2024.05.20 07:14 wholelottapenguins I’m 78 hours into my 2nd time quitting vaping. I’ve tried some of the most recommended products to assist in quitting, and here’s what worked for me the most: Wellbutrin XL 300mg, Breathing exercises, Gum/candy/mints, and VICKS INHALERS.
Hello! I’m currently 78 hours into quitting vaping once again, this time quitting 18mg freebase nicotine juice after I accidentally relapsed. Before the relapse, I had been going 6 months strong CT off of a 50mg salt nic daily vaping habit that I had clung to since 2018 after starting with Juuls, moving onto refillable pod devices, and eventually settling on shitty disposables. I should state that I’m currently 24 years old male with ADHD.
I had quit the 50mg Salt Nic back at the end of last March, and I had not been prescribed Wellbutrin for the entire time, I only got put onto Wellbutrin at the end of this January. Anyway, quitting the 50mg Salts was hellish, but I got through it and eventually the cravings mostly subsided. The first 2 weeks were the most difficult with the first week itself being the most challenging. However, Week 2 and 3 presented their own challenges as my brain kept convincing itself that something was wrong with me since I still had occasionally strong cravings and agitation and I was sure that I was supposed to be past that shit since I was at the 2 week mark. But EVERYONE is different, and instead of relapsing, I sought out a lot of products to assist in quitting vaping that were used by people close to me or online who had successfully quit themselves.
Here’s my shortish and sweet thoughts on each:
• Vicks Inhalers: A personal favorite. They’re non-medicated and contain NO ACTUAL VICKS, so there’s no chance of them making you sick even if you use them a fuckton. If you do use them a fuckton, the worst that might happen is that you’ll eventually have to sneeze really badly, but that’s the worst I’ve experienced from them. I know it sounds silly, but using the Vicks Inhalers actually almost tricked my brain into feeling like I was getting the satisfying hit of like a menthol vape. I was half expecting to exhale smoke the first few times I used them. They do ‘taste’ a lot worse when you first start using one, but after using it for a bit, the ‘hit’ it provides becomes a bit more subtle and a lot more palatable and satisfying. It sort of does give you something to fiddle with and can satisfy that oral fixation even if you’re inhaling it nasally. I guess you could inhale it through your mouth like a vape, I’ve definitely done it a few times (accidentally, like my hand is just trained to put stick-shaped things to my mouth like a cigarette lol), and I had no ill effects besides people looking at me weird and it tasting pretty bad when it’s fresh and super potent. Give it a try, but don’t buy the bulk ones on amazon.
• Nicor Inhaler: Similar to the Vicks, just not as strong and it lacks the strong menthol punch in favor of a more chill, subdued, relaxing scent. Full of essential oils and other stuff, I kind of like it. There’s tons of other essential oil inhalers that you can try if Vicks has too much of a punch, I’m just using this one because a friend bought it for me and I wanna show them my appreciation.
• Gum/Mints/Candy: Pretty self explanatory. I’ve fallen in love with the Trident Sour Patch Kids gum, and you can pick up a pack of 4 on Amazon for like $12-$15. I’ve also been munching on Jolly Ranchers, Sour Skittles, Hi-Chews, and Popsicles like crazy. Go for what you love and feel no shame about it. Give your inner kid a little hit of that old childhood sweets fix. You deserve it.
• Wellbutrin XL 300mg: It definitely helps to really take the edge off of the cravings and withdrawals. I definitely still feel a bit of agitation, but there’s been alot of points throughout the last few days where i’ve felt shockingly normal and almost forgot that I wasn’t using nicotine but I don’t know how much of this easiness is attributable to the Wellbutrin since I’m definitely comparing this experience to the more hellish experience I had quitting salt nic since obviously freebase nicotine is a lot easier to quit.
• Metal Breathing Tube Thing: Idk. It kind of relaxes me and helps to remind me to slow down and focus on my breathing sometimes. Guided breathing and medication exercises genuinely can make a huge difference for you and have helped me step down off the ledge of an oncoming panic attack or meltdown. The breathing tube just exists to make that process easier while giving you a fun little object to satisfy your oral fixation.

My actual study time was really closer to two weeks because I took a few weeks off to travel and be distracted. (Recently laid off) I spent 4 hours in the hospital the day before the exam with excruciating back pain. Sitting for so long testing with that level of pain was one of the more miserable things I've done, but I wanted to get it over with. I had 30 minutes left to spare and took a 5 minute and 8 minute break.
