I haven’t gone to Lush since the Boxing Day sale so I mostly just stocked up on some tried and true faves. Can you tell I’m a sleepy fan 😅

Why are there so few Old(er) Women as Playable Characters in JRPG Video Games?
When I watched the YouTube Video Essay "A Brief Look at the Structure of the Classic JRPG Party" (18.05.2017) by Liam Carter, I noticed that older playable female characters are very rare compared to playable middle-aged or older male characters.
A Brief Look at the Structure of the Classic JRPG Party\" (18.05.2017) by Liam Carter
Examples of games where older, mature looking playable female characters with wrinkles don't exist :
  • Romancing Saga
  • Chrono Trigger
  • Dragon Quest
  • Final Fantasy
  • Suikoden IV
  • Valkyrie Profile
  • Tales of Berseria
  • Xenogears
  • Xenosaga
  • Xenoblade Chronicle X
  • Granblue Fantasy
  • Persona
  • Mother 3
  • Deltora Quest: The Seven Gems

Mature Old Female Video Game Characters that I found so far:
  • Suikoden I - Hellion
  • Suikoden V - Raja
  • Chrono Cross - Macha (Age 38)
  • Etrian Odyssey 5 - Female Rover Grandma
  • Fire Emblem VI - Niime
  • Valkyria Chronicles 3 - Gloria Durrell (Age 62)
  • Triangle Strategy - Grandma Groma
  • Dragon Age Origins - Wynne
  • Sonja Blade - Mortal Kombat X
  • Overwatch - Ana
  • Returnal - Selene Vassos
  • Astria Ascending - Alassia
Playable Female Human Characters over the age of 30:
  • Edea - Final Fantasy 8 (Presumed to be in her 30s or 40s)
  • Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 - Brigid/Eyvel (Age 35)
  • Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn - Titania (Age 33)
  • Grania III - Miranda (34 Year Old Mother of the Game Hero Protagonist)
  • Last Remnant - Emma (Age 41)
Suikoden I - Hellion
Suikoden V - Raja
Chrono Cross - Macha (Age 38)
Fire Emblem VI - Niime
Etrian Odyssey 5 - Female Rover Grandma
Valkyria Chronicles 3 - Gloria Durrell (Age 62)
Triangle Strategy - Grandma Groma
Dragon Age Origins - Wynne
Astria Ascending - Alassia
'Old' Female Video Game Characters who don't really count:
  • Camellia - Arc The Lad: Twilight of the Spirits
  • Presea Combatir - Tales of Symphonia
  • Raine - Tales of Symphonia
  • Lailah - Tales of Zestiria
  • Edna - Tales of Zestiria
  • Magilou Mayvin - Tales of Berseria
  • Anna & Nina Williams - Tekken
  • Unei - FFIII
  • Beatrix - FFIX
  • Lulu - FFX
  • Fran - FFXII
  • Fang - FFXIII
  • Fina - FFBE
  • Katalina - Grandblue Fantasy
  • Viki - Suikoden
  • Jeane - Suikoden
  • Junno - Binding Blade
  • Morrigan - Cross Edge
  • Rose - Legend of Dragoon
  • Shurelia - Ar Tonelico
  • Myuria - Star Ocean 4
  • Ming Numara - Lost Odyssey
  • Baiken - Guilty Gear
  • Murata Himeko - Houkai Impact 3rd
  • Lacrimosa Dana - YS VIII
  • Nyx - Fire Emblem Fates

It's rare to see Adult Female Video Game Characters over the age of 30 who don't look like oversexualized (Loli) Teens or Dolls. And you don't see that much Badass Grandma Characters in many Video Games, not just in (J)RPG......
Maybe you know any non-sexualized mature looking female video game characters (women of a certain age and who also look their age).

I don’t know if any of you are tabletop gamers or 3d printerfolk, but…
Sir Nicholas Miniatures has a fun theme this month. If its not unwelcome I might post other positive tabletop stuff coming out.
"Oakheart Glade is refuge for the misunderstood and misbehaved. It is no surprise then that all manner of witches and sorcerers have taken root in that land of twilight. Mairin was one such refuge, from where none can say. In the Glade she sought solace from the ache of loss. But instead, Mairin eventually found solace in inflicting that ache on others."
"Ghouls are a simple fact of life. All lands deal with them differently. Glassia roots them out from their burrows in a longstanding war. Old Boleria and Veilwood send large contingents to deal with the ghouls every night. The Peaks hide within their unassailable fortresses. But in Oakheart Glade, the ghouls are a welcome sight, their wills shackled to the witches. So it is that the ghouls form the first line of defense in the land of twilight."
"There are many powerful practitioners of sorcery. The likes of Telind Marh and Rav are so gifted in the art that there are none that could compare, except perhaps the goddess Fina. But the creature who knows the most about sorcery is without a doubt Od'Seresh. Born of mud and clay, far before the likes of the gods even set foot upon the world, Od'Seresh has hoarded every scrap of knowledge on sorcery since its conception. No wonder that it makes its home in Oakheart Glade."

2021.12.28 10:21 jst4reddit Wahai Monyets, what are your go-to dating/lepak plans for KL?

