2024.05.31 17:38 NextEpisodeOTT Eric: Season 1 Review Netflix Series

This Netflix limited series is created by BAFTA and Emmy Award winner Abi Morgan, who is known for her work on other successful shows such as "The Hour, The Iron Lady, and "The Split." The series Eric follows After his son goes missing, Vincent is heartbroken, but his friendship with Eric, the monster that lives under Edgar's bed, helps him feel better. As Vincent faces the challenges of single parenthood and copes with his grief, he discovers that Eric may hold the key to finding his missing son.
The strongest points of the series are its fine casting and performances. In the lead, we have Benedict Cumberbatch as Vincent, Gaby Hoffmann as Cassie and Dan Fogler as Lennie. Especially the dramatic sequences between Vincent, a professional puppeteer in the 90's, a less caring father and husband, and Cassie, a caring and loving mother, were very well performed and executed. Along with beautiful cinematography, amazing lighting and sets, all these created a certain mood and helped with the already finely written dramatic scenes.
What could have been better? The screenplay and story are an age old template where characters are filled with their personal lives to create different subplots, which are boring and hardly engaging in this series, especially the character Eric, who was supposed to be an important character in the journey but unfortunately lacks depth. The other supporting characters development was not fully explored. I think the writers wanted to create a great drama with flawed characters that mirrored society then and now, but the writing fell short as the story and its development felt dimly written, as did the almost nonexistent background music.
Can you binge-watch this series?
From the trailer, it may give the vibe that it's a crime drama thriller, but it seems to lack the intensity and suspense needed to keep me engaged throughout the series, and moreover, I feel six episodes could be cut short to four episodes, which would've created an impactful series. So, if you like a good performance and if you have nothing on your play list this weekend, you can give this series a try, or you can log on to nextepisode.in for more reviews for a perfect weekend binge.
For a better understanding of how each episode turned out, I have made a line chart and rated the series episode-wise. Here it is.

2024.05.31 03:37 Rioshinki Layer 3 Boss Concept

HOLY THIS ONE TOOK FOREVER TO MAKE BUT ENJOY!
In theory, this would probably be way too much to code in the game but again, it's just an idea!
Where: This boss would be a layer 3 boss or something else. It would have powers equivalent to a drowned god like Ethiron. In layer 3, you walk into a cave because it's your only path. However, it's so corrupted that it's slowly turning you into a monster.
Intro: You start losing sense of yourself. Are you really who you think you are?
As you're walking down the cave, your character starts shivering, then twitching. Your skin turns blue, a mushroom pops out of your head, you slowly become a mudskipper. Your screen turns black after this.
“For someone who slayed Ethiron, you're weak minded. Wake up, don’t let this drowned god take your mind. I know you're stronger than that.” a mysterious voice says.
Your screen returns. You're still a Mudskipper, but you keep walking. Your level one. If you look at your stats, you’ll see the stats you were when you were power 1. After you walk for a bit, you find your weapon and you pick it up.
You pick up this weapon someone left here. “Who were you again?” You wonder. Grglglgrgl…
You're still a Mudskipper, but you start moving normally now after picking up your sword. After walking for a bit, you see more mudskippers. They aggro onto you, but they are just normal mudskippers. After defeating them, you start thinking to yourself again. You also realize your back to your normal appearance, but your armor is gone.
You remember who you are. You are “(your name here)”. You walked into a cave and heard a voice. Who was that? You feel weaker, like you have the same strength when you decided to set off on your journey…
You are reverted back to the stats you had when you were Power 1 and you have no talents. You keep walking forward. Depending on your origin point, this introduction changes. Down below are the possible intros. (You can read what your origin would be, all of them, or just some, they all have the same end.)
Etris or Vigils Origin (or tutorial) - The smoke clears and you find yourself back at the ship you embarked on. You see Captain Orlando. When you get close enough to him, he will say, “Remember how to wield that weapon in your hand?” Immediately, he pulls out his sword and you initiate combat. He will have 500 health, and will fight like a humanoid NPC with no mantras. After dealing 500+ damage, he will sheathe his blade and say, “Good job buddy. Now, we know that you can fight this thing off. Wake up.” You go to power 5 and get your stats and cards when you were previously this power. Everything fades back to black and you can continue walking.
That’s right, you embarked with Captain Orlando, and then got attacked then ended up on shore someplace different. That’s how your journey started.
Lone Warrior Origin - The smoke clears and you find yourself in the Trial of One. After interacting with the white light in the middle, it will say, “You are the one we have been looking for, are you not? If you truly are, this drowned god shouldn’t be your downfall…” After this, the trial of one sharko spawns in and you fight it. After killing it, you hear the voice again. “That’s right Lone Warrior. You are the one we have been looking for. Wake warrior, and stand up.” You go to power 5 and get your stats and cards when you were previously this power. Everything fades back to black and you can continue walking.
That’s right, you woke up in that place and fought in that trial. After that, you found yourself in that snowy, cold place, and embarked from there. That’s how your journey started…”
Voidwalker Origin - The smoke clears and you find yourself in a field. You pull out your weapon and see a random person. They are weak and fragile, so it's an easy battle. You initiate combat here. After executing them, you hear a voice. “This is when I found you and we signed a contract. Do you remember when you had nothing and you became one of our strongest? Wake up. We need your efforts once more after you finish your encounter with this drowned god.” You go to power 5 and get your stats and cards when you were previously this power. Everything fades back to black and you can continue walking.
That’s right, you had nothing. You resorted to a life of bounty hunting. You signed a contract, and you became more and more powerful. That’s how your journey started…”
Deepbound Origin - The smoke clears, and you're in Layer 1 and see Akira. After getting close enough, he starts talking to you. “You signed a contract and delved into the depths. Did you already forget your journey to the top of the Divers?” After this, a weaker version of a Deep Owl spawns. After killing it, Akira speaks again. “A 98% annual casualty rate. You were one of the two that survived and grew to become one of our greatest Divers. Wake up. You’ve bested greater threats than this drowned god…” You go to power 5 and get your stats and cards when you were previously this power. Everything fades back to black and you can continue walking.
That’s right, you became a Diver and survived the horrors of the depths. You grew stronger and dove even deeper into the Depths. That’s how your journey started…
After your origin specific beginning, you keep walking. After the smoke clears, you see a monster about two times the size of an owl. This drowned god's name is Zelteth.
“You still have a sense of yourself? Impressive… Very impressive… hahahaHAHAHAHAHA!!!! YOUR LIFE WILL BE TAKEN BY MY HAND SPECIFICALLY! SEE THIS AS A HONOR!”
Zelteth reveals talent cards surrounding him. (They are yours if you didn’t figure it out.) They float upwards then blink out of existence. This is when the actual fight begins…
Fight Info: The arena is one large corridor, and it goes further back but there are barriers blocking you from going further or running away. Zelteth doesn’t take you seriously at first as you’ve been extremely weakened. You're still power 5 after all! Zelteth has 45K health. Zelteth’s attacks do “%” damage instead of a flat number to balance the fight. (Again, you start at power 5) His first move will always be “Past of Yourself.” He will typically use 2 or 3 of his own damaging moves before using “Past of Yourself” again. If you lose levels, you lose your talents and mantras.
1st Phase Moveset:
Past of Yourself - Zelteth will summon a ghost that looks exactly like you. They will be wearing one of your armor pieces randomly. The ghost will be very easy to handle as they fight. After killing the ghost, you get that piece of armor back and you gain one level. You go gain 1 power and get your stats and cards when you were previously this power. You also heal 10% of your health. Zelteth screams and drops down. You can get some hits here.
Orbs of The Forgotten - Zelteth swings his arms and 3 purple orbs come from each one (6 orbs). They hone onto you and you can block, parry, or dodge these orbs. Getting hit by these orbs will take 1 power level away from you and do about 3% of your health each (only can lose one power level). Blocking all of them does about 3 quarters of your posture bar.
Black Mist - Zelteth puts an arm up and black smoke comes from his hand. This fills the room until your surroundings are barely visible. Zelteth is charging up a powerful attack. You must listen carefully for the sound and run towards it. After you find him, you can M1 to cancel the charge up. After doing this, he screams, pushing you back (does no damage) and removing the smoke. If you fail to find him, this move will always hit you and you lose 2 power levels and take 15% health.
Drowned Vision - A sound cue will play then Zelteth teleports in front of you then grabs you. You MUST dodge this. If he grabs you, his eyes emit a purple light and he stares directly at you. You take 15% damage and lose a level.
Forgotten Warriors - Zeltech spawns 2 ghosts. They are fallen warriors who have either lost themselves in the cave, or died to himself. Zeltech waits before attacking again. These warriors have about 500 health each. They do 2% of your health every M1.
Souls of the Forgotten - Zeltech charges up an attack then sends a purple beam towards you (this is similar to Ethrion’s beam attack). You must parry this attack by spamming F. Blocking it will shortly lead to you being block broken, and dodging it will get you hit. The full beam attack will do about 20% of your health and you will lose 2 levels if you are hit by it for more than a couple ticks. (Forgiving for mistiming a millisecond and getting hit by a tick of it and losing like 0.1% of your health).
Second Phase Intro:
Upon reaching 35K health, Zeltech flees back into the corridor and summons more black mist from his hand. You have to chase him further down the corridor. Purple orbs will be honing in on you while you're running. They will be almost impossible to react to and they will deal 15% each, but you won’t lose levels. Once you fall to 0%, Zeltech disperses all the black mist and he grabs you.
“You will fall like the others…”
As Zeltech is about to use his eye beam attack, a huge flame blade hits his hand and he tosses you aside. The one who saved you was Pleetsky.
“For a diver who made it here, you're pathetic…” Pleetsky says.
An orange orb flies towards your downed body and you get up and are healed to full. You are brought to power 10 if you are below power 10 too.
“You aren’t getting that again. If you fall in this battle, you die, and I’m not saving you.” Pleetsky says. “With that, he shouldn’t be able to take your power away anymore. I’m going to destroy him from the inside, but I’ll need you to tire him from the outside. Good luck, deep delver…” Pleetsky then turns into a flame and vanishes into Zelteth.
Phase Two Moveset:
Protected by Pleetsky’s Blessing, you no longer lose levels. Zelteth’s moves will also do flat damage instead of percentage damage now. He will use “Story of Yourself” first and won’t use another move until your power 20.
Story of Yourself - Zelteth will summon 5 ghosts that look exactly like you. They will be wearing a couple of your armor pieces randomly. The ghosts are even weaker than the previous ghosts. Each ghost gives you a piece of armor back and two levels. After slaying all of them, you should have your full set of armor and be power 20.
The Fallen’s Willpower - Zelteth swings his arms and 5 orbs come out of each one (10 Orbs). Zelteth will dash towards you and swing twice (these have to be dodged), each one sending 5 orbs to you. You should dodge roll cancel and parry the orbs. After using this attack, an orange shockwave will come from Zelteth, stunning him. This allows you to get hits on him.
Forgotten Rain - Zelteth raises his hand and he summons black mist from his hand. After he does this, an orange shockwave comes from you. This disperses the smoke and you can see Zelteth charging his attack. Zelteth, surprised, stops charging and disperses the attack he has. The attack rains down on you. Red indicators will be shown and you have to stay out of it. After using this attack, an orange shockwave will come from Zelteth, stunning him. This allows you to get hits on him.
Forgotten Puppets - Zelteth summons 5 purple orbs that fly around you. They will have a quick charge and then blast a beam at you. If they charge up red, you must dodge. If they charge up blue, you can parry. After using this attack 6 times, an orange shockwave will come from Zelteth, stunning him. This allows you to get hits on him.
Rewrite - Zelteth blinks in front of you and grabs you (this cannot be dodged, blocked, or parried and WILL happen). They then stare at you with their purple light. This brings you to a random boss in the pool of: Chaser (no blood jars), Duke (will have a very weak shield), or Ferryman (second phase). After dealing 5K health to these bosses, you are brought back to reality and he gets stunned by an orange shockwave allowing you to get hits in. He can only use this move 3 times since if you defeat false versions of these bosses, Zelteth can’t summon them again. He will use this move at 20K health, 10K health, and 5K health.
Ending:
After dealing with the final blow, an orange wave knocks you back. Orange shockwaves keep coming from Zelteth until he explodes. After the explosion, you see Pleetsky.
You can loot your chest and then after your done you can interact with Pleetsky.
“Good job deep delver, let’s talk for a bit…” (Battle Ends)
TL:DR You fight another drowned god that can literally take power from you. Fighting him eventually gives you back your levels. In his second phase, Pleestky comes and helps you in the battle. You get power 20 easily by this point and can fight fairly.

