🔗CHanel Chance Eau Tendre Travel Set

https://preview.redd.it/z8ya1lnzri1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=967dbfce76d320ccd42e18ef6f4426a12681d8f7
I was excited to give CHANEL's Chance Eau Tendre eau de toilette a try after hearing good things about it. The first thing that impressed me was the packaging. It came in a beautiful box that perfectly encapsulated the elegance I associated with the brand.
The scent itself is a delightful mix of fresh and fruity notes. It's mostly dominated by grapefruit and quince, with hints of jasmine and white musk in the background. I found it to be very pleasant – light enough for daily use but also unique enough to stand out from other fragrances I've tried.
One feature that stood out to me was the twist-and-spray atomizer. It made applying the perfume super easy and convenient, especially when I was on the go. However, I did wish the scent lingered a bit longer. On some days, I felt I had to reapply after 3-4 hours because it wore off.
Despite this minor issue, I absolutely loved this product. The combination of its fresh scent and ease of application made it a must-have in my beauty routine. Plus, the twist-and-spray atomizer ensured that I could take it anywhere without worrying about spills or leaks.
In conclusion, whether you're buying it for yourself or as a gift, CHANEL's Chance Eau Tendre eau de toilette is definitely worth considering. Its radiant scent and user-friendly design make it stand out from other perfumes on the market.

🔗Chanel Chance Eau Tendre Eau de Parfum Set for Classic Everyday Scents

https://preview.redd.it/n3z7lz20si1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9dbc93018ac60895dc7dc530fcb98598145350c3
Chance Chanel is my go-to perfume for any occasion. From the moment I spritzed it on, I was transported to a world of elegance and sophistication. The delicate floral scent, with its hints of jasmine and rose, is simply divine. What's even better is that this perfume has great longevity, lasting all day without being overpowering. Not only do I get countless compliments when I wear it, but it also makes me feel confident and radiant. The packaging is nothing short of stunning – a sleek glass bottle adorned with the iconic double-C logo, a true symbol of timeless beauty and elegance. If you're looking for a perfume that embodies femininity with a touch of Chanel's signature sophistication, Chance Chanel Eau Tendre is definitely worth a try. "
Its standout feature is the beautiful blend of floral and fruity notes, which creates a scent that is both fresh and romantic. The top notes of grapefruit and quince are zesty and uplifting, while the heart of the fragrance is dominated by delicate jasmine and hyacinth. The base notes add a warm and comforting touch with their hints of musk, amber, and cedarwood. The packaging is equally impressive – a simple yet elegant design with the iconic Chanel logo.
However, I must admit that I had a slightly disappointing experience with one particular purchase of this perfume. The scent of the new bottle was nothing like the product I had been using for years, which was a real let-down. Fortunately, the customer service team at Sephora were quick to replace the faulty bottle, but it's something to be aware of if you decide to purchase this perfume.
Overall, though, Chance Chanel Eau Tendre is a beautiful fragrance that is perfect for anyone who loves a soft and romantic scent. Its longevity is impressive, and the packaging is classic and timeless. If you're looking for a delicate and feminine perfume that will make you feel confident and radiant, then this one is definitely worth trying.

🔗Vintage Chanel No. 19 Parfum 1980s Sealed W/Box

https://preview.redd.it/r8ug3yj0si1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31fed88f9bdc479a8e1256e95dd368c4e44ba0a4
I recently got my hands on a vintage bottle of Chanel No. 19 Parfum. Upon opening it, I was instantly transported back to the era of classic perfumes. This fragrance is unlike any modern interpretation of No. 19 that I've come across in recent years.
The top notes are dominated by aldehydes, bergamot, galbanum, neroli, and hyacinth, giving it an uplifting and fresh scent. The heart notes reveal a harmonious blend of jasmine, rose de mai, lily of the valley, orris, and Nossi-Be ylang ylang, which adds a beautiful floral touch.
What sets this apart is the base notes: oakmoss, vetiver, sandalwood, leather, and musk. They create a rich, warm, and sensual aroma that lasts on your skin for hours. This old-school formula is practically impossible to find today, as it has been replaced by lighter and more commercially acceptable versions of No. 19.
The bottle itself is a visual treat, with its hand-sealed wax seal and near mint condition box. Although this particular bottle is no longer sealed due to an unfortunate shattering of the wax seal, the fragrance within remains as potent as ever.
One downside is the mottled stickers on the inner box and bottle. This age-related discoloration is common in many 1970s perfumes, but it might not appeal to everyone's taste. However, this small flaw does not affect the quality or potency of the fragrance itself.
In summary, the Vintage Chanel No. 19 Parfum evokes a sense of nostalgia and glamour with its complex, rich, and timeless scent. While the packaging may show some signs of age, the enchanting aroma that envelops you upon application more than compensates for it.

🔗Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Twist and Spray Set

https://preview.redd.it/6o6ydnu0si1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=45d4c89e540481c9c20a601512386c3a9880b553
My experience with the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Twist and Spray Set has been quite pleasant. The elegant and chic design of the bottle, along with the twist and spray atomizer, makes it convenient and sophisticated enough to carry around in my purse.
The scent is not overpowering, but it's noticeable and lasts throughout the day. It's the perfect combination of sweet floral notes and deep earthy undertones. I find myself getting compliments from others whenever I wear it, which is always a nice bonus.
One of the highlights of this set is the refillable twist-and-spray atomizer. Not only does it save on packaging and reduce waste, but it also allows me to take my favorite fragrance with me wherever I go.
However, there have been a few instances where the scent didn't last as long as I'd hoped. It seems to vary depending on the weather, with the fragrance not lasting as long in hot or humid conditions.
Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a high-quality, long-lasting, and versatile fragrance. The twist and spray atomizer adds an extra level of convenience and portability, making it perfect for travel or on-the-go application.

🔗Coco Mademoiselle Intense: A Captivating Fragrance for Women

https://preview.redd.it/0akby071si1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6c16df6684900a361b936a4a45f78c09042d172d
I recently stumbled upon the Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Intense by Chanel and added it to my daily routine. From the moment I spritzed it on, I knew it was something special. Featuring top notes of bergamot and mandarin orange, it offers an invigorating aroma right off the bat. The middle notes of jasmine and Turkish rose give it a pleasant fragrance that lingers throughout the day, while the base notes of vanilla and patchouli add a sense of depth and elegance.
One thing I truly appreciate about this EDP is its longevity. With just a few sprays, the fragrance lasts for hours, gradually releasing its alluring scent. I remember attending a formal event where I received multiple compliments on how captivating my scent was - and it was all thanks to the Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Intense!
Another highlight is the packaging. The sleek bottle design, with its timeless black label, perfectly captures the essence of the Coco Chanel brand. It's a beautiful addition to any perfume collection or a perfect gift for that special someone in your life.
However, I must note that fragrances are subjective. Some might not find this scent to their liking due to its unique blend of notes. My advice? Test it out on your skin or try a sample first before making a purchase.
In conclusion, the Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Intense by Chanel has become a staple in my daily routine, providing me with an invigorating aroma and a timeless sense of elegance. It's definitely worth a try if you're looking for an exquisite scent that stands the test of time.

🔗Ladies' Chanel No. 19 Eau de Toilette 100ml

https://preview.redd.it/qjhepjq1si1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a6ca651c92de6ec376f8b9fa420496edcfa29369
As I dabbed on a few spritzes of this captivating scent, I couldn't help but feel a sudden surge of confidence and allure. The Chanel EDT No 19 is definitely a daring, distinctive fragrance that leaves a lasting impression. The floral-woody-green notes strike the perfect balance, making it an uncompromising composition, much like its wearer.
One aspect that I absolutely loved was the easy and fluent application. The eau de toilette in a spray format made it so convenient to lightly mist on my skin or even inside my clothing. Plus, the bath and body product range added an extra layer of enchantment to my daily perfuming ritual.
However, on the downside, some users might find the scent a bit strong for everyday use. It's more suitable for those who prefer bold, statement-making fragrances. Overall, the Chanel EDT No 19 is a powerful, captivating perfume that's perfect for those who aren't afraid to turn heads with their scent.

🔗Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum Spray for Men

https://preview.redd.it/5hjp7ly1si1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f544d2b10d5843f661716e6d040eabac62b1de53
Bleu de Chanel by Chanel is a bold and alluring scent that captures the essence of adventure and sophistication. I had the pleasure of trying out this Eau de Parfum Spray, and it quickly became a staple in my daily routine. As soon as I spritzed it on, I was transported to a world of fresh citrus and warm spices. The grapefruit note adds a refreshing zing, while the ginger and incense give it a mysterious depth.
One thing that stood out to me was the superb longevity of this fragrance. Even after a long day at work, the scent lingered on my skin, leaving me feeling confident and stylish. Additionally, the sleek and elegant design of the bottle made it a welcome addition to my vanity.
However, there are a couple of downsides worth mentioning. Firstly, the price point may be a bit steep for some consumers, but I believe the quality and performance of the product justify the cost. Secondly, while the fragrance is not overwhelmingly powerful, it does have a certain presence that may not be suitable for all occasions.
In conclusion, Bleu de Chanel by Chanel is a phenomenal Eau de Parfum Spray that truly deserves its high rating. Its unique blend of citrus, spice, and woody notes creates a captivating and timeless scent that is perfect for any season. If you're in search of a luxurious, long-lasting fragrance that turns heads and leaves a lasting impression, look no further than Bleu de Chanel.

🔗Coco Mademoiselle Parfum Spray Trio Set

https://preview.redd.it/6oumz3e2si1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1015cafb29e06f456ca6d376265179123267885d
Alright, let me tell you about this beautiful Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Twist and Spray 3 x 0.7 oz. Imagine getting ready in the morning and spritzing yourself with a divine scent that will stay with you all day, even when you're sipping cocktails at a rooftop bar? Yeah, that's the magic of this lovely perfume.
The first whiff you get will be bright and fruity, like a fresh burst of orange. Then, as the day progresses, it'll turn into a lovely combination of jasmine blossom and rose. The best part? The deep, earthy notes of patchouli that keep you smelling fresh and confident throughout the day.
However, like any product, there are some cons to consider. It's a bit on the pricey side, but hey, it's Chanel! If you're not used to strong scents, this might not be your cup of tea. And remember, a little goes a long way, so don't overdo it.
But overall, I absolutely adore this product. The packaging is luxurious and elegant, and it's perfect for travel. It's definitely worth the investment, and anyone who tries it will fall in love with it, just like I did. So go ahead, treat yourself to this divine concoction and prepare to be showered with compliments all day long!

2024.05.20 07:35 IdleIndy A111 EmTMA - Really struggling.

I'm currently trying to do my final TMA. I've been dreading this assignment ever since I first looked at it when I was exploring the module website back in October, and even now after doing the units involved I still am really struggling. I've gotten above 70% on all of my TMAs so far, I'm good at writing essays. The problem isn't that it's an interdisciplinary essay, nor that it requires 2000 words. The problem is that I have absolutely zero idea on how to write an essay for any of these three specific topics.
I tried writing an outline for all three options, but the only one I was able to complete an outline for was option three which leaves that as my only option really. Thing is, like I mentioned, I still am badly struggling to turn this into an essay. I feel like the issue is that I'm not really interested in any of these final topics, (I'm doing a111 because of creative writing mostly), and not being interested is making this assignment 10 times harder than my other assignments have been. For example, if it had have been a 2000 word inter-disciplinary essay on the architecture of the Gothic Revival, I would've been able to write it no problem. But it isn't unfortunately 🥲
It's not due for another 8 days, but I know for a fact that I'm not going to be able to write this essay and I can't ask my tutor for advice as it's TMA related. Has anyone else, even on other modules, experienced something similar? I'm just a little annoyed by myself is all, I know that I can write essays well, but the topics for this final TMA are horrible for me.

2024.05.20 07:05 cornxoxo1 I made a mistake and may have outed myself as taking testosterone. What should I do?

Hello! I am 20 years old. I don't live with my parents but my parents pay my rent. So still incredibly financially dependent. They also pay for my college and give me allowances for grocery's and things. In fact, I use that allowance to pay for doctor's visit's and my testosterone.
I have a website, a blog I created, to post poems and other personal writings. I made it in highnschool and would share it with close friends. I shared it with my mom. She ended up turning on post notifications so that whenever I post a new entry she would be updated. It was sweet, knowing she wanted to know how I felt about things... In that way.
Then today. She often accidentally genders me correctly. (I have a brother) So I say "He is fine." Almost like i'm warming her up to the idea haha...
I've come out to my family as nonbinary when I was around 16. My mom said she would never call me He.
So today when I said "He is fine." She said "can you stop saying that. I did not give birth to a he, I am not calling you that."
I fought back only slightly. I wasn't planning on nor prepared to come out to her in that moment.
My original plan was to take testosterone and until she started asking questions, say nothing. And when she did start asking questions I planned to answer them truthfully. As by that time the changes would had already really began to take effect.
All that to say, after the incident today. I went to my blog. I wrote something. Titled "You hate me. I know you hate me. You'll hate me once you find out what I've done."
Pretty dramatic lol I know but that's the whole point. I made a space for myself to express myself however I felt necessary. I mention the exact incident (meaning she knows I'm talking about her). One of the lines are "Today I thought I should never tell you. That I practiced voice training instead and just went to the gym a bunch. That will be easier for you. You'll hate me less."
I hit publish. Feeling relieved to have gotten these negative thoughts and emotion's off my chest. As well as honestly rethinking my speak until spoken to policy. Thinking, maybe I should lie for as long as I can.
Then later today I got a notification. Someone was on my website, reading that post. I knew, I instantly remembered. She gets notifications for when I post. I try to quickly delete and block her member profile. Trying to kick her from viewing it. Nothing works. I had set it up a while back so you put in a password before entering the site after a fall out with someone who had access to it, but I guess fot previous members it bypasses that.
Then I heard her walking up the stairs. I knew.
She comes in and closes the door, she never does that, and sit's on my bed. (I'm home for summer)
She tells me that she saw my post and asks if I think that she hates me. I say no, its nuance and that I forgot she got notifications for that. That she wasn't supposed to see it. It's not enough for her. She ask's what I did. I hesitate. I say "I came out as nonbinary before and (don't remember likely giberish) that's what I did is be who I am." I didn't know what to say. I'm not a good liar.
I have only been on testosterone for 5 weeks. I have got to therapy for a couple months discussing my gender and whether or not I wanted to start hormone replacement therapy. I have been contemplating it however, for around a year before starting therapy. I did this all by myself. I decided to tell my brother (37) after going to my consultation. He had his own reservations but he told me he loved me no matter what. He still misgenders me but his hearts in the right place and right now i'll take what I can get. My dad is the quiet type. He doesn't hold a lot of power in our household and is likely quiet because of it. I know i can't rely on him for any impactful support. I also have no idea whether there would be any.
I thought about calling my brother after it happened but he is ignorant on the matter. I don't know the lengths he would go to protect me. I am unsure and that scares me. I don't have any trans friends on HRT who could advise me.
I remember at my consultation my doctor expressed real concern for whether I had a supportive family unit or not. I told him I don't think my mother would could me off or disown me (she's the breadwinner) but thats when I was under the impression that I would have full control over when and how I would tell her.
Now. I am feeling that fear a bit stronger. I am gunning for my PHD in psychology. I live in an apartment near campus. I am extremely privileged. Although, my relationship with my immediate family is extremely dysfunctional it works.
Based off what she read the likely hood is at the very least she has an inkling that I am on T. I ended the conversation by saying I wasn't ready to have this conversation right now and she wasn't meant to read that. I asked her to turn the notifications off :P (stupid, I just didn't know what to do or say).
I drafted the post and made a new website moving everything on to there. I decided I will no longer share that website with anyone. It's for my eyes only. Until I can be sure someone deserves to gain access to its contents.
Anyway, any advice on how I should handle this? Right now we are both leaving to go on separate vacations. So I will be taking my medicine with me and I won't have to worry about her possibly snooping through my things to find out if I am or not. I will likely need to hide my T when I come back. I don't think telling her now is a good idea. I have a therapy appointment next tuesday so I will also ask my therapist for advice. Support or encouragement is also welcome :)

