In historic art pieces depicting multiple humans, there is a law that at least one of those humans will look like they have no clue how or why they got there. It's like Where's Waldo, except instead of looking for Waldo you're looking for the dude that looks like he just dropped acid.

2024.05.20 02:12 HRJafael Lake Ellis Partnership endorses stormwater management plan

https://archive.is/kRmPn
The Lake Ellis Watershed Management Partnership Wednesday endorsed Planning and Development Director Eric Smith’s proposal to seek a $200,000 grant to address stormwater runoff entering the lake.
The competitive Section 319 grants are funded by the federal government and administered in Massachusetts by the state Department of Environmental Protection. The deadline for submitting the grant is Friday, May 24.
Monies from the grant will, if approved, pay for a $192,000 project proposed by the engineering firm of Wright-Pierce of Westfield, designed to treat runoff flowing into the lake from the Bearsden Conservation Area. The elevation from the conservation area to Lake Ellis drops by approximately 300 feet, with stormwater running into the north end of the lake via the neighborhood between Colonial Drive, Bearsden Road and Athol High School.
The plan is a change from a proposal to relocate the 48-inch drainpipe that feeds into the lake just west of the public beach. Instead, bioremediation will be used to treat the water before it gets to the lake.
“We were looking for recommendations to try to reduce the quantity and quality of the runoff,” Smith said, “especially the quality.” The engineers, he said, had suggested addressing the issue in phases, including installation of a forebay, which is designed to slow stormwater runoff and filter out sediment, along with some dredging.
“But we had to say, ‘Hey, we’ve got about $200,000 that we can apply for and we don’t have any money for a match,’ Smith said.
“So, they came back and are proposing two hydrodynamic in-line stormwater treatment devices. One goes on-line and the other is off-line. In-line means it’s basically in the path of the drain, so as the water goes into the drain it will be treated by this hydrodynamic device.
The one that is off-line is parallel to the (drainpipe); the water and the sediment go into it and it’s basically treated by putting all the sediment there, and then the water goes into Lake Ellis.”
Asked for more detail regarding what the hydrodynamic treatment devices are supposed to accomplish, Smith said that they will remove solids, oils, grease and other debris from stormwater runoff through gravitational trapping of pollutants. They are also designed to remove phosphorous from the water. Assistant Public Works Director Paul Raskevitz told the committee that the DPW would be charged with maintaining the devices and removing accumulated sediments for disposal at an approved site.
Smith said that, in addition to dealing with the runoff, community education – a requirement of the grant – will be utilized through signage and mailings to about 100 properties around the lake.
“We’d obviously like to apply for more funding in the future,” said Smith. “We’d obviously like to do more work above the area around Starrett Avenue, but that’s going to be a future project.”
Lake Ellis Partnership members voted unanimously to endorse the grant application and supply a letter of support for Smith to include. Smith said he also hopes to gain similar support from the Nashua River Watershed Council, Friends of Lake Ellis and from Athol’s DPW.

Theories on Theories: Assessing the Potential Magnitude of the May 17th Prospectus Filings, Part II, Is the Reverse Uno is Upon Us?
Edit: Of course I fucked up the title. Lol. Is the Reverse Uno Upon Us?*
Hello again, Apes.
I have gotten a solid 4 hours of sleep and am ready to keep plugging along.
Disclaimer: Nothing of which I discuss is financial advice and not indicative of what you should do with your money or investments. Make your own decisions. I have no idea what I am talking about.
Link to Part I of my little write-up, recommended that you read that first: https://www.reddit.com/Superstonk/comments/1cvo4hw/theories_on_theories_assessing_the_potential/
TL;DR for Part I: After 3+ years of working in near silence, Gamestop has dropped a reverse uno time-bomb nuke on shorts, and I don't believe we have fully comprehended just how big and effective of a nuke it will be. They finally released their plans to end the abusive short-selling once and for all... I believe the details in the filings have the answers. Need more eyes. We just need to HODL and let RC & Team work their magic. This was precisely timed and will be executed precisely. I believe they are about to throw the whole kitchen sink at em. Shorts r truly fuk. To be continued.
TL;DR for Part II: Although you should really read through this to get super jacked...Predicition: Gamestop will lay down the reverse uno... the company will protect its shareholders through a slew of new, private, non-dilutive security offerings that we get first dibs on, and that are backed by our current/future holdings. Cash/non-cash dividends from the proceeds of the sale of those securities (units) are on the table. Thus, forcing shorts to either pay or close. MOASS is inevitable.
Many Apes have stepped up to begin analyzing these filings. Thank you! The goal with my analysis is to continue to educate Apes on what all this jargon means, shine more light on the specificities of the filings and to speculate (for fun) as to what I think Gamestop is going to do based on the specificities. In the first part, I discussed Book Entry Securities issued via the DTC (the stock we all know and love), Preferred Stock (the juicy and scare new stock on the block), and the mysterious "Preferred Stock Depositary" (PSD) and its proposed role in the issuance and management of Gamestop's preferred stock to Apes worldwide, keeping it away from abusive short sellers and directly in the hands of Apes.
In my first part, I speculated that the unnamed PSD would likely be computershare. But the more I think about it, the more I am unsure of that. And maybe that is why it is unnamed as of yet. Many Apes from different parts of the world have been unable to DRS, so that means they have been unable to access/use Computershare to hold/manage their shares and the DTC shit the bed one too many times when they committed international securities fraud on the splividend. So, I am thinking its possible that Gamestop secures another entity with more accessibility worldwide, or perhaps is even in the process of creating their own depositary for their newly-issued securities (dare I say, units?), to manage their "Global Securities" (a term they use in the filings).

Tory vs. Tary

Chat GPT: In the context of stocks, both “depository” and “depositary” refer to entities that hold securities, but they serve different functions:
In summary, while both depositories and depositaries play crucial roles in the securities market, a depository is involved in the safekeeping and trading of securities, whereas a depositary issues receipts that represent shares in foreign companies, facilitating international trading for investors312.
It seems there is more to come here as to what exact role the depositary will serve. Notice the phrasing \"series of securities that differ from the terms described here\"
Tinfoil: We have seen some evidence of and speculated that Gamestop is looking more and more like they are positioning themselves to not only be dominant in retail gaming, but also serve as a holding company, potentially even serving as their own "bank". Could a brand new, currently unknown arm of Gamestop BE the unnamed depositary??? Warren Icahn anyone?
https://preview.redd.it/j1dmqz31lg1d1.jpg?width=748&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d8ff6dbd7a37307413c79f9527508194a509031
If so, what role would Computershare then play? This was speculated long ago and I am thinking these filings are just a peek inside the inner workings of such an entity.

Subscriptions, Warrants, and Units

Sounds a lot like "series of securities that differ from the terms described here", doesn't it? I left off with a couple teasers and I look to close the tinfoil loop on those here.
GPT:
Stock subscriptions and warrants are both financial instruments related to the stock market, but they serve different purposes:
In summary, while both stock subscriptions and warrants give investors the right to purchase shares, stock subscriptions are typically offered to existing shareholders at a discounted price to prevent dilution of ownership, whereas warrants are long-term instruments that are often issued to sweeten the deal when other securities are being sold321.

