2024.06.01 13:10 Okm80m9 Selfish Australian Opinion: the Super Rugby format is dead, after the 2025 Broadcast deal ends, Australia should just make a national league like England or France

Before you say ridiculous, here's some Australia specific Rugby problems:
Where am I going with this?
In Short, A 10-12 team domestic competition modelled on English & french domestic comps. 2 Pacific Island Teams, Brumbies, 3 NSW teams, 3 QLD teams, Western Force and Melbourne Rebels. There would be growing pains, the initial quality would not be the same as Super Rugby and it would take time to build fan bases, BUT:
You address all 3 of these points. The new teams would be able to capitalise on localised fanbase rather than a fairly nebulous state team, teams could play at mid sized local stadiums and create an atmosphere like the Tahs experienced at Leichhardt oval in 2021(I have never seen such a raucous turnout for Rugby Union as those games in Balmain). You would have twice as many professional contracts available to incentivise young talent to give pro Rugby a crack. The new clubs would have much more self determination and freedom to operate as a business. tick, tick, tick.
Problems:
Initial broadcast revenue would not be equivalent to the Super Rugby revenue. Contracts will not be as lucrative as the current ones available. Inevitably plenty of star talent will be lost to overseas franchises in the startup phase. Andrew Forrest(owner of the Western Force) was ready to create 'Global Rapid Rugby' and bankroll a breakaway comp back in 2018-19, only concluded by the Force being allowed back in to SR during covid in 2020.
I don't think NZ would be keen on this model in their domestic comp bc with a population of 5 Million it's a real push to support more professional teams than they already do. Their depth of talent is obviously insane but can that many fans support a professional league? Maybe with the obsessive rugby culture they have it could.
The BONUS
Ever heard of the European Champions Cup? Welcome to the Pacific Champions Cup. This is where the broadcast cash gets interesting: the top 2 teams from the Australian, New Zealand and Japanese Domestic Rugby competitions duke it out exactly the way that the European rugby sides do. This idea really gets my tail up and adds an international club element that the other codes in Australia really lack.
As imposing as creating a new comp from scratch is, Super Rugby is dying a slow, public death. I'm interested to hear everyone else's solutions to the demise of Super Rugby pacific.

2024.06.01 13:10 Ok_Reserve_4306 The worst 99

TLDR: 99 minning is nowhere near the worst skill/ thiev is absolutely the worst skill. Thoughts?
I see everywhere over and over people saying 99 minning is awful or hard, and it makes people burn out and quit for awhile. This is insane to me. 99 minning is so easy you barely have to do anything. Just do stars and play other games . It’s literally 7 mins of afk for each level a star has. I did 99 minning and thieve recently and thiev made me want to rip my eyeballs out it’s so awful. I think there’s a strange mindset people have with skills in RuneScape where they think a skill is good/fun/easy only because the xp rates are high. I’ve seen this with slayer to. People hate slayer because it’s super slow. And people love theiv because it’s fast. I feel theiv is by far the worst skill in RuneScape. Every other skill (even agility) has much more engaging content. I would much rather do agility. Atleast your character is doing something in game and you’re collecting marks of grace. With thiev you stand in one spot and click continuously for hours on end. There’s no waiting or downtime. Your xp rate is completely determined by how much you keep clicking. I thought 95 would make ardy knights more enjoyable. It didn’t. And to top it off the only thing you get is gold (not all that great on an iron for how much time is put into 99). And no I’m not even counting that squirk juice stuff because no one would ever do that. When people do theiv they want to get it out of the way as fast as humanly possible because it’s not fun

3:40pm: Ive done alot of back n forths and im taking absolutely everything i can. i just heard a short burst of gunfire... someones near me.
7:00pm: The store just exploded and im trapped inside theres fire and "people" everywhere.
9:00pm: i dont know how im getting out, i just have to hope the fire doesnt catch onto me, im in a storage room hiding.
9:10pmam: Holy shit, i found a working car, with fuel in it and the key.

I got so much food now, i should be good for a while. I think the next step is to barricade my windows and bunker down for the upcoming winter.
11:30am: So i just finished chopping and sawing these trees. Managed to barricade each window from the inside. Im going out to explore again... hopefully find survivors..
11:20pm: found another grocery store, took a huge fridge and as much fresh produce as i can. im going to try freeze as much perishable food as i can, also the gigamart burnt down and i fell asleep in the car.
14/11
6:50am: just woke up, realised how bad my clothes are, theres holes everywhere. i think im going to switch into the military gear i found.
11:10am: switched clothes, and just finished my book on farming while eating some breakfast. heading back out...
5-7pm: met this guy named markus, he wanted help clearing out an apartment block to look for more people
there were so many of those things, i cant walk properly theres a huge cut in my leg. i am hidden inside someones room, i hope markus is okay. also theres alot more people inside the city centre.
8:30pm: i escaped thru the back, and came back in to see the building on fire. i found markus, but now a theres a horde of those things coming in.
15/11
1:20pm: i feel ill, and so does markus. i slept in real bad today... we stayed in some random house and we were both exhausted, now we are heading across the road to the tool shop, then head home and relax
1:40pm: theres alot of gunshots in the inner city
6:00pm: me and markus are back at my home. im going to go move the supplies inside. markus isnt feeling too well at the moment.
9:20pm: just built some wooden crates in the garage and moved all the supplies, time to have dinner and sleep this sickness off. hope markus is okay.
16/11
6:50am: its officially been one week. markus is acting weird, he keeps on wandering around outside. i found him outside 10 minutes ago even though its freezing and a blizzard just rolled in. time to settle in
9:40am: made some soup, gonna do some stuff around the house
9:50pm: found a new table and replaced the old one, so i could put my computer on it. also patched up my outfit since it had alot of holes. markus isnt doing great. i feel fine now though- so i hope he gets better, hes the only person i got right now. also installed new metal shelves i found into the garage. things are starting to come together. next step is to make a farm.
17/11:
5:45am: Markus tried to attack me this morning. his face was pale, and flaky. he stunk.
i think he became one of them. I had to... i used my machete, his blood went directly in my face.
I hope he stays still, and can rest.
im sorry.

