Anywho, here is what I ended up getting...

1. GMMK 2 Barebones Full Size 96% (Black)

• Once I learned about the QMK/VIA software I made this top priority when picking my MK... the software is just my style... something to tinker with constantly... I'm gonna have macros on macros on macros for both work, and for whatever else crazy ideas I come up with!
  
• Originally wanted a 2.4ghz keyboard so I could chill on the couch/bed and use the laptop on the TV, but giving up on wireless really opened up my options, so yea, sacrificed that this go around...
  
• Needed the num pad (aka dial pad for me) for work... my fav 1800 layout was the Q5 Max, but there was no way I was buying one of their wacky ass profiles... (they could be good, idn, but naaaa)
  
• Wanted to save desk space too, hence starting my quest for sub 100% keyboards... I'm working with 2 beefy cheap ass 27" 1440p monitors, a laptop, full size keyboard, tons of vape juice, and whatever my last meal was... of space... per the crappy monitors... I do have an LG Oled C3 (2023 version) behind me, plan on using this somehow, bought some optical HDMI cables to drape across the room to try with my new laptop that's on the way (more on that below if you care)... another reason why i wanted wireless 2.4ghz initially...
  

1. Panda Tactile Switches (lubed)

• Truth is... I have no idea if I’m going to be a linear or tactile/clicky guy... and what got me into this whole mess was me wanting a silent keyboard to have at my desk (work from home)... something of quality, that worked for personal use/gaming, and something quiet, so my engineers can’t hear me typing (like a 90's kid who basically learned to type on AIM, aka AOL Instant Messenger) while taking notes on calls... I eventually gave up on hunting for silent switches because, a) Hard to find them in pre-builds, b) I've always wanted a tactile/clicky MK and c) seemed like a 'meh' place to enter the scene with.

1. Aura V2 Keycaps (black)

• I would have loved white Aura V2's as they looked to have a sharper legend with the RGB, but all good, I could be wrong/won't matter.
  
• Curious about double shot ABS though... figured it would be best to start with a PBT cap, even if they are pudding caps (I wanted shine through keycaps, this was the other reason I wanted a MK, I'm usually up late and also think it looks cool...
  
• I wanted to get a cherry profile set (still totally guessing on preference here), but I think these are OEM... which is probably a good place to start. I have relatively small hands, and do NOT have a wrist rest... shoot, I should actually get one of those, just trying to save desk space here...
  

1. GSV2 Premium Keyboard Stabilizers

• I read a ton of posts about swapping the stock stabilizers out for this... figured, why not, only 10 bucks, would be a good reason for me to bust this thing open and get my hands dirty.

**BONUS: The whole thing that got me started... I made what some might call a "stupid purchase"... I bought a Legion 9i (gen 9) laptop, fully spec'd out... and before you say I could build 45,000 desktop computers for the same price... I just want to tell you, I WANTED TO!!! but... I need a laptop for work, and kinda also wanted the best of the best... so yea... very excited though!! Have been out of the high-end spec scene for too long! I get the laptop tomorrow! Only thing I need now is a new mouse... but i'm waiting for my lenovo rewards to become available, will prolly buy a superlight or something like that (they were on the lenovo store).

