The ASUS Fast IPS technology ensures fast response times needed for quick reflexes during intense gaming sessions. Additionally, the PG38UQ supports native 4K 120Hz gaming without chroma subsampling on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X via HDMI, making it a versatile choice for both PC and console gamers.
One of the impressive features of this monitor is its excellent color accuracy. With a 98% DCI-P3 color gamut and DisplayHDR 600 certification, you are guaranteed true-to-life colors that immerse you further into your gaming world. The sleek design and high build quality complement the high-performance experience.
Set up is super easy, even for those unfamiliar with gaming monitors. It includes features like the Asus Fast IPS technology for quick response time and an Adaptive-Sync for super-smooth gaming visuals. These make it perfect for watching movies or playing games on a big screen.
The only downside I found was the placement of menu buttons at the bottom right, which may require some getting used to. But apart from this minor inconvenience, the Asus ROG Swift PG38UQ truly delivers a top-notch gaming experience on a 4K UHD screen.
Highlightes of this product include its large 4K UHD screen, fast 144Hz refresh rate, and the ability to support native 4K 120Hz gaming without chroma subsampling on consoles via HDMI. In fact, the only con to this monitor is the placement of menu buttons that may require some getting used to.
So if you're a serious gamer looking for a high-quality, performance-driven monitor with a large screen and stunning visuals, the Asus ROG Swift PG38UQ is definitely worth considering.

https://preview.redd.it/36l3grxlfw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aebcf262efd2ca52a8f3c85acd1e2e90e09c5f94
I've been using the Asus ROG Strix XG259QN gaming monitor for a few months now, and I'm genuinely impressed with its performance. The quick response time and high refresh rate make even the most intense gaming sessions smooth and lag-free. I also appreciate the HDR modes and vibrant color gamut that bring my games to life with rich, lifelike visuals.
One downside is that this monitor doesn't come with built-in speakers, but the overall experience has still been top-notch. The adjustable stand allows me to find the perfect viewing angle, and the low blue light feature ensures my eyes don't feel strained after long play sessions. Plus, the wide range of connectivity options ensures compatibility with all my devices.
In conclusion, the Asus ROG Strix XG259QN is an exceptional gaming monitor that delivers on performance and visual quality. If you're looking to upgrade your gaming setup and take your game to the next level, this monitor is definitely worth considering.

🔗Asus ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ: Fast and Stunning 138Hz Gaming Monitor

https://preview.redd.it/knl0e89mfw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=14008290ae191d205b667810c28f476e1e317f6b
As a long-time gamer, the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ has completely transformed my gaming experience. This monitor has everything you could ask for - incredible picture quality, an impressively fast refresh rate, and a sleek design that wouldn't look out of place in a sci-fi movie.
The 4K UHD display is a standout feature, with vibrant and accurate colors that make every game feel more immersive than ever before. Plus, the HDR compatibility means that even the darkest scenes are rendered with stunning detail.
Then there's the 138Hz refresh rate, which ensures smooth gameplay even in the most intense action sequences. It's NVIDIA G-Sync compatible too, so you won't have to worry about screen tearing or other visual artifacts.
But the ROG Swift OLED isn't just all about its visuals; it's designed with your comfort in mind too. The intelligent cooling system keeps the monitor running smoothly even during marathon gaming sessions, and the Game Mode feature lets you easily customize settings to suit whichever game you're playing.
However, there are definitely some drawbacks to this monster of a screen. For one, it might be too big for some people's setup, especially if you're playing on a smaller desk or in a smaller room. Additionally, the weight of the monitor can make setting it up a bit cumbersome.
Despite these minor issues, I'm still blown away by the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ. It has revolutionized how I play games, making them feel more immersive and lifelike than ever before. If you're in the market for a new gaming monitor, this one is definitely worth considering.

🔗ASUS TUF Gaming 1080P Gaming Monitor

https://preview.redd.it/euvruzomfw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a447c196e5167530241611aea24f848f3905f3d
I recently got my hands on the Asus TUF VG277Q1A Gaming Monitor, and boy am I impressed! This 27-inch monitor is a game-changer for gamers who demand smooth and responsive performance. The Full HD display, coupled with a 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms Extreme Low Motion Blur, instantly enhances my gaming experience.
Its Eye Care feature is a godsend, reducing eye fatigue after extended hours of playing. Additionally, the monitor's Shadow Boost technology ensures that I don't miss out on any crucial details in dark scenes. Oh, and did I mention it has both HDMI and DisplayPort connectivity? Talk about versatility!
However, there are a few cons to consider. The power cable is a bit too short, which limits where I can place the monitor on my desk. And while assembly was a breeze, some may find the lack of adjustable height frustrating.
Overall, I highly recommend the Asus TUF VG277Q1A Gaming Monitor for gamers seeking a high-performing yet affordable option. It's definitely worth the investment!

🔗24" ViewSonic Omni Gaming Monitor

https://preview.redd.it/ys0rwnzmfw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=36bc92d6a5bd287c3f880d234970a8a7c5439eb3
I've been putting the ViewSonic Omni VX2428 through its paces in my gaming setup lately. Right off the bat, this 24-inch monitor impresses with its sleek 3-sided frameless design, making it perfect for seamless multi-monitor setups. Under the hood, it boasts a high 180Hz* refresh rate, 0.5ms (MPRT) response time, and AMD FreeSync Premium technology, virtually eliminating screen tearing and stuttering for a fluid gaming experience.
The connectivity options are plentiful, with two HDMI (v1.4) inputs, and one DisplayPort (v1.2) input that ensures smooth flexibility for both general use and entertainment. However, the monitor's performance is hampered by the fact that the HDMI version is 1.4, limiting the output to a maximum of 120Hz if you're relying solely on HDMI connections. Another point to note is the lack of built-in speakers, which may require additional investment in external ones if you don't have any.
In terms of build quality, the VX2428 is very solid and sturdy, and it comes with a DisplayPort in the box, which is a plus. As a beginner, I've been giving this monitor a 9/10 so far, though I'll update my review after two weeks of usage.
Overall, I would recommend this monitor to gamers who are looking for a sturdy, sleek design with fluid, tear-free gameplay. Just keep in mind that you might need to consider additional investments for better sound quality and smoother connectivity options.

🔗MSI MAG 325CQRXF Curved Gaming Monitor (32", 240Hz, 1MS)

https://preview.redd.it/6fzsd5wnfw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=505ec030a41467123db764d62c8245e5772acafa
I remember the first time I unboxed this baby - the MSI Mag325cqrxf Widescreen Gaming LCD Monitor. As soon as I plugged it in, my jaw dropped. The 31.5-inch QHD 240Hz 16:9 Curved 1000R Rapid VA Gaming Monitor lives up to its name with its breathtaking display and mind-blowing features.
The first thing that caught my eye was the 240Hz refresh rate. You know how some games can be a little choppy? Not on this monitor. It's smoother than a freshly waxed car, making my fast-paced games feel almost cinematic. And don't even get me started on the 1000R curvature. It's like I'm inside the game world!
I also love how they've incorporated anti-flicker technology and blue light reduction to make gaming sessions longer without straining my eyes. But what truly sets it apart are the vibrant colors and wide viewing angles provided by the Rapid Vertical Alignment VA panel technology. It's like I'm seeing colors I didn't know existed!
However, one thing that could be improved is its size. While it's perfect for smaller gaming setups, players with larger desks might find the 31.5-inch screen a bit too cozy. Also, the price tag might be a tad steep for casual gamers.
But overall, I am absolutely in love with this monitor. It's my ultimate gaming companion and has made my gaming experiences truly immersive and exhilarating. Thanks, MSI!

