Teachers are lied to about aspects of the job that magically change once you’ve signed (no after school, having to bring heavy food trays up two flights of stairs every morning, you can not leave the school during your break)
There is unequal standards among the teachers. They love to make deals behind backs. Some teachers get extra breaks, some get to come in 15-20 minutes late without any repercussions. Some have less physical labor to do. If you try to bring it up, you will just be told not to compare. There is an extreme amount of gossiping by everyone. They are desperate to keep students so you are at the whim of the most ridiculous requests...

I'll save my wild indignation for pig-of-a-woman, Jane Elliott's monstrously unethical experiments on children for another day (something that would land her in court and/or jail in the 21st Century, lose her teaching license etc.), but you can look up Brown Eye Blue Eye on YouTube to see how easy it is to manipulate other human beings into hating each other. Then, if you subtly do that, they won't compare notes and unify against a common oppressor, because they are too busy being jealous and seeking revenge and alliances. Once you see the classroom experiment, you'll understand the evil behind it and how that affects you on the job or any other aspect of your life.

This place is a nightmare dressed up as an English institute. Firstly, expect your salary to mysteriously ___________ as they deduct money for things you never agreed to. It's like they're running a scam under the guise of employment.

They turn a blind eye to the chaos, leaving staff to deal with the mess they've created. It’s like working in a zoo with no keeper in sight. You’re left to fend for yourself against a horde of unruly children with no support.

--Yes, all Hagwons are running a scam to steal money from gullible and desperate parents and vulnerable foreigners while surrounding the scam with white boards, chairs, books. That's all it is, that's all it ever was. Glad this person at least caught on to it.

Parents don't want to hear that their children are misbehaving for a multitude of reasons: save-face, they want them out of the house anyway, it's not their problem, teachers and staff should be making an environment in which they have no reason to misbehave etc. But the OTHER parents are very interested in seeing and hearing about how other children are disrupting education and how their money is being wasted. You pull out your phone and take a video of you asking the child in question to behave over and over again and there is no compliance, time and money-wasted dealing with this stuff, and you post the video to a Kakaotalk mom's chatroom? That's a problem.....for the owner. They can't win that. The video doesn't lie. The foreigners asked for help, it was refused, this is how things operate behind closed doors. Goodbye money! Expose all that laziness and indifference, and parents will realize it is warehousing children with no intent on educating them. If you can't talk to the parents, give your Kakaotalk I.D. to the children to take home, they'll contact you, believe me, they will! You may have to blur out the face of the children before posting, parents know who their own kids are but then they'll complain it's a violation of such and such to try to save face, rather than feel any shame their kid is a total brat.
⏺ I advise getting in touch with parents, set up a chat group. Take video. Advise management of the problem, wait for them to do nothing at least 3x, then appeal to the mom Congress with that video. The ownemanagement then can't give any excuses anyone would believe, they are caught red-handed neglecting their duties. Parents love their kids, they want to them to do well, and they hate wasting money, they'll listen intently. That's why they signed up, Westerners doing Western-style things, not screwball Koreans doing same 'ol screwball Korean public school things. Management will come back to you with excuses and hate, then you just shrug, "Hey, no one cared about my anger, frustration, stress levels, I told you 3x and you ignored me, so now you have to change things because the parents demand it. What caught my eye the most, if you subreddit search: Lighthouse International School a post states that there are 12 teachers on staff? Only 12? Because I have been keeping an eye on Dave's ESL Cafe and there was yet another job ad and from my recollection, they have quite a few job ads for the same positions over and over again. 1) How often are people getting fired or leaving "disgruntled" as the OP says? Good lord, they don't have that many people, why so many ads? 2) Look at the job ad. I saw the latest one maybe a month ago and it's beyond unreasonable to expect someone to do all that. Maybe that's why there are so many vacancies. All the other talking points listed are just train-wreck stuff of childish pettiness and indifference.

They ask for flexibility on your part, but that because their pay is always late so they want you to be more flexible with them. They don't do a good job training their staff before they start. People have gotten fired for the school's inability to keep then on due to finances.
Korean teacher, bus drivers, chefs and many more are paid months late with promises of being paid in full, but it always happens in chunks. They make a lot of promises just to keep breaking them every time. There is a lack of communication and when confronted about late pay there is usually no response from xxxxx. They are very nitpicky about everything you do.

