2024.05.10 15:40 JcFuerza Top 9 Mobile RPGs of 2024! (my research and predictions) Android

tl;dr 0 - (disclaimer) Mobile Gaming has seen a bit of a decline this year, but it is still the biggest gaming platform in the world. I messed up last year with my predictions, So this year I am taking a different POV at the games being released and how I rank them in my videos.
tl;dr 1 - The RPG genre is the biggest game type in the world and mobile gaming is the biggest gaming platform in the world. 2024 has some really exciting games coming out, so here are my top 9 picks for MMORPGs for 2024: Ex Astris, 9th Dawn III, Project Mugen, Caves of Lore, Death Road to Canada, Oceanhorn, Juicy Realm, Coromon, and Warframe Mobile (I give my reasons for choosing each one, so if one of these confuses you, make sure to read the post before raging 😂)
tl;dr 2 - I made all of this with game footage into a short HQ video here: https://youtu.be/E1ThNQxqKng
But for those of you who prefer to read, here is the Video Script:
The RPG genre is the biggest game type in the world and the mobile phone is the biggest gaming platform. 2024 has some really exciting games coming out. Some of which few people know about. So in this video, I am going to tell you the top 9 mobile RPGs of 2024.
From a technical standpoint, almost any game could be considered an RPG. Even in a shooter game where you are some random soldier, you are playing that role so technically anything could count, but as gamers, RPG means something much more specific. It is still a broad category, but most of the time, it is not a shooter. So in this video, my team and I compiled very different RPGs coming out this year so that everyone watching will have a few they will like. If you find one that you don’t like. Make sure to use timestamps up there or down in the youtube player itself to find one you do.
The first game on our list is Ex Astris, a 3D sci-fi RPG, showcasing stunning visuals and engaging gameplay. You'll play as Yan, an investigator from Earth, tasked with exploring the vibrant world of Allindo. One of the standout features of Ex Astris is its innovative combat system, which combines elements of both real-time and turn-based gameplay. Players have the opportunity to time their attacks strategically, allowing for counter maneuvers and devastating combo attacks alongside allies. Each character in the game boasts its own unique backstory and set of skills, adding depth to both the narrative and gameplay experience. Unlike traditional RPGs that rely heavily on random battles and grinding, Ex Astris offers a more streamlined progression system that emphasizes skillful gameplay over mindless repetition. Success in battles hinges on the player's ability to master timing and strategy, rather than simply relying on brute strength. This approach not only keeps the gameplay challenging and rewarding but also ensures that every encounter feels meaningful and engaging.
Ex Astris - Apps on Google Play
The second game on our list is 9th Dawn III, an expansive dungeon crawler RPG that offers players a wealth of content to explore. Serving as the third installment in the series, the game builds upon its predecessors' success while introducing new features and improvements. While the storyline loosely continues from the second game, the game stands on its own without knowing what happened previously. This latest installment sees players equipping their best gear before battling their way through snowy regions, towering mountains, and dense forests, each teeming with secrets to uncover and challenges to overcome. Players will encounter over 270 different monsters, each presenting a unique opportunity for taming and integration into their team. This mechanic adds an exciting layer of depth to gameplay, allowing players to assemble a formidable party of creatures to aid them on their journey. In addition to monster taming, players have the opportunity to enhance their character's abilities and skills, further customizing their gameplay experience. With the ability to unlock spells, craft powerful weapons, and master various attributes, players can tailor their character to suit their preferred playstyle.
9th Dawn III RPG - Apps on Google Play
The third game on our list is Project Mugen, an upcoming open-world RPG developed by Netease. Distinguishing itself with a futuristic theme and vibrant anime artistic styling, the game unfolds on a planet that bears similarities to Earth but is marked by the coexistence of humans and supernatural entities. Players step into the role of an Esper known as the Infinite Trigger, entrusted with the crucial task of maintaining the world's delicate balance by monitoring anomalies and paranormal events. The gameplay revolves around team-based combat scenarios. Each engagement features a squad of four distinct characters, each contributing their unique abilities and skills to the battle. Success in these encounters requires strategic coordination and effective utilization of the characters' diverse strengths. Moreover, the game emphasizes the importance of interacting with and leveraging the surrounding environment to gain a tactical advantage.
PROJECT MUGEN Official Website - Fly! Over the top of the world
The fourth game on our list is Caves of Lore, a pixelated turn-based RPG. Set in a dark cavern plagued by a strange fog known as the Calamity, players embark on a quest to uncover the truth behind this mysterious phenomenon and restore the lost memories of the people affected by it. In Caves of Lore, players gather a party of adventurers and navigate through treacherous dungeons, each grid filled with hidden secrets and fiends waiting to be discovered. As players progress through the game, they gradually unravel the mysteries of the Calamity and piece together the forgotten memories of their own past. The game's narrative unfolds through a series of engaging text-based interactions, where players encounter a diverse cast of characters and embark on various quests across different areas of the world. Along the way, players must make strategic decisions in turn-based battles, utilizing formations, skills, and terrain to outmaneuver their foes and emerge victorious. Despite its pixelated graphics, Caves of Lore boasts charming visuals and environments that capture the essence of classic RPGs.
Caves of Lore - Apps on Google Play
The fifth game on our list is Death Road to Canada, a randomly generated road trip Action-RPG that promises massive amounts of replay value. As the player, you take on the role of managing a group of quirky characters as they go on a perilous journey through cities infested with up to 500 zombies at once. The game's randomness extends to its core elements, including locations, events, survivor personalities, and skills. The Death Road spans from Florida to Canada, the last nation on Earth, offering a diverse array of special events, rare encounters, and unique recruits along the way. Throughout the journey, players must navigate text events that present tough choices, with outcomes that vary based on the composition of their group. Each character possesses distinct personalities, and betrayals among the group are not uncommon, adding an element of unpredictability and tension to the gameplay.
Death Road to Canada - Apps on Google Play
The sixth game on our list is Oceanhorn, an action-adventure RPG heavily inspired by the Legend of Zelda series. Oceanhorn invites players into a narrative where they awaken to find a letter from their missing father, setting them on a quest to uncover the truth behind his disappearance. Armed with only his old notebook and a mysterious necklace, players go on a journey across the islands of Uncharted Seas, a perilous world teeming with dangers, puzzles, and secrets waiting to be unearthed. Each island presents unique challenges to overcome, from intricate puzzles that test players' problem-solving skills to thrilling encounters with formidable adversaries. Along the way, players uncover clues that shed light on their father's fate and the enigmatic Oceanhorn, weaving together a narrative rich in mystery and intrigue.
Oceanhorn ™ - Apps on Google Play
The seventh game on our list is Juicy Realm, a rogue-lite experience where players find themselves immersed in a future where monstrous fruit reign supreme. In this world, plants have ascended to the top of the food chain, leaving humanity scrambling for survival against their formidable foes. As a player, you embark on a perilous journey deep into the heart of the Plant Empire, where you'll face relentless waves of deadly fruit at every turn. Armed with an array of weapons, your task is to fend off these fruity adversaries while scavenging for valuable resources and gear to aid in your fight. Each encounter poses a new challenge, requiring quick reflexes and strategic thinking to overcome. At the heart of Juicy Realm lies the choice of character, with nine distinct options available, each with their own unique abilities and traits. This diversity allows players to tailor their playstyle to suit their preferences, adding depth and variety to the gameplay experience.
Juicy Realm - Apps on Google Play
The eighth game on our list is Coromon, a story-driven tactical RPG, drawing inspiration from the Pokémon franchise while carving its identity as an indie game. With over 120 monsters to catch and evolve, the game offers a substantial roster for players to explore. The pixelated world serves as the backdrop for turn-based battles and exploration across various regions, contributing to a nostalgic yet distinct gaming experience. The game's focus on turn-based battles adds a tactical element to encounters, allowing players to strategize and exploit the strengths and weaknesses of their Coromon. The captivating world of Velua serves as the stage for exploration, featuring different biomes that house a variety of creatures waiting to be discovered. Coromon emerges as a mobile RPG that fills a void for those seeking a Pokémon-like experience on the platform. With its expansive creature roster, engaging turn-based battles, and a world brimming with secrets, the game offers a compelling alternative for players eager to explore the realms of monster-taming and tactical strategy on their mobile devices.
Coromon - Apps on Google Play
The ninth game on our list is Warframe Mobile, the port of the popular sci-fi MMO third-person shooter. At the core of Warframe Mobile is a dynamic gameplay loop where players go on missions, level up, and amass an arsenal of new weapons and gear. The thrill of completing objectives and overcoming challenges is complemented by cooperative missions, where players unite to strategize and confront enemies as a cohesive team. A standout feature is the game's robust crafting system, empowering players to craft new weapons and equipment using resources gathered during missions. This adds a strategic layer, encouraging resourceful exploration and customization of loadouts to tackle diverse missions and challenges. Warframe Mobile delivers the same fast-paced, action-packed gameplay that has enamored fans of the original, all while introducing mobile-specific features for an optimized gaming experience.
Warframe
Well, that’s it guys. Hope that helps. If a game is not on here that you think should be on here, it is probably because I put it in a different genre, like perhaps adventure games, or MMOs. As mentioned, RPGs can bleed into so many other categories, so I might have put in another video. Most of those videos are already out, and you can see them in this playlist here. Alright guys, I'll see you next time!

