Total Drama Island With Ace Attorney Lawyers Part 7: Episodes 13 and 14 (TEAMS MERGE)
Recap: Given how much drama happened before, the teams were graced with a trust-based challenge. While Kristoph didn’t make himself look any better, the one who ultimately suffered the most was Blackquill, whose demeanor changed after Athena’s elimination. Not trusting that he would kill again or simply wanting to eliminate a threat before merge, he ultimately fell at this juncture. Nahyuta also started losing trust for Ga’ran, but he kept that all to himself to survive the premerge. In the next challenge, the teams had to endure Chef’s boot camp. While both teams were close, Kristoph ultimately ended the challenge by knocking down Nahyuta from the tree with a rock, winning the challenge for the Defense. For his irritating caffeine withdrawal symptoms, the prosecution handed Godot his fate. Who will take the final team win and the first merge win in these next 2 episodes? Who will rise from the ashes to compete again? Let’s find out. Here are the teams as they currently stand:
https://preview.redd.it/4fuwircp7y3d1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=fe3a733427b718e15d9f7f0c4e9448fca1fd5cf5
Episode 12 Summary: The final team challenge is the extreme sports challenge. Each team must assign 4 people to compete in 3 separate challenges. The first challenge is skydiving where the rest of the team has to make sure their teammate lands on a mattress as close to the center as possible. Apollo and Klavier both volunteer. While both teams manage to get them to land on the targets, the Defense has more people and thus get a more accurate landing for their first point. The next challenge is a moose rodeo for which Phoenix and Nahyuta both volunteer. Since Nahyuta has a kinder demeanor towards animals, he managed to stay on for much longer than poor Phoenix, netting the Prosecution their first point. For the final game, both a driver for one team and a skier for the other and vice-versa must compete to collect flags for a mud skiing challenge. The driver volunteers are Kristoph and Ga’ran and the skier volunteers are Gregory and Miles. Ga’ran keeps trying to throw off Gregory but can’t find a way without breaking the challenge rules, allowing him to get most of the flags. Kristoph tries to throw off Miles, but actually succeeds before the last stretch by cutting him loose with a sharp object, meaning Miles can’t complete the course and the Defense wins. After the challenge, Blaise and Ga’ran rope Nahyuta into voting out Miles since he’s the most likely to ally against them in merge. Miles ultimately got voted off… BUT before he could get on the Dock of Shame
https://reddit.com/link/1d5la1w/video/sxpvdper7y3d1/player
Gregory interrupts the ceremony and says his goodbyes to Miles! He regrets not being able to interact with him as someone on the other team, but is proud of him for making it this far. He didn’t join to win the money, but instead to break him away from Von Karma, however he didn’t expect Miles to take him down himself. Having served his purpose on the show, Gregory volunteers to get eliminated in his son’s place. Miles initially objects to this, but Greg wants him to reunite with his childhood friend Phoenix and his friends not as rivals, but as allies. Chris allows this to happen as he found Gregory Edgeworth “too boring for TV ratings” with his straight-laced demeanor and was itching to eliminate him. And so it was that Gregory Edgeworth was the final contestant not to make it to merge.
MERGE TIME: Since Mia and Ga’ran are the only women left, there will be no Buffet of Disgustingness challenge and we’ll skip right to merge! HOWEVER before that can happen, 2 producer fan favorite contestants will return to the game. Please welcome back Prosecutors Franziska Von Karma and Simon Blackquill! Here is the merge cast:
https://preview.redd.it/vf5fbydx7y3d1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=f15f5f836c13dfcf9d42ca21d1e4a3f583c6bd59
Episode 13 Summary: Simon holds little ill-will towards his team for voting him out, but Franziska is pissed especially towards Miles. She takes out her anger by whipping everybody. The challenge is a game of Say Uncle where everyone has to endure a certain situation for 10 seconds. I won’t bore you with the details of who gets what situation and if they fail it, so I’ll instead list who does the best. Means can make himself calm when he wants to be, Mia could disassociate with a spirit (though this would eventually backfire with the spirit giving up), Blaise is pretty hardy, and Nahyuta is possibly the most calm. However, Blackquill is the champion of endurance and he would be the most likely to win immunity out of everyone. After the challenge, Miles follows his father’s wishes and interacts with Phoenix (much to Franziska’s annoyance). It’s awkward, but Phoenix understands where he’s coming from. Kristoph finally decides to propose an alliance with Ga’ran and Blaise, to which they accept. Nahyuta goes to Apollo and his allies to tell them to just give up in the face of his and Ga’ran’s inevitable dominance. While his allies are annoyed, Apollo notices his bracelet tense up. Nahyuta did this intentionally to get his attention and Apollo knew it. The votes against Franziska were so vast that there was nothing she could do about them. Just as she reentered the game, she had it all thrown away.

2024.06.01 13:45 Accurate_Yogurt_4155 Fuck hemangiosarcoma - How to process his final day/decision to let him go - gutted beyond belief, please help I just want to join him

Long story short: Otis was my baby and he had terminal cancer and was losing function and quality of life rapidly this past week. As soon as it went into a range where he was just lying there, breathing fast, not much interest in the usual things, including food and water, we let him go. Logically I knew it was coming, and didn't want to make him suffer or selfishly keep him around languishing through bad days, but somehow I thought I'd be ok eventually. I've had months to know this was coming, and then it was over too soon and I wish a few things had gone differently at the very end (but with the vet there, and my husband, etc, it was hard to not leave Otis's side to oversee some minor details -- like adding special sweetener to his saucer of milk that he drank while getting the sedation shot, or having the meats I'd prepped right there, since he finished his milk so fast and I wanted him distracted and eating instead of feeling the pinch). Anyway, I want to die and I don't know how to process this. I just want my baby back.
(Super long story below, and it's not even everything - no need to read it, I'm sure. Sorry so long, this all just happened 8 hours ago)
Otis was my little 9 pound baby. My shadow. My love bug. I can't put into words our bond and love, but I know many on here get it. He simply wasn't "a dog" he was our baby
Before his 11th bday he suddenly had a large painful swollen shoulder. Turned out to be hemangiosarcoma deep in his muscle. Came on overnight. We consulted with surgeons and oncologists and decided that with such a dismal prognosis, plus his insane fear of the vet, and questionable findings on his ultrasound and X-rays re: possible spread (nothing conclusive), plus's grade 5 heart murmur and (medically managed) luxating patella in his back knee, we'd take him home and spoil him rotten for whatever time he had left.
Well within a week the pain/pressure in his shoulder became too much and we opted for palliative surgery (amputating his front leg), since he was otherwise "fine" and totally himself. Just a painful shoulder and no signs of spread beyond that - just to get him out of pain for his remaining days. They told us it's a surprisingly easy surgery and recovery, and he did amazing.
He adjusted insanely well to tripod life within 2 weeks, still loved his walks, hikes and outings, tons of special foods (beyond the home cooked meals he already enjoyed) - he was the absolute center of our world.
Since it was muscular, they couldn't say when it would return - not quite as bad as hemangio in organs, not quite as good as the skin version, but not many stats. And little dogs usually don't get this, so we weren't sure what to expect but knew his surgery was just to get him out of pain and it would hopefully not return for a few months +. Clean margins on the surgery, etc
Well he only got about 5 weeks before another lump showed up- thankfully not painful this time. And then another.
Ultimately he got 2.5 months from diagnosis before his belly was distended, he had a giant lump on his back the size of an apple, and smaller ones started popping up other places, and his heart and lungs were working way too hard (breathing 60-90 breaths a minute at rest).
He still wanted to go on short walks and go out for burritos and stay by my side all day long (thankfully I work from home). Didn't seem to be in any pain, but the pressure started building in his belly which made his heart and lungs have to work harder this past week.
Then 5 days ago he lost his appetite and thirst and threw up a few times. We tried an appetite stimulant and it helped a lot, but he wasn't the same guy. Just wanted to rest mostly, and eat our foods if they were new/novel, but they made his belly too full and he'd breathe heavily after eating, even though he loved the foods. His eyes seemed duller /glassy the past 3 days, And then started to withdraw a bit (though he still always wanted/needed me right nearby - carried him up and downstairs with me all day long).
The first night he panted overnight (last night) I knew it was too much. I carried him downstairs still in his bed (he normally ran down on his own), and he didn't want to get out of bed to go potty so I just opened the door and he looked out into his yard and into the sunshine. He wasn't himself at all. Normally he runs out and barks or snorts at the neighbor dogs and kicks and makes sure all is under control out there. But this morning he didn't want to get out of bed, even in front of the open door.
He didn't want us petting him, and last night when I carried him upstairs to bed something hurt and he made a little cry. Most likely tumors inside were bothered by being picked up, and also the distensión and pressure in his belly. That night he panted overnight several times and I knew it was time.
We had someone come over and help him transition that evening (tonight).
And as soon as the appointment was scheduled , and after not eating or drinking without the stimulant (and even then, still needing hand feeding of only new people food), suddenly he was willing to eat the steak and chicken we cooked for him - loved it so much. Ate all kinds of foods all day long until the appt.
After laying on the floor on his side, belly so big, breathing fast, coordination with his legs starting to fail him the last few days, falling down today several times (and yesterday) and not able to walk outside other than a quick potty break, he suddenly got such a burst of energy where the vet arrived.
I knew this would probably happen, but it was so hard to see him bouncing around and happy and excited, even though that's all I wanted for him. One last happy day, after several days of just laying on the floor, breathing faster. Just made the timing question a little harder to see him perk up and eat after a week of constant decline and loss of function/coordination.
It all happened a little faster than I expected, and a few details about his final treats of steak and chicken and milk got a little muddled bc my husband stepped in to get those so I could hold Otis's head and hand the whole time. I know it's also my grief making me upset that I couldn't make it exactly as planned, but he went peacefully and it went well, considering. We told him how much we loved him and i got to hold him one last time. I couldn't believe I was saying goodbye. I tried to not cry until after he was gone, and just love him and soothe him and not stress him out. He was the best boy. My baby. My soul dog.
When his heart stopped I couldn't breathe. Shaking, holding my breath, just beyond.
I knew he had terminal cancer for the last 3 months and thought somehow that I could handle this - I'd been processing it this whole time and made every day count even more than usual - but I feel so empty and lost and guilty and devastated.
I feel like I let this happen to him. I feel like I wanted the appt to be a little different in some ways. I need to get over those details. We didn't want him to suffer anymore. As much as we thought we made the call before it was too late, I'm sure he spent many days and hours feeling bad. He didn't deserve any of this.
I want to see him tomorrow morning, snorting and oinking and meowing and making all his weird noises, and licking my face all over. I want my baby back.

