Swain needs identity and it should be a control drain tank that’s unique playstyle is creating zones of pressure while becoming unkillable the more he learns about you in combat.
Passive: get rid of Swains hp stacking altogether. New passive: Whenever swain drains HP from an enemy with Q or R he learns their secrets, when this bar fills up Swain gains 2-5% (scaling with level) damage reduction which lasts until end of combat for a maximum of 20-50% dmg reduction, symbolized as soul shards.
The idea with the passive change is that Swain remains mid-close range, his identity is to drain tank and he needs survivability for that. The counter to swain should always be reset combat, the longer a fight goes the more Swain learns and the harder he is to kill cause he knows your tricks. This also counts for lane. The way i see this stacking is one complete cast of Q activates it and each tick of R is 25% per champ, so if you drain 3 champs in 1.25 seconds you got 4% dmg reduction, stacking fast in about 6 seconds in combat in a teamfight you should be at about 20% dmg reduction mid game. Swains strength is sustain not burst. This only works with Q chabge.
Q: Swains current Q is the most boring part of his kit and needs a change.
Q: Swain places out a demonic hand that drains the life of a target within an area prioritizing enemy champions. Swain can have up to two hands out at any time. These last for 4 seconds. This is the new playstyle I propose. Swain will not have good dmg unless he locks enemies within his Q.
W: swain summons a demonic eye that lingers for 2 seconds granting vision and slowing targets more the closer they are to the eye. After 2 seconds the eye shatters and every enemy champ within range hit take max %health dmg and gives swain a soul shard (dmg reduction).
E: remains as is but remove the return and pull aspect, send out a hand that explodes on impact snaring all targets hit for 1-2 seconds.
R: remains as is.
That is my suggestion to make swain more unique but close to the parts most like him for now, his control. This Swain i suggest has zero burst but tons of sustain and positioning gameplay, as it should be

Now, I hadn't played him yet back in 13.21, but there's a bug fix in that patch note that reads:

Bug Fix: Attack damage and resistances scaling now properly update dynamically during the buff.

I presume that means his ult started properly converting Jak'Sho's bonus resistances to AD.
However, since at least 14.1 when the item was changed, there's been a bug where he will gain both the AD and the bonus resistances, rather than converting them.
I.e., if you had 100 base armor, and 200 bonus armor before Jak'Sho, outside of ult you would have 360 armor when Jak'Sho activates. What's supposed to happen, is that the 60 bonus is reduced to 9 (-85%) alongside the rest of the reduction, and you gain 15 AD. Putting you at 139 total armor.
Instead, what's happening is you're gaining the 15 AD, and the full 60 bonus armor. Putting you at 190 total armor.
It seems as though he's outperforming where they don't want him to, and they haven't figured out why, so they keep slapping him with nerfs.
This makes the recent change to W during All Out really funny to me. It seemed weak early, but too strong late. So they raised it early and lowered it late. Almost as if there's a certain item he'd have later in the game that would make it seem like he was blocking way more damage than intended.
I want this fixed so he can get some actual adjustments.

After reading lots and lots of questions and answers on this Subreddit, i completely lost my thoughts. I have a good understanding of how investing works, why i should do it, and the power of compounded interest on long term, combined with the ease of an ETF like Iwda. I have a quite complex situation which confuses me a lot when it comes to investing and saving money. I already saw a lot of 'professional' explanations and theories here, so i would like to ask an objective opinion.

This is who I am:

• 24 y/o male, works in as production-and planningcoordinator - net income =-2350 / month + benefits
• i have a girlfriend, we are living together in a house of mine (situation will be explaned below).
• +- 150k in savings, doing nothing on the bank at 0.5 % interest.
• +- 25k in stocks and etf's
• i have 2 houses on my name, 1 i live in myself together with my girlfriend, the other one is the house in which my grandparents are living in ( = vruchtgebruik, have been gifted the house a couple of years ago).
• I don't have any debts and don't have that much common expenses.
• Don't have kids, probably not before i reach 30 as i want to figure out where i will get financially to provide a stable situation for a kid. (girlfriend is fine with it).

I think i'm in a quite well situation given my age, and that's why i want to seize the opportunity as thoughtful as possible.

when i was 19, i started putting 5k in seperate stocks, mainly tech and Uranium as i am a strong believer of nuclear energy. That's doing very well as it's already 18k now.

invested another 5k in iwda last year, which is doing well aswell.