TLDR Lets make a super list of things to do in KL, what would you include?
Hello friends
Recently I've read, heard and seen the plights of monyets in trying to find interesting things to do in the Greater Klang Valley (and by extension an hour drive out of KL), and I thought well maybe it's time we made a super list of things to do and see especially considering the disturbances in our lives over the past two years. [Note: We should eventually do all the cities in Malaysia, I just happen to live in KL so it's what I started with]
So drop by your suggestions, local haunts, interesting but unexpected things, or anything at all really to give your fellow monyets or tourists some inspiration or a master cheat sheet of the many interesting things in KL's backyard! Then I'll compose it into some incomprehensible wall of text with some pictures, maybe even subheadings. I'll start with some of the things I've seen people do over the weeks- this list is by no means exhaustive nor constructed in particular order
But do mention stuff like if you've attended those sip and paint events, pottery classes, went to Aquaria and so on! Lets make a super list!
PS: I'm not including food as that is it's own article, but hey if there's anything in particular you want to recommend go for it
Hiking
Skywalk FRIM (siraplimau.com)
Price - Free to RM20ish (Like the Skywalk at FRIM)
Locations - There are a few trails like Bukit Gasing, KL Forest Eco Park, Bukit Sri Bintang, FRIM and etc. More trails like Bukit Fraser, Japanese Village and Broga open up about an hours drive from KL.
Time - 2-5 hours depending on the trail
Hiking is an activity many people enjoy. There's something about walking in nature and getting to know the wondrous fauna of Malaysia that intrigues people. At the end of it, there's always a fantastic view, a milestone to mark the apex of your journey; a reward to those who endured the humidity of the jungle and the trail. There's also that oh so fresh air, and truly this is just one of those things that can be difficult to properly find elsewhere.
Depending on the trail your experience may vary but definitely if you enjoy the outdoors hiking is something you can ideally do once a month, rotating between the different trails that we have. It's also one that you can get to know a person as you walk, as everybody acts slightly differently when faced with the jungle. Just don't forget to bring a lot of water, and maybe a tarp if you feel inclined to lie down for whatever reason wherever you find space.
The Caveat - You really want to be doing this in the early morning to catch the sunrise. Doing this to catch the sunset is something to definitely think about as the sun wanes, leaving you on a very dark path. Also depending on the trail and person not everyone likes the jungle. It's hot and humid in Malaysia and the jungle even more so. Nature lovers will find plenty to love about hikes, but there are also a lot of people who will frown very heavily at the thought of walking up and down for 1-2 hours.
Walking in KL
Jln Alor Street Art (jeonestop.blogspot.com)
Price - Your physical state but otherwise free
Locations - You want to cover the River of Life, Pasar Seni, Petaling Street REXKL, GMBB and maybe end over at Jalan Alo Changkat for dinnedrinks.
Time - 1-2 hours just for the walk
Well if hiking in the jungle with fresh air isn't your thing perhaps walking the dusty streets of KL amidst the crowd is more your speed. Why walk in KL? Have you tried finding parking? It's outrageous, you're really encouraged to just spend your time in one location which is not adventurous to say the least. If you're doing this I recommend learning more about the history of Kuala Lumpur and being able to point out the different spots of historic insignificance, where to take those pictures of the street art and so on. Enjoy bumping into the varied sweaty crowds that throng the sidewalks and whatever you do, make sure you don't start in the afternoon.
Depending on your timing you will probably bump into some of the many arts events happening around KL, especially in GMBB and REXKL. You may even want to detour to KL Tower to catch the Sunset. Just remember walking to KL Tower there is a free shuttle bus that takes you up the hill (I thought you had to walk up). It's a safe activity that is as interesting as your knowledge of KL is and is a great way to get to know the city and to reenact "Hey I'm walkin' here!" while almost getting crushed by traffic.
Meeting at the Park
Titiwangsa Lake View @ Night (astroawani)
Price - Free I guess? More for amenities you bring yourself.
Locations - Eh apa-apa taman dekat rumah je
Time - 1-3 hours at best
Spontaneity and randomness go well hand in hand. Depending on the park you pick (Desa Park City is fantastic and the park at Taman Maluri is sus af), you can have a great or meh time. Usually you go to the park to jog and bersenam, maybe enjoy the sunrise if you're a morning person or waning sun in the evening.
Where it gets interesting is when we borrow from karat behavior, namely bringing some food, drinks and glasses at the twilight of the night. This activity is absolutely terrible as a group but it becomes very intimate when in a pair or three. As long as you don't do the karat thing of throwing your rubbish anywhere anyhow and accompany it with long pants or a ninja mosquito coil, it can be just the right off the cuff random thing to do (especially when you've really not given it much thought). It's also a very interesting experience to walk in the dark, but frankly not many people want that kind of adventure for obvious reasons.
Noteworthy Parks I know of-
Desa Park City (Much amaze)
Kelana Jaya Park (There's a cool maze much wow)
Titiwangsa Park (Beautiful scenic views)
KLCC Park (Great for a walk, hell plan it so you pass by Saloma Bridge at night)
The Caveat - Boy are you in for a rough time if you are paranoid or you pick the wrong park. You want to know the area/park well enough where you know where in the park to go and where you will disturb no one with privacy. This goes double for safety first. This activity is best when you know where you are but you just don't really have other options or you need a capper to the night.
Seeing the KL Skyline (Best Planned with the Sunset)

View from KLCC (lifeaftergraduatemalaysia.blogspot)
Price - RM28 for KLCC, KL Tower is RM45, Places like Nobu, Helipad Lounge and Marini's can cost RM100+(emphasis on plus), Places like CIMB Tower or going to an office building? Priceless (Free because you need a friend willing to get you in there). Airbnb can go from RM250+ for some of the great staycation locations.
Locations - KL, but a special shoutout to Lookout Point Ampang (Legitimately very nice, not sure if it's still there after COVID)
Time - 30 minutes (Seriously, some of them you go up and you're done, longer for dinner)
What's nicer than seeing the KL Skyline? We have a great big modern city with some of the world's tallest buildings. Yes, yes much can be said about the price of some certain projects but you know while they stand you might as well go inside and take a look. Bask in the amazing views of skyscrapers both modern and ancient, see the wealth disparity for yourself except you get to feel atas about it too! Literally! Even better if you have some friends willing to bring you over for drinks at office buildings with great views because that is really legit a good time.
The nice thing about KLCC is that they now not only bring you to the bridge but now also bring you to some swanky tourist trap on the 86th floor. Great for a one time shot of visual spectacle. Lookout Point in particular is great because there used to be all these street food vendors (it's only ok) and you enjoy food overlooking KL at night. Not even that far a drive.
The Caveat - It tends to be an experience you do only once and even then your mileage may vary. Planning to catch the sunrise with a drink is quite the experience, but yeah can be pretty pricey if you're trying to stretch the time. Best planned with something else like say a walking in KL or meeting in the park.
Movie + Walk in the Mall/Makan (?)
Mid Valley Mall (luxurylaunches.com)
Price - RM20-30+ depending on movie + popcorn
Locations - Anywhere with a theater
Time - 2-3 hours idk check the movie
Ah yes, the white bread of things to do in KL. Safe, hard to go wrong but also hard to go right. Can sometimes be too long to fit another activity in there so what I've usually seen is people go to the movie then go get some coffee or go to the mamak after (because it can end late and now things close early). Usually you watch the movie you really want to watch like Spiderman and spend the next hour borak-borak about it and go home. Not much to say really.
The Caveat - Well, it's a going to see a movie and most probably dinner afterward, maybe even a walk in the park at night. To make it interesting you just have to add more activities.
Bouldering
BUMP Jaya One (optionstheedge.com)
Price - RM45+ with shoes rental, free for first-timers on weekdays at Camp5!
Locations - There are quite a few in KL now. Camp5 and BUMP come to mind.
Time - 2-4 hours. Can be packed at peak times.
Now bouldering is a fine very underrated activity. Rock climbing is climbing a tall wall with a rope and harness but bouldering is climbing a shorter wall with just your hands and wits. It's safe once you get the hang of it and is as strenuous as you want it to be.
Most people think you need strength, but really it's more about the technique and finesse of it. For example I consider myself decently strong (can do many pull ups) but I cannot climb even half as well as my friends who can't do pull ups. It's a physical puzzle, one you where you plot a solution in your brain and solve it with your body.
The Caveat - If you do not do much physical activity prepare for some pain the next day. You will also need someone who has been before to bring you in if you don't want to go through the whole safety lecture thing (which you should if you don't have such a person). It's not strenuous physical activity, but it's something to mention. If you fall in love with it, get your own shoes.
"Camping"/Random BBQ-ing/Picnic
Otw down from Genting stop where you can safely see this and cook food there
Price - RM20-80+ depending on group size and amenities
Locations - Can range from a beach to a random hillside to some abandoned construction site to a random pit stop otw down from Genting
Time - 2-4 hours is ideal
"Camping" (bringing camping stuff but not camping) as opposed to camping (actually camping under the stars in some forsaken campgrounds) I'm considering a different beast from camping/hiking. There's probably a word for this, but right now it escapes me, so I call it Random Barbecue-ing, which is different from just a straight up barbecue in your house/condo. I call it "camping" because strangely a lot of people who do this bring and set up their own tent, which is really not necessary but it does keep out the insects.
RBBQ-ing involves some kind setup, prep, and you need to come with a host of things from portable gas stove to pots and pans to water and disposal bags. That said, all you really need is just a good location and you're all set. What this means can vary from person to person- I've been to a rooftop BBQ (sweet), ones set in some abandoned building (spooky), one overlooking KL from Genting (amazing), and one on the beach in Sepang (great). It really depends on your tolerance for sticking to 'the rules' and the view and vibe you get from the place. Best done at night with cool air and disposal readily available, though this is popular in the day as well. Don't forget to clean after yourself.
The Caveat - There is a lot of work that goes into making this work out. The ones I've been a part of that were terrible were missing food, utensils, water (for cleaning only), simple stuff like that. Best with small group, but larger ones can be a riot. You also want to make sure you don't ruin it for other people by making sure you clean up after yourself. This usually means one guy inevitably sacrifices himself to make sure everyone is doing the right thing (usually the planner).
Clubbing Drinking in KL

