Hello fellow redditors,
As my CAT 23 cycle has come to an end, I find myself in a very precarious situation. I need some genuine advice and guidance as to what I should actually do.
Background: I have converted 2 colleges so far - SPJIMR (Marketing) and IIM Kozhikode. I also have a pretty comfortable waitlist at FMS which should convert within the next 2 waitlists. My goal is to pursue a specialisation in Marketing and end up at an FMCG. My profile - Fresher, 9/9/9, 99.83
Dilemma: Having done my own thorough research, going through various reports and speaking to seniors, I am basically Clueless.
There are so many lens' for me to account for and there seems to be no clear winner. Each college wins in some factor and loses out on another. The deadline for payment of fees is looming close and I haven't still figured out where it is that I want to go.
Placement reports for all of these colleges are pretty similar in terms of Marketing and the companies that come in (FMS does stand out a bit) but at the same time, I believe that a proper campus with a residential programme is a necessity during an MBA to ensure a holistic development. In terms of batch profile and opportunities in both SiP's and Finals, I don't think that there is a huge difference?? ROI and fees aren't the biggest of worries as of now. I also would like to have that IIM tag.
I understand that I am lucky to be in situation like this and for that I definitely am grateful. But at the same time, I would love some genuine advice from y'all covering many important aspects of an MBA that could guide me in this particular decision
Would going to SPJIMR hinder my chances of securing a good placement given the high intake of people with Work Ex? Would going to FMS lead to me experiencing lesser of an MBA life despite being the best college there is for Marketing? Would chasing behind the IIM tag be a grave error due to a delta in terms of career opportunities?
I have very little idea of the weight I should place to these various factors and which direction my thought process should pertain to?

The Fury is so close on my tail that he’s almost certain to catch me now!
It would be laughable how much my… ‘employers’ had underestimated him if it weren’t so terrifying!
‘You’ve got a Terran with you! There should be no issue!’
Yes, that idiot mercenary they hired almost had me going with his smug, arrogant proclamation that ‘Big=slow! Slow=dead!’ as he idly showed off his little knife tricks!
My confidence lasted up until the very moment I saw the one we were supposed to rob!
[20cm] taller than the skinny mercenary and looking like he could easily weigh twice as much, the man was a Hunt damned beast compared to the one who was meant to protect me from him!
I think Flynn reassessed his cocksure attitude as well because, rather than waiting for me to have an opening like we agreed in the [fucking] plan, he just drew a knife and tried to stab the monster to death!
An extremely poorly calculated risk!
There was no competition!
This juggernaut dealt with Flynn as easily as Flynn could have dealt with me!
It took him a matter of seconds to dispatch my accomplice but that was a matter of seconds where he was distracted enough that I was able to snag what we had been after… not that it makes any difference now!
Just as I hear thundering footfalls coming up on my left, powerful fingers impact the space between the bottom of my neck and the top of my top shoulderblades.
I’m slammed into the ground… but not killed…
I can feel the power contained in the iron grip around my neck…
I know that decapitating me would be as simple as deciding to close his fingers but, as I wait for death to come, it doesn’t…
Instead, the hand slides up my shoulders, gathering the loose skin and lifting me up like a kit in her parent’s mouth…
The first thing I’m able to see is the monster’s flat, booted feet, followed by a pair of long thick legs, then a chest and left arm covered in a loose fitting, buttoned shirt, patterned with vertical and horizontal lines.
The red fabric of his top disguises the bloodstain from the wound he got from Flynn, just below his shoulder. However, the nauseatingly metallic smell of it absolutely fills my nostrils!
The final thing to be revealed, as my feet hang more than [a metre] from the ground, is a face… the scarred skin a pale beige, the white, calcite teeth bared in a furious grimace, copper coloured eyebrows tilted downward in the middle over a nose, wrinkled with anger, and emerald eyes, burning with rage!
His shoulders rise and fall, in time with panted breaths he sucks in and out through his gritted teeth, putting me less in mind of a person (or even an animal) catching their breath after exertion and more in mind of some hulking piece of machinery from the Steam Age venting its pressure!
The Terran extends his pallid skinned, long fingered, furless, pentadactyl left hand to me, stained with the ferrous blood that’s run down his sleeve, and growls “Sample!”
“No…” I breathe, terrified.
