2024.05.29 07:51 More_Arm704 My JEE journey

Hi Everyone. Today I want to share a very special journey with you – My JEE journey. This has been a roller coaster ride filled with ups and down, & I hope my story can inspire and help some of you who are in this same route.

So, We all know that JEE is one of the toughest exams in India. & It’s the gateway to some of the best engineering colleges I n the country. My journey began in around Aug 2022, after my 12th boards. Yes, I have started my journey in my drop year. Usse pehle JEE ke bare me kuch khas malum nahi tha. So, after 12th boards I have started my journey, being confused and lost in study materials and video lectures. Yeah. I don’t have any guide also :’).
So, charo taraf bhatakne ke baad JEE 2023 1st attempt se 3-4 mahine pehle maine Vedantu channel ko discover kiya. Waha Arvind bhai, tamatar sir and dost ke videos dekhke samajh aaya main kitna peeche hu. So, piche tha but maine haar nahi maani. I have started again from scratch. Sach kahu, mere basics ekdum strong nahi the. Pura heela hua tha andar se . So dikkat to hui pehle, but jab vedantu ne rudra series ko launch kiya, tab thodi ummed jaagi ki nahi, abhi bhi picture baaki hai.
So, rudra seires ko follow karne laga, about 40-50% ke baad ekdum follow nahi kar paya, kyunki mere basics hi ekdum kamzor the. So, a free advice, pne basics ko kabhi kamzor mat rahne dena 😊).
Aisehi girte padhte Oneshots marathon sessions se guzar te huye JEE 2023 complete hua. Aur kuch khas results nahi aaye. Only 77%le. But luckily EWS category ki wajah se JEE adv ke liye select ho gaya. Tab socha jab moka mil raha hai, tab baithne me kya dikkat hai. So, I study only 1 month for JEE adv , and score only 24 marks. I know it’s low but I was happy ki maine koshish ki.
Phir moka aaya JEE 2024 ka, Ab maine than li, ki pehle ache se basics strong karunga then baki sab. Tab Arvind bhai and dost ne JEE Nexus youtube channel ki shurwat kari thi, to waha se Maths aur chem padhta tha aur vedantu se phy. Ayse karte karte kuch mahine beeta. Then, Ache se revision na karne ke karan pichle padha hua sab bhulta bhi ja raha tha.
Aur issi waqt mujhe yeh mauka mile, outlier banne ka. Maine Outlier 23 batch ka interview diya and luckily I had selected. Uske baad mera mindset badalne laga. Result oriented se process oriented zyada banne laga “Karm kiye ja phal ki chinta mat kar” wala concept build hone laga. Aur pehle se zyada discipline rahne laga. Pehle bohot padhai me din gap ho jata tha procrastination me, iss batch ke karan woh procrastination bhi kam hone laga. Ab ummed aayi ki iss bar to zarur acha result aayega.
I know aap log yeh soch rahe ho ki itna mehnat kar raha hu, to obvioiusly Koi na koi NIT to mil hi jayegi. But upar wale ko shayad kuch aur Manzoor tha. Mera JEE 24 me percentile bana only 83.7%le. I know pichle saal se thoda zyada hai, but Itna nahi ki NIT mil jaye. Sadly, I have failed again in JEE mains. And as a double dropper, I have lost the opportunity to give JEE Adv.
Sach me bohot dukh hua, itni mehnat ke baad bhi result kuch nahi aya. But isi tough time se larne ke liye hi to hume sikhaya gaya iss Outliers batch me. Iss batch me join hone ke wajah se mera mindset change hua, aur iss failure ko bhi ek +ve side se dekhne laga ‘Jo bhi hota hai, ache ke liye hota hai.’ Shayad iss kharab result ke piche bhi koi reason hoga jo mujhe abhi samajh nahi aa raha but baad me jake samajh aayega.

