2024.06.02 13:37 Concrete_hugger The game would be totally playable with keyboard and mouse, it just falls into the most superficial pitfalls with the control scheme.

I'm really having fun with the game, but it's downright aggravating that they just put in those guitar hero sections with no color coding of the buttons I need to press. Roquefort final phase and trying to tell left and right clicks apart, it's just insane they thought it'd work with the same orange highlights.
Same with being unable to bind button 4 and 5 to actions so you are forced to take your fingers off from movement to switch teammates.

With the guitar hero games I think it's just better to have the orginal cart. When playing using an R4 there's too much lag and it usually happens right in the middle of a performance, so it can really mess up your score. Not recommended for R4.

I grew up on the Jersey shore and worked at a place called the Windrift in Stone Harbor all of high school and college. Avalon and Stone Harbor are known to be two secondary home markets for people from mostly PA and NY. The homes are EXPENSIVE. You can’t find anything less than $2.5 mil on the islands now, and those are tear downs. $3.5- 5 mil is the average home price in 2024. I grew up in a neighboring town and pretty much only served extremely wealthy people at this restaurant. It’s right on the beach.
One day, in the summer of 2004, Scott Swift and his family and, I guess friends, came into the restaurant and wanted to sit on the deck. Us servers used to have a rotation on who would be taking the deck that day. The deck was the coveted spot because you got all of the tables to yourself, it had the best view so people wanted to be up there, and you had your own bartender to work with solo. That day it was my turn to have the deck.
Unfortunately, the weather was insane. There was wind and non-stop rain. The whole lower part of the restaurant was empty, so all other servers and bartenders went home and one chef stayed. The kitchen was a block and a half away from the deck and two floors down. The bartender that would normally take care of the deck also went home since there was only one party up there. I was to serve as both server and bartender. Scott wanted to watch some game so we brought TVs up and put plastic all around the deck to keep the rain out. It was so nasty out but they wanted to be there.
In my entire time of being a server (which ended up being 11 years), I have NEVER been run more ragged by a group. Scott was non-stop asking for things. I was bartending left and right, and then when food came, I kept having to make separate two block sprints to the kitchen to get him specialty things. He would ask for one thing, I’d bring it, and then he’d ask for another, separately. It was exhausting. I was in high school too and was an athlete so I had a lot of energy 😅
To add to that, Scott was also talking to me NON-STOP. It was actually extremely bizarre and I was freaked out. I could tell immediately there was something wrong with him. He had no filter and didn’t even care who I was, my body language, if I was listening or not. Here I was just a rando high school waitress and he was telling me, “My daughter is going to be famous. She’s so talented. We’re moving to Nashville for her. She’s going to be the biggest thing ever,” etc. I couldn’t get away from him and he was a close talker. It wasn’t like he was flirting, more just talking at me. The rest of his family sat at a table and his friends were walking around watching the game. No one was talking to him 😅
The saving grace was I figured I’d get a huge tip. They were there all day and knew they were keeping the restaurant open. Plus, this man was basically bragging about how they had the means to have a house there, how he was in finance, etc. I went above and beyond in terms of service.
When they finally left and I went to look at the bill, he has left nothing, not even a dollar. To this day, that’s my only table to has never tipped, let alone a party. So much for that.
Before they left, he said his daughter had a website, so I asked for the address. I figured she was going to truly have to be beyond talented for this man to talk this way. I’m a singer and am super into vocalists so I was intrigued to listen. I guess I didn’t have a cell phone back then, because he wrote the web address on a piece of paper. When I got home, I went to the website on my desktop. All it was was a picture of her and below it was a gray MP3 bar. I played the song and it was laughably bad. I legit guffawed, like wow this girl is never going anywhere. I hear no talent here.
Joke is clearly on me, because as we can see from this email too, Scott has stopped at absolutely nothing. If he talked MY ear off as a random server, imagine what he has done to everyone else. People probably have given in a lot out of annoyance and because he has the funds. That’s my only guess. He won’t take no for an answer and clearly saves money by maybe not really paying anyone for their services.
I can’t even tell you how shocking it has been for me to witness the rise of Taylor like this after that experience.
Not to mention, I then met her brother years later in LA when I lived there around 2018 or so. He and I matched on Raya, a members only dating app. He said he was intrigued because I was from the area they always went to as a child. We met up at a restaurant in Laurel Canyon and wow was it an awkward date. First of all, he was a shell of a human. He had ballooned in size from his photos and clearly had some eating issues. He was super weird around what he was eating and drinking. It seems he really lives under the shadow of his sister, which is evident from Scott’s email too. When I asked what he did, he said acting, but seems like he didn’t have anything going on. When I asked what he liked to do he said play tennis. I said oh cool where do you go in town? And he awkwardly said his sister’s house 😂 (we didn’t discuss her at all). He also confided in me that his parents are rascist towards Mexicans? 🧐 We actually walked back to his house since it was around the corner and we played N64 (Mario Kart) and listened to the Annie Musical record on vinyl since he had it on display. He told me his sister had bought him his house. It was really nice - definitely a multi-million dollar home. We actually randomly kissed and then it was 11 pm so I said I needed to head back. I ordered an Uber and we never spoke again 😂 I thought maybe it was weird karma since he paid for dinner and his Dad owed me hahaha.
Needless to say, it was sad to see how lacking in identity he seemed. It stuck out to me how in the email Scott mentioned they were giving Taylor her estate early, but not Austin. The way Scott has treated Austin vs Taylor I think has had detrimental effects.
I’ve been saying these things about Scott for years, so I’m glad to finally see some further proof!! She was 100% created by him. I’m sure it will even have detrimental effects on her in a more serious way in the future.