2024.05.01 01:11 CorrestGump [PC][2000-2010] Zombie MMORPG with GAU Avenger and Candy Cane of Doom

Platform: PC online
Genre: Zombie MMORPG
Estimated year: Sometime between 2000-2010
Graphics: Top down, maybe 16 bit.
Notable characters: Large zombie that looked like a standing Licker from Resident Evil.
Notable game play mechanics: "safe" zone town that you start in, once a day (maybe more?) the town would be attacked by zombies and you could participate in the defense.
Player-run marketplace, meaning if another person didn't have it for sale then you couldn't buy it, they could also choose the price.
You could leave the safe zone and go into the city to scavenge. The farther away from town, the harder the enemies. You could go into buildings to search for things. The city was a grid but some areas were blocked off.
Some of the weapons that I remember were a GAU Avenger that was super expensive just to buy and super expensive to run with the number of bullets it needed, but it made quick work of zombies. Also a Candy Cane of Doom (or death?) that was a Christmas special.
Other details: it was originally top down third person but they changed it to first person on Unity player (I think) and I stopped playing.

2024.04.27 10:40 Blu3b3rrySeason 31/EU LF friends/couples with similar on/offline gaming prefs (fantasy, action, crpg, challenges, ...)

Heya! Right now, I am diving back into PC games and I'm painfully realizing that with my current online friends we don't even have similar taste in games, or they're mostly from the US, so I'd strongly prefer if you're from the Europe. I'm basically looking for someone who feels like s/he can connect with me about some of the areas mentioned below.
Europe only, any gender, age ideally max +-5-7 yrs from me.
I'm not necessarily (immediately) looking to play anything together, I'd like to keep this pressure-free. Totally fine just talking about games and what else not. Btw I also enjoy hanging out with people who just wanna privately stream their games (and the other way around) and wanna chat about the game while playing, sometimes even though it's a different genre from what I'd play. I also have had a blast gaming with couples, so if you're a couple or two friends who are looking to involve another friend, I'm totally up to it. I haven't been really playing anything the past few years, I've tried to focus on the life out there, and oh my, I'm so bored with it. I prefer participating in an imaginary world much more. Can't believe I took the bait about "having a life", it's all bullsh1t.
Edit: some online games I might pick up in the future are Project Loki (in the dev), Battlerite (idk why I dropped it?), hell, even Paladins because I don't want OW again. Enshrouded looks interesting, but I'm not the biggest fan of the genre. Basically, I want a game that has heroes with skills, but isn't MOBA or battle royale. A huge fan of mmorpgs when I like the world/artstyle.
My most fav games of all the times are DA:O, ME1, HK, Frostpunk, Bookwalker, DS1, ... Considering non-Steam, OW1 and Vindi I've greatly loved lol. As well as WoW retail cuz of Sylvanas (but I jumped into the game pretty late, and it felt annoying jumping in for the raids since all the playerbase is 10 years ahead). I am not too interested in the newest expansion, but wouldn't mind subbing just to play some of the old exps I am not familiar with, or get dragged into the raids and PvP.
Genres I stay away from at all times is anything with zombies, horror, gore, realism/historic games (so absence of fantastical world), huge tbs/strat games like Civ, puzzle, walking sims, any sims, sports, sandboxes, sometimes open world games, funny and relaxing games, I don't enjoy co-op games much (prefer online games), ... tried to get into MOBA but I just hate the looong thing with the lanes. Survival games are a bit stressful to me but I suppose with the right people I might be open to it (such as Enshrouded). I've been hoping to find something that feels similar to what OW1 used to be.
I typically love looking for a challenging gameplay (even though I'm far from very good - I am just one of those persistent morons), I've enjoyed team fights in OW1 and the intensity and action of the gameplay, and occasionally I like to play singleplayers with awesome level design and with melancholic/darker mood that immerse me in its world (such as HK or DS). I'm a sucker for good vs. evil themes.
About me: I'm 31 from Czechia. o/ I am the kind of the person who's friends with people who tend to vanish for a couple of weeks and I'm totally fine with that - absolutely no pressure. Contrary to this post, I'm far from long-winded (esp. in voice), I just sometimes struggle to find the right words for what I mean.
If this caught your interest, by all means don't hesitate and hit me with a message.

