words:
"Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. [...] Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is."-Jeremiah 17:5, 7
This is the big picture in life. Either follow your flesh, or follow the Spirit who is there to lead us to eternal life, by witnessing and calling us to repent and trust in the Lord.
"Don't we have it worse than Adam and Eve?"
Yes, we do have it "worse" than our first parents. We have to contend with the entire fallen world now, not the wonderful Eden that they walked in and where they didn't have to work in order to survive. They walked with God. They had a garden to eat from. They did not live in a harsh environment. They had access to the Tree of Life, and no sickness or death. We lost all these things, and because of this, we have more temptations.
They also didn't have the knowledge of good and evil like we do (it appears), since that was a result of eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Thus, they fully knew it was good to follow what the Lord said and evil not to follow it, but they had an innocence that was unique (much like an infant).
We now have to work to survive and to live, and in that sense, everything "we" want and need becomes something that we can indulge in and is thus a temptation. We understand good and evil, and when you think about "coveting" (to desire something forbidden), we deal with that all the time, because we know everything morally that God considers forbidden. We deal with so many more things that are "the lust of the flesh" and the "lust of the eyes" and "the pride of life". They had one thing that was "forbidden", one "temptation", and we live in a world that appeals to every every kind of lust in so many more ways.
They had access to the Tree of Life and would have lived forever, but we lost that too, and now deal with sickness and death, and we again chase after ways to make our own fleshly lives easier.
Put simply, the consequences of Adam and Eve's sin are as follows:
1) Adam and Eve died spiritually, cut off from God
2) The ground was cursed
3) Adam's burden of work was increased
4) The pain of child birth for Eve increased
5) Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden, cut off from the Tree of Life
Notice how nothing in the account of events pertaining to Adam and Eve's rebellion in the Garden of Eden even remotely suggests that we are now all born personally guilty of our forefather's sin, or that we all have a "sin nature" as a result or consequence of that sin. The only way to reach the conclusions put forth in the doctrine of Original Sin is to assume that consequence #1 here ("Adam and Eve died spiritually, cut off from God") necessarily applies to ALL humans. This man-made doctrine conflates the general and physical (fleshly) consequences we all of course experience as a result of Adam and Eve's sin with the individual and spiritual consequence that THEY experienced for their OWN actions. Such a conflation and assumption is not actually justified, as we'll soon see.
Each succeeding generation of Adam and Eve are born as mortal, responsible to God for their own choice to be righteous or wicked. Cain and Abel prove this beyond any shadow of a doubt, as they were both born after "the fall." Both were fully able to obey God within the capacity of their free will. Abel chose to offer God a more acceptable sacrifice, attaining witness that his deeds were righteous (Heb 11:4), while his brother Cain chose to do evil after God gave him the opportunity to turn and do what was right. God told him: "If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him" (Gen. 4:7). The fact that he was told he could "rule over him [sin]" PROVES he had the ability and will to do so.
It would be unreasonable for God to command the impossible. Further, if sin cannot be avoided, it would be unjust to be punished for any sin. Think about it. Do you condemn the lion who must hunt and consume meat to survive, because it is in their nature to be carnivorous? Of course not. So why would you condemn a man for simply acting according to his "nature" which, according to Augustine, every man after Adam has been born with? One might argue that this isn't a good analogy, since most people would agree that animals cannot be held morally responsible for anything, since they're simply acting on instinct. But that's the point, isn't it? If we're all ultimately acting on instinct, then Original Sin would make us no different than the animals.
Most "Christians" would agree that it would be unjust for any person to be blamed for another's actions, and therefore disagree with Augustine on this point of his doctrine, but these same people never go far enough in rejecting his idea of Original Sin altogether. Instead, many will still agree with him that every human after Adam has at least inherited a corrupt and sinful nature from birth due to his sin. Yet, logic demonstrates to us that to even punish someone for acting in accordance with the nature that they were born with would also be unjust, and simply be another form of condemning a person for another person's actions, since people would be punished for a nature that was chosen for them by another man's (in this case, Adam's) sin!
But God refutes Augustinian justice over and over again, with the most explicit refutation being the entire 18th chapter of the Book of Ezekiel. This whole chapter is devoted to serving as a refutation from God that this was His idea of justice, as a similar idea to Augustine's was actually going around in Ezekiel's day. Israelites who believed similarly to Augustine were effectively accusing God of injustice by arguing that innocent children inherit the punishments of wicked fathers. God said that this wasn't true, and it STILL isn't true. Read the chapter for yourself if you don't believe me.
Sin cannot be passed from one generation to another as an inherited substance within, but the physical consequences of it can indeed be visited on future generations (Num. 14:18), as was the case with Adam. This can also be seen in the example of an alcoholic and abusive father passing on the destructive effects of his sin to children and family members. You reap what you sow and the sins of one person can bring much calamity to future generations.
Original Sin negates the whole idea of repentance if true. If man is born with a corrupted nature inherited from Adam, then his sin is a malady, like a genetic disease. How can he thus repent of a "nature," or malady, dwelling inside him? He can't, as it's absolutely impossible to rule over something he has no control over, or that occurred by the mere fact he was born.
The fact of the matter is we are different from the animals. We were created in the image of God and have been granted conscience and reason to determine right from wrong, and the ability to carry out righteousness.
Some have used Ephesians 2:3 as a Scriptural basis for Original Sin, which says:
"Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others."
The word “nature” in this text has nothing at all to do with what man is by birth. The word nature here refers to the “character” of contemporary sinners before they were converted.
The word “nature” can be used in two distinct senses. It may refer to what man is involuntarily because of his birth, or it may refer to what man is voluntarily, by choice and apart from birth. The apostle Paul uses it in the latter sense in the text under consideration. They were not children of wrath by birth. They were children of wrath because of voluntary wickedness. This is evident from the context of Ephesians 2:3. The context shows that Paul did not have his eye on their birth at all when he used the word "nature." On the contrary, he had his eye wholly on the conduct of contemporary sinners before they were converted. He calls attention in verses one and two to the fact that, before their conversion, they had “walked according to the course of this world,” in “trespasses and sins.” In verse three, he calls attention to their former fellowship with other sinners in fulfilling the “lusts of [the] flesh” and “the desires of the flesh and of the mind.” And then, summing up the wickedness, the guilt, and the deserved punishment of their former life, he says “and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”
Adam and Eve had two natures, yet we know that they were not “created” with two natures. They had the nature they were created with, which was good and upright (Gen. 1:27, Ecc. 7:29), and they also had a sinful nature after they had sinned. It was this last nature, a “voluntary” nature, which made them “by nature the children of wrath.”
Men may have a “nature” in three distinct ways:
1) By Birth – This is the good and upright nature with which we are all created (Gen. 1:26-27; Ecc. 7:29).
2) By Having Sinned And Come Short Of The Glory Of God (Rom. 3:23) – This is a “voluntary nature” (Josh. 24:15, 1 Kin. 18:21, Matt. 6:24). It is the nature that makes us enemies of God, and “by nature the children of wrath” (Eph. 2:3).
3) By Being Born Again (John 3:3) – This is also a “voluntary” nature in which we, by faith, become “partakers of the divine nature” (2 Pet. 1:4). In order for a child of God to “maintain” that “divine nature”, he (or she) must “voluntarily” and “continuously” be “transformed” and “renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him” (Rom. 12:2, Col. 3:10).
The word “nature” in the Bible, when it refers to our birth, never refers to a “sinful nature." This is shown in Romans 2:14, which says, “For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law [...]”. Now the word “nature” in this text does refer to the nature we receive at birth. But it is evident that the word nature used here is not a “sinful nature." For how would a sinful nature ever cause a Gentile to “do by nature the things contained in the law”? A sinful nature would not cause them to do the things contained in the Law. A sinful nature would only cause them to commit sin! Read Romans 1:26-27, 2:14-15 and 1st Corinthians 11:14. These passages show that our “nature” teaches us the differences between right and wrong, but never “causes” us to do the wrong.
Animals were made to live by instinct, but man was created to govern over his instincts, keeping them within the bounds of moral restraints. When man's desires rule over him, he is governed by emotions and uses his body (flesh) as a vehicle of self-indulgence. He then becomes like a "brute beast" (2 Pet 2:12), carousing in the world with eyes full of adultery that cannot cease from sin, and a heart trained (exercised) in covetousness. As a child, man must be taught to govern his emotions, led by example and discipline, not because "the nature is corrupt," but because the common flow of influence is bent toward self-indulgence! He will naturally follow the "tradition [of his] fathers" (1 Pet. 1:17-20); and due to the fact that we are born into an environment in which the lust of flesh, eyes, and pride of life have overtaken almost every realm and facet of our existence, there is very little (if any) godly influences to guide us into a life of purity and righteousness.
Therefore, we can logically conclude that man is born into a state of neutrality, innocent of any crime against God, having no knowledge of right and wrong. The "light" of conscience is born within him (John 1:9), but through the process of time and growth, every person reaches a maturity of understanding and must make a conscious choice between right or wrong. Since sin is not what you are, but what you do (1 John 3:4), the act of wrong-doing in violation of your conscience captivates your soul into a state of self-indulgence in which you serve your base instincts (desires-lusts) and are given over to a reprobate mind and a bondage to sin (John 8:34).
This is why the Bible says: "The soul that sinneth, it shall die" (Ezk. 18:20a), not death as in cessation of this present life (as all men pass away and die; Heb. 9:23) but death spiritually, as in the light of conscience connected to God is extinguished, no longer accusing wrong doing, but excusing it as natural conduct (Rom. 1:26; 2:15), consequently becoming "by nature [a child] of wrath" (Eph. 2:3). However, in this 'dead' state, man is still walking around with the flesh, fully able to make rational choices according to logic and reason, but preferring addiction to lustful habits that enflame the passions of the flesh.
If you understand that sin is a deliberate act of the will to disobey God, as clearly shown in the Book of Genesis, you also understand what made man a sinner: not his "nature," but his choice to follow the example of wrong doing in a long line of wrong doers. Adam and Eve's child-like dependence on the Lord supports a child's knowledge of, and desire, to live by their father's will. So even prior to awareness of an existence in separation from God, the light they were given was sufficient for guidance to eat from all the trees of the garden, but abstain from eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Eve no doubt may have been taken advantage of, but Adam was not deceived and therefore held responsible for the consequences of sin entering into the world. He sinned against his knowledge of the truth. Therefore in the time of temptation he chose to love darkness rather than light.
"Is sin all inclusive to mankind?"
No. Many sinned by their own volition, making sin wide-ranging and extensive among the human race, but sin itself is not all inclusive because there is still a choice to be made. And again in Genesis we find that this is true in the righteous line of Seth, Enoch and Noah, who are not numbered among the sinners, but the saints, because they freely chose to seek God and not commit sin (even in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation).
Mistakes, faults of character, errors of judgment, and lack of knowledge; these kind of stumblings DO NOT HAVE CONSENT OF OUR CONSCIENCE. Logically it is impossible to make a "willful mistake," or to "willfully continue in a fault of character," or to "willfully make an error of judgment" based on incomplete knowledge. Therefore, because these three things do not have consent of our conscience, they are not willful sins unto death. The apostle John says that "there is a sin not unto to death" (1 John 5:17). These are probably sins that do not have consent of our conscience.
When God gave His Law to the Israelites, He included special instructions about sacrifices when a person, or the entire nation, sinned in ignorance (Heb. 9:7). Leviticus 4 outlines God’s provision for those who sinned unintentionally or in ignorance. Numbers 15:22-29 restates this provision and gives details about the special sacrifices required to obtain forgiveness from the Lord when someone sinned in ignorance. Since Jesus came, there is now no need of animal sacrifices; Jesus is our advocate before the Father, interceding for us as our High Priest whenever we as believers sin in ignorance or without consent of our conscience in general. In any case, we are all still called to pray for our brethren if we believe that they have sinned a sin not unto death (Gal. 6:1, 1 John 5:16-17).
Some will misinterpret Romans 3 as teaching that sin is in fact all inclusive, and thus "all have sinned." However, context dictates that this passage and the whole letter itself is specifically meant to address the rebellious nation of Israel and the Gentiles among them in their day. What Paul says in most of Romans applies to nations, not every particular individual who has lived on earth. Even Jesus said: "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance" (Luke 5:32). Paul is shown to be consistent with Jesus when he states: "Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come" (Rom. 5:14).