🔗Killer Instinct Lumix Speedring Crossbow Scope: Improved Targeting for Hunting

https://preview.redd.it/h5bajq2cki1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=84abfbc6b1ce31df3b82ee257f840537498c2c48
Using the Killer Instinct MSCKI-1020 Lumix Speedring 1.5 to 5 x 32 IR-E Crossbow Scope has been quite an experience. The scope has made hunting much more enjoyable for me, thanks to its amazing abilities to lock onto and track moving targets from vast distances.
One of the features that really stood out is the durability of the metal case. This thing has a real tank-like feel to it, resisting impacts and harsh weather as if it was made for it. The spring-loaded covers on the lenses also proved to be quite reliable, keeping the lenses safe and scratchless until I was ready to hunt.
The built-in Speed Ring is another aspect of the scope that has impressed me. Making adjustments for my crossbow's speed has been a breeze, and the illuminated reticle is a big help when it comes to sighting in low-light conditions. I particularly appreciate the contrast the red/blue illumination provides.
However, there was one downside that I found a little disturbing. The scope came in a condition that made it apparent that someone had used it before. I was not happy with this fact, especially considering I had paid for a brand new product.
Overall, the MSCKI-1020 Lumix Speedring 1.5 to 5 x 32 IR-E Crossbow Scope is a product that I would recommend, even with its minor fault. It certainly helped me become a better hunter, and it would do the same for anyone looking to enhance their hunting experience.

🔗Killer Instinct Lumix 4x32 Black Ir-E Crossbow Scope with LED Illumination

https://preview.redd.it/lnbgjpgcki1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18565c92db7821448f52d9020ce5cbcb40445293
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Killer Instinct Lumix 4x32 Ir-E Crossbow Scope. This black 1021 model was a great addition to my hunting gear, providing exceptional clarity thanks to its multicoated optics and 1-inch mono tube construction. The fast focus eyepiece is a game-changer, allowing me to quickly adjust my sight even when on the move.
One feature that stood out was the illuminated cross-hair reticle, which came in both blue and red. It was perfect for low-light situations, making it easier for me to spot my target. I appreciated the adjustment click value of 0.5 inches at 100 yards, as it gave me accurate and consistent shot adjustments.
However, there were a few downsides to this otherwise great scope. The exit pupil was smaller than I would have liked, making it a bit more challenging to see the cross-hair reticle at times. Additionally, the scope's weight was lighter than expected, which might not have been ideal for everyone.
Overall, I'm happy with my experience using the Killer Instinct Lumix 4x32 Ir-E Crossbow Scope. It's a quality product with some small drawbacks, but its pros certainly outweigh the cons. If you're in the market for a reliable crossbow scope, this one is definitely worth considering.

🔗Compact Variable Multi-Reticle Crossbow Scope for 300-410 fps Shooting

https://preview.redd.it/df8zvaucki1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f7233e5370b0262af888d76641291526e147c000
As a reviewer who's been using the Dead-Zone Scope from Excalibur, I can confidently say it's a game-changer for crossbow enthusiasts. This 32mm, 1" tube scope offers unparalleled light transmission and clarity that makes it an ideal choice for those who prefer the thrill of hunting. Its variable multi-reticle design suits crossbows shooting in the 300-410 fps range, providing a perfect fit even for experienced hunters.
One of my favorite features is the bold crosshairs, which make it easy to sight in, even for us who don't have the sharpest eyesight. The scope provides a crystal-clear view, which has been essential in my hunting endeavors, hitting the bullseye consistently at 60 yards. Installation was a breeze, and the ease of adjusting the focus makes it a standout product.
However, one thing that could be improved is the set screw. After a little mishap with the speed ring, it's proven to be a bit tricky to tighten back up. Apart from that, I wholeheartedly recommend this Dead-Zone Scope to anyone looking for an accurate and reliable companion on their hunting adventures.

🔗Powerful Dual-Speed Digiscoping Scope with Extra Low Dispersion Lens

https://preview.redd.it/ao6gub7dki1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=06bc82eb96070c825ec1109ae09626d9312299ba
Recently, I had the chance to get my hands on the Knight PT 72mm f/6.0 Ed-Apo Photography Scope from Snypex. This digiscoping scope was a game changer for my photography, allowing me to capture stunning images with my DSLR camera.
One of the standout features of this scope was the dual speed focuser. It made it incredibly easy to achieve precise focus, even in low-light conditions. The scope's focal length of 432mm and f-stop of f6.0 provided a beautiful and sharp image, which was especially noticeable when using the optional eyepiece.
Moreover, the scope was built to last, with a durable white paint coating on its aluminum housing. The 1/4"-20 tripod mounts at both ends of the shoe made it easy to balance the weight, and the integrated dovetail plate was a handy addition for quick-release heads.
However, I did encounter a minor issue when trying to attain focus on stars. Despite the scope's apochromatic doublet lens, I found that achieving proper focus was a bit challenging. Additionally, while the price was reasonable at $160, I noticed that it was listed for a much higher price on the product website.
Overall, the Knight PT 72mm f/6.0 Ed-Apo Photography Scope from Snypex is a powerful and versatile tool for photography enthusiasts. With a few minor adjustments, it could become an exceptional choice for both digiscoping and spotting scopes.

Bresser See-It Scope HD: A Handy Tool for Exploring the Hidden
Recently, I found myself in a situation where I needed to take a closer look at something in a hard-to-reach place. I grabbed my Bresser See-It Scope HD, set up the flexible coil and bright LED light, and got to work.
One of the most impressive things about this scope is its versatility in navigating tight spaces. The coil is flexible and easy to maneuver, allowing me to explore various angles of the subject. Plus, the bright LED light was a game-changer when it came to illuminating dark areas.
The 2.31-inch LCD screen is large enough to gather a group of friends or coworkers around to view the action together. I appreciate how the digital camera mounted on the coil makes it easy to record video and take photos without having to switch to a different device.
That being said, there were a few downsides to using the Bresser See-It Scope HD. For one, the scope's 1 times magnification might not be enough for those looking for a more detailed view. Additionally, I noticed that the device's image quality wasn't on par with higher-end digital camera options.
Overall, the Bresser See-It Scope HD is a handy tool for those seeking accessibility and illumination in hard-to-reach areas. While its digital camera feature leaves room for improvement, the flexibility and bright LED light make it a worthwhile addition to any toolbox.

Recently, I found myself using the Barska Blackhawk 20-60x60 Spotting Scope, and I must say it exceeded my expectations. As someone who enjoys outdoor activities, this scope proved to be an essential companion.
One of the remarkable features of this scope is its wide variety of models with variable zoom magnifications. It allows me to see objects in greater detail no matter the situation. The multi-coated optics maximize light transmission, resulting in superior brightness and clarity, even during darker hours. In addition, the massive objective lens delivers brighter images in low-light conditions.
The rubber armor offers protection and shock absorption, while its ergonomic design enhances overall handling. Its convenient and good portability is a game-changer for someone like me who loves to explore the outdoors. The spotting scope is perfect for all-weather conditions, and the built-in Porro prism system offers greater depth perception and a wider field of view.
However, one downside I encountered was difficulty achieving clear focus at the highest zoom level. Fortunately, a slight adjustment in focus corrected the issue, and I was able to enjoy the scope's remarkable performance once again.
In conclusion, the Barska Blackhawk 20-60x60 Spotting Scope is a reliable and versatile tool for anyone who appreciates the beauty and detail of the outdoors. Its impressive features, coupled with its budget-friendly price, make it a worthy investment for anyone seeking to enhance their outdoor experiences.

🔗Compact Spotting Scope with 15-45x Magnification

https://preview.redd.it/51gkkofeki1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3cb7cf19e9e8774dcb13b529611454dd2c7b924
I recently went on a nature trip and decided to bring along the Bresser Spektar 15-45x60 Zoom Spotting Scope. It was quite compact with dimensions of 365 x 80 x 165 mm and only weighed 3.74 lbs, making it easy to pack into my backpack. When I arrived at my destination, I eagerly unpacked this handy spotting scope and eagerly started looking through it.
The first thing that caught my attention about the spotting scope was its versatile magnification range of 15-45x. I didn't have to worry about setting up a tripod as it was conveniently portable. However, it was just as easy to support it by resting it on a parapet, making it even more user-friendly in a variety of settings.
As I started using the spotting scope, I couldn't help but notice the outstanding optics of the Bresser Spektar series. The image clarity was top-notch, and the focus knob was surprisingly precise despite being so compact. Despite some minor flaws, like a slightly darker optics in some instances, the overall value of this spotting scope was highly impressive.
After trying it out at a range of distances and in different light conditions, I was quite impressed and ended up highly recommending this spotting scope, especially for outdoor enthusiasts on a budget, who are still looking for an outstanding, affordable tool for their hobby. Its ability to deliver a crisp visual experience even at high magnifications set it apart from the competitors in the same price range. The spotting scope came with a ready-to-use bag, a user manual, and was available for a store pickup at Walmart, which further added to the convenience of the purchase.
Overall, I found the Bresser Spektar 15-45x60 Zoom Spotting Scope to be a great companion during my exploration of nature's beauty, and I would highly recommend it for those seeking impressive optics without breaking the bank.

Plus, the rheostat cover allows for control of brightness across various lighting scenarios.

The various powers of the lens make it suitable for multiple hunting situations. Overall, the Axcel AVX-41 Scope Lens Combo 8x exceeded my expectations and has become my go-to scope while trekking through the wilderness. Highly recommended!

I recently went on a hike in the mountains and saw a beautiful raptor perched high above on a rocky cliff. With the Popular Science PS LandScout spotting scope, I was able to get a closer look. The image was crystal clear, and it felt like I could almost touch the raptor.
The scope's adjustable magnification from 20x to 60x made it easy to spot even the smallest of details, which was amazing when observing the stars at night. It also came with a smartphone adapter and a Bluetooth remote, allowing me to capture stunning photos and videos of my adventures. The only downside was, it was a bit heavy, but it was worth it for the incredible views.

It made a significant difference in my accuracy, and I could easily see the target even at longer distances. Additionally, the #10-32 stainless steel rod and T Connector were a great addition, providing extra durability and stability to my setup.
Although the combo offers a wide array of components for customization, I did find that it might be a bit overwhelming for archers new to scope adjustments. However, with a little bit of guidance, it's definitely a versatile and reliable choice for experienced archers looking to up their game.

Whether you're observing the wonders of our solar system or peering into the depths of the cosmos, this telescope delivers with ease. Its slim, sleek design is perfect for those who value portability and convenience, making it a popular choice for amateur astronomers and stargazing enthusiasts alike.
However, like any product, the ProED 80mm Doublet APO Refractor Telescope is not without its drawbacks. While its optical performance is top-tier, the focuser can be somewhat finicky, requiring a bit of extra effort to dial in a precise focus. And while the telescope comes with a good quality carrying case, it's worth mentioning that it can be a bit snug, making it a bit of a challenge to fit the scope inside.
Despite these minor flaws, the ProED 80mm Doublet APO Refractor Telescope offers a truly unforgettable experience. Its high-quality optics, versatility, and stunning performance make it a top choice for anyone looking to explore the depths of the universe from the comfort of their own backyard.

The optical tube assembly is made of high-quality materials, and the images it produces are crisp and vibrant. One of the standout features of this telescope is its portability. Weighing only about 8.6 lb, it can be carried and easily transported in its compressed 25-inch length. The quick setup process is a breeze, making it perfect for both beginners and more advanced astronomers.
However, one downside I noticed is the alt-azimuth mount, which feels a bit lightweight. It also requires a solid equatorial mount and guiding method for longer exposure astrophotography. Despite these minor issues, I believe the StarTravel 120mm is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a beginner's telescope, or someone who wants a reliable and portable option for observing the night sky.

In conclusion, the Sky Watcher 150mm Maksutov Cassegrain Telescope is a fantastic choice for anyone who wants a high-quality telescope that's also portable and easy to use. Buyer's Guide

Centerpoint Scopes are an excellent option for hunters, shooters, and outdoor enthusiasts who are looking for high-quality, reliable, and accurate scopes. These scopes come with various features that cater to different preferences and needs. This guide will help you understand the essential features, considerations, and advice when choosing a Centerpoint Scope.