I spent a total of $584, exam was $425 with membership. Membership was $159. I did not pay for the local charter. I did not pay for any study materials.
I did take the exam online. I know in person is recommended and I expected to do it that way but the earliest date available was mid June and I wasn't waiting 4 weeks to take it. I barred my husband from the room and from making any noise at all. He was good about keeping the cats away from the door. I cleaned everything out of the bedroom that I possibly could. I used a laptop but used an Ethernet cable for Internet. I set my laptop up on a clear plastic tote so it would be eye level. I paid a lot of attention during the exam to ensure I only looked at the screen and didn't go out of view even for a second. I drew all of my blinds and curtains closed. I kept water and some light snacks in my bathroom (separate room) in case I needed it during breaks. The proctor never interacted with me. Not once. It was a bit unnerving but extremely smooth process and I'm grateful as I had a lot of anxiety around testing online.The worst part was having to wait 25 hours and 38 minutes (who is counting?) after the test had ended for my results.
Background: I have severe ADHD but I am a very good test taker. I'm one of those sick people that finds these things fun. I have passed the financial licensing exams series 7, 63, and 66. If you are familiar with them, the series exams had more content to learn, but the PMP questions were very similar in structure and difficulty to the 63 and 66. Overall I thought the PMP was easier but I had less professional experience when I took the series exams. I took a lot of AP exams back in high school. I'd say this test was harder question wise than any of those but again, less content to cover. I'm a senior scrum master for tech teams with years of experience. I've never worked as a formal project manager in waterfall but I am extremely good at what I do. I mentor many other scrum masters and know agile inside and out. I didn't study for the agile part of the test at all. I took about 60 agile practice questions for reassurance and amusement but only got three wrong so figured I was good. I also have a bachelor's degree in business (years ago) so a good chunk was just a refresher.
I didn't spend any money on materials so here's what I did to study.
I started with Oliver Lehmann's free exam. I do think it was harder than the PMP but I wanted to get a baseline before doing anything. I reviewed all of the questions afterwards and wrote down the topics I really needed to focus on. I scored a 68% the first time through.
I started reading the PMBOK guide you get when you pay for the exam. I downloaded it on my Kindle and would read it when I had the attention span to do so. I read the first 50% of the entire PDF they give you but wish I would've started halfway through as it probably would have been more useful for me. It was taking too long and I was getting antsy so I stopped reading it.
When I didn't have the attention span to read, I binge watched David McLachlan's YouTube videos. I went through the 7th edition PMBOK video three times. First for content, second to check any weaknesses, third to review. I also cast the questions to my TV screen and would pause the question before he read it, answer it myself, then watch him go through it. If I saw any videos of areas of weakness he posted I'd go through them. I went through 60 of his agile questions but the rest of the time I was going through the waterfall ones. I can't give you a count. It was a lot. I did the larger question videos too. This helped the most out of anything I did.
I borrowed a lot of exam prep materials from the library but didn't end up opening any of them at all.
Finally I used this subreddit. Whenever I saw someone post a question they didn't know I'd go through it. So thank you all! I paid a lot of attention to what others were using and what I knew would work for me. I also had a friend who took it a few days before me and we would send each other practice questions or talk about it almost daily. It helped keep me accountable and motivated even when I started slacking off.
Maybe I was over confident but I did get sick of studying and just scheduled the exam for a few days later. I didn't feel 100% prepared but I did feel like I was solid enough to have a good chance of passing. Clearly I should have studied more on the business environments part lol.

I'm graduating high school this year and I can't help but feel like I messed up these past couple years preparing for university. I've got an A in every single class since middle school, including 2 years of college classes through running start. I feel smart. But I'm just ending up going to a decent university in my state. A school that accepts 2.5 GPAs on the regular.
I didn't study a lot for SATs, I took mine fall of my senior year and got 1220, which isn't bad, but I feel like I could have got much better if things had worked out differently during high school.
I feel like it all went wrong around my senior year. I homeschooled 8th and 9th grade (while covid and online school was happening), and then I went to a charter school that was terrible for 10th grade. I made good friends but it didn't teach me much, especially in math which is where my SAT score later turned out to be low. My Junior and Senior year I went full time to the local community college through running start.
