This sounds like a fantasy, but it’s actually reality in the streets of Montgomery County, MD. This is the life of a rich crackhead named Amy.

And it was through LP that I met some friends who introduced me to a nigga named Swervy.
You see them white folks love to drink beer and smoke weed at parks, so one day I’m meeting up wit one of my good men, Ju. Ju is the typical school shooter typa fella, so it’s no surprise what I saw when I linked up with him at the spot. With him was this long haired European foreign exchange motherfucker whose name I forgot, and this bearded Eastern European nigga named Swervy, and he was wildin the fuck out. Mind you I’m from the projects, and all these bathesda niggas I’m meeting are rich ass motherfuckers who live in multi million dollar mansions. Keep in mind these cats may be rich, but everybody out bathesda is rich so these are basically the rejects. Pretty much the closest thing to a street nigga you can find out there.
As I’m getting introduced to some of these cats, Swervy pulls out a syringe. So I ask “Man wtf is this man doing,” “He’s shooting up fent” casually says Ju. That was the first time I ever witnessed someone shooting up a drug, and it wouldn’t be the last. Swervy would eventually become Amy’s boyfriend. And he was quite the yapper, he’s one of those motherfuckers who peaked in high school, and now he’s just watching his life come spiraling down, at least that is until he meets Amy…
In this meet up I learn a lot about Swervy. He was basically a kingpin at the age of 16-17. He would get shipments of 10’s of thousands of Xanax bars and sell them like hotdogs at a baseball game. These weren’t your regular junkies, these are the children of senators, buisness owners and lawyers. So you didn’t have to worry about a junkie saying he’ll pay you back, money was nothing to these crazy ass white folks. In the midst of all this yapping, I hear something that caught my attention.
“Yea so basically my cousins got like seven pounds of weed and 500gs of thc wax that they’ll give me if I can pick it up, it’s all the way in Arizona” Says Swervy.

Now driving cross country with pounds of weed and concentrate was risky, but shit I’d give my left nutsack for that kind of opportunity. And I might as well have, because a week later I was on my way to Tucson, with this Russian speaking drug addict I had just met the other day. Mind you I’m driving around in a red Lancer, with paper Vermont tags that I had printed online. I might as well Have went up to the police station and asked any of them if they wanted to buy drugs. My young naive dumbass didn’t realize the risk, all I was thinking about was 🤑🤑🤑 cha Ching!

But she had her own two bedroom condo with a view of Sugarloaf mountain, a Pomeranian dog(which Swervy fucking hated), and a new jeep. So regardless I was impressed this crackhead motherfucker managed to bag her. So I asked him “Where did you find this shawty?” “At a hookah lounge in Rockville” he told me. That’s right folks, a fucking hookah lounge. Boi when I tell you after that, I was hitting up hookah spots like I had season tickets!
So I’m hanging out with them a lot now basically third wheeling, but Germantown was a long ass motherfucking drive, and I lived at the borderline to DC so I would even spend some nights in their guest bedroom. This Amy chick had parents that paid for her gas money and food, they had a fireplace and a balcony. And I can enjoy the comfort of all this as long as I occasionally bring some weed to smoke. And me I’m not one of those leeching ass bums, so the only time I’m hanging out with them is when I’m invited. And I got invited a lot, probably because Amy’s a bit cuukoo and Swervy had either robbed or scared off all his friends from Bathesda. He wanted someone to give him a break from her, a bro he can drink a beer with. So I would often times accompany them. One time we were at Buffalo Wild Wings, and as I sit across from both of them Amy begins playing footsies with me under the table. Of course I play it cool. I had no interest in her, mainly because Swervy hits raw and takes hepatitis medication, also having witnessed this man hold a bunch of homeless niggas at gunpoint in broad day light after I lost my phone at this gas station in Arizona. I can only imagine how he would react if he found out I smashed his girl.
A lot of the times I hung out with them, me and Swervy would talk about Amy. You see he’s not the type to hold back certain information, and as he’s telling me about his life and relationship that’s when it hit me. A nigga like me grew up all my life, with the world constantly kicking my ass and in a whole different realm of this life shit, you got these two rich kids who fucked up their life so much with so little consequences it became a culture shock to me. Me I caught a case and felt like my life was over, these two white people are disfunctional jobless drug addicts and they’re living the life I could only dream of having with years of hard work. I began to question the world, how many are there like this? Was my life a joke? I didn’t know where I was going hanging out with them, but if I couldn’t live the good life, I could at least witness it from the front row. I learned one thing about their relationship, Amy was basically getting old and low on options, and her parents supported her. Why? Because she’s not running around getting dicked down by a bunch of drug dealing black men anymore. Here they see this young white man, who’s also Eastern European who makes their highly mentally damaged daughter feel secure. And Swervy could win an Oscar, I mean what a fucking performance! One second he goes from Angus Cloud on Euphoria, the next a good suburban white kid the second he meets her parents. In fact he had convinced them that he was such a good man, even went to family gatherings and all, that they decided, let’s just buy them a full blown house.
