You ever met a rich crackhead chick who’s parents bought her and her heroin addicted boyfriend a whole house, a new car, monthly allowance and seen it all come crashing down? This sounds like a fantasy, but it’s actually reality in the streets of Montgomery County, MD. This is the life of a rich crackhead named Amy.
Before I tell you about Amy, we gotta get the background first and go all the way back to 2021(if you want to skip and get right to Amy, just go to paragraph 11/12, but you’ll miss out on a lot). It’s the year 2021, I had just came back a couple months ago from pulling off EDD fraud. One day I was driving drop top mustangs in Malibu, the next I’m seeing my accounts get frozen and my money slowly begin to dwindle down. Before I knew it I was back in DC, broke and back to square one. Now from the time I was in Cali to the time I returned a lot of shit happened. I fell off with a lot of people, so I found myself hanging around an unusual crowd of people, the Bethesda kids.
You see before I dropped out of Towson University, I had met this nigga named LP, he was from Bowie and he went to school out Bethesda, but me and him got along because we had two things in common: we both liked DMV music, and we both liked to party our asses tf off. But that’s a story for another day.
You see LP put me on to a lot of people from Bathesda, I had never really hung around white folks before, and with the connections he gave me i made friends with a couple of crackas and even met my now deceased ex girlfriend. I was going to the craziest white functions and constantly turning up. But I saw more than a chance to have fun, saw this as a money making opportunity🤑 cha ching! And it was through LP that I met some friends who introduced me to a nigga named Swervy.
You see them white folks love to drink beer and smoke weed at parks, so one day I’m meeting up wit one of my good men, Ju. Ju is the typical school shooter typa fella, so it’s no surprise what I saw when I linked up with him at the spot. With him was this long haired European foreign exchange motherfucker whose name I forgot, and this bearded Eastern European nigga named Swervy, and he was wildin the fuck out. Mind you I’m from the projects, and all these bathesda niggas I’m meeting are rich ass motherfuckers who live in multi million dollar mansions. Keep in mind these cats may be rich, but everybody out bathesda is rich so these are basically the rejects. Pretty much the closest thing to a street nigga you can find out there.
As I’m getting introduced to some of these cats, Swervy pulls out a syringe. So I ask “Man wtf is this man doing,” “He’s shooting up fent” casually says Ju. That was the first time I ever witnessed someone shooting up a drug, and it wouldn’t be the last. Swervy would eventually become Amy’s boyfriend. And he was quite the yapper, he’s one of those motherfuckers who peaked in high school, and now he’s just watching his life come spiraling down, at least that is until he meets Amy…
In this meet up I learn a lot about Swervy. He was basically a kingpin at the age of 16-17. He would get shipments of 10’s of thousands of Xanax bars and sell them like hotdogs at a baseball game. These weren’t your regular junkies, these are the children of senators, buisness owners and lawyers. So you didn’t have to worry about a junkie saying he’ll pay you back, money was nothing to these crazy ass white folks. In the midst of all this yapping, I hear something that caught my attention.
“Yea so basically my cousins got like seven pounds of weed and 500gs of thc wax that they’ll give me if I can pick it up, it’s all the way in Arizona” Says Swervy.
🤑🤑🤑Cha mothafucking ching! This was the money I was talking about. Now driving cross country with pounds of weed and concentrate was risky, but shit I’d give my left nutsack for that kind of opportunity. And I might as well have, because a week later I was on my way to Tucson, with this Russian speaking drug addict I had just met the other day. Mind you I’m driving around in a red Lancer, with paper Vermont tags that I had printed online. I might as well Have went up to the police station and asked any of them if they wanted to buy drugs. My young naive dumbass didn’t realize the risk, all I was thinking about was 🤑🤑🤑 cha Ching!
I can sit here all day and tell you about that drive to Arizona, but imma keep it short and simple so we can get to this Amy chick. It was a fucking disaster, but we end up somehow making it back. We got the pounds and the concentrate, but it was all fucking shake! I’d be lucky to sell that shit for $100 a zip. Anyways, the trip opened my eyes to something, this nigga Swervy was a crashout crackhead dummy, and if I continue hanging out with him I was gonna end up dead or in jail. So I begin distancing myself, as I watched this man throw his life away from a far.
Now months go by, and at this point I’m like the street life ain’t for me and I’m working a job, I got a girlfriend and I’m staying low and just cooling it, with these pounds of weed that was so garbage, I was giving it away like charity donations. I had that goodwill pack! Just as things settle down that’s when Swervy comes back in contact with me. You see last time I had linked him, this man was overdosing off fent and we had to drive him to the hospital and save his life. But to my surprise, he was a changed man, or at least that’s what I thought...
He now has this girlfriend and he lives with her in germantown. You see me I’m baffled and curious, what crazy bitch would date this crazy motherfucker who’d probably sell his soul for one shot of heroin? I just had to find out. And when I met Amy I just didn’t know what to say. She was in her 30s and Swervy and me were in our early twenties. Amy was this slim, blonde hair, blue eyed Czechoslovakian chick who stood at about 5’7”. She wasn’t attractive by no means, you can tell the drugs did it’s toll on her, but if you’re drunk enough she can probably look fuckable. She had her degree in psychology from UMBC, but don’t be fooled her brain seemed like it was long fried. A conversation with her felt like a trip to the mental asylum. You will have better luck deciphering ancient Egyptian hyrogriphics before you can make sense of a word she says. Regardless I genuinely tried to get to know her. My guess was at some point in life she must’ve took a full sheet of acid and never recovered since. But she had her own two bedroom condo with a view of Sugarloaf mountain, a Pomeranian dog(which Swervy fucking hated), and a new jeep. So regardless I was impressed this crackhead motherfucker managed to bag her. So I asked him “Where did you find this shawty?” “At a hookah lounge in Rockville” he told me. That’s right folks, a fucking hookah lounge. Boi when I tell you after that, I was hitting up hookah spots like I had season tickets!
So I’m hanging out with them a lot now basically third wheeling, but Germantown was a long ass motherfucking drive, and I lived at the borderline to DC so I would even spend some nights in their guest bedroom. This Amy chick had parents that paid for her gas money and food, they had a fireplace and a balcony. And I can enjoy the comfort of all this as long as I occasionally bring some weed to smoke. And me I’m not one of those leeching ass bums, so the only time I’m hanging out with them is when I’m invited. And I got invited a lot, probably because Amy’s a bit cuukoo and Swervy had either robbed or scared off all his friends from Bathesda. He wanted someone to give him a break from her, a bro he can drink a beer with. So I would often times accompany them. One time we were at Buffalo Wild Wings, and as I sit across from both of them Amy begins playing footsies with me under the table. Of course I play it cool. I had no interest in her, mainly because Swervy hits raw and takes hepatitis medication, also having witnessed this man hold a bunch of homeless niggas at gunpoint in broad day light after I lost my phone at this gas station in Arizona. I can only imagine how he would react if he found out I smashed his girl.
A lot of the times I hung out with them, me and Swervy would talk about Amy. You see he’s not the type to hold back certain information, and as he’s telling me about his life and relationship that’s when it hit me. A nigga like me grew up all my life, with the world constantly kicking my ass and in a whole different realm of this life shit, you got these two rich kids who fucked up their life so much with so little consequences it became a culture shock to me. Me I caught a case and felt like my life was over, these two white people are disfunctional jobless drug addicts and they’re living the life I could only dream of having with years of hard work. I began to question the world, how many are there like this? Was my life a joke? I didn’t know where I was going hanging out with them, but if I couldn’t live the good life, I could at least witness it from the front row. I learned one thing about their relationship, Amy was basically getting old and low on options, and her parents supported her. Why? Because she’s not running around getting dicked down by a bunch of drug dealing black men anymore. Here they see this young white man, who’s also Eastern European who makes their highly mentally damaged daughter feel secure. And Swervy could win an Oscar, I mean what a fucking performance! One second he goes from Angus Cloud on Euphoria, the next a good suburban white kid the second he meets her parents. In fact he had convinced them that he was such a good man, even went to family gatherings and all, that they decided, let’s just buy them a full blown house.
That’s right, a FULL FUCKING HOUSE. I’m talking about a three story townhouse in Germantown, with a fully furnished basement, a patio, a balcony, a grill, 4 bedrooms, a 70 inch television, a paid off brand new fully insured jeep, they’re talking about trips to Italy. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Fool, are we living in a simulation? I couldn’t fucking believe my eyes, Swervy had pulled off the ultimate finesse. He convinced this rich family that he was the one for their daughter. And the most hilarious thing about it is that he was no better than a crackhead heroin junkie you can find panhandling for money on the street. I couldn’t even be envious, no instead I had felt something inside of me, this sort of toxic motivation. I learned that you didn’t have to work hard in this life, you didn’t have to earn your living, no instead one day God can just drop this lonely damaged woman who’s family is fucking loaded right on your fucking lap. He was even talking about marrying her and having her kids. In fact he tried, but see he had a problem. His sailors couldn’t fucking swim. Maybe it was all the crack, cocaine and heroine. He was having trouble producing fertile sperm, and Amy was running out of time! And that was the peak of their relationship. He was this close to closing the deal, but when it was game time he fell short. All it is now is one of those memories in your head that’ll have you like “damn, what if…” almost like when you reminisce on a football game thinking about how things could’ve been different if that one play went right.
Look I’ll be honest, I sugarcoated a lot of things. They may have lived in a world of handouts, but that relationship was more toxic than a nuclear wasteland. There’s a lot of fucked up details that I’m choosing to leave out, the psychical and mental abuse from both sides, the drug use. He was a psychopath and she was controlling and halfway demented. There’s a saying “opposites attract” and these two motherfuckers were far from it. They were two trains headed on a full on collision, so it was only a matter of time before disaster struck, and boy did it strike. Within a year I had witnessed a once fun relationship, become episodes of Shameless. At one point we fell off, I don’t remember exactly why, probably because I was tired of constantly being involved in their nasty games, and once again I distanced myself from Swervy.
The last I heard of Amy, she had kicked Swervy out the house and he caught her giving the sloppy toppy at a local park to 3 guys. Some hoodlum niggas, and a skater dude with a face tatt. The last time I seen Swervy he was arms dealing and one day pulled out an AR-15 on me and threatened to shoot me. I heard he’s now locked up currently awaiting trial because he broke into her home. I have a feeling one day I’ll see him on the news with a crazy headline.

