I'm in my bed, and I remembered that I made a post here asking opinions about a situation that I was in 2~3 years ago. It is a small post, but a Tl;dr: DMs GF was a problem player with Main Character Syndrome in a One Shot and I was worried that in the campaign that I was entering she would continue to be a Problem Player, and the signs I was receiving didnt help.
Here is an update of that small post.

Elf and Triton - two normal players of the Old DM campaign that were nice to play with
New DM - First Time DM in another campaign, and one of my friends that played the One Shot and didn't like it
Wizard - New rpg Player that joined New DM's campaign
Ent - Another friend that played the One Shot and also didn't like it
Me - Me
This campaign that I entered was a "module" adventure. The Old DM decided that he wanted to play all the quests in Ghost of the Saltmarsh as an adventure, and I was fine with it. As I said in the old post, it had already started, and I entered late as I was a substitute because one player was kicked out. For that reason, I went into the game already prepared to not have my BG be of any significance to the plot of the adventure. I just created a character that I thought it was fun with a BG that I liked, but it wasn't that important. The campaing had 4 players already: Girlfriend, Chaos, Elf and Triton.
The first session had a good start. I liked the Elf and Triton characters, and Girlfriend wasn't a problem. She was the captain of the crew, but she didn't boss anyone around, and I liked the interactions that I was having with the party. We received a mission to go investigate an island, and so we went. We got there, a fight with skeletons happened, we won, and continued exploring.
And here, the problems start to happen.
There, we find a strange looking guy that runs off. We follow him and find a hideout. When we enter, there are a ton of guys. We stop and try talking to them when Chaos just decides to shoot one of them and fight starts again. We managed to make them surrender after killing the leader. And again, just because he was "evil," Chaos decided to shoot one more guy when they had already surrendered. This made me mad, but the session was over after this.
And the the second problem appears: the next session took over one month to happen. Every weekend, someone had an excuse not to participate, especially Girlfriend, and so we didn't play for a long time. This was a recurring thing after the second session: almost every session day, Girlfriend had an excuse not to want to play, and we always had to postpone.
Finally, we got together to play the second session. And one good thing happened: Chaos was kicked from the group. Later, I found out that he had a fight with Girlfriend and Old DM for personal reasons. But it was one less psycho character to deal with, so I was relieved. The second session started, and we explored the hideout when we found a secret passage to a mini dungeon. One thing important to say is: we play on FoundryVTT, and Old DM LOVES maps and token based exploration, and I'm the complete opposite. I'm more of a "tell me what I see and where I can go" kind of player. But I know this is a preference and I don't see this as a problem. The problem is with players that can not wait and are extremely anxious when they have a token and have to speed run the exploration with it.
And that is exactly how Girlfriend is.
She started to run with her token on the map like a speedster, and every 15 seconds, the dm had to pause the VTT and tell her what she sees or activate a trap that she didn't bother to search. We couldn't explore shit because she had already run head first to the area. She always had to be the first. As this was the first time I saw this happening, I didn't pay much mind. I thought that she would learn not to do this after activating half a dozen traps, but it was a constant problem.
When we arrived at the end of this mini dungeon, my character had a vision, and this made me think that my BG would be explored, and it put me in another mindset for the character and the campaign. We go back to Saltmarsh, and the session ends.
After this, a friend of my, New DM, wanted to DM an adventure that she read and liked it, and it was her first time DMing. I had free time to play both campaigns, so I accepted, and so did Old DM and Girlfriend. In this new campaign, the players were Me, Old DM, Girlfriend, Ent and later, Wizard. In this game, Girlfriend made an anti-social character, and then got mad that no one interacted with her when all characters didn't know each other. She then does an 180 on her character personality and tries to boss the group around. In this campaign, she would swear and fight Old DM's character for no reason, and he would just laugh it off while it was disconfortable for the rest of the table. Later in the campaign, Ent drops it, saying that he didn't have time anymore, but months later, he tells me that he didn't want to play with Girlfriend anymore.
Now, this second campaign is important because it was when I noticed that when something didn't go the way she wanted, she would:
1 - Fight with Old Dm
2 - "Turn off" from the rpg (still be on call, but saying the minimum possible, like she doesn't want to be there)
And it happened on the Old DM's campaign.
When the sessions from the 1st campaign returned, there were 2 sessions where she just "turned off." It was painful to play. There was a moment where in the middle of a combat, I had to tell her to pay attention or just quit the call if she didn't want to play, because it's horrible to play with people that don't want to, it brings the mood of the whole table down.
After this, I talked about all my problems with Old DM. I said that this wasn't the first time that I had a problem in the way she acts in sessions, and if it happened one more time, I would quit. He said he would talk to her.
The next sessions for both campaigns came, and she stopped doing the "turn off" thing. But the Exploration problem came back. Again, she would do the things alone, always wanting to be everywhere at once, doing everything.
In the 2nd campaing, Wizard joined in a session with a force loss. New DM was still learning and made mistakes, and it made the first experience of Wizard with RPGs not so great.
And it all came crashing down in the last session that I participated in both campaigns
In the 1st campaing, she still wanted to do everything by herself and be mad at the Old DM when things didn't go the way that she wanted. I was at my limit.
And in the 2nd campaing, the last session was Chaotic. She would use Metagame to try to block players to do what they want, she would fight and swear at Old DM and remove every choice that Wizard made. Later that week, Wizard snapped when New DM asked her if she needed help in RP. Her first experience with RPGs filled with railroad, players removing her agency and weird table vibes.
When New DM told me and Old DM in a Discord Call what Wizard said to her, Old DM tried to make Wizard look 100% in the wrong, but I had to interfere. I said that, while she was rude in the way she snapped, she had a reason to be that mad, and I listed the problems that happened in that session and that it was mostly Girlfrienss fault. After that, I said to him that the talks he had didn't work and that I would be quitting his campaign. I prepared a letter that my character left on the boat for the other players and stopped playing.
I remember Old DM trying to make me stay in the campaign saying that "but the next arc will have your BG", because he just did that interaction with my bg in the second session and then went months ignoring my character story. But I said to him that using my BG as a "bribe" wouldn't work.
2nd campaign died in that last session, too.
After that, 1 month later, Elf and Triton left the 1st campaign as well, with Elf giving him the same reason that I gave. So I wasn't the only player in that table that didn't stand playing with her.
And that's it. I'm still friends with everyone in this story, I don't have anything against Girlfriend outside RPGs. Old DM called me to play one shot with them again, but I said that I would not play RPGs with Girlfriend again. He understood that me and her don't mix well in games, so he doesn't try anymore.
Now I'm playing another campaign with Old DM, but this time, Girlfriend isn't playing. And in this campaign I'm having some problems too, but again is the player side and it's another story.