🔗Fast-Response 24.5" Gaming LED Monitor with Ultrafast 240Hz Refresh Rate

https://preview.redd.it/h6l0no6ofw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aefbd3d9b59949624b86713e0ee6aa8cff16d7dd
Recently, I had the chance to test out the Asus ROG Strix XG259CM monitor, and it's been a game-changer in my quest for the perfect gaming setup. This sleek 24.5-inch monitor boasts a lightning-fast 240Hz refresh rate, designed specifically for professional gamers. Its Full HD resolution provides immersive gameplay, with colors that are sharp and vibrant, thanks to the IPS panel.
One of the standout features of this monitor is its ASUS Fast IPS technology, enabling a 1ms response time (GTG) for ultra-smooth gameplay. This makes a huge difference in first-person shooter games, where a split-second delay can mean the difference between victory and defeat.
Another convenient feature is the KVM switch, allowing you to control two connected devices using a single keyboard and mouse. This is perfect for those who work from home and need to switch seamlessly between their personal computer and their workstation.
On the downside, the monitor is quite heavy, making it a bit cumbersome to move around or adjust the angle. Additionally, the built-in speakers are decent but not outstanding, so you may want to invest in a separate set of speakers for a more immersive audio experience.
In summary, the Asus ROG Strix XG259CM monitor is a powerful and versatile tool for gamers and work-from-home professionals alike. Its impressive performance, combined with its intuitive controls and KVM switch, make it well worth the investment. However, its weight and mediocre speakers may not appeal to everyone.

🔗30" Curved Gaming Monitor with 200Hz Refresh Rate

I recently got my hands on the Sceptre 30-Inch Curved Gaming Monitor Metal Black C305B-200UN and I must say, it's been a game-changer for my gaming sessions. The first thing that caught my attention was the immersive viewing experience the curved display offers. It has made my gaming experience more intense and realistic.
The large 30-inch display is a treat for the eyes, especially when it comes to watching movies or playing games. The detailing is sharp and crisp, making everything look lifelike.
One of the standout features of this monitor for me is the 200Hz refresh rate. It provides an incredibly smooth gaming performance, giving me a clear advantage over my opponents.
The build quality is also top-notch. The monitor is sturdy and well-built, which gives me confidence that it will last for a long time. Additionally, it comes with built-in speakers that deliver quality audio, even though it may not be as powerful as external speakers.
However, there are a few areas where this monitor could be improved. The stand takes up a lot of space on my desk, which can be a bit inconvenient. Also, the menu buttons are a bit tricky to use, requiring some trial and error to navigate through.
In conclusion, the Sceptre 30-Inch Curved Gaming Monitor Metal Black C305B-200UN is a solid choice for gamers looking for a high-quality monitor at an affordable price. Its immersive display, smooth refresh rate, and solid build quality make it a winner in my book. Just be prepared for the space-consuming stand and the quirky menu buttons.

🔗ROG Swift Pro PG248QP NVIDIA G-Sync Esports Monitor

https://preview.redd.it/ic3dqt6pfw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc7ec6d476c79030ba0bd50faef04f0e34f0172d
I recently got my hands on the Asus ROG Swift Pro PG248QP NVIDIA G-Sync Esports Gaming Monitor, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer for me as an avid gamer. I was initially skeptical about the 540Hz refresh rate, thinking it would be overkill, but boy, was I wrong. The smoothness it brings to my gaming experience is unparalleled.
First and foremost, the fast response time of this monitor is truly impressive. I play a lot of fast-paced games like Valorant and Counter-Strike 2, and the swiftness of the panel has made a noticeable difference in my gameplay. It's like looking through a crystal-clear window into the game, giving me that extra edge needed to outsmart my opponents.
The adjustable base is also a game-changer, as it allows me to fine-tune the ergonomics to suit my desk setup perfectly. The retractable claws on the base are a nifty touch that helps free up some much-needed space on my already cluttered desk.
As for the cons, I have to say that the build quality could be better. I encountered some issues with the bottom panel, which appears to be attached with glue and flexes when pressed. For a monitor priced at $900, I feel that the build quality should be more exceptional. Additionally, the compatibility with NVIDIA GPU's might be a turn-off for some, although it did not affect my personal experience.
In conclusion, the Asus ROG Swift Pro PG248QP NVIDIA G-Sync Esports Gaming Monitor has significantly improved my gaming experience with its lightning-fast refresh rate and smooth performance. The adjustable base is also a welcome addition to the package. However, the build quality could be better, and the compatibility with only NVIDIA GPU's might not appeal to everyone.

🔗Fast, 180Hz Gaming Monitor with Ergonomic Design

https://preview.redd.it/ofzxmvcpfw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5cf4283d3041744cedfdf752aac4b016eeb0f552
I've been using the Asus VG249QL3A Gaming LED Monitor for a few weeks now, and it's been a game-changer for my gaming experience. The first thing that grabbed my attention was its lightning-fast 180Hz refresh rate, which translates to incredibly smooth visuals and minimal motion blur. Couple that with the Adaptive Sync technology, and I'm getting tear-free gaming sessions that keep me immersed in my favorite games.
As a reviewer who's been playing games for hours at a time, the ergonomic design of this monitor is truly a blessing. I can adjust the stand to find the perfect viewing angle, and since the screen is bezel-free, it looks like a seamless part of my setup.
One of my favorite features of this monitor is its vibrant colors. The 99% sRGB gamut ensures that I'm seeing games in their full glory, while the 350 nits brightness means that I don't have to squint to see the action, even when playing in a well-lit room.
The 1ms GTG response time definitely deserves a mention as well. Fast-paced games are no longer a challenge for me, as the monitor keeps up with every mouse movement and key press without any lag or ghosting.
However, there's one drawback that I have to mention. The built-in 2W speakers are decent, but they don't deliver the same level of immersion as a dedicated gaming headset. That being said, the monitor itself is a solid buy for gamers who prioritize performance and visual quality above all else.
In conclusion, the Asus VG249QL3A is a fantastic gaming monitor that delivers smooth, tear-free gameplay with vibrant colors and a lightning-fast response time. It's perfect for long gaming sessions and provides an immersive experience that I wouldn't want to miss.

As a gamer, I've seen my fair share of monitors, but the Asus ROG Strix XG256Q truly stands out in terms of performance and design. Its 180Hz standard refresh rate and 1ms response time result in fluid, blur-free visuals that bring my favorite games to life. The 99% sRGB color gamut adds vibrancy, making everything look more lifelike. Moreover, its 400 Nit brightness ensures clear visibility even in bright environments.
One of my favorite features is the adjustable stand, which lets me fine-tune the viewing angle for optimal comfort. I also appreciate the included Low Blue Light and Flicker-free technologies that help reduce eye strain during marathon gaming sessions.
The VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification takes this monitor to the next level, enhancing contrast and color depth to create stunning visuals with lifelike details. And with its wall mountable design, I have the flexibility to set up my gaming space however I want, without cluttering it with unnecessary cords and peripherals.
Overall, I'm impressed with the Asus ROG Strix XG256Q Gaming LCD Monitor. Its combination of speed, accuracy, and eye comfort make it an excellent choice for gamers of all skill levels. If you're looking for a high-performance monitor that will take your gaming experience to new heights, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

The Asus ROG PG49WCD Swift Gaming OLED Monitor also supports FreeSync Premium Pro/G-sync Compatible technology, ensuring tear-free gaming sessions.
Another notable feature is the Picture by Picture mode, which allows me to view content from two sources simultaneously. This has been incredibly useful for multitasking and keeping an eye on my work and personal devices at the same time.
However, there are a few minor drawbacks to this monitor. Firstly, the KVM feature requires a software installation, which might not be ideal for some users. Secondly, I've noticed that the monitor tends to stick in a switching loop when trying to change input signals.
In conclusion, the Asus ROG Swift Gaming OLED Monitor (pg49wcd) offers an unparalleled gaming experience with its QD-OLED display and high refresh rate. Its immersive visuals and smooth gameplay make it a top choice for gamers looking to elevate their gaming setup. While there are some minor cons, they don't detract from the overall excellent performance and features offered by this monitor.