Reason why i am stuck:
I don't know what to do with my cash.
I want to invest some money for long term (10 a 15 years +) I want to invest some for very long term to retire comfy I have the houses, 1 renovated, bungalow from '60, which is now beginning EPC C, so quite efficient for the age. Only large expense for the future: removing asbest roof and replace it with shingles. Note that this house is with our future in mind, to start for the first 10 years or so. My final goal is to renovate the house of my grandparents in the future, to make it as good as possible for the rest of our lives (my girlfriend is fine with the situation, it's beneficial for her too). It's a 'landhuis' on a larnge plot of land. So i guess it will take arround 150k to renovate the house.

The approach i am thinking off:
I invest another 15k in Iwda as lump sum and DCA from now on 300 euro's a month. I keep my own money to live from and to invest When i would ever renovate the house of my grand parents, i could get a loan for renovation purposes and use the bare minimum as downpayment. Then i renovate the house, and will live in it afterwards. The house i live in now is modern, detached , and easy to rent out. I would use the rental income from this property to pay off my loan I got to renovate the other house. I could eventually do a downpayment to make the rental income more than the loan, so I get let's say 200 euro's spare which i could park on a high yield growth savings account. This amount would come in when i have a cost at the property which is rented out. In the meanwhile i still have a filled savings account which keeps all roads open for investing oppertunities or to increase the value of the property i will be living in, in let's say 10 years or so (I hope it takes as long as possible as I love my grand parents, i want them to live as long as possible and stay at home while they can.) Once the renovation loan has been paid, i still have a lot of savings, so has my girlfriend, so in the further future, we could eventually buy an investment property together aswell.

Would you change strategy? Or come in mind with another strategy that could work for me? I am willing to take moderate risk. I don't want to invest all in individual stocks as they are too volatile for me, especially sectorbased like energy. But ETF's, i am fine with. If it crashes, everything crashes, and after a crash, it will climb anyway in the long run.

My goal is not to stop working or so, or to retire at 40, but i want to be able to say 'fuck it' and do something I really really enjoy, even though I would earn half the money. I never want to stress about money. I am quite economically-minded and think a lot before i purchase something expensive. Working 4/5 when i'm around 40 and 3/5 when around 55 would be ideal i think.

My main motivation; based on the lifestyle of my grandfather, i like to walk arround on my property, thinking how beautifyl it is, washing the car on saturday, play with the kids, take them for a ride in a old porsche 911 (passionate about that car since when i was 6, posters all arround my room, till to date haha, that's the life strive for, the life i WANT to work for . not to sit at home at 50 all day long as everyone i know will still work then.

My coworker and I just recently became “friends”. Outside of work he tries to call me & I never pick up as I am someone that needs a warning before getting called. Calls make me anxious. Very anxious. So this is something that bothers him. We sit next to each too. So every times he calls I say “no, you didn’t call me lol. I’ll show you”. I guess this did make them a little sad. I also once did bring up how I don’t like phone calls as they make me really anxious. I told him how I never speak with my family every day/week but like every other weeks because they too know I hate phone calls & most of them hate texting. So we compromised to every other week. My coworker however likes to call me everyday after work. On our ride home. & I hate very much. I am not confrontational so I didn’t know how to tell them straight up to stop calling as often as they do. & I guess they didn’t take the hint as they do this almost every day for the past two months of knowing each other.
Anyways, fast forward to yesterday, the reason why they called me out for being a liar is because the area I sit at. The group there(like three people including him) like to tell each other that I did something that I didn’t & I’d be yelling (you guys are lying etc. like a lot. Because they literally do!) they’ll say thing like (hey John. X said you are cheap etc. & because I am a reactive person I’ll call them out for lying). A new girl started work & I have been telling her how they are liars & don’t believe what they say as they always lie. On Friday, my coworker changed their outfit as they live next to work & someone poured coffee on their shirt & pants. They had black pants on but when they came back, they had blue pants on. The color difference was huge as the blue was like a sky blue/light blue. On my lunch my coworker told the new girl they had changed or something along those lines but the girl said (x said y’all are liars so I don’t believe you. Literally WORD FOR WORD). That pissed my coworker off, they are now saying I have tainted their image & is making them look like a liar at work & that isn’t something they ever want to be associated with. They told the manager about this & the manager called me aside to tell me that I have called them a liar multiple times & they also brought up the fact that I lie about when they call me & that I call a liar more often and that hurts my coworker. Idk how this turned out so big when they do in fact lie about me a lot. I know they do it as a joke since I am a reactive person & it’s fun for them to see me react. But idk how this has turned out this way. The new girl not believing him because I said so is literally not what I want since I told them as a joke too. Like “hehe don’t believe them. They lie”. Idk what to do cause now they aren’t talking to me as I tried to apologize and higher management is getting involved in this.

