So woke up this morning to find I may have left my wallet in a cab last night. Bank statement is showing the receipt as ‘Sydney Cabs Ser Car 41 Bankstown’. Unfortunately googling this doesn’t show any definitive results as to which company it might be.
“Sydney Cabs Services Pty Ltd” Anyone have any ideas who the cab company is?
update It was on the floor of the laundry, not even in the cab in the end!!!

2024.05.10 22:30 eqqmc2 Agency requiring negotiations prior to TJO

Thanks to the group for the great information you guys provide special shoutout to u/Head_Staff_9416 for posting a great guide and providing good advise. I am updating the previous thread because I was told by my HR specialist that in this particular agency apparently negotiations should be done prior to signing the TJO. She has been in this agency (under DOT) since January and said that she was in the VA before and there the procedure was the normal TJO -> negotiations -> FJO.
However, the JOA for the 801 series Direct Hire Authority position open to the public that I applied for and got selected said it was a competitive service position with a one year probationary period. The TJO I received, signed and sent back said it was an Exceptive Service position that would be converted to Competitive Service after a 2 yr probation period. I did sign and return the TJO to avoid any issues just in case. The HR specialist was very kind and said she might have used the wrong template. One question: Isnt it by OPM rules that the JOA must stipulate those terms exactly and the TJO and FJO must be consistent with the job announcement ? I check other current openings for the same agency, same position and still say competitive service + 1 yr probation period (Zero mentioning of Excepted Service). In my case I was a previous GS-13 with tenure ie competitive service for 10 yrs so I personally dont have to worry much about in the next 2 yrs as long as I get a successful or above performance rating but still would like an answer.
I got selected for a GS-12 Step 1 position series 801 permanent, full time with GS 13 potential with an agency under DOT open to the Public (Direct Hire) with the issues in the TJO listed above
Here is the updated timeline:
3/22/2024 Applied for the position
4/9/2024 Got referred to hiring manager
4/10/2024 Got a phone call from one of the supervisors. It was really a prescreening interview before the panel interview.
4/24/2024 Had the formal panel interview including the Hiring Manager.
5/2/2024 Got request for references
5/7/2024 Got an email from TJO email from HR indicating that G-12 step 1 position.
5/9/2024 Signed and returned TJO to HR.
5/10/2024 Spoke the HR rep regarding negotiations. Was informed that in that agency negotiations are done prior to TJO. She asked me to write an email with the request items to negotiate:
1- For step negotiation I requested previous highest grade in Federal Service (GS 13 Step 3) which under the OPM Maximum Pay Rule would equate to about a GS-12 Step 5 but I asked for step 8 adding the Agency needs for hard to filled positions as in their letter to congress dated dec 2023.
2-Since the position announcement mentions a recruitment bonus, retention bonus and PCS bonus is authorized with approval and the agency Recruitment, Relocation and Incentive Agencies policies document has it in writing that the agency can authorize a max recruitment incentive of 25% from 6 months to 4 years I requested the 25% for 4 yrs with a service agreement. This is a recognized hard position to filled and to retain as per the agencie’s policies document. The caveat here is that I recently (11/2023) took a NTE 4 yr term intermittent position with the SBA that has no EOD and I have been on non payment status since the beginning. I hope this does not affect the ability to obtain that recruitment bonus. I would have no issue resigning from the SBA position to get the bonus if allowed. I disclosed and provided the agency with my SBA HR specialist contact to see if there is a reciprocity agreement on background checks that I previously went thru to save time. Questions: if the agency says no to the recruitment bonus (because of the NTE position )can I request a PCS bonus given that my change of station is from NYC to Trenton, NJ (same locality pay)? Should have I requested to have a retention bonus yearly (of course after hiring) given how the position is hard to retain? I did request that the Leadership Roles coursework be included too.
3-Given that I have those 10 yrs of federal credit service from my other previous fed job (GS-13) and I have about 7 yrs of relevance experience in the private sector I requested the 8 hr per pay period accrual pay leave rate as if I had 15 yrs in the fed service.
Someone said the motto is: Dont leave any money on the table!!
Any feed back from the group would be really appreciated. Did I go too far or is it fair game? I probably wont get a 100% but figure I will get somewhere in the middle. Which of the negotiable items would be problematic in your opinion?

Hey everyone and thanks for reading!
I just started my own painting(interioexterior residential/commercial) painting business and had a few questions about how best to go about making quotes, invoices, and receipts look more professional. Since I've just started and been so busy this year, I've only done hand quotes and receipts, and typed invoices using a template I found on the internet. It's worked fine for residential clients and haven't had any commercial jobs yet, so didn't think I needed to make things look more above board(I realize I should've been more proactive about this regardless).
However, I received a call from a student housing complex head of maintenance(used to do work for them at the last company I worked for. Was told they've gone through a few companies that have overcharged on shoddy work. They know me well, I've done good work, and know what they expect. So seems like a slam dunk opportunity in that respect.), and they asked me to write up a quote and submit it for a contract. For such a potentially lucrative opportunity - it would behoove me to be more professional, now and in the future.
So, does anyone have recommendations on any software or templates that you've used? I've done quite a bit of research, and spoke with other owners I know.. and have told me many different things. It would make some sense to do it all through Quickbooks, but was wondering if there was any other options that might be better.