Here's where I use a whole roll of Reynolds Heavy Duty Tin Foil:

Sooo, in Part I, I offer the notion that Gamestop isn't going to just do one or two of these proposed offerings, they are going to do them all and they're telling us how. What I am gathering so far is Apes/holders/longs will get a chance to suck up the (45M, but up to 1B) book-securities shares faster and cheaper than you can possibly imagine through the simultaneous issuance/use of Warrants and Subscription Contracts. These investment vehicles will be issued to all record holders in "Units". And there's a lot of juice to squeeze outta this IMO.
Notice here, mention of \"unit agent\" and again in the bulletpoints, they mention \"a bank or trust company\" that governs the \"units\". I'm thinking they will likely be the same entity that manages it all.
Gamestop's TL;DR on units: We can issue any number of combinations of two or more of the aforementioned securities/vehicles (Warrants Subscriptions, Common Stock, Preferred Stock) which we call "Units". They may be transferable as a single security that holds multiple securities within it. Our unit Agent (a designated trust or bank). AND, the units might not even be listed on any securities exchange. (Privately held, hard to trade, hard to access, hard to fuck with UNITS of securities?)
So, hypothetically, all shareholders of record on a given record date determined by a supplemental filing will get FIRST DIBS to purchase en masse, a lot of Gamestop stock, perhaps cheaper than ever before. The warrants give us the opportunity to buy at a pre-determined price, the subscriptions contracts give us the chance to not dilute our value in our holdings. Gamestop is literally going to nearly GIVE us a shitload more stock, privately, securely, and through a private, exclusive offering.
And here's where it gets even more juicy...I think they're gonna do it DFV style...in reverse order, relative to the order of each type of offering listed in their filing.

Protect Ya Neck, Shorts! There's gonna a rush to grab GME stock!

The Plan
See if you can follow me here...in order...
  1. BOOK ENTRY SECURITIES: Gamestop gives holders the exclusive rights and first dibs to purchase a shitload more Class A Common stock through new "Units". The units house the subscription contracts, warrants, and underlying stock. But there's only 45,000,000 more slated to be offered (so far). They give us the OPTION to purchase more later on until a certain date. The subscriptions give apes the opportunity to prevent dilution of their positions through scooping up the new stock before anyone else can. The Warrants allow us to add more at a given price (buying at a fixed price on the way up anyone?) This raises a TON of capital (potentially billions) for the company.
  2. SUBSCRIPTION RIGHTS AND UNITS: Apes jump at the opportunity to scoop up more class A shares and this allows them the opportunity to then "purchase" a greater number of fractionalized preferred stock (depositary shares) than they could have before (with only 5,000,000 whole shares available). All preferred stocks (whether whole or fractional) are backed by the chosen depositary's receipts (the official ledger, NOT managed by the corrupt DTC). AND GIVEN ALL PREFERRED STOCK IS BACKED BY THE GLOBAL SECURITIES (GME Class A Common Stock)...THIS ALLOWS INTERNATIONAL APES AND ALL APES WHO COULD NOT/CANNOT DRS TO ESSENTIALLY HAVE THEIR STOCK DIRECTLY REGISTERED THROUGH THE COMPANY ITSELF. Unfuckwithable!
  3. The preferred stocks (somehow) become part of the Units where all securities are held with the Unit agent (the depositary). Proceeds from the preferred stock sales go toward the company capital, to be used for general company purposes. What are those, you might ask?
Gamestop states that, while they could, there are currently no plans to acquire other companies or make any specific investments. Until they do have those plans, they want to invest the net proceeds from the offering in interest-bearing securites or accounts.
I'm sitting here thinking...what if, as a "thank you" to loyal shareholders, they invest it back into shareholder accounts through an immediate cash dividend? Why would you want to leave if you're getting sick divvies on all your newly acquired stock (common and/or preferred)? You just spent $ buying preferred stock, why not delight investors by giving some right back? Awh but that would be expensive for the company! Nope. It would be expensive for the SHORTS who are responsible for paying that dividend!
https://preview.redd.it/a4on4059ug1d1.jpg?width=225&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=21617ee7dff5ddb3e2a4046e481a47dbb464bddb
GPT: When you short a stock, you’re borrowing shares from someone else (typically your brokerage firm) and selling them on the open market12. The person or entity from whom you borrowed the shares still technically owns them. If the company issues a dividend during this time, the original owner of the shares is entitled to that dividend12.
However, since their shares have been sold to a third party (by you, the short-seller), you are responsible for making the dividend payment to the original owner12. This means that if you have a short position on a stock when it goes ex-dividend (the date by which you need to own the stock to receive the dividend), you will owe the amount of the dividend to the lender of the shares12.
So, in summary, if you’re short a stock and that stock pays a dividend, you’ll be responsible for paying that dividend to the person or entity from whom you borrowed the shares12. This is an important consideration to keep in mind when deciding to short a stock, especially one that pays dividends.
So, let's say the shorts are still regarded af...and they have the $ to pay the dividend(s), cool. What if FME issues multiple or even monthly dividends? (There are currently 80 stocks that issue monthly dividends) Well, one, they can only pay for this for so long on top of the collateral and capital required to maintain their short position... Then, boom goes the dynamite. And if THAT doesn't work, gamestop could just choose to issue a non-cash dividend...which they outline below...
Wombo Combo?
Gamestop's ELI5: In the event that we issue a non-cash dividend, the PSD (depositary) will distribute the PROPERTY received by it TO the record holders of the depositary (preferred) shares entitled there to, IN PROPORTION to the number of depositiary shares owned by those holders. UNESS...the PSD determines that it somehow cannot be done...THEN the PSD may take that PROPERTY...and sell it publically or privately, and then the proceeds from that public/private sale will go directly to holder of the preferred stock.
Tinfoil? They're gonna try and issue/distribute the Wu-Tang Album or some other non-fungible property via a non-cash dividend. If that can't be done for whatever reason, they will sell the album/property at auction...all proceeds go back to preferred stock holders. No matter what, holders of the preferred stock win.
My last bit of tinfoil sounds crazy but, again, in part I, I spoke about filings saying the stock can be issued permanently, or even temporarily.
Gamestop sucks back up a ton of their class A common stock through buy backs. They may already be beginning to do that while the price is cheap, eventually leaving only a small amount of shares, or even just preferred stock available, privately held in the names holders. Non-diluted, scarcem valuable, and unable to be fucked with. GME becomes its own bank. Shareholders get the protection they deserve. MOASS happens through one of many ways...
I understand this is NOT proof that they are buying back...just speculation.
Once Gamestop has the shorts off their back finally, and the capital they want/need...they then go about what they really want to continue to GROW the company...mergers/acquisitions?
Also, some other Apes have said that its possible the Gamestop is offering the shorts a way out. And while personally do not think this is fair or likely, I think its possible and would not surprise me. But what if Apes/longs suck up all the shares at these offerings before shorts even get a chance? Then they're still fucked. Still needed our shares and they're now EVEN HARDER to get.
https://preview.redd.it/xooxvb412h1d1.jpg?width=1516&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d9ce6f25167ee4b65852e83e3697898217bc4d04
No matter what, I AM JACKED. I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE WHAT IT ENDS UP LOOKING LIKE.
Apes together Strong.
TL;DR: Although you should really read through this to get super jacked...Predicition: Gamestop will lay down the reverse uno... the company will protect its shareholders through a slew of new, private, non-dilutive security offerings that we get first dibs on, and that are backed by our current/future holdings. Cash/non-cash dividends from the proceeds of the sale of those securities (units) are on the table. Thus, forcing shorts to either pay or close. MOASS is inevitable.

