2024.06.01 15:19 Few-Impress2487 My GMAT FE journey from 475 in official mock 1 to 665 in first attempt

Hi all I recently completed giving my GMAT FE first attempt and scored 665 (V81,Q86 , DI 82) When I had given my first mock I had scored a 475 and was quite disappointed , especially with my Quant score but then decided to power through it and realised I probably needed some mentoring / coaching / test preparation course
I realised while I wanted to be done with the exam quickly, I also had to invest a certain amount of time in order to make right decisions for myself and to address the gaps. I’m outlining my entire journey here and I hope it can help someone else in their prep as well.
Firstly I took a couple of trials of different courses available to see what fits best for me and I actually found the second company that I tried checked all the boxes I was looking for. They had a self paced course , a good question bank and plenty of mocks to practice and I really found their content very helpful and detailed.
For verbal , I realised through both the course and practice that, what was integral for me was to be able to visualise the argument in case of CR and the passage in case of RC. When I started immersing myself in the scenario and imagining what would happen, it became easier to understand what was the assumption or what could explain a paradox or strengthen a scenario. This is especially important for Hard / Medium- Hard questions because it feels like the answer choices are very close and a lot of times we are able to narrow down to last two answer choices but still not get the correct one. In the beginning i wasn’t too concerned with the time , I was more worried about understanding the logic and getting my answer correct and sometimes it took me lot longer to solve the question but ultimately i think that’s what helped me get the accuracy as well. Once I was comfortable with the visualisation, it became second nature and naturally the speed also improved .
Coming to quant, I am from a tech background so it wasn’t the concepts that were a challenge or even the actual problem solving. Common faltering point for me was missing to read what the GMAT question language was actually asking. I would miss on Must be True / Could be True , if there was a hidden constraint saying the given number is a positive integer and I would take 0 also in the solution… common things like that and once I started paying attention to the question language and not be in a rush to solve , it greatly made a difference in accuracy. Maintaining an error log helped me greatly here.
Lastly Data Insights , this was the most dreaded section for me but I think once I was done mastering verbal and quant , DI is actually pretty easy , because the level of difficulty for the math part is much easier and same goes for non math question also. I would say that the calculator is tempting and initially I was using it very often to solve but this was leading to me spending 7-8 minutes on a question sometimes. I realised that the GMAT isn’t testing calculations so I need to be vary of using calculator , instead most questions test your inference skill , so I tried to formulate an approach and infer what I could from the data given. This helped me solve the question correctly in the prescribed amount of time. Paying attention to the data and the question stem and drawing inferences from data helps a lot before just jumping into solving.
I attempted 3 mocks in the 10 days before giving my final exam and my scores were as follows Mock 1 : 615 ( prep company ) Mock 2: 565 ( prep company ) Mock 3: 605 ( official mock 2)
With the mock scores it did not seem very likely that I would be able to get 90 percentile but here are my three biggest learning’s which I think is crucial for anyone going to give the exam and wants to see an improvement from mock scores
  1. Make an error log and use that to see patterns. I was extremely detailed while making my error log and I used that to derive a check list of things where i commonly falter and which I should revise day before the exam
  2. There is no point in revising till the last moment or doing questions till the last day. It is more important that you are able to get rest and go with a calm peaceful mind so you can process information while giving exam. A lot of people giving the exam are out of the student phase and it has been years since you sat and gave an exam for 3 hours , so go with a well rested mind and body.
  3. Work on building mental resilience and strategy to attempt the paper through your mocks. Start with strongest section first so you feel comfortable while giving the paper. Take it one question at a time , one section at a time. I had started with verbal but I was unable to complete it due to nerves, and normally that would send me into panic and jitters but I learnt through my mocks to stay focused and calm and just put all my attention to next section , this helped me finish both DI and Quant with a couple of extra minutes to spare.
My entire journey took me around 5 months and it was filled with ups and downs. With a full work schedule and household responsibilities to manage , it does feel overwhelming at times. Especially when your mock scores doesn’t improve , it is very easy to get discouraged but I kept reminding myself why I was doing it. The day of the exam , I just went with the mindset that this score will tell me where all I need to put more effort in and I wasn’t focused on getting a score , rather my focus was on solving the question to the best of my ability. I think this change in my mentality also contributed to my score and I would recommend the same to anyone who is attempting the exam.
To anyone who read till the end of the, thanks a lot and I hope you were able to gain some helpful insight.
Good luck to anyone who’s giving the paper. I know it’s hard , but you can do it 😊

2024.06.01 14:44 Greedy_Boysenberry16 To move or not to move? Advice needed.

Hi All,
I have been given an opportunity of a potential payout to leave my existing job (which would be sufificient to support me if i didn't find a job for 2+ years).
On paper i am fairly qualified - being a qualified accountant (10+ years) with a masters degree and an MBA.
However, from an experience perspective it's basically one company (large ftse 100 company - in which i have been there for 15 years) that i have worked from a junior member to a senior leader. I slightly worry that i am missing essentialy experience from workign at a range of companies. However, when i review all senior FP&A job specs online i appear to be doing pritty much all of what is quoted (missing some ERP system stuff).
I like my job, i like the company, but there is relatively new leadership which comes with risk. Though have often thought i am limiting myself too much to one single industry (which is relative niche).
What would you do if you were in my shoes?

2024.06.01 14:42 investoroma Looking for advice: manipulative collaborator

(Sorry about the intentional vagueness, just trying to get advice while not throwing anyone under the bus)
I work on a research project at a major agency and started working as part of a collaboration with someone at a different office location in another state under the same agency last year. They already had a collaboration going on concerning non-mission critical work and approached me about joining because I had done work in this field in the past. They are known for being kind of being a jerk but I said yes because their other collaborators are well-respected and it seemed like a good opportunity to stay working in the field.
However, due to time constraints on what my management considers more critical work (and it is, it aligns more with some policy-related things) I'm finding it hard to continue collaborating on this other work. On top of this, the contractor who was doing most of the lab work for me is moving on so it would be up to me to do the lab work myself, which I do not have time to do. Realistically, I could do it, but it would put such a strain on me that my work would be extremely stressful for the next year and possibly impact the quality of my other more important work.
Normally I would send an email saying "Sorry, unfortunately due to other time constraints I cannot work on this any longer." but this collaborator has built up in his head that I "promised" him additional data and has built this fantasy of these additional analyses that he believes I owe him. He likes to assume a lot of things. In our last meeting, because my lab didn't have a certain dataset for a meeting he had setup he said he was "disappointed", which really made me personally mad. I don't feel like he has the right to be disappointed when I have been clear about the time pressure I am under.
There hasn't been any sort of written documentation outlining this work (like an MOU or etc.) and he doesn't pay for me to do any of this work so there's really nothing on paper binding me to this. He only provided some lab supplies, which amount to around $500, which I can ship back at any time. I've really just kept in this collaboration as a chance to get on additional publications (which I don't really need but it does help for future promotion packages) and probably a personal feeling of not wanting to fail people.
On top of all this, I've noticed that he speaks very disrespectfully to his other collaborators and comes off as very manipulative. I get a bad feeling that collaborating with this person further will be bad for my career. I would really like to stop working with him but am struggling with a graceful way to do this. I'm thinking about saying that I'm leaving the project at the end of the summer to give him some time to find someone else to continue this work.
Reading the above back to myself , I think I know what the answer is but I would really like additional advice and support on help resolving this.