2024.04.26 18:50 MeekoAllenINTP The MBTI Ecosystem

The MBTI Ecosystem
This post explores the three major schools of thought and the interconnected geopolitics within the typology community.
The subcultures, internet forums, and online communities to which one is exposed, as well as the people one befriends, dates, or learns from within the type community, are crucial. These include Personalitycafe, YouTube, Subreddits, Typology Central, IDRlabs, Open Jung Journal of Typology, intpforum, intp central, CognitiveType, Tiktok, Personality database, facebook groups and Tumblr profiles such as MBTI Zombie, MBTI database, and Weirdfella.
In the typology community, you’ll typically encounter these “types” of people:
Self-Improvers
Regardless of the level of scientific, spiritual, or philosophical rigor they attribute to Jungian typology, they value it as a tool for personal development in personal life, relationships, or workplace settings.
This group constitutes the more enthusiastic majority.
Casuals
These participants may harbor legitimate skepticism towards Jungian typology due to dissatisfaction with its scientific, philosophical, or spiritual depth. Alternatively, they may have preconceived biases that lead to rejectionist views.
Their engagement often manifests as indifference or displaced anger towards the concept of typology. This is seen in those who troll or play devil’s advocate, as well as those who engage only when the topic arises situationally due to a superficial interest they find harmless to indulge in.
This group represents a moderate majority.
Enthusiastic Theorists
They believe that there is a basis for Jungian typology, whether it be metaphysical, evolutionary, neurological, or empirical.
This group is in the minority.
Part 1 - Mainstream MBTI Experience
Aside from the notable contributions of Isabel and Katherine Briggs, other researchers or typologists have provided foundational type descriptors that are extensively referenced, both directly and indirectly, within about 90% of the type community. This is merely an estimate, as I cannot ascertain the exact readership for each individual. However, based on the frequent references within type social groups and among contributors who focus on personal development, interpersonal problem solving, relationship and dating advice, team building in the workplace, self-help culture, and the popularity of related websites, there are common themes. These include an empirical basis for MBTI, its utility alongside the Five-Factor Model (FFM), and other modalities, as evidenced by varying studies, Google Scholar publications, and citations.
The individuals I am about to mention are frequently discussed when introducing MBTI:
John A. Johnson, Heidi Priebe, Ray Moody, Mark Majors, Mina Barimany, Lenore Thomson Bentz, Naomi Quenk, Harold Grant, Magdala Thompson, Thomas Clarke, David Keirsey, Alan Brownsword, Jean Kummerow, Roger R. Pearman, Sarah C. Albritton, Leona Haas, Jane Kise, Paul D. Tieger, and Barbara Barron-Tieger.
Moreover, classic descriptions from Simulatedworld and Silke’s post "Individuation and Development of Functions" on 16types.info are seminal.
Popular Think-tank and Reading Websites include: - Practicaltyping, Verywell Mind, Personality Growth, Truity, Personality Junkie (by Dr. A.J. Drenth, Elaine Schallock) - Personality Hacker (Antonia Dodge) - The famously influential Tumblr group, MBTI-Notes
Popular tests include: - The official MBTI test, which is the most well-known, but other notable and free tests are: - IDRlabs (celebritytypes), known to have a myriad of different tests on various subjects aside from Jungian Typology - The Keys2cognition (Dario Nardi Test), which reflects Nardi’s vision for refining the test - The Sarkinorva Test, utilizing the Grant/Brownsword model and incorporating various schools of thought - SimilarMinds, known for its interdisciplinary psychological and refined typology approach - 16personalities, which speculates on statistics and adds a dimension of emotionality/neuroticism, labeled as assertive and turbulent, and uses cartoons. The latter is so interwoven within the collective consciousness of people in MBTI groups through memes. Interestingly, this is humorous because memetics bears a similarity to archetypes.
Typeform, though less popular, presents an interesting testing approach that applies machine learning to gauge overall temperament, i.e., mood and emotions, before taking the test.
Honorable mentions:
YouTubers like Chris G (Exploring Psychology), Bogdan Yakubets, Frank James, and Alexis Kingsley also significantly influence the community in various ways.
Rae Carlson's work focuses on the applications of how different MBTI types experience affective memories.
Researchers exploring the application of sophisticated AI and machine learning methods to validate mainstream MBTI concepts and their potential applications through MMORPGs or social media platforms include Ian Frank, Budi Laksono Putro, Yusep Rosmansyah, Suhardi Suhardi, Raad Bin Tareaf, Weiling Li, Matej Gjurkovic, Jan Snajder, Shruti Garg, E, Ashwani Garg, Partha Kadambi, Punati Venkata, Jahnavi, Pulivarthi, Hima Sumana, Shaik Charishma Kousar, Pasupuleti Himaja, Kondru Jeevan Ratnakar, Yi Joceline, Jia Xin, Thoufia Zumma, Jerin Akther Munia, Dipankar Halder, Sadekur Rahman, Kulsum Akter Nisha, Umme Kulsum, Saifur Rahman, Farhad Hossain, Partha Chakraborty, and Tanupriya Choudhury.
Part 2 - The psychodynamic vs MBTI approach to functions
This school of thought is more strictly psychoanalytical or influenced by it, and has been refined in better ways.
Contributors to this include Erich Neumann, J. H. van der Hoop, Linda Berens, John Beebe, Fudjack P. Dinkelaker, James Hillman, Daryl Sharp, H.K. Fierz, Phil Goss, Angelina Bennet, Mark Hunziker, Murray Stein, Edward Armstrong Bennet, Carl Alfred Meier and the meme of the philosophy wheel when compared to MBTI types.
The group that used to be known as CelebrityTypes, but now operates as IDRLabs, has been associated with the Open Journal of Jungian Typology. They have contributed to the Function Axes Theory and many philosophical ideas about psychological types, but re-contextualized for a contemporary audience.