2024.05.20 01:37 Tough-girl3290 Given SIS, 1 year probation, and a fine for after a minor accident with a ticket for failure to yield. What does this mean for me?

I was involved in a minor accident in January. I was given a ticket for failure to yield resulting in an accident. I'm located in Missouri. I received a letter and court documents from my attorney yesterday stating that the recommendation is acceptance of liability by insurance, SIS, 1 year bench probation with monitoring, court costs, and proof of restitution will amend the ticket to no point speeding. I have never been in trouble and have only had a couple tickets over 30 years ago for speeding (under 10 miles over the speed limit) My mind is spinning right now. How screwed am I? Im worried I'm going to b lose my job and/or my certification as a mammography tech. I had insurance so the damages to her car and medical bills will be taken care of. I got an attorney to protect myself. He never said SIS or probation was a possibility (and yes, I asked for worse case scenario) Probation seems excessive for a traffic accident in which there was only minor damage/injury especially since I don't have a record and have never been in trouble before. Anyone have a similar experience?

2024.05.20 01:25 Old-Mathematician392 Proclamation on the Devourer of Widow's Houses [One Former Adherent's Response to the Current Official LDS Temple Recommend Questions Designed Evaluate Member Worthiness]

Proclamation on the Devourer of Widow's Houses
(One Former Adherent's Response to the Official LDS Temple Recommend Questions [See Infra.] for Evaluating Member Worthiness)
Introduction (Questions 1-3): Moral and ethical frameworks should be grounded in reason, evidence, and concern for human wellbeing rather than supernatural doctrines. A divine savior is an unnecessary concept, being a man-made construct rather than a requirement for moral and ethical living. The LDS church's assertion that it alone represents the "restoration" of true Christianity is an egregious example of religious arrogance and exclusion. There is no reasonable justification or straight-faced argument for the church to view itself as the sole bearer of divine truth, while dismissing the validity of all other Christian denominations. This stance is antithetical to the inclusive spirit of the Christian faith.
Subjugation (4a-c): The LDS church's veneration of its president and other leaders as "prophets, seers, and revelators" is nothing short of a cult of personality. These individuals have no more claim to divine authority than the leaders of any other organized religious institution, sect, or denomination. To demand unquestioning obedience to such figures is a gross abuse of power that undermines the fundamental principles of Christianity, freedom of thought, and conscience. The subjugation of fellow humans is wrong. Humanity deserves to live fearlessly free from imagined supernatural horrors, fears, and violent delights.
Sexual Control (and Trade) (5a-b): The LDS church's stringent moral code and "law of chastity" are not rooted in any universal ethical framework, but rather in arbitrary Puritan religious traditions that were hypocritically twisted in unconventional directions under the guise of freedom of religion. Reason, empathy, and a commitment to human wellbeing - not rigid, outdated strictures of a hypocritical sect - remain the best way to engage with one's neighbors and fellow human beings.
Loyalty Tests to Identify Disloyalty and Lack of Devotion (6-8): The LDS church's insistence that its members conform to a specific set of religious practices, from Sabbath observance to sacrament participation, is a clear example of religious coercion. There is no inherent moral or ethical imperative for individuals to submit to such demands, which have more to do with maintaining the church's power and influence than with upholding genuine Christian values.
Further Financial and Behavioral Tests (9-16):
A. Financial Requirements ("Tithing"): The LDS church's demand for members to be "full-tithe payers," paying 10% of their income to the church, is a far more stringent and intrusive financial obligation than what is typically seen in mainstream Christianity and Judaism. Most Judeo-Christian denominations do not conduct such invasive "worthiness" interviews delving into members' personal finances.
Moreover, many religious institutions, regardless of ideology, offer entry to their sacred spaces either freely or for a modest, fixed cost accessible to all. This is in stark contrast to the LDS church's model, which uses financial tithing as a gatekeeper to determine who is "worthy" enough to enter their temples.
This financial prerequisite for temple access is not only more extreme than most Judeo-Christian traditions, but it also represents a troubling prioritization of monetary contributions over genuine spiritual devotion or ethical conduct. The LDS church's fixation on tithing as a measure of worthiness is a clear deviation from the teachings of Jesus, who decried the hypocrisy of religious leaders who "devour widows' houses."
Furthermore, the LDS church's intrusive questioning about members' personal financial obligations and debts is a gross violation of privacy and an unwarranted overreach into individuals' private affairs. There is no legitimate ethical or spiritual justification for the church to demand such detailed financial disclosures as a condition of accessing its temples.
B. Clothing Requirements ("Garments"): The LDS church's mandate that members wear specific "temple garments" as a condition of temple access is far more restrictive and intrusive than the clothing norms of ordinary Christian denominations. This requirement, which dictates the most intimate details of members' attire, is more akin to the dogmatic dress codes found in the strictest, most authoritarian forms of religious observance, such as certain Islamic fundamentalist sects.
In contrast, mainstream Christian traditions place no such prescriptive demands on adherents' undergarments or personal clothing choices beyond general principles of modesty. The LDS church's insistence on this garment policy as a measure of "worthiness" represents an unwarranted intrusion into the personal autonomy of its members, departing significantly from the inclusive spirit exemplified by the teachings of Jesus and the broader Christian faith.
Conclusion: The LDS church's temple recommend questions reveal dangerously misguided and arrogant flaws of theology and practice. By imposing a narrow, exclusionary set of beliefs and requirements, the church strayed far from the inclusive, compassionate spirit of the Christian tradition it claims to represent. The LDS church's interpretation of Christianity is anti-Christian, erroneous, and unjustifiably and arbitrarily restrictive.
The church is not honest in its dealings with its fellow man or even its own membership.
The Devourer of Widow's Houses (aka The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), itself, is unworthy to enter the so-called sacred spaces built with the resources of its former adherents' ancestors. The LDS church should start putting people over profits.
TLDR: u/johndehlin my .o2 - (One Former Adherent's Response to the Official LDS Temple Recommend Questions for Evaluating Member Worthiness). The LDS church's temple recommend questions reveal its theology and practices to be anti-Christian, excessively dogmatic, and unjustifiably exclusionary. The church's rigid requirements around beliefs, behavior, finances, and attire depart significantly from the inclusive spirit of mainstream Christianity, rendering the LDS institution anti-Christian. The L.D.S. theology offers its membership, and their children, a poison chalice.
--- Here, below, are the LDS temple recommend questions (some are compound so listed here with ignored official version of formatting):
Do you have faith in and a testimony of God, the Eternal Father; His Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Ghost?
Do you have a testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and of His role as your Savior and Redeemer?
Do you have a testimony of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ?
Do you sustain the President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the prophet, seer, and revelator and as the only person on the earth authorized to exercise all priesthood keys?
Do you sustain the members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles as prophets, seers, and revelators?
Do you sustain the other General Authorities and local leaders of the Church?
Do you strive for moral cleanliness in your thoughts and behavior?
Do you obey the law of chastity?
Do you follow the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ in your private and public behavior with members of your family and others?
Do you support or promote any teachings, practices, or doctrine contrary to those of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
Do you strive to keep the Sabbath day holy, both at home and at church; attend your meetings; prepare for and worthily partake of the sacrament; and live your life in harmony with the laws and commandments of the gospel?
Do you strive to be honest in all that you do?
Are you a full-tithe payer?
Do you understand and obey the Word of Wisdom?
Do you have any financial or other obligations to a former spouse or to children? 12B. If yes, are you current in meeting those obligations?
Do you keep the covenants that you made in the temple?
Do you honor your sacred privilege to wear the garment as instructed in the initiatory ordinances?
Are there serious sins in your life that need to be resolved with priesthood authorities as part of your repentance?
Do you consider yourself worthy to enter the Lord's house and participate in temple ordinances?