2024.06.01 13:09 DONT_READ_THIS_OKAY THE WESTERN BULLIES ARE GATHERING… BUT TWO CAN PLAY AT THAT GAME

THE WESTERN BULLIES ARE GATHERING… BUT TWO CAN PLAY AT THAT GAME
https://preview.redd.it/qqdlx57v0y3d1.png?width=1440&format=png&auto=webp&s=bdea205d4c705756d7030105ea719d5c34f37ee2
Every school playground has seen how this goes. If a tyrannical, malevolent bully is constantly pushing his weight around there is only one sure way to face him down and make sure he STAYS down.
Children know the score and the script when there’s a bully around. You stay tight with your friends.
It’s not surprising then that China has issued its strongest statement yet making it clear that it will assist Russia in defending itself. But China is not the only friend Russia has that may be relied upon to stand up to the collective western bully… far from it.
Putin has been doing the rounds lately. First he checked in with Xi in Beijing. Then, in recent days he first visited Belarus, then other nations within the mutual defense group known as the Collective Security Treaty Organization. Putin was checking the members of the CSTO were ready for the fight clearly to come.
Wikipedia:
‘The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is an intergovernmental military alliance in Eurasia consisting of six post-Soviet states: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, formed in 2002. The Collective Security Treaty has its origins in the Soviet Armed Forces, which was replaced in 1992 by the United Armed Forces of the Commonwealth of Independent States, and was then itself replaced by the successor armed forces of the respective independent states.
Similar to Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty and the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance, Article 4 of the Collective Security Treaty (CST) establishes that an aggression against one signatory would be perceived as an aggression against all. The 2002 CSTO charter reaffirmed the desire of all participating states to abstain from the use or threat of force. Signatories are prohibited from joining other military alliances.’
Why is any of this especially relevant now? Because, for one thing, it is clear that most NATO nations are poised to enter the conflict in Ukraine directly. For another, the green light has just been given by most of them to allow missile strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Add one and one to get two here. For the first time officially NATO states, through their Ukrainian proxy will clearly demonstrate their aggression against Russia through acts of war against it. This triggers the agreement among the CSTO nations that aggression against one of their number will be perceived as ‘an aggression against all’.
Now you know the reason for Putin’s travels to Russia’s most powerful friendly nations in the last few days.
It is speculated that Russia is also seeking assistance from another state, Afghanistan. We may hear in the coming days that Russia has formally recognized the Taliban as the legal government of Afghanistan. At that point watch for the emergence of a mutual defense pact between Afghanistan and Russia. Shortly after there could well be a significant transfer of seasoned Afghan fighters to the territory of the Russian Federation.
Iran too is, as we know, a good friend of Russia’s and a member along with Russia of the BRICS group. Add the DPRK, another friendly nation into the mix also. These are powerful allies who appear ready to join the fight.
As the saying goes, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. If the western nations are going to act in unison against Russia in Ukraine then Russia will not by any means stand alone against them. Russia has a great many friends among the global majority who have for a long time now had it up to the back teeth with the interminable bullying of the western powers. They see their chance at last to shuck off the persistent threats of the bully by standing in unison with powerful others against it.
With the USA, UK and most EU nations apparently up for a fight it is only natural for Russia to band together as many others as possible to fight against them… a fight, quite possibly, to the death.

2024.06.01 13:09 lenahaus what toxins does too us and what has helped me

If you have tried candida-diet or parasit diet and your bb is gone.Have you noticed that there is always a lot of discussion on the role of detoxification. Detox this and detox that. But they dont really go in depth or explain the defintion of the word detox. You’ll see extreme ideas and very restricted programs for detox including the “master cleanse” but as soon as you off the diet bb returns or it only last awhile.
More than 6 months ago I found black mold in the house that produces mycotoxins and you breath this in. This the answer and cause too my other sickness and symtoms. This is the only group ToxicMoldExposure and community that I know that goes into DEPTH what detox really is and how too eliminate toxins but they talk about mycotoxins but this relates too most other toxins. They talk about glutathione, phophatidyl coline, supplements like garlic, milk thistl, oregano, infrared sauna and binders: like okra, beets, cholestyramine, activated charcoal and betonite clay and supporting liver and bile production.
I also asked in another account if anyone have bb and someone did answer that she and her husband got bb from living in a house with mold(she is cured now). I searched also and found very few that also have bb as a symtoms. My theori is that when you have alot of toxins (doesnt need too be mycotoxins) you can develop bb. Especially if strict diet is the only thing that can get rid of the bb.
But one of the best thing that happenden there is when somone mentioned about sauna The niacin sauna detox protocol, also known as the Hubbard Detox Program, was pioneered by L. Ron Hubbard and later adapted for the 9/11 responders. This regimen aims to eliminate toxins stored in the body's fat tissues, where many of these harmful substances tend to accumulate. it was used too cure US veterans of the 1990–1991 Persian Gulf War including pesticides and chemical warfare https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6862571/