2024.05.30 20:53 ConsiderationKind220 Holy, Roman, and an Empire (2024)

So, probably like many of you, I was struggling HARD to get this achievement, probably because no previous guide actually works anymore, as the game has has serious revamps—particularly in making the AI not suicidal now, which I just find hilarious how many depended on this exploit.
Finally, after countless reviews of forums, guides, and tutorials (Bittersteel was still helpful to an extent), I achieved it, and several other Achievements. It's consistent in Historical so far, and could be adjusted depending on what else you hope to achieve. Let me break down how you do it:
(1) Firstly, WIN ETHIOPIA! Yes, by doing this you delay the Pope being installed to leadership. That's fine: in exchange you will get tens of thousands of manpower in the form of Ethiopian troops given to and/or demanded by you. Combined with the Factories that you get from them building up their core territories and War Reparations, it's well worth the extra year or two to put the Pope in power. We need the time anyways, and this winds up being 20-40 free Divisions by the time we fight Germany. Usually meh Divisions, yes, but not your Manpower. Balkanize it all: a whole Ethiopia might cause problems in Africa. If you send all your Divisions and planes, you will win fast, just keep pushing constantly, don't let them dig in. Most argue you should lose this war to get the Pope faster, and while yes that does get the Pope faster, it is betting on RNGesus, as a neutral Ethiopia can seek your other African territories, of which we will have many, or join the Allies. We don't want to fight in Africa after this. (1.5) Accepting the Portugal events to buy ships helps with getting them to become a Puppet later. You should be producing Infantry constantly; we can train them later, and we won't need to equip them until we face Germany. And since Bandit's War Focus is really good—never had enough Armored Cars for all my Resistance needs, and Light Tanks become really fast and cheap—I stick with Light Tanks until I get Self-Propelled Artillery and Heavy Tanks to throw alongside my Infantry. Research Industry and Electrical, but make sure to grab Paratroopers immediately, and Anti-Tank guns soon. And put at least 2 Factories on Transport planes, for those Paratroopers—we need 50. And we want to prioritize Fighters, CAS, Tactical Bombers, and Strategic Bombers.
(2) Like Bittersteel and others recommend, justify on Yugoslavia by July—we want to fight France and absorb as much of Europe as we can in this opening move, but late March 1937 France drops their Guarantee. Also, get the Unaligned Advisor through Convene The Grand Council Focus ASAP to work towards becoming Unaligned. Don't forget to send your 4 Divisions with CAS support to Spain. We want Spain to like us so we can make them a Puppet too and then integrate them later, and there's lots of XP waiting in your in encirclements there. Also, immediately work to a Collaboration Government with France. Prioritize it, as it will be finishing just about when we need it. Produce Infantry Divisions constantly, and 4 Paratrooper Divisions (you need those ASAP).
Declare war when you can, and immediately justify on Austria. Do not become Unaligned before starting this Justification. Fascists can Justify in a month, but Monarchists need 50% World Tension which you shouldn't have hit yet. You should have those Paratrooper divisions: set one to Paris, then the other 3 to the nearby Victory Points. Before Mussolini is removed, get War Economy and Extensive Conscription: and if you can, don't get rid of the Council for the King until you've gotten some Advisors, as they have the cheapest discount for them. Ignore Africa, but don't lose anything in Europe except to Yugoslavia—pull out of and let them take all but the two north border tiles you share with them. You should have a full Infantry Army on France, 18 with Yugoslavia, and the last 6 in Sardina. Your Cavalry and any Tanks can train; we need them soon, but not yet. Once your Collaborative Government finishes, deploy the Paratroopers and take France out. As long as you keep your planes operating in the Alpines, France will also have their air force meet you there. And with a Collaboration Government, they capitulate after Paris and any 3 Victory Points are captured, and they won't be defending that deep into their home. Take all the Mediterranean territory we need for Mare Nostrum, but Puppet the rest and take the French Navy. Make sure to demand War Reparations and resource Rights. Additionally, Balkanize Africa for the same reasons we did Ethiopia. Now we are about as strong as Germany economically, and we're just getting started.
(3) Usually, this is where other guides say send the fleet to France and prepare to naval invade UK. No! You don't need to risk our ships—even with a Naval Invasion Escort, you very well can get tied up by and lose your ships in a fight with the Royal Navy, but most Convoy Ships will make it through to deliver Divisions to English ports you control. We're gonna send the troops freed up front our victory against France to Dunkirk/Northern France, along with the Cavalry and Light Tanks, and use them to reinforce a parachute invasion—one of the three southeast ports will be undefended, and UK is just not ready for 30+ Divisions to invade. You also should have 10-15 Divisions on the Austrian border, just to hold. Britain crumbles fast, and with it the other Europeon enemies fall because by now they joined the Allies since you spiked World Tension by fighting the Allies by early 1937. Again, annex all the territory connecting to the Mediterranean. But we need to conserve Manpower, so Puppet the rest. Do not Balkanize! We want Austria, Czechoslovakia, Romania, France, and Britain intact in Europe, as it makes Annexing them later much easier. We now have denied Germany core territory, and own the two entrances to the Mediterranean. Be sure to ignore Bessarabia and the other Romanian territories that the Soviet Union comes for—we don't want that fight yet, even if we now have the best Navy in the game once you take the British fleet. Just Liberate Moldova and Ukraine.
(4) Now for 2nd Rome, Turkey. With the border from French and British Middle East you own, the war is trivial: garrison your islands with 24 Divisions, and push from the south with the same group that took Britain. Greece will likely declare on Albania during this time, and with your other 2 Armies freed from Austria and Yugoslavia, you can easily beat them too. With these wars done, we only have Spain left between us and Mare Nostrum. You should be building a mix of Dockyards, Civilian and Military Factories by now, plus Infrastructure to squeeze more Factories.
Next step? Get rid of Hungary and Bulgaria. They will only be problems, and are easy to crush: at worst, the Allies again fights you, but you have the French, British, and Italian navies plus all the Infantry/Cavalry/Armored Divisions you have ideally been training constantly. If Germany isn't at war with the Soviet Union, give them the Sudentland claims. Until we form Rome, we can't take them in a war of attrition, and fighting them before they start the Eastern Front can make them not start the Eastern Front.
(5) If you only took Yugoslavia coastal territory, you'll find yourself short of all the land you need—some doesn't actually touch the Mediterranean. Make them Annexable by building for them. If you've been taking War Reparations with every enemy you beat, and built nothing but Civilian Factories so far, you should have close to 200 Civilian Factories. It may be controversial, but I like to use at least some of those to buy equipment. Standard templates won't serve forever, and Armored Cars with MP are the best Occupation Division. We need as much Support Equipment, Artillery, Anti-Tank, and Anti-Air as we can get to upgrade our Divisions into 12 Infantry / 4 Artillery / 1 AA / 1 ATs, with Armored Car Recon (double Recon Bonus from others), Hospital, Logistics, Engineers, and Signal. Cavalry looks identical, but are mainly viable if you do Bandit's War, as they get significant buffs.
Unfortunately, I've had getting Spain not go well, but I've got it done thrice in a row with this: If you do Foreign Affairs and demand the Islands from Spain, while Improving Relations and having Spies use Diplomatic Pressure, you should get them to accept. This removes a Diplomatic Penalty you had from claiming their territory. With that, they should also accept Iberian Protection with Improved Relations and Diplomatic Pressure from spies, giving you control of the last needed lands. As long as you let Spain hit 100 before 'Iberian Protection' finishes, you should be fine—you don't need Portugal, and can conquer them later for Hispania. Now, just Annex Spain and Yugoslavia at the same time (needs 600 PP and lots of factories built in their lands) and you've got Rome! We are now a superpower with a swarm of Puppets we will largely Annex to become a hyperpower.
(6) From here, just keep taking Liturgical Reforms until His Holiness support hits 60, and you got the Pope! You do not have to be the Pope when making Rome for the Achievement, only to eventually have both Rome and the Pope as Leader. It took me until 1940, but i was not able to finish all the Pope Focuses before Germany attacked. I recommend invading Portugal if they are not a Puppet: kick them from your Faction if needed, and conquer them. We can then for 100 PP turn the Iberian Peninsula into Core territory, which will give us millions of manpower and dozens more Factories. At this point the game becomes easier, since not even the Soviet Union can take us in a fair fight.
After this, prepare for Germany. Use this huge economy to fill the equipment gaps—Germany is the first prepared and determined foe you'll have to beat. Also, work towards Annexing France—that's another huge boost. You should work to Annex all of Europe and North Africa, but at 300 PP each plus the 50-100 PP to Core, your PP is your growth limit at this point. With Hungary and Bulgaria gone, they're going to declare on Czechoslovakia to make their border in Barbarossa bigger, ignoring the fact that at this point you're much stronger than them. I've found that the northern Czech border is the least-defended as the Germans seem to really rely on the forts, but I replace Recon with Super-Heavy Tanks for anti-Fort capabilities (and Signal for Super-Heavy SP Artillery, as this gives huge Soft Attack and Armor to your main forces). This allows you to create an entire encirclement out of the Eastern Front if the war starts early enough into Barbarossa. You can declare on Germany instead, to ensure you can pull it off. Don't be afraid of an attritional war with Germany here: you have far more Manpower and Factories, and you will get more over time. This is why I always recommend Strategic Bombers, as they widen this gap. Annex as much as you can, but sacrifice Eastern for Western Germany, as having it gives you another Rome decision and 40 million more core population on top of dozens of Factories.
(7) From here, with France and West Germany Annexed, you now should have about 10 million manpower and 1k Factories. You got 'Holy, Roman, and an Empire' and 'Nothing Personal, Adolf'. Two other Achievements to go for are both wrapped up in the final real challenge: beating the Soviet Union grants you 'Stalin, how many guns does he have?' and 'Collect all the Romes': just Annex Moscow. I personally had several weird partitions: never could get Denmark, West Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands from the Soviet Union, but with the Pope War Goals, I was able to get a front through Finland. And since we definitely can do it by now, go for Pizza Time—Annex Chicago, Hawaii, and New York from the U.S. Japan should still be kicking around, and they likely have gone to war with you over Southeast Asia, but a single Cavalry Army can crush Siam alongside your India Puppet, and then run rampant through Southern China. The real benefit of this war is that the Soviet Union will get dragged into it—once they do, and deplete your borders of Divisions, it is time to strike them. They will crumble easily from a few encirclements—make sure you just make a front with Japan, as you want the U.S. distracted by them still so you can invade their East Coast and crush them.
Let me know if you run into issues, and have fun bringing the strongest hyperstate into being (UK Imperial Confederation nor France Portugese-Brazil-Spain-Franco Kingdom going European Union can reach the same Factory or Manpower from Cores, and the Pope has some extremely strong buffs I'm not sure are matched elsewhere).