Ab 1 month me WBJEE tha. This was my last chance to prove myself. To show my potential. So, Inn akhir ke 1 month me maine jam ke taiyari ki. Pichla result bhulke maine present pe focus kiya. PYQs solving, mock test ache se diya. Aur WBJEE 2024 me maine 44.6 marks score kiya ( previous year ke according iss marks me 9-10K rank bana tha).
So, this was my JEE journey. Looking back to this journey taught me so much more than just rank and marks. It taught me the importance of hardwork, consistence effort. Shayad JEE me utna acha nahi kar paya. But I’m sure. Life ke har chote bare chunoti ke liye maine larna seekh liya.

2024.05.21 13:33 halfhumanhalfgoddess Ek lakh ki bhains!

Main tuitions deti hoon primary class ke bachchon ko. Mere tuition mein ek ladki aati thi woh 5th class mein thi aur uska Chhota Bhai 1st class mein.
Ek baar mujhe us ladki ne kaha, ma'am humare pas ek lakh ki bhains hai, aapko kharid ni hai? I said, no.
Phir 10-15 din ke baad phir usne mujhse wahi question puchha, ma'am humare pas ek lakh ki bhains hai, aapko kharid ni hai? I said, no again.
Phir usne mujhse woh same question puchha ek month ek baad. Mera answer same tha. She kept asking kuch 3-4 baad aur puchha.
Phir vacation ho gaya aur woh log apne gaon chale gaye.
He said, woh farm pe gayi hain.
Story thodi funny hoti agar yeh question maine uski behan se puchha hota.
Edit- har story ka koi moral ho yeh jaroori nahi hai but if want the moral of the story then here it is.
Moral- koi aapko kitna bhi apni cheez bechne ki koshish kare agar nahi chahiye toh mat kharido.

2024.04.13 22:19 PhilosopherHeavy5032 Govt 's approach to indo china border was terrible between 2004 and 2014

Context

China claims arunachal pradesh to be part of china because it is south of tibet and Tibet is a part of china ( according to china ofc) so naturally arunachal pradesh should also be part of china

what NE states lacked

NE always lacked infrastructural development . For a good border we need transport corridors to keep the supply in case of war .
We should have focused on building roads and bridges in arunachal pradesh but we didn't . For maintaining any border we need good transport system.
This is why china was actually furious when we sped up the development process in NE .
during that time period look at infrastructural development in arunachal pradesh. why do you think china was quite during that period and suddenly became aggressive when we hasten the infrastructural development.
look what our minister said about it
"During the period from 2004 to 2014, the lack of significant road infrastructure development in Arunachal Pradesh was often attributed to strategic considerations. The Defense Minister at the time, A.K. Antony, did make statements that shed some light on the government's cautious approach. He mentioned concerns about potential Chinese aggression, and it was implied that more developed infrastructure could potentially facilitate easier movement for any advancing forces in the event of a conflict. This mindset reflected a defensive strategy aimed at maintaining tougher terrain as a natural barrier against invasion."
his parliament sppech in 2013 . ( it is reshared by bjp minister ignore that part just focus on what he said )

I am not exactly sure but this can be one of the reasons for engaging with china so softly.
Mou signed between congress party and china ( i am writing china instead of ccp because both are same ) . Signed by Rahul G and vice president Xi himself.
The main issue with this mou is unavailability of the agreements in the documents. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.newindianexpress.com/amp/story/opinions/2020/Aug/27/why-is-congress-hiding-its-mou-with-chinas-communists-2188835.html&ved=2ahUKEwjklJjPvLyFAxUSZmwGHca-BSsQFnoECCQQAQ&usg=AOvVaw03-fNRc8tOu3FPci7f2Gmm