That’s right, a FULL FUCKING HOUSE. I’m talking about a three story townhouse in Germantown, with a fully furnished basement, a patio, a balcony, a grill, 4 bedrooms, a 70 inch television, a paid off brand new fully insured jeep, they’re talking about trips to Italy. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Fool, are we living in a simulation? I couldn’t fucking believe my eyes, Swervy had pulled off the ultimate finesse. He convinced this rich family that he was the one for their daughter. And the most hilarious thing about it is that he was no better than a crackhead heroin junkie you can find panhandling for money on the street. I couldn’t even be envious, no instead I had felt something inside of me, this sort of toxic motivation. I learned that you didn’t have to work hard in this life, you didn’t have to earn your living, no instead one day God can just drop this lonely damaged woman who’s family is fucking loaded right on your fucking lap. He was even talking about marrying her and having her kids. In fact he tried, but see he had a problem. His sailors couldn’t fucking swim. Maybe it was all the crack, cocaine and heroine. He was having trouble producing fertile sperm, and Amy was running out of time! And that was the peak of their relationship. He was this close to closing the deal, but when it was game time he fell short. All it is now is one of those memories in your head that’ll have you like “damn, what if…” almost like when you reminisce on a football game thinking about how things could’ve been different if that one play went right.
Look I’ll be honest, I sugarcoated a lot of things. They may have lived in a world of handouts, but that relationship was more toxic than a nuclear wasteland. There’s a lot of fucked up details that I’m choosing to leave out, the psychical and mental abuse from both sides, the drug use. He was a psychopath and she was controlling and halfway demented. There’s a saying “opposites attract” and these two motherfuckers were far from it. They were two trains headed on a full on collision, so it was only a matter of time before disaster struck, and boy did it strike. Within a year I had witnessed a once fun relationship, become episodes of Shameless. At one point we fell off, I don’t remember exactly why, probably because I was tired of constantly being involved in their nasty games, and once again I distanced myself from Swervy.
The last I heard of Amy, she had kicked Swervy out the house and he caught her giving the sloppy toppy at a local park to 3 guys. Some hoodlum niggas, and a skater dude with a face tatt. The last time I seen Swervy he was arms dealing and one day pulled out an AR-15 on me and threatened to shoot me. I heard he’s now locked up currently awaiting trial because he broke into her home. I have a feeling one day I’ll see him on the news with a crazy headline.

hi! i have a traffic infraction FROM SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (orange county) which i scheduled a court date for and the judge allowed me to do community service instead of paying for my fine. she very clearly stated "instead of the $226 fine, you can just pay $100 to sign up for community service and complete 4 hours of service" great! lets do that.
my due date for my fine is this monday, 06/03/2024 and i signed up two days ago 05/30/2024 for community service. judge said i need to register by 06/03/2024. i think i did everything right, however on my portal it says i owe $226.16 AND 4 hours of community service. i thought once i registered for the community service, the fine would go away. its now due in 2 days and unfortunately I CANT CONTACT ANYONE DURING THE WEEKEND so i have to wait till monday, 06/03, to talk to anyone about this!!!

My LO wrongfully convicted was arrested and charged with sexual battery on a minor under 12 years of age, his little sister. He had just turned 18 two months after the crime was committed on the victim. The victim was 11 when she became pregnant by another relative.
The victim was coerced into saying it was my LO. They lived at 2 separate addresses and hadn’t even been around or seen each other around the timeline the investigator claims the victim became pregnant in the report.
The investigator who did the investigation lied in her report of probable cause to get my LO arrested. She said that he admitted to messing with the victim once, which was a lie. The DA knew that couldn’t be proven, so while he was in the county jail his charge had changed unbeknown to us to “attempted” sexual battery on a minor under 12?