Clearly, they are Ponzi-scheming their way through their financial mess in the hopes of brighter days. It's set to collapse, and you'll be screwed out of months of salary you'll never recover, and likely they aren't paying into mandatory health insurance, pension, and probably not paying taxes either, you'll be required to pay them off to balance out your account.
It always amazes me that GOOFBALLS that can't tie their own shoes correctly, are steering their poorly planned-out money-making scam into the ground at 100mph, but have the nerve to nitpick the staff about all they are doing wrong? You don't even pay me on time, and I am working AS A COURTESY to you, and yet here you are grousing about how I'm doing everything wrong? When you are perfect and have your act together, you'll have the confidence of the staff that you know what you are doing as a leader. I would throw every comment back in their face, "Thanks for being flexible with all my supposed "errors" just like I'm being flexible with you being late with salaries in which I don't throw in your face every day I'm not paid, but yeah, I shouldn't be working here at all until you pay me so...."

Current applicants, medical students, and medical admission consultation companies often talk about the importance of applying early to medical school. However, it can be confusing if you are hearing that for the first time. Are they saying I should apply at a younger age? Should I apply as a junior instead of a senior in college? Should I apply early in the application cycle? Why should I be doing this? And, if I were to do this, how would I apply early? While you may not have asked yourself all of these questions, you may still be wondering why it is important and how to apply early. In this post, I will go over the importance of applying early, explain what it means to apply early, explain the medical school application timeline, and what the timeline of an early applicant looks like. 1. Why Is It Important to Apply Early?

Most medical schools are on a rolling admissions timeline. Imagine musical chairs, but the music starts as soon as the first people show up and stops before everyone gets there. The people that get to this imaginary game of musical chairs first have a better chance of making it to a chair. Schools start sending out acceptances to applicants before they have even interviewed everyone they will interview. They will typically have more accepted applicants come from earlier in the interview season than from later in the season. For example, the medical school will interview from October to February. Each week they interview 30 applicants. They will start accepting students in December. They will send out half of their acceptances in December, 30% in January, then 10% in February, and then the final 10% in March. Those that interview in October will typically be looked at for each successive wave, increasing their chances of acceptance, while those interviewing in February will only have the opportunity to be accepted in March. So, even though they interview the same number of applicants each week, they are not accepting the same number of applicants each week. They accept more applicants earlier on in the process. This is why it is crucial to apply early in the application process so that you can likely get an earlier interview and increase your chances of acceptance.

2. Understanding the Application Timeline

If you are applying to MD granting medical schools, you will use AMCAS (American Medical College Application Service). DO schools use AACOMAS. And schools in Texas use TMDSAS. While each application service has its own individual timeline, I will focus on AMCAS, and the same principles will apply to the other services just with slightly different dates. The AMCAS application will be open so that you can start filling it out on May 3, 2021. The application cannot be submitted until May 27, 2021. This month allows you to fill in the application, get your letters of recommendation submitted, submit official transcripts, and proofread the application. After the application is submitted, AAMC, the Association of American Medical Colleges who makes the MCAT and is in charge of AMCAS, needs to process the application. Processing the application can take up to six weeks, though it typically takes less time if the application is submitted within the first week that one can submit, and it also is processed faster if submitted later on in the year, such as in September or October. On June 25, 2021, AAMC will send processed applications to medical schools. Once medical schools get the application, they will request a secondary application. After the secondary application has been submitted, schools will review the applications and start sending out interviews. The earlier the medical schools get your application and secondary application, the sooner you will be able to get an interview, and the higher chance you will get accepted.