TL;DR: Kendrick is throwing hands at a monster. Drake is involved with an investment group that claims to have OVER HALF A TRILLION DOLLARS IN SHARE VALUE and is investing crypto into entities like Deutsche Bank (remember The Big Short? 2008 housing collapse? Trump money laundering?), Creflo Dollar Ministries, and others. I think others here are right and that KDot is trying to uncover more than we know through the beef.
I want to be crystal clear here that everything I have found was sourced from publicly available information and no one has been doxxed.

Edit: It's been pointed out to me that the site bot development site omerta(dot)agency is not affiliated despite the business listing. I'm going to negate it for now pending further research.
This company is shady for a few reasons. First, as has been pointed out, the site is in Russian. Even if you switch over to English, a good majority of it still remains Russian. The services with bot development are troubling from a few perspectives, despite the descriptions given. It also has built-in translation services for Yandex (Russia's version of Google). This was not home-brewed here.
Looking at the business filings. Yes, Adel Nur is listed as the point of contact. However, as of 2022, Omerta changed its name to Dreamcrew Creative, LLC and he is no longer an active director. Why anyone would confirm something incorrect is very odd.

Why would Drake be involved with a Russian company that does web and bot development? Why would they change that over to be part of the Dreamcrew family of LLCs? We’ve seen a lot of scrubbing around the web due to this beef. I feel like I'm just scratching the surface here.
2. Trappenergetix Banq Limited
This is going to get kind of twisty, so bear with me. I've seen this mentioned on Drizzy with no comments, but we're going to dive in a little more because this is ~wild~. Trappenergetix (Trap Energetics Bank) is an investment company that has both a US and UK counterpart. Business filings bring up a lot of questions.
  • The US side was set up in Georgia via an agent in NYC, not Delaware (which is the norm for tax reasons)
  • All participants listed are US-based but the investments aren't going towards the US or US-based companies
  • There is nowhere near enough funds to be in this company, even with members putting in their own cash, to be investing at the rate they claim
If you try to look up the offices for Trapp, it leads you to a co-work space in NYC. Ditto for the UK location. Nothing online suggests advertising for the company. Here are some snippets from the latest Statement of Capital (Jun 2023):

TL;DR: This investment firm has issued $563,978,177,137 in shares. Those are all commas, that is not a typo. I assure you this is fucking real. The figure represents the total nominal or face value of the shares issued, which is a measure of the share capital of the company, not its asset value. It also says that the amounts unpaid are 0. Either way, assigning that level of value to shares is staggering.
I want to remind you that this is a company that was started via ‘Companies Made Simple, A Division of Made Simple Group LTD’ in the UK, registered in Georgia to ‘Rocket Lawyer Corporate Services’ by a guy who has a dubious work history and office addresses in co-work spaces, and led by an investor who “knows how to hide money”. Billions of dollars in apparent overseas investments within companies that knowingly engage in fraud and money laundering.

Got my passport back with vignette this morning! The worst part of the wait was probably the last 5 hours till the delivery! I'm so happy and excited!!
And of course, figured I'd share timeline and info here since this sub has been immensely helpful to me, both in preparing my application and knowing what to expect.

Timeline:

🌟Application forwarded to UKVI: 12/4/24
🌟ECO email: 30/4/24 🌟Paid inquiry: 3/5/24 (awaiting decision)
🌟Shipment email: 8/5/24
🌟Passport received: 9/5/24
🌟Total time from bio to passport received: 20 working days!
Our application was pretty straightforward but here's what we submitted and some details about our particular situation, hopefully it will be helpful to someone out there! We submitted all the documents online.
🌟Sponsor and applicant passport bio pages. (Even though I have traveled in the last 10 years, I didn't need to provide any more passport pages.)
🌟Sponsor's divorce decree.
🌟Cover letter by my sponsor going over our relationship timeline, information about their job, and some information about their overall financial situation.
(We used a template for the overall format, there are lots available if you search for them!)
🌟Marriage certificate, of course.
🌟One word document with four photos of us together. (Two were selfies, family and friends in two of them. One was our wedding. I included a description for each photo.)
🌟The receipts for my flight to visit them in the UK and their flight to visit me in the US.
🌟For accommodation, as my sponsor owns their place, we provided a letter from them showing that I would be allowed to stay there and a mortgage statement.
🌟For employment, our situation was a bit unusual as they had worked for the same employer both through an agency and under a contract with the employer.
We explained why the payslips were under the name of the agency in the cover letter and provided a letter from both the agency and employer with all of the relevant information. We also included a letter about their recent pay increase.
🌟Six months of pay slips as they had worked the job for 6 months and we were applying under category A.
🌟Six months of bank statements.
We were also anxious that our age gap (18 years) might be an issue, but we didn't even acknowledge it in our cover letter and it clearly wasn't an issue.