We will explore the different types of charts, time frames, and how to use them effectively on TradingView.com. By the end of this chapter, you will have a solid understanding of how to use charts and time frames to analyze and trade the markets.

What are Charts and Time Frames?

Charts and time frames are the foundation of technical analysis. A chart is a graphical representation of a security's price action over a specific period. Time frames, on the other hand, refer to the duration of the data displayed on the chart. In other words, time frames determine how much data is displayed on the chart and how often the data is updated.

Types of Charts

There are several types of charts, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. The most common types of charts are:
1. Line Chart: A line chart connects the closing prices of a security over a specific period, creating a continuous line. This chart is useful for identifying trends and patterns.
2. Candlestick Chart: A candlestick chart displays the high, low, open, and close prices of a security over a specific period. Each candle represents a specific time period, and the color of the candle indicates whether the price closed higher or lower than the previous day's close.
3. Bar Chart: A bar chart is similar to a candlestick chart but does not display the open and close prices. Instead, it shows the high and low prices, as well as the open and close prices.
4. Renko Chart: A Renko chart is a type of chart that uses a unique algorithm to create a chart that is not based on time. Instead, it uses price movements to create a chart that is more focused on the price action.

Time Frames

Time frames determine the duration of the data displayed on the chart. Common time frames include:
1. 1-minute: A 1-minute chart displays the price action over a 1-minute period.
2. 5-minute: A 5-minute chart displays the price action over a 5-minute period.
3. 15-minute A 15-minute chart displays the price action over a 15-minute period.
4. 30-minute: A 30-minute chart displays the price action over a 30-minute period.
5. 1-hour: A 1-hour chart displays the price action over a 1-hour period.
6. 4-hour: A 4-hour chart displays the price action over a 4-hour period.
7. Daily: A daily chart displays the price action over a 1-day period.
8. Weekly: A weekly chart displays the price action over a 1-week period.
9. Monthly: A monthly chart displays the price action over a 1-month period.

In this chapter, we'll explore the process of backtesting and evaluating trading ideas using TradingView.com, a popular platform for charting and backtesting trading strategies.

What is Backtesting?

1. Identify potential flaws in your strategy
2. Optimize your strategy for better performance
3. Refine your strategy to improve its accuracy
4. Evaluate the strategy's risk-reward ratio

Why Backtest?

Backtesting is crucial for several reasons:
1. Risk management: Backtesting helps you identify potential risks associated with your trading strategy.
2. Strategy optimization: Backtesting allows you to refine your strategy to improve its performance.
3. Performance evaluation: Backtesting enables you to evaluate the performance of your strategy and make data-driven decisions.
4. Confidence booster: Backtesting gives you confidence in your strategy, reducing the risk of emotional trading decisions.

4. Set the parameters: Configure the strategy's parameters, such as the number of bars to look back, the number of trades to take, and the stop-loss levels.
5. Run the backtest: Click the "Run" button to start the backtest. TradingView.com will apply your strategy to the selected data range and provide performance metrics.
6. Analyze the results: Review the backtest results, including the strategy's profit/loss, drawdown, and other performance metrics.

Evaluating Trading Ideas

Evaluating your trading idea is a crucial step in the backtesting process. Here are some key metrics to consider:
1. Profit/Loss: Calculate the total profit or loss generated by your strategy.
2. Drawdown: Measure the maximum loss experienced by your strategy.
3. Sharpe Ratio: Calculate the Sharpe Ratio to evaluate the strategy's risk-adjusted performance.
4. Sortino Ratio: Use the Sortino Ratio to evaluate the strategy's risk-adjusted performance, focusing on the maximum drawdown.
5. Information Coefficient: Calculate the Information Coefficient to evaluate the strategy's ability to generate profits.

Best Practices for Backtesting

To get the most out of backtesting, follow these best practices:
1. Use a robust data set: Ensure your data is accurate and free from errors.
2. Test multiple scenarios: Test your strategy on different time frames, assets, and market conditions.
3. Monitor performance metrics: Keep track of your strategy's performance metrics and adjust as needed.
4. Refine your strategy: Continuously refine your strategy to improve its performance.
5. Avoid overfitting: Be cautious of overfitting, where your strategy performs well on the training data but poorly on new data.

Conclusion

Backtesting and evaluating trading ideas is a crucial step in the trading process. By using TradingView.com and following best practices, you can refine your trading strategy, optimize its performance, and increase your chances of success. Remember to evaluate your strategy's performance using relevant metrics and refine it continuously to improve its performance. Setting up an LLC in California TRUIC
Setting up an LLC in California TRUIC
Registering a business isn’t very complicated, but entrepreneurs should be mindful of making sure they follow the proper steps to make the process as smooth and efficient as possible. Setting up an LLC in California can be a great way to protect your personal assets while giving your business a professional structure. In this detailed guide, we will explore everything you need to know about forming an LLC in California, including the costs, steps, and benefits, as well as how TRUIC can help streamline the process.

What Steps Do I Need to Take Before Registering My LLC?

Before diving into the LLC California application process, it’s critical to have a strong and viable business plan. California offers a wealth of resources to help entrepreneurs, including Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) which can assist you in creating a business plan.

Creating a Business Plan

A well-thought-out business plan will outline your business goals, market research, organizational structure, and financial projections. This is a crucial step in ensuring your business is ready for success.

Choosing a Business Name

Your business name must be unique and distinguishable from other registered entities in California. You can check the availability of your desired name on the LLC California Secretary of State website.

Selecting a Registered Agent

A registered agent is required for all LLCs in California. This individual or business entity will receive legal documents on behalf of your LLC. You can appoint yourself, another member of your LLC, or hire a professional registered agent service.

Filing the LLC California Application

Once you have your business plan, name, and registered agent, it’s time to file the LLC California application. Here are the steps:

1. File the Articles of Organization

To officially form your LLC in California, you need to file Articles of Organization (Form LLC-1) with the California Secretary of State. This document includes essential information about your LLC, such as its name, registered agent, and management structure.

2. Pay the Filing Fee

The LLC in California cost includes a $70 fee for filing the Articles of Organization. Additionally, there is an annual franchise tax of $800, which must be paid regardless of your LLC’s income.