2024.05.20 01:22 Silly-Duty-8963 Findings during my DD research for SEC filings post: 741 explained? A call to trust.

\**Disclaimer:* THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE*, any statement made or information shared is for informational purposes, and in no way telling, advising, or persuading anyone to decide their finances or investments. These are my conclusions based on my research. As always, I highly advise everyone to READ these resources for yourselves and do your OWN research. There is a lot of information shared to intentionally mislead you. Protect yourselves.*
\*Please be kind. In the end, this is purely a fun theory regarding 741. However, it does contain some relevant and useful information. Maybe I’m wrong, or you don’t agree, but I had so much fun researching and connecting the dots. Allow this to be additional information for you to know, if nothing else!*
\Lastly, very possible I may add edits. I’m juggling a lot of information right now and trying to piece it all together in a way that makes sense. My mind feels soupy.*
Now, to the good stuff.
I’d like to share an exciting find. I stumbled upon this as I was doing research for some SEC research and I hope it lifts your brow as it did mine.
As most of you know, there’s a lot of speculation and adopted significance to the number 741, and I think I figured it out. Actually, if there really is any significance to 741, I’m almost POSITIVE this would be it.
Allow me to introduce you to Delaware’s General Corporation Law. (DGCL)
For those of you that are new, or don't know, the DGCL is relevant because Delaware's corporate law applies to all Delaware corporations no matter where they are located.
GameStop is a Delaware corporation.
The DGCL is a corporate statute containing mandatory requirements. These are intended to protect investors and give corporations flexibility to carry out their business. The DGCL is considered a business-friendly statute that gives stockholders and corporations maximum flexibility in ordering their affairs.
Now that you understand what it is and why it matters to GameStop, I’d like to draw your attention to Title 5, Chapter 7, Subchapter 3, SECTION 741
TITLE 5: Banking Banks and Trust Companies
CHAPTER 7. Corporation Law for State Banks and Trust Companies
Subchapter III. Conduct of Internal Corporate Affairs
• § 741. Bylaws, adoption, amendment and repeal.
- A corporation may adopt bylaws for the proper management of its affairs, and may establish regulations controlling the assignment and transfer of its shares. The first set of bylaws shall be adopted at the meeting of the incorporators, as provided in § 727 of this title, but thereafter the power to make, alter or repeal bylaws shall be in the stockholders, provided that any corporation may, in the certificate of incorporation, confer that power upon the directors.
In simple terms, this is the statute that the foundation of the SEC filing on May 17, 2024, stands on.
Now, I didn’t detail my theory, but I mentioned it in the discord that I suspected I found the connection for the 741 theory, and that it had to do with the SEC filing. It was brought to my attention by some friendly apes in the discord that the 741 theory is old, not new. Originating from the beginning times of RC in GameStop. I’m glad they brought up that point because this leads to my next confirmation. This point only further corroborates the theory.
Why? Because this most recent filing to SEC is ALSO old. Just as old as the 741 theory, actually. So let me remind you, that on Dec. 8, 2020, GameStop filed a practically identical S-3ASR to the SEC from May 17, 2024. (I’ve seen FUD throughout Reddit claim that this just means the May 17, 2024 one is nothing new or significant - that is incorrect and I’ll be addressing that as part of my next post) Anyways, this filing from 2020 was released a little over a month before the sneeze.
A-3ASR 2020: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgadata/1326380/000119312520312781/d50019ds3asr.htm
Notable mentions: ironically enough, while looking for 741 theory collections on Reddit that I could link to this post, I found a post that has a long list of collected theories, and one mentions U.S. Code, Title 11, Chapter 7, subchapter 3, SECTION 741, which is titled Stockbroker Liquidation
Website: https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?path=/prelim@title11/chapter7/subchapter3&edition=prelim
Superstonk Post: https://www.reddit.com/Superstonk/s/sLAekPP4h1
Whoever came up with this theory was for sure on the right path, I wish they would’ve kept digging. Unfortunately, section 741 of Title 11 US Code only contains definitions, that define terms used in the following sections, so it doesn’t make too much sense. This did, however, inspire me to look at other laws containing 741, rather than just the DGCL I found.
I’m going to have to do a separate post regarding Security Laws at this point, but one interesting thing I found is the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010. This act was created specifically because of the 2008 financial crisis, as a means to hopefully avoid something like that happening again.
I found an interesting find that appears to clearly define and apply to what Robinhood did in 2021 during the sneeze. This section just so happens to be...741 (this is just a coincidental I’m pointing out, considering "741" originated before the sneeze and couldn’t have predicted what Robinhood would do)
Check it out though: Title VII: Wall Street Transparency and Accountability, Subtitle A: Regulation of Over-the-Counter Swaps Markets, Part I: Regulatory Authority, Section 741: Enforcement
https://www.congress.gov/111/plaws/publ203/PLAW-111publ203.pdf
I highly encourage you to check out these resources as well:

Now the question is, if RC meant for there to be significance with the number “741”, then why?
And if by these findings, the DGCL statute answers why, then what is the significance of this S-3ASR that’s 3 1/2 years old?
“741” easter eggs were RC’s way of leading us to the S-3ASR. Evidence that he hasn’t just been playing 69d chess, but dare I say… 741d chess. If this theory were to be true, this would offer reassurance that the details during and after the end game are already established. It’s all laid out in the S-3, the exhibits linked within it, and the 7 securities, particularly the last few, and within the sales agreement.
(I will be going into depth with the May 17th filings soon, which with lay the entire thing out: how short sellers are trapped, the potential deal to give shorts an “out”, because what do we know about naked shorts? They need real shares to close. Hence, GME’s authorized shares coming in like a life raft [of course at the tippy top I hope because f*** SHF] making shorts in debt to GME, GME racks in the dough. There’s so much more to this, but I’ll reserve that for the next post. I’m almost finished with it and I will be including all the U.S. Codes and Securities Laws, as well as the SEC filings that are linked within the S-3ASR,
Which by the way, was just me following RC’s orders straight from the May 17 S-3, which were as follows:
You should rely only on the information contained in this prospectus and any accompanying prospectus supplement or incorporated by reference herein or therein. We have not authorized any other person to provide you with different or additional information. If anyone provides you with different or additional information, you should not rely on it.
We encourage you to read our periodic and current reports. We think these reports provide additional information about our company which prudent investors find important.
To bring this all to a close: Do you know what a comfort letter is? It’s defined as this: In public offerings, underwriters generally request comfort letters to establish a due diligence defense to avoid liability for securities fraud. ( https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/comfort_letter )
This is RC’s way of issuing, metaphorically, a corporation's version of a “comfort letter” to the SEC, in the form of the prospectus, its supplement, and the sales agreement. As means of protection from the shit show that WILL follow after the moon landing, and a strategically pre-established template to plug into after the MOASS.
Simply put, I conclude that 741 was RC referencing to his already in-place plan. It’s RC’s way of letting everyone know, HE’S GOT THIS.