The most notable is Michael Pierce, whom one friend referred to as the gold standard of MBTI. You also have Ryan Smith, Boye Akinwande, Liam Silveira, Eva Gregersen, Jesse Gerroir, Lee Morgan, Luke Whincop, and I even believe Juan E. Sandoval from Cognitivetype wrote two articles for the Open Journal of Jungian Typology when the website was still available. Fortunately, I saved some of the articles, though unfortunately not all of them.
Websites concerning similar concepts include outlawpsych, carljungdepthpsychologysite, and ARAS (The Archive for Research in Archetypal Symbolism). Content like Boolean11’s post “Feeling as a Rational Function,” Silke’s post “Cognitive Processes and Epistemologic Parallels,” and SolitaryWalker are greatly influential.
The Typology Wars
Within the type community, there are debates regarding what is most essential. Some argue that MBTI has bastardized the original theories, or how Jung’s approach is more unscientific and controversial, especially when his racial biases are mentioned. Some apply other psychoanalytical ideas to types, like the ego, synchronicity, and archetypes, while most do not. Some believe MBTI is false or is empirically valid in some ways (McCrae, Robert R.; Costa, Paul T) but is better used as a heuristic to maximize the usefulness of trait models like the FFM or Hexaco, with Jordan Peterson in one video arguing about the application of how MBTI is useful.
Honorable Mentions
Although Integrative psychotherapy and the Internal Family Systems Model (IFS) are not based on MBTI or Jungian typology, the echoing concepts of how the interdependence balances between opposing personalities across different domains (cognitive, affective, et cetera.) are very similar to how the personal development applications of the dichotomies and the shadow operate.
Interestingly enough, Jaak Panksepp had a tripartite model of emotions he labeled as primary, secondary, and tertiary, similar to the cognitive stack model. And when you consider the connectivity of top-down and bottom-up hemispheres along with the left and right hemispheres, it brings up more potentials of how cognitive functions may operate at the neurological level, be it macroscale or microscale.
This researcher, Robert G. Sacco, didn’t specialize in studying MBTI per se but referenced it in a study in which he argued about the potential relationship between Fibonacci sequences and synchronicity. He noted how INFPs score higher on having such experiences and discussed how further improvements could be made in the future after delving more into that topic.
Part 3 - The Radical and Unconventional Typology Systems
This school of thought is radical in that the research groups here challenge the conventional understanding of MBTI and Jung’s ideas, altering the direction of their application in various other disciplines and hypotheses.
Socionics Framework (Ausra Augustinaviciute’s Model A, Grigori Reinin’s Dichotomies, V.V. Gulenko’s Model G) shifts the MBTI J/P designation, such that an INTP in Socionics would be labeled as INTJ. It also emphasizes the importance of relational dynamics and Information Metabolism.
James Reynierse revisits the structure to align it more closely with the Five Factor Model to enhance validity.
The Singer-Loomis inventory of MBTI highlights non-bipolarity, and its scaling method measures cognitive modes independently, creating a spectrum of responses. It uses ipsative scoring to emphasize the individuality of each test taker and incorporates situational variability of context-specific aspects in an interactional, fluid approach between an individual’s dispositional (stable) characteristics and emergent pattern states.
Wave Theory of Type Dynamics Henry L. Thompson views Jung’s typology as a nonlinear, dynamical system rather than a static model of 16 types. It incorporates concepts from chaos theory and complex systems. He believes that character development occurs in a multidirectional nonlinearity and operates across multiple dimensions and levels of consciousness. He emphasizes the importance of Psyche Development over type development. At this level of consciousness, there are interconnected stages deeply influenced by both intrinsic traits and external factors. Similar to principles from chaos theory, small changes or variations in initial conditions within these stages can lead to significant and often unpredictable outcomes, akin to the butterfly effect. As individuals progress through the waves of development, new aspects of personality emerge that were not evident in earlier stages, illustrating the dynamic and evolving nature of the human psyche. The development process features feedback loops where past experiences influence future behaviors and decisions, allowing for retrospective shaping of one’s developmental path based on earlier encounters and insights.
Neojungiantypology (Christian Johansson, Erik Thor) uses an interdisciplinary approach that includes MBTI, Enneagram, Big 5 Traits, DISC, and others but with an emphasis on Jungian Typology neurological potential which echoes a similar framework as seen with P-Fit (parietal frontal integration theory), Cognitive-experiential self-theory (CEST), and the Top Down Bottom Up modes done by Stephen M. Kosslyn, and G. Wayne Miller.
CognitiveType’s Vultology (Juan E. Sandoval) deconstructs elements in socionics, mainstream MBTI, and depth psychology and how they apply in the field of affective neuroscience with influences from people such as Paul Ekman, Charles Darwin, and others. I would say this model, especially if working in conjunction with the Neojungiantypology approach, has the most potential in discovering great insights for future enthusiasts and researchers in the social sciences.
Honorable Mentions
I forgot to add objective personality and dario nardi. And in general there are more names I could of added but I decided this was already extensive enough and gets the point across.

