Many physicians, mid-level providers, practice managers, administrators, billers and front desk staff members have questions about coding. Today's demand for certified professional coders (CPCs) is growing as many jobs in the coding and billing field now require certification. Health care professionals involved in coding, compliance, billing, administration and reimbursement aspects of medicine should be certified as part of a compliance program.

2024.05.17 10:59 Head_Apricot4667 Medical Billing - Credentialing - EHR - EMR - PM - Software Development Services

Hello, Happy Friday!
I recently joined Reddit and found it a very interesting forum, I have seen people posting their issues, and asking for recommendations and it's great to be here with a community that loves helping people.
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, my name is Usama Mali, and I am from Lahore, Pakistan.
I have been working as an RCM personnel for the last 8 years and have learned a lot in this field, starting from charge entry, payment posting, AR, credentialing, meeting with clients, doing Enrollments with the clearinghouse, setting up new clients in EHR software, etc.
My journey has been a roller coaster but I truly enjoyed this field as it's vast and I learn new things almost daily.
I have been working with Adnare since the start, started as a data processor now I am a Partner. One of the reasons for this post is, that I have been seeing posts where the group members are finding Medical Billing companies that are reliable, or need help with Credentialing etc. Please know that I am available to help, for a free consultation and one of the services my company offers is free Audit.
Before we start work, we first dig deep into the processes, AR etc to see what are the issues, we then discuss those with clients, educate them if needed, get approvals if the processes need to be changed, assign proper team members including a manager, team leads and a qualified team, proper Audit is been done every week/month, results are shared with the client, weekly/monthly reports are also shared with the clients according to their needs.
If anyone has any questions or needs any help, I would be more than happy to help, below is my information.

2024.05.17 10:50 KPWatchdog "How Kaiser Permanente Providers Are Paid": Official Kaiser Explanation

This document on the Kaiser Permanente website is short, but it says a lot about how the Kaiser system operates: https://healthy.kaiserpermanente.org/content/dam/kporg/final/documents/health-plan-documents/coverage-information/how-kaiser-permanente-providers-are-paid-ca-en.pdf
Keep in mind that this is a Kaiser-prepared document that is "sanitized." For example, it omits the key point that Kaiser Medical Groups are FOR-PROFIT.
This section drew my attention: "Every month, the Health Plan prepays the Medical Group a set dollar amount for each member enrolled. This payment method is called “capitation.” The Medical Group receives this payment for each enrolled member whether or not the member seeks or receives services during that month."
Those two sentences tell you most of what you need to know about Kaiser. Kaiser basically is a monthly premium collection business that happens to provide a few health care services on the side. Kaiser Primary Care Physicians do NOT want to hear from you, let alone address your medical concerns. The profit-maximizing action is to discourage Kaiser members from seeking ANY services whatsoever in any given month. The Kaiser system likes the six-week lag time between making appointments and seeing a physician because that is one more month that they can claim "capitation" payments without providing medical services.
None of this is surprising. There is the famous White House audio recording of a conversation between President Richard Nixon and advisor John Ehrlichman in 1971 concerning the Kaiser Permanente business model: "All the incentives are toward less medical care, because … the less care they give them, the more money they make.” https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Transcript_of_taped_conversation_between_President_Richard_Nixon_and_John_D._Ehrlichman_%281971%29_that_led_to_the_HMO_act_of_1973:
That webpage about physician compensation apparently exists because it was a condition of lawsuit settlements in 2003. See: https://consumerwatchdog.org/uncategorized/kaiser-agrees-disclose-physician-guidelines-compensation-settle-suits/ (Thanks to CyclingRealtor for his/her post about the 2003 lawsuit settlements.)
After decades (a lifetime more-or-less) in the Kaiser system, I've concluded that too many Kaiser personnel today (especially physicians) really and truly do NOT want to see Kaiser members. They didn't know or care who you were before you set foot in their medical offices and they would be happy if they never saw you ever again in their lives. To too many Kaiser personnel, Kaiser members are just nameless, faceless sources of monthly "capitation" payments and are an unwelcome burden on the rare occasion when they request medical services.
A "good" Kaiser member pays his/her monthly premium bill and demands NOTHING from the Kaiser system ... until age 65 when Kaiser and its greedy for-profit Medical Groups and Hospitals can start "milking" the Medicare system.