I (31F) and my boyfriend (32M) met each other exactly two years ago. I was in another relationship that by then had gone on for 12 years, not living together, and my marriage proposals or proposals for living together or someday having children were always shut down with "it might be cool", "not now", "I don't have the money", and "seriously, again?" He was my first boyfriend and first sexual experience. Around 5 years ago, I had ambivalence in breaking up with him or not since when I mentioned marriage on a park bench, it was met with a "I never thought about getting married." I bawled in public out of embarrassment and my ex crossed his arms and looked the other way until I stopped.
We had many other incompatibilities and once I started becoming more authentic to my values and hobbies thanks to intensive psychotherapy, my ex began to lash out and try to control me, put me down, threaten to cheat on me and once I decided to break up, began stalking me at my house and cellphone and threatening he would go "wherever you go, I want answers now." I told him everything that was going wrong with the relationship and my personal growth, secrets, etc. so I have no regrets and he knows everything - it just wasn't enough.
During that period of self-exploration and psychotherapy, I started venturing more into stand-up comedy. It was liberating, exciting, fun, and creative. I felt -well, badass. Funny, like my voice mattered, happy. I grew up as a terribly shy, quiet girl and young woman and always submissive to my parent's orders to be a "good" girl, obedient, top in the class, always pushing aside my needs for the sake of the family's dysfunction.
As for the stand-up circuit, yes, it's an all guy-circuit where I live and they dampen it with their misogyny ("tell more sex jokes", "do this", "do that", "you should put on makeup and show your tits", "you need to cater to women"), but I ignored it and would cry after sets alone because my ex didn't support me and ridiculed me about it. I made a friend there, who is now my current boyfriend. We made each other laugh all the time, talked about the world. We even spent a night on the roof top cracking each other up. He's seen me do well on stage and even bomb/fail. It's all good.
Our first date happened around a month after I broke up with my ex. It was INCREDIBLE. We talked all night and got intimate later on. I was so happy having him in my arms, and we couldn't wait for our next date. That entire month I dated other guys and tried to become intimate (I was rejected), but it didn't feel that bad. I just kept thinking in my boyfriend. I wanted to date HIM. He was gentle with me when I told him I had never had sex with anyone else. We spent hours together doing it, I felt like in heaven. We made fun dates and he listened to me, we'd make each other laugh, talk about our dreams and fantasies. He was the funny, charming, assertive, goofy, sexy, proactive, smart outspoken, brave man I wrote about since I was a teen, or I'd see in movies and shows. The sex we had was the best I've had and I kept craving it. He's naughty, he whispers nasty stuff in my ears, has good rhythm.
My boyfriend has had WAY more sexual and relationship experience than me. Has had about 4 girlfriends, plenty of flings and a 30+ body count. He says he used to live a crazy life filled with alcohol, cigars and spending money. He'd fall in depression because a lot of these women would tell him he wasn't significant other material, just "a short, good time". Now he wants to settle down, be at home and become a businessman. He's admitted that what gets his "fire going" is me admiring him and he's afraid I'll believe he's a loser because his business plans won't flourish. He comes from a family of successful business people and I think it eats his self-esteem that many of his ventures don't flourish, usually because he gets dejected that he doesn't see process or that the demands of his project partners to "step it up" makes them back off due to him pressuring them. Then he'll change to another business plan. I support him financially and try to go to his events as much as possible, and avoid the mistake my ex did with me and ask him ASAP how it all went when I can't go. I spoke to him about the unhealthy pattern of changing his mind quickly and not sticking to things, because I think if he improved in this, his plans would progress. But it's not enough, he feels like a failure despite my assurance he's not!
I've had only two sexual and romantic experiences (ex and him) and only kissed two other guys with light sexual touch. My life before was boring, predictable, following a straight path in studies, following family orders, dressed modestly, quiet. I haven't done stand-up comedy since I become a girlfriend, although I do study it a lot (nerd), go to shows when I can, watch specials, discuss comedy with comedians online and in person, listen to my boyfriend's routines and help out where I think the writing or acting-out could be tighter.I record comedians for their feedback. I get pressured a lot by him and others to do it again, but something holds me back. My BF says I'd be the best, but anxiety fills me up. I'll do comedic improv or creative writing and knock it out of the park. It makes me cry sometimes. And my boyfriend began to like me more than a friend when he would see me on stage.
Our sex life dwindled shortly after we became official. Around every 3 - 4 weeks, without my initiative. I started hanging out in his apartment more, doing domestic duties, he begged me to adopt his dog. He started to become more conflictive with me. Things I would do he would take as rejection, or that I didn't want him. I told him "I love you" first after 3 weeks of dating and he panicked, and held me close.