Features to Consider

https://preview.redd.it/95574cfkki1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e973991abd9e3b7740ea7f0f9a37e0d806db4bb4

Magnification

Magnification is a crucial factor when choosing a Centerpoint Scope. The magnification determines how much the object appears to be enlarged through the scope. Higher magnification offers better precision, but it may also lead to more image distortion. Consider the magnification range that suits your needs and shooting distance.

Objective Lens Diameter

The objective lens diameter determines the amount of light that enters the scope, affecting brightness and clarity. A larger objective lens diameter allows more light to enter, but it may also increase the scope's weight and size. Choose an objective lens diameter that balances light gathering capability and portability.

Field of View

The field of view (FOV) is the area observable through the scope. A wider FOV is beneficial for tracking and locating fast-moving targets, but it may compromise precision. Choose a Centerpoint Scope with an FOV that suits your shooting style and target type.

https://preview.redd.it/47y79oukki1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8848f6bacc75bfbb0070f51c8ea54ce6b431c1a5

Eye Relief

Eye relief is the distance between your eye and the scope's eyepiece for comfortable viewing. Insufficient eye relief may cause eye strain or injury. Opt for a Centerpoint Scope with a generous eye relief distance that accommodates the use of shooting glasses.

Reticle

The reticle is a crosshair that helps you aim and estimate distance. Different reticles provide various advantages, such as improved target acquisition, holdover, or range estimation. Choose a Centerpoint Scope with a reticle that suits your shooting style and target type.

Construction and Durability

A well-built Centerpoint Scope can withstand rough handling and harsh weather conditions. Look for features such as waterproofing, fog-proofing, and shock-resistance to ensure the scope maintains accuracy and reliability.

https://preview.redd.it/rx63teflki1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d8905bf5e7e3ea8d89f5319eee1e54ce3cf1cb6

Choosing the Right Centerpoint Scope

When selecting the best Centerpoint Scope for your needs, consider your shooting style, target type, and environmental conditions. Take into account your budget, as well, since different models may offer varying levels of performance and features.

Proper Care and Maintenance

To ensure longevity and accuracy, always clean and store your Centerpoint Scope properly. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for maintenance, avoid subjecting it to extreme temperature changes, and protect it from sudden impacts and vibrations.
Centerpoint Scopes offer a variety of features and benefits for shooters and hunters. By understanding the essential features and considerations, you can make an informed decision when selecting the right Centerpoint Scope for your needs. Remember to always consider proper care and maintenance to ensure its performance and durability.

2024.05.20 07:03 AwesomeGlitch123 Me being a lying, failing student has ruined me

Around early 2022, just after i finished my 9th year during the pandemic, me and my mom were going to move in a few months and enrolling just to leave mid-school year didn't sound like the best plan so mom thought it would be best to enroll me in a fully-online curriculum for the meantime so im still getting educated.
First 2 months were going great, I was doing my studies and helping pack our things, then suddenly i felt like i couldnt do school anymore (think its called burnout). I was always a top student and me randomly losing interest in studying broke me.
Everytime i tried to open the website, I felt a sense of shame and disappointment, so I just closed the page and went on with my day, but this also made me feel like total shit. I was in this feedback loop where if i wasnt finishing my studies i felt like shit, but when im about to start i feel like shit. There were multiple days where I felt just ending it, but I kept telling myself that it'll fix itself out.
Fast forward to when the website locks me out since the time window for completing it has passed, and my mom asks me if i did finish everything, I lied and told her everything was fine. She puts a lot of trust in me and doesn't check up if I was doing my work.
She then asks if I wanted to continue since it would be too late to enroll close to the end of the school year. I agreed, so I spent another few months lying through my teeth to her about my education. I cant seem to tell her as I dont want to break my mom's heart but at the same time I cant keep this lie up.
Now in the present I'm about 1.5months from enrolling in a physical school and she's been asking me for my non-existent report cards. A lie ive built up for 2 years is soon about to crumble and every other day I feel like it would be better to bring this guilt to my grave.
Im sorry about the long post, I wouldve told this to a therapist but i dont have the money for one.

I recently got my hands on this stylish Celine hat, and I must say, it's been quite a game-changer in my wardrobe. The first time I wore it, I received so many compliments from friends and strangers alike. The hexagonal design and adjustable feature make it super comfortable to wear, while the vibrant brown color adds a perfect touch of sophistication.
Its French origin is evident not just in the superior quality of the material but also in the intricate detailing and innovative design. However, one drawback I've noticed is how sometimes the adjustable strap tends to loosen up after prolonged use, but it's a minor inconvenience that doesn't take away from the hat's overall charm. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this Celine hat for anyone looking to add a touch of class and elegance to their outfit.

I recently got my hands on the Celine Baseball Cap in Cotton in Beige, and I must say, it's an absolute game-changer! . The stunning embroidery and hexagonal design are the first things you'll notice – they give the cap that 'wow' factor. What I really appreciated was the adjustable tab, which ensures a perfect fit no matter your head size.
However, be aware that because it's made in France, it may have a slightly heftier price tag than you're used to. All in all, this hat has been a stylish and comfortable addition to my wardrobe, and I can't wait to see how many more compliments I receive wearing it! .

🔗Céline Men's Embroidered Visor Cap - Black

https://preview.redd.it/hc0chos1gi1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ae5ad50d30e1b7c231fd192404afbe3d05f03f38
I recently got my hands on the Celine Baseball Cap in Cotton - Black, and boy, it has been a game-changer for me! This stylish yet simple cap provides the perfect touch of effortless cool to any outfit. The hexagonal design on the visor adds just the right amount of detail, making it stand out without being too flashy. The adjustable tab ensures a comfortable fit, and I love that it's made in France - it has that extra touch of quality that I look for in fashion items.
However, I must admit that the cap isn't perfect. The sizing can be a bit tricky, so I'd advise trying it on before purchasing, or checking the size chart carefully. Additionally, the price point is a bit steep for a baseball cap, but the overall design and quality make it worth the investment if you're a Céline fan.
In summary, the Celine Baseball Cap in Cotton - Black is a stylish and well-made addition to any wardrobe. Its unique design and adjustable fit make it a versatile and comfortable choice for both casual and dressier occasions. Just be sure to pay close attention to sizing, and be prepared to spend a little extra for this luxurious accessory.

I recently got my hands on this elegant baseball cap from Celine, and it's been my go-to accessory ever since. The initial patch adds a unique touch to this timeless design, making it stand out from other caps I've seen. The adjustable strap ensures a perfect fit, no matter how my hair feels on any given day.
However, the black color does tend to fade slightly after some time in the sun. Overall, this sleek and stylish cap is a must-have for anyone who appreciates high-quality accessories.

When I first discovered this stylish Celine baseball cap, I knew I had to add it to my collection. The combination of beige and brown creates a timeless color palette that complements almost any outfit. As a fan of Celine's clean and minimalistic designs, I was thrilled by the hexagonal pattern and the subtle, yet bold embroidery.
Made in France, it's clear that this cap boasts unmatched quality. The adjustable tab ensures the perfect fit every time while maintaining the cap's polished appearance.
The one caveat is the price - it's quite expensive for a headgear. However, the limited edition nature, combined with the impeccable craftsmanship, makes it worth considering for those seeking a unique and enduring accessory.

🔗Céline Triomphe Cotton Baseball Cap - Women's M

As a stylish woman who loves to rock hats in my everyday outfits, I recently had the opportunity to try on the Celine Triomphe Baseball Cap in White. This cap instantly added a chic and sporty flair to my look, making it the perfect choice for casual outings or laid-back weekends. Crafted from high-quality cotton, this hat was not only comfortable to wear but also maintained its shape even after multiple wears.
The highlight of this cap has to be the intricate Triomphe pattern embroidered along the visor, giving it a classic and timeless appeal. However, I did find the sizing to be a bit of a con, as the Medium size I chose felt slightly tight. Overall, the Celine Triomphe Baseball Cap in White is an elegant and versatile addition to my hat collection, offering stylish protection from the sun while making me look effortlessly chic.

🔗Céline Wool Ribbed Beanie - Black

https://preview.redd.it/3g0tsha3gi1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1157b0bcb76650ed560fe781b907db200037ad2
I recently got my hands on the Celine Beanie in Ribbed Wool - Black for Men, and I have to say, it's a game-changer in my Winter wear. The subtle ribbing not only adds texture but also provides an extra layer of insulation against the chill. Unlike many other beanies, this one doesn't suffocate my head or make me sweat; it's light and breathable, yet surprisingly warm.
One feature that stands out is its versatility. Whether I'm out running errands or going for a casual stroll, it pairs perfectly with both casual and semi-formal outfits. The black color is neutral enough to match almost anything, and the ribbed design gives it a unique touch that sets it apart from other beanies.
However, one minor drawback is that it doesn't offer much protection against the wind. On really blustery days, I find myself needing to combine it with a hood or a scarf for added protection. But overall, the Celine Beanie has been my go-to choice for staying stylish and warm in these colder months.

🔗Céline Classic Wool/Cashmere Hat - Beige

https://preview.redd.it/s7jsp8o3gi1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=db243fb99f585e7952c904f58a66699cc892d550
My winter mornings have become so much easier since I got my hands on this luxurious Triomphe Cap by Celine. The blend of wool and cashmere provides a perfect balance of warmth and comfort. This cap has quickly become my go-to accessory on those chilly days.
The beige color is versatile and matches almost all my outfits. A minor drawback, though, is that it sheds a bit, but the softness and coziness make up for it. Overall, I'm absolutely loving this Celine hat! .

🔗Celine Initial Blue Hat

https://preview.redd.it/dhv36044gi1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=398d943db3de78e87378b50d6cb1089fd5b705bc
As a reviewer who's been sporting the Céline Initial Baseball Cap in Blue (Size M) for men, I can't emphasize enough how this hat has made a statement in my daily attire. The intricate hexagonal design stands out - a nod to the brand's classic style. The adjustable strap ensures a comfortable fit while maintaining its effortless and cool look.
However, as a con, it may not be that suitable for a very hot day, as cotton can feel a bit warm. But don't worry, it's the perfect companion for a stroll around town or a casual outing with friends. Overall, the Céline Initial Baseball Cap is a stylish addition to your accessories that adds charisma to every outfit.

🔗Céline Triomphe Beige Baseball Cap - Women's Size M

As a fashion enthusiast, I have recently added the Celine Triomphe Baseball Cap to my wardrobe collection. The beige and brown color combination is perfect for elevating any outfit, while the adjustable tab ensures a comfortable fit that suits various head sizes.
The highlight of this hat is undoubtedly its stunning Triomphe patch, which adds a touch of elegance and exclusivity to the overall design. Moreover, the hexagonal pattern on the cap adds a unique flair that sets it apart from other traditional baseball caps. However, one downside is that the fabric might feel slightly stiff at first, but it does soften up with time.
Made in France, this cap exudes quality and craftsmanship that is hard to come by nowadays. Despite not having any other reviews available for this product, I am confident that it will be a favorite in my collection due to its classic appeal and versatile nature.
For those who desire a blend of chic style and sporty functionality, the Celine Triomphe Baseball Cap is definitely worth considering. Its combination of timeless elegance and modern design makes it a perfect accessory for any wardrobe.

🔗Celine Striped Flannel Baseball Cap - M

https://preview.redd.it/hyfe43w4gi1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d700243d5881d8eb9bfe424d4763eac54995a96
As a fashion enthusiast, I recently got my hands on this Céline Baseball Cap, and I must say, it's been an absolute game-changer. The grey and black striped flannel fabric provides a subtle hint of casual chic, making it perfect for both casual outings and smart-casual events.
The 7cm visor helps keep the sun out of my eyes, while the adjustable tab ensures a perfect fit every time. The hexagonal pattern and the Céline embroidery are a great nod to the brand's heritage without going overboard on the logo-driven trend. The only downside is that it's made in France, which may be a tad expensive for some.
Overall, I can't recommend this stylish cap enough! .

🔗Céline Aran Mohair Wool Beret in White for Women

https://preview.redd.it/70jbfia5gi1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=77190cdc2b24802ae2ece27b1ff59b894860c85a
In the heart of winter, there's something undeniably charming about pulling on a soft, warm beret. I recently got my hands on the Celine's Beret in Aran Mohair Wool. It's a stylish yet practical piece, offering both fashion and function. The off-white color adds a classic touch, perfect for pairing with any outfit.
One of the standout features of this piece is the Aran Mohair Wool it's made from. It's incredibly soft, providing excellent insulation against the cold. I was pleasantly surprised by how warm it kept my ears. However, one downside to this quality is that the wool might be too warm for milder temperatures.
The design is simple yet elegant, with a slightly oversized fit that gives it a modern twist. But, this might be a little too slouchy for some heads. Despite that, I find the loose fit charming and stylish.
Overall, the Celine's Beret in Aran Mohair Wool is a versatile piece that provides both style and comfort. It's perfect for keeping your ears warm during those frosty winter days.

🔗Celine Women's Vanille/Gris/Taupe Triomphe Bucket Hat in Checked Wool

https://preview.redd.it/z2ekvvt5gi1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a678d99c209ff314c4cd99373ced97bddb2f14da
I recently added the Celine Triomphe Bucket Hat in Checked Wool to my wardrobe, and it's become one of my favorite go-to accessories for stylish protection from the sun. The grey, brown, and beige check pattern adds a playful twist to the classic bucket hat design, while its medium size ensures a comfortable fit that won't swallow my face.
One aspect that blew me away was the hat's material. The checked wool feels incredibly soft against my skin, while its breathability keeps me from overheating. Even on days where I've been caught in the rain, this hat has held up impressively well due to its top-notch construction.
However, there's one drawback I've noticed with this hat. Its larger size means it doesn't fold as compactly as my other hats do. But honestly, who folds their Celine hat, right? Overall, it's a stylish and comfortable addition to my collection that I can't see myself parting with anytime soon.

🔗Céline Earflap Chapka in Brown Monogram

https://preview.redd.it/nhlzi026gi1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7f07e7584580919699605ad6add3f224ee31f096
I've been using this stylish and elegant Céline Brown Monogrammed Chapka during my daily strolls and it's been a game-changer. The plush and warm lambskin shearling ear flaps provide a perfect protection against the harsh winter winds, while the high-quality leather material makes it durable and chic.
The adjustable tabs with distinctive D-ring hardware make it effortless to find the right fit, and the hexagonal visor design offers a unique touch. Made in France, this 100% cotton, 50% cotton, 50% polyamide lined chapka not only keeps me cozy but also adds a sophisticated air to my winter wardrobe. The only downside is that it's a limited edition, so getting your hands on one might be a bit challenging! .