3. An Early Applicant’s Timeline

Now that I have explained what the overall timeline is for applying, I will explain how you as an applicant can apply early and what is considered “early.” I first want to give a disclaimer that you should not apply earlier than you are ready! If you don’t feel like your application is ready by these dates, then it might be wise to consider taking a gap year so that you can still apply early the next cycle but with a prepared application. To be prepared to apply early, you will want to start thinking about who can write you good letters of recommendation and make sure to keep a good relationship with them 4-12 months before the application opens in May. You will also need to start working on the personal statement in January. By beginning on the personal statement in January and working on it for only 1-2 hours a week, your personal statement will have an excellent start come April. That way, when you ask mentors for a letter of recommendation, you can give them a relatively-polished personal statement for them to review. When I gave my personal statement to my letter of recommendation writers in March, they were all impressed with the progress I had made in my personal statement, and they all said that it helped them when writing my letters. In March, you will want to ask for letters of recommendation. By asking this early, you will give the letter writer time to write you a good letter and time for you to remind them if they are behind at writing the letter. During April you will spend much more time working on the personal statement and writing descriptions for the activities you decide to include in your application.
When May 3rd comes, you will want to start filling in the information for your application, while continuing to edit and revise your personal statement and activities description. The week of May 3rd you will want to make sure that all of your letters of recommendation are done, or that they are at least very close to being done. Remember, if your school does not have a committee letter, you only need to have your letters of recommendation submitted before your application is sent to schools on June 25th, 2021, not by the time you first submit your application. You will also want to make sure that you know where to order your transcripts and if they can be sent online or if they have to be mailed in. If the transcripts can only be sent in the mail, they will need to be sent as early as possible because those can take longer to process than electronic transcripts. You will need transcripts for every college and university you have taken classes from, so know the procedure for each school’s transcript system.
A week before May 27, 2021, you should be making sure that everything in your application is spotless, with your recommendations in so that you can submit on the 27th (you can also add letters of recommendation later if needed). You will want to have your MCAT score back before June 25th, so that you can know what schools will be in your range. However, you can apply and submit your application without an MCAT score. Theoretically, you could take the MCAT on May 24th, apply to one school on May 27th to get your application verified, receive your MCAT score and add all your other schools on June 24th, and on June 25th when your application is sent to medical schools, the schools that you added later will think that you added them on day 1.
The final step to being an early applicant is submitting your secondary applications within two weeks of receiving them, but it is better to submit within one week. This can be stressful because so many secondary applications from different schools are sent all at the same time, so prewriting secondary prompts is a good idea during the month of June while you are waiting for your application to be sent to schools. I pre-wrote about 80% of my secondary application essays and even though some of the prompts changed, it really saved my life. I was able to submit my secondaries within one week for most of my secondary applications and wasn’t stressed when they all came at once. Once your secondaries are submitted, you just need to wait and prepare for interviews!
In conclusion, you want to submit within the first week of the application opening, which is May 27th this year. Then make sure to have the secondary applications submitted within one to two weeks of receiving them. 2024.05.28 22:14 RFC_1925 Passed (Provisionally) - Exam Prep Thoughts

For context, I have Almost 20 years of IT experience and 8 years in security, mostly Blue Team stuff. My current role has a strong GRC component and we've moved to performing internal risk assessments. I also have the CISSP.
My company reimburses me for professional development, so I bought the full ISACA on-demand course, the QAE, and a copy of the official Review Manual. To supplement I also read COBIT material, NIST SP 800-30, and watched Jerod Brennen's LinkedIn Learning course.
Overall, this didn't feel like a hard exam once I got myself into the frame of mine ISACA has around risk. When I was preparing for the CISSP I heard early on that to approach exam questions with the philosophy of "Think like a manager." If I had to distill my CRSIC exam approach I say it was "Think like an anxious risk analyst who is trying to think like a member of the board of directors."
As just about everyone has said, the QAE is a must have. Using it in study mode to review why a given answer was correct or incorrect held the most value for my preparation. The On-demand course, on the other hand, was literally just someone reading the Review Manual, verbatim, over a slide deck. I would highly recommend not getting the ISACA course. It has very poor ROI. I looked at some other Udemy courses that people had recommended, but most of them are taught by ESL instructors and I found their english too hard to parse. The Jerod Brennen courses are not super in-depth, but I found them very useful for review since they were on the shorter side.
In the end my study strategy came down to summarizing the relevant content from the manual and supplemental material into a set of highly compressed notes. Those notes were categorized by domain. I used them as my main study material going forward. I then used the QAE to see what areas I was weakest in and then concentrated by studying more of that domain.
For my exam strategy, I chose to take it at home where I knew I'd be comfortable. I made sure I was getting in the high 80s low 90s on domain 1 and domain 2, since combined they make up 58% of all the questions. When I hit questions I was uncertain about I could usually narrow the options to 2 and give myself a 50/50 shot.