Has anyone looked at the div class differences on dmaorg site? Reordering the 25 Clancy posts - the last post could be Nico- 024 02MOON 25
I noticed something on the dmaorg site- that the posts each have different formatting according to 5 "div class" sections. The formatting really isn't that different in each class and it doesn't seem to be connected to the various file types that are posts. (this was examined using a lot of help from the dmaorg fan wiki which already had the letters typed and I copied and pasted them.)
We know it's a cycle, it has happened again and again. What if the moon dates don't order as our actual dates do?
There were 5 timeframes for the posts- the ones that were already there when the site was found or shortly after, the ones that were posted just before/during the trench era, the ones that were posted after the files were terminated and the site was restored (during scaled and icy) and the ones that were posted ahead of Clancy.
If we reorder the 25 Clancy posts by their div classes (putting class 1 first, then 2, etc.), it puts the yellow stripe picture right before the letter it decodes. We also get the 024 02MOON 25 last. And I just realized that this letter is not signed. What if it's a bishop describing recruiting banditos? What if a bishop is realizing he's not so different from them? That he once believed he was a citizen, an escapee, an exception? Is he following the torches to find the banditos?

I’ve made it out.
I feel weightless. I know that place had always held me down, but for the first time, I can feel the levity that I had hoped for. It’s been three nights now, and my breathing has changed. It’s slower, and more full. It’s like the air out here is worth taking in.
I can see it back in the distance, and I’d be lying if I said that it wasn’t constantly on my mind. I wish I could turn that fear off, but maybe the further I go, the less that fear will affect me. I feel betrayed by what I assumed was home - if I ever end up back there, I won’t be able to look at it the same way.
They are asleep. They’re so sure that they know the truth, and carry on throughout their day with the same meaningless tasks. They’ve forgotten to look up, and to look outward, to understand that this isn’t about ‘in there.'
This is about ‘out here.’
This new world surrounds me. I used to think the walls back home were massive – these green cliffs engulf me, and place me right in the middle – Trench is quite precarious at times, and it’s easy to grow weary. But it’s real, and it’s true, and I’d much rather endure reality than to mindlessly be obedient to a life that someone else created for me. I’ve obsessed about this world for so long, that it feels more like home than anything I’ve experienced. Somehow, in this vast openness, I feel more protected than ever.
The landscape feels endless, and I’ve found myself walking for hours without any true evidence of getting further down. But I’ve seen plants and colors out here that I’m not sure I’ve witnessed before. There’s a beauty in the strangest places, and the curiosity of what’s next continues to motivate me.
I wonder who else is out here. If what I assumed inside is true, there’s got to be more like me. Sometimes I’ll feel a presence, or think I see something in my periphery, only to look up and see nothing. It’s just another thing that I’m afraid of that also excites me. It all just confirms all of the things that I hoped to be true for all of this time.
I am out here and I am very alive. I’m sometimes scared, but always discovering something new, and I will not stop. Cover me!

I can’t face this page for long enough to write what I’m truly feeling. I am only wrought with more questions about what I assumed to be true, questions about what my own path is, and the question that has plagued me every night that I lie here, back in city: Did I give up?
The force I saw between him and his bishop seemed tense to me, and frightening. But the memory of that exchange has had time to fester and replay in my mind long enough that I’m questioning if I even remembered it correctly. I assumed the bishop was forcefully retrieving his subject, but now I wonder if the bishop was actually trying to save him, and he refused.
I stayed out there for five days after I watched it happen. I haven’t seen him since. Maybe he got away, and was still out in Trench with me. Maybe the bishop chased him down, and brought him home.
Home?
Did I just call this place home?
After all of the endless beauty that I saw out there, am I now convincing myself that I’m actually better off within these confines?
I admit, it was more difficult than I expected. Nothing could have prepared me for how much the ‘unknown’ can consume me. Vast landscapes and endless possibilities, yet coupled with endless danger. I became anxious. I became tired. I became hungry. Every step I took became harder than the last, jumping from jagged rocky step to step, or pulling myself through thick forest - it all became debilitating, and I was sure that I couldn’t go on.
Keons approached as the sun rose one morning. I wasn’t scared. I was relieved. After all that he had taught me, his presence was the most comforting moment that I had in days, and I couldn’t help but be happy to see him. In true Keons fashion, he wrapped his arms around me, then put his hands under my face, looked me in the eyes, and said, “Clancy, child, let’s go home.”
I’ve been here for a few weeks now, and while the routines of this world are comforting, and certainly easier than life out there, my mind keeps bouncing between the two places.
Which one is home? Are the bishops protecting us, and the torches upon the hilltops dangerous? Or is it the other way around? My dreams pull me from world to world, and I feel lost in between all of it.
There is still so much I do not understand.

I'm not as scared as I used to be. Their mystery begins to fade as a method to defeat them becomes more clear. I no longer feel powerless. I can outsmart them. This new power of psychokinesis worked, and I believe it can work again. I stand here, looking down at the line where the water meets the sand - a starting line. All the while, knowing there is a finish line across the Strait. Their compass lies, but mine remains true. I've left embers of inspiration, I only hope whatever spark was left has grown to a torch, and together we create an inferno

CLANCY_S JOURNAL
The perplexities of the Dema horizon didn't occur to me until my ninth year. It was then that I began to contemplate the existential, and decide what type of impression I wanted my life to make. Naturally, to fuel my hope, I looked out upon the distance of the land that had cultivated me, only this time with a new awareness of the obstruction that my youthful ignorance had allowed me to overlook. Was it there the whole time? How had I not seen something so obvious? I am reminded of the moment daily, as the idealization directly collides with a unique hope for my own future. As a child, I looked upon Dema with wonder, today, I am wrought with frustration, as I spend each day squinting for a glimpse of the top of the looming wall that has kept us here. It was upon my ninth year that I learned that Dema wasn’t my home. This village, after all of this time, was my trap.
Before I became realized, I had deep affection for Dema. There was a wonderful structure to the city that put my cares to rest. Streets and locations were dependable, and the responsibilities of the day seemed to be accomplished with minimal effort. Once a task was taught and understood, we delighted in our ability to complete our obligations timely, and felt secure in knowing tomorrow’s duties would be accomplished with the same efficiency. We all worked to represent our bishop with honor, and knew that each inhabitant of our region had a like-minded dedication to consistency.
Keons embodied the spirit of this dedication. Of Dema’s nine bishops, Keons was revered as unwavering and forthright, possessing the ability to achieve focus that was rare for most on our region. We all admired him, and felt honored to be inhabitants his region. While we had heard legend of the ruthlessness of other bishops, Keons possessed a stoic demeanor unlike anyone I had ever met, and we were all proud to serve.

They’re asleep. The night took forever to arrive, and now we’re almost
ready. We’ve studied the watchers and know that there’s no chance that
we can step through unnoticed. So, instead of trying to hide
ourselves, we’ll make sure that all of us are noticed. It’s been one
year since the last convocation, and tomorrow’s Annual Assemblage of
Glorified will be the biggest spectacle this concrete coffin of a city
has seen all year. If we time it right, we’ll divert the attention of
the watchers and finally take the step though. We’ve had no contact,
but we’re hoping the other side will be able to find a way in. We’re
not sure of the breach location, but we are willing to risk being
smeared in order to find it. We know that we must go lower, and wait
for the torches. They’ve never seen anything quite like this, and by
morning, everything will be different. I’m terrified and excited, all
at the same time. They don’t control us.

What is this thing? This device? This gift? Some sort of neurological connection or expansion. Psychokinetic weapon?
This is absurd.
Why was this given to me? Why am I the only one that can weild it? Was this the reason that I survived? My mind is racing as I wait here on the rocks - staring off into the darkness. Waiting for our torches to be mirrored - the signal he told me to wait for.
It feels oddly familiar. Not the spikes in my hand, but the power it harnesses, I've felt it before. Is this also the source of those rumors I heard in the dark corners of the city? Legends and stories that I assumed were myth, inspired by children's nightmares - tales of what the bishops would use the bodies for. Those "honorable" citizens who acheived The Glorious Gone - referred to as available vessels.
It all begins to make sense.
The episodes I would have: the blood red vision, my dreams of flying, the out of body account of the rider in the river, the decaying hosts of the television show, the robed figures that commanded the doomed ship...
Had we all been "seized" by the bishops using this same technique? Is this where their power comes from? Are they immortal, or just feeding off the next body, giving their hosts a brief second-life? I am in my original life, why am I available to this control?
This whole time I thought I was battling my inner self. Was I actually under assault for something else? someONE else?
This small eerie island has made me a weapon. We both believe that we can use it to change the momentum of this war. Now, we must return to the mainland where they should be there to recieve is. We will destroy and rebuild. Though it's been years since he last spoke with them, I hope they have not lost faith in The Torchbearers plan.
But how could any of this have been planned?