3. Create an Operating Agreement

While not required by the state, an Operating Agreement is highly recommended. This document outlines the ownership and operating procedures of your LLC, helping to prevent conflicts among members.

4. Obtain an EIN

An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is necessary for tax purposes and opening a business bank account. You can obtain an EIN for free from the IRS website.

5. File the Initial Statement of Information

Within 90 days of filing your Articles of Organization, you must file an Initial Statement of Information (Form LLC-12) with the California Secretary of State. The filing fee is $20.

While there is no truly Free LLC in California due to state filing fees, you can minimize costs by handling the process yourself online and utilizing free resources. TRUIC offers a wealth of information and tools to help you navigate the formation process efficiently.

Benefits of LLC in California

There are several key benefits to forming an LLC in California:

Limited Liability Protection

An LLC provides personal liability protection, meaning your personal assets are protected from business debts and liabilities.

LLCs benefit from pass-through taxation, where profits are taxed only once as part of the owners’ personal income, avoiding the double taxation faced by corporations.

Management Flexibility

LLCs offer flexibility in management and ownership structures, making it easier to operate and grow your business.

Professional Image

Operating as an LLC can enhance your business’s credibility and professionalism, attracting more customers and investors.

Cheapest Way to Form an LLC in California

2024.06.01 11:35 Visual_Ability_1229 lord Venkateswara Part 2- detailed description contd.

this is a continuation from my earlier post .
my objective is to make accessible information in the greater public domain. much of what I am saying is available in public, but obscure or not present in one single place.
Main Idol overview -
the MOOLAVIRAT or DHRUVA beram, the subject of all legends and debates.
the level of detail is really extraordinary. fingernails, toenails, striations in the skin folds, and attention to detail to every ornament is seen.
all ornaments in front view continue on the back side. full 360 degrees. mostly on the back, are the strings and knots of the ornaments , all integrally in the idol. the hair locks, also have very tiny crevices, looking like real hair, especially in dim lighting.
there is another unique problem that all of this creates - it sounds silly but only people who are worshipping idols in temples would know.
normally, during ritual baths, CUrd ( or yoghurt ) is a key ingredient.
what most people don;t know, is that curd is very very hard to clean up afterwards .
it gets stuck in tiny crevices, and eventually the room starts to smell really bad.
in tirumala, the practice is to NOT use curd, and just stick to milk and various versions of water.
the real reason for that is the exquisite features of the idol. no amount of cleaning is enough to fully bring out all the curd. so a long time back, decisions were taken to stop using it. (again lot of debates on it and lot of controversies jumped out of it)
Curd Iis used now , for all the other smaller idols, where it is easier to clean up later.
Main Idol - dimensions
there are confusing reports about his height ranging from 6 feet to 12 feet. all are false. numbers change based on how he is measured.
he is 8 feet tall, if measured from foot to top of crown. the crown is 20 inches approx. (based on size of the gold crowns made for him..all of them 22 inches to accommodate padding)
the lotus base (Padma -peeta ) is estimated to be 18 inches.
but an idol is always measured with base included. this brings the total to 9 ½ feet , as the pedestal is always counted. but in reality , when we go to the temple today, we are standing standing above the height of his feet, so we would see 8 feet of his majesty .
these are all estimates and could be wrong by a couple of inches.
also, the dimensions of the sanctum sanctorum are 12feet 9 inches x 12 feet 9 inches. square. this is available in public domain. nothin secret about it.
in the Agama, among the GarbhaGrihas, this is the largest sanctioned dimension, only possible for a very tall mula virat.
*(we need to again remember- this extraordinary idol, was exposed to the sun and moon for centuries, surrounded by elephants and lotus ponds and venomous snakes , before a human being even came into the picture. its really hard to imagine him just standing there in the forest with a smile on his face , for a thousand years, before a temple was made out of wood ( yes literally wooden temple - more on that later)
his waist is estimated to be around 24-27 inches (depending upon exactly where you measure it)
his chest is 42 inches ( some serious bodybuilding goals for men - forget the old-NTR like chubby looks)
his arms circumference for the armlets is estimated to be 19 inches.
overall, the appearance of a youthful strong tall man.
now each body part -
feet - the feet are spaced apart at shoulder width. they are extremely well-formed, having even toenails. there are toe-rings on his toes, and then there are 2 varieties of anklets on him. 1 looks more like a feminine Dancer kind of anklet ( I dont know the right word for it) . the second one is more masculine and like a thick strong ring around the ankle.
the lower body cloth (peetambaram or dhoti) outline can be clearly made in the idol, resting near the anklets. its folded into 7 layers as we move upwards to his waist. on the backside, it continues and is neatly tucked into the small of his back. there is one very interesting observation here..... the knot and tucked in-dhoti on the back looks like the hood of a cobra. senior priests say it is symbolic of kundalini.
note: no actual cobra figure appear on the idol. I am only talking about the lower garment folded in such a way. this I have actually seen on other vishnu idols in iconography books on agama. I'll share a pic here of similar feature if I can.
normally, there is no gap in a stone idol , between the feet . rock is there to preserve the stability of the idol. but here there is a hollow, and a garment can be passed under to dress him.
there is also a decorative Vastram draped on this sides, beautifully knotted on both hips. its pleats gently fall down on either side.
as we move up, his two lower limbs are strong and bulky. the calves are particularly bulky, very strong from the backside.
strong massive thighs can be made out from all sides. the kneecaps are very prominently visible.
his posture is almost straight.... with a small tilt to the right side (his right side) . as such the right knee is slightly bent. overall, he stoops very slightly fowards, as if just about to step out of the pedestal. this is hard to observe after all the heavy ornaments and garlands.
I will talk about the more technical description of his posture by using sanskrit AGAMA terminology in future posts. this was intended for people who are not familiar with highly technical jargon.

