Hi everyone, I'm a software engineer team lead at an AI company. I've been with the company for one year, managing a team of five engineers. About four months ago, the sales team proposed a new product to meet their business goals and attract new contracts. The CEO, a former software engineer, directly instructed our product manager that the engineering team needed to develop a marketable product within two weeks, citing that ChatGPT could write code. It was surprising to hear this from the CEO, who then criticized us for not utilizing ChatGPT for development and suggested that engineers like us were outdated. Despite feeling blamed, I worked with our product manager to create a demo and potential solutions. When we informed the team about the two-week deadline for a new feature, they were unwilling to commit their time. They felt the product manager and I should have managed the CEO's expectations better and avoided unrealistic projects. Since it was a direct request from the CEO, the product manager and I had no choice but to comply. After days of hard work, we finally produced a demo. During the presentation, the CEO quickly became enraged, accusing me of poor leadership and lack of contribution. I was shocked but tried to explain our efforts and demonstrate the demo. Eventually, the CEO approved the project. Oddly, even with the project's approval, I no longer felt excited or a sense of ownership after being unjustly blamed. Shortly after, the sales team changed their strategy, and the new product was canceled. The product manager was disheartened and quit in the spring. I still need this job for economic reasons, but I've lost my passion for it. I'm not sure if this incident is the root cause of my recent feelings of pointlessness at work. Has anyone experienced something similar? How did you handle it?

  • Various conspiracies spread online over the last weekend in April. HYBE labels BIGHIT Music and SOURCE Music released statements vowing to take legal action to protect their artists against slander and groundless rumors. A court hearing was held on the 30th to determine a schedule for ADOR's board meeting.

  • ADOR's board meeting was held. The shareholders' meeting at the end of May was scheduled. Claims fired back and forth around HYBE continuing their audit and obtaining a personal laptop from an ADOR employee over potential embezzlement concerns. Min Hee Jin filed an injuction against HYBE. A letter from the parents of NewJeans with complaints of the group's treatment was made public, which HYBE later rebutted. HYBE requested an investigation of ADOR's VP selling HYBE shares a week before the audit.
MEGATHREAD SIX primarily covered the Injunction Hearing on May 17th.
  • The Injunction Hearing was held to determine if HYBE would be able to exercise their voting rights to remove CEO Min Hee Jin from her position at the shareholders' meeting to be held on May 31st. The messages included MHJ privately using sexist/abusive language to disparage the NewJeans members and a staff member who had made a sexual harassment complaint against ADOR VP L (all alleged).

Now that we've covered every possible point from the Clickteam games, let's take this information and form a timeline. Please note that not all of the specifics will be agreed upon, but I believe the general dates are correct.
And that's it. This post took me all day writing out and double-checking to make sure I didn't get anything incorrect, but I'm sure there are a few typos or inconsistencies and that there are pieces of information I've missed. After all, no one knows all the answers about FNaF except Scott himself, and even Scott makes mistakes. But I feel confident in this and hope that it leaves some sort of impact.