It wasn't until my Junior year that I started having an idea of what I wanted to do in life, and even then it was loosely. It was the summer before my Senior year that I realized I have to start getting serious about this. I decided I wanted to get into West Point, and I thought I had a good chance. Maybe I did, because I also was well on my way to getting my Eagle Scout. However, I was already late to the game. Most people start applying early in their junior year and many are preparing all throughout high school. Having been a team captain and having varsity rings were very important to the application, and I didn't do any high school sports because I was working part time in high school and partly because I just didn't feel like it.
After realizing West Point probably wasn't gonna happen, I decided to try to go to college off an ROTC scholarship and join the military that way. I considered going out of state and applying to a nicer university, but again, I was very late to do my SAT, my scores were not released until after most Ivy League and even just nice schools' applications had closed. Then, stupidly, I was convinced by my friend to enlist in the Marine Corps. Stupid on many levels, including the fact that there is no major war the US is involved in, so I wouldn't be doing shit, this took a good 4 or 5 months before I realized it was a bad idea. By then, applications to universities were mostly closed and good scholarship were long gone.
So now I'm going to the second best school in my state, without any prestige or high ranking or anything, and I have a total of $8,000 in scholarships. Didn't make the deadline for the ROTC scholarship because I was thinking I was going to enlist in the Marine Corps. My family was going through hard times last year and my dad had to cash out his retirement, which meant he had over $150,000 in taxable income. Meaning I got no grant money.
I've come to the realization that I've fucked up. While I should be able to get a lot of scholarships next year, including the ROTC scholarship, I'll have to take out $20,000 plus in student loans this year. My parents can't afford to contribute.
I also feel a little resentful toward my parents because they haven't helped me out one time throughout this whole process. I have 13 siblings and my sister who is about my age had a baby at 16, so they are plenty busy. But I wish I had someone to help me make a plan to get a good SAT score, get into a good school, and get good scholarships. I feel like most people who had a kid who had a 4.0 their whole life (none of my siblings did) would try really hard to help them get into a good school. Its hard not to be mad at myself and my parents and hate myself for throwing away everything I had going for me.
I have to remember that I am still in a better position than a lot of people, I am graduating with my AA degree my senior year in high school and I did get into a decent college, but man, it sucks.

Then, stupidly, I was convinced by my friend to enlist in the Marine Corps. Stupid on many levels, including the fact that there is no major war the US is involved in, so I wouldn't be doing shit, this took a good 4 or 5 months before I realized it was a bad idea. By then, applications to universities were mostly closed and good scholarship were long gone.
So now I'm going to the second best school in my state, without any prestige or high ranking or anything, and I have a total of $8,000 in scholarships. Didn't make the deadline for the ROTC scholarship because I was thinking I was going to enlist in the Marine Corps. My family was going through hard times last year and my dad had to cash out his retirement, which meant he had over $150,000 in taxable income. Meaning I got no grant money.
I've come to the realization that I've fucked up. While I should be able to get a lot of scholarships next year, including the ROTC scholarship, I'll have to take out $20,000 plus in student loans this year. My parents can't afford to contribute.
I also feel a little resentful toward my parents because they haven't helped me out one time throughout this whole process. I have 13 siblings and my sister who is about my age had a baby at 16, so they are plenty busy. But I wish I had someone to help me make a plan to get a good SAT score, get into a good school, and get good scholarships. I feel like most people who had a kid who had a 4.0 their whole life (none of my siblings did) would try really hard to help them get into a good school. Its hard not to be mad at myself and my parents and hate myself for throwing away everything I had going for me.
I have to remember that I am still in a better position than a lot of people, I am graduating with my AA degree my senior year in high school and I did get into a decent college, but man, it sucks.

It’s a pirate story that takes place in medieval times. The MC is an exiled princess who is invited onto a ship by her childhood best friend, Skylar (Skye for short). It’s basically a multiple LI choice story and I personally think it’s great. As far as I know, the author hasn’t updated it so there’s only 4 chapters out but all of them are pretty long and are really great. It’ll have you craving for more. I haven’t seen any posts or content about this story, and I think it needs more love. Maybe if the story’s given enough attention, the author will decide to update it. What do you guys think?