2024.05.17 10:13 Ivypearl Took my dog to the best veterinary hospital in our area, they missed her severely advanced dental disease…. twice….

Located in CA
I took my 9 yr old lab Ivy to the vet for an emergency visit in the beginning of March. Our regular vet couldn’t take her so we had to go to the 24/7 animal hospital. They are excellent and I was willing to pay for whatever they needed to do to help ivy.
She had been very obviously sick and in pain, puking, diarrhea, not wanting to eat. They did an ultrasound, blood panel, urinalysis, fluids, meds. They found elevated liver enzymes and ketones in her urine. She was so sick they wanted to hospitalize her overnight. I asked what they would be doing and they said monitoring. I asked if I could just monitor her myself at home and bring her back right away if she gets worse? They gave me a couple prescriptions and sent us home. -$1729
I didn’t realize until the next day they didn’t give us any pain meds or anything to help Ivy’s eating (I’d tried seriously all the bland diet options, she didn’t want any of it) I went back to get her pain meds and prescription food, and the girl says they forgot to charge me for something else so she added that on too. -$150
Ivy was getting better slowly but still not her normal happy self at all. Sad, droopy eyes, wanting to sit curled up in my lap like a baby 😭 I kept doing everything they said and I took her back about a month later to check her levels again. We saw the vet, then went back out to the busy lobby to wait until someone came out to tell me the results or medications or whatever. So I sat in the lobby and waited, I asked a few times for updates bc I needed to get back to work. After 3 hours I asked if they could check and see what was going on.
There was another dog named Ivy there that morning and the receptionist closed out MY Ivy’s account (and charged the other lady’s card -$566 of my charges). I was annoyed and paid my bill (non-itemized invoice bc she couldn’t find mine) and Ivy and I went straight to work. Ivy is my service dog and sleeps under my desk.
They said the liver enzymes and urine ketone levels were both back to a normal level which was great news. They still couldn’t really give me a clear answer as to what could’ve caused all of this, sometimes they eat things, or just get sick, whatever. She said a slow recovery was normal bc livepancreas stuff is unpredictable, painful, and can take a while to heal.
The hospital’s office called me the next day to apologize for making me wait so long and reimbursed $316 (the liver panel, I think, I don’t have an itemized invoice). They offered this without me asking which I really appreciated.
Ivy has still been sick, but definitely better than when I first took her in. She was still acting sad, no interest in her favorite things. I knew she was in pain and brought her to a different vet last week.
Dr.S had been Ivy’s vet most of her life at our regular vet’s office - we love him. He left and started his own practice, and I just found his new location is 15 minutes away from my house!! It was kind of secretive when he left the other place, I think out of respect for the owners and not take half the clients with him. Anyway, I was really happy to find him again, I fully trust him. He was Ivy’s vet at her 8-week old visit, did her spay, all of it. Ivy is scared of men she doesn’t know and she loves Dr. S.
He took a look in her mouth and was like Whoa! Found it! He saw one badly rotten and cracked tooth in the back and wanted to get scheduled for removal right away. I bought the senior wellness plan for -$998. I was quoted $1200-1600 for surgery. (He was also going to remove a large benign mass from her side since she’d be under anesthesia already, I’d been wanting to do this for a few years so this is something I wanted him to do also)
This Tuesday was surgery day. He ended up removing 3 teeth, a molar on each side, and a front tooth that was cracked and broken off (I knew about this, I’d been told it wasn’t anything to be concerned about).
He said one of the molars and the front tooth both had exposed roots, the back one had an abscess and the root was touching the bone. He asked if I wanted the pictures bc it was really interesting and you don’t usually see it so advanced 😞 He said this is definitely what has been hurting her and making it hard to eat. He said they must have not looked in Ivy's mouth at all if they didn’t notice it- twice??
He didn’t have enough time to remove the mass. He said he wasn’t comfortable keeping her under any longer due to her age and blood pressure levels. Unless it grows rapidly we’re leaving it for now.
-$350 for everything this day, including surgery time & anesthesia, full dental cleaning & sealant, office visit, sedated nail trim, medications, canned soft food, heart worm testing, some other stuff included with the senior wellness package.
It’s been two days since she got her teeth out and she’s already smiling again. She was jumping around and trying to play with her brother (cat) and she only does that when she’s really excited!! Ivy is the best dog I could ever ask for. Seeing her in pain has been so hard, because I couldn’t help her!! I was trying everything but it wasn’t working. I’m so glad we found it and I think she will be able to get better now. I wasn’t so sure for awhile there.
I called the hospital place and told them what I found out and asked what happened. How could they have missed this- TWICE? The girl was really nice and agreed this was a “very valid concern” and asked me to explain everything to her and she would talk to the medical director, try to get some answers for me, and get back to me. She asked what I wanted the resolution to be. I said I thought it would be appropriate to ask for all of my charges to be refunded in relation to this event over the past couple months including Dr. S’s charges.
She called me back when I was at dinner so I missed her call.
Is this right? I don’t know what I’m looking for, feedback, reassurance, guidance? This is malpractice, right??
I talked to Dr.S’s receptionist today, she’s going to send me the photos and a breakdown of charges between the wellness plan and what I had done, try to make sense of what would be appropriate to ask them to refund. I kinda also want to ask them for $200 flat to reimburse the food/groceries spent trying to get her to eat, literally anything I could try on her bland diet, I tried! I don’t have receipts but I know I spent a shit ton of money as Ivy’s short order cook the last couple months. (Today she scarfed down her regular food for the first time in forever, I cried). Is this pushing it too far? Should I just take whatever they offer me?
What about the fact Ivy spent 2 1/2 months in pain & suffering from the time I brought her in to the day Dr. S did her surgery? She has lost weight, and has been pretty obviously miserable the whole time.
Thanks for reading.