"Why Jesus?"

Now the obvious question remains: "If man did not inherit a sinful nature from Adam and is not born dead in his sins, why does he need a Saviour?"
As we've seen, people always had the ability to choose the righteous thing in each circumstance, and so therefore it was theoretically possible (though rare) to live a sinless life in the Old Testament. However, through no fault of their own, righteous men still experienced physical death for the calamities and physical consequences brought on and into the world by Adam's sin. Scripture says the final enemy was death (1 Cor. 15:26), and clearly physical death would still need to be defeated by a Saviour if the righteous saints who came before were to be rewarded for their righteousness at the eschaton.
The Book of Hebrews says:
"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." (2:14-15)
This passage reveals to us that man, since his expulsion from the Garden of Eden (and thus, lacking of access to the Tree of Life), has been "subject to bondage" to the evil heavenly powers through their wielding of death as a weapon to threaten those who would sacrifice righteousness for the sake of self-preservation. If you think about it, this makes a lot of sense. The best way to tempt the people of God is to threaten them with death for disobeying the temptation to sin. Thankfully, Jesus destroyed the works of the evil heavenly powers by obeying God unto death, therefore freeing men from their bondage to sin and death itself by taking the evil heavenly powers' legal claim over them out of the way.
Now, when confronted with all this, one will inevitably reason within himself and ask: "If there were people who lived without ever having wilfully sinned before Jesus, then why didn't God just send any of those people to be our Saviour instead of forcing us to wait until Jesus would come?"
This is the point at which one should begin to realize the great significance of the virgin birth. The traditional explanation for it is that a virgin birth meant Jesus was unstained by Adam’s sin. Since he did not have a natural father, he did not inherit Adam’s sinful nature. This is an oft-repeated explanation, but one that is not found in Scripture.
The true significance of the virgin birth is that Jesus was not born into Adam’s enslaved family, and only a free man can ransom a slave.
Adam’s sin put humanity on death row. Romans chapter 5 calls it living under the condemnation of sin and death. But Jesus was not of Adam’s line. He was born outside the prison.
On numerous occasions, Jesus told his disciples that he was not from earth but had come from heaven: “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me” (John 6:38). It’s like he was saying, “I’m not a prisoner. I have come from outside to set you free.”
Since Jesus is not of Adam’s line, he’s not subject to the law of death. Death can’t take him. The only way Jesus could go to the cross and die on our behalf was if he chose to.
Throughout history many pseudo-saviours have come promising freedom and most, if not, all of them were a slave to sin. They couldn’t save anyone. If you are redeemed by a slave, that slave’s master becomes your master. Even if one was truly righteous, the curse of death hung over every man born of Adam and therefore it would take someone on the outside to even break this curse for us.
Moses the deliverer shows us how this works. Moses was a type of Christ because he was the only Hebrew not owned by Pharaoh. Moses was a free man used by God to liberate a nation of slaves.
Similarly, Jesus is the only human who wasn’t a slave both to sin and death, which makes him an ideal Saviour. When you’re locked up inside, you need help from outside, and Jesus is the definition of outside help.
"None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption. For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others."-Psalm 49:7-10
Jesus becomes our brother when we choose to be born again, and thus become sons of God and "born from above" as he was.
"And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world."-John 8:23
"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."-John 3:3-21
"While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother."-Matthew 12:46-50

Conclusion

To summarize: Man was created in the image of God to enjoy His fellowship and to fulfill His will on the earth as His steward. Man was created in innocence; but by voluntary transgression, the first man, Adam, fell into sin. As a result, the whole race was plunged into a world of disorder and death, forced to leave the peace and life that was meant for us in Eden. Humans are born innocent, but when a person grows old enough to discern between good and evil, that person can then choose to either obey or disobey their God-given conscience. A person's conscience becomes defiled when they choose disobedience, creating separation between them and God and a bondage to sin. From this condition of separation and bondage, man can be redeemed and liberated through trust in Christ's atoning sacrifice and faithful obedience to the Father (Gen. 1:26-27; 2:17; 3:6, 13-15; Ecc. 7:29; Isa. 7:15-16; Ezek. 18; Rom. 3:24-26; 5:12-19; 6:1–8:13).
We ought to reject any notion that all humans are personally guilty of what our forefather did, or that any human born after him is born with a "sinful nature" as a result of his sin. Each individual is only responsible for his or her own actions. We ought to uphold Biblical free will, as opposed to any and all forms of Augustinianism.
"Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him."-Acts 10:34-35

2024.05.31 15:07 detcholmes A Symbolic Representation of Eternal Marriage

A Symbolic Representation of Eternal Marriage
You may have seen some of my stuff in the past, but in my studies recently I have focused on the doctrine of eternal marriage, so I decided to do a heavily symbolic depiction in the style of some of my favourite alchemical and mystic artists. Full description of symbols below. Unlabeled version at the bottom. You can find me on Instagram @ library_of_godwin . I always appreciate followers and shares :)
https://preview.redd.it/i6eabgfbgr3d1.png?width=583&format=png&auto=webp&s=fd6f61ee3c09f62790aeb8608216527e2d2cce68
AN ETERNAL MARRIAGE
A. The Throne of God—The dwelling place of God the Father and the realm of exaltation, into which those who have entered into the covenant of Eternal Marriage shall “pass by the angels, and the gods, which are set there, to their exaltation and glory in all things…which glory shall be a fullness and a continuation of the seeds forever and ever” (Doctrine and Covenants 132:19).
B. The Masculine Sun—In many cultures the sun represents the divine masculine energy, which is dominant, aggressive, piercing, indomitable, and illuminating.
C. The Feminine Moon—Across time and culture the moon represents the divine feminine: receptive, cyclical, gentle, persuasive, guiding.
D. The Holy Spirit of Promise—For an ordinance to be sealed on both sides of the veil, the ordinance must be “entered into and sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise” (Doctrine and Covenants 132:7). This Spirit knows the genuine intentions and purity of the heart.
E. The Crowns of Glory—A man and a woman who have made and kept the sacred covenants of the temple are anointed to become a King and a Queen in the hereafter. Their inheritance is a promised “crown of eternal life” (Doctrine and Covenants 20:14).
F. The Mountain of the Lord—The place where heaven and earth meet so that man might commune with God. Here the sacred rites are performed under due priesthood authority. The holy temple is the Mountain of the Lord (Isaiah 2:3).
G. Man—Adam is the prototypical man, made in the image of God the Father and born with the spark of divinity within. He possesses a sacred duty to act on God’s behalf in service to his fellow men. His is a sacred duty to establish and rear up a family in love and righteousness, honouring his wife and caring for his children. He cannot reach his divine potential without being bound for time and eternity to a woman, his wife.
H. Woman—Eve is the prototypical woman, created in the image of Heavenly Mother and born with the spark of divinity within. Hers is a sacred duty to bring forth souls into the world and to nourish them body and spirit. She cannot reach her divine potential without being bound for time and eternity to a man, her husband.
I. The Sealing Keys—The power to bind on Earth and in Heaven is reserved to those who hold the priesthood keys, the operative power of God entrusted to man (Helaman 10:7; Doctrine and Covenants 132:46).
J. The Fruits of Labour—In his natural role as provider, the man must suffer “by the sweat of [his] face” (Moses 4:25) in order to sustain and lead his family. He is expected to work and to sacrifice his time and energy so that his family might flourish.
K. The Fruits of Nurture—In her natural role as nurturer, the woman is like the tree, giving of her fruit and limbs and shade to provide comfort and sustenance to her family. In this way she brings up her children in a nurturing embrace.
L. The Sacrificial Altar—Jesus Christ is the ultimate sacrifice, and it is only upon this sacrifice that man and woman can be redeemed from the fall and hope to attain eternal life through faithfulness to His Gospel. All ordinances are conducted over the altar of His atoning sacrifice (Isaiah 53:7; Revelation 5:12).
M. The Promise of Posterity—As spoken to Abraham, God promises that “I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven” (Genesis 22:17). All who maintain the Abrahamic Covenant faithfully and righteously will be blessed with a continuous posterity below their feet.

2024.05.31 15:01 PLUTO_HAS_COME_BACK Vibhajjavada and Sarvāstivāda—Part 12: Sarvāstivādi Śūnyavāda

Vibhajjavada and Sarvāstivāda: Analysing the Heart Sutra from Theravadin Perspective—Part 12

5.1.8. Śūnyavāda

Śūnyavāda and Māyāvāda are two parts of Sarvāstivādi creationism and eternalism. Maya is the form (flesh and blood) and mind (Emptiness/Śūnya) is the External/Outside Agent in the form.
[Heart (Red; page 6-7)]: Avalokiteshvara lists the major conceptual categories of the Sarvastivadin Abhidharma and considers each in the light of Prajnaparamita [...] Avalokiteshvara reviews the major signposts near the end of the path without introducing additional conceptual categories that might obstruct or deter those who would travel it.
The Sarvāstivādi Lankavatara Sutra is the backbone of Mahayana, which was brought to China by Bodhidharma. The sutras that contradict Lankavatara is herectical. However, for some reasons, the Mahayanists did not stop producing new sutras, which might or might not agree with Lankavatara.

Śūnyavāda

The Lankavatara Sutra demonstrates both Sarvāstivādi Śūnyavāda and Māyāvāda. It presents seven types of Emptiness, including the Emptiness of self-nature [Svabhāva-Śūnya], with very brief explanations that are insufficient to understand these concepts. They are too brief to understand the meaning and intention of "all of the five Skandhas are equally empty" and "form is emptiness, emptiness is form." That has left the Mahayanist scholars in disagreement and argument.