So? Zen, my fellow APE’s. 🧘‍♀️🦍

As for me? I like the stock. I’m going to Buy, DRS, and HOLD 🟣💎🤲

Besides, I got a big trip coming soon, maybe you’ve heard? To the MOON 🌕🚀

\Thanks for taking the time to read, and thanks for having me as a fellow APE.*)

2024.05.20 01:03 melaniewatsonpuppies What can I do to improve my chances of acceptance to UNC (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill)?

Hello! Please give me your raw advice for what I can do to improve my chances of being admitted to UNC. I don't mind a real/raw answer as that is what I truly need (no need to sugar coat). :)
I want to start off by mentioning that UNC is a reach school for me. I just finished my junior year last week and felt that it would be nice for me to get some tips as I am planning on applying to schools this autumn.
UNC is my dream school because I would like to pursue a study in medicine and UNC has a great program for it! To be frank, UNC hasn't always been my dream school. This is because during my freshman and sophomore year, I did not have good grades for someone who would be admitted to such school.
Most of my grades were a B- and I even got two D's on some final exams. This left me completely hopeless and I told myself that my only option was community college. Due to my hopelessness, I did not even think to try any further.
I had a 3.51 GPA through mostly honors courses, but no AP courses. However, my junior year courses consisted of one AP and the rest being all honors courses. I started to receive much better grades in all of my classes as I decided to give it "one last try." Through this, I managed to raise my GPA to a 4.02, which I am very proud of.
This allowed me to gain some confidence and I began to consider more school options for me and therefore, UNC really captured my attention. I have around 150 volunteer hours, several club experiences, some leadership, a few honors societies, 3 years of foreign language, along with 7 years of band. I also took courses from a medical-future-based program since my freshman year. I am also an in-state resident (which is a huge plus)! Yet, my concerns arise, because compared to many admitted undergrad students at UNC, I feel that I do not have enough rigor in my classes.
I do have 3 more AP courses scheduled for my senior year, which will begin in August, but I am not sure if those would count. Upon addressing my concerns with my school counselor and some senior friends who were admitted to UNC, I was told that a strong letter of recommendation and eye-catching essay may help improve my chances of acceptance.
I have already asked some teachers who know me very well and helped me for letters of recommendations and received the OK!
I have a few ideas for what I want to write my essay about, but I am afraid that they may be cliche. My ideas are:
1.) I grew up as "fat" and "ugly" child, but was able to change into what society would consider to be more attractive through my efforts (working out, eating healthier, taking care of myself more in general). I am thinking about writing about how the treatment I received from society (depending on my physical appearance) allowed me to grow/mature, learn, and realize how society truly is like.
2.) When I received the worst grades that I ever had during my first two years of high school (receiving D's on some final exams, always getting 60's on my tests, etc), I truly believed that this was the "end of the world" for me. I am thinking about writing about how my unexpected growth this past school year allowed me to learn about the value of effort and self-strength, how one shouldn't give up, & how I discovered my growing strive and love to be educated.
Thank you so much for reading to this point! I really appreciate you for that. Please let me know about any tips or advice. :)

2024.05.20 01:01 JennedyFKennedy Who to get letters of Rec from?

I’m applying for the first time this cycle and I have two people I know for sure I am going to ask for letters of recommendation from, but as for the last one I’m not sure who to ask. The two people are a professor who is pretty much the head of the prevet stuff at my school, and a vet that I worked with for two summers. For the last one, Im kind of stuck on who I can ask. There are other vets at the clinic that I could ask for letters and would be willing to write them, I just don’t know if that’s something that would be accepted or looked down on? If it makes a difference, the clinic is actually three separate ones, with an exotics clinic as one of them that I worked at last summer. I also have non-animal science professors that would be willing to be write me letters of recommendation, but I’m not sure if the writer of the letter has to be veterinary/STEM affiliated? For example, would it be fine if I asked an English professor, or would that be a bad idea?
Additionally, do you find that more than the required amount of letters is beneficial to an application, or does it not really have a significant impact on acceptance?

Hello, My name is Danni & I’ll be 24 in June ! I would love to connect with others who have capacity for a penpal! I prefer letter centered penpals, but don’t get me wrong, I love adding goodies, questions, playlist, and other fun things!
I love penpaling, playing Nintendo games, listening to audiobooks, crafting, connecting to my spiritual practices, exploring my town & shopping local, collecting, and a few other forms of art and fun! Disclaimer: I’m currently expecting and will be due at the end of this year, but being a parent is not a requirement for me!
I hope that we are able to connect and that our interest align enough for us to become pen friends!

2024.05.20 00:58 Small-Interest-3837 Hira Hira Hihiru: We need more VNs with no cringeworthy anime tropes

Having just finished Hira Hira Hihiru I felt like experienced something for the first time: A visual novel that genuinely has NO anime cringe. There are no embarassing h-scenes shoehorned in, there are no pink haired underage schoolgirls with superpowers, no weird talking mascots, no guys getting nosebleeds cause they saw panties, no harems, its literally just a well written story about society and how it deals with (mental) illness. A breath of fresh air, quite honestly. Would absolutely recommend it.
Now, before you yell at me, Im not talking shit about moeges, eroges or whatever other genre you enjoy. I get the appeal, and I still have fond memories watching anime like Highschool DxD or playing the Danganronpa series. Stories that are just hilariously over the top in many ways and filled to the brim with tropes. But as I've gotten older (and grumpier), I now often just crave a more grounded narrative with an interesting, well written (but normal) cast of characters. You might argue that I should just be reading books then, but I think visual novels have something to offer that books simply cannot provide. I do enjoy the art, voice acting, the sound effects, the soundtrack, and so on.
It really is a shame that there aren't more VNs like that, but I guess trying to mostly appeal to teenagers and young adults makes sense from a sales perspective, cause thats were the money is.