Ever sit through one of those 40 minute long ads by Whitney Tilson because you wanted to know what the fucking fuck the secret Tesla pr Apple supplier is, only to find that there’s no big reveal at the end? Instead, you’re asked to subscribe to an unaffordable newsletter. (These ads can’t be fast-forwarded!). The thing about these ads is you can figure out who these “secret” companies are, and it’s not hard. When I used to have time, I’d reverse engineer the latest 20-minute Motley Fool ad to discover the secret 5g stock, or the secret EV battery tech that will change the world.
I don’t have time like I used to. During the pandemic, I “worked” at home, which meant I spent my days yoloing into spacs and deconstructing stuff like Motley Fool and Stansberry Research reports for their stock picks. The good news is there are some devoted investors out there who have made it their jobs to take apart ads and reveal secret stocks.
If you’re looking for some plays, here are the results—the revealed stocks—from some recently reverse-engineered ads. The folks who did all this great work are Travis Johnson, who runs a fantastic online magazine called Stock Gumshoe. It is the only magazine I am subscribed to, and have been since 2020. I get a lot—if not most—of my investment ideas from Stock Gumshoe. Every single trade or investment idea that I’ve had from Gumshoe has been successful. Every single one. Every trade I’ve made because of shit I heard on YouTube has been a turd. I’m pumping this magazine because it works.
Alongside of Travis Johnson, we have Dylan Rieger. Just like Johnson, Rieger reverse-engineers ads, but on YouTube. He is prolific. His videos are roughly 10 minutes long, and they’re packed with well-curated information on each of the companies he reveals. If you’re thinking, “Why would I read a web magazine if I could just watch youtube videos?” Rieger’s videos are excellent, but Travis’s writing… he will teach you how to think. “But I don’t need to change the way I think about the market.” If you’re still fucking reading this, then chances are you suck at trading and investing. (I can already feel one or two of you typing, “Actually, ….”)
Below you will find a list of secret stocks that Johnson and Rieger revealed. I’ve listed the author of the newsletter or ad, the title of the article or presentation, the revealed stock, and relevant information. I figured that if I’ve had success this way, you might too. I like my wife’s feet, incidentally. I think they’re pretty.
Let me reiterate—I have been successful when I’ve used these sources as a starting point for a possible trade or investment. I’m a moron, however. I don’t stick with what works. Dylan Jovine. “The New Space Race: 3 AI Stocks for Windfall Gains.” From Behind the Markets newsletter, which is currently listed at $49/yr. This focuses on defense industry AI-powered satellites, particularly speculations about defense contracts with the US Space Force. He teases several stocks, but the primary secret stock is BigBear (BBAI). BigBear has partnerships with Amazon AWS (AMZN), Palantir (PLTR), and L3Harris (LHX). Thousands of Mariupol residents died—from hunger, exhaustion, lack of medicine, Russian shelling, and many under the ruins of houses, schools, and hospitals. The Russians directed air bombs at, among other targets, the maternity hospital and the Drama Theater, where hundreds of civilians were hiding. No wonder the residents of Mariupol say they experienced true hell. For two years, Mariupol has been living under occupation. The Russians are trying to quickly make it Russian—both in appearance and atmosphere. On the sites of destroyed historic buildings, concrete “boxes” are being erected. Russian workers have been brought into hospitals and schools. Rebuilt housing is being sold to Russians. In the city, everyone lives with Russian passports and rubles. Meanwhile, people there still disappear or are detained and convicted on falsified charges. Those who want to leave the city must undergo filtration. Finding anyone who remains in Mariupol and can tell about daily life is difficult—people are afraid to talk. As one of the people who agreed to be interviewed for this article "The city is plagued by fear." Even those who recently left the city are reluctant to talk about life in occupied Mariupol. "When you go to the downtown, you immediately feel the oppression. Everything here is alien and lifeless," she says. "Life in Mariupol hasn't stopped, but it is a life in constant fear." Kateryna stayed in Mariupol due to family circumstances. She agreed to talk with us because she says otherwise, no one will know what is happening in the city, leading to generalizations and distrust towards those who stayed. Moreover, Russian propaganda quickly fills the information vacuum. So, Kateryna chooses to speak: "Is it scary? Of course. But I am careful." Inna (name changed for safety reasons) has left Mariupol. Her aunt remains in the city, but she cannot visit her—Inna's husband serves in the Ukrainian army, which means there is a high chance that she would be detained by Russian services upon entry. Inna describes the atmosphere in the city as "stifling and oppressive." Her best friend remains in Mariupol, taking care of elderly relatives. "He doesn’t tell me everything, of course. There are things you can't say even over the phone in Mariupol," explains Inna. "Men often have their documents and mobile phones checked. If my friend talked to any Ukrainian journalists, the occupiers would quickly find out. Can you imagine what it’s like