I'm an older gamer. I won't say how old, but let's say my first multiplayer PC shooter was Quake 2. I work. I game to unwind.
I have been waiting for a good VR shooter since I was a kid reading about the metaverse in books like Snow Crash, Neuromancer, etc. I had played other shooters on Oculus (fuck you, Meta. I will never call it the Meta Quest) like Onward and Pop 1. They were fun, but felt lacking in one way or another. Enter Breachers. Reminiscent of R6, yet unique. I was blown away. I thought, "this is gonna be big." I told my friends about it. I thought (and still think) this could be the first big competitive shooter for VR and could really kickstart the industry which so many theorized would come to dominate the way we interact online.
However, it seems to me that Breachers is going through growing pains. I've watched as the community has grown, and have been delighted that the devs' hard work has paid off. The game is plagued by bugs. One week it's server issues, the next it's audio issues. I know how difficult it must be to maintain a codebase while keeping users happy, so I'm very patient in that regard.
What I can not stand is the toxic, often much younger, players I encounter every fucking time I play. Im no stranger to shit talking, or even vulgarity. I was around for the golden days of Xbox live. (A lot of dudes fucked my mom, apparently) What I can not stand is the racial slurs and high pitched SCREAMING into the mic. Or the kids who seem to be on too much (or not enough, whatever the case may be) Adderall. They completely ruin the experience. Once in a blue moon I will land in a lobby with mostly older players. It's awesome. There's a bit of shit talking, as is custom, but for the most part people are engaged and actively trying to cooperate to win. These iPad kids will poison this game and drive players like me (with, you know, jobs and money to spend) away. Permanently. I know there is a disclaimer that says VC is monitored, but it does not feel like there is enough enforcement.
I just want to be able to block someone. I don't want to queue into a lobby if they're in it. If I'm in a lobby, I want their connection to be refused. If this makes it so my matchmaking takes longer, so be it. What I think will happen is toxic players will naturally quarantine themselves as more and more people get tired of their shit. The only other possible solution I can think of is 18+ lobbies, but that would be incredibly hard to enforce. Just like Reddit uses upvotes and downvotes to crowdsource the filtering of content, we should be able to filter toxic people from the community. Reporting people feels like it does nothing.
Maybe I'm just too old for gaming. Which sucks to think about because I've had a controller in my hand for as long as I can remember. If that's the case, then so be it. But I suspect there are others out there who feel as I do and just want to enjoy the game with other people who want to work cooperatively.

What good are all those dev hours spent on new maps and updates if people do not play your game because of the toxic community? This game has so much potential. Don't squander it.

Me(17), my sister(28), and her kid(4), currently live with our mom and step-dad. My sister(let's call her Eden) actually moved back home after divorcing her kids father, and ever since, I've basically turned into a teen stay-at-home mom. I watch Edens kid almost everyday, usually between the hours of 11am-2am, so she can go to work/hang out with friends. I would feel better about this arrangement if I was paid for babysitting, instead Eden only offers to buy food and clothes, which I appreciate but don't want in replacement of cash. I know that sounds entitled, but my mom is the only one that actually has ever paid me for watching Edens kid, after for about 5 hours of babysitting I'm usually only paid 20-30 dollars since our mom is not doing well money wise right now.
Backstory aside, Eden has a friend (lets call them Riley) that is going to become homeless soon after they breaks up with their toxic partner, so Eden was kinda excited to bring up the idea of us all (me, Eden, her kid, and Riley) moving in together. I was happy about it, because who doesn't want to live in their "own" house as a teenager.

I've been doing some lower tier bounties, vlrts and lrts mostly, to try and get to grips with the new flight model. I was pretty discouraged at first, because it felt like my ship was so freakin' slow that I couldn't help but eat all of the enemies shots. But, after watching some guides, and getting more practice, I was starting to feel a lot better, and the new system was starting to grow on me. Tonight I saw an ERT pop and thought what the hell, I'll give it a shot and if I die, I was about to log off anyway, nbd.
The target was a redeemer, with a herc and connie as backup. Fortunatley, it felt like I was just fighting the redeemer for the most part, due to the other ships being slower. Unfortunately, that thing was so damn tanky that I didn't have a chance in hell of killing it in my little avenger titan. I put all 2000 rounds of my s4 revenant into it while hitting it with the s3 omniskys all the while. It took a little hull damage from the gatling but didn't even get the slightest dent it it's shields. I was fine because it didn't seem to be firing back with it's turrets for some reason, probably a bug or network issue. If it had I'm sure I would have been space dust by that point.
Which is totally fine - I would expect ERTs to be hard, and require you to bring a multicrew ship with some friends. What I couldn't believe is when I got back to the station, they wanted 47K aUEC to repair the slight bit of damage I took. That sounded completely crazy, I'm used to paying no more than a couple thousand. But I thought, maybe the economy has been rebalanced and the numbers are just higher now. That's when I decided to check that ERT mission, and realized that it would have paid... 25k. Twenty - five - k.
Circling back to the multicrew thing... how the HELL are we supposed to justify bringing friends along for missions, if they pay peanuts, AND expect us to split that between our crew, AND the repairs on a slightly damaged ship cost twice as much as the mission payout?! And a single seater at that, not even a multicrew ship!
AND on top of that, the prices of ships have increased across the board, so it was already going to be a much longer grind to get them. When CIG was talking about the changes they intended to make regarding mission rewards in this patch, I got the impression that they wanted to make most missions *more* worthwhile, not less. But what they have done here is just... insulting.
I WANT this to be a "grindy" game, eventually. I want to be able to spend years and years playing this game, slowly building up my wealth and reputation. But we are talking about an alpha here, one where any progress made is just going to get reset anyway. One where earning money often takes twice as long as you would expect anyway, because of bugs and issues getting in your way.
Now, I can already imagine what people more cynical than me are going to say: they don't want it to be reasonable to earn ships in game, because they want people to keep pledging for ships. I don't believe that, I don't think that they had any ill intentions behind these changes, I know they want the game to be good just as much as we do. But CIG, please, you owe everything to your backers, the least you can do is respect our time. Please listen to us on this one and make changes soon.

I'm a 18M, I honestly don't know what to do.
I'm SPOILED as shit, I've got a newer truck with low mileage, my second vehicle, I wrecked my first one doing dumb stuff on dirt roads. I used to have a really close friend group but we've grown apart. I was a senior they were all juniors. For most my high school time I sat by myself and just listened to music. I had a few friends and that was about it, the kids I did hangout with in my senior year were cool until they realized how boring I was. Even though i was the only senior I was the middle one in the age being 17 at the time. They like to drink and smoke and do dumb crap in Walmart like riding around in shopping carts and have fun. But to me that isn't fun, I feel embarrassed when they would do that stuff and ashamed when they did. I was kind of the dad of the group that basically didn't want to anything that was fun to them.
I'm going to college right now to become a firefighter, and it's all payed for by the VA. Like I said SPOILED. Which is why I'm so pissed and upset with myself for being like this. I have everything I want and could ask for. I posted on here before but I wanted to make a burner account for this. I'm a spoiled ass kid, and there is no reason for me to feel like this, my parents think I have friends that I hangout with and I don't. I've had one "girlfriend" and it was only about two weeks. She broke up with me on my 18th birthday, she made me so happy but I guess I couldn't make her happy. There is a lot of context that I'm leaving out for the sake of length of this post. Long story short she had to move away.
I don't really have anyone I talk to, I have my one friend on xbox but I've been kind of getting distant with them. He's got a girlfriend now, and I'm happy for him but it just makes me sad. I'm the youngest and the only sibling left at home which explains why I'm so spoiled. I have a good paying job, a truck I can only dream of, a loving family, and a paid for college. But there's still something missing, that girl I want to spoil, and spend my time with. I have so much time to myself and it makes me realize how lonely I am. I've recently gotten into listening to girlfriend asmr for when I go to sleep. Yes i know that shit sad asf but it helps. I hate that I've gotten stuck into it cause it makes me realize how much of a loser I am.
I workout just about everyday in order to prepare for the academy and honestly I think I'm doing pretty damn good. When I do go to the gym I see girls that I found absolutely stunning and want to go talk to them but I don't know how. I just wish I had the confidence to just go talk to them, any tips appreciated š¤£. But I have so much love to give and wish I wasn't such a wuss. I'm just stuck in the stage I guess in life where it's work, gym, school, and sleep then repeat.
I know it doesn't sound like I'm alone but I feel like I am, I just want that special girl soon or I feel like im gonna spiral.

Vader was dead set on forcing this path to be worth everything he'd lost. He didn't believe he deserved any better after all he'd done. He convinced himself Anakin symbolized weakness from a failed past, but one could also interpret that he believed (even if he wouldn't admit it to himself) he was unworthy of the name.

Vader told Luke "There is no conflict. That name no longer has any meaning for me.", but the anger in his voice during this dialogue suggested otherwise. The name Anakin Skywalker simultaneously served as: A) A reminder of his failure to save those closest to him. B) A reminder of when he had family, friends, and so much in his life to be grateful for (in spite of hardships & losses) that he took for granted. Self-loathing was all he understood anymore, and it was that hate that helped give him so much power even with his injuries.

From the moment he was first "consumed by Darth Vader", as Yoda put it, the greatest fundamental challenge for Anakin to return to the Light was never being forgiven by others. It wouldn't make enough difference if everyone he'd ever hurt or killed sincerely told him "I forgive you", if his mom appeared in a vision to console him, if Padme herself died still believing there was good in him, or even if his own son was willing to die believing there was good in him. Vader was dead set on forcing this path to be worth everything he'd lost. He didn't believe he deserved any better after all he'd done. He convinced himself Anakin symbolized weakness from a failed past, but one could also interpret that he believed (even if he wouldn't admit it to himself) he was unworthy of the name.

Self-loathing was all he understood anymore, and it was that hate that helped give him so much power even with his injuries.

By accepting everything that had happened on his journey, acknowledging that the direction he went was wrong, realizing it was ultimately his own choice even when accounting for Palpatine's influence, and no longer letting his negative feelings hold him down, he'd finally achieved peace with himself and the Force.