2024.05.17 09:58 OverallAlbatross8627 Boss not paying on time

Hi everyone/ anyone who can help
I’m currently a sole trader working/ sub contracting to someone in Auckland. I am in the trades.
I say sub contracting but I don’t do any work for anybody else and only work for the same person, so technically by some standards in NZ I am an employee.
My current boss is having financial trouble at the moment and has not been paying me on time and sometimes it will be weeks before I get paid (3-4 weeks)
I’m just wondering what if any action I can take to do something about this?
I have a young family and can’t afford to just leave in the current times we are living in. I have bills and mouths to feed.
Everybody gets paid fortnightly but lately he has just been making random excuses and telling me he can’t pay me because of X Y Z reason.
I think in NZ there is a grey area between sole trade employee and as sole traders if we wear the uniform, only work for the one company and work a certain percentage of our time for the same company every week we are basically employees.
I’m kind of just trying to find a way to get my boss to pay me on time like everyone else so I can afford to live.
Any advise would be helpful.
Thanks

2024.05.17 09:50 Interesting-Food-175 Deciding to Start my own Brokerage, Sep 1st STM changes, etc

I decided to be an entrepreneur in 2009 when I dropped out of college to get into sales and somehow it lead me to the insurance business.
The funny thing is over the years I always told myself I would never sell insurance because who wants to sell a piece of paper to people. Now, I am realizing how much more it is than just a piece of paper. Once I got into the industry I realized how much I needed to learn and am still learning. We are in such a vast business with so many different parts of the business. I got into health insurance just as we are seeing the restriction to short term medical policies going to (STM) 4 months. There are always parts of the business changing like this. I am wondering how other agents have found success and how they have adapted, shifted, and changed over the years to run a profitable business all while maintaining a work/life balance….
My questions here are for other agency owners and independent agents alike, what else should I be selling? Should I just focus on one thing in the beginning?
Who else should I be trying to connect with? Where are the segments in the market place I should be looking for right now?
When I do not have any marketing budget what should I do?
I am just ust trying to gather some general information here to get an overall perspective on what to expect.
When things get slow how do you stop from panicking? How do you get everything to work together all at once and like a smooth running engine? What are common pitfalls?
I have noticed that a lot of books take time to reap the rewards in this business, so what else can we sell in the short term to make good money up front to keep everything going besides life?
Where can I get direct contracts for Auto, Home, and Life etc. Where are some good places to buy leads?
Everyone wants volume but is there a way around that if your just running the business correctly overtime?
I am a really looking for any advice I can get as a new agency owner.
Advice, option, mindset, mentorship, connections, anything…..
Thanks….