TL;DR: My coworker and friends like to say things about me that I did not do, which in turn makes me call them liars but a new girl refused to believe my coworker because “I said they are liars” to new coworker and this hurt them. So now management is involved because I am calling my coworkers liars.

TLDR: Nannying is a very hard job. There would probably be a lot more nannies who work as hard as one needs to do this job well if the pay matched the value and difficulty of the work.
I’ve been pretty active in this sub lately because I’ve been feeling unhappy at my job and it helps to have a community. I wrote this a while ago and have been nervous to post it but I think it’s important. I saw a post in nannyemployers asking where all of the “good” nannies have gone and this was the response I was writing until I realised the replies were to be from NP only.. I would post in the nanny employers sub if I weren’t terrified of the response. I know I’m singing to the choir here and I know saying it out loud doesn’t change much. But I am so, so angry, so imma just send it.
As a nanny who has two college degrees, practices Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and RIE, and as someone who has always loved and wanted to work with kids, there simply is not enough money in this career path to stick to it. I personally simply cannot rationalise doing the amount of physical and emotional work that is required for me to do this job as well as I want to for the typical pay, even though I absolutely love it.
For my background, experience, and approach, I am in a severely underpaid position (even when disregarding my qualifications it would still be severely underpaid.) Because of my personal and financial situation at the time of my job search, I did not have the luxury to wait for a unicorn family to offer me the salary I was looking for. I found a family that was a good fit and accepted the position even though I felt it was very much underpaid. I am now in a position where I am continuously battling wanting to work as hard as I can for these kids and this family, and realising I can’t break my back for them while being this underpaid (I mean I literally threw my back out during this job). I’m not someone who breaks a commitment easily but I guess I could move from family to family, waiting to find one who is able to financially match the value of this work, or I could stick it out and get $2/hr raises every year, but I can’t wait 10 years to finally get close to being paid what I know a proper nanny is worth. Yes there certainly are some nanny employers who properly respect this work and are able to financially meet it’s value, but in my experience they are few and far between. I have found that the overwhelming majority of nannies are severely underpaid and overworked.
Nannies are asked to have flexible schedules, work long hours, take on a laundry list of responsibilities, develop personal emotional relationships with children that aren’t theirs while keeping a professional distance, pay for and organise their own continued training, be emotionally and socially engaged with children all day long, and more. But above all, the most important aspect of nannying is managing our stress is such a way that allows us to stay in an executive state of functioning all day every single day. People deeply underestimate and undervalue the amount of hard and constant work it takes to keep oneself in an executive state of functioning day in and day out, especially in a high stress position where you are helping other people regulate their bodies all day on top of yours, AND are constantly sick and tired and being pushed and tested. I think that this ability is what makes the difference in a “good” nanny and is often the most overlooked, misunderstood, and undervalued aspect of the job responsibilities.
I want to be a good nanny, it’s my dream job to be the best nanny there is, and I used to think that I could accept being in an undervalued role because “it takes a village” and I wanted to do my part and this was my passion. But it doesn’t feel good to be undervalued financially and socially, in fact it feels really really bad, and this is why I will no longer be pursuing a career as a nanny. Even if I found my unicorn position, it wouldn’t change the fact that the overwhelming majority of my nanny peers are still underpaid and undervalued, and that doesn’t feel good. It makes me want to leave, and I think all of the other underpaid nannies should leave too. (We need a union or something, is this a thing?)
The market is oversaturated and undervalued. Not everyone needs a nanny now that quarantine is over (a full-time nanny, not babysitter or after school care). I have both worked at a preschool and as a nanny and I have found that a setting with multiple children of similar age is far better developmentally for a child than spending most of their time with a single adult and a sibling or two, even for young babies. I think a healthy mix of a daycare setting and family time at home is probably best but can be the most difficult to achieve with the current work culture. This is no one’s fault, the overworking culture is a burden of late stage capitalism that we all face. However, it is the burden of the parents to solve their work/life balance. This is a very big part of what one signs up for when becoming a parent. It is not the burden of the nanny to work more for less or the children to miss being with their parents (I’d say two doctor NP are pretty much the only ones who’d get a pass here).
It’s no one person’s fault that nannies are financially undervalued, the value of personal childcare and domestic work has a long saturated history fraught with misogyny and racism. Have you compared the average wage of a plumber (male dominated domestic work) to that of a nanny (female dominated domestic work)? And don’t tell me plumbing requires more training or is harder than nannying, I assure you they are of comparable difficulty especially considering there’s no step by step instructions on YouTube for nannying. (And if you do consider plumbing to be that much hard than nannying, what do you think gives you that perception? I mean as a parent, one should know that nannying absolutely is not just playing with kids all day, even if that’s all you ask your nanny to do. What subconscious bias could be giving you the perception that bringing up children is less difficult and of less value than screwing pipes together? Have you seen The Help? Don’t answer, just think.)
Plumbers make average $28/hr in the states, mechanics $26, for nannies it’s $20 (and that’s being generous). That’s a ¢70 on the dollar comparison. It is time we all realise that nannying is an underpaid and undervalued role and work to change that. If the wage being offered across the board better matched the value of the work, I think one would find a lot more serious nannies and a lot more current nannies taking the job more seriously.
I didn’t get it at first, why so many nannies at the park seemed so burnt out and disinterested in the kids. Oh boy do I get it now. I want nothing more than to do my best in this role, but in the past few months after nearly being stiffed by NP, not receiving a bonus from them when I really thought I would, and overall realising I am being taken advantage of and am a human mine to them, I have realised that I can no longer put my all into this job for my own health and sanity. Being properly compensated is the primary motivating aspect of all work especially in the society we are a part of. After loosing my sense of respect from NP, I’ve lost most of the non-financial motivation I started out with and am left with what little motivation my petite pay check gives me, and the kids can tell.
Since my fallout with NP, I have pulled back emotionally from the kids. I’m not mean and I am still doing every responsibility in my contract to the letter (and then some still), but I am no longer as emotionally available to them as I was. I am shorter and more curt with them, I don’t take as much time with them to sit and talk about every feeling they have, and I’m not working as hard to help them break the bad habits NP give them that NP specifically ask me to break (one example - NP want NK to walk everywhere with me but then always use the stroller with NP and every time we go out it’s a fight to use the stroller or not. Guess who’s been using the stroller far more often lately). Anyway, the past week my NK 3f has been quietly crying before her nap and I’m sure it’s because she’s felt me pull away from her. It’s breaking my heart and I’ve been trying to give her extra cuddles, but I have to protect myself first now. This is a job and these aren’t my kids and I can no longer rationalise putting them first emotionally especially considering I am burnt TF out, torn down, and left feeling used up and tossed aside without any recognition or proper thanks for NP.
I don’t know what the perfect number is, the number I would say many NP would probably think is too high, and maybe they’re not looking for a nanny who works as hard as I and others do. But I can tell you that $17/hr before taxes in a VHCOL area does not even come CLOSE. I think we can all easily recognise that the financial value of this job needs to better match the value of the work, in general and across the board. We’re talking about the people caring for and raising the future generations here, I mean how is this not the most coveted role in our society?
This is my Roman Empire and I will die on this hill every. single. time.