“GIRL! I AIN’T fuckin’ PLAYIN’ with you!” he snarls, curling all but his index finger and jabbing it towards my snout “You’re gonna. GIVE. BACK. what you. FUCKIN’. STOLE!”
“You… can take it… from my corpse…” I defy, clutching my exhausted, trembling pawhands to the front of my jumpsuit.
Effortlessly, his free hand comes forward, batting my four aside, before pinching the top of the stasis vial and pulling it free, with there being absolutely nothing I can do to stop him!
He holds up the tube, in which is visible a small plant with a rosette of frilly black leaves and through which can be seen a frozen impression of the room it was in when it was stasised, demanding “You’re really willin’ to die for this!? For corporate espionage?!… Why the fuck’s this matter to you like that?!?!?!”
“I don’t care… about the plant… at all…” I answer, defeated.
His face twists in a sneer as he asks “Then why tell me I had to pry it from your cold. dead. hands!?”
“Because… if I come back… emptyhanded… they’re going to… torture my husband… and son… and make me watch!… If I don’t… come back… at all… maybe they’ll let them go!” I pant in answer.
His face falls blank… but I can tell that is not because he’s no longer angry!
Instead, his redoubled rage has gone from white hot to ice cold as he leans in and demands “Who’s ‘they’?”

“One!?” demands the sceptical, lutrine, Nvar man, one of six listening to my story for the first time (along with the two friends who’ve heard it before), holding up a webbed pawhand and extending a single finger “You’re trying to tell us that one Terran dismantled the entire Giluspri Sisters’ Syndicate, overnight!?… Simply because you told him a sob story about them holding your family hostage!?”
“I did say you wouldn’t believe me(!)” I smirk, lifting my drink to take a sip.
“You’re damn right I don’t believe you!!!” he sneers “It might have been a little more believable if you’d made it a team of a dozen or so Terrans that were guarding this thing but one!?… There’s no way it took a single individual a single night to root out and entirely destroy an enterprise that Prosperity’s government had been hunting for nearly [2 decades], even if that individual was a Terran!”
I place my drink down on the table and turn the palms of all four pawhands to the ceiling as I say “Believe me or don’t… that’s exactly how it happened!”
“Hmmm… Don’t know ’bout ‘exactly’…!” comes a familiar voice from behind my head, in the next booth over.
I freeze and straighten my back.
The friends and audience in my booth are looking past me, curiously, but, from their faces, it doesn’t look like they can see anything.
I stand and slide out through the gap between the table and Nafnarl’s footpaws.
I turn right and am immediately able to see that the booth next to us is occupied by a mixture of Terrans and some much smaller humanoids with green skin.
I keep going, rounding the partition to reveal…
“By the Hunt! Victor?!” I exclaim, seeing the man sat with his back almost exactly to where I was sitting, next to another tall, slim humanoid with blue skin and four arms.
His copper hair is much longer, his face isn’t as scarred and isn’t wearing the disgusted sneer that characterised so much of the time he and I spent together but… there’s no mistaking it!
The man turns his head, smiling, before standing up to nearly twice my height and extending a palm to ruffle the fur between my ears, saying “How’s it goin’, Foxy? You look a lot better ’an you did last time I saw you at least(!)” gesturing with his other hand up and down my less skinny and less visibly scarred body.
“Never mind that, Victor! What are you doing here?! You didn’t tell me you were coming back to Prosperity!”
He smirks “Yeah, sorry Foxy… It’s a loose lips sink ships kinda deal… Just thought I’d show my friends here the bar you brought me to celebrate after everythin’ was done that time… Didn’t think I’d actually run into you here!”
I stare up at the man, agog, for a few moments before reaching up with both my left hands and closing them around his wrist.
He allows me to drag him back to the head of my table.
“Nafnarl! Gfurnaf! This is him! This is the one I’ve been telling you about for the last [5 years]!” I say to my two Graufna friends before turning to the rest of the table to declare “He’s the man who took down the Giluspris! He’s Victor ‘Cuddles’ Taylor!”
With mirthful bemusement, the Terran raises his left palm to the table to smile “Y’alright guys!” before his eyes scan the faces and his expression goes concerned. He turns to me and asks “Your hubby alright, Foxy?”
I bare my teeth (I hope friendlily) and answer “Fnarnulf’s fine, Victor!… Fuffarn too! This is just a girl’s night…” gesturing at my two friends “…or… it was(!)” gesturing over the four men and two women, of four different species, who joined us to hear my story.