Some excellent specimen plants will be sold via a silent auction, which will be done at least one of the days. Collaborators: Los Jardines Institute, Jah Truebadoors, youth from South Valley prep, Alex Viteri Arturo, Valerie Oliveiro, and Jennifer Monson. Conceptual formations: Valerie Oliveiro and Jennifer Monson. move thing is a community-based dance project proposing that the multi-sensory, improvisatory, and choreographic structures of dance contribute to reparative projects in communities that have historically been impacted by toxic contamination due to resource extraction (Uranium and coal mining) and industrial effluents (chemicals, particulates, carbon monoxide, and heavy metals). Resisting all forms of purity, the work proposes that we are all constantly, inherently, and unevenly making up each other and all other animate and inanimate beings. If we imagine ourselves as soluble, always dissolving and reconstituting choreographically, could we move through toxicity and be with and/or absorb toxicity and find new / alternative / old / transformative relationships to its states / tendencies / behaviors / effects / violences / shifts? Could we find intelligences within our bodies and abilities to connect more deeply with the mechanisms for survival and support in sites and systems that we are a part of? move thing is supported, in part, by the Challenge America grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Campus Research Board’s award from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and the Puffin Foundation

2024.04.06 19:23 khattakapashtana1 Jinnat ke qisay

This happened around 3 years ago, my younger cousin Ahad was around 2 years old. Raat ke 1 baaj rahe the and Ahad wouldn't stop crying, he was with his mother (my chachi) and older sister who was 9 years old, Maria. My chachi tried everything to stop him from crying but he wouldn't stop.
Tabhi unke darwaze pe meri "behan" Sarah chachi ko darwaza knock karti hai bolti hai, "chachi mujhe dedo Ahad main usse chup karwa dungi, chachi dedo Ahad ko, chachi dedo na" wo jab tak Ahad Ko mang rahi thi utna Ahad roraha hai aur uske knocks zyda taiz aur strong hone lage. Mind you, the jinn was speaking in Pashto.
Pata nhi chachi ko kya hua tha that she didn't open her door but after a while Maria went outside to check if my sister was really there but no sign of her so she entered our room and saw that Sarah was sleeping. Maria went to her mother's room quickly to tell her mother that she was sleeping. Imagine chachi ne darwaza khol diya hota toh?
Do you guys have any jinn stories? I have alot but this one was the creepiest and most recent. Let me read yalls stories!