2024.05.20 06:33 Lazy_Monitor9812 how do you know if you’re depressed?

I’ve been thinking about my feelings lately, for years i’ve been a little numb, can’t get close to my family, losing interest in things i usually enjoy like video games, always feel tired, want to feel motivated but can’t, low self esteem, anxiety, can’t set time to study, try for 30 minutes and then go lay in bed or end up watching youtube, and there’s days that i neglect my hygiene
i typed symptoms of depression on google and came across a website called Nurx and took a small quiz, paid a fee and now its under review for a prescription.
i always thought i was “normal” and felt like everyone feels like this, i mean no one can be happy 27/4 right? i don’t know if im depressed and don’t want to say that i am because there’s probably people here who really feel it and it sucks.
I try to dismiss my symptoms by:
feeling numb: i’m just bored, when i’m out with friends drinking i don’t feel like this
can’t get close to my family: i never really learned how to talk to them growing up so now that im an adult it’s hard to make that connection
losing interested in things i usually enjoy: maybe im just getting over video games, i’ve played them all my life already
always feel tired: well i do go to sleep late and wake up early for work, although even when i do get 8+ hours i feel tired and always use my 1 hour lunch break to take a nap and another one after work then have trouble sleeping when i should, i just need to fix my sleep schedule
want to feel motivated but can’t: i tell myself im just lazy and need to do what i need to achieve my goals, even if i don’t want to and then i’ll start building better habits. i know i should but never do anything
low self esteem: i tell myself just need to lose a few pounds, take care of myself first and it’ll be fixed, but again i don’t feel motivated to do what i need to do
anxiety: i tell myself everyone gets nervous when walking in a grocery store or gas station, i just need to keep doing it and i’ll get better at it, and no one is looking at me it’s all in my head. when im not around people i know i feel very anxious and nervous but i can have a normal conversation although deep down it feels like im faking it, not sure how to explain it. my family gets mad because im 1 outgoing happy person with my friends and can’t have 1 conversation with them. when im home im just in my room, in bed
can’t set time to study: again im just lazy stop getting distracted and procrastinating, i have to reread the same page 5 times because my mind start wandering but its because i have been out of school for years, i need to relearn how to learn
neglecting my hygiene: im just lazy just go take a shower.
but i don’t feel sad often either, i don’t sit in bed and cry, i don’t have panic attacks, and i don’t want to die or hurt myself. i just feel numbish. i decided to apply and pay for the online prescription because i just want to know if there’s more to this

2024.05.20 06:28 Electrical-Move-2145 I'm looking for a long distance relationship coach Can someone help?

I think I need to work on myself a bit and that’s why I need someone’s advice, particularly on navigating a long-distance relationship.
I’ve realized that I regularly have questions and concerns regarding my long-distance relationship, and as an overthinker, I’m constantly dwelling on various issues. For instance, I often find myself wondering why my partner comes online but doesn’t reply to my messages right away. Additionally, I struggle with feeling like I’m the only one initiating conversations about our relationship problems. This makes me anxious and unsure about how to proceed.
If anyone in a long-distance relationship is reading this, does this sound relatable to you? What strategies or approaches have helped you manage similar challenges?
I’m also looking for professional guidance. If there’s anyone here who is a coach or can recommend a good relationship coach or therapist, I would greatly appreciate it.
I’ve checked a few websites, but I haven’t found any that seem suitable. Any advice or referrals would be immensely helpful.
Thank you in advance for your support and insights!

2024.05.20 06:06 No-Pudding7670 Passed the SIE yesterday first attempt, only 1 week of study (do not recommend)

Wanted to share my experience doing crash course studying for 7 days and passing the SIE first attempt! I never post anything on here, but others posts made a big difference for me, so here goes!
TL;DR:
I passed my SIE yesterday after only 7 days of study. Intense! I used Pass Perfect, spent 50 hours studying total. If you only have a week or two before your test, DO NOT take a bunch of notes on everything! Read the content, take the quizzes and test, take notes on those answers and explanations!
VERY IMPORTANT: Use the two free Achievable SIE dump Sheets and watch both the S7 Guru and S7 Whisperer 60 min crash course SIE YouTube videos the day before or day of test! I’ve included links at the bottom of this post. Be sure to memorize the dump sheet tricks and formulas, and decide what’s most important to reference. The test center gives you two laminated sheets and dry erase markers you can use as soon as the test timer starts. Be ready to write down key formulas, acronyms, timeframes, etc. Mine were the Options Matrix, SLoBS & BLiSS, yield teeter totter, Settlement times (T+1 or T+2) and notes on Open vs Closed end market. (All on the achievable formula dump sheets except specific Open/Closed Markets notes I took).
My Story:
In late April I was hired by Vanguard for a position starting May 28. I’d been a contractor doing customer service in an unlicensed VG position for about 10 months (no finance background before that); with the goal of getting hired in a licensed, permanent role within a year. I worked hard and got hired! The position requires SIE, S7 and S63. After my start date they pay me to do nothing but study and take exams for 9 or 13 weeks (depending on whether I’d passed the SIE prior to start date), which is awesome, but there’s a $5000 bonus if the SIE is passed at least a week before start date.
Note: I did have a little familiarity with basic terms and what’s required for account opening, due to my contractor position).
I originally scheduled my exam for May 13. I had about a month from hire date to May 13, and VG paid for the Pass Perfect course. I started some light studying the first week, thinking I had 3 more weeks and was on track. Then I got really sick for 2 weeks! I’m talking bed ridden, definitely no studying. So May 10 I rescheduled my exam to May 18! I had to pay $40 but figured it was well worth it not to fail, lol.
I was finally well enough to start studying on May 11, giving me 7 days. 😅 I had retained very little from my initial studying so I started over. I thought “I can do this!” I figured I’d had to do similar in college while working full time. Boy it was rough!
7 Days to PASS the SIE:
The first 3 days I had all day to study: Sat, Sun and Mon (had the day off for my original test date).
THE PLAN 41+ hours 5 practice tests, scoring at least 75%
Days 1-3 (full days) - 8+ hrs per day - Complete Pass Perfect Course (16 chapters) start to finish (reading and all quizzes, chapter tests)
Days 4-5 (Tues, Wed) - 5 hrs each day (2 before work and 3 after) - Take 1-2 Pass Perfect Final exams (1 hr 45 min each) each day, taking time to focus/take notes on anything I missed - Goal of 4 total tests, with 75% or higher on 3
Day 6 (Friday, day before the test) - 5 hours (2 hrs before work, 3 hours after) - Take 1 FINRA practice SIE exam before work (free on FINRA website) - after work, Review all Difficult Topics - Listen to S7 Guru & S7 whisperer on YouTube. (They each have a 60 minute crash course review, recommended for day before or day of test). - Print out Achievable Dump Sheets - add my own notes to dump sheets
Day 7 (Day of Test) Test scheduled for 2pm (1:30 registration) - 2 hours Notes and Dump Sheets Review in morning - Leave for Test at 11:30, arrive 12:30 (45 min drive) - One last Review of Dump Sheets for 45 min, take a break before registration
Great Plan Right?! Wellll, I didn’t quite stick to it. 🤣
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED: 52 Hours Study - Not at the planned pace! 4 Practice Finals (71% average) A lot of tears, anxiety and stress!😫 A rollercoaster of Self-doubt and Self-Confidence
Day 1 (Sat): 7 hrs Completed first 3 chapters, taking tons of notes on a Google doc, color coded and highlighted. I’ll do more tomorrow I thought, my brain is fried
Day 2 (Sun): 10 hours Completed chapters 4 & 5 again taking tons (too many) notes, taking quizzes and Tests multiple times, worried I wasn’t getting the concepts and terms well enough. Didn’t want to move on until I had chapters 1-5 down pat. Getting really worried about my pace now, but “hey I have tomorrow. I’ll crush it and catch up”. Maybe I won’t get to tests until Thurs, but I’ll be okay..
Day 3 (Mon): 7 hrs (I was exhausted and burnt out, still not 100% from being sick) Chapter 6 OPTIONS… the death of me, soooo much to learn. Barely got through chapter 6. Full panic has now set in! I have to work full time the next 4 days! If the rest of the course is this hard, I’m screwed. There goes my bonus, how will I tell my husband? (He would not have been mad but I would feel terrible). “Children and husband, do not bother me! I need to focus!” 😅
Day 4 (Tues): 6 hrs ( 6pm-12am) Intense panic and anxiety, how the hell am I going to finish?! Screw notes, get through the chapters! Completed chapters 7-10. Whew, these chapters weren’t as bad, maybe it’s getting easier. I think I remember a good amount. Better wrap this up tomorrow!
Day 5 (Wed): 5 hrs Very worried, but I’ll finish today and take lots of tests the next 2 days! Completed chapters 11-13 😫 OMG I’m still not done with the course and I have 2 days left! I must sleep.
Day 6 (Thurs): 6 hrs in the evening - Completed remaining chapters 14-16, course done 8pm. Whew, content done. Worried about not taking any tests yet, but at least I feel like I know the content decently! Took my first Pass Perfect Test, score 71% not as bad as I thought but that’s not a lot of margin for error! (Need 70% to Pass actual SIE test). At that point I’m calculating how much each point is worth, looking up suggestions online and praying, lol 🙏
Day 7 (Fri): 7 hrs Took 2 Pass Perfect tests, reviewed missed answers carefully and took notes. Scores: 71% and 73%. Took FINRA SIE test (on their website), 69%. Omg I’m gonna fail tomorrow. 🥺
Friday night I thought “Hmm Maybe I can reschedule for Monday (the deadline to pass for bonus). Two more days and I will be ready!” So I go to the Prometrics website and try to reschedule, seeing one slot for Monday at a site 2 hrs away… awesome.. NOPE, NOT ALLOWED less than 3 days before scheduled exam! (Why did I not think of this Tuesday?) 🙄 So I called customer service, begged and told them I had been sick.. Since they said I could not reschedule the day before the test, I asked if they could cancel it and schedule a new appt for Monday? DENIED. So I took a deep breath, cried a little and came to terms with it. This test is happening, tomorrow. 😫 🤬
Friday night 9pm: As recommended by colleagues and online forums, I listen to S7 whisperer 60 min crash course on YouTube; no notes, listening in bed). Ok, learned some things, great overview/review. Maybe I can pull this off afterall. 🤔 Things are looking up. 😊
Saturday, May 13… Day of Test (2-4pm)
7am woke up, ate a good breakfast, prepared everything I needed to take and do. Now what? Should I take another practice test? Review my notes? Listen to video? I decided no more tests, I’ll listen to the other crash course ( S7 Guru 60 min crash course on YouTube). 🤞
8am—11:30 Crunch time. Im determined to pass this exam!! Spent 3 hours listening to the 60 min S7 Guru video, pausing when needed, replaying as needed. Took 11 pages of color coded notes on the most important points and formulas I needed to remember, mainly on Regulations, Rules & laws (what market does it impact, what type of product, who, timeframes, holding time, etc). I knew this was going to be at least 15% of test (I was right) and these were the main questions I had missed on my Practice Finals.
11:30am Renewed Faith 🙌 DAMN I learned a LOT. I’m gonna pass this thing! I was already getting low 70s on Thursday practice tests and I KNOW I learned enough from the video to pass several more questions. S7 Guru literally saved me, pulling it all together in my mind! 🤯
12pm Went to UPS store, color printed the 2 Achievable dump sheets and my 11 pages of notes from the video! (I think the colors really help my mind retain the info). I scanned over them at every red light on the way. 😂
12:59 arrived at test center. Spent 20 minutes reviewing dump sheets and drilling in my mind what to put on the 2 pages they would give me for notes (see TL;DR for what I used on the test sheets, links to dump sheets at end)
1:20 walk in, first one there.. registration complete at 1:35. To my surprise, they seat me and I can start test immediately!
As soon as the timer started my hands were flying on the 2 laminated sheets they gave me. I spent the first 15 min vigorously writing out things I wanted to reference. 90 minutes left for 85 questions. Watched the timer closely to stay on pace. Used the notepad on the test platform for each question to write out calculations, or break down what each part of the question meant, used critical thinking for answer, marking questions for review when I was stuck between 2 answers. Most importantly, I followed my gut. I knew this stuff! Used calculator for EVERY calculation, even easy ones. Finished all questions with 5 minutes remaining. Reviewed marked questions but changed only 3, if I was SURE my original answer was wrong. Almost all advice I was given in the week before said DO NOT change your answers. Your gut is usually right, unless a later question clarifies something.
I hit submit and held my breath. 🫢 OMG, does that say PASS?!!! Yes, I actually Passed! 😳 I cried out of happiness and relief, was on cloud 9. Swore I would never cram like this again! S7 and S63 will be better, lol.
SO here’s how you can have a better experience than me if you’re a week or two away and wondering how you can possibly pull this off. YOU CAN DO IT! 💪
TIPS FOR CRASH SIE STUDYING (learn from my mistakes)
1 NOTE TAKING: I’ve always learned best by taking a ton of notes, color coded on a google doc. Taking notes reinforces it in my brain and helps me find ways to remember it for myself. However, if you are crash course Studying for the SIE, you do NOT have time to do this, lol. Honestly I barely looked at those notes in the end.
TIP: Read through the content quickly and only take notes when it tells you it’s likely a testable question! Take all quizzes and tests, REVIEW the quiz/test answers (in PP the answers also give you a brief explanation of the concept) and take light notes on that! Do NOT replace reading with the videos! The first 4 chapters I tried to save time doing this and wondered why I was failing the chapter tests. The reading content had way more info than the video! Don’t shoot yourself in the foot and spend even more time you don’t have!
2 DON’T SPEND TOO MUCH TIME on EARLY CONCEPTS! The earlier (and for the most part, less valuable - less test questions) content (at least in the Pass Perfect course) will be reinforced throughout the following chapters in the course. Many of the of the concepts in the first few chapters build over the course, so the basics are reinforced later anyway. I wasted several hours!
3 EXPECT 20-25 hours are needed to complete the course/learn the concepts! You need to understand them, not just memorize them. Give yourself a day on REGULATIONS and 5 hours on OPTIONS, a few hours on BOND YIELDS, these comprised a LOT of questions on the test, could make or break you!
4 TAKE at least 4 PRACTICE FINALS with a goal of 75%, but if you’re not improving, use the crash course Videos, learn the content. (Don’t use those crash course videos until you have completed the course/content for all material. It will be confusing otherwise and feel overwhelming). Don’t just keep taking more tests in lieu of learning!
5 SPEND A FEW HOURS on (free) ACHIEVABLE DUMP SHEETS along with S7 Guru & S7 Whisperer crash course review videos on YouTube! I doubt I would have passed without these! Reviewing them for 4 hours and using them for key points on my tests sheets saved my ass!
I’ve included links below for the FREE Achievable Dump Sheets and the 60 minute crash course videos. Feel free to message me for more help!
GOOD LUCK! It IS Possible to pass in a week! 🍀

