5-4/5-5 and G2-4/G2-5, even if they're arbitrarily separated into two chapters (I think because people complain if the main campaign doesn't reach 5 chapters), are just 1 case. Same victims, same culprits, same evidence.
"But in 5-4 you clear Starbuck's name and another character gets arrested so it's technically a different trial" So? 1-2 also changes the defendant halfway-through, 3-2 also has you winning the trial halfway-through before you're thrust into another, but everyone can see it's the same case. Same victim, same culprit, same evidence.
"But in 5-5 they do change the victim" But it's not a separate case, it's the same old "the killer also committed another murder X years ago and they're both connected" that Ace Attorney always does. The evidence doesn't change from chapter to chapter for a reason.
(I don't even know how people would justify the G2-4/G2-5 split honestly, but I'd argue the same way that they're the same case)
But then I think... What about 6-5? This case really does feel like two cases in one, like they wrote 6-4 in the last minute because they forgot to give Athena a case, but they also didn't want to break the 5-chapter tradition with 6 cases so they put them together with duct tape.
(From here on to avoid confusion, I'll refer to the first half of 6-5 as "The Civil Turnabout", an unofficial name I've heard for it which isn't the coolest or most original but it will do for now, and the second half as "Turnabout Revolution")
When people say they like or dislike 6-5, this alone tells me nothing. I've seen people like both Civil and Revolution, dislike both, or like one but dislike the other, for different reasons. Because they're two different cases that it makes no sense to group together. It's like if I'm ranking cases and I say "the best case of Trials and Tribulations is the second half" and you know I'm talking about Beginnings and Bridge but you don't know if I prefer one over the other or if I don't really like one of them but my love for the other is so big that it cancels it out. And I could rank them separately but they both have Dahlia and Godot and they take place in the same bridge so it must be one single case!!!!
That's my problem with Civil and Revolution. Civil is one incident, Revolution is another unrelated incident, with its own whole "incident that happened X years ago" which, you guessed it, also has no relation to Civil. The victims are different, the culprits are different, the prosecutor is different the COUNTRY is different, Civil even gets its own Revisualization minigame which are always the climax of the case! These are so very clearly different cases, that when Civil ends Apollo says "oops let me clean my court record haha" and gets rid of all the evidence because they're that irrelevant to Revolution. I think the only relation they have are... Dhurke, the orb, and Inga pulling the strings behind the curtain? You could make a more convincing argument for I2-4 and I2-5 being more connected and therefore being the same case! (please don't)

First, I am forever sorry for how I handled the way you ended things with me. The breakup needed to happen no matter how much I did not want it to. We would have fallen out eventually. I needed you to walk away from me because I was not changing. At that time I didn’t understand myself. I didn’t understand how to process my emotions fully. I’d write about being grateful and acknowledging the change. I analyzed past relationships of mine and noticed I indeed had a pattern of avoiding emotional confrontation. I’ve realized that if I didn’t work on this then I’d forever be caught in an endless cycle of heartbreak and not solving this would prevent me from achieving my biggest goal in life, and that is to be the best father I can be.

I have had almost all of the symptoms of a sugar intolerance most of my life and am only just starting to recognise the link between sugar and all of these issues I thought had no relation until now. For example, skin issues, bloating, lethargy, itchy skin, mood swings.
All of which have noticeably improved in the past when I have been eating not much sugar and pretty healthy. However, the second I have any small amount of sugar like a chocolate bar they all come back in full fury.
So naturally I’m keen to cut out sugar for at least a month and see how drastically it can improve these symptoms. However, I’m a long distance runner and field hockey player so naturally I burn through a lot of glycogen daily.
I’ve trained on a keto diet before (admittedly not for very long so maybe I should have taken some more time getting used to it) and I really hated how much weaker it made me feel. But I really do want to fully commit to this sugar free process.
So I guess my question is will it be worth the benefits to go all out and just go low-carb/keto or will I have pretty much similar results with just quitting sugars like sucrose and fructose rather than carbs altogether? Alternatively should I start out keto and slowly reintroduce carbs to see what potential trigger foods may be?