2024.03.18 18:08 pata-gobi Idk but i want to get this sh*t off my chest

meri reddit history dekh kar judge mat krna mujhe , jitna khush lagta hu , utna hu nhi + lambi post ho sakti h , par shayad aapka ek comment ek stranger ki mada ho jaye + mujhe pata reddit pe aese help ni mante , par mujhe koi to chahiye jiske sath discuss kr saku ( pls yarr )
so story goes like ..... meri family ( m , mera chota bhai , mummy and papaji) lower middle class hai , ek do rooms ke set me rhte h , rent pe , business ki vajah se kafi loss hua ( i mean kafi 40-50 lakh ) jab m 6-7th me tha , tab 10-15 lakh ke loan se aesi condition ho gyi . abhi recover kr rhe h , but still . Mere parents ne kabhi meri aur mere bhai ki padhai me kami ni aane di , chahe kese bhi fees arrange ki ho , apni aukat se badkar hume aache school me bheja . jab m 7th me tha , tab mujhe ek din yt pe albert einstein sir ki biography mil gyi , mujhe hamesha se brain , intellectual chizo , technical chizo me interest tha , us din vo video dekh ne baad pata ni kyu mujhe laga ki in jessa bana h , fir vohi jo har science nerd karta h , space aur science ka har channel dekhne laga yt pe . 10th tak ka math , science 9th ke 1st term exam tak kr liye , khud se , fir thodi bahut differentiation ( + papa ki help se , kyuki vo teacher h maths ke )
jab 9-10th me aaya , meri mosi ke ladke ( mujhse 11 saal bade ) saurav bhaiya aur unki puri family ( bahut aache insaan , only people jinhone hamesha hmara sath diya har problem me , financially aur emotionally , my favourite people ) ne bataya ki tu upsc kr , aur vohi ki ias ki power kitni h . mujhe bhi hamesha se power chahiye thi , mene dekha h ki bina power ke society kese dabba deti h . ( meri puri family govt job hi chahti h , mtlb papaji ne to kaha bhi h ki chahe govt peon bn ja par private ni ) aur mujhe interest tha science me , vaise to m research me jana chahta tha par govt job ka panga + meri family ko haad se haad 5-6 saalo me ek income earner chahiye ,m mere parents ko aur wait nhi krwa sakta , to maine isro jane ka socha , through IIST JEE ki tayari shuru , 11th barbaad ( meri galti thi , school + coaching + ha aalas kiya ) , 12th me macha diya , jab ek din tayari chodni padi , because school se nikal diya tha mujhe absence ki vajah se , fir parents se baat krke ye hua ki 7 se 3:30 tak school me hi rhna padega is incident ke baad mene tayari khatam ki aur boards me lag gya , aur drop ka plan baana liya , ab drop year shuru krne wala tha ki pata chala ki is saal ke ye jaruri ni ki ISRO IIST se hire kre , ho sakta h ki vacancy na ho aur m iist me hote hue bhi na puch pau isro ab kal saurav bhaiya aaye , unhe fir kaha ki UPSC kru , power aur paisa hi h sab kuch , interest to temparory h , aaj hoga fir ni ( though mujhe jee ki 1.5 saal ki tayari ke baad bhi physics aur maths interesting af lagte h ) sahi batau to mujhe pura roadmap pata h ki kese UPSC ki tayari kru , aur to aur polity aur economics me bhi bahut interest par maths se jyada ni , par fir UPSC me maths chodna padega ab m confuse hu , mujhe dono hi option badia lag rhe h ( + ab IIST jake ISRO ki bhi guarantee ni ) m thak gaya hu , confuse hu kuch chizo pe doubt aa gya ,kya ye sara interest bus illusion tha , jo yt dekh dekh ke aaya ? passion se jindagi chalti h ? kya m ek illusion me hu , or jab IIST jaunga to kahi pata lage ki ye sab to bus interest tha .
Kya pata ki JEE ho jaye , IIST puch jau , phir meri job hi na lag paye ISRO me , 5 saal barbaad ho jaye . Kya pata ki lakho ki hard earned fees barbaad ho jaye kya pata mera ye interest bus ek illusion ho ? kya pata isro bhi mil jaye par vo respect aur power thodi h isro ke scientist ke pass ? mera pura family ( papa ka to sapna h ) aur sabhi chahte h ki UPSC kru , par mere instinct kahte h ki IIST jau also mere instincts ne hamesha dokha hi diya h ( i mean hamesha , jab bhi dil ki suni ... coaching , module , books , friends ke mamle me , hamesha loss hi hua ) m IIST ke baad UPSC ki tayri ni kr sakta , because bus kitna pressure do family ko ?
totally lost

2024.03.12 20:24 bhatka_musafirr Words by u/Ok_lake_235 that I believe we all need to hear