I want to present a dystopian speculation about humanity’s nearest future, where I describe the new average "Collective Psyche" or "Cultural Mindset."
First, imagine the depth of changes our world society has lived through in the last 25 years. The very low Internet influence in 1999 is the opposite of what we have in 2024. So many things came with the Internet, like being online, social media, access to information, access to communication, a new level of entertainment, and even a touch of AI. You can see how dramatically humans have changed. The new professions, new morals, and new science have made today’s grown-up person’s life much different from the same person's life 25 years ago.
Imagine the creation of AI today as if it is the beginning of a new 25-year cycle. Twenty-five years is a natural human generation change period. Things will continue to change dramatically; it’s a fact based on observations.
Now, how much will we change in 25 years? At 2049. I have an interesting guess to share. I base my thought experiment on calculating the possible outcomes of the development of existing cultural and technical abilities of society.
Consider three unrelated trends of today:
1. Rabbit R1 release. A gadget trying to predict the future “smartphone killer” tech.
2. Merging of inner monologue and a transmitted voice of media.
3. ADHD and lifetime mediational modifications.
Speaking to your inner self and no one else is considered a higher value and a goal for everyone.
Being free and independent is considered good. Letting other people be different and not violating their freedom is considered good. So where does this naturally bring us? Your own head borders. Only your inner self might be good, relaxing, and safe enough not to violate the objective world and other beings. So “Buddha within your own head” is the highest state of a personal enlightenment you can get. All future will tend toward it.
Each of the three viewed trends can help us imagine what that future state of mind could feel like.
Master, can I please get into your head? Not now, rabbit, not now. Wait a bit and order me a pizza.
1. Rebbit R1 “the future of human-machine interface.”
As they call themselves, this company focuses on creating the next step gadget where the user connects to their AI helper mostly by voice. Rebbit R1 is AI in a box with a camera, microphone, and sound system that interacts with you and the digital world following your verbal requests.
If their prediction is correct, soon we might fully rely on our daily routine life management to the AI just by speaking to it. It already looks much like the inner dialogue people usually have in their heads. It is a very natural feeling to be able to discuss anything just here and now. But what is different is the absolute objective world knowledge of AI's inner voice.
The further logical thing to do will be merging that voice from a device into your head. If this idea with a 24/7 voice advisor works with R1 or any other similar out-of-the-body device, it will tend to transform into your head directly. Neuralink style. Or any other.
So we can state with a high level of certainty that soon we will have an inner voice advisor in our heads. Not mandatory, but using it will plug you into modern life. People who will not use it will be less productive and die out sometime later.
All you need is to get a quick thought:
  • “Helper?” (or any other name)
  • “Yes, master.”
  • “Please turn on the oven, order a Grab bike for my daughter to bring her to school, pay from my second card, and read me the report about our stock plan as of now.”
  • “Grab bike and oven are done, master. Here is the report about stocks:…”
  • “Sing it to me.”
  • “Yes, master.”
Can you imagine a life like that? You don’t need many people to surround and support you if you have a world-wise AI assistant in your head, helping you with absolutely everything.

2. Merging of inner monologue and a transmitted voice of media.
The most popular formats on YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram now include verbal descriptions of everything. A girl tells and shows you how to do makeup. Guys are playing a shared online game and tell you their experience. All those talk shows. One of the markers that can show “talking voice in your head explaining things” is becoming more and more popular is voice-over videos that never needed voice-over before. Like today, it is popular to see a short video where some fun stuff happens, but there is a voice that describes everything in 3-4 seconds. It helps not to lose the attention of users while they doom-scroll through those short videos forever.
Another disturbing side effect of shorts is that the stories in short videos always come with their clear and fast-exposed plot twists. So there is a constant feeling of “getting all the best at this moment” Dopamine trap.
So a migration of a voice from a device into a head might happen almost unnoticed by some individuals.
Hey, I can be bored, sad and laughing and running around all at once.
3. ADHD and lifetime medication modifications.
Let’s trace only this group of disorders called ADHD progress over some time for example. Data for the US.
- 1960s-1970s: Estimates suggested that hyperactivity disorders affected about 1-3% of children.
- 1980s: Studies began to show higher prevalence rates, with some estimates around 3-5% of children.
- Currently, this rate is about 9-11%.
That means that roughly this diagnosed disorder type case number grows by 1% each decade.
Also, I will just say with no links, but it is quite obvious that the usage of medical treatments for modifying users' health, pain issues, and mood has grown lately. We can see it by checking the net worth of the pharmacy market in the US.

• 1960: $1.5 billion
• 1970: $3 billion
• 1980: $8 billion
• 1990: $20 billion
• 2000: $50 billion
• 2010: $200 billion

Significant growth is driven by advancements in pharmaceuticals, healthcare policies, and demographic changes.
It is somewhat manipulative to connect the ADHD rates and the value of the pharmacy market; I don’t want to say it is connected. I just say that there are clearly more meds now in US. I don’t judge anyone for taking any, so it’s just to make a different point. Follow up.
Meds modify your chemical balance and your mood, directly affecting your plans for the day and for life. What are your values? Getting some meds can make you more passive or non-violent. Other pills improve other features of human mood and consciousness. A medicated and modified consciousness is better hardware to install an “inner voice.” In the world of drugged perception, this AI voice in your head could become the only thing you can hold onto, and losing it might turn into a feeling of losing yourself.
So AI voice in your head will not drive you crazy, it will help you not to become insane.