2024.06.01 06:32 rdk67 Spring Day 73: End of May

May 31 is one of my favorite days of the year – not technically the end of spring, nor commercially the start of summer, which is what Memorial Day has become, but the thumb on the corner of the calendar page that says:
Those who have survived are free to live as they please, bask in the daylight as long as they like. That’s a freedom difficult to purchase, or to make purchases with – one or the other – q. the thumb is still talking? – maybe both –
and yet every wavelength of light that strikes the earth this summer will seem infinitely valuable to the acreage so graced. That’s what’s on the other side of May 31st.
I am seated in the commons area, appraising the hum of the clouds at this time of day, reeded instruments despite the altitude, like a sack of cotton balls praising the pastures of their youth.
I feel a mild nothing of a breeze that sometimes gushes in the fully unfurled leaves, the leaves like old hands at being leaves, the sound like thousands of busy readers turning pages at once, such that even when the sound stops,
the words continue to flow. Oh humanity! What a wonder are we!
I still my body, my breathing, tell the wind to cool it, and my mind goes: boy oh boy, am I still – still as a rose sideways on a sill, and I’m like: The thorn without a voice draws no blood!
I don’t say this aloud, not really sure I even believe it indoors, and then the voice says: Yes of course, quiet – not like the chirping of the stone steps
or the braying of the lampposts both of which, apart, might be fine, but together sound like a feud. Spontaneous arbitration of the built environment – less a vocation than thoroughfare citizenship made manifest.
My eyes drift to the stone cladding on the outdoor garbage bins, how it speaks to our dream that what we use up, we also preserve.
The theme of parents and their children is prominent – children of a certain age, running along the pavement like ducklings, wear these gelatinous helmets that turn them into anime.
Young kids hunker inside prams with steel frames and wheels that could roll over a parking curb.
Someone at the end of the commons shrieks at his kid, and at first I think it’s for being in the grass – an overreaction, I’m already starting to think – but then realize the kid is holding something, like they were getting ready to bite into a toxic, rotting trip to the hospital.
They scorch-earthed the yards that formed the anti-genocide encampment – I’m sorry to have to write that, but they did, and that’s what the encampment was. Today, they roughened the soil,
planted the new political resistance-free grass seed, and I watched them erect the strands of twine that demarcate boundaries – you may watch the grass grow if you like, but don’t pitch a tent on it yet.
The one holds a metal post perpendicular to the ground, and the other creeps up with a shovel, slowly lowers it onto the post by means hydraulic, then seemingly effortlessly ha-ha pushes the post 18 inches into the earth,
does this repeatedly around the perimeter of the encampment. Then the one gets out of the shovel, and the other picks up a reel of twine, starts to walk backward,
her life seeming to unreel from her breast, while the one loops the twine around each of the posts, then once more three feet higher.
The one retrieves a gasoline powered leaf blower out of a truck, walks along one side of the perimeter, blowing errant dirt into its new enclosure. The neatness is expected, I’m sure, but it feels like a mild rebuke –
this is how we keep the peace, says the leaf blower, side to side. From the distance away I am, it makes the sound of brittle paint.
A couple of days ago, I was part of a protest effort in front of the U.S. representative’s office that flowed into the street.
We were chanting and marching in solidarity with those who went upstairs to ask the representative about where her red line was this week.
They were carrying a bright red strand of twine between them, our five ambassadors of compassion and justice, and we cheered for them.
The cops sent a cruiser to close off a lane of the street, lights flashing, and the loop of the circle of us and our voices grew longer, people now and then taking a breather,
but we kept it up, this life of demonstrating right from wrong, in the street if we have to. When they returned, those who made the statement up above,
we circled around them to hear the news,
looked upon their flowing visage, a fierceness I could see move from back to font
and still remember, the way a sculptor remembers.

I have tomato's multiple varieties like Japanese black trufle or Russian crimea, peppers a lot of them multiple types of the sweet ones and jalapeño, poblano, padron, lemon drop, letuce and multiple cabbages. I have also coffee seeds, coca seeds (the Australian one till now I was unable to get the Bolivian one) ephedra seeds, and some more. Opium poppy (got the one used in Turkey) and have also a Nepalese one and some ornamental varieties, some crazy weed (got some mutants with the duck foot I'm growing at the moment) and a cool thing that I got from my father a ocimum minimum crossed with a ocimum basilico var thai. (the plant is good looking but i still don't know if the offspring of this cross is viable
Im looking for the breeds u don't hear about like the pepper your dad was been breeding since u remember. And seeing how this change in diferent parts of the world and getting closer to what I can call the "endemic" specie or variety of a region.
So yeah many of my seeds don't have a labeled var I just know where that plant was growing before it reached me and the plant characteristics so if u are OK with a unlabeled tomato from some region of china u could get from me and have something to offer just reach me.

2024.06.01 04:03 cosh-mosh Excited for first lab, but need guidance

First off I'm stoked to finally be able to post here after a few months of lurking and wishing I had my own homelab. I can't wait to dig in and start learning. However I'm in the weeds and unsure about how to best use the hardware I have on hand.
I scored a free PC from work, knocked some holes in my office closet, ran Ethernet in the crawl space to the living room, extended the coax run to the closet, ditched the ISP combo router, bought a modem, dusted off my old wireless router, retired my aging laptop, and bought a cheap wire rack for the closet.
My original plan was to put OPNsense on the laptop with a USB to Ethernet adapter and use a switch. Now I'm thinking I want to run proxmox on the PC, virtualize OPNsense, and get a 4 port Intel NIC.
I need a Jellyfin server for my family's movies/TV and we have ~1 TB of pictures and videos.
Now for the gear! 😁
PC: i5 10500 500 GB NVME 64 GB DDR4 2666 mhz (saved from the trash!) Intel Gb motherboard Ethernet Intel i350-t4v2 NIC ($67.99, looks authentic) pcie3 x16 (NIC) pcie3 x1 (open) NIC is shipped, should be here next week
Laptop: i5 8250u MX150 GPU (seems kind of useless) 250 GB M.2 SATA SSD 16 GB DDR3 realtek GB Ethernet 2 open 2.5" storage slots (1 is a converted optical drive)
SATA SSDs laying around: Teamgroup Vulcan Z 2 TB ($65 new a while back 🤙) Crucial bx500 500 GB Kingston SA400S37 500 GB None of these have much wear on them.

Now for my issue 😬 This is my first Reddit post, so I'm not sure what the format is going to look like, but I've tried to attach some pictures of my set up. The PC has 3 SATA ports, 2 "SATA Power" connectors (maybe they are Mini Fit 4.2mm?), but due to the SFF I only have room for 1 HDD. These cables would allow me to have 3 SATA SSDs but I can't find them anywhere. https://rankacomputers.com/products/cnct620c/dual-sata-15p-mini-fit-4p-powe The PC also has no case fans to cool HDDs.
What are my options? I'm open to spending some money on this, but I really like playing with a budget constraint because I feel you can pay your way out of just about any problem. I know I'm going to have to buy storage eventually, maybe I could get a pice x1 NIC, a switch, an HBA and a JBOD enclosure for the PC? I don't have an immediate need for that right now though and I just want to get up and running.

I'm (26F) a young, attractive, well-spoken professional with strong leadership qualities. I've always found myself relatively popular and influential among my peers.
I also have a history of excessive drug abuse (Xanax, cocaine, painkillers, etc.) and still smoke weed. I'd wear D.A.R.E. shirts in college for the irony. I think this information would be shocking to most people's parents, people that meeting me in a professional setting or people that don't know me well. I give off a put-together, intelligent and innocent vibe.
I think a combination of all of these things would make me an excellent anti-drug public speaker in high schools or similar settings. I also think I could come across as "cool" to kids, giving me a chance to actually influence them to stay away from street drugs.
Ince I realized the pills and cocaine I was buying for years were actually just Fentanyl, I couldn't believe I was still alive and stopped doing them completely. I'd love to share my experience with a judgement-free tone and potentially influence even just one kid.
What would be the best way to get into something like this?