To refer to Dema as m[y] home has never felt accurate. Dema, t[o] me, has simply been the place that I’ve existed, or, the ‘slot’ they’ve put me in. I’ve heard stories abo[u]t the ide[a] of “home,” and its depiction has always seemed warm f[r]om the storyt[e]llers’s de[s]cription. [T]here was a romant[i]c ownership of the p[l]ace they inhabited that I admired, but cou[l]d never relate to. Thi[s] place, my p[l]ace, however, s[e]ems devoid of the romance and wond[e]r that the old stories tell. But somewhere between the iron order and infallible [p]recis[i]on of Dema, a hum of wo[n]der exists. It’s this quiet wonder that my mind tends to [g]ets lost in. This hope of discovery alone has birthed a new version of myself; A better version, I hope, that will find a way to experience what’s beyond these colossal walls.

I haven’t had the ability to write for what seems like a lifetime. This deprivation is what weighed on me the most. Not the lack of food, or the change of scenery - they wouldn’t let me write anything down.
Well, at least not without them present …
I remember that day vividly. First, they let me out. Even though the hallway was still gray and drab, the new experience was a shock to my system - significantly different than usual captivity. I tried to match the rhythm of the nameless guard’s footsteps as we echoed down the long corridor. I followed close behind, as if I had no choice. Cold concrete encapsulated us and seemed to cast a spill of synthetic calmness. Obedience.
We arrived at a blue door. It was an odd contrast to this concrete maze. As I went through the doorway, I found myself in another typical gray Dema room. The only difference was who was waiting for me.
Four of them. Three of them were unknown to me, but one was clearly Keons. I knew his voice
They proposed an idea. A television show - or whatever it was. I had no idea that I was known outside of my cell, but they informed me that I had garnered notoriety for my schemes and outbursts. They wanted to use my face for the benefit of the city. They handed me a pen - a familiar instrument. Yet, they must be present when I use it. They wanted to manage my imagination and vision. Although shackled, at least I could create again.
Thus began the sessions.
Everyday my cell door would open. I followed the guard down the familiar hall, through the blue door, to sit down at the desk and chair. My designated creative space - perfectly centered under their watchful eye. Sometimes three, sometimes eight - not once were all nine present. He was never there. I would have felt it if he was.
At the end of the session, Keons would take my pen, gather my writings, and send me back. This went on for months.
What were we creating? I wasn’t sure. A variety show with songs and set pieces? Were the rulers of this stifled city actually attempting entertainment for its people? Everything I created had to be “for the benefit of the citizens of Dema” a phrase I heard often. I didn’t question them - I was happy to be out of my cell - and putting words to paper.
On the final day, I wrote the last line, I was asked to name it? The question caught me off guard. This seemed like a decision they would make.
Show Day: They dressed me up and asked me to smile a poor attempt at hiding my sleep deprivation. It was all so colorful, as if compensating for the grayness of the city.
It was a blur. Before I knew it, it was over, and I was back in my cell. I can only remember fragments - only blurred hallucinations of color and chaos - like a dream. The confusion of it all hangs overhead. What was it all for?
… but it wasn’t over
I guess it went well enough for them to request more of me. I was useful to Dema, and my creativity was exploited in new forms - They wanted me to be the entertainment at the Annual Assemblage of the Glorified - a performance at sea for the premiere citizens of Dema.
I knew those weren’t the real bishops on that ship.
I’ll quicken the entry - I need to keep up with the Torchbearer.
During the performance, we were attacked by something in the water. I don’t know what possessed the creature to attack, but it was odd, and felt incredibly intentional. Many lost their lives in the attack, and I was thrashed through the bitter cold waves, yet somehow survived. Did this icy cold preserve me? Why was I spared? I am still so cold as I write.
This place feels foreign - nothing like Trench. From the frigid sea, the air here is somehow colder than the water that surrounds it. I have a strange feeling that this island will provide answers.
I must go.

A lifeless light surrounds us each night. Never could I imagine that something so luminous could feel so dark. It’s this glow that reminds us of the dreamless existence we’ve been sentenced to. But what I call a sentence, others accept as normalcy. How did they so efficiently eradicate the dreams within us? When the bishops instituted Vialism as mandate, they effectively reversed the hope that many arrived with.
Am I the only one who realizes that we’ve been lied to? Am I the only one not afraid of the notion that the nine have hijacked our trust, and extinguished the hope that once motivated our existence? We used to close our eyes and picture a better life, now this city is full of dry eyes caught in a trance of obedience, devoid of any trace of an identity. The only significant light I’ve seen has been in the eyes of those smeared - such a curious sight, to see bright eyes strangled by the darkness of bishop hands. As their penance fades, so dims their memory of something more. My hope of something more is all I have in this rigid tomb, and I will not let it die.

I can’t believe what I just saw. I'm still trying to understand. This whole time I was sure I was all alone - a single soul in this vast unknown world. But a few days into this trek, I looked down to see a figure headed the same way I was. I’ve tucked myself in these caves and crevices, trying my best to keep hidden, but he was out in the open, making his exhausted journey right down the middle of Trench. I was curious enough to follow alongside the path with him. He seemed unaffected by the fear of the unknown - the fear that tends to cripple me. To him, the terrain seemed familiar, as if he had been out here before.
While lost in my curiosity, they appeared. I had heard about them back in Dema, but to my knowledge, the stories were merely myth. Ten, twenty, and then what seemed to be a hundred Banditos appeared upon the cliff, all looking down at him. He only stopped for a moment to look back up at them, and then continued on his way. His energy changed, and I wasn’t sure if he was frightened or encouraged by their ominous presence.
They warned him of what was about to come.
It was a blur. First seeing the figure, then the Banditos, only to now have my eyes opened to the oncoming Bishop upon a white horse drawing closer in the distance.
The figure halted, and waited. When the Bishop stopped, I was sure he looked up, directly at me, so I hid deeper back in a cave. The presence of the robed rider seemed to paralyze the man. He stood still as he was approached, powerless as the outstretched hands smeared his neck. I had never seen a Bishop possess power like this. Keons had always seemed gentle and warm - this Bishop, at least out here, seemed like something else.
So I ran, and I’ve been running for as long as my legs and lungs can handle. Maybe this note will be my proof that what I witnessed was not a dream. A million questions race through my brain. Am I not the only one traveling through Trench?
I’ll travel a little further, and maybe I’ll get a moment of rest tonight. I may have made a mistake, leaving. This spot, between two places, is beginning to feel like an endless and hopeless abyss. At least Dema is a place that I know, and at times like this, I miss a lot about what I know. This will all be much tougher than I imagined. Nothing out here is familiar. I’ve witnessed the presence of others for the first time today, and I feel more alone than ever. Cover me.

These campfires feel like home, as I stare deeply into them, finding more and more clarity. They tried to tell us we were different. But the flame that burns inside of me is the same fire I've found on the hilltops of Trench. The Banditos have lived their rebellion, and a resistance is growing inside the concrete walls - one powerful enough to burn out all of the stale teachings, and usher in true hope and a path to actual life. We march in the morning. The revolution shall arrive with the sun.

Akon gave a detailed account of the events surrounding the leak during an appearance on Tavis Smiley’s PBS television show in January 2009:
“Me and Mike did this incredible record called Hold My Hand and the record is amazing. Phenomenal. And the concept was that this would be Mike’s first release off of his new album, and then I would stripe it on my album – on my following release. That way we could have the outlets open for everyone to be able to receive the record. You know, Mike came up with this brilliant marketing launch for the record. You know, he’s the best at launching a record.”
Akon continues:
“He’d have the whole world paying attention in two minutes… And before we could get to that point, the record got leaked over the internet. And we got over 15 million downloads on the song for free. So we couldn’t [release it]. You can’t at that point. Everybody already has the record. But in a way, you gotta look at it like… that’s just a gift to the fans.”