He has a conflictive personality and has fall-outs with everyone - he comes from a family where conflict, shouting matches and physical violence was common. I'm the opposite - very open to anything, passive, "chill". He tells me I'm his remedy to calm down and I've helped him not fight with people. I have the bad trait of holding my feelings until I explode into tears, but I've learned with him to express things and be less afraid of conflict. I learned that holding it in damages our relationship, and what I feel is valid. He actually becomes calm and listens to me, and tells me when I am quiet...he gets so filled with anxiety that he feels he is going crazy!
He'll do a lot of sweet things for me like cook me meals, clean up more, pick me up from work, tell me how beautiful, special, kind, charming, good with kids I am. Then he says "you better love me after all I do for you!"
He loves to push forward, I think about my actions more. He's helped me buy a car, move out with him (first time living without my parents, that was another tough transition for me) and get a credit card. I regret nothing, I love living independent and knowing I can make it on my own!
I get criticisms from him. Why do I not fill my potential? He tells me I am funny - be the best female comedian. I write creative stories - become a successful writer. He tells me I am charming - be a salesperson or entrepreneur like he wants to be. We spent a month fighting because I didn't want to do online content or sell my professional services. He told me if he had what I had, he'd do SO much more and would make MONEY. He nods his head, and tells me that one thing is a political campaign, and another when government reigns. I ask what does he mean, and he says "Well, now we really know each other." I feel I disappoint him, like maybe I'm not who he hoped I was...
A bit afterwards, my job contract is over and I am unemployed. I feel horrible and don't want to disappoint him, and for the first time in my life, I try to sell my services! I did whatever I could to make ends meet - babysit, clean apartments, services from my profession (I was rejected, or I rejected bad offers). One of my gigs didn't go well because I am not versed in red flags, and it went horrible. I was exploited for the day with no pay and was called to do the gig with no more prior info and last minute call. I felt humiliated and now know the red flags - I didn't want to tell my boyfriend because he would blow up. I lied and said things went great, he reads my face and says "I know you're lying, tell me NOW!" I do, and he locks us in the car and demands I call my boss and demand respect and money or I can't get out. Once I finish the call, he calls me a little girl, opens the car after I call and shuts the door in my face. I spend all night crying and go to my second gig at night. I tell myself, I tried something new and now have confidence that if ever I become unemployed again, I know about red flags and I do have something to offer and someone is willing to pay for it. He later apologizes and says that he's looking out for me.
But the sex just keeps becoming sparse. At first, he was a stressed about work. Then he had a health anxiety episode and kept apologizing to me that we weren't intimate because of his fault. We decided I'd get an IUD for no worries about pregnancy, and still the sex wouldn't come. Then he said he was tired all the time because of work. Then he said he gained weight and he felt like an ugly whale. I still want him. I touch him sensually, he brushes my hand. Apparently, I have a habit of brushing my tongue on his lips when I'm horny. He pushes me away and says "Bad time" or "not now". I've stopped brushing my tongue all together and once or twice I did it just to annoy him on purpose. One night I tried to have a sensual night and dressed in lingerie and lit up candles and waited for him on our bed. He comes into the house, looks at me and says "You're controlling me," and turns around. I cry in humiliation and blow the candles out. We talk all night about our sex life and he tells me "I don't know, I just always had low libido. And I don't want us to break up, I love you, maybe we are incompatible?" We then have sex, but it feels like duty sex. It's quick. He gets out of bed and watches the news on his cellphone. He really likes to be on TikTok and debate online. I am still roused and masturbate alone. He sees me. He keeps watching the news.
Needless to say, I threw out all my lingerie in rage in private. I have higher libido than him. He's called me nympho and that if I could, I'd do it everyday (yes). He's ok with our sex life (sparse). We agreed at least once a week. Never happened. He took vitamins for his libido for a week. No changes. He mopes about his weight. I still want him. I do. Once I probed to learn about his sexual fantasies. He tells me that's gross. I know he likes to tie women up. I ask him, let's try that? "No." And my sexual fantasies "You're weird." I live in anxiety not knowing when the next sexpisode will come up, and the last few months have been initiated by him, they are quick and he wants me on top to do all the work. No oral despite me shaving like he requests. I've never had an orgasm with him because I take too long in "oral"...He bought me a vibrator on our first Christmas, and I tell him I know how to orgasm. I orgasm by oral. We never use it, I tried using it alone but never got off. Please bring back previous behaviour.
Current behaviour only allows me to pick photos from my device. Previously, I was able to pick the photos that I captured from my PC which I saved to my Dropbox. It was super easy to save those screenshots and take notes on them via Nebo, and now, the main use case of this app is gone...