2024.06.01 11:12 AZPoggers420 Extra paper in Edexcel IGCSE English Literature P1

To summarise, I was attempting the poetry question (section B) about the theme of being alone in HPT and one other poem. I had set myself around 50-55 minutes for this question bcz I wanted to maximise my marks on it since i was pretty confident with the pairing. So basically I finished all the 6 pages we were given in approx. 50 mins and that was when I asked an invigilator for extra paper.
However, they told me that they weren't supplied with any extra paper and therefore I couldn't write any more This went against everything that my teachers, friends, and school told me so I immediately asked them to call the lead examiner. I wasn't too surprised because a similar incident had happened in my bio exam a few days earlier (but that didn't end up too bad bcz I only had a few extra lines to write).
Once the exam supervisor arrived, he said the same thing and told me Edexcel hadn't provided them with any extra sheets. I was getting quite nervous and frustrated and after numerous appeals, the head examiner told me to write my remaining response on the last page for section C (which was Of Mice and Men for me).
I tried to appeal and tell him that this would confuse the examiner and my response would be messed up but he wouldn't listen and considering that I had already wasted a few precious minutes during this conversation, I decided to listen to him.
So then i wrote an additional paragraph and a short conclusion on the last two pages given to use for Section C. I had labelled it as a continuation of the poetry question and had also written: GO TO THE LAST PAGE FOR CONTINUATION on the bottom of the last page for poetry. However, it was quite small and very cramped and messy so i'm worried the examiner might miss it and won't mark it.
the reason im scared is bcz my summary was rly good and it basically links everything which I analysed so without it I may not get a good mark. Also, the last two pages were kinda muddled up so my 5th paragraph was on the last page and my conclusion was on the second last page.
After the exam, I told this to my mother (who is an invigilator herself) and she met the head examiner herself and raised the issue with him. He confirmed that there would be no issues during marking. Surprisingly, another invigilator told us that they had extra paper all along and that there must have been a big misunderstanding (which I don't believe, i think it was a case of blatant laziness and ignorance).
Regardless, my parents raised this issue with senior members of the british council in my city (as i'm a private candidate) and they promised to get this issue fixed. However, I'm still worried about if the examienr would discredit those 1 and 1/2 pages which I wrote and if he was able to read my continuation message at the bottom of the page.
this whole issue has rly bummed me out because overall I found the exam easy and I was able to answer all the questions pretty well. so if any of you guys have any prior experiences with such circumstances or have any advice, please share it with me. Thanks.
TL;DR: examiner didn't give me extra paper and gave me incorrect instructions abt writing my response on the wrong section.

Step 1: Start by sketching the outline of the letter S lightly on your paper. Pay attention to the curves and angles to ensure a well-proportioned shape.
Step 2: Add depth to your letter S by drawing parallel lines along the edges. These lines will serve as guidelines for creating the 3D effect.
Step 3: Begin shading the areas of the letter S that would appear darker or receded in a three-dimensional space. Use hatching and cross-hatching techniques to build up the shadows gradually.
Step 4: Continue adding layers of shading to enhance the depth and dimensional of your letter S. Blend the tones smoothly for a seamless transition between light and shadow.
Step 5: Add highlights to the areas of the letter S that would catch the light, such as the top and outer edges. This will further enhance the illusion of depth and realism.

Loyalty Points

You earn Crystal Palace loyalty points every time you spend money at the club, whether it be on memberships, tickets, or in the online store. Tickets for home and away matches are usually sold in phases, starting with season ticket holders who have a certain number of loyalty points. After a day or two, the remaining tickets are made available to season ticket holders with a lower number of loyalty points. And so it goes until all tickets are sold.
It's therefore suggested that you build up your loyalty points if you want a match day ticket.

Other Ticket Options

If you're unable to get a match ticket via the method outlined above, you can scour the CPFC message boards to see if anyone has a spare ticket available. One of the better places to find a ticket is in the Ticket & Travel Talk forum on Holmesdale.net. Tickets advertised in the forum are only to be sold at face value so you shouldn't get scammed. However, you should use the site at your own risk and also be aware that sellers usually want to any potential buyers to have an active history on the site itself.

How to contact the Box Office

  • You can contact the CPFC Box office through their email at: boxoffice@cpfc.co.uk. Be aware, their response times have been known to mirror Crystal Palaces performance. Inconsistent.

2024.06.01 08:33 ItsGotThatBang Is Ron Paul responsible for the rise of Trumpism in general & Vivek Ramaswamy in particular?