Hi everyone. I'm unfortunately part of this club, now. DDAY was Feb 18th, 2024. Three weeks after I relocated to another state to continue our life together.
The (Very Long) Backstory:
WP (37M) and I (34F) met online in an MMORPG, October '22. It was a few days before my birthday, and while I was already in an online, LDR at the time, I was spending a lot of my time alone. WP and I met when I caught him looking at my character profile and started talking. I made it very clear at the start that I had no interest in betraying my partner (EX), and that for me, all online interactions were to be in-character only, with logs. WP honored that boundary and kept his distance from me, limiting our out-of-character (OOC) chatter. Our characters interacted with hellos and goodbyes, telling stories of their origins, sharing battles on the frontier, etc. Adventurer exposition things, no shenanigans.
At the beginning of the next month, Nov '22, my previous OLDR of 2.5 years came to an abrupt end for unrelated reasons. Once the pandemic lock downs were over, conversations about meeting in person became more serious. I essentially found out that EX had no real intentions about ever meeting me in person. I also found out EX had already removed me from all of his social media before proceeding to suddenly block me. I got in contact with him afterwards for an explanation, but despite his backpedaling, it was already a done deal for me. I knew it was time to begin the grieving process and move on.
WP and I didn't talk again until around the end of Nov '22, where he came by to see how I was doing and if I was still interested in role play (RP). I was, and needing to get my mind off of things, we became friends and allowed the more in-depth version of the story of our characters to be written.
Around the end of Dec '22, WP and I worked on getting to know each other. We'd talk OOC about our lives, our situations, and our goals, and soon discovered that we were what each other was looking for. We talked about meeting IRL started, and I warned WP that I was still fresh out of a relationship, and while I never met EX, I would still need to give myself time to properly grieve the loss. WP understood, and reassured me to grieve as much as I needed to. We also made plans for WP to visit in Feb '23.
February came and went. At this point, I was accepting how things with EX and I ended, and was welcoming thoughts of a future with WP. By the time WP visited, we had already agreed it was a testing-the-waters meeting to see if we even liked each other. We did, and we had a great week together.
When WP went back to his home state, closure conversations continued with EX that WP was aware of (probably bargaining, now that I look back on it). In March '23, I eventually unfriended EX and removed him from any remaining social media. I told WP, and he seemed happy that I was finally deciding to put it all behind me. WP also expressed interest in wanting an exclusive relationship. I did too, and told him to ask me when he visited again.
EX added me back about a week after that talk, asking if we could agree on distancing ourselves, go LC, but remain friends. I was okay with this since we never met IRL. I then checked in with WP about this arrangement. WP confirmed that he was also fine with it and said he was confident that I wouldn't go back to EX, anyway. WP was right to be confident. Even today, my friendship with EX is transparent and consists of memes, funny YT videos, and the occasional "How are you? Good? Ok, ttyl." There has been no flirting, no reminiscing, or talk about our personal lives.
Soon, we made plans for WP to visit in May '23, around the same time when I moved out of my apartment at the time and went to temporarily live with my family to save money.
May '23 came and went, and we shared another great week together. WP asked me to be his GF, I agreed, and that was the official start of our relationship. After he went home, we started planning our in-game wedding, and married our characters in June '23. We would talk every night, play together whenever he had free time outside of work, keep up our nighttime routine, and did as much as we could to make the distance bearable until our next visit. This time, I visited in July '23 around the time of his birthday. Another great visit, and when I visited again in Nov '23 for two weeks, we got engaged. After lots of conversation around who would move where, and which choice would be most economic/financially sound, we agreed that I would relocate to his state.
My life's circumstances truly fell in place and ended up favoring that decision. I was able to successfully relocate by end of Jan '24 and even had a new job waiting for me.
In Feb '24, WP asked me to take a closer look at his laptop since it had some audio issues. It was having problems since Nov '22 and I was more than happy to diagnose what was wrong. Once I found some free time, I logged in to be greeted by his messenger popping up on load. That's when I saw the long list of chats and their most recent message previews. At this point, I couldn't believe what I was seeing and clicked around some. I saw enough. I had to close the messenger and decided continue to repair the laptop as I processed this new information.
I confronted him about what I saw that night and asked for us to go through his phone, insisting that WP not delete anything (he tried to). All it took was a few explicit keyword searches to uncover that this has been going on since we met and continued well into the same night/day of my flight to relocate.
Where We Are Now:
I took some time to reflect and do my detective work. After I confronted him, WP came clean and gave me access to all of his social media and messengers, left his phone with me and gave me as much time as I needed to make sense of it all. He insisted that nothing happened in person, and that all of what he did was online only.
I'm willing to pardon what happened from Oct '22 - March '23, since we were testing the waters with each other. I am even willing to give it a transitional pardon between March and May, in between his desire to be exclusive, and us making it official during his second visit.
When we talked, there were a few major takeaways:

• I feel like I was bamboozled into relocating and that I was deceived into making an uninformed decision.
• The foundation of our relationship has crumbled, and I'm confused about who I was getting to know this whole time. He feels like a stranger to me.
• For WP to claim to be someone so vehemently against infidelity, it shocked me to see that he was the #1 offender.
• I need him to provide tangible proof from a story of his past to be certain that he has told me the truth about who he is. This isn't something that I needed him to prove before, but after DDay, it has become a requirement for me to continue with R and rebuilding trust.
  • Keep in mind, this ask is apparently a "deal breaker" for him. Well, infidelity was a "deal breaker" for me, and something I informed him of many times before we made it official. Yet here I am, at his request, to work on R and give him another chance.

I can honestly say that if WP was transparent with me about what he got up to online once I went to sleep (I checked the timestamps), opened up about his feelings and insecurities, and disclosed his intentions, I wouldn't have felt so betrayed. I did a lot of soul searching, and came to terms that it wasn't what he did that upsets me. It's that he hid it from me this entire time, and that it went so far. That he continued to reach out to random women up until the same day of my flight.
WP also mentioned that he wasn't going to tell me about any of this and put it behind him once I moved in. He keeps calling it a "bad habit that he needed to stop a long time ago" but because he was unsure about where I stood with EX, he used the OAs to protect his feelings. That sentiment took my psyche for a ride, considering all of my interactions with EX after our relationship ended were disclosed to WP, screenshots and all. I would have cut off contact if WP told me how he felt back then, but knowing what I know now, it makes my head spin realizing we were operating on a double standard.
While he was out having his cake and eating it too, there was also an expectation for me and my character to remain only for him.
I think most of why I'm posting is feeling the need to finally get this whole thing off my chest and get some advice from people not as close to this as I am. I want to heal from this and have a successful R, but I can't get past this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that I'm overlooking something crucial.

TL;DR: I met my WP online, and found out (after relocating) that he has been having x-rated OAs during our entire LDR with multiple (20+) random women online. I'm willing to overlook what happened during a certain time frame, but I can't say the same for the time after we agreed to be exclusive. I feel blindsided by DDay, and I'm still struggling with what to think about the betrayal and R.

I recently passed step 1 - I was tempted to sign up for some random online courses, and ended up wasting money. This is my concise, honest advice on how to prepare - Taking the best parts of the different resouraces available. If I had to distill my advice down to a single line: Trust the NBMEs. 2. Genetics, Molmed and cellular biology: Use first Aid to review this. If you have any issues, go to the boards and beyond videos.

2. Basic principles – use first aid and Boards and beyond if you don’t get it.

Pathology:
1. Use Pathoma chapter 1-3 videos – the book is good too, don’t focus too much on first aid.