I had a Lennox XP20 Heat pump that went out over the winter. The unit was installed 3 years ago by service experts and who I have contracted maintenance with. The top had sheared off the pump in the condensor and was told my multiple technicians it was going to be a whole unit replacement. Today when the install tech showed up, he took one look and said "hey, I'm just trying to look out for you, they gave me an EL18 when you have an XP20" I told him I'm not the expert and should I be concerned and he said "well it's a lower efficiency than the XP20 you had". Clearly a tech telling me this was a red flag so I immediately called the manager who, to me, instantly transformed in to a used car salesman. He told me the ratings are virtually identical, and this is what Lennox gave him because the XP20 is no longer in production, and so on...
I felt like I was being taken for a ride so I put the install on pause while I did my research and can see how on paper they look very similar. When I pulled out my install paperwork with all the comparison choices I had the ability to purchase the EL18 in 2021 and it was $3-4k cheaper than then XP20 I went with. So now I feel like 3 years later I'm being given the cheaper option I could have purchased back then and told to just deal with it cause it's close. The manager also sent me a follow-up email and told me that they were taking "the high road" by replacing the entire unit when they could have torn open the existing unit and repaired the coils that way. Also said they could "tweak the coils" to give it identical efficiency to my old unit.
Overall, I feel very frustrated and since I'm not the expert I'm being given excuses. Why would the price be so different and also the XP20 labeled as "high efficiency" and the EL18 "mid efficiency"? In my opinion, if I have a unit go out under warranty, and that exact replacement isn't available, I should be upgraded and not downgraded, but again I am arguing from a position of ignorance which is why I'm here. I'll add some photos in the comments and appreciate any advice anyone has!

