Hi all! Have been lurking on this page reading so many helpful posts and comments since our LO needed to be on mostly formula. She is just over 1 month and is combo fed, but like 95% formula. Wondering if anybody has some advice or has been in a similar situation!
She usually takes bottles voraciously without issues, but over the past few days has been crying after a bit of sucking, or not really taking the bottle into her mouth but blocking it with her tongue.
We use narrow dr. Brown's anti colic bottles, but just picked up a few other brands to try over the next few days.
She also used to have a better latch with her lips pursed, but lately her lips have been curling in on both the breast and bottle.
She's also been falling asleep and becoming uninterested in the bottle quickly, before finishing even 2 oz sometimes.
Not sure if related, but she has a gnarly diaper rash that we're working to clear up, and her bottle issues seem to have coincided with this rash.
She IS still eating and has on average 8-10 wet diapers a day, but it is a struggle to get her to latch on to the bottle.
Any tips or advice welcome! Thank you!!

Happy off day friends. With tomorrow’s Game 7 the only thing on the NHL docket until the Conference Finals start on Wednesday, I wanted to deep dive into something I had found mildly interesting: there will be four teams in the Conference finals this year, each of whom have not won the cup in 25 years. Dallas is the most recent in 1999 and exactly 25 years ago, followed by the Rangers in 1994, and the Florida Panthers who were founded in 1993 but have never won the cup. The Canucks also have never won the cup and were established in 1970 while the Oilers last won in 1990. This has never happened before.
That’s the tl;dr: Every Semi- or Conference Finals in the history of the league has featured either a team that won the cup in the 25 years prior or a team that hadn’t existed for 25 years.
This started as I looked for the last time the most recent cup winner among the four finalists was at least 25 years prior. That would be in 2004, when the Flames, Sharks, Lightning, and Flyers were the Conference Finalists. The Flames were the most recent cup winner of those four teams, having won in 1989, exactly 25 years previously (I love this coincidence with the Stars also being at exactly 25 years this year). The Flyers were also nursing a 29-year drought at the time, while the Lightning and the Sharks hadn’t existed for the requisite years.
Edit: I can't math, this isn't 25 years. I return to the deep dive to try and find the last time the most recent cup winner in a conference finals was 25 years prior.
Edit 2: I believe I return to the 94 Conference Finals. With the Devils setting the pace with their inception in 1974 and the Canucks not having won the cup, the most recent cup winner in 94 conference finals was the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1967. That was 27 years prior.
This is where the deep dive started, as I was next interested in if any conference or semi-final in the history of the league featured teams with such large cup droughts. So, let’s go all the way back to the beginning.
Pre-Original Six Era. 1927-1942
The NHL became the only league with claim to the Cup in 1917, but it wasn’t until 1926-27 that the league began using a playoff format that included four teams in the Semi-Finals. That year, the Ottawa Senators won the cup with ten teams in the league. From 1927 to the beginning of the original six era in 1942 (15 years), every team that played in the league other than New York Americans and Pittsburgh Pirates/Philadelphia Quakers won the Stanley Cup. Many of those teams were only founded within the few years prior to the 26-27 season, and those that weren’t had already won a Stanley Cup.
Original Six Era. 1942-1967
When the league reduced down to six teams in 1942, all of the remaining teams had won the Stanley Cup during the prior era. The longest drought at the time belonged (somewhat ironically) to the Montreal Canadiens, who had not won since 1931. They ended their 13-year drought in 1944. Two of the six teams never won the cup in this era, the Bruins and the Rangers. But since four of the six teams made the playoffs, it would be impossible in this era for four teams to make the playoffs with none of them having won in the past 25 years.
Expansion Era. 1967-1992
When the league expanded to 12 teams, they made a fascinating decision to split the league into the Original Six and Expansion Six divisions. Even when two more teams were added to the league in 1970, and two more in 72, the only non-expansion team in the West Division was the Chicago Blackhawks (hilariously, the Vancouver Canucks played in the “East Division”). So for those five years, it was impossible for the Semi-Finals not to include at least one expansion team.
In 1974, the league introduced the Wales and Campbell conferences, which remained in place through the end of this era in 1992 (which is conveniently 25 years since expansion). While it would not have been impossible for four different non-expansion teams to make the conference finals, it never happened. From 1967 to 1992, at least one non-original six franchise made the Semi/Conference Finals. It could have gotten close in 1979, when the Islanders were the lone non-original-six team in the Conference Finals. But, even had the Black Hawks beaten the Islanders in the Quarterfinals, the Canadiens were on the verge of a four-peat.
(Other of note here was the 1980 Semi-Finals, the first time in history that the Semis only featured non-original-six franchises)
But by virtue of at least one expansion team in the conference finals before any of those teams had a chance to have 25 years in the NHL, there was always at least one team in the Semis/Conference with a drought no more than 25 years.
Pre-Salary Cap Era. 1992-2004
By the time the clock turned on the 92-93 season, 25 years after the Expansion Six joined the league, only two of those teams had won the Stanley Cup. More teams would hit the 25 year threshold in this era, but with more teams joining the league and the lingering years of the 70s and 80s dynasties, the buffer remained for at least one team. This era did have 1994 conference finals with the Canucks, Maple Leafs, Rangers, and Devils, all of whom had 20+ year droughts at the time. This is also a significant year, in that the Devils “set the pace” at exactly 20 years since their inception in 1974. The first time since 1928 that a team’s inception was more recent than another Conference finalist’s last cup.
A close call in the 1997-98 playoffs featured the Dallas Stars, the Washington Capitals, and the Buffalo Sabres, all of whom had never won the cup and were over 25 years old at the time. The Red Wings rounded out that group, though, and they had just won the year prior. The St Louis Blues lost in the quarterfinals to the Wings; had they won, they would also have had a 25+ year drought.
And then, the era ends with the last time the most recent cup winner of the remaining teams was 25-years prior. The aforementioned 04 Conference finals featured two teams with 25+ year droughts and two teams that weren’t yet 25 years old. The Lightning, established in 1992, were 12 years old.