Immunology:
1. Start with Pathoma chapter 2 – chronic inflammation and autoimmune conditions first.
2. Once you have that down, go to first aid for hypersensitivity disorders and to fill in the blanks.

Micro:
1. Sketchy. I wouldn’t bother with first aid. Between sketchy and Uworld you will get everything you need.
~Systems~

In General:
1. Use first aid for the Anatomy and Physiology – if you need more help, check out related BnB videos.
2. Pharm and Micro: Use Sketchy. Sketchy pharm also helps A LOT with the physiology too.
3. Pathoma for pathology of each section.

Exceptions:
1. Neuro:
a. For neuro, I would go straight to Boards and Beyond and watch all the lectures using first aid as a reference book – annotate as you need. You can skip the anatomy ones and use the HY Neuroanatomy PDF (see below).
b. Still use sketchy pharm etc for the drugs, but instead of pathoma and reading first aid, I’d focus on boards and beyond.

2. Musculoskeletal: First aid – don’t bother with anything else.
3. Reproductive: For the embryology in this section, use the dirty medicine embryology videos.

Phase 1 – go through First aid as above. Remember you are not memorizing it.
· Study a section so you understand it – then do a 40 question Uworld block just to learn to answer the questions and apply your knowledge. Do the block in Untimed Tutor mode.
· Do a few bacteria and a few drug classes a day if you can with sketchy.

Do a Uworld Self Assessment (1 or 2) under strict exam conditions – aim for above 60%

Phase 2 – Finish off Uworld in random timed test mode.
· At the end of each 40 question block, review the answers – stuff you know well, keep moving. Other stuff, spend more time.
· Click the red flag ‘mark’ on questions or topics that are troublesome (I never had time to go back to them, but just in case, do this from the beginning).
· Do NBME 26 online a month or so after your Uworld Self Assessment and aim for 65%.

Phase 3 – NBMEs, free 120, HY Arrows and HY ethics document
· The last month of studying - Go through NBME 20-31 question by question.
· Make sure you do an online NBME a week to make sure your scores are over 70%
· Go through the HY Arrows and Ethics PDFs – they are super helpful; a lot comes out of them in the exam. Do a few questions a day on those, just read and understand.
· Two days before the exam, do the ‘free 120’ on the website. Also do the old 120 (see the NBME folder, they are all there – you can do the most recent one on the USMLE website) https://orientation.nbme.org/launch/usmle/stpf1

Exam Day:
1. Do the tutorial in the Free 120 practice before – so skip it on the day, it adds 15 minutes or so to your break time total.
2. Consists of 7 x 1-hour blocks of 40 questions. You can take your breaks any time between the blocks, as long as you are at the end of a block.
3. Take snacks, water, red bull – whatever you need. You store it in a locker outside, and can have food and drink in breaks.

I hardly post online, especially my personal business.. So please bare with me. I would like others' opinions on an ethical question. Would you consider it a form of child abuse or neglect if a parent intentionally raises a child in poverty when there are obvious available options such as Medicaid, food stamps, and even denies themselves the opportunity to receive child support from an "absent" father? (I use quotes because I truly believe it was a well thought out plan for the father not to be involved, to the point where the father probably doesn't even know the kid exists). Someone very close to me, now close to 40 years old, has never met his dad, was taught to believe his dad was in the military (where she got pregnant) and he went Mia, dishonorable discharge. From what I've read, you can't easily track those people.. So seems like a super convenient story. Anyways.. So my main focus on this topic is.. He is so obsessed with being this certain type of person and his reasonings ALWAYS end up being something on the lines of "I didn't have much as a child, we sometimes didn't have heat or food, my mom busted her *** making sure we survived, etc etc. As you can imagine.. Yes he's a classic mama's boy. Owes his LIFE to his mom. Would do ANYTHING for her. It's all about her. She calls and texts him daily, knows his schedule day by day, etc. OK.. So back to the poverty. I personally know that whenever you participate in food stamps or any government assistance they go after the father for support. I truly believe this was planned. She doesn't want him to know him, to find him. And by getting government assistance.. That would give him a trail to find him. Something is so fishy about all of this. I know he goes through spurts of wanting to find him, then changes his mind and says he doesn't. I know he's just confused and hurt.. And it all comes down to.. His mom is a sh***y covert nasty narcissist who planned to have him and keep him all to herself until she dies. He's afraid to marry me because she won't approve. She often refers to HIS children as if they are THEIR kids they reproduced together. Example "haha you should've heard our kid yesterday, he said he wanted to be an electrician like his daddy". (puke sounds). OK.. I'm letting my feelings get involved I will stop for now, even though there is soooo soo much more. Any details you wish to ask.. First time doing anything with a website.
The new chairman of the martial arts federation I belong to wants to move into the modern age and speed up the delivery of information for members by moving away from faxes and the postal service.
I foolishly mentioned aloud that I agreed with this idea and was promptly hired to make the site. By hired I mean told to do this.
Budget is 30,000 yen which basically covers the cost of hosting the site. (I don't mind working for free so my fee isn't the problem.)I know nothing about web design and making a website, but was told "how hard could it be, everyone has one". Since I know nothing about coding I tried WIX and Webflow. WIX worked ok, but was clunky to use and didn't deal with the Japanese language well.I also know nothing about using Webflow other than what I've learned from watching the Webflow University 21-day course. Currently I've finished 30% of the course. It seems to be less clunky than WIX so I am happy.
With the background somewhat filled in here are my questions:How well does Webflow deal with non-English languages, specifically Japanese? The finished site will be in Japanese only, but will be built in English.
Ideally they want one site that offers a general overview of the martial art, and common features such as national tournament information, seminar information, etc., and then 47 sub-sites, one for each prefecture, that offer local information for that prefecture, local tournament information, dojo locations, etc.
How hard would it be to build a site similar to this site? It was built in WordPress but is close to what they want the site to look like.
Is it possible to do this in Webflow?How crazy high will the costs be?