Ron Paul Redux: The Texan Congressman Has an Unlikely Intellectual Heir: Vivek Ramaswamy is running on Paul’s regressive libertarian populism
Remember that moment in the Republican presidential debate when one brash guy voiced some unorthodox positions, and the other candidates hastened to express their vigorous disagreement? Probably not. I mean, the debate took place in 2011, and that controversial Republican, Ron Paul, has largely faded from memory.
When he ran for the GOP nomination in 2008 and 2012, Paul came across as a rumpled gadfly voicing unvarnished opinions that put him on the fringes of the party. But today, at 88, he can look with pride on an ideological heir who is young, handsome and slick– and happens to be in perfect harmony with the modern Republican Party: No, not Rand Paul, Ron’s son, the three-term Republican Senator from Kentucky. It is the practicing Hindu and son of Indian immigrants: Vivek Ramaswamy.
Ramaswamy doesn’t look or act like the avuncular Texas obstetrician. Educated at Harvard and Yale, with a glib confidence and a physique suited to playing tennis shirtless, Ramaswamy could hardly be more different. But that’s on the surface. Put him and Paul together in a room and they would find plenty to agree on. Not only do both self-identify as libertarians, they represent the same flavor of populist paleolibertarianism. The main difference is that Paul was starkly at odds with the prevailing ideology of the GOP back then. Ramaswamy, on the other hand, is fluent in the language of today’s very different GOP.
Comrades In Arms
Paul railed against the federal government and particularly the central bankers at the Federal Reserve. He abhorred multilateral institutions, affirmative action, foreign aid, welfare, and environmental protection. He denounced NAFTA as a step toward a North American Union. He vowed to cut federal spending by $1 trillion in his first year and abolish five cabinet departments. His newsletter described Martin Luther King Jr. as “the man who replaced the evil of forced segregation with the evil of forced integration.” Paul later claimed that he didn’t write or approve such statements in the publication that bore his name. But his followers ate them up.
You can hear distinct echoes of much of this in Ramaswamy.
The 38-year-old pharmaceutical tycoon says he would eliminate the Department of Education, the IRS, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the FBI, part of his unlikely plan to get rid of 75% of the federal workforce. He has said he would cut off aid to Ukraine and, in time, to Israel too – though he later reversed himself on the latter. Like Paul, he claims the “climate change agenda is a hoax.”
When a white gunman killed three Black people in Jacksonville, Florida, Ramaswamy, who likewise opposes affirmative action, put the blame not so much on the perpetrator but on racial preferences for creating “a new wave of anti-Black and anti-Hispanic racism in this country.” He suggested his running mate might be Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is notorious for his anti-vaccine disinformation, popular in certain libertarian circles.
Ramaswamy has raised the possibility that government instigators were involved in the Jan. 6 insurrection. But you know who beat him to that? Ron Paul. (There is no evidence of that.)
Carrying Water for Trump
Ramaswamy says, “I don't think Donald Trump was the cause of Jan. 6,” ignoring a Himalayan pile of evidence confirming that he was thoroughly complicit in the Capitol insurrection. Without knowing the evidence that will emerge during Trump’s criminal trials—which Ramaswamy smears as “politicized prosecution”—he promises to grant the former president a full pardon. Oh, and he describes Trump as “the best president of the 21st century,” despite his unprecedented effort to overturn a free and fair democratic election.
Paul, meanwhile, has said little—if anything—about Trump’s role in inciting the Capitol mob. He has, however, slammed the Jan. 6 Congressional hearings as “insurrection theater” perpetrated by “desperate Democrats.”
On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Ramaswamy outlined the following bizarre scenario if he were certifying the last election instead of Mike Pence: “Here’s what I would have said: ‘We need single-day voting on Election Day, we need paper ballots, and we need government-issued ID matching the voter file.’. . . In my capacity as president of the Senate, I would have led through that level of reform, then on that condition certified the election results, served it up to the president — President Trump — then to sign that into law. And on January 7th, declared the re-election campaign pursuant to a free and fair election.”
And then he would have ridden away on his purple unicorn. Ramaswamy’s alternative was not only idiotic but impossible, a tribute to either ignorance of the Constitution and the legislative process or breathtaking dishonesty. Paul had a reputation for being a kook given his many offbeat crusades. But Ramaswamy seems determined to outdo him.
On immigration too, Ramaswamy and Paul are remarkably aligned with each other and at odds with policy libertarians, who paleolibertarians deride as establishment elites. Paul was against a border wall—at least he said he was—whereas Ramaswamy, borrowing from Trump, has pledged to “close the southern border.” But Paul talked incessantly about eliminating the incentives for “illegal immigration,” to wit, easy welfare and easy birthright citizenship for the children of undocumented. In the same vein, Ramaswamy has pledged to push a constitutional amendment ending birthright citizenship if elected.
Ramaswamy: No Anti-War Warrior
But that’s not the only thing in the constitution Ramaswamy wants to amend. He’d also raise the voting age to 25, which would disenfranchise 31 million people—more than the population of Texas. That’s one way to address the Republican Party’s low esteem among 18-to-24 voters, 65% of whom voted for Joe Biden in 2020, though he may not have considered the electoral vengeance they would exact as soon as they turn 25.
Ramaswamy’s measure combines the anti-democratic with the coercive. Young adults could gain voting rights by passing a civics quiz or by spending six months in the military or “first responder service”—his goal being to “revive civic duty among Americans.” He has also advocated compulsory universal service for high school students on summer breaks in his book, Woke Inc.
Much of this, along with Ramaswamy’s embrace of the Monroe Doctrine as a warning to foreign powers such as China that “America comes First and that our hemisphere is not to be encroached by our adversaries,” would not thrill the Paulistas whose version of America Firstism consists of not spilling American blood for foreigners. Nor would they likely go along with Ramaswamy’s proposal to use military force to “annihilate the Mexican drug cartels” or his suggestion to make a firm commitment to defend Taiwan against a Chinese attack.
But paleolibertarian Paul fans would be four squares behind Ramaswamy on ceding Ukraine to Putin – the only Republican on the debate stage in favor of doing so.
Mainstreaming the Fringe
They would also be open to Ramaswamy’s conspiratorial turn of mind. Paul has tried to distance himself from the kooky theories peddled under his name in his newsletter—like when in the grimmest days of the AIDS epidemic, it accused gays of plotting to “poison the blood supply”—but Paul himself is on the record claiming that the U.S. government knew about 9/11 in advance but kept it a secret. In a similar vein, Ramaswamy also hinted at federal involvement in the attack but recanted later.
When Paul ran for the GOP nomination, his views were effectively disqualifying. In 2012, his best showing, he finished third in the Iowa caucuses and second in the New Hampshire primaries. He eventually ended up with 8% of the convention delegates, putting him fourth in the overall race. But like Pat Buchanan before him, he was never halfway plausible as the Republican presidential nominee. His role was provocateur, taking bold positions that let his rivals unite in denouncing him as dangerous and irresponsible.
Ramaswamy likewise found his opponents ganging up on him in the first Republican debate, with Nikki Haley, Chris Christie and Mike Pence doing their best to read him out of the race. But his views, despite their similarity to Paul’s, can no longer be derided as conservative heresy. In fact, his rivals seemed to be the ones defensive with GOP voters, which is no surprise given Trump retains the allegiance of 59% of them, according to a post-debate poll.
Ramaswamy isn’t likely to win the nomination. But if he loses, it won’t be because his views are too extreme for the party faithful who remain under the spell of Trump’s toxic populism. That’s why Ramaswamy has shrewdly declared, “I’m in this race to take the America First agenda far further than Donald Trump ever did.”
To that end, Ramaswamy has put out a 10-point statement of his convictions which include “God is real,” “there are two genders,” “reverse racism is racism,” and “an open border is no border,” all intended to signal his vehement opposition to the left.
Paul was against the cultural left too but he didn’t make that the center-point of his campaign because the GOP then wasn’t fighting the culture war 24/7. But post-Trump, the party is fully consumed by the leftist enemy and so what was implicit in Paul is now explicit in Ramaswamy.
In retrospect, Paul was less an outlier than a forerunner. In his candidacy were the seeds of a new version of a populist libertarian conservatism—rooted in a suspicion of ties with the rest of the world, racial paranoia, rejection of cultural liberalization, hostility toward almost every major national and international institution, a propensity for red-pill fantasies and a distrust of democracy.
What was fringe in Paul’s time is now the dominant strain in the GOP—and Ramaswamy is determined to be its champion.
What are your thoughts? This is obviously a bold claim & I’m not sure I fully agree with it.

2024.06.01 06:27 Luullay I wanna help Hunt and Erudition feel like more intentional classes