This is a compilation of two days' worth of testing & reviewing perfumes from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab that I previously left in Indie of the Day comments. Please keep in mind that these are "first impression" style reviews, so I can't comment on throw or wear length. With the exception of I Know You're Watching Me, everything here came as a free sample included with my orders, and will be available in the GC.
Day 1
A Countenance Foreboding Evil (Patchouli, ylang ylang, blood orange, and vetiver). I didn't like this when I first received it, with no idea of the scent notes. Coming back to it today wasn't any better. Sweet and musty. Like an old attic that hasn't been kept totally dry. Dusty, fussy, and sickly sweet. Not a winner for me. I'm very patchouli skeptical and hate oranges. I vaguely recall maybe disliking ylang ylang as well. We just weren't meant to be. Destash.
Depraved (Earthy black patchouli swelling with apricot). There wasn't really hope for this one either. I don't loathe it, though. The apricot is nice and I could see how this might work for me layered with something else. The apricot has a nice tanginess to it that brightens the patchouli enough to be tolerable. Husband thinks it smells like vitamin C tablets. Probably nice on someone else. Destash.
Hecate (Deep, buttery almond layered over myrrh and dark musk). I was excited by the name alone and applied without checking the notes first. Internal monologue on applying this went something like, "Jesus that's sweet. Bubblegum? Or is it fruit punch!? Wtf am I smelling?" Then 10 seconds later, "Oh I like this what's in it 🥺". The almond is intense in the bottle but immediately calms down upon application. It's rich without being foodie. This one oozes confidence; sensual without being lusty. Piercing eyes and a quick wit. A very adult fragrance that says "I have arrived". The myrrh is resinous rather than dry. A hint of citrus brightens things up just a bit and the musk keeps everything grounded and warm and full. Absolutely lovely. Keeping.
Jezebel (A gloriously decadent blend of honey, roses, orange blossom and sandalwood). My nose must be getting better. I was able to identify honey, and not-quite-orange off the bat without the scent notes. This one is very smiley. A bright, happy fragrance. Positivity liquefied. Sunshine and flowers in your hair and an unselfconscious toothy grin. The rose and honey are so beautifully matched here, and the orange blossom is pretty and just east of true citrus. The sandalwood feels like an afterthought, but may simply be playing a supporting role to allow the rest of the notes to flourish. I'll wear this on days I need a feminine pick-me-up. Keeping.
Black Annis (A mixture of damp cave lichen and oak leaf with a hint of vetiver, civet and anise). I remembered liking this in the imp so I put it on without much further thought or care. It goes on spicy, almost smoky. There's a bite to it that's adjacent to black pepper. Later I forgot what I was wearing and was surprised to find I smelled black licorice - ah yes, anise. This one is complex. Musky, sweet, spicy, earthy, rich. There is a lot going on, but it's oddly harmonious. I think I like it, but Black Annis is such a singular experience that I can't quite wrap my head around it yet. This one will need further testing to be fully appreciated. In limbo.
Urd (Muscadine, black and red patchouli, cereus and nag champa). This imp was poorly behaved and splortched all over the side of the bottle upon opening. I instinctively spread the spillage onto my hand and wrist so as not to waste it. After 2 minutes I smelled like a headshop and promptly scrubbed it off. "Urd" might be exactly what came out of my mouth while crinkling my nose. 😖 Destash.
Jack (True Halloween pumpkin, spiced with nutmeg, glowing peach and murky clove). After my Urd experience, I decided to actually check the notes before diving in with this one. To me, Jack smells just like a fall themed candle from a place like Bath & Body Works. Maybe the candle is called Autumn Sweater. It's sweet. It's spiced. I don't know that I can smell pumpkin, but I don't know that I can't smell pumpkin - just like the candle. I feel like I've met the kind of woman who loves this perfume for fall. She's a perfectly lovely person, but we find we don't have much to say to each other. Destash.
Black Tower (Long-dead soldiers, oath-bound; the perfume of their armor, the chill wind that surges through their tower, white bone and blackened steel: white sandalwood, ambergris, wet ozone, galbanum and leather with ebony, teak, burnt grasses, English ivy and a hint of red wine). My last scent for the day. I let a friend sample this imp and liked it on them. I'm glad I gave it a try myself because I adore this. These long dead soldiers are ghostly, not embodied. The burnt grass and ozone in this add a perfect crispness to an otherwise heady scent. The smell has a vapor-like quality to it somehow. Like picking up a scent in the breeze after rain. The metal in this is gorgeous. I love BPAL's metallic notes and this is no exception. The ivy and wine sweeten things up just enough to keep this from feeling dismal. It feels like looking out on the sea from a high window in a drafty tower, wrapped in a thick shawl and holding a leather journal you're about to pour your heart out to. Gorgeous. I want 6 bottles of this. Keeping.
Day 2
I Know You're Watching Me (A smear of flushed, pearly skin musk splashed by a sophisticated vintage aldehyde perfume and drenched in the secretions of high-pitched arousal). I looked high and low for a decant of this. Upon application, it smells like extremely fragrant laundry. The way you dream your laundry would smell when your maids are finished washing and neatly folding it. As it dries, I start to get the faintest hint of honey, then something savory, but it's lurking quietly behind the aldehydes, which are now giving the impression of something almost lemony -but there's definitely no lemon. After some time I'm not sure if I'm getting the skin musk or secretions, but I'm definitely smelling a person. It smells like skin that is just developing a light sheen of salty sweat from exertion. It's sensual and absolutely lusty. But the bright, breathy aldehydes keep this very wearable as a daily perfume. It's perfectly clean and perfectly dirty at the same time. A housewife consumed by daydreams of carnal animal passion. Shockingly true to the description. Keeping & upgrading to full size.
Anteros (Throbbing red musk and shimmering chypre with saffron, sweet patchouli, Italian bergamot, red currant, and vanilla bean). Off the bat, the red musk is front and center, smelling of a swirling blend of warm, dry spices. The bergamot peeks out fairly quickly, smelling of orange wood. I almost don't recognize the chypre, as the spices totally dry it out. Anteros begins to take on a traditionally masculine quality at around this point. I get a hint of the patchouli but no red currant at all, which I'm pretty disappointed about. I think a bit of fruit juice would really brighten this up and round it out. The overall effect for me is bitter, dry spices and woods. It does seem to liven up a bit after a longer wear, but I've got a masculine-leaning chypre that I prefer on myself. Passing this on to my husband.
Harlot's House (Angel's trumpet, violet, white sandalwood, oude, copaiba balsam, angelica, white tea, olibanum, and oakmoss). This goes on as a riotous, bright floral. Sweet and lively. These harlots aren't the sultry, seductive type. They're sitting on bar tops and telling tall tales. They're doing the can-can while breathless with giddy laughter. Flushed and beaming and one more round of drinks. The olibanum gives a tartness to the florals, while the oak moss and sandalwood add a touch of sophistication. Truly lovely, upbeat, and with surprising depth. The angel's trumpet is simply gorgeous in this. On me this is a scent for leveraging feminine wiles and exercising inconspicuous power. However, my husband also enjoyed wearing this one. Keeping.
Mag Mell (The warmth of amber, the puissance of white ginger and the clarity of verbena, with fresh green grass, lush sage and cleansing droplets of summer rain). This goes on wet like a bar soap with the word "zest" or "spring" in the name. As it dries down, a wave of verbena threatens to overtake everything else. Luckily the verbena settles down almost as quickly as it appears, allowing the grass and sage to come out to play. The whole effect is very green, crisp, and breezy. The ginger only just peeks out here and there, very elusive and almost shy. I think it's the summer rain component that gives the "clean" impression. This would be a perfect scent on a sweltering day. With further wear, the bright herbaceous plant matter is softened by the amber. I think this would be an easy go-to during the warmer months for any gender. Keeping.
Port Royal (Spiced rum and ship’s wood mixed with the body-warmed trace of a prostitute’s perfume and a hint of salty sea air on the dry-down). My initial thoughts are "bitch, you smell like rum". Suffice to say, this is very rum-forward on application. It does feel like a beach party scent. You've got a hibiscus flower in your hair and by the end of the night you can't tell what's perfume and what's real rum, and you don't care. The wood in this isn't overbearing, it gives me the impression of the wood planks of a coastal pier; weather worn and salt crusted. Not sure if this scent is for me, but I'll give it another go on a warm day. In limbo.
Bayou (Spanish moss, evergreen and cypress with watery blue-green notes and an eddy of hothouse flowers and swamp blooms). This is all floral on me, with evergreen & cypress playing second fiddle somewhere in the background. It's a scent that feels humid, like sitting on the back porch and fanning yourself as you pick up the scent of trees heavy with blooming gardenias. I think I pick up other white florals as well, maybe jasmine. I am missing the water, the bayou itself, almost entirely. Gimme that murky swamp water. This is pretty, but I can't see myself reaching for it often. I'll use up this imp's ear but won't repurchase. Keeping.

2024.06.01 02:13 FinePlanRound7 Reddit (and its people) are geared to be partially unhelpful by design

Reddit creates spaces where herds of people can feel comfortable, and I think it's great. People need to socialize, chat, and ultimately belong.
I use Reddit to get to solutions to problems people don't normally encounter. Sometimes - never really think they can encounter.
Maybe it's my fault that I don't value belonging with a group nearly as much as doing my own cool thing, but I guess that's how I am. However, when I ask questions, especially if they can lead to a shift in paradigm, people on Reddit really don't like it. I noticed that it's surprisingly common for people to look for some marker of supposedly acting in bad faith/breaking rules/being this or that. Sometimes, people try to skew the discussion into useless weeds or tell how (as a response for question) one need to act this or that way.
Here is partially anonymized example. I discovered/invented a cool way to do something in an area where I don't have formal education, and I asked a question about specific nuances people with formal education would know. Yes, this happens sometimes, for example, the leg lengthening techniques were invented by a guy inspired by horse yokes, or the sewing machines were created because of an enterpeneur's fever nightmare. Instead of seriously answering the question (which is not that difficult), people take an offense, immediately presume bad faith, and take (perhaps subconscious) steps to derail the question.
But it's not just the people, but Reddit's Comments karma system makes it worse. Like ~75% of Subreddits require positive comment karma, once the comment karma is too low, the account is as good as dead. Unless you can recover it through AskReddit or something. This indirectly discourages even responding to the accusations, as once the community really doesn't like you or your ideas, they will downvote someone they don't like to death, and Reddit is set up to allow for that.
But to end it on a positive note, I found answers to some really important questions. I discovered an absolutely amazing tourism & hospitality entrepreneur in another country through a Reddit recommendation on DMs, I learned a lot about obscure non-Googleable tech and knowledge.
TL;DR: Yes, Reddit is often useful, but once you or your ideas are outside of Reddit users comfort zone, they are geared to be unhelpful, and the Reddit system even creates means to suppress descent.