I read a bit about psychology and I happened to come across the theory of relational attachment. I see myself as the type of person in this theory who is scared of losing friends or that over the long run I just know eventually it will fall apart, which confuses me because I don't really feel empathy or feel love much. I am both an introvert and an extrovert I believe and I see myself as a imaginative person as well as a analytical thinker (they are both to an obsessive level I believe). What I want to improve on is my empathy because I think I lost it after years of social isolation and people that have bullied me. It's like I don't feel love or empathy from others and it is just very tiny amounts of it I feel. I don't feel satisfaction from compliments very much and I actually sometimes feel annoyed when someone gives me one because it feels like they aren't being honest to me. I also have this obsession of how our minds may not have free will and that I'm stuck in a paradox of how I could potentially be an evil person to someone else because my choices reflect what my past was, but I also have the feeling it is good to be honest to someone but yet again I hate the idea of hurting people even when it's necessary at times to do. I feel almost numb to empathy, yet I really care about not hurting people so much, I want them to understand I'm being honest to them. I sometimes feel like I'll go crazy thinking about how if there is a God, that he would allow some of the best people in the world to go through suffering for NO reason. The reason this goes with this is because it's a paradox of how it is necessary to hurt people in life to do better, but their suffering is a result from their lack of control in free will that is in the brain.

Soo I've identified as aromantic from sometime now, I always said I was in the spectrum since I knew I may could experience romantic attraction but since I never fell in love I wasn't 100% sure, but the time came ! I fell in love with my best friend but I think it made things a little harder for me. I don't really remember when I started to have feelings for her honestly, but what I can say is it started when we we're 2 years into out friendship. We talked a lot in a groupchat we have with our friends and we played together from time to time. It was a surprise to me to fall in love with someone since it's the first time I've felt like this, I don't think I have ever had a friend like her, she understands me like no other and she feels almost like my soulmate. Now, even if is a little embarrassing to say, I can wholeheartedly say I'm so head over heels for her, but then again, what label fits me the best? I know I don't necessarily have to label myself but to be honest, labels just comfort me somehow hehe
I don't know if the feelings started because we shared a strong bond since I think we weren't like the bestest of friends back then (even if now we are), I feel they just appeared out of nowhere...? But it still confuses me a little T__T

