Hello Summer Camp Counselors! Pardon the intrusion here, I posted on Teachers a few weeks ago with no feedback, I figured you may have more experience here?
Dad of a 4th grader here that would love your advice! My kid's school was short of male chaperones for an overnight trip (a couple nights, outdoor center), and wanting to redeem myself for the pain I caused to my chaperones as a kid, I decided to sign up.
But... I'm now concerned about what lies ahead of me :) So a few questions:
(and yes, I will of course ask the teachers and organizers as well - but it's always nice to compare notes)

But... I'm now concerned about what lies ahead of me :) So a few questions:
- I'm sure you have a lot of tales of horrible (or amazing) parent volunteers in your many school trips. What can I do to be of most help to the staff without overstepping, while providing a good experience to the kids? Some things are obvious, but I suspect there's some that are not. Would love suggestions!
- From what I know of the outdoor program, the sleeping arrangement involves a giant room with bunk beds for all males (chaperones, staff as well as the boys), and another giant room for all females, in a fairly rural setting. Any trick to handling bed time, the night, and having a pleasant few days? If you're wondering why I'm asking this question: 1. I did the mistake of searching for "chaperone" on Teachers and most are horror stories. 2. From my first grade up to high school I went to multiple overnight trips every year with similar arrangements between scouts, church retreats (I was a kid...) and summer sleep away camps. I still remember the first night in a big room with all my friends, ... it was always a lot of fun for us boys, but not as much for the chaperones or staff. It seems like this will be a good and easy group of kids, but I remember when I was a kid we all kept goofing around until one of the nuns started crying in a nervous outbreak, or the many pranks we played with toothpaste and water as soon as someone fell asleep. But I also remember some chaperones reading stories, or getting us excited to play board games in secret after lights out (it was all a ruse in hindsight of course, but it kept us as quiet as possible, and satisfied our desire to break the rules?), or doing some very active games past dinner and before bed time so we would crash into bed talking about the exciting day while quickly falling asleep. In middle school, I also remember we were broken up in teams with some scoring system, and behavior at night was rewarded with more or less points... which egregiously backfired (but that's a story for a different post). So, do you have any tricks here? something that worked well for you? something that did not work?
- My guess is that for at least 30-40% of the kids it will be the first overnight experience without parents away from home. What can I do to make it easier or better for the kids? I don't see myself with my low voice, thick accent and lack of sense of humor give an inspiring pep talk, but I do have good memories of some of our leaders or chaperones breaking the ice at night with a good talk when getting changed for the first time, or just laying out the rules to make sure everyone was respectful - no matter the pajama style, morning routine, or need for a lovey - watching out for bullying, or generally being there if we needed help.

I am an international student. I finished ISEP courses to allow entry into the finance diploma. In the beginning, I got a condition acceptance if I passed ISEP courses. Fortunately, I passed it.
In the first year, I met a lot of problems in English, such as I could not understand the questions' meaning and read slowly. That's the reason I cannot get high grades in the first year. I think the first-year courses are easy. Especially I got a higher GPA at the second level (semester). At the same time, my classmates get high grades in most of my courses. They didn't prepare and review for exams but still got high grades. I knew some courses they didn't need to read and review to get high grades, such as organizational behavior.
Coming to the second year, things became different. Financial accounting, cost accounting, and taxation failed half of my set. Especially for the taxation 2 courses, my set only had half students were allowed to attend. I believe there were some failed, some dropped it. I just tell you what I saw in the courses.
I passed all courses at one time (no drop and no failed) but with a low GPA. I don't think I am smart. But I knew some classmates become busy for some other reasons, might be lazy, or have other jobs.
Funny story, on the first day of my finance diploma. I have 28 students. At the day ceremony, only 4 students were my original set from the first day. I believe there were around 6 or 7 students who finished all courses on time. Most of them need to do summer courses to retake some courses to pass or spend more time on second-year courses.
Then I went to BBA. To be honest, I don't like BBA courses. When I took financial accounting and other tough courses, I felt I learned a lot, and the things I learned were worth my tuition. However, BBA I felt it is a comprehensive project. It gives you everything a little. I took a money and banking course when I was in finance diploma. But I need to retake the same book and the same teacher again in the BBA program. I asked if I could transfer credits for the same courses, and they said no. Even more, the BBA money and banking course is easier than the one I took in the finance diploma. I asked the reason, she told me this knowledge was from the HR program, they didn't know the knowledge before. That's the reason it seems easier than the one I took in finance. The same thing happened in the Applied Strategic Management course, HR learned it before, but it's pretty hard for finance students. It seems everyone had a "case study" before, but finance didn't. However, the option I chose, Business Intelligence and Value Management is useful for analyzing jobs if you want.