No clubbing allowed
Price - RM50-200 depending on your tolerance
Locations - TREC KL, Jln Telawi Bangsar, Changkat, Heritage Row, Genting Highlands, Publika, Speakeasy bars like PS150, Pawn Room, Suzie Wong, etc.
Time - Until 12AM. No more partying till the sun comes out.
Ah the night life in KL wherefore art thou. I don't know of any clubbing, and even if I did I wouldn't tell you that they happen at certain clubs where you can get the numbers from certain people, people who know when they may or may not be raided. I certainly wouldn't tell you that these places masquerade as bars with indoor dancing inside, and I certainly wouldn't advocate it seeing as how the police have no qualms with dishing out the hefty fines. You do you.
Drinking on the other hand is an activity enjoyed by many. Above are just some of the areas/places that are 'clean' and expat friendly. Having a few pints with friends will never get old, and depending on where you are you can often have a riot seeing other people stumbling about or fighting. Bangsar, Publika and Changkat are great places to hop from one bar to another, just to bask in the activities of strangers who will love you when you buy them a shot of water.
There are plenty more ratchet karaoke/gentlemen clubs where you may or may not have to buy certain flowers to get the right kind of attention. I don't know anything about these other clubs, and have been told they are filled with loose attractive women who may or may not do things depending on the kinds of gifts you buy for them conveniently at the club itself. These are rumors, and should be taken as such.
The Caveat - Drinking in a bar is no different from drinking in another. The atmosphere can be nice, can be fun but really I think if the only reason you're out to drink with your friends you can certainly do better and cheaper too. Especially now these days when we have to maintain social distance, partying can be a risky proposition these days. That said, those areas usually will have some kind of riotous atmosphere that many will enjoy. Caveat Emptor should you be able to find the places you can party.
Cycling
Some dude cycling I guess (travelingclaus.com)
Price - RM 25+ or free if you have your own, more for motorbikes or nice road/mountain bikes
Locations - You can rent bikes from places like FRIM, Lake Titiwangsa, Putrajaya Lake or even online road bikes
Time - 1-2 hours
Cycling is a super activity in Malaysia, that is unless you're cycling on the road where it hovers between life or death and going for groceries. Personally I think there's some excitement as a city dude haphazardly figuring out how to cycle from Shah Alam to Sunway (not a good idea), and you're forced to really know the roads and common sense procedures. Of course if doing ridiculous things is not your suit, then cycling at the park especially at Titiwangsa is great fantastic fun.
The Caveat - The roads in Malaysia clearly are not meant for cyclists so you go ahead and proceed with caution. There are scenic routes to take in Shah Alam or Semenyih but I don't know those nor the logistics of carrying a (nice) bicycle by car. You will be bullied by both cars and bikes and everyone is going to think you're some kind of pretentious douche. But really who cares if that's what you like.
Shooting Range
Shooting Range according to Klook
Price - RM1.5-2k to join an association, about RM1 per bullet afterwards (maybe it's cheaper idk)
Locations - Depends
Time - 1 Hour (Will be very costly for longer than this)
Shooting is one of the many modern inventions we see everyday but never get to hold. Luckily for monyets there are associations that you can join with absurd fees but once you're in I do believe you can bring in a friend or two. From there it costs per bullet and that price can rack up surprisingly quickly, especially if you're going full auto. If you have any friends in the Polis it's one of the things you should ask them to bring you as that was how I got to experience it, but frankly I don't know that much about it other than you get to feel like John Wick so long as you follow the rules. Seriously though, don't mess around at a gun range.
The Caveat - In my experience this is one of those things you gotta know someone before you do it kind of thing. Otherwise it's at buyer's discretion, and hopefully someone who knows more about this than me can attest to the mystery of shooting a gun in Malaysia. Also don't mess around at the gun range. Like seriously.
Sunway Lagoon
Sunway Lagoon (Easybook.com)
Price - RM133 for MyKad holders, RM202 for International Peeps just to go in. RM100+ for Bungee, RM50+ for GeForce X (quite worth), RM50+ for double tubes/surfboards, RM 25 for locker (yeah you're going to need it), RM 20+ for food and beverage
Location - Behind Sunway Pyramid
Time - The whole day have you seen that price??
There isn't much to say about Sunway Lagoon. It's an amusement park, it's open but mostly go there to enjoy some rides and I guess laze around in the pool. The Vuvuzela slide is nice, but really it's just ok. Enjoy the experience vicariously at Sunway Pyramid by looking down at all the plebians from the Asian Food area on the top floor, walk the long pedestrian bridge go on the Pirate Ship? It's really just an ok experience. Fun for family and I guess a date.
The Caveat - You'll feel like you wanna spend the whole day there, and you're probably going to. It's alright.
Ice Skating
Sunway Pyramid Ice Skating Rink (savemoretips.com)
Price - RM 35+
Location - Sunway Pyramid, iOi City Mall, Royale Chulan (kinda small)
Time - 1-2 Hours before your feet start to cramp
Ice skating! It's like roller blading but slippery and you feel the hard knocks landing on the ice- it ain't soft. Straight-forward activity, not so great with a group but I think it's nice to bring a date as 'something to do'. Flounder around or go really fast and crash into the walls either way it's something to do. Just try not to go when they Zamboni the ice, or when they have those endless ice-skating/hockey practice. Now playing ice hockey might be fun, but I've never been gotten around to asking how one might join such a prestigious activity.
The Caveat - Decent fun, but gets old really quickly depending on how well you can skate.
I-City
Some of the lights at i-City (mygoldenholidays.com)
Price - RM20+ for parking, RM 25+ for attractions like Waterworld, RM45+ for Winter Wonderland
Time - 1-4 Hours
I-City is a city of lights in Klang just off the Federal Highway. It's a very nice place to take a walk, take some pictures and be generally lovey dovey. Iirc it's one of the locations from SAM by Syafiq Yusof (Rubbish movie), so check out the trailer or pictures. When it first started it was some ghetto boondocks but now it's fully equipped with some rides, a winter wonderland and a trick art museum so it's insta worthy. Ah the wonders of modern development. I would go just to take a few pictures, maybe go on the ferris wheel but it's quite chill and worth a trip.
The Caveat - You can only go at night. Maybe plan it so you go to Pulau Ketam and have bak ku teh in the evening and cap the night at I-City.
The Void @ Genting
What you wear @ The Void (placesandfoods.com)
Price - RM130+
Location - Genting Indoor Theme Park
Time - 20 minutes
This is the one activity in Genting I would highlight specifically. It's an immersive VR experience, unlike those other cheap VR cafes and "VAR" experiences you might find elsewhere (The one that used to be at Mid Valley came close). Is it pricey? Absolutely. But I guarantee you'll come out of it with a hell of an experience, especially if you're a Star Wars nut and you do the Star Wars one. The difference between this and other VR is that you actually get to walk through the environments and press real buttons to open doors, close hatches with some 4D mixed in there.
It's so unique that I went there with just a friend (you can go with up to 4), and they just let you dual wield rifles like some kind of rambo. You wear a special vest where if you get hit you actually feel quite uncomfortable, and there is friendly fire. Honestly, I think we spent a good 10 minutes just shooting each other and trying to not get hit- that in itself was worth every ringgit (bonus points for shooting erogenous areas).
Wanna know what the metaverse could be? Try the Void.
The Caveat - It costs RM130 per person. Worth it though I'm telling you.
Zoo Negara
Zoo Negara (lowyat.net)
Price - RM 45+
Location - Zoo Negara @ Taman Melawati
Time - Depending on your love for animals 1-2 Hours
It's the Zoo. You wanna see bored animals behind cages? You've come to the right place. Yes it's educational, yes it's a public service but really it smells something fierce and if you don't like animals well what are you doing here. There are two good things, one is that it's next to FINAS so you get to tell stories about the Malaysian movies that go through there (if you know some), two is that it's in Melawati and you can head to Tabur to hike before/after, go to Lookout Point or go deeper inside to the Xtreme Parks inside and make your own roadtrip/hike with some really nice scenic views (not a long drive). Want to feel like you're driving in the Thai countryside? The road going inside gives you that very experience. Plus there's a mini waterfall there (emphasis on mini), so that's interesting I guess? I don't know what to say about the Zoo.
The Caveat - You better love animals. It also smells something fierce.
Fishing/Shrimping
Fishing + Restaurant @ Yin Her Restaurant (vkeong.com)
Price - RM10+ to go in, RM10 + to rent a rod with bait, RM 25+ to bring it somewhere so they can cook for you
Location - You can fish most rivers and drains, but there are specific restaurants/fishing ponds next to each other where you/they can cook what you catch. Pricing varies, but Kampung Subang has a spot, Sungai Buloh has a spot and Ampang has a spot.
Time - 1-4 Hours
Fishing is pain. Some people love it but if you got no patience like me you'll hate it. You can spend hours catching nothing, but I have to say when you do catch something and you bring it to the restaurant to cook *chefs kiss* quite the experience. Shrimping is similar except you're way more likely to catch something and you can cook it on the spot yourself (there's a restaurant in Ampang where you sit right next to some bamboo and you can catch shrimp and plop it straight on the grill). There's something about catching it yourself makes it all the more delicious, and it's something surprisingly fun to do (provided you catch something).
The Caveat - You need some amount of patience to catch fish. Beers will help immensely. Also not recommended to do if you're hungry and you really want to eat.
Ghost Hunting/Urban Exploring (Abandoned Buildings)

