2024.05.31 09:19 BruteSentiment Daily Minors Quick-Notes 5/30/24 - Not Gonna Lie, This Quick-Notes is pretty Bare Bones
| Yeah, I’m not going to lie, there were some hard choices finding players of the game today, and not in the good way. But hidden in it all is a Double-A debut that happened in a way you wouldn’t have expected. AAA: Sacramento 4, Tacoma 2 Link https://preview.redd.it/brwz2frmqp3d1.jpg?width=2442&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3e85ec09d1b78e8cb3af06bc2a673919f4a62ce1 Player of the Game: 2B Brett Auerbach: 1-3, 1 R, 1 3B (2), 1 K We’ll go with Auerbach for this win, as he had the team’s only extra-base hit with his second triple in Triple-A, third overall this year. Auerbach’s been quietly successful in Sacramento, hitting .310/.383/.548 with three doubles, two triples, and a home run in 13 games so far. Other Players to Spotlight: - DH Donny Sands: 2-4, 1 RBI, 2 K - After going 0-for-14 in his first three games this year, he’s 6-for-17 (.353).

- RP Reggie Crawford: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K - Crawford has just a 1.35 ERA after five appearances, but has given up seven walks and a HBP in 6.2 innings to nine strikeouts.

2024.05.30 18:59 BruteSentiment Daily Minors Quick-Notes 4/29/24 - Another Injury Scare for Eldridge
Bryce Eldridge was lifted from his game in San Jose, an inning after being hit by a pitch. Though he showed no signs of injury, the concern is real after he left one game early this season with no clear reason and was out for a couple of weeks. Elsewhere, the pitching machine known as Donovan Walton continues his run! (It was a really slow performance day.)
AAA: Tacoma 9, Sacramento 2
Link Player of the Game: 3B David Villar: 1-2, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 HBP Going with Villar in this game, though it was rough for Sacramento. Villar got on base three times, but his hit extended him to an 8-game hitting streak, with four home runs and one double.
Other Players to Spotlight: - 2B Blake Sabol: 1-4, 1 2B (4), 2 K - Sabol picked up his fourth Triple-A double, and fifth in the minors overall. He’s hitting .229 in 23 games at Sacramento.
- RP Clay Helvey: 3.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K - After the Cats gave up eight runs in the first two innings, Helvey settled things down. In 27.0 innings at Sacramento, he has 35 strikeouts to nine walks.
- 2B-RP Donovan Walton - 1-4, 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K - In his 5th game pitching, Walton’s run continues, having given up no earned runs (one unearned).
Top Prospect Lines: - SS Casey Schmitt: 0-4
- LF Ismael Munguia: 0-0 - Munguia was a defensive replacement for Slater late in the game.
Other Notable Lines: - DH Austin Slater: 0-4 - This was Slater’s second rehab game, he was 0-for-2 with a walk in his first.
AA: Erie 8, Richmond 3
Link Player of the Game: SS Will Wilson: 3-5, 1 R, 2 K Will Wilson led the team with three hits, all singles. It’s his second 3-hit game in the last four games, in which he’s 8-for-17 (.471), bumping up his batting average from .205 to .237.
Other Players to Spotlight: - DH Vaun Brown: 1-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 HR (3) - While Brown is just 3-for-14 over his last four starts, he has two home runs in that span.
- 3B Luis Toribio: 1-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 HR (3), 1 K - Toribio hit his first home run since May 5th, giving him three on the season over 30 games played. He had 17 in 2023, over 102 games.
- SP John Michael Bertrand: 3.0 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 1 HR - A rough game in Bertrand’s first start since winning Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the second time. His ERA jumped from 2.25 to 3.00
Top Prospect Lines: - C Adrián Sugastey: 2-4, 1 K
- CF Grant McCray: 0-3, 1 BB, 2 K, 1 HBP
Other Notable Lines: - RP Eric Silva: 2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K
- LF Allan Cerda: 1-3, 1 BB, 1 K - This was Cerda’s first game in the Giants organization after the Reds released him.He was hitting .181 in Double-A Chattanooga over 23 games.
High-A: Hillsboro 3, Eugene 2
Link Player of the Game: C Zach Morgan: 2-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 2B (7), 1 HR (2), 1 K In his last two games, Morgan has two doubles and one home run while going 5-for-8 (.625). The rest of the month, Morgan had gone 6-for-42 (.143) with only one double.
Other Players to Spotlight: - CF Turner Hill: 1-5, 1 2B (7), 1 RBI - Hill picked up his fourth double of the season, to go with two triples and three home runs over 27 games this season.
- SP Hayden Wynja: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 8 K, 1 HR, 3 WP - Wynja has 43 strikeouts to 16 walks in 42.1 innings this season.
- DH Andrew Kachel: 2-4, 1 K, 1 CS (2) - Kachel broke a 3-game hitless streak with his 2-hit game. He’s hitting .250 on the year.
Top Prospect Lines: - SP Diego Velasquez: 1-4, 1 SB (12)
Other Notable Lines: - 3B Thomas Gavello: 1-2, 1 BB, 1 HBP
Low-A: San Jose 6, Fresno 5
Link Player of the Game: 3B Charlie Szykowny: 1-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 2B (5), 1 K, 2 E (5), 1 HBP Szykowny gets the award since he had the team’s only extra-base hit with a double. Szykowny’s quietly been one of the team’s best hitters since his late start, with a .309 batting average and a .400 OBP, and five double and three triples in 19 games, but still no home runs.
Other Players to Spotlight: - 1B Bryce Eldridge: 1-3, 2 R, 2 K, 1 HBP - Eldridge was hit by the first pitch of the 7th inning, it’s unclear where but my best guess was his left forearm. He went straight to first without any signs of pain or the trainer coming out, and played the top of the 8th on defense, but was pinch-hit for in the bottom of the 8th inning.
- SS Justin Bench: 1-2, 1 BB, 1 HBP - Bench has 12-game hitting streak going across three levels, including all seven games he’s played in. He’s hitting .310 for the Giants.
Top Prospect Lines: - LF Wade Meckler: 1-5, 1 RBI, 1 K - This was Meckler’s second rehab game at San Jose, and he’s 1-for-8 so far at the level.
Other Notable Lines: - CF Jonah Cox: 1-4, 1 R, 2 K
- SP Josh Bostick: 4.1 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 1 HR, 1 HBP
ACL: ACL D-backs 4, ACL Giants 2 Link Player of the Game: 3B-2B Jose Ramos: 2-4, 1 R, 1 3B (1), 1 K Ramos now has one double, one triple, and one home run over 16 games in the ACL, hitting .260 on the season.
Other Notable Lines: - 2B Ryan Reckley: 1-1 - Replaced in the top of the 4th inning. u/mikeysaid attended the game and did not see a reason for the removal (nor did the scorer). Reckley has had significant injury issues in the past.
- 3B Derwin Laya: 2-3, 1 RBI, 1 E (2)
- C Juan Perez: 1-2, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 PB (3)

Tu as 65 ans Nadine, grandis un peu.
Ça me dépasse.