Hello, posting this to help people out who don't know what's going on.
When I first figured out I was being watched by these people I would try my best to avoid them and take side streets and nature paths in order to learn the extent I was being followed.
Turns out many many people, it seems like most people are apart of Neighborhood Watch and very few people were not invited.
My family and friends are apart of neighborhood watch and refuse to talk to me about it I don't know why. Well, they aren't my family and friends anymore because real friends & family don't do that.
I was told by someone who works for CSIS how to get off the watchlist here's how you do it:
Don't look suspicious, don't act paranoid, don't be negative or aggressive, don't do crime, live a normal life and pretty much just ignore it. Work your job, have a normal routine and stop associating with certain people in your life who might be a criminal.
Sounds odd because I've been getting stalked by these people since I was 13 but that was during a period where I was being bullied by people in my school immensely so that might have gave Neighborhood Watch an incentive to watch me in order for my protection.
Anyway not to talk too much about myself here... If you live your life for a long time, and I mean a long long time Neighborhood Watch and the Feds who are the mastermind behind this see that there is nothing going on with you they'll move on and stop watching you.
Right now, you're where the money's at. For whatever reason there's an incentive to watch you and that gives them a reason to do their job, write reports etc and gives them a reason to justify the surveillance and when these numbers where people are being watched they will be able to justify to courts why the need more funding for this type of surveillance.
I've been attacked by people on Neighborhood Watch many many times and have been set up several times to get arrested for crimes I didn't do. I've been set up so many times and it's all so they can justify why they need to watch me.... It's all BS they don't want to let me go, they want to aggravate me, harass me, stalk and attack me in order to keep me in a alert, panicked, negative and spiteful frame of mind in order for them to get me to retaliate and justify the surveillance for them in order for them to fill out reports to use in the courts so they can keep their numbers high, increase their fundings which will increase their pay, yadayadaya.
Stay out in the open, because they look for ways to attack and harass you in ways you'll have a hard time proving that they're doing that because these people are afraid of getting caught and are afraid of the police.
I've pissed off so many of these people by playing their game back (nothing illegal) and I've watched them get pissed off, yell at me, walk around me trying to find anything they can use to get back at me and what stops them is that they are in public and on camera, or other stalkers who WILL snitch on them are watching their move too because there are good, good and naive and ignorant stalkers who will snitch on their own stalkers if they see anything they do that's wrong. I've had stalkers snitch on other stalkers and tell the police that someone attacked me and that person got arrested and I doubt they're still on the Neighborhood Watch anymore.
I believe it's a CIA program at it's core trying to hurt people, manipulate people, behavior modify people whatever it is that CIA is known to do in the past I believe they're still doing it through Neighborhood Watch.... Mass shooters are on the rise and I believe CIA might be experimenting on people in ways where they can get away with it, just like how Neighborhood Watch people are trying to stalk you and harass you in ways they can get away with it and make it hard for you to prove it's happening.
Basically stay in the open, try your best not to retaliate, keep a normal routine and don't do anything illegal or shady and they'll see that nothing is going on with you over a LONG time and they'll move onto someone else. The person who works for CSIS told me that they'll come back and check up on you again, and again, a few times until they finally stop so keep that in mind. The stalkers are also getting stalked occasionally but they aren't aware, like we are.
The best way to spot these stalkers is if they have their phone out and the phone camera is pointed at you these people always have their phone out, and earphones in their ear sometimes they'll keep it in one ear and sit on a bus or somewhere or walk by you with the other ear faced to you showing nothing's in their ear meanwhile they got an earpod often times in the other ear on the side not faced to you.
They'll show you if you confront them that they aren't recording you or that they don't have their voice call/face time up but they're able to minimize it or close it, then turn it back on when you aren't looking, I promise you they are face timing someone and that person who is face timing you is screen recording everything.
Ignore the posts about freemasons, illuminati, all that stupidness it's THEM trying to discredit people from speaking out and make us all sound crazy it's simply Neighborhood Watch and CIA/CSIS/NSA that's behind all of this, but the people on foot they're all Neighborhood Watch and they get paid by Patreon, it's all volunteer work some of them do get paid but it's from donations for example, some neighborhood watches have everyone donate $5 a month and pool it all together and these people get paid mcdonalds, or gift cards, and the extreme stalkers can up to $300 a week or more depending on how often they're stalking.
The intelligence agencies do recruit people from time to time, but most of the time, like 98% of the time it's simply Neighborhood Watch and disinformation assholes online trying to confuse everyone about what's actually going on.
Keep spreading the word, it's simply Neighborhood Watch and the Federal Intelligent Agencies behind all of this.... maybe you hit their radar for whatever reason just don't give them an incentive to watch you anymore like I said earlier and you'll be fine and remember, the stalkers occasionally get stalked too so don't take it personal and if you're dealing with bad neighbors harassing you maybe find legal ways to piss them off but legal, nothing illegal for example... crank up your music full blast (provided it's not past the legal limit) and put it up towards your ceiling or something like that.
Also.... one more important thing to tell you.
Some of these guys can see through your walls right? Yeah, I'm very familiar with this.
Look up the device called VAYYAR.... It allows people to see through the ceiling, the floor and the walls and it's very cheap this is the sort of device they use to spy through the walls and also please check your outlets because I had a pinhole camera in my washroom very nasty stuff they did to me but I want to spread the word because I wanna help anyone I can out there.
For police who try to suggest mental health problems, simply say you aren't a danger to yourself and others, and don't say you're mad or violent or anything negative just keep it simple and they'll have nothing they can use to apprehend you and put you in a mental hospital because some of them who know what's going on usually the supervisors want to make you scared and shut you up but I'm not a conformist not in the slightest and neither should you be.... Stand up for yourself we're dealing with evil vigilantes who are told propaganda about us in order to get them to sometimes hate us and they feel justified in doing what they're doing to us.
There's many ways to legally piss people off just in case your case is severe and you're dealing with people who are maliciously trying to hurt you and get away with it, and no cops are helping you. I've seen cases where they were jumping on someone's tiny home at night and throwing eggs at someone's house, or meeting someone where there's no cameras and assaulting their target and running off and cops don't help that person it's terrible and you don't need to put up with that so I'll tell you some tips:
Take a picture with your flash on and let them know you took a picture of them. Sometimes they'll get right in front of you and/or yell at you.... it's just them trying to intimidate you into stopping but they will not and cannot touch you because they know other stalkers are watching this go down, or cameras are in the area do not be intimidated even if it's a big scary looking person if you know they're a stalker then do not be intimidated at all it's all BS trust me, they will not touch you, and in the odd case they do press charges and get that stalker the jail time they need and file a lawsuit against that person and get paid if you can but 99.99% of the time they will not touch you, they'll only act like they will.
Don't take pictures of any children or teenager follows or harassing you, especially since they're children just accept that they've been duped and if they're actually breaking the law though and you can prove it, like if they're harassing you then video tape of course and protect yourself but only if you can prove it 100%
Be careful with taking videos and pictures, because sometimes they are recording you and won't stop or react as you're doing it and then they'll post what you're doing on their Facebook, Twitter, instagram, snapchat, youtube or wherever else even Discord and will frame you as a weirdo even though they are so be careful.
If you're walking by, no one's going to blame you for being a Klutz and accidentally step on their shoes or toes, I mean, things happen right?
Or if you have a water bottle you bought from the store and the lid is hard to open, no one is going to blame you if you accidentally open the water bottle and your arm flings to the side with the bottle in hand and you end up splashing one of them in the faces.
No one is going to blame you, if you have a coffee in your hand and you trip and you spill it all over them, or if you walk by and your heavy bag hits them in the head, I mean these are all accidents and no one can blame you for it just make sure you're not doing it on purpose ;)
They want to play their game, well there are ways we can play this back. We don't have to be as careful anymore when it comes to being considerate, or being mindful of where peoples feet are on the bus or subway, or wherever we no longer need to be mindful just don't do anything on purpose ;) and you're all good.
If you're being tailed by a stalker and cops won't listen to you.... Go to a side street at night as you're being stalked and while this is taking place, have in your trunk some big thick and possible sharp gravel or rocks in a bag and dump them all over the road where you know your stalker will be driving... lets say they drove past you... They'll take a U-Turn and drive back, so dump it wherever you know they'll be coming and say F them and their tires, they shouldn't be stalking you anyway.
I'll try to make more posts in the future if i can but I believe the Mods on this subbreddit are the ''Gangstalkers'' and they are controlling what is put out there so in case this post doesn't even make it, I'll simply just PM everyone on a day to day basis with this information instead and I'll make my own subreddit and PM everyone to join that one if the Mods feel like playing that game by censoring true and helpful information.
This is how things are right now the World isn't perfect. You're not the only one, bad people are in this World don't take it personal. Find God, find Spirituality find something meaningful and don't let anyone take that away from you be strong.

If you're looking to get Fantasy World Maps, Town Maps, or Battle Maps of high quality and Resolution, made within a short span of time, then i'm the one you're looking for. You can commission me to make a map, and depending on how detailed you want it to be and the theme of the map, the price may vary. Each type of map has a Base Price, but the total price may increase depending on amount of detail, requests, etc. Either way, upon receiving payment the map will be finished within 1-3 days, less than 24 hours at my fastest.
I do all of the following maps, however, Region, interior and Battle maps are my specialty, and as such are of higher quality, hence the higher base price. A specialty of mine are also replicas, essentially, a map you wish to be remade with more detail, an example of which being the Battle and Interior map examples at the bottom of this post. A Replica map costs as much as the base price of that kind of map, plus an additional 5$ However, unless you choose to pick and Add-on, the price will not change from there on.
Additionally, if you decide to Commission 4 or more maps at a time, you will be given a minimum discount of 10% off the total price, though depending on your order this Discount might increase.

I do all of the following maps, however, Region, interior and Battle maps are my specialty, and as such are of higher quality, hence the higher base price. A specialty of mine are also replicas, essentially, a map you wish to be remade with more detail, an example of which being the Battle and Interior map examples at the bottom of this post. A Replica map costs as much as the base price of that kind of map, plus an additional 5$ However, unless you choose to pick and Add-on, the price will not change from there on.