2024.06.01 12:52 Dreadnautilus Leagues of Votann lore: The Legacy Vaults

So promotional copies of Kill Team Termination have been sent out, and so I've done some squinting at youtube review videos to see what new lore for the Leagues of Votann is. There isn't really much new stuff as I would've hoped; most of it is just further elaboration on things we already know, like how they hunt Tyranid hive fleets for the resources they consumed on planets or how the Hernkyn act as the scouts for the Leagues. I'll just cut to the chase and make this post about the primary new thing added to the Leagues of Votann lore.
Upon their death, each Kin has their minds uploaded to their League's Votann in order that their knowledge may live on beyond them. Dying without having this opportunity is seen as the worst possible fate, to the point where the Leagues' legal system's greatest punishment is exile, as the threat of not being allowed to return to the Votann is enough to terrify any would-be criminal Kin into compliance. As such, the Hernkyn, who have to go on missions without the support of the rest of the Kin and with high risks that their bodies are never recovered, are seen as the bravest and most selfless of their kind.
Legacy Vaults exist as an answer to this problem. These devices essentially allow a group of Kin to create a back up of their minds, so that if the Vault is ever found its contents can be uploaded into the Votann. They are made of the strongest superalloys and wrapped in the most powerful forcefields, making them almost indestructible. There's even legends of Legacy Vaults being found inside stars. In addition, to avoid being discovered by outsiders, they do not emit any kind of distress signal, but instead reflect signals emitted by League ships, ensuring only the Kin are able to find them.
Of course, like any incredibly useful piece of technology in 40k, they're incredibly rare. The Leagues still know how to make them because they're not frauds like the Adeptus Mechanicus, but they're so difficult to make that a single Prospect (expeditionary fleet) may have only a handful of Legacy Vaults, if any at all. In addition, they have a limited storage capacity, so its not like you can back up your entire army's minds before a battle. Instead, what they're mainly used for is to back up the minds of Hernkyn just before they go on dangerous missions.
The plot of Termination deals with a Trans-Hyperian Alliance scout ship called Vektronn's Eye (is that a Mitchell and Webb reference?) that gets shot down over Bheta-Decima, which is just starting to deal with a Genestealer uprising. The surviving Hernkyn know that its incredibly unlikely that they're getting off this planet alive, so their main goal is to find the Legacy Vault so at least their minds can be returned to the Votann. Apparently the Legacy Vault got damaged and they have to basically jury-rig some Imperial generators in order to power it, which is a bit odd given the whole "they're indestructable" hype given earlier in the book. I mean, surviving having your ship shot down and only needing your batteries to be recharged is impressive, I guess, but its no "found in the center of a sun". I suppose its no different from "Terminator armour can survive being stepped on by a Titan also here's them getting torn to shreds by Genestealers".

2024.06.01 12:46 ItzAlphaWolf [Discussion] Furry Worries - Week 368

Hey furries, u/The-Woop hasn't made one of these in a little bit. I've always liked these posts so I thought that I'd help him out again by taking over until he gets back.
Happy pride month everyone!
Users have sometimes stated that it is difficult to express their sorrows or misfortunes on this sub because they do not want to feel burdensome or unwelcome in what is normally a very happy-go-lucky environment. And so, this thread is to encourage furs to open up with their issues, not only on here but on the sub as a whole. If grief has been on your mind or something has been bothering you as of late, big or small, please leave a comment for myself and others to see if we can be of any help, or at least lend a sympathetic ear.
Alternatively, if you feel pretty nice about yourself today, don't be afraid to browse any existing comments and see if you can make somebody's day a little better. Maybe you have experience with what that person might be dealing with. Or perhaps you just want to let them know that they have a person to talk to. However, there are the principles that should be considered:
1:If you are responding to a comment do your best to be as thorough and insightful as possible. Do not just comment and forget about the other person afterward. While little pick-me-ups can help, do your best to be there for the other person. Encourage discussion and do not be afraid to have more in depth conversations. The comment section is always fine, but if either of you feel that you must talk in a more private setting, do not be afraid to use something such as PM, or a different instant messaging service.
2: I am aware that unfortunately, misfortune does not have a curfew. This thread is not in any way meant to contain negative emotion on the sub, but is meant to be a convenient place for others to open up and find somebody to talk to. If you experience strife at any other time during the week, do not feel like you must wait until Saturday to state it. Please feel free to make your own post.
3:This thread is not meant to replace professional help. If you feel that you could have depression or any other similar psychological condition, you are still invited to post, but it is highly recommended that you seek a form of professional help as well as look into the resources below.
4: Suffering is not a competition. Do not feel like your issues are too slight, or insignificant to post. You are invited to express your problems no matter their scale. Your sadness is just as valid as any others.
5:If you are not looking for advice and would just like to receive emotional support or simply get something off of your chest, you are more than welcome to state so. After all, a shoulder to lean can be a great remedy.
Last but certainly not least, here are a list of resources that anyone can contact. Please do not hesitate to use them if you feel the need. It is better to call and it not be worth it, than to not call and forgo the help you deserve.

iPad. Later in the game, approaching the enemy's city.
Hi all!
I just released Warzone of Destiny 95, a new quick and casual turn-based strategy game with retro graphics about exploring the map, collecting resources, finding hidden special units, building an army, and defeating the enemy.
Play against an AI opponent on procedurally generated maps. Explore the map and capture villages to generate revenue that you can use to build buildings and units in your city. Across the map you can also find hidden special units, such as the God of Thunder, a Samurai Clan or a gang of Militant Vegans. March your army against the enemy and raze their city to win the game!
A game typically takes around 10 minutes to complete depending on the map size and the generated geography. Supports Game Center leaderboards.
$1.99 on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/warzone-of-destiny-95/id6499425916

2024.06.01 12:17 Honeysyedseo Turning Underserved Niches into $10M Internet Businesses in 2024

Someone will make $10M in 2024 with this exact playbook building cash-flowing internet businesses.
The playbook they'll use (save this):

Find underserved niche

I use tools like Etsyhunt, Google Trends, TikTok Creative Center, Redditlist, etc to do that. These spy tools are critical intel.
This is the find your "that's too small of a niche" phase.

Build audience and community to drive growth

Design a content engine so good it's your pride and joy.
This is the "put billboards on the internet" phase.

Build a product

SaaS, software, agency, paid community, newsletter etc with a beautiful brand.
The impact of design is serious. I use Dispatch Design for my new ideas.
This is the "put buy buttons on the internet phase".

Use AI agents and global workforce to fulfil product

AI agents or "artificial employees" as I call them aren't prime time yet.
But they'll be able to.
This is the operational excellence phase.

Hire operator and find start with step 1 again

Hire from within your community ideally.
They'll get your niche better than an outsider.
This is the "scale me out of a job please" phase.
Usually, your business needs to be doing $100k+ profit per year to hire yourself out.
Most people do all 5 steps at once.
Being very careful to do one at a time is the key.
250,000+ people were laid off in 2023.
Anyone can build one of these businesses as a side project.
I started my holding company as a side project 3+ years ago.
Now, we run 6 companies and I turned down multiple 8 figures offers to buy my holdco.
In 2024, we'll do mid 7 figures of profit.
This is multipreneurship.
Multiple teams, multiple operators, multiple P&Ls.
The future of entrepreneurship is multipreneurship.
Save these 5 steps so you have them when you need it.
Sharing this playbook in case it's helpful to someone.
Enjoy!
If this post fired you up, you'll want more of this.

2024.06.01 12:15 CareBear-Killer 2018 Charger speaker swap

Hey everyone! It's been a loooong time since I've messed with car audio. I know car audio has changed over the years since I've swapped head units and I stalled subs. In those days, stock speakers weren't much better than paper cups attached by string. Having said that, I've got a 2018 charger with the 6 speaker alpine amp.
I know the speakers are..ehm.. serviceable, but I've got the itch for some slightly better bass and more clarity on the mids and highs. I'd like to not mess with an amp at the moment, so I'm thinking of doing 6x9s in the doors and back deck, plus 3.5" speakers in the dash. I was looking at the JBL Club 964M speakers. Has anyone heard these? I've heard the JBL loud speakers before, so I'm hoping the car speakers have a similar sound signature. Doesn't seem to be as many car speakers reviews these days. These days, does that setup even make sense or is that overkill for the 276w amp?
Additional question, for the wiring. I know you can attach multiple speakers in the same channel with the negative of one connecting to the positive of the other and the other connections back to the amp/stereo/etc. Can you do that across channels with these newfangled car amps? I can't find anything about bridging channels with this system. Back in the day, it was super easy to find bridging options for amps, but they weren't part of the proprietary factory system.
I was thinking of doing 1 of 2 things... Adding a 3rd speaker to the center of the dash or bridging the dash speaker with the door speaker on the respective sides. Not wanting to do both as I'm sure that'd be too much for the system. I'm thinking about doing the doors and dash speakers, since the alpine amp splits the signal and there is not much in the way of 6x9 woofers nor many component systems with 3.5" speakers as part of the package. Not the end of the world either way, just looking to get full sound range everywhere. I'd prefer to not bother with an amp and sub and all that. I'm getting too old to run new speaker wire everywhere.
Thanks in advance and I look forward to your input.

I recently had the chance to try out the Wilson Combat Magazine Well Stainless Steel 1911 Magwell, and I have to say, it's been a game-changer in my shooting experience. The magnetic well is incredibly sturdy, and it's made entirely of stainless steel, ensuring its longevity.
One thing that really stood out to me is the enhanced magazine compatibility the magwell provides. No more fumbling around to get the right fit - this magwell seamlessly fits most magazine designs, making it a breeze to reload.
However, the installation process could be a bit tricky for beginners. It was a learning experience, but with the right tools and a bit of patience, I managed to get it working smoothly.
Overall, I'm really happy with the performance of the Wilson Combat Magazine Well Stainless Steel 1911 Magwell. The improved magazine loading speed and enhanced compatibility make it a worthwhile investment for any serious shooter.

I recently added the Canik TCS Compact Magwell Black to my 1911 handgun, and let me tell you, it has made a significant difference in my daily shooting experience. The sleek, black design not only looks impressive but also provides excellent grip and support while I'm on the range. The ergonomic shape of the extension makes it an absolute game-changer during long shooting sessions, preventing hand fatigue and ensuring a more comfortable hold.
However, the TCS Compact Magwell Black isn't without its drawbacks. I've noticed that the weight distribution of the handgun has shifted slightly, making it a bit heavier overall. Additionally, the black color tends to attract dirt and dust more easily than other materials, requiring more frequent cleaning.
All in all, the Canik TCS Compact Magwell Black is a high-quality extension that enhances both the aesthetics and functionality of my 1911 firearm. Despite the added weight and maintenance considerations, I would definitely recommend it as a worthwhile addition to any 1911 enthusiast's collection.