i always see people citing apex lore's "grabbing moment"--when apex lore finally Got Good, and they truly got invested in it--as The Broken Ghost. and its "losing moment"--when it Got Bad, and people stopped caring--as The Legacy Antigen (or more specifically: an event started by The Legacy Antigen, i.e; love triangle, Crypto age retcon).
i think, broadly speaking, this is true for many people's lore experience, particularly because The Broken Ghost and The Legacy Antigen encompass one pandemic year. for most people, lockdown, when they had nothing to really do, is when they really got into apex lore, and when those restrictions started getting lifted (as far the US goes, anyway) is when they fell out of being so invested because life resumed. people recalling seasons 5-9 as The Good Year of apex just makes sense.
but i think in the long run it's generally a super reductive thing to say. The Broken Ghost was THE first big lore event, but there were multiple moments before--the season 2 trailer and set-up to Crypto fucking up the Games, Wraith and Bloodhound's STFOs, Revenant's introduction. maybe for some people it started even earlier than those story beats--reading about Wraith's amnesia, Mirage's mom, Lifeline's inner conflict.
and The Legacy Antigen absolutely did have extremely controversial choices--Crypto's age retcon infamously killed a decent chunk of the community, and the ensuing love triangle still has people groaning about it like 2 years after it was last focused on. the lack of follow-up to anything the season after was rough, too.
but is that when it actually "got bad", or just when people didn't have the time to put up with it anymore? what about the anticlimactic follow-up to season 5? season 6 being...weird? some absolutely silly plotlines in season 7? the Literally Unfinished comic in season 8? were those really that good too? was The Broken Ghost actually ever that good or did it just kind of grab your attention because you had nothing else going on? and on the contrary, was The Legacy Antigen and the storylines it spawned, actually That Bad or did it just coincide with you returning to school, or work, or your daily life and then you no longer really had the time to invest in the storyline of a battle royale?
to clarify i do absolutely think (in my own subjective opinion) that apex lore has fallen off and become disappointing in the past few years. i'm not here to argue New Apex Lore Is Really Good Actually. im also not trying to argue Sike, Apex Lore Has Always Been Bad.
i just want to hear more nuance from the community on the subject of "when did apex get good?" and "when did apex get bad?" as opposed to the broad "oh this was The One Year people actually cared" statement ive seen echoed in other subs and also occasionally this one.. i feel as though the writers have probably seen this sentiment and thats why theyre trying to do Big Apex Lore Events--and also subsequently why for some people these developments are falling flat.
when did you become personally invested in apex lore? like which moment made you think "wow, i can't wait to see where this goes"? was it a big event, or something smaller? did anything else test this interest of yours until you finally gave up?
when did you stop caring so much? what made you roll your eyes and decide you didn't actually care about the story anymore? did anything afterwards make you consider re-investing? did you ever even have this moment or are you still fully invested?
if you answer The Broken Ghost--why? was it because it was new? actually gripping? suddenly finding yourself with a load of free time? the idea of PVE? or were you interested in an aspect of lore before and TBG made you excited about its potential?
same for losing interest around The Legacy Antigen. was it actually that bad or did you just find some of it kind of silly? were you still interested in future seasons and their storylines but kind of stopped putting so much time into the lore because life was resuming for a lot of people?
im not saying the pandemic is ultimately responsible for peoples' positive opinions on TBG nor the pandemic restrictions lifting are responsible for TLA recieving a mixed reaction, and im sure the grabbing/losing moment for most people will generally be between seasons 5-9 considering they were some of the most Lore Dense seasons.
just that, me personally, i feel as though seasons 5-8 are viewed through these rose-colored glasses--when Apex got good, when it was at its best--because people had the time to sit in season 6 and read about two fucking idiots who are part of a triangle, suffering from The Miscommunication Trope, AND read about a love triangle. pull that shit 6 months later in season 9 when i gotta go back to work? actually im too old for this. The Fall Of Apex Legends.
but idk i just wanted to hear why & when people liked (and then stopped liking) the lore with more interesting answers than "the broken ghost" / "the legacy antigen".
and obviously you're here, so you must care about apex lore, even if just a tiny bit. but at what point did you sigh and say "well this isnt getting any better"?
personally--apex really got me with wraith's SFTO and the idea of finishing character stories in animated videos like a mini series (coming off an overwatch hyperfixation where character arcs were uhhhh nonexistent). it...tested my patience, to put it lightly, with the age retcon and then seer having zero lore. but the tipping point was season 13, with THE JACKSON REVEAL(tm) and the subsequent forcing of mirage into bangalore's place in wraith's story. still salty.

I am very interested in joining the union for carpentry but have no experience.
My reason for wanting to join the union: 1) I want a homestead- a home, greenhouse, chicken coupe, studio for my shop, barn, shed etc made from scratch with as much of my own hands as possible, on my own land. In addition to renovating an rv to travel and live in while I make my homestead livable.
2) I have been serving in restaurants for 13+ years and am looking for something stable with great benefits to career change into that will also benefit my other life goals (i.e. homestead, rv for living and travel) and allow me to use what I have learned to help and educate women in my community.
I see Georgia has a local carpentry Southeastern Carpentry Regional Council. I am not sure if that is the same a union?
What is the reality of me wanting to join a union without experience? Should I take classes first? Apprentice under someone for free just to get some work in?
What are the hours and work like going in as an apprentice? If the pay is not enough will I have time to get a second job? What should I be prepared for and keep in mind and what is the reality of the job? I would love to learn it all- or should I stick with one area? What happens after the apprenticeship? Is there anything else specific to union work I should be aware of? Is there anything I should avoid or you wish you would have known going in?