“What did you mean by it not being ‘exactly’ right?” queries Lunvo, the same sceptical Nvar who voiced disbelief before, still looking sceptical (not that I can blame him) but at least impressed by the fact that the ‘con’ has a (imposing looking) Terran stooge now(!)
“Weeeeell…” Victor frowns down at me, mirthfully “…the way she described me dodgin’ that knife attack, she made me sound almost psychic(!)… In reality, she and this guy weren’t as smooth as she seems to think(!) The fact that I even got nicked by someone I was payin’ as much attention to as that is a bad reflection on my reaction time!… Also, she kinda made it sound like I went into their headquarters with a gun in one hand and a lit plasmasword in the other(!) As I recall, I gave ’em all a chance to surrender and come quietly and it were only after they, shall we say, indicated a lack of interest in that option that my weapons first cleared leather!… Oh! And what was with all that comparin’ the way I pant to ventin’ steam engines, Foxy(?!)”
“But…” starts Muan, a nervous tolypeutine Wne woman beside her Wno husband, Kmuw “…you don’t deny it was you and you alone who brought down the Giluspris?… Without help?”
The pale skin of the Terran’s flat face performs a complicated scrunch as he considers the question before answering “Don’t know ’bout ‘without help’… I had Foxy here for showin’ me the way, after I’d done a lotta convincin’… and, once I’d taken care of ’em, local law enforcers came to take the survivors away… Aaaaand… I probably didn’t actually manage to kill or capture every last one of ’em… just gutted its power structure enough that the rats fled the sinkin’ ship(!)”
“Why are you calling her ‘Foxy’?” asks Lunvo, four eyes narrowed in suspicion “‘Fnurfar’ is the name she gave us!”
The large man shrugs his shoulders “I didn’t get her name until we came here to celebrate… she didn’t trust me to give it… Had to call her somethin’, so I called her Foxy.”

Victor raises an eyebrow “You ain’t buyin’ me givin’ her a nickname(!?)”
“I don’t believe any of it! The whole story reeks of the fanciful!”
I bare my teeth and slam my paws on the table before snarling “I don’t care if you question my honesty, Lunvo, but this man saved my husband’s life, my son’s life, the lives of dozens of others, freed me from effective slavery and freed this planet from its largest criminal syndicate! I will not have you questioning his integrity!”
Lunvo cowers away from me, despite the table separating us.

Something so outrageous happened that I had to share it with someone before I started crying. So here I am, traversing through the land of dreams and puppies when suddenly I hear the noise everyone dreads at 2 in the morning. Cats gagging. Now this is a pretty normal occurrence in my house. One of my boys gags any time one of the others leaves a steaming pile of yesterdays Nulo in the litter box, so naturally in my state of bliss, I assume it it little more than my snob of a cat. Things quiet down, I go back to my happiness… until I hear a WWE match break out in my hallway. It travels into my room, onto my bed, and up the cat tree to the left of my nightstand. Putting this cat tree here was my most grievous mistake. The fight pauses as the gagging resumes. I take off my eye mask to turn and make eye contact with the bastard waking me up. Just as I open my mouth to tell him I hate him, a hairball comes flying at me from the top level of the tree, hitting me in the forehead with the precision of a military trained sniper. Not only does this project puke hit me straight in the face, it then rolls down my cheek and onto my freshly washed silk pillowcase. The wrestling match resumes and I am pounced upon by three cats, one of which sniffs my pillow, and tries to cover it up like he would his own feces. Needless to say, I have changed my linens, washed my face, screamed into a different pillow, and the bastards will be sleeping in the living room for the rest of their lives. Goodnight.

I have the desire to describe this experience because it usually helps me deal with things and this is the first time I’ve felt like this!
I’m currently apartment/cat-sitting for my brother for the summer, and in the month I’ve been here, I’ve had a lot of roach encounters. I’m in Florida, so these are the big ass ones that have the potential to wreak absolute chaos (read: they can fly). Now, I’ve had an intense phobia of roaches since I was a kid, but I’ve been handling it in the best way I can (confronting the roach with a shoe and Raid bug spray, killing it while screaming, and then working up the courage to clean it up once I’ve calmed down). It’s been terrible, but I’ve dealt with it.
However, approximately 3 hours ago, while trying to fall asleep, I felt a gnat bothering my face so I got up and turned on the light so I could see it and swat it away for good. However, it was not a gnat. It was a big ass roach. On the bed. Right where I was just laying down.