- I talked to a bank recruiter, and he told me they will hire people who worked at McDonald's rather than zero working experience students who just graduated from BCIT.
- A teacher told me that jobs need CFA, and the CPA holders might be able to do it. But CFA holders might not do the CPA jobs.
- An investment bank worker told me that investment banks will not come to hire students at the BCIT campus. They will go to UBC.
- You are supposed to have work experience when you graduate.
- If you got a pay cheque of $1,000 every month and an 80% overall GPA during your full-time studies. You will get hired by the top 4 accounting firms.

I am a black woman, 19. I was raised in, and still live in, an environment with a very low black population. I have reflected on how this was why I generally preferred white, white passing, or generally non-black boys in elementary and middle school. In 9th grade, this started to change somewhat, as I had my longest strongest ever crush on a 1/2 black 1/2 white boy who was slightly above average looking (he was a bad person/definitely did not have good morals although he seemed to notice me when I was depressed and this was why I came to like him so much. My older brother had entered into rehab earlier that year, and I was having an extremely hard time mentally after realizing that my parents had been abusive toward my brother. I started to resent both of my parents in high school and saw a therapist from 9th-12th grade.)
I do have internalized racism, and I know this. I think that I am absolutely better about this than I was in middle school, though, and now that I am actually an adult I have more of a desire to meet other black people and learn more about black culture.
My father is an unintelligent alcoholic, who threatened to physically abuse my brother when he was a child. I have $11100 saved and should have $12000 or close to it by the end of this month. I still live with my parents in the apartment complex I grew up in and am itchy right now because we have bugs in here a fair amount. I’ve been particularly depressed recently - I think I’m realizing that things for my family may never truly get better (my father is as dumb as I said he was. If we are ever kicked out of our apartment complex, we have nothing to fall back on. I actively make an effort to not think about what my brother grew up in because it makes me even more depressed, and I figure that it’s not healthy.)
I went out with a black boy in high school. I talked the way I probably truly sound around him (no code switching, dated December 2021-March 2022.) He pointed out that I never said the n word or seemed comfortable with saying it. He was right. Even now, I feel weird and extremely uncomfortable saying it or thinking it and just don’t want to.
Whenever I’m not working (am an educator,) I watch “Laverne and Shirley,” “twilight zone,” or more recently Star Trek tos (I saw the first episode tonight and hope to see more of it.) I take community college courses but don’t know what I want to major in. I generally watch videos from retrotvcentral daily. I am reading “Carrie” by Stephen king but am reading it very slowly because I’ve become lazy
I believe that being overweight is a bad thing (bad for your health. I know this may be a fatphobic comment, but I think being overweight makes a woman average, and if I were overweight I would make an effort to lose the weight even if especially depressed.)

Yes. ISIS does exactly what Muhammad did in the 7th century. And it also adopts a lot of what the subsequent “rightly guided” caliphs did. Because after all, ISIS is a Salafi organization (Salaf- as in “Al-Salaf Al-Saleh” = the rightly guided predecessors - referring to the four “rightly guided” caliphs following Muhammad).

Asma was a poetess who belonged to a tribe of Medinan pagans, and whose husband was named Yazid b. Zayd. She composed a poem blaming the Medinan pagans for obeying a stranger (Muhammad) and for not taking the initiative to attack him by surprise. When the Allah-inspired prophet heard what she had said, he asked, "Who will rid me of Marwan’s daughter?" A member of her husband’s tribe volunteered and crept into her house that night. She had five children, and the youngest was sleeping at her breast. The assassin gently removed the child, drew his sword, and plunged it into her, killing her in her sleep.
The following morning, the assassin defied anyone to take revenge. No one took him up on his challenge, not even her husband. In fact, Islam became powerful among his tribe. Previously, some members who had kept their conversion secret now became Muslims openly, "because they saw the power of Islam," conjectures Ibn Ishaq.