🔗Si STRIKE80 Magwell for Strike 80 Compact Frame Kit

https://preview.redd.it/0224z5ynpx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2887ababacd1dc1e5cd03ba6e812fed7f0b8b0eb
In my quest for the perfect magwell, I stumbled upon the Si STRIKE80 Magwell. With a sleek finish in black, it added an aesthetic charm to my Strike 80 compact frame kit. The fit was impeccable, with the magwell allowing my PMAGs to nestle flush against it, making the gun feel more refined.
However, not everything was smooth sailing. On a few occasions, I faced issues with the magwell. Sometimes, I found it hard to seat the base plates of factory mags securely. It seemed like the magwell's design could have been more compatible with the base plates, resulting in a suboptimal user experience.
Despite this, the Si STRIKE80 Magwell had some redeeming qualities. For one, it was a reliable magwell that didn't affect the functionality of the gun. Furthermore, it added a certain cool factor that matched well with the Strike 80's compact frame style.
Overall, this magwell did its job when it came to accommodating the mag. However, the slight inconsistencies in its compatibility with base plates warranted some consideration. If you can overlook this issue, the Si STRIKE80 Magwell might just be the piece missing from your Strike 80 setup.

I've been using the Wilson Bullet Proof Magwell Full SS for a while now, and I must say that it's quite impressive. This one-piece magwell is crafted from solid billet and CNC-Machined, making it durable and robust. Its stainless steel finish adds a touch of class to any 1911 pistol.
What I really love about this magwell is its large internal opening. It ensures a smooth reloading process, making it perfect for competition or carry. The low profile, radiused outside contour is ideal for both. However, it does require some fitting to blend with pre-beveled frames.
The variety of grip shapes available, along with precisely machined checkering, allows for a perfect match with your pistol. It's also compatible with most fine custom handguns. The flat mainspring model drops into most guns, while round butt models need frame contouring.
Overall, despite the need for some fitting, the Wilson Bullet Proof Magwell Full SS is a top-quality product that enhances the functionality of your 1911. It's definitely a worthwhile investment for those looking to improve their pistol's performance.

Recently I added the Reptilia Black Hole Poly Magwell to my trusty GLOCK - a game-changer for my reloading skills. It fits seamlessly with both Generation 3 and 4 frames, a true all-arounder.
One of the standout features is the use of impact-modified reinforced nylon, and of course, it's made in the USA. It's compatible with 9mm and. 40-caliber GLOCK pistols but does not work with 10 round factory Glock magazines; however, it's perfect with Magpul 10 round mags. This magwell has made a notable difference in my shooting experience and I find myself reaching for it whenever I grab my GLOCK.
It's been a reliable addition to my kit and highly recommended for GLOCK owners.

I recently got my hands on the Magwell for SCT19 Polymer Glock Gen 3 Frame. As a gun enthusiast, I was intrigued by this accessory and decided to put it to the test in my daily life. The first thing that caught my eye was its sleek, outdoor green finish. It complemented my Glock perfectly and added a touch of class to my firearm.
Using this Magwell, I noticed a significant improvement in the speed of my reloads. The ergonomic design allowed for a smoother movement, saving me precious seconds in critical situations. However, I did encounter a slight snag in the process – the Magwell wasn't quite compatible with my specific model, causing a minor inconvenience.
Overall, the Magwell for SCT19 Polymer Glock Gen 3 Frame proved to be a reliable addition to my firearm. The speedy reloads it provided and the stylish finish it came with made it a worthwhile investment. But, I would urge fellow Glock users to double-check the compatibility before making a purchase to avoid any potential issues.

🔗Zev Technologies PRO Mag-well for 1911 - Enhance Shooting Consistency and Speed

Zev Magwell Pro has been a game-changer for me in my daily gun training. I love the flared, slightly wider design which aids in a smoother, faster magazine insertion. The lightweight aluminum construction feels sturdy and reliable, yet doesn't add any bulk to the Glock's balance.
Installation was straightforward, even for a gun novice like me. The lack of set screws for a flush fit on the backstrap is a minor drawback, but it's not a deal-breaker. The improved reload speed and additional comfort it provides make it worth the small inconvenience. I highly recommend the Zev Magwell Pro to anyone looking to elevate their Glock's performance.

Buyer's Guide

When it comes to optimizing your 1911 handgun, there are a few key features you should be on the lookout for in a magwell. The magwell, or magazine well, is a modification that increases the speed at which you can reload your gun. It also makes it easier to grip and insert the magazine, crucial in high-pressure situations. In this buyer's guide, we will discuss important considerations and general advice when purchasing a 1911 magwell.

Importance of Material

https://preview.redd.it/pzvp0pbrpx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f1b63274990f88c7ff8681a3a3e33343aa5ee166
The magwell is often made from lightweight materials such as aluminum or carbon fiber, but it can also be made from steel. While steel may be more durable, it is heavier and could potentially slow down your draw. Consider the weight and the balance of your handgun when choosing the material for your magwell.

Size and Shape

One of the primary benefits of a magwell is the ease of magazine insertion and retrieval. Therefore, the size and shape of the magwell will impact its efficiency. Some magwells are designed to be larger, accommodating longer magazines or allowing for a quicker reload. Ensure that the magwell you're considering complements the height of your magazine and matches your personal preferred shape for grip comfort.

Choke Ports

Choke ports or adjustable choke tubes are sometimes integrated with magwells as part of a multi-functional kit. Choke ports provide the ability to alter the angle and tightness of your shotgun barrel, which can be advantageous for various shooting scenarios. Consider if you want these additional features or if you prefer a magwell strictly for the purpose of speeding up your reload time.

Integration

Avoid magwells that require extensive modifications or replacement of existing parts of your handgun to mount. The magwell should ideally be compatible with most standard 1911 frames and be easy to install. Check the manufacturer's specifications or consult user guides to ensure compatibility.

Price

There are various price points for 1911 magwells, reflecting differences in materials, functionality, and design. Consider your budget and ensure that the magwell you choose aligns with your expectations and requirements.

Reviews and Ratings

As with any purchased, it's always a good idea to read reviews and gather insights on the quality of a 1911 magwell before making your decision. Reviews from gun enthusiasts and experts can provide valuable feedback on the durability, efficiency, and overall performance of the magwell.

Final Thoughts

A well-designed 1911 magwell can significantly improve the performance and efficiency of your handgun, especially in high-pressure or competitive shooting scenarios. When selecting a magwell, bear in mind the material, size and shape, integration, price, and reviews. With the right magwell, you can elevate your handgun to an optimal level for competitive performance or personal defense. Happy shooting!

2024.06.01 12:02 Normodox A Slush Fund for Radical Protesters?