The whole while in the county they interrogated him trying to get him to confess to the crime and take plea deals. For example, some of the deals were like 10 in 10 out on paper, 15 in 5 out on paper, life, 50 years, or 30 years, all at which he had to register for life. He kept turning down plea deals which in confidence of going to trial. The DA “claimed” to have evidence pointing the finger at him which was a positive DNA test of the fetus matching his and witnesses who would testify against him. That also isn’t true. They never had any evidence which explains why the charge had to be changed to stick.
His PD wasn’t any help. They took away one trying PD and gave him another bad PD who didn’t do anything to help him. The victim finally told the truth about what had happened to her and said that my LO didn’t do anything ever to her and even got a written statement, but the DA didn’t care to hear and refused to have the charges dropped. They knew he didn’t do it but still pushed to get a conviction based on an attempt that never happened.
They rushed his case. No motions were put in place on his behalf, no objection, no witnesses, and no evidence, not even an evaluation. The judge ordered him to take medication because he had become depressed behind this whole ordeal and was forced to take medication but was still cleared to go to court. We tried to get him to go into mental health court because he had behavior problems (ADHD), was quick tempered, and was on medication at the time of his arrest. He also attended special educations classes, so I don’t think he understood the severity of this crime at that time.
It was my LO first offence. They wouldn’t accept the youthful offender’s statue for him either, he tried that approach too. He ended up going in front of a biased judge during a plea trial who despised SO. She didn’t care for the truth, would hardly let anyone speak on his behalf. She told my LO she was going to make an example out of him and told him he was going to sign his plea of 23 years, and if he appealed, she would make sure he got life. So, he never filed an appeal scared of her words.
He was a young athletic man still in high school playing football, running track, and had his first child on the way when he got convicted. He comes home soon. He has already served almost 17 years, 35 months to go then 3 years on probation. He was wondering about how he would he be able to live with his wife and child?

I have to give it to young kid, he was wiser than Orion who claims to be educated. Jacob spoke about how he doesn’t believe racism exists, or at least to a point like it used to. Orion is perpetuating the continual destructive narrative that black men are targeted by the police, and that his son was allegedly profiled by being followed by a police officer. It’s frustrating because he claims he wants to help mentor young men but is perpetuating a destructive to narrative to young black men that they are a target of a “racist system”. He doesn’t seem like a good mentor to me and it’s very frustrating to hear that being told to a younger man. African Americans have more opportunities than they have ever had in the history of the U.S., since the civil rights movements in the 1950s-1970s.
It seems to me Orion is stuck in a mindset that he has grown up with and closed off to accepting or even thinking about what this young man had to say. Just my opinion but I’m curious as to what everyone thinks. I’m sure there will be people that disagree with me but I’m curious to see if other people noticed to?
Btw I’m from the same generation as Jacob and was brought up not to judge people by the color of the skin but by the content of their character. This was taught in school but also by my family and my faith as a Catholic. I'm a boring middle aged CPA. The most exciting thing to happen in my life within the last few weeks was when I made cinnamon rolls.
I'm very close with my 12 and 7 year old nephews. Their dad is a total loser fuck up. Yes I've contacted CPS and spoke to lawyers but not much cab be done. I actually hope he'll die of an overdose. I pay for my nephews clothes, activities, etc. They stay over my place on the weekends.
On Tuesday, my 12yo nephew told me that one of my brother's friend/roommate had been touching him since he was 9. I asked him how he was being touched and he said he would suck his dick and was on saying something now because this guy was now trying to fuck him and get him to suck his dick said if he didn't then he'd just go to my younger nephew to do it.
He wasn't lying. I said he will never touch you again. I went to my brother's house and beat the shit out of his roommate. I literally had to take a break. He thought that he'd just get his ass beat and move out but I wouldn't call the cops. I did call the cops and they arrested me for assault and went to LA County jail. I got bailed out this evening. Jail is fucking awful. It smells like puke and vomit and looks like a homeless shelter. I will never eat peanut butter ever again.
They did arrest my brother's roommate this morning. His face is pretty messed up and he got a concussion. I told my boss and coworkers that I was in the hospital for an allergic reaction. Hopefully I won't have to go back to jail.

This will be my last post as their coverage for this case has finally come to an end. This was an interesting one because both Stephanie and Derrick give their final opinions and I'd like to dissect some of it. I'll try and go in order of when things show up in the episode.
Plan to escape?:
All I'll say on this is that I don't think it's surprising that someone who is facing the death penalty may fantasise about escaping. As Stephanie and Derrick allude to in the episode, that ever being a realistic option is kind of fantastical thinking. They were correct on the fact that the Sheriff's office ended up announcing that there had not been any kind of escape attempt and that the brothers had nothing to do with cutting their chains.