Mimaland (malaysiahauntedstory.blogspot.com)
Price - RM20+ for petrol & toll I guess? Use your phone flashlight. Free except your sanity perhaps.
Locations - Ngl some really dodge areas. Bukit Tunku, Billion/Amber Court in Genting, The Karak Highway, First World Hotel in Genting, The Old Road to Genting (Go at night for some spectacular frights), Temples, Damn just go to Genting or ask some monyets it seems like anywhere remotely abandoned looking has some ghost stories.
Time - 30 minutes (getting spooked doesn't take long in my experience)
Ghost hunting is great fun when you're young. It's that feeling of going somewhere with friends disturbing some presence and pretending to scare each other and going to that mamak somewhere I think is just very unique to Malaysia. Of course you're going to be extremely bored if you don't believe in ghosts, but coincidentally you can then see it as exploring abandoned locations. For good fun randomly shout your friends name as you wander the halls or just call out ghosts. You'll either be haunted for life by ghosts or your friends and both can have its exciting moments. "Bro you saw that ah bro?!"
The Caveat - Some of these places are abandoned for good reasons namely landslides. Like anything on this list use common sense, don't go sliding down hills or if you do see people for goodness' sake don't go disturb them. Be they ghosts or real, sometimes people go there to party or shoot up, neither are people you wanna disturb.
Xtreme Sports (ATV, Paintball, Skateboarding, FlowrideAirrider @ 1U)
An ATV Park I guess? ( astarawistana-momoi.blogspot.com )
Price - Free for skateboard, expect about RM100+ for the rest
Locations - Shah Alam Xtreme Park, Mont Kiara Skate Park, ATVs can be found by the beach or at Xtreme Parks like FRIM, Shah Alam or Melawati (Behind the Zoo)
Time - 1-2 Hours
Skateboarding/Longboarding is straightforward, I just didn't know where else to place it. Just know that the gravel roads in Malaysia are just awful for speed and these kind of parks can be equally boring if you don't know how to do tricks and the like. As for the other Xtreme Sports, they are fun bursts of "oh shit this is fun" before you're reigned in for safety.
Flowrider and Airrider on the other hand have its own issues. They honestly really feel unfulfilling. I can't explain the feeling but it's not something I'd do again nor recommend. It feels hollow, shallow even.
The Caveat - If you're not the adventurous type then these activities are some of the most fun you'll have. Of course stuff like this is best experienced in a group where everyone is nicely horsing around, and paintball especially if I recall needs at least 8-10 people. So if you don't have friends maybe stick to skateboarding. They are also not cheap for the amount of time you're on them.
Conclusion
These are just some of the things I've tried/heard good things about, your experience may wildly vary based on sobriety. Some of the fun stuff I've left out is Sunset Spotting, Visiting Temples, Visiting Muzium Negara (really bad), Visiting the various art exhibits in KL. I'll edit in stuff that people highlight so Idk what else is there to do in KL? Sip and Wine? Pottery Classes? That Postcard exhibit in Sunway Velocity? The free art gallery at KLCC? DPAC/KLPAC/PJPAC?