Looking to get some materials for a fence and was going to shop at my local Menards.
 
I am building a cap and trim fence and was looking at dimensional lumber for the panels. I was planning to use these these 1x6 boards at a cost of $14.59 per. But now I see Menards also has these 1x6 pickets at $2.48 per.
 
I was going to cut the bottom of all the panels anyway to fit the dimensions of my design, so the dog ear design isn't even needed. The only difference I see is the boards being slightly thicker, but I can adjust my design for that.  
Why wouldn't I just get the dog ear pickets?

They encountered no further patrols and reached the outpost before evening fell. Outpost 13 was a smaller mound that had been subjugated not long ago. It was wedge-shaped, far taller than it was wide, with short stumps of feeder towers running down its spine. It was cement grey rather than the virulent black of Mound Euler, and stood like the ominous gravestone of some forgotten giant, crumbling away in a backwoods cemetery, cratered and pockmarked by scores of holes where shells and grapeshot had impacted.
Rene had been part of sieges before, as an ammo hopper in the artillery, and he could well imagine how costly this one had been. The unique shape of the mound would have meant that any advances would have been focused along a brutal, narrow front, where any advantage in numbers enjoyed by the attackers would have been negated. Usually a mound had several entrances through which one could spearhead an assault, pouring into the tunnels from a dozen different directions, but that hadn’t been the case here. Given the smaller population of the Amits, they had only ever needed to construct one gate. He shuddered to imagine the relentless carnage of such a battle, with men and Amits both pouring their numbers into a slaughter of single-minded purpose. He wondered how they had ever managed to take this place, until he saw the segment of the eastern wall that had collapsed entirely. It would have taken a great deal of ordinance to crack open. Even from a distance the walls appeared thick and imposing. He imagined entire weeks spent pounding the place into submission with mortars and heavy canon, engineers making combat runs to find lines of weakness, then directing their fire to hammer home relentlessly on these until finally the place had given way, collapsing all at once in a great thundering sheet of shattered stone. Even now he could see the cross-section of the mound exposed in all its beehive complexity. Amits in their thousands must have spilled out from such a wreckage, cringing at the sudden light of the suns piercing their dark abodes. Then infantry would have poured through, putting them to the bayonet before they could wriggle themselves free of the debris.
It would have been a bloody affair, and he wondered why he had never heard of such an action taking place.
Since then the current occupants had shored up their defenses. Wooden scaffolding spanned the areas of worst damage, brick and mortar replacing the crumbling dolomite. A feeder tower with cracks running down its length had been converted into a commanding keep from which the maws of several cannon peeked out, covering the approaches from either flank. Stout palisades now ringed the outer defenses, constructed in dog-toothed patterns to break the impact of a charge and provide overlapping fields of fire.
They came up to the main road. Along this at regular intervals stakes had been pounded into the ground, onto which the skins of dead Amits had been impaled, desiccated scales rustling in the wind. These grisly trophies dotted the area for several miles around. It served to inform Amits of other broods who might think to try and claim the mound that the place was now occupied by dangerous predators. Once a month a scent detail would make the rounds, splashing over the ground buckets of sharp, pungent death-warning-fear pheromones extracted from dead Amits.
At the palisades they were challenged by a man wearing a steel shod helmet. He saluted them and asked:
“Names and purpose, please.”
“Navigator Deschane, 4^th Command Echelon, Navigator. This is Ensign Rene, of the 3^rd Pathfinder Regiment. We’re here to report our mission results.”
The man peered down at them, saw a pair of disheveled, exhausted men, blood smearing the insides of their sealant suits, with barely enough strength left to stand. He saw the tattered stripes on Deschanes shoulder pad, immediately saluted once more with a clatter of body armor, shouting:
“Aye, sir! Open the gate! We need medical officers here!”
The relief was almost unbearable. The gate unlatched and men rushed to help them as they sank to their knees in the mud, finally safe.
“Don’t know about any mission, but you look to be in an awful state,’ the man said, “How’d the two of you made it this far on your own?”
“There were more of us yesterday,” Rene said heavily.
“Who is the ranking officer here?
“Admiral Prota, sir.”
“Take me to him. With dispatch!”
They were half guided, half carried to the pressure gate, a broad circle of steel that hissed as the airlock within equalized with the outside. The entrance was on the northern edge of the wedge, where it protruded forward at a height of several stories from a barbican. Broad bolts thick as a man’s arm slid back and allowed them in. As it closed behind them and the chamber depressurized once more, men in full cleaning gear came and emptied buckets of decontamination fluid onto their sealant suits, scrubbing them with long handled brushes. A second batch of cleaners peeled off their masks and sealant suits, and for the first time in four days they felt fresh air make contact with their skin. The second door opened, and they entered Outpost Euclid.
The mounds were one of the few places where one could breathe freely without the cloying restriction of a valve. In the natural pockets of stale air that permeated the cave systems, mankind clawed its way to a continued existence. Great turbine fans turning endlessly in the feeder towers served to regulate the air flow and internal pressure, powered by the underground rivers percolating through the layers of soft stone. Without a contained, self-regulating environment and machines to purify the dwelling place a man would die within days, convulsing as the neurons of his brain fired in vain in an atmosphere oversaturated with oxygen.
Mound 13 was a young settlement, only possessing the most basic necessities. Rows of braziers hung from every doorway, framing passing faces in flickering orange light. Stacks of crates and supplies lined the corridors, bales of wire, nails and planks of rough wood littered the floor.
A small crowd had gathered by the entrance, led by a middle-aged woman in medical fatigues. At her signal several attendants bustled forward with stretchers. Deschane sent them back with a scathing look. He looked the woman up and down, and his jaw muscles twitched. If the woman saw this, she gave no sign of offense.
“Well met, lord navigator,” she began, “This way to the hospital ward, if you please.”
“Later,” he snapped, “Where is Admiral Prota? I was told he was in command here.”
“Sir, your medical situation takes precedence. Your wounds are quite serious.”
“Pardon me, but to the void with my medical condition. Madame, I’ve come a very long way to deliver a missive of the utmost importance, and I will not be put aside until I’ve had my say.”
The woman’s eyes narrowed.
“Please don’t be difficult.”
“Difficult? If I don’t see him within a minute from now, I’ll show you precisely how difficult I can be. Respectfully of course, madame.” he said, in a tone that was anything but.
“It’s possible your eyesight might have been affected by recent trauma to the head. Not to mention whatever region of the brain that handles basic etiquette.”
She brought out from her field pouch a strip of gauze and a bottle of antiseptic solution, and came forward to clean his face. In the dim light of the flames Rene caught a glimpse of the pendant hanging around her neck, a thin blue rectangular wafer fashioned from some unearthly glass. Rene drew breath: she was an officer of the 2^nd Command Echelon, almost the highest station in existence. The pendant was her seal of command, a relic passed down generations beyond count. It swung on its leather thong, caught the torchlight and broke it into a thousand points of light.