Al-Aswad was assassinated because he claimed that he was a prophet, after coming out of the Khubban cave. He was killed a day or two before Mohammed's death.

I am a black woman, 19. I was raised in, and still live in, an environment with a very low black population. I have reflected on how this was why I generally preferred white, white passing, or generally non-black boys in elementary and middle school. In 9th grade, this started to change somewhat, as I had my longest strongest ever crush on a 1/2 black 1/2 white boy who was slightly above average looking (he was a bad person/definitely did not have good morals although he seemed to notice me when I was depressed and this was why I came to like him so much. My older brother had entered into rehab earlier that year, and I was having an extremely hard time mentally after realizing that my parents had been abusive toward my brother. I started to resent both of my parents in high school and saw a therapist from 9th-12th grade.)
I do have internalized racism, and I know this. I think that I am absolutely better about this than I was in middle school, though, and now that I am actually an adult I have more of a desire to meet other black people and learn more about black culture.

I’ve been particularly depressed recently - I think I’m realizing that things for my family may never truly get better (my father is as dumb as I said he was. If we are ever kicked out of our apartment complex, we have nothing to fall back on. I actively make an effort to not think about what my brother grew up in because it makes me even more depressed, and I figure that it’s not healthy.)
I went out with a black boy in high school. I talked the way I probably truly sound around him (no code switching, dated December 2021-March 2022.) He pointed out that I never said the n word or seemed comfortable with saying it. He was right. Even now, I feel weird and extremely uncomfortable saying it or thinking it and just don’t want to.
Whenever I’m not working (am an educator,) I watch “Laverne and Shirley,” “twilight zone,” or more recently Star Trek tos (I saw the first episode tonight and hope to see more of it.) I take community college courses but don’t know what I want to major in. I generally watch videos from retrotvcentral daily. I am reading “Carrie” by Stephen king but am reading it very slowly because I’ve become lazy
I believe that being overweight is a bad thing (bad for your health. I know this may be a fatphobic comment, but I think being overweight makes a woman average, and if I were overweight I would make an effort to lose the weight even if especially depressed.)

I recently brought home the Trexonic Retro Wireless Bluetooth Record and CD Player in Turquoise, and it's been a real nostalgic trip. To be honest, I was initially drawn to its sleek and retro design. Little did I know that it would turn out to be a music treasure trove.
Its three-speed record player with the capability to play all my vinyl records and albums certainly took me back to the good old days. Plus, the built-in Bluetooth and wireless streaming made it easy for me to enjoy my modern music seamlessly. A unique highlight is its ability to record from vinyl to MP3 via USB - a feature that I personally haven't tried out yet, but it's nice to have.

