My past work experiences include restaurant manager (2 years), music industry (1.5 years) and software engineer (9 months). I graduated from a good university but as a liberal arts major (deemed somewhat useless in this economy). I thought I had finally found a good career when I landed the software engineer job. It allowed me to work remote, had good salary, a healthy work-life balance, etc. But then I was hit by a company layoff 9 months in. The whole tech industry seemed to have taken a hit and I have been struggling to find a job for over a year since. I have luckily been able to make some sort of income with side hustles, but none of them are really consistent. I am looking for something to give me consistent income. I would like another remote job, but at this point I am pretty open for anything. Any guidance will be appreciated of somebody with my background/experiences can do to elevate further.

Most of their albums have pretty good guitar work but I think the guitar work on Super Collider isn’t very good for Megadeth’s standards. Just look at the title track. That entire song is literally just 3 open chords. A G D. You can write good songs with three chords but this song doesn’t use them in an interesting way. The chords are just played one at a time. There’s probably like 2 or 3 memorable riffs on this album. A lot of the time thee guitars just feel like background music instead of being the forefront of the album as it should be on a Megadeth record. The solos aren’t very good either. I feel bad for Broderick because he’s a shredder and this style of radio friendly rock just doesn’t fit him.

In the past 1,600 chapters, it feels like you can count on one hand the number of times she was actually interesting. She's ridiculously overpowered but lacks any real thought or struggle, which I find boring. Her supposed flaw, which should be maddening to deal with, never actually bothers her (cue "Frozen" music). She resembles those overpowered fantasy protagonists who overcome everything but lack 'character development and story' because we have little insight into what goes on in her mind. We also get very few POV chapters for the rest of the cast.
She's just built differently, forever and will be. She's the type of character who can always overcome challenges because challenges don’t really exist for her; they only make her more overpowered. However, in this story, we aren't given the 'how'—just that she is Nephis, and that’s why she can do it.
Cassie is a far more interesting character, perhaps because we get her POVs, and she actually introduces conflicts and emotions despite her mysterious façade. Nephis, on the other hand, is as shallow and bland as they come in terms of character depth.
Despite Mordret's limited screen time, the prelude to and the events in the second nightmare made his character much more interesting. Despite his unkillable nature, he didn't always succeed and even chose to compromise with Sunny. I don't need to explain Sunny's character; it's just Nephis that feels like a missed opportunity. When you write a character with a tragic hero background and stick with that from start to finish without elaborating or developing the character, that's what Nephis represents—a classic textbook hero with a tragic background but supremely talented heritage which allowed and forced her to become strong but that's it.
Overall, as a mirror to Sunny she may have the overwhelming advantage in strength and resolve if you go by the "tell" of the story, but as a character she's as underdeveloped and bland as the typical Manga/Manhwa OP character and is even outshined by the supporting cast let alone Sunny.

i really enjoy the music that they use in all the episodes but all i can find online is the great barrier reef soundtrack. i mean the background music during a montage or when a specific gup is used (especially the gup X)

I remember when I was 10 (around 2010) I used to LOVE watching these videos because they were funny as hell.

• The singers were two women in their 20s. I think they had short blonde bobs and were very thin. They had a noticeable accent when they sang, I think Eastern European. I seem to remember them being Ukrainian, but I'm not sure.
  
• Their music was objectively bad. Off-key, flat, and monotonous singing. Very bland and repetitive instrumentals. Stiff and cheesy dancing. The singers were not professional. I think they came from a wealthy family that allowed them to make these videos.
  
• The videos were the funniest thing. You could tell that they were made sincerely and without a trace of irony or actively trying to be cheesy. However, because of the lack of experience and skill, they came across as goofy. I remember two videos; the one with the lyrics "boys, boys, boys, and girls, girls, girls" was set in a party/dance club. The twins wore black dresses and the partygoers wore 2000s club clothes. I think some of the male dancers were shirtless. The video consisted of the twins dancing limply in front of the crowd, while the dancers were going apeshit in the background. The set was black with gold lighting.
  
• The other video was set in a large pool. The song was about being on vacation. The twins wore bathing suits and were laying on lounge chairs. I think they were at a pool party but I'm not sure. Throughout the video, there were shots of people at the beach and dancing on boats.
  

That's all I remember. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I'm working on adding a Live Activity to my application and I'm having an awful time trying to get it to update the state and attributes in the background.
I can successfully start the activity and update it whilst in the foreground. The activity updates (or should) every time the currently playing song changes and that happens in the background an awful lot (as music apps tend to live in the background).
I'm using MPMusicPlayerController.applicationQueuePlayer to play my music from Apple's catalogue and one oddity I've noticed is if I manually hit 'next track' on lock screen controls (which is controlled entirely by the MPMusicPlayerController) it successfully updates the LiveActivity even in the background, but letting the song play out and a new song start, does not.
I've tried caching the last good state from the 'start' and update methods of the Live Acitivty class and then calling an update using the cached state from a background task but this also doesn't seem to work.
I've seen a lot of conflicting information about doing this using background tasks. Apple's docs say you can, but people elsewhere saying it doesn't work.
Any help here would be massively appreciated and I'd really rather not do this from a push notification server side as that would be a whole new backend service called by the front end every time the song changes.
Including the interface for starting and updating the live activity for reference (ignore the fact it's a Capacitor plugin interface, everything i'm referencing above is happening at the native level)

I was texting my friend last night and the converseation turned sour. For context, she has a pretty important test this morning. We were chatting, I was talking about how I listen to music before exams and she said she liked to cram
She said she was doing some active recall whilst watching Netflix, and I asked "Why the Netflix?". She said she liked it as background noise and didn't want to work, so I said it would be better to focus just on working or relaxing. She said that I listen to music while revising, and I said that me doing something wrong doesn't mean she isn't doing something wrong.
Her "How am I doing something wrong? Isn't wrong your own opinion?"
Me "yeah?"
Her "Should you really talk about right or wrong?"
Me "That's not the question at hand though."
Her "It is though, ur question only directs to one answer because its based upon opinion."
Me "Uh huh. Then that's my opinion."