And it was through LP that I met some friends who introduced me to a nigga named Swervy.
You see them white folks love to drink beer and smoke weed at parks, so one day I’m meeting up wit one of my good men, Ju. Ju is the typical school shooter typa fella, so it’s no surprise what I saw when I linked up with him at the spot. With him was this long haired European foreign exchange motherfucker whose name I forgot, and this bearded Eastern European nigga named Swervy, and he was wildin the fuck out. Mind you I’m from the projects, and all these bathesda niggas I’m meeting are rich ass motherfuckers who live in multi million dollar mansions. Keep in mind these cats may be rich, but everybody out bathesda is rich so these are basically the rejects. Pretty much the closest thing to a street nigga you can find out there.
As I’m getting introduced to some of these cats, Swervy pulls out a syringe. So I ask “Man wtf is this man doing,” “He’s shooting up fent” casually says Ju. That was the first time I ever witnessed someone shooting up a drug, and it wouldn’t be the last. Swervy would eventually become Amy’s boyfriend. And he was quite the yapper, he’s one of those motherfuckers who peaked in high school, and now he’s just watching his life come spiraling down, at least that is until he meets Amy…
In this meet up I learn a lot about Swervy. He was basically a kingpin at the age of 16-17. He would get shipments of 10’s of thousands of Xanax bars and sell them like hotdogs at a baseball game. These weren’t your regular junkies, these are the children of senators, buisness owners and lawyers. So you didn’t have to worry about a junkie saying he’ll pay you back, money was nothing to these crazy ass white folks. In the midst of all this yapping, I hear something that caught my attention.
“Yea so basically my cousins got like seven pounds of weed and 500gs of thc wax that they’ll give me if I can pick it up, it’s all the way in Arizona” Says Swervy.
🤑🤑🤑Cha mothafucking ching! This was the money I was talking about. Now driving cross country with pounds of weed and concentrate was risky, but shit I’d give my left nutsack for that kind of opportunity. And I might as well have, because a week later I was on my way to Tucson, with this Russian speaking drug addict I had just met the other day. Mind you I’m driving around in a red Lancer, with paper Vermont tags that I had printed online. I might as well Have went up to the police station and asked any of them if they wanted to buy drugs. My young naive dumbass didn’t realize the risk, all I was thinking about was 🤑🤑🤑 cha Ching!
I can sit here all day and tell you about that drive to Arizona, but imma keep it short and simple so we can get to this Amy chick. It was a fucking disaster, but we end up somehow making it back. We got the pounds and the concentrate, but it was all fucking shake! I’d be lucky to sell that shit for $100 a zip. Anyways, the trip opened my eyes to something, this nigga Swervy was a crashout crackhead dummy, and if I continue hanging out with him I was gonna end up dead or in jail. So I begin distancing myself, as I watched this man throw his life away from a far.
Now months go by, and at this point I’m like the street life ain’t for me and I’m working a job, I got a girlfriend and I’m staying low and just cooling it, with these pounds of weed that was so garbage, I was giving it away like charity donations. I had that goodwill pack! Just as things settle down that’s when Swervy comes back in contact with me. You see last time I had linked him, this man was overdosing off fent and we had to drive him to the hospital and save his life. But to my surprise, he was a changed man, or at least that’s what I thought...
He now has this girlfriend and he lives with her in germantown. You see me I’m baffled and curious, what crazy bitch would date this crazy motherfucker who’d probably sell his soul for one shot of heroin? I just had to find out. And when I met Amy I just didn’t know what to say. She was in her 30s and Swervy and me were in our early twenties. Amy was this slim, blonde hair, blue eyed Czechoslovakian chick who stood at about 5’7”. She wasn’t attractive by no means, you can tell the drugs did it’s toll on her, but if you’re drunk enough she can probably look fuckable. She had her degree in psychology from UMBC, but don’t be fooled her brain seemed like it was long fried. A conversation with her felt like a trip to the mental asylum. You will have better luck deciphering ancient Egyptian hyrogriphics before you can make sense of a word she says. Regardless I genuinely tried to get to know her. My guess was at some point in life she must’ve took a full sheet of acid and never recovered since. But she had her own two bedroom condo with a view of Sugarloaf mountain, a Pomeranian dog(which Swervy fucking hated), and a new jeep. So regardless I was impressed this crackhead motherfucker managed to bag her. So I asked him “Where did you find this shawty?” “At a hookah lounge in Rockville” he told me. That’s right folks, a fucking hookah lounge. Boi when I tell you after that, I was hitting up hookah spots like I had season tickets!
So I’m hanging out with them a lot now basically third wheeling, but Germantown was a long ass motherfucking drive, and I lived at the borderline to DC so I would even spend some nights in their guest bedroom. This Amy chick had parents that paid for her gas money and food, they had a fireplace and a balcony. And I can enjoy the comfort of all this as long as I occasionally bring some weed to smoke. And me I’m not one of those leeching ass bums, so the only time I’m hanging out with them is when I’m invited. And I got invited a lot, probably because Amy’s a bit cuukoo and Swervy had either robbed or scared off all his friends from Bathesda. He wanted someone to give him a break from her, a bro he can drink a beer with. So I would often times accompany them. One time we were at Buffalo Wild Wings, and as I sit across from both of them Amy begins playing footsies with me under the table. Of course I play it cool. I had no interest in her, mainly because Swervy hits raw and takes hepatitis medication, also having witnessed this man hold a bunch of homeless niggas at gunpoint in broad day light after I lost my phone at this gas station in Arizona. I can only imagine how he would react if he found out I smashed his girl.
A lot of the times I hung out with them, me and Swervy would talk about Amy. You see he’s not the type to hold back certain information, and as he’s telling me about his life and relationship that’s when it hit me. A nigga like me grew up all my life, with the world constantly kicking my ass and in a whole different realm of this life shit, you got these two rich kids who fucked up their life so much with so little consequences it became a culture shock to me. Me I caught a case and felt like my life was over, these two white people are disfunctional jobless drug addicts and they’re living the life I could only dream of having with years of hard work. I began to question the world, how many are there like this? Was my life a joke? I didn’t know where I was going hanging out with them, but if I couldn’t live the good life, I could at least witness it from the front row. I learned one thing about their relationship, Amy was basically getting old and low on options, and her parents supported her. Why? Because she’s not running around getting dicked down by a bunch of drug dealing black men anymore. Here they see this young white man, who’s also Eastern European who makes their highly mentally damaged daughter feel secure. And Swervy could win an Oscar, I mean what a fucking performance! One second he goes from Angus Cloud on Euphoria, the next a good suburban white kid the second he meets her parents. In fact he had convinced them that he was such a good man, even went to family gatherings and all, that they decided, let’s just buy them a full blown house.
That’s right, a FULL FUCKING HOUSE. I’m talking about a three story townhouse in Germantown, with a fully furnished basement, a patio, a balcony, a grill, 4 bedrooms, a 70 inch television, a paid off brand new fully insured jeep, they’re talking about trips to Italy. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Fool, are we living in a simulation? I couldn’t fucking believe my eyes, Swervy had pulled off the ultimate finesse. He convinced this rich family that he was the one for their daughter. And the most hilarious thing about it is that he was no better than a crackhead heroin junkie you can find panhandling for money on the street. I couldn’t even be envious, no instead I had felt something inside of me, this sort of toxic motivation. I learned that you didn’t have to work hard in this life, you didn’t have to earn your living, no instead one day God can just drop this lonely damaged woman who’s family is fucking loaded right on your fucking lap. He was even talking about marrying her and having her kids. In fact he tried, but see he had a problem. His sailors couldn’t fucking swim. Maybe it was all the crack, cocaine and heroine. He was having trouble producing fertile sperm, and Amy was running out of time! And that was the peak of their relationship. He was this close to closing the deal, but when it was game time he fell short. All it is now is one of those memories in your head that’ll have you like “damn, what if…” almost like when you reminisce on a football game thinking about how things could’ve been different if that one play went right.
Look I’ll be honest, I sugarcoated a lot of things. They may have lived in a world of handouts, but that relationship was more toxic than a nuclear wasteland. There’s a lot of fucked up details that I’m choosing to leave out, the psychical and mental abuse from both sides, the drug use. He was a psychopath and she was controlling and halfway demented. There’s a saying “opposites attract” and these two motherfuckers were far from it. They were two trains headed on a full on collision, so it was only a matter of time before disaster struck, and boy did it strike. Within a year I had witnessed a once fun relationship, become episodes of Shameless. At one point we fell off, I don’t remember exactly why, probably because I was tired of constantly being involved in their nasty games, and once again I distanced myself from Swervy.
The last I heard of Amy, she had kicked Swervy out the house and he caught her giving the sloppy toppy at a local park to 3 guys. Some hoodlum niggas, and a skater dude with a face tatt. The last time I seen Swervy he was arms dealing and one day pulled out an AR-15 on me and threatened to shoot me. I heard he’s now locked up currently awaiting trial because he broke into her home. I have a feeling one day I’ll see him on the news with a crazy headline.