Over a year ago, I was going through a particularly stressful time and went to my neurologist concerned that I was possibly having Medication Adaption Headaches (MAH aka Medication Overuse Headaches aka Rebound Headaches) or would develop them.
I was having a migraine or headache almost daily. I had been cycling through pain meds to avoid using too much of the same thing and too many triptans mistakenly thinking that this would keep me safe.
My neurologist didn't take any time to discuss why I thought I might be having MAH or what should be done if I was already having them. He did give me the prescription for Aimovig that I asked for, but also a recommendation and prescription for Panadol migraine (same as Excedrin migraine) which I had never taken before. The prescription wasn’t needed to get the Panadol migraine, but it was needed to have it reimbursed by my insurance. I thought because it is OTC in the US (which is where I'm from) that it would be better (again mistakenly) than taking so many triptans.
The aimovig was like putting a bandaid on a gash that needed stitches. I made it another year before I had an absolutely horrible flare-up about 60 days ago that led me to do my own research because my neurologist had failed me horribly and I decided it was most definitely MAH and I needed to detox.
The Detox
I quit taking all pain OTC pain meds and triptans for 60 days (as is recommended in most treatment guides). It took me roughly 9 days to have a noticeable drop in my migraines back to episodic. My migraines have lessened in severity and length over the last 60 days. Though the first week or so was the most challenging to get through, I also had hormonal migraines that were tough. The few other non-hormonal migraines I had later in the 60 days, I was able to clearly identify triggers for. This hadn’t been the case for me in the past. I've also now been able to abort a hormonal migraine with other methods listed here.
Other Options for Pain Relief
(for any meds or supplements always consult your doctor)
Ginger is a great natural painkiller. There is some BS study that says it is as effective as sumatriptan, it most definitely isn't and I'm not going to try to sell it as that, but I would say it is probably as effective as an NSAID. Unfortunately, I’m unable to get GCRP inhibitors where I am so I didn’t have other migraine abortive options, just this.
Benadryl (note: this is the brand name in US & CA, it’s different in Europe) helps me with migraine pain during an attack (sometimes even helps avoid an attack).
A TENS unit was very helpful with migraine pain, but also with cramps during my 60 day detox and I’ll definitely continue using it going forward.
Migraine Cap was especially helpful after the migraine to help with the residual soreness.
Migraine Relief Nasal Inhaler, hot showers, decongestant meds, and decongestant nasal spray* help me because nasal congestion is a major symptom for me. When the congestion is worse, the pain is worse. If I can relieve some congestion, I can also relieve some pain. So I use these as needed depending on the severity of the congestion.
*It is important to note that decongestant nasal sprays can cause rebound congestion if used frequently, follow dosage and warnings on the label.
Myofascial Release & dry needling - this isn’t so much for migraine pain, but it helps me manage back and neck pain that contributes to my migraines and helps me with pain management overall.
The Pain Relief Options That I Wish I Could Have Used or Tried
Balms and patches that you put on your forehead- personally my skin is too sensitive for it, I have tried in the past and it just makes my skin burn (but so does most sunscreen when applied to my face). I’m mentioning these because I think they are a great option for some people and as I was looking through this sub for more ideas of what I could use, they are something that I saw repeatedly that I wish my skin would allow me to use.
Celafy, Nerivio, and Relivion all looked like interesting devices, but sadly aren’t available where I am.
Heated eye massager also looked very appealing and should have been available, but the wrong item was delivered when I tried ordering it and I didn’t feel like trying my luck again. I will definitely get one when I go to the US.
GCRP-inhibitors - these aren’t available where I am so I didn’t have the option to use these as abortives while detoxing from pain meds. I definitely would like the option to be able to use these as abortives for migraines. One study did note they could cause MAH (this is listed below and linked) but there's no good research regarding this as they are so new. I just feel obligated to mention this.
About MAH
Please educate yourself. I have included links to sources. Consult your doctor if you think you might have MAH and advocate for treatment.