to live there now?" There weren't even birds. Only stray dogs were dragging human limbs through the streets. "Then people from Russia started coming to Mariupol, and a flurry of construction activity began." Last year, Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boichenko said that during the blockade, the Russians destroyed 50% of the apartment buildings (934 buildings) and damaged over 38,000 private houses. They are now trying to rebuild the city—they have demolished 465 buildings, which had about 33,500 apartments, and have built about 4,600 new apartments. The Iron and Steel Works, where some of Mariupol's defenders held out, has partially resumed operations. "Azovstal" is being dismantled for scrap metal. Valentyna (name changed for safety) did not leave the city. She is already retired. She had two apartments—one in a building with a sea view, and another in a historic building. The latter belonged to her daughter, who left in the early days of the full-scale invasion. Both buildings were damaged by Russian shelling. The building with a sea view was demolished by the occupiers. "There is no hope that it will be rebuilt and that I will be given an apartment there. Now, in Mariupol, apartments are being given to Russians who come to work, or they are being sold. You can also take out a mortgage on an apartment that you had, which was then destroyed and has now been rebuilt. It's nonsense!" exclaims the woman. The building where Valentyna's other apartment was located has been restored. But to keep this property, her daughter would have to come to Mariupol, get a Russian passport, and confirm ownership. This must be done by 2026, as stated in the Russian order. During this time, the owner must pay utility bills; otherwise, the apartment will be declared ownerless. It's not possible to issue a power of attorney to keep the apartment. Inna describes how she tried to issue a power of attorney for her aunt, who stayed in Mariupol: "Notaries in Ukraine made a general power of attorney. Then it went through European countries to Russia, was translated into Russian, and certified by a local notary. But in Mariupol, my aunt was told that only I, and only with a Russian passport, could confirm the ownership." Some buildings in the city are being restored only on the outside—for appearances. Russian propaganda channels are filming stories about these buildings, where realtors show damaged apartments "but in nice buildings and in a good location." "For Russians, Mariupol is a business project. No one thinks about the people or the city's history," says Inna. Mariupol. There are far fewer job openings in Mariupol not related to construction. Jobs, especially in the service sector, are mostly given to women. Men are hired reluctantly, as few in the city believe in exemption from mobilization. Kateryna says her friend and her husband opened a small shop but did not register it with Russian state services: "To avoid revealing data about her husband, because conscription summonses will start arriving." Kateryna herself does not work—"to avoid communicating with Russians." She sold one of her apartments and lives off that money. She recalls how she and a male friend went to villages for groceries to sell at the market in Mariupol: "Then the 'DNR' people stopped us. They beat my friend severely. They took him to the commandant's office. They told him they would throw him in the basement and take the car. I asked, for what? And they said, for tax evasion. What taxes? There's no electricity, water, or food in the city!" In two years, the city has restored electricity and water supply, but everything works intermittently. "The water is of poor quality—from the Staryi Krym reservoir. The communication lines are destroyed, so it is often turned off. The same goes for electricity. Back-up lines were drawn from neighboring settlements, but the capacity is insufficient, and accidents happen constantly," says Anna Murlikina. Education: Empty Schools and Russian NarrativesAccording to Human Rights Watch, during the siege of the city, the Russians damaged 86 out of 89 educational institution buildings, including all 15 trade schools, colleges and universities. "The Russians are building kindergartens and schools, but most of them are half-empty because there aren't enough kids" says Kateryna. "There's also a problem with teachers; they are being brought in from Russia."Schools in Mariupol have switched to the Russian language and curriculum. Russia is printing guidelines for them—instructions on "patriotic" upbringing and Russian historical narratives: the princes of Kyivan Rus were "Russian figures," the Russian Federation fights against "Ukrainian Nazis," and Ukraine is a "project of foreign intelligence services." Russian youth organizations and museums are being created in schools to "correctly tell the history of Russia and the Donetsk region." Kateryna recalls May 9—on that day, she says, Mariupol schools held performances with children dressed as Soviet soldiers with St. George ribbons. There are isolated cases where Mariupol children still study online in Ukrainian schools. But this is risky, according to our protagonists. One of them notes that staying in the occupation with children is a crime because "in a few years, they will already be Russian children." Others require certifications prior to being hired. A good place to start is researching the department(s) you want to join. Visit their website, check their requirements, and/or stop into one of their fire stations to ask some questions.