Edit: 😂apparently it’s a small world an a few of y’all know the people I’m talking about and updated me on swervys situation. He’s now out on bail awaiting trial.

2024.06.01 02:03 SuperTFAB Do not do what I did. A cautionary tale….

TLDR at the bottom.
So I usually over do it with the research when I take on something new but I didn’t do that this time. I’ve learned so much in the last couple weeks. I’m going to start at the beginning.
Our first Monarch experience started by accident. Back in February we went to a local nursery that has a butterfly garden. It ended up being closed due to a big storm we had the week prior. They were redoing it. We happen to grab a few plants that attract butterflies and walked by the milkweed. There were only a few left and they had 3 instars on them. Now I know they were stage 2, 3 and 4. The employee we talked to gave us some info on what to do with our new buddies and we headed home.
I put together a planted a tank that had a mesh top. We were in business. It was so cool watching them grow so fast. I did a little reading and once they got bigger I transferred them to your standard pop up enclosure on a whole milkweed. They all grew up and turned into 3 perfect butterflies. It was awesome and we all enjoyed it especially my 4 year old.
Fast forward to a month and a half ago and we decided we wanted to raise a few more Monarchs and headed back to the nursery. They were all out. My daughter was bummed and honestly so was I, so I decided to order some online. I found what I thought was a reputable site that required you to mail back a post card once your milkweed arrived. Well it took them a whole month to send us our, what was supposed to be, 3 instars. We ended up with a container crammed with leaves. I had to use a magnifying glass to find them all. I didn’t even know that Monarchs hatched THAT tiny.
Then, I did a lot of googling because what the heck do you do with something so small. I set them up and cleaned up their container and fed them new leaves daily. 4 days later a beautiful Monarch visited our porch and fluttered around for about half an hour, landing on our remaining milkweed while my daughter and I excitedly watched from inside.
I didn’t think much of it until I went to go buy more milkweed from our local nursery to feed the instars we had. I told one of the managers and she got so excited and said to check the leaves. What I didn’t know was that checking for eggs didn’t mean bring them or ALL the instars inside. 😅 I needed a lot more milk weed. So I went and bought some and the more milkweed I bought the more instars I ended up with.
I sent my husband to grab more after work one day. I had him get 6 more milkweed. Things were still (mostly) under control until I realized that a very large Queen ended up on one of new milkweeds. Thankfully I had just read about them on this wonderful sub the night before so I recognized it and after a bit more reading I realized it needed its own plant and enclosure. Ok now we are down to 5 plants and then I notice aphids and brown spots on the new leaves. I called the nursery and they said it was fine. Rinse the aphids off and the leaves with the spots were still useable. I left them outside and just cut off what we needed. The next day (I think) I go back to the nursery and grab more plants and drop off 7, 1 and 2’s. I think it was around this time that I randomly found a 2/3 instar dead in the dirt, in the enclosure. I put it to the side and thought, “Well I did read that, even in captivity, not all instars make it for varying reasons.” It was at this point I started designing and begging my other half to help me build an outside enclosure and to start a way station. Go big or go home. 🤡
Then, I lose a stage 5 instar that was already in its J position. (You may have seen my post) I instantly freak and think it’s OE or Black Death. I started separating all the instars from each other and using everything I had in the house that would safely contain them to separate them. I put the 3 plants that Cat came from outside just to be safe and started cleaning, the enclosure and every leaf I fed the rest of the cats. I wanted to keep the Cats that were already together in the same space so as to not cross contaminate anything. I posted about the Cat that died and you guys gave me the right answer. Tachinid fly.
Before I knew it that I was having to separate the larger Cats and I was running out of appropriate long term containers. I ran to Micheal’s (a craft store) to see what I could grab at 7pm. They happen to have a sale on these craft wood and mesh houses that were large enough for the larger instars who came from separate enclosures. I bought 10 of them. Made them Cat appropriate, transfered everyone over, fed them (found more cats while doing this) and went to bed, well almost. First I go outside to check on my original native milkweed and they have been over run by the fungus. I take what I can and clean it all and add more milkweed to those who need it. At this point, so way too late, I realize I am in some trouble.
I immediately bite the expensive bullet and order 12 natives from joyfulbutterfly on top of some nectar plants and seed for myself so I can have my own supply of fungus and egg freed milkweed. I was still hopeful they would get here soon and I could grab some more milkweed from the nursery in the mean time.
I go to the nursery and all the natives are covered in the fungus. There were some tropicals but I had already learned too much by then to buy them on top of the fact that they had half eaten leaves everywhere and tachinid flies buzzing around. I didn’t need more instars or more deaths. So I left and called another nursery but they said their milkweeds were pretty chewed up too. Ok, I’m still good for now anyway and maybe the order will come in. Well that was not going to be the case because they ship to my state on Fridays which is today.
At this point I’ve got 6 chrysalis, 16-ish 4/5 instars and I don’t know how many 1’s and 2’s hanging around. Last night I clipped and cleaned basically all I had left. I knew I had to decide what to do by this morning. I decided that since the majority of them came from the nursery they could take them back too. I couldn’t keep buying their milkweed and ending up with more babies. I called and they said they would take them.
I didn’t know how many I had until I prepped the containers for them to travel in. 😅. I filled those with literally the last of what I had. For some reason this took hours. I decided I would keep 6, 5 stage instars. 3 were at the top of their enclosure and 3 others were happily munching on huge stems. I’d inspect and get just enough plants to feed the remaining 3.
I packed up 34 cats! There’s no way they thought I’d bring in 34 cats to them but they took them. I handed over the two boxes and asked about the natives. I go to grab them and they are covered in fungus. I had to resort to the tropicals. I had at least 3 mouths to feed at home. I carefully inspected the 3 I chose and moved any instars and eggs over to other plants. They had a bit of the fungus on them too so I let the manager know, again.
The responsibility of those tiny lives, the feeding and cleaning and worrying about disease was so weighty and now it was off my shoulders and I learned hard, valuable lessons.
You do not need to mess with nature that much. I did not need to keep all the instars “safe” in my house. In fact, I straight up shouldn’t have. Raising a few monarchs here or there and building up a healthy supply of milkweed and nectar plants is great but as it turns out I was likely doing more harm than good.
Thank you to everyone on this sub who contributes and uses their experience and knowledge to help newbies like me. I used that search box a lot over the last week. I’ve learned about OE and other diseases, that native milkweed is where it’s at, if you choose to raise some monarchs in captivity do it in a responsible way that mimics their natural environment as much as possible, clean your enclosures after each use with a diluted bleach and water combo and lastly but most important, DO NOT take on more cats if you don’t currently have, on hand, the milkweed they will ultimately decimate.
All in all I’m left with 6 chrysalis (do yourself a favor and learn how to move these) and 6 chunky, healthy looking cats who are almost ready to start the pupa phase of their life. Hopefully in a couple weeks, I’ll be sharing release videos! Thanks again.
TLDR: you do not need to save all of the cats/eggs, make sure you have enough milkweed already on hand to feed the cats you have, native milkweed is where it’s at, if you don’t have to don’t raise your monarchs indoors, use this sub and it’s search box BEFORE you accidentally start a butterfly zoo in your house.

2024.06.01 01:34 Organic_Issue6381 My Addict MIL Is Too Much

I hate to admit it, but she's just so much to deal with. She's always on multiple things at any given day. Weed, kratom, alcohol, trying to OD on her other meds that she doesn't really need.
I just finished trying to help her buy an RV so she can live on her own nearby us and my SILs family. She had two specific phone numbers she needed to call on a page in her notebook of 9 other phone numbers all different ways, upside down, sideways. Covered in scribbles.
She said she needed to call the RV guy, so I grabbed his number from my husband's old phone while he was at work. She then put in the RV guys phone number and then asked him for his number, if it was correct and then asked who she needed to call. She then said she was confused and did the same thing to the other guys number.
I asked her what she needed me to do beforehand bc I could already tell she was fucking gone when she asked "not laptop, his computer" and meant my husband's phone. She couldn't find her weed gummies that were in front of her and couldn't discern the number 8 from the number 1. She had her new glasses on, too.
My husband just texted me that the guy called him and was confused. I told him what happened and he told me just last week she asked him to help her get off kratom, but then said she was suicidal and needed kratom the next day.
My SIL is a nurse and holds all of her mom's meds and gives them to her. MIL lives with SIL and "babysits" the kids some days. Meaning SIL has a baby camera in her livingroom to watch when she's at work in case smth happens.
I thought it wasn't too bad until we moved to their state. We bought land and planned on hiring her as our gardener so she could find some joy. She loves plants but has none. I thought if she was able to come farm with us, she would find joy in her life and wouldn't try to hide away in drugs. I shouldn't have fallen for the same hope her kids once did. They warned me.
I work at a methadone clinic and those guys are in way better shape, mentally, then she is. Maybe it's just their willingness to get better... It's so easy to get drugs where we live (like 40min-1hr away), I had a split, depressing thought after our interaction: how long will it be before she's tired of half a bottle of kratom, 3 gummies, and 5 beer bottles at once before she decides the needle might be cool?
All I had to deal with was neglectful teen parents, I wasn't prepared for this completely different feeling of abandonment. They had only told me stories of their mom from when they were kids before the divorce, before the... everything. I thought of her as a different kind of person. This is too much.

2024.06.01 00:03 useless_paperwork Im very self aware about my issues, their causes, and even how to solve some of them, but I cant seem to actually do anything about it, how do I do something?