2021.11.27 16:00 andy-plays Reward Card Analysis Part V and an amazing Gladius Case!- A Diary Of A Splinterlands Player #021

Check out my original post on peakd:
https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@andy-plays/reward-card-analysis-part-v-and-an-amazing-gladius-case-a-diary-of-a-splinterlands-player-021

There you can find the other parts of the series as well!

The Rares - Part II:

The second part of my analysis on the rare reward cards and my fifth part over all. Some more are to come!

Venari Bonesmith

I think this is the last Venari. After Life there is Death. And the Bonesmith is a bloodsucker. Literally. It has Life Leech increasing its health every time it deals damage. The big problem are void cards. Usually magic damage would help this card a lot, hitting almost certain, if not dodged by a phase card. But with void, the life leech ability is neglected up to Gold Cap, since the Bonesmith has only 1 Magic Damage from level 1-5. This is a clear disadvantage to all other Live Leechers, all of them having 2-3 magic (or ranged in the case of Vampire) damage. But the Bonesmith is the cheapest of them. In terms of price but also mana. So if you are not facing a void card, everything is fine and the Bonesmith can start to accumulate HP. But yes, it faces harsh competition: Vampire and Ancient Lich are also Life Leech monsters in Death Splinter, but also being able to use the ability from level one. Vampire is a common card currently only being 3x of the Bonesmith, while Ancient Lich is a legendary card sitting at 84x of the Bonesmith. But it also has 3 magic attack, and gets void and resurrect. Bonesmith gets to 2 magic attack from Level 6-8 and gets poison at Level 4 and Dispel at Level 10. It also gets one more starting HP at level 4 and level 7, and gets one more speed at level 2 and 5. If not facing a void monster, the Bonesmith can be pretty valuable – or if it gets Opportunity or Snipe through the Rule Set.

Twilight Basilisk

Dragon has two Rare cards, since there are no common dragons this Reward rotation. The Twilight Basilisk is usually the cheaper one. At level 1 it has 1 Melee Attack, 3 Speed, 1 Shield, 3 HP and Reach, making it a very underwhelming card, which therefore has not a lot of use. This slightly changes at level 2, when another Melee Attack is added. The value is added at level 5, giving it stun. But it has some competition: In Dragon there are Dragon Jumper and Lighting Dragon, the last getting it already at Silver Level, the first getting it at Gold level as well, but being limited by using it on the weakest monster, because of its opportunity. Since both other dragons are a lot more expensive, both price and mana wise, the Basilisk is a good addition for the Dragon Splinter. But except for Dragon Splinter there are endless alternatives. Fire has Pit Ogre at level 1, Lava Launcher at Level 4 (also Gold level), Spark Pixies Level 5 (also Gold level) and Goblin Fireballer at level 10 (Diamond / Champion level), as well as Gladius Card Fina Voxom, which also gets it at Gold level. Water has Medusa at level 3 (Common, Silver level), Sniping Narwhal at level 6 (Common, Gold level), Frost Giant and Two Gun Pete, both legendary at level 4, so those are only available to Diamond and Champion players. Earth has Stone Golem and Spirit Shaman, the first being available to use it at Gold, the second already at Silver. Life has Thunderbird and Bila the Radiant, both also get the ability at Gold level. Death has Undead Rexx (rewards, level 9, Diamond+), Dark Enchantress (Alpha/Beta epic, level 4), Soulstorm (Untamed, epic level 6), Lord of Darkness (Alpha/Beta, legendary, level 2) and Cthuhu (Dice, legendary, level 2). So right now, both the legendary cards will be able to use it from Silver, Dark Enchantress from Gold and the other two in Diaond and above. Additionally there is Liza Fox, a Gladiator that gets stun at level 4, which makes it available at Silver level, since she is a rare card. And finally there are Goblin Mech (reward, common, level 6), Gremlin Blaster (reward, rare, level 5), Cyclops (Beta, rare, level 6), Dwarven Wizard (Promo, epic, level 4) and Chain Golem (Untamed, legendary, level 4), who all get it in Gold and above. But still, at time of writing the Basilisk is the cheapest Stun user regarding price. And it is one of the cheaper cards regarding mana, especially in modern format. So yes, the space is still in hard competition, but the Twilight Basilisk is a cheap versatile option.

Naga Assassin

The Naga Assassin is a completely different story. Starting with one ranged attack, 5 speed and two HP, with no abilities, at two mana, it has its place in low mana battles already. At Silver cap (Level 4, 25 BCX) it gets Backfire, with the other Backfire option being the Pelacor Deceiver, which gets the ability at Gold Level first. So this is a unique selling point to the Naga Assassin. Actually it gains only HP in the first few levels, then backfire, then another speed and another ranged attack (at level 6), before it gets another HP and Swiftness. At Silver Cap, this is a complete beast. It doesn’t really do a lot of damage itself, but with 5 speed backfire is already going to be triggered a lot. And if that Swiftness would’ve been any earlier, it would completely broke the meta. In the Lost Magic rule set, this card is almost untouchable, while dealing a lot of damage to all the attackers. It is still to be seen, how good it really is, but to me, this is no $0.69 card. There is no real comparison, but at 2 mana alone this card is much more valuable, only being limited by its low ranged attack damage.

Gargoya Devil

The last rare monster is the neutral Gargoya Devil. At level 1 it already has 2 ranged attack, 2 speed, one shield, 3 HP, Flying and Close Range, making it able to hit from first position. At Silver Cap it gets Deathblow – being the only card in the game as of right now – that has this ability. It will deal 2x damage to its opponent, if the opponent is the only monster left on the enemy team, giving a big hit to Last Stand monsters. Since it gets one more ranged attack at level 3, this will lead to 6 ranged attack to the last enemy monster, which is huge. It is limited by its low health and low speed. It goes to 3 speed at level 2 and stays this way, and is going to get another HP at level 6 and 7, and getting another attack at level 10, as well as another shield at level 5. So yes, it is getting bulkier starting from level 5, but it is still very vulnerable to magic damage on its own. Still being able to attack from first position makes this card very valuable. And it is said, that – at least in combination with others, it is a Llama + Kron / Flesh Golem killer. It is also a little limited by its high mana cost, but that is something that almost all close range cards share (Lava Launcher being at 9 mana, Axemaster at 7 mana, Beatrix Ironhand at 6 mana and Hero of the Beyond at 7 mana. The two Gladiators Alfredo at two mana and Tatiana Blayde at 8 mana are a little different; Axemaster gets Close Range at level 4, being only available to Gold and above and Alfredo at level 5, also being able to be used only when the Guild Barracks are at Level 7 and above).

What a Case!

Didn't think, that I would get so lucky with a Gladius Case, but this was far above any of my expectations! Two Epics and two Rares! A total of almost 500 CP and very useful Gladiators!
Cheers,
@andy-plays

2021.08.21 06:26 nickdarick ORPGs similar to Twilights Eve?