So yeah I'm a program coordinator at our local YMCA and I run an after-school program (effectively am a glorified babysitter hahaha). This past school year I passively mentioned that I play a lot of DnD when one of the kids asked me if I had any plans that weekend, and it totally piqued their interest when I explained to them what the game was like/about. Naturally they asked if they could try and play and I figured sure why not, I'll write a fun and fam friendly one-shot for them.
They all absolutely loved it. It's turned into a proper campaign with about 7 of the 24 kids me and my coworkers look after consistently playing. I've had to limit the sessions to just 1-2 days of the 5 day school week, because I have other kids too that aren't interested in it, and I obviously still need to give them attention and interaction as well (and as you know DnD can be a very engaged and attention demanding). I thought this was a fair compromise. Days that it's nice outside we are always out running around, being active, playing sports -- but if it's a rainy day, or on our weekly Friday Movie Day, we generally play. It's been such a blast sharing something I love so deeply with kids who I care about so much.
So here comes the issue:
Almost every parent of the core group that plays loves that we are doing this (one even plays weekly and we bonded over it haha), but there is one child whose parents certainly do not; they want their kid just constantly active and engaged and playing sports, not playing "silly make believe", which I guess I get to a degree because this is kinda the MO of the YMCA traditionally; healthy active living.
I've explained that most days of the week we do just that, and that this is something we only do on Fridays or rain days when we are stuck inside, but they aren't budging. I think they have a misguided idea of the game and what it is, or maybe they are just fundamentally against it, I'm not sure. I don't think it's to the level of like the era of thought where media and the masses thought DnD was some kind of satanic game, but I feel like there could certainly be a bit of that.
Anyway they want it to stop immediately. I've told them I'm not forcing anyone to play, and that if they really feel that way they are within their rights to tell their child they don't want him playing, but they are trying to take it a step farther and get it banned. ALSO I would feel horrible if this child were forbade from playing while all his friends have a blast doing so. Just doesn't seem right.
I understand that it's a game that can involve more mature themes and gameplay, and probably isn't reeeeeeeeally for super young folk, but I feel the way I'm running it mitigates this for the most part: there's no PVP (so no bullying can happen), I'm dealing with waaaaaay less serious themes and stakes, and I don't even include any circumstances where they fight any other humanoids -- strictly just heroes fighting big bad monsters and saving towns. You know the drill.
So yeah long story short(ish) the parents of the one child have called a meeting with HR to discuss the playing of this game at the YMCA. I have it on Sunday. I'm confident I'm gonna have to effectively state my case and explain why I think this is not only an okay thing to be doing, but actually in fact a good thing. I don't know if I'll be able to fully sway them if their mind is already made up, all I can do is just speak my truth haha.
I do whole-heartedly think this game can be super beneficial for young folk. I'll spare you my long form thoughts, but between the teamwork and communication required and rewarded, the problem solving (both ethically and logically and mathematically), AND the improvisation emphasized, I think it stimulates a young mind very well. Lets them escape their own world for a bit and take agency and feel they have control, something young people so desperately desire.
So in conclusion, I'm kinda just writing this to get it off of my chest and vent, BUT I guess my questions would be:

Made a post a few days ago about how I run a DnD campaign for some kids in an after-school program I run for the YMCA, and subsequently how the parents of one of the kids was trying to get the game banned and whole operation shut down. I wasn't sure the best way to make an update, but I linked the whole original post above so you can have a read if you'd like ^
So firstly genuine genuine genuine big thanks to everyone who took the time to read and respond with input and suggestions. It means a ton and really helped a lot. So I'm just gonna jump right in with what happened.
Firstly, I took the advice about getting testimonies from parents who were super happy that I was playing this game with their kids -- we weren't allowed to have outside visitors involved in the actual meeting with HR, but I got emails and messages from mostly every parent (besides the one complaining about it lmao) to voice their support and why they think this is not a harmful thing, and in fact actually a good thing. I really think this helped a lot and was a big factor, so thanks everyone who suggested. It's not something I would've thought to do on my own ahahah.
I didn't want to come in toooooo heavy with the articles and very clear scientific proof about the benefits of developing minds playing TTRPGs', because (as it turned out) this was actually more just conversational and "pleasant" than I thought it was gonna be, at least from HRs side. I did mention to them the multiple studies done on this exact scenario, but it turned out I didn't even really need them. There were definitely moments of tension, but this was a more civil conversation than I anticipated from all parties involved. I'm not sure if it was the fact that the parents who complained had to talk to me in person WITH my bosses and HR reps present and it calmed them down a bit? But yeah anyway.
I wish it was a more dramatic story, but basically I just levelled with them person to person.
People who said they were betting on it being a Christian, satanic-panic angle: you were right, mostly anyway. As in, that was definitely a main part of their argument. They are in fact Christian and were concerned, but it was really coming from a place of ignorance about what this game is about, and they specifically didn't understand the fact that the DM (me) can entirely control what the contents of it is. I'm assuming they just googled DnD and probably saw some things they didn't agree with, but once I explained that the way we were playing it included no demon spawn or worshipping, or any killing of other humans, or allowing of murder-hobo activity, they softened up a bit. I told them it's a strictly G/PG rated experience that I'm curating for them. And of course I explained the social and academic benefits of DnD, and how much of a bonding activity this is for the group, and how much their son in particular loves it. This helped big time.
Ironically, it was their other argument about wanting active engagement for their child (ie; sports lol) that was a little harder to combat. From their and HRs perspective, this whole program and the YMCAs MO IS in fact healthy active engagement. I explained that most days of the week we are doing just that. I'm a tennis instructor as well and have played sports all my life (and they know this), so I tried to assure them that I get their child a SOLID amount of engagement (plus free tennis lessons effectively haha). I'll save you the whole back and forth, but this was a majority of our 45 minute meeting.
Im trying to wrap this up with a bow but not sure exactly how, so I'll just finish with the bullet points from the end of the discussion:
• The game is not banned! HOORAY HOORAY!
• I am now only allowed to play it with them once a week (on Friday), but all things considered I'll take this as a win!
• and best of all, the complained parents are letting their kid continue to play!!!! I'm sending them a detailed summary of the contents of my game so they can look it over, but they said with it now "officially" only being once a week, and with a better understanding of what it actually is, they will let him to continue to play. I'm so unbelievably happy.
So boom. Happy ending. Again big thanks to everyone for giving their advice and linking resources; it helped so much and meant a lot. This is a big win for "the community" I feel, at the risk of sounding too corny. You are all the best. I love this game so much 🥹