Ok so I'm quickly becoming a cautionary tale but please tell me I'm being dramatic and it's not going to be as expensive as I fear.
Ok so building new house, thought everything was bedrock (1/3 of the site was exposed bedrock) decided on pillar foundation. Diet is heavy so hired a guy to scrape off the rock. Rock kept getting deeper and dude kept going, by the time I got there after work (yes I'm stupid I should have taken the day off). I had a family member meet the guy onsite to go over the plan. I forgot to tell my family member to have the guy stop if there isn't any bedrock after 4-5 feet. (Yes again cautionary tale)
Anyway super fun result of my stupidity is that the site that was supposed to be an 1 story <100sq ft house on a couple feet of pillar foundation (no basement) is now a mess. 1/3 is bedrock as expected then then the next 1/3 is a slope down with rises for boulders and the last 1/3 has a many 10+ish foot hole to the bedrock.
Yes I am stupid and totally f'ed up with my crappy instructions. I fully accept this mess is entirely my own making. So how big of a f-up is this? Think I can like fill with riprap/gravel or something and build on top of the gravey? Or maybe put the pillars down to the bedrock and fill in around with gravel?

And, my perspective from a late daignosed individual, to me my autism daignosis felt just like another mental illness daignosis. To me, my autism is just another mental illness in the clusterfuck that is my current mental health. Been in a relationship for about a year, a few months into the relationship my self esteem got really bad. I can’t go outside or look in mirrors now and i hate face as i have acne. I may be diagnosed with an inflammatory bowel disease soon. I’m in the process of testing and hopefully will have a diagnosis after a scope coming in a couple weeks.
My question is- do I have a case against the doctor that scoped me in 2021? I was having all of the same symptoms (diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, fatigue, weight loss, fever, as well as strong family history) and when he scoped me he found nothing and sent me on my way. From what I know, not all of the intestines can be visualized from a colonoscopy and there are other diagnostic measures he could have taken. He wrote in the scope report that he would recommend a follow up scope based on pathology results. He never did do that, and in fact he signed off my care at some point without telling me.
I’ve now had several doctor visits, procedures, and even a surgery on my stomach that all may have been completely unnecessary had I been diagnosed properly in ‘21. My stomach’s anatomy is permanently altered now (bottom sphincter has been cut open permanently.)
Left untreated, IBD has the potential to cause scarring and strictures in the bowel which can require surgical intervention/removal.