- Am I too old: Many departments, typically career municipal ones, have an age limit. Volunteer departments usually don't. Check each department's requirements.
- I'm in high school, What can I do: Does your local department have an explorer's program or post? If so, join up. Otherwise, focus on your grades, get in shape and stay in shape, and most importantly: stay out of trouble.

Many conditions require the input of a medical professional to determine if they are disqualifying. See this post... PSA: Don't disqualify yourself, make THEM tell you "no".
- What will increase my chances of getting hired: If there's a civil service exam, study for it! There are many guides online that will help you go over all those things you forgot such as basic math and reading. Some cities even give you a study guide. If it's a firefighter exam, study for it! For the CPAT (Physical Fitness Test), cardio is arguably the most important factor. If you're going to the gym for the first time during the hiring process, you're fighting an uphill battle. Get in shape and stay in shape. Most cities offer preference points to military veterans.
- How do I prepare for an interview: Interviews can be one-on-one, or in front of a board/panel. Many generic guides exist to help one prepare for an interview, however here are a few good tips:
- Dress appropriately. Business casual at a minimum (Button down, tucked in long sleeve shirt with slacks and a belt, and dress shoes). Get a decent haircut and shave.
- Practice interview questions with a friend. You can't accurately predict the off-the-wall questions they will ask, but you can practice the ones you know they probably will, like why do you want to be a Firefighter, or why should we hire you?
- Scrub your social media. Gone are the days when people in charge weren't tech-savvy. Don't have a perfect interview only for your chances of being hired gone to zero because your Facebook or Instagram has pictures of you getting blitzed. Set that stuff to private and leave it that way.

This is SO long and rambly, I'm reading it over and I already dislike it, I think I'm very superficial in this. But if you want to, I'd luv if you'd skim it or read the end questions to see if you have any answers.
He's just a friend. We met online when I was 17 and he was 16 and we were just friends for the next four years but then all of a sudden last year I got a crush on him out of nowhere and it just progressed into this Thing, this devotion. I used to care a normal amount and we would have meaningful conversations and it just worked. And then when he became my favorite person, it turned into torture. When he talked to me it was euphoria, but when he didn't respond I would sob and cut myself. He's the only thing I think about, every day I have conversations with him in my head just to feel comforted. He's a good friend and he has said he cares about me in the past but I feel him gradually getting farther and farther away because his band is taking off and he's getting more friends and confidence and awareness and wisdom and I'm not growing at all. I can't. He sees that. He's repulsed by my depression, even though when I met him he was severely depressed, and he seems to dislike me and the worst part is that I told him I liked him last summer and he asked me to send him pictures of myself naked. And I did it and I felt so happy and I kept doing it over and over again whenever he asked, even though I knew he didn't care about me. He even said so. I asked how he felt about me liking him and he said he didn't feel anything at all and he didn't care either way. And then last month, we hooked up, and I was so nervous and excited, I felt like I was on coke, and it was good and I felt happy. But he has other options and opportunities, and things that make him happy, and my main thing is him. I need to pull myself out of the mud and let him go, because he's onto better things. And I need to fill my life with projects and things that I'm passionate about, and I know that, but all I want is him. It stings that he has so many friends, because I get jealous of people that have friends. I used to have a whole network of friends that I loved very very much, and then I went through psychosis and became the crazy girl and everyone disowned me. And I noticed that some of his new friends are in the same group as the people who disowned me. All I can think about is him befriending them and leaving me behind. The ones who think I'm a total freak loser. And the thing is those people label themselves as freaks, they're alt and different and outcasts and I don't even fit in with them, I'm stiff and depressed and awkward now and nothing like how I was and I don't know if I can ever be that person again. I feel like a total loser, I feel like I'm totally broken and I don't have a chance of ever talking to him again. And I know he's said he gets worried about me, which might mean he cares, he said that right before we hooked up last month, but it just seems like he's on his way out and I have to be strong and say goodbye and all I want to do is text him but I don't know what I would say or if it would bother him, and I'm trying to figure out with online tarot cards how he sees me and they all show me images of people that look repulsive. Should I just text him, because nothing concrete has happened at all between us, other than him leaving me on read a couple times? How do you guys deal with saying goodbye to your FP and what do you do to cope with it? I'm going back and forth between he's fine with me and he's repulsed by me, do you have any coping skills for this? Or coping skills for anything else I mentioned? I feel very vulnerable right now, I have total tunnel vision emotionally right now, and I'm aware I sound superficial but I'm pretty damn scattered rn, anyway I would absolutely love some other bpd ppl to share. The Wall of Sheep would like to announce a call for presentations at DEF CON 32 in Las Vegas, NV from Thursday, August 8th to Sunday, August 11th. Packet Hacking Village Talks goal is to deliver talks that increase security awareness and provide skills that can be immediately applied after the conference. Our audience ranges from those who are new to security to the most seasoned practitioners in the security industry. We are accepting submissions from individuals and organizations on any of the topic areas, including, but not limited to, the following technologies and applications:
The Wall of Sheep will not accept product or vendor related pitches. If your talk is a thinly-veiled advertisement for a product or service your company is offering, please do not apply! We will also not accept talks that have been given elsewhere, including at DEF CON / Black Hat / BSides.