“Away with that, woman, or by the ancestors I’ll-”
“Sir.” Rene said quickly, with concern.
“Its Rear-Admiral Prota, actually. And it certainly isn’t ‘woman’.”
Deschane blinked, realizing the magnitude of his error. Despite himself, Rene hid a smile behind his hand.
“I must apologize. I presumed-”
“Yes, of course. Now, before I cite you for an infraction, would you kindly come this way? You can debrief me while we stitch your head back together.”
Deschane nodded with reluctance. They allowed themselves to be led away. As they walked it became apparent that the scars of war still lay thick upon the place. The walls were dotted by bullet holes and oddly warped surfaces where streaks of acid had been sprayed to dissolve both stone and attackers alike. Once they even saw the outline of a man, the moment of his death forever etched into the ageless calcite. From the cave entrances sets of shattered columns jutted like broken teeth, reminding them of the storm of violence that had once ripped through the place.
Despite all this, Mound 13 was beautiful. Its spare halls possessed a natural symmetry and decidedly pleasing dimensions that were out of place in a newly conquered mound. All around them, workers bustled about, busy making renovations that would eventually make the place home.
“As you can see, we’ve been rather busy around here,” explained Admiral Prota, “There’s much to do, and not enough people to do it. Why, we haven’t even explored the entirety of the natural cave system yet, not to mention all the segments the Amit added. There’s talk of us being made into a full settlement someday, but of course that isn’t possible, given the nature of our work here.”
“Your work?”
“I’d explain, but you’re losing far too much blood.”
The massive cut across the top of his head had resumed its slow red trickle. Deschane wiped his face and winced as his scalp stretched.
They went into a wide, well-lit room and Rene’s eyes widened. He could scarcely believe what he was seeing. Above them yawned three massive domes of the purest blue marble, like those of a great basilica, held aloft by elegant pillars and jagged friezes that overflowed like molten candlewax.
Every surface was pockmarked by endless tessellations, countless branching forms and geometric shapes that merged one into the other in pleasing harmony. But what really stood out were the stars.
The tip of every stalactite shone as a thimbleful of water gathered. For a long moment, before gravity took precedence, they hung suspended in all their adamantine brilliance, before the illusion ended, and they flashed downward in lightning streaks of silver.
“Nice, isn’t it?” said Prota, noting his reaction.
“You’ve done magnificent work here madame.”
“Oh, but I can’t take credit for that. None of us can really.”
Rene frowned at this curious remark. He had never seen such a formation, not in all his lifetime spent beneath the ground. At first glance he had marveled at the hands and minds of those whose craft had shaped the place. But now he remembered that there was no way the working crews could have completed such a thing within a few weeks. He put it down as just another one of nature’s novelties.
At the end of the hallway men with picks carefully chipped away at a section of collapsed tunnel, supervised by an engineer.
“What’s behind that?” he asked eagerly.
“One of the sloping tunnels that run beneath the eastern segment where the collateral damage was greatest. We have yet to uncover most of them, but the engineers assure me that beyond this obstruction the tunnel ceilings remain intact. We’d try explosives but we’re afraid the whole place would come crashing down about our ears.”
They entered a small side chamber attached to the basilica, where cots had been arranged for them to sit upon. A medical orderly stood ready to receive them, needle and thread in hand. Deschane sat, wincing as they jabbed at his opened head wound, and delivered his report. Prota stood and occasionally nodded her head, her face devoid of emotion. Until, that is, they stated their estimation of the size of Mound Euler. Then she looked up sharply, asked:
“How large did you say?”
“Ensign, if you please.”
Rene produced the map.
“Madame, around here is where the primary towers are. The new cluster of secondary feeder towers were here. Assuming that the mound is of the usual ovoid shape, and that it’s major axis stretches between these two points, this would be its approximate size.”
He drew the outline with his finger.
“But that would make it-”
“Exactly. Greater than all our core settlements combined. And so,” concluded Deschane, “Given the magnitude of this threat, admiral, I must respectfully request that you evacuate Outpost 13 as soon as possible.”
“I understand. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. You are to be praised for having made it here in one piece. Both of you,” she added, nodding at Rene, who was surprised to be acknowledged.
“But you must understand,” she continued with a set look on her weathered face, “Retreat is not an option for us here at 13.”
Deschane sat up.
“It is not cowardice to withdraw in the face of certain annihilation.”
“Bravery has nothing to do with it. I suppose I had better tell you. I owe it to you for the men you’ve lost, if nothing else,” she sighed. “Navigator, why do you think Command sent you on your mission?”
Deschane shrugged.
“Overpopulation. Settlements Yohan and Gaus are at maximum capacity. The others will reach theirs soon enough.”
“No. Population factors alone do not warrant full-scale invasion of a large mound. It is too costly, and command does not waste lives when there is little of strategic value to be gained. And there is nothing around here worth the misery of claiming it.”
“Except for Mound 13.” said Rene.
“Correct.” She nodded with approval. “You catch on quick.”
“I don’t follow.”
“Navigator, your men died to keep 13 secure. This small mound is the sole reason that Command wants to push north.”
“But why?”
“As you may have guessed, your operation was the first step towards a wider offensive. To claim this mound permanently we must seize control of all surrounding areas, even if it risks aggravating the enemy into surface skirmishes.”
“Madame, what makes you think that they would confine themselves above the ground?”
She persisted, “Even so. 13 is too valuable to lose.”
“But why?” Rene broke in.
“Tell me ensign, how long have you fought the enemy?”
“All my life. Ever since they found a sealant suit that could fit me.”
“What is your opinion of their intelligence?”
They could adapt to situations and plan with meticulous attention to detail. They made tools, fashioning stone into lethal axes and spear heads. They were capable of highly effective communication, both tactile and pheromonal. They built labyrinthine structures that dwarfed any that man could make.
“They’re clever. Given time, they eventually learn. It makes them very hard to kill,” he said finally.
“But would you say they are sentient?”
He thought for a moment.
“No.”
“Really? Above all else, the Amit display an unwavering hatred of all things human. That they can commit themselves to the utter eradication of an entire species outside of their natural food chain is a clear indication of abstract thought, yes?”
“Forgive me, but what does this have to do with the deaths of my men?”
“That chamber of stars behind you?” she paused, a smile playing over her face, “For that’s what it is, I’m sure you had a similar impression. It isn’t natural. We certainly didn’t make it. They did, though why we are still struggling to guess.”
The orderly finished his work. They stood and returned to the star chamber, gazing about in wonder and confusion.
“All through the past year we have been rebuilding and cataloguing items of interest. Beginning to piece together the connotations of this place. What we have here is the first veritable proof of the Amit race possessing a culture.”