2024.05.29 22:17 squeezy44 The BS boss fights in these games

Making a game difficult is one thing but being unfair and forcing players to find a gimmick to win is a garbage way of doing it. I am level 213 with ng+ I have all +1 armor and I am getting 2 shot by bosses. I have not been able to beat the nameless puppet because its overpowered and not on a level a common player can defeat. I am so sick of listening to these souls borne people "look at me no hit lol" or' "everything is so easy"- well good for you. some of us work for a living and playing a game shouldn't make you want to give up. I am clipping 2 videos to show exactly how stupid these boss fights are. you cant just stand there and fight fairly now I will have to use a summon get the boss to focus on him so I can use throwables yeah i win but it is an empty feeling. No I will not spend hours "learning move sets" to follow a patterned fight that is just as stupid and unfulfilling. that's what the souls borne "pros" do and they think it makes them kewl or some shit that they "learned" the pattern of a boss that is not skill memorizing a move set. should be able to actually fight in a fair and even fight. I had to spend a great deal of time finding a copy of this game for ps4 and some cost for it to be this dark souls- Elden ring horse crap of bosses being stupidly overpowered move sets that are stupid putting status on you and there being the possibility of being one shot. It doesn't matter how many farming hours are put in getting leveled up having armor and weapons at max I still get bent over by just stupid crap that these bosses pull and everyone just acts like it should be acceptable. In fact will argue that this isn't hard enough mostly shills that hope these developers will give them some good boy attention wtf. just like everything is accepted now don't stand up to anything accept all behaviors.

Well that's my 2 cents who cares right? Its just a game.
I am 48 years old and have been a gamer since I was a kid I walked away for 15 years so I could raise 2 children now that I am a grandfather I picked up gaming again. I enjoy a challenge and enjoy games like these. It is a fantastic game just like all the From Soft games that have came out. I just really find that games in this genre that have unrealistic bosses to defeat do not add to a positive experience with the game. I have beaten Elden Ring 100% Bloodborne 100% Dark Souls 3 and both DLC's Sekiro I cannot beat Owl Father and it irritates me that I cannot beat the Nameless Puppet. I beat Sekiro on principle not because I liked the game.

the location was a hit on texas, good pizza, good shows, what could go wrong? there was two boys, simon fitzgerald, a boy that was a negative and a lucky person, and there was also his twin brother, jeremy fitzgerald, a postive and unlucky person, the two brothers loved to visit fredbear's on texas, fredbear was jeremy's favorite, and springbonnie was simon's favorite
in 1979, simon put a challenge for jeremy, enter fredbear's family diner at night, and stole whatever from there while not getting caught, while exploring, he decided to take out jj from springbonnie hand, but when he tried to tamper with springbonnie................

he escaped from fredbear's, while the employees comes to the location and see jj broken on the floor, they decided to scrap the doll from springbonnie, months later they decided to close fredbear's because of the incident, and start a whole new location in 1983, freddy fazbear's pizza

And the most famous place, Golden Freddy's Family, a freddy's with golden freddy as one of the cast characters, a character captalizing on the nostalgia from the fredbear character in the 70s, obviously being freddy cousin (golden freddy isn't a springlock suit throguht)
https://preview.redd.it/enufqxyede3d1.jpg?width=171&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50b18c5770c0d52dcebfab397903f9901986e537
jeremy and simon, only visited golden freddy's family, because it was the cheapest of them all + the fredbear's nostalgia, jeremy was a big freddy's collector at the time, picking every type of merch
in this time, simon was researching how to make immortality, how to save older people from the after life, simon loved science, so he decided to he kill his own parents and collect the blood, but when he injected, there were no effects, so he discovered that to work as intended, it was supposed to be children
where do all of those children go?
freddy fazbear's pizza, three cases of one, one case of two
simon decided to take the job of day guard at freddy's, he find the children around it annoying, and he received his unniform, a *purple* one
https://preview.redd.it/7tqwxyc7fe3d1.jpg?width=120&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=34b192dc50bbf08311a4f6c7fb609411d42afc2b
with that, he entered the safe room and stoled the springbonnie costume, the suit was old, and it had tapes to explain how the springlock technology works
with that, the massacre occured, he decided to lure a child with the confidence of going into "rabbit wonderland", simon lured the boy into the safe room, killed him, and collect his blood, the body of the kid was pale, that was first of many killings that he would do later, then he taked the body and hide in his house within the basement, the boy spirit, would follow simon from the rest of his life, the boy turning into shadow bonnie
simon when collected the blood, he felt more happy, energetic, it somehow worked, he would do it more and more
in 26 june 1985, not one, but five children gone missing, in cody's tabern, simon has seen that the children loved the foxy character in the cove in one of the closed party rooms
he tampered with the foxy animatronic, which the foxy animatronic would kill the five children, simon collected those bodies and inject the blood on himself, obviously he would hide the bodies in the basement, right?
well, he decided to hide the 5 bodies from cody's tabern in freddy, bonnie, chica and foxy, the 5th one he had to hide in golden freddy in golden freddy's family
simon was obviously a suspect because he was caught luring one of the children in the safe room, but there was no proof, and so he escaped, there it born the legend of the "purple man" in texas, they had to close temporarily the 5 main locations until a new further notice
one year later, in 1986............
jeremy, which was a little tired of always visiting one fazbear location, decided to visit all of them, he liked the other locations, but golden freddy's family had it charm, when he put the coin to make the animatronic function............. it failed, he started to glitch and then he opened his mouth to jeremy, revealing the kid's body that simon stuffed in the suit, this would became the second jeremy trauma, the corpse inside golden freddy
the news spread about the corpse stuffed into the suit in texas,
in november 1986, he would go into golden freddy's family after the news loose popularity, and so in his auto, saw a little girl outside of freddy's, she was locked out from some bullies, while inside the restaurant there was a guy in a fabric freddy costume giving *cake to the children*
the girl was crying and desperate to enter the place, simon exited from his car, stabbed the girl in cold blood and collected her body, while hiding her body behind the place, her name was janet, the puppet animatronic, which was removed from fredbear's hands and now put in a box, decided to try to find the girl with the green bracellet, which the animatronic found her, dead in the floor, while it was raining, her soul haunted the animatronic, possesing it in the process
later with the news of her dissapearence, simon was pratically to much lucky for a simple man
the animatronic, while the girl can't get out from her prision, decided to guide the 5 souls from cody's tabern into the animatronics from golden freddy's family
fazbear was from her sucess until her ultimate downfall, 7 children dissapeared in 2 years and the killer was not caught, the "purple man" was on the highiest list of criminals on the country
fazbear entertainment decided to just left golden freddy's family opened, but with a new thing, the new slogan, safety first, now freddy's would be the safest place on earth, with more guards and restrictions, removing doors from private parties and offices
the real novity was the upgrade in the main fazbear band, with brand new endo 02, with facial recognition, with criminal database, with the simon face as the bases for the hunt, but there was a big problem, the old suits were not made to fit the new endos, which they decided to abandon the upgrade for the old suits, while their appearences where terrible, bonnie loose his face, chica broke her jaw and etc
then they decided to make cute and cleanier versions of them basead on their toys, the rest is story

2024.05.27 19:51 EvilDave219 Summary of the 5/26/2024 Vicious Syndicate Podcast (First one after the 29.4.2 patch)