The profusion of identical green tents at this spring’s anti-Israel protests struck many as odd. “Why is everybody’s tent the same?,” asked New York mayor Eric Adams. Like others, the mayor suspected “a well-concerted organizing effort” driving the protests. More recent reporting shows a concerted push behind the Gaza protest movement. But it is not as simple as a single organization secretly rallying protesters or buying tents. Instead, the movement’s most determined activists represent a network of loosely linked far-left groups. Some are openly affiliated with well-known progressive nonprofits; others work in the shadows.
The movement also draws on diverse but generous sources of financial backing. Those funding streams may soon be augmented by the federal government. As I chronicled last year in a Manhattan Institute report, “The Big Squeeze: How Biden’s Environmental Justice Agenda Hurts the Economy and the Environment,” the administration’s massive program of environmental justice grants seems designed to prioritize the funding of highly ideological local groups. The Inflation Reduction Act, for example, earmarks $3 billion for “environmental and climate justice block grants” intended for local nonprofits. Today, hundreds of far-left political groups include language about environmental issues and “climate justice” in their mission statements. If just a fraction of planned grants flows to such groups, the effect will be a gusher of new funding for radical causes.
As the Gaza protests spread across U.S. college campuses, many observers noted an eerie uniformity among them. From one campus to the next, protesters operated in disciplined cadres, keeping their faces covered and using identical rote phrases as they refused to talk with reporters. The Atlantic noted the strangeness of seeing elite college students “chanting like automatons.” Students held up keffiyeh scarves or umbrellas to block the view of prying cameras and linked arms to halt the movements of outsiders. At Columbia University and elsewhere, protesters formed “liberated zones,” from which “Zionists” were excluded. Around the edges of the encampments, the more militaristic activists donned helmets and goggles and carried crude weapons, apparently eager to mix it up with police or counter-protesters. We’ve seen these tactics before—notably during the “mostly peaceful” Black Lives Matter protests of 2020, when full-time agitators helped ignite riots, set up a police-free (and violence-plagued) zone in Seattle, and laid nightly siege to Portland, Oregon’s federal courthouse.
In a remarkable work of reporting, Park MacDougald recently traced the tangled roots of organizations backing pro-jihad protests, both on and off campuses. These include Antifa and other networks of anonymous anarchists, along with “various communist and Marxist-Leninist groups, including the Maoist Revolutionary Communist Party, the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), and the International ANSWER coalition,” MacDougald writes. Higher up the food chain, we find groups openly supported by America’s growing class of super-rich tech execs or the anti-capitalist heirs of great fortunes. For example, retired tech mogul Neville Roy Singham, who is married to Code Pink founder Jodie Evans, funds The People’s Forum, a lavish Manhattan resource center for far-left groups. As the Columbia protests intensified, the center urged members to head uptown to “support our students.” Following the money trail of other protest groups, MacDougald finds connections to the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the Ford Foundation, and—surprising no one—the George Soros-backed Tides Foundation.
Of course, the current wave of anti-Israel protests also involves alliances with pro-Hamas organizations such as Students for Justice in Palestine. Last November, Jonathan Schanzer of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies testified to the House Ways and Means Committee that SJP and similar groups have deep ties to global terrorist organizations, including Hamas.
For many keffiyeh-wearing protestors, however, a recently professed concern for Palestinians is just the latest in a long list of causes they believe justify taking over streets and college quads. In Unherd, Mary Harrington dubs this medley of political beliefs the “omnicause,” writing that “all contemporary radical causes seem somehow to have been absorbed into one.” Today’s leftist activists share an interlocking worldview that sees racism, income inequality, trans intolerance, climate change, alleged police violence, and Israeli-Palestinian conflicts all as products of capitalism and “colonialism.” Therefore, the stated rationale for any individual protest is a stand-in for the real battle: attacking Western society and its institutions.
In the U.S., this type of general-purpose uprising goes back at least to the riots at the 1999 meeting of the World Trade Organization in Seattle. In those protests, mainstream liberal factions—including labor unions and environmentalists—were joined by “black bloc” anarchists and other radicals eager to engage in “direct action” against police. That pattern—relatively moderate demonstrators providing a friendly envelope for hard-core disruptors—formed the template for many later protests: the Occupy Wall Street encampments in 2011, demonstrations following the police shooting of Michael Brown in 2014, 2016’s Standing Rock anti-pipeline movement, and of course, the calamitous summer of 2020.
These uprisings were not entirely spontaneous. In some cases, activists spend months planning mass actions—for example, against economic summits or political conventions—and can recruit street fighters from across the country. In others, an event, such as George Floyd’s death, sparks popular protests involving neophyte demonstrators. Those attract far-left activists, who swoop in to organize and expand the struggle, often tilting it toward more radical action.
That has certainly been the case at the college Gaza-paloozas. At Columbia, the New York Times spotted a woman old enough to be a student’s grandmother in the thick of the action as protesters barricaded that school’s Hamilton Hall. The woman was 63-year-old Lisa Fithian, a lifetime activist, who Portland’s alternative weekly Street Roots approvingly calls “a trainer of mass rebellion.” A counter-protester trying to block the pro-Hamas demonstrators told NBC News, “She was right in the middle of it, instructing them how to better set up the barriers.” Fithian told the Times she’d been invited to train students in protest safety and “general logistics.” She claims to have taken part in almost every major U.S. protest movement going back to the 1999 “Battle in Seattle.”
America’s radical network has plenty of Lisa Fithians, with the time and resources to travel the country educating newcomers about the “logistics” of disruptive protests. And these activists appear to have played key roles in the college occupations. The New York City Police Department says nearly half the demonstrators arrested on the Columbia and City University of New York (CUNY) campuses on April 30 were not affiliated with the schools. One hooded Hamilton Hall occupier—photographed scuffling with a Columbia custodian before getting arrested—turned out to be 40-year-old James Carlson, heir to a large advertising fortune. According to the New York Post, Carlson lives in a $2.3 million Park Slope townhouse and has a long rap sheet. For example, in 2005, he was arrested in San Francisco during the violent “West Coast Anti-Capitalist Mobilization and March Against the G8.” (Those charges were dropped.)
For a quarter-century now, Antifa and other anarchist networks have worked to refine tactics and share lessons following each major action. At Columbia, UCLA, and other schools, authorities found printouts of a “Do-It Yourself Occupation Guide” and similar documents. The young campus radicals are eager to learn from their more experienced elders. And, like the high-achieving students they are, they follow directions carefully. MacDougald asked Kyle Shideler, the director for homeland security and counterterrorism at the Center for Security Policy, about the mystery of the identical tents. There was no need for a central group to distribute hundreds of tents, Shideler said. Instead, “the organizers told [students] to buy a tent, and sent around a Google Doc with a link to that specific tent on Amazon. So they all went out and bought the same tent.”
In other words, America’s radical class has gotten very skilled at recruiting and instructing new activists—even from among the ranks of elite college students with a good deal to lose. How much more could this movement accomplish with hundreds of millions in federal dollars flooding activist groups around the country?
From its first week in office, the Biden administration has trumpeted its goal to funnel more environmental spending toward “disadvantaged communities that have been historically marginalized,” partly by issuing grants to grassroots organizations. Previous environmental justice (EJ) grant programs were small in scope. But, with the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) in August 2022, a huge pool of grant money became available. EPA administrator Michael Regan told reporters, “We’re going from tens of thousands of dollars to developing and designing a program that will distribute billions.”
More than a year and a half later, it remains hard to nail down just where the Biden administration’s billions in EJ grants will wind up. Money is being distributed through a confusing variety of programs, and the process of identifying recipients is ongoing. To help outsource the job of sifting through proposals, the EPA last year designated 11 institutions as “Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmakers.” These groups are empowered to make subgrants directly to community organizations, under streamlined EPA oversight. In all, the Biden administration has entrusted these outfits with distributing a staggering $600 million in funding. The money is expected to start flowing this summer.
The EPA’s grantmakers include a number of educational institutions and left-leaning nonprofits. For example, the EPA chose Fordham University as its lead grantmaker in the New York region. Fordham, in turn, lists as partners two nonprofits that oppose immigration enforcement. (One, the New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice, states on its website: “NJAIJ believes in the human right to migrate, regardless of citizenship or political status.”) Neither group claims expertise in environmental issues. Given that the IRA’s eligibility requirements for EJ grants are extremely vague, however, perhaps that’s not a problem. Almost any activity that could help “spur economic opportunity for disadvantaged communities” (in the words of Biden’s EJ executive order) might qualify.
Perhaps the most prominent—and problematic—EPA grantmaker is the Berkeley, California-based Climate Justice Alliance. The CJA is a consortium of mostly far-left activist groups. It describes its mission as working for “regenerative economic solutions and ecological justice—under a framework that challenges capitalism and both white supremacy and hetero-patriarchy.” The group is a vigorous proponent of the omnicause, embracing almost every left-wing concern as a manifestation of climate change. For example, the CJA website proclaims: “The path to climate justice travels through a free Palestine.” MacDougald notes that the Grassroots Global Justice Alliance, one of CJA’s affiliated groups, “organized an illegal anti-Israel protest in the Capitol Rotunda in December at which more than 50 activists were arrested.”
The CJA website also includes a section dedicated to the cause known as Stop Cop City. It refers to an effort to halt the construction of an 85-acre police and firefighter training center outside Atlanta. Rag-tag activists from around the country have gathered around the facility since 2021. They have repeatedly battled with police—sometimes with fireworks and Molotov cocktails—and used bolt cutters to enter the site and torch construction equipment. (CJA’s Stop Cop City page features a cartoon illustration of three childlike activists; one brandishes bolt cutters.) The group also backs a legal defense fund for activists arrested in attacks on the training center or in other protests. For those looking for more inspiration, CJA links to an interview with former Black Panther and self-described revolutionary Angela Davis.
The Alliance is not an ideological outlier in Biden’s EJ coalition. On the contrary, when the White House assembled its White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council (WHEJAC), a panel of outside experts meant to provide “horizon-expanding EJ advice and recommendations,” it chose CJA co-chair Elizabeth Yeampierre to help lead the committee. Like other members of the panel, she sees environmental issues through an ideological, not a scientific, lens. “Climate change is the result of a legacy of extraction, of colonialism, of slavery,” Yeampierre told Yale Environment 360. As a group, radical EJ activists tend not to focus on pragmatic ways to reduce pollution and carbon emissions; for them, the real goal is overturning what they see as an exploitative economic and political system. Since these are the voices the White House chose to help shape its EJ policies, we can assume this worldview will dominate grantmaking decisions.
In February 2023, House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer, along with fellow committee member Pat Fallon, wrote to EPA administrator Regan asking for more information on the EPA’s grant programs. They noted that the EPA’s own studies of EJ grants issued in previous years showed sloppy supervision. According to an EPA report, an earlier version of the program funded projects that did “not logically lead to the desired environmental and/or public health [result].” Without better oversight and more clearly defined goals, the congressmen wrote, the EPA’s EJ grant machine risks becoming simply a “slush fund for far-left organizations.”
Since then, the administration has done little to reassure skeptics. To the contrary, the EPA has put at least one far-left organization—CJA—in charge of distributing $50 million in grant money. No doubt, many of the EPA grants will go to worthwhile projects. But money is fungible. A group that gets a large grant to, say, clean up dirty parks or teach children about recycling will also be able to hire more staff and divert more resources to political action.
With graduation behind them, most of the anti-Israel college protesters have stowed away their keffiyehs and moved on to summer vacations or internships. But the peripatetic activists who helped guide and intensify those uprisings are doubtless already planning their next actions. After all, two political conventions are looming. This fall, the college protests will likely flare up again, though by then perhaps focused on a different facet of the omnicause. And, with hundreds of millions in fresh funding flowing through the activist ecosystem, the groups that quietly nurture extremists—like those who firebombed “Cop City,” or who chant “Intifada Revolution!,” or who block bridges in the name of “climate”—will be more emboldened than ever.