So.. I would like to give my thoughts on how to make them feel like more intentional classes-- after all, these two roles feel like they are particularly falling behind (with specific exceptions, admittedly, like with Boothill) within their role as unique classes/identities; especially when compared to Destruction units-- who are often easier to play for a myriad of reasons.
Before I talk about my ideas, I'd like to first say:
  1. Yeah, yeah; Hoyo doesn't like making changes. My hope is: instead of asking for reworks to old characters, asking for reworks to overarching systems, which will indirectly buff old characters.
  2. No. My idea isn't just for these roles to "deal more damage".
  3. Everything between asterisks * is me explaining my reasoning; if you just wanna see the ideas with no context, feel free to skip the texts between.
  4. Numbers listed are not gospel. I'm no mathematician.
Hot take: Damage is the most power-creepable thing. You want your favorite character to speedrun obsolescence? Make their entire kit revolve around nothing but mass deeps.
So! What's the real issue behind why Hunt and Erudition feel bad? Let's be blunt: It's Destruction.. (and to a lesser degree Nihility). But why? It's cause it does too much right:
Destruction is characterized by:
  1. Survivability
  2. High damage
  3. AoE
Meanwhile Hunt is characterized by:
  1. Single target
And Erudition by:
  1. AoE
**As we can see, they are all DAMAGE roles, but, the identity of Destruction is more like that of a off-tank that deals more damage than Erudition, and hits more targets than Hunt.. and also often deal more damage.**
**So I spent a lot of time thinking about what Destruction's role/identity should be in the game, and if/how we should pair it down in order to fit the outline of classes as Hoyo has given us.. but.. that got me into a lot of debates with people I know (irl) who are DIEHARD fans of the fantasy Destruction is trying to push.. so I started asking a different question: What should these other classes do differently? Then I thought about bending the fundamental rules of the game in favor of these other classes.**
Let's start with Hunt:
**Hunt's single target nature is an inherent weakness.. but in game-design terms, that means there is powered freed up here to put somewhere else in the class's kit. Most people would rightly assume this means the class just hits a single target.. harder(?) but in Star Rail? Yesn't. Hunt characters hit hard, but they usually aren't THEE top dps for long.. and they don't really DWARF the other roles in terms of single-target dps either. And really? That's okay. As I said above: A damage dealer is only good as long as another character doesn't do more damage-- and powercreep will happen inevitably, so damage should be treated as a given, instead of the metric a unit's primary value comes from; it's how a unit deals damage that matters.**
Give Hunt units these UNIVERSAL benefits:
  1. Basic attacks now deal 200% (220%) of ATK (or applicable stat), and deals very high toughness damage, AND/OR are granted generous bonus effects as a trade-off for Hunt character's inherent single-target nature.
  2. Alacrity: All Hunt units now have a base SPD of 120, and cannot be debuffed below this number by any means. Basic attacks now inherently action advance this unit forward by 10%.
Why? SP generation.
**These changes would carve out a niche, and make Hunt characters a flexible sub-dps pick that constantly take turns to perform a strong basic attack that feeds more SP hungry units, and effectively makes them faster when the generate SP. This gives a new mechanic by which Hoyo can design future units around, effectively increasing the chances that old units get buffed retroactively around new possible synergies.**
Next, Erudition:
Give Erudition units these UNIVERSAL benefits:
  1. Basic attacks are reduced to 50% (60%) of ATK (or applicable stat), but hit all enemies on screen, and deals high toughness damage.
  2. Battery: Erudition units now gain 25 ult energy when they use their basic attack, and all other teammates gain 5 ult energy at the same time. ^For every enemy hit/every successive hit, grant an additional 1 energy to the teammate with the lowest current ult energy (up to a maximum of 5 per attack. ^Ultimates and FuAs count as separate attacks that also generate this energy). ^When an Erudition unit uses their ultimate, all other teammates gain 10 ultimate energy.
Why? (More obvious than the above) Ult energy!
**So how will this impact Destruction units? Feel by virtue of contrast. Destruction will still wear the crown in terms of damage done, and to the largest amount of enemies, but what it will not have is the same feeling in quality of life. In comps with the other classes, basic attacks will feel better, SP will be more plentiful, and ults will be more frequent; Destruction, by contrast, would feel slow, and unforgiving with it's tighter resource budgets, all without having to nerf Destruction. Of course, the changes to these other classes will also affect Destruction if you run them together; and that's the goal of my ideas-- to make all the classes FEEL viable, regardless of if the EXCEPTIONS technically are on paper. It's a game, after all, and games are about fun and feeling.**
M'kay! If you've read this far, thank you so much! I know this was long-winded; I deliberated just posting the ideas with no context, but that shit has gotten me grilled in the past (therefor I'm used to people being mean to me about my ideas, and so I'll probably have a lot of anxiety reading the replies.. and try not to cry a lot :D). I know my thoughts may not change much, but if nothing else.. I got them out there; they are no longer just sitting on my chest-- I can face tomorrow with a clearer mind!

2024.06.01 06:19 Healthy_You_1188 Working on apologizing

I’m trying to get better at apologizing.
Please tell me if you see any ways I could improve here.
First, the context: I’m an editor of the newspaper club, and me, along with the three other leaders are seniors and we haven’t arranged to have a meeting for a couple months. The teacher who runs the club emailed us and said that she’s worried about the future of the club and considering tabling leadership for the rest of the year. She also doesn’t know if any of the younger members would be able to lead the club in the future which is concerning to her. And the poster is to try to recruit incoming students.
My response email:
“The end of the year has really gotten away from me, and I'm sorry that I've let the paper suffer as a result. I don't think it's a fair situation for the younger students involved, and I do want them to get the consistency and support they deserve for their reporting.
I can find time to make up the display on Monday. And in the interest of the club's future, would you still be open to having a final meeting? We might be more likely to lose the people we already have if it seems like the club is fully abandoned.
I also have friends in journalism (seniors), and I could see if anyone wants to be published before the end of the year if that seems like it could be helpful.
There’s a big gap in information in a school without a paper. It’s in the interest of all of us that we don’t let that happen.”

2024.06.01 05:00 dofushelppls Going back for PhD

I graduated from a top school with CS around 4 years ago and went directly into FAANG because money talks and I wanted to pay off my loans, but when I was in undergrad I discovered that my passion is research. I got promoted to a senior position at the beginning of the year and it feels bad to get such a huge jump in comp vesting over x years and then to immediately walk away.
I have no lifestyle creep and I've been saving around 85% of my take-home pay so I'm well situated to go back. I've been spending my evenings and weekends studying for GRE and reading papers in the field that I want to do grad school in, but I can't shake off the feeling that this is a huge mistake.
Someone talk me out of this. Or talk me into it, idk.

I know this question is probably very over-asked and that you have to obviously work part time in the hub as well as have seniority but what’s the actual process of them making you a driver?
Like do you put your name on a paper? Do you ask your supervisor? Do you need to wait a year to do these things? Other requirements?

Introduction to the Importance of Affordable Junk Removal

Accumulating excessive junk can have detrimental effects on living spaces, the environment, and overall well-being. Not only does a cluttered living space impact comfort and functionality, but it can also lead to increased stress and reduced productivity. Furthermore, the environmental implications of junk accumulation cannot be overlooked, as improper disposal methods can contribute to pollution and resource wastage. For example, failing to dispose of electronic waste responsibly can result in harmful chemicals leaching into soil and water sources, posing risks to both human health and the ecosystem. Understanding the significance of affordable junk removal is crucial in promoting cleaner, safer living environments and fostering sustainable waste management practices.
Highlighting the correlation between cost-effective junk removal solutions and improved quality of life for individuals and communities is essential. By opting for affordable junk removal services, individuals can not only declutter their spaces but also enhance their physical and mental well-being. For instance, studies have shown that living in a clean and organized environment can reduce stress levels and increase overall happiness and satisfaction. Additionally, choosing economical junk removal options can contribute to community well-being by promoting cleaner neighborhoods and reducing the environmental impact of waste accumulation. Therefore, prioritizing affordable junk removal is not just about saving money—it's about investing in a healthier and more sustainable future for all.
Mentioning the growing trend of seeking affordable and efficient ways to haul away junk amidst increasing concerns about waste management and sustainability is crucial. With the rise of environmental consciousness and the push for sustainable practices, more individuals are actively seeking cost-effective methods to deal with their junk. This shift in consumer behavior aligns with broader efforts to reduce waste generation, promote recycling, and minimize the carbon footprint associated with junk removal processes. For instance, communities across the country are implementing initiatives to encourage responsible waste disposal and incentivize recycling, reflecting a collective commitment to environmental stewardship. By acknowledging this trend and exploring affordable junk removal options, individuals can actively participate in the larger movement towards a greener and more sustainable society.