The liver(among other organs). is the one that detoxifices and you should focus wholly on. iver detoxification happens in two phases, known as Phase 1 and Phase 2. ne way to support the liver is with glutathione. Glutathione is known as the body’s master antioxidant . Toxins can actually decrease the production of glutathion. Glutathion pulls the toxins out of blood so we need it becuase it alomost cleans the blood. here is a study that mentions the link between toxins and glutathion: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3942754/
Toxins are stored in the blood and fat cells, so the liver pulls it from the blood and if you can get rid of that than more toxins are pulled from fat cells than these toxins also get concentrated in you bile so you take binders so you can poop thems outl.Alsosome ppl with mold toxity have found relief using ths nicacin and saund proocol. you should visit dan roots facebook groupe he goes into detail how nicacin pulls the toxins out from the body https://www.facebook.com/groups/Detox.iNation/about/? locale=lt_LT&paipv=0&eav=AfYsZu4I95JoddTvHDCKl8qQH0JKy5XRdlwxnp4K0sbXqu7hanoG0DVWnPy6h8gmNW8&_rdr . But when I did this program I had too take a break becaus I did it wrong. Bu be aware that your bb might get worse in this program until it gets cured, Because your dumping ALL the toxins stored in the fat cells/tissue into the blood stream than you sweat it out using infrared saunas. He also mentions binder and oils too repleace the fat . He goes into DETAIL.
the other thing is that I saw someone mention that castor oil pack . Castor oil packing means soaking a fabric (I use queen thrones) with organis castor oil and placing it on the liver area and you sleep with it . It helps with detox and I did not believe it at first but I have detox symtoms like flu like symtoms and slight fever at night. It is so effecient and it did suprise me at first . pls reaserc this.
I really recommend you guys too try glutathion and binders. If you ask me wich is more important than I do not know. So many people have mentioned that okra has helped them alot. And it is cheap binder. You need too bind the toxins so you can eliminate it thru bowel movement. Remeber that elimation pathways are thru : sweat, urinating and bowel movements.
here is a guy cured using glutathion but I think most of us have too do more: https://www.reddit.com/badbreath/comments/104i563/success_finally_found_a_bad_breath_cure_fix/
what methods other that candida diet wich is not a cure do you think eliminates toxins that causes bb do you do ?

2024.06.01 13:09 LEX_Reception 7 Ways a Legal Phone Answering Service Can Benefit Your Firm

Law firms are continually seeking ways to enhance efficiency and client experience. We often think of a positive client experience as a well-delivered service, so it’s no surprise that many firms invest in systems that help with client and case management. However, have you considered how phone calls can affect your firm’s efficiency and client satisfaction?
It’s easy to overlook, but who is answering the phone and how they deliver the service plays a significant part in your firm’s ability to retain clients and improve your workflow. One solution is to introduce a legal answering service to your firm, and in this article, we dive into the benefits it can have for your firm.

What is a legal phone answering service?

A phone answering service for lawyers functions as a round-the-clock virtual receptionist. You no longer need to worry about missing calls after hours, when team members are out of the office, or on weekends or holidays. A legal phone answering service ensures that no call goes unanswered, but some providers also go beyond answering calls. Phone answering services can also assist with scheduling appointments, lead qualification, and providing general support to clients. Find out more about what is a legal phone answering service here.

Benefits of legal phone answering service

While there are numerous advantages to having a legal phone answering service for your law firm, we focus on our top 7 reasons – discussing each one in detail with key takeaways describing how it can positively impact your law firm’s operations.
You can be available for clients 24/7/365
A legal phone answering service ensures your firm is accessible around the clock. Clients often call after hours with urgent legal queries, but if the call goes unanswered, this can lead to client frustration and lost business for your firm. By introducing a legal phone answering service, your firm can eliminate this issue by providing help when you’re not around. 24/7 availability gives clients a sense of comfort knowing they can always reach out and helps to reaffirm that your firm is dependable.
Key takeaways
Improve overall client satisfaction
Prompt responses and effective communication are the foundations of client satisfaction. With more than half of consumers saying they would switch to a competitor after only one bad experience with a company – client satisfaction must be considered from the outset [Zendesk, 2023].
A legal phone answering service ensures that every call is answered professionally. This, in turn, will work to reduce wait times and improve the overall client experience. If your clients are getting a quality level of service each and every time they communicate with you, your firm is also likely to benefit from positive word-of-mouth referrals.
Key takeaways
Demonstrate professionalism
Virtual receptionists are trained professionals. LEX Reception is powered by real people and each receptionist handles calls with the etiquette and knowledge expected in a legal receptionist role. First impressions matter, and a competent answering service helps to build your reputation from the very first interaction.
Key takeaways
Provide multilingual support
In an increasingly globalized world, law firms often deal with clients who speak various languages. Multilingual support in a phone answering service allows your firm to communicate effectively with a diverse client base and expand your reach. Language barriers can be a significant obstacle when it comes to legal services which can leave many potential clients feeling isolated. Misunderstandings can put people through an emotionally difficult experience during what may already be a stressful time. By having a phone answering service like LEX Reception that offers bilingual support in English and Spanish, your law firm can ensure that no client is turned away due to language constraints.
Key takeaways
Manage appointments efficiently
Managing appointments can be a time-consuming task for busy lawyers. A legal phone answering service streamlines this process by scheduling, confirming, and reminding clients of their upcoming appointments. For lawyers, missed appointments can lead to inefficiencies and lost revenue. A legal phone answering service takes over the task of managing appointments, reducing the likelihood of no-shows through efficient scheduling and reminders. This not only improves your operations but also maximizes your billable hours.
Key takeaways
Increase client retention
Effective communication and reliable support contribute significantly to client retention. By ensuring that client inquiries and concerns are addressed promptly, a phone answering service can help strengthen client relationships and encourage long-term loyalty.
A focus on client retention through a quality service is not only important for the client, but for your firm’s growth. In fact, it was reported that a 5% improvement in client retention could increase profitability by 25% [Forrester, 2023]. If you consistently deliver an excellent experience for your clients with the help of a dedicated phone answering service, your retention rates will improve.
Key takeaways
Customizable services
Every law firm has unique needs and client onboarding procedures and, as such, legal phone answering services focus on how best to align with these needs. From personalizing your call scripts to integrating with your existing operational tools, you can make a legal phone answering service like LEX work harder for your firm. This flexibility means that the service can evolve along with your firm, providing consistent support that is in line with your growing requirements.