(I posted this last year on another subreddit, but I just got one comment on it, and it wasn't much help. I'm still struggling with this a lot, and I've been feeling super lonely again. I'm 20 now and I feel so gross and useless to still be stuck on the same issue, so I wanted to try and ask for help again. Everything I wrote here is still relevant, it's just that even more stuff has happened since then and I feel even heavier every time I take a breath. Please, offer any advice you may have, I'll appreciate it greatly)
I (19f) think my main defense and coping mecanism since I was a young teen has been self awareness. Like, I always understand what the problem is, I never had an issue with pointing out my behaviours, and whenever someone acussed me of something I'd done, I started admitting stuff inmediattely. But my self awareness has always felt defensive, like I use it to say ''Dont worry, I know how shitty I am'' because I expect everybody I meet to be dissapointed about or by me.
When I was little, I lied about everything, mostly about stuff that made no sense lying about, but also to cover whatever I stuff I had done that I wasnt supossed to. As I got older I got better about lying. I think I became a very very manipulative person, and I used lying as the only way to ''protect'' myself against the world, although Im not exactly sure what I was defending against. I'd say 14 was my peak manipulative moment, still, that doesnt mean I was great at it. Looking back at myself, anyone older that highschool age would've realized what I was doing.
I feel like my actual growth as a person started since 2019, and everything since have been nothing but different seasons of trauma. Last year, we dealt with my necessity for attention and failed myself by repeating patterns. This year, were dealing with my relationship with my mom and the fact that I dont feel like a real person. (I also do this thing when I talk to myself, where I speak using ''we'' to refer to myself, I dont know anyone else who does this)
The point of this post is that these last few days I've been having sort of epiphanies¿? Im not really sure what to call them, but they're breakdown moments. A few days ago I was smoking weed and listening to music in my room and feeling very, very bored. The only reason I felt bored, is because I was lonely and alone (Wich are different, in my opinion) I really wanted to text my boyfriend or a friend or talk to someone, but I had no one to really talk to. I had already texted everybody and no one was replying. I put my phone down, and just a minute later I had the urge to pick it back up. I forced myself not to, cause I knew it'd be only to check that I still had no new messages and continue feeling like shit. I dont think I know how to exist when Im no witnessed. I dont think I know how to exist when Im not wanted. This is something I've know since years ago, I've always felt it. My drug is attention. And then, the most genuine ''I wanna off myself'' I've ever felt popped into my head. And I started going down the rabbit hole. This is what my line of though looked like (Also, this all happened whitin like 30 seconds): ¿Why cant I exis when Im alone? I wanna off myself ¿Why do I need to be witnessed in order to do stuff? I wanna off myself ¿Why do I need to perform everything I do? I wana off myself ¿Why do I need to perform everything I feel? I wanna off myself ¿Why cant I stop performing even when Im alone? I wanna off myself ¿Why cant I stop no matter how hard I try? I wanna off myself. That endend with me breaking down sobbing after coming to the realization that its just stress. I am so stressed, all the time, for no reason at all. Like a physical sensation of stress and anxiety that just doesnt go away. You know that John Mulaney special where he goes '' When I walk down the street I just need everybody to like me so bad all the time''? That is literally just my life. And I dont mean in a ''I modify my personality so that X will like me'' way. I mean that every sinlge thing I do, I do it with the people that will approve of it in mind. My hobbies, the food I eat, the clothes I wear, I think even my sleeping position cames down to that. Performance.
Is not that I dont enjoy the things I do. The hobbies I picked and the stuff I do and wear and shit its still the stuff I like. I love art and so I draw and paint and create stuf because I genuinely enjoy doing it. The clothing styles I pick are the ones I find cool and interesting and cute. I forced myself to start sleeping on my stomach cause I though that was how teens slept and I though teennagers were the coolest beings to walk the earth. But in the end, I can barely draw unless I show it to someone. My outfits arent worth it if they dont perfectly encapsule the character I've created, the only purpose of the outfit is to convey a message. And I changed my sleeping position cause I wanted to be cool like a teenager, and other teenagers wouldnt think I was cool unless I fit in. My point is that in the end is always about everyone else, its never really about me.
Today I had another one of those epiphanies. ¿Why is it that I need to be approved by every one thats ever become aware of my existence in order to survive? ¿Why do I feel like everyone hates me the minute they meet me? ¿Why cant I stand it if they hate me? If it makes me so miserable (wich it does), why cant I stop? I really really want to stop. These last few months I've felt the loneliest I've ever felt in my life. Quick backstory: In january I moved to europe, my sister has lived here for a few years now, and many stuff has happened since. I lived with an austrian family in mallorca, I made a friend who I loved and she stopped talking to me. A guy feel in love with me and I hurt him really bad and he stopped talking to me. I was homeless for a while. I got raped. I slept with a very gross guy for money. Those two were different occasions. I moved to a new place and they kicked me out within two weeks. I started smoking a lot of weed again. I still haven't made actual friends. I've meet people, I've got people to hang out with. I have no one that I can go get breakfast with and talk to about my day. My sister is closer to that, but she is still my sister. My friends back home are also closer to that, but they're obviously too far away and we dont talk that much. And I think thats how I realized what this whole thing is about, what it has always been about, since I was a small child on her first day of school.
The act, the character, the performance, the whole thing is nothing but a scream to the void. A very desesperate cry to the skies. ''Look at me! Look at all I've build, at all I've done! Im cool! Im worthy of being loved! Look at this very carefully curated personality. I put so much effort into it. Dont you think is cool? Dont you think is enough? Is it enough to make me worthy?''
I wonder how much more I need to give, how much more do I need to do, until I feel worhty of being loved on my own, not because Im cool or kind or likeable (Wich I still want to be) But because Im simply me, and that is more than enough to deserved love.
And I guess my question is: Seeing as Im obviously self aware enough to identify my issues and the traume that caused them, and Im also able to identify my own destructive patterns and behaviours, and I actively try to deal with it and improve and my day to day life, the why is it that I feel like Im not doing anything about, and that Im never gonna get better? Do you think I'll ever get better?

Here are reviews of nearly every Deconstructing Eden fragrance I’ve tried. This is one of my favorite houses. I previously posted reviews of the new spring collection which you can find here. So I won’t be including those here. Most of these appear to be LE scents and/or are no longer available but I still thought it might be helpful to post the reviews of the ones I’ve tried.
When reviewing a scent I typically write down my first impressions before checking the notes. Notes I like: most florals (lavender and rose are my favorite), woodsy smells and most woods (especially cedar and hinoki), dead leaves, dirt, petrichor, realistic fruits, patchouli, incense, spices. Notes I don’t go for: most gourmand notes (except rice), musks. I’ll try almost anything.
On to the reviews!

Lightning Seed – “Petrichor, ozone, sand, rock, a storm gathering over the desert, and Joshua tree fronds.”

This smells like a mainstream perfume! I definitely got a lot of petrichor and ozone but it also smells really clean? Like a designer perfume you’d sample from a swatch in a GQ magazine or something. Quite unisex. I liked it and finished off the sample. 7/10

Them (Pride collection) – “Pillowy lavender, soft amber, juniper, black cedar, tonka bean.”

The amber and lavender were competing for strongest note here, but ultimately blend together into a scent that’s quite unique. I don’t always like amber as a note but it’s good here. The cedar and juniper were lurking under the top notes. The lavender was of the more floral rather than herbal variety, which is fine because I don’t think an herbal lavender would have jibed with the amber that well. Unfortunately not as much sillage as I would have liked, but I wore it to bed and could still smell it when I woke up. It manages to smell calming and sexy at the same time, and does have a unisex quality to it. I ended up getting a 5ml one of these secondhand. 8/10 I can see myself wearing this a lot, however as far as DE lavender scents go I think I prefer Grainne Ni Mhaille.

Bjorn – “Clean musk, leather, stormy water, a drop of patchouli, and ripe oranges.”

WOW. WOW WOW WOW. I LOVE THIS! Smelled fresh and fruity! Definitely got a huge wave of orange and leather together initially and it’s a unique scent match that I didn’t think I would go for. There’s the tiniest bit of petrichor holding it together and I don’t get much patchouli from it. Kind of unisex I guess from the leather note? DE does unisex scents so well and I really wish I had more of this because I finished off my sample. 10/10

Cupid’s Bow – “Violet water, iris accord, sugared skin musks, bright red lipstick, and a fur stole.”

I thought this smelled kind of “cheap” unfortunately. Definitely too sweet for my taste, guess it’s the “skin musks”. I’m still not sure what lipstick is supposed to smell like either. There is a tinge of floral but not much. Wasn’t a fan unfortunately. 4/10

To a Wild Rose – “Rain covered pavement, dark green leaves, muted Mackintosh roses, and dandelions.”

This smelled so weird, like broken dandelion stems/weeds mostly. I didn’t ever pick up on a rose note, this smells more like wet/crushed stems that you’d smell from mowing a lawn. My husband said it gave him a headache. This is a weird one, if you like the smell of broken weeds then I’d recommend it. For me it was a miss, even smelled kind of gross really. 3/10

Virgo – “Dark amber, Bulgarian rose absolute, lavender maillette, orris root, benzoin, dark fruits, and bourbon vanilla.”

This also smells like a well-blended mainstream perfume. VERY amber-forward. The florals did emerge after the initial strong burst of amber. Not bad, just more amber-forward than I was expecting and a lot stronger and “darker” too. Has a sultry quality to it and smells better over time but I just wish the amber wasn’t so strong. 6/10

Mandrake House – “This blend is a golden silky musk, black roses, a few drops of patchouli, leather whips, burning incense, amber key accord, smoky oud, and mandrake flowers.”