With all the fallout craze we decided to play a round of the Fallout board game using the atomic bonds expanison. I knew immidiately when someone suggested it we'd be playing for 4 hours minimum and its going to feel like a slog. Even with the atomic bonds which essentially fixes the broken base game, sifting through the library deck to stage and add cards becomes such a huge chore. I decided I fix the problem and let all of the deck management be handled by an app.
All selections on all the cards have been programmed to properly stage, add, trash or in some cases do some unique deck management. New California expansion is included. I've only tested it once at the table playing the base capital wasteland. 4 player game took 2 hours and had no major or minor bugs.
Features:
Select Scenarios and game will auto stage and auto add.
Select number of players so the add feature operates as it should
Select cards from encounter deck, settlement deck, and 3 out of 4 vault decks. One of them has a gameplay mechanic that requires the physical cards
Select players names so the player inventory (keep this card) feature works as it should (optional)
Add a Quest marker and drag and drop it on cards to track quests on the board. Rightclick on the quest marker to delete it
Undo - reset all decks back to one step previous. note, only actions that change decks can be undone
Stage - manually stage a card. If a bug is noticed you may manully stage a card so the game can continue. Enter the card number in the format: xxx ie 005. note there is no manaully add feature as of now.
Focus - if there are two many cards stage and they are getting to small to read, right click to see it native size center screen. rightclick again to unfocus
Display message - confimation that an action was performed. Adding a display log shortly.
debug messages are still present. If you f12 I have readouts of the status's of decks to check that cards are being added to the correct deck and in the right places. These will remain on until I'm confident all errors have been resolved
planning on adding a blur effect on the encounter and settlement cards until a choice is selected in the near future. right now you just have to look away while someone else reads the card
There are also some limitations and issues. The presentation is fairly basic and is focused more on functionality. Its designed to be viewed on a laptop screen (or larger) at the gametable and has very little responsive design. I have plans to add a better mobile view in the future but to be honest, front-end stuff like that isn't my strong suit. Any one is free to take a crack at it on my github if they want on my github. username xxYETTERxx

There is likely still plently of small bugs/errors throughout the game. I've done plenty of testing but its unlikely all of them have been discovered. If you find one, just let me know. DM or comment here or whatever. I guess if this became popular I'd consider starting a discord but for now I'm just sticking with reddit. Also suggestions for future features are welcome.
Last note. I have no affilation with Fallout, Bethesda, Microsoft or Fantasy Flight games. I'm just a fallout fan and a boardgame fan whose desperately wanted to love this game since it's inital release but couldn't due to its obvious shortcomings. I believe this app addresses many of them and I really hope someone else gets some use out of it. My reason for wanting to join the union: 1) I want a homestead- a home, greenhouse, chicken coupe, studio for my shop, barn, shed etc made from scratch with as much of my own hands as possible, on my own land. In addition to renovating an rv to travel and live in while I make my homestead livable.
2) I have been serving in restaurants for 13+ years and am looking for something stable with great benefits to career change into that will also benefit my other life goals (i.e. homestead, rv for living and travel) and allow me to use what I have learned to help and educate women in my community.
I see Georgia has a local carpentry Southeastern Carpentry Regional Council. I am not sure if that is the same a union?
What is the reality of me wanting to join a union without experience? Should I take classes first? Apprentice under someone for free just to get some work in?
What are the hours and work like going in as an apprentice? If the pay is not enough will I have time to get a second job? What should I be prepared for and keep in mind and what is the reality of the job? I would love to learn it all- or should I stick with one area? What happens after the apprenticeship? Is there anything else specific to union work I should be aware of? Is there anything I should avoid or you wish you would have known going in?

Naught but ruin and depravity remain of these lands. The Accursed Plague ravishes the continent from the frozen wastes to the searing dunes. Lawlessness rules the alleyways and countrysides. On the fringes of civilization creatures, long thought to be extinct, stalk the shadows.
Yet, the gates of the Golden Capital remain shut. Ever since the Divine Emperor, humanity's stout protecter, closed them over a century ago. He abandoned humanity in their moment of need. He and his kin both, the instant their immortality was threatened.
Still, remnants of great noble houses cling to their titles and ranks in a desperate attempt to rekindle the fading embers of a once grand empire. They accomplish nothing but ceaseless bickering, unable- nay, unwilling to find common ground without a rigid leash. All the while rebellion marches on their lands raiding, ravaging and ransacking all in their path.
Humanity wavers on the brink. Kept afloat only by trampling upon the defenseless and the destitute. They turn a blind eye to their wicked deeds, claiming it is all for the greater good. All the while clinging to their idols, the gods, the ever watchful guardians of justice and righteousness. Yet, the gods do not answer.
Some claim these are the endtimes, I can almost taste the fear that hangs in the air, a harbinger of what is yet to come. Still, I see only hope, light, a beginning that will be brighter than any end. No, this is not the end, but a new dawn of infinate potential.
Do you feel it too? Is that the gleam I see in your eyes? That flame that refuses to succumb to despair. Or is it the spark of defiance. Perhaps you are here to condemn me? Do you not see that I am just?

