Losing my sanctuary, losing my privacy, losing my home, all because I'm worthless and nobody wants to hire me. My gf has to deal with my mood swings and suicidal ideations. I never take my anger out on her verbally (or physically) but I know my current state hurts her. She doesn't want to see me like this. Yesterday we went out to eat because she's been craving a burger from a diner. She knows I love to eat, but I barely touched my food. More than likely I sucked the enjoyment out of the day from her. I'm also drowning in credit card debt, every month I go $2000 over my limit. However, that's the least of my worries. If I die, I don't have to pay it back and I don't have dependents.
Last week I called my old college to inquire about their masters accounting program. They said I could finish in a year or 2 and sit for my CPA. However, that's an EXTREMELY hard exam, that requires a lot of preparation. How can I do that and work? What if I don't pass it and still can't get a shitty accounting job? What then? Hello, I just discovered this group yesterday. So I thought I should share my crazy story.
I can understand people's affection towards Credit Cards. I am doing online money things since 2006.
My biggest regret back then was that my debit card did not work internationally and no bank would give me a credit card.
(keep in mind things have changed a lot in those 18 years)
I never applied for a job except once. My friends were applying for Bank PO job and they asked me to teach them Quant (maths), but they wanted me to be more invested in that preparation, so they asked me to apply too.
I thought, hey, if I become a bank manager, I can have any Credit Card I want and know the Credit Card application process much better (I was wrong, I didnt know that branch has no control over Credit Cards).
Long story short, 3 of my friends I taught became bank PO, along with me. We all joined different public sector banks. I joined Bank of India in 2013.
And I did get my first credit card pre-approved within a few months of me as an Officer.
It is then when I realized it was a stupid idea.
The Credit card I got was very useless, It would not even work internationally Application process was offline and I/branch had no role in it.
But I learnt a lot. I did several banking certifications (including Credit Cards/Loans/Financial Inclusion) by Indian Institute of Bankers on my employer's cost .
Four years later I quit the job. But I was in a better situation now, as I had credit cards from SBI, HDFC, AXIS etc.
And It was a nightmare to close the Credit Card of my ex-employer bank. That resulted in RBI complaint and Rs 28000 as compensation. But that is a story for a different day.

I applied for a personal loan sa BPI worth 160k pesos. My monthly gross income is only 35-39k. May bad credit din ako kay BPI, 1 year na akong nagbabayad ng minimum due amount lang since nagkaroon kami ng financial problems last quarter ng 2023 and isa yung credit card sa naging source of money ko to pay bills.