Read the most recent VS Report here - https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/vs-data-reaper-report-294/
As always, glad to do these summaries, but a summary won't be able to cover everything and can miss nuances, so I highly recommend listening to their podcast as well. The next VS report for Whizbang's Workshop will be out Wednesday May 30th with the next podcast likely next weekend.
General - We are in a very "unique" meta after the nerfs to the fast aggro decks. Looking at the class playrate pie chart, most classes are very close to each other in playrate. At Legend, the class with the highest playrate is Rouge at 14%. The 8th most popular class (Druid) is at 8%. There are 8 classes at Legend with similar playrates (Hunter, Shaman, and Demon Hunter being the classes below this threshold). ZachO says it has been a long time since he's seen a meta where a class doesn't have a 20%+ playrate (although ZachO estimates that at Top Legend Rogue has eclipsed 20%). However, this is a "low information" format, so things can change quickly once people know the best decks to play. Diversity is good!
Rogue - Most Rogue decks are Excavate Rogue, and that archetype is strong at high MMRs (Tier 2ish). Excavate Rogue continues to be a deck that has an even matchup spread and doesn't dominate anything with a chance of winning nearly any game. The Reno Warrior matchup is still bad, but it has gotten softer after the Brann nerf (40/60 now). High MMR players tend to like decks that don't have hard counters, which is why it's popular at those ranks. ZachO says it is one of the two most skill intensive decks in this format, although ZachO reiterates this continues to be one of the lowest skill testing formats we've had. A new tech has popped up in Excavate Rogue with Yogg being included in the deck instead of Flint. Reason being because of Virus Perfect Zilliax, which has become more common. Virus Perfect Zilliax comes down faster than Twin Perfect, and if you don't have a clean answer to it, it's very sticky and hard to clear. Excavate Rogue has run Ticking Perfect Zilliax in the past due to synergy with Pit Stop and Sonya. At Top Legend there's also a small presence of Gaslight Rogue and Sonya Rogue. Gaslight Rogue is a very underrated deck and potentially better than Excavate Rogue at high MMRs. New builds are running Dubious Purchase. ZachO theorizes that because Gaslight Rogue is such an all-in deck, players might be avoiding it. Sonya Rogue is difficult to navigate, and ZachO says he cannot measure Sonya Rogue's skill differential because no one plays the deck outside of Top Legend. Not great at Top Legend (between Tier 3 and 4) and still very fringe.
Warrior - The nerfs to Pain Warlock and Zarimi Priest really helped Reno Warrior. Deck is between Tier 1 and Tier 2, but the winrate might be declining due to the meta refining. The rise of Insanity Warlock and Reno Priest are proving to be difficult for Reno Warrior to overcome. Reno Warrior does enjoy Excavate Rogue and Spell Mage being popular and are propping up its winrate. Odyn Warrior with a Zilliax package looked promising prepatch, but it has not gained much traction after the balance patch. ZachO wonders if Yogg is the reason why the deck isn't being played since Zilliax being yanked by Yogg is backbreaking. Mech Warrior continues to be booty butt cheeks. Part Scrapper is strong in Odyn Warrior to cheat out Zilliax (and some Reno Warriors are running it too), but it's not worth it in a full mech package. You run too many mech parts that interfere with your survivability tools.
Priest - Zarimi's playrate has dropped to 1% even though it's still a Tier 1 deck. Zarimi Priest absolutely needed to be nerfed, because if it was left unchecked after its 2 hardest counters in Aggro Paladin and Pain Warlock were nerfed, it would have run away with the format. An aggressive Priest deck that just got nerfed isn't appealing to Priest players. After being trash since Badlands, this is the first time Reno Priest has looked competitive. Deck has a 10% playrate at Legend ranks, and according to ZachO it is one of the 2 decks alongside Excavate Rogue with a high skill expression compared to the rest of the format. There are tough deck building decisions where you have to adjust the deck based on what's in the format. You wanted cards like Lightbomb previously to deal with Painlock, but now it's unclear if you still need that much mass removal (although you still want a decent amount). Reno Priest's late game is good right now in a very weak format to the point Puppet Theater is a good card for the late game against other Reno decks. If you play a Boomboss against a Priest, they can copy it multiple times to fill the opponent’s deck with TNT. Some "evil" Priest players are playing Shadow Word: Steal in their decks to greed up for Reno mirrors. ZachO absolutely hates playing against Reno Priest and says he has conceded as a Reno Druid on turn 1 against Reno Priest even though it's a 50/50 matchup. It shows that this is a very toxic deck, but there is a significant portion of the playerbase this deck appeals to. Right now, Reno Priest looks like a Tier 2 deck at most rank brackets, but gets worse at Top Legend. Why? Because the hard counters to Reno Priest are more prevalent. Insanity Warlock beats the deck 70/30. ZachO bemoans the card design of Puppet Theater, because the card is either going to be unplayable or unbearable if it's good. It creates tension in a way that makes you not want to play cards, and there are no tech cards in Standard to deal with locations. It's so toxic that people run an additional copy inside ETC.
Mage - Spell Mage was a Tier 2 deck last week, and postpatch it is still managing a good winrate across ladder. The rise of Reno Priest has been helpful for the deck as it's one of the best counters to that deck. Deck doesn't play minions, so Dirty Rat and Puppet Theater are dead cards against it. While Priest has healing, it doesn't have enough healing to outlast Mage's damage. Reno Priest being a counter to Reno Warrior also helps Spell Mage since that's still a matchup they never want to see on ladder. Malfunction is a huge card against aggro decks, and Painlock no longer dropping Molten Giants on turn 4 helps a lot. Insanity Warlock and Handbuff Paladin aren't great matchups for the deck, but they aren't terrible either. According to ZachO, Spell Mage is a deck with a lot of 60/40 and 40/60 matchups. While it's good to see Spell Mage stick around, it's sad that their late game cards are ineffective. Squash questions if we'll ever see cards like Sunset Volley and Orb played if they're still unplayable in a 4 set meta. The burn payoff is far more reliable than Yogg in a Box, especially in combination with Manufacturing Error. When it comes to mulligan, Keyboard is the most important card to find, and Manufacturing Error is a keep. Rainbow Mage is still around, but most builds are bad, tanking its winrate. A build running Watercolor Artist with Buy One Get One Freeze looks more promising, possibly as good as Spell Mage. There's also Reno Mage seeing play(!), which is essentially Rainbow Mage running "weird" stuff like Sunset Volley, Projectionist Orb, and Elemental Inspiration. ZachO needs to see more data on the deck, but it looks potentially playable.
Warlock - Painlock and Insanity Warlock are the two main Warlock decks being run. Painlock is still strong, but clearly worse and weaker after the patch (Tier 2ish winrate). Insanity Warlock now outclasses Painlock and looks to be the best deck on ladder. Its winrate at Legend is over 55%, and even at Top Legend its winrate is close to the 55% mark. Why is Insanity Warlock so strong? It's a direct counter to Reno decks and beats Spell Mage. It's kind of an aggro burn deck with Gem Tosser and the fatigue package, and it can OTK with Fizzle, Popgar, and Crescendo. The deck forces Reno decks to pressure it, which they often cannot do. The only Reno deck that looks to handle the Insanity Warlock matchup well is Reno Paladin. It says a lot about how low powered the format is when the strongest finisher is packed into an aggro deck. While ZachO doesn't think nerfs will be coming anytime soon, he wouldn't be surprised to see Popgar get reverted to only discount Fel cards by 1 or Crescendo increased to 3. Both Squash and ZachO agree that while it's fine for an OTK deck to exist where it fights defensively to accumulate resources for most of the game, it's not fine for an OTK package to exist in a deck that already aggressively pressures you throughout the game. Squash is glad the deck exists so he has something to squash Priests (pun intended).
Paladin - Aggro Paladin is still a decent deck after the nerfs, but it's no longer super powerful and falls off pretty hard at higher ranks. Handbuff Paladin now outclasses Aggro Paladin and is the strongest counter to Insanity Warlock (65/35). The deck has sustain and your stats scale faster than Crescendo does. Handbuff Paladin's matchup spread is good enough to put the deck as the #2 deck in the game behind Insanity Warlock across all of ladder. The biggest enemy of Handbuff Paladin are Reno decks, but not to the point that Reno decks beat it consistently. Both the Excavate and Charger variants of Handbuff Paladin are strong, and ZachO cannot definitively say which one is clearly better as of now. ZachO personally prefers the charger variant since it seems like it does better against Reno decks and gives you more agency in those matchups with burst from hand. Reno Paladin is also quite competitive, but it's bad in the Reno mirrors. Still a Tier 2ish deck across ladder.
Death Knight - Death Knight always feels like it'll be popular at lower ranks, but it just gets outclassed by everything else at higher ranks. Rainbow DK has been taken over by Reno builds, but these variants looked worse than the standard builds last week. ZachO says the gap has gotten closer, but he still thinks standard builds are better. He'll likely have to refine a Reno build for the next VS Report. Rainbow DK might be a Tier 3 deck. Plague DK is not good. Handbuff DK is not seeing any play after the patch. ZachO jokes the deck would be viable if Leeroy was an Undead, because it's the difference maker for Handbuff Paladin against Reno Priest.
Druid - Reno Druid looks quite good. All the main aggressive decks got nerfed, which helps the deck. Aggro Paladin, Zarimi Priest, and Painlock demolish this deck. Reno Druid goes 50/50 with the other Reno decks, and ZachO recommends putting Saloon Brewmaster in your ETC to help with the Reno Warrior matchup so you can ensure Rheastraza's nest is on the board after Reno clears it. Some people are trying Owl Druid at Top Legend, and it might be a Tier 3 deck. There's source bias with the deck which makes it look better than it is. TicTac has been propagating the deck and it has a near 5% playrate at Top Legend. ZachO does theorize people at high MMRs are thirsty for any sort of high skill cap deck and OTK decks that beat Reno decks. Hybrid Druid has fallen off in play but might still be okay.
Hunter - Even though Hunter falls off in play at Legend ranks, it still has a playrate around 8% at Diamond ranks. Secret archetype is what is mainly seeing play in the class. Secret Hunter is a classic Hunter deck; strong on the climb to Legend and then starts falling off. It's around a Tier 1 deck at lower ranks and then around a Tier 2 deck at higher ranks. Deck likely doesn't translate well at higher levels of play, but ZachO thinks it's the 3rd best deck to climb ladder to Legend with behind Insanity Warlock and Handbuff Paladin. Only secret you want to run 2x copies of is Hidden Meaning. You want to diversify your secret pool for Product 9. Reno Hunter is probably the best Hunter deck if you know how to build it. The secret direction doesn't look promising compared to the older variants with Thunderbringer, but ZachO says it's possible it just needs more refinement. Possible you can't fit the big beast package in with the secret package. Reno Hunter also falls off less at higher levels of play due to having Reno.
Reno Shaman - Out of all the Reno decks that see play, Reno Shaman looks to be the worst one. If you want to contest late game matchups, you need to build the deck to be greedier. Fizzle needs to be either hard run in the deck or inside ETC. Every Reno deck runs Viper, so the Hollidae weapon isn't effective enough. Other Reno decks can grind you down. The deck's early game does surprisingly well and can be decently proactive. Nature Shaman sees fringe play.
Demon Hunter - Reno DH died once they made the Reno change. Shopper DH is still fine, but no one cares.
Other miscellaneous talking points -
  • During the Death Knight section when talking about refining Reno Rainbow DK, ZachO talks about how difficult it is for him to refine Reno decks. Not because the card choices matter, but the opposite of that; card choices matter much less when you're just looking to draw Reno and a few other power cards. The performance of the remaining cards in the deck are so slim that it's hard to pick out cards that definitively are better than others because they don't matter when Reno is your power spike.
  • Between Reno Warrior, Reno Priest, Reno Mage, Reno Paladin, Reno Druid, Reno Shaman, Reno Hunter, and Reno Rainbow DK, there are 8/11 classes running a Reno deck. Why is this happening? Because the late game sucks. Over the past few months, Team 5 has gutted all late game win conditions. If a win condition is good, players complain about it until Team 5 nukes it. Even though the beginning of Whizbang was seen as high power level, the early game was what was so powerful about those decks, not the late game. Zarimi Priest, Aggro Paladin, Pain Warlock, and Token Hunter felt like Wild level decks with how much they could snowball the board in stats early on. While the slower decks weren't near as powerful, Wheel of Death, Rainbow Mage, Rainbow DK and Odyn are all examples of things that were nerfed more severely than early game strategies. Now that early game strategies have been nerfed to the point that you have more time to defend yourself, you're starting to see slower decks pop up in the meta. However, Excavate Rogue is the only non Reno deck that can go late game and win. Apart from Reno Warrior with Brann, none of the current Reno decks rely on synergies to win games, they just play a pile of good cards with grinding payoffs. It's alarming when Death Knight and Mage are running Reno decks with no class payoff and indicative of a problem.
  • ZachO calls Reno, in his subjective opinion, one of the worst designed cards made in the past few years because of how much it prevents the opponent from playing the game. It's an asymmetrical poof board wipe that prevents the opponent from redeveloping the following turn. However, ZachO doesn't think Reno is OP at 9 mana right now. The problem is all the other late game win conditions were nerfed and there's nothing left you can nerf. It shows desperation when Owl Druid is hitting a 5% playrate at Top Legend. Players are trying to find anything else that wins in the late game. Some people really like this kind of format where decks throw "cotton candy" at each other and can't kill in the late game, but we've seen what happens when a Barrens Priest type of deck that doesn't let you leave the game is a prominent part of the format. This is a format that cannot be fixed with balance changes. However, if Team 5 introduces new win conditions in the next expansion, they're going to be the best thing you can do, which will lead to people complaining, those win conditions getting nerfed, and putting us in a never-ending cycle.
  • ZachO gets the sense that while a lot of players may find the meta fairly balanced with no deck that annoys them too much right now, they can't find any current deck they enjoy playing. It's true if you want to play any sort of late game deck that isn't Reno centric. If you don't want to play aggro or Reno, your only choice is to play Excavate Rogue. ZachO advocates we need more decks like Rainbow Mage and Odyn Warrior with compounding late game strategies that aren't just 28 cards with Reno and another highlander payoff.