2024.05.20 06:05 muetint Tired of being fetishized

I will preface this by saying that I technically consider myself non-binary but am a very femme presenting AMAB person, as such I often get viewed by others as a transwoman in the way they perceive me and interact with me, and I thought I would share these experiences here as I feel it's something that I've found my trans friends particularly relate to.
So, I've been really dealing with a lot of frustration lately when it comes to trying to date and found compatible partners. In the past when I identified as cis, I primarily had relationships and intimate experiences with women. As I've started to explore my sexuality and gender expression more, I've opened myself up more to the idea of being with men and masc-presenting people. I still don't have a lot of outward attractions to these types, honestly. So, I continue to tread lightly, but there are some aspects to masculine expression that I appreciate.
However, I've found interactions with men to be incredibly frustrating and disheartening. A large percentage of the men that reach out to me on online dating platforms very obviously only view me a sexual object. I don't even feel comfortable engaging sexually with a person of any gender until I know them and feel safe with them and yet men think it's ok to instantly proposition me sexually just based on how I look. Often times, these men are obviously doing it from a place of some secret sexual fantasy too as they will often not on dating websites not even have pictures of themselves or purposely hide their face. It doesn't make me feel all that great about myself to be viewed as someone's secret shame fuck.
Interactions in the real world can sometimes be slightly better, but also run the added risk of being inappropriately touched or just made to feel unsafe and uncomfortable in general. Also many of these men who do hit on me are often much older and/or generally gross and unattractive. I'm not going to say I'm the hottest person ever, but I think I have really good style and know how to make myself look good and get lots of compliments to reinforce this. So it especially makes me feel objectified when men like this hit on me, because it seems like they're viewing me as easy or more desperate because of my gender identity.
I realize this is something that cis women have to deal with all the time as well, but it feels particularly amplified being a femme presenting AMAB person. I don't deal with this so much with other femme and andro people, but I find it harder to attract these types with my presentation. I've even had other queer people assume I was exclusively into men simply because I present femme and men often seem to operate under the assumption that I present the way I do just to attract male attention, which is definitely not the case at all.
Anyway, just sharing in hopes others have had similar experiences or advice on how to navigate this. It's starting to become disheartening to try and date as my authentic self when it feels like others often don't treat me as a person but instead just an object for their desires.

🔗Professional Dryer Vent Cleaning Kit with Clockwise Rod Rotation

https://preview.redd.it/nzx2lzih8i1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b9e7ad85edd7186892eb1404cba4f1eabe7a3ac9
During my research for dryer vent cleaning options, the Holikme 30-Feet Dryer Vent Cleaner Kit stood out as a solid option. The kit comes with a high-quality synthetic brush head and durable rods that extend up to 6.1 meters, making it incredibly flexible and convenient for reaching those tricky spots.
One of the standout features of this product was its adaptability to be used with or without a power drill, giving users the option to choose their method based on personal preference or the scope of the cleaning task at hand. However, despite the convenience and range of this device, I did encounter a few issues during my testing.
Firstly, certain components of the kit seemed to be made of a cheaper quality material, leading to a concern over the durability of the product. One specific issue I faced was getting stuck in my dryer vent and needing professional help to remove it. This was both frustrating and costly, impacting my overall experience with the Holikme 30-Feet Dryer Vent Cleaner Kit.
On the flip side, when utilized with caution and the appropriate precautions, such as keeping the drill in forward direction, the kit managed to perform as advertised. I was impressed by how easy it was to clean the vents, removing the trapped lint and dust that had been accumulating. The convenience of the device and its effectiveness outweigh the minor drawbacks for me.
In conclusion, if used carefully, the Holikme 30-Feet Dryer Vent Cleaner Kit is an effective and flexible solution for cleaning various vents and ducts. However, potential users should be warned of the cheaper components that may negatively affect the longevity of the product and potential issues in certain contexts.

🔗TCP Global Professional Gun Cleaning Toolbox

https://preview.redd.it/ggbtvw1i8i1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0a363dc2860632c1cdafad7d29e6c2d2d2df571
Being a reviewer, I decided to give the TCP Global Professional 23 Piece Spray Gun Cleaning Kit a try. The kit arrived well-organized in a compact carrying case. The variety of brushes and cleaning tools made it easy to tackle every nook and cranny of my paint spray gun.
My favorite feature has to be the aluminum holder for the mini end brushes. It's perfect for keeping them neat and tidy during use. Another highlight was the range of sizes for the flexible tube cleaning brushes. They made it simple to clean both the fluid and air inlets, as well as the gun body.
One minor drawback was the lack of a pouch or something similar for storage. The compact case is great, but a separate pouch would have made transportation even easier. However, that doesn't take away from the overall quality and usefulness of this cleaning kit. I found myself reaching for it anytime I needed to clean my spray gun.
So, if you're looking for an affordable and efficient set of tools to keep your paint spray gun in top shape, this TCP Professional 23 Piece Spray Gun Cleaning Kit is definitely worth considering.

🔗Compact Tactical Cleaning Kit for AR-15 and AR-10 Rifles

https://preview.redd.it/793i58bi8i1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dcefa5964973447dc733865c0b56e3e5e8d61b4d
As someone who frequently uses their AR-15 and AR-10 rifles, I recently tried out the RangeMaxx Tactical Cleaning Kit. This compact kit is designed to simplify the cleaning process for modern sporting rifles, thanks to the special brushes and tools it provides.
The cleaning rod is ergonomic and easy to use, while the rugged molded case keeps everything secure. I appreciated the range of brushes, including the. 22 and. 308 bolt carrier brushes, as well as the versatile cleaning patches. However, I would have liked a more durable cleaning rod.
Overall, the RangeMaxx Tactical Cleaning Kit made my cleaning routine more efficient and convenient.

🔗Rotary 16597 Carburetor Jet Cleaning Tool Kit

https://preview.redd.it/nq74e0oi8i1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a61474691334bbbf4fada48c160bee95a91e7816

I recently tried the Rotary 16597 Carburetor Cleaning Tool as a solution for my clogged carburetor. After struggling with cleaning a stubborn carburetor, I was impressed by how easy this tool made the process. The Helix storage case held ten wire sizes, which were perfect for covering the most common jet sizes.
Cleaning the jets and passageways felt like a breeze with this powerful tool. However, I did experience a minor hiccup when the wire size I needed was accidentally damaged during usage.
Overall, the Rotary 16597 Carburetor Cleaning Tool is a handy tool to have in your mechanic's toolbox, but just be careful with the fragile wires.

🔗Springfield M14/M1A Chamber Cleaning Tool for .308 Rifles

https://preview.redd.it/m3p3eo4j8i1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ad18e26aa361e57b07b03172352e26330a2af56
I've been using this GG&G M14/M1A Chamber Cleaning Tool for quite a while now, and let me tell you, it's a game changer for anyone who needs a reliable and efficient chamber cleaning tool for their Springfield M14 or M1A rifle.
The rugged design of this tool is one of its standout features, with a jag that has a slotted tip perfect for accepting patches and a universal joint that allows you to achieve the optimal angle for thorough cleaning. Built with 6061 T6 aluminum, it's sturdy enough to handle any cleaning task without causing any damage to the rifle chamber.
But that's not all! The package also includes a 3" x 0.490" OD phosphor bronze chamber brush, which works like a charm in cleaning even the most stubborn carbon deposits. And don't forget about the rubber-coated, non-slip plastic handle that provides a tight grip for optimal application of cleaning torque.
Of course, with any product, there's always a tradeoff. But in my experience, the pros of this tool far outweigh the cons. The GG&G M14/M1A Chamber Cleaning Tool is a must-have for anyone who wants to keep their Springfield rifle in top shape.

🔗Bottom-Up Chimney Cleaning System with Reversible Spinning Whip

https://preview.redd.it/7o5mg3gj8i1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa8aa652007026811a3c2f08f59105ac47ee7b56
The Gardus SootEater Rotary Chimney Cleaning System is a handy tool for cleaning your wood stove and fireplace chimneys from the bottom up. It utilizes flexible rods with button connect fittings and a spinning chimney whip that can be trimmed to fit, making it more efficient in removing soot and creosote compared to a traditional brush. The device is easy to operate with a power drill, and it helps keep your family safe by reducing the risk of chimney fires.
One of the highlights of this cleaning system is its ability to clean from the bottom, which can be a challenge with other tools. It also fits through tight areas and can be set to spin forward and reverse, making it more versatile. However, one potential downside is that it can be quite a workout to use for long chimneys, as it might require you to take the chimney cleaning rods with you when traveling.
Overall, the Gardus SootEater Rotary Chimney Cleaning System is a great tool for those looking for a more efficient and safer way to clean their chimneys. Its flexibility and ease of use are big pros, but be prepared for some physical exertion when dealing with longer chimneys.

🔗Effortless Fabric Defuzzer: Customizable Pilling Remover

https://preview.redd.it/z4kh36rj8i1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9cee4403f7ed883921bea09e3a37db00c487e118
Recently, I discovered the Conair Fabric Defuzzer and decided to give it a try. After all, who wouldn't want a tool that promised to keep their clothes looking new and fresh?
The device's large shaving head quickly became one of my favorite highlights. It easily removed pills, threads, and fuzz from various fabrics without causing any damage. I found this feature particularly helpful when tackling pilling on my favorite sweaters and blouses.
Another impressive aspect of the Conair Fabric Defuzzer was its adjustable distance control. I could choose the right setting for each fabric, making it easier to remove those pesky pilling issues. Plus, the detachable collection compartment made it a breeze to empty without any mess.
However, I did notice a few drawbacks. Although the device took battery power, it wasn't the most energy-efficient one out there. The batteries seemed to drain quickly, so I often found myself making trips to the store to purchase new ones.
Additionally, I found that the lint catcher's design could be improved. Sometimes, the fuzz didn't come out easily, and I had to manually scoop it out or tap the container to empty it completely.
Despite these minor issues, the Conair Fabric Defuzzer proved to be a valuable addition to my wardrobe maintenance routine. It effectively removed pilling on clothes and left them feeling smooth and fresh.

🔗Compact Meeco Red Devil Chimney Brush (30808) for Efficient Cleaning

https://preview.redd.it/w7xdyt9k8i1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=54c1a7e7e7170c08057f1c7fb0a07154524bed87
I recently had the chance to try out Meeco's Red Devil wire chimney brush with model number 30808. As someone who values a thorough and hassle-free cleaning experience, I was excited to see how this product would perform.
The first thing I noticed about the Meeco Red Devil was its compact and low-profile design. This feature made navigating the brush through the chimney surprisingly easy, especially in tight angles and bends up to 90 degrees. I appreciated the convenience that this aspect offered, as it allowed me to reach areas I might have otherwise missed.
However, while the brush did a good job at cleaning the sides and corners of the chimney liner, I encountered a minor issue when trying to clean the lower sections. The fiberglass rod kit in this set started to flex as I moved deeper into the chimney, causing the brush to lose contact with the walls. This made the cleaning process a bit more challenging, and I couldn't help but feel that the brush could have been designed to expand to the size of the chimney for a more consistent and effective clean.
Overall, the Meeco Red Devil wire chimney brush 30808 proved to be a useful addition to my cleaning arsenal. Its compact design and ability to navigate tight spaces made it a standout product, but the occasional loss of contact between the brush and the walls in deeper parts of the chimney was a drawback. Despite this minor issue, I would still recommend this brush to anyone seeking a thorough cleaning experience for their chimney.

🔗Universal Grill Scraper Tool with Bonus Bottle Opener

https://preview.redd.it/n89s2efk8i1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee636a4479d23e3ea5f1ded96bfdc1b808efd500
Using the Outset Universal Grill Scraper always feels like a game-changer when it comes to grilling. It's got this sturdy 304 stainless steel body that stands up to rough grill surfaces with ease, while also being small enough to easily slip into my pocket. The best part? It’s not just a scrubber - it's also a cleverly designed bottle opener!
One particular feature I find very useful is the flat side. It's perfect for dealing with indoor oven griddles or even outdoor surfaces. Moreover, it's incredibly easy to clean. After a long grilling session, it takes only a few quick rinses and it's as good as new.
However, there is a caution I learned the hard way: it's not suitable for some types of grill plates - porcelain or chrome ones, to be precise. But hey, that's the only drawback.
Overall, considering its versatility, ease of use, and durability, I'd wholeheartedly recommend the Outset Universal Grill Scraper to anyone who's serious about grilling. It's a simple tool, but it makes a world of difference.

🔗Pro-Shot AR-15 Chamber Cleaning Set with Heavy Duty Bore Brush and Stars

https://preview.redd.it/g9hwuwsk8i1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d8c7d3b829cbc85de511f7cf0c2bd2ee880f38f6
As a dedicated gun enthusiast, I was excited to try out the Pro-Shot Chamber Maid AR-15 Chamber Star Cleaning Set. The kit was compact and convenient, with a detachable handle and a flexible steel braid that made cleaning the chamber and lug recesses a breeze. The heavy-duty bronze bore brush with wider-diameter stainless steel bristles was effective in scrubbing the lug recesses, and the #8-32 threads ensured a snug fit.
One of the standout features was the Pro-Shot System, which offered precision engineering, making it a perfect fit for the AR-15 platform. However, I noticed that the cleaning rod could be a bit long for some users, resulting in a less comfortable hold. Nonetheless, the product proved to be efficient in cleaning my AR-15 chamber and lug recesses.