In conclusion, we can see that there is a huge trend of moving some AI-generated buddy into your head. It happens in media devices and online platforms naturally. People are more stressed about complicated rules of the outside world that bring so many threats and efforts just to survive. Instead, an inner buddy for dialogues will be the only safe place to be. It will drive enormous popularity when the tech is ready and accessible.
What to do next? Maybe it’s good to invest your time and money in that direction, in valuable tech corporations' papers. Or you can think of all that support industry that is needed. Like a delivery of everything to everyone. Home adjustments, or new professions that might come with that “in-head voice” and start researching that now. While it’s only the beginning of this imaginary 25-year cycle. If you get into it now, you might become the next Amazon or Facebook creator and owner. The next person to invent something big in a new world ecosystem.

  1. Set a goal
Getting a Good CGPA is very important. A lot of people might say marks don’t matter but they really matter. Your parents,friends,professors will respect you if you get good marks. Your confidence will increase a lot if you are good in academics. Decide in the beginning if you want to be someone with 9+ CGPA or 7.5+ CGPA and study accordingly.
  1. College clubs
Decide if you want to get in a college club. It is absolutely gold for socialising but remember sometimes you just waste your time,work your ass off for the seniors and get nothing out of it. This is strictly my personal opinion. I realised I was not really able to learn anything and just doing donkey work,wasting 4-5 hours in a day and I quit it.
  1. Professors
Some professors are straight evil but you have to deal with them. Get close with 2-3 professors,take suggestions from them about your careegrowth. They would be happy to guide you.
  1. Friends
Be in a group where you feel happy. Don’t make toxic friends just for the sake of making it. Friends who taunt you, tease you are simply not your friends so don’t have friends just for being in a group
  1. Addictions
A lot of people say that if I don’t drink or smoke I won’t make any friends. Nahi chaiye aise dost jo sirf dosti kare agar tum drink or smoke kar rahe ho to.
  1. Internships
Do as many internships as possible. Talk with your professors,placement coordinator about internships from second year itself. Get some experience letters from companies.
Won’t talk about placement because I haven’t applied for the same. This is strictly my opinion and this is how I have done my engineering. If you have any more doubts ask away in the comments. Don’t DM let even others benefit from your questions

hello, I plan on filing BK Chapt 7 because I can't keep up with my credit card payments.
I have a gambling problem, I have banned myself from online gaming as well as paid for a year for Gamban. I am in an online G.A. because there isn't any G.A. in my area.
Bare with me while I try to explain the best I can.
I have 4 credit cards ( Discover, US BANK and 2 Chase cards) I maxed out the 2 Chase cards and the Discover card and then did a balance transfer to my US bank card because of zero interest for the 3 cards in March. I then maxed out the cards again because I am stupid!.
I paid off 1 CHASE card for $660 last month. I cut up that card. Actually all the cards are cut up except for the Discover because I am using that for groceries, gas etc. When I get my new debit card from my new bank I will cut the D card up. I switched banks from Chase to a new bank last week because the Chase bank is in a different city and my new bank is in my town.
My other 2 cards...:
The other chase has gambling debt on it which equals to about $2,500 with the last being in March. Usage in April is gas, food etc. That card is cut up.
Discover card has about $3000 from gambling in which the last one was the beginning of this month. the rest of the charges are gas, food etc. it is not cut up yet.
My US Bank card had a limit of $12,000. The 3 balance transfers equaled $7,500 all together. I then called the credit card company and had them bring the limit down to $9,500 because I knew I would max it out. And then called again and had them bring the limit down to $8,500...leaving me with $1,000 in which I maxed the card out on gambling, again...I am stupid. The last purchase was in April. Prior to this I always paid the whole balance off. That card is cut up.
I have been making the minimum payments because I have used up all my savings to try to play catch up...but then ran the cards up. I have no savings left. I only bring home about $1,400 a month. It's hard to pay rent, get groceries, gas since everything is going up in price.
I have tried in the past few months to make payments. Even try to pay $5 a month more if I can.
The gambling payments are $100 payments each time. And it's not over a span of weeks but days! Some are $1,500 in one day. I am so ashamed of myself.
My question is since I did the balance transfers to my US Bank card and then ran the card up....is that credit card fraud???? It has been 1 month since it's last been used for gambling. That is what is stressing me out and making my anxiety through the roof.
When would be a good time to talk to a lawyer?
I would quit making payments but I am sooo scared of credit card fraud because it was NOT my intention for run these up. I hate this addiction. But I am so tired of the anxiety, the stress and not sleeping.
Any help will be appreciated!