"Several days later, after the story made front-page news, the L.A. County Sheriff's office quietly announced that the Menendez brothers had nothing to do with cutting their chains and had never tried to escape. Cut chains had been discovered at several other courthouses. Jail trustees, honor prisoners with nonviolent backgrounds who helped move prisoners between jails and courts, had cut the chains as a prank." - The Menendez Murders: The Shocking Untold Story of the Menendez Family and the Killings that Stunned the Nation
"Not until six years later would they learn that a sheriff's investigation had concluded no escape attempt had been made, but rather, a deputy had planted the damaged leg irons in order to take credit for finding them. I think the brothers maybe fantasised about escaping and wrote things down in service of that but there was never any real plan to escape.
During the cell search which resulted in this whole fiasco a seventeen-page letter written by Lyle to Erik was also found:
"We need to hang in there together, in my opinion. You notice I have not held you talking to Cig or Oziel against you even though my entire life is on the verge of destruction as a result of all this. I feel that we have done what we did together and everything we do afterwards is both our responsibility."
"I am not the pillar of strength the papers make me out to be or Leslie thinks I am. I think if dad could give us on piece of advice as we left the house that night in August, it would be never to abandon each other no matter the circumstances."
“If it were not for you I doubt I would even try for manslaughter, I would rather try to escape or die. I struggle with my belief that men take responsibility for their actions, pleading abuse is not taking responsibility.”
“We alone can get ourselves through this life after all that has happened.”
"What we did in August was a mistake from what I can tell and I don't know what to do about it. What can I do? Nothing I guess.”
"We did not do anything for the money. To go our separate ways is to lose any meaning our actions had..."
“I honestly do not believe that I am far way from packing up my bags and calling it a life. . . . I do not see things in terms of manslaughter and life terms. I see only win, lose--honor and dishonor. I refuse to give up for Dad’s sake, he is watching and I will not disappoint him a second time, or Mom, by giving up and having their deaths be in vain.”
The lawyers:
Stephanie mentioned two of the lead attorneys for the brothers. Jill Lansing was the lead attorney for Lyle while Leslie Abramson was the lead attorney for Erik but the brothers also had two other attorneys who also assisted. In the first trial Erik also had Marcia Morrisey who assisted Leslie Abramson and Lyle had Michael Burt who assisted Jill Lansing. In the second trial Marcia Morrisey was replaced by Barry Levin and Lyle had two new attorney's by the name of Charles Gessler and Terri Towery.
Stephanie was confused as to why there was two separate juries for the first trial but there actually was good reasons for it. While the two juries did see mostly the same trial, there was some evidence and witnesses that only one jury was permitted to see. This is because there is specific evidence which only relates to one brother. The defense (rightfully imo) was worried that certain evidence would spill over onto the other brother and damage that specific brothers' defense even if the evidence had nothing to do with them at all. I can't recall off the top of my head if both juries were present for this or not but the first example that popped into my head is the evidence relating to Lyle's wiping of his mother's computer. Erik had no contact at all with the computer expert that Lyle hired and there's other evidence which suggests that Erik had no idea that Lyle had even hired this person until afterwards. This is an example where evidence is only really useable against Lyle so to have Erik's jury be aware of it would be unfair.
Something else Derrick brought up which I thought was interesting because it lines up with what the brothers say happen is that the lawyers would have basically said to them "like look guys, you need to just tell the truth because otherwise you're getting the death penalty". This is exactly what Lyle said happened. As Stephanie briefly mentions later on (and there's one thing about it I'll dispute later on) Lyle had asked people to lie for him during his time in jail. According to Lyle he was essentially refusing to talk about the sexual abuse for a very long time (somewhat corroborated by his seventeen page letter, quotes of which you can read earlier in the post). Because of this he was trying every other avenue he could find so that he wouldn't have to testify. This included him asking friends to lie for him. Eventually his lawyers caught on to this and said to him basically to stop being an idiot and that he was going to get the death penalty unless he decided to testify himself. This is also why I found Stephanie's remarks regarding "Lyle always expected to tell the truth" quite funny. Even according to Erik, Lyle was the one who didn't want to tell the truth, so much so that the brothers fought with each other about it. Erik was happy getting therapy and decided he would testify while Lyle kept refusing.