I wish I could help all these overconfident people (26tards) realise that it isn't that easy. There will consistently be demotivation. There will definitely be times when you feel like you can't continue. You will see your friends move on, do better than you. You must remember: You are not at the top. You will never be at the top.
If I can climb 2 stories of stairs, do I start saying that I can climb Mount Everest? Do I say that Mount Kilimanjaro's peak is within my reach? No. Treat JEE as if it is a mountain, and you - yes, you - haven't even learnt to walk. The canon event is a reality. Tread lightly.
Yes, two years of hardwork is definitely enough for an average student. You need to pick some lectures/offline coaching and stay with it. Don't go jumping around, if you find your teacher has not taught some random thing. Find good friends, friends who are willing to help you. Learn from your friends. Compete with them. I am blessed to have found friends like this in my JEE Preparation.
Starting preparation in 10th grade and early will do you no good. Start learning the basics. There were many. I remember 2 years ago. It feels like yesterday. My first class in coaching was about physics, vectors. I also used to think: "I am above average. I can do this. I have also scored 97.6% in my 10th Boards. I am smart." Sir asks some question. I spend so long on it, and the kid next to me solves it in 10 seconds. That's when I thought, I wished, that I had started my preparation earlier. I thank God that I did not. That kid eventually burnt out. I left him far behind. Consistency is everything. Startig early will do nothing. You will be able to intimidate a few people at first, but then, people better than you will overtake you, surely. You will get tired. I highly advise that you take it slow. DO NOT attempt to intimidate others and start early. This advice is from my heart. Take it slow, understand everything. Ensure that your knowledge is not superficial.
Coming to schedule. 8 hours of self-study on weekdays? 10 hours on weekends? 6 hours of sleep? I applaud your efforts, I applaud how seriously you are thinking. This is actually a good step. But you need to be more realistic. I also used to think that I will study 9 hours a day. It hardly ever happened. My advice is to forget the number of hours you studied. Just start a timer and forget about it. Measure the day's productivity by the amount of chapter completed. The number of questions solved. Measure your day by how much you have learned, not by simply how many hours you have sat down. That is the correct approach. As mentioned earlier, make sure that your learning is not superficial.
To those asking if you can achieve/crack JEE without coaching and school both. I say no. I had offline coaching and an attending school. Those were some of the best days of my life. I joined a program called the World Scholar's Cup (You can search it up if you want to.) It is a competition focusing on debate, learning, and writing. I travelled to Bangkok for the Global Round (was in the top 20 out of 1000 students) and went to the Tournament of Champions at Yale University in November, where I was announced one of the gold champions. (tum log mat karne lag jaana ye sab, padhai pe dhyan do pehle.) I had a team, which consisted of two other people. Suffice to say I am extremely close to them (shared experiences tend to have that effect). Don't go into all of this until you are sure of your preparation level. My point being, I didn't leave school, and I somehow managed with coaching. Although the decision is entirely upto you, you will have a lot of memories from school (which is my point) which I am sure you do not want to forgo. Rest is upto you.
Now to those asking about which is better: IITD or IITB CSE. How is it that we haven't been able to score 99.99+ %ile? How are we all retards? Now let me tell you something. 99.99 percentile is equivalent to the top 120ish ranks (as per 2024 data). If you were at that level, you would already know you were at that level. You would have some insane talent. How will you know if you have this talent? Definitely not by judging JEE Questions subjectively, when you haven't even studied 0.01% of the JEE syllabus effectively. You will realise if you have this talent about halfway through your JEE preparation, at the end of your 11th grade. For this you will need to put consistent efforts (remember, don't start out early and burnout). Be consistent. That is most important.
In short, what I am saying is, "pankh aaye nhi hain, aur tum udhne se pehle hi zameen ko bhul gaye ho". Mere papa kehte hain, jitna marzi udho, ugo, but kabhi jis mitti aur zameen se aaye ho usko kabhi mat bhulna. Shayad mai yeh hi kehne ki koshish kar raha hu. Zameen par raho.
Rahi baat main kaun hu ye sab bolne wala? Pehli baat yeh hai ki main senior hu. Maine logon ko overconfidence mai dubte hue dekha hai. Mai khud kabhi duba hua tha. Maine logon ko ucche ucche aasano se girte hue dekha hai, aur neeche se upar aate hue logon ko bhi. Dusri baat, koi aisa senior hai hi nhi jo tumhara competition hai. bas thorra sa (for lack of a better word) jalte hain... we were once upon a time like you guys only, aur hamein bhi kisi ne sikhaya hi tha, guide kiya tha, jo hamare seniors the.
And woh 26tards, jo tab tak nhi manenge kuch bhi, saying that main nalayak hu aur tumhari baat kyu suno, meri percentile 99.83 hai, 29S1. Ab toh man jao. Main bhala hi chahta hu.
Best of luck to all my Juniors.