2024.06.02 10:45 Ihavetype2onsettired Just me or are you guys getting one shot repeatedly

I just keep getting oneshot, things like Rahyeh's AOE VFX not lining up with the actual killzone, Lagon P2 waves chunking through half my ward, a random zerricks hand gets a single melee attack off, soulfire bastion in general, it's just rough. I hit the softcap on all resistances, but even then I'm still getting oneshot like crazy to abilities with 0.5-1 second telegraphs or just oneshot by trash. The arena boss spear one shot me, I couldn't even see him around the skeletons.
I'm at a point where I have to run higher tier dungeons or high corruption monoliths to get any upgrades, but can never finish them because of a oneshot mechanic somewhere. Resistances feel pointless, because it's all oneshot level damage at this point, feels like Diablo 3. The oneshot mechanics on bosses are rough, like Gaspar's circle of elemental damage lines moves too fast, and I can only profane veil one and transplant another. Tank one, there's my entire ward. Now it's either DPS to get the ward back or dodge the next ability and wait for WPS to come in. Rahyeh is just Rahyeh, it's a stat check for movement speed, didn't bring enough then your void resistance is irrelevant because you can still take damage during transplant. I have to cheese Lagon every time and weave between waves and add auto attacks. Cremorus feels like playing guitar hero and if you mess up the shield or don't dodge the ability that homes you die, if you manage to get through the dungeon in the first place.. It's mainly the heavily oneshot mechanic bosses that require dodging I'm just having issues with. Like the Titan has one oneshot mechanic, it's telegraphed, it always hits the left side first. His heart has a couple but they're all small AoEs. That's doable. Argentus has a few, but they're dodgeable. How do you dodge attacks half the size of the arena, or 3 seperate waves per second, or the moving pie chart of death the covers the entire arena, or riddle me this how do you dodge the goddamn floor?
The difficulty jump is also bit much. I cleared all the quest monoliths average of 15-20 levels below enemies with no difficulty, cleared T2 everything at about level 80, but T3 SFB and 100 corruption monoliths is just crazy damage and it feels like I got softlocked. I kill things just fine, but I kid you not on a waves echo 15 archers spawned, all shot me at once and it went through 3k ward and 1k hp in a frame. Regardless of 75% physical resist. And a shield. And a base 7% dodge chance. No ailments on me, just dead. Arrows aren't exactly telegraphed very well, and I'm not sure you can even dodge them in this game.
I took CoF, and all my prophecies that would give upgrades are for things that I can't do. I'd love unique relics from Tier 4 dungeons, but I can't even make it to Cremorus on Tier 3, some eye snipes me or someone throws a big ass boulder I can't dodge because of mob density and the grid map.
I used to clear GR150s, dodging mob auto attacks is doable, dodging badly telegraphed abilities is doable, but the damage in this game just seems stupid high, there's no deathsave and there's just a massive difficulty spike between finishing quest monoliths and endgame that the game does not prepare you gear-wise for at all. It feels like the game said "go run stuff way below your gear level to get the occasional minute upgrade, or do stuff leagues above it on the off chance you get lucky to scrape by and get better gear." Or the game telling me I should've went merchants guild and sold this 3lp Ladle and just bought the entire BiS torment gear.
I am just a bit salty and wanted to vent, but anybody else having issues with this game specifically? Or just really hate soulfire bastion? Never been oneshot this much in an ARPG ever.

Complete beginner here, never danced a day in my life, nor have i really thought about dancing in general before. Lately tho some of Zanoujis vids have been popping up on my tiktok and youtube, and i like what he does, so i figured i might as well try (i need to build some leg muscle anyways). I think im interested in learning the cutting shapes style, as well as some hiphop/leaning into breakdance type stuff, a lot of what he does on his socials, but is it enough to jist turn on some music and start practicing some of his tutorials? something about that feels to me like trying to learn to play guitar by playing guitar hero or something, but am i just overcomplicating it?

I recently picked up a Wii guitar to play guitar games. I bought a retrocultmods V2 adapter along with it and it works perfectly with RockBand on my PS5. It also works for Festival, although I have to make it think I’m playing on a keyboard.
I downloaded CloneHero on my Mac a while ago to play gamepad but never got around to actually playing. Now that I’ve got a guitar controller, I came back to it and ran into an issue. The green and orange frets press on their own for a brief second. It happens every other second or so and it’s only those two. Anyone else have a similar problem and figure out a solution?

2024.06.01 21:31 milancosens Help with GH5 PS3 Guitar and PS3 Dongle

Hi guys, just purchased a presumably okay guitar and dongle pre owned on ebay, and the seller says its working.
It's an 805 guitar and 806 receiver, so all seems fine there... but I haven't managed to get it to work.
Dongle has power, and a light etc. So does the guitar, sync button is responsive.
Same on both PS3 and PC, tried to use CloneHero to see if the PS was the issue but...
But for the LIFE of me, cannot get them to sync... Has anyone got any clever ideas as to why this is happening and how is it fixed?
I've seen that Les Paul guitars have capacitor issues, would this be the same for this GH5 PS3 one?