My brother-in-law called today asking for a $2500 loan to pay his property taxes and said that if he doesn't come up with the money, his house will be seized and put up for a sheriff's sale. He said he owed ~$10k but already came up with $8k of it and only needs the last $2500. He says he got into debt because his work hours were cut back during Covid and they never increased again. He says he will try to pick up a second job to earn the money to pay me back.
A quick google search tells me that he hasn't paid his property taxes for three years. The back taxes only amount to $2500, so I'm not sure what the $10k was about. I easily found social programs that arrange payment plans to avoid the sheriff's sale, offer tax relief for disabled and older people, and offer rebates for covid-related hardships. Maybe he could find a roommate and collect some rent.
I am a widow. My husband died over 25 years ago. This is his brother. I haven't heard from him in 15 years. This guy never held a job when I knew him. He suffered from anxiety, OCD, a digestive ailment. There was physical abuse in that family and my husband most def had some scary PTSD from it, so maybe the BIL has that, too. According to my husband, these ailments prevented the BIL from working. He lived with his parents. The mother passed last, when he was about 45 years old, and she left everything she had to him, hoping he could live off it. This included her paid-off house. I know from one of the cousins that he did, in fact, get a job after his mother passed and he's been there ever since, but it doesn't pay much.
The fact is, I am comfortable enough to donate the $2500 (because you can't count on these sorts of loans being repaid) -- but it will hurt. I have no income right now. I was laid off after 35 years with my company. I managed to pick up some lower-paying temp work for few years afterwards, but that dried up a year ago and I have not been able to find anything since. So I am retired earlier than I wanted to be and living off my savings. And I need to conserve my money in case I ever need long term care or even just some extra help around the house as I age. I will have to pay for the things that other people's spouses and children do for them.
I don't want to see the guy become homeless over $2500, but I also don't want to become his personal bank.
AITA for refusing the loan and just pointing him to the social programs?

Truth is I lied about my tech stack to the company, and I have cleared all the rounds. I was in Salesforce in WITCH , and wanted to move to full-stack in future. So I lied about my 2 years of experience to them, which I have in SF , not full-stack. If they talked to my manager, I'd be fkked. I have couple other interviews lined up. Is this a standard procedure?
Wasn't bg verification just checking the designation and dates with the previous company?

Most of yall r their biggest damn haters like they get a big opportunity and announce it. I didn’t see one post about how cool the trailer is or how excited anyone was, all I saw were posts of people mad abt 1 of the people that are a part of the company that gave them the big opportunity. They put out their first episode in a new set. I didn’t see one post saying one good thing abt it. Yall complained about the lighting, the decor, the distance, the tvs, the wires, the sound. Literally not one thing was not hated on.
I didn’t see anyone say shit abt how they wore the exact same outfits they had on in their very first episode either. Like that’s literally so fucking cool.
I literally loved their promo video. It was cool and funny. And Drew and Ky fighting the entire time was everything lmao
I also love their new set. The giant version of the shelf is sick asf. The vintage tvs in the background are cool. The wires are messy on purpose and it looks dope. The lighting does not make them look orange. It literally is just warm. It gives it a cozy, vintage look. The set looks as if it’s exactly what they might’ve envisioned. Like looking inside their head or something. Not only that but the camera quality is so good, I love that the pics and vids they talk abt are now actually cut onto the screen, and the sound quality is PERF.
And if you’re not a fan of the way the set looks, why are some of yall so bound and determined to say everything you hate so damn much. Like yall are entitled to your opinions, but if some of yall r such big fans, why be so nit picky?
Put yourself in this situation: Imagine they’re having some kinda live show or meet and greet, so u decided to make a poster of something for them and you worked really hard to afford all of the supplies and the ticket, and you woke up extra early to get close enough to the stage so they could see it, you tried really hard to make it match their vibe and it turns out exactly how you envisioned and it looks just like you wanted it to. Then you take it to them, and they literally shit all over it saying they hate the color, they think the letters are too big, the background is distracting, the decorations on it are too busy, the pictures are too small Then they start hating on the place you worked to get all of the supplies and buy the ticket because one of the managers is friends with a bad person.

