We’re 1 week into potty training our 25 month old using Oh Crap method. I’m well aware he is on the younger side, at least in comparison to many other moms I’ve spoken to. He’s been making great progress with peeing. He is still in diapers for naps and bedtime at the moment and he will continue to be in them until we feel like he is waking up dry consistently. He has maybe 1-2 accidents a day, but for the most part, we’ve found his groove. He can hold his pee (for now) for about 1.5-2 hours. The only issue we’ve been having is with the poop. Everything I’ve read has warned me about the withholding and constipation but I honestly didn’t foresee it being this stressful. Let me give you a rundown:
Day 1: Pooped on the floor. He was trying to hide and ask for his diaper but it all just happened so fast and fell out. I didn’t make a big deal, of course but had him help me clean it up. I dumped it down the toilet and had him watch me to show him where it’s supposed to go.
Day 2: He pooped in his nap time diaper.
Day 3: Pooped in the tub.
Day 4: No poop
Day 5: No poop, but was showing cues (asked for diaper, trying to hide, grabbing his butt, walking on tip toes) so we tried to get him to sit on the potty but he was going absolutely ballistic.
Day 6: Pooped partially on the floor, partially was hanging out his butt so we transferred him to the potty so the rest made it into the potty (idk if this counts).
Day 7: No poop, but showing cues.
We have tried many times to get him to sit on the potty to poop. We’ve brought him into the bathroom when either hubby or I was going to demonstrate. We have tried giving him privacy, we have tried distracting him with a toy or a book and it doesn’t work. He gets upset or he stands up too early because I don’t think he has the patience yet to be able to sit for long periods of time yet that pooping requires. It’s resulted in lots of tears and frustration.
It’s gotten to the point where we are ready to throw in the towel on pooping in the potty and just giving in to the diaper whenever he asks for it. We are still going to offer the potty when he shows the cues, but if it just turns into fights and tears, I’d rather him just go where his more comfortable because I KNOW he has to go. I don’t think it’s worth him being uncomfortable or even in pain. Will doing this confuse him or set him back? Every time I look for answers on this particular issue, everyone always says it was a different experience for their kid as far as how long it took them to stop using the diaper to poop. But I found that the general consensus seems to be that children will figure out how to poop on the potty on their own time and terms once they’re ready? I’m really hoping this is the case so I don’t have to keep coercing him into something he’s not ready for.

One thing seemingly unites millennials and Gen Z with respect to their socioeconomic political outlook. That is the younger generation’s consistent trend towards socialist policies. Many younger people today would agree that higher taxes, more government services, a universal income, more regulatory agencies, and debt forgiveness are ideal policies. However, these policies would all need to be carefully administered by a federal bureaucracy already criticized for being bloated and corrupt. Curious then why a society so distrustful of government is demanding that government secure more money and gain more authority to regulate the economy.
The reason for this apparent dissonance is the fact that many, if not most, young people have absolutely no clue about how finance actually works. Federally funded education has failed many generations of students and is a good example of why government programs are inherently bad. Taxpayer funded programs are inherently flawed because there is no private mechanism to ensure success; all public programs are run by people who don’t want to lose their jobs. There is fundamentally no incentive for a public program to solve the problem it was mandated to solve.
Rather, all public programs, including education, are incentivized to follow this cycle: (1) perpetuate low level crises in order to justify the existence of the institution, (2) solve some aspect of the problem, to justify the continued appointment of present leadership, (3) lobby for increased funding to solve the problem during an election/voting cycle, (4) fail to solve the problem while still using limitless tax dollars, (5) repeat. The department of education, along with all other institutions, follow this model. There may be Boy Scouts who work for the government who truly want their agency/department to eventually be shuttered or streamlined due to the unparalleled efficiency, competence, and efficacy of their work. But most bureaucrats simply want to keep their jobs forever.
All this to say that socialist policies which require government oversight are fool’s errands on their face because no public administration can avoid corruption due to the nature of public institutions. Private institutions, which are bound by market forces, may be corrupt, but if there is sufficient competition then corruption is literally impossible. Free, capitalist markets with sufficient competition cannot be corrupt simply because any inefficient allocation of capital via corruption will undermine the company’s ability to compete among other enterprises that dont waste money/resources this way. Obviously reality is more nuanced, but this law is essentially true, also public institutions don’t compete with private ones because public institutions are often funded with infinite public dollars and therefore don’t rely on the “rational consumer.”