"I hope there's someone with a lower level character to help me with this quest so they can kill the mobs faster and I just tag" This is a thing I never thought I'd say out loud while playing any MMO ever.
I wasn't playing WoW over these last years since the end of BFA. I was super hyped about going back to the MoP years since I did raid a whole lot of heroic Siege of Orgrimmar and finished the brawler's guild back then, when it was something of an achievement.
I'm 100% sure no one on blizzard played this on a normal pace up to level 70 and through into Heroic Garrosh, It's an unbelievable fuckup how much weaker I am on my level 70 than I am on a fresh level 10 character. I even tested it. On my warlock, on any Heroic Dungeon, I can't be hit by mechanics, I just die to anything, I got 300k hp, anything can hit me for at least 200k... Usually the big AoE effects that will give you some opportunity to move away with some seconds will tick me once and I'm dead. I redid the same heroic dungeon on a completely fresh warrior, level 10 arms with the fresh cape with Infinite Power XII, that's like +150 strength and +40% versatility. I was soloing everything not caring about aoe effects or if bosses aggroed on me due to my sheer dps and versa, even with only slam, whirlwind and execute I was able to deal about 75% of the whole dungeon damage, with mostly everyone being between the levels 61 and 68.
On the ad they showed a cloak of infinite potential with +234% Exp gain, I was looking thought streams and videos, and I saw no one with a cloak above 185% experience... and that would be on level 69, I really thought I'd get something like 200% extra exp at lvl 50. I thought we could get onto runescape leagues levels of faster experience, but I was tricked onto that.
Now I'm trapped with a level 70 that can barely quest properly now, I can't run heroic dungeons unless lower level people will carry me through since anything that touches me kills me and I can't raid properly (unless I go for raid finder). The only activity I can do to make my character stronger is geting threads, and that's it. Getting +12 random stat every now and then and hope I can reach some level within these 3 months. I thought this mode would be less about grinding and more about skipping steps into the fun (raiding/reaching extreme levels of strength), but it looks like it's only an extremely slow grind during the first 2 months of level 70.
I know about the exploit that was running, and I know I could've gone for that, but I got a life and didn't think it'd matter that much, I just finished leveling my character on sunday morning and the exploit was fixed around that time... too bad, if I knew I'd need it so much I'd gone for it.
Now I paid for a 3 month subscription for a game I wasn't playing, I won't play this mode anymore since I can't do anything on my character that feels weak... and I got about 15 hours of gameplay out of the 3 months I paid for.

They deliberately made the earlier levels feel like you're stronger just so they could pull the rug on 70 and surprise-grind you into slow as fuck +12 bonuses until you can reach a passable level so you can at least survive 3 ticks of an AoE instead of instant death.

My son [19M] filed harassment charges against me and my husband because we were making him go to college
Me and my son moved to US last year. I was a single mom for 16 yrs before I met and then married my husband. I saved up money so he can go to college. Where I came from, college is very important. We moved to a small town and my son found new friends. These friends in my opinion were not a good influence. I am used to polite and academically oriented kids back home. These new friends of his make fun of his books and his plans of going to college.
Before his HS graduation, me and my husband took him to several unis in the state so he could get a feel for which one he would like to go to. Then after he graduated from HS, I told him I have about $20k saved up for college. He said it is not going to fit because tuition is pretty expensive nowadays. I suggested he can just go to a community college 20 mins away and live at home to save money. He agreed and I gave him access to the fund (joint account).
Long story short, he did not enroll himself and instead started partying a lot and used the money on expensive dates with his gf. He moved out and stopped talking to me. I worked hard to save that up for more than a decade and I am upset that he wasted it in less than a year. Me and my husband went to his place and asked that he pay me back since it is specifically for college and not "fun money".
He called the police and filed harassment charges. I told the police to review the cctv footage because the whole time I was talking to him through his ring cam, I was calm and reasonable and my husband was just standing behind me not saying anything. I was outside the door talking, he never even opened the door to talk to me face to face. The police said there's nothing he can do if my son and his gf felt "harassed", he can file a restraining order if he wants to.
Back home, this is unforgivable to treat your parent like this. But here in US, I was treated almost like a criminal. My sister in law said it is my fault for confronting him and that the money is his to spend since I made him a joint account owner. Am I wrong?
Edit: People cursing me because I said something about wanting to throw my chancla on my son's face, to be clear I have never laid my hands or my flip flops on him ever. But after what he did, my intrusive thoughts wants me to throw it but of course I won't. If he called the cops on me just because I want to talk to him, what more if I threw my flip flops on his face??
His relationship with me before moving to US was fine. He knew my struggle as a single mom and he always try to help me around the house. I was not strict at all he was free to go out with friends anytime. He was even thrilled to have a father figure and my husband always try to make him feel included in everything.

Honestly I think a lot of parents donāt realize the depth of their children and forget that just because you think of them as one way doesnāt mean they donāt have other layers that can make them a different person. Sadly your son has found some less than savory friends to surround himself with and now he has to live with the decision he made. I honestly wouldnāt offer help for university again and would leave communication up to him. Also has there been any questions or discussion of potential drug use??

The money is gone. And since he was a joint account holder and a legal adult, thereās nothing to be done except refuse to help him financially anymore. Let him figure it out on his own from now on. The friends he had will likely drift away now that he no longer has a fat bank account to fund their party lifestyle.

I still have not heard from my son and I don't expect him to reach out. But his gf's mother has called me asking if my house is still open to him. I asked her why, it turns out he hasn't paid his share of the last month's rent and his gf had to pay it for him.
I said it is not my problem and he is not welcome anymore in my house since he is an adult. The gf's mom said "what kind of mother would not extend help to his teenage son?". She further insulted me and said now she knows why he left me.
At this point I really don't care anymore. I tried to help him get a good start in life but he wasted it. Aside from the $20k, he lived rent free in the house, free food, free phone, car, gas money, and I pay all the utility bills and his health insurance. All I asked is that he focus on his studies. Finish at least an associate's degree so he can get a decent job and be fully independent from me asap.
For some who asked why college is so important to me, as an immigrant, we are held under certain standards. We have to prove to USCIS that we will not become a public charge -- meaning we won't rely on any government aid. I want him to be able to be a good immigrant and become productive. I don't even know if he can become a citizen if he makes below poverty income. I was just trying to make sure he gets to live a good life.
Some of you asked if he even wanted go to to college. Back when we were in our home country, he begged me to pls send him to college no matter what.
P.S. The harassment charge was closed for lack of evidence of harassment, a lot of what he said were lies.
Edit: Another thing that gave me chills was when he moved out it was the middle of the night and me and my husband were both asleep. My son left the front door hanging open (I saw it in the camera). We live in a small town but there's a lot of crime in our area, someone could have gone in and done something bad.

His girlfriend's mom called me again today and basically handed the phone to my son to "sort it out between us". I let him just talk and tell me what is on his mind. Here's a summary of his point of view:
I asked him why he left the door open that night. He went silent for a few seconds then said "I just thought that if the house get robbed, I could just say I cashed the money from the bank and the robbers must have found it". Unbelievable.
At this point I was so emotional and I was a crying mess. I told him I am deeply sorry that I was his mom and that he had to grow up feeling deprived because I was poor. Then he said "Oh stop with your guilt tripping, you are saying that to make me feel bad.
Oh and he also said he hates it when I do this. I don't yell like that lady but I pretty much bug him to get up and help me set the table. I never get a response so I had to raise my voice higher. He said I was so rude. But he grew up with this. This is me being me. All moms back home do this. Al of a sudden he is comparing me to his mom's friends. In our culture we want food to be eaten while it is fresh from the stove. I spent 1 hr cooking after a long day at work, the least you can do is help me set the table and eat my food while it's nice and warm.
I hung up. My heart is broken in so much pieces. Am I wrong?

- He felt like I deprived him of a lot of things growing up. I couldn't buy him an Xbox/playstation, iphone, or anything a teenager wants when we were in our home country. I can't afford it. Back then I was making $1k a month and saving 20% of it for his college fund and whatever was left was for us to live on. I was helping my parents too with some groceries so money was really really tight. When I look back now, I don't know how I made it all fit.
- He felt so small because his clothes were hand me downs from cousins or just cheap clothes I bought from tianguis.
- He said I was not supportive unlike his friend's parents. Some of his friends have wealthy parents who bought their sons a house and never had to go to college or think about their future because they will inherit the family farm anyway. I have no generational wealth to be that supportive. I wish I have.
- He said I have so much house rules. Yes I do. I want him to wash his plates after eating (I used to do it for him), clean his room and keep it tidy, make sure the windows are tightly shut in winter, keep the thermostat at 68 during winter to save electricity, come home at 11pm or else the house will be double locked from the inside for my safety (because my husband drives a truck and not home at night most the time). I also told him before that since he has a part time job, he can't use my credit card for anything but emergency anymore, but he still used it sometimes anyway (card's been frozen since he moved out).
- I asked him why file charges when I only wanted some explanation from him. He said he don't want to inconvenience his gf and filing charges is the easiest way to get me to stop trying to talk to him.