2024.06.01 13:08 Agitated-Feature-963 MA Experience - positive!

Hiya!
I wanted to come in and write a post about my MA experience 2 weeks post pills.
I took my first dose at 5 weeks and 6 days with fear of the pain and sickness I read so many experience. When I placed the next dose of pills vaginally, I was so nervous as I experience some terrible period cramps on a norm and didn’t want this to be like that.
What I can say is, wow is it easier than expected. My best advice is to eat plain food the day before and the day during. No artificial sugars, no greasy food, just plain easy to digest food. I do this on a regular month before I get my period and I feel like it tremendously helps with my period cramps so doing this for my MA felt smart.
It took about 2.5 hours before any bleeding started. Actually - I felt like it was late and was about to seek help before something came out. From here it was like a full river escaped me (the gush is real). I typically have light periods so this was shocking! At the worst of the cramps I would give the pain a 6/10 and I mean this was the WORST. Nothing ibuprofen and paracetamol didn’t help, I took about 800mg of ibuprofen and 500mg of paracetamol about an hour before I started anything.
Heating pad is a MUST. I don’t think I could have done this without. I unfortunately didn’t have my partner with me during this so I was worried about being alone but I had my friend on speed dial in case of emergency, to be honest it was kind of nice to just be dwelling in my own misery.
Cramps ended about after day 2, after what I feel was the passing of the pregnancy, the cramps started to fade with sometimes popping back up and then going. The bleeding began to stop after day 4.
Here I am 2 weeks after and from time to time I will bleed brown and pass a clot but with no pain. It’s like not often enough to continuously wear a pad but enough to be weary. I have one week to go until I can take my pregnancy test again but honestly when they say “symptoms going down like the feeling of feeling pregnant” it’s true. I didn’t have many symptoms to begin with part from sore breasts and slight cramping (and being very very emotional) but I can’t believe how much BETTER I feel! I feel very confident this worked and that everything went smoother than expected.
I write this for anyone else going through this for their first time! I honestly didn’t think I could become pregnant and after years of BC I stopped it and followed the flo app for my ovulation days. TIP - don’t do this 😂. I’m now back on the pill and feel much better to just have this out of the way.
The whole process was legit easier than a monthly period.
Good luck to those having to go through this! You can do it!

2024.06.01 13:08 atua_ Is €3570 monthly gross salary good enough?

I've been offered a job in Porto with a €50k gross and it comes to €3570 monthly.
I'm single but will be paying child support in overseas is there any tax deduction for this? I'll be working for a Portuguese company fully remote, living somewhere ideally around/close to Porto. I'll be getting a €10k bonus every year, full health insurance, meal card.
I have read so many posts on here but have no idea what to expect if this a good or OK salary. I know cost of living is expensive but I don't have an expensive taste, just would like to do bit of travelling around Portugal & Europe when I can.
So, how much roughly will that be net after tax and is that enough for a single person? I also would like to save some money if I can
Thanks

2024.06.01 13:08 No-Scar-5362 Ryland Lynch needs to stop

Hey everyone,
i just cant get over the icky feeling i have towards Ryland Lynch. I really dislike the way he is with the fans and taking advantage of woman. For instance when i went to The Driver Era's movie premiere in london i was sat at the back of the cinema and there were only a couple other girls there. Ryland at the end of the movie during the q&a sat right at the back next to two girls. I saw everything go down as he was the row infront of me. I could literally read his groupchat messages with the lynch family.
He kept talking to the girl in a hushed tone and i could see he was chatting her up. All the while doing this he also seemed pissed at Ross and Rocky for staying longer during the Q&A session than they needed to. Which isnt a good look because at this point they had only gone a couple minutes over time and he was already getting agitated before their time was up.
Anyways he eventually handed his phone over to the girl he was talking to and basically made her follow him on instagram so that he could talk to her. Im pretty sure he wanted this girl to also come back to the hotel with him after because the two of them seemed to be making an arrangement. I also found it quite telling that the one girl who he chose to hit on in the cinema was one of the youngest looking ones there.
This isnt the only issue i have had with ryland. Or even his friend for the matter, Riley.
Dont even get me started on how much Riley also gives me the ick. He was so rude to us fans when we were in line for the london concert. When he handed out our vip lanyards to us he didnt look anyone in the eye and basically chucked our lanyards at us. At this concert he also went about selling vip tickets to people in the ga line for cheaper. Basically Riley doesnt come across as a nice guy at all.
At this same concert, before ross and rocky came on stage, Ryland came out and asked the crowd who was single. But it wasn't just in a fun wooohooo way, he was legitametely scanning the crowd for girls i think he wanted to hook up with. After the concert as fans were waiting by the stage door, security kept calling out a bunch of different girls names. I believe they were girls the boys (not only ryland) had invited to join them after the show.
Ryland has had so many people coming out with stories against him and how most people have caught in to his ways and how he only seems to be in it for the money. I dont think hes a good manager or even a good person for the matter. He only acknolwedges the fans he thinks are pretty or theres something to gain and he has major f boy vibes.
It's kinda tragic, having been a fan of this band since the R5 days to see them all become these people. I find it hard to support them anymore and it feels like they dont even care about their fans at this point.