Greetings Lads and Lasses,
As the title suggests, I am looking to gather up a group of forever DM’s looking for a quality game to be a player in. If you’ve been stuck in the DM seat for years, and just want to be a player in a good, long term campaign for once, I may have the game just for you.
I am planning to put together a campaign based primarily on what the players want to achieve and play through. I have several prepared that the potential players can choose, but if none of them fit the dynamic that the players want, I can make a new one pretty quickly. So I don’t have anything to say about the campaign specifically, except that it will most likely be a fairly traditional sword and sorcery theme.
What I do have to talk about, is the system this campaign will be held in. It isn’t one of the classic systems, but instead, is a currently unpublished, late in development unique take on the d20 model. The primary focus of which is absolute freedom in character creation and customization. If you are tired of the simplicity of 5e but don’t quite want to step all the way back into the crunch of 3.5, my system should be exactly the kind of thing you are looking for.

There’s so much more that I could say about the system, but there are a few other things to mention, and this post is already running long. So, next I will tell you a bit about what you can expect of me as a DM.
My biggest priority is good roleplay, and a compelling narrative. I love having players take an active interest in the story, and in the NPC’s involved in it, as well as each other. I do a blend of prep and improv, and always try to incorporate player backstories into the games as much as possible. I place a heavy emphasis on down time activities, and giving players the breathing room and time to pursue their personal goals. Going after backstory big bads, establishing businesses, building home bases and even settlements, working on improving crafting skills and creating items, are all on the table and things I encourage my players to do and thoroughly enjoy. My intention is for my world to feel real and lived in, and when my players engage with that, it makes me very happy.
I’ve been playing TTRPG’s in general for 20 years, and DM’ing for 10. I would call myself a Grognard, except I’ve recently found that half the people in the hobby use that word in a derogatory manner. I don’t quite belong to the Old Guard, as I only got my start in 2004 with 3.5, but I certainly share some similar beliefs in that the game should be challenging in order for the rewards to feel well earned. Your characters are not safe from death in my campaigns - not to say that I make it a priority. Player Vs DM mentality is toxic as all hell, but if there is no threat of character death or consequence of failure, I don’t believe there is any true thrill in success.
While roleplay is my passion, I certainly do not neglect combat. Rolling dice and killing monsters is half the fun, and I make it challenging. I don’t typically run multiple easy combat encounters per day, that’s not my style. I far prefer one or two big encounters every couple of in game days, that have a relatively high amount of risk and challenge. And combat in this system can be brutal, I don’t subscribe to the design philosophy of weak hitting monsters that are just big sacks of HP to chew through. Most of my monsters have weaknesses to take advantage of, monstrous features that give them unique mechanics or challenges to deal with; fights can be almost like a puzzle to solve. But you better do it quick, because they tend to hit hard. If you don’t work together as a team and support each other, characters will die.
While I have been DMing and developing the system over the last 10 years, I’ve also used the opportunity to do it all inside of one homebrew world. Continents, cities, NPCs, events, dungeons, all have been explored in great detail, and left me with a mountain of content to call upon at a moment's notice if needed. The world is expansive, the lore is deep, I basically have 10 years of prep time ready to go before the game begins.

I know the post was long, and there are probably a few things in it that might turn some people away, but thats fine. I far prefer quality over quantity of interest. I'm pissed so apologies if this is too much of a rant to be allowed on here but I CANNOT be the only small business owner here annoyed with Quickbooks. I just recently converted to quickbooks to streamline my business and help me be more prepared come tax time. Having come from running invoices in Square and expenses on a spreadsheet, I figured having everything in one location would make life so much easier but it has been the exact opposite. The app is constantly opening up as if I just signed up for the first time throwing tutorial after tutorial at my face. Receipts do not update when categorized. Mileage tracking never ends. It feels like Quickbooks compared to Turbotax is leagues behind in user experience and everything is overcomplicated. Invoice templates take way too many steps to change, ACH just doesn't work for reasons? The dashboard is an absolute clusterfuck and now the checking account is a nightmare. I have vendors with invoices days overdue because Greendot, the bank used by QB cannot approve these transactions. I never get fraud text alerts just straight up declined transactions and I've spent the last 2 days in constant loop with customer support where they supposedly white list my vendors. Ask me to wait an hour, then the same thing still happens and they are absolutely clueless on what to do.