Understanding Junk Removal Costs

Explaining how junk removal costs can vary based on factors such as location, service provider, volume of junk, and additional services required is essential for making informed decisions. The cost of junk removal services is influenced by various factors, including the geographical area where the service is provided. For example, urban centers like San Jose, California, may have higher service rates due to higher operational costs and demand for such services. Additionally, the volume and type of junk to be removed play a significant role in determining the overall cost, with larger quantities or specialized items often leading to higher service charges. Moreover, the inclusion of additional services, such as hazardous material disposal or furniture removal, can impact the final cost of the junk removal project.
Providing examples of additional fees that may apply for items like mattresses, electronics, or hazardous materials due to special handling requirements sheds light on the intricacies of junk removal pricing. For instance, items that require specific disposal methods, such as electronics or appliances containing refrigerants, may incur additional fees due to the need for proper recycling or disposal channels. Similarly, mattresses often require special handling to comply with regulations and minimize environmental impact, resulting in extra charges from junk removal companies. By understanding these nuances and potential surcharges, individuals can budget effectively for their junk removal needs and avoid unexpected expenses during the process. Transparency in pricing and detailed estimates are crucial elements in ensuring a smooth and cost-effective junk removal experience.
Discussing the importance of requesting transparent pricing and detailed estimates from junk removal companies to avoid unexpected charges is vital for budget-conscious consumers. Transparent pricing not only fosters trust between service providers and customers but also enables individuals to plan their junk removal projects effectively. By obtaining detailed estimates upfront, customers can assess the breakdown of costs, understand any additional charges, and make informed decisions based on their budget constraints. This transparency also helps in avoiding surprises during the junk removal process and ensures that the final bill aligns with the initial quote provided by the service provider. Therefore, when engaging with junk removal companies, requesting clear pricing information and estimates is a proactive step towards achieving affordable and hassle-free junk disposal.
Affordable Junk Removal Services

Tips for Finding Affordable Junk Removal Services

Emphasizing the value of reading customer reviews and comparing testimonials to gauge the reliability and affordability of different junk removal providers is key to making an informed choice. Customer reviews offer firsthand insights into the quality of service, pricing transparency, and overall satisfaction levels experienced by individuals who have utilized junk removal services. For example, positive reviews highlighting timely service and competitive pricing can indicate a reliable and cost-effective junk removal provider. By delving into customer feedback and testimonials, individuals can assess the reputation and credibility of various companies, enabling them to choose a service provider that best suits their needs and budget.
Suggesting leveraging online platforms and social media to discover exclusive deals, promotions, and discounts offered by junk removal companies can open up cost-saving opportunities for consumers. Online channels provide a wealth of information on special offers, seasonal discounts, and limited-time promotions that may not be advertised through traditional channels. By following junk removal companies on social media, subscribing to newsletters, or exploring online forums, individuals can stay informed about money-saving deals and incentives that can significantly reduce the cost of junk removal services. Moreover, engaging with companies through digital platforms allows for direct communication and the possibility of negotiating customized pricing options tailored to specific junk removal needs.
Encouraging individuals to inquire about package deals or customized pricing options tailored to their specific junk removal needs can help optimize cost savings. For instance, some junk removal companies offer bundled services for comprehensive junk removal, combining different types of disposal tasks into a single cost-effective package. By exploring these tailored options, individuals can benefit from discounted rates and streamlined services that address all their junk removal requirements within a budget-friendly framework. Additionally, requesting customized pricing based on the volume and type of junk to be removed can result in a more accurate cost estimate, ensuring that individuals pay only for the services they need without incurring unnecessary expenses. Therefore, actively seeking package deals and personalized pricing options is a proactive approach to maximizing economic value when choosing a junk removal provider.

Renting Trucks and Equipment for DIY Junk Hauling

Detailing the cost advantages of renting trucks or equipment from various suppliers, including Home Depot, U-Haul, and local rental companies, for DIY junk removal projects is essential for individuals looking to save money. Renting trucks from home improvement stores like Lowe's or Home Depot for affordable hourly rates can significantly reduce the cost of junk hauling compared to hiring a professional service. For example, renting a truck for a few hours to transport large items to disposal sites can be a cost-effective solution for individuals with minimal junk removal needs. Moreover, the flexibility of rental periods and size options offered by suppliers allows DIY enthusiasts to customize their junk removal experience based on their specific requirements and budget constraints.
Highlighting the flexibility of rental periods, size options, and additional services like driver assistance or disposal fees that may impact the overall cost of DIY junk hauling is crucial for individuals planning their removal projects. For instance, individuals embarking on DIY junk removal projects can choose the rental period that aligns with their schedule, whether they need the truck for a few hours or a full day. Additionally, the availability of various truck sizes enables individuals to select the most suitable option based on the volume of junk to be transported, ensuring efficient space utilization and cost savings. Furthermore, considering additional services such as driver assistance or disposal fees can help individuals budget accurately and avoid unexpected expenses during the junk removal process. By understanding these variables and planning effectively, individuals can make the most of their DIY junk hauling experience while staying within their financial limits.
Providing tips on optimizing truck space, securing items for transit, and adhering to safety guidelines when self-hauling junk to disposal sites is essential for ensuring a smooth and efficient DIY junk removal process. When loading a rental truck with junk items, it's important to maximize space utilization by stacking items efficiently and securing them to prevent shifting during transit. For example, using moving blankets, straps, or tie-downs can help secure bulky items and protect them from damage while on the road. Additionally, adhering to safety guidelines such as lifting heavy objects properly, wearing protective gear, and following traffic regulations is crucial to prevent accidents and injuries during the junk hauling process. By incorporating these safety measures and organizational tips, individuals can complete their DIY junk removal projects successfully while prioritizing their well-being and the safety of others.