One of the things that stood out to me was the 5-minute auto shut-off feature, ensuring that I didn't accidentally leave the laser sight on while not in use. As an avid hunter, I was elated when I stumbled upon the MKS Laser Kit. Eager to try it out, I grabbed my trusty 40/45 carbine and attached the laser sight to my Picatinny rail. The moment I powered it up, I felt a sense of exhilaration knowing it provided a 4mw laser beam that could reach up to 300 yards in pitch dark.
When I took it out on my next hunting expedition, I was pleasantly surprised by its weight, at just 3.8 oz, it didn't burden my carbine. Moreover, I appreciated the convenience of a lithium cell 3V battery that could last up to 20 hours. However, one drawback I did experience during the cold hunting nights was its tendency to drain the battery power faster when temperatures dropped.
In terms of durability, it held up well but the lens, being exposed to the elements, could use a protective casing. Despite this minor flaw, the MKS Laser Kit was a practical and fun addition to my hunting adventures, serving as a reliable guide for a clean kill.

One of my favorite aspects of this product is the durability. I've had it for a while now, and it still works like new. However, I've noticed that sometimes the laser can be difficult to see in bright sunlight, which can be a little frustrating.
Overall, I'd highly recommend the Viridian E Series Grn LSR Taurus GX4 to anyone in the market for a high-quality crossbow laser sight. It's a reliable and convenient product that has become an essential part of my daily routine.

This little guy seamlessly integrates with my HYBRID Series thermal weapon sights via USB-C, providing real-time range data and a firing solution on a custom drop-compensating reticle. It's like having a personal laser rangefinder and ballistic solver all in one compact, lightweight package.
One feature that stood out to me was the ease of use, even with gloves on. The Picatinny Quick-Detach Mount and simplified controls make it a breeze to operate, even in low-light conditions. Plus, the rugged 6061 aluminum construction ensures durability and waterproofing, so I can trust it to perform in any weather.
The only downside I've experienced so far is the need for a USB-C cable to power and data transfer, which can be a hassle when you're in the middle of a hunt. But overall, the InfiRay ILR-1000-2 LSR RF has significantly improved my accuracy and confidence when it comes to long-range shooting. Highly recommended for any serious hunter or shooter.

🔗David White Digital Laser Sight Theodolite for Precise Angle Measurement

The David White 5-Second Optical Sight Digital Theodolite with Laser Plummet has been a game changer for me when it comes to sighting and alignment. The laser beam built into the aperture makes for easy and accurate alignment, and the simple push button functions provide precise LCD digital readouts. I especially appreciate the incremental encoding detection system with dual digital displays and the automatic power shut-off feature.
However, one minor drawback I've experienced is that the coaxial tangent and clamp screws could use some improvement in terms of ease of use in sighting and alignment. The built-in battery pack is a great addition, but I wish the process of attaching and detaching it was a bit smoother. Despite these minor setbacks, the product's water-resistant, sealed construction has been a saving grace, ensuring that it can withstand various weather conditions. Overall, the David White 46-D8897 5-Sec. Laser Sight Digital Theodolite with Optical Plummet DT8-05LS has proven to be a reliable and efficient tool for sighting and alignment during my daily use.

Buyer's Guide

When considering a 1911 laser sight, there are several general features and considerations to take into account. These factors can help you make the best decision when selecting a model that suits your needs and preferences. Some of the key factors include brightness, style, durability, battery life, and mounting options.

Aesthetics and style are subjective, but some people may prefer one particular appearance over another. Choose a model that aligns with your preferences or the existing style of your 1911 handgun. Some laser sight options are designed to blend seamlessly with the handgun, while others may have more eye-catching designs.

Durability

A durable laser sight is essential for long-term use. Look for models that are constructed with high-quality materials, such as aircraft-grade aluminum or stainless steel. These materials can withstand wear and tear, making them more resistant to damage and corrosion.

Battery Life

Battery life is another important factor to consider, especially if you plan to use the laser sight extensively. Choose a model with a long battery life to minimize the need for frequent battery replacements. Some laser sights have rechargeable batteries, while others use disposable batteries.

Mounting Options

The mounting options of a 1911 laser sight are crucial for its compatibility with your handgun. Ensure that the mounting system you choose is compatible with your model of 1911. Common mounting options include dovetail, rear sight, and Picatinny rail. Consider the ease of installation and removal if you plan to switch between different mounting options.

2024.06.01 11:59 ganglyboyish Any actually good resources for allyship?

Hey y’all!
This is really long but I’m really struggling with what to do, and all of this is necessary to provide context. I checked out the trans allyship resources on this subreddit and didn’t find anything useful to this specific context. I really really need advice.
TW: transphobia
I (24tm) have a very close friend (32f) who is cisgender. I’ll call her A.
I was at a bar with A and someone came up to me and immediately tried to debate me and was saying really transphobic stuff and using the T slur. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and tried to explain to him that he was wrong but he kept talking over me. A didn’t say much during this conversation. I told him I was going to leave because he wasn’t listening, turned to walk out and A was a little behind me. He told her, “you know you guys can’t have babies, right?”
Yeah. Gross. So when talking about this after the fact, every time it was mentioned A belabored on how she wasn’t involved and she just can’t believe he said that to her. I just kind of thought this was annoying and let it go, until one night, when we were talking to her dad about this I said something about how that’s just what happens when you’re friends with trans people, you get caught in the crossfire. Later that night she explained to me that she wasn’t actually centering herself and it just made him more of an asshole that he said it to her, and I’m realizing now as I type this that the implication of that is that it would have been less bad if he had said it to me. I told her it’s annoying because she should have said something to him and defended me, and gotten involved to begin with. Her response was, verbatim, “I’m a cancer mars.” (For context, I believe in astrology and so does she. But. Really?) She then told me that he was being homophobic because I had said something to him about how I was gay and he thought I was a woman and that we were a couple, which is why he said that. I was like, nope, he was pretty explicitly being transphobic. And she then explained again how it wasn’t transphobia it was homophobia and doubled down that he thinks I’m a woman.
I got home to a text further explaining how she wasn’t centering herself by talking about that stuff, and I responded that I was actually bothered by her trying to tell me it was homophobic and not transphobic (she has never dated a woman and is married to a cis man). I also said something about how I didn’t have the emotional capacity for the argument because I was having some other issues with transphobia right before that (which she was aware of) that didn’t involve her. I think the words I said were about being surrounded by cis people. I also think I said something about how she always thinks she’s right. I know that’s not a great thing to say in conflict. But I did say that.
She started getting incredibly defensive around my language of saying cis people, and saying “oh what? I’m just like (insert other person I was in conflict with) now?” And telling me that her saying it was homophobia was just “her perception” and seemed to not understand why that was wrong. She also said I was “fucking on one recently” in regards to marginalization. I backed down and apologized for the cis thing. Honestly I don’t remember too much else of the conflict other than we were arguing for quite a while, and it ended with her and I both apologizing. The next day I re read everything and texted her that I wasn’t happy with the argument. She said “yeah I’m not happy either.” I sent a paragraph about how I don’t know how to proceed and this could change how safe I feel around her, and how I don’t know what to do because she proved by getting defensive and doubling down that I can’t express things like this to her or expect her to defend me in any real capacity. a couple hours later sent me a long text, basically saying that I was (verbatim) “just trying to get my pound of flesh” because she had already apologized. Also some stuff about how I apparently had pointed out her privilege too many times recently (that’s probably true, I thought I was being funny though and didn’t realize I was being annoying) and essentially said that she “crossed a boundary (she) didn’t know existed” by trying to tell me it was homophobia and that some random stranger thought I was a woman. Honestly? I kind of just lost faith that she was going to be rational so I backed down.
That really bothered me for a while. I was going to email the bar to tell them about the transphobic guy, because he had a music show scheduled for the following week and I wanted them to drop him. She asked me at one point if I had sent the email, I said no and explained it was because the whole thing was too much for me, and she offered to send it. She wrote something, I added a couple things, she sent it, the bar dropped him. She sent this in her family group message that I’m in and everyone was congratulating her and saying they were proud of her. That was super triggering because after she was so explicitly transphobic to me I felt really annoyed at watching everyone eat her ass over sending an email. During this conversation, her kid (10nb) sent a voice memo “explaining the situation” and basically just recapped that someone was transphobic to me, and said that I was going to send the email but didn’t because I was “lazy” so their mom sent it. I texted A to say, hey, I probably want to have a conversation with your kid at some point about why they shouldn’t call marginalized people lazy when they don’t stick up for themselves. She explained that she didn’t know where they got that verbiage from. I told her that it wasn’t a big deal, reiterated multiple times (in very explicit wording) that they did nothing wrong, but I was frustrated because I had conflict with A which made me unable to deal with the transphobia and then her kid calls me lazy because of, essentially, what A did.
A texted me an hour or so later telling me that I was “putting my emotions on her to handle” and I “should pick my battles with more discernment” because I was “triggered from our conflict” that happened the previous week. She said I need to “process my emotions longer” before I come to her. She also listed off some things she was dealing with and said she was pissed off that she even had to be frustrated with me. It was a long conversation where I asked if she was okay because her extreme emotional reactions are out of character and she said she was okay. I ended up disingenuously backing down and apologizing and said I knew I was triggered and I explained exactly that, she basically said that I’m “not the only one the conflict was hard for” the implication I gathered is that I shouldn’t bring it up to her, I guess.
Tonight I was with her and someone got aggressive with me in the men’s room and I had to leave the bar twice to drive down the street to pee somewhere else. It wasn’t really about the way she handled that specifically but I don’t feel safe talking to her about any transphobia at all anymore, and there’s no way for me to express this and explain why she’s messing up basic allyship because I tried twice now already.
She’s my main support system, we’ve been tight for the last three years and I’ve known her my whole life. Her biological family is also a huge support system for me and I don’t want to cut any one of them off.
So here’s the question: what the actual fuck do I do? Does anyone have any books, or resources, or like good nuanced explanations of allyship stuff that I can send her? I can’t keep having these conversations because she says really personal attacks about me and honestly the way I’m perceiving her reactions are making it hard for me to take her seriously at all, in any context. I’m thinking if I send her a third party source she might feel less attacked and it will take the emotional labor off me because she can’t argue. Has anyone dealt with anything similar? Can anyone give me any advice?
Thanks.
Tl;dr my very close friend who is my main/only support system said something transphobic, doubled down, and had continued to disrespect me and lodge personal attacks against me when I try to bring it up. Any resources for that?