2024.04.23 22:24 Deuxcartes [DISC] I need help creating categories for fantasy manga/anime

LIST OF FANTASY MANGA/ANIME CATEGORIES
Hello everyone. My idea is to use some categories to put my manga list and divulge it to the community. But before that i need to increase or improve the categories itself. So i need some comments and sugestions. Thank you for your time in advance.
.
Im already working on a Isekai category list: https://www.reddit.com/Isekai/comments/1causjf/comment/l0x4x58/?context=3
and also have some "other" types list
.
Prior decisions
A) - Romance: There is no category for romance, since the overwhelming majority of fantasy mangas with male protagonists and a good number of female protagonists have some degree of romance. The category would have so many items that it would lose its meaning.
B) - School/magic academy: there is no school category as it usually refers to an initial arc or training arc in which the protagonist prepares to face the main challenge that is already known or will be revealed during this arc. If the work is not canceled at the beginning, eventually the protagonists tend to leave the academy, so there is no reason to create a category of something that is temporary.
C) Primary/Secondary character: Another temporary feature. Everyone knows that MC will eventually become the main character of the plot line. The fact that they are secondary is just a script decision to give some development to the characters instead MC starting OP or leading countries from the first chapter.
.
Lets go.
.
1 – Demon king/cult (and similar) kill - The protagonist's mission is to face/defeat the demon king or similar. It doesn't have to be a demon king, just the fact that the protagonist/group must overcome this challenge from the beginning and the plot revolves around that.
2 – Expelled from the party - The protagonist begins by being expelled from a group and then continues his journey alone or with another group. Revenge is not the protagonist's objective, and when it occurs it is something secondary.
3 – Revenge – The protagonist’s goal is to take revenge on someone, something or even some country/race/world. The story fundamentally revolves around this.
4 – Slice of Life/Slow life - There is no goal or mission. The work only records simple, everyday situations involving the protagonist. It usually contains romance and often harem.
5 – War Fantasy - The protagonist’s life is circumscribed in an environment of wars in which he must win or survive.
6 – Survival Fantasy – The protagonist is placed in a hostile environment where his main objective is to learn to survive. Generally the MC will form groups and even communities.
7 – Territory building/managing – The character must reform/consolidate/manage a territory and protect its residents.
8 – Dungeon Master – The character must build/manage a dungeon and face its invaders/challengers as he becomes stronger.
10 – Modern Fantasy - It takes place on a planet with characteristics similar to ours, but generally with the appearance of dungeons and people are guided by a game system.
11 – Time Travel - The character, for some reason, be it death or having used an item, has the option of going back or forward in time in the same or alternative realty and starts following his journey from then on.
12 – Reincarnation – The main character died and, due to the convenience of the script, wakes up years earlier, having the opportunity to become stronger and avoid the events that led to his death.
13 – Switch Place / Body – The character ends up switching roles with another character, either because that character ran away or died, or even because the protagonist took on someone else's body.
14 – Non Human MC/FMC - The protagonist was born or transformed into a species from that region. Anything goes, as long as he's not a human.
15 – Waifu/Husbando Collector - The protagonist's main objective is to get as many women as possible. History is just a cheap justification for this.
16 – Caretaker – The character decides to dedicate his life to caring for other characters, usually children or animals.
17 – After Mission - The character has already fulfilled his revenge, has already won the war, or even killed the demon king, the series addresses what happens to the protagonist/group from now on.
18 – Monster breed/summon – The protagonist has the ability to summon, tame or create monsters. And he can only fight through the use of them.
19 – Cooking fantasy – The protagonist is dedicated to culinary appreciation or work, and the entire series can revolve around this.
20 – Comedy/Parody – The focus is on references, clichés and funny situations involving the characters in the work.
21 – MMORPG (MC is not stuck there) – The character has an ordinary life on planet Earth or equivalent, but spends his free time in an MMORPG/VRMMO. Although the story revolves around the MMO, the character can come and go freely.
22 – Adventure – There is no demon king, ongoing revenge, or war surrounding the protagonist. It is the protagonist/group who defines the objectives, which could be acquiring fame, being the strongest, overcoming a rival, obtaining an item. Whatever.
23 – Super heroes - Characters who receive supernatural powers, espers, heroes, witches, it doesn't matter. They do not have a game/RPG system to help them and they generally have organizations that commit crimes and others that fight them.
24 – Supernatural – Addresses religious themes, spirits, ghosts, horrendous creatures (vampires, demons, zombies, etc.), curses and people who deal with these phenomena on a daily basis. It may have elements of horror, suspense and gore.
25 – Martial Art – Involves the world of Murim and martial arts and cultivation. When soft arts is the main element and there is no predominance of another category, then it may belong to that category.

2024.04.17 02:16 Silo_lmao Every Chinese MMOrpg is so trash

No need to explain. I’m currently playing undawn on pc and I used to play LA on mobile back in 2020 and I still fucking hate how fun but trashy these games are. I also hate how every game that’s Chinese and is MMOrpg will be dead with little to no players to play with if you are new. Not to mention how every fucking one of them is p2w , I don’t care what’s new that’s the same concept like this earth revival or once human bullshit is coming out. People always say “this one will be less p2w” bitch how the fuck is a game less p2w if there are still aspects on how the game lets people who pay progress 10x faster? Even now I can’t believe I just spent almost 200 bucks on a trashy floppy Chinese zombie carbon copy of life after ass game that I used to play. I think I’m going to stop paying them but it’s just sad how fun these games are to play but it’s just annoying having every game, yes every game be p2w . That’s not even the point as well. They are all the same games, undawn graphics is so bad but they are still better than life after like how is that possible. 140 million dollars to make and it’s this piece of shit? I expect every game that says it will be better than “said game to be the exact same or maybe worse”
Tl;dr Chinese games suck

2024.04.13 20:37 ModernCaveWuffs Did Saito Toshimitsu in The Chinese Bellflower Dagger get nerfed?

I want to put it out there that this is not a brag and this dude kicked my ass many times way back when. I recently picked Nioh 2 back up cuz it's one of the only games I know that allow me to izuna drop demons and people alike while using fist type weapons and I got to the Chinese Bellflower Dagger and dreaded it cuz of onmyo spam and odachi oneshots that haunted me. but like, that onmyo mage lock tho. So I sucked it up and got prepped for another slog of facewalling until success in the true soulslike way. Of course I buffed before taking a single step towards him (barrier, quick-change, steel, gallnut broth) then just bumrushed him out the gate in an attempt to bring his ki to 0 and keep up a barrage of charging him so he couldnt recover which I know is the usual tactic but...It felt like his ki pool was very small in comparison to before, maybe 3/4th of what it used to be and felt like he didnt have as much hp this time around. I dont think I got any better as a gamer overall as my recent library consists of mmorpgs and zombie shooters. He just felt....easy.

~ General Recommendations (All Consoles) For Anyone Who Can't Decide ~

First off, I won't recommend big or famous games like Final Fantasy or Persona, this is more for lesser know, hidden gems, or just games where it's hard to find someone talking about them.

[Valkyria Chronicles]

[Valkyria Chronicles 4]

This one is really hard to explain through words alone, but just in case, the VC series is a World War 2 military setting story, where you act as the lead of a squad and take mission to drive back the enemy. The story is drama heavy and the gameplay is tactical turn-based, but it's mixed with real-time third person shooter.
You can also make your own army by recruiting different types of solders, training them and upgrading their gear. From rifles to tanks, this is a game you have to experience to understand.