I know it is a hassle, but if you get to keep Dnd, you might want to start requiring permission slips. That way, you could avoid this in the future.The_Law_Of_Pizza
~This will make it less likely for the OP to get a surprise angry parent, but I don't like the precedent of demanding permission slips for a mundane board game.
It sets up an expectation that D&D is different in some way, and gives ammunition to these weirdos who are still trapped in the Satanic Panic - it lets them point to the permission slips and say, "Look, even your own policies admit that this is something to be hidden behind barriers and parental approval."
At a certain point we have to stand up to these people in society and tell them that they're being ridiculous and that we won't concede to their demands under any circumstances. That takes a great deal of backbone by the YMCA administration, though.

Made a post a few days ago about how I run a DnD campaign for some kids in an after-school program I run for the YMCA, and subsequently how the parents of one of the kids was trying to get the game banned and whole operation shut down. I wasn't sure the best way to make an update, but I linked the whole original post above so you can have a read if you'd like ^
So firstly genuine genuine genuine big thanks to everyone who took the time to read and respond with input and suggestions. It means a ton and really helped a lot. So I'm just gonna jump right in with what happened.
Firstly, I took the advice about getting testimonies from parents who were super happy that I was playing this game with their kids -- we weren't allowed to have outside visitors involved in the actual meeting with HR, but I got emails and messages from mostly every parent (besides the one complaining about it lmao) to voice their support and why they think this is not a harmful thing, and in fact actually a good thing. I really think this helped a lot and was a big factor, so thanks everyone who suggested. It's not something I would've thought to do on my own ahahah.
I didn't want to come in toooooo heavy with the articles and very clear scientific proof about the benefits of developing minds playing TTRPGs', because (as it turned out) this was actually more just conversational and "pleasant" than I thought it was gonna be, at least from HRs side. I did mention to them the multiple studies done on this exact scenario, but it turned out I didn't even really need them. There were definitely moments of tension, but this was a more civil conversation than I anticipated from all parties involved. I'm not sure if it was the fact that the parents who complained had to talk to me in person WITH my bosses and HR reps present and it calmed them down a bit? But yeah anyway.
I wish it was a more dramatic story, but basically I just levelled with them person to person.
People who said they were betting on it being a Christian, satanic-panic angle: you were right, mostly anyway. As in, that was definitely a main part of their argument. They are in fact Christian and were concerned, but it was really coming from a place of ignorance about what this game is about, and they specifically didn't understand the fact that the DM (me) can entirely control what the contents of it is. I'm assuming they just googled DnD and probably saw some things they didn't agree with, but once I explained that the way we were playing it included no demon spawn or worshipping, or any killing of other humans, or allowing of murder-hobo activity, they softened up a bit. I told them it's a strictly G/PG rated experience that I'm curating for them. And of course I explained the social and academic benefits of DnD, and how much of a bonding activity this is for the group, and how much their son in particular loves it. This helped big time.
Ironically, it was their other argument about wanting active engagement for their child (ie; sports lol) that was a little harder to combat. From their and HRs perspective, this whole program and the YMCAs MO IS in fact healthy active engagement. I explained that most days of the week we are doing just that. I'm a tennis instructor as well and have played sports all my life (and they know this), so I tried to assure them that I get their child a SOLID amount of engagement (plus free tennis lessons effectively haha). I'll save you the whole back and forth, but this was a majority of our 45 minute meeting.
Im trying to wrap this up with a bow but not sure exactly how, so I'll just finish with the bullet points from the end of the discussion:
• The game is not banned! HOORAY HOORAY!
• I am now only allowed to play it with them once a week (on Friday), but all things considered I'll take this as a win!
• and best of all, the complained parents are letting their kid continue to play!!!! I'm sending them a detailed summary of the contents of my game so they can look it over, but they said with it now "officially" only being once a week, and with a better understanding of what it actually is, they will let him to continue to play. I'm so unbelievably happy.
So boom. Happy ending. Again big thanks to everyone for giving their advice and linking resources; it helped so much and meant a lot. This is a big win for "the community" I feel, at the risk of sounding too corny. You are all the best. I love this game so much 🥹

