2024.06.02 19:08 GourmeteandoConRulo Rye and oats cookies with "discard", no sugar added.
Hi! I think we don't get enough sourdough recipes that are not plain ol' loaves, so I thought I'd share some of my creations, here's one I love, translated from my mom's recipe for oat cookies. Sorry it's in volumes but with cookies I sometimes just eye quantities tbh. xD They don't look like the most enticing treats in the world but that sourdough fermentation plus all the fibre really do make them filling and satisfying, one or two of them and you're full for a few hours. submitted by GourmeteandoConRulo to Sourdough [link] [comments] 2 cups whole rye flour 2 cups oats 1 cup whole wheat flour 2 cups baker's Splenda(we're very health conscious in my house but you can absolutely use any sort of sugar) 3-4 cups milk(can replace with vegans options) 2 cups discard starter(I don't use a method that produces discard so I just use normal starter around peak ferment) 1 cup raisins/cranberries/chocolate chips 1 cup chopped walnuts/peanuts 2 bars of 90g butteequivalent of coconut oil 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon cardamom Basically just mix dry ingredients, toss in wet stuff, mix until it's right between pancake batter and bread dough in texture, let ferment overnight in the fridge, might want to add that extra cup of milk or more if it's dried up, since oats and raisins soak up a lot of water. Transfer to either cupcake moulds or your preferred method of baking cookies, bake at around 220°C for 50 minutes or until it's golden brown. |
2024.06.02 18:46 please_respect_hats This thing is incredible
Bought a Creami Deluxe at Costco yesterday for $180. I’ve been wanting one for AGES, and recently got a better job, and moved near a Costco, and got a membership. The timing was right lol. The three pint containers included instead of the two was a great bonus. submitted by please_respect_hats to ninjacreami [link] [comments] I love frozen desserts, and while I love ice cream, honestly sorbet and frozen yogurt are equal with it. I did the canned pineapple sorbet, canned mango, and strawberry frozen yogurt. I just bought a random container of strawberry Greek yogurt with a high-ish fat content and threw it in there. All turned out amazing, with zero effort. I’ve tried other ice cream makers, and they either 1. Required too much prep, 2. Straight up didn’t work well, or 3. Didn’t make enough. They all ended up gathering dust. With all of these, I was able to just process half, and have a perfect large bowl full. This is life changing lol I also found that the containers fit perfectly on a shelf in my freezer, makes storing them super easy and unobtrusive. Keeps them flat took It is loud, but I live alone, so that’s not an issue. Time to buy more containers 🤣 I bought stuff for a few other recipes. Some peaches, ingredients for mint chocolate chip ice cream, and some fairlife chocolate milk. Excited for all the possibilities. This subreddit has been great for tips, and read a lot before I bought it. I did have some icy edges with the pineapple, so I’ll run it under warm water next time. Still didn’t mind it though, added some texture. |

2024.06.02 16:57 CatfromLongIsland I adapted this recipe for someone in the askbaking subreddit looking for a mini batch of chocolate chip cookies. They came out great!
I reduced the original recipe by 90% and tweaked it a bit to make four cookies. The result looks and tastes just like a full batch. submitted by CatfromLongIsland to Baking [link] [comments] |