I’m looking for an rpg similar to Twilights Eve. I want to be able to play solo, pick a class, do quests/dungeons for items/xp/gold , basically all the basic stuff expected in an ORPG. If you can change your class multiple times (like Twilights Eve), thats an even bigger plus). What maps come to your minds? Thanks in advance

2021.06.18 23:24 SGTQuackers [GL] Get Carried: Winged Wisdom (Budget-ish Guide)

Yo.
This is a how2 Get carried for the Almost Mighty (Best ghost shell btw) Auhlsotho. Naturally there will be a few assumptions regarding this, and all of them are Sylvie.
  1. You have Sylvie
  2. You have her partly enhanced
  3. You have her TM (or two)
See I told you.
Anyway, since gumi were generous enough to hand out a free 7* Elena, these two units are your bread and butter for these clears.
For you see, you can pick a friend unit, who can carry your ass to level 9 and beyond. This friend unit should either be Starlight Elena, or Noppy. We'll get to that.
Observe, fools. In just 4 magic turns, a simple team consisting of the free elena, fucking Libertus of all people, Story Fina (Or some say Fina) and the legendary Sylvie. (assume the starlight elena is in the friend slot pls ty)
Their stats will shock you , it's actually outrageous how much you can get away with..
In short: 7* Elena, obtained for free. Basically, her own TM and STM equipped (because free). The gear I used was the Twilight Set but you can probably get better much easier now, trials and shit fam.
Sylvie: Basically just requires her own tm to be equipped. This can be an issue, however, in obtaining her. I'm nearly sure you can get enough as a newbie by using the free nv unit to dumpster some early scorns for the UoC tickets.
She is replaceable, however you need someone that is able to imbue and imperil Earth at the same time, ideally to multiple units in a single turn. If this is the case, please see the Fina section below
Libertus: Literally if he can do it, any tank can. You can pick Awakened WoL from the beginner whatever, and he helps cover the Fina role if you have him.
Fina: She's literally only here just in case you cant finish the fight, or choose to kill the clerics first. In which case you need some healing.
If you're new, you might not have access to a lot of ribbon effects, i.e accessories or materia which increase resistance to status effects like Sleep and etc, which this boss likes to use.
Sylvie is able to buff that resistance and give the aoe earth imbue AND atk/mag breaks in the same turn, which is what makes her great for this. AWOL also has Atk/Mag breaks, but they are lower than sylvies, though if you have Awol instead of libertus, they're likely enough.
Breaks, Imbues, Imperils, Heals, Ailment Res. That's the name of the game
Now, on to the actual fight.
Almost Mighty Auhlsotho! Resistances
Fire Ice Lightning Water Wind Earth Light Dark
200 200 200 200 200 0 50 500
If Acolytes Alive:
+200% Def Buff (undispellable)
Basic bitch attacks and Ailment Infliction
If acolytes Dead
No Defense Buffs
50% Fixed damage to all enemies (that's you) and Standard attacks with ailment shit.
Below like 40 or 50 or something it begins using magic attacks, so get some beef on you. (that's HP)
Sylvie, or your imbuer (like Daughter of Destiny Vanille, or Behemy even), should begin the fight by.
Imbuing Earth
and doing the imperily doo if they have it. Sylvie or another unit (like Folka or something) can buff Ailment res to the party. Sylvie has Spring Cleaning, Daughter of Destiny Vanille has Veil, there's a bunch of units who have this. Refer to this chart pls
If this same unit can break ATK/MAG, they should do that.
FOR SYLVIE it should look something like this
Triple the Fun! > Withering Arms+2 > Gravel Egg > Spring Cleaning
TANK
Just cover.
ELENA + STARLIGHT ELENA
ELENA: Speed of Light > Blade of Crystalx3
STARLIGHT ELENA: Crystal Trinity > Star Supernova > Gemini Bladex2
From turn 2 onwards, Elena will still cast the same, and Starlight Elena will swap to:
Crystal Trinity > Gemini Bladex3
FINA
Just heal if shit hits the fan. That's really all she's there to do. Very interchangeable. Awakened Warrior of Light for example can heal and dole out barriers. You can instead bring two units who imbue and imperil for example. Or someone who reduces atk/mag and can be equipped with Shiva for Imperil.
TL:DR
FRIEND STARLENA WITH YOUR OWN ELENA AND SYLVIE, PHYS TANK BOIII
IMBUE EARTH, IMPERIL, AILMENT RES
TRIPLE BS ON BOTH ELENA AND ELENA
TRIPLE SR ON ELENA AND NOPPY BARRAGE IF TAKING NOPPY
KILL ACOLYTES FOR FASTER BUT MORE DANGEROUSER CLEAR
LEAVE ALIVE FOR SAFER BUT SLOWER CLEAR.
Thanks for reading, I know it's not the cleanest I could make it but that's for nerds who take time.
Gotta go fast.
Edit: Quick tip, in general just go to friend threads or the friend channel on discord and just poke around for starlena friends, they are plentiful and more than likely willing to help out. Probably.

2020.11.10 20:46 CelticGamingGod The Pantheon of Epharia Ver. 1.0

Greetings all,
I have finally finished my pantheon for my homebrew world that I have created. I am curious on what you'll think of it. I haven't done any profiles for the individual deities as of yet as I simply wanted to get the main framework out of the way.
A couple of quick notes.
  1. I am NOT using the alignment system for this world. I have a lot of issues trying to shoehorn the races into nine little boxes. I find it too confining and lets face it, people are a lot more diverse then that. Instead, I am looking this as the Seven Coins of Divinity. Each coin has two sides, eg. Life/Death, OrdeChaos, etc.
  2. I have decided not to use racial deities as well. I am leaning towards a favored by system, but the idea that each race has its "OWN" deity was again too confining.
  3. I have added six primary elemental spirits for a little flavor - not quite sure how I will handle them, but I wanted them there just in case.
Without Further Ado:
The Head Side of the Coin
Sex Name Portfolio Domains
F Lutena Life Life, Nature, Hunt
F Fina Sun Light, Nature, Phoenix
M Vyse Angels Light, Life, Protection
F Yuna Peace Love, Protection, Unity
M Aramis Truth Knowledge, Unity. Judgement
M Vernir Order Order, Judgement, Forge
F Rayva Arcane Arcana, Knowledge. Order
The Tails Side of the Coin

Sex Name Portfolio Domains
F Morrigan Death Death, Winter, Grave
M Malifor Moon Twilight, Spirit, Travel
M Diablos Fiends (as suggested by AlucardNedoras) Night, Death, Destruction
F Bellona War War, Chaos, Forge
M Kefka Deceit Trickery, Luck, Twilight
F Teela Chaos Chaos, Trickery. Tempest
F Myria Nature Nature, Tempest, Hunt
The Elemental Spirits

Sex Name Portfolio
F Glacia Ice
M Hydrius Water
F Arwyn Wind
M Flarion Fire
F Astra Electricity
M Retmus Earth
There we have it. I welcome any advice or constructive criticism!