DAMN THIS IS STRONG. Smelled musky and like a man’s cologne. I picked up on the musk, leather, and incense immediately, and thankfully the musk isn’t “funky” and stinky like most musks are to my nose. There is a smoky quality to this, definitely. The amber and a bit of the floral come out over time but this is still straight up strong cologne to me. The patchouli rounds it out as a base note. Why is this so strong? Ultimately it was way too masc for me and a scrubber. 3/10

Burning Leaves (Type O Negative collection) – “Dry autumnal leaves burning on a base of agarwood CO2.”

Yep, smells just like burning dry, dead leaves. I really like this, it reminds me of being out in the country in Arkansas in the fall when people burn their leaves/yard waste (or at least they used to when I was younger). The wood/woodsmoke note is very prominent but blends in perfectly with the dead leaf note. This would be perfect for fall (obviously) and is very rustic. I like it a lot but my husband doesn’t so I don’t know when I’ll get a chance to wear it. 8/10

Green Man (Type O Negative collection) – “Earth, moss, dark woods, rosewood, cedar, amber, agarwood, mahogany green leaves and conifer branches.”

Smells green but NOT soapy! Yay! I have tried so many woodsy green scents in oil form that come off as soapy even after a long rest so this is a welcome reprieve. The cedar and conifer are really strong when wet which gives it a slight cologne-y quality but nothing as strong as Mandrake House was. Amber is there but thankfully not super noticeable, it’s kind of the glue holding it all together. I never got much of an “earth” or dirt note unfortunately, which is a bit of a bummer since dirt is one of my favorite notes, but I think it may have overwhelmed the other notes anyway. This reads as kind of masc to me but I still love it and think it’s very wearable. My husband said he really liked this one but that it smelled like it had patchouli in it. 8.5/10

Driving at Midnight (High Desert edition) – “Desert air carrying the scent of succulents, Joshua trees, and dry summer grasses over cooling asphalt.”

This is hands-down one of my favorite indie fragrances EVER. I get mostly aloe and the asphalt note, it’s very unique. It has an airy quality to it as well. I actually had to try this twice before I really got into it, it’s a complex scent and a good atmospheric. 10/10

Grainne Ni Mhaille (Dangerous Women collection) – “Heather and moss, stormy sea water, driftwood and a fougere accord composed of oakmoss, lavender, and tonka bean.”

This smells great! My husband said this was his favorite perfume I’ve worn. Interesting and pleasant combo of lavender, moss and petrichor. The petrichor does have a “murky” quality but isn’t salty. It smells airy and the lavender is slightly more herbal than floral. This is pretty strong too, with moderate throw. A quite relaxing and peaceful fragrance that would make a great sleep scent. 9/10

Lucrezia Borgia (Dangerous Women collection) - "Clementine, red mandarin, Italian lemon, ambergris, vanilla, patchouli, and orange blossom on a resinous bed of labdanum."

Citrus, citus, and more citrus! Mostly orange of course with two orange fruit notes and the orange blossom. This is sultry where Serotonin from the same house ("Bergamot, black tea, rose, lavender, vanilla, pink grapefruit") was bright and cheerful. It's the patchouli and resinous notes grounding it. On the drydown it reminds me a bit of Fantôme - Lyudmila ("Ruby red grapefruit, jasmine sambac, rich vanilla, hinoki, a drop of dark dragon's blood, bitter orange, and a sprig of rosemary") with the citrus and resin combo. There's not much vanilla in here to my nose. I think this is a great fragrance but not sure if it's my vibe? 7/10

Catherine de' Medici (Dangerous Women collection) - "Oakmoss, precious woods, spices and cinnamon in the base. Ripe peaches, jasmine sambac and roses in the heart and top notes of very understated citrus and bergamot."

Wow, I'm being bombarded with so many notes at once. I'm getting the spices and cinnamon first with an underlying peach note. It's like a spiced peach, then the rose and jasmine notes poke through but the spices/cinnamon are still going strong. I don't usually go for cinnamon as a note because my skin tends to amp cinnamon which obscures the other notes, but that's not happening here. The peach fades in the drydown and the bergamot peeks through a bit. Dries down to mostly woods and a touch of oakmoss with an afterglow of florals. This is really well-blended! 8/10

Lucky Peach – “Sleek black leather, blood red lipstick, clove spiked tobacco, rocket fuel, and ripe peaches.”

Very interesting scent! Has a really strong peach note when wet that doesn’t read as synthetic at all that recedes (but not fully) to reveal a leather note. It’s not super strong as a fragrance like some of the other DE fragrances I’ve tried but is definitely interesting. I love DE’s realistic peach note. The tobacco comes out on the drydown. I’d like this more if it had more throw. 7/10

Sleeping with Ghosts – “White sheets, skin musk, moonflower, Mysore sandalwood, confederate jasmine, wisteria, lilies, Nashi pear, white tea, Copaiba balsam.”

This is a lovely soft floral scent that is well-blended, again, hard to pick out a single floral note, though it does smell like white florals. I didn’t get much of a tea note but the pear note did pull through. I fell asleep peacefully wearing this and it mostly feels like a bedtime scent but I could see myself wearing this during the day. Though it has a musk note, it’s not “funky”. 9/10

364 Days (Valentine’s ‘23) – “Moonflower, heliotrope, sunflower, white violet, white sandalwood, daisies, orchid.”

This is a nice airy floral! Smells peaceful like it would make a great sleep scent. Again, well-blended. I can’t point to any specific floral note in this, they all kind of synergize into something more than the sum of its parts. I can see myself wearing this a lot. Unfortunately not super strong sillage and doesn’t last that long. 8/10

Charm (Valentine’s ‘23) – “White violets, living peach, white amber, palo santo, and citrus-kissed lavender.”

Smelled sweeter than I expected, guess my skin amps the peach note. I got this mainly for the palo santo and lavender notes, but I can’t pick up on any palo santo in this. I didn’t expect it to be so peach-dominant. It’s almost like a one-note peach to me. 6/10

Shiva the Destroyer (Deities collection) – “Fragrant woods, frankincense, myrrh, rose attar, and living peach.”

This smells great! The rose attar is the strongest note. In general this smells very incense-y though incense isn’t a listed note, I guess it’s the frankincense and myrrh which are traditionally religious offerings. Smells a bit like what I would imagine a Hindu temple to smell inside, though I’ve been to one and it smelled more like typical satya nag champa incense). In any case, LOVE. 8/10

Lakshmi (Deities collection) – “Deep, velvety red roses, two different types of amber, a touch of Sambac jasmine, and creamy Mysore sandalwood.”

Smells really strong (and pleasantly) of rose at first but leans a tinge powdery, not in a bad way though. Then the jasmine comes out and takes it from there as the rose recedes, but then the amber starts to overpower the other notes. Dries down to a very ambery sandalwood. I liked this until the drydown. 5/10

Moon Over Seoul – “River water, moonlight, cool stone, Mugunghwa (Rose of Sharon) blooms.”

This is a nice aquatic floral with a floral note I didn't recognize. I googled Mugunghwa and turns out it's a variety of hibiscus and the national flower of South Korea! It's slightly sweet but not too much so. I love it. There is a "cool stone" note but it isn't metallic or harsh or synthetic smelling, it really does smell like wet stone. This never gets powdery like some floral perfumes. I like this a lot. I knew I would so I bought a larger size of it secondhand from someone's destash before I even tested this sample, lol. 8/10

Serotonin – “Bergamot, black tea, rose, lavender, vanilla, pink grapefruit.”

Wow, this really packs a punch! Very strong wave of citrus on the first whiff, and it’s mainly grapefruit. I love grapefruit in fragrances when it doesn’t completely obscure other notes and here the citrus chills out somewhat and I get the black tea with some floral undertones. This is a very cheerful, aptly named perfume! There is the tiniest tinge of vanilla. My only gripe is that I wish the florals, particularly the lavender, were a bit stronger. 8/10

Lena – “Blended for a dear friend – dew covered pink and purple lilacs, willow leaves floating on a gentle breeze and soft blue sky on a bed of barely-there white musk.”

Definitely smells mostly like lilacs but it’s also a tinge sweet, not in a cloying way though. I guess lilacs are just sweeter smelling than I thought. I don’t get much musk from this, fortunately. It’s nice! Sort of one-note lilac almost though. I like it and would recommend to any lilac lover. 7/10

Adam – “Cedar, balsam, warm skin musks, teak, bergamot, coriander, pepper, tonka bean, and earth.”

Very cedar and pepper-forward. My sister said it smelled kind of sweet but I didn’t get any sweetness from it. I like it but it’s a bit too “perfumey” if that makes any sense? Has a unisex feel to it. Woodsy and herbal I guess? Ultimately I like it enough to finish off the sample. 7/10

Gentian House – “Frankincense and myrrh, opium smoke, gentian violets, a very smooth vetiver accord that I blended myself and french lavender, along with a whisp of smoke.”

Initially this smelled like some kind of disinfectant spray like the stuff you’d spray inside of a diaper pail to keep it from stinking. I get how this is supposed to smell like violets and smoke but the smoke is acrid and obscures the floral notes rather than blending in. A scrubbed, unfortunately. 2/10

Love You to Death - "Beeswax candles, a drop of sweat, spilled wine and smoke, oud, black agar, a creamy patchouli, myrrh, green berries, citrus peel and spice, smoke and beeswax."

I was getting mostly beeswax and smoke initially. It smells pretty interesting at first! I like beeswax and can jibe with smoke when it's done properly and doesn't drown out other notes, and it isn't doing that here. Then the patchouli, oud and agar pull forward. I get a touch of something spicy but no citrus. This is just ok, a lot different from the other DE perfumes I've tried but it isn't wowing me. 6/10

I Was Dreaming When I Wrote This – “Silk sheets, blackened amber, violets, Bulgarian lavender, candlewax, and wine.”