2024.06.01 13:07 zzzojka I feel worse when I eat meals, I feel better when I chew on things throughout the day

Does anyone else feel that? Preparing the simplest meals and cleaning up is too much of a job, it can waste a 100% of my energy for a day making and eating one meal. It's like digesting this ball of food is not what my body was designed for, I get really tired, nauseaus, may get a migraine now or tomorrow.
I had a bad PTSD episode for the last month and I had so little to hold myself together I had to eliminate all sensory suffering possible. So I only drank tea with milk and ate room temperature snacks in small pieces but often, expecting to feel like shit afterwards because it's bad for health. I ate sunflower seeds, muffin cut into small cubes and so on. I had significantly less migraines that month, didn't feel so much pain in body, wasn't bloated. Once a week I could go outside and eat a meal at a fast food or cook something very simple and healthy to sustain my body within the standard practice of eating.
I remember reading something about a blood circulation condition that many autistic people have that can affect digestion as well and blood flowing to stomach or something and it being not evenly distributed in body, I didn't read carefully into this. I wonder how many others here feel like eating is way more complicated than just chores/texture, but to a point where you need to have a completely different concept of eating because it makes your physical health worse if you eat "as you should".

2024.06.01 13:07 madrasi2021 AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C03) Resources

Every single day there is a question from someone here saying "where do I start for AWS Solutions Architect Associate" when there are a few hundred articles from those who passed already.
So here is a master list of resources to help those who have this question.
If you find this post useful - upvote. I am happy to take feedback / suggestions / changes etc - please comment!

tl;dr

  1. Get 1 video course and watch it end to end - the subreddit favourites are below / scroll down further for links
  1. Read whitepapers / review new announcements from re:Invent 2023
  2. Do one decent set of practice exams from one provider- subreddit favourites below / scroll down further for links

Subreddit Search

Following my own usual guidance, you can always use the subreddit search feature and read articles from everyone in the last month who posted about this exam / passed it. There is a wealth of detail / experience here to learn from :
Link : https://www.reddit.com/AWSCertifications/search/?q=saa+solutions+architect+associate+pass&type=link&t=month

Exam Details

If you have absolutely no clue about the exam - start here.
The exam code is SAA-C03
AWS page with all the details : https://aws.amazon.com/certification/certified-solutions-architect-associate/
Always read the Exam Guide (tells you whats in / out of scope) : https://d1.awsstatic.com/training-and-certification/docs-sa-assoc/AWS-Certified-Solutions-Architect-Associate_Exam-Guide.pdf

Minimum Viable Path to Certification

Most people usually need 3 things to pass the exam
  1. A single video based course introducing AWS and all the key exam topics
Typically these are courses where someone reads from some slides, shows you the AWS console and how to use it and then gives you tips on what to remember - there are free and paid versions of these.
  1. Additional material on key topics.
For SAA-C03 - there are some recommended whitepapers on WAF and also since 6 months have passed since the last re:Invent 2023 - any of the major announcements from then now are in scope for the exam. You wont see too many new things but there is a chance there are some random questions that were not covered in any practice exam / course.
  1. One good quality practice exam
Note : do not fall for some random "dump" found on internet or a file your mate gave you to study.
Also note - you do NOT need more than 1 of each category. You can buy more than one practice exam for sure but doing one is enough IMHO.

1. Video Courses

Free Video based Courses

Free from AWS's own training service (Skillbuilder) :
There is an "Exam Prep" course from Skillbuilder but note that this just covers the high level domains but is not a comprehensive deep dive.
https://explore.skillbuilder.aws/learn/course/external/view/elearning/14760/exam-prep-aws-certified-solutions-architect-associate-saa-c03
Optional : There is a slightly extended version of this in the paid tier with additional exam-style questions, flashcards and more importantly FREE hands on labs and the official practice exam.
https://explore.skillbuilder.aws/learn/course/external/view/elearning/14776/exam-prep-aws-certified-solutions-architect-associate-saa-c03-with-practice-material
There is a 7 day (extended to 10 days sometimes) free trial for the paid tier which can help you cram this. You can subscribe, immediately cancel but still enjoy 7 days free.
Please note that this course is not enough on its own to pass and you may want to try additional material below.
YouTube based video course
This course below is a better alternative to the SkillBuilder course above but is about 50 hours.
Andrew Brown is an AWS community hero who runs his own training site called exampro.co but offers most of the material for free on FreeCodeCamp's YouTube channel.
The 2024 refresh of the SAA course is here : https://youtu.be/c3Cn4xYfxJY
Andrew also has additional (free / paid) content on his site to check out.