2024.05.17 09:25 KulangotsaPader1989 I stopped rendering overtimes at work (no advise needed, just sharing)

I (32M) have been with my currently company for about 7 years. At within those periods, I have been promoted twice na. Initially, di ko inexpect na magtatagal ako sa company na to because when I started working here, I only aimed to stay for 6 months lang kasi may "promise" sa akin yung previous company ko after my end of contract.
So until na hindi ako binalikan, and I was fairly treated naman rin, I decided to stay na lang. And besides, nakakatamad maglakad ng paulit ulit sa mga requirements for pre-employment. Nauubusan na ko ng lakas at pasensya. Char!
While being in the company for quite some time now, it was never really my goal to get promoted talaga. Gusto ko lang, nagtatrabaho ako, and sumasahod ng maayos. Started my way from rank & file, tapos naangat as a specialist. Then I was offered to apply as a supervisor. Lo and behold, nakuha ako for the position! This came as a great surprise for me kasi I wasn't really pushing na makuha ko. I presented myself well during the interview, and gave my sample work to show I can contribute sa bagong team. Went far and beyond my job description para mapatunayan na I was serious for the position. Of course, mega OT si kumag kasi nakita nya na ganun ang culture haha!
So within the 3 years of being in the supervisory post, many of the days and night, nangailangang mag todo sa pag OT. Kasi sa simula ng bagong team, iilan pa lang kami. We only started having supports after almost 6 months upon the creation sa team namin kaya sobra ang workload per members. Until na nagkaroon na ng team members, medyo gumaan naman. We were able to lessen our burden, pero madalas parin kaming mag OT. We would render no less than 2 hours kasi ng majority of our tasks, kinapa pa muna namin bago namin nagamay ng husto. At times, I can say na we attributed our team's success with all the extra work na ginagawa namin. Pero when they have opened a managerial position, of which I was actually promised to have given na nga with my tenure in the company, and also the knowledge in the process.
I am using the word "promised" kasi may nakuha na for the position, and I was talked to getting the next available managerial post once magkaroon ng opening. I was fine with it, no biggie. All fair naman with the recruiting process eh. That's when I notices myself taking less overtimes at work, and doing a maximum of 30 minutes to 1 hour na OT. There would still be moments na may additional especially kapag mga last minutes na asked by other departments or team. Di rin naman maiiwasan yun.
Pero fast forward to a few months before na umalis yung senior manager namin and yung manager na directly akong reporting, nag pasa ng resignation. So nagkaroon ulit ng opening. Di rin naman nag abiso ang mga bosses na magkakaroon ng opening, assuming na mag coconduct ulit ng interviews to those interested to apply. Pero when the leaders where already leaving the company, nagkapilian na pala ng mga susunod sa yapak. Ok no, roleta ang pilian? Only to find out na yung kinuha nilang bagong manager hasn't been with the company for quite some time. And this manager has been with some lapses rin. Di ko naman sinasabing perfect ako sa position ko ha. Sinasabi ko lang naman hahaha!
And I had siguro the longest conversation sa senior manager ko what has transpired sa decision process nila. And I was ok with it. Di naman ako galit. Siguro, sumama lang yung loob ko kasi parang I was placed on the side, knowing na ginawa ko naman lahat ng magagawa ko para maqualify ako sa trabaho. Pero of course, wala naman ako sa time ng decision making. And I wasn't even presented an offer. So, ano ba alam ko, diba?
At the beginning of the new management, medyo nahirapan kami sa isa't isa. Of course daming rough patches na di ineexpect. Tapos may mga ibang process na nagbago kaya kapaan ulit. So the relationship that I had with my new manager at the beginning was not so smooth. Napapagalitan madalas, and had to be corrected at times. (Ako po, hindi sya). Pero nagkalaunan, umayos rin naman. And we got the rhythm on each other's workaround sa mga processes na hawak namin.
But there is one thing na talagang nag resonate sakin during our coaching/touchbase namin sa mga ongoing projects and tasks. Sinabi nya: "If you feel na di mo matatapos agad within the work day yung certain task na hindi urgent, ipag-pabukas mo na lang. We need rin our rest para di natin maabuso yung katawan natin. Imbes na we are working for our families, pagbabayaran pa ng health natin yung pag overwork natin." And I somehow understand na di ko pala need abusuhin sarili ko para lang masabi kong "ubos na workload" ko. It only shows how poor sometimes our time management bakit di natin natatapos lahat within the 8 hours work day. And my previous resentment sa manager ko was dissepated dahil sa sinabi nya. Di naman talaga mauubusan ng trabaho. Nandyan na yan eh. Pero it's all about how to manage your time and tasks wisely. So there, I don't render overtime na so much kasi I learned to take care of myself muna. And I have grown to spend more time with my family imbes na nakababad ako sa trabaho. And I love it how I have learned to love that idea rin.