This is a pretty historic conference finals. While 25 years might seem a little arbitrary (and if you’ve made it this far, thanks for not pointing out that it’s actually only 23 seasons), it’s the longest ever shared drought between four teams in the league at the same time. To look into her cheating, was impossible at the time as I was never home. and to busy providing for my family.
fast forward to now. My disease started to become worse and over three years; it didn't reveal itself until last year fully to actually pinpoint what this was. for instance, I had in 2019 pain behind my eyes and horrible headaches to the point that I thought I had MS. following year, I had trouble swallowing for 3 months. next year itching in the skin for three months. But prior, I had visited various doctors to see what was going on, each time a flare up then would last 3 to four months, which again, when you don't understand what's going on, you need to take time off to go see doctors, run tests, but this illness was and still is very elusive. with that being said I had 5 jobs since its first flare up till last year to continue to support my family and to pay child support. as of last year. I'm having trouble moving on certain days, breathing and acid reflux and muscle atrophy. (disease progression) especially when this is going on, it worsens everything as this is flared up. I was working under the table to try and make ends meet as I was paying child support still. I should add that the child support with 50/50 custody was $1029 for three kids cause I was making six figures at the time of divorce in 2018. Last year however, I couldn't work anymore, and filed for disability.
In june of last year, I had asked Susan, to get the children school supplies, (which she never does) as I was still paying at the time $1029 in child support. She said she didnt have the money despite now making 70k and her new BF living with her and is working whom she cheated on me with. With me working under the table, I bought them clothes, haircuts, school supplies (ive done every year) but then, I noticed she went on vacation to puerto rico and got a giant leg tattoo. And you may judge me for this. but i have filed for disablement for paternity, meaning I am removing myself from the birth certificate. However, in the state of Florida, a mother can deny this and so can the courts. before you judge me, I have many reasons none of which have to do with him other then his mental disability (Aspergers) This illness, as days go by takes more and more from me. As previously aforementioned, I am left with 250 a month. I cannot go get a drs appointment pay for groceries or start planning my funeral which I will start making payments on soon. He also eats three times the amount that we all collectively do (Not his fault) but I have paid enough both mentally and financially. He also has trouble communicating as my suspicions is, that he was born of incest (gross) which is why I was 'chosen' to be his father at the time. Before you ask how do you know? Lets just say she had an uncle 'leave' during that time.
anyways, in February, I had the temporary modification hearing for child support and needless to say it was a circus. My doctor was subpoenaed to be there by my attorneys request to better my argument, even though I felt we didn't need her, she advised me to have my doctor there. Well, he attorney attacked my doctor and me for an hour and 40 mins when the court case was only supposed to go for an hour. He said "you saw another dr Max so and so and they said it was all in your head" (again I had flare ups on a illness that hadnt revealed itself correctly since last year). So there argument was that I was doctor seeking to avoid child support. After I have paid for 13 years never missing a payment. Her lawyer also targeted people who are living with me. Now I'll admit that I said they were friends which is true but how else can I pay for my attorney? Cant work, cant sell drugs, cant rob a bank? So they want to take there income into consideration. BS. She also hired a private investigator to watch me exercise outside and stated that because I can exercise, I can work..... Ok. Where's the 23 hours of the rest of the day watching me in pain. or when do you have me on video of a flare up from this terminal illness? (that's what I wanted to say)
Although I was granted the temporary modification, of $209, I left the court thinking wow, this woman can cheat, commit paternity fraud, not give two craps about our children, live with her mom in a section 8 home, and here I am doing whatever I can and I've done nothing wrong but be lied to and this is how my government, my country treats me? No wonder men my age dont have children this is insane. The paternity issue wasn't even brought up they said that this isnt the place for this and that the disestablishment will be another trial for those wondering. My lawyer only spoke for 5 mins. Asking her about her income cause thats the only thing that has changed since 2018 since she didnt work at the time. Other than that, it was an attack on me and my disease arguing my ability to work.
after leaving that, I didnt eat for 96 hours. I have since been crying nonstop. Compilating suicide. I am already heart broken about my son not being mine. Sure does a terminal illness make me said, no question everyday. But a life wasted on another? Cause I decided to be a man and take up responsibility? thats soul crushing. And to say "well, there is a big chance the courts will deny your request' thats BS. If i go to prison because I was accused of a robbery for 13 years, and DNA evidence proves I wasnt there, I get out of jail and can sue. This is no different. If anything, DNA evidence needs to be more of a factor in family law than in almost every court of law if not as equally important. My bad for not investigating her infidelity not only in the beginning but also in the end. How about not being a POS. sorry rant over