PAID Video based courses

Adrian Cantrill's courses :
Adrian Cantrill is an independent content creator and has his own site from where you can obtain courses.
His courses go above and beyond what the exam needs and this is exactly why the community loves these courses as you get more practical knowledge than just cramming for the exam. The additional coverage means these courses are longer and not as cheap as other courses that cover just the exam material but in the general opinion of everyone who has taken the course it is absolutely worth it.
Link : https://learn.cantrill.io/
Udemy Courses :
Udemy is a marketplace for courses created by independent authors.
Two of the well known authors are mentioned below but please note that Udemy's pricing model can be a bit weird. One day it may show 150 USD for a course and another day 15 USD. This price it high and discount it heavily model catches out most people - so NEVER pay more than USD 20 for anything on Udemy.
Just wait for a day or so and prices may change. Opening Udemy in another incognito browser etc usually yields a different price or follow the authors on social media for codes that shrink the cost.
Stephane Maarek :
Go via his site : https://courses.datacumulus.com/ for links to his Solutions Architect Associate with the best available coupon.
Neil Davis :
https://www.udemy.com/course/aws-certified-solutions-architect-associate-hands-on/
Either one of these Udemy courses is sufficient. You still need to combine it with practice exams but you do not need more than 1 video course.
Other sites :
Exampro.co
As mentioned above Andrew Brown has his own site with additional material over his YouTube course.
Cloud Academy
https://cloudacademy.com/learning-paths/aws-solutions-architect-associate-saa-c03-certification-preparation-for-aws-1-7446/ has both a learning plan and a practice exam at the end.

2. Additional Material

I will update this section soon with some additional guidance soon as I am not happy yet (please let me know in comments if there are key additional coverage I should include) - I am scouring recent exam pass posts to see whats current and also want to add links to re:Invent 2023 announcements. I also am thinking of adding in links to "cheat sheets" / docs - let me know if this would be useful.
WAF - Well Architected Framework
https://aws.amazon.com/architecture/well-architected/
You need to know at some decent depth on what the pillars are and what they do.
Read the whitpapers from https://aws.amazon.com/whitepapers/
Specifically I found the Reliability and Cost Optimization white papers very useful.

3. Practice Exams

Please do NOT fall for "dumps" - if anyone offers you the EXACT list of AWS questions or guarantees the question bank matches the exam - these are dumps. The links below are either official or well regarded sources.
Free :
AWS skillbuilder has one free official exam with just 20 free questions.
To be honest its not really worth it - you can search for "Official practic exam skillbuilder SAA-C03" using your favourite search engine to find it.
exampro.co
Has 1 free practice exam you can sign up to.
Paid :
Official Practice exam
https://explore.skillbuilder.aws/learn/course/external/view/elearning/13593/exam-prep-official-practice-exam-aws-certified-solutions-architect-associate-saa-c03-english - there is a free 7 day trial available for you to use as this exam may not be worth a month's subscription fee
Tutorialsdojo.com
Highly recommended independent resource for practice exam questions with a very useful "review mode" and every question comes with detailed explanations on answers
Udemy
Stephane Maarek : again go via his site : https://courses.datacumulus.com/
Neal Davis : https://www.udemy.com/course/aws-certified-solutions-architect-associate-hands-on/
Other popular sites :
Exampro.co
Andrew Brown has I believe 3 practice exams as well on his site. One is free - the other two you pay for.
Whizlabs
I havent used them personally but https://www.whizlabs.com/aws-solutions-architect-associate/
Cloud Academy
https://cloudacademy.com/learning-paths/aws-solutions-architect-associate-saa-c03-certification-preparation-for-aws-1-7446/ has both a learning plan and a practice exam at the end.

Not Recommended sites :

Sites that are sadly NOT recommended anymore - Avoid A Cloud Guru / Pluralsight as their courses are not considered the best anymore. They used to be leaders but somehow have fallen behind and their subscription model doesnt work in a world with cheap one time purchase courses.
If you want a sandbox to experiment - then ACG offers one but so do Whizlabs and Tutorialsdojo.

Optional / Complementary material

I have an article where you can find complementary / alternatives to the Solutions Architect Exam - most are free and includes the "AWS Knowledge : Architecting Free Digital Badge"
https://www.reddit.com/AWSCertifications/comments/1d1o522/no_payment_options_to_learn_aws_with_digital/
This material isnt exam focused but if you want some free alternatives / cannot afford to pay for the exam - then check out the link.

FAQ

  1. Do I need ALL this material
A. No. Just one of each is fine. Example : get the free YouTube course + tutorialsdojo and you can pass
  1. Do I really need to do hands on work
A. Yes - it is recommended that you get some hands on work at the Associate level.
If you are
  1. Where can I find vouchers for the exam
A. check this thread : https://www.reddit.com/AWSCertifications/comments/18woit6/2024_aws_vouchers_exam_discounts_othe?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
  1. Can I cheat my way using Dumps that I found online / my mate gave me / found on GitHub / YouTube?
A. You can but there is a high chance you fail and/or get caught / banned - the risk isnt worth it. Stick with genuine resources.
  1. Can I pass with just free resources as I cannot afford the resources
A. Its possible but please it is recommended to atleast spend on decent practice exams. If you cannot afford the exam / resources - just get the free digital badges (Architecting)
  1. I skipped CCP / CLF - is that okay
A. Yes - its okay to have skipped the foundational level - almost all the courses above teach you from scratch.
  1. Can someone who is new to IT do this exam
A. Yes - Many people start from scratch and get to the Associate level.
  1. Is it worth it?
A. Plenty of threads on this subreddit covering this. You have to make up your own mind if its worth it to you or not.
  1. I dont code or want to - is this course for me?
A. While there is no coding involved in the course - knowing how to use the AWS CLI / being able to do some basic scripting would be very helpful anyway. You can also use free tools like CoPilot / Code Whisperer to help you with pieces you struggle with.
  1. Can I use ChatGPT / Amazon Q etc to learn
A. Many of these Generative AI tools can still give you incorrect answers. So do not rely on them but if it helps you to quickly get the concept - go ahead and double check the results against official docs.
  1. Are there books to learn from
A. Books get out of date too quickly and I do not recommend learning from them.
However there is an official Sybex Guide to the exam and tutorialsdojo / Neal Davis (Digital Cloud) also have an ebook. You can google for links to these.
Good Luck folks!