2024.05.17 09:21 Carpet_Redd214 2 steps ruined the next 6 months of my life

2 steps ruined the next 6 months of my life
I haven’t been able to find a similar story so I’m sharing for anyone who in the future does, or for anyone who has suggestions and comments. on the job injury, workers comp involved
4/23 I had on chest high waders walking through waist deep water in a bayou collecting samples. Long story short, I tripped and fell, sliced my knee from side to side, down to the bone I would later find out, on an unknown object under water. I could not bear any weight on my left knee at this point and I could feel the warmth from it bleeding. Fast forward over first aid and transport..(Nightmare) Hospital performed an x-ray, flushed it out (OUCH), sutured approx 15 internal and surface stitches and told me I possibly cut the patellar tendon. I could not move or raise my leg still. They wrapped it up sent me home with crutches and told me to see a specialist asap. No pain medicine.. gosh that was rough! And ER doctors aren’t the nicest.
Between the 24th and May 8th, I traveled back home, found a doctor, had an initial visit with a general doctor and then an orthopedic doctor. An MRI was taken, and pain medication prescribed. thank god! The MRI results showed a 90% to near complete rupture of the patellar tendon, more like completely severed, and an acute fracture somewhere, can’t remember the exact terminology. Surgery is/was the only option for repair.
May 8th surgery day- Surgeon reused the same laceration for repair. He mentioned it was a clean cut and whatever was under water was SHARP. I Was sent home with a brace with 60% extension. No weight bearing for 2 weeks or until follow up, and to not use my quad muscle as much as possible. Oh and I was able to bonus an ice water machine. Game changer for sure!
I am about 8 days post surgery and the pain has been real! But the boredom, confinement, and lack of independence has been even more challenging! Tough actually. I’m normally a physically active person with a physically demanding job, so all this down time has been tough. The pain medicine makes me itch like crazy and drowsy so I don’t like taking them. BUT the pain really catches up if I don’t take them. I’m in this constant battle of do I wanna be groggy and snooze all day or be awake and suffer though the pain.
Questions I have: will I heal similar to a tear? Is my type of injury worse or better in terms of healing and long term health? Does anyone else have muscle spasms I their quad, mine ache like crazy? What about recovery.. when can I sit in a chair normally again?!!!! Any recommendations oh how to work from home on a computer when I can’t bend my knee to sit down??
Any suggestions, comments, or fun stories are appreciated!

2024.05.17 09:17 elle_0830 Swollen cervical lymph node that “puffs up” when upper back pain occurs.

31 F. No medical hx. No meds.
I’ve had upper left shoulder back pain for a few years now. It wakes me up out of my sleep sometimes and I literally just roll around in pain until ibuprofen kicks in so I can fall back asleep. Sometimes it keeps me up for hours. The pain is an crampy ache, like I desperately need my back cracked. When this pain occurs I notice the lymph node on the back of my neck to the left gets big and hard. It’s in between the size of a dime and Nickel. When the pain goes away, the lymph node goes down in size but is still palpable.
Initially, I brought up this lymph node to my PCP. Had an ultrasound and neck CT done with contrast that showed I had multiple other lymph nodes in my neck that were large but not of concerning enough size. I had that specific lymph node biopsied and they got more fat than actual lymph node but the small sample they got seemed normal. Labs seemed normal outside of a mildly elevated ESR. They recommended me getting another biopsy if the lymph node was still there in 3 months. Well, three months later it was still there obviously since it’s been there for years but didn’t grow in size so the doctor didn’t want to do another biopsy and said it would probably go away in time.
It’s never gone away. The pain still comes and goes and I have no idea what to do about it. Curious to see if anyone has had a similar issue? Ibuprofen 800 helps a little and so does icy hot. I was prescribed flexeril but all it does is make me sleepy and does absolutely nothing for the back pain. In fact , I feel like it makes it worse. I feel like my pain is dismissed and I’m miserable when the pain starts.
Any advice ?