I also appreciate the Dynamic Shadow Boost feature, which helps me spot even the most elusive enemies in dark corners. The GameVisual modes and GamePlus hotkeys are incredibly handy, giving me the ability to customize my display quickly and easily.
One downside to note is that I've noticed some minor issues with the brightness and contrast if auto HDR is enabled on certain games. However, a quick tweak in the global settings ensures everything is running smoothly. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my new Asus Xg276q ROG Strix Gaming Monitor, and I highly recommend it for any avid gamer looking to take their skills to the next level.

  • Reduced motion blur and ghosting due to the high refresh rate, leading to a more immersive gaming experience.
  • Smoother gameplay with minimized stuttering, particularly in fast-paced games.
  • Improved perceived resolution and better overall visual clarity.

Do all 1000 Hz monitors support the same features?

Not necessarily. While all 1000 Hz monitors have a high refresh rate, other features may vary between models. Some monitors might offer additional connectivity options, advanced color reproduction, or adjustable stands, while others may focus solely on providing the highest possible refresh rate.

https://preview.redd.it/nboabf1tfw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=398af9d4bc220fc5a318c3948c7bd2dfa950a200

How can I choose the best 1000 Hz monitor for my needs?

When selecting a 1000 Hz monitor, consider the following factors:
  • Resolution: Higher resolution offers better image quality and more detail.
  • Panel type: IPS (In-Plane Switching) panels provide wider viewing angles and better color reproduction, while TN (Twisted Nematic) panels have faster response times and are generally more affordable.
  • Connectivity: Ensure the monitor has the proper ports (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB, etc. ) for your gaming platform(s).
  • Additional features: G-Sync or FreeSync compatibility can help reduce screen tearing and ensure smooth gameplay at varying refresh rates.

Are PC systems with 1000 Hz monitors future-proof?

While 1000 Hz monitors offer significant improvements in motion clarity and stuttering reduction, their long-term viability depends on various factors. As technology continues to advance, new gaming trends or innovations may emerge, such as 144Hz monitors and next-generation display technologies. However, with the increasing prevalence of eSports and high-refresh-rate content, investing in a 1000 Hz monitor remains a solid choice for avid gamers.

Do I need a specialized gaming computer to take advantage of a 1000 Hz monitor?

While having a high-performance gaming computer is beneficial for achieving the full potential of a 1000 Hz monitor, many modern graphics cards and CPUs are capable of supporting high refresh rates. To maximize performance, ensure your system has adequate RAM and storage capacity, as well as a recent and powerful graphics card.

How do I enable 1000 Hz mode on my monitor?

Enabling 1000 Hz mode on your monitor is generally a simple process. Typically, you can access the graphics settings or monitor menu on your computer and manually set the refresh rate to 1000 Hz. However, the exact method for enabling 1000 Hz mode may vary depending on your computer's hardware and operating system.

Will I experience burn-in with a 1000 Hz monitor?

Burn-in, also known as image retention, can theoretically occur on any display. However, modern 1000 Hz monitors are equipped with advanced technologies that help minimize the risk of burn-in, such as pixel shifting and screen savers.

Do I need any specific software to maximize the benefits of a 1000 Hz monitor?

While having a dedicated graphics software may help optimize your overall gaming experience, it is not mandatory to maximize the benefits of a 1000 Hz monitor. Ensuring that your graphics drivers are up-to-date and compatible with your system and monitor is typically sufficient for taking full advantage of the monitor's features and capabilities.

2024.06.01 07:08 Banarghnarghguy14 Will I ever get to work with mass specs again?

To get right into it I’m feeling conflicted with my recent life choices for me and my wife. I moved to San Diego shortly after high school. Worked in the restaurant industry for a few years where I met my now wife. She helped me get back into school which I recently graduated with a BS in Biochemistry. We were doing okay in SD. No chance to buy a house but I loved my job and SD is amazing although it is very expensive. Well my mom got hurt at work and made it seem like she was essentially disabled and unable to care for herself. So we moved from SD to Memphis. I searched for months for a job that paid well and aligned somewhat with what I did in SD (pharmacokinetics using mass specs) but was unable to even find anything with a mass spec. I love MS and am so fascinated with the instrument. We have been living at my mom’s place for a few months now and it has become clear to us that she exaggerated her injury so we would move here and help pay her bills because she is very active around the house and does plenty of physical activity. We hate living with her and want to move out to a place of our own. My wife and I are both working two jobs because the move drained our savings and I was without work for 4 months all while having to pay on my mom’s bills. I feel resentful towards my mom because it feels like she lied to me just so I would pay her bills because she doesn’t work anymore. I honestly feel like she could find work but is milking her “injury”. Well my wife and I are looking for apartments, but I don’t think I want to live in Memphis for that long. I don’t know where I would want to live because I miss SD so bad and we both miss our old friends. She doesn’t want to move back to SD because it’s too far from her family. My wife has a child development degree and used to be a teacher, but is currently a receptionist at a vet FT and a customer sales rep PT. I am working as a QC analyst FT and a microbiology laboratory specialist in healthcare PT. I don’t hate my current roles but I miss my old job and working with mass specs. I have 3 1/2 years experience working with them. Are there any other cities big in pharmacokinetics or jobs with mass specs? I’m trying to get ideas of cities that a stem major would do well in with my niche interest. Any advice/sympathy/guidance would be appreciated. Thank you for reading.

2024.06.01 06:19 Mountain-Pay-8300 Optimo Scam

I first found this job on FastJobs and they used "Horizon Events" as their employer name instead of their actual one (Optimo). They have listed quite a number of job offers, however they are all on the same job, doing the same thing. The company had 3 main sectors of work: Advertising, Pure Wax, and AquaPlus. On the job listings as shown in my attachments, they promised quite an enticing pay of $16-18/hr, which was why my fellow trainees and I applied for the job. However, on my first day of training, I was made to sign an agreement stating that I shall not be paid should I not complete my 12 full days of training, and even if I did complete this training, I would be paid on a grading system (eg. grades A, B, C, etc). A+ grade would be paid $1000, A- is $900, B+ is $800 and so on and so forth. Weirdly enough, no one in the company told me I had to hit a certain KPI to be of a certain grade as the person who interviewed me told me that "it is rather easy to get grades A/B if you just show up for work for all 12 days."
Taking her words, I showed up every single day and found that things are not that simple after all. My time being a trainee there, I was paired with a trainer who would "train me skills on field" and basically use me to sell more goods for the company with little in return. Even though I was selling almost the same amount, if not more than my trainer, I could not understand why she was still being paid her regular monthly pay while I am being told that "you have not been selling enough" and that "you should sell $1000 more worth of goods before I qualify as a Grade A". It is quite commonly known that Grade A is rarely, if not never given out to trainees, and that it was just placed there to entice us to work for them without a good pay in return.
While at work, I was told pretty weird rules as well. For example, I was told that I am not allowed not sit on any chairs or lean on any walls because they were "trying to imitate how the work will be while on field", which is just pure standing from 1-7pm straight with little breaks. I was also told not to exchange contacts or make friends with other trainees there, which is the first time I've heard that making friends at work is not allowed. The job requires us to sell cards that allow customers to redeem at various companies like SkinLab and Vintage Hair Studios for free after paying us $30-40 on the spot. We would usually operate around MRT stations and we would just go up to random people walking past to pitch and sell our goods.
There were several incidences where we would be yelled at by MRT staffs to stop doing whatever we were doing, if not we would get a fine. Shocked by the yelling, I panicked and asked them if it was their first time experiencing such things and how to further handle such things. They told me it was not their first time, and we would just go for a break and come back to do the same thing or just relocate somewhere more hidden around the same area. When asked whether we actually have a license to sell such goods at MRT stations, I was just told "yes" and they would brush off the conversation quickly to prevent me from asking further. On the day of quitting, they paid me a peasant amount of mere $200+ for 7 days of 9 hours work each day "out of goodwill". They calculated that sum by pro-rating my Grade D's $400. It is quite unreasonable to be paid less than $4/hr considering I have made more than $250 worth of sales.