Citta-matrata:

[Lanka Chapter 3:] emptiness of self-nature is meant that all things in their self-nature are un-born; therefore, it is said that things are empty as to self-nature [...] When it is recognized that the world as it presents itself is no more than a manifestation of mind, then birth is seen as no-birth,

Seven Kinds of Emptiness

The Mahayanists present "Sixteen Kinds of Emptiness", "Eighteen Kinds of Emptiness within Four Kinds of Emptiness", "Sixteen kinds of emptiness", "Twenty kinds of emptiness", etc.
The Lotus Sutra does not peresent these types of emptiness; however, it presents interesting types of emptiness.
If mind is the only thing, why are the systems so complex? What is the need for many types of emptiness?
[Lanka Chapter 3:] The Blessed One replied: What is emptiness, indeed! It is a term whose very self-nature is false-imagination, but because of one's attachment to false-imagination we are obliged to talk of emptiness, no-birth, and no self-nature.
Lankavatara presents seven kinds of emptiness:
  1. emptiness of mutuality which is non-existent;
  2. emptiness of individual marks;
  3. emptiness of self-nature;
  4. emptiness of no-work;
  5. emptiness of work;
  6. emptiness of all things in the sense that they are unpredictable, and
  7. emptiness in its highest sense of Ultimate Reality.
The Lankavatara Sutra emphasises the Emptiness of self-nature (svabhāva-śūnya). It rejects the emptiness of mutuality but presents mind (buddha-nature) inside the mortals. Nothing is mutual between illusion and reality. Illusion is the false imagination of mind.
The other five kinds of emptiness must also be important. However, bringing all seven types of Emptiness and other concepts of Emptiness into a comprehensive concept is unachievable. Understanding Emptiness with all these concepts is likely impossible. Nevertheless, we are informed that emptiness (svabhāva-śūnya) is the ultimate reality, while on the other side is maya, the false imagination of mind.

Mahāprajñāpāramitāsūtra presents 18-20 kinds of emptiness

[Prajnaparamita (CONZE page 19):] Considering the paramount importance of the idea of emptiness, a list of 20 kinds of emptiness is particularly welcome. The term "emptiness" as such is said to mean "neither unmoved nor destroyed". "Unmoved" (a-kutastha) means that it overtowers (kiita) all change, is unchangeable in what it is, in its own being, "steadfast as a mountain peak, as a pillar firmly fixed". The opposite would be the change, or destruction, of its own being. Both of these are excluded.
[Prajnaparamita (CONZE page 48):] (22) to be trained in the eighteen kinds of emptiness, i.e. the emptiness of the subject, etc.
Nagarjuna (also) presents three emptinesses in the Maha Prajnaparamita Sastra [Gelongma].
The first is similar to Sunna Sutta. See 5.1.12.
[Nagarjuna:] The eye is empty (śūnya): in it there is no ‘me’ (ātman) or ‘mine’ (ātmīya), and there is no dharma ‘eye’. It is the same for the ear, nose, tongue, body and mind.
[Gelongma:] For the disciples of the Mahāyāna ‘Greater Vehicle’ who are of keen faculties (tīkṣnendriya), the emptiness of dharmas is taught, and immediately they know that saṃsāra is eternally empty (nityaśūnya) and the same as nirvāṇa.
[Lanka Chapter 2:] Even Nirvana and Samsara's world of life and death are aspects of the same thing [emptiness]
[Gelongma:] For the disciples of the Hīnayāna ‘Lesser Vehicle’
[Gelongma:] If the Buddha were to speak of only one single emptiness, the many wrong views (mithyādṛṣṭi) and passions (kleśa) could not be destroyed [...] People who cling to the nature of emptiness (śūnyatālakṣaṇābhiniviṣṭa) fall into [the extreme] of nihilism (ucchedānta); to speak of the eighteen emptinesses is to hit the target (lakṣya) right on. To speak of ten or fifteen emptinesses would likewise provoke doubts (saṃśaya), but this is not at issue.

5.1.9. Avalokiteśvara discovered Svabhāva-Śūnya (Maya)

[Lanka Chapter 2:] the truths of the emptiness, un-bornness, no self-natureness, and the non-duality of all things.
[Lanka Chapter 3:] the fundamental fact that the external world is nothing but a manifestation of mind... emptiness, no-birth, and no self-nature.
[The Buddha nature (Six Senses):] Buddha nature means that the true nature of our mind is pure, right from the beginning, and has been so since the beginning of time. Although it is in itself perfectly unblemished, it becomes obscured, which prevents us from seeing it in its true form.

overcame all Ill-being

[Heart (Thich):] Avalokiteshvara while practicing deeply with the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore, suddenly discovered that all of the five Skandhas are equally empty, and with this realisation he overcame all Ill-being.
This `gotra-svabhava` means that the gotra (seed nature) of the `Tathagata` exists in all sentient beings. [THE SIGNIFICANCE OF `TATHAGATAGARBHA`:A POSITIVE EXPRESSION OF `SUNYATA` (HENG-CHING SHIH)]

Heart Sutra: Empty of Own svabhāva

[Heart (Red; pages 87)]: the Five Skandhas are empty of self-existence. [p77] Something that is empty of self-existence is inseparable from everything else, including emptiness. [p91] But if, as Avalokiteshvara tells us, all dharmas are empty of self-existence, impermanence 'no longer applies, as they neither come into being, nor do they cease to be. [p92] In the light of Prajnaparamita, all such states are seen to be empty of self-existence. [p94] And because such a self cannot be found, dharmas are said to be "empty of self-existence." [p120] But since the Five Skandhas are empty of self-existence, suffering must also be empty of self-existence. But if suffering is empty of self-existence, then there is no self that suffers. Thus, in emptiness there is no suffering, no source of suffering, no relief from suffering, and no path leading to relief from suffering. This is the basis of Avalokiteshvara's interpretation of the Four Truths. ['empty of self-existence' appears 13 times]
[Heart (Red; page 69):] Emptiness does not mean nothingness. It simply means the absence of the erroneous distinctions that divide one entity from another, one being from another being, one thought from another thought. Emptiness is not nothing, it's everything, everything at once. This is what Avalokiteshvara sees...
[Heart (Thich):] Thich Nhat Hanh considered emptiness is "totality" and "wholeness." If they are applied to Heart-Sutra, "all of the five Skandhas are equally empty" becomes "all of the five Skandhas are totality and wholeness."
[Heart (Red; page 75)]: But in the light of Prajnaparamita, form is not simply empty, it is so completely empty, it is emptiness itself, which turns out to be the same as form itself.
[Heart (Red; page 33)]: Others say true appearances transcend such dialectics—that they are the absolute, subjective mind—the mind's self-nature.

EMPTINESS (SUCHNESS), NON-DUALITY AND NON-EXISTENCE

[Heart (Red; page 120, quoted in Heart (Dharmanet)):] Since the Five Skandhas are empty of self-existence, suffering must also be empty of self-existence. But if suffering is empty of self-existence, then there is no self that suffers. Thus, in emptiness there is no suffering, no source of suffering, no relief from suffering, and no path leading to relief from suffering. This is the basis of Avalokiteshvara’s interpretation of the Four Truths.
the Zen master immediately used his thumb and index finger to pinch and twist the novice’s nose. In great agony, the novice cried out “Teacher! You’re hurting me!” The Zen master looked at the novice. “Just now you said that the nose doesn’t exist. But if the nose doesn’t exist then what’s hurting?” [New Heart Sutra translation by Thich Nhat Hanh]

Vasubandhu

[Vasubandhu:] the five sense organs (eye, ear, nose, tongue, skin) can each be inferred from the awareness of their respective sensory objects. But, he [Vasubandhu] says, there is no such inference for the self [2.1 Disproof of the Self (Jonathan C. Gold)].
“If the images of physical forms, and so on, were just consciousness, not physical things, then the Buddha would not have spoken of the existence of the sense bases of physical form, and so on.” [3. Approaches to Scriptural Interpretation (Jonathan C. Gold)]

Nāgārjuna: Rūpa Has Selves

The specific nature belonging to each dharma is, for example, the solidity (khakkhaṭatva) of earth (pṛthivi), the wetness (dravatva) of water (ap-), the warmth of fire (uṣṇatva) of fire (tejas), the mobility (īraṇatva) of wind (vāyu): such natures differentiate dharmas, each of which has its own nature”. [Tathata (Mahāprajñāpāramitāśāstra chapter XLIX)]
[Theravada:] Tathata (“suchness”) designates the firmly fixed nature (bhāva) of all things whatever.—The only passage in the Canon where the word occurs in this sense, is found in Kath. 186 (s. Guide, p. 83).

5.1.11. Sarvāstivādi Eternalism

Tathatā also represents Sarvāstivādi eternalism that rejects anicca (impermanence):
Tathatā represents the sameness of dharmas throughout the three times.
Hence at the time when the mental consciousness delivers it judgment, the perceptual cognition no longer exists since all things are momentary. [The Theory of Two Truths in India: 3.2 Ultimate truth (Sonam Thakchoe)]

Samkhara

[Samkara, a critic of non-authodox Buddhism,] divides Buddhism into three types: the “realists” (sarvāstitvādins), the “idealists” (vijñānavādins), and the “nihilists” (śūnyavādins) [...] in this simple threefold manner, and many would take great exception to the characterization of śūnyavāda, the “theory of the void” associated primarily with the Mādhyamika school of Nāgārjuna, as mere “nihilism.” [The Essential Vedanta Eliot Deutsch And Rohit Dalvi (PDF file) (Eliot Deutsch and Rohit Dalvi; page 126)]
[Suhotra Swami] originally Vedanta meant Vaisnava-vedanta. The Vedanta-sutras were compiled by Vyasadeva, a Vaisnava. The Srimad Bhagavatam is the natural commentary on the Vedanta-sutra, written by Vyasadeva himself 5000 years ago. [VII. A historical comparison of Vaisnava-vedanta, Mayavadi-vedanta and Buddhism.]

Personalism

[Bhajan & Kirtan Library:] Sankaracarya is supposed to be an impersonalist who preached impersonalism, impersonal Brahman, but it is a fact that he is a covered personalist. In his commentary on the Bhagavad-gita he wrote, "Narayana, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is beyond this cosmic manifestation." And then again he confirmed, "That Supreme Personality of Godhead, Narayana, is Krsna. He has come as the son of Devaki and Vasudeva." He particularly mentioned the names of His father and mother. So Krsna is accepted as the Supreme Personality of Godhead by all transcendentalists. There is no doubt about it."[Sri Isopanisad, Introduction]

Svabhāva in Mahayana & Indian Religions

[Breakthrough Sermon (Bodhidharma):] Our buddha-nature [buddha-svabhāva/buddha self-nature] is awareness: to be aware and to make others aware. To realize awareness is liberation [...] The Sutra of the Ten Stages [Lankavatara] says, “In the body of mortals is the indestructible buddha-nature.
[Svabhāva (Wisdom Library)] Shaivism: [verse 9.5-11, while explaining the universality of Amṛteśa]—“Amṛteśa is supreme. He is free of disease. His nature is inherent (svabhāva), fully enumerated, constant, eternal, and immovable. [He has] no form or color, and is the highest truth. Because of that, he is omnipresent. The splendid Deva delights in all āgamas, pervades all mantras, and grants all siddhis. In this way, he is like a transparent crystal sewn onto a colored thread, always reflected with its color, [and] seeking [to] look like this and that. [...]”.
The Great Void (Emptiness) of Shaktism [Shakta and Shakti (Usha Chatterji):] Her own dark form is the Void (Shunya). As Digambari she is naked, but Her nakedness is space itself. "The series of universes appear and disappear with the opening and shutting of Her eyes". The Mother's play or this cosmic manifestation is a continual process of creation, maintenance and dissolution, usually symbolised by the Hindu Trinity, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. [Studies in Comparative Religion, Vol. 2, No. 4 (Autumn, 1968)]
[Lotus Chapter 5:] ultimate Nirvana which is constantly still and extinct and which in the end returns to emptiness.