2024.05.26 03:39 masterofpiss SMG4 Theory: The MK News Media Conspiracy Part 1/2

SMG4 Theory: The MK News Media Conspiracy Part 1/2
Now as you all know, I've been on break for the last few weeks, and originally, I had plans for this break to go on until early june. However, with the release of the episodes: Mario the Exploro, and SMG4 doesn't meme for one second, I have decided to end my break early because not only is mr.puzzles already back, but we have some major implications that he's just a mere puppet for some higher power.
Originally, I called this higher power "The Reviewers," because they were reviewing mr.puzzles's work (Image 3) and seemed to know more than they let on, and this led me down a literal paper trail until I found something that changes EVERYTHING that we thought we knew about mr.puzzles, the adware saga, and potentially even the show itself.
You see, the infamous scene at the start of the puzzlevision movie (Image 3) that I've been mildly obsessed with these last few weeks has a detail that I originally missed my first time viewing. This detail in particular is a piece of context around the dialogue itself, this being that it's presented like a news segment (Hell, the wiki straight up calls the voices "news reporters" (Image 4)). You see, THIS is the detail that would lead me to my inevitable conclusion about what the reviewers truly are.
Now, I know some of you are thinking that this scene is just a one time thing that we DEFINITELY haven't seen beforehand. However, what if I told you that not only have we seen the reviewers before, but that it's been right under our noses THE ENTIRE TIME? You see, in some of the community posts leading up to the puzzlevision movie, we would see mr.puzzles reading newspapers that would say how mr.puzzles's shows were failures despite them being rated 3.5, 3.8, and 4 stars (image 5), which is actually really good for a piece of media. Despite this however, they would still slam his works, almost as if they're trying to get him to snap and follow the script that the reviewers have in mind, but here’s the kicker here, the reviewers AREN'T ACTUALLY THE THE REVIEWERS. You see, the reviewers are actually called The Mushroom Kingdom News Media, and considering that we've seen their newspapers twice before they got fully voice acted lines (which according to no null, is a massive piece of evidence towards them being important in the near future because Niles, Clench, and some others are infamous for having fully voice acted lines), it's all but certain that not only is the Mushroom Kingdom News Media our enigmatic reviewers, but that they also might be behind mr.puzzles's origins.
Now with this in mind I decided to see if there was ANYTHING else I could dig up regarding the Mushroom Kingdom News Media, and surprisingly, there's genuinely quite a bit that originally went over our heads. You see, throughout the latter half of the saga as well as some episodes afterwards, we've seen multiple instances of newspapers and other news related imagery that further adds to the importance of this group. Now, the earliest of the instances that I've managed to uncover happens right at the end of wotfi 2023, during which, we see a newspaper covering the arrest of Mario and Marty (image 6), and what's at the top you ask? THAT'S RIGHT, IT'S MUSHROOM KINGDOM NEWS, SMG4 WAS SETTING THE MK NEWS MEDIA UP SINCE WOTFI 2023, IF NOT EARLIER, which is absolutely insane on smg4's part if you ask me. Now, the second of these instances is ACTUALLY AN ENTIRE SMG4 EPISODE, with the episode in particular being SMG4 news. You see, throughout the episode we see multiple different news cases as smg4 and smg3 slowly get fed up with each other, ending with smg3 spreading fake news, and smg4 potentially dooming smg3's bomb cafe. Now, I know you're probably asking why this episode would be important towards solving the MK News Media aside from being a news parody, and my answer lies within not only the news headlines but also the behavior that smg3 emits near the episode's end. You see, while the headlines of each news segment may seem unimportant, one of them actually hints at certain things going on behind the scenes regarding smg3 (image 7), that being how his cafe is currently on the rocks and could face shutdown. This line is of course, hints towards how the recent failures (at the time) of smg3's coffee and bombs would eventually lead to smg3 desperately trying to save his dying business however he can, until smg4 pushes him towards his limit near the end of the episode, causing the events of trash friends. Now, originally, I thought that this was mr.puzzles trying to target smg3. However, considering that we see the MK News Media push mr.puzzles into creating the puzzlevision movie (Image 3), it's highly likely that the MK News Media was the one responsible for the subtitles in SMG4 NEWS, as well as the decline of smg3's coffee and bombs, which does beg the question, "If the MK News Media was responsible for these two instances, then how many instances are they truly responsible for?", Now, I'll be answering this in the second part of this theory, but in the meantime, I want to cover smg3's behavior near the episode's end. You see, at the episode’s end, we see smg3 using his power in the newsroom to influence outside events via fake news (image 8). Examples of the damage he causes are shown when he makes the veggitalians and teletubbies fight each other after a peace agreement (top of image 8), causing the stock market to crash after claiming that Elon Musk bought the entire internet (bottom of image 8), and some other instances. Now, originally this scene seemed unimportant. However, with the release of puzzlevision and the heavy emphasis on news related media in recent memory, it's becoming more and more likely that this scene is an example of Chekhov's gun, (For those of you wondering what Chekhov's gun is: Chekhov's gun is a narrative principle where an element introduced into a story seems unimportant at first, but later takes on great significance. (Note: the extended definition of Chekhov's gun can be found in image 9)). You see, I believe that this scene might potentially be hinting towards the true behavior of the MK News Media, that being that they're influencing THE ENTIRETY of the smg4 universe from behind the scenes, so certain characters can do actions that The MK News Media wants them to, which is something that we see with both mr.puzzles and smg3, and as you'll see in part 2 of this theory, the MK News Media is responsible for way more of the events in the smg4 universe than you think.
Anyways, I should move onto the other news related instances that we see in smg4 during and after the adware saga, so let's continue. Now, the next instance of news related imagery doesn't happen until the 5-part adware saga finale. You see, on the puzzlevision.tv website, we would see a specific newspaper featuring the current puzzlevision episode (image 10), which would become a popular meme template after the smg4 fans realized that they could download it. This meme template would say on the headline, "The News", followed up by the subtitle saying "the most important news from around the world". Now, most of you are probably thinking that this debunks my earlier point regarding the community posts. HOWEVER, this instance states, "THE NEWS", not "MUSHROOM KINGDOM NEWS (MEDIA)", meaning that the newspaper shown here is NOT THE SAME as our current suspect, so we can remove this potential possibility.
Finally, our most current instance in this pattern of news related instances ACTUALLY HAPPENED IN THE RECENT SMG4 EPISODE WHERE SMG4 AND SMG3 MADE A MASCOT HORROR. You see, at multiple points in the episode, we see instances of newspapers saying, "Da Newz" (Image 11). Now, of course, this obviously isn't the same news company as the MK News Media, and is more than likely smg4's news company instead, due to the contents of the newspaper as well as smg4 holding it when discussing Spanky's Surprise Party (upper middle of image 11). HOWEVER, THERE IS ONE VERY SPECIFIC DETAIL THAT WE SEE AT THE EPISODE'S END. You see, this detail specifically states "Others may ask why is this here?" (Bottom of image 11) This detail right here is a potential smoking gun because, if this newspaper isn't important whatsoever, THEN WHY ON EARTH IS THIS LINE HERE?! It truly feels like smg4 knew EXACTLY what he was doing by putting this line in this episode, because it's potentially confirming the idea that the newspapers are a Chekhov's gun towards the MK News Media becoming a major group of characters in the TRUE finale of the Puzzlevision storyline, and with this in mind, I'd like to head into the next section of the theory, The MK News Media's role in the smg4's universe, so let's begin.
END OF PART ONE (Note: Part 2 will more than likely release on Monday because I'm going to be be pretty busy on Sunday, so stay tuned.)

2024.05.24 19:39 Spadez_7 Finally beat the game! My thoughts…

So, I posted last week about this being my first true soulslike. I was on Isabelle Rose St when I posted. I beat this game last night, although granted, I hadn’t played since Monday. Not to repeat my last post, but my “soulslike” experience was limited. I had played Bloodbourne when it first released and I instantly knew it wasn’t for me. I had no idea what a “soulslike” was when I bought it, and I was in for a rude awakening. I didn’t get far and shelved the game. Never turned it back on. It was Stellar Blade that gave me the confidence to tackle my first soulslike: Another Crabs Treasure. I loved it and it whet my appetite for another challenge. Enter Lies of P. I knew it was a soulslike, but I had no idea just how difficult it was. What drew me in was the aesthetic. That pseudo steampunk look. The idea of fighting puppets was also appealing, although, to be frank, “puppet” is a loose term. Automatons/robots is closer to the truth. Anyhow, I loved this game. Took me about 35 hours to beat, but I did/collected almost everything. The challenge felt just right. Some bosses were pretty easy, and some made me question my sanity. Some levels were well crafted, and others absolutely sucked. I feel like it was brutal, but also very forgiving with its shortcuts and checkpoints. Given that this is my first soulslike, I’m quite proud with my overall performance.
First boss (Parade Master) nearly made me quit the game. I couldn’t get the party down and it legit made me consider quitting, but my sheer stubbornness made me continue. He beat me about 15 times, but eventually I came out on top. It probably had to do with my low leveling, my attrocious allocation of early level points, and unfamiliarity with the controls. I would often find myself trying to fight and parry like Stellar Blade.
Mad Donkey: found him rather difficult. I was unaware of backstab cheese, and I was still getting used to parrying and taking advantage of rolling I-frames. Killed me like 4 times.
Scrapped Watchman: beat him my second try. Not too bad.
Puppet of the future: pushover. Hardly a challenge.
Fuecoco or however you spell it: I was dreading this one. I had heard many people say that this was one of the hardest bosses in the game, and I got into my own head. I was unaware that I had access to the electric arm after beating the watchman, so my first five or so fights I just fought him with the puppet string. I ended up doing the unthinkable and searched up a video of someone fighting it and I saw they had the electric arm. I fabbed the arm, and I beat it my second try. So, about five tries for this one. Maybe six. Don’t really remember.
Tram/gondola lady: had no idea you could get around fighting her. She beat me like 5 times, although I did notice that I was getting quite a few backstabs on her. Discovered backstab cheese on my own during this fight. Later found out this was actually a viable strat. Died to her like 6 times or so.
Fallen archbishop: ran through the first phase and was greeted to my first second phase boss. Before I knew it had two phases, I had gotten excited cause I thought I was gonna first shot it. I through all abandon to the wind and just went all aggro. Ran through my resources. Second phase. Fuck. Got incredibly close to beating the second phase, but with only one heal, I couldn’t cut it. Ended up beating it my second try.
Black Rabbits: I did fairly well on this one. I think I either beat it my second or third try. Don’t really remember. Great fight, though.
White lady: amazing fight. I had no idea this was a boss so I went in there blind. I had just made it down Isabelle Street and had like nearly no healing. Got close, but she beat me. Second tried her.
The Mad clown: holy crap this thing was hard. Like scary hard. I even had to swap weapons a couple times to see if it made a difference. Took me like 10 tries. The second time I fought it in the swamp, I was much more prepared and I understood the game and its movements better. One shot. Like it was almost a flawless fight.
King of puppets: I did really well on this fight. I was lowkey dreading it since I had spoiled it for myself and knew it was a 2 phase boss. I either second or third tried this boss. I had heard many people consider this one of the hardest bosses in the game, so I was proud of my performance.
Victor: easy. Like so easy. His moves were incredibly slow and telegraphed. I feel like I not only had my fighting style down by this time, but I had better reaction time. I first tried him. My only first try in the game.
Owl man: kicked my ass like three times.
Green monster: second tried this thing. I actually died to the poison the first time around. Just added the poison heal potion and I was able to handle biz my second time around.
Weasel: this was probably the hardest human fight for me for some reason: my weapon of choice until now (the whip scythe) just wasn’t cutting it. Had to swap out to the trident. I was able to beat it after about 8 tries or so.
Walker of illusions: beat me ass like 5 times or so. I had finally upgraded the katana twice or so, and I really wanted to make it work since I still wasn’t the best at parrying, but I just couldn’t. Swapped to my weapon of choice and beat it rather convincingly.
Corrupted Parade Master: I don’t know, but I feel like the parade master was my kryptonite. It wasn’t necessarily hard, I just couldn’t get the parry down for the life of me, and I would take unnecessary risks. I died around 10 times to this thing. Maybe more. Many were close fights. And I guess this is as good a time as any to include the fact that I used specters whenever I could. Maybe it makes me a bitch, but I feel like it’s part of the game. Fights without specters were some of the tougher ones for me.
Black Rabbits: took me like 4 tries. Not much to say. I enjoyed the fight, but it was more of an awareness and resource management fight more than anything.
Laxasia: god was I afraid of fighting her. I had spoiled most of the bosses for myself on YouTube. Boss lists, rankings, etc. Many people consider her the toughest enemy in the game, and they’re not wrong. Took me perhaps five tries, so I was fairly pleased. And please remember, I did use a specter. Amazing fight, though.
Simon: second tried him. Not much more to say. Good fight. I died the first time from the disruption.
Nameless puppet: oh boy. Tough fight. Like really tough fight. I died maybe 25 times or more to this thing. I completely changed my approach like three times. Finally beat him last night. An epic conclusion to an epic game.
I honestly loved this game, but I don’t think I’ll ever come back to it. I was glad to see the credits roll. I proud of myself for sticking it through, and I can honestly say that my “soulslike” itch has been scratched for a loooong time.