[Monster Sanctuary]

This is a solid game, everything in is polished and balanced to make sure you are having fun collecting new monsters and customizing your team through evolution/skill trees/gear and making the best in-sync party you can. I only wish it was longer, it's not short by any means, but it's not long either. I would say depending on if you're trying to "catch them all" and explore everything and fight all bosses, this could easily be a 30+ hours game, but if you focus on the story, then it's about 20 to 30 hours. Now even longer with the 2 new free DLC expansion added.
Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining that it's short, but that I was having so much fun, that I wish it didn't end.

[Ni no Kuni] Series

If you're looking for that great Isekai fantasy adventure feel, then these two games are where it's at. Fantastic visuals and great music, coupled with a great art style, a combo that is perfect for a chill and relaxed gaming experience. Especially when talking about the first game, with the help ofStudio Ghibli, they managed to make a truly whimsical world with that Studio Ghibli classic touch.
- Important Note: The games aren't connected story-wise, so you can start with any of them -

[Wrath of the White Witch]

For a the best fantasy adventure feel, while the combat is a hit or miss depending on your taste, don't let that stop you from actually diving into a true fairy tale world, this is the one with the better story in my opinion, so if you want more story than game, this is for you. Still it has a good share of gameplay, from raising and collecting Pokemon-like monsters, to learning and using different spells, not just in combat but for the overworld too.

[Ni no Kuni™ II: Revenant Kingdom]

This one focuses more on gameplay, with a Kingdom builder, Army battles, Heavy loot focus, and even character collector, this is the one to go with if you want more game than story. Still has the great music and he fantastical art style and setting. Add to that a lot of side activities like beating rare monsters, collecting cute creatures to help you in battle, and even going around the world to gather people to help you build your kingdom. You'll never be short on things to do.
Finally, both of them have beautifully draw world that is just a pleasure to walkthrough, made even better with the amazing orchestral soundtrack.

[Star Ocean The Second Story R]

The original PS1 game was already an amazing JRPG and a classic. But this remake takes it to go even further beyond SSJ3. It should be the standard on how to make a faithful remake on of a classic title.
I don't want to overhype it more than I already did. So to keep this short, this remake does so much:
  • All major story events are now fully voice acted. This includes a lot of the private actions too.
  • Fully redone and better translation of the game.
  • New Character to recruit to the party.
  • New Private Actions and 13 new Endings.
  • New character portraits, not just for the main cast, but also for many other characters.
  • A complete rework for the battle system to be up to modern standards.
  • So many QoL features:
    • Auto-saving
    • Fast-forward cut-scenes or skip them.
    • Text log
    • All difficulties can be accessed from the start
    • Fast travel
    • 3 different voice dubbing options to choose from (New English, Original Japanese, New Japanese)
    • Your choice of different art styles
    • Choose between original OST and new rearranged OST.
    • No random battles anymore, as enemies can be seen and avoided
And believe me when I say I still haven't touched half of the amazing work that has gone into this remake.

[Sword and Fairy 7: Together Forever]

They did a great job with the presentation of the game. Great voice acting (Chinese), great graphics, amazing music, and an impressive attention to details of the world and it's lore, especially the engineering of the buildings and their decor. Then you have the really beautiful design of each piece of gear, and even just normal attire of each NPC and the disciples of each sect or soldiers of each of the different of each plane (gods, humans, demons).
Then we go to how great looking the monsters and local flora and fauna of each realm. You can feel the intense work that has gone into making and animating each of them. It really is a joy to watch them, as much as it is to watch each environment you see them in. There really isn't enough time to talk about how good the presentation is.
As for the story. First off, I am not an expert in Chinese novels mythology, but I am a big fan of Xianxia and Wuxia novels. So when I say that the story is...good but nothing great, I am saying this as more than just a JRPG fan, but also someone who is very into this type of world and Chinese martial arts fantasy setting. it's nothing that will stick in your mind, apart from the events that take place in some of the beautiful set pieces in the game, or the cut-scenes with beautiful action cheoragphy.
The gameplay is also about average. The side-quests are fun and are worth doing if nothing more than for learning more about the lore and the world. But the actual battles and action gameplay isn't as good as the best ones out there, but it's not bad. I have ran into some bugs, some small, some big, but that was when the game just came out, and it did receive a lot of patches since then. You can tell that they aimed to make a huge triple A production, but didn't have the time or manpower to test a game of this size. It's still fun to play and experience, but the level of gameplay is nowhere near the level of the presentation that the game gives the impression of having just from watching the gameplay or trailers.
If you enjoy walking through magical and fantastic looking JRPG worlds, or if you enjoy Xianxia/Wuxia fiction, then this is an easy choice. Hell even if you don't, it's still worth a go at this price.

[Ys series]

This is a case of a whole series is filled with great games, it's really hard to go wrong here.
But if you're going to choose one, then this one is an easy pick. Fantastic soundtrack ? check! Great Smooth Action gameplay ? check! Dogi the wall breaker ? check! Base building and crafting ? check! and check! So if you're looking amazing music while you hack and slash your way through monsters and bosses, then Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA is easily your go to game.

[Battle Chasers: Nightwar]

An actual kickstarter JRPG that more than delivered what it set it out for and then more. It went under the radar since release, but it's a great turn-based JRPG with great characters and challenging combat. Then add to that:
  • A satisfying crafting system.
  • Arena fights.
  • Fishing.
  • Deep and interesting Skill trees.
  • A fantastic in-game encyclopedia with an actual incentive to complete and gameplay rewards.
  • A great tiered loot system.
  • Dungeons with random events, traps, and side-quests every time you enter.
And last but not least, really great monsters to battle and rare ones to hunt. It's more than worth full price, but right now it's dirt cheap.

[Fuga: Melodies of Steel 1 & 2]

Great game, great art style, and really well made and balanced turn-based combat. That alone is enough to get the game. Then you add the time-management part of the game, where you spend time upgrading the different tank rooms, cooking, exploring ruins, spending time to bond with other characters, and so on. It's also great if you want a game that you can play for an hour or 2 and then put down for later. As the game is played through stages, and once you're done with a stage, you get an intermission to do what you want and come back to it later.
It's not a long game (compared to the usual JRPG), as you mentioned, it's about 20 hours. Story-wise I think it was a bit too short. Gameplay wise it was great fit, because it didn't outstay it's welcome, and it ends when you feel you have mastered the gameplay and want to face the final challenge.
The story is good, but isn't the focus. Gameplay is the main focus. In fact you'll feel that a lot of context isn't told in the story, but instead left for you to either read about in the in-game wiki or just figure out through obvious clues in the story.
There is a big mechanic that this meant to put a lot of pressure on your playthrough (don't worry about it being spoiled because it's literally explained in the first hour of the game). The thing is though, if you have experience in JRPGs or just play in a really well thought out and relaxed manner, then that mechanic might not be as big a deal as they make it seem to be. Yet it's still fun nonetheless.
Fuga 2 is even better. It fixes a lot of the minor issues the first game had, and what's really great, is it improved the "big pressure" mechanic I talked about, and now it actually is a big deal. Then add to that so much little new mechanics added that just makes for a much more fun and challenging game. The 2nd game also continues the same story.