5.1.12. Atta-Suññatā

“voidness in formations” (saṅkhāra-suññatā) [...] and “voidness of self” (atta-suññatā) [...] variously classified in the Suññakathā of the Paṭisambhidāmagga. The “void mind-deliverance” (suññata-cetovimutti) is that connected with atta-suññatā (MN 43). [The Three Basic Facts of Existence: III — Egolessness (Anattā) Collected Essays, Buddhist Publication Society, Kandy, Sri Lanka, The Wheel Publication No. 202–204]
The knowledge of an arahant:
[Dhammakiti (담마끼띠):] Unlike the theory of self-begetting mutation by Brahmanism which argues that many appear from one, the understanding of Buddhism may be the revelation of truth from many to one based on the theory of dependent origination [...] The word ‘emptiness’ is mentioned in many discourses of early Buddhism [Culasunnata-sutta, Mahasunnata-sutta, Majjhima Nikaya] [초기불교에 나타난 대승공관의 기초 -맛지마 니까야의 『소공경』 과 『대공경』을 중심으로-]
The knowledge of Avalokiteśvara:

Ariya-Puggala: the Four 'Noble Ones'

Anatta Dhamma: Non-being of I-being/soul

Sunna Sutta: Sunna is the knowledge of the Buddha and the arahants:
Insofar as it is empty of a self or of anything pertaining to a self: Thus it is said, Ānanda, that the world is empty.
Anatta-lakkhana Sutta (The knowledge of the Buddha and arahants):
"Bhikkhus, [rūpa] is not-self.

Atta-Suñña (Atta-Suññatā)

the Buddha, the Analyzer (Vibhajjavaadi), analyzed the so-called being, the sankhaara pu~nja, the heap of processes, into five ever-changing aggregates, and made it clear that there is nothing abiding, nothing eternally conserved, in this conflux of aggregates (khandhaa santati). 2024.05.31 06:02 EpochSkate_HeshAF420 Salarian - Krogans relations in ME3

Why are the Salarians so unwilling to even consider opening their minds to the possibility of Krogans changing their old ways and evolving as a culture? Mordin said it best in that technological advancement without evolving ones society will lead to a disaster, but, the rest of the Salarian political system refuses to even give the Krogan a chance to evolve their society from isolated tribes, run by warlords to Wrex's idea of a unified Krogan government.
It seems especially ridiculous to hold onto their old grudge considering if they hamper the Alliance you setup in ME3, the reapers will, without a doubt, smash the Salarians to pieces quite easily. The Dalatrass is absolutely the worst offender of this bigotry imo, she is willing to torpedo the formation of Galactic-super-NATO all because she's afraid of one of many possibilities.
Dont get me wrong, visiting Tuchanka in ME2 is still fresh on my mind, Krogan society advancing to a point where its deemed necessary to destroy and rebuild is an odd display of behavior however, Wrex as well as Eve seem more than willing change or even do away with counterproductive traditions no matter how sacred they're considered yet, that display of cultural and personal progress is meaningless in the Delatrass' eyes... Unlike how the Turian's trust issues with the Krogan's go (and vice versa) it seems more like personal dislike and a sense of superiority guides Salarian policy and decision making whenever Krogan are concerned.
TL;DR The Salarian attitude towards Galactic-NATO helping the Krogan is some of the most bafflingly stupid shit I've ever seen, accurate to real life but also equally as pointless, especially given the enemy we're aligning ourselves against...

ASX 200, Nikkei 225 futures diverge from Wall Street: Asian Open May 31, 2024
By : Matt Simpson, Market Analyst
The US economy grew slower than originally estimated and prices remained elevated in the first quarter, according to a revised GDP report. Q1 growth was downwardly revised to 1.3% from 1.6% (3.5% in Q4), consumer spending was lowered to 2% from 2.5% (3.5% previously). Core PCE prices were a touch softer at an elevated level of 3.6%, down from 3.7% (3.7% previously).

Markets looked past the higher prices on the eve of a key PCE inflation report, focussing on the likelihood that weaker growth and consumption could prompt the Fed to cut rates sooner. US yields dragged the US dollar lower which was the weakest FX major on Wednesday, seeing the USD index hand back most of Tuesday’s gains. The 2-year now trades at 4.92 after meeting resistance at 5% on Tuesday.

Gold recovered back above Friday’s low after falling to a 3-week low ahead of the European open. Copper prices remain near its daily low after reaching a 3-week low of its own. The Bloomberg commodity index tracked Wall Street indices lower for a second day on demand concerns. Crude oil also down for a second day on oversupply concerns, with the 1-day Brent timespread moving into contango for the first time since January. Traders shrugged off lower stockpiles, and WTI reversed Tuesday's gains made on reports that OPEC+ planned to extend their oil production cut at Sunday's meeting.

Nikkei 225 technical analysis:

Earlier this week I outlined a bearish scenario for the Nikkei 225, based on price action on market positioning of asset managers from the commitment of trader report (COT report). I’ll admit that momentum turned lower than I expected. In fact it was within hours of the article being publish, so a bit of luck was on my side this week. You can view the article below.
The daily chart shows a clean break out of the correction pattern (wave B), which suggest a move at least to the cycle lows around 37k. Although wave equality projects a downside target around 35k. However, the daily RSI (2) reached oversold on Thursday and support was found at the 100-day EMA. The market is now trying to carve out an inside day, although so far respecting the 38,360 low as resistance. Ultimately, the core bias remains for a move to at least 37k and to fade into rallies below 38,500.
The 1-hour chart also shows RSI (2) reached oversold, so perhaps bears will be treated to another leg higher before momentum rolls over once more. Notice the high-volume node at 38,450 and the 100-bar EMA, which could provide resistance should prices break above Friday’s low.

Related analysis:

The Nikkei 225 has been added to my watch (out below) list

ASX 200 at a glance:

  • 7 of the last 8 days have been losses for the ASX 200 (the last 3 days have also been lower)
  • The ASX 200 is on track for a second bearish week and month
  • Perhaps this points to some overdue mean reversion higher to prompt a bounce
https://preview.redd.it/ajmq1f0nun3d1.png?width=780&format=png&auto=webp&s=1775342488d9127af15ab33847fcbfa9811bdfea

ASX 200 futures (SPI 200) technical analysis:

The daily chart shows that the ASX 200 futures market found support around the 100-day EMA on Thursday before reverting higher overnight. A bullish divergence has also formed on the daily RSI (2) within the oversold zone. Odds seem to favour at least another leg higher towards the 7730/40 resistance zone over the near-term.
The 1-hour chart shows heavy volumes at the cycle low, near the weekly S2 pivot point. Prices have since recovered back above the weekly S1 pivot which is now provide support.
Today’s bias is for a move towards trend resistance / 7340 area. Whether it can break higher or simply roll over is likely down to sentiment towards Wall Street and the outcome of the PCE report released later (hot inflation figures likely send indices lower, whereas a weak set of figures could be bullish for sentiment).

2024.05.31 00:09 No_Dark9371 Livgardet, Chapter IV: Brusilov

They left me. Dear God, they left me. They really fucking left me. I’m… What, millions of miles away from home?! I’m hiding in one of the bunkers on this God-forsaken planet.. M.I.A, no reinforcements, no objective, starving, and I’ve been her for God-knows-how-long. I’m alone with those THINGS. THE DEATH TOLL IS ALWAYS CLIMBING, THE MORTALITY RATE IS ALWAYS CLIMBING. THERE ARE NO “VETERAN HELLDIVERS”, BECAUSE WE NEVER SURVIVE ONE MISSION! WE’RE NOT MEANT TO SURVIVE! Please, someone, anyone come. I didn’t ask for this, for enlistment. They promised adventure, liberation, heroism. THEY LIED! I still hear the screams, the smell of the blood, the cries of my comrades. God, I’m so sorry, Anna. I’m sorry I was enlisted before our anniversary. I’m sorry I won’t see Henry's fourth birthday. I’m so fucking sorry
The rest was completely illegible, even to Styer’s trained eyes. Maybe it was the tear stains, or the dried bloodstains that took up half the yellowed paper, but for all of him, Styer could not read the bottom half. He adjusted his white collar, and tugged at his light red tie. He had read through and destroyed tens of hundreds of these types of “traitorous” notes and transmissions, to ensure these never reach the public. The Ministry of Truth had put him, and countless others in charge of what they called “Filtering”. It was a long and arduous process that took hours, but when he moved to the small incinerator beside him to finish off the process his body had practically saved in its memory; he hesitated. This struck a chord in him, one worse than all the others had. His black eyebrows knitted together as he re-read the paper for what seemed like the fiftieth time. Well, to be fair; he was trained to skim-read through them, then throw the damn things to the incinerator, but today.. He didn’t. For one, he was glad nobody was present at his little cubicle besides himself and his still-on computer, displaying the flag of Super Earth. Any sort of hesitation was an act of high treason, and punishable by death on the spot. Normally, there would be two specialized “Eighters” keeping watch over him and the countless other “Filtration enlistees”, but there seemed to be a lapse in security. One Styer was thankful to Lady Liberty for. A cold sweat beaded on the back of Styer’s neck, as he felt the heat through the vents even as it spilled ice-cold air. He could faintly hear the sound of boots stamping on concrete, and the sound of dying engines coming from above. After two quick glances around his surroundings, and ensuring the camera was turned in the opposite direction of him, Styer quickly stuffed the note in his coat pocket, almost fully concealing the small paper.
Mars Docking Bay September 27th, 2184, 1200 Hours.
The brisk winds of the Red Planet hit Uzi like the most welcoming sucker punch as the VTOL’s ramp dropped, especially after the “training” that was Hellmire. Just thinking of that planet sent a chill down the worker’s spine. God, she wanted to never return to that planet. Those bug things, and that absolutely fucking horrible smell would surely haunt her dreams for months to come. The docking bay was a breath of fresh air, both literally and figuratively. It was the first time Uzi had seen this many living humans. People were pushing carts full of equipment, Helldivers were being saluted, and soft jazz played from the speakers overhead. Wait, was that… Cantina Band? Uzi could’ve sworn that it was Star Wars music playing, but it had a different rhythm. Uzi grabbed at her hair slightly, slightly frowning at the feeling of a small Super Earth pin on the fabric as she walked down the ramp along with the seasoned Helldiver and the rest of the drones. The Sergeant had taken the beanie and stuck a pin on it, due to it being “Important for patriotic duties.” The moment the group stepped a single foot on the ground level of the dock, they were met with suspicious, almost angered glances from almost everyone besides Andrew, who guided the confused drones throughout the mass of humans. Some were in blue and black work uniforms, others in black and golden armor, but without Helldiver helmets, keenly watching the people and putting up posters glorifying Super Earth and the Helldivers. Andrew had no need to push past the people, for they made way for him, as if the Helldiver was some Royal. “This,” He began, turning around to the drones and throwing his hands up, walking backwards with seemingly no care at all. “Is how us Helldivers are treated. We’re basically the guardians of all things Liberty, so they owe everything to us. I hope you all know how to act rich, because I sure as hell don’t.” Turning back around, the Sergeant picked up speed, albeit slightly. The sound of a car engine humming was barely heard through the constant noise and the sounds of ships docking and taking off, but the humming got louder the more they proceeded to the other side of the dockyard.
After what seemed like a century of walking, they finally were graced by a flight of stairs, and an armored car that looked more like an APC than a regular transport vehicle. Uzi took a deep breath, trying to steady her breathing as she tried to will away all of the possibilities that were going fifty-over in her CPU. She turned to J, the two normally sworn enemies sharing nervous glances as they all proceeded down the marble stairs. V’s hand brushed against the freezing gold railing in the middle of the stairwell as she tried to push yesterday’s incident out of her mind. Yet for all her efforts, it would not stop replaying in her head, as if it was her only core memory set to replay.“Alright, get your asses on the Freedom Brick, as I call it.” Andrew broke the silence the moment they had finished descending, gesturing to the open back doors. J gulped as she stepped in, taking the rear velvet-colored seat. They were oddly comfortable for an APC, and there was even a walnut armrest to the left of her. She was soon followed by Rex clamoring into the front seat, then Uzi in the back with the other three. The two drones made a short, yet incredibly spiteful bout of glares before Uzi took her seat at the front.
Then came N and V, the two taking opposite seats. Uzi blinked hard, her body shaking ever so slightly as the worker tried to piece everything together. It had all happened so quickly; it seemed blurry. God, Uzi was getting a migraine just trying to piece it all together. Uzi rubbed the ache between her optics as best she could as the doors slammed shut, making her and some of the other drones jump as the APC took off. Her mind wandered off, thinking of Copper-9.