What's Next? Supplemental Claim or Higher Level Review? Detailed Explanation.
Hello All,
I'm going to try to explain my situation in a little bit of detail and try to get advice on how to complete my case. I hope if anything that this can help the next person figure out the proper path to go down.
In my military service as a 91B all-wheeled mechanic I completed a sleep study and was approved confirmed as having sleep apnea. Prior to my service I got excellent sleep but during my service I started to feel extreme lethargy. Multiple times I would fall asleep while driving (one time being during a convoy), I would have constant headaches, and many more of the symptoms from sleep apnea. Prior to service I was 220lbs but during the time-frame I was 185lbs with abs and in the best shape of my life. According to my service records I was obese which was the furthest from the truth. I was diagnosed with mild- sleep apnea during a sleep study with a VA referred institute.
Fast- forward to last year in June where I submitted a new claim that had a recent diagnosis of servere sleep apnea from the VA (with a CPAP prescription). I also submitted for retrocalcaneal bursitis for an injury I suffered in service. I did a C and P examination in November for both. The examiner was a traveling nurse that had no clue she was doing examinations that day (I'm not sure if this is relevant or not). It went by fast and she was kind.
Early January I got my decision letter for the retrocalcaneal bursitis and was approved for 10%. My sleep apnea portion was deffered because they needed more information from the examiner.
Around mid January I was denied for sleep apnea. One of the reasonings was that "There were no findings related to sleep apnea." See first photo attached of the denial. My VSO and I surmised that the cause of this denial was that they didn't receive my sleep apnea exam while in service. Also, they claimed I was obese during that time-frame.
I found the hospital I completed the original assessment in, obtained the assessment, found photos of myself from that time-frame disproving the obesity claims, and sent a personal statement in as a supplemental claim on January 31st.
After months of waiting from January 31st to this past Friday May 17th I finally got a response on my supplemental claim. See second attached photo of my most recent denial response.
My ultimate question is what's the next step? Is there anything else I should submit as another supplemental claim or do I have a case for a higher level review?
I hope I explained everything and would love some advice from anyone experienced in this. I appreciate the assistance so far.

2024.05.20 00:48 Exotic_Guest_7042 Do I have a chance at the Ivy’s?

I just recently completed my Master’s in Social Work and I’m like 90% sure I’m going to pursue a PhD. I’ve been looking into sociology, social psychology, social work, and other similar humanities programs. I’d love to go Ivy, but I don’t think that’s very realistic.
All of my schools have been state/public schools with high acceptance rates, like 80%+, in the US. I wasn’t a top student by any means but I was and have always been a very strong student. I never received anything less than a 3.7 for all my degrees (I have 2 associates, a bachelors, and a masters). I worked full-time while going to school full-time, even in grad school when I also had to maintain a part-time internship.
As a part of my day to day job I was also involved in multiple studies for the medical campus/hospital of an R1 institution and am a coauthor on two of them. This was all during my last year of undergrad and my graduate degree.
I’d love to hear from people at Ivy’s and other R1 institutions what you think my chances would be. Also if you have any advice on the application process, rec letters, and/or tips for my resume/cv.
Edited to add more info: I’ve done limited research into PIs that I’d love to work with and the research they’re doing and have identified a few; 2 of them are at the same institution and operate their own labs, another is local to me, and the last is at an Ivy. I feel confident in who I am and that my personal statement is strong, as well as what I can contribute to the field and research. My worry was my grades and prior work for admission to these places.

2024.05.20 00:45 Raspberry-Zestyclose It gets better just keep working hard :)

Warning this is a very long read without a TLDR
I left this sub and joined the ryerson sub in 2021. Leaving behind my big drive of notes which is what I assume keeps driving these posts talking about grade inflation to my feed. My last few comments were very similar to everyone’s posts as of now - grade inflation, unfair admissions, feeling close to your goals and it being taken away. 3 years later here’s where I came from and what I’m doing now, why it’s not your fault and to offer a bit of hope if it helps. :)
In grade 12 (end of 2021) I had an 89 average, I was rejected from the majority of life sci and health sci programs (if a school had both I applied to both of them) - mac, u of t, queens, western. I got into York psych, health, TMU bio, undeclared arts and psych (waitlist), Laurier health sci and ottawa health sci. (some of my programs might be off if it’s wrong, the overarching field is what I mean). My goal was U of T life sci and to go to medical school. Laurier and Ottawa were off the table after my family and I came to the conclusion that we don’t have the money for me to move away, removing my last two life/sci options. I honestly wasn’t a big fan of York leaving TMU as my last option. I really wanted a life science or health science program because the curriculum after first year was not simply bio, chem, physics so I veered from biology at TMU.
So I ultimately ended up accepting undeclared arts as I was waitlisted for psychology. At the end of June, I got off the waitlist for psychology and accepted that. At the time, I was seriously unhappy with myself I was angry at the fact that people were getting opportunities that I wanted that didn’t deserve them due to inflation and lack of standardization of monitoring of tests during online schooling and just overall how poorly my high school experience ended. I’m talking full breakdowns about how I worked so hard and got nothing in return. I had teachers who genuinely believed that I was one of the best students that they had in years and told me that I would go far. I had a teacher go as far as writing a letter for no reason other than to just say how proud they were of me and how they knew that I would do great - which at the time I truly didn’t believe after not achieving any of the goals that I had set for myself at the beginning of grade 12.
My first year of psychology was online for my first semester where I did decently well I got a 3.0 my second semester, ended up being entirely in person because the online sections of classes were full. At the time I wanted to do medicine this dream quickly got away from me when second semester in person classes left me with a 2.67 gpa for the semester. I had a realization looking upon my peers who were still completely online at TMU or at other universities had much much better GPA than me and I wouldn’t be able to get into medicine with my GPA. So again I felt let down by systems that ultimately led to further inequality in education. I let go of the idea of medicine and had no idea what I wanted to do after my undergrad.
After my first year, I decided to join the course union at my school, which was one of the best decisions I ever made. I met amazing people who encouraged me to do better, peers who were higher years than me and gave me advice when needed and from there, my grades got better. after joining the course union I joined the liberal arts union and from there I worked on about five more different positions over the next two years. TMU is generally not seen as the best school and it’s not necessarily “competitive” but that can work in your favour because there’s so many positions available whereas at other schools where people may be more inclined to take these these positions making them more competitive. Joining these course unions gave me so many opportunities and so many things that are now on my CV that continue to provide more opportunities, for example I was offered a job at the school based on all my experience. My CV is now what I would consider amazing with all the work that I’ve gained that is applicable to the field that I want to work in and because of my experience on my CV I got a research assistant position where I have a great academic relationship with a prof. And I got my gpa up enough it’s not near a 4.00 or anything crazy but it’s good enough for me to get into grad school.
I always knew that I didn’t want to stay in psychology after I graduated so I completed my degree in three years rather than four. I also want to mention you do not need to complete your degree in three years. There’s no need for it. Had I stayed for an extra year I would’ve had so many more opportunities with extracurriculars. It’s just I did not love the psychology curriculum enough to want to stay in it for another year. I had taken summer school courses before coming to this conclusion, and I had so many credits that I didn’t want to switch programs so I fast tracked. All that being said, do not rush your degree unless for example, you don’t like it and have plans to do something unrelated afterwards - for me it was a masters in a different field that the only requirement was a bachelor’s degree so I didn’t see the point in switching. Having gained all of the research experience and extracurricular experience in the field that I want to pursue is what made my degree nonetheless beneficial even though I wasn’t doing what I had originally planned.
As of now, I will be beginning my masters at U of T in the fall (not in psychology). I feel very accomplished and fulfilled with everything I’ve done and I feel like the person that all those teachers said that I was back in high school. While I didn’t go to U of T for life sciences, and become a doctor like I had thought I would I am going to U of T nonetheless for a field I didn’t even know existed. I found and great community and something I genuinely love by continually working hard after feeling like I was ripped off by grade inflation and online school. All of which is so minuscule to everything I’ve gone on to do.
Moral of my story is you might feel ripped off right now, that your hard work went unnoticed and you might feel like you’re never going to accomplish your goals. But the truth is, it's very minuscule to the potential that you have. And as long as you continue to use your work ethic and potential wherever you go, you will be successful. You don't need big fancy school. You can do just as well if not better at schools that are seen as less prestigious or competitive as long as you continue to put in the hard work that you did in high school. So please don't feel like you have lost something but feel that you have gained the potential to do more. If you’re truly uncertain about accepting a program, take the time off think about alternate fields and try applying again, it might be better than toughing it out in a program you don’t really care about. If you’re dead set on going to university this fall, don’t wanna take time off and want to apply again and didn’t get into the one you planned, join extracurriculars meet new people and keep putting in work and it will pay off.
And I’m not saying you’re wrong in anyway for complaining and feeling the way that you feel because I felt the same way. You’re all valid asf. All I’m saying is don’t beat yourself up and don’t feel like you’re the problem because there’s so many opportunities for you so long as you seek them out and take them and you will end up in a much better position in the end.