Ok so first things first, I am well acquainted with abuse and abusers, grew up in a very abusive family, except for s*xual abuse I went through everything else with them, of course this led me to see abuse as normal behavior, most kids bullied me, some close friends took advantage of my spineless behavior, and later on, I had abusive romantic partners.
Not all of them were, of course, but the ones that were I can think back and see the red flags I missed, eventually I went to therapy and kind of learned how to see them better, all that stuff.
Then comes my last ex. He was, well, great. He was attentive, kind, generous, his family welcomed me as a new addition from the first day, it all seemed too good to be true. The thing is, with other abusers, this façade would soon collapse, they weren't able to sustain it for long, but my ex seemed to really be like this, the only shady thing I can think of his past self it that he's always been very secretive about his emotions and repressed them way too much.
After about a year and a half of dating, several things happened, quarantine was one of them, my mental health decline was the other. I tried meds for the first time, it backfired and left me su*cidal for months, I had agoraphobia and went back to being terrified of people. That's when the silent treatment and refusing to get intimate with me and all the arguing began. His point was that he was okay with supporting me with my mental health stuff, as long as it got better and not worse, I tried to explain to him that sometimes things do get worse and there's nothing I can possibly do about it, he would get angrier and say that either I got "cured" or he would leave.
You can imagine how fragile I was back then, terrified of my friends,of going outside, I went back to my mom's house because of covid and had to deal with her abuse again, he felt like the only person I could trust. Even if I knew everything he was saying about mental illnesses was plain wrong, I chose to stick with him because he genuinely sounded like he wanted the best for me.
But everything only got worse, of course, his own life got harder, he was a sheltered kid that never worked or lived on his own, I on the other hand have been working ever since I was 17, we moved in together and you guessed it, it got even worse.
He was doing an unpaid internship where he would mostly observe others work instead of doing something himself, I worked part time because I wanted a little break from working 7am to 4pm for so long, so he was basically living off me and his parents, I also did most of the housework because he'd be there for so long, he didn't even have to, but he was there all day. Not only he never thanked me but he would belittle me for working part time and criticized my cooking, he was a picky eater and was used to his mom adapting to him so I had no idea this was a thing, he hated all veggies and everything that wasn't basically soup or meat and rice/potatoes. We both got folic acid deficiency from this btw, so I'm not exaggerating.
At some point my brain just gave up, I was so incredibly exhausted all the time, physically and mentally. Thank goodness I had the decision to go on a solo vacation with friends after being isolated for years and that's when I realized how badly I was being treated, by being around people who didn't treat me badly. This was last summer, as soon as I got home, the first thing I did was trying to talk to him, and knowing he wouldn't be reasonable, I knew I would have to leave him.
At this point we hadn't gotten intimate in over a year, he refused sleeping with me and would only talk to me to berate me. We argued very often, he was angry all the time, I was on edge all the time, I constantly had panic and anxiety attacks, he would treat me specially bad during these, and when I begged him for a hug sometimes he even hit me.
This was almost a year ago and I'm still broken. My memory is broken, my cognitive functions are half there, I am numb most days, can't feel a thing, not good nor bad, just can't feel, no matter what I do. I am incredibly depressed and don't have the will to do anything. I found someone great who is supportive and amazing in more ways than I can count, found great friends and rekindled friendships I left unattended because of my ex, and still I can't be there for them, not really, because I am not really here most of the time, went to therapy but can't yet afford trying EMDR (will be able soon, after I move from here) and I can't learn anything more from my therapist, it's also expensive. I quit my job and am living off my savings and unemployment, went back to one of my hobbies he used to belittle and criticize so much, I've been hired for collaborations right away and I am in several projects and I can't give my all and feel like I am disappointing people and most importantly myself all the time.
I miss the old me so bad, the one that's trapped beneath this impenetrable armor, and even though things have gotten kind of better, I hate being this fragile, quiet, soft person, when I used to be the polar opposite, I have nothing against quiet and soft people, I love them, it just feels wrong for me.
It took me a lot of work but before dating this idiot for almost 5 years, I got to be this extroverted, fun and warm person that had a million friends and was incredibly energetic, I used to be super physically active, went to a lot of social events, I had so many hobbies and was starting to carve wood. Sorry for this rant but I have been feeling very lonely lately and Reddit seems like the only place where I can post this. I’m always that person who makes plans, who reaches out to people and friends to hang out. In multiple groups of friends I’m always that person who people don’t invite to parties and hang outs. Or even if I’m invited I’m left out in some way. I see people having so many groups of friends to hang out with all the time. When people work together they form a friend circle. But not me. I know I am a nice person but why do people think it’s okay to leave me out? I see people accepting rude people, weird people, silent people. Then why not me? Do I not matter? I’m tired of sitting around hoping for a ride to do the groceries or have to Uber to work and meetings. I’ve saved up and would like to get myself a car. I feel like doing something for myself after years of trying to take care of him and the kids, pay for his education and his mums stuff etc. I really want something for myself. Relatives are advising against me buying the car because they feel he may become more abuse, the marriage may become worse and he will monopolise the new car and leave the old one. I’m torn 🤕