2024.05.27 08:32 Overly_Long_Reviews Wildling Hanfy Insole Review - Water resistant but Uncomfortable and Inconsistent

When I was shopping for insoles to go with my Nebula Black (that insanely long review written by "anonymous" is me) the Hanfy caught my eye almost immediately. I'm not a fan of waterproof membranes and I have a particular dislike for how Wildling implements them on their shoes. But going without means you get a lot of water seepage through the "notch" and unprotected arch in the outsole. With the membrane equipped Hanfy, I saw a good compromise option. A way to mitigate some water seepage from wet surfaces well still having the advantages of a highly breathable, fast drying and draining non-membrane shoe.
I can report that during my wear testing, my theory has proven to be correct. The Hanfy does indeed provide increased water resistance from water seeping when moving on stepping on what grass, wet pavement, and very shallow puddles. Noting that it won't do anything about any water that will come through the split toe. Purely in terms of this very specific measurement of water resistance I'm happy with performance. But this tiny bit of extra protection from moisture isn't in my opinion worth the comfort issues inherent to the insole.
Try as I might, I cannot get this insole to be comfortable. Sure, give enough time I might come to tolerate it but with more comfortable insole options available it's hard to put in that time. Whatever I do, the insole always shifts, bunches, and flexes uncomfortably. It is my contention that this comes from an inherent design and manufacturing flaw. Stemming from the herringbone pattern stitching used on the top most cotton fabric. The insole naturally flexes at the stitches. Since there are so many stitches on the insoles it causes some areas to move, bunch, and shift from the pressure of the ground and your foot in different ways. If thought was put into where the stitches were placed, this could make for a genuine interesting insole that moves with you in a way that isn't possible with a stiffer insole. But Wildling's approach is much more haphazard and the end result for me at least is discomfort. That's because the stitches are not in the same place on each insole. It appears as if (I'm almost certain, but without being privy to their exact manufacturing process I don't want to speak in definitive) that these insoles are cut or stamped out from a larger piece of fabric. Followed by hemming the edges. Which is a perfectly reasonable, common and efficient manufacturing process. The problem is no thought was put into where these stitch lines are going to end up on the insole when the cuts are made. The left and right sides are not mirror images of each other. With the stitch lines being in slightly different places. Which means that every insole flexes differently from each other. Where the material bunches and shifts on my left side is different than where it bunches and shifts on the right (with the right being more uncomfortable). So you never really know what you're getting when you order these. You might receive a set where the stitches are in good spots and don't cause any comfort issues, or you might receive a set where the flex points are an ever present low grade annoyance. Additionally, even if we discount the inconsistency issue, the quilted pattern just feels kind of bizarre. I can't say for absolute certainty, but it also feels like certain quilted sections are slightly thicker than others which leads to an odd feel. Though that's not going to bother everyone equally. If more thought was put into the placement of the stitch lines and how the insole move with you, the quilted feeling would be something that's worth getting used to. But with the current construction, is so uncomfortable to me, that I really don't want to spend any more time wearing them than I absolutely have to.
Before ordering, I sent off an email to Wildling support asking about noise. One of the longstanding criticisms of Wildling's membrane implementation on their membrane equipped shoes is that it makes a crinkly sound. Something I absolutely did not want. Given that the Hanfy also has a membrane (even if it's ONLY mentioned in the description and not in the materials section) I was worried that this would also be the case with the insole. The support representative said that they called down to the factory and confirmed that the insole made no noise. I'm not sure how to say this diplomatically, but I have historically found Wildlings support to be friendly and helpful, but not particularly knowledgeable or reliable. I took this answer with a grain of salt. I was right too, because immediately out of the shipping box I noticed a crinkly noise. It's not definitely and the comfort issue is far worse then the noise but it's still present. During my initial wear testing some crinkle noise was noticeable during movement but generally not above the level of ambient noise. Probably not something that others would notice. But I notice it and found it distracting. Fortunately, with more wear testing and after doing my wet surface testing, the worst of the crinkle noises has subsided. I have since come across some reports from others that say that their Hanfy insoles were extremely crinkle and that the noise level did not subside with use. Though that seems to be the outlier, most other reports are closer to my experience. But it does, at least to me, continue to paint a picture of an inconsistency issue with this particular family of insoles. In the interest of keeping them informed, I have mentioned the presence of noise to Wildling. But I am not seeking a refund, return, or replacement because of it. It's not worth the hassle and I'm very happy with the two other insoles that were in the same shipment.