2024.05.20 00:37 Total_Mountain_9449 Beginner narrowing down options

Hello! I’m a newbie, looking to be able to get sharp pictures that are higher quality than a phone camera. I’ll be taking mostly nature shots, birds, squirrels and close ups of insects. Also want the option of taking pictures of my art work for my website (I’m a stained glass artist)
I’m looking to stay under $1k for the camera body and save up for lenses as I know I want either a sigma or tameron 150-600mm eventually.
I was originally looking at the rebel t7 kit that comes with a 75-300mm lens however I’m concerned with the shutter speed and older tech.
I’ve now turned my focus to either a EOS R50 or a Sony A6100 or A6400. Of these, what would you recommend knowing my goals? Also, what lens should I get to start with for either of these? The A6400 I am looking at comes with a E18-135mm lens

2024.05.20 00:37 penbrok Dear,

I’ve written to you a million times. In letters, poems, prose, and art. I’ve built temples and stars, worlds and universes with words that you’ll never hear, read, or believe.
I tried so hard to not love you, and yet I did. I moved past you, but your memory just walked by me, step by step. And I remember a kind woman. I remember being loved by her. I remember feeling like starlight with her. But she isn’t you. No. You’re something else now. Someone else now. You wake with other people, you don’t think about the past and possibilities of the future.
You don’t hurt like I do, and I don’t think you ever will. I wouldn’t want you to. You would think I would’ve learned by now. To not… hope for more. For your return. For who you were. But I think I’ve always known who you are. I had my turn. My chance. My love. My time. I just wish it wasn’t so.
Standing on deck, I wait for a woman who I lost long ago, and just because you look like her, speak like her, and smile like her, doesn’t mean you are. Now I look for a woman who will love me like she did. I think the distinction is important.
Whoever she will be, I will love her more than I have loved before because she can see who I am, and all this hurt that I’ve been through, and love that about me. Love how I wear it, how I smile through it, and how I love past it.
Je t’aime Elle. Bon voyage.
Time to find port.
Farewell,
Captain Keeper

2024.05.20 00:02 meowcats734 [Soulmage] Write a love letter to someone without them knowing until the very end.

Soulmage

I wanted to leave without a word, because there was a part of me that still thought I was right, and if I spat that venom at Cienne I'd only sicken him more. Then I wanted to write a letter, because I'd tried to make Cienne's choices for him one too many times, and taking my last words away from him stank too much of glass shards and festered bile.
So in the end, there was only one choice that gave back Cienne some of the control I'd wrested from him. There would be no vanishings in the night. No envelopes on pillows with salt-stained pleas.
I knocked on Cienne's door during a frigid, thin-aired noon.
"Lucet?" I heard a thunk twenty pounds heavier than I expected. He was taking to the treatments well. The treatments I'd tried to keep from him. "Everything okay?"
And fuck, things had gone so wrong between us that the first thing he asked was that. "Honestly? Not really. But if you don't want to talk, I'll leave."
I held a slip of paper between my fingers. If he didn't want to talk, I'd slip it into the Plane of Calm when I left. Hiding my last words in a place he'd only reach if he was unshakeable was the least I could do to ensure my absence wouldn't be sprung on him when he was already knocked down.
But the door opened before I could cast a spell, and Cienne was in his neatly-tidied room, his Redlander's robes pooling around his feet. Waves lapped at the warm sand of his soul, and he stepped back in an unspoken invitation.
The paper crinkled in my hands, and I shook my head. "If I step into that room I'm not going to be able to leave," I blurted out.
Cienne tilted his head, lips pursing, and I could see my soul reflected in his eyes, all back-alley bilgewater and broken bottles. The realization swelled inside him like a bubble of magma, boiling his idyllic beach into mist and quartz. "You're leaving the city," Cienne finally said.
I had an entire letter working up to that revelation, and he saw through me in an instant. "I wrote an explanation, if you don't want to hear it from me now, but—"
"If that would make it easier for you," Cienne began, then grimaced. "...no. No, I want to hear it from you. Why you'd rather die by inches rather than let Zhytln treat you, you stubborn—" He cut himself off.
"Go ahead," I said.
"Like hell I will. You came here to say something, and I want to hear you out."
I took in a deep breath, then looked down at the words in my palms. I could drop them and run, and Cienne wouldn't get in my way because only one of us tried to stop people from taking the medicine they needed, and that was the coward's way out and if there was one thing I would never again be it was a coward.
"Okay." I wish I could have met his eyes while I spoke, but truth be told I'd stammer and stutter and shy away if I had to improvise this, so I looked down at my letter and began to read.
Cienne, it simply began. If you're reading this, I'm already gone. I skipped that part, true though it was, and read aloud from the second sentence. "You're building a life here, and I can't be part of it. Because you're finally happy and healthy and safe and content, and there are things I need to do that won't let me ever be any of that."
Cienne's hands twitched, as if reflexively he wanted to reach out to me, to comfort me like he had so many times before. Before. Before we'd clashed. Before he knew what it meant to be a riftmaw.
"Part of me wanted to hide where I'm going for your own good," I continued, and I was glad now that I had an excuse to look anywhere but at Cienne. "But I don't get to decide that for you. So while you're living your life on the docks of Knwharfhelm, the same abomination of an institution that gave us cancer and killed Sansen is still murdering and brainwashing and claiming the moral high ground while they're at it. And I'm going to steal their medicine and wreck their war machine and show them what a pissed-off soulmage with nothing to lose can do. And this is where both of us belong. You enjoying your freedom and health. Me trying to win that for everyone who didn't escape. Because that's why I'm doing this. For the people like you who never found their peace. And for the one who did."
Lines of frost crept from my fingertips, ink twisting into brittle runes. I looked up at Cienne, as if he would convince me to change my mind, to take Zhytln's treatment and stay in the struggling, growing household he'd made.
Maybe there was once a Cienne who would have asked me to stay. But I'd killed that man on the docks of Knwharfhelm.
"...Will you talk to Meloai and Sansen before you go?" Cienne finally asked.
"I knew I'd only be able to do this once."
Cienne closed his eyes.
"Then go," he finally said. "And when you see Witch Aimes..."
His brows creased, eyelids twitching, and his soul shuddered and wrenched. He never finished his sentence.
"I'll know what to do," I said. I almost reached out to take his hand.
But his soul was placid and still once more. I'd disturbed him enough already.
So I drew a line in the air, peeling open a rift between our home and the streets of Knwharfhelm, and took my first step towards the Silent Peaks.