Hey, I'm a 21 year old that for some reason got really lucky in the gaming industry. I run a company that controls a big portfolio of games, and having to be the person that people rely on to run 4-5 games at a time often leaves me burnt out & tired towards the night.
I work 10 hour days, 7 days a week (starting to take days off on Sundays but I just hibernate the entire day), don't leave the house unless it's something very important, and am constantly setting up things like roadmaps, ensuring my producers and managers are on the right track, assessing technical debt weekly for sprints, helping out programmers with questions (I was a programmer before I had this opportunity), listening to complaints, dealing with my finance team, HR, all that boring stuff.
It's pretty clear why I have to stay glued behind a computer screen and can't take my eyes off of it for longer than 30 minutes without being swamped with questions to answer. And, as you may have expected, it's pretty clear that if someone were to engage in a relationship with me, they'd probably head to sleep waiting on me to come out of work. Which is exactly what's happening.
I've tried explaining to my girlfriend countless times that I'm doing everything I can to give her my attention, listen to her daily rants, and play some games with her whenever things calm down more at my studio. However, she's been growing more & more needy as time goes on and recently began lashing out her anger on me. Obviously, arguing and almost yelling won't resolve things, so I try to calm her down by watching a movie with her later during the night, or spending some time with her after work.
Unsurprisingly, forcing myself to stay awake during late night hours is starting to take a toll on me. A few days ago, she's uttered words that I can't keep my mind off of: "All you do is sit on your chair all day with the AC on and tell people what to do. You just don't care enough to give me attention, might as well break up with me." -- obviously not 1:1 of what she said, but it was something along the lines of that.
Tried sitting down with her. Tried talking it out. Tried showing her exactly what I do, the scale of my operations; everything. This wasn't a problem initially in our relationship since I had just began starting out and getting some recognition in the industry, way before expanding, and never did I ever think the sheer scale of this studio would get this big.
I tried listening to my mother's advice, went to a psychologist, went to therapy. They all told me to take a step back and take time off, but if I take a step back, nobody's there to look over things for me.
tl;dr i work too much but dont really have an option not to and my girlfriend thinks working at home 10 hours a day 7 days a week is easy just because its at home

2024.05.20 06:54 NorthIntrepid2313 Received my consolidation application from Aidvantage and the estimated monthly payments are considerably lower than studentaid.gov. Which one is correct?

Had FFELP grad school loans that entered repayment in 2005. Owe about $80K (still)
Decided to consolidate on 4-28-24 to be eligible for forgiveness in 6 years (25 years of payment)
Due to income, my estimated monthly payment on studentaid.gov was around $1000 per month. However, the consolidation application letter I got from Aidvantage says that my payment for standard is around $328 per month. So, I'm confused to what my payment will be. Anybody else have a similar situation?
Also, I don't see anything about forgiveness etc. It would be great to be able to confirm that I am on track for forgiveness and to confirm that my times of forbearance etc count towards the forgiveness 'clock.' I inquired with both Navient and Dept of ed before submitting the consolidation application and neither entity could confirm either of these things.
Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you

My girlfriend/partner is a Ukranian citizen on H1B. Because her work requires overseas travel, she went to the US embassy in Korea to try and get a re-entry stamp. However, during the reentry stamp interview she got stuck in administrative processing, and it's been 2 months now. Furthermore, the US embassy took away her passport for administrative processing. Last time she got administrative processing, it took her over 5 months to get her passport back and her visa stamped.
To make matters complicated
* Her visa to stay in Korea is only 3 months long, after which she is supposed to leave Korea. However since she doesn't have her passport this is not possible. Also because of the status of Ukraine, she would'nt Requesting her passport back from the US would cancel her reentry stamp process and would basically fuck her over.
* To make matters more complicated her company just emerged out of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy and it's up in the air what's going to happen to the company.
I really love her and I'm 100% certain she's the one. I am a US citizen and I am considering trying to get her here on the K1 visa. However, I was wondering if this would cause further issues for her H1B status, and also if it's even possible to kick off the K1 visa process if her passport is in custody of the US government for administrative processing. In an ideal scenario despite re-entering the US via K1 visa she'd be able to continue working since she is very close to moving up to the next level of her career, and a pause would really slow down the progress she's made so far.