It didnāt just give him the money to pay for the baby shower and childbirth. The gas station would continue to generate a steady flow of cash every single year. Darn! Okay, letās look at the next oneā¦ Tip #2: Build a recurring revenue businessIn a content business, you turn email subscribers into paying customers. But Syed calls them just re-occurring revenue. The revenue occurs every time someone on your list buys something from you.A new customer pays once. And unless you sell them something else, you arenāt going to make bank. The only way your business is going to see revenue trickle in from that customer is when you sell to them again. The solution? Build a recurring revenue business. Syed regularly invests and acquires other WordPress software and tools businesses. This allows him to cross-sell software and tools to existing info product customers. What does that mean?Syedās entire online business is built around the WordPress ecosystem. But there are many other software platforms like WordPress that have an ecosystem. I apologize in advance for the length of this behemoth Story time Reddit: Last night I was chilling at a camp grounds in upstate NYC and this really cute bartender was on her first day ever for the job, anyways I didnāt even notice her until a community dinner at 6pm when she got some food and went to the bar to get ready for the night because us folks at the camp were gonna party till LATE Iām 18M turning 19 and I had aspirations to be a bartender myself in the familiar country of Mexico where my family operates a gin booze business. she 22F just turned and I was eager to Yk like ask her how her first day on the jobs going right? Now I time goes by we all just chilling having dinner and our rolls out some Gigachad kitchen employees with dessert and everybody fiends the fucking ice cream sandwich bars and I hastily think about the fellow bartenders out the back of the building (itās the girl Iām taking about whose new and one other girl whom is basically her chaperone because they are her aunt) approach the bar with 2 ice cream sandwiches asking if they wanted the last stock of what remained of dessert š they politely decline and I just give them away to my boys and walk back to the main cafeteria area and around 5 minutes pass people start to clear out and I not really a drinker and not of age to drink in the US (although I have been to other countries to bars that you donāt need to be 21 to drink all fine) Sit down at the bar with the 2 bartender ladies, i start yapping about all the musical bullshit I do in life and the video game Iām developing and whatnot and thatās why I came up to nature to record the ambient sounds for my project idk why BUT then when I realize is that the girl whose newās eyes fixated on me intensely full German stare and Iām kinda intimidated ngl, so ofc as a good bartender would ask, they ask if I want anything to drink and i politely decline because I wasnāt really thirsty š We start to just chat a bit I ask about how their day went and then thatās when I realize the new girl whose bartending itās her first day and sheās absolutely drunk out the wazoo, I feel kind of bad because she was about to just go take a walk break and I saw she could barely even move straight š so I ask āso what are some good things to do around here?ā They reply really excited that before it gets too dark (somehow they say that and itās already becoming 8:30 and dark at out) I should go to this really pretty creek waterfall and the absolutely double whammy hammered chick volunteers to take me. Now me skeptical af and realizing that either A, she canāt keep her eyes of me because sheās deadbeat drunk or B, she thinks Iām cute and wants to know me this is why she offered to take me to a cool place. I accept and I have to walk this girl out the bar because sheās in heels and bouncing all over the place. We make it to a downhill section we have to cross and I see her struggling and ask if she needs a hand and she hastily accepts, next thing up her arms are basically spaghetti and rolling with the wind as we make it down this hill her holding onto me for dear life. Me not trying to make her feel uncomfortable turn my flashlight on to scout the area and we realize thereās some makeshift bench in there so we have a seat. She doesnāt like the fact the lights on and then she asks ādo you want to kissā and proceeds to inform me Iām a weirdo for turning on the light. Now Iām like: ā aight what the fuck girl like itās dark spooky af out the hell u want me to do get mauled by spiders in this Native American trap house? Then Yk me never had a girlfriend and curious accepts her kiss offer and right as we are about to friggin kiss a RANDOM ASS NPC COUPLE SPAWNS IN AND JUST WALKS UP TO OUR FUCKING TIPI! What are the fucking odds bro, like itās pitch black basically out and Iām in the middle of the woods, now they see us (we look hella sus at that moment) and kinda just walk away after being like āooooh cool!ā But anyways I get a pretty Alr first kiss, get insulted for being a horrible kisser and walk it off quoting myself āBro itās cuz Iām a Libra right?ā Jokingly anyways we kinda talk a bit she enlightens me on some personal facts and me too, I ask if sheās had a boyfriend and she says yeah I would had asked how many but didnāt weirdly enough and sheās asked me then if I had ever had a girlfriend and I respond honestly that nope I havenāt and she doesnāt buy it, she thinks Iām lying. I never get a response š Anyways she then decides to empty her pockets and she came for some reason with basically a mythical rarity load out of pocket loot. 2 Cinnamon booze plastic shots, lip gloss, chapstick and a cart. Now me being the worlds biggest glorified coward who never smoked and almost never drinks was amazed she had all this shit on her. I ask her how much she had to drink tonight and she told me how for every drink she served she also drank (idk why tf weird flex but ok?) we then kinda decide to go out of the tent because all of a sudden she wants to explore the pitch black woods when we both have very little phone battery left for flashlight. I think in my sober mind thatās a horrible idea and I remember in the back of my mind we had to be back in an hour from like 8:30pm and I remind her assuming she will have it into account but fail to realize SHES DRUNK AF AND CANT PROCESS SHIT!!! Anyways we walk around the creek bed and eventually we have a seat and just weirdly enough lay down watch the stars and talk about romantic stuff, she is very kind all of a sudden and we are just laughing wholeheartedly and enjoying ourselves and occasionally she tries to sloppily kiss me and Iām kinda just laying there like : š. But yeah we there doing all that and then she somehow convinced me to do shots of the weird spicy booze she brought and I was very nervous and almost about to fully fold because I had a lot of important things in my life impending in the coming days and I didnāt want to fuck something up being drunk (not knowing myself if Iām a lightweight or heavyweight drinker) We each do one and Iām kinda there lying paralyzed and shivering in my boots not because of the alcohol but because of the nerves I am chilling with a girl on a beauty of a night next to some lovely sounding creek noises and making out. Me being the newbie I am just go along with anything she says or does because Iām not trying to blow what I have going Yk. But yeah time passes we just there on essentially natures lawn hugging and kissing and talking about cute life aspirations and then I have to break the hard news to her, I inform her I wonāt be staying around long by any means ( I leave the next day back to da hood for school) and I feel so bad inside! I hear someone scream her voice and then Iām like Awww shit ur in trouble right? I check my phone and itās MOTHERFUCKING 11PM!!!! Iām like OH SHIT WE BEEN GONE A WHILE DAMNNN, I pull her up off the ground and try to get her to her aunt who I assumed was looking for her and then we sadly said it last farewell quickly. She kisses me and then she gets yoinked and chewed tf outta by basically her big auntie bartender me feeling horrible and all because I was so immature not checking the time, I walk up to her to take responsibility for the situation and not be a beta male type character she asks me all of a sudden if Iām āok or hurtā and I say yeah Iām fine and then she walks away and for some reason my good manners and habits kick in as I quietly shout āgood nightā and she shouts back āyeah good fucking night!ā Slams the door with my newfound friend and they both gone. I feel real bad for the situation but hey it already happened, and I then find out from some of my fellow campers that she was threatening essentially to call the state police because people have gotten lost in the woods but in my head Iām like NUH UH I GOT S TIER GOD MEMORY!!! Anyways I do have the girl I was withs number I message her apologizing for not being more responsible and whatnot and then a lot of time happens from there on. I go to bed at 1:30am, wake up the next morning at 6:57am and Iām worried because she hasnāt responded. I paranoid and feeling like a hopeless romantic sit around stressing for hours until BOOM I get off a call checking up with my moms who was out of town get a message from my dear bartender girl! Iām beyond ecstatic and try to see if we can say goodbye because I have to go so soon that same day (today as Iām writing this) we try to compromise and plan but sadly it doesnāt work out for us and we just donāt get a well deserved farewell. I feel truly defeated and depressed about it and people Iām with are speculating how I have barely eaten in all the hours I have been up today. I reply itās that m stresses but donāt go into detail trying to avoid ancontroversial discussion. This girls name is Sofia and I as I hope a constituted decent person hope I can keep this relationship but there are a few obstacles. 1, she lives 2 hours best case scenario from me. 2, she doesnāt really answer my messages until very late after I send them (for example i message her 12:30 she responds then doesnāt respond until past 5pm same day) and Itās hard to have a relationship with flawed communication I can see. Hi, it's been a long time and my other posts here got deleted so I give up in trying to post a final update and forgot about this site but today I saw that someone posted it on a site and I think is good to post an update because. I saw that there are people who keep sending me private messages asking how I'm doing. (I deleted the first post to Edit a few things)
I'm finally divorced, I thought it would take at least eight months to complete but it was faster than I thought since in my country it takes the signature of only one person for the divorce to be completed. She started making things complicated for me when she realized that we were really going to part ways, she even made up that I had cheated on her when I had only said that we were going to divorce because of differences, that way no one would ask, not even her parents who now think that I'm the one who cheated but I don't care. But as I always say; I got tired of trying to understand her and her actions.
I was very afraid that she might keep the house because she doing a lot of things because she wanted the house, but I didn't wanted to deal with her anymore so I just gave her a few of the furniture and appliances in the house even though I paid for everything, it doesn't matter, she was a housewife so after all she deserves her share in the divorce and I know her, She would have kept insisting and I was so feeble-minded at that point that I just wanted to stop seeing her forever, to be free of her.
I guess she came out of the closet herself because now she's dating an older woman and living with her as far as I know, I don't know if she lied to me and I don't want to know it, I don't want to know if that woman is another lover she had, I don't want to know how much they know each other, I don't care, I don't want to hurt myself with that. I've been focusing on myself, I feel like I'm too young to be divorced anymore but I feel good, I feel like this has been my biggest sign to start again and I want to move forward for myself and my family. I'm finally divorced, I thought it would take at least eight months to complete but it was faster than I thought since in my country it takes the signature of only one person for the divorce to be completed. She started making things complicated for me when she realized that we were really going to part ways, she even made up that I had cheated on her when I had only said that we were going to divorce because of differences, that way no one would ask, not even her parents who now think that I'm the one who cheated but I don't care. But as I always say; I got tired of trying to understand her and her actions.
I was very afraid that she might keep the house because she doing a lot of things because she wanted the house, but I didn't wanted to deal with her anymore so I just gave her a few of the furniture and appliances in the house even though I paid for everything, it doesn't matter, she was a housewife so after all she deserves her share in the divorce and I know her, She would have kept insisting and I was so feeble-minded at that point that I just wanted to stop seeing her forever, to be free of her.
I guess she came out of the closet herself because now she's dating an older woman and living with her as far as I know, I don't know if she lied to me and I don't want to know it, I don't want to know if that woman is another lover she had, I don't want to know how much they know each other, I don't care, I don't want to hurt myself with that. I have a collections scar on my credit report (not a debt, it was paid, but the mark is still there), but because money was not an issue at the time but I had a lot going on (family passing, divorce, my biz partner stole from the business because I was distracted and not watching stuff...) I paid BOTH the original debtor (a bank that gave me a credit card) AND the scorpions also known as Portfolio Recovering blah blah blah you know who they are.... If you didn't think it was possible to pay both, I somehow managed to do it. Because of the bigger picture and other issues, the money wasn't as much a spanking as was the mark on my credit. I could probably even get one of the payments back again if I followed up on it, but I don't bother because either my ex business partner or ex wife would get the refund in all likelyhood.
Anyway, because my former business partner added the address that was on the account at the time it was opened and used, it's not fraud because he was really a business partner and he really owned that building and everything was technically legit because of trust. But in the time since, I had all connections to it removed from my public records and Lexis and so on, to prevent issues going forward, and partly because of some issues regarding the divorce, a long story not important here.