Bought a home 4 years ago right before Covid. Ended up moving unexpectedly several states away, don't really plan to ever move back. Owe about $155k on house off $190k loan. Zillow says $250k~, probably be +$300k if the exterior wasn't a mess. House is rented but needs serious work in near future which may not be possible. House is in a rural area and before we moved of the DOZENS of contractors that came out, not a single one gave me a quote. So i am not sure i will even be able to find someone to do the work when time comes. New wrap around deck, exterior paint, major landscaping all need done within a year or two for sure.
Good tenants inside, but profit is only about ~$100 a month if we are lucky and something doesn't come up. So mostly just paying mortgage now.
We aren't attached to the house, but I am very in the "keep it" mindset, and I'd like to at some point use equity or the house itself to buy future real estate (a new primary residence, or another investment). I'd like to hear opinions on what you would do? We have zero interest in moving back (no family that lives near there either) and I am worried about being able to maintain it from afar.
On the flip side, I've been really looking at real estate in other states and I am making enough to be able to handle another mortgage/hopefully a rental somewhere else that could potentially turn a profit or pay for itself later down the line in equity. People have been telling me to take a HELOC, but I don't quite understand how that makes sense since it would just raise my other mortgage so much more. The whole process kinda confuses me. Some very obvious QOL features were left out of the crafting/building activities, one of them was featured in previous games and is greatly missed, here's what I wanna see in a future update:
Detaching and Storing Weapon/Spacesuit Mods:
Having to re-craft all your mods every time you find a new version of a weapon gets old REAL fast. Fallout 4 had the perfect system, on top of being able to craft mods, you could also remove them from weapons, attach them to other weapons of the same model (without needing to level "Gun Nut"), store them for later use or buy/sell them separately. It makes no sense that in Starfield an attachment that took valuable resources to make is destroyed once you replace it, same goes for spacesuit mods.
Building a Ship From Scratch:
Makes no sense to me that you need a base ship to modify, more often than not a final build ends with none of the original parts, so why do we need the base for? We should have the option to start the Ship Builder from a blank slate when talking to a Ship Services Technician or vendor. Maybe make so this feature requires 1 rank of Ship Design so new players don't get overwhelmed.
Saving WIP/Project Ships:
To complement the ability to build from scratch, we should be able to save a ship even when it has essential parts missing, as long as it's not your Home Ship. This prevents the player from getting stuck when building from scratch if a vendor doesn't have one of the essential parts. Also, this way we're not forced to buy placeholder parts in order to exit the editor when a vendor doesn't have the parts we want.
Storing Ship Parts:
We should have the ability to store ship parts for later use, as well as the ability to sell them directly from said storage. With the current system if a player wants to try a new part (a weapon for example) they're forced to replace their current one, getting a laughable amount of credits back on trade-in. Give us the option to store the part in the editor, so if we want that part back we can just install it back from storage. This also opens up the possibility of swapping parts between ships and salvaging useful parts from claimed/captured ships before selling them.
Finally: Make the Cargo Bays Useful!!!
Imagine my surprise when I installed a giant 3x2 cargo bay only to realize it doesn't add any cargo capacity to your ship... Like ??? ... As it is, cargo bays are nothing but giant cosmetic wastes of space/credits. I'm aware that there's a mod enabling this function, but c'mon, this is just a gross oversight from BGS.

I’ve searched around but haven’t seen any articles specifically mention how the new federal airline rules will affect bookings made through travel portals like Chase, Amex and Cap1.
I know there’s always a risk when booking third party for complications, but do you all think these rules will make it less risky to book through portals? And how do you all think refunds would work if you book flight in Chase portal for example with UR points and something goes wrong and flight is delayed for hours or there’s some other mishap?

My partner ( C, male, 30s) and I ( HV, female, 30s) have been together since 2016 and we have a 5 years old son. The other part of you is a Filipino community. As all other Asian communities know Filipino they stand alone. They either include or exclude. It is their culture. I wish I can attach the screen shot of the actual email here. This is not the first time the uncle's wife has done this to us. And she has been sending nasty email like this to almost all members of my partner's family talking about stuff like this. I'll follow up with you guys the email she sent to my partner's mom, and other uncles. Every time it happens, we let it slide since we love and respect the uncle and the cousins. At the end, she is still the uncle's wife and the cousins' mother. But this time, it's way cross the line. My partner was so livid he sent the email screen shot to all of his uncles and his mom and ask wtf is this. The uncle had nothing to say but apologize to him and said he didn't know his wife sent this. My partner asked him 'are you going to check your wife out this time or are you just going to let her continue to break our family apart?'. He was silent and said he couldn't do anything. My partner decided to show up at the party and talk to her out of her delulu. And we just did. We show up, she was just smiling up and waving to us like nothing happened. We asked her to come outside to talk or we can talk to her right there at the party. She finally had to went outside. We didn't hold our tongue this time. I told her to keep my name and my son's name out of her mouth, if she wants to keep her tongue inside there. She was acting shocked and that she didn't do nothing wrong, that the email was just a reminder. The result was she left to go inside in tears, and other uncles and cousins came out to say that was epic, that was what they wanted to said to her after all of those nasty emails. So are we the assholes?

I got an email last week that my "submission has been approved" and my "optimum prepaid mastercard" was on its way.
However, I made no submission and I did not ask for any prepaid card. I am nervous that someone has taken out a credit card in my name. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how can I cancel it? I can see no information whatsoever on the optimum website, so it almost leads me to believe this is a phishing attempt, though the email looks legit.