She wouldn’t say it was simpler times back then; it was far from a happy life, much less a simple one. Her thoughts wandered to her father, to Doll, the prom incident, and meeting that space girl. What was her name…? Tessa? Uzi was far too stressed, tired, and on edge to remember. Every jolt of the car, every bump in the road, and the faint radio playing were all multiplied by twenty. Trying to ignore the constant thudding in her heart, Uzi pressed three fingers to the side of her visor, turning on her playlist yet again. She began to slightly sway her head to the music, lulling her head back and trying to will her body to relax into her seat. Uzi forced an exhale as she listened to the song’s somber melody, tapping the outside of her thigh to the rhythm.
*Underneath the bridge, tarp has sprung a leak… And the animals I've trapped have all become my pets… And I'm livin’ off of grass, and the drippings from my ceiling… It’s okay to eat fish, cuz’ they don’t have any feelings….*Every time the worker was just about to be lured into unconsciousness, the car's constant jolting would startle her at least half-awake. For all of their constant speak of Liberty and paradise, one would think they would be able to flatten out their damn roads.

Something in the way… hmmm-mmm… Something in the way, yeah. Mmmm-hmmm…

Uzi rarely got much of any sleep at all due to the newfound burning discomfort of the seats, and the constant screeching of the bugs, the gunfire… The corpses. Uzi shook her head, leaning her elbows on her knees as best she could, trying to once again will away the gnawing feeling of dread that accompanied thinking of Hellmire. It was practically three hundred thousand degrees down there. Well, Uzi didn't know the exact temperature, but it sure as hell felt like it. The way sweat streamed down her visor like she had just sucked in all of Niagara Falls’ water, and it was now all spilling out was incredibly exhausting. Uzi was just about to let out a groan and toss in her seat when the vehicle came to a halt. J and V were fast asleep in their seats, their arms slumped on the armrest in a position that would no doubt give them both one helluva cramp, and their bodies were relaxed in the faux leather. Edge, meet Uzi. Yeah, the worker was on edge, in a major way. Thousands of questions and scenarios swarmed her mind like thousands of maggots designed to chip away at sanity instead of bodies. By one-thirty, the APC had come to a halt by some sort of security checkpoint. Uzi didn’t know, she couldn’t see half of anything from her seat. But she could see just enough to make out what it was by slightly stretching up and looking over her shoulder through the small window behind her seat. Preventing the APC from going much further than five feet was a dual boom gate, controlled by an operator cabin on each side, the white yellow and blue lights slowly blinking as if they had run out of battery. In front of the two cabins were two soldiers. They were heavily armored, but Uzi couldn’t quite see the weapons they carried, but it was safe to assume they were just as big as their wielders. Juggernauts, that was for one. Both in mass and in height. They looked like they could squash N on a rainy day. The two soldiers stood at perfect attention, not moving a muscle; as if they were toys yet to turn on.

The checkpoint was guarding what looked to be a tunnel going under Mars' surface, but there were no lights illuminating the passway. At least, no lights Uzi had seen. The checkpoint itself was a muted, yet oddly clean darkish-blue. The two operating cabins' front-facing windows were tinted to the point of complete invisibility. Uzi felt an ice-cold fear slither down her spine like a snake slithering towards its prey as one of the soldiers marched towards the driver's window. It was almost robotic, almost preprogrammed. They exchanged words that Uzi could barely hear at all. But just as the soldier began to march back to his post, the drone could've sworn they had looked dead in her eyes for a split second too long. Even through the gas masks that made their eyes look like two voids, Uzi could tell. That pair of eyes burned into her very soul for a second too long. Another cold chill ran its way down her spine, and everything seemed to get colder. The APC once again accelerated, almost throwing Uzi out of her seat and forcing Uzi to turn back around as the armored vehicle slowly passed over the once-guarded tunnel, the boom guards raising up just enough for the APC to pass over it. They entered the underground entrance just as hundreds of overhead lights clicked on almost instantly, its silent hum quickly overtaken by the echo of tires on pavement as the APC picked up speed. A mix of fear and excitement coursed through Uzi's veins as the APC sped down the long tunnel. The music that was once playing smoothly was now choppy, stuttering and buffering to the point of unintelligibility, and was accompanied with occasional static. The electric guitar riffs that now came off as nails on a chalkboard, drums that sounded like guns being fired right next to her auditory receptors, and vocals were now almost ear-piercingly distorted to the point of Uzi barely being able to make out the most of the lyrics.

I must'a died alone… A long, long time ago… You're face… To face… With the man who sold the world…

Okay, now this was beginning to get on her nerves. Uzi irritatedly turned off the music, playing with her fingers as the seconds ticked by. Excitement was soon overtaken by fear as the teen tensed. As much as she tried to push out the fear, or at least trap it in a secluded corner of her mind, the primal emotion always seemed to seep out like small tendrils bending the bars of its imprisonment, waiting for the perfect hour to break through any and all defenses and overwhelm the young drone as quickly and devastatingly as a cyclone. Minutes drained into hours as the APC finally came to a stop. Just a couple seconds after, the back doors flew open, and the four drones were roughly grabbed and thrown out of the APC by four different juggernauts. The next thing the worker knew, she, along with the rest of the drones were being pinned down by some sort of metal dog that bared its sharp teeth at her, saliva dripping from its mouth and bubbling at the rims. Though Uzi wasn't able to see their weapons earlier, even through her pained and swimming vision from landing back-first on titanium flooring, she could just make out the small flames that sprouted from the nozzle of their weapons. Her heart hammered in her chest as she frantically turned her head to V, now wide awake and panicked. She was trying to squirm out of the hold of the hound, but the more she squirmed, the more it barked and snapped its jaws at her, making V lean into the titanium flooring as best she could, trying to create some distance between those razor-sharp teeth and her head.

In the corner of her eye, J spotted Andrew. He circled around them almost casually, as if determining what to say. J’s body shook with anger, but she held her tongue. The last time she had done something like this, it ended with a splitting headache on her end. “Don't worry, they're not gonna kill you. You're gonna be taken in for questioning, then you'll be trained as Helldivers.” He explained. Even still, that didn't serve to calm the four drones much, if at all. “If it helps any, I really didn't know this was going to happen. Only learned; like… A couple hours ago. Alright, goodnight.”

Each of the four drones felt a sharp pain in their neck, then their vision slowly darkened, and the pain numbed. The last thing they saw was those hounds, as bloodthirsty and animalistic as ever, saliva still dripping from their mouths and onto the drones’ clothes. Then nothing.

Mars under Super Earth Control, 1500 Hours, September 27th, 2184.

When J came to, darkness surrounded her. It was almost peaceful. Peace. That was something J had never felt at all. She never remembered feeling at peace…. Well, ever. This was new, unnerving even. Hell, the drone was half-tempted to think they had killed her. A sudden, and bright white light shining directly in her face proved her wrong, making the drone wince and shut one eye; instinctively moving her head to the left in a futile attempt to shield her optics from the light that blinded the Apostle Paul. She leaned back, and cold metal pressed against her, sending a chill of equally as cold fear down her spine. Her optics hollowed, questions and possibilities running through her mind at thousands of miles an hour. Cotton brushed against her arms and back, loosely so. Her heart rate skyrocketed, and she felt lightheaded the more she looked down at the ceil blue gown she was in. Was she in a hospital gown?
Then the pain came. It was a searing, slow-building pain that started off as a dull sensation, and grew into a white-hot, burning, stinging agony. It started at her torso, then spread throughout her body like a cancer. J’s chest tightened, and she struggled to take a breath she was damn sure she had no need for.

“Apologies for the pain, and what we had to do to you.”

What did they do to me?! ’ A primal fear caused J’s body to shake as her CPU tried to bridge the gaps. Tens of thousands of possibilities; each worse than the last, ran through J’s systems like a flood of patrons on Black Friday. She squirmed on her seat as the light died down, black and red splotches dancing across her vision. The light itself did not illuminate much of the room, and J’s night vision wasn't doing much either, surprisingly.
NIGHT VISION NUMBED.

Oh. Oh fuck.

The more the murder drone squirmed, the more the cuffs dug into her wrists. Trying to ignore the pain as best she could, J wiggled her arms, trying to dislocate any of the two limbs. Almost like being struck by a bullet, a searing volt of electricity shot through her systems, making her cry in agony, her optics completely whitening as she slumped over on the table, the prickling sensation akin to a million needles pricking her casing. J’s every breath was shaky and erratic as she struggled to straighten up. The former torrent of anger, rage and fear was completely consumed by one emotion. An ice-cold, primal dread.

“Like I said before, please excuse the pain. We had to make sure you weren't an Automaton. You don't look the part, certainly. But we had to make sure.” The voice coming from the other side of the darkened silver table was a smooth, honeyed, masculine voice Lucifer probably used to deceive Adam and Eve. “Your functioning, systems… Your inner workings are unlike anything our top scientists have ever seen before.”

J had no idea if that was a compliment, or an insult. The very distant sounds of a certain gruff voice shouting was faintly heard by J, getting closer and closer.

“So, let's cut to the chase, shall we? You are from… 3071, correct?”

“Correct.” J replied, a sense of uneasiness in her voice as her brows pulled together.

“We already know what you are. A Disassembly Drone, purposed to eliminate Worker Drones and construct spires out of their corpses. Reminds me of Dead Space, really. Our technicians did some prodding in your systems, and… The results have been passed up to High Command. Not much has been… Publicized, about your kind.” He said. The ranting and shouting grew closer, yet closer as the interrogator pressed on. “What brought you here?”

“I don't…. Know myself. I nodded off while on a ship, and… I wake up on another.” J spared the details of the exact ship she was in. J’s mind rushed over to Tessa, and an anxiety crept down her back. That was practically the only friend she'd ever had, like Hell these motherfuckers would track her down.