Wanted to share my experience doing crash course studying for 7 days and passing the SIE first attempt! I never post anything on here, but others posts made a big difference for me, so here goes!
TL;DR:
I passed my SIE yesterday after only 7 days of study. Intense! I used Pass Perfect, spent 50 hours studying total. If you only have a week or two before your test, DO NOT take a bunch of notes on everything! Read the content, take the quizzes and test, take notes on those answers and explanations!
VERY IMPORTANT: Use the two free Achievable SIE dump Sheets and watch both the S7 Guru and S7 Whisperer 60 min crash course SIE YouTube videos the day before or day of test! Iāve included links at the bottom of this post. Be sure to memorize the dump sheet tricks and formulas, and decide whatās most important to reference. The test center gives you two laminated sheets and dry erase markers you can use as soon as the test timer starts. Be ready to write down key formulas, acronyms, timeframes, etc. Mine were the Options Matrix, SLoBS & BLiSS, yield teeter totter, Settlement times (T+1 or T+2) and notes on Open vs Closed end market. (All on the achievable formula dump sheets except specific Open/Closed Markets notes I took).
My Story:
In late April I was hired by Vanguard for a position starting May 28. Iād been a contractor doing customer service in an unlicensed VG position for about 10 months (no finance background before that); with the goal of getting hired in a licensed, permanent role within a year. I worked hard and got hired! The position requires SIE, S7 and S63. After my start date they pay me to do nothing but study and take exams for 9 or 13 weeks (depending on whether Iād passed the SIE prior to start date), which is awesome, but thereās a $5000 bonus if the SIE is passed at least a week before start date.
Note: I did have a little familiarity with basic terms and whatās required for account opening, due to my contractor position).
I originally scheduled my exam for May 13. I had about a month from hire date to May 13, and VG paid for the Pass Perfect course. I started some light studying the first week, thinking I had 3 more weeks and was on track. Then I got really sick for 2 weeks! Iām talking bed ridden, definitely no studying. So May 10 I rescheduled my exam to May 18! I had to pay $40 but figured it was well worth it not to fail, lol.
I was finally well enough to start studying on May 11, giving me 7 days. š I had retained very little from my initial studying so I started over. I thought āI can do this!ā I figured Iād had to do similar in college while working full time. Boy it was rough!
7 Days to PASS the SIE:
The first 3 days I had all day to study: Sat, Sun and Mon (had the day off for my original test date).
THE PLAN 41+ hours 5 practice tests, scoring at least 75%
Days 1-3 (full days) - 8+ hrs per day - Complete Pass Perfect Course (16 chapters) start to finish (reading and all quizzes, chapter tests)
Days 4-5 (Tues, Wed) - 5 hrs each day (2 before work and 3 after) - Take 1-2 Pass Perfect Final exams (1 hr 45 min each) each day, taking time to focus/take notes on anything I missed - Goal of 4 total tests, with 75% or higher on 3
Day 6 (Friday, day before the test) - 5 hours (2 hrs before work, 3 hours after) - Take 1 FINRA practice SIE exam before work (free on FINRA website) - after work, Review all Difficult Topics - Listen to S7 Guru & S7 whisperer on YouTube. (They each have a 60 minute crash course review, recommended for day before or day of test). - Print out Achievable Dump Sheets - add my own notes to dump sheets
Day 7 (Day of Test) Test scheduled for 2pm (1:30 registration) - 2 hours Notes and Dump Sheets Review in morning - Leave for Test at 11:30, arrive 12:30 (45 min drive) - One last Review of Dump Sheets for 45 min, take a break before registration
Great Plan Right?! Wellll, I didnāt quite stick to it. š¤£
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED: 52 Hours Study - Not at the planned pace! 4 Practice Finals (71% average) A lot of tears, anxiety and stress!š« A rollercoaster of Self-doubt and Self-Confidence
Day 1 (Sat): 7 hrs Completed first 3 chapters, taking tons of notes on a Google doc, color coded and highlighted. Iāll do more tomorrow I thought, my brain is fried
Day 2 (Sun): 10 hours Completed chapters 4 & 5 again taking tons (too many) notes, taking quizzes and Tests multiple times, worried I wasnāt getting the concepts and terms well enough. Didnāt want to move on until I had chapters 1-5 down pat. Getting really worried about my pace now, but āhey I have tomorrow. Iāll crush it and catch upā. Maybe I wonāt get to tests until Thurs, but Iāll be okay..
Day 3 (Mon): 7 hrs (I was exhausted and burnt out, still not 100% from being sick) Chapter 6 OPTIONSā¦ the death of me, soooo much to learn. Barely got through chapter 6. Full panic has now set in! I have to work full time the next 4 days! If the rest of the course is this hard, Iām screwed. There goes my bonus, how will I tell my husband? (He would not have been mad but I would feel terrible). āChildren and husband, do not bother me! I need to focus!ā š
Day 4 (Tues): 6 hrs ( 6pm-12am) Intense panic and anxiety, how the hell am I going to finish?! Screw notes, get through the chapters! Completed chapters 7-10. Whew, these chapters werenāt as bad, maybe itās getting easier. I think I remember a good amount. Better wrap this up tomorrow!
Day 5 (Wed): 5 hrs Very worried, but Iāll finish today and take lots of tests the next 2 days! Completed chapters 11-13 š« OMG Iām still not done with the course and I have 2 days left! I must sleep.
Day 6 (Thurs): 6 hrs in the evening - Completed remaining chapters 14-16, course done 8pm. Whew, content done. Worried about not taking any tests yet, but at least I feel like I know the content decently! Took my first Pass Perfect Test, score 71% not as bad as I thought but thatās not a lot of margin for error! (Need 70% to Pass actual SIE test). At that point Iām calculating how much each point is worth, looking up suggestions online and praying, lol š
Day 7 (Fri): 7 hrs Took 2 Pass Perfect tests, reviewed missed answers carefully and took notes. Scores: 71% and 73%. Took FINRA SIE test (on their website), 69%. Omg Iām gonna fail tomorrow. š„ŗ
Friday night I thought āHmm Maybe I can reschedule for Monday (the deadline to pass for bonus). Two more days and I will be ready!ā So I go to the Prometrics website and try to reschedule, seeing one slot for Monday at a site 2 hrs awayā¦ awesome.. NOPE, NOT ALLOWED less than 3 days before scheduled exam! (Why did I not think of this Tuesday?) š So I called customer service, begged and told them I had been sick.. Since they said I could not reschedule the day before the test, I asked if they could cancel it and schedule a new appt for Monday? DENIED. So I took a deep breath, cried a little and came to terms with it. This test is happening, tomorrow. š« š¤¬
Friday night 9pm: As recommended by colleagues and online forums, I listen to S7 whisperer 60 min crash course on YouTube; no notes, listening in bed). Ok, learned some things, great overview/review. Maybe I can pull this off afterall. š¤ Things are looking up. š
Saturday, May 13ā¦ Day of Test (2-4pm)
7am woke up, ate a good breakfast, prepared everything I needed to take and do. Now what? Should I take another practice test? Review my notes? Listen to video? I decided no more tests, Iāll listen to the other crash course ( S7 Guru 60 min crash course on YouTube). š¤
8amā11:30 Crunch time. Im determined to pass this exam!! Spent 3 hours listening to the 60 min S7 Guru video, pausing when needed, replaying as needed. Took 11 pages of color coded notes on the most important points and formulas I needed to remember, mainly on Regulations, Rules & laws (what market does it impact, what type of product, who, timeframes, holding time, etc). I knew this was going to be at least 15% of test (I was right) and these were the main questions I had missed on my Practice Finals.
11:30am Renewed Faith š DAMN I learned a LOT. Iām gonna pass this thing! I was already getting low 70s on Thursday practice tests and I KNOW I learned enough from the video to pass several more questions. S7 Guru literally saved me, pulling it all together in my mind! š¤Æ
12pm Went to UPS store, color printed the 2 Achievable dump sheets and my 11 pages of notes from the video! (I think the colors really help my mind retain the info). I scanned over them at every red light on the way. š
12:59 arrived at test center. Spent 20 minutes reviewing dump sheets and drilling in my mind what to put on the 2 pages they would give me for notes (see TL;DR for what I used on the test sheets, links to dump sheets at end)
1:20 walk in, first one there.. registration complete at 1:35. To my surprise, they seat me and I can start test immediately!
As soon as the timer started my hands were flying on the 2 laminated sheets they gave me. I spent the first 15 min vigorously writing out things I wanted to reference. 90 minutes left for 85 questions. Watched the timer closely to stay on pace. Used the notepad on the test platform for each question to write out calculations, or break down what each part of the question meant, used critical thinking for answer, marking questions for review when I was stuck between 2 answers. Most importantly, I followed my gut. I knew this stuff! Used calculator for EVERY calculation, even easy ones. Finished all questions with 5 minutes remaining. Reviewed marked questions but changed only 3, if I was SURE my original answer was wrong. Almost all advice I was given in the week before said DO NOT change your answers. Your gut is usually right, unless a later question clarifies something.
I hit submit and held my breath. š«¢ OMG, does that say PASS?!!! Yes, I actually Passed! š³ I cried out of happiness and relief, was on cloud 9. Swore I would never cram like this again! S7 and S63 will be better, lol.
SO hereās how you can have a better experience than me if youāre a week or two away and wondering how you can possibly pull this off. YOU CAN DO IT! šŖ
TIPS FOR CRASH SIE STUDYING (learn from my mistakes)
1 NOTE TAKING: Iāve always learned best by taking a ton of notes, color coded on a google doc. Taking notes reinforces it in my brain and helps me find ways to remember it for myself. However, if you are crash course Studying for the SIE, you do NOT have time to do this, lol. Honestly I barely looked at those notes in the end.
TIP: Read through the content quickly and only take notes when it tells you itās likely a testable question! Take all quizzes and tests, REVIEW the quiz/test answers (in PP the answers also give you a brief explanation of the concept) and take light notes on that! Do NOT replace reading with the videos! The first 4 chapters I tried to save time doing this and wondered why I was failing the chapter tests. The reading content had way more info than the video! Donāt shoot yourself in the foot and spend even more time you donāt have!
2 DONāT SPEND TOO MUCH TIME on EARLY CONCEPTS! The earlier (and for the most part, less valuable - less test questions) content (at least in the Pass Perfect course) will be reinforced throughout the following chapters in the course. Many of the of the concepts in the first few chapters build over the course, so the basics are reinforced later anyway. I wasted several hours!
3 EXPECT 20-25 hours are needed to complete the course/learn the concepts! You need to understand them, not just memorize them. Give yourself a day on REGULATIONS and 5 hours on OPTIONS, a few hours on BOND YIELDS, these comprised a LOT of questions on the test, could make or break you!
4 TAKE at least 4 PRACTICE FINALS with a goal of 75%, but if youāre not improving, use the crash course Videos, learn the content. (Donāt use those crash course videos until you have completed the course/content for all material. It will be confusing otherwise and feel overwhelming). Donāt just keep taking more tests in lieu of learning!
5 SPEND A FEW HOURS on (free) ACHIEVABLE DUMP SHEETS along with S7 Guru & S7 Whisperer crash course review videos on YouTube! I doubt I would have passed without these! Reviewing them for 4 hours and using them for key points on my tests sheets saved my ass!