The rational consumer is integral to this entire scenario I’m describing. Free market competition cannot exist without a rational consumer who ensures that this competition exists by making reasonable choices about how he spends his hard-earned money. While most economists, have always agreed that the “rational consumer” is a figment of our collective imagination, the premise has always been broadly assumed. The assumption is that people are generally wise enough to understand how finances and market forces work and allocate their money accordingly.
This could not be further from the truth. Scores of youth are suckered by tiktok and YouTube gurus who lie about financial topics to desperate people in to get ad revenue. The youth today are seeing their American dream collapse, in part because most young people graduate high school without even an iota of an understanding about what a “premium” is or how “interest” actually works. People don’t know the difference between a stock and a bond, or that a “401k” doesn’t mean $401,000.
This ignorance of basic economics causes the world’s largest consumer economy, the US, economy to behave monstrously inefficiently because few sectors are competitive and populated by rational consumers. Rather, most markets consist of fools with borrowed money, and corrupt, colluding companies willing to leech and fleece children and adults alike. In turn, this inherent market failure caused by a failed education system, produces a bastardized economy which creates appalling wealth inequality and public hatred of “capitalism” as a concept.
Thus, most young people who are NOT rational economic actors have a tendency to distrust capitalism despite not understanding how finance or “capital” actually works, and therefore they favor socialism or even communism as an answer to a failed economic system despite the fact that public institutions have for more opportunities to be corrupt than competitively private ones do. So you can mark my words, the youth in America will succeed in pushing the US towards socialism, ON BOTH SIDES, because very few people actually understand how finance works yet are enraged by the current order, so the political left and right support candidates who lobby for sweeping political control over the economy.
TL;DR: the DoE has failed several generations and the entire system of American capitalism by not ensuring that graduates understand basic macro/micro economic terms along with personal finance because capitalism requires rational consumers/actors to maintain efficiency yet the average consumer is constantly fleeced out of their money by corporations who are far more sophisticated than zoomer who doesn’t know how compound interest works.

I too attempted suicid at 19 then got sectioned which didn’t help I may add. But I would advise you don’t do it the immediate thought I had was FUCK ! But was too late. I was lucky enough to have my gf at the time only been with 4months find me and help me. I had now married that woman and have three children with her. The point I’m trying to make though is that life can be shit it can feel like shit hell I still have these thoughts of suicide now and I’m 28 now.
There are things that can help though the saying life’s a piece of shit is true on one hand and on the other life is beautiful is true on the other if you slow down and really picture life in the present moment it really can be beautiful.
Things to keep in mind are Be present don’t worry about what you don’t have don’t compare instead look and see what is around you who is around you what have you got available around you and what can you do to affect and change the things around you if they need changing at all ( not the best analogy but almost like a video game.
Mind set is also a big game changer not at first but with training can become a great tool remeber long that you can’t be positive all the time unless you are just an all around positive person.
There is always a way forward I don’t like bringing religion into it but almost picture yourself as a best friend or son/daughter that needs taking care of at first.
This can be done by finding what interests you for example start little could be a simple walk to something more complex like body building
Set goals and try your best to hit them It could be something as simple as in 6 months I want to be stronger than before then set up a routine and a discipline to complete these goals.
Ask yourself what is making me unhappy you will get the answer trust me! Now ask yourself
Is this a permanent issue? Most of our issues aren’t permanent or are usually based on an external or comparison perspective.
Why does it bother me? Is another question that the answer is usually linked to something we either compared ourselves too or circumstance
And then Lastly ask what can I do to change it? This will fire your brain into go mode and believe me it will find a way This is where you will find purpose action and joy, (you will feel fear at first and then unwillingness the what’s the point sort of thoughts will kick in but stick it out because change is coming.

The governor seemed, for some reason, not so enthusiastic, despite having met these hunters in the flesh. General Kam, on the other hand, was hellbent on getting rid of Humans ASAP. The Venlil were not renowned for their military, but he still managed to assemble a fleet of four thousand without weakening the front too much.
Half of the fleet’s crew was actually extermination officers, since our mission was to eliminate predators. They were a little impressive, to be honest. I wondered why exterminators aren’t more often used in military expeditions, but I guess they’re more needed back home?
At least I made a friend: Garn, an exterminator and tallest Venlil I’ve ever seen. He looks like he didn’t get the memo about Venlil being supposed to be weak. He was our instructor, briefing us on predator behavior, and found I stomached his presentation better than most.
We talked for a bit, and he told me I could perhaps become an exterminator if I wanted to leave the army, although I admitted I would probably seek a safer job. He acknowledged it would probably be better. The next days, it was my turn teaching him things, mainly about how things operate on a spaceship, what would be his role, and how to read a star map.