1. How The Grappling System Works
->Mashing gives you a certain amount of pts per press for both sides, the 1st side to get to 100pts wins the encounter.
->There is a cap limit of 10press/s, this speed is duable without macros(it is very fast though), so macros do not guarantee you CE wins, they just guarantee optimal mash speed. If there was no cap the macro user would win the encounter instantly.
->This cap also determines set time values to how fast Family can win encounters(reach 100pts), those being, 3.4s without Suffocating grip at default and 2.5s with Suffocating Grip.
-> These times are because of the 10press/s cap and because Family by default gains 3pts/press. Suffocating Grip makes it 4pts/press which reduces the time from 3.4s to 2.5s to reach 100pts (80pts in 2s, and the remaining 20pts in 0,5s)
-> Family always starts the encounter at 0pts and gains 3pts/press or 4pts/press with Suffocating Grip.
-> Victim by default also gets 3pts/press, however, they have 2 extra factors that influence CEs. Health and Strength stats.
-> Victims never start the encounter at 0pts like Family, their Strength stats determines how much of a head start in pts they start it with. For easy math, use 25 Strength as the base reference value, which gives the victim exactly 25pts of a head start to the 100pts race. Every strength point above 25 would increase that head start by 0,6, and every point below 25 Strength would decrease that base reference value of 25 by 0,6. So at 50 Strength the head start would be of 40pts, making the victim only need to make 60pts in the mashing to achieve the win, while the Family still has to go from 0 to 100pts. So high Strength allows the victim to win the encounter faster since they require less pts to achieve the win the higher the stat is. It might also come clutch at low health as we will see ahead. Strength will also change how long the stun of the Family lasts for after the encounter win, similar to Choose Fight, however it won't increase it by nearly as much as the perk itself does of course.
-> The health factor for victims changes how many pts you get per press. Default 3pts/press like family at full health. Perks like Grappler would be increasing this pts/press, similar to how Suffocating Grip does for Family. I won't bother getting into Grappler numbers as you pretty much never lose with it when you account the increase it gives to the pts/press + the head start from strength. With the most recent nerf to Grappler, I guess there could be niche scenarios that you lose with grappler at very low health + low strength + Family with Suffocating Grip, but it's so niche you might as well consider the perk to always give you god mode on encounters.
->Nobody knows for sure how low and how the health changes the 3pts/press for victim, but I'm guessing it cannot be lower than 2,4pts/press because even at red state, like 10% or lower health I can still always win my encounters as victim with a macro(optimal mashing) at only 15 Strength(this all without Suffocating Grip). And according to the math, to win under those conditions it could not be lower than 2,4pts/press. Though I win at low health, the encounter does take longer to finish if I am lower health, much closer to the 3.4s mark. Which clearly proves the pts/press is being affected. By the way, a draw, meaning, both players reach the 100pts at the same time, seems to give Victim the win also.
-> The Victims have 3 health states, they also have unique kind of screams when they get hit depending on which of the 3 states they are. So i'm guessing every state has its own pts/press or it's some kind of gradual decrease depending on health %. Regardless, what matters regarding this is further below. But the 3 States should be something like: 1 - Green Health Bar - 100 - 67% health (3pts/press ??) 2- Yellow/Orange Bar - 67 - 33% health (2,7pts/press??) 3- Red Health Bar - 33 - 0% health (2,4pts/press or 2,5pts/press ??)
2. Ideal Current Strength values for Victims to Exploit the Favorable Grappling System
15/16 strength is enough to win CEs at default regardless of health
To beat Suffocating Grip regardless of health needs 46-50 strength
At "full health" (3pts/press) 25/26 Strength already beats Suffocating Grip
Other values than the above will mostly only change how fast you win the grapple, and well, if you don't have a macro or can't do the 10press/s, higher strength values would help make up for your lack of speed, as would Grappler Perk.
3. How To Make the Current Grapple System Fairer
If the reward for Family winning a CE is a kill, I don't see a problem with the system being heavily victim favored as it is currently. However, to avoid being abusable as it is currently, the system needs to have trade offs attached to it that currently it doesn't. By trade offs I mean, currently the system gives victim no trade off to engaging in a CE. It's the opposite, to do so gives them an uncounterable advantage, with the old empowered perk it was even more of an advantage. If the system is going to be uncounterable to family on top of being victim favored, the family needs to get something out of losing a CE.
I think the most suitable trade off options are:
1- Change the system so that the more times the victim engages in a CE the less chance she has of winning it. Maybe the victim also has the option to waste 2 bones in one fight to counter this off balance. This would also make strength pts actually worth something to counter balance this system.
2- When the family loses a CE they gain a significant amount of Blood, so they can rush grandpa if victims keep grappling constantly. I think this should be no less than half a grandpa lvl for losing a CE. Suffocating Grip could also probably be added to make so even more blood is gained from losing the CE. I know there are currently specific perks that do this already, but I think is something that needs to be default.
3- Victims should take more damage when getting hit during a grapple by another family member. Doesn't have to be a 1hit kill, but it needs to be more dmg than normal. Currently the Family can often run out of stamina hitting the victim in the CE and still not kill them, which is silly. Give it a 10-20% increase in dmg at least, for when getting hit during a CE.
4 - Maybe make the victim lose a bit of health, similar to when getting pulled out of a hiding spot if they engage in a CE, especially if the Family gets very close to winning the CE as even the animation itself shows the family hitting them.