An hour passes. Then, she says how she appreciates my advice but it made her feel sad and she still feels miserable despite an hour passing, and she wished I hadn't said it. So I said "Yeah, that's fair, sorry for saying it. Hope you feel better, I didn't mean to make you feel bad when I said it."
Then she goes on to say how she's ended up crying because I didn't want to address the fact that she wasn't happy with something that I didn't think was a big deal.
I said I didn't realise she was so upset by it, and it was my mistake for not mentioning it earlier.
She says she's not that bothered by the phrase, but instead by the fact that I won't get why she's upset, so I won't feel sorry .
I said that my other friends have different emotional tolerances to her so i'm not that quick at catching whats going.
She says that me saying the phrase is like pushing someone over before a marathon and that even if nothing happens, you shouldn't just go "oops" and leave. How it didn't matter if I thought she was just a bit annoyed or very annoyed, I should've apologised either way.
After this, I say "sure, thats fair enough."
She says "I don't think you get it, you're still too stubborn and i'm still too sensitive but what does it matter." She sends a long text talking about she's "clinically mentally off" and how my comment kicked off a terrible migraine and she's very upset and that I should've genuinely apologised when I realised I was wrong. She says that when I apologise, I should do it without setting boundaries like "I'll apologise for this even though I didn't do this or I that, or my other friends react differently to you".
I thanked her for explaining and told her good luck, but I'd like another pair of eyes on this. I never wanted her to feel bad, and I am sorry for hurting her feelings, but I feel like there wasn't much else I could've done. She has mentioned she has mental health issues before, but extremely vaguely and rarely.

For the sheer fun of it, I went to Chat GPT with a creative writing assignment. For Figures of Speech prompts, I gave a free parameters, including the word length of 500-1000 words and the prompts for a few of the Fifty mentioned in the series.
I gave the AI creative license and let's just say, they're a long way off from replacing the better writers and I think it just makes it easier to do those lower level tasks and let's leave the creators a slightly higher level of skill to create actual tangible and engaging writing.

i was thinking of the other day how a lot of christian rappers have a very similar rapper in mainstream
this is solely based on their music style and aura/ vibe not personal life
let me know if you have ideas, these are the ones i thought of
Lecrae- Kendrick lamar- lecrae and kendrick both have the "black and proud" mentality, they both are great artists, lecrae is known as the best christian rapper imo, kendrick is one of the best rappers ever imo
Andy Mineo- kanye west- both great producers that can rap with versatility
Hulvey- mac miller- both have a positive kind of vibe to songs
Caleb Gordon- lil baby- their rapping style both share a melodic sound
1k phew- young thug- both great trap artists that are unique
Aha Gazelle- future- they both have a singing sound in their rap songs
Alex Jean- chance the rapper- they both have great positive messages
Trip Lee- dmx- they both share an aggressive rapping style and convey many emotions
Tedashii- notorious big- their booming voice which is so iconic, they're both great rappers that are trail blazers
Kb- playboi carti- both trap artists with high energy they can both hype you up in the moment
nobigdyl.- j. cole- lyricism and their personality, they both are crazy wordplayers
whatuprg- Yeat theyre both great trap artists that come from a hispanic background

It has taken me a while, but finally, I was able to finish Lords of the Fallen, and what a ride it's been. Big kudos to every single person who had the pleasure of working on the title. It will certainly remain one of the coolest souls-like games I've beaten.
I wanted to write a post to sum up my thoughts, while talking about both the good and the bad.
What I liked:

• The amount of gear we get to pick and choose from is truly insane. It's great for Fashion Souls, obviously, but not only.
• Tints allowed us to seamlessly combine different outfits for great effects.
• Parrying is quite satisfying, and it doesn't get long until you get the hang of it. Plus, it's nice that the parry window is different based on your weapons and/or shields.
• Radiance & Inferno stats improving all sorts of magical attributes, while also providing additional insight into items that would require some "occult" knowledge was really good, and it made perfect sense.
• Our hub, Skyrest Bridge, is a nice place to hang around, and it's also fun that, from time to time, we get to unlock shortcuts that link with the location in what can only be described as very convenient.
• NPCs in general were fun and interesting, Harkyn being obviously the most intriguing of them all.

What I didn't like:

• I like the in-game currencies and the stuff they unlock, but they're too hard to farm. We need alternate ways to get them. Fix that, and the game goes up on the 1-10 scale by 0,5.
• I was a bit disappointed with how easy some of the bosses were. Spurned Progeny comes to mind, as well as two last ones, the big chungus of a king, and Adyr. The bosses that later became regular enemies were much better, though.
• Where's the music in the game? I swear, only some boss fights and Skyrest Bridge have ambient music in the background. And even in other locations, ambient sounds are inconsistent. How on earth I hear no huge bell ring when I clearly see, I think it was in the Abbey, one that's the size of a Ford Fiesta swinging in the air?
• Clinging to bad traditions isn't nice. A Souls-like can have decent and clear quest lines and not rely on player randomly stumbling upon NPCs by mistake. I missed at least one quest because I got to and finished the Fief of the Chill Curse after Pilgrim's Perch (as per a certain NPCs advice).
• I am fairly confident there is no way to create what's even a presentable female character in the character creator. Male characters don't have that problem.