Day 4 (Tues): 6 hrs ( 6pm-12am) Intense panic and anxiety, how the hell am I going to finish?! Screw notes, get through the chapters! Completed chapters 7-10. Whew, these chapters werenāt as bad, maybe itās getting easier. I think I remember a good amount. Better wrap this up tomorrow!
Day 5 (Wed): 5 hrs Very worried, but Iāll finish today and take lots of tests the next 2 days! Completed chapters 11-13 š« OMG Iām still not done with the course and I have 2 days left! I must sleep.
Day 6 (Thurs): 6 hrs in the evening - Completed remaining chapters 14-16, course done 8pm. Whew, content done. Worried about not taking any tests yet, but at least I feel like I know the content decently! Took my first Pass Perfect Test, score 71% not as bad as I thought but thatās not a lot of margin for error! (Need 70% to Pass actual SIE test). At that point Iām calculating how much each point is worth, looking up suggestions online and praying, lol š
Day 7 (Fri): 7 hrs Took 2 Pass Perfect tests, reviewed missed answers carefully and took notes. Scores: 71% and 73%. Took FINRA SIE test (on their website), 69%. Omg Iām gonna fail tomorrow. š„ŗ
Friday night I thought āHmm Maybe I can reschedule for Monday (the deadline to pass for bonus). Two more days and I will be ready!ā So I go to the Prometrics website and try to reschedule, seeing one slot for Monday at a site 2 hrs awayā¦ awesome.. NOPE, NOT ALLOWED less than 3 days before scheduled exam! (Why did I not think of this Tuesday?) š So I called customer service, begged and told them I had been sick.. Since they said I could not reschedule the day before the test, I asked if they could cancel it and schedule a new appt for Monday? DENIED. So I took a deep breath, cried a little and came to terms with it. This test is happening, tomorrow. š« š¤¬
Friday night 9pm: As recommended by colleagues and online forums, I listen to S7 whisperer 60 min crash course on YouTube; no notes, listening in bed). Ok, learned some things, great overview/review. Maybe I can pull this off afterall. š¤ Things are looking up. š
Saturday, May 13ā¦ Day of Test (2-4pm)
7am woke up, ate a good breakfast, prepared everything I needed to take and do. Now what? Should I take another practice test? Review my notes? Listen to video? I decided no more tests, Iāll listen to the other crash course ( S7 Guru 60 min crash course on YouTube). š¤
8amā11:30 Crunch time. Im determined to pass this exam!! Spent 3 hours listening to the 60 min S7 Guru video, pausing when needed, replaying as needed. Took 11 pages of color coded notes on the most important points and formulas I needed to remember, mainly on Regulations, Rules & laws (what market does it impact, what type of product, who, timeframes, holding time, etc). I knew this was going to be at least 15% of test (I was right) and these were the main questions I had missed on my Practice Finals.
11:30am Renewed Faith š DAMN I learned a LOT. Iām gonna pass this thing! I was already getting low 70s on Thursday practice tests and I KNOW I learned enough from the video to pass several more questions. S7 Guru literally saved me, pulling it all together in my mind! š¤Æ
12pm Went to UPS store, color printed the 2 Achievable dump sheets and my 11 pages of notes from the video! (I think the colors really help my mind retain the info). I scanned over them at every red light on the way. š
12:59 arrived at test center. Spent 20 minutes reviewing dump sheets and drilling in my mind what to put on the 2 pages they would give me for notes (see TL;DR for what I used on the test sheets, links to dump sheets at end)
1:20 walk in, first one there.. registration complete at 1:35. To my surprise, they seat me and I can start test immediately!
As soon as the timer started my hands were flying on the 2 laminated sheets they gave me. I spent the first 15 min vigorously writing out things I wanted to reference. 90 minutes left for 85 questions. Watched the timer closely to stay on pace. Used the notepad on the test platform for each question to write out calculations, or break down what each part of the question meant, used critical thinking for answer, marking questions for review when I was stuck between 2 answers. Most importantly, I followed my gut. I knew this stuff! Used calculator for EVERY calculation, even easy ones. Finished all questions with 5 minutes remaining. Reviewed marked questions but changed only 3, if I was SURE my original answer was wrong. Almost all advice I was given in the week before said DO NOT change your answers. Your gut is usually right, unless a later question clarifies something.
I hit submit and held my breath. š«¢ OMG, does that say PASS?!!! Yes, I actually Passed! š³ I cried out of happiness and relief, was on cloud 9. Swore I would never cram like this again! S7 and S63 will be better, lol.
SO hereās how you can have a better experience than me if youāre a week or two away and wondering how you can possibly pull this off. YOU CAN DO IT! šŖ
TIPS FOR CRASH SIE STUDYING (learn from my mistakes)
1 NOTE TAKING: Iāve always learned best by taking a ton of notes, color coded on a google doc. Taking notes reinforces it in my brain and helps me find ways to remember it for myself. However, if you are crash course Studying for the SIE, you do NOT have time to do this, lol. Honestly I barely looked at those notes in the end.
TIP: Read through the content quickly and only take notes when it tells you itās likely a testable question! Take all quizzes and tests, REVIEW the quiz/test answers (in PP the answers also give you a brief explanation of the concept) and take light notes on that! Do NOT replace reading with the videos! The first 4 chapters I tried to save time doing this and wondered why I was failing the chapter tests. The reading content had way more info than the video! Donāt shoot yourself in the foot and spend even more time you donāt have!
2 DONāT SPEND TOO MUCH TIME on EARLY CONCEPTS! The earlier (and for the most part, less valuable - less test questions) content (at least in the Pass Perfect course) will be reinforced throughout the following chapters in the course. Many of the of the concepts in the first few chapters build over the course, so the basics are reinforced later anyway. I wasted several hours!
3 EXPECT 20-25 hours are needed to complete the course/learn the concepts! You need to understand them, not just memorize them. Give yourself a day on REGULATIONS and 5 hours on OPTIONS, a few hours on BOND YIELDS, these comprised a LOT of questions on the test, could make or break you!
4 TAKE at least 4 PRACTICE FINALS with a goal of 75%, but if youāre not improving, use the crash course Videos, learn the content. (Donāt use those crash course videos until you have completed the course/content for all material. It will be confusing otherwise and feel overwhelming). Donāt just keep taking more tests in lieu of learning!
5 SPEND A FEW HOURS on (free) ACHIEVABLE DUMP SHEETS along with S7 Guru & S7 Whisperer crash course review videos on YouTube! I doubt I would have passed without these! Reviewing them for 4 hours and using them for key points on my tests sheets saved my ass!

However with Harper being there every Saturday anything I do with Emma I have to do with Harper. Take Emma to the zoo itās Emma, Harper and I. Taught them both how to ride bikes, takes them both to dance class, take them both to the kids salon, and so on.
Motherās Day was the last draw, I took them both to dance class Saturday morning ( Amber and I also pay for both dance classes because dead beet wonāt) on the way home Emma asked if we could stop to get something for mom for Motherās Day, I said sure but then it ended up I had to buy something for Harper to her her mom as well. On the way home I just kept thinking why am I buying someone elseās wife a Motherās Day gift, thatās his job.
A few days later (because I did not want to ruin Motherās Day) I told my wife that I am tired of raising Harper, her real father needs to step up. I tired of it taking away time I get to spend with Emma. She said that Jennifer is her best friend and we need to be there for Harper.
Now she is not speaking to me and sleeping in the guest bedroom. So AITA?
Just wanted to add some updates to questions I see.
Emma and Harper are best friends.
It was my idea to spend Saturday with Emma, I work more during the week so I wanted to spend Saturday with Emma and to give my wife a bit of a break.
We pay for things be Jenniferās husband thinks itās a waste on money to pay for dance class and Jennifer canāt afford to pay by herself.
Jennifer and Harper do things with Amber and Emma 1 or 2 times a week together during the weeknights.

Update #1 - June 2, 2023 (2 weeks later)
So quite a few people has asked for an update on this situation, sorry itās taken so long but itās been a hectic few weeks.
As for the updates the Amber and I are fine. Her reaction was based on poor word choices by me, poor communication by both of us, and some things I was unaware of at the time.
The short version is:
Things at home were much worse than I was aware of for Jennifer, and my wife had only recently found out how bad things were.
Motherās Day was the straw that broke the camelās back for Jennifer as well, she was raised in a you must stay together for the kids family, when Harper came to me for a gift she realized that her daughter did not see her sperm donor as a father so it was time to get out.
Jennifer came to my wife to ask for help leaving because she had no family in the area and Jennifer does not have the financial resources to leave on her own.
So the night my wife was going to ask me if we could help her is when I told her I was tired of raising someone elseās kid. Thatās what caused her reaction.
The Saturday after out initial argument Jennifer did not come over and Emma went to her grandparents, so the wife and I had a long discussion about what was going on, thatās when I found out all the stuff going on with Jennifer.
The wife and I decided the Jennifer and Harper can stay with us for the time being. My problem was never with those 2 it was that I had to take over for the deadbeat ( or dead beet if you prefer).
When we told Emma about this she was super happy her friend was staying with her. We had a conversation with her that if she wants to have time with either parent with out Harper just let us know, and we do not want her to feel left out of anything.
Last weekend with the help of a Uhaul and some friends of mine we got all of Jenniferās and Harperās stuff and moved it into our house. The good thing is we have a 4 bedroom house so everyone gets a bedroom, the bad news is my wifeās office got moved to the basement.
Wish me luck we shall see how this goes.
So itās been almost a year since my last update but with Motherās Day upon us I thought I would post an update and try to answer the questions Iāve gotten.
Jenn and Harper are still living with us. As I mentioned before Jenn did not make that much money, she worked as a phlebotomist for our local health network. The good news is with the current nursing shortage they have a program where they will pay for employees to go to nursing school. She was able to start that in the end of August. The bad news is itās an 18 month program and they only let you work 20hrs a week while you are in the program. So the arrangement is one she graduates she will move out then. That should be next May.
The Divorce with Dead Beet is still ongoing. Once he found out he was going to have to pay child support he tried every dirty nasty trick he could think of. No idea when that will be finished.
My wife is doing good, she happy she is helping her best friend, but 5 people in a house is a lot more work than 3. Since she works from home the pre and post school work falls on her.
Emma and Harper are still best friends. Shockingly Harper is doing much better in this environment than before. They donāt do everything together anymore. Harper quit dance class, but she started with soccer. I think knowing that she will get fatherly attention no matter what she is doing has given her some freedom to pursue other interest. Harper has turned into my Lego buddy. Emma never had any interest but Harper and I have done some nice sets together.
Emma and I still have our daddy daughter dates on the weekend, I still take her to dance class, and she started to take fencing classes. I donāt know if I should be proud or scared that she could defeat me in a sword fight.
I think I am doing better a year later. That there is a plan with a timetable for Jenn and Harper has relived a lot of stress from my life. That I also donāt have to see Dead Beet has also been a relief. I also try to take a few hours a month for me time and to do my hobbies. The bad part is I had thought that I was done with the portion of my life where I had roommates. It will also be nice when Jenn either gets her nursing job and/or gets child support so that Amber and I can stop footing the bill for so much.
For all the people that said Jenn was going to become our sister wife, or that I was going cheat of my wife with her, or that she was going to ruin my marriage out of spite, or any of the weird sexual fantasies some of you people had absolutely nothing has happened.