So the method I've taken is that this is mainly an explorative and mystery solving campaign. There is combat occasionally, but it's heeeeeavy on the RP aspect of these aforementioned things (aka 7 kids screaming over each other lmao)THIS IS A REPOST SUB - I AM NOT THE OOP
I briefly mentioned in the previous post that when I do involve combat I don't include any that js player versus any humanoids -- so no "killing" of bandits or raiders or pirates or anything resembling, it's strictly taking out big bad monsters, or a big spidebats/owlbear or whatever when it does happen. This takes a big amount of the potential nastiness out: Timmy cant go home saying "Mom I killed 4 dudes today!", regardless if he understands the deeply political and socio-economic rooted reasons why it may be justified he did that 🙄 hahahah.
So yeah eliminated that entirely, strayed away from words like "kill" or "dead" or certainly "murdered", and have a very very "heroes save the town from mishaps" type adventure. For a quick example our last plot hook/beat (which ended up taking up like 3 Fridays because of how long it can take with young kids hahaha) involved them stumbling into a town and discovering that it holds the map to an ancient treasure that is rumoured to be buried in a magical woods nearby. Maaaaaany puzzles and skill checks later they found it deep in the woods by a magic tree and had to answer (very basic) riddles from the speaking and living tree in order to get access to it. They succeeded and absolutely loved it and there was no combat at all.

- I want to be a Firefighter, where do I start: Every Country/State/Province/County/City/Department has different requirements. Some require you only to put in an application. Others require certifications prior to being hired. A good place to start is researching the department(s) you want to join. Visit their website, check their requirements, and/or stop into one of their fire stations to ask some questions.
- Am I too old: Many departments, typically career municipal ones, have an age limit. Volunteer departments usually don't. Check each department's requirements.
- I'm in high school, What can I do: Does your local department have an explorer's program or post? If so, join up. Otherwise, focus on your grades, get in shape and stay in shape, and most importantly: stay out of trouble.
- I got in trouble for [insert infraction here], what are my chances: Obviously, worse than someone with a clean record, which will be the vast majority of your competition. Tickets and nonviolent misdemeanors may not be a factor, but a major crime (felonies), may take you out of the running. You might be a nice person, but some departments don't make exceptions, especially if there's a long line of applicants with clean records. See this post... PSA: Stop asking “what are my chances?”
- I have [insert medical/mental health condition here], will it disqualify me: As a general rule, if you are struggling with mental illness, adding the stress of a fire career is not a good idea. As for medical conditions, you can look up NFPA1582 for disqualifying conditions, but in general, this is not something Reddit can answer for you. Many conditions require the input of a medical professional to determine if they are disqualifying. See this post... PSA: Don't disqualify yourself, make THEM tell you "no".
- What will increase my chances of getting hired: If there's a civil service exam, study for it! There are many guides online that will help you go over all those things you forgot such as basic math and reading. Some cities even give you a study guide. If it's a firefighter exam, study for it! For the CPAT (Physical Fitness Test), cardio is arguably the most important factor. If you're going to the gym for the first time during the hiring process, you're fighting an uphill battle. Get in shape and stay in shape. Most cities offer preference points to military veterans.
- How do I prepare for an interview: Interviews can be one-on-one, or in front of a board/panel. Many generic guides exist to help one prepare for an interview, however here are a few good tips:
- Dress appropriately. Business casual at a minimum (Button down, tucked in long sleeve shirt with slacks and a belt, and dress shoes). Get a decent haircut and shave.
- Practice interview questions with a friend. You can't accurately predict the off-the-wall questions they will ask, but you can practice the ones you know they probably will, like why do you want to be a Firefighter, or why should we hire you?
- Scrub your social media. Gone are the days when people in charge weren't tech-savvy. Don't have a perfect interview only for your chances of being hired gone to zero because your Facebook or Instagram has pictures of you getting blitzed. Set that stuff to private and leave it that way.