Let's say if a player before me plays a discard all card in green, and I don't have a matching color cards except a discard all card but In red, do I get to play that card or do I draw cards considering I don't have a playable green card? If I do get to play the red discard all card, do I then discard all the red cards or do I put only the red discard card on top?

I’ve been diagnosed T1D for about 2 years now. But I’ve had my diabetic struggle for longer.
(Gestational, 5ish years ago, possibly T1D but can’t tell because pregnant for about 6 months diagnosed 3 years ago)
While pregnant it was insanely difficult to manage my diabetes because I was told to treat it as gestational, when it was nothing like my gestational diabetes with my first pregnancy. I ate rarely and felt guilty because I tried so hard to control it only living on long acting insulin and eating eggs for every meal. I’m lucky and grateful my child didn’t have any issues.
Now I’m about 2 years officially diagnosed and for the most part I manage it ok. For a while I was desperate to keep my blood sugar under 120, and it caused me to have a lot of low blood sugars. I’d often be at 55 before I’d finally treat it. By often I mean a nearly every day occurrence.
My doc basically told me to stop and to try to get more in range because all the lows can be damaging. Which is true, but, ugh. So now I’m focusing on staying above 80. But below 180. And it is so hard. There’s hours where I’m moving around drinking water corrective dosing and it just stays between 200-350.
Im feeling so worthless about this. It’s like I’m constantly being tested and failing. And every fail leads me closer to losing my vision, my feet, my life. My emotions are harder to manage because I’m so stressed all the time. If my body decides to have a period, then my blood sugar decides to take a gum ball machine of randomness on if my insulin is going to work or not.
On top of everything my dexcom adhesive is constantly giving me rashes. Not just a little red, but so itchy I have scratches surrounding it. I move my dexcom from arm to arm, but now they’re both too dry to handle a new dexcom and it’s on my stomach. And I just feel even more shitty because I don’t feel comfortable wearing a bikini because of the disgusting scars and scratches I have there now.
I want to cry and rip my pump off and break it against the wall. I want to just be insulin free and never look back. I just want to not be diabetic anymore. This shit sucks. And there’s no running away.
I feel like I don’t even deserve to complain because I haven’t been diagnosed for very long.
Does it get any easier to control? To manage? Or is this just the shit I gotta deal with until I fuck up bad enough.

Black/grey: 2010 Prius V (147k miles): upgraded trim, sunroof, bt, solar panel on the top (he claims most economical Prius) accepted offer of 6000$

Please let me know what you think, what you’d pick, and why! Been searching for day and finally narrowed down to a Prius 2009-1013 (trying to spend 6k). This or ford fusion. Biggest thing is reliable, need to be able to get in and drive and be cool for a while, I want good gas mileage cause I’m cheap as chips, and low insurance/maintenance.

I have these two small red patch near my top lips. They are not on my lips, more like on top of my lips. They are just red. Sometimes that area skin peel off a lil I guess is because is dry but the redness just stay there. Is been three weeks and I have no idea why is it red.