• Being less physical activity (defined as less than 3 hours of hard physical activity per week)
• Smoking
• Mood disorders
• OCD
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Substance-related disorders
• Cutaneous allodynia 7 (Cutaneous allodynia (CA) is defined as pain resulting from application of a non-noxious stimulus to normal skin)

8 Withdrawal treatment does not only reduce the headache attacks, but also improves responsiveness to acute or prophylactic drugs. Withdrawal symptoms normally last between 2 to 10 days, and do not persist longer than 4 weeks.
Going Forward
I have a number of MAH risk factors including migraines, other chronic pain, anxiety, family history of substance-related disorders, being less physical activity (especially during the time that the stressful situation was happening), and cutaneous allodynia. Had I known about all of these risk factors and that alternating meds would not protect me from MAH, I would have done things very differently. I’ll have to be very careful to not develop MAH again, and actually am thinking of extending my detox because of my risk factors and some concerning statistics regarding allodynia in particular. For now I'm going to try to continue managing my pain with other methods while I can comfortably. Actually just last night I had a hormonal migraine that I managed to abort with a combination of things I listed here that just 2 months ago it would have been at least a level 4 with triptans.
When I do start using pain meds again, I’ll definitely be tracking meds more carefully and adhering to a strict 10 day max per month for OTCs plus triptans. I’ve made an annual tracker that you can print with the maximum days noted for reference.
To the Mods - I’ve noticed many posts with discussion related to MAH being removed. I’ve instructed others to consult their doctor thereby trying to adhere to the sub rules, please let me know if there is something else that might need to be adjusted in order to adhere to the rules.

It is commonly believed that stacking mitigation abilities is bad because they offer less value as you use multiple at the same time. The reason for this would be that mitigation stacks multiplicatively. Meaning that if you have a 30% mitigation active, the damage you take is multiplied by 0.7, if you have a 20% mitigation active the damage you take is multiplied by 0.8. But if you use both of them at the same time the damage you take is multiplied by both 0.7 and 0.8 = 0.56. So you take 44% reduced damage instead of the 50% you would get if they would stack additively. Combined they reduce less damage than they would if they were both used seperately.
If that is true then don't they actually DO offer diminishing returns?
When you look at single instances of damage that you will survive regardless, such as tank busters, they do infact offer less value when combined. However if there is nothing else to use them on then you should probably use them anyway, as leaving them unused is the worst value you can get. I would still not label this as diminishing returns, however. To me diminishing returns would indicate that the actual damage multipliers would change rather than that they're stacked multiplicatively.
But when it comes to the total amount of pre-mitigated damage you can take before you die, something interesting happens. For this example, assume a tank has 100.000 HP and takes 1000 damage per hit without mitigation. Below is a table that shows how many hits the tank can take before dying.