🔗Versatile Dryer Vent and Chimney Cleaning Kit with 6" and 4" Brushes

https://preview.redd.it/6v19v2gl8i1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4702ff69f749dd8dbca7a66a01e123946e80928a
I recently tried this qidobip Dryer Vent Duct Cleaner Kit, and let me tell you, it made a huge difference in my home. The set comes with a 4-inch and a 6-inch brush, which was perfect for cleaning both my dryer vent and chimney without any hassle. One of the key features that stood out to me was the 12 pieces of 2-foot rods that can extend up to 24 feet - super convenient for those hard-to-reach spots! The flexible reinforced nylon rods were durable and flexible, allowing me to clean corners with up to a 90-degree turn without breaking a sweat.
Now, I need to talk about the quick connector button lock. It was a lifesaver! No need to disconnect during any rotation direction, thanks to this clever feature. What's even better is that you can use the kit with or without a power drill, giving you the flexibility to choose the method that works best for you. Overall, I'm really happy with this product and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, easy-to-use cleaning tool.

Recently, I had the opportunity to test out the Gutter Cleaning Tool myself and I must say, it's a game-changer. Gone are the days of trying to wrestle with leaves and debris by hand while standing on a wobbly ladder. This tool effortlessly pulls the mess under the gutter hanger, making the cleaning process a breeze.
I particularly appreciated the unique hook design, which made it easy to reach those hard-to-reach areas. And with its ability to be attached to my own extension pole, I was able to clean gutters without having to move the ladder as often. This proved to be a time-saving feature, especially when dealing with larger gutters.
The tool's performance was impressive, as it effectively pulled leaves and debris through the gutter hangers. Plus, its reasonable cost made it an even more attractive choice. However, it's worth mentioning that you still need to climb up the ladder to use the tool, which could be a minor inconvenience for some users.
Overall, the Gutter Cleaning Tool has become a valuable addition to my toolkit, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to simplify their gutter cleaning experience.

I took the VEVOR Chimney Sweep Kit for a spin in my home, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience! The rich color of the cleaning brush made it look oh-so-fancy as I approached the task ahead.
First off, the high-quality brush head was a game-changer. The sturdy nylon rope bristles ensured it would last a long time, and the special pointed rectangular shape made cleaning the chimney a breeze without scratching it.
The premium nylon rod was a standout feature, too. Its elastic and break-resistant reinforced fibers allowed it to bend at angles greater than 90 degrees, providing the flexibility needed for cleaning those hard-to-reach spots.
The spring button locking system was a breeze to use, and I loved that it wouldn't loosen or disconnect during the rotation process. With the rich chimney cleaner at my side, I was able to remove creosote and other debris efficiently, aiding my fireplace in burning better and saving fuel.
Lastly, the kit came with various combinations to extend to different sizes, allowing me to clean hard-to-reach areas with ease. All in all, the VEVOR Chimney Sweep Kit made my life as a chimney cleaner much easier and more efficient. Highly recommended!

Buyer's Guide

When it comes to cleaning tools designed specifically for cat owners, the Catm4 Cleaning Tool is a popular choice. This versatile cleaning tool offers several features that make it an ideal option for cat owners looking to maintain a clean home. Here are some important considerations to keep in mind when selecting the best Catm4 Cleaning Tool for your needs.

Material

The material of the cleaning tool plays a significant role in its effectiveness and durability. Catm4 Cleaning Tools are typically made from high-quality, durable materials like stainless steel or plastic, which can withstand the wear and tear associated with daily use. Choose a tool that is easy to clean and resistant to damage. Some models even come with replaceable parts, making it a more cost-effective option in the long run.

Size and Comfort

Consider the size and comfort of the cleaning tool when choosing the best one for your needs. A tool that is too large or heavy can cause discomfort when using it frequently. Look for a tool with a comfortable grip and ergonomic design that allows for easy handling. The size of the tool should also be suitable for the area you want to clean, such as hard-to-reach spaces or corners.

Power and Performance

Power and performance are crucial factors when selecting a Catm4 Cleaning Tool. This cleaning tool typically operates on battery power, so ensure the tool comes with a rechargeable or replaceable battery. Check the manufacturer's specifications for the tool's power output and performance, such as suction strength, battery life, and noise level. A more powerful tool may be necessary for larger areas or thicker deposits.

Look for a tool with a versatile design that can easily switch between various cleaning tasks, saving you time and making your cleaning routine more efficient.

Price and Warranty

Finally, consider the price and warranty of the Catm4 Cleaning Tool when making your purchase. A more expensive tool may offer better features and performance, but it may not be necessary if you only need a basic cleaning tool. Ensure the tool comes with a warranty that covers any defects or issues, giving you peace of mind when making your purchase.

Race information

Goals

Goal Description Completed?
A Sub 1:38 No
B Sub 1:40 No
C As far sub 2:00 as possible Yes
D Run really fast Yes

Background

I was an athlete, but never a runner. Growing up I played baseball and soccer, then lacrosse and football. Running was something done in laps, and it was a punishment. I went on one run as a teenager, but it was with a girl I thought was cute, and I could barely keep up with her. Then, at 17, I tore my ACL. At 18 I had two surgeries for post-op infections from the ACL surgery. At 19, another surgery to remove one of the original screws from the ACL. At 20, I tore my meniscus and had a partial meniscectomy.
A few years later, I started running a little. Nothing regular, or structured. Then I made friends with a triathlete and was inspired to sign up for some races. I hated the swim, liked the bike, tolerated the run. I don’t think I ever ran more than 6.2 miles for the entirety of my 20s.
By 30, I couldn’t run. Osteoarthritis had kicked in hard and athletic stuff was too painful to enjoy. By 32 I was talking to orthopedic surgeons about a knee replacement. Injections didn’t work, and PT was prehab. Daily life was too much. I couldn’t sleep through the night, I was icing my knee at my desk during the day, stairs were a thing to be avoided if possible and navigated carefully if required - the whole bit. Keeping up with two toddlers was impossible.
A medium-sized miracle happened. I was accepted into a clinical trial, the “Atlas Study” for a new surgically implanted device that offloaded the medial side of the knee. I was nearly the last of 50 patients in this study - and definitely one of the youngest. Atlas was successful, and another trial followed, and then FDA approval just before the six years anniversary of my surgery. The device is now known as the MISHA Knee System.

Training

I ran somewhat irregularly, 8-10 miles in a good week, post-COVID. We got a treadmill in 2020 because my wife used to go the gym solely to run. So I made use of it, and never ran outside, 2020-April 2024.
I got it in my head to run a half marathon around the holidays. I was feeling good, and wanted a new goal. I started climbing again in September 2023, and wanted another, complementary challenge - something more concrete. I started my training the second week of January. I had no idea what I was doing. I just hoped I could train successfully, and without triggering knee pain.
I looked at the Hal Higdon Novice 1, and tweaked to my purposes - 3 days a week of running, three days of climbing, and some kickboxing classes thrown in for good measure. Plus a two week ski trip at serious altitude in late March - I’ll come back to this. So: Monday and Wednesdays were shorter runs, Saturdays were long runs. Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday were climbing days at my local gym. Plus a goal of a weekday kickboxing class and a weekend kickboxing class, which meant some days were a double. It was a big jump in training volume.
Monday and Wednesday runs started out at 3 miles and built up in half mile increments to 5, according to Hal’s plan. Dearest Hal says next to nothing about pace, so like an enthusiastic but naive child I just ran as close to my goal pace as possible, over the distance specified, hoping to get the treadmill to an average of 6.6. I basically negative split my runs at threshold out of the gates. And Saturday runs? The same thing. Trying to get to 6.6 on that treadmill. From no consistent base.
Then at the end of January I tore my TFCC - plus two other ligaments in my wrist. No climbing for 8 weeks, no kickboxing for at least that long. Cross training plans are out for a while.
Nothing but running to keep me sane, for a bit. Stuck with three days a week. I skipped racing the 5k and 10k in the plan and just advanced the long run to the next mile. But that ski trip hit, right after I ran 10 miles for the first time. Two weeks with a ton of cross training, and almost zero running - I tried one run, but at ~9000 feet instead of home at ~20, I died after about 2 miles.
Post trip, I had six weeks to race day. Climbing was back in as cross training. Shorter runs were all 5 miles, Saturday runs were 9, 10, 13.1, 10, 3, race day. I started reading Reddit voraciously and my TikTok feed started giving me running coaches and I discovered this wild idea called “zone 2 running” - wow was it easier! So weird. For the first time I did some intervals, some threshold work, a 10 mile progression run, and actual easy runs. It was in early April when I realized my original goal - break 2 hours - was the wrong time altogether. That 13.1 mile run was my second run off a treadmill. I had downloaded Strava but didn’t know it could tell me my times in my headphones. I just went out for an 11 mile run, felt good, extended it, and found out afterwards that I ran a 1:42:XX. I was shocked, my treadmill pace had never been that fast. And I was trying hard, but maybe not as hard as possible. I set new goals.
The next weekend I did a 10 mile progression run outside, with Strava telling me times. I had basically no time to learn what different paces felt like, so I negative split 10 miles and tried to remember what felt good, and what felt like too much.
Before you know it, it was time to taper. Another new experience for me. One climbing session, no kickboxing, 3 mile runs.

Race Day

I drove myself nuts trying to decide whether to run in my assigned corral, 1L, or drop back to 2A. Passing thousands of people or open roads? I’ll never know if I made the right call.
Slept horribly. Maybe 3.5 hours. Multiple wakeups and I was up for good at 4:10. I tried to use everything I learned about nutrition in the days leading up to the race - I was so hydrated, and had so. many. carbs. I had a very upset stomach on race morning and went light with food, had some Imodium, and focused on trying to follow the routine I laid out.
Commute was fine, getting checked in was fine, adrenaline was starting to kick in. Positioned myself at the front of L, and suddenly realized how many people were out there. It felt like forever to start moving, and then the slow walk… and around the corner, which I didn’t expect, and I started Strava early. And we’re off!
Within a minute it’s obvious that I am not going to be able to set my own pace against the prevailing tide of humanity. Maybe half a mile in I see a few people using the sidewalk on the right - nah, I think, then about 15 seconds later I’m blocked ahead and to my left and so say fuck it and go. Good decision.
My focus on the first 5k was not to go out too fast, but not to get bogged down in traffic. 7:58 mile average per NYRR. Mission accomplished.
My focus in the second 5k was to control the hills, but not burn out. And not create a big time deficit. And not get bogged down in traffic. 8:00 per mile average. Mission very accomplished.
10-15k, I wanted to open it up a bit. Not full throttle, I was worried about leaving something in the tank. And not getting bogged down in traffic. It was spacing out a bit more, but I was still running on the left side for clearer roads most of the time, and working right to get to the water stations. 7:27 average. Mission accomplished, and feeling good
Now we’re between mile 9 and 10. I take my third gel just before the aid station, and start to think about how fast I can go. Mile 10 of that progression run in training was 6:47. That’s the goal now. In retrospect - it was also with a vest, uncrowded Central Park roads, no slowing for aid stations. Repeat after me: you should not be upset with actual results. Mile 11-12 sucked. It was probably the only time I didn’t negative split. But: 15k to 20k - 7:21
Home stretch - I did not pay enough attention to the map; to Reddit, to NYRR’s descriptions. The big right on Surf Road? A surprise. Started my kick. The ramp to the Boardwalk? I guess it was new, but man did it feel terrible. Second attempt at a kick. Do not get bogged down. Smile! We’re through. 7:02 pace.

Post-race

Would I have run faster in Wave 2? We’ll never know, and hopefully never find out. Passing thousands of people because I guessed wrong about my time was weird. I used a lot of energy and ran a fair bit of extra distance because of it. 17 seconds to beat 1:40? Maybe. Or maybe I needed to pass people for motivation.
But more than anything, as I reflect, I am grateful. I’m grateful to be able to run at all, because I know what it’s like to struggle to walk.I am grateful for my doctor that referrred me to the study, to my surgeon, Dr Andreas Gomoll, to all the people behind the MISHA device. I’m grateful to Abby Bales, my PT for prehab and rehab from surgery, and everyone who has been a part of my crazy orthopedic history.
I caught the running bug. I’ll be back. Sub 1:35 feels like the next step. I’ve only just begun, and I achieved my biggest goal - run happy. I have the race photos to prove it.

