I got my first job offer at a charter school. It’s an hour drive through Los Angeles and it might be more coming back home. It’s a Physical Education position and the school has only a small turf area and four basketball backboards. So I’m somewhat limited in my areas. I would be in charge of 60+ students, grades 5, 6, 7, 8, with the help of an aid.
I like the staff, expectations, and school culture but some of the other factors make me kinda iffy.
My mentor teacher and a couple of my friends who are first year PE teachers says that a job in hand is a job in hand, but my supervisor says to listen to my gut feeling and to not sell myself short and it’s okay to not want your first offer.
My question is what do I prioritize on my list of factors that will help me decide. Is it the commute? The available facilities? The school culture/expectations?
Additionally this past week I did three job interviews. So I am still waiting on their decisions as well. I guess I feel guilty or that I might regret not taking the offer because I want other ones. Any advice would be appreciated.

We want to be able to help serve the struggling homeless community in Albuquerque. According to the most recent counts, there are over 2,394 people experiencing homeless in this city.

Hey so I’m thinking about going to an event at 1720 next month; I’m doing something earlier that evening around the same area and I know I’ll probably want to stay out later. The event starts at 9pm but I won’t be able to make it there until 11pm or possibly closer to 12am. The Etix page says the show is 9pm-2am but, in my experience, venues will sometimes just stop selling alcohol at 2am and then stay open for another hour or two when it’s a rave-like show (which this is). So, wondering if shows at 1720 ever go past 2am?
Also, does anyone know if I’ll have trouble getting into the venue a couple hours after the show starts if I’ve bought a ticket in advance ? Like, will there still be someone to take my ticket between 11pm-12am?

I figure, even if it ends right at 2am, I’ll be able to enjoy it for at least two hours if they’ll still let me in. But would be cool if it went a little later. Hey, 28 female in Los Angeles. ( because of the weather) I have a few plants outside my window. Mostly chiles and tomatoes, I noticed them getting a lot of spider webs. I take them Off daily but it’s gotten obsessive. How can I get rid of flies and spiders? Also I started to see some little black bugs on them. My plants are healthy I just don’t want them to get damaged soon.

I got an unexpected charge on my credit card from a parking company. The funny thing is, I was hit in an accident three weeks ago, so my car has been in the shop and I haven’t driven it or parked any car anywhere in the last three weeks, so this certainly stood out.
I contacted the parking company and the license plate they have just charged for parking this past week is my previous leased car that I turned in to the dealer in 2023. While it wasn’t too hefty of a charge (about 13$), when I let them know this was a mistake, and I was no longer responsible for this car, and didn’t want this to be a repeated thing- they demanded that I provide them proof of my end of lease contract before they would consider refunding the charges. Again… 13$- (not days on end of parking or thousands of dollars). Ok, fine.
I had to contact the dealer to get the end of lease document, which they were super helpful with (thanks, Lexus Santa Monica). But then, when I provided the document to her, she responded that she would refund the money, but that it was my responsibility to have notified the parking company that I no longer was responsible for the car when I turned it in 2023.
Is this a thing in Los Angeles? Are we supposed to keep track of which day to day or hourly parking companies our cars have parked in? (Lolz) I don’t understand how a parking company can place an unapproved charge on a card, when it’s not a monthly account or regular contract? Apparently I’ve only parked twice with that company, the last time was in 2021. I have zero recollection of giving anyone authorization for repeat charges on my credit card for future parking. I have no clue how many bazillion parking lots I’ve parked in in the last five years…