As you can see, the 20% mit allows you to take 25 more hits, the 30% mit allows you to take 42.86 more hits, but together they allow you to take 78.57 more hits, which is greater than the sum of 25 and 42.86. This is not only limited to taking many small hits, it works the same way for the highest possible amount of damage you can take from a tankbuster before dying. And the more you reduce your damage taken the more significant healing becomes. Smaller healing over time like Kardia, Aurora, Holy Sheltron and such will keep you alive by themselves if you have enough damage reduction.
Why does it work this way?
Simply put, the higher your current damage reduction is the more significant any further reduction will be to the amount of pre-mitigated damage you can take. If you have no mitigation active and gain 10% then you take 10% less damage. If you have 50% mitigation active and another 10% you take 20% less damage than before. If you have 85% mitigation and gain another 10% you take 67% less damage than before.
So how to use them efficiently?
Despite them not offering diminishing returns you should still not use them all at once of course. However the least effective mitigation is the mitigation you leave unused. If you know you won't need more mits after the next pack of mobs you can use 2 or 3 at the same time. Ideally you would spread it out in a way that you don't leave any unused but don't need to tank any serious damage without mitigation either. This can be a bit of a learning experience.
Tl;dr
When you stack muliple mitigations, each one reduces less damage than if you were to use them seperately. However when it comes to the amount of damage you survive, multiple mitigations actually amplify each other and provide an exponential increase to your survivability. Mitigate responsibly in a way that you won't run out when you need it but don't be scared to have multiple running at once if the situation calls for it.
\Tanks always have 20% mitigation active through their level 1 tank trait, and have more defense and magic defense. This does not really change anything for the math posted here as these are always active. But the conclusion of this post also applies: any mitigation on a tank will reduce less damage than the same mitigation will for a DPS or healer. But it also increases the total amount of damage monsters will need to do to kill tanks by more than the damage needed to kill a DPS or a healer.*

Recently after i did my workout I decided to compare my progress today with my previous workout and my current workout was almost essentially the same with the previous and for some I did less reps than before. I don't know why I'm possibly getting weaker or staying stagnant. I have been using the ideal routine for about nearly a year and I've definetely made progress on some muscles and i feel I've made little to none progress. I'm not sure if its because my rest days aren't long enough, if I'm not eating enough or if I'm not working out intensely enough.

Following the ideal routine's recommendation, I take 4 days rest sometimes 5 or 6 depending if I'm busy and have something so I cant go to the gym

when it comes to diet I try to eat as much as possible but sometimes, actually quite a lot I struggle to eat enough for a calorie surplus. I'm not even sure if I am at a calorie surplus, I live in a very east Asian household and the foods I eat are Asian foods that are generally not high in calories, most of my calories generally comes from rice + some food with meats, or Asian foods such as shomai. Previously, I've tried to record my meals with MyFitnesspal by weighing my foods and putting it in to see how many calories I'm getting. But my parents don't like me doing that and keep telling me to "just eat enough" they don't like that I'm trying to bulk, especially my mum who worries a lot that I'll get fat and repeatedly keeps asking me "check if you have a double chin" ,"you're not going to have a jawline" and "you're going to get a belly." I admit sometimes just to get her to stop I will try to reduce my portions. They keep repeating to me that "you'll grow stronger eventually." but I don't feel like I'm growing stronger, when I compare my progress to my friends I see their lifts growing big, I only manage to lift around half their weights, looking at what I've accomplished really bums me out seeing that. It's really conflicting when my parents keep telling me I eat too much and I'm getting fat but when I'm with my friends who also lift they tell me I'm literally a skeleton and have made no changes to my body or basically I'm still skinny. Personally I think I'm more on the skinny side and am weak. I've tried explaining to my parents you need a calorie surplus to build muscle, but they don't listen and insist ill just build muscle by eating maintainence to caloric deficit amounts. They don't exactly like me and the gym because they believe I'll become shorter by going to the gym. Also they think me living a Western lifestyle will lead to me dying sooner in comparison to the Eastern Asian lifestyle. Should I try to go back to counting calories to ensure i'm getting enough calories?