I preface this by saying I think I screwed up massively.
Hubbie and I have been married for six years now. He's always been the "fun guy", always laughing and making me laugh, always seeing the bright side of things. However, one thing that bothered me was that I never knew much of his family. His father died when he was little and he has little relationship with his mom.
I'll keep this short: four months ago I looked up his mom on social media and found her. I sent a message, and she replied. We chatted and met up, she doesn't live far from us. She knew all about me and her son because she kept an eye on him on social. We became friends and I filled her in with details about our lives. I asked her why hubbie went no contact with her. She refused to tell me why if hubbie didn't tell me, just said it was all her fault and she's ashamed of it. I proposed to try what I could to help them reconcile and she agreed even if she was reluctant at first.
In the following weeks I tried talking to hubbie about his mother and what happened between them. He always changed topic or shut me down. When MIL asked me how it was going, I told her things were progressing and I was working on it.
Last week I decided to try and have them meet up so maybe we could spend Easter together. I invited MIL over before my husband would be back from work so we could surprise. She was a bit unsure about this, she said she wasn't comfortable surprising him like that, but I ressured her. I thought that any emotion hubbie could have would be better cooled by a hug.
Spoiler alert, MIL was right. Hubbie came home, and after the initial shock started yelling like I never heard him to her to get out immediately. She just grabbed her coat and stormed out. Afterwards, hubbie told me to get out too when I explained what I had done. He didn't yell at me, but his voice was cold and almost emotionless.
I've been staying at my sister's since. Hubbie won't take my calls. MIL cried on the phone and asked why I lied like that and never talked to my hubbie and "prepared" him for that. Now she stopped taking my calls as well.
I know I have screwed up big time, and I see now what a massive dork I've been. How can I fix this? I want to apologize to hubbie for what I did and maybe find out why his mom is dead to him.

Your husband is an autonomous adult who is allowed to set his own boundaries, and if you couldnāt trust his ability to make good decisions in that regard you should not have married him. Instead you meddled and undermined and completely violated his trustāhe trusted that you would act like a partner, not an overbearing matchmaker who didnāt believe him about his own lived experience.
You donāt have to know what happened. It is not your place to judge whether it was ābad enough.ā It does not matter if you ever understand. All you ever had to do was trust him, and you demonstrated you have no interest in being that sort of spouse, and so it serves you right if you lost him.
sk1999sk ask your husband to go to marriage counseling. You betrayed him big time. He may never be able to forgive you. You also need individual therapy to find out why you would do something like this to someone you supposedly love. if your husband refuses marriage counseling and ends your marriage, please see a therapist on you your own.

Hey guys My original post and account got nuked, and I can't find them anymore. If someone can find my original post I'll add It in an edit.
The last weeks have been rough, but we might be okay.
Hubbie opened up about the reason he cut off his mother and many of you were right, it was s3xual abuse. Not from his mother, but his stepfather. They were engaged and his mom was pregnant with his child when the guy started giving my husband "attentions".
Husband went to his mom but she shut him down accusing him of being jealous and wanting to spoil her happiness. This went on until his mother came home from work unexpectedly and walked in on the guy "giving attention" to my husband. She kicked him out, pressed charges and annulled their engagement, but the damage was done and my husband no longer trusted her. She also lost the baby due to stress and although she never blamed my husband for it, he felt it was his fault.
All this felt like a gut punch for me, first for what he went through, and then because now I am the person who shattered his trust. You need to understand that you don't deserve his consideration no matter the reason for his estrangement with his mother. Whether you think it's justified or not.
You seem to have some narcissistic tendencies, and you need to get that addressed. A mentally healthy person would never do this.

My husband is doing better and our relationship is slowly getting back to what it was. I know it will take a lot of time to repair the damage I caused, but I am willing to give him all the time he wants and do anything he asks out of me.
The bitter irony of this whole story is that he told me he had been thinking about reaching out to his mother, but on his terms and time. By going behind his back I almost destroyed that chance of reconciliation and imploded our marriage.
I am working on myself and will start seeing a therapist next month so I never do something like that ever again and more importantly, never betray his trust ever again.
Also, with my husband's knowledge and consent, I apologized to MIL for leading her on with false promises and she has forgiven me.
As for him and MIL, they started talking to each other, have met a couple of times in public and yesterday my husband invited her over for dinner so that in his words we all can try to start over properly.
She's a very sweet woman and she's eager to reconcile with him and get to know me. My husband said that for now he wants for all of us to get a bit used to each other, then he and MIL will get to work on their traumas (his words).
He says she's not the "villain" in what happened, but he needs to come to terms with her poor decisions and his own feelings of guilt for her losing her baby. MIL on the other hand is very apologetic and extremely sorry about what happened (in my husband's opinion, sincerely so) and doesn't blame him at all for the miscarriage.
As for me, I just sit aside and do my best to rebuild the trust with my husband and become a better and safe partner.
He started being affectionate with me again and we are no longer on thin ice, but I can't stop thinking I almost lost him because I thought I knew better than him.

Hubbie and I have been married for six years now. He's always been the "fun guy", always laughing and making me laugh, always seeing the bright side of things. She refused to tell me why if hubbie didn't tell me, just said it was all her fault and she's ashamed of it. In the following weeks I tried talking to hubbie about his mother and what happened between them. He always changed topic or shut me down. When MIL asked me how it was going, I told her things were progressing and I was working on it.
Last week I decided to try and have them meet up so maybe we could spend Easter together. I invited MIL over before my husband would be back from work so we could surprise. She was a bit unsure about this, she said she wasn't comfortable surprising him like that, but I ressured her. I thought that any emotion hubbie could have would be better cooled by a hug.
Spoiler alert, MIL was right. Hubbie came home, and after the initial shock started yelling like I never heard him to her to get out immediately. She just grabbed her coat and stormed out. Afterwards, hubbie told me to get out too when I explained what I had done. He didn't yell at me, but his voice was cold and almost emotionless.
I've been staying at my sister's since. Hubbie won't take my calls. MIL cried on the phone and asked why I lied like that and never talked to my hubbie and "prepared" him for that. Now she stopped taking my calls as well.
I know I have screwed up big time, and I see now what a massive dork I've been. How can I fix this? I want to apologize to hubbie for what I did and maybe find out why his mom is dead to him.

Your husband is an autonomous adult who is allowed to set his own boundaries, and if you couldnāt trust his ability to make good decisions in that regard you should not have married him. You donāt have to know what happened. It is not your place to judge whether it was ābad enough.ā It does not matter if you ever understand. All you ever had to do was trust him, and you demonstrated you have no interest in being that sort of spouse, and so it serves you right if you lost him.
sk1999sk ask your husband to go to marriage counseling. You betrayed him big time. He may never be able to forgive you. You also need individual therapy to find out why you would do something like this to someone you supposedly love. if your husband refuses marriage counseling and ends your marriage, please see a therapist on you your own.

The last weeks have been rough, but we might be okay.
Hubbie opened up about the reason he cut off his mother and many of you were right, it was s3xual abuse. Not from his mother, but his stepfather. They were engaged and his mom was pregnant with his child when the guy started giving my husband "attentions".
Husband went to his mom but she shut him down accusing him of being jealous and wanting to spoil her happiness. This went on until his mother came home from work unexpectedly and walked in on the guy "giving attention" to my husband. She kicked him out, pressed charges and annulled their engagement, but the damage was done and my husband no longer trusted her. She also lost the baby due to stress and although she never blamed my husband for it, he felt it was his fault.
All this felt like a gut punch for me, first for what he went through, and then because now I am the person who shattered his trust. I have gotten onto them more than once about this particular issue and I am just about ready to give up because I give them plenty of opportunity to talk to me outside of school and work and everything else. There has never been a point where they have called me or texted me first about anything. I am never checked on and Iām never asked how my day has been. There's a mom who i'm starting to feel like is taking advantage of these classes.
She's increasingly late with picking up her kid after the session.
To give some context, this is a rich woman. It's not that she's out working a job. She is a stay at home parent. No other kids. She told me all this because another thing she loves to do is have really long conversations with me on top of already being late.
She's been late most of March (3 classes). I talked to her about it at the end of the month and she apologized and said it won't happen again. It did. x2 now. So I started timing her.
The second week of April (no class the first week), she arrived 45 minutes late. Then spent maybe 20 minutes talking to me. The other day, I timed her again. She got there around the 1 hour mark. I made a point to show her my timer and I gave her a warning that I will remove her kid from my class. She tried to derail the conversation so I raised the timer and turned it on again. She said I was being 'unjustifiably rude' (exact words).
I explained (politely) that I have other obligations and her consistent lateness throws my schedule off.
She didn't want to have this conversation, stomped to the driver's side of her car. Her kid lowered his window to say thank you and 'bye' to me. I told him bye and added 'tell your mom to stop being late'.
She reported our conversation to my boss but twisted it. She said that I threatened her kid with getting kicked out of the program. I didn't say it like that. And I didn't say it to her kid. There are other instructors, I was just implying (to her) that I won't have him in my group. My boss still gave me a lecture about how I don't have that power and can't make the statements I did. He went over professionalism and how i'm being too hard on this mom who could have other circumstances going on.
But i'm not getting paid for the hour after this class that I spend hanging out with her kid.
The kid's great.. but I have things to do.
For people who work with kids, what's the etiquette here? do I give parents grace?
I told my boss i'm going to start adding up all the hours and one of them is going to have to pay me.