Weekly Winning Strategies: Competitive Intelligence Objectives For Businesses Like Yours
Competitive intelligence isn’t about amassing mountains of competitor data. Or having access to the best CI platform. It’s about gathering targeted, actionable insights that empower you to make winning decisions. It’s about competitive intelligence objectives for enterprises like yours.
1. Define A Clear Objective
The core of effective competitive intelligence is a well-defined objective. You can’t try to gather all possible information about competitors. You must focus on specific, actionable insights addressing your strategic decisions. A clear objective streamlines intelligence efforts, making your work more precise and valuable.
Before diving into Google, you need to define your strategic goals. What critical decisions need to be made? How can competitive intelligence help inform these choices? Think about:
2. After Competitive Intelligence Objectives It’s Isolating Great Questions
Take the time to define great questions. Otherwise, you will end up with poor answers. The value of your competitive intelligence is proportional to question quality. Great questions guide your research. They ensure that you gather the most relevant and actionable insights. Not wasting your time on the obvious, easy-to-find stuff with little actionable insight. Ask:
3. Identify Relevant Competitors
Not all competitors are equal. After setting a clear objective, identify which competitors are most relevant to you. This prioritisation ensures your intelligence efforts are targeted and efficient. Ask your sales teams and customers what they think. Then, spend time researching to determine which competitors need deeper scrutiny. Ask yourself:
4. Integrate Intelligence With Business Operations And Planning
Competitive intelligence has to integrate into your operation and strategic planning. And no, we said strategic planning shouldn’t be done yearly. Just to support the annual report or the annual strategy sessions. Intelligence should inform and drive continuous business improvements and strategic adjustments.
Moving beyond static reports and embedding insights into all your decision-making processes. After all, if you don’t know what’s going on and what’s going to happen, why would you dare make important decisions?
See, it’s all about competitive intelligence Objectives, good questions and planning. And then keep looking. Basically, competitive intelligence and competitor analysis projects should never be a one-off.
5. Monitor And Adapt To Market Changes
So, competitive intelligence is not a one-time hit but an ongoing process. Watch the competitive landscape and adapt strategies to market changes. You will have more chance of remaining agile and responsive to threats and opportunities.
6. Confirm Strategic Decisions And Investments
Use competitive intelligence to validate your strategic decisions and investments. Understand where competitors invest resources and how they are positioning themselves.
-Then, you can benchmark your strategies and gain confidence in your own investment decisions. This external validation also checks against internal biases and assumptions. And you are infested by them. And experience blinds them to you. More questions to ask:
Competitive Intelligence Objectives For Businesses Of All Sizes
Focus on these key objectives.
To make competitive intelligence a powerful, useful tool.
To inform and transform your business strategy.
Ensuring you stay ahead in the competitive landscape.
Ensuring you have a competitive advantage over your competitors for years to come. It’s all about competitive intelligence Objectives, good questions and planning.

2024.06.01 11:39 Dutch_Yoda Writing a Book on the Galactic Civil War - Between Ep 3 and 4

Hello everyone. My name is Joe. I am an avid watcher and reader of all things Star Wars, from the Saga down to Bad Batch and the Acolyte. I have also read all of the Thrawn books, the original, the Disney reboot, and the Ascendancy trilogy; as well as Tarkin, Lord of the Siths, Dooku, and all of the High Republic books up to Eye of Darkness.
Now I am also an amateur writer, having done Roleplaying on Reddit and now on Discord before. Since a couple of weeks, I have been thinking about writing some stories about the Galactic Civil War, set around the time that Rebels or Andor are set. I am looking for some feedback, and perhaps some story ideas that will help me with finding what people would find interesting. I am currently working on two separate anthologies:
  1. Massassi Trilogy: focusing on the early Rebellion, and especially on the adventures of Jan Dodonna, Garven Dreis (Red Leader), "Dutch" Vander (Gold Leader) and the Massassi Cell members.
    • Hidden Fortress: set about 6-5 BBY, tells the story of how Dodonna and Blue, Red, and Gold Squadron found the base on Yavin IV and built it up as the main Rebel base. I currently have an idea about a fun mission that Garven and Antoc Merrick (Blue Leader) undertake, stealing a Star Destroyer Power Core and turbines from an Imperial Star Destroyer. Not entirely sure how to handle that one.
    • Red and Gold: set around 5-2 BBY, starting just after Aldhani, telling the stories of some of the missions undertaken by Garven and Dutch. Not entirely sure which stories to tell but I have an idea about a mission to Kashyyyk. Featuring Mon Mothma.
    • Defiance: set around 2 BBY, just after Mon Mothma declared open Rebellion. Telling the further stories of Red and Gold Squadrons as they now openly fight the Empire. Might feature Vader, as well as Leia.
  2. Joint Chiefs Series: focusing on the Empire fighting the early Rebellion. I have a book centered around one major member of the famous "Death Star conference" scene from Ep4:
    • Tagge: set around 9 BBY, focusing on Cassio Tagge, General of the Imperial Army, as he uncovers a conspiracy of growing Rebellion in the Outer Rim. Featuring both Vader and the Emperor, as well as other notables such as Motti, Tarkin, and Yularen.
    • Motti: set around 8 BBY, focusing on Conan Antonio Motti, Admiral of the Navy, carving out a conquest in the Outer Rim after a failed uprising. Featuring Vader and the Emperor, as well as Tagge, Ozzel, and Tarkin.
    • Yularen: set around 7 BBY, focusing on Wullf Yularen as he discovers a conspiracy to bomb the COMPNOR arcology. Featuring Vader and the Emperor, as well as Tarkin. I think it would work like a Spy novel, with Yularen acting as a detective.
    • Order and Justice: set around 5 BBY, just after Aldhani, focusing on Tagge and Motti as they need to reluctantly work together to fight a growing Rebellion. Featuring Vader and Tarkin. Title refers to Anakin's words on Mustafar,
    • Joint Chiefs: set around 2 BBY, just after the Declaration of Rebellion, focusing on Tagge, Motti, and Yularen as they all need to fight the Rebellion. Featuring Vader and Tarkin, as well as Ozzel and Veers.
So if you're interested in hearing what I have in mind for each of these, I would like to read your comments. Any advise on how the style and pacing of these should look like is appreciated.
Quick disclaimer: as of the moment, I really only have a clear outline and have started actually writing Massassi - Hidden Fortress and Tagge. The others are sort of more long-term wishes that would depend on how well the first novels turn out.

2024.06.01 11:35 Soulciety Looking For Someone Who Handed Out Illenium/Ghengar Lights At The Gorge!

Hi everyone!
I just had my first festival in the States at the Gorge for Illenium and it was an amazing time! With my favorite artist headlining, some of my favorite people by my side, and plenty of other wonderous people, I really can't complain. To everyone who was there and showing love, I appreciate you all and I hope you all enjoyed yourself and made some fantastic memories.
On day 2 (Sunday), just before Illenium went on stage (I think Two Friends was still playing), I was standing down at the stage floor near the center but further towards the back (near the VIP? railings). A kind stranger gave three of my friends and myself (two girls, two guys, all Asians) a necklace with a light that had Illenium or Ghengar's logo on them (they are so sick and is even USB-C chargeable!!). When I asked if I could trade my Ghengar one for an Illenium one, he told me to just keep it and to just pass the Ghengar one to someone else. That act of kindness really resonated with me and I'm still thinking about it now.
At the time, I was taking a second to collect myself and take a little breather and so I completely forgot to ask for his Instagram or some other form of contact and my only big regret of the night is not having a way to thank him after the night was over.
It's a shot in the dark, but I was hoping that maybe I could him here or find some sort of lead. Please DM me or leave a comment if this person is you or if you know who this is.
Here's a picture of the light: https://imgur.com/iAXpwx2
I hope this this is okay, thanks if you've read it this far!

UFC 302 goes down on Saturday from Newark, New Jersey and a huge lightweight championship bout sits atop the card. Champion Islam Makhachev continues his run to prove he's the best pound-for-pound fighter in the sport when he defends his title against fan-favorite Dustin Poirier.
Poirier is looking to finally add a world championship reign to his legendary career after failing in his previous two attempts to capture the lightweight title. Poirier did have a run as interim champion but the asterisk of never capturing a world title will forever remain a mark against him in debates on his place on lists of all-time great fighters.
Makhachev has shown dominance reminiscent of friend and trainer Khabib Nurmagomedov since suffering a shocking 2015 knockout loss. He is now riding a 13-fight winning streak and coming off back-to-back title defenses over fellow pound-for-pound elite Alexander Volkanovski.
In addition to that big main event, former middleweight champion Sean Strickland returns to action for the first time since losing the title when he faces former title contender Paulo Costa.