when calculating the amount of calories I think the amount needed for a small 200-300 calorie surplus would be around 2800 calories. This is because I walk to school and back for around 15 minutes to and back and I also do a bunch of walking at school, on my phone which calculates my steps I average around 8,000-10,000 steps and when I go to the gym i walk around 20 minutes to and back + taking the train and my steps easily reach 20,000.
Workout Intensity
I try as much to go as hard as I can, when doing my sets at the start I do 2 sets of warms up that progressively get close to my hardest lift. Then on the 3rd or 4th set I do my final set and push as hard as I can. Sometimes I doubt if I've given it my all so I do a drop set and reduce the weight by a little bit and keep going until I really can move the weight, Ill try and push the weight to move, at this point I usually am able to move the weight a little bit around 25-50% of a rep but am unable to finish this I try twice and then If I really can't I move on to the next exercise. After I finish my workout I feel like I could've done more but when I think about what I did I think I couldn't have done more. For example when I was doing my squats, It was quite intense where I was heavily breathing and took small pauses after every rep, when I finished my set I felt like I should've been able to do 2 or maybe 3 more reps, but I was feeling a tiny bit lightheaded and had to sit down. Whenever I'm leaving the gym this doubt plagues me. I noticed when doing my workouts my biggest problem is my hands/ fingers being unable to bear the weight, so when i'm doing my set my hands give up earlier than the actual muscles being targetted.

Just so this is out there though, I have picture and video evidence saved of the NCO being broken by him and witnesses also. (Just a precaution I took because I don't even feel safe in my own house because of him.) I'd really prefer not to take your petty highschool drama that far. I have bigger things to worry about. Also believe it or not, I don't think he deserves to sit and do jail time over something so stupid.
Y'all think you have secrets that'll destroy me? Not when I've owned up to my mistakes and already started accepting the consequences for them. Can y'all say the same for yourselves?
I wanna move on with my life, without either of you in it. Seriously find someone/something else to waste your time on. It's sad that the past can't be left in the past for y'all.

Ok so first things first, I am well acquainted with abuse and abusers, grew up in a very abusive family, except for s*xual abuse I went through everything else with them, of course this led me to see abuse as normal behavior, most kids bullied me, some close friends took advantage of my spineless behavior, and later on, I had abusive romantic partners.
Not all of them were, of course, but the ones that were I can think back and see the red flags I missed, eventually I went to therapy and kind of learned how to see them better, all that stuff.
Then comes my last ex. He was, well, great. He was attentive, kind, generous, his family welcomed me as a new addition from the first day, it all seemed too good to be true. The thing is, with other abusers, this façade would soon collapse, they weren't able to sustain it for long, but my ex seemed to really be like this, the only shady thing I can think of his past self it that he's always been very secretive about his emotions and repressed them way too much.
After about a year and a half of dating, several things happened, quarantine was one of them, my mental health decline was the other. I tried meds for the first time, it backfired and left me su*cidal for months, I had agoraphobia and went back to being terrified of people. That's when the silent treatment and refusing to get intimate with me and all the arguing began. His point was that he was okay with supporting me with my mental health stuff, as long as it got better and not worse, I tried to explain to him that sometimes things do get worse and there's nothing I can possibly do about it, he would get angrier and say that either I got "cured" or he would leave.
You can imagine how fragile I was back then, terrified of my friends,of going outside, I went back to my mom's house because of covid and had to deal with her abuse again, he felt like the only person I could trust. Even if I knew everything he was saying about mental illnesses was plain wrong, I chose to stick with him because he genuinely sounded like he wanted the best for me.
But everything only got worse, of course, his own life got harder, he was a sheltered kid that never worked or lived on his own, I on the other hand have been working ever since I was 17, we moved in together and you guessed it, it got even worse.
He was doing an unpaid internship where he would mostly observe others work instead of doing something himself, I worked part time because I wanted a little break from working 7am to 4pm for so long, so he was basically living off me and his parents, I also did most of the housework because he'd be there for so long, he didn't even have to, but he was there all day. Not only he never thanked me but he would belittle me for working part time and criticized my cooking, he was a picky eater and was used to his mom adapting to him so I had no idea this was a thing, he hated all veggies and everything that wasn't basically soup or meat and rice/potatoes. We both got folic acid deficiency from this btw, so I'm not exaggerating.
At some point my brain just gave up, I was so incredibly exhausted all the time, physically and mentally. Thank goodness I had the decision to go on a solo vacation with friends after being isolated for years and that's when I realized how badly I was being treated, by being around people who didn't treat me badly. This was last summer, as soon as I got home, the first thing I did was trying to talk to him, and knowing he wouldn't be reasonable, I knew I would have to leave him.
At this point we hadn't gotten intimate in over a year, he refused sleeping with me and would only talk to me to berate me. We argued very often, he was angry all the time, I was on edge all the time, I constantly had panic and anxiety attacks, he would treat me specially bad during these, and when I begged him for a hug sometimes he even hit me.
This was almost a year ago and I'm still broken. My memory is broken, my cognitive functions are half there, I am numb most days, can't feel a thing, not good nor bad, just can't feel, no matter what I do. I am incredibly depressed and don't have the will to do anything. I found someone great who is supportive and amazing in more ways than I can count, found great friends and rekindled friendships I left unattended because of my ex, and still I can't be there for them, not really, because I am not really here most of the time, went to therapy but can't yet afford trying EMDR (will be able soon, after I move from here) and I can't learn anything more from my therapist, it's also expensive. I quit my job and am living off my savings and unemployment, went back to one of my hobbies he used to belittle and criticize so much, I've been hired for collaborations right away and I am in several projects and I can't give my all and feel like I am disappointing people and most importantly myself all the time.
I miss the old me so bad, the one that's trapped beneath this impenetrable armor, and even though things have gotten kind of better, I hate being this fragile, quiet, soft person, when I used to be the polar opposite, I have nothing against quiet and soft people, I love them, it just feels wrong for me.
It took me a lot of work but before dating this idiot for almost 5 years, I got to be this extroverted, fun and warm person that had a million friends and was incredibly energetic, I used to be super physically active, went to a lot of social events, I had so many hobbies and was starting to carve wood. He took it all, and I have no idea how.
As I said at the start of this post, abuse is my whole life. No matter how much my family told me I sucked, they never took the fun out of things for me, if anything, it gave me that spark, that "I'll do what I want!" inner Cartman. No matter how much I was bullied or belittled by others, it never broke me, I was pretty much used to it. But this guy did.
Whenever I talk about toxic relationships with friends or people I meet, it's always kind of the same, "oh we were not compatible at all and refused to accept it haha" or "they were abusive from the start I just didn't know how abuse worked!" but I haven't found someone that went through the same thing as me, someone who's ex was perfect and then became abusive and disgusting, I left a lot out of it for the sake of brevity but his political views and overall morality changed a lot during all this.
I don't know how coherent this is, kinda need to vent , thanks to whoever read it at all, good luck with your own struggles ♥