2020.11.09 23:23 CelticGamingGod Help Adding Domains to Homebrew Pantheon - Possibly Patrons

I'm simply reaching out for some assistance from the community as I am brain fried at this point.
I am creating a Homebrew pantheon and have thrown the traditional alignment chart out. I have finally figured out the direction I am going with the pantheon and have named them with their portfolios - but I am hitting a brick wall when it comes to the domains. Silly, perhaps. I also would like to add a few homebrew domains to the list to diversify this a little more. In addition to the existing domains, I would like to add the following. (Please feel free to suggest other homebrew domains)
Anyways, this is the pantheon I have put together:
The Elder Gods
Gender Name Portfolio(s) Domain(s)
Female Tyla Life
Female Morrigan Death
Male Moradin Sun
Female Yuna Moon
Male Vyse Angels
Male Diablos Demons
Male Kefka War
Female Brayna Love
Female Asura Lies/Deceit
Male Aramis Truth/Justice
The Elementals

Gender Name Portfolio(s) Domain(s)
Male Flarion Fire
Female Glacia Ice
Female Astra Electricity
Male Hydrius Water
Male Lios Earth
Male Imperos Wind
Female Fina Light
Male Malwen Darkness
Female Myria Nature
Female Rayva Arcane
That is the Pantheon of Epharia.
If you are feeling particularly feisty, you could also assist me in matching the races to a their patron. I am looking at this as everyone worships everyone, but each race ultimately chooses one god to be their primary deity. I have broken the races into four distinct factions - more for my reference. Races in italics are the primary political races.
The Neutral Races
The Arcane Races
The Nature Races
The Monster Races

That's it. Any feedback is welcome as this is my first time creating a world. I've already modified my races based on some great feedback on these forums and am now much happier with the layout.

2020.09.27 02:02 JohnnyUtahStuntWang Didst thou not see why Ariamis created this world?

In the wintery painted world, there is a structure resembling an old cathedral (Annex Key)
Cathedral - the principal church of a diocese, with which the bishop is officially associated.
Slip sold by bishop of Velka, Goddess of Sin (Indictment)
We find the bishop, black cleric, of that old cathedral in the Painted World, or at least his Black Set.
The pardoners listen to the confessions of sinners, urging reflection and salvation. Their masks symbolize separation from worldly desires (Mask of Velka)
For the moment, all I will say is that the statue of the mother and child found in the courtyard of the old cathedral of the Painted World is also found at the entrance of the Four Kings of New Londo.
Why does one seek the mother and child? The form of the kindly Mother who gives life or form of the naïve Child, innocent and free of sin.
Cometh thou to confess? Or to accuse? For indeed all sin is my domain - Oswald
To a Bishop of Velka confessing or accusing are the same, sin.
If thou desireth to preserve thine humanity, then confess thy misdoings to me. Be it granting absolution or doling penance; all sin is my domain. - Oswald
This is the old church. It was abandoned in favour of the church that you passed through. - Andre of Astora
Andre being from Astora is important, but not for now.
So after ringing the Bell of Awakening, a Bishop appears. This same new church houses Lautrec, also of Carim, a worshipper of the goddess Fina. From Andre's old church is the proving grounds of the ancient Gods and the path to Anor Londo.
I'd like to keep this linear and avoid so many tangents, but...
The Dark Tales also make reference: An emerald flask, from the Keeper's soul She lives to protect the flame, And dies to protect it further. (Estus Flask)
Heretically, She sacrifices herself in opposition to tales of light and Cleric's of White.
So anyways, Why do those seek the Realm of Lords? Well, that would be up to the individual self.
Ahh... But, why... What seeketh thee? - Priscilla
Some may seek service and others may seek vengeance, but some may choose salvation.
And what is salvation if not to seek another plane of existence, which transcends life, separation from worldly desires.
Who art thou? One of us, thou art not. If thou hast misstepped into this world, plunge down from the plank, and hurry home. If thou seekest I, thine desires shall be requited not.
Thou must returneth whence thou came. This land is peaceful, its inhabitants kind, but thou dost not belong. I beg of thee, plunge down from the plank, and hurry home.
I expected as much from thee. Why dost thee hurry toward thine death? - Priscilla
She tells us we don't belong in the Painting because we seek something else. She tells us that if we seek her, she won't give back. For home to the Undead is flame and not a cold and lonely painted world.
Even the Gods feared Priscilla's lifehunt ability, and in the hands of a mortal, its power will turn upon its wielder. (Lifehunt Scythe)
If we seek life, she won't give it back to us.
But, if we seek death, she'll oblige.
Who do we seek? A compassionate being that is with us in times of tragedy or a demoness that guides us toward misfortune. A mother or a child.
How do you choose to serve your Goddess?
Certain Darkwraiths resist their descent into dark and preserve along the honorable path. (Red Sign Soapstone)
Stocking up on Indictments? How honorable of you! Heh heh heh heh... - Oswald
To confess or to accuse, bring her life or bring her death.
She lives to protect the flame, And dies to protect it further.
What did you bring the stark white crossbreed? Did you sully her with your dark sin? Did you grant absolution or dole penance?
Those who seek the Four Kings and their art of Lifedrain are on the same path as those who seek Priscilla and her Lifehunt.
That is to say, they all seek a will of their own.
We find the Rusted Iron Ring, used to shackle the guilty, in the same place we find the Peculiar Doll.
And the guilty never die, they rise from their home.
There is an old saying in my family... Thou who art Undead, art chosen... In thine exodus from the Undead Asylum, maketh pilgrimage to the land of Ancient Lords... When thou ringeth the Bell of Awakening, the fate of the Undead thou shalt know... Well, now you know... And I can die with hope in my heart... Oh, one more thing... Here, take this... An Estus Flask, an Undead favourite... Oh, and this...
Now I must bid farewell... I would hate to harm you after death... So, go now... And thank you... - Oscar of Astora
Did you seek the mother?
Thou hast journey'd far, and overcome much, chosen Undead. Come hither, child...
Please. Father's role thou should assume, and inheriteth the Fire of our world. Thou shall endeth this eternal twilight, and avert further Undead sacrifices. - Gwynevere
The Father is valiant and knowledge is a burden.
Or are you a child of dark who know not much of anything..."
Didst thou not see why Ariamis created this world?

2020.07.26 06:22 Shuden A Bad Update to the Highest Turn 1 modifiers list.

I had to clear some SSBs today to get some lapis SINCE GUMI DECIDED TO JUST STEAL OUR STORY EVENT LAPIS and noticed that BlooShinja has been slacking off since his incredibly useful post from a couple months back, god bless him, So I guess I'll Thanos reference it myself.
Check out his post if you're wondering about older units and finishers, it's so much better than what I did here.
Note: Yes, there is only one table, because I'm lazy. There are also less units, because it was too long, BlooShinja made the cut at 50x modifier, I made it at 80x. There might be some info missing (specially the 6x chaining part, sorry!), because I'm dumb. Let me know what I missed and I'll try to fix it as soon as I see it.
And just a quick disclaimer, this is only useful if you have external EVERYTHING (or MM Xon lolololol), you'll usually get more damage by buffing/imbueing/imperiling/breaking properly turn 1 and going for the finish on turns 2 or 3 instead of simply going big numbers go brr like this.