2024.05.19 23:59 IdealistCat What M. Arch in western europe would be more suitable for me? What unis could I apply to given my curriculum?

My interests
I have taken some selectives in art. I have a good foundation on structural design and detailing, but I only see them as a way of achieving the stuff that really interests me, because the structure conditions the form, and uderstanding how the building is built can affect the final product. My main interests are public art, sociology, theory and context study. My process is very research oriented, I believe research on history, society, climate, material availability, etc. will give me most answers when designing. Thus, I would like a programme that is heavily focused on that.
Why western europe?
More precisely, western continental europe. Because american and british universities are very expensive, even more so for foreigners. I could pay for my living expenses, but not on top of tuition. The thing that worries me is subsidized universities often care more about grades than portfolios.
Also because the languages I speak are: Spanish (Native), English (C2), German (B1, working on getting to C1).
Some universities that interest me: TU Berlin, Tu Munich, ETH Zurich, UP Catalunya (Preferably Valles), UP Valencia, KTH Stockholm, Aalto University.
Curriculum Vitae:
5 year B. Arch for National Autonomous University of Mexico (Top 1 in my country)
1 year working experience at Taller de Arquitectura X (Famous office in my country). Role: Research, detailing, drafting, modeling.
6 months paid internship at Taller Mauricio Rocha (Famous office in my country). Role: drafting, 3d modeling.
6 months of Social Service (Requirement for graduation at mexican universities) at MUAC (Contemporary art museum). Role: Management, Art installation mounting.
6 months of Social Service (Requirement for graduation at mexican universities) designing social housing. Role: BIM, environment research using grasshopper, design.
Other stuff
Two published papers in my university journal.
88/100 grade point average (I think my weakest point, and it is what worries me the most)
Fairly good portfolio, including some award winning projects
Could get letters of recommendation from my employers or academics from my faculty, but I didn't see it as a prerequisite on many places

2024.05.19 23:52 CryProper2280 [PubQ] When should one panic in the query process, and is there something I should try to fix before shelving? + How to know when R&R advice should be accepted?

Main question: After a surprising R&R and halfway through the querying process, should I attempt to save my manuscript by getting editorial help, or should I let it (potentially) die out with the last half of my agent list?
More context: Back in October, I started querying my novel after 5 beta readers, 1 critique partner, and two big-name agent consultations who gave me the green light to query. I started off with several agent requests from various pitch contents, and within a month, I had several fulls out. By December, most of those fulls turned into rejections, some kind and some form. I knew this was to be expected, and decided to take a break from querying for a few months in case I had some thoughts about revisions.
In early 2024, I was accepted into an acclaimed mentorship for the novel, and after another round of revisions with this trusted mentor, I sent my novel back into to query trenches in April. Now it’s been technically 2-3 months of sending this MS out and 7 months of this MS being out in agents’ hands, and I now have a decent request rate paired with 8 full rejections. Of the 4 full rejections who gave personalized feedback, 3 made it seem like there was a small reason why they had to pass (using only one personalized sentence) while one agent gave me a very lengthy R&R letter begging me to rip apart my beginning and start in a completely different manner.
After careful consideration, I’ve concluded that this agent did not read beyond 25 pages (my 20-25 page mark features one of the major things she told me my story lacked). However, their primary advice was to have my 1st chapter start somewhere else and have the main character do something completely different. As much as I’d like to consider this feedback, making such a change would alter the rest of the manuscript, as I’d have to introduce everything from the current Chapter 1 at some other time — all of which doesn’t make sense to me, and would only make my already long manuscript even longer. My book is a mystery/thriller, and shifting the pace and creating a new goal-based plot line (as also suggested) would upend the characteevidence balance I've already worked to create. They even said the way I’m setting this story up is not doing justice to everything else I’ve created for the book, which they listed to demonstrate specifics. I have no idea if this R&R is pointing out something crucial to my story succeeding, or if it's just their preference and I should take it with a grain of salt.
If you’d like further context, I can provide it, but TL;DR: This R&R is making me wonder if I need to rewrite the book or seek editorial assistance (possibly $3,000, I would go with someone on Reedsy) in order to save this book for the last half of my querying journey. Should I try to salvage, or should I let this book die in the trenches and move on? Or, is there an underrated craft book anyone can recommend if you've had to go through the same thing?
I'm aware this is a highly personal situation, but if anyone has gone through this before, I'd be happy to hear about it.

2024.05.19 23:44 AnnaAtisuto I'm afraid to be left jobless due to AI in the future. Need your advice.

So basically, after this summer I (18f) enter the university to start a graphic designer degree. It is something I wanted since I was in middle school. My artistic skills were always good and I never questioned the fact that my job will be related to art. Now, the thing is... Yesterday YouTube recommended me a video of a guy from UK that worked as a graphic designer in one company for six years, but recently was fired due to AI. And the craziest part is that the AI his company obtained was trained on this guy's projects that he created for the company over the years of working. After watching the video I can't stop my anxiety about my life.
Right now I think I'm lost and most importantly, afraid. The degree that I want to start will also teach me the basics of animation, illustration and more stuff, but now I don't know if all of that will provide me any economic stability in the future. I do have a "plan B". This year I finished professional music school so now I can play in orchestras while being paid for it, but it's not something I imagined for myself... And it's not my passion, I like playing, but not as much as I love creating art.
Please, if you work in a similar field, tell me about your current situation. Or if you know someone who does. I really don't know if I should actually rethink everything and search for another option as fast as I can. Thank you for reading this.

2024.05.19 23:43 americano_black Graduation Photoshoot Locations

Hello,
I would like to know for specific outdoor areas/spots in the city of San Francisco that are good for graduation photos. The only place I can think of is the Palace of the Fine Arts. I have other criteria as well for recommendations. I do understand that a lot of places will have heavy foot traffic since this city is very scenic lol. The reason for this is I did schedule a photoshoot but the timing was terrible and it ended up ruining everything =/
Any who, thank you and I appreciate the help =]
  1. Golden Gate Bridge in the background
  2. Easy to drive to
  3. Best time and day of the week
  4. Parking isn't a sh*tshow