Here's the update:
I took various notes from the people who gave me tips here. I wrote a detailed email to my boss and cc'd other people who run this program, including co-instructors. I did this for transparency, accountability, and to put pressure on my boss to provide a policy around the issue instead of him dealing with us all individually / case by case.
My boss didn't respond to the email, instead he called me in to see him. I kind of had a feeling heād do that.
He asked me why I sent the email cc'ing everyone and was clearly not happy about my approach. He kept trying to minimize the situation, and make me feel that I am in the wrong. He told me that I'm being greedy. That my attitude about one parent being late is exaggerated and I'm looking for problems. I should essentially just wait around after-hours if I need to sometimes (unpaid) because it's a program for kids. I should do this with some heart and "Do it for the kids". I had to turn my face to hide the fact that I wanted to laugh in that moment. But mostly I was frustrated.
Having proper policies in place not only protects the staff, it protects the kids, not to mention his fucking business. After I made my perspective clear (in a mostly professional manner).. he came around a little.
Unfortunately, he flat out told me he will not back-pay me for the time that I've logged waiting for this mom, but he will implement a late policy moving forward. He's followed through on that. He tried to throw in other useless incentives for me. I didn't accept them.
That mom wasn't late this week. She did try to catch my eye when she picked her son up and I ignored her. She ended up getting out of her car and asked me if I saw her waving. I kept ignoring her. She wore me down because she kept following me around while I locked up. I informed her why she's getting the silent treatment. She apologized and also tried to write me a check on the spot. I didn't take the money. I told her... honestly, I might quit instead. I am sharing this because the woman clearly lives in her own world. Here, just take my money and stop being mad at me. I was so furious. It took everything in me to keep the words that I said to her to a minimum.
I am on the fence about just letting this go. Maybe the program will get smoother with time. It's not a lot of money worth fighting over... I am so disappointed in my boss. Iāve known him for a long time as a mentofriend. Being his employee has been something else. The program itself is very new and disorganized. Due to differences of opinion about how its run, I doubt I will stay with it.
This is my first time working a job that involves kids. My actual profession is unrelated to boxing. This was mostly something I picked up spontaneously, because I saw the merit in it and I wanted to do my part to help. I admit I could use the extra money too. I donāt mean to be greedy or stingy, but I live in an insanely expensive city and I take care of someone with expensive medical bills.
I haven't proof-read this, but it looks longer than I wanted it to be. Iām sorry. Iām tired.

You are being taken advantage of here, but you know that. Do what's best for you. I'm not only suggesting making the report so you get paid, but also to put this business on notice because you probably aren't the only person they will try to exploit this way especially after you've left and having that record is important to show a pattern of behavior on the business owners part.
ERVetSurgeon: Report him to the Dept of Labor at the federal level. You cannot force someone to stay on the job "off the clock." If they did that, you will get back pay.

I got other instructors to get on my bossās case with me. I also informed him I have to quit the kids class and I will quit the training I do with adults too / leave the gym and our friendship if he doesnāt hear me out respectfully.
The reason I wanted to avoid reporting my boss is because I have a relationship with him and nearly everyone at this gym going back almost 10 years. I didnāt want to resort to making a report without exploring every other option first.
My boss caved. Iāll get paid for the extra hours I logged on the next paycheck.
Moving forward, I will no longer teach the kids, because although we have a policy and late pickup fee in place, as it stands right now, instructors are still responsible to stay back until the last kid leaves and my boss doesnāt want to negotiate on that. I canāt stay behind after classes. I have other obligations the same day as the class I teach. Itās unfortunate because this one parent is the only one currently abusing the system because she can afford to.
That kidās mom was late this week again by 30 minutes. Showed her my timer. I also told her Iāve quit. She asked me if the late warnings āresetā when a new instructor takes over (they donāt). She then tried to hire me out from under my boss as her kidās private instructor. I said no, but I might reconsider if she ever wants lessons. I would love to give that woman hell.
Alright, thatās the end of that. I feel bad I couldnāt stick it out with this kids program but itās too disorganized for me right now.

OOP: See. That's how it should be. Unfortunately, I don't think my boss has any policy around it judging from the way our conversation went. If this continues to be an issue, I'm going to push for compensation since his approach currently has me taking responsibility for it. I'll send an email to him about clarifying so I have some kind of a written response.OOP on the policy and the front desk staff to deal with the phone calls to parents for pickups
OOP: There is no front desk. I didn't want to immediately escalate to CPS and cops before making some attempts with the mom. I am on the fence about just letting this go. Maybe the program will get smoother with time. It's not a lot of money worth fighting over... I am so disappointed in my boss. Iāve known him for a long time as a mentofriend. Being his employee has been something else. The program itself is very new and disorganized. Due to differences of opinion about how its run, I doubt I will stay with it.
This is my first time working a job that involves kids. My actual profession is unrelated to boxing. This was mostly something I picked up spontaneously, because I saw the merit in it and I wanted to do my part to help. I admit I could use the extra money too. I donāt mean to be greedy or stingy, but I live in an insanely expensive city and I take care of someone with expensive medical bills.
I haven't proof-read this, but it looks longer than I wanted it to be. Iām sorry. Iām tired.

OOP: I wouldnāt say Iām angry about the situation.. I think I am mostly frustrated with my bossās approach in dealing with issues. Itās hard to convey all of it in writing but heās extremely stubborn and hard headed. He takes unnecessary offence to constructive feedback and then holds grudges. Getting him to do anything is always more difficult than it needs to be. He will try to bulldoze you, thereās always friction no matter what you suggest. It shouldnāt have to be like that.WaitUntilIDie: You'd make the right call to cut your loses, see this as a learning opportunity for what is not only intolerable but most likely illegal. I can't think of any state where you can be expected to continue working without pay. Id go as far as to suggest reporting the hours you were unpaid to the labor board in your state if you are from the states.
I think Iām coming to terms with the realization that heās a great friend and mentor but a terrible person to collaborate or do business with. I wish he would have taken what I said more seriously instead of focusing so much on this being an isolated issue when it could easily happen again with another parent. Even though heās implemented the new policies, heās acting as if he did me a favor.
The person I was angry at, is the mom.. because of the way she talked to me and threw money at me. There was no understanding.
She was so quick to report me to my boss and twist my words last week, and this week shes at pickup trying to flag me to chat like it never happened. The entitlement of this woman. She canāt stand being ignored. And when I reminded her what she did she acted as if it was just a money problem. Who cares about the appointments I got late for and the trouble she caused meā she can write me a check right now and order me to stop being mad at her. It definitely rubbed me the wrong way.

You are being taken advantage of here, but you know that. Do what's best for you. I'm not only suggesting making the report so you get paid, but also to put this business on notice because you probably aren't the only person they will try to exploit this way especially after you've left and having that record is important to show a pattern of behavior on the business owners part.
ERVetSurgeon: Report him to the Dept of Labor at the federal level. You cannot force someone to stay on the job "off the clock." If they did that, you will get back pay.

I got other instructors to get on my bossās case with me. I also informed him I have to quit the kids class and I will quit the training I do with adults too / leave the gym and our friendship if he doesnāt hear me out respectfully.
The reason I wanted to avoid reporting my boss is because I have a relationship with him and nearly everyone at this gym going back almost 10 years. I didnāt want to resort to making a report without exploring every other option first.
My boss caved. Iāll get paid for the extra hours I logged on the next paycheck.
Moving forward, I will no longer teach the kids, because although we have a policy and late pickup fee in place, as it stands right now, instructors are still responsible to stay back until the last kid leaves and my boss doesnāt want to negotiate on that. I canāt stay behind after classes. I have other obligations the same day as the class I teach. Itās unfortunate because this one parent is the only one currently abusing the system because she can afford to.
That kidās mom was late this week again by 30 minutes. Showed her my timer. I also told her Iāve quit. She asked me if the late warnings āresetā when a new instructor takes over (they donāt). She then tried to hire me out from under my boss as her kidās private instructor. I said no, but I might reconsider if she ever wants lessons. I would love to give that woman hell.
Alright, thatās the end of that. I feel bad I couldnāt stick it out with this kids program but itās too disorganized for me right now.

To get a better idea, like 95% accurate, just use leetify.
At the end of each match where someone was beyond sus, just check out their leetify profile and itāll either be obvious that they are or arenāt cheating. You can see if they queue with hackers to get comms and get carried while not hacking themselves and if they had a 20 game win streak from 8k Elo to 19k Elo within two days.
After using leetify like this it showed me how many people are queuing with 1-2 hackers per each premier match to get carried. Having a 30-45% win rate with most of their friends and then having a 90%+ win rate with over 80+ games played with certain friends kinda is a red flag, and a lot of people are doing this.
Itās upsetting to hear so many people say cheating isnāt a problem and everyoneās just complaining about anyone whose better, meanwhile when you look at the leetify specs it actually looks like the majority of games above 16k have at least one hacker in them. Ranks above that are seemingly just hacker v hacker.
Also, cheats for CS2 are WAY more sophisticated than in csgo. Itās not like basic walls or aim lock, the cheats are insane ā donāt believe me, look them up. I promise you that youāll be blown away. My point in saying this is that itās not near as obvious to spot as it was in csgo, and many people will see 36 kills 38% headshot and be like nah they werenāt hacking just look at their headshot percentage, if they were hacking it would be way higher.

Anyway, cs2 has become an annoying mess, Iād even say unplayable when it comes to finding a decent game. You get 1 good game out of 5 it feels like. By good game, I donāt mean a win, I just mean a fair match where thereās no sus bs and just fair gamers gaming it out lol.
Before anyone says Iām just dogwater, yes I am dogwater, but I have also only solo and duo queued up to 16,800 only to be met with endless hackers and an abrupt de-rank making it very upsetting after a lengthy process to reach that rank. Iām probably around 16,000 if I were to rate myself, anything above that I canāt say Iām confidentially that skilled because I donāt play enough to say anymore.
As I was saying, Itās made my friend and I want to hack ourselves (we arenāt going to) but it really makes fair players want to turn rogue as well when they are met with more hackers and unfair cheaters than legit ones.
TLDR: Use leetify as your own anti cheat to verify sus behavior, I have no idea why VAC isnāt redflagging a lot of these accounts that have clear hacking stats such as 90%+ win rates with 60+ games with only certain players and 30% win rates with others. Itās clear when they are getting carried by hackers or they are the hackers themselves based on their stats and history through leetify. Using this red flag system using these stats using AI and then feeding these flagged accounts into an overwatch queue of their most reported games would be relatively easy and more efficient than a lot of other options for cheatersā¦
TLDR TLDR: Hacker bad, leetify show who hacker man, why doesnāt valve use stats to detect hacker man more efficiently?