after the temp hearing, in april, I had to go to court to contest my drivers license suspension as I hadn't paid child support since, august of last year. again, there is no way, I can pay my bills, feed my children, go to the doctor, pay my lawyer to end all of this BS and pay the current child support amount. and again, this final hearing is still not set yet. So they intercepted my tax return, even though the temporary modification was approved, the final is what gets it retro backed to the date of filing, so they took, a much needed 5500 tax return from me. I needed that cause one of the issues I failed to mention as well, hurricane Ian has destroyed my home and I'm still going through that process too. not to mention I am on payment plans with Mayo clinic and other various medical facilities. (no one cares) but the interest that accrues, makes it impossible to catch up. also, Florida department of rev is overstepping I feel, and asking for medical info to be sent to them as well as updated doctors letters to be sent saying that I am still on disability.
a few weeks ago, I got an email from my lawyer having a withdrawal notice from her lawyer. in the withdrawal, he stated that he cannot represent her, due to something she may have withheld or lied about (more or less wasn't worded like that but you can tell). In feb court appearance they never produced the PI report, or videos, they had medical info they shouldn't have had, and they had very outlandish comments about my lifestyle. So my lawyer filed immediately a motion to compel. meaning, we want to see everything you have on my client. this was filed almost immediately after court appearance on feb 20th. Susan has failed to provide any updated info requested by my attorney so on june 18th, we have that upcoming hearing.
in the mean time, I have sent my lawyer, a very heavily requested topics, such as "where did they get my medical records, if those were lies, what are the consequences if any"? What did exercising have to do with any of this despite various drs saying he has to or he will get worse.
I know wat you must be thinking, what about your oldest, how can you do that to him. Please listen. This woman has taken everything from me. And i mean everything but the roof over my head. I am seeing a therapist to help with the suicidal thoughts. it isnt enough. the reality of it is, I chose to be loyal and it bit me in the butt. I sent this to my lawyer and she is looking into it. But it shows that child support will overstep and breaks every law or freedom you may think you have. I DO take care of my children. if they need a haircut i do it, school supplies clothes, anything I do it. And I do it, cause she wont. What I want to leave you with, is that woman can be dead beats too. Child support was designed to have woman off of government subsidized programs like section 8 food stamps and what not. Also to make the man pay for their children man or woman I should say, I know this. I am not running from my obligation. I just want Susan, to have to pay for what's she's done to me and the kids.

I want to preface what I'm about to say by first saying I am not using depression as an excuse, but rather an explanation.
I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder back in 2012, but have been living with depression since 2010.
Fast forward to April 2019 and I have gotten progressively worse mentally, but was finally able to move out into my first apartment with my boyfriend. Now, 5 years later, we're still together in a different apartment and I have somehow let it get so terribly unclean. My boyfriend understands me and my depression, but I think he's starting to be over it because he's stopped helping clean entirely.
My cat vomits up his food a lot so there's just random piles of dried up cat vomit in places (I do clean it up occasionally but because it happens all the time, it feels fruitless.). There are empty Amazon boxes stacked up in the corner of two different rooms. We have several trash bags full of pop cans that I hate bringing back to the store so they just sit in the laundry room. Speaking of laundry, I have 3 baskets of clean clothes sitting out and a huge pile of worn/not quite dirty clothes on the floor and a massive mess of clothes we don't wear in our bedroom closet on the floor. (We both hate putting clothes away. We also each have a dresser with empty drawers for aforementioned reasons.)
Dust has collected on practically any possible surface you can think of in every room. The dining room is full of empty pop can boxes, two bicycles, and my cat's hair all over the dining chairs. We never eat at the table, by the way. There is random trash sitting everywhere: on the kitchen counter, on the floor in the living room, in the computer room, in our bedroom.
I could probably keep going, but I think you get the point. Being plagued by depression has made it so difficult to keep up a clean environment and I feel bad my boyfriend has to live with me. I have a therapist and she is helping me to be proud of myself even if I pick up one single piece of trash, but it doesn't feel like enough when my whole apartment is a disaster. I never have anyone over visiting so I don't ever have an incentive to TRY to keep it clean.
I asked my mom, who has 20 years of professional cleaning experience, if she could help me deep clean my apartment, as well as help organize it properly (and yes, I am paying her).
As I am working with my therapist to understand my mental, I'd like to work to maintain my apartment better. I want to put effort into it and be happy with the appearance of my home, rather than be embarrassed at the thought of the state of it. I want to be able to spontaneously invite my dad or a coworker and not be like "oh wait, it's a pigsty."

So I was diagnosed recently and currently working through titration with a private GP - currently Day 4 @ 40mg.
I’ve come to the conclusion I may be perimenopausal and this actually has triggered my symptoms worsening enough to seek an assessment.