The thing I felt on my face was a roach.
The adrenaline kicked in and I killed it, but right after that I was hysterical. Hyperventilating, shaking, couldn’t feel my hands or feet, gagged a couple times, etc etc. Went to the bathroom to scrub my face like crazy, ended up scratching at my face afterwards because it still felt dirty, stuff like that.
Ended up texting one of my friends because digitally yelling about my problems is the most immediate way for me to calm down about them. I stopped hyperventilating but still felt all shaky, then the tears started. Cried for a bit then went and curled up on the couch. Was there for about an hour and a half just blankly staring at my phone, and then got up to eat a good snack because I was feeling absolutely ravenous (I had potato chips, Dr Pepper, and an apple for those wondering)
I still don’t feel very physically stable as my legs are kinda shaky. When I get up from the couch I have to take control my breathing, and there’s absolutely no way I’m getting any sleep before sunrise. I can’t close my eyes because every time I do I just think about that feeling. Can’t get comfortable because the slightest sensation on my skin makes me think a bug is there.
Overall, bad experience, can’t say I would recommend.

I have two adult cats that are both around four years old. I adopted them from the same shelter about 9 months ago, but they were not from the same origins and didn't seem like buddies at the shelter (I probably should have thought about that before adopting together, but that ship has sailed.)
I also have three younger sibling cats (almost kittens) who just turned one. They were adopted maybe two weeks before the two adults.
Both adult cats are more annoying than any cats I have ever lived with (and there have been a decent number). I'm not sure if I chose the most irritating cats in the shelter by random chance or if something I did made them this way post-adoption.
Here are the summaries - looking for any and all insight into these behaviors and how to stop them if at all possible. Thanks in advance!
CAT #1: Male, neutered, FIV+, has some skin and GI sensitivities, but overall in decent health. Came from an outdoor rescue situation in another state and was at the shelter for maybe a year before we chose him. Large tuxedo with a history of fights with other cats, maybe bullied/lower on the social chain outdoors. Quite sweet, really, and gentle for his size.
Issue #1: RELENTLESS about begging for food anytime I am in the kitchen. I basically avoid being in there as much as possible at this point. I can't bear the whining. I feel guilty preparing my own food or cleaning up when I'm not feeding him. (yes, I'm aware I'm letting him run the show here and that's mine to work on.) People say don't give in to their begging/whining since if you do you are reinforcing negative behavior and they'll just keep doing it. But I can't NEVER feed him. So sometimes he does get food when he's being irritating and whining at me. Thus he keeps trying nonstop since it sometimes works. I can't find a way out of this.
Issue #2: He seems to have no clue how to entertain himself. He watches the younger cats chase each other, play with balls/toys/mice, track toys, etc. and I can tell he wants to be part of the action but he just can't figure it out or maybe is too timid to join in. They try to chase him and bat at him and on occasion he'll wrestle for a few seconds but then he just gives up and sits in the middle of the floor staring at me or the other cats looking bored/frustrated. I feel for him, I do, but I do not have time to just swing wand toys for him endlessly (this is what he seems to want) with five cats, a FT job, and other personal obligations. He doesn't play well regardless b/c he will just latch on to the toy with his powerful teeth/mouth and not let it go, so that game doesn't go far even if I am giving it my time. The other cats entertain each other, and play independently. They will even keep swatting around a wand toy for at least a few minutes on their own after I leave the room. He never does this. It just seems like he is so dependent on me for everything and I'm not able to give him the time he desires and I feel endlessly terrible about it but at the same time annoyed with him for being so needy and following me around everywhere.
CAT #2: Male, neutered, no known health issues other than a sensitive stomach (eats too fast and throws it up several times a week) and lots of hairballs (he's got a super long fluffy coat). This cat seems to not care at all that the others are playing without him and basically considers himself a human and not interested in the usual feline activities or making friends with the other cats. I think he'd be great as an only cat, but that's not something I can offer him. He is unbelievably clingy. It truly blows my mind. He basically just wants to be held or pet or chin/neck/feet/belly-rubbed 24/7. When I don't give him this, he stares at me, or meows very loudly and just sits at my feet, or circles my legs as I walk (nearly tripping me), and can't understand why he's not my first and only priority. He acts lonely/bored whenever he doesn't have human hands on him or is being held. There's another adult in the household who gives in to him a lot more, but I never have from day one and he still expects it from me. Again, it's really quite sweet that's he's so into us and just wants love and cuddles, but I don't have the kind of life that enables me to provide that. He also swats at the other cats as they walk by and generally seems annoyed they exist and wishes they would get out of his house.