“What ship?” He asked.

A dead silence, only broken by the shouting in the distance, still growing closer and more audible.

What ship? ” He pressed.

Before J could even answer, the interrogation door flew open, revealing a very pissed off Rex. He stormed into the interrogation room, and began ranting once more about the “procedure” J and the other drones had gone under involuntarily.

“Sergeant Andrew, calm down.” The interrogator said, trying to calm the Helldiver as he pressed on.

“Calm down?! You're telling me to calm down when you people just fucking… Cut the four of them open?” The Welshman shouted, pointing to J. “If they were Automatons, I would've blown their brains out by now.”

“We do not know what they are, and their capabilities will give us an edge over our enemies. Even a source of how they change weapons somehow will help us dramatically . The wings, the missile launchers. Hell, the regenerative capabilities If we can… Replicate what they have,” He reasoned, pointing to J, only a half of his hand peeking into the light. “We would have a completely unimaginable boost. Our scientists have extracted what they need, but I must do my job. Now, leave so I can extract the proper information from this drone.”

“I'll tell you how you can help yourself, you can cease all study of my recruits, and return them to my sole custody, or I will shove my boot so far up your ass that it'll nudge your microscopic brain, and maybe promote some damn growth.” Andrew snarled in reply.

“They're yours?” The interrogator asked, surprise evident in his voice. That calm and collected voice was completely overtaken by surprise.

“Oh, no shit. I wouldn't have given a damn if they weren't.”

J felt like she was in the middle of a custody dispute.

“In that case…” The cuffs on J loosened, slowly but surely. In a couple seconds, it popped off, as well as a sort of shock collar on her neck, clattering to the floor harmlessly. “Under policy, we are not to question Helldiver recruits. You may proceed to training.” J breathed the largest sigh of relief at those words. But when the drone got up, her legs buckled, and it took all of her willpower not to fall over flat on her face. Without even thinking, J outstretched her arm, slinging it over Andrew’s shoulder. The Helldiver didn't resist, instead helping the beleaguered drone out of the room.
Mars under Super Earth Control, 1800 Hours, September 27th, 2184.

The first thing that has struck them all was the sheer scale of the large underground facility. Cool winds washed over the group as they entered through the large, reinforced doors, clad in Helldiver armor, but missing their helmets. The facility was massive, with sprawling training grounds that seemed to stretch on forever. Just a short walk away was an obstacle course, with towering walls, rope climbs, and muddy trenches. Above them were what looked to be machine guns stationed across the trench lines.

They weren't live… Were they?

Just overhead, the Super Earth anthem’s instrumental version softly played on the speakers. Groups of trainees were already present, some giving confused glances at the drones. Some of them were running through exercises, the stamping of boots on concrete filling the air. Andrew… He was quite literally shaking with elation, as if he was an excited toddler on Christmas morning. They were all quickly pushed off to the central area, filled with obstacle courses, muddy trenches, rope climbs, and different rooms with monitors plastered with the flag of Super Earth, news outlets faintly detailing the latest happenings of the “ Special Military Operation ” currently going on, several different planets flashing across the screen. At those words, a cold fear slithered down all four drones’ spines. They regarded the shit they saw, what they had to do… As a special military operation? A simple skirmish?
Standing there was a stern, sharp-featured face, a scar running down his left cheek. He was clad in Helldiver armor, but he had medals adorned on his left breastplate, and he also was without his helmet. When he laid eyes on Andrew, his eyes momentarily softened, as if he had come across an old friend, but it vanished like a vapor in the wind. In a flash, he brought his left arm upward, saluting the drones and Andrew. The Welshman salutes just as quickly as the man, but the drones took a couple extra seconds to reply. His eyes fell to Uzi, who was nervously glancing around, twirling a strand of her dull purple hair with her index finger.

“You.” His voice boomed, causing the startled worker to look up at the man, his cold and calculating eyes sending a chill down her spine. “One step foward. March !”
Without any of her usual backsass, Uzi took one step forward, not daring to move a muscle after that.

“Feet closer. Hands to your sides. Head up. Stern. No emotion.” He commanded, watching the teen's quite horrible attention stance, which was quickly straightened up as best as possible. Though the man wouldn't admit it out loud, it was… Rather impressive, for a first-timer. He nodded a nod that even Andrew barely noticed before stepping forward, analyzing each of the drones, now standing at attention, trying to mimic Uzi's stance as best as possible. He slowly walked up and down, his eyes never leaving each of the five. “Sergeant, these are yours, correct?” He asked, quietly chuckling after Andrew nodded. He nodded once more, this time more noticeable. “I see Hellmire has taken them to shape. I can see why you see something in them.”

The man spoke to Andrew like he was an old friend, a warm edge to his voice, despite his outward appearance. “Alright then. Let's see if you are what you seem. I am General Brasch, and I will be your drill sergeant, and your guide to joining the Galaxy's most elite peacekeeping force.” He introduced. “Now, I have far better things to do than teach recruits, but I will make an exception, in this case. Now, each of you, drop down. I want ninety, right this instant. Let's see if you're really up for being a Helldiver.” His voice lost that warmness, quickly replaced by that cold edge from earlier. “Then after this, you are to run the obstacle courses after doing ninety more sit-ups, and navigate through the trench within thirty minutes.” He said, holding up a small digital timer.

The oil in each drones’ veins froze at that statement. Thirty fucking minutes?! ‘That's impossible.’ J thought, staring at the general with widened and hollowed optics.

A dead silence, as if time had frozen at his words.

“Now, ‘fore I bump it up to one-hundred!” He barked. If anything, his order sounded more of like a pitbull barking than a human shouting. Far worse than the generic drill sergeant they had naively expected. Brasch nodded to Andrew, prompting a nod from the younger Helldiver as he walked off, the General watching the drones drop down and begin to do the push-ups.

“One.”

“Two.”

“Three.”

“Four.”

“Five.”

Brasch counted loudly, his counting only serving to heighten the four drones’ stress. Sweat beaded on J’s visor as she cleared her thirtieth push-up.

“After this segment of exercise, you will be each handed a schedule paper detailing your new workday. I suggest you get used to it, and quickly.” He said, his voice growing colder and colder by the minute.
It was times like these where Uzi had the sudden wish to go back to Copper-9. Back home, to her dad's horrible parenting, and rants about Nightcore. Hell, she'd be glad if she had to put up with Lizzy of all people, again! After a couple grueling minutes, they had all finished. Though they were all far from completely tired, the constant exercise had made their muscles ache. It was a dull ache at best, however. But Brasch gave them no time to rest.

“Back down, ninety-five sit-ups.” Even when he didn't raise his voice, he still sounded intimidating. Without question, the drones obeyed, trying their best to ignore the General's loud counting that did nothing to soothe their fears.

Wait, didn’t he say ninety beforehand?

“Dive, dive, dive! You straighten up, you get fucked up! Keep your heads down!” Brasch’s shouting was barely heard over the auditory receptor-piercing sound of gunfire. ‘ Holy shit, they were fuckin' live! ’ Uzi’s dull purple hair was matted with mud as she crawled through the mud-filled trench, occasionally freezing when a bullet almost grazed her. Her eyes snapped shut, and her muscles ached and cried for respite. The once reasonably-lightweight Helldiver armor had become an anvil strapped to her body. The other drones fared just as, if not worse than Uzi. Bullet whizzed by them as they slowly and painstakingly crawled through the mud. Her holstered rifle brushed against the mud, adding to the weight she had to carry. Even through the fatigue, the teen pushed on, the bullets flying by her constantly reminding her of what would happen should she dare to stop for one second.

“Jesus fuckin' Christ, what the hell?!” J screamed, her hands flying to her head as a bullet zoomed past her, barely missing her head, her body stiffening for a second before the murder drone forced it to resume crawling, this time much faster. “Is he trying to kill us or something?!” The words came out in panicky bursts as the drones scrambled like rats in a race across the trench, caked in mud. The dark brown gloop obscured V’s vision to the point of being unable to see five feet ahead of her. The murder drone ground her teeth and forced herself to press on, albeit nervously and clumsily.

“Come on, go, go, go! The enemy will not wait for you to get your shit together! Move your asses!” Brasch shouted over the chaos. He stood a safe distance away from the chaos, hands tucked behind his waist, but he kept those cold dark-gray orbs on the drones, analyzing their every move and imperfection.
Midway through the already arduous climb, the scorching heat was replacing with a biting cold that even Copper-9’s climate could not even hold a candle to. Uzi felt like she’d completely freeze, even if she moved. But the end was in sight, thankfully. Each of the four drones scrambled up the rope, mantling up the ledge and doubling over in complete exhaustion. There was a whole other segment just a walk away, but their bodies would no longer heed their orders to move. Each of the recruit’s breaths came out in shaky gasps as V was suddenly pulled up. It was another Helldiver recruit. “Up you get.” He said, his voice youthful yet stern, much like Andrew’s.

“Corporal Michaels, you are to guide the recruits through the minefield and guide them through engagement with the Automatons.” Brasch shouted from below. Damn he had a loud voice. The platform itself was… Substantially high up, for lack of a better term. None of the four recruits wanted to look down, though. Uzi’s hands shook at the thought crossing her mind, her hand brushing on the railing to her left.
“Sir, yes sir!” He shouted back without missing a beat before turning to the exhausted recruits, most of which now back on their feet. “I'd watch where you all put your feet. Oh, and don't look down.” He warned, before gesturing to the minefield. It was intricately laid out, like a series of dominoes waiting to fall. He walked up to the field, stopping short when he came to the end of the small ramp going down into the hazardous grounds, waiting for the other drones to come along. He stood as still as a statue, the lights above casting a glare on his pitch-black helmet. After a second’s worth of reluctance, the drones exhaustedly staggered forward, stopping beside the corporal Helldiver, staring down the narrow, yet spacious passageway. “Normally you won’t be given this time to survey, but look around you. Any way to bypass these mines, you use it.” He explained, his voice monotone and body unmoving, as if he had said this millions of times before. “However, you are to never use your fellow diver as a meat shield. That is a complete disgrace to everything we stand for as Helldivers.” His voice grew into a cold disdain, as if those who did that were roaches that needed to be exterminated. “Worst comes to worst; and you die, you die. It happens.” He continued, the sheer callousness in his voice sending chills down the four recruits’ spines. “Once again, look for ways to bypass these mines. I really don’t want to have to see another batch implode again.”

And with that, they began. Almost instantly, V drew her rifle, firing thrice. The three mines in the middle detonated, taking three more with it in the process, clearing the path for the first segment of mines. Michaels slowly clapped as they pressed on, clearing the mines with surprising efficiency. This was generally the first time Uzi had held an actual rifle in her hands. The only “rifle” she had ever held was her railgun. The weapon felt good in her hands, and when she fired it at the mines, the recoil was surprisingly minimal. Uzi’s lips curled into a shadow of a smirk. Oh, hell yes.
“Good, you’re not mashed potatoes. Now let's see how you fare against this.” He said, swiping on the small screen on his wrist. Almost the second after Michaels stopped swiping, five robots were elevated to the surface. “These are Automatons. You kill them.” Three were just their height, two equipped with rifles and one a rocket launcher. The other two were far bigger, their spine and head glowing a fire orange. Instead of arms, they had chainsaws, and long, curving spikes adorned their backs. They were certainly not drones, that was for sure. They looked like humanoid endoskeletons, and their eyes were two glowing orbs of red, as if it had been extracted from the fires of Hell itself. The moment they had laid eyes on the recruit Helldivers, the two big ones charged forward, while the three smaller bots raised their rifles and launchers.