Idk how many times he’s posted memories of him with G when he was baby even though they all claim he never got to see him and “Rachel withheld G from him”. They broke up like a week after G was born… so obviously he did get to see him quite a bit.

2024.06.01 13:06 6exologist Completed the game. An honest review

Completed the game. An honest review
So i just completed the game on hard mode on my laptop. Started the day it launched.
Completed all side missions, shrines, all fox dens, liberated all areas, did all haikus, hot springs and bamboos.
Graphics: First of all the game is absolutely stunning visually. this is literally a screen shot simulator. my gallery is filled with stills from the game. Amazing game honestly.
Gameplay: Initially the game felt tough with a low health bar and resolve bar, i approached mongol territories with caution and did a lot of assassinations but halfway through the act 2 i had enough practice to just jumprighto into the middle of territories and just kill whoever approached. it does get repetitive and feels really easy eventually.
Duels: The only duel i struggled with was the heavenly strike one. probably died like 30 times on it. every other duel felt really easy. ryuzo was a breeze, kojiro was probably the easiest duel imo , you just spam the heavy attack on (stone or water stance? idr) and he dies easily. once you get a hold of parry and dodge every duel feels easy. i did all duels within 1-2 deaths max.
Shrines: Man i really don't like how abnormally long these take to complete. it's a pain in the ass but the views at the end are worth it in some of them.
Fox dens, haikus, Hot springs: Nothing much to say about these, dens could have been shorter but not complaining.
i maxed out all armors, weapons and techniques there are.
One major annoyance was the inability to skip cut scenes. there are way too many of them and i don't like it. i agree they're good for you to understand the story but those little cut scenes after rescuing prisoners and all could have been left out.
In conclusion this is a game worth playing. i like it even better than rdr2 because honestly i got tired of using guns in every single game I'd play. using swords felt different and better. this game will leave you stunned with its graphics and smoothness. it's extremely well optimized and well done in every aspect. Gameplay can become repetitive after some time but it didn't manage to bore me out. overall this was an excellent game and gave me a great experience. I'd recommend it to everyone tbh.

DQ4 - New personal record! Over 100k xp from a single fight :)
Completely useless, and only mildly interesting, but on my long long long grind to 99, I've been messing around to see how high I can get my xp from a single fight. I finally broke 100k xp on a single fight by killing a Metal King, 2 Metal Babbles, and drawing a Star Tarot card for double xp. :) .

2024.06.01 13:06 brebitz Life changing revelation

So I'm autistic which means I practice conversations I am going to have with people, conversations I had, and conversations I might have all the time. It means when the moment arises, I'm prepared. This is all pretty standard 'tism.
What I had never considered practicing during those hypothetical conversations was walking away.
I've always been pretty conflict avoidance, being afraid of being trapped in a situation with an angry person is enough to avoid the issue. Which creates its own problems. But I realized that the feeling trapped part comes from having only ever practiced continuing to talk to the person who is treating me poorly- trying to deescalate them; trying to get them to see my side of the story; being filled with righteous anger and having the best comebacks.
For years people would tell me things like "so and so doesn't deserve your energy" and I'd agree but have no idea how to actually stop engaging with them. Then one day it struck me to practice excusing myself from the conversation in all of my hypothetical conversations I practice. I am now significantly less afraid of conflict because I actually believe I am free to leave at any time. I don't believe I am trapped in the situation.
For those of us who need thing to be concrete, here's an example: "Can we talk about you yelling at me in front of a client? I didn't appreciate it and I need to know it will be different in the future" "I didn't yell, YOU were the one who caused the problems because YOU messed up the situation.... Blah blah blah keeps going until my mind is pudding...
"I came here to talk about the way I was treated. I am looking for validation, an apology, and a confirmation of how behavior will be different in the future. Based on your response, I don't feel like you are able to give me any of these things right now, so I am going to remove myself from this conversation. I am open to continuing this conversation at a time when you do feel you can give me these things"
And then I just get up and walk away. Like poof! Magic! I got my information about not only how someone is going be to treat me but also how they will meet my needs with defensiveness, I am going to deprioritze this relationship because they can't treat me right AND I am no longer afraid to ask for what I need because if the person responds to my needs with anything besides accountability for their own actions, I get to excuse myself and go about my life with people who do take accountability for themselves.
I don't see myself getting stuck in so many toxic situations anymore because I know how to walk away. It's so simple, but makes such a big difference

2024.06.01 13:06 CSLking Star Bonus NERF in Ranked?!?!

Have you guys noticed a star bonus nerf this month?
For the past idk how many years, getting to diamond 5 (most efficient way to get the most ranked rewards without much effort) always got me 10 bonus stars.
This month, only 9 stars, and I was diamond 4 last month, unbelievable.
Another strategy to get players to play more games perhaps?!?!

2024.06.01 13:04 zazeauzena Quite large capital for my age, but unbright future. Save, ETF, property?

Hi All

After reading lots and lots of questions and answers on this Subreddit, i completely lost my thoughts. I have a good understanding of how investing works, why i should do it, and the power of compounded interest on long term, combined with the ease of an ETF like Iwda. I have a quite complex situation which confuses me a lot when it comes to investing and saving money. I already saw a lot of 'professional' explanations and theories here, so i would like to ask an objective opinion.