2024.05.24 04:32 Affectionate-Sea5339 [TOMT][EDUCATIONAL GAME] on I think a Nickelodeon website. There were 4 parts that were all separate games you could play.

I have been hunting this game forfuckingever and i can't find it. I had so much fun on it and now its gone.
The first game has you at a panel where this evil scientist is promoting an elixir that magically made you smarter. You decide that he is complete horseshit and decide to leave. Walking around the convention center or whatever you stumble upon his office and find his diary. Then he pushes you in his office and locks the door and "you scream for help, but no one hears you," the narrator of the game said those exact words. So you decide to read his diary. It has his confession in it about the elixir not working but it has words missing and the blanks in the diary are underlined. They tell what parts of speech they were like adjective or noun or verb and it was point and click. If you clicked the sides of the screen you looked at a different part of the office, and if you clicked a piece of furniture it would shift to reveal a word behind it and there was a rug that always had a word under it. You could look through a telescope and a spotlight would follow your mouse to reveal what was outside like an owl. There was also a wine cellar that had a key in it that if you took it to a different part of the office it would unlock something. When you found the words they would gather on one side of the diary and you had to place them in with the parts of speech and general context just hinting at where you should place the words. One important detail to remember is that there was a cuckoo clock with a red bird inside.
Eventually you make it out and trace him to a circus where you find his diary again and get the whole rodeo running again for game two. I remember you could go into a theatre that had puppet shows and find words there. You could also go on a real rollercoaster and a dark ride. I'm pretty sure that there was a shooting gallery and I'm certain that there was a machine that played a song about verbs and it was like a cowboy singing these words exactly: "The verb is the action word, check it out," then he would sing a song about all the verbs he did. There was something he did in the rain and it would always end with with the machine breaking and him singing "I skipped" 4 times. The start of this game was narrated by the same guy who narrated the exposition of the first game.
You then chase the scientist to a dock and you find his diary at the ticket counter. You then board a pirate-y ship and start looking for words again in game 3. I remember in the captains quarters there was a book titled "Sailing for Dummies" or something very close to that, it definitely had "for Dummies" in the title. There was a diving suit that the guardian of shell city would wear or captain cutlers ghost would wear in case you need a reference. You could go diving once you unlocked it and you could find a map in the captains quarters and sail to different places to dive at. I also remember that somewhere there was a seagull in a barrel. This was also the first and only game to be narrated by a woman. I could only describe her voice as being Oh-my-stars-esque or Ms. Minutes from Loki
Game 4 baby! We now have a completely different male narrator than from the first two games. Now we've traced the scientist to his lair and he has a time machine that he was gonna use to go to medieval times and give his elixir to everyone but he's off doing who cares and we have a diary to fill in so we're gonna use the time machine. You go to a jetsons-style future and the ice age that is just some caveman or yeti on a mountain. One time is just a word on rock sinking into a lava lake and you have to grab it before it sinks and if you lose it you have to go back to the present and the lair in order to reload that time. In the future you could go to a pond and I think check the mail there and I know you could hit a word out of the sky. Eventually you confront the scientist and he turns good i think? Anyway he takes you to a time that is never confirmed however the wall is the same texture as the office and the cuckoo clock with the red bird (I told you we would come back to it) goes off. The game ends with text appearing on screen asking "Where, or when, are we?"
All of these are point and click, i didn't specify that for all of them so I'll say it here. I think the words "big top" were in the title and it had a ragtime soundtrack for the intro of the first game and maybe the others but im not sure about that second part. Please help me find it, I'll be so happy

2024.05.24 03:17 jgwyh32 Hunter idea: Arnold Kreiburg

Arnold Kreiburg: Puppet Master
I have no idea what he'd use as a weapon, but something simple like a cane I guess? All of his animations would be super over-the-top, that thing where he leans backwards while spreading his arms during the intro of each short is part of his attack recovery animation.
External Trait: Margaretha Puppet - Margaretha's performances are so entrancing that others can't help but stay and watch. Survivor rocket chair elimination speed decreased by 10%, but survivors' movement speed when within 50 meters of a rocket chair decreased by 5%, and all survivors' rescue speed decreased by 40%.
External Trait: Owl Puppet - the owl puppet loves receiving praise from her master. The owl will retrieve items left by survivors who were eliminated from the match, removing them from the map. Items left on the ground from other methods will not be removed.
Tier 0: Kreacher Puppet - the Kreacher puppet will move towards the selected survivor for up to 20 seconds. If the puppet catches up to a survivor, he will steal that survivor's tools temporarily, disabling their abilities for 15 seconds. The puppet can vault over windows and pallets. Cooldown 25 seconds.
Tier 0: Tracy Puppet - the Tracy puppet will automatically move towards the selected cipher machine or exit gate and perform "maintenance" on it, preventing its use for up to 15 seconds. If no target is selected, the puppet will move to the closest one automatically. The puppet can be removed by survivors once she has started her "work". Cooldown 30 seconds.
Tier 1: Michiko Puppet - the Michiko puppet will automatically follow the selected survivor for up to 10 seconds. If no survivor looks at the puppet's face for 2 seconds, she will fly towards the selected survivor, ignoring terrain, and grab them, stunning them in place for 2.5 seconds.
Tier 1: Bonbon Puppet - Arnold takes on Bonbon's building skills. Rocket Chair elimination speed for all survivors increased by 10%.
Tier 2: Joker Puppet - Arnold takes on Joker's violent tendencies. Regular attack speed, charged attack speed and attack recovery speed increased by 50%. Regular attack and charged attack ranges are also increased by 10%.
Tier 2: Leo Puppet - Arnold takes on Leo's hidden dark side. Interaction speed increased by 30%.
Tier 2: Bane Puppet - Arnold takes on Bane's passiveness. He now recovers from all strong controlling effects 30% faster.

its really frustrating cause i cant find anything pointing to any specific mod, so im hoping someone might be able to help with either of these issues

2024.05.23 04:07 Substantial-Chapter5 Legend Handbuff DK

Climbed to legend with handbuff DK this season and I think the deck is a solid B-tier deck. I thought I'd write a guide since I see this deck is listed at D on that report but I think it's pretty good.

AAECAfHhBAaYxAXw6AWDkgaXlQb/lwa5sQYMh/YEsvcEs/cEj+QFzpwGkqAGurEG9rEGi7cGz7wG1+UG2eUGAAA=

To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

Card Rationales
Spellstone, Blood Tap, Puppeteer: Puppeteer is just insane stats in the long run and one of the primary reasons to run the deck. I opt for Spellstone and Blood Tap because you can cast these on 1/2 to tee up a turn 3 geist with 3 power in fast matchups. The other buffs are too expensive or inconsistent, and 4 non-creature buffs is a good number.
Baron, Gold Panner: You need a hand to buff.
Mining Casualties, Bagger, Fistful of Corpses, Rainbow Seamstress: Helps you fight for early board. Only 1 fistful of corpses because you want to limit non-minions. Seamstress could go up to 2, idk.
Geist, Swarmguard: Broken buff targets.
Hound, Muncher, Darkthorn: Hound and Muncher are your backbreaking plays against decks trying to finish you off, and they come down 3 turns earlier than clone zilliax; Muncher and Darkthorn are your finishers against control. 2 of each because you really need 2 of each for the matchups that you do need these cards.
Yodeler, Mosh Pit: These push puppeteer into broken territory. Only x1 each because drawing 2 will mostly lose you the game.
Sickly Grimewalker: It's there to give you a fighting chance against huge boards with quillboar, and against early fat boards with mining casualties.
Reska: Yes it's awkward to buff Reska, but 0 mana for a huge creature with rush is still amazing. Has synergy with yodeler and seamstress (only frost rune).
Exclusions
Zombie Tank: It's awkward because you don't want to play it on turn 2 and 5 corpses is a big ask. It's surprisingly frail even with a buff or two.
Other buffs: Too expensive, can't hit Geist before turn 3.
Headless Horseman: You already out-grind most desks, and for the one's you don't, this card doesn't fix the issue. It's too slow. I promise you that you want to cut this card.
Primus: Practically automatic loss if you spend 8 mana on this and then they cast reverberations or Yogg, and that happened a lot. Also not that great in the fast matchups, you'd rather have a fat hound that can kill multiple minions and represent a big threat next turn.
Possible Other Inclusions
Threads: Thought about crafting 1 to run as a one-of, it would help the Shaman MU I think.
ETC: Again, would help the shaman MU, and I guess the Owl Druid MU that I never saw even once.
Sinister Soulcage: Actually quite good, but just a dead card in fast matchups of which there are many. Try 1-of before running 2.
Mulligans and Matchup Play
Mulligan is pretty easy. If you don't want to worry about MUs just always keep bagger, mining casualties, gold panner, chillfallen baron, geist, and puppeteer.
Hunter: Play around the secrets and control board, nothing. Buffed swarmguard, hound, muncher can be backbreaking.
Paladin: Mulligan for the swarm deck and hope they don't nut draw. I think generally lists that lean control are favored because the various equality-esque effects destroy you. Reska and grimewalker can snatch games from handbuff, that MU is a tossup I think.
Warlock: Assume painlock, keep Fistful of Corpses. Spellstone on 1 if you have Geist in hand is not a bad play. Consider not trading mining casualties into imps so that you can clear their 4/4s with grimewalker procs. Only other deck I played was fatigue, and they can't threaten lethal easily because your 6 mana lifesteal guys will keep you at full. 7 hp (from 2 blood taps/puppeteers) swarmguards are big breakpoint because they contest the 4/4s and don't die to symphony of sins.
Rogue: Against the many "random bullshit" rogue variants just comes down to their luck, and I do think they have to get a bit lucky. Just play fatties and hope they don't get the excavate bounce bird, can't think of anything special you have to do. Against clockwork giants rogue, IDK try to geist a soulstealer or that they draw badly.
DH: HAVE MERCY, HE'S JUST A BOY 😭 Concede so he can go to the Four Seasons Hotel.
Priest: Assume Reno matchup: Bottom right, feels unwinnable. Elise is secret OP, it's going to be everywhere after the aggro nerfs. If you play your quillboamuncher early they will just kill it, if you play it late you risk them dumping 30/30 of legendary stats and 2 titans with Elise on turn 8 so. Personally I play it like I'm the aggro. One possible out is use a huge darkthorn + grimewalker to push damage face and bait Reno, and then finish off with muncher.
Warrior: Assume Reno. I think you're favored. Mosh pit / yodeler on puppeteer and then play the fatties. Mull away bagger, you really want the card draw. Play around Reno, but note that again you can kill them right after Reno with a big enough Muncher or Quillboar. Try to save Reska for Zilliax to deny Dr. Boom. Keep track of which board clears are still available and play accordingly.
DK: Your goal is to play a huge swarmguard plus other large minions because they probably are not playing double blood for those crazy board clears.
Druid: Assume Reno. Again, win board with fat bodies in mid game and then leverage the tempo, set up a finisher. If they have board and drop Rheastrasza it's probably over.
Mage: Kind of a tossup. Mulligan hard for card draw. It's okay, in fact ideal, if they play spot the diff and protect their board and push damage to your face because you have such huge lifesteal swing turns.
Shaman: Not favored if they get staff of nine frogs early. I keep bagger, seamstress, casualties other to keep them off minions to prevent getting blown out by Backstage Bouncer. If you want to improve the MU, I'd swap in threads and ETC.