2024.06.01 05:04 Minecraft_Aviator Ways to Fix a Mediocre Bike Lane Proposal? (United States)

I live in Memphis, TN and TDOT recently added a project to the MPO Transportation Improvement Program that involves intersection improvements, bridge reconstruction, road resurfacing, adding buffered bike lanes, and filling in gaps in the sidewalk on N Watkins St, an older suburban road. I am disappointed that such a mediocre, stressful bike facility is being chosen over other alternatives, since other buffered bike lanes in the city are underutilized (although that may be due to them not being part of a comprehensive network).
I emailed the DOT recommending physically separating bikes from traffic like a shared-use path. An engineer replied saying that "significant design changes" could "alter or negate" the federal grants and that "the project needs to stay affordable."
Can anyone more familiar with federal RAISE and STBG-S funding explain how these changes would change the grants, and how that would affect the project timeline? I assume storm drain relocation would be the largest expense of separated bike facilities, since the curbs would be moved inward. Are there ways to mitigate this cost? Would one-way raised cycle tracks be a better alternative? I just hope they'll pick a design that will be suitable for all ages and abilities.

Always interested in reinventing his live performance, Matt uses a looper so he can improvise and manipulate layers of sound not usually heard from an acoustic performer. 4. The Grascals in Concert Little River Bluegrass Barn, Radford Friday, May 31, 2024, 7:00 - 10:00 PM General Admission: $30.00, Reserved Tickets: $35.00 Great musicians will always find a way to make good music, but for great musicians to make great music, they must form a bond – one that, more often than not, goes beyond the purely musical to the personal. For The Grascals, that bond has been forged at the intersection of personal friendships, shared professional resumes and an appreciation for the innovative mingling of bluegrass and country music that has been a hallmark of the Nashville scene for more than 40 years. Their cutting-edge modern bluegrass is delivered with a deep knowledge of, and admiration for, the work of the music’s founding fathers. Timely yet timeless, The Grascals make music that is entirely relevant to the here and now yet immersed in traditional values of soul and musicianship. It’s a unique sound that has earned three Grammy® nominations and two Entertainer of the Year awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association, as well as national media attention that seems to perpetually elude acts entrenched in niche genres. Such appearances include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Fox & Friends, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and CBS’ The Talk. The Grascals have over 200 guest appearances on the Grand Ole Opry to their credit and have also performed on the revered stages of Radio City Music Hall, the Ryman Auditorium and the Kennedy Center as well as music festivals such as MerleFest, Stagecoach, and the CMA Music Festival. In addition to performing across the United States and Canada, the awarding-winning band has traveled the world to take bluegrass music to Japan, Greece, France, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, and Belgium. In addition to the art exhibit, Spring Garden Day offers a wonderful opportunity for attendees to explore the Museum Garden with gardeners on-site to answer any questions. Visitors will also have the chance to engage with the Virginia Native Plant Society's plant clinic, Virginia Master Naturalists, and Virginia Master Gardeners, as several booths will be set up to provide information and insights into the rich botanical heritage of Southwest Virginia. 2024.05.31 22:43 Powermaple Beard Newbie

So I’ve always been absent minded and aloof when it comes to beard care. I heard about it, I know I should probably start doing it. But I always ended up forgetting about it until my beard grew and became itchy. So I’d just get a hair cut + bear trim at the barber. The itchyness would go away and repeat the same cycle every month.
Today I went to the pharmacy to pick up my meds, and while waiting i noticed a sale on hair products so I finally starting thinking about hair gel, and beard products. I never ended up buying the hair wax cause worry about it damaging hair, and I wasn’t sure how much I would use it.
But I did get these beard products:
Not sure if theses are good or not, there just the 2 brands the pharmacy had. and what the random person with a beard I ask for help from suggested to me.
So now that I have these 2 products how should I go about using them?

⚠️OpenAI reports misuse of its AI for 'deceptive activity'

OpenAI identified and disrupted five covert influence operations that used its generative AI models for "deceptive activity" across the internet.
OpenAI said the threat actors used its AI models to generate short comments, longer articles in various languages, made-up names, and bios for social media accounts over the last three months. These campaigns included threat actors from Russia, China, Iran, and Israel. It focused on issues including Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the conflict in Gaza, the Indian elections, and politics in Europe and the United States, among others.
OpenAI has also published a trend analysis report that describes the behavior of these malicious actors in detail.
Why does it matter?
This provides concrete evidence of generative AI being used to spread misinformation and manipulate global affairs. While there were no novel attacks this time, defending against them in the future will require continued investment in monitoring, safeguards, and public awareness from AI developers and platforms.

Intel, Google, Microsoft, Meta, and other tech heavyweights are establishing a new industry group called the Ultra Accelerator Link (UALink) Promoter Group to guide the development of the components that link together AI accelerator chips in data centers. The group also counts AMD, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Broadcom, and Cisco among its members.
It is proposing a new industry standard to connect the AI accelerator chips found within a growing number of servers. It’s version one, UALink 1.0, will connect up to 1,024 AI accelerators — GPUs only — across a single computing “pod.” It is set to arrive in Q4 2024.
Why does it matter?
Nvidia, currently the biggest player in the AI chip market with an 80% share, is not in the group. Tech giants have been keen to reduce their dependence on Nvidia by working on their own custom chips. This seems to be the latest effort to break Nvidia’s dominance.

AI entertainment startup The Simulation (formerly Fable Studio) just launched Showrunner, a platform that allows users to generate and watch AI-powered TV shows set in virtual simulated worlds.
  • Showrunner combines multi-agent simulations with LLMs to create interactive content aligned with specific virtual worlds.
  • Users can watch, direct, and star in shows set in virtual environments populated by AI characters, with the ability to craft episodes from prompts.
  • The platform is launching with 10 original shows, with users able to generate new episodes and edit deeper into scripts, shots, and voices.
  • Showrunner is opening in alpha to a limited number of users, with select user-created episodes receiving payment, rev share, and IMDB credits.
  • The studio went viral last year after the release of its South Park episode demos and research paper on its SHOW-1 model.
Showrunner is a wild step towards the merging of AI, gaming, and traditional entertainment, enabling users to not only consume but create stories within simulated worlds. The lines are blurring fast between creators and audiences — and the traditional Hollywood media model may never be the same.

2024.05.31 17:06 Agreeable_Speed9355 Mini battery

Mini battery
Hello again. I spent a little too much time late at night with the engine off, electronics on when the dash started to go haywaire. I'm thinking I ran down the battery. It's a manual 2010 mini cooper S R56. At first the dash flickered and stuff like unlock, powered windows, etc was totally wonky. The car is new to me, 62,000 miles. I'm not sure if the battery has been replaced before, though according to all records its been maintained as recommended almost religiously, so im guessing the factory battery was swapped out in 2015 or 2016, so due for another? I read some minis require IBS batteries, but I am not sure mine does.
I tried to trickle charge and jump with a garbage harbor freight battery pack. The electronics seem to be back to normal after the trickle charge, and the car now tries to, but still won't turn over. I'm guessing it's still low voltage. My analog voltmeter is also junk, but I believe it when it's saying the voltage is low.
This happened late at night when I was getting readings from my obd2 with bimmerlink. I have readings from a few hours before, as well as during/immediately after the start of the wonkiness. Sure enough, the big difference is related to voltage. My plan is to charge my jumper box battery more and try jumping again, and possibly jump with another car if this doesn't resolve the issue.
How do I tell if the battery is IBS? What might that mean for me once I get the car running again? This fix isn't urgent, as we have another car, but I'd rather spend the weekend driving around in the minu instead of working on it. Thanks everyone!