I have a bachelors degree in biochemistry from 3 years ago. I want to go to graduate school but none of my professors even knew me. I was invisible. I was and am still fat and ugly so that may have something to do with it. I’m also not bright, I earned a whopping 2.85 gpa for my B.S. I have no where to turn to get a letter of recommendation. None of my past employers liked me and I have no friends. I thought about going back for a second undergrad degree but I have 11,000 in credit card debt and I can’t take out any loans. That means I’d have to work full time to keep up with my expenses. I also hate both of my jobs and all of my coworkers. I have no family to help me, and no family even near me. My sister is literally 16 hours away and my custodial parents are even farther. I can’t ask any of them for help. I have no boyfriend or husband. I’m literally just by myself working two shitty jobs trying to crack away at debt. I feel like I’m going insane. I want to do something more important. I want to work at a place where I like most of my coworkers. I want to be paid more than 17 dollars an hour. Did I also mention both these jobs are night jobs?!? I’m exhausted. There are people with only a high school education who are getting paid at least 19. I don’t know what to do. I want to quit both jobs so badly they are ruining my mental health but no one likes me and no one wants to hire me. I don’t even know what I’m doing wrong. I try to be nice to everybody. I need advice or help on how to get out of this situation. This month, I have missed 2 of my EMIs (On Mobikwik App) and am getting harassed by their collections team on daily basis (They have even threatened to leak my images on Whatsapp). I know I have taken a lot of bad decisions, but have now realized the depth of the matter and would really appreciate any advice people can give me. I do not want this to spiral to a state where my family/friends get contacted because of my mistakes.

I currently get 74000 in hand, and my PL EMIs alone are around 90,000. Uptil now, I have been borrowing money from friends and using some savings to repay, but this month, as I mentioned, I have missed the mobikwik EMIs. I have run out of savings too.
I have tried approaching banks/NBFCs for debt consolidation, but they all rejected stating I am overleveraged. My cibil is currently 721.
I appreciate any advice you can give me, I know I have done a lot of mistakes, but I want to change my ways and get out of this debt trap. I have reduced all my expenses, as much as I can. Thank you so much for reading.

I have been applying and applying and applying to jobs, many interviews, but no luck.
I am looking for an IT job here in Erie (or the surrounding areas). I have 4 years of experience in the industry, professional references, letters of recommendation, and am highly experienced in mainstream solutions (Windows, 365, Azure, Entra, etc) and also have a programming background. I have experience in device monitoring, quoting, scripting, and patching, as well as experience installing various pieces of network hardware and devices (switches, firewalls, access points, servers, workstations, etc). I also run a small, multi-level IT business on the side.
The list of companies I've applied for already is extensive, but I am hoping maybe I can discover some new opportunities with this post. I have wide open availability, but ideally looking for 9-5, 8-5. Willing to work on-site and have immediate availability. I am also willing to travel anywhere from Sherman to Meadville if need be. I have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

2024.05.20 06:27 bornsliqqy Ordered 2 diff special plates same time

I ordered a special plate last September and after applying and paying I changed my mind and applied for a different special plate for the same car. I thought it would cancel the first but I was told I’d just get both. I got a letter from the dmv today Reg 18 stating that “there is an incomplete transaction on the vehicle record that must be completed before the license plates may be assigned”. This was in regards to my 2nd plate application. I’m assuming it’s because I have to wait to get the first plate to allow the 2nd to replace it.
My question is what am I supposed to do? Should I wait for the first plate and then fill out the Reg 17 stating what the most current plate it is replacing? Anyone know what to do? I’m worried I’m going to lose my reservation on my second plate and have to wait another 10 months. Thank you.