As always, please do add your own recommendations, and let me know if there is mistake or if something was missing, and have a nice day.

2024.04.01 01:33 Whynotmynaut Non-Combat Grand Master Quest Idea

This is my idea for a non combat related GrandMaster quest in OSRS called The Three Sisters. Currently no grandmaster quest has zero combat, and this one would be the first!

for context the three sisters are three plants that grow well together by providing physical protection and an increase in nutrients to each other, see wikipedia for more info

I need help in showing this idea from someone on reddit by having them make a black background yellow text with visual examples cuz im a turbo boomer (millenial) who doesnt have the skills needed

Quest Name: The Three Sisters
Difficulty: GrandMaster
Length: Very Extremely Long
Quest Points: Probably a Lot
Description: You see a disturbing number of hungry people on Zeah, and begin to ask around about the issue. Eventually the Queen of Varrock take notice and sends you along to do the small favour of checking in on what going down.
Quest Requirements: A lot of the highest level quests, and some novice ones too
Level Requirements: Pretty high, especially Farming
Items Required: Quite a few, but I better let Jagex figure this one out
Recommended: Patience
Enemies to Defeat: None, this is kind of the point about it being a non combat grandmaster

here is a basic break down for the quest

the queen of varrock hears a troubling rumor about people starving because house hosidius cannot keep up with food needs
the queen tells the varrock museum to look into it, and the museum knows you have solved many an issue around the world (requires high kudos)
hosidius indeed is running low on supplies but has heard of someone named Yanni Salika who is apparently able to get people to do anything
there have been a lot of references lately to one small favour, and going to her to get things started is perfect for the long to do list coming up for this quest
Yanni tells you that she has been talking to farmers out on a new continent called varlamore where some scientists and a single engineer are attempting to create an intertwined crop
stage 1 begins here, where you will be experimenting with how well three specific crops grow together and to see if the crop yield is increased
upon the success of this crop, you tell the scientists about the hosidius food shortages and they gain a new scientific interest
the scientists say they will head for hosidius, and you head to report to the varrock museum
the museum and the queen call for a meeting of "some of the greatest minds" in farming to come together to resolve this issue
you tell them to also invite a rep from the intertwined crops scientists
the meeting occurs in varrock and invitations are sent out
reps from the master farmers guild, the queen of the fairies, al kharid, keldagrim dwarves, gertrude for some reason, a grand tree ambassador, a house hosidius member, and Yanni come
they all decide to start a giant intertwined crop experiment based on what the scientists rep tells them about their successful crop
the queen of the fairies agrees to find a new realm in the fairy ring system to hold the giant crop
the master farmers guild agrees to provide some of the seeds needed, but not all because someone has been stealing a LOT of seeds from them
Al kharid pays Ali to provide tools for the workers
keldagrim agrees to send the Black Guard as security for the work site
gertrude says she has too many cats and is willing to send some to handle rodent issues at the work site
the grand tree agrees to use gnomecopters to transport some supplies and to transport supplies up and down the giant crop in exchange for the rights of gnomes to explore new places
varrock museum agrees to fund the project
the queen of varrock promises political support despite the king not being present since he doesn't care about plants
Yanni agrees to become the site manager, much to the chagrin of our player

stage 2 begins here, Yanni says she has a list of people for us to talk to and tasks to handle that she isnt sure how to go about but may have some clues
sort of like in recipe for disaster, players can do the following tasks in random order
some of the contracts have willing participants, some need convincing, and some need to be forced/coerced/blackmailed
some of the info Yanni provides may not be as detailed as what I list in the contracts below
these contracts will be in packs sorted by type by Yanni
contracts packs must be completed in full before she gives the player another set
as each set of contracts gets completed, you can see more groups of people/creatures doing various work at the actual work site

here are the contracts

Concerns relating to Magical Needs
contract elves to create crystal secateurs for pruning possibly magical plants
contract ralos cult to enhance power from the sun for healthier crops
contract the nature spirit to create a fresh shrine to bless the growing cycles
contract lunar mages to provide astral dust to protect from as much disease as possible (not perfect, possibly due to nefarious action)

Contracts relating to Hard Labour
contract trolls to scare away creatures trying to eat our plants
contract dwarves to create scaffolding
contract burgh de rott for workers (in exchange for food for their peoples)
contract king awowogei to provide monkeys to harvest from deep beneath branches
contract frogs from the new silly quest to come eat bugs pestering our plants

Contracts relating to Required Knowledge
contract tai bwo wannai farmers or brimhaven pirate farmers to provide farming know how (variety of farming techniques needed)
contract a new ghost gardener npc located somewhere that needs a ring of visibility to reach to learn ancient farming techniques of binding plants together for protection
contract grand tree gnomes to fly harvests down from high places
contract a new ancient npc possibly in a desert ruins for some ancient seeds
contract Rantz and his kids to shoot at birds trying to eat seeds and nuts from the plants

Concerns relating to Logistics
contract the king of miscellania and the queen of etceria to manage the work sites money
contract tool leprachauns to transport tools to the work site from Al kharid
contract the spirits within the elid river to create new spirits to bless the waters used for the work site
contract gardener ghost (ed lestwit) using ghostspeak amulet for helping to create a transportation method for burgh de rott
contract white knights to work with ed lestwit to create a portal system through the abyss for supplies to reach morytania
contract port piscarilius fishing colony to provide food for workers at the work site