Bit of a rant, apologies. Twice in the last month I've had interviews for roles out in the sticks who required some travel and expenses (in one case last minute changing to in person rather than remote interviewing). In both cases before the interview the teams were super accommodating, happily paying for a hotel and train in one case, and both told me to get a cab for the last leg and expense it. In both cases after the interview I sent the receipts in and they ghost me. In one case the company booked the frigging cab!
Now, I can claim these back via the jobcenter but I'm savvy. Otherwise I'd be out like 90 pounds. I'm going to wind up going to Glassdoor and Indeed and anyone else who will listen and complain and give a bad impression of the companies and their graduate programs that is otherwise totally undeserved for the sake of pocket change. Please don't do this with your interviewees, it seems like incredibly false economy and is just scummy.

FAQ

What is a playtest card?
First and foremost a playtest card is a card that is NOT designed for use in an official capacity. It is usually made to test something, such as a new mechanic or card type. In our community, we test new styles, artwork, and frames with existing cards. For example, we might make a playtest card exploring what a card from the alpha set would look like in a Kaldheim frame. Playtest cards are often confused with proxy cards, though the names have become more or less interchangeable it is important to note that actual proxy cards have an official use (to temporarily replace a damaged card during a competitive match) while playtest cards do not.
What the heck is a bleed edge?
MPC requires that images you send them for printing include an extra 1/8th of an inch on each edge. This accounts for the print bleed edge, and it’ll be cut off as part of the manufacturing process. More info on how to apply a bleed edge can be found in the wiki.
Can I use playtest cards when I play in MTG competitions?
No. It could potentially get you banned from future events. Some local stores may have different rules, however, that is something to discuss with them.
Can I use playtest cards when I play MTG with friends?
Yes! It is comparable to printing cards on paper and sleeving them over top of real cards. As with all things you should discuss this with your group first.
Do I need to buy playtest cards?
No. The WOTC fan content policy and our own rules are very clear on this. The cards we make here must, by their nature, be available for free. Anyone trying to sell you playtest or proxy cards, especially if they try to point you towards a proxy store, is trying to scam you./
It should be noted that some people make their own completely custom playtest cards and host them behind a paywall. This is different from a proxy store which often just lifts work from people on subs like this. Work from these individuals can't be found here unless it's been made avaliable for free.
How do I print playtest cards?
You can either use a printing service or print at home with the help of some basic supplies. Most of the guides and tools here are geared towards the printing service makeplayingcards.com.
There are dotted red lines on my card preview in MPC. Is this normal?
Yes! The red dotted line is completely normal. It only indicates areas that might get cut off in the event of a catastrophic printing error (you'd need a earthquake to cut that much off)

I've followed the wiki, but which card stock should I choose?
There are more than a few options to choose from. Fortunately, u/VorstTank has your back with their excellent Card Stock Review. Don't want to read more? jump to the tl;dr. Don't even want to do that?.. but... fine... S33 or S27. There. Happy? Good.
Is there an easy way to put together a printing set?
Yes! MPCfill.com is a tool for generating orders. Simply enter a card list and mpcfill will show you a list of available playtest options for said cards, options found on mpcfill are indexed from community members' google drives. In this way, mpcfill also acts as the most comprehensive and up-to-date database of community cards. (Despite this, not everyone has their cards available on mpcfill so it is also recommended you browse the subreddit and discords)
Can I make a playtest card?
Absolutely! We are always happy to see new creators join the fold. CONTRIBUTING TO MPCfill

So you made some cards and you'd like to get them hosted on MPCfill? Well here's what you gotta know:
  1. Your drive must meet the following standards:
    • All cards must be named as follows "Card Name (additional info)" \ \
    Example:\ \
    Hornet Queen (synth version) * All proxy images must be MPC formatted (have the 1/8th bleed edge) * None of your proxy images can contain a copyright line * Have at least 20 proxy images in the google drive you wish to share * Have no proxy images over 30mb (the site can't index these) * Have proxy images with an average DPI above 600, the recommended is 800+ * Token images ONLY in a folder called "Tokens" * Card back images ONLY in a folder called "Cardbacks" * Any folders on your drive that DON'T contain proxies must be prefixed with "!", for example: "!Templates" * Don't rip proxy images from other creators and put them on your drive\ \

Landlord threatening to evict me because I refuse to pay someone to power wash the whole home. To give background, it’s a two family home. One side I occupy, other side is “owner” occupied. There is no lease because technically the “owner” next door does not own the home yet. It’s being “gifted” to her by her father end of the year. Does she have any leverage to evict me especially since she technically does not own the house? Rent is always on time if not early. I pay for electric, trash, all utilities, etc. I have receipts of rent for the last 4 years of me living here as well as all receipts for bills paid, etc.