Clipping Artefacts in Highlights (Guitar) whenever ANY adjustment is made in the HDR nodes - Notice the Waveform shows the artefact (ONLY WHEN PLAYING)

Pretty new to color grading - just a hobbyist really. Watched a fair share of tutorials to practice different workflows, but I keep finding this issue randomly appearing in my work from time to time.
I'm not sure EXACTLY what this is - but the factors involved seemed to only be:

1. Active playing timeline preview
2. HDR Wheel adjustments in Node flow

This issue doesn't seem to appear in the exports or when paused but only when playing and not in ALL footage.
What's weirdest to me is, you can see me adjust the Black exposure in the video yet even a 0.01 change immediately brings back this highlight artefact - which makes me think its a bug... Unless its because my footage isn't technically HDR?
But my assumption of these wheels is basically just "More Precise" primary wheels - am i wrong in thinking that?
It may be an issue with my color spaces/profiles but because its not actually in my export im guessing just a Davinci Bug?

Just to be extra clear during the video, I'm waving my mouse over the problem area, I toggle the HDCurve node on and off to show how the issue is linked to this area specifically. I create another node to replace the HDCurve and show how any mods in the HDR Wheels causes this artefact.

Hi i 30f have been with my boyfriend 35m for 2 years the only issue we currently have is the fact that he shares a dog with his ex. He was with his ex for 6 years lived together and had a dog together , this was about 2 years before we became an item ourselves. The relationship ended on mutual terms, but they currently share custody of their dog . I did not have an issue about this till recently as i have been patient about it , he currently takes the the dog all the time and she takes him whenever she feels like it, w hich is all fine but when she wants to take him, she asks for him at bad times and when we have plans ourselves as a couple and we have to change our plans to accommodate her , i have expressed to my boyfriend that they do need a better schedule in place so that its fair , but my main concern is in the long run if we are still together in the future will this always be the arrangement, or will one person have full time care of the dog and no contact . Just for a bit extra i was previously in a relationship of 6 years we planned to have a home together and build a life but my ex cheated on me with an ex. This completely broke me and i'm still healing. My now boyfriend is the best to me, so caring and kind and gives me the time i need we are both active and enjoy going to events together, as we both have the same interests and we both work hard at our jobs and work in similar fields. i'm just afraid the contact between him and his ex will grow again, i dont think i could go through that trauma and heartache again as i was so heartbroken . I fear our relationship will never be how i imagined I always dreamed of a relationship where its just the two of us no contact of any sort from previous partners, but i cant address this fully without sounding controlling .