“What the hell are those things?!” V shouted, raising her rifle and firing, striking the bigger bots God-knows-how-many-times. Even though it was practically riddled with bullet holes, it charged forward at V and J, a high pitched manic laughter crawling up from it's voice box as it's chainsaws revved. Both drones’ mouths fell open, but no sound came out. They squeezed the trigger, not even bothering to let go as N and Uzi dispatched the other three bots. The small teen’s bullets made contact with the smaller Automations, oil splattering out of their bodies as they were peppered by Liberator bullets. Uzi watched as the Automatons fell, the glow dissipating, leaving only blackness in their eyes. It felt… Exhilarating. A fresh adrenaline rush that almost overwhelmed her. With the smaller ones gone, she and N turned their focus to V and J. J barely dodged one of the swipes from the bigger Automaton, a surprised yelp slipping from her lips as she ducked. The chainsaw barely missed her, slicing a couple strands of her silver hair clean off. A kick took the murder drone completely off guard, sending the drone staggering back. Her back pressed on the rail, before she flipped over, her hand instinctively grabbing onto the rail, holding on for dear life as she dangled off the edge.
Another swipe forced the Helldiver-in-training to swing leftward, creating enough momentum to propel herself upwards, flipping herself over the Automaton, and towards the railing. She landed with catlike grace, landing in a perched position, despite her peglegs. She dodged yet another combination of chainsaw attacks, jumping back, and to the left, back onto solid ground, almost bumping into Uzi. J breathed a sigh of relief after her feet (or lack thereof) made contact with the floor, her heart rate still going one-million per second, even though the short worker was now giving her a short-lived but intense glare.

“Watch where you're going, will you?” She snapped.

But there was no time to rest. Another swipe forced J to lean backwards, the blades barely grazing her armor as her sidearm flung out of its holster. She fired blindly at the Automaton’s torso, the chainsaw-bot finally falling over, dead.

“J, down!” Uzi shouted. Almost instinctively, J threw herself downward as another shot rang out. The Automaton behind her was now without its head, small flames belching out of where the head used to be as it leaned sideways, tumbling down the platform and landing below with a sickening thud . Uzi raised her weapon, admiring the smoke that came out of the barrel. “Y’know, I had half the mind to shoot you both.” She remarked, her head craning to the side, her smirk now more noticeable. She holstered her pistol, turning back around to Michaels for approval, her breaths heavy, just like the others, but her smirk still as present as ever. Each of the recruits’ bodies ached and begged for respite. N felt lightheaded, and had to brace himself on the railing. He ran a hand through his hair, heavily sighing. Michaels was leaning on the railing, arms crossed, as if unimpressed. Uzi's face fell.

But Uzi had a feeling he was, though.
“Haven't seen a show like that since… Well, ever.” He congratulated. “Next up is bayonet and Hand-to-hand training. Enemy won't give you a shit's worth a’ rest, so we're not giving you it either. Brasch and I will keep watch, and make sure you all don't hurt yourselves too much. But, you have made Super Earth proud thus far. Keep this up, and you'll make great additions to the Helldiver Corps. Down we go." The platform slowly began to move downward, past the corpse of the Automaton, which was now sporadically twitching. Brasch himself was nowhere to be found, as the platform descended further downward into the training facility.
Author's Ramblings: Shit, bootcamp really is fucking our drones up! But they will come out stronger, better, and more PATRIOTIC! FOR SUPER EARTH!

2024.05.30 23:40 gringoswag20 The Complete Guide to The New World Order

N.W.O= New Babylon
First off I'm not trying to sound like I know everything. The more I learn, the more I realize I know truly nothing. I know a lot more than I once did and I know we are running out of time... all of you deserve to know as much information as you can. It's our Birthright to know.
To understand everything that I'm going to say you have to understand that these people in power are not like you and I. These people are totally psychotic and insane. You hear about the rituals and things they do, but it may not truly make sense. I think I'm here to help with that; to help you understand their beliefs and their goals for the “New Age”.
This is my attempt at a brief guide to the coming “New World Order and New World One-Religion” spearheaded by a messiah to unite all religions into one.
Many books have been written about this, and this has been the plan of the Elites for some time now. Our only hope is waking up the population to the global conspiracy that is coming to fruition around us.

THE NEW WORLD ORDER

https://preview.redd.it/pq7mg66dye3d1.png?width=246&format=png&auto=webp&s=c2cacc0e3095430e59c75df97fe0ced6c02f4b47
Most of this is already known but we must understand the basics of the world’s structure. Every industry, be it entertainment, food, the media, healthcare, foreign policy, the military, etc can be traced back to Mega-hedge funds like BlackRock, Vanguard, Safe Street, JP Morgan, etc. Everyone from Pfizer and Moderna to Lockheed Martin and Raytheon are under the bankroll by the same people. The C/IA, M/OSSAD, MI6… all the same people.
These hedge funds, who have a monopoly on all corporations, and control every industry, can be traced to the same families and secret societies.
That means the same people and the same families own everyone and have been behind every single world conflict. Their favorite tactic is to cause the worst problem and then offer the solution to it which the citizens wouldn't have taken otherwise. Everything in modern times can be traced back to the true puppet masters, the secret societies. The Freem@sons, the Illumin@ti, the Sku1l and Bones, Jesu1ts, etc, are all a part of the "Inv1sible College."
The Bank of the UN is literally the Lucis Trust. Which started as Lucifer's Trust.
https://preview.redd.it/npdg9q4eze3d1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=edea7245485d32929c6ef062bc15de1f9bca67ef
Any end justifies the means. It doesn't matter that they have been the ones creating and funding both sides of every war, stealing the money from the lower class, enslaving them through dogmatic religions and economic slavery Etc, etc.
The goal of the Invisible Col1ege, and its multiple heads like the World Bank, W.E.F, W.H.O, UN, etc. are actively working to destroy the world, and the old world order, to ensure the creation of their new world and the new world order. A society built around their perception and their vision, and only theirs. A New Babylon… A New Age. A world United under one religion and one government, so that the only man who may inhabit this new age is the illuminated man. May I add, illuminated to their beliefs…
https://preview.redd.it/3g126g2k1f3d1.png?width=1032&format=png&auto=webp&s=2c51699c32afaa87d0e931237ce17bee8d29e309
On the highest level, you can see why they hate Christianity, and if you look deep enough Islam and Judaism as well.
I'll explain more of that later.
What's happening today has been planned. World War I and World War II pitted Muslim and Christian nations against each other in major mass murder rituals. Both times they completely changed the societal order of the world.
The Freem@sons helped build up Germany. Hitler became powerful and after he imprisoned the Jews, he turned around to imprison the Freem@sons (who had given him power)
This is the secret that some people in the public have not woken up to. Churchill, Stalin, and FDR were all Freem@sons. Before Hitler imprisoned and shut down the Freem@son lodges, and became a dark occultist himself, he was helped and financed by the same banking cartel and secret societies. World War 3 is just the same.
Many people in the West have already come out to say that we are in the middle of World War 3. We just haven't been told yet. You can see this with the fronts escalating in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and with China.
In the US it is Insane how much our government is warning us that China can bring our grid down whenever they want to. The news of bird flu and other pandemics are both tactics of fear that these societies used to coerce the people to give up their rights and accept their solutions.
And what are their solutions? They believe that human beings and us, "the profane", are so inept and unable to think for ourselves... that we must be led and controlled.
They have no self-awareness and understanding that they have caused the majority of issues that have ruined many people's lives and caused world strife; yet they look at these people as disposable and ignorant. They have single-handedly destroyed countries and communities yet believe that they have To save us from ourselves.
Cyber attacks and other methods are a way that they can Implement their CBDC, A digital currency, which like the former CEO of BlackRock said, would literally make the planet into an actual prison planet.
One doesn't have to be indoctrinated in a goofy club like Freem@sonry to watch the Davos conferences and hear of their master plans. Putting a chip in your mind or hand to measure your biometrics, vibrational thought wave control, and ultimately controlling every aspect of your life with the guise of fighting climate control. What I'm getting to, is the one world religion, which as I'll break it down, is utterly preposterous.