Edexcel's boundaries are lower than Cambridge, but the style of question is new to me and I heard that the questions are harder than Cambridge. I deceit to learn Finnish language (I knew it on a begginer level only back then), and go to the university in Finland after finishing college and mastering the language. I have B1-B2 level, I can understand Suomalainen but it is still hard for me to give a talk in Finnish.
I am planning to master the language to C1 level and then try to go to the universityino next 2 years. I still have got problems with declinations.
All in all, I have read some russia-related "treds" and as far as I see people mostly have good opinion on Russians and negative opinion on the government mostly. But I still would like to hear your opinion on Russian man visiting your country nowadays.
Also I would like ask for a recommendation on Finnish literature that would not be very difficult for a non-native speaker, and would be helpfull to improve language skills (I'm into Science fiction and fantasy).
Also I often hear that there are a lot of good Finnish music, but I have never listened to any and I do not know what to start from. I enjoy mostly rock and heavy metal, I will be grateful of recommendations as well.

Happy Saturday. I have been invested in CLOV for three years now. I initially invested when it was at 17 dollars a share and have now lowered my average cost to 1.66. I currently have 23k shares and my goal is to get to 30k by the end of the year.
Just a little background on me. I work as an Occupational Therapist in home health care. For those that do not know, my job is to ensure the patient (often the geriatric population) is functioning as safely and independently as possible within their home. I work on fall prevention, medication compliance and strategies for medication management as well as fall prevention and balance. I also recommend and order adaptive equipment and other durable medical equipment to enhance a patient's accessibility to their home. Furthermore, I establish home exercise programs for patients to enhance strength and complete caregiver training to enhance the safety and quality of life of patients and caregivers.
When I first heard of what Clover Assistant does I knew it was a brilliant idea. I am constantly on the phone with primary physician offices discussing concerns I have over medications, falls, equipment needs and updating doctors and their staff on patient's function. I have been doing this for 6 years and it is obvious how overwhelmed many of these primary physicians are.

When looking at competitors, Humana stock is currently down 30% on the year. Imagine there was a software technology that has proven ability to lower medical costs, diagnose diseases early for better outcomes leading to less money spent on each patient. Imagine there was software technology that enhances medication compliance leading to less hospitalizations and issues with patients. That technology is Clover Assistant/Counterpart Assistant.
Humana has their back against the wall along with other companies who are going to be looking for ways to reduce MCR and cost in their business. Currently, Humana has nearly 17 million lives under management. They also posted over a 500 million dollar loss in Q4 of 2023 due to "raising medicare advantage costs."
Currently, there are 24 million people with MA plans in the United States. That number is expected to reach 38 million people by 2030. As the United States geriatric population continues to grow it will open up a larger market for CLOV to offer services to on both a MA insurance plan as well as SAAS through other MA plans.
As Clover Assistant/Counterpart Assistant continues to gain members its technology ability will only compound and become greater as the AI technology continues to develop and identify new trends and preventative measures. What I find so important about Clover Assistant/Counterpart Assistant is that it is proactive and not reactive to patient's needs.
Now here is where I begin to speculate as the SAAS announcement was just made.... From listening to the call with Toy and the CFO Peter it sounds like CLOV is looking to offer counterpart assistant as a PMPM (per member per month) service. This would be a subscription type of revenue. With MA plans currently being held by 24 million Americans what if CLOV was able to tap SAAS revenue from only 5% of the market? That would be 1.2 million members that could be collected for SAAS PMPM subscription revenue. Having millions of members on PMPM basis would bring in some nice revenue with SAAS pricing from wall street. The potential is huge as I see Clover Health a true market disrupter with a unique skill set and service offered.
This is getting long so I'll end it here. But what we have with CLOV right now is a technology desperately needed by MA plans to assist with cost. This could be the perfect storm for CLOV to bring in a lot of revenue on the SAAS side of the business as companies right now are looking for answers to increasing member costs.

Pricing is either what I paid for it or a little more if it’s something special that’s not easy to find or not being bred anymore.
*Each strain is in original packaging stored in a curidor at a steady 52 degrees, no light, no humidity. I find this is the best way to store beans for long term storage and guaranteed high germination rates. I usually get 97-100% germ rate with my germination method which I will include on a printed out sheet for anyone who grabs any of my offerings. I want you to succeed and find something special - I cherish my collection and sad to see a lot of it go but you gotta do what you gotta do. Husband of 20 years is probably cheating on me. So here it goes, sll of my dirty secrets.