General tips and answers to Frequently Asked Questions:
- NEVER feed non-farmable monsters! (you can feed dupes for skill ups)
- Save your devilmons! In general you do not want to give devilmon to 4* units, Sigmarus and Jeanne are the best early game candidates. Veromos does not need devilmon.
- Best summon stone targets: Tyron, Lushen, Shaina, Sabrina, Talia. For PvP Khmun, Skogul, Galleon.
- Check the events for free energy, mana, and other beneficial stuff. To find the current event pages use the button below the energy/mana counter in-game.
- Lapis can farm Faimon Hell on the free 6* level 15 vampire/revenge runes provided by the challenges. She should be your first 5* and probably 6* as well.
- Shield sets can reduce the HP/DEF requirements on other units and multiple shield sets will stack to form one larger total shield. Each set contributes a shield equal to 15% of the base HP of the monster they are equipped on.
- White artifacts from B2 are cheap to upgrade and can give you a massive stat boost early.
- Hall of Heroes (HoH) should be attempted as high as you can climb. Reps like Rica or Verad can help a lot. Mid/late game players can get 5 extra copies of the HoH monster using almighty scroll pieces after each floor at the small cost of 2000 guild points for each extra monster.
- Most nat 5*s are PvP exclusive and should be set aside in storage till you make some progress on PvE. Some exceptions are CC units like Rica for ToA, cleansers like Anavel for starter R5, and Perna for rifts.
- Dimensional hole energy should be spent as soon as possible, always try to stay under the energy cap (recharge rate: 1 per 2h). 2A Kro first, then Spectra or Raoq.

So for context, i'm not really fluent in english so sorry if there are grammar mistakes, i'm trying my best, also this story isn't as heavy as some of the stories i've read here, but i want to share my story if someone is currently going through something similar. So I (20 M) graduated from high school a couple years ago after spending 14 years in the same school, the reason is that in my country school is from kindergarden to senior year in the same institution. I arrived when i was 4 years old, since i was little i was described as a shy empathetic boy with a heart of gold, and it was really difficult for me to play with other kids or being included. Through elementary my life was pretty bad for me, for example, when we had to play as a group, my classmates would pick on me for being too slow and would purposely pick me to chase them in games and mock me for the rest of the day, while calling me gay or too soft for "simple jokes", though they knew that it wasn't funny for me and made me cry many times, i was most of the time alone, and if i was with somebody they would mock me. 5th grade was literally hell for me, that year i met this guy, let's call him "Aaron". Aaron was the new boy in school, a really sweet, rebel and extroverted boy, and i was really mesmerized by him, causing to have a crush, i won't lie. Since day 1 in school, we became really close, we passed many time together, we hanged out on both houses, this dude included me in everything, treated me like a human for the first time and was really nice, until he started hanging out with the group of boys that bullied me, and basically his personality made a 180° turn, and he became cruel, making the same cruel jokes, leaving me alone and making me feel like shit. I had such a crush in him that i stayed "friends" with my bullies, just because i couldn't bare being alone.
The relationship with those guys was tought for me, most of them when they didn't ignored me completly, they treated me like their "little brother that they can pick on", they made plans without me, made fun of my hobbies and made faces when i would be on their team
This "friendships" changed when i went to a schooltrip to the forest, where i was with this group, i didn't really had a choice, it was either bunking with them or not going. The first night i had an anxiety attack and felt really sick, and i think that was one of the few times where this group of guys finally treated me like a decent human or even a friend, they helped me calm down, held my head while i cried my heart out and even came out of the closet with them. It was the first time in years i felt included and a human, and for the rest of 2018 and most of 2019 i had a relationship where this guys and the rest of my classmates treated me like a person and cared for me.
When we got to the pandemic and came back to school in 2021, all my classmates started ignoring me, Sometimes there were good and funny moments, but usually they left me alone or ignored me during breaks, and they showed that they were friends (hugged each other or had a lot of trust in eachother), and i wanted to meet them better and i tried to socialize more, but when i tries to join the conversation, there were smiles and awkward conversations by almost everyone, and if I said something abouf feeling left out or feeling like the odd one out of the class, i was told that i was too fragile, too sensitive, I was the one who had to integrate and change.
Many times i arrived home crying because i was left out of a hang out, or watched in stories on IG friends going to parties, or that they would talk about those events knowing that i didn't knew anything before and without adding me. You can't get over the fact of coming home wanting to cry because you weren't included on conversations or parties or creating lies for my parents that I had been part of an anecdote that I only witnessed as basically a camera. I felt like a camera in my own life.
Now writing this, i remember some messed up things some of my classmates said in front of me. Like: - Aaron: "You know OP? If you died i wouldn't be that affected, i have more friends and i would quickly forget you" - Classmate: "oh (OP name) is really cool, i really like him". Then they would look at me and say: oh no (OP) not you, the cool (OP name)
Nowadays, i remember those experiences and feel a lot of pain, maybe i could have tried more and maybe i'm wrong? I hate feeling like even now when i have a healthy group of friends in college, i have to deal with the memories of being left out or ignored and blamed for it
I'm confused and don't know if i was toxic or if my classmates were the ones and i was right for cutting them off my life Thanks for reading