2024.05.21 16:07 HZCYD101 Best way to use puppet manpower?

After 1500 hours I finally start to see the benefit of puppeting over annexation. Before I always annex unless there's an issue (not enough garrison manpower, too much coast line/front line to cover ext.). The reasons for not taking puppet are that they keep going down their own focus tree and could cause trouble (provoke other nations, split into civil war etc). Similarly other nation could also take focus and have a war goal on the puppet, causing unwanted war at an inconvenient time.
But now I start to see the beneficial side: manpower, resource and factories I can get, especially from integrated puppet. But that also comes with an annoying problem: they just won't stop sending me shitty divisions. Not trained, poorly equipped, and shitty template which you can't change. Disbanding them just send them back to the pool and rinse and repeat. Is there a good way to stop this or at least use their manpower effectively? I could use some manpower for garrison, but apart from that there is nothing that could stop this waste of manpower.
One I can think of, is If I create a puppet division template (I did it years ago for the Tanu Tuva achievement. But I forgot how did I do it now, someone please remind me, is it copy their template and modify?). This way if I train a bunch of better templated divisions from now and then, should it be enough to stop the AI puppet creating their own shitty divisions?

2024.05.21 03:02 rei_mayo I try to integrate my OCs and other characters in Honkai : Star Rail !

Hello !
So... I'm rei_mayo, and I have a little bit unrealistic project. I create OCs and I imagine characters in lore what would they be in game.
I'm French, so I'm sorry for my bad English ! I prefer precise that there is just original or official content in the post ! This is just from the currents versions of the game and from my head !
Since one year, I work in my free time on this project and there is multiple things :
-First part : the lore of the project, like the background and the location ;
-Second part : the relics, and the elevation materials ;
-Third part : the characters, and the banners ;
-Fourth and last part : the plot of the history (in the big lines).
I prefer to precise why I do this. When I play video games, I love to create characters when it's possible, and in MiHoYo games, it's not possible... But, create characters that only me like, it's very selfish, so I would like to present them to have notices if they are fantastic !

First part :

So, the history would be in a location called the "Shìjiè-Chuán of Xianzhou" (nb : mean Ship-World (世界船) in Chinese). The Shìjiè-Chuán is the capital and the most important part of the Alliance. A little time after Lan became an Aeon, Yaoshi asks to an Emanator to kill the Emperor of Xianzhou and to make a plague mark in the original planet of Xianzhou.
Lan discovers that and he purifies the planet, kill Abominations, destroys the plague mark. With the remains of the planet and the Xianzhouan (?) planet, he creates a huge boat, the Shìjiè-Chuán.
For comparative, the Shìjiè-Chuán is so huge that all the other boats can fit in with no problem. It's contains important locations like :
-The Judgment Palace : The place where the Ten Lords and the Generals Arbiters judges the most dangerous criminals. Despite the fact the criminals are jail in the Xuling, they really are judge in the Shìjiè-Chuán.
-The Starry Streets : Streets where neon, big screens and buildings are. The popular streets of the Shìjiè-Chuán, mix of tradition and modernity.
-The Fallen Garden : A garden where plants of all the planets who were saved by the Hunt are. It's also the place where the Yamato was before the Emanator of Lan gets him.
-The Shackling Prison : The prison of Xianzhou, where all the criminals of the Alliance are located. In the depths of the prison, just one person is remained... Shuhu, Emanator of Abundance.
-The siege of the Ten Lords Commission : The place where all the Ten Lords (not included the Fallen King and the Stellar Queen) are when there is no process. It's also the place where all the Judges, the Wraith Wardens and the Aurumations are when they don't have missions.
-The boats Goldsmithery : The place where the boats of the Alliance are repair. Actually, the Cangcheng is here for reparation after the destruction of Rahu.
-Other places... How to discover them ? Play~
And here is some clarifications !
So, who is the Marshals ?
In my idea, Hua is a false Marshal, to cover and hide the Shìjiè-Chuán, but she's really powerful. She would be a Fu Hua expy... And I will talk about her later...
The reals Marshals are Rei -The Fallen King- and Xingxing -The Stellar Queen-.
Rei is the Emanator (and the only) of Lan. Called the Fallen King because of a legend, he's considered like the most powerful person of the Alliance. He carries a divine katana called the Yamato-Shinigami. (nb : Yamato > Yama, Hindu god and judge of the dead. The Chinese god Yanluowang or Yanluo Wang has his origins in Yama. Shinigami > Death Kami). I will talk about him later.
Xingxing (nb : star (星星) in Chinese) is an Emanator of Nous and a Eclairor (?) of IX. Called the Stellar Queen because she uses stars with martial art for fight, she done renovations in the Shìjiè-Chuán for make it more modern. I will talk about her later too.
The Marshals are the boss of Xianzhou and of all the factions who follow the Hunt, like the Galaxy Rangers. They rule all the commissions, and are very important, but they rule different commissions. For example, The Fallen King rule the Cloud Knights, but the Stellar Queen rule the Artisanship Commission. The only Commission they rule together is the Ten Lords Commission.
Who is the Ten Lords ?
In my idea, the Ten Lords Commission would be composed with eight Lords and the two Marshals, and that would be the Ten Lords. In game, it's said that nobody knows where the commission is despite the members of the Commission them-self, but she would be in the Shìjiè-Chuán. The Ten Lords would be :
-The Fallen King ;
-The Stellar Queen ;
-Yuen (I will talk about her later) ;
-Styx, an Emanator of Finality and a member of the Galaxy Rangers (I will talk about him later);
-Athena (I will talk about her later) ;
-and other people... NPCs, so we don't care about them.
Who is really Hua ?
In my idea, Hua would be a "Marshal". When she (in my mind, she's a she) appears in public, she is the Marshal, but in the Shìjiè-Chuán, she's judge like a General. Her title would be the "Fenghuang" (nb : phoenix of Chinese mythology). She would be in the General of the Cangcheng when he would be repair.
But... The Cangcheng is destroyed, no ?
Yes, he was devoured by the activated planet Rahu. But in the year 8098 (so two years before the game), Rei destroyed Rahu (and killed ~10 000 000 000 of abominations). That liberated the remains of the Cangcheng, and Xianzhou is trying repair him.
Why Shuhu is in the prison ? Shouldn't be dead ?
Technically, she's in prison, but it's precised that nobody knows if it's the really Shuhu of not. In fact, in each prison of Xianzhou, a few reproductions mecha-organics were made by the Stellar Queen for hide the real Shuhu. In the Shìjiè-Chuán, she's just a spirit, seal in a transparant box cell. She just wants to talk with five persons : The Fallen King, the Stellar Queen, Yuen, Blade and Jing Yuan. The unique persons who know that Shuhu is alive are the Ten Lords, the Generals and the Stellaron Hunters. Her real body and remains are with the Abundance, but originally her remains were with Xianzhou, and her spirit was with the Abundance.
Now, here is some more lore that I created :
The Trinity of the Abundance :
If you never see Yaoshi, THEY have a lot of plants in THEIR representation. There is a wheat, a bramble, and a large tree.
I imagine that the members of Abundance considered that these three plants are divines. For them, the wheat represent the immortality, the bramble represent the price to pay for become immortal and the thanks to Yaoshi, and the tree represent the life the Abundance offer to the mortals.Traditionally, the Emanators must wear one of these three symbols. For example, Shuhu wears brambles for gives her blood to Yaoshi.
At the opposite, each plant that the Hunt has purified is considered as a sin. For example, each lotus in the Xianzhou Alliance is a sin for Abundance. But the lotus in the planets of Abundance are holy. The lotus is the incarnation of Yaoshi THEM-SELF, but only if it's in a planet of Abundance.
Rakshasa and Luocha :
If you know Luocha, I think I don't to explain that is said that he's related to the Abundance. And Luocha is an other name for "Rakshasa", a type of evil spirit of the Buddhist mythologize who are cannibals. So, I will tell you who they are :
So, after the planet of Luocha get destroyed and his wife gets killed under his eyes, Yaoshi gave to him immortality and powers to become an Emanator of Abundance. Luocha asks to resuscitated his wife, but Yaoshi tells that THEY will do that if Luocha destroys one of the different boats of the Xianzhou Alliance. But Luocha, who was a doctor in his original planet, cannot do that. But the time past, and he couldn't do that... But Yaoshi implants an sort of mara in him, like an evil spirit, so Luocha decided something.
I imagine that Luocha create a another corpse/puppet with remains of different corpses, and transverse the evil part of him in this, but not his powers and his immortality, to trying to find an another way to resuscitate his wife. He create a coffin with powers of Abundance for conserve the corpse of his love, and decided to leave the Abundance, and became a interstellar merchant for trying to discover how to resuscitate his wife.
But Yaoshi couldn't accept that. So THEY gave powers and life to the puppet contained Rakshasa, and THEY gave immortality. And Rakshasa became an Emanator of Yaoshi, for avenge him and Yaoshi. But because he was born from Luocha spirit, he has his savior of doctor.
Rakshasa tries, with Shuhu and the living planet Rahu, to destroy the Shìjiè-Chuán. But the Stellar Queen fought him, and "kill him". But Rakshasa false his death, and he takes with him the remains of Shuhu.
Rakshasa is known for his cannibalism and for his experiences. He's like a Dottore in term of personality, but more crazy and more psychopathic.
The Yamato-Shinigami and the divine spirits of the Hunt :
So, what is the Yamato-Shinigami ?
This saber is an odachi created by Lan, to purge the Abominations and for the Emanators of Lan. So, Lan created this saber with a galaxy and imaginary energy for this first Emanator, but when he dies, Lan hid the saber in the Shìjiè-Chuán for the next Emanator... A long time ago, Rei meditated in the Stellar Garden after the death of his mother, and the Yamato has called him. Since this event, he and the Yamato are lied and the odachi is his saber.
Lan doesn't choose the Carrier of the Yamato, but it's the saber himself who choose his owner. The saber has only two owners in his life : The first Emanator of Lan and Rei.
Lan doesn't place the powers he gives to his Emanator in the Emanator, he place the powers in the Yamato. More the Emanator does miracles and heroics acts, more the Emanator gain the power. Actually, Rei have 100% of his powers, but there is a state more powerful : the Resonance. The Resonance is a phenomenon that caused when the willpower of the Emanator and the willpower of the Yamato are the same, and the power of the Emanator are increase so much that the people say when the Fallen King reach this state temporary, he becomes powerful as a Aeon.
But this state can be permanent, if the willpower of Rei became so strong that him and the Yamato become just one. The spirit in the saber changes his form according to who is the person who meet him. And he doesn't fight, the spirit of the Yamato-Shinigami doesn't fight with Emanators. The Yamato measure ~225 cm/~7,3 feet, and his pound is unknown. (The pound depend of who carries the blade. Very light for the carrier but very heavy for the other)
But what are the divine spirits of the Hunt ?
Do you know the Lighting Lord ? I think yes.>! In the lore, it's "said" and showed that the past General of the Luofu, Teng Xiao, uses the Lightning Lord, like Jing Yuan. But not the same sword, because of the Starfall Reverie has been forged by Blade when he was Yingxing.!< So I imagined that :
The first Generals, when they passed away, Lan take there spirits and gives a lot of power. Since the creations of these spirits, they are give to the Generals, until they choose to retire. Then, it's give to the next Generals, and this cycle is repeated. These spirits are unlike of the spirit of the Yamato, because they don't give their powers and doesn't are in a weapon. Plus, the spirit of the Yamato can't fight with his carrier.
Technically, the General Arbiters are Emanators, like Rei, but the divine spirits changes all. Rei does have powers of Lan/The Hunt and he has the Yamato-Shinigami, but if he fights without, he changes nothing (just the fact that the Yamato uses as a multiplying for the slashes. But if the Generals fights without the spirits, it would changes. (it's a theory/created lore, so please, not rude in comments !)
So the divine spirits would be like the reasons why the Generals of the Hunt are considered as Emanators.
So, now, I think the first part is finish... Let's go to the second part !