She probably will never see this, then again I could be wrong. I kind of hope she does so I can say some of what I wanted to say, but instead we ended up arguing over things that are really not important and I wish I could take it all back.
In High School it started and I never told anyone, not even my best friend. You were the one, the girl who was in a relationship, the crush I always wanted, the one I wanted to marry and spend my life with, to treat with the most genuine respect and to love and cherish. The problem was you were taken and I respected that line, most people don't. Yet life just kept moving forward. I come to find years later that your life has been filled with trauma, neglect, abuse, filled with drama and hate, being used and taken advantage of. The things I would never let happen to you or do to you were happening or had happened, and it breaks my heart to see you so different than the one I knew all those years ago. But deep in there it's still you and I hope that I may one day bring you back to happiness and to keep a smile on your face and to show you how much you are loved.
After 20 years we found each other living together albeit briefly after some difficult and unexpected times. I tried to tell you how I felt, you didn't want to hear it. And then we did something together I never thought would ever happen, and it was something I had hoped would happen for so long. I will always remember it and think about it everyday, how incredible it was and how it still could be. Even the first time our lips locked I was in complete ecstacy, the way you kissed me was something passionate and real, not just another kiss. You really are amazing and so beautiful and I wish we could continue to become something more. Something beautiful. Something forever.
I didn't want to leave you but I couldn't stand being thought of as just someone else there to use you. I would never hurt you. I tried to find the words, but you shut me down, you distanced yourself from me, that hurt. I know things are tough and I was willing to do everything I could to help.
Maybe I sound like I am rambling now but just know this. I am sorry for how I left, for leaving you alone, for everything wrong that I may have done. I just want you in my life, by my side. Maybe one day that will happen but it is something you need to figure out. I will continue to wait for you. If you will have me, come to me. You'll be safe and respected, loved and appreciated. For now, I am setting off on the hunt for more money, to give myself a fresh start and that also includes you, as I told you during our time together. My hand and heart will be waiting for you to take.

Will begin by saying I know I should have done a cohabitation agreement, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Bought a property 3 years ago and moved into it with my partner. The property is in my name only, I paid the entire deposit and all associated fees, I have also since paid for all repairs, renovations, diy equipment etc.
We rented together before we moved in, and split that down the middle. The flat rental was more than what the mortgage payment ended up being, so we just continued to split everything as we had when we rented after we moved in.
We're now splitting up, my partners completely broke, he has about £50 to his name and a lot of debt, unrelated to me or our relationship. He owes me a bit of money also.
He's currently looking for a rental to move out but struggling, to make things easier I offered that he didn't pay rent whilst he was looking for somewhere, which he gladly accepted I was hoping he'd save that money to put to his deposit/first month's rent but let's just say it's all gone and he's got nothing to show for it.
His mum has done some research and has told him that he's legally entitled to a share of the equity in my house, because he's paid half the mortgage cost, and because he's invested time into e.g. painting walls, putting up with builders in the house during renovations, which is over and above what you'd have in a rental.
I've done some of my own research and legally it all seems pretty sketchy and unclear. Yes he's paid half of the mortgage cost but that is well below the market rate for rent, and whilst we viewed it as our home and both clearly hoped we'd stay together and get married and this be our house, that didn't happen. I paid for everything with the renovations and didn't ask him for any money in terms of repair and renovation of the property because as it wasn't his house I thought it would make things complicated if we ever split up, it didn't seem fair to ask him to contribute to something he didn't legally own, not that he'd have had the money to do it anyway.
Based on his and his mums working they think he's owed 10-20k from me. I do not have this kind of money just lying around, yes there's equity in the house but I can't access it and my mortgage is fixed for the next 4 years.
They believe he's owed half of the equity of the house, once the cost of renovations are taken off.
I don't feel it's fair for him to get anywhere near that amount. If the market had crashed i would never be pursuing him in reverse. He would never have been able to afford to buy a house himself in this time, so if we hadn't been together he'd have spent way more money renting for the past 3 years, whereas I was always intending to buy and saved specially for a deposit for this reason. And as mentioned above whilst we never had an explicit discussion about splitting up I always viewed it that legally the house was mine, hence not asking him to contribute to maintenance and development, whereas if we stayed together got married etc then yes it would have been ours, but that's not what we did.
Morally I feel like him and his mum have blindsided me with this and I'm incredibly hurt that this is the stance they're taking. But legally, can anyone offer any advice.
EDIT: in England, if that affects anything