Concerns relating to Healthy Soil
contract penguins to bring ice to melt upriver and flow to the work site by convincing them that they need to spy on the work site and could do so with the contract
contract the spirits within the elid river to create new spirits to bless the river waters used for the work site
contract bert to send sand to zombie pirate island
contract farming guild to send fertilizer to zombie pirate island
contract the stuff makers to send the stuff to zombie pirate island
contract zombie pirates to ferment all the fertilizer stuff into mega compost

when everything is finally ready the master farmers guild reminds you that they can only provide some seeds, and that the player needs to source more
the player gets frustrated with all of the work and decides to provide the seeds themselves
the player provides 100 each of 4 basic seeds, 50 each of 2 mid level seeds, and 25 of 1 high level seed, and 10 each of the three tithe farm seeds
for the quest, it takes only 48 hours to grow the giant crop (1/10 that of the after quest version, also 1/10 the seeds required)
once it is grown and house hosidius is satisfied that it can not only feed itself, but sell extra food around the world, the player returns to varrock museum to report
the museum listens and pays the player a modest sum of gp (not a common quest reward), and the queen of varrock sends the player back to Yanni to see if anything else needs done
the quest officially ends here when Yanni asks you to make her a coffee and hands you a set of instructions with 317 steps that the player refuses to read
Yanni also tells the player that everyone seems to have done TOO well in coming together for this project
she thinks we might be able to create an MMORPG, or Massive 'Morgeshborg Of Random Plants Growing which is an absolutely huge version of what was grown during the quest

some quest reward ideas include the following
the ability to provide seeds to the MMORPG to grow many seeds at once for a large amount of experience in farming
a new route for the gnome gliders between grand tree and the MMORPG, which may be added to the seed pod as a teleport
possibly some new potions and secondaries, for example a potion that increases herb and allotment yields by 5% stacking with secateurs with a ten minute timer on the potion (for farm runs)
the crystal secateurs for an even higher yield of herbs and such, for example additional 5% yield increase
combined new max yield for crystal secateurs is 15% on the secateurs, plus 5% from the new potion, and 5% from Attas seeds for a total of 25% yield increase maximum
a new compost called mega compost created by bringing your own supplies to the zombie pirate island and fermenting them together (15% better than ultracompost?)
the ability to put random seeds to use (seed sink) that sit in the bank or seed storage at the farmers guild in the stage 3 minigame
a large number of tithe farm points (alternative to the minigame), thinking maybe 50 points for the quest more during MMORPG
possibly an active minigame of pruning and fixing various parts of the work site as things grow to increase yield
new crop types from combining stuff together to form crops from the new ancient seeds

stage 3 begins here after the quest ends offically, have the player participate in providing seeds for a MMORPG acronym experiment of nearly all plants, see next for acronym of MMORPG
the player provides 1000 each of 4 basics seeds, 500 each of 2 mid level seeds, 250 of 1 high level seed, and 100 each of the three tithe farm seeds
This huge crop takes 480 hours (20 days) to fully grow and would provide 500 tithe farm points (this is roughly double the points given for depositing 300 grown fruits)
it would also provide a large harvest from the seeds provided with a natural increase to the total crops grown of 10%
I would like to have an npc of me like BigRedJapan, I can be an engineer who is struggling to understand the botany and science happening around me at the work site "I did not sign up for this"

grow times are....long....but the player is also able to grow 250 high levels seeds at once as well as 1000 mid level seeds at once. This needs to take a long time for such a large yield!

Very open to hearing extra ideas on this, pros and cons and such
Would love to hear from a reddit expert on posting this in a community oriented fashion

2024.03.19 16:56 sweepli Help me find some missed singleplayer games

So recently I was too fed up with MP games and I decided to run it down and beat all of those SP games I wanted to play but haven't yet. My absolute favorites and those I'd include as "must play" are:
The Last of Us 1/2
God of War 2018
Red Dead Redemption 2
Zelda BOTW
In every one of those games I had moments I could literally not stop playing and found myself sitting up till 6am blown over the game.
Games i've finished and liked:
Days Gone
Resident Evil 2 Remake
FFXIV (best MMORPG story)
Dying Light
Monster Hunter World/Rise
The Walking Dead
GTA V
Games that I already own/intend to play in the future:
God of War Ragnarok
Resident Evil 7/8
Elden Ring
Baldurs Gate 3
Red Dead Redemption 1
Zelda TOTK
Zelda OOT
Zelda Windwaker
Link's Awakening remake
The Witcher 3
FF XVI
Ghosts of Tsushima (i hope I spelled it right)
Uncharted
And lastly, franchises that I played but found okay:
Tomb Raider
Far Cry (I think the franchise lost it's charm after FC3)
Call of Duty campaign's (i think that MW2019 was great but the rest was alright)
Assassin's Creed (origins, BF and Valhalla were great, but I don't intend to play any more AC games for now)
Dead Island
So, I am basically looking for those story rich games. I won't mind an okay gameplay if the story is worth it (like TWD for example). Of course a good gameplay is a bonus, but it's not the most important aspect for me. I also prefer non-open world games like TLOU, but I do appriciate and love an open and living world like RDR2. I'd also prefer more of an hack and slash melee combat like GOW, BOTW, Elden Ring with RPG elements rather than shooters, but am open to shooters as well if it's worth it (like TLOU.) I own a PC, Switch and PS5 but prefer PC titles (I know ghosts is expected to launch on pc) as I am poor with controllers. Had hard time beating TLOU 2 on survivor difficulty lol. Only game I found easier with a controller was FF7R.
So I would like to hear which games I missed out and totally should play which are not on my list. I am sure there are some other games I tried/finished in the past and didn't mention in my list but I am pretty sure I got most of them, at least those I enjoyed the most. I do own some of the games I have on my to-play list because I saw them for cheap on that stream sale, so I don't mind waiting for other specific titles to go on sale, i can wait
I also REALLY love games with a challenge, so I am not afraid of trying out those hardcore games. I never played souls games so I am looking forward to try Elden Ring soon, hopefully before it's DLC. I've spent days on certain MHW(ahem.. fatalis) bosses and hours on GoW's valkyries. And I loved it. So that's a big bonus. Plus, if there are other zombie apocalypse games I've missed, this genre is also a favorite of mine.
Anyways this is too lenghty, TL;DR: Looking for story rich games with either a top tier story, gameplay or both that I didn't mention on my to-play list. Love RPG, prefer non-open world (but okay with both) or semi open world like GoW and hopefully a challenge to face during gameplay. Thank you y'all!
EDIT: recommended games from here that I'm adding to my list:
Outer Wilds
Sekiro
DMC
Undertale
Horizon Zero Dawn
Metro trilogy
A Plague Tale
Dead Space
Dragon Dogma
Nier Automata
Thank you everyone for the help! Seems like I would have way too many games to beat and i'd be busy till the end of 2025.