Release the Holy Sacrifice can increase the DMGS and the ATK of Rakshasa. Also, his talent take some allies's HP in each turn to increases the Holy Sacrifice. Anyway, he's a very important person of the Xianzhou Alliance. He's from a forgotten planet, who has been destroyed by the Abundance. Rescued by the past Marshal, Lingyue when he was six years old, he quickly became one of the greatest fighter of the Alliance at his teenage years.
He is 19 years old, and he is around 1m96/~6,43 feet. (so I think he's one of the most tall character.). He's VERY muscular, and very handsome (according to me)
Rei is a Hunt character (an Emanator of this path) who deals Imaginary DMGS. His gameplay would be concentrate in the CRIT DMGS. Depending on the attacks, it's giving to him "Fallen Royalty" accumulations. When he has a certain number of this accumulation, he entering in the "Fallen King" state, who increased his CRIT rate and his CRIT DMGS and reinforce his skill and his ultimate. For his ultimate, it increases his CRIT rate and his CRIT DMGS, and he gives 9 slashes to the enemy. When he's in the "Fallen King" state, it's would increase his CRIT rate and CRIT DMGS, also gives XIII (4, 4, and 5) slashes to an enemy. For each slash that are a CRIT hit, an additional slash is inflect. Each additional slash increases the Rei's CRIT DMGS, and they do a CRIT vulnerability. If all the all the additional slashes has been concluded, then a last additional slash is inflect. When he does CRIT DMGS when he uses his ultimate in the "Fallen King" state, it's does another hit in the enemy.
Here is his description :
"One of the two Marshals of the Xianzhou Alliance, the Carrier of the Yamato, the Emanator of Lan and the Fallen King. Feared by his enemies, respected by his allies. He always wears a fickle smile, and he always brings death with him.
Lan, the Reignbow Arbiter entrust the Yamato to Rei, the greatest weapon of all the Alliance. As a great strategist, he's also a good brother. He knows all the Stellaron Hunters, and he's apparently in a relation with the Stellaron Hunter named Blade..."
His VA would be Kaiji Tang (the VA of Gojo).
So, who is Shuhu ?
Shuhu is an Emanator of Yaoshi, considered as the "daughter of the Abundance". She's always with a scythe made with the body of Yaoshi and with the bones of her victims. She has a very sense of the sadism and she hates the humanity for all they have done to her.
Shuhu is a character of the Abundance who deals Quantum DMGS. She has three skills : One where she consumes the HP of the allies for increase DMGS and CRIT DMGS, and she attacks the enemies. An other where she consumes her HP for increase DMGS and CRIT DMGS, and where she attacks the enemies. And the last where she attacks the enemies for steal the HP of the enemies for heals her and the allies. In her ultimate, she consumes her HP and the allies's HP for increase her DMGS, her CRIT DMGS and her CRIT rate, and she attacks the enemies for steal the enemies's HP and heals the allies.
So, who is Athena ?
Athena is one of the Ten Lords, nicknamed as the Protector. She's always with a owl named Zhìhuì (nb : wisdom in Chinese (智慧)), and is a real master of the strategy and the war inventions, but she's also one of the more oldest members of the Ten Lords.
Athena is a character of the Harmony who can increase the DMGS and the ATK of the allies with her skill. Her talent can increase all the allies's RES PEN and their SPD. Her ultimate can increase all the allies's CRIT DMGS for 2 turns, for a chosen ally, she cans place her owl for 2 turns, who inflict additional DMGS on the enemy/enemies who the ally attacks. Also, if the ally get attack, the owl defend them with a counterattack.
So, who is Elio ?
Elio is the chef of the Stellaron Hunters (and if you don't know that, you must haven't touch HSR). I imagine him as a cat (practically not imagine, because it's quite official, but not official, so you know), but he uses his puppet... I doesn't draw him because I know that his design already be... You know what. I imagine him very kind and mysterious.
Elio is a character of the Preservation who can predict the DMGS of the allies. His skill would be a shield. For his ultimate, it's would add a status for all the allies and him : "Forecast of the Script". This effect would last one turn, and would cancel all the DMGS the allies receive.
So, who is Styx ?
AH-HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ! You have to wait !

Fourth part :

The history would be in the Shìjiè-Chuán, and here is the principal plot :
First quest : " You and the Astral Express receive a mysterious call of Jing Yuan, who telling you that he have something important to said to you. The thing in question is that is a feast for the "saviors of the Luofu" (the Nameless) in the... Shìjiè-Chuán ?! Not time for chatting, Jing Yuan gives you the localisation of the mysterious ship, and the Astral Express start his new journey... "
Second quest : " After a few warp jumps, you finally reach the Shìjiè-Chuán, capital of the Xianzhou Alliance. After meet all of the Generals and the Lieutenant Xixian, it's finally the time for you to meet the Ten Lords, including the Fallen King and the Stellar Queen, real Marshals of the Alliance... "
Other quests...? You have to play~
The quest would be a quest long as Penacony... Maybe a little more... And there would be all the Nameless... Yes, Pom-Pom in the quest and he would use his powers ! If he has powers.
In the final boss of the Shìjiè-Chuán, the music would be like, if it's possible, of the song "Bad Apple". In the battle, the people singing for encouraging the ones who are fighting the final boss.
In the 1st phase, it's would be only the divine spirits who singing.
In the 2nd phase, it's would be all the soldiers and the divines spirits who singing.
In the 3rd and the final phase, it's would be all Xianzhou Alliance (yes, Lan included too !) who singing.
The "R" attack ( like the Dan Heng attack during the Phantylia fight ) would be all the divine spirits and the two Marshals conferring their power to the Trailblazer, and then, he/she slashes the boss.
So, it's the end of the post... If you have questions for clarify something, you can in comments, and I would be respond with pleasure !
Bye byeeeeee !

2024.05.21 01:38 AnbuRick Spoiled the entire playthrough by one detail so small it could have been avoided with one line of code

No, not by Mist Noble - that was the best fight in the history of gaming.
This is a rant. Ok now that that's out of the way...
I feel cheated by the decision at Owl, as someone who has to carefully plan a game session (time is limited) and after being unable to break the iron code in the first attempt. I thought this time would be the same, I would be forced into it and get a cutscene that undid my choice (i'm used to that crap, I mean, it's the first time we see the father figure after clearly having deep meaning to Sekiro) so I was sure the conversation would be longer than that before anything happened. I was in my final minute so I went quick on the dialogue out of curiosity of what's next (this type of game I don't play for the story, I know, weird and so I didn't even get to see the second time the question was made). So I kill 2 bosses, game ends, back to the beginning - SCREW-YOU. Of course I wouldn't do it in the first attempt, and neither did I want to actually...Let's see if I don't have a cutscenes alreadyyyy...I don't? Awesome, talk talk - cutscene. SCREW. YOU. GAME.
This type of shit is why I mostly play retro games with those funky dialogue boxes and limited space to move, in contrast, open world games have a constant feeling that you might be missing something in that area so it incentivizes exploration. Which is great but then having such a feeble save file system that has the ability to lock the player out of certain choices, these same choices can be best described as simply exploring. It beats the whole purpose. There's no excuse for it. It's game design, sure, but give me one good reason where it's better to not be able to have multiple save slots in a single play through, one that is not personal.
I know some Souls elitists have cried from the game having a pause button, but I just don't care about these type of restrictions that play no role in the game's replayability, gameplay, or story. It detracts from the experience to have limitations that are not see in any part of the game, this is why many of us don't play simulation games - we can just open the damn door to the street and start playing. Funny enough, the only reason I decided for Sekiro instead of Elden Ring was because I could pause - being a father to a newborn means I need to be ready to serve at any given moment, so being able to pause is not just a blessing, it's mandatory.
I'm sorry-not-sorry for this rant, I even did a quick google search to understand if there was any temporary save file or whatever and I saw some people not really understanding the position of the person asking, many upvotes which just tells me that gamers tend, not only to be kids, but spoiled ones. So I don't expect any roses from this post either. I just wanted to rant because I wanted to best describe the conclusion of my 20+ hours spent on this game to myself. Why I feel cheated by a game I was enjoying, but not enjoying so much as to do another play through. There are games that fascinate me enough for such, Sekiro was a really good game - had the best 1 on 1 combat in this type of game I've seen so far. I know I would enjoy playing again but there are other games in my mind so I'll have to cut short with Shura. I wasn't even aware it had multiple endings until I did a google search to redo...sucks to go blindfolded to amp the experience only to be backstabbed, I'll puppeteer away now.
Thank you Sekiro, for paving the way for an excellent gameplay, next time give the player more options considering he might not be a kid with too much time on his hands.

2024.05.20 11:56 Plus_Jaguar_2134 Rewriting my TS backend, help!

Hi Everyone, I currently have a TS express server as a backend for a simple service I built. The only challenging part of my project is that it needs to be Dockerized and it needs to be able to run Puppeteer inside the container, I struggled and finally made it work with very a specific environment and tsconfig etc.
Now I’m looking to add a new package which only works with the latest ESM configurations, I don’t mind upgrading my project but I don’t want to figure out puppeteer in docker again, so I got the idea to move all the puppeteer functionality to a separate service, this would free up my main service from all of its constraints and give me the freedom to set it up again in the best and most future proof way possible.
Does anyone have any advice or opinions on the best configurations and stuff to use to make it as robust as possible? I have ideas like using starter templates that are supported by docker and expressjs, or maybe even rewriting the backend using Bun, but i’m very lost on how to make a decision. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