2024.05.31 15:16 Financial-Offer6464 Driving 36 hours straight with the help of FSD 12.3.6

AI Summary in comments
So I recently found myself in a position where I needed to make the drive from Nashville, Tennessee to the Bay Area, California within 45 hours. Unfortunately when I plugged my trip info into ABRP and the Tesla navigation, I was getting estimates between 40-42 hours which meant that I was unlikely to hit my goal. But I had to at least put in some effort to get close and I figured this would be a good opportunity to see how the car performs on extremely long distances and the fatigue reduction effect from FSD.
I started my journey north of Nashville in the early afternoon on low battery and had to stop in Dickson, TN for my first charging stop right off of I-40W. I had to charge all the way to 90% to make it to the next stop in Memphis. Between Dickson and Memphis I noticed that traffic was moving at about 85-90mph which was above the limits I could set for FSD so I just did this portion manually.
After charging up in Memphis I crossed into Arkansas and noticed some signs stating that the speed limits would be strictly enforced. I figured this was the perfect time to activate FSD and observe. I set my limits to 4mph over the generous 75mph speed limit and started to cruise as the sun began to set.
Within the first hour I realized that the best strategy for using FSD on long trips like this is in "Chill" mode with "Minimal lane changes" enabled. It seems like in other modes that the car likes to hang out in the left lane after passing and doesn't get back over until someone is practically tailgating you. So I managed the lanes with the turn signals and let the car do the rest.
I continued like this for a couple hours with only one notable disengagement when I used the turn signal to switch to the right lane after passing and the car approached the right lane at an unnecessarily sharp angle and swerved to realign itself correctly. I disengaged mid-swerve to avoid an overcorrection and turned FSD back on after a minute or two. At this point it was very dark and I was impressed with its performance despite the occasional warning for occluded side cameras and the accumulation of bugs on my windshield.
After 2 stops in Arkansas I set my sights on Oklahoma City. Other than the one incident and occasional disengagements for road debris, FSD was going strong and I felt like I could drive forever just monitoring it. Unfortunately as I was approaching Oklahoma City fatigue started to set in as I had been on the road about 12 hours at this point with very little traffic to monitor in the hours before. For a few seconds I felt my eyes shut and then I heard the loud beeps of the attention monitoring telling me to pay attention to the road.
I immediately perked up expecting to have to take over or something but then I realized that the cameras had detected my eyes were closed and the car was driving fine. At this point I told myself I would spend some extra time charging, get some coffee in my system, and pull over somewhere to rest if I felt fatigued like that again. I also decided that I would spend my charging stops every 2.5-3.5 hours walking around, getting food, or using the bathroom so I could keep my body alert.
Once I felt rested in Oklahoma City after about an hour I got back on the road and enabled FSD again. This portion of the drive wasn't really that interesting. There were a couple construction zones with non-standard lane curves that the car handled really well but after encountering a couple of these I decided I wanted to play it safe and do these portions manually. I was delighted though as the sun started to rise as I crossed into the Texas panhandle.
However my delight quickly waned as I started receiving warnings for occluded side cameras from the sun rising and I found I could no longer auto change lanes while on FSD so I kept having to disengage and reengage when I wanted to pass. But otherwise this portion of the drive went well after the sun rose sufficiently and I could continue fully on FSD.
All was well into New Mexico, but on my way to Albuquerque I was fiddling with the phone settings on the car while trying to make a call and must've missed the steering wheel nag over the loud music and the AC. I got my first FSD strike and had to continue manually until my next stop. This wasn't too bad at this point because I had barely driven the car myself up until this point.
Albuquerque was about 24 hours into the drive and I was feeling pretty good at this point. I could definitely just feel my mental energy increase as soon as I turned on FSD. But I noticed when I had to take over manually that I was driving like FSD a bit with increased following distances and extra time changing lanes which is highly unusual for me.
On the way to Flagstaff, Arizona I had to start taking over a bit more as FSD started to randomly brake for no reason. Not like an immediate AEB type event but a substantial reduction in speed for no reason (on one occasion it slowed down while passing a truck). I also had one incident where FSD randomly swerved back and forth within the lane for seemingly no reason. I figured this could be due to the bugs accumulating on my windshield again or the bright afternoon sun causing hallucinations.
After stopping in Flagstaff, my next destination was Needles, CA. I decided to do this portion of the drive mostly manually as I missed the sensation of driving my own car. I was still feeling good and surprised I had made it all that way in one go. Once I got to Needles it was getting dark so I loaded up on some food and coffee to refuel my body. I continued on but started to get tired so I pulled over to rest at a rest area somewhere in the Mojave for about an hour.
At this point it was way too dark for FSD for some reason and I couldn't get it to activate. I decided I would drive manually until I could use FSD again and ended up calling it quits in Tehachapi, California at a Love's after 36 hours and finishing my drive the next day early in the morning completely manually.
Overall, I think FSD is an insanely valuable tool and it seems like they are very close to something that resembles a real driver. While I do not recommend doing what I did unless you know you can push it to the limits, it does show that FSD can be used for extended periods of time with no issues. I would say I drove about 1250-1500 miles on FSD on this drive and had very few incidents which were all easily correctable and easy to take over.

No experience necessary for the laborer custodial or maintenance mechanic positions. It helps on the interview but you can surely think of maintenance related experience to relay for an interview. Based on fixing things around your house, the car etc. Always mention working safely.
Pro tip: You can apply for any job that has an exam opening and the test is administered local to yourself. Make sure you're serious and score decently; you can turn down the job offer. Keep a physical copy of your exam score, I believe they are good for two years.
The reason is: These job postings can be posted externally at capacity for testing, meaning they will not allow you to take the exam if they have enough qualified applicants. However, if you have a test score on the books, you are a qualified applicant.
Explanation of MVO/TTO to save time:
MVO= CDL B Can only drive box trucks on public roads, can drive anything for moves on postal property.
TTO= CDL A Can drive anything.
USPS provides the training. (Maintenance jobs at least. Management...GOOD LUCK)

2024.05.30 23:10 Bogey_10 Canadian border advice for guitar purchased from small manufacturer in the US

Hi everyone,
Looking for some guidance/insight as to what I can expect from a tax/duty standpoint at the border.
Disclaimer - not looking to lie to the border guard/etc. I travel to the states a fair amount back and forth with nexus and can’t jeopardize losing that.
I am purchasing a guitar from a small manufacturer based out of TN, and shipping it to my US post office box in Blaine WA (I live in BC)
I understand that for guitars that I could normally purchase in Canada through a distributor (ie fender, Martin, Gibson, etc.) I would normally be charged taxes and not necessarily duty
My question is about the small manufacturer part. They don’t use any sort of canadian distributor and the only way to purchase is direct from the manufacturer in the US. Does this affect the taxes I would pay at the border coming back into Canada? Or is there a rule that says that because it’s not something that is available in Canada for purchase, I don’t have to pay the provincial sales tax.
Thank you for all the help and advice!

2024.05.30 20:34 IanProton123 How to Check for Loans/Liens w/o Title?

I'm looking at buying a used ski boat from a private seller. I'll be making the purchase outright with cashier check/wire transfe etc.
Boats are NOT titled where I live in TN. Only a bill of sale is required to register and it's the same for surrounding states. Is there any way to check if there's a outstanding loan/lien since there's no title and it's a private seller? How do people in TN and similar states track loans without a title?
Seems like it would be pretty easy for someone to scam a buyer and I assume the buyer would have little (very slow at best) recourse?
Edit to add: I did more research and found you can search the first and last name of the seller at https://tnbear.tn.gov/UCC/Ecommerce/UCCSearch.aspx to determine if any liens are recorded, BUT the search only works for a person's name. I called the secretary of state office and they confirmed there is NO WAY to search for liens against a specific hull number which is completely bonkers to me - if the boat is actually owned by a relative, friend, scammer, etc. than there is no way to find the lien. Last hail marry is to contact TWRA who handles registrations and see if they track liens at all but it doesn't appear they do... response pending.