2024.05.17 09:15 No-Estimate-4215 Can’t afford 3000$ surgery for my baby. vet recommended pineapple juice 😐

So me and my boyfriend‘s bunny started acting really weird yesterday so we took her to the vet to see what was up. They did an x-ray and found a large hairball blocking her stomach and quoted us $3000 for a surgery to remove it. we are both 17 and in no way would ever be able to afford a $3000 vet bill. So we asked for any other option and she said to force-feed pineapple juice and gave us some intravenous fluids but said she is still likely to die without the surgery.
So I get home and start doing research because that’s how I am. And I discover that pineapple juice for dislodging hairballs has been widely refuted and can even do damage. she didn’t mention anything about critical care or motility medication or painkillers. I don’t know what to do. after reading some posts, I bought some pumpkin purée to make a blend with her hay and water. I also might buy some baby gas drops because they said she was starting to have a buildup of gas.
however, sunstone in my other pics suspected they misread the radiograph because she had passed a few gooey poops and ate a strand or two of hay, so it may not be a full blockage like they said.
for the past few hours i have been slowly syringe feeding her the mixture i made, along with water. her ears are cold so i have kept her draped in a heated blanket bc i fear hypothermia. i have also been massaging her tummy gently and i can feel and work out some gas bubbles. if anyone has any other ideas please help. i really don’t want her to die. :(
she is a large mix breed bun about 5 lbs

2024.05.17 09:12 sillycat23 Got surprised billed not long ago; turns out apparently provider may have billed wrong insurance ?

I am in Pennsylvania and currently use Keystone First Medicaid as health insurance. Not long ago, I received a notification that I had a statement balance of $400+ for medical services I had received. It made no sense as it was only a few appointments that were coming up with balances, and the insurance listed (Independence Blue Cross) I had zero knowledge of having, zero information for, haven’t used anything like IBX in several years. These were all services from 5-9 months prior; no documented billing issues before then or after said appointments. I removed the insurances from the portal and now things are resolved for future appointments, but these appointments remain outstanding per the provider. I was told that these were “in processing” on the end of billing operators for my provider quite some time ago, however it does not seem to be updating and I’m wondering what the next steps will be. I cannot financially pay said portions at all (I have zero copays for my visits) and either way I will not pay something I do not truly owe. What are my rights here? Next steps? Since at the time of being billed it was more than 5-6 months since the appointments, am I now ineligible for reimbursement/claim approval even though I have no record of having/using any other insurances on file or used for anything.

2024.05.17 09:10 Superman3690 Can Large Language Models (LLMs) Enhance ECG Data Analysis?

I was recently diagnosed with premature ventricular contractions (PVC), which means my heart sometimes beats abnormally. To monitor this, my doctor has attached a device to my chest to record my ECG over several days. One intriguing aspect of this process is the lengthy time it takes to decode and analyze the ECG data, as the doctor must meticulously review the recordings.
This got me thinking about the potential role of AI, specifically Large Language Models (LLMs), in streamlining this analysis. Traditionally, time series models paired with explainer modules might suffice for generating initial reports from ECG data, which are then refined using a template. However, could LLMs offer further enhancements or efficiencies in processing or interpreting these data sets?
For instance, LLMs could potentially:
  1. Provide more nuanced interpretations of the data by integrating medical literature and patient history.
  2. Generate more detailed, understandable reports directly for patients and doctors.
  3. Assist in identifying patterns or anomalies that are less obvious to traditional models.
I’m curious about other perspectives or insights on how LLMs might be used in medical data analysis, particularly for time series data like ECGs. Could they indeed make the decoding process faster or provide richer insights?

2024.05.17 09:07 OkEntertainment420 Im done.