Local Trash Pickup Services for Affordable Junk Removal

Explaining how municipal or private trash pickup services can offer cost-effective solutions for bulk junk removal, especially for smaller quantities or infrequent needs, is vital for individuals seeking budget-friendly options. Municipal waste management departments often provide bulk pickup services as part of their regular offerings, allowing residents to dispose of large items such as furniture or appliances at minimal or no additional cost. For example, communities like San Jose, California, may have designated collection days for bulk items, making it convenient and affordable for residents to get rid of unwanted belongings. By taking advantage of these local services, individuals can declutter their spaces without breaking the bank.
Discussing the importance of checking local regulations, scheduling guidelines, and eligibility criteria for utilizing bulk pickup services effectively helps individuals navigate the process smoothly. Before scheduling a bulk pickup for junk removal, it's crucial to familiarize oneself with the rules and regulations set by the local waste management authority. This may include guidelines on acceptable items, preparation instructions, and scheduling protocols to ensure a seamless collection process. By adhering to these requirements and being aware of any eligibility criteria, individuals can avoid potential issues and ensure that their junk is removed in accordance with local regulations. Moreover, understanding the scheduling guidelines and planning ahead can help individuals coordinate their junk removal needs efficiently and take full advantage of the cost-effective services available in their area.
Highlighting the convenience and affordability of coordinating with local waste management authorities for curbside pickups or designated drop-off locations for junk disposal can encourage individuals to explore these accessible options. In addition to curbside pickups for bulky items, some municipalities offer designated drop-off locations where residents can deposit their junk for proper disposal. By utilizing these facilities, individuals can conveniently get rid of unwanted items without incurring significant costs associated with professional junk removal services. Moreover, the ease of coordination with local waste management authorities ensures a hassle-free experience for individuals looking to declutter their spaces and dispose of junk responsibly. By leveraging these community resources, individuals can contribute to cleaner neighborhoods and support sustainable waste management practices in their area.

Dumpster Rental Options for Cost-Effective Junk Disposal

Comparing different dumpster rental sizes, durations, and pricing structures available from waste management companies, junk removal providers, and rental agencies is essential for individuals seeking cost-effective junk disposal solutions. Dumpster rentals come in various sizes, ranging from small containers suitable for residential projects to larger units designed for commercial or construction debris. By selecting the appropriate dumpster size based on the volume of junk to be disposed of, individuals can optimize space utilization and potentially reduce rental costs. Additionally, understanding the rental durations offered by different providers allows individuals to align their rental period with the project timeline, avoiding unnecessary expenses from extended rentals.
Providing insights on factors influencing dumpster rental costs, such as weight limits, distance from disposal facilities, and additional fees for hazardous materials, helps individuals make informed decisions when choosing a rental option. Dumpster rental costs can vary based on factors like weight limits imposed by providers, distance from the disposal facility, and any additional fees for specialized disposal needs. For instance, disposing of hazardous materials may incur extra charges due to the required safety protocols and disposal methods. By considering these factors and budgeting accordingly, individuals can select a dumpster rental option that meets their junk removal requirements while staying within their financial constraints. Moreover, by exploring different types of dumpsters, such as roll-off containers or compactors, individuals can tailor their choice to the specific demands of their project, whether it involves large-scale cleanouts, renovations, or construction debris removal.
Discussing the benefits of using roll-off dumpsters, front-load containers, or compactors for efficient junk removal projects with varying volumes and disposal needs showcases the versatility of dumpster rental options. Roll-off dumpsters are ideal for projects generating large amounts of debris, such as home renovations or construction sites, due to their spacious design and easy loading access. Front-load containers, on the other hand, are suitable for ongoing waste management needs in commercial settings, offering regular pickups and flexible service schedules. Compactors are useful for reducing waste volume through compression, making them a cost-effective choice for businesses generating significant amounts of trash. By selecting the most appropriate dumpster type for their specific requirements, individuals can streamline their junk removal process and achieve optimal efficiency in waste disposal.

Recycling and Donation Strategies for Sustainable Junk Disposal

Outlining the process of separating recyclable items from general junk for proper disposal is essential in promoting sustainable junk removal practices. Recycling plays a vital role in reducing the environmental impact of junk disposal by diverting recyclable materials from landfills and conserving valuable resources. For example, items such as paper, cardboard, glass, and certain plastics can be recycled to create new products, minimizing the need for raw materials and reducing energy consumption. By separating recyclable items from general junk and ensuring they are disposed of in designated recycling centers, individuals can contribute to a more sustainable waste management system and help protect the environment.
Listing local recycling centers, donation centers, and charitable organizations that accept furniture, appliances, electronics, and other reusable items for repurposing or resale provides individuals with practical options for sustainable junk disposal. Many communities have dedicated facilities that accept donations of gently used items for redistribution to those in need or resale in thrift stores. By donating items that are still in good condition, individuals not only reduce waste but also support charitable causes and community initiatives. Additionally, local recycling centers often provide drop-off locations for a wide range of materials, making it easy for individuals to recycle items like electronics, batteries, and household goods responsibly. By exploring these recycling and donation options, individuals can make a positive impact on the environment and contribute to a circular economy focused on sustainability.
Stressing the importance of donating usable items to reduce landfill waste, support community initiatives, and contribute to a circular economy focused on sustainability underscores the broader benefits of sustainable junk disposal practices. Donating items that are no longer needed but still in good condition not only prevents them from ending up in landfills but also extends their usefulness to others in the community. Therefore, by embracing donation strategies as part of their junk removal process, individuals can make a meaningful contribution to building a more sustainable and eco-conscious society.

Letters of Recommendation
APUSH Teacher (9 / 10), I had him for three years, he was the mock trial club sponsor, and I was his TA. We had a great relationship.
Econ Teacher (9.5 / 10), I was able to read this letter (he showed me without asking), and it was so over the top. In addition, without me asking, he wrote a letter to my top school telling them how good of a student I was and how I would attend.
Principal (9/10), I worked very closely with the principal and he gave some very specific and unique praise.
Counselor (6?/10). Did not interact with them a lot and I had some issues with them, but I was very involved with the school and had good grades so I feel like it would be nothing too good or too bad.
Interviews
Harvard - 8/10. Went for two hours and I really enjoyed talking with him. I kept in touch with him after my interview as well.
Princeton - 8/10. I enjoyed talking with her and she was interested in the same items as me.
Yale - 9/10. It was a weird interview but I think he really liked me me. It was also a little weird because he asked for me to teach him how binary numbers work, and good router recommendations.
Dartmouth - 8/10. He was also an Eagle Scout, so we bonded over it.
Duke - 10/10. She was a Judge and we really bonded. I said the perfect things to say without me knowing I should say them if that makes sense. Really enjoyed talking with her.
Essays
Essays were meh except one supplemental for Yale. My main was maybe a 7/10. I've lived a really boring life so I didn't have a lot to talk about. My main essay was tying my love for a specific genre of music into some activities done over the years.
Decisions
I'm going to list my schools, what my prediction was, and the result (hidden for dramatic effect) in alphabetical order. With the exception of the schools with specific rounds, everything is RD.

Additional Information:
I received a wonderful email from my filler Yale filler AO who loved my common app essay topic and one of my supplementals. As I said above, I do plan on reading my admissions file and will post later. I also plan on doing an AMA when after I read my files.
My advice is to start early. Identify who your LOR's will be and ask them by the end of April. Start drafting an outline for your common app essay. Also enjoy what you do. I did what I loved and it showed with my EC's. Also don't take 6 AP's senior year. It made a stressful year even more stressful. Lmk if you have any questions.