Introduction Heyo! I’m Peter a 23 year old roleplaying game enthusiast who loves the creative outlet and narrative stories playing ttrpgs with friends can provide. I've been playing tapletop games for approaching 5 years now and recently I've been itching to GM some more. Hence why I am gathering some players for an adventure. While I estimate it will take around 4 maybe 5 sessions theres always the option to keep going if the group wants too.
General Info

• Planning to play Monday evenings
• No prior experience with tabletop games or city of mist is needed.
• As long as you can speak english at a understandable rate you’re free to apply, if we can’t verbally communicate I’m afraid playing together will be difficult unfortunately.
• On a similar note as above a functioning microphone that allows others to hear what you are saying is necessary.
• I prefer playing with a webcam on in order to allow for non-verbal communication and stop people from talking on top of each other as often. Though this is not a strict requirement, don’t let it stop you from applying.

Setting The Forsaken Lands is a low magic, dark fantasy, homebrew setting of mine. A world recovering from the fall of a golden age provided by a grand empire. While magic and supernatural forces are certainly present they seem distant and obscure to most people, mostly appearing in legends and myths. In this setting I enjoy exploring aspects such as:

• Grey Morality: the setting is not black and white, pure evil and good does not exist. People have their own ambitions and may choose to take both good and evil actions to reach them. This includes the player characters.
• Political Intrigue: There are large forces, both mortal and supernatural, at play making world sweeping decisions. Wheter or not the players choose interact with them, it will come to impact their characters for better or worse.
• Mortal Characters: Player characters are not superhuman, though they may be a smooth talker, a skilled swordsman or an arcane dabbler they are just as susceptible to a knife in the gut as any other mortal and standing in a dragons fiery breath will reduce them to ash. Navigating the world will require you to consider these risks. Facing a monster without a good plan is likely to get someone killed. However, there will be warnings, your character wont die from a single unlucky dice roll if this concerns you.
• Hope: Though the setting is dark there is still room for hope, cheerfulness and humor, this is not a grimdark setting intent on breaking down your characters til nothing is left. On the contrary your characters will grow due to the adversity they face.

Personal Aspirations
- A friendly table: My most important aspiration is to create a group of friends rather than a couple strangers who meet up to play games every week. This means a group where nobody feels uncomfortable or left out and feels like they can chat with eachother in the discord server outside the sessions themselves about random stuff related or unrelated to the game itself. A group where you can be your self without fear, hate or judgement.
- Encouraging Roleplaying: First of I wish to define my definition of roleplaying. For me roleplaying is not acting. Roleplaying is assuming the role of your character and basing your decisions on the thoughts of that character instead of your own. Thus encouraging roleplaying comes in many forms such as rewards for fleshing out your character, so you get a better understanding of them, but also encouraging you to allow your character to make irrational and unoptimal decisions. Decisions that create new conflicts. Conflicts are the base of any good story and therefore creating them and giving players a connection to them is important. Acting/ voice acting are elements that can add to that experience, but are not necessery for roleplaying in and of itself.
I love playing with others who enjoy roleplaying their characters in this sense. I therefore want roleplaying to be an overarching pillar of my game on which other parts of the the game are based. Combat and roleplaying are not seperated, rather combat is one type of scenario with a certain type of conflict to roleplay based on. The same goes for exploration, negotiation and other types of scenarios not least of which includes room for characters to interact with eachother and get to understand eachother.
- Free and Meaningful Choices: As a player I love the freedom of action ttrpgs allow. Therefore I firmly believe in allowing players the freedom to create, explore and make horrifying mistakes. As an extension of the freedom aspect, freedom itself is meaningless if the choices and actions made do not have important consequences. Thus I like to leave the main goals up to the party itself. All the while I try to seed possible plots so the players don't become completely directionless (emphesis on try, I'm not super experienced). This includes a players' backstory as one of the first major choices they make (thats not to say you can't revise it as we go).
Player Expectations
- Investment: I want players who truly want to participate in driving the story forward and create a story rather than have one served. Remember, this is not my story, this is not just your character's story, this is our story, be invested and buy into it.
- Immersion: A willingness to stay in character as much as possible during sessions (as I mentioned under encouraging roleplaying, this does not necesserily mean acting). I recongnize this can be exhausting however, so there will definetily be room for some breaks during sessions to be yourself and crack some jokes.
- Interaction: Being shy is one thing, playing on your phone and/or not paying attention is another. Be present and participate even in the smaller ways. Again, there will be room for breaks.
- Consideration: Just behave decently and consider other's feelings (don't forget to consider your own feelings too though!)
The Game System
For the game system itself. It will essentially be a mix between City of Mist and Legend in the Mist systems (they are both variations of the same system). I find this system incredible at invoking a narrative and infusing narrative and roleplay into character decisions. It is a story driven system focused on narrative and a improvisational approach, using natural language and common sense to determine the feasibility of player actions. From a DM perspective I enjoy not having to worry about preparing and balancing statblocks and can instead make up obstacles on a moments notice effectively allowing players more freedom when choosing their direction and approaches.
Honestly I'm not that good at explaining it, but if you are interested you might wanna give it a look or simply experience it in play if you do get chosen.