The Wall of Sheep would like to announce a call for presentations at DEF CON 32 in Las Vegas, NV from Thursday, August 8th to Sunday, August 11th. Packet Hacking Village Talks goal is to deliver talks that increase security awareness and provide skills that can be immediately applied after the conference. Our audience ranges from those who are new to security to the most seasoned practitioners in the security industry. We are accepting submissions from individuals and organizations on any of the topic areas, including, but not limited to, the following technologies and applications:
- AI and Machine Learning in Security: Impacts on network and operating system security; use in deploying and defending networks.
- Awareness: Security awareness program success and failure stories.
- Cloud Security: Hacks and tricks for assessing and testing services.
- Compliance: How to use regulatory compliance requirements in your favor to enhance your overall funding and security posture.
- Networking and Cybersecurity: The latest hacks, trends and technologies in networking and cybersecurity.
- Spy-level makeup art (e.g., wigs, prosthetic noses, etc.)
- Supply Chain Security: Building security into the supply chain process to reduce risk.
- Threat Defense: Advanced techniques for defending networks, systems, and services from cyberthreats.

Each presentation slot is 1 hour maximum, including time for Q&A. If we have time and it is in line with our goals mentioned above, then there is a good chance you will be selected.
Presentations will be part of DEF CON's new "Creator Stages". Although presenters will not receive a DEF CON speaker badge, they will receive a human badge and additional identification as village speakers. Presentations will also be recorded and shared on DEF CON's media servers and YouTube. Additionally, we do not recommend live demos. Pre-recorded demos are preferred.

I'm gonna be pretty vauge for OPSEC reasons, but I am currently an undegraduate engineering student and a soldier in my state's national guard. I just got told like three days ago by my leadershIp that I am being pulled to go on a deployment to Iraq and JRTC in the next couple months as I am in a low dencity MOS. Personally I'm pretty young, have no depedents, and still live at home with no debt.
I already spoke to the MOB representitive and theres no way I can get out of this deployment sense they need people in my MOS and I'm a lowely lower enlisted. I can still finish a large portion of my degree online by taking maybe 4-8 credits a term online, but I am wondering if this is possible or even doable in 2024? I was told that there's a chance I could get out of JRTC if I really wanted too. The main thing is I don't want to take a year of my degree to go sit around in a hot desert and do nothing for 12 months, so I would really like to at least take one two classes part time.
Any adivce or personal experiences with this will be super hepful, sorry for being pretty vauge as I don't want to disclose too much.

I graduated from High School today. Everybody else has all the friends, acquaintances, etc to celebrate with on this night. I have nothing. I do have a caring family but I don't have other people. I was always the one to get bullied for how I look and how much I weighed. I have talked with people online and had tons of good conversations with them but when they find out how I look like they lose interest in being my friend.
I am not sad, depressed, or feeling bad about myself because of this issue. I feel angry because I was never given the chance to be free and talk with people open-minded without thinking "What do they think of my appearance?".
I do blame myself for my past actions since my heaviest was 320lbs and I am now 180lbs. I came a long way to make myself better but I still see myself as that ugly, disgusting blob that I once was. I thought that me losing 140lbs would change things but things never change.