Im 1m post partum. I have a 4 year old i avoid and a 1 month old i cater to. I cannot leave my house. I have not left my home since i had my child. I cannot leave because my vehicles are not legal and a few traffic warrants i have. Between bills and what not we just cannot squeeze the tickets in. My boyfriends checks just keep getting smaller, he wont get a new job. He is on probation, not doing what he needs to do. Missing meetings etc. i ask for 1 day a week with him. He tells me “he cooks at work, he doesnt want to cook at home too” i ask for one night. I am alone. Im beyond alone. My second child isnt his. Weve been together for 5 years but we had a split and saw other people and i got pregnant, my boufriend is her dad and the only dad she knows but not her bio. So he doesnt help much and tries to avoid. Its understandable. I try to give him everything he wants, between the sex life and our life i just try to be that women for him. He wont marry me- he says he doesnt want anything on paper , he wont put me first. Im just alone. Im always alone. He works, he comes home, he says were hanging out but its not. Tonight he made me dinner but i had to wait for when he wanted to make it . Then he compared me to another women and made me feel terrible about myself . I was really looking forward to a getaway weekend next weekend without our kids that we havnt had a break from in over 6 months. Which now isnt happening because of him. Everything is just ruined . My body is gross, my brain is constantly foggy , i have no partner, i live in a house i hate, i try to love it, but i hate it. My belly just wont go away, my arms are fat. I feel disgusting. My doctor wont give me medication without seeing me and i cant leave. I literally have the stuff in my Walmart cart to just end it all for me. I could never hurt my girls. But there has to be something better than this. I cant stay in this house anymore. I cant live this life anymore. I just wanna be done. Theres nothing stopping me from ordering it anymore. I feel crazy. I just screamed and laid on my bathroom floor and cried to him and he just said “ this post partum shit has to go”
I just feel like i need to go. Im never gonna be normal again.

2024.05.17 09:06 Ok_Tax_7346 Coming to Terms with It

I’m a 29 year old man. I was born deaf. Growing up in South Dakota in the early 2000s, I never even knew what autism was. I grew up around non deaf people. I was always a “weird” person, but when I was a kid, I was bullied a lot. I was beaten quite a bit, and masking quickly became my means for survival. I ended up taking up boxing and got really good at it. I didn’t have to mask as much because I could fight well and I became very obnoxious and over confident, but it was all false confidence based in insecurity. As an adult I get super into drugs and alcohol. Meth got me one felony, some dabs got me another and I was on probation for 5 of the last 7 years. Alcohol was always the main stay, as I’d remained a heavy alcoholic from 18-29. Finally, on December 22nd of last year I finally decided to quit drinking.
With that I’ve been forced to look inwards instead of running from my problems at the bottom of a bottle. I’ve come to realize that I’m autistic and that my being deaf has covered a lot of what would be noticeable for a hearing persons diagnosis. I’ve spent several months reading in depth about how autism affects people and I’m just in awe how much I’m learning about myself. I’ve spent my whole life trying to figure out what the fuck is wrong with me. It was this thing I couldn’t put my finger on, but I knew I’m not like the other kids; that feeling like nobody was going to understand me because I couldn’t even understand myself. And now I finally know what it is.
And that’s where I’m at. I’m doing some baby step little shit in regards to working on myself and learning to understand myself better, which is awesome and I do feel like I’m coping with myself better as time passes. But I’m struggling pretty hard still. Executive dysfunction rules my time off from work. Money seems to slip from right between my fingers while I procrastinate paying my bills.
I haven’t been diagnosed or even mentioned it to a medical professional. I want to go in and start getting therapy but I don’t even know what that even entails or even if the doctor is going to think I’m autistic or necessarily be helpful. I’m just absolutely terrified of what each following day is going to bring. At the end of it, I’m just kind of left feeling as lost as I’ve always felt.
Thanks for reading this if you’ve read this far (if you’re reading this, you’ve definitely read this far) and I appreciate any feedback I get

2024.05.17 08:50 Suitable-Pin-3284 Medical receipts current tax year

Hey, I have had some extremely large medical bills between Feb and now of this current tax year 2024. I put a claim in for these with revenue two weeks ago. I was expecting a bank transfer back or them to issue new tax credit certificate but nothing as of yet. I know for prior tax years it’s lump sum on claim but does anyone know what way it works if claiming current tax year in real time? Thanks.

2024.05.17 08:49 nikkivictoria mom’s husband not willing to fill out FAFSA

Hello! so my mom (45) is finally getting her GED and wants to go to college for medical billing. she filled out the FAFSA but after getting to the part where her husband has to step in- he suddenly refused. he’s not going to do anything to help her. Is there a way she can still do it without him??? I’m so proud of her for this and now it’s being taken away from her and it’s not fair.