This is who I am:

I think i'm in a quite well situation given my age, and that's why i want to seize the opportunity as thoughtful as possible.

when i was 19, i started putting 5k in seperate stocks, mainly tech and Uranium as i am a strong believer of nuclear energy. That's doing very well as it's already 18k now.

invested another 5k in iwda last year, which is doing well aswell.

Reason why i am stuck:
I don't know what to do with my cash.
I want to invest some money for long term (10 a 15 years +) I want to invest some for very long term to retire comfy I have the houses, 1 renovated, bungalow from '60, which is now beginning EPC C, so quite efficient for the age. Only large expense for the future: removing asbest roof and replace it with shingles. Note that this house is with our future in mind, to start for the first 10 years or so. My final goal is to renovate the house of my grandparents in the future, to make it as good as possible for the rest of our lives (my girlfriend is fine with the situation, it's beneficial for her too). It's a 'landhuis' on a larnge plot of land. So i guess it will take arround 150k to renovate the house.

The approach i am thinking off:
I invest another 15k in Iwda as lump sum and DCA from now on 300 euro's a month. I keep my own money to live from and to invest When i would ever renovate the house of my grand parents, i could get a loan for renovation purposes and use the bare minimum as downpayment. Then i renovate the house, and will live in it afterwards. The house i live in now is modern, detached , and easy to rent out. I would use the rental income from this property to pay off my loan I got to renovate the other house. I could eventually do a downpayment to make the rental income more than the loan, so I get let's say 200 euro's spare which i could park on a high yield growth savings account. This amount would come in when i have a cost at the property which is rented out. In the meanwhile i still have a filled savings account which keeps all roads open for investing oppertunities or to increase the value of the property i will be living in, in let's say 10 years or so (I hope it takes as long as possible as I love my grand parents, i want them to live as long as possible and stay at home while they can.) Once the renovation loan has been paid, i still have a lot of savings, so has my girlfriend, so in the further future, we could eventually buy an investment property together aswell.

Would you change strategy? Or come in mind with another strategy that could work for me? I am willing to take moderate risk. I don't want to invest all in individual stocks as they are too volatile for me, especially sectorbased like energy. But ETF's, i am fine with. If it crashes, everything crashes, and after a crash, it will climb anyway in the long run.

My goal is not to stop working or so, or to retire at 40, but i want to be able to say 'fuck it' and do something I really really enjoy, even though I would earn half the money. I never want to stress about money. I am quite economically-minded and think a lot before i purchase something expensive. Working 4/5 when i'm around 40 and 3/5 when around 55 would be ideal i think.

My main motivation; based on the lifestyle of my grandfather, i like to walk arround on my property, thinking how beautifyl it is, washing the car on saturday, play with the kids, take them for a ride in a old porsche 911 (passionate about that car since when i was 6, posters all arround my room, till to date haha, that's the life strive for, the life i WANT to work for . not to sit at home at 50 all day long as everyone i know will still work then.

Thank you so much for your insights

Cheers

2024.06.01 13:04 SubstanceNo3551 You know those days where you just cant pretend anymore but you have to?

After a week of not sleeping but still pretending everything is okay, today I woke up and it is “the” day, the day that I cant mask anymore, I cannot even muster a vague smile. I dont want to get up, I dont want to see people. I dont wanna listen, talk, laugh and pretend like Im enjoying myself. I dont want to go outside. I dont want anyone touching me. I want nothing but to cease existing, just for a day.
But its my boyfriend’s birthday. Birthdays are difficult for me anyways, Ive had many birthdays where nobody contacted me, not even my parents. I was emotionally neglected and physically abused as a child. That complex trauma combined with my autism and add. Recipe for disaster. So his birthday. His parents are coming over, and that sounds like literal torture in my ears. We have to spend the day together, do fun stuff, till late at night, sleep together, while all I want is the opposite. The guilt of how that makes me an egotistical and horrible person is also all consuming. This day is not about me. Now I know its all not personal towards my boyfriend but does he? Does he really? Im never sure so im going to have to pretend, and I know its gonna cost me another week of feeling like im feeling today. In the grand scheme of things this is so futile but I can feel like wanting to end it all on days like this, thats how dark it gets.

2024.06.01 13:02 rangernumberx Respect Gold (Pokemon Adventures)

"I wanted to nab the thief while Exbo here wanted to get his buddy back. Although it was our first meeting, we fought together. That guy may have escaped, but we've decided to battle together from now on. Even if I meet new Pokemon along the way, I will still treat them the same way, because to me...Pokemon are my partners! We work alongside for the same goals, because...we are partners!"
Gold was raised around Pokemon, his home having so many it was known as the Poké House to those in the community. But after a chance encounter leads to his Pokemon being stolen and being the sole witness to a boy stealing Professor Elm's Totodile, Gold gives the police a false description of the thief before setting out with a Pokedex and a Cyndaquil to hunt him down himself. Along the way, Gold demonstrates a deceptive fighting style, often using his cue to send Pokeballs in strange directions and using other members of his team to hide the key play another Pokemon is performing, as well as an ability to nurture the full potential out of any Pokemon from as early as them being in an egg, earning him the moniker of 'the Hatcher'. With these skills, Gold would prove a key player as he faced off against the likes of a revived Team Rocket, a masked man seeking to rewrite time, and even Arceus themselves.
All feats are tagged with the chapter they appear in.