Gps Results have Been Delayed over a year Because Patients have survived 2 Fold Longer than Expected and 2 Fold longer than what was Required For FDA Approval.
— imminent "about to happen" and we already know the results
-- Dr's Tisgirltis and Jamy, who treat over 10% of actual p3 trial patients, have both said, os for control is dismal, just 5-7 months. Just like dr levy, just 6 months for cr2 which has been corroborated in 7 trials.
-- Since we know from the regal update all pooled os, is about 16 months, it means gps is about 24 months, like the statistically significant p2 results, and doing what its done in all previous trials, prevent relapse and extend survival.
Dr T stated ' I strongly believe gps will achieve the primary endpoint' you can still listen to the jan 3 call - in the below Corp Update Link.

2024.05.30 15:01 FelicitySmoak_ Thursday, May 30, 2013 - Jackson v. AEG Live Day 20

Trial Day 20
Katherine and Rebbie Jackson are in court.
The court also heard an update on efforts to get emails and any other records from a computer used by Michael's former manager, Frank Dileo. Apparently an LA attorney has a copy of Dileo's computer hard drive. Attorneys are working to get a copy of the HD to both sides. The copy was revealed during a deposition of Dileo's widow earlier this week in Pennsylvania, plaintiff's attorney Brian Panish said
Paul Gongaware Testimony
Jackson direct
Gongaware said he met with his attorneys again yesterday to refresh his recollection
Panish asked if AEG was concerned about Mr. Jackson's health.
"When he was sick we obviously had a concern," Gongaware responded.
Gongaware said he understood Michael was sick from reading the chain of emails shown yesterday. But Gongaware told the jury he didn't have any particular concern about Michael Jackson other than on June 19th, no one told Gongaware about being concerned with his health. Gongaware testified that he disagreed with Houghdahl's opinion, saying he had no "particular concern" about Jackson's health and ability to perform
Talking about the email Hougdahl sent saying Michael was deteriorating quickly, Gongaware explained:
"I didn't see it the way he saw."
Hougdahl, in response to concerns expressed by Travis Payne about Jackson's weight.
Email 6/15/09 from Hougdahl to Gongaware :
"He needs some cheeseburgers with a bunch of Wisconsin cheesehead bowlers and a couple of brats and beers"