I, 45f been married to my husband 46, male for over 20 years to a man I met in my early 20’s. We have been very best friends since the day we met but it has been a rocky relationship. I am from an abusive alcoholic family and I was for a time blissfully an alcoholic along with the family. This of coarse was problematic when looking for a date. More than one boyfriend broke up with me because I drank too much, partied too hard and studied too little. Cue in my dream man, he’s responsible, well educated and a heavy drinker. We partied all night and he got up the next day, no matter how hungover and went to work. My mom said that this is normal, it’s how it’s supposed to be. If a man makes it to work everyday then he’s not an alcoholic. By her definition, only a man who misses work can be accused of drinking too much.
I married this replica of my father and for many blissful years we were married and we partied and drank. We’d drink a bottle or two of wine a few nights a week and on weekends we’d stay up all night, often having parties at our home. It was grand fun, until we had kids. All of the sudden I had to handle night feedings and morning diaper changes while tipsy, drunk or hungover. It didn’t take me long to quit, I had already quit for 9 months while pregnant and I had gotten the idea that life is better sober. But my partner didn’t agree. He was drunk most nights while I was pregnant. When I got annoyed and asked him to quit he hid the bottles. I had a second child with him in spite of the drinking (I wanted a matching set), not my best decision but I don’t regret it. When I was at the hospital he looked exhausted so I sent him home to rest. He went home and drank himself into a stupor. My mom had to drive me home from the hospital and when we got home, he was passed out on the living room floor. He slept for another 10 hours like that and he was drunk the entire first week of my daughter’s life. I had to ask my mom to help care for her since I’d had complications with the birth and had over 30 stitches.
His drinking went on for years with me going from kicking him out of the home to drinking with him. Often I would plead with him to quit and he’d refuse. On 4 occasions we separated, each time selling our home and dividing the property. But he’d get sober and he was always very sorry. At this point we had two kids and I needed the help.
Over time things got better and he went years and years without drinking. I had quit altogether after our first child. In fact things go so much better that he asked to start drinking again. He rationalized that he had been sober for 5 years and that he can handle one of two drinks a week. I agreed under the following terms, he can have up to two drinks with dinner once a week. I know this is a terrible decision, I think it’s fair to say that there is a pattern here of gawd awful decisions on my part. This 2 drink agreement lasted a few months but of course two drinks turned into 3, then it turned into a couple nights a week. I saw it was getting out of hand and I banned drinking again.
In the meantime my partner has gotten substantially better looking. It’s through a combination of favourable genetics, some recent work done and some excellent supplements. He aged well going from a 6.5 in his 20’s to a current day 8.5. More than that he’d recently opened a business and it was booming. For the first time in our married life he started to out earn me. For the first 20 years I was the primary wage earner, but now he’s making the more than me (this is temporary as my wage is about to pick up). The woman are noticing him and It’s not lost on me or him. We went to Mexico last year and women were practically following him around and throwing themselves at him. We go out to eat and woman hit on him. They hit on him at the grocery store and they hit on him at work. To his credit he does not respond to this in front of me or the kids. Nor have I ever heard of him hitting on somebody.
I’m a solid 7 - 7.5. I’ve aged okay, I look decent, I’m maybe a little heavier as size 10. But I’m not a hot young thing giggling at him. I am a wife and a mother, so not always sexy, but still quite a lot prettier than average. But realistically on the open market, I’m probably not attracting an 8.5 that earns his kind of money.
About 8 months ago he started coming home from work drunk. He was hiding it but I could smell the booze on his breath. He claimed it was heartburn but I knew better and I ignored it. I just wanted everything to be okay. There was a woman he was working with, he claimed to hate her, she seemed overly interested in him. There were a few incidents, that made me suspicious but he claimed he hated her. He was never home late from work. She moved away and he seemed fine and I was relieved. But a few months after this the drinking started, along with my denial. I guess I kinda figured that who cares if he cheated, she moved away. Now we can get on with our lives.
Recently he’s coming home from work late, but not too late. It’s an hour late here and there. Sometimes he’d claim that he’d have to stay an extra hour. A few times he went completely missing and claimed to have fallen asleep at the office. The problem is that I don’t really know his hours, it’s possible he’s done earlier. For context, he is self employed and rents a space. But other people rent spaces there too,
He’s been coming home drunker and drunker lately while still denying he’s been drinking. I’m ashamed to admit it but I ignored it to the point where I let him drive the kids a few times like that. I was just so far into denial, but I knew somewhere deep down that he was drunk.