Smells mostly like lavender and beeswax to me! I get the violets a bit too. This would make a great sleep scent. I’m not sure that it smells like silk sheets but there’s a scent in this that evokes the feeling of bedsheets anyway. Not a lot of amber to my nose thankfully and if there was a wine note I didn’t notice this. 9/10

Mixtape: Modern Love – “Slick leather, tobacco leaf, tonka butter, black oud, cannabis accord, worn denim, labdanum.”

This also smells almost like a mainstream perfume. There’s something in this that almost smells fruity at first though there’s no fruit. Hard to pick out individual notes because it’s incredibly well blended. The notes that stand out the most are the leather and a cotton scent from the worn denim. The tobacco leaf is noticeable on the drydown. This has a lovely unisex quality to it. 10/10 I full-sized this one!

Mixtape: Are You Gonna Go My Way – “Alder and ash wood, steel strings, patchouli, dark amber, vetiver accord, blue jeans.”

My first impressions are something floral and something a bit musky. Then looking at the notes, I noticed there’s no floral, I am getting the woods, patchouli and amber though. Just like with Modern Love, I had difficulty picking out individual notes. I do get a cotton scent from this one as well. It’s a bit similar to Modern Love but not as “fresh” smelling. The vetiver and patchouli are most apparent in the drydown. I liked this a lot but only wanted to full-size one of the Valentine’s scents so I went with Modern Love instead. 8/10

Cherish – “Neroli blossoms, living peaches, honey, sweet mandarin, honeysuckle nectar, nectarine blossoms, sunflowers, osmanthus, and the barest drop of bourbon vanilla.”

Smelled fruity and floral, mostly like a realistic peach. I could pick up on the tiniest bit of vanilla lurking underneath everything. The honeysuckle in particular vibes well wih the peach note. Not too much citrus from the mandarin, this is mostly peach. I really love DE’s peach note and if you’re looking for a peach-heavy fragrance I highly recommend this one. Amazing scent and STRONG too! 7.5/10

Botany of Desire No. 312 – “Borage, nasturium, pansies, violet, calendula, rosewater, and pomegranate molasses.”

I smelled something that I thought was blueberries but it turned out to be the pomegranate molasses. I did get a tinge of rosewater and violet is the strongest floral note here. This is really nice! It smells bluish/purplish. 8/10

Botany of Desire No. 481 – “Vanilla, rose, lavender, saffron, mango.”

Smells fresh and floral. Good throw too. I didn’t detect much vanilla but definitely the lavender and rose and once again it’s well-blended so hard to focus on individual notes. The mango wasn’t really that noticeable to me, and the saffron isn’t that spicy. It’s mostly just straight up floral, and I’m a fan of florals, so I’m a fan of this. 7.5/10

Valentine ‘24 – “Chocolate-covered strawberries, velvety red roses, sultry amber, beeswax candles, and silk sheets.”

This smells really juvenile to me like something a teenage girl would wear. I’m not really a gourmand person so I knew I probably wouldn’t go for this anyway, but the strawberry note is very synthetic to my nose. The rose note is nice and almost obscures the fake strawberry but not quite. And like I said I’m iffy about amber. This was a freebie that came with my Valentine’s order but I definitely wouldn’t have picked this out for myself. I get what they were going for, but respectively, NO. 2/10

2024.05.31 23:06 Crippl3dcapta1n Advice on land prep for next year

As the title says I want to farm this small plot of land next year. It already has a small garden on the far left side that belongs to my neighbour.
It’s mostly wild grasses, dandelions and other weeds. I’m assuming that the land is bacterial dominant so I’d need to get some fungal microbial life in there.
I was thinking on doing multiple ‘’chop and drops’’ throughout the season Applying JMS weekly over the mulch layer of organic matter that was cut ideally a day before it rains so it penetrates deep
Ideally I was also thinking on collecting various imo’s and at least bringing them to IMO2 for long term storage.
That being said could I add some IM02 to my JMS before application to diversify the microbiome instead of having to bring them to #4 Would you get an overall better result than just leaf mold JMS ?
Last thing is tilling, I know it isn’t ideal but was thinking of a one and done scenario where I would till it next spring, and then continue applying a mulch layer, JMS and Bringing My IMO’s to #4. Then apply piles once I’ve gotten my soil test results and amended / brought mineral balance back to my soil
Any advice would really be appreciated. I’m just wondering how some of y’all would proceed with all this.

2024.05.31 22:54 Optimist_Prime66 My wife is constantly picking fights with me over trivial things

My wife (25f) and I (28M) have been married for two years. She is drop dead gorgeous, and most of the time, she is really fun to be around. She really loves me, and I love her. Sometimes her love borders on obsession, and pushes her into manic states. She is always telling me how much she cares about me, and telling me she is desperate for my approval.
She is an anxious and somewhat insecure person. She will be the first to admit this, and no matter how much I build her up, it doesn’t really help her feel better. It’s not that I’d expect my support to fix all her self confidence problems, but I just wish it would help her in some way.
In recent months, it seems like there will reliably be at least one fight over a trivial matter every weekend. Sometimes it happens several times in a day. If we are together in the morning, then there is probably going to be a fight. I know she doesn’t plan to meet an “argument quota” intentionally, but it’s getting to a point where I am becoming more apathetic, because the fights are just so frequent, so trivial, and so predictably pointless. I really hate fighting, and this is hell for me.
FOR EXAMPLE—Last weekend, we were leaving our apartment to go hiking, and at the very last second before our departure, I ran back into the apartment to grab my kratom pills. She shut down and didn’t talk to me for about an hour after that. I finally got her to tell me what was wrong—she was offended that I didn’t offer to grab her some of my kratom pills when I went back inside. I apologized, saying that she was right and I should’ve been more considerate, but she continued stonewalling me throughout the hike. On the drive home, she broke down and apologized and said she didn’t know why she treated me like this. This was sandwiched between two other fights that same day, mind you.
ANOTHER EXAMPLE—Today, she got upset with me because I reminded her that it’s the last day to submit the DMV registration for her car. I told her about this deadline three weeks ago, and she didn’t do anything about it. Today, she was mad that I didn’t remind her sooner. I told her I could take care of it for her today, because I know she’s busy. Then we found out that it only costs $6 to extend the deadline to tomorrow. I told her I thought we should do that instead, because I think she should take care of it, since it’s her responsibility. She said that I shouldn’t offer to do it, then take that offer away. I told I think she needs to handle it, because she is an adult and this is what adults do. This devolved into a yelling match. Again, she apologized for all this within a few hours. I apologized for my harsh words too.
I have so many stories like this—“Why didn’t you walk the dog yet?” (I do every night, maybe you could take care of it tonight?) “I heard you waking up in the bedroom this morning. Why didn’t you want to come talk to me when you woke up?” (I was maybe rustling around but wasn’t really awake yet?) etc.
Just about every argument nowadays devolves into her crying and telling me that my opinion is EVERYTHING to her, and saying that she is literally debilitated by how she feels so judged by me. If I have any critique of her behavior, she will say, ”This doesn’t sound like something you would say about someone you love. Why don’t you just divorce me?”
We have a decent sex life, but she constantly stresses about whether or not I am attracted to her. The irony is that her picking all these fights has definitely made me less attracted to her, and low key, kind of scared of her. Despite my best efforts, I can literally never anticipate when a fight is around the corner, so I am either on edge, or just exhausted/apathetic.
She feels like I am a better person than her, despite me telling her that’s not true. I have tried soooo hard to make her feel like I am not judging her. I tell her so often how I’m proud to be with her, and I’m proud of how hard she works, and how she is beautiful, and how she is highly likable, smart, funny, etc.
I am not a fighter AT ALL, I am a golden retriever type, I am very attentive to her moods, and I go out of my way to compliment and reassure her VERY frequently.
I should probably mention that she is a frequent vaper—she hits her weed pen a lot. I’ve noticed that this makes her more anxious and insecure. I’ve tried to gently confront her about this, and she admits that I’m right, but she still continues to hit the pen more and more every day. I know that thing is addictive, but it’s just hard to work with.
She also REALLY wants to be a mother. We agreed we would eventually have kids when we got married. We can’t afford to do that right now, and she acknowledges that, but we are working towards it… the problem is that I am now having serious doubts about us being able to have a healthy household to raise a kid in. I have slowly become more and more jaded about the idea of having kids. And if I’m being honest, it’s partly due to poor way she treats me at times.
Idk who’s read all this, but I just need help. I love this girl most of the time, but these outbursts are so frequent nowadays, and I am losing my mind.
I am now having recurring dreams, just about 3 times a week, where she is chewing me out. I mentioned one of these dreams to her about a week ago, and she immediately deflated. She said she knows she is too hard on me, she knows she picks fights over trivial matters, but she just doesn’t know how to be better. She was raised by two parents who are constantly at odds, and publicly fighting with each other, and that’s obviously the biggest example of a husband/wife relationship she’s had in her life.
I know I am not perfect in all this. I have been reactionary, I have lost my cool and said things that I regret. I am also incredibly passive. I literally never want to fight with her, even though I know occasional fighting is healthy in a relationship.
I cannot believe I am saying this, but I am beginning to think that we need to divorce, because I feel like I am being walked over. The relationship has become sour in such a short period of time. We have too much baggage with each other. We are both building resentment for each other, expecting the worst of each other, and my goals regarding children with her have started to change. I love her but I am so exhausted. 😓
Any advice is appreciated.