2020.04.28 20:14 BlooShinja Highest Turn 1 Ability Multipliers

*Updated 5/28/2020 for 2nd Dark Visions event*
I hate setup turns, and I usually wait until I can FTKO trials before I do them. So as a pet project, I've been working to calculate effective first turn modifiers. As it turns out, this might be useful for Dark Visions, so I thought I'd share some of it here.
This is all assuming max level, all enhancements and latents, and either TMR or STMR equipped. I definitely could have missed something or miscalculated. So let me know if you have any questions/corrections on how I got the effective mods.

2020.02.15 16:33 TomAto314 Post Pull Depression - FFBE's Top Couples... and Lid x Jake.

Hello and welcome to Post Pull Depression the only thread that wants to share VD with you!
Happy Valentine’s Day! And if you really needed me to wish you one, then that’s kinda sad. Are we still doing the Forever Alone meme or is that dead now (like my love life)? I can’t keep track of these things.
Looks like last year I just outright skipped VD, but I did write one for 2018. I’ll save you the trouble of re-reading it. Here are the highlights:
Holy shit, that’s an 8x mod with a built-in 50% imperil. (lol)
If you liked that terrible plot twist then watch Star Trek Discovery! (watch Picard instead)
Happy Valentine’s Day you fucking piece of shit!
Sounds like something I’d write. For this VD Goomie has decided to start officially shipping characters. We have Sakura x Ayaka and Ignacio x Sieghart. I figured it would be a good opportunity to go over the best couples in FFBE! Did your favorites make the cut?

FFBE Top Couples

Mercedes x Luka

Someone already beat me to this ship with a full on two part fanfic novel complete with cover art. Too bad OP hasn’t been online in 7 months. I assume, as always, that they are dead.

Raegen x Sophia x Citra

It’s not a love triangle if one of them is dead. taps head
I’m still surprised we have not seen Sophia as a unit. We have Mirfas (aka Sophia 2: Electric Boogaloo) so there’s not a good reason to exclude Sophia with a 100% chance to ST cover and introduce something new like negative magic mitigation while they're at it.

Bran x Ruggles

All the way back from July 2017, our second ever story event: A Promise Beyond Time. This is still the gold standard from what we expect from story events. While the original relationship was between Bran x Lunera after her tragic death it left behind Bran and Ruggles to look over the tree that the three of them planted. The tree obviously is a metaphor for a penis. All of the story events have been metaphors for penises by the way. Really the whole game is, I don’t know why I’m the only one who sees this!

Marie x Everyone

With a skill like “Love You All” I assume she is some sort of pan-sexual hippie. Or a yandere stalker. Most people feel that Marie loves them a bit too much. I myself am waiting for two more sweet embraces from her.

Reberta x Zyrus

Hear me out. We have a girl who loves dragons and a boy who hates dragons. Already a better love story than Twilight.
Her former dragon partner was cruelly killed by a person who could wield a special type of magic. She hides within her heart a desire to end this person's life.
He has a particularly bad relationship with a certain dragoon, and there are even rumors that this dragoon seeks to end his life.
There is some hardcore hate sex in the future I hope! And maybe some dragons fucking cars! dragonsfuckingcars. Yes that's real and NSFW.

Chizuru x Jiraiya

One of my fondest memories of this game was piecing together the backstories of all the ninja units. You have Chizuru who gave birth to a son and a daughter and the daughter was lost to the shadows. Miyuki is shroud in a dark aura and exudes murderous ambience. Hayate left to find his sister. OMG THEY ARE A FAMILY! Then hearing they get a story event… And it did not disappoint!
Sure the whole love thing between Chizuru x Jiraiya was pretty weak but this whole arc also gave us:
Kaede x Hayate Yuri x Ohga Hayate’s Sword x Chizuru’s Head

Regina x Krowa

The age old tale of a boy and his sex robot. I’m actually quite surprised that they just didn’t steal Fate Stay Night’s plotpoint.
Regina: “Master, I require more mana.”
Krowa: “Again?”
Regina: “Yes, I need the most potent source of a Master’s mana… their semen.”
Yes, this is literally what happens in FSN if you read the visual novel. It started as a porn series after all.
Also, I love that it’s ok that Regina is dressed in lingerie because she was made by a woman. Phew! No problem there then!

Pertira x Heliarc

I know that Sol’s story event was pretty well received. I personally have some qualms with it. Why did Pertira never do anything science-ey even though she’s a researcher as well. Why is she wearing a ridiculous 70’s manga outfit? But that aside her relationship with Heliarc was full of anime melodrama and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Folka x Ichor

We get very little confirmed fucking in this game. I assume this is mostly due to waifu culture and having to maintain their purity for the fanbase. But sometimes you just can’t get around it. Folka was the first Water Priestess and progenitor of Olderion and the whole water clan.
So who did she pick? A pathetic 3* base unit! Ichor doesn’t even have a 6* form! That’s probably why after having a kid she left him high and dry. (Get it “dry” because of the water thing?)

Folka x Nichol

After Folka abandons her child she loses her wallet for 700 years and then finds her great(x69)-grandson and immediately gets the hots for him. I’m sure someone is going to come in here with their “facts and logic” and tell us that after this length of time the genetic diversity between them is really no different than any two random people. Don’t tell us that. We want the incest. Uh… I mean we DON’T want the incest! Yeah, not at all… that would be weird… ha ha ha...

Fina x Dark Fina

By now we’ve all seen the CG self-cest LB that she has. Seeing how Dark Fina has been “inside her” this whole time it’s quite obvious what is going on. Plus, Dark Fina made Fina to be her ideal unpolluted self and what other reason would you do that except for wanting to pollute that?

Rain x Lasswell

Here we are, the One True Pair of FFBE. Sure there are some crazy fan theories like Rain x Fina or Lasswell x Charlotte or Physalis but let’s be real here this whole game has been nothing more than one giant ship for R&L to sail off on. I’m still personally waiting for the Season 4 spoiler where we learn that Laswell = Rain and he’s just been beating off in front of a mirror the whole time. True love!

FFBE Worst Couple

Lid x Jake

Do I really need to explain? You have a huge age difference: Jake (28) and Lid (16). The complete destruction of Lid’s character which to be fair was previously “I need gil to make airships” but now it’s “I exist solely to love Jake.” But y’know what, I’ll actually buy that with Lid being a 16 year old and going OMG LUV! HEART EMOJI! The problem was with Jake not being a fucking adult and saying “woah there, this is not ok.” Just wait two years Jake until she’s 18 then everything will be perfectly fine!

Post “Pull” Depression

I was originally planning a post about top couples in the FF universe as a whole but the fascist mods have decreed all content must be FFBE related! FREE SPEECH FREE SPEECH FREE SPEECH… Ok, I was actually just too lazy to and I figure all the good FF couple jokes are taken. How about Aerith x Masamune! HOW FUNNY AND ORIGINAL WOULD THAT HAVE BEEN!
Anyways let’s face it most FF romances suck. Especially Squall x Rinoa. BAM! Another cheap shot at FF8.
See ya next banner!