In an effort to try to make the most out of the Hanfy, I have experimented with a variety of mitigation strategies. The most successful was stacking another insole on top of it. I first tried it with the excellent and extremely comfortable Wooly insole. This makes for a very thick and cushioned package that's only a little bit smaller than the Hanfy Double. Be sure to loosen up your laces since it does eat up a lot of space. The latex dot matrix on the bottom of the Wooly grabs on securely to the top of the Hanfy, so any sliding between insoles is pretty minimal. The Wooly did provide a little bit of a buffer and did dampen the crinkly noise before that resolved itself. But the Wooly insole is so flexible that any bunching and sliding of the Hanfy along its stitch lines does get translated to the Wooly. Stacking the Wooly on top, ends up being a little bit more comfortable because the Wooly is already a comfortable and pleasant insole. And because it covers up the quilted texture but it doesn't completely mitigate the unwanted and inconsistent bunching of the Hanfy. I had the best success with my 2 Washi insoles. The Nebula Black comes with a white pre-molded Washi and I ordered a spare set in black in the same shipment with the Hanfy and Wooly. The Lunatur 18 Walnut on the underside of the Washi does slide more on top of the Hanfy but it's a little bit stiffer than the Wooly and Hanfy. I found that the Hanfy's fabric bunching isn't translated to the Washi when they're stacked on top of each other. The last strategy I tried was turning the insole over putting the black membrane side up and the white cotton side down. This does change how the insole feels but it doesn't solve the problem. It just changes it. The cotton is slick and when moving it slides forward or backwards leading to even more bunching in new places. The problem flex areas still exist, but are now experienced on the opposite foot, dampened and in a slightly different position because the insole is upside down. I did find that the upside down configuration did alleviate most of the uncomfortable bunching I was experiencing on my right foot around the toe. With the bunching on the left toes being offset enough to be less noticeable. That and the flat grippy texture of the underside does make the upside down configuration more comfortable when stationary. Yet I would say that the increased punching from slippage when moving is not worth the added benefits when stationary. Moreover, it puts the cotton side directly in contact with areas that are likely to get wet which worsens the water resistant advantages of the insole. My conclusion is these mitigation strategies can help address some of the shortcomings of the Hanfy but in applying them they introduce other problems. The benefits of these strategies aren't worth the disadvantages in my opinion. And that it's overall better to cut your losses and go with a better insole.
It took me a few hours to write this review. With me wearing the Hanfy insoles in my Nebula Blacks the entire time. The level of discomfort started out as a low grade annoying, one that I was able to ignore by focusing on the task at hand. But the discomfort has gotten more and more noticeable to the point where right now I'm going to abruptly cut off this conclusion and skimp on proofreading because they are profoundly uncomfortable right now. I just want them off my feet immediately so I can give my feet a break and slide in the extremely soft and comfortable Wooly insole. Everyone's feet are different, and because of the inconsistency of the construction, you might be lucky and receive a pair that just works for you and your feet. I was not lucky and this set definitively does not work for me. Even if I still do appreciate the water resistance it provides. I still think there is value in a membrane equipped insole with a non-membrane shoe. And I would like to see Wildling's do further development of the concept. I could see a Wooly with a membrane being quite nice. But for me, the Hanfy's very narrow band of water resistance is not worth the discomfort that comes with it. I don't feel like I can recommend it unless a significant overhaul is made to the design.

I hope everyone have a great week, I want to share a story today.
For the purpose of context clarity, I'm 27 years old male with no degree(didn't finish it) and have been working since I was 20 with ESL certificate and had been working on Multinational education company for the last 7 years plus I also do freelance as translator mainly legal document translation from English to Indo or vice versa.
Over the last few weeks I had been searching for remote jobs opportunity and had been sending resumes here and there. There was this one company that accepted my resumes for Education material proofreading and translation, then they told me to proceed with the test. I did the test, the test was CCAT and I had a score that said I'm above the 50% of English speaker college graduates. They told me to re-do the test as I haven't met their passing grades, so I did it again and scored 67% above the same criteria mentioned above and still failed to pass. They told me I can try again in 180 days, ROFL.
So I want to ask your experiences for those of you who had degree, how demanding it is to find work right now. If you told me to apply for Indonesian company, I won't even bother because they always said I don't qualify since I had no degree.
Also, piece of advice for those who are still in Uni and considering to quit. I would say if your parents had no problem paying your tuition or you don't have any responsibilities to work immediately. just finish your study guys or gals. I know you can still work without degree and you could probably work better than those with degree, but it is way harder path in my experience. Most companies don't care if you can work or not, they will look at your degree first.