The main thing I'm struggling with is whether to return them, which I really don't want to do since they were already rescue cats and in a shelter and I don't think uprooting and more transition is fair to them. But I guess I feel like I'm not the right person for either of them... and also they seem to not like each other much so they'd probably have been better off separated into two different homes. But if I keep them and follow through on my commitment, how do I learn to just love them and not be constantly annoyed? I'm starting to dislike these innocent creatures and talk unkindly to them and I know they don't deserve that. I just am so fed up and burned out and I desperately need them be less needy. Like the three younger cats who do their own thing, and love when I pet them or have time to play but are also just fine on their own. This is how most of the cats I've known in my life have been. I don't understand CAT #1 and CAT #2 and I think I'm letting that lack of understanding and frustration turn into my giving them even less time than I used to because I'm so annoyed at their behavior and demands.

I'll try to keep this as short and concise as possible. Up until 6 months ago there was no issues at all with her health, however it started with dry red patches of skin on her hands that got bad enough to start bleeding.
The patches moved to her forearms, she has a circular dry patch on her upper thigh, she's experienced dryness 'down there' also.
A couple of times she has had a red rash show up across her face and bridge of the nose, and now just recently her ears are being affected quite badly, and they seem to be getting worse - dryness, burning and itchiness mainly around the back of the ears and the ear lobes have actually swelled up, a couple of her fingers swelled up and as well as her lips at times.
We've been to the doctors a handful of times who first suggested allergies, however anti histamines don't seem to help, we did an allergy test which had some interesting results such as a sensitivity to rice, but she still gets flair ups when avoiding anything she is sensitive too.
The last time we went to the doctors he said it maybe fungal so has told he have her canesten thursh treatment and told her to use nizoral shampoo on the body parts affected twice a week, but the redness around her ears is till spreading and getting worse.
I've had this suspicion for a while it could be an autoimmune issue so I mentioned this to the doctor who has sent her for a blood test - still waiting on the results of this.
Please any insight or help would be massively appreciated as I don't know what else we can do or try, she's been using highly recommended skin products to try and combat the dryness, which gives some temporary relief but she's still in pain and itching quite a lot.
Doctor has referred her to a dermatologist but the wait time is apparently upto 2 years and at the rate this seems to be getting worse her whole body could be covered by then. Ive attached pictures.

I'm due to inherit around £12,000 soon and I'm considering using a significant portion of it (around £10k) towards a private surgical procedure (tummy tuck and liposuction). I've recently lost a significant amount of weight and this surgery would greatly help with my overall health and well-being.
My question is: Would spending the money on this procedure be considered deprivation of capital? I wouldn't be able to afford this surgery otherwise. I plan to report the increase in savings and expect a temporary reduction in benefits. However, I intend to use the money to book the consultation and pay for the procedure, which would then reduce my savings back down in a relatively short amount of time. I've read the following:
A person is not to be treated as depriving themselves of capital if the person disposes of it for the purposes of (a)reducing or paying a debt owed by the person; or (b)purchasing goods or services if the expenditure was reasonable in the circumstances of the person's case. - In my eyes, it seems reasonable that the private surgical procedure would cost a high amount, as private surgery isn't cheap, and around £10k is the market rate, as would be evidenced from the quote I would receive from the hospital, as well as the bill I would receive.
Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I've yet to speak to my GP, but based on my research here - https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/cosmetic-procedures/cosmetic-surgery/tummy-tuck/ - I understand that the NHS typically doesn't cover tummy tucks as they are considered cosmetic procedures. Since I want the surgery for cosmetic reasons and self-esteem, and not due to any health issues like sores, I know I wouldn't meet the NHS's extremely strict criteria for approval.
I have worked hard to lose 100 pounds and have been left with unsightly loose skin, which affects how I feel about my body. The inheritance would enable me to afford this surgery, something that would be otherwise out of my financial reach. This surgery would significantly improve my self-esteem and help me achieve the body I desire.
Undergoing major surgery with several months of recovery time is a significant step, but it's not simply about returning to a pre-inheritance financial state. It's about taking advantage of this opportunity to afford the surgery and improve my quality of life while I can.