By some miracle, they were still alive.

You know, being chased by monsters from New York to Long Island, passing out in between attacks and then waking up in the Medic Cabin feeling like you've been hit by a truck and maimed by a cat at the same time was, in short, not fun. It also didn't help the fact that he had to stay in bed to get treated for what, hours. Which, for someone like Taylor, was absolute torture. Good for him then that demigods, apparently, had magic healing and he didn't have to stay for days instead. At least Oleander was around to explain every detail about the world he's been thrust into now that he was out of danger. And as a plus, he was also claimed, so yay! He had no clue who Techne was, but he was sure he would learn soon enough.
So, what does Taylor do after getting patched up? Does he wait and rest for a bit just to make sure everything is okay with him? Does he stop for a moment to process everything that has happened to him in the last 24 hours?
No! Of course not! This is Taylor, after all. Him staying put for more than 10 minutes would be a miracle already.

It almost seemed like all the monsters decided to wait until they were close to their destination to suddenly appear one after the other. First they had to somehow avoid a cyclops. Then they were attacked by dracanaea. And finally, they were chased by harpies until they crossed the border of Camp Half-Blood.
By some miracle, they were still alive.
What a way to be introduced to demigod life.
Present Day

You know, being chased by monsters from New York to Long Island, passing out in between attacks and then waking up in the Medic Cabin feeling like you've been hit by a truck and maimed by a cat at the same time was, in short, not fun. It also didn't help the fact that he had to stay in bed to get treated for what, hours. Which, for someone like Taylor, was absolute torture. Good for him then that demigods, apparently, had magic healing and he didn't have to stay for days instead. At least Oleander was around to explain every detail about the world he's been thrust into now that he was out of danger. And as a plus, he was also claimed, so yay! He had no clue who Techne was, but he was sure he would learn soon enough.
So, what does Taylor do after getting patched up? Does he wait and rest for a bit just to make sure everything is okay with him? Does he stop for a moment to process everything that has happened to him in the last 24 hours?
No! Of course not! This is Taylor, after all. Him staying put for more than 10 minutes would be a miracle already.
Instead, he just went off on his own to see what this Camp Half-Blood was all about. He just had to get to his cabin first, which would be relatively easy with Oleander's instructions, and then he could explore this place to his heart's content!
Hopefully, Camp Half-Blood would be ready for the chaotic force Taylor would prove to be.

Being Silenced or Stunned temporarily disables this aura.