"Was he joking around about this situation?" Panish asked Gongaware, referring to Hougdahl.
"I think he was," Gongaware replied.
"Did you think that was funny?" Panish asked.
"I did," Gongaware admitted
Panish asked about indemnity in Gongaware's contract. The exec said indemnity means that someone else is taking on the responsibility.
"I haven't read my contract in 12/13 years, I don't know what it says," Gongaware said.
Gongaware said he does not know how many pages his employment agreement is. Panish asked if he AEG would cover for Gongaware should they be found guilty. Gongaware said it was his understanding that he wouldn't be personally responsible financially if the jury sided with Jackson family.
Panish: "That means if you did something wrong..."
Gongaware: "They would be responsible. I've been assuming that,"
Adding that depending upon the size of the judgment, AEG could go after him. Panish asked how much AEG would be able to afford, and Gongaware said he didn't know. Panish emphasized there are various ways for AEG to pay a judgment, and Gongaware mentioned they had some sort of cancellation insurance.
Panish went back to discuss the email from Randy Phillips where he wrote 'Dr. Murray didn't need the gig and was unbiased and ethical'
Panish: "Is Mr. Phillips unbiased and ethical, sir?"
Gongaware: "I think he is"
Panish asked if it was ethical for Phillips to represent to Ortega that the doctor is 'extremely successful' and 'we checked everyone out'. Gongaware responded that he didn't know what Phillips knew at the time.
Panish: "Is number one priority 'the show must go on'?"
Gongaware: "I don't know if that's number one"
Panish: "What's number one?"
Gongaware: "Getting it right"
Panish showed the email from John Branca, saying he had the right therapist for Michael and asked if substance abuse was involved.
"This is referring to the meeting that was going to happen and I was waiting to see the results of it," Gongaware said. "I didn't believe there was a substance abuse issue," Gongaware testified. "In the entire time I was dealing with him in this tour, I saw it once when he came back from his doctor," Gongaware testified.
Gongaware said that was the only time he saw Michael with slurred speech and under the influence of something. Gongaware said he didn't know what Dr. Klein was giving Michael Jackson. When Panish asked Gongaware if he checked Dr. Klein out, he replied:
"No, he was Michael's doctor and it was none of my business."
Gongaware said he once observed Michael looking "slow" and possibly intoxicated after a visit to his dermatologist but he didn't believe he had any "serious health problems" even after Jackson appeared weak and disoriented at a June 19 rehearsal.
"My observation of Michael Jackson was that he was healthy," Gongaware said. "They had a meeting to discuss (the June 19 incident), and he took a couple days off and he came back strong"
As to insurance issues, Gongaware said he was involved only peripherally. On June 25, Gongaware sent an email saying that if they didn't get sickness coverage in the insurance, they would be dropping the policy. Gongaware said he didn't know why he was pressing for sickness insurance on the day Michael died. Bob Taylor, the insurance broker, wrote back that it was always down to the medical issued from the word go. Regarding Randy Phillips asking for life insurance the day Michael died, Gongaware said he didn't pay much attention to insurance, didn't recall.
The day Michael died, Gongaware said Phillips called him and told him to get over to the house right away, there seems to be a problem. Randy followed the ambulance to UCLA.
"The second call was that he informed me that he had died," Gongaware remembered.
On June 25, Gongaware said he went to the rehearsal at the Staples Center and talked to Kenny Ortega.
Panish: "Were you sad Mr. Jackson died?"
Gongaware: "Very much so"
"He was a business associate", Gongaware said about Michael.
They did not didn't hang out as friends
Panish asked about Phillips' email directing Gongaware to remove thin, skeletal footage of Michael in the red jacket from This Is It documentary. Gongaware testified that he remembered receiving the email. In his deposition played in court, Gongaware said he didn't recall the email.
Panish: "Did you change your testimony?"
Gongaware: "No. I saw the email as part of my preparation"
AEG Live president and co-chief executive Randy Phillips wrote in Aug. 9 email:
"Make sure we take out the shots of Michael in that red leather jacket at the sound stage where the mini-movies were being filmed. He looks way too think (sic) and skeletal"
Gongaware replied to Phillips, his boss:
"ok will have a look when it comes on screen"
Gongaware said he didn't try to control any of the messages about Michael after his death to reflect he was fully engaged in rehearsals. Panish asked about an email from Gongaware okay'ing the band, singers and dancer to give interviews but asked them to keep it positive
In another email July 9, 2009, email to music coordinator JoAnn Tominaga, Gongaware wrote:
"We are ok with the band, singers and dancers doing interviews now. The only thing we ask is that they keep it positive and stress that Michael was active, engaged and not the emaciated person some want to paint him as being"
Answering questions from Jackson family attorney Brian Panish, Gongaware said he was not trying to control the film's message.
Panish: "You're telling them what not to say, aren't you sir?"
Gongaware. "I'm asking them to keep it positive and not say he was emaciated"
Panish: "So you were controlling the message as a producer of that documentary"
Gongaware: "I don't think so"
Gongaware's testimony again emphasized the contrast between the answers he gave during his deposition under oath in December 2012 and his responses in the courtroom. In testimony, he agreed that Phillips meant "thin" in his email, instead of the word he typed, 'think'. Asked during the deposition what Phillips meant, he replied:
"I don't know what he meant"
Gongaware said nothing was taken out of the documentary, which included rehearsals for the scheduled 50 concerts in London. Gongaware promised in a follow-up email to Phillips that he'd "have a look," but he testified that he never dumped any footage.
"We didn't keep anything out based on what Randy wrote," Gogaware told jurors.
Gongaware testified that he did not know why Phillips would ask that.
Gongaware said there were 15,000 tickets per show, $1.5 million in tickets per show, $47 million for all 31 shows. Tickets were selling at lightening fast, Gongaware said.
"As fast as the system can sell."
The tickets were sold in March, Gongaware said. It was held by the arena, AEG had control of the money. Gongaware said merchandising was another way of making money. The building, which is owned by AEG, would keep the revenue of beverage sold. Gongaware said the beverage money would offset the arena rent, which Michael would not have to pay.
Gongaware: "His (MJ) potential was great"
Panish: "Unlimited ceilings?"
Gongaware: "If he was willing to work that hard, he would've done well"
Before lunch, Panish asked Gongaware whether This Is It was intended to be a multi-city tour. Gongaware said no, it was just going to be the 50 shows at London's O2 arena.
"The only thing we knew was 50 shows in London. Michael had not agreed to anything else," Gongaware explained
Panish asked Gongaware by the time the show was sold out, how many people were in the queue to buy tickets.
"250,000 people were still in the queue, which would be enough to sell another 50 shows," Gongaware answered.
During Murray's trial, Gongaware testified that 250k people still wanted tickets. He told that jury This Is It would be a multi-city tour.
Panish: "Did you tell the truth when you testified in this case, sir?"
Gongaware: "Yes"
Panish then concluded his questioning of Gongaware.
AEG cross
AEG's attorney, Marvin Putnam, did the questioning of Gongaware on behalf of the defendants.
Putnam: "Have you ever been sued personally for the wrongful death of anyone?"
Gongaware: "No"
Putnam: "How are you feeling?"
Gongaware: "It's difficult, it's very stressful"
Putnam: "Are you nervous?"
Gongaware: "Yes"
Putnam asked about Gongaware's memory and he said it's okay
Putnam asked Gongaware about some of the emails shown to jurors yesterday. Putnam was trying to show that not all the contents of the emails had been shown to jury. Some email addresses had been redacted. Attorney Brian Panish objected to the redactions, and got testy with the judge. It prompted another lengthy sidebar. When attorneys returned from the judge's chambers, Putnam resumed questioning Gongaware about emails sent to his private account
Putnam said Gongaware handed over more than 13,000 emails in discovery from the This Is It period
Putnam inquired about Gongaware's Kazoodi personal email account. On 6/20/09, the chain of emails with "Trouble at the Front" was sent there. Gongaware said he didn't remember receiving this email. Gongaware said he had more than one "Kazoodi" email account. He said he was not using the account the email was sent to on 6/20.
"The account was closed at the time."
Putnam presented Gongaware a document that indicated the private email account had been closed at the time. Gongaware said he never denied it was sent. Gongaware claimed yesterday was the first time he saw this chain of emails. Putnam used the closed email account to try to show Gongaware's testimony was truthful
Putnam: "Why could you not recall e-mails?"
Gongaware: "I had not reviewed them and had not seen them in years,"
Some of the e-mails were new to him because he was so busy putting Jackson's tour together that he never read them, he said. Gongaware said he was receiving hundreds of email a day at the height of 2008/09 tour preparation.
"Mostly, it was just a time factor if it was something that didn't have to do with me"
Gongaware said he doesn't have an office at AEG, and that he works on his own projects. He has an office at his house. Gongaware is the Co-CEO of AEG Live Concerts West with John Meglen. He said he was the co-founder of the company. Phillips is AEG Live CEO
Gongaware explained be has been testifying about what he could recall. If he didn't remember, he said he told the jury he couldn't recall. Gongaware testified he looked at the emails after his deposition because he wanted to put everything together and see the bigger picture.
Putnam: "Did you try to give your best testimony?"
Gongaware: "Yes, I did"
Regarding the phone call between Gongaware and Dr. Murray where the doctor asked about $5 million, Gongaware said he remembers that call. The next call between the two, it was the $150,000 call, where Gongaware offered the doctor $150k. Gongaware said those were the only two calls he had with Dr. Murray
Gongaware said the 1st time he met Dr. Murray was a meeting at Michael's Carolwood house. He said MJ, Kenny, Randy, Frank & Dr Murray were present. Gongaware recalled the other meeting with Dr. Murray was an encounter with him at The Forum. He remembers saying hello to him. Gongaware said he's sure he didn't meet with Dr. Murray other than on those two occasions
Gongaware said he promoted couple of shows/dances in college. He graduated in '69 from Waynesboro College in Pennsylvania in Accounting. He worked for Arthur Andersen in NYC after college as auditor. He said one needed two years of experience in order to get CPA license. The company ended up shutting down after being involved in the Enron scandal, Gongaware explained. He said there's a continuing education requirement in order to maintain his CPA license, but he hasn't kept current.
"I didn't like that work," Gongaware said about leaving the practice. "I wanted to do things and not just be an accountant."
Gongaware said he ski bummed for a winter and would do bookkeeping to pay for his lodge.
His first big show was in Colorado -- he got The Grateful Dead to perform at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colo. He said he didn't know the band or any of its managers, but asked them to come to Colorado. They did, and the show was a hit.
"The concert was sold out", Gongaware said, and he became an independent promoter.
Around 1975, he met Terry Bassett who worked at Concerts West and Gongaware went to work for them in their Seattle office. He worked for them for about 10 years. Gongaware said he went to work for the company because the money was steady. At Concerts West, Gongaware worked with Bad Company, Led Zeppelin, Beach Boys, Chicago, Eric Clapton, among others. This Concerts West is not the same; he is the currently the co-CEO. Gongaware left Seattle and came to LA to work at Concerts West. He then went to Warner Miller Films. The company did primarily ski movies. Jerry Weintraub was Elvis' promoter and Concerts West assigned him to work with Colonel Parker, Elvis' manager.
Gongaware was in his 20s when he worked with Elvis. He said when they'd announce an Elvis concert, there would be lines at the box office for 4 days. Gongaware said Colonel would buy ads on every radio station and promote the show. When tickets went on sale, Gongaware was to report to Colonel every hour regarding the ticket sales.
Elvis Presley's death became a controversy at this trial as the man (Gongaware) who promoted both artists' last tours testified. He testified yesterday that Presley died of a drug overdose, but when his own lawyer questioned him today he changed his testimony to say Elvis died of a heart ailment. Presley collapsed in the bathroom of his Memphis, Tennessee, mansion, Graceland, on August 16, 1977, at the age of 42. While his death was ruled the result of an irregular heartbeat, the autopsy report was sealed amid accusations that abuse of prescription drugs caused the problem. How Presley died is relevant because Jackson lawyers argue Gongaware's experience as Elvis's promoter should have made him more aware of drug abuse by artists, including Michael Jackson.
Although he worked advance promotion on Elvis Presley's last tours -- under the direction of Presley manager Colonel Tom Parker -- Gongaware testified he never met Presley.
Putnam: "Did you understand he had a problem with drugs?"
Gongaware: "I understood that later. There was a period of time when we didn't work. I didn't understand at the time, but I learned that it was a drug problem and the Colonel said he couldn't work."
Around 1992, Gongaware went to work on the Dangerous tour with Michael. This was his first time working with Michael Jackson. He worked with the Jacksons in 2000 but he remembered working on a tour with the Jacksons prior to 92 and said Michael was part of the group.
"I was the tour manager, handled the logistics and travel for the B party," Gongaware said, adding he worked for Michael but not for A party.