He’s normally off work at 5pm and in the car by 5:10pm. But lately he’s not in the car until 5:45pm, ignoring my calls and sometimes coming into the house as late as 6pm. I mean it’s only 45 minutes right? A few times he’d go missing until 7:30 or 8pm and he’d say that he hate a late client appointment and had told me but I forgot. Strangely he’s never hungry when he gets home, in spite of being at work all day. In fact he’s not hungry 2 - 3 times a week. He told me that his stomach is bothering him.
Last night he went missing so I went to his office to look for him. I found him asleep in his office alone with an empty bottle of hard alcohol on his desk. I checked his office drawer and it was full of empty bottles. The office is a disaster, messy and all that. I’m not sure how he sees clients in a room like that and I’m worried that he’s taking appointments drunk. His business is doing really well and building it up was a joint effort. I’m worried that his drinking will destroy everything we built.
I woke him up and he was visibly drunk. He told me that he wants to stay at the office to sleep it off and that no he doesn’t want to talk about it and he didn’t come home. It’s been 6 hours. The thing is, that he hates sleeping in his work clothes and his office is desperately uncomfortable. I just don’t see him staying there overnight alone.
When the drinking flared up 6 months ago, it was just him drinking alone. But when he was sober he was still my best friend. But over time he’s stopped responding when I speak. He tells me that he drinks because he can’t stand to listen to my problems anymore. If I ask him about his day I get a one word answer. More and more he looks at me with contempt while drinking. But even stranger, he wants sex more often, I don’t know why this is. But he’s weird about it and hounding me. He’s going on and on about how to wants to try a sex position we’ve never done, talking about how much he likes it. He’s also looking over my shoulder and checking my phone, which is new. it’s intrusive as I don’t even know his passcode and feel no temptation to check his phone.
He gets paid in cash and has a drawer full of it at the office so I can’t check his cards.
Now I know what you are going to say. He’s definitely cheating, I mean he probably is. But we live in a no fault place so what does it matter if I get proof or not? Also I have two kids to think of and we aren’t in a financial position to leave. I will need time to pay down our joint debt and I need a new job. I’m thinking that the best course of action is to stay silent and improve my situation so that I can support my kids and myself. I think this works for him too as he doesn’t want to get stuck with all sorts of child support or alimony. Giving me time to get back on my feet and improve my financial position works for both of us.
The thing is that if I even bring up getting divorced or separated he says that I am the light of his life. He says that he loves me and that I’m his best friend. He says that he doesn’t want to leave. Then I feel so badly. If I even broach the topic of separating, he’ll shut it down so quickly. He’s overwhelming and persistent and he out talks me. I think there’s no use in talking it out and I don’t see us living together well under some sort of “arrangement”.
Do you have any advice on what to do next? Do you have any idea why he’s acting this way? If he wants to separate why not just do it? Also what’s with the increased sex drive?
One of the oddities is that I’ve been doing really great lately. I’ve lost some weight, my hair is looking good. My business sucks but I’ve been taking on new gigs and retraining. I’m becoming a person that I’m really proud of and every day seems to be getting better. But the better I do, the more contempt he seems to have for me. I can see the bitterness in his drunkenness. And he gets drunks on nights when I have to work and when I have something important going on. He blames the drinking on me. He says that I only talk about myself (maybe I do, I’m trying to improve). He says that I ask too much of him and that I make him contribute to the house too much but I do 100% of the grocery shopping, cooking, lunches, school stuff, homework and kids activities. He comes home and goes straight to bed while complaining that he’s doing too much. Meanwhile I’m breaking myself trying to make the home perfect enough.
Is there any chance that he’s just old and tired and not cheating? I mean he’s only missing for 45 minutes a day? I should mention that he’s stopped answering my calls during the workday and stopped reading my texts.
The weird thing is that I felt relieved to find him surrounded by booze bottles and I’m glad he’s done tonight. I’ve spent the majority of my adult life begging him to be sober. Tonight I could see the contempt in his eyes towards me. I just don’t know that I can move past it. I think I just want to be free from this now.
Do you have any advice? I’ve never been through anything like this and I could use some support and guidance.
I think that taking 4 - 6 months to resolve the situation might be best. This gives me time to find a new job and to pay down some debt and bolster savings.

The Terran ambassador closed his fist tightly. It seemed as if his plans were thwarted. Just as he opened his mouth -- ready to raise his voice once more -- his assistant tapped his shoulder to calm him down. They then had a short discussion.