2024.05.20 04:29 NarrownessOfTheJibs Post-D&C: Libido, Shame, and Fear

Hi everyone, the title of the post sounds like a title for a scholarly article or novel, but I really just couldn’t think of how else to put it.
For some context, I’m fairly new to this community. I underwent an emergency D&C this past Wednesday after having an incomplete MA which unfortunately, led to me hemorrhaging. It was terrifying and traumatic. I lost a lot of blood. Apparently I made it into the “rare complications” club where this happens to less than 1% of people who have an abortion, per the nurse who put me under sedation. This was not only my first abortion, but it was also my first pregnancy. I was 7 weeks, with a supportive and loving partner, making a decision as difficult as you all very well know.
Since the D&C, I thankfully am feeling much better and have been able to process everything more in terms of my emotions. It was hard to do that after the MA when I was still feeling all the pregnancy symptoms but unsure as to why. The day after the D&C I felt like myself again. The nausea, heart burn, food aversions - every single symptom I had was gone. Even my breasts weren’t as tender as they had unbearably been.
This experience, thankfully, made myself and my partner of 4 years even closer than we ever have been. I’m very grateful for that. He’s been incredible throughout this entire process and has held my hand every step of the way. So, yesterday, as I’m feeling relatively back to my normal self minus some fatigue - I look at my partner, feel those butterfly feelings, and my immediate thought was, How in the fuck can you be horny after what you just went through? What is wrong with you?
I immediately felt confusion, guilt, shame, and an uncontrollable desire to feel close to him. I started googling: “sex drive after abortion” “is it normal to be horny after an abortion?” “Why do I have such a high libido after an abortion?” I really didn’t find much in the topic beyond a few Reddit posts and some old forums. It made me feel even more guilty, that clearly MOST women don’t want to be touched at all after something like that, but I couldn’t control what was going on with my body.
For me, my libido was fairly average prior to all of this, but for some reason yesterday I could not control my sex drive. It was driving me crazy for hours. I didn’t want to tell my partner because I was ashamed and embarrassed to be feeling how I was. I also know he’s been processing everything too and I felt like if I made a move he would be upset by it because why wouldn’t he be? That’s the normal response. I’m the odd one here and I’m the one who went through the damn thing, right?
Easy fix! I’ll just have some sexy self-care time, right? As long as nothing goes in and I just keep it external, I should be all good right? Come to think of it, the nurses and doctors didn’t mention anything about it. What does goggle say? Nothing, really. Mostly just websites and forums saying no PIV for a week or two. Nothing about masturbation. Will I be okay? Will my uterus fall out? What if I start bleeding even heavier? Will it hurt? Will it slow down healing or speed it up? Why am I even thinking about any of this at all?
Just more guilt. More self-shaming. More anxiety, more fear, and at this point - I’m STILL horny. Screw it. I didn’t read anything saying don’t do it, so let’s just do this, but wait until my partner takes a shower so he doesn’t know. And that’s what I did. I waited until he was in the shower so I could do it in secret because I felt that much shame and that much guilt. I was worried, but my sex drive was so high I truly didn’t care in the moment. That is, up until the moment where I hit the big O and there was some cramping. It scared the shit out of me. But. It was mild, barely anything, and the big O was probably the biggest I’ve had in a long time.
Immediately after I felt relaxed, relieved. Then I went to the bathroom and after having mostly spotted since the D&C, my stomach dropped when I saw bright red on the toilet paper. Look at what you did. What’s wrong with you. You’re going to bleed out again because you were horny? It will be your fault, again.
I spent most of last night scared, worried, scrolling google for answers, and feeling horribly guilty. However, I woke up this morning alive and well, back to the super light barely noticeable spotting. Then about half way through the day, the butterfly feelings returned. IM HORNY AGAIN?! WHY?!?
Without going through all the details, I went through the whole entire cycle I did yesterday again today. Now, I’m here typing this extremely long post. If you’re still here reading, I really appreciate that. I doubt I’m alone in my experience and feelings as it’s far more rare to have a singular, independent thought or feeling that no one else on the planet has ever had. However, I don’t see this experience talked about much and I’m not sure the reasons, or maybe I just wasn’t looking in the right places to begin with. But, I want you to know if you have felt this or are feeling this way after your abortion - it’s okay.
I know my hormones are raging. I know I just went through something horribly traumatic and it’s normal to have anxiety after going through something like that, along with the complications. I also know that everyone’s libido after this experience will drastically vary from person to person. I’m trying to remind myself not to feel guilty after that and if what I went through isn’t a shameful thing, then why am I shaming myself for any feeling I have afterwards or if I want my body and mind to feel good again with a little sexy time self-care?
Anyways, that’s it. Stay strong out there. You got this. Feel what you feel and don’t be ashamed for it either way.

2024.05.20 04:05 lessadessa Is it more about what you eat or exercise?

sorry if this has been asked before, but I promise I tried to look for this answer and couldn’t find what I was looking for. I genuinely do not understand how this works. Two years ago, my mom passed away and after being the same healthy weight for most of my adult life, I went on an antidepressant and quickly gained 15 pounds in less than three months. Ever since then I have been trying so hard to get my head back on straight and also get back to my pre-antidepressant weight. I can safely admit that I have not been restricting myself too much on calorie intake because I told myself that I did not want to punish myself in this process. I have been exercising much more and counting my calories which I have been keeping below what my supposed maintenance is according to this app and some other websites I have checked for my height and weight. Along with walking 2.5 miles three or four days a week and hitting the gym for about 30 to 45 minutes a few days every week as well, I feel like I should have lost a few pounds since January. But no, not a single pound has come off. My clothes are still fitting tight, I had some clothes that were a little bit tight before and I can’t fit into them at all anymore. I refuse to throw them away because I like my clothes and I don’t want to give up. it would feel like defeat if i did that. So I really just want to know should I be restricting my food way more than I am? Because all this extra exercise isn’t doing Jack shit for me. I’m very frustrated and growing tired of holding myself to this standard and seeing absolutely no results. It feels like we seriously need almost no food at all to survive if this is the case. Like, if I eat one bowl of pasta a week it’s like I have undone everything and it feels so bad. So do I really have to change my mindset to reducing my calories to the point where I am basically eating what feels like next to nothing every day to actually make any progress? I would appreciate some kind honesty here. thanks.

2024.05.20 03:45 isereee [No Due Date] First story I've written, This is just the prologue! let me know what you think!

This narrative delves into the journey of a man whose quest for truth leads him to unravel the mysteries not only surrounding his own existence but also shedding light on the intricacies of life in 1950s America. As he delves deeper into the past, he uncovers layers of hidden realities, unearthing forgotten tales and untold secrets that paint a vivid picture of an era marked by both progress and prejudice. With each revelation, he navigates through the complexities of identity, society, and history, ultimately piecing together a mosaic of truths that challenge his perceptions and reshape his understanding of the world around him. Let us begin...
Prologue
On a rainy Tuesday afternoon, the 13th of August 2022, the traffic whispered by outside my apartment, setting the stage for a day that would defy all expectations. Jameson Blackwell, or James to those close to him, stumbled into the kitchen, his mind already drifting to the grind of another day at the office. But this day, oh, this day would carve its own place in his memory.
As he poured his morning coffee, a sense of unease crept over him, a feeling he couldn't quite shake. Ignoring it, he trudged to the pantry in search of a quick breakfast, only to be met with an inexplicable chill as he reached the back shelves. Shrugging it off, he returned to the kitchen, only to freeze at the sight beyond his window.
The dreary town of Tucumcari, New Mexico, had undergone a transformation, morphing back into its former glory as a bustling hub along the iconic Route 66. But this wasn't a mere restoration; it was as if time itself had rewound, dragging the past into the present with an eerie insistence that could only be described as otherworldly. And James, standing alone in his kitchen, couldn't shake the feeling that something sinister lurked behind this sudden shift in reality.
I rubbed my eyes, half-expecting the sunshine-soaked streets of Tucumcari to dissolve like a mirage in the desert heat. But the warmth on my skin, the laughter echoing through the bustling town—there was no denying the reality of it all. With a sense of urgency clawing at my insides, I hastily threw on my suit, the fabric feeling like a stranger against my skin, and stumbled outside.
The vibrant energy of 1950s Tucumcari enveloped me like a comforting embrace, a stark contrast to the bewildered chaos raging within. But amidst the bustling crowds and the cheery façade of the town, there lingered an unsettling absence—an emptiness left by the conspicuous absence of my car.
As I turned towards my apartment building, relief washed over me like a wave crashing against the shore. Its weathered façade stood as a testament to the resilience of its inhabitants, a beacon of familiarity in a world turned upside down.
Inside, the quaint simplicity of my surroundings served as a stark reminder of the temporal rift that had brought me here. But amidst the nostalgic charm of 1950s Tucumcari, there lurked an anomaly—a lone smartphone, a relic of the future, nestled within the confines of my pocket.
With trembling hands, I retrieved the smartphone, its sleek surface glinting in the sunlight like a beacon of hope in the gathering darkness. In a town steeped in the innocence of a bygone era, this artifact of the future served as a harbinger of the unknown, a reminder that time was not a linear path but a twisted labyrinth of possibility.
I made my way down Main Street in Tucumcari, my footsteps echoing against the revitalized storefronts that once stood in desolate silence. Bright neon signs pierced the night, casting an otherworldly glow upon the streets. Ice cream shops beckoned with promises of sweetness amidst the shifting shadows.
"How am I supposed to live without proper currency or identification?" I muttered to myself, the words swallowed by the cacophony of the bustling town. With a knot of uncertainty tightening in my gut, I turned on my heel and sprinted back to my apartment.
Up the stairs, heart pounding against my ribs, I flung the door open and slammed it shut behind me. The familiar comfort of my surroundings offered little solace as I made my way to the pantry, desperate for a way back to my own time.
But as I reached the back shelves, that unsettling feeling washed over me once more—a sense that something was dreadfully amiss. Disheartened but undeterred, I returned to the kitchen and cast a glance out the window.
There it was, the sight of 2022, unchanged and unwavering. Despite my brief journey into the past, no time had passed in the present. It was a peculiar anomaly, one that left me scratching my head in bewilderment.
But with determination burning in my veins, I shrugged off the strangeness and turned to my computer. A quick search led me to a sports betting book from the 1950s—an opportunity to turn my predicament into profit. As for identification, well, I took a gamble on a sketchy website peddling "replica ID cards from the 1950s-60s."
With bated breath, I placed my order and awaited the arrival of my ticket back in time—both to a bygone era and to a future of uncertainty.

2024.05.20 03:10 Past-Signature-1202 2 startups (and many failures along the way), here are the 20 steps I took to generate $9.8M (profit) in 4 years.

I went from a jobless art school dropout to banking $9.8 million (profit) in just four years.
Recently, I sat back to reflect on what advice I'd give myself if I could go back in time to chat with 21 year old me, when I was starting my first company.
Disclaimer: yes, the points below are high level. This isn't meant to be a recipe book where I say, I did exactly X, to produce Y. The reason for this is the specifics are different for every business, and my goal with this exercise is to give my younger self directional guidance, not a recipe book to recreate the exact same businesses.
I'm happy to unpack any of these in more detail, feel free to ask.
Lastly, the trolls usually come out when I mention profit numbers openly because they've been burnt too many times by fake "gurus" or ppl trying to sell them courses with bogus numbers. I've got nothing to sell anyone (my agencies sell to VC backed tech companies who don't hang out on here), so really just sharing this for the reasons I mentioned above (lessons for my younger self) since I know there are a ton of first time entrepreneurs on here who could benefit.
Alright, enough with the disclaimers, let's do this:
  1. Time Commit Goals: First up, decide how many hours you're ready to grind each week. I capped mine at 25 hours to avoid burnout. It's amazing how much you can get done if you proactively block your calendar.
  2. Financial Goals: Define how much you want to earn. My initial target was $40k/month within the first year (ended up blowing past that target).
  3. Timeline: Set a clear timeline for your financial goals. As mentioned above, I aimed to hit $40k/month within the first year.
  4. Role Definition: Decide early if you’re going to be hands-on or oversee the big picture. It makes a huge difference. There's a great book called Traction that talks about the difference between a Visionary and an Implementer. I found it necessary to be both in the early days, but have since transitioned out of "Implementer" mode.
  5. Brand Legitimacy: Build the most legit brand you can — within a week. Overthinking it is your enemy. Too many people wax poetic about their brand, website, etc. Yes, it's super important an it can make you look more legit than you actually are in the early days, HOWEVER - many people spend too much time on this step, months even, and then never launch, or when they do, they have a false expectation that simply by launching their biz will do well. This couldn't be further from the truth. Building your brand and site is the fun part. Once you launch the real work starts ;)
  6. Start Selling Immediately: Hit up your network, face regular rejections, and learn from each "no."
  7. Your First Customers: These folks will help shape your business more than anyone else. Listen closely and adapt. The product idea you launch with - most likely is not the product that's right for the market. But you won't know what needs to change until you launch and start landing early customers.
  8. Price Sensitivity Testing: Start low, then increase as demand builds. I go into a ton of detail about exactly how I do price sensitivity testing in this video.
  9. Scaling Decisions: I used to think scaling was the only option. Go big or go home. If you're not growing like crazy you're a loser. But I was wrong. And dumb. That's a silly idea. There are many paths to success. Some want to go big, fast. Others want to go smoothly, slowly. Scaling isn't mandatory. I've done both and prefer somewhere in the middle of fast and slow.
  10. Master Hiring: Good hiring isn't luck; it’s a skill and crucial for growth. My companies are both services businesses (a marketing agency and a design agency) and so the quality of our hires is the quality of our product offering. This also means getting good at firing. It's just part of the job.
  11. Setting the Pace: Lead by example (duh). I’m all in when I work, ensuring I’m focused and driving progress. The team will draft off your pace, and the folks who can't keep up will make it clear they're not a good fit.
  12. Team Management: I use the EOS (entrepreneur operating system) methodology to manage my teams—it’s a game-changer for accountability and clarity. It's free to learn, and easy to implement.
  13. Proactive Marketing: Share every win. If you don’t champion your successes, no one else will.
  14. Empower Customers: Turn clients into advocates. Strong relationships lead to referrals, which are (literal) gold.
  15. Streamline Offerings: Keep your services tight and focused. Simplicity scales.
.... ok this post is getting too long. I was going to share 20 but this is turning into a novel. I shared all 20, along with a bunch of specific details in this video, feel free to check it out if the first 15 resonated with you. https://youtu.be/Gwqjljmr_pU
Curious - for those who have done a few startups before, do these resonate with you?
And for those who haven't yet - did you already have all of these on your radar? Anything you're interested in trying yourself?

2024.05.20 02:38 Rafaeldizeo12 24M looking for accountability buddy

Hi! I’m currently a university student on summer vacation right now. I want to take advantage of this time to become more productive by developing a daily routine. I want to improve on my drawing and design skills, continue working on my personal business and website, complete daily tasks and find some time to work on my hobbies. My main focus is also to lose weight. I have been working out and dieting for about a week and would like to stay consistent throughout the next few months. I’d also love to improve on my mental health, and losing weight would help me feel better about myself.
I’m looking for someone who is willing to check up on my progress, either daily or a few times a week, to make sure I’m staying on track. I will do the same thing for you, and give you support and encouragement to follow through with your goals. I’m located in the United States, Eastern standard time (GMT -4). We can check up on each other here on Reddit or discord. Thanks!

2024.05.20 02:15 No-Pudding7670 Passed my SIE exam yesterday! 1 week of Study!