The One World Religion and the New God: The Morning-Star

https://preview.redd.it/0nikjbjw0f3d1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=511f8333a3777e261ff451f51f0f84cd13d24f17
The one world religion and the new God will just be a recycling of the Babylon mystery religion. These people hate Christianity because they view it as the ultimate perversion of their own religion. They think that man evolved over time until being illuminated by their god, Lucifer, or knowledge and reason, the light given by the hidden God, represented by the sun. Depicted as Osiris, Ra, etc.
This is the part where we all need to stay together. This is when one needs to have an open mind and look at a nuanced situation. Don't take my word as well, look this up yourself so you may know the truth for yourself.
They believe that Lucifer, or the light, the sun, and knowledge, used Satan as an agent to illuminate man in the Garden of Eden story. They believe that Yahweh was a cruel and unjust God keeping man at a lower level and imprisoned in the Garden of Eden.
They see Christianity which worships Yahweh as God and puts 'satan' down to be a lie and perversion.
In my research, using many different cultures and the Sumerian ancient cuneiform tablets, this seems to be a correct translation of the story. it's just hilarious that they would get it so wrong.
They have created the lie that they worship the god Lucifer so they may lie to you and tell you that they do not. This is because they do not believe that a Creator God created us but that we were enlightened and illuminated by the ultimate light bearer or morning star, the Sun. The sun is not their God but it is the symbol of their god, illumination.
This is where I personally believe their beliefs are flat-out wrong, and I think it's hilarious that they believe themselves to be the smartest and wisest men to ever grace the earth when I view them as narcissistic, supremely arrogant, psychotic, and borderline stupid.
In Freem@sonry, you have to slowly work your way up to the 33rd degree learning and being taught many lies before you're taught that Lucifer is the god to be worshiped. what goofy ass people.
I'll try to explain where they go wrong so we may all know the true history.
Yahweh seems to be an ancient storm deity adopted by the Israelites during the Iron Age. The storm traces back to the “God Of the Storm/God of The Air” or Enlil who in the ancient Sumerian story very well represents the qualities of satan.
So yes in many parts of the Bible, Yahweh is Enlil, who is really Satan. This is why Yahshua never worships Yahweh and says everyone who came before himself was thieves and robbers. "
In many parts of Deuteronomy and other parts of the Bible Enlil or Yahweh orders and pits people against each other in battle, validates sexual assault, is a jealous god, orders human sacrifice and yearns for the material gain of beef, lamb, gold, and virgins; as well as a multitude of things that an all-knowing and loving God would have no reason to indulge in. One can thank the Catholic Roman Church which combined all of the ancient deities into a monotheistic religion worshiping Yahweh/ Enlil.
With this realization, one can realize most of our history has been a battle against the corrupted and psychotic Catholic Roman church and the corrupted and psychotic Freem@sons. Both have taken their own understandings of our past and will kill and torture anyone who doesn't believe their own.
The elites believe that Lucifer using Satan as his agent enlightened man with knowledge that could make him more powerful than god. Again how completely arrogant and deceived to believe this and also not even understand your own story you use as proof.
First off, the serpent to these people accurately means wisdom and knowledge. The term nahash in Hebrew means Serpent and means The Shining or enlightened. That's what the serpent represented in the Adam and Eve story. But these dummies don't realize Enki is Lucifer. Not the Sun or a hidden god, but the Sumerian god named Enki
Lord Enki (En=Lord, Ki= Earth)
Enki means the Lord of the Earth and is either an incarnation or father of such figures such as Quetzalcoatl, Thoth, Odin, Loki, Prometheus Enoch, etc. I've made a film to show how there is much evidence to prove Enki was also Jesus; and the Satanists believe this as they believe Jesus, Satan, and Lucifer are all one of the same.
Where we differ though is that I believe that there is enough evidence to show that Yahshua did walk the earth, was crucified, and was either such an enlightened being that he understood the true nature of God or was a reflection of the true god of love himself.
It's funny that these people believe that their God Lucifer is not an actual Creator God when in every single culture, who Supposedly never knew each other, they speak about the same being. the same iconography, the same symbols, and the same Teachings. From the Native Americans, to the native Australians, to the Sumerians to the Asians, to tribes in Africa, and those in South America, etc.
These so-called Luciferians don't realize that Enki is the good God in the bible.
The god who is said to have gone behind Enlil's back to give us the knowledge of the Gods and to make us more enlightened than our rulers. The one who saved us from many of Enlil's famines and the great flood in which he wished to destroy all of humanity. Enki warned Utnapishna or Noah to build his ark and save his family and as many animals as he could.
Enki is the god who created us out of clay. Enki fell in love with his creation which he had made perfect. He saw himself in his creation and did everything in his power to uplift them and allow them to become enlightened themselves.
Much of the Bible is trying to teach you to not forget your true self and be led astray by Satan, Enlil, who rules in a shadow form. King Solomon and King David and the stories about them are a clear reference to this. Enlil, the god of the sky, and the eagle is still the ruler of the world today. You can see this on every single military and government insignia.
And this is why the elites hate Christianity. Because the ancient Sumerians and every other culture mirror and validate Christianity.
Enki should not be worshiped like he is god, for many cultures only speak of him as the mediator between the one true god. The god of unity and love, The God Who is everything In this universe. Although Enki is the father of man and created man to be more perfect than the rulers at the time, His only goal and purpose is to uplift Humanity to its own level.
That the true God is found within, every single culture in the world, who did not know each other at the time, and have the same iconography and stories about Creator Gods who made us in their image. The elites do not believe this. as you can see through our indoctrination through the schooling system. rationally there is no other way to explain how our brain gained such mass and brain capacity in such a short time.
It's also hilarious that these people think that they know so much when literally so many people of the world who Have a rich culture and a passed-down oral tradition literally tell you where they got their information from.
Every other religion, which they are against and wish to eradicate, are religions of love and unity. When not mistranslated and when reading their true teachings, one realizes that every religion is a way back to the unification with god.
A example of the higher realm of unity
We are all not our bodies but we are Immortal awareness, a reflection of God. There is only one consciousness in the whole universe and that is god. We are all Experiencing God to remember ourselves as God, to return to one's true self( which is God). The elites wish to erase our relationship to God and our true selves and return us to the state that Enlil originally tried to keep us in, slaves.
The elites who practice a satanic form of Gnosticism wish to create a socialist authoritarian technocracy and control everything we do think and consume so we may be 'illuminated' by their beliefs and return to Enlil's original wish for us to be slaves and drones. Peasants and little workers who serve our illuminated gods and live in their "utopia."

The Messiah

The elites plan to create this new Society and order out the ashes of chaos. They plan on spearheading this by appointing a messiah, someone who will unite all the world's religions in a Time when it seems like there will be no peace.
I will go into this in detail and other posts as the elites fully believe that their Messiah is on the Earth today and will emerge very soon. Without even knowing this, I have met many people and heard many stories about this supposed messiah, and I will go into great detail explaining all perspectives and sides of this.
What I do know is that this Messiah is awaited by both those spiritually enlightened and those serving the false lords.

2024.05.30 17:37 az4th Continuing to interpret readings in the iching subreddit. 40uc

So, this morning, in the hour of hexagram 51 line 5, I asked a series of questions.
40 unchanging. The Jiaoshi Yilin verse for this is:
The yoked carriage advancing to go on a tour, Birds fighting in front of the carriage, And then mutually locked in death's grip.
Warfare and mauraders come at dawn, Turning the carriage around and quickly going back, Enables the possibility of no concerns.
40's liberation, without active changes, becomes stagnant and rendered as a standstill. Best to turn back.
36 with active lines 1 and 4
Line 1 is aware of the impending darkening via resonance with line 4 and quickly moves to make its exit, even as others gossip about them. But it knows there is somewhere to go, ventures on the journey. Line 4 represents the beginning of the darkening and awareness of what is to come, enabling the withdrawal before there is disaster and the breaking of the storm.
Again, very similar to the first reading warning about turning back at the sign of danger ahead. It is not easy for me to turn back, and I do not do so easily, and yet I cannot deny the signs of darkness ahead and the coming of a storm. With the announcement of western approval of Ukraine's use of western weaponry in Russian lands, a new chapter has just begun. I don't know what that has to do with us here, but the message from the Yi is consistent about this need to turn back.
Not understanding if I am simply to stop all readings all together, I asked:
4 with line 2 active.
Hexagram 4 relates to incubation within a womb of darkness. A miss-step easily leads to miscarriage. Hence the struggles of new life to persist and avoid foolish mistakes that lead toward premature endings or punishments.
Line 2 is the line that represents what is being incubated. And that is apt - my website is something I only launched very recently and is still developing itself as it learns to evolve into what may become its final form. As are the style of readings I am offering. I still am not quite sure where I am taking this. But the readings I have done so far have been beneficial to others, and have felt rather destined. I haven't done any advertising or self promotion, and that is not what this is about either. I am simply curious to follow where I am guided to go. And this answer seems to suggest that there is room for this path to continue developing for me.
Having gotten this far, I found it necessary to do some self-examination to help track my read of all of this.
62 with line 3 active.
Wilhelm writes: At certain times extraordinary caution is absolutely necessary. But it is in such life situations that we find upright and strong personalities who, conscious of being int he right, disdain to hold themselves on guard, because they consider it petty. Instead, they go their way proud and unconcerned. But this self-confidence deludes them. There are dangers lurking for which they are unprepared. Yet such danger is not unavoidable; one can escape it if he understands that the time demands that he pay especial attention to small and insignificant things.
Seems like an apt summary of the above. Extraordinary caution indeed. About what? I don't know. But the message is clear.
And lastly,
43 with lines 2 and 5 active.
Breaking through. Line 2 is positioned with readiness so as to be armed when the danger comes, so as to dwell within difficulties as though they did not exist. It spreads the cry of alarm, and avoids the obstacle ahead. Line 5 is positioned right next to the obstacle and is made responsible for ensuring it eradicates it, otherwise it has blame.
Perhaps my withdrawal here is such that I am avoiding such a conflict to come and avoiding positioning myself in such a role.
This is fitting for my path. Once upon a time I, like many others, contributed a technology to Atlantis. This technology became responsible for enabling free energy to this society. At which point a faction split off from the spiritual path and lived on, enabled by the exploitation of free energy. I felt responsible and took on the role of 43 line 5, in an attempt to help this society to course correct. And when it failed to do so and destroyed itself, my soul carried the guilt and responsibility for this.
In subsequent lifetimes I either denied myself my power, or I would take up my power, but only in the name of justice. I was a knight of the round table and a knight templar. And yet as a warrior of justice, I could not find peace. Eventually I spent the more recent lifetimes as a woman in monastic settings, so that I could learn about the value of yin-ness, receptivity, and its role in peacefulness.
In this lifetime, as a male again, I was born with my Chiron squared to my nodal axis. My past life aquarian justice comes easy, and my Mars is there as well. I have spend the past 2 years learning to sheath that sword and not be an advocate for inequalities in my living situations, and eventually I also learned to keep that sword sheathed in inequalities in my workplace. Now I learn to keep that sword sheathed in matters of societal responsibility. The direction of my destiny lies in the Leo side of things, in my 12th house. Where I work toward spiritual oneness. The 12th house is spiritual. Leo is singular. And my Chiron in Taurus near my 10th house/carreer, is where I learn to mediate between these two paths via my healing work. Finally, I am leaving behind the aquarian side of things to become more rooted in the healing that is more spiritual in nature and less based on the past need for justice.
In a reading I was told that I am not the hand of justice. That I am justice.
I don't fully understand this yet. All I know is that in following my path, I tend to end up placed squarely in the middle of situations. If I try to draw my sword of advocating for what is just and fair from a perspective of righteousness, it is just that warrior path all over gain. But all is one and the need we have today is to learn how to harmonize such that all things can coexist. Like a refined ecosystem that enables the evolution of life within its delicate balance. So for me, whatever this justice is that I am, as named by my dear spiritual mother who resides on the karmic board, is not a justice that I wield, but that seems to come together simply based on my own need to navigate forward as a warrior of peace. Whatever situations I find myself in, must be navigated with the intent for this harmony between all things.
And so I move forward.
Having written all of the above,
37 with line 3 active.
The line that holds the family together by its discipline. When the family goes to excess in indulgence, misfortune comes. Sometimes discipline feels severe, like the laws we have in society. But without them we would not hold together.
I suppose that is my justice. Residing in between, not yet centrally positioned, but able to manifest good fortune for the family through acting for the benefit of the whole.
13 with line 5 active.
Sounds about right.
🙏

We’re currently working on 3.12.4 which will likely be the last patch in the 3.12 “Andromeda” cycle. Summer approaches, and with it, team vacations.

A Storm is Brewing

Winds in the fall will bring us the 3.13 “Vela” update, and with it, Cosmic Storms.
Vela is the constellation representing the sails of the Argo Navis, the ship on which Jason and the Argonauts sailed to get the Golden Fleece. We thought it a fitting name for an expansion relating to galactic weather.
As a bit of a sneak peek, I’ll show you some screenshots from the game I’m currently playing.
Note: I cranked up the frequency and intensity of storms up to the absolute max for this run, so a normal galaxy should be a bit more chill.
The storm map mode will make it easier to see what systems are under the effects of storms.
In system view, you’ll see the glowies.
Prediction technologies can help you figure out where the storms may be going.
That’s *probably* the path it will take, if nothing interferes with it. I wonder if Teersonia will be hit?

What’s Next (in the Short Term)

Next week is Sweden’s National Day, so our next dev diary will be June 13th, which I’m currently penciling in as a possible 3.12.4 release date.
See you in two weeks!

How's the EVE course at IIITD? Although the institute is known for its Hectic curriculum and EVE branch being the toughest doesn't help either, I'd like to know if there exists a work-life balance?, Do we get any free time to try out coding on our own? Is it better to join IIITD EVE even if you're interested in IT related stuff. Also does taking up electives such as AI/ML help in IT related placements? Please guide me! I'd appreciate if any senior can DM me.
