2024.05.15 22:26 ZenotheFlow Looking for apartment complex recommendations in Midtown/Westside/Buckhead or Ponce area. Safe enough for kids and close enough to social hubs/areas.

Hey all,
Potentially moving to ATL area for work. Looking to keep the apartment budget between $1,500-$2,000 for a 1bd/1br or 2bd/1br. From what I'm seeing online at apartments.com that sounds reasonable? Lemme know for the areas I'm looking into.
I will have 50/50 custody of my toddler daughter and need an apartment complex well kept and safe enough to feel comfortable bringing her in. Ideally near safe parks if that's an option. The other 50% of my time I'd really like to make new friends and see what the city has to offer, so I'd like to be close enough to pockets of social areas with bars, restaurants, festivals, and a solid gym if possible. I've heard/read Buckhead is kinda whitewashed? I'm indigenous so I can hang if it's not super bad. I like art & museums, hippie boho farmer's markets and things like that, too.
The areas in the title are what I think would be solid locations based on what I'm looking for. Feel free to add any more but really looking for exact apt complex recommendations as places look nice on apartments.com then the Google Reviews reveal some rank stuff.
Thank you all.

2024.05.12 01:26 beachblonde1 Seeking Advice from Midtown Atlanta Locals: Searching for the Perfect Sanctuary

🏙️ Hey Midtown Atlanta locals! 🍑 I’m a New Yorker relocating to your vibrant city and seeking some advice on where to plant my roots. I’m all about that city life vibe – walking distance to bars, coffee shops, shops, and groceries is a must! Plus, I love to jog in the park, so easy access to green spaces is important too. But here’s the catch – while I want to be close to the action, I also crave some peace and quiet. I’m looking for a cozy building with a community of young professionals and families, not the rowdy scene.
I’m eyeing a few apartments like Alexan on 8th, The Registry on the Park, 77 12th, and Azure on the Park in Midtown, as well as options like The Huntley Luxury Apartments, Tower on Piedmont, Hanover Buckhead Village, The Charles, and The Residence Buckhead Atlanta. So far Alexan on 8th is my favorite.
Wants: - Floor to ceiling windows - Balcony - High floor with beautiful unobstructed views, preferably of the sunset - Great amenities like a pool and gym - Modern, upgraded style - Preferably newer buildings
If you have any insights or recommendations, please share! Mid-30s, enjoy exploring restaurants and bars but cherish the idea of a peaceful sanctuary to call home. Thanks in advance for your help!!!! 🏡🌆

2024.05.01 17:27 PaleCommunication319 WHICH JOB PAYS MORE

So these 2 jobs are a barback position in a hotel as the only barback dealing with 2 bars. The pay is 10hr and 3% of beverage sales at both bars. This is at a 4 star hotel at IHG. The next job is a server assistant position at a 5 star hotel in Buckhead, Georgia as the other one. The restaurant is a 4.5 star and fine dining with a 100 dollars spent per person. I would get 10hr and tip outs there, which i figure would be great given how expensive it is there and all. the barback is more full time so 5 days 3:30-11. Which job would average more pay and what around do you believe. Also the server assistant position restaurant is called The Americano and the hotel is called the Intercontinental. PLEASE HELP I AM STRESSED.

2024.05.01 17:15 PaleCommunication319 WHICH JOB OFFER, PLEASE HELP ME

I have 2 job offers in the food industry. They are at the same large hotel company called IHG. A leading hotel group throughout the US. One of the jobs is as a bar back for one of the hotels in the Buckhead location. There are 2 bars there including the lobby bar which is a 10 seater and the restaurant bar which is 7. My pay there would be 10hr plus 3% of beverage sales from BOTH bars that day i worked. I’ve asked what I could expect my to be from them and they obviously said “it varies” and have not given me an answer. The other job which is a server assistant position at a WONDERFUL hotel and restaurant eastblisnment. The area is in downtown buckhead called the Intercontinental and the restaurant called the Americano. 5 star hotel and 4.5 star restaurant with 4 dollar signs on it. The average user alone spends $100. So there’s no telling what the servers will make. At that position I make 10 a hour plus tip outs. At the time of the interview I had no job so didn’t ask many questions regarding the pay at least. I don’t really have interest in the bar area but I need and want to make good money consistently while in school. The server assistant position can obviously give me great training and depth into fine dining so i could maybe leave there and become a excellent server well prepared somewhere else or the goal which would be to become a server there. The barback position is full time ,3:30-11 this would be with school when the time comes. The server assistant position it was really flexible as I said i can work full time this summer and she said I can go part time in the fall to focus on school. What position/job sounds the most beneficial to me from the information given? Also, i’m really curious on what my pay as the barback could range to weekly as it’s 5 days a week and around those hours I gave.

2024.04.25 00:17 gonowls Living Recommendations

Living Recommendations?
Hi, I’ll be moving to Atlanta in the next few months and am looking for recommendations as far as places to live.
I’m a social male in my mid twenties, so I was thinking about living in Midtown. However, the cheapest rent seems at least $2k a month for a small apartment so I’m seeing if there are better options.
I hear Virginia-Highland and Old Fourth Ward are good spots to live. I was advised not to live in Buckhead since it’s spread out and walkability isn’t great.
Ideally I’m looking for a relatively safe area where I can walk from bar to bar if I feel going going out for drinks on a Friday.
Any help is appreciated!

Southwest T, Big Meech and Wolf + Lil Meech and Wolf’s son
Southwest T, Big Meech and Anthony “Wolf” Jones, 2003.
Origin: The Bronx (Valley Mob) • Detroit
Setting: N/A
The second photo is Big Meech and Wolf’s sons in 2015.
Wolf is known for his relationship with Diddy, holding him down in the peak of the Bad Boy era. Through Diddy, he became acquainted with Big Meech, with Diddy often employing BMF members for security while in the South.
A violent incident unfolded one evening in 2003 at Atlanta’s Club Chaos. Wolf and his close associate Riz got into a heated dispute after seeing Wolf’s ex-girlfriend with Meech and his BMF entourage. Wolf was thrown out of the club, a scene witnessed by many. Later that night, as Meech and his bodyguard Bull were leaving for the parking lot, they encountered Wolf and Riz. The confrontation escalated, resulting in Meech being shot and the deaths of Wolf and Riz. Although Meech and Bull were initially charged with the murders, the charges were eventually dropped due to a lack of proof of intent.
This shooting was notably high-profile, marking a significant moment in Atlanta’s history, as violence was already prevalent. The acquittal of BMF members intensified police scrutiny on BMF. It also heightened public fear, contributing to increased tension in the streets and a transformation in the nightclub landscape of Atlanta. This incident, alongside the alleged stabbing involving Ray Lewis in Buckhead, led city officials to enforce a 2:30am curfew on bars and clubs in Fulton County.
The repercussions of the 2003 shooting continued to affect Meech. When he sought compassionate release during the Covid-19 pandemic, similar to his brother Terry, the U.S. Attorney’s Office cited this incident as a reason to oppose his release, indicating its lasting impact on his legal challenges. Some feel if it wasn’t for that incident, Meech would have been out years ago.