VERY IMPORTANT: Use the two free Achievable SIE dump Sheets and watch both the S7g.u.r.u and S7 Whisperer 60 min crash course SIE YouTube videos the day before or day of test! Mine were the Options Matrix, SLoBS & BLiSS, yield teeter totter, settlement times, and Key Open vs Closed end market notes. (All on the achievable dump sheets except Open/Closed Markets).
Days 4-5 (Tues, Wed) - 5 hrs each day (2 before work and 3 after) - Take 1-2 Pass Perfect Final exams (1 hr 45 min each) each day, taking time to focus/take notes on anything I missed - Goal of 4 total tests, with 75% or higher on 3
Day 6 (Friday, day before the test) - 5 hours (2 hrs before work, 3 hours after) - Take 1 FINRA practice SIE exam before work (free on FINRA website) - after work, Review all Difficult Topics - Listen to S7g.u.r.u & S7 whisperer on YouTube.
Day 2 (Sun): 10 hours Completed chapters 4&5 again taking tons (too many) notes, taking quizzes and Tests multiple times, worried I wasn’t getting the concepts and terms well enough.
Completed chapters 7-10 Whew, these chapters weren’t as bad, maybe it’s getting easier.
I decided no more tests, I’ll listen to the other crash course (S7g.u.r.u 60 min crash course on YouTube). 🤞
8am—11:30 Crunch time. Im determined to pass this exam!! Spent 3 hours listening to the 60 min S7g.u.r.u video, pausing when needed, replaying as needed. Took 11 pages of color coded notes on the most important points and formulas I needed to remember, mainly on Regulations (what market does it impact, what type of product, who, timeframes). I knew this was going to be at least 15% of test (I was right) and these were the main questions I missed on my Practice Finals
11:30am Renewed Faith 🙌 DAMN I learned a LOT. I’m gonna pass this thing! I was already getting low 70s on Thursday practice tests and I KNOW I learned enough from the video to pass several more questions. S7g.u.r.u literally saved me, pulling it all together in my mind! 🤯
12pm Went to UPS store, printed the 2 Achievable dump sheets and my 11 pages of notes from the video! I scanned them at every red light on the way 😂
12:59 arrived at test center. Spent 20 minutes reviewing dump sheets and drilling in my mind what to put on the 2 pages they give me for notes (specifically below and in links)
Reviewed marked questions and changed only 3, if I was SURE my original answer was wrong.
I hit submit and held my breath. 🫢 OMG, does that say PASS?!!! Yes, I actually Passed! 😳 I cried out of happiness and relief, was on cloud 9. I will never cram like this again!
Don’t shoot yourself in the foot!
2 DON’T SPEND TOO MUCH TIME on EARLY CONCEPTS! The earlier (and for the most part, less valuable - less test questions) content will be reinforced throughout course. Most of the concepts build over the course, so the basics are reinforced later anyway. I wasted several hours!
3 EXPECT 20-25 hours are needed to complete the course/learn the concepts! Give yourself a day on REGULATIONS and 5 hours on OPTIONS , these comprised a LOT of questions on the test, could make or break you!
4 TAKE at least 4 PRACTICE FINALS with a goal of 75%, but if you’re not improving, use the crash course Videos, learn the content! Don’t take 5 more tests in lieu of learning!
5 SPEND A FEW HOURS on (free) ACHIEVABLE DUMP SHEETS and S7g.u.r.u & S7 Whisperer crash course review videos on YouTube! I would not have passed without these!

2024.05.20 01:33 Cold_Emu_6093 Feeling stressed and frustrated about my wedding planner.

I apologize for the length and incoherence of this post in advance.
I just want to vent a bit about some anxiety I’m having. For the sake of brevity, MF = my fiancé/partner, WP = our wedding planner.
For some background context, MF is American and lives in the U.S. and I am not American and live in my home country. Our wedding is going to take place in the U.S. about a year from now on MF’s family’s property. MF lives one state over (a five hour drive) from where our wedding will take place so neither of us are currently local to the area and we both have pretty demanding jobs which is why we felt it was important for us to hire a wedding planner to help us plan our wedding.
We hired WP earlier this year and in the beginning, I was really excited to work with her. She’s really sweet, we got a good vibe off of her, we really liked her style and approach to weddings, and she specializes in events in the specific area we’re getting married in. After our initial meeting, MF and I decided to go ahead and pay for her full service package. Her full service package includes things like monthly planning meetings/check-ins, putting together a detailed budget breakdown based on how much we’re willing to spend and our priorities, building us a wedding website, event and invite, and of course, vendor sourcing.
In the beginning, things seemed to be going fine but over the past three months, her communication has dwindled and I’m getting worried about whether I can trust her to get things done.
For all of our meetings, except our initial consultation, she has forgotten to send us a Zoom link until one or two minutes before or after our meeting was supposed to start. This would be inconsequential if I didn’t have to remind her every time we have a meeting. We’ve been meeting with her since the beginning of this year and in every monthly meeting, she has been asking us the exact same questions about our vision which makes me feel like she’s not fully paying attention.
During our last meeting in April, she said she would be sending us a list of potential vendors but that it would take one to two weeks for her to do it and then we’d go over them and discuss booking vendor consults at our next meeting in May and that she’d reach out to book a meeting with us. We had no issue with this.
A couple months ago we (WP, MF and I) also decided that MF and I would be going down there in early June (a year out from our wedding) to do a site visit of our venue with WP and meet with potential vendors to start getting things booked. Because I live in a different country, I can’t just meet with local vendors on a whim so I needed to pre-plan a time to do this. So I booked some vacation time in the first week of June for this specific purpose.
In our April meeting, WP had also mentioned that her own wedding was happening at the end of this month and she’d be taking some time off for that and she’d let us know when that would be. Of course, this isn’t a problem and we’re very excited for her and wanted to make sure we left her alone after our May meeting so she could focus on her own big day.
As of earlier this week, it has been a month since our last meeting and she had not followed up to send us the vendors list or let us know when she was going to be off and schedule the meeting. She has been active on Instagram so I figured she wasn’t off yet and wanted to check in again since I hadn’t heard back from her on my last email.
I sent her a friendly follow-up email a couple days ago wishing her well on her upcoming wedding and asking her when she’ll be out of office so we know to not disturb her during that time, if she still intended to meet with us before she took her time off and if she was still intending to send us the list of potential vendors because I’m trying to get some meeting booked for when I’m down there in June.
The main reason I’m worried is that I had already booked my trip and the time off work to go meet with vendors at the beginning of June and without the vendor information she was supposed to be sharing, I’m concerned I won’t be able to book meetings with vendors and make the most of my time.
She emailed me back saying that she’s so sorry but wedding season is in full swing, she’s behind on our vendor research and that she’ll be off starting tomorrow until June 1 but she absolutely promises she’ll get me the vendor list really soon. She also said she probably won’t have time to meet this month unless MF and I were open to an early morning meeting. In response, to my mention of my trip down there she said yeah, you’ll want to check out some food and beverage vendors but florals, cakes, photographers and DJs can all just be booked over the phone.
She also stressed that she strives to respond to all emails within 24-48 hours and to just send her an email if we have a question for her.
I sent her a follow up email thanking her for confirming those details and said we were willing to do a morning meeting and asked her if she had a specific day in mind for that but it’s been three days and she hasn’t responded. I know she’s on vacation starting tomorrow so I don’t really want to pester her again.
To be clear, I would never expect my wedding to take precedence over everything, nor do I want to bother her while she’s preparing for her own wedding because I want her to be able to enjoy that without having to worry about work stuff but I am concerned about her not following through on multiple tasks.
Because of scheduling and short staffing at my job, I won’t be able to move my vacation to a later week to give her more time to pull together the vendors list. I understand things get busy and sometimes people need more time to get things done but I just wish she had communicated that to us sooner so I could’ve maybe moved my vacation to another time. I probably won’t be able to visit the area again until fall or winter.
I don’t want to assume that I know how to do other people’s jobs but event planning (though more so for corporate and media events, not weddings) is a big part of my job. She has been doing weddings in that area for years now and so I’m a bit surprised that within the month since we last met, she hasn’t been able to just send us a list of vendors she has worked with before. I know weddings vary from couple to couple so different vendors will work for different people but the wedding MF and I are planning and the budget we’re working with isn’t atypical from many of the other weddings WP has done. At this point, I don’t even care if it’s a curated list, I’d just like to know who and what is available in the area.
I’m not trying to be a difficult bride, but I’m already quite stressed about having my wedding somewhere that isn’t familiar to me and getting everything booked from afar. As of right now, I’m doing my own vendor research, which is fine but a bit challenging. Because where we’re getting married is quite rural, a lot of local vendors aren’t great with having information about their services online and many don’t even have websites.
I know I can (and am) doing this myself, but I’m quite busy at work so I’m a bit disappointed I’m now scrambling to find my own vendors when we specifically hired her to do this for us. She also said she would put together a broken down budget by category but she hasn’t yet which would’ve been very helpful to have prior to looking into vendors.
Again, I completely understand things happen, life gets busy and sometimes people can’t deliver when they initially thought they could but I just wish WP would keep us in the loop. I really want her to be able to enjoy and focus on her wedding but it concerns me that she hasn’t delivered on the things she has promised to. She has talked about how busy she is and how she has so many weddings on the go and now I’m worried that by taking on our wedding, she may have bitten off more than she can chew.
I will give her the benefit of the doubt and give her a chance to catch up on things after she’s back from her own wedding/vacation but so far, I don’t feel very confident that she’ll come through for us or be mindful that our unique situation may require a slightly different timeline on some things.
If she is too busy to actually do our wedding, I hope she will be honest and let us know sooner rather than later. I’m worried about the prospect of finding a replacement planner a year out.
I’m sorry for my rant and maybe I’m being unreasonable and crazy. I’m just very stressed out by all the uncertainty.

Training

For this year, I really wanted to do better than I did last year, so I switched training plans from 80/20 to Coach Jenny's Advanced Half Marathon. I ended up doing most of the training despite having to deal with a current legal matter in relation to a family member's passing. It has been my sanity while dealing with lawyers and the courts.
I ended up running a total of 339.37 miles in preparation for this race and I cross trained with Pilates 2x a week. I mostly stuck to Zone 2 training and I started out the year running 14:26/mi in Zone 2 to my last run before this race at 12:16/mi, so I can tell you that Zone 2 training really does work. Just got to be patient, put in the miles, put your ego to the side, and stick with it.

Pre-race

I had been struggling with a sore throat since Friday afternoon, and I tried to brush it off thinking it might be allergies. The sore throat turned into nasal congestion on my right side over Saturday. I took NyQuil to try and get some sleep Saturday night since I was already nervous about doing the race and trying for a better time. Only ended up getting about 3-4 hours of sleep.
I also did Featherstone Nuitrition's carb loading protocol of loading up of 700 grams of carbs from Thursday - Saturday in preparation for the race.
I woke up at 3 a.m. to do my routine of getting my last carb load in of some Tailwind and a couple of slices of bread and some massage gun work on my calves. My throat was still bothering me and I was still dealing with the congestion. I figured at that point that I was going to at least try and run this race since I trained up for it.
Got to the race around 5:30, and did the usual routine of going to the porta potties, warming up, and stretching while having some conversations with people around me.
Then it was time to line up and then get the race going.

Race

The start of the race was a little chilly since there was cloud cover. I knew it was going to be hot because it was supposed to be in the 70s by 8 o'clock according to the forecast. Being that this is my third go-around on this, I knew how hot I was going to get on the ashphalt and I was starting to worry a little between being sick and the heat what this race was going to be like.
Mile 1 was okay, but I knew I was going way too fast and the pacer I was trying to follow was also going way too fast. I felt okay for the most part. The clouds broke apart and the sun came out and started warming things up.
Mile 2 was also okay even though there was that incline that went past the high school and there was at least shade from the trees.
Mile 3 was when I started feeling more sick as I went up the hill to the zoo and the heat started to get to me.
Mile 4 - 5 was the zoo, and it was cool seeing the animals but I was starting to get on the struggle bus to make it through. I was starting to feel crappy and my gels that I normally take without any issue were beginning to make me a bit nauseous. I was starting to pour cups of water on me at aid stations to try and cool me off.
Mile 6 was when the thought of DNF started to come up as I ran past the museum and started back up the hill past the high school. The heat plus I started to really feel sick was making me crack.
Mile 7 was when I ended up calling it after I got caught up with a run/walk group that was running for one minute and walking for one minute. I figured I would try to power through the race with them, and I just couldn't keep up. I really started to feel like poo at that point, and I decided that it was best for my health to bow out.

Post-race

I am pretty sad about how things went since I trained and improved so much for this race and that my longest training run was 15 miles, so I know I am capable of running this distance.
At the same time, I know that I could possibly have screwed myself up pretty bad if I kept on powering through just to say I finished.
I ended up having my husband pick me up from where I bowed out of the race, got breakfast, and then took some more NyQuil to crash three hours. I'm not much better since I still have the sore throat and congestion. We're supposed to go on a vacation tomorrow, but I don't know if that is going to be happening either. :(
I can at least say that I tried and I went over halfway point of the half-marathon. Personally, I think I should have not have started and just admitted to myself that I am sick and that today was not going to be a good race day.
Not sure if I am going to get on this horse again, but I have until January next year to think about it. I did finish the two previous times although with what I would consider crappy times.
I do feel that this race at times is cursed for me in some ways since it seems like I'm dealing with major life events while trying to train for this race. I might do the 5k if I sign up for anything Colfax related next year. We'll see depending upon my life circumstances, but I know I'm a stubborn person and I really do want to conquer this race at some point in my life.
I think if I do end up signing up for this race again next year that I am going to do way more hill training and figure out way to simulate the heat on asphalt during the winter since that is the part of the race that has nearly broken me the last two times I ran this race.
I really wanted to make this race my best HM yet, but I know we all can't anticipate getting sick before a race. These things just happen, and unfortunately today wasn't my day.
Hope that others who did run today had an awesome race and congrats to everyone who finished or at least tried.

2024.05.20 00:11 elephant1012 Red light camera ticket - can I ignore it?

Got a ticket in the mail issued to my dad (he's the registered owner) however I'm driving. I'm wearing sunglasses so you can't even tell it's me but obviously I know it is.
I do remember trying to make this yellow light, it turned red as I was entering the intersection but I didn't feel like I could stop because I was already going kind of fast.
My dad would have to fill out the affidavit of non liability (which was attached) before the court date (sept 16) so if he does, and then I receive the ticket to myself, could I just ignore it? People online say to ignore it but red light camera tickets ARE legal so I'm scared...I've also read not to go to their website because it's admitting that you received the ticket
It says I can pay the bail but doesn't even say what the fine is ? Unless something else is coming in the mail. I've heard they're really expensive
if anyone has any insight on what I should/can do, that would be greatly appreciated!
(Note: please no reprimanding me about how I shouldn't have done that, only real advice and insight)