Family Members:
Many of their family members testified for their defense and it's so much I can't really get into it but Stephanie did bring up a quote from an interview with some family members where they said that they forgive Erik and Lyle but they still refuse to forgive Jose and Kitty. This quote actually came specifically from two of Erik and Lyle's cousins and Kitty's sister Joan Vandermolen.
Here's a quote from their other aunt Marta Cano from an interview she did a few years ago -
"I don't think it was a crime. It is a crime by statement, but they killed fear. They felt that they would be killed if they didn't kill, that's my own personal opinion. I think that they were just panicking"
They played some of the testimony of their cousin Diane who corroborated the brothers claims of SA. She is also one of the many relatives who supported the brothers at the time and still supports them today. One other interesting thing from her testimony which wasn't discussed is that she was living with them at the time when Erik attempted to run away from home. Erik testified about this incident himself and Diane remembers it because Erik had been gone for a long time and recalls Jose dragging him back and that Erik had been crying.
As for family members who didn't support them, the only two who have ever spoken out are Kitty's brothers Brian Andersen and Milton Andersen. Brian Andersen and Milton Andersen were the only family members who testified for the prosecution. I won't get into their entire testimony but all I'll say is that Brian's testimony from the first trial is VERY telling and I recommend checking it out if you're interested. They clearly loved their sister but I think they refused to see things that were right in front of their faces possibly because they were also abusive to their children. It was such a huge disagreement in the family that Brian's son, Alan Andersen ended up disowning his dad and has repeatedly called his father "a liar".
Lyle asking friends to lie:
There is information relating to how during their time in jail, Lyle was trying to concoct some sort of defense without having to testify himself. There is some conflicting information as to when Lyle decided to not go with this as one of these people did still testify (Traci Baker) but another friend who ended up testifying for the prosecution did say that Lyle ended up calling him and telling him that he wasn't going ahead with it. There is also evidence which supports that Erik was ratting Lyle out to their lawyers at some points and that their lawyers were unaware of some of this behaviour.
There was just one thing on this I wanted to correct or supply some extra information on. Stephanie stated that Lyle had been recorded telling a friend (Marti Shelton) that he had "snowed half the jury" or something to that effect. This is a very common myth that always pops up with this case as it was reported on in Dominick Dunne's work for Vanity Fair on the case. The prosecution never used any of the tapes as there was nothing of value on them and Marti Shelton came out years later and recanted the statements she attributed to Lyle as she had allegedly been paid by Domnick Dunne to make up lies about Lyle.
She is quoted in Dunne’s April 1994 piece saying she overheard Lyle Menendez tell someone, after his first trial ended in a mistrial, “We’ve snowed half the country. Now we have to snow the other half.”
“That was a lie,” Shelton now says. According to stories in the Los Angeles Times and Washington Post in mid-May 1994, authorities searched her home to find evidence to support her quoted statement, but came up empty.
Shelton now says she never overheard Menendez say that, but she was coached by Dunne.
Shelton says she told Vanity Fair fact checkers at the time the quote was made up, but they were only interested in getting her tape-recorded statement owning up to the quote – which she provided.
Shelton admits she lied in the past. “What I did was wrong,” she said, referring to the quote she gave to Vanity Fair.
“But what he did was wrong as well. He backed out of a deal.”
The deal, she alleges, was to give her $100,000 in return for her statements and help – an amount that Dunne and Vanity Fair call absurd.

Stephanie and Derrick's closing thoughts:
Stephanie and Derrick come to similar conclusions that while the crime was still murder to them, that the brothers should no longer be in prison and I certainly agree with them on the latter part although I wanted to mention a few things on this before I wrap this up.
I would still argue that there is a decent argument for lack of premeditation in this case and I disagree with Derrick saying that most people would agree with him and not the experts in this case like Dr Ann Burgess who testified that she believed that Erik was acting based on fear and that the crime was not premeditated. The majority of jurors in the first trial voted for either voluntary manslaughter or involuntary manslaughter and that was on two separate juries. So that's the majority of twenty four reasonable people concluding that there was enough reasonable doubt to not convict of murder.
Of course no one is ever going to know the absolute 100% truth in this case. Only Erik and Lyle know that but I would caution people away from snap judgements when it comes to this case. If you're actually interested in why so many jurors could consider manslaughter I implore you to at least watch the first trial and find out how that could have happened because there is a lot of evidence which supports a lack of premeditation. Other than that everyone is free to have their own opinions and I fully accept that.
Even though I take great issue with Stephanie's research when it comes to this case, I appreciate her trying to explain some of this in the final episode. I have still enjoyed it and it's given me something to kill time with in the evening.