Gongaware said there were several legs on the Dangerous tour. It was a worldwide tour. He never met Michael on that tour, saw him on stage a few times
The first time Gongaware met Michael was in Las Vegas when he was visiting Colonel Parker. Steve Wynn's brother called and said Michael wanted to meet Colonel. Gongaware stayed and met him
Putnam: "Were there any doctors in that tour?"
Gongaware: "Yes, two"
Gongaware said Dr. Forecast was Michael's personal doctor. He didn't think Dr. Forecast treated anyone else, so they had Dr. Finkelstein also. Dr. Finkelstein, a general practitioner, was in the B party. They went to places where they didn't know the quality of local healthcare. Gongaware explained Dr. Finkelstein treated B, C and D parties. Gongaware said he did not see any doctor treat Michael. Dr. Finkelstein told Gongaware he treated Michael twice. Dr. Forecast wasn't in Bangkok yet, so Dr. Finkelstein treated him when he needed.
"The King of Thailand said Michael would have to do the second show because his friends were attending", Gongaware recalled.
Gongaware said the King put armed guards outside their doors to make sure they didn't leave
Putnam: "During the Dangerous tour, had you come to have an understating that Michael had a problem with drugs or painkillers?"
Gongaware: "No, he Dangerous tour in 93 was cut short in Mexico City"
Gongaware said. He learned it had to do with drug addiction because Michael announced it. Putnam played the audio with Michael's statement:
"My friends and doctors advised me to seek professional guidance immediately in order to eliminate what has become an addition. It is time for me to acknowledge my need for treatment"
On Jun 25, 2009 Gabriel Sutter (a tech guy) wrote Gongaware a condolences email.
"It was such an incredible shock to go through that experience," Gongaware explained.
Gongaware's response on July 5, 2009:
"I was working on the Elvis tour when he died so I kind of knew what to expect"

"You have all these people out of work," Gongaware explained. "With Elvis some were without jobs permanently."
Under questioning from Putnam, Gongaware said he didn't mean that he expected Jackson to die like Elvis. He was referring to the trauma of people losing their jobs because a tour is canceled and the estate taking over the legacy, he said.
Putnam: "When you wrote the email, did you expect Michael to die?"
Gongaware: "No, not all"
Putnam: "Did you ever consider the idea Michael would die?"
Gongaware: "No"
Here's what Gongaware had to say about the role of the estate after Elvis died (and what he expected after Jackson's death.):
"Then the estate takes over, and everything's different. You have nothing to say about anything"
When one of his friends asked about his plans after Michael's death, Gongaware replied he was
"trying to recover our losses from the show"

"Michael died of overdose of Propofol. He didn't die of being sick or malnutrition", Gongaware said.
He said that he had no idea of what Propofol was. "I had no idea" Jackson was using propofol in the weeks before his death, Gongaware testified
Gongaware said he worked on Michael's memorial service. He was in charge of the tickets and worked closely with the family. He said he didn't charge for his work.
Putnam: "Why did you work at the memorial service?"
Gongaware: "It was the right thing to do"

2024.05.30 06:25 grindcityrealtym How Much Does a House Cost in Tennessee?

Tennessee is a diverse state with a wide range of housing options and prices. From the bustling cities of Memphis and Nashville to the quaint small towns scattered throughout the state, the cost of a house in Tennessee can vary greatly. Below, we'll explore the average home prices in different regions of Tennessee, as well as factors that can influence the cost of a house in the state.

Average Home Prices in Tennessee

According to the latest data from the Tennessee Association of Realtors, the median home price in Tennessee as of August 2023 was $336,000. However, this figure can fluctuate significantly depending on the specific location within the state.
Homes in the major metropolitan areas of Tennessee, such as Memphis, Nashville, and Chattanooga, tend to be more expensive than those in smaller cities and rural areas. For example, the median home price in the Nashville metro area was $425,000, while the median price in the Knoxville metro area was $310,000.

Factors Affecting House Prices in Tennessee:

Several factors can influence the cost of real estate in Germantown, Tennessee, including
  1. Location: As mentioned earlier, the location within the state can have a significant impact on home prices. Homes in desirable neighborhoods, close to amenities, or with scenic views tend to be more expensive.
  2. Home Size and Features: Larger homes with more bedrooms, bathrooms, and square footage generally cost more than smaller, more basic homes. Additionally, homes with high-end features, such as granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and in-ground pools, can also command higher prices.
  3. Age and Condition: Newer homes, or homes that have been recently renovated, often sell for more than older, fixer-upper properties. The condition of the home, including the age of the roof, HVAC system, and other major components, can also affect the price.
  4. School District: The quality of the local school district can be a significant factor in home prices, as parents often prioritize access to high-performing schools.
  5. Market Conditions: The overall state of the housing market, including supply, demand, and interest rates, can also impact home prices in Tennessee. During periods of high demand and low inventory, prices tend to rise, while a buyer's market can lead to more affordable home prices.

Exploring Home Prices in Different Regions of Tennessee:

Memphis and Shelby County:

The Memphis metropolitan area, including Shelby County, is home to a diverse range of housing options. In the popular Midtown and Southwind neighborhoods, the median home price is around $275,000 and $375,000, respectively. However, homes in the more affluent East Memphis and Germantown areas can easily exceed $500,000.

Nashville and Davidson County:

Nashville, the state capital and largest city in Tennessee, is known for its vibrant music scene and rapidly growing population. The median home price in the Nashville metro area is around $425,000, but prices can vary significantly depending on the neighborhood. For example, homes in the popular East Nashville and Brentwood areas can cost upwards of $600,000.

Knoxville and Knox County:

Knoxville, located in the eastern part of the state, offers a more affordable housing market compared to the larger metropolitan areas. The median home price in the Knoxville metro area is around $310,000, with more affordable options in the surrounding suburbs and rural communities.

Chattanooga and Hamilton County:

Chattanooga, situated along the Tennessee River, is known for its scenic beauty and growing economy. The median home price in the Chattanooga metro area is around $325,000, with prices ranging from the low $200,000s in some neighborhoods to over $500,000 in more upscale areas.

Rural and Small-Town Tennessee:

Outside of the major metropolitan areas, Tennessee offers a range of more affordable housing options in its small towns and rural communities. The median home price in these areas can be as low as $200,000, making them an attractive option for buyers seeking a more rural or small-town lifestyle.

Conclusion:

The cost of a house in Tennessee can vary significantly depending on the location, size, features, and market conditions. While the state's major metropolitan areas tend to have higher home prices, there are still many affordable options available, particularly in smaller towns and rural areas. By understanding the factors that influence home prices in Tennessee, buyers can make informed decisions and find the perfect home that fits their budget and lifestyle.

Coming from the small surf town of San Clemente, California, Conrad Woodul, better known as sumthin sumthin has become one of the most highly admired artists within electronic music in just a few years. His passion for music was born at age four; creating drum sets in his kitchen with pots and pans and kitchen utensils. A few years later he picked up the electric guitar followed by the piano, teaching himself how to write and compose music before taking lessons. After playing in bands for some time he decided he wanted to have full control over the music he was creating and found his way into producing electronic music. Beloved by both the underground and the mainstream, his ability to bridge lightness and darkness is evident throughout his discography and cements sumthin sumthin as a one-of-a-kind artist. 2024.05.30 02:42 FrozenFundsFiasco SynapseVictimsFight Suggested Action Steps

Step 1: Please share this subreddit widely with anyone you know to be impacted, influencers, or anyone who may be willing to help advance our cause.
Step 2: Ask for Congressional and Presidential involvement. Use the locator on https://www.congress.gov/members/find-your-member to locate your representatives. Complete any forms on their website or call their offices to speak with someone. As many representatives as possible need to hear from us given the lack of response so far. Also go to https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/ to write a message to President Biden's staff.
Step 3: Complete online complaints to relevant federal/state agencies such as:
CFPB: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/
FDIC: https://www.fdic.gov/resources/consumers/consumer-assistance-topics/complaint-information.html
Federal Reserve: https://forms.federalreserveconsumerhelp.gov/secure/complaint/complaintType.html
FINRA: https://www.finra.org/investors/need-help/file-a-complaint
CA Dept of Financial Protection & Innovation (where Synapse is located): https://dfpi.ca.gov/submit-a-complaint/
Don't forget about Lineage Bank, AMG National Trust, and American Bank, N.A. when you post complaints. They are also in the Synapse network and need some feds checking them over just like Evolve needs to be checked out.
Please also consider notifying state/local agencies. Go to your state's website to locate any financial agencies/bureaus for where you live.
Step 4 (our next step): Consider participating in an in-person protest. Some potential locations we could engage in on-site activism are:
Federal agencies, Washington, DC
Evolve and Lineage Bank HQs, Memphis and Franklin, TN
AMG National Trust, Denver, CO
American Bank HQ, Texas
US Bankruptcy Court, Los Angeles, CA
Please consider a location that is local or regional to you and plan a protest with some like-minded people. Engage local news and print media to increase public awareness of on-site activism.
