It’s no secret that governments and “the powers that be” will do anything to make sure the public never learns the truth about aliens and extraterrestrials. The release of extraterrestrial technology, such as anti-gravity propulsion, magnetic propulsion, and Zero Point energy will have a world-altering impact on who controls the world’s money, power, militaries, and governments. In essence, if alien technology got out to the public, the entire system and structure of the world as we know it, would change drastically overnight.
One of the biggest reasons why the public will never learn the truth about the existence of aliens and extraterrestrials is the catastrophic economic impact that it would have. If alien antigravity propulsion, magnetic propulsion, and Zero Point energy were released to the public, you could say goodbye to:
Rockets, Satellites, Airplanes, Jets, Military Planes, Helicopters: Goodbye NASA, SpaceX, Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop Grumman, Blue Origin, SES S.A, Iridium Communications, Sikorsky Aircraft, Bell Helicopter, Rocket Lab, Virgin Galactic, Airbus, Raytheon Technologies, Aerojet Rocketdyne, Thales Alenia Space, Arianespace, Honeywell Aerospace.
Say goodbye to American Airlines, Delta, United, Southwest, Jetblue, Lufthansa, Air France, British Airways, Air Canada, Emirates, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Turkish Airlines, Ryanair, EasyJet, Aeroflot and many many more.
And don’t forget every airport in the world would no longer be needed and all the people they employ will end up jobless.
Cars, SUVs, Trucks, Motorcycles, Trailers, Tractors: Say goodbye to Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, Chevrolet, Honda, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Fiat Chrysler, Subaru, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Land Rover, Jaguar, Volvo, General Motors, Porsche, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, Triumph, Indian Motorcycle, Caterpillar, John Deere, Massey Ferguson, New Holland, Kubota, Case IH.

And don’t forget every gas station in the world that pumps fossil fuels and profits off it. Also, all the companies that make money off of drilling, Petroleum services, maintenance, and equipment.
All of the Insurance Companies that would go bust: Goodbye Allianz, AXA, MetLife, Prudential Financial, AIG (American International Group), New York Life Insurance, Northwestern Mutual, MassMutual, Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, Chubb Limited, Legal & General Group, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, Farmers Insurance Group, USAA, Zurich Insurance Group, Berkshire Hathaway (includes GEICO), State Farm Insurance, Liberty Mutual, Progressive Corporation, Munich Re, Swiss Re, Tokio Marine Group, The Hartford, Travelers Companies, Aviva, Sun Life Financial, Manulife Financial, Erie Insurance Group, Lloyd’s of London.

After looking at the lists above, it should be very clear just how impactful alien technology would be on our world. These lists should also help you understand why alien and extraterrestrial technology recovered from UFOs is kept such a secret — it would change everything!
Sadly, our world and economies revolve around power, control, and greed. But it doesn’t have to be this way! The way we live on fossil fuels, traditional sources of energy, and our ways of transportation are all about making money.
Unfortunately, that money has been sucked up by the “powers that be” with the help of governments and religion who create a trifecta that keeps the rest of us in the dark and busting our butts for scraps. They will never relinquish their power. They will continue to do everything they can to keep the rest of us fooled, misled, lied to, and oblivious to the truth!
The only way to beat them is to keep fighting for the truth and demanding it! Our world does not have to be the money-driven, power-hungry, greedy, and selfish place that is. We can change, and one day, I believe we will. But first, we must do everything we can to ensure that the existence of aliens and extraterrestrial technology is disclosed to the world NOW!
HERE’S THE TRUTH: WE DON’T NEED FOSSIL FUELS, GAS, OIL, CARS, ROCKETS, SHIPS, PLANES, JETS, OR TRADITIONAL ELECTRICITY WHEN ZERO-POINT ENERGY, ANTIGRAVITY, AND MAGNETIC PROPULSION CURRENTLY EXIST!
Now is the time for a shift! Our way of life is no longer sustainable! The only way we will evolve as a species without destroying ourselves and the planet is for the truth the come out! We must hope that the people of our world learn what’s going on behind our backs before it’s too late. The unsustainable and destructive path that we are on will not last much longer. We must act soon because our time on this planet is quickly running out…
Help get the word out! Feel free to share the article link below, which contains all the information mentioned above and much more about why disclosing aliens and alien technology is going to be a very very difficult task. https://medium.com/@chrismanhattan/ufo-disclosure-alien-technology-will-destroy-world-economies-religion-and-the-powers-that-be-d1354432cb16

2021.09.26 18:44 TheanosLearning WSJ: Bitcoin Miners Eye Nuclear Power as Environmental Criticism Mounts

Bitcoin Miners Eye Nuclear Power as Environmental Criticism Mounts Some cryptocurrency miners are striking deals with operators of struggling nuclear plants, which are carbon-free and have excess power capacity to spare
By Jennifer Hiller - WSJ
Bitcoin miners, under fire for their sizable environmental footprint, are forging partnerships with owners of struggling nuclear-power plants with electricity to spare. The matchups have the potential to solve key issues facing each industry, executives and analysts say: Electricity-hungry bitcoin miners want stable and carbon-free power, while nuclear plants facing competition from cheaper power sources need new customers. Talen Energy Corp. has entered into a joint venture with bitcoin-mining company TeraWulf Inc., which has started land development for a mining facility the size of four football fields next to its Pennsylvania nuclear plant. Nuclear generator Energy Harbor Corp. will provide power to a Standard Power mining center in Ohio starting in December. “We are building demand adjacent to the existing nuclear plant,” said Talen Energy President Alex Hernandez, who heads the subsidiary jointly developing the mining project near the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station.
New nuclear projects are eyeing cryptocurrency miners as well: Startup Oklo Inc., which plans to build a small-scale fission power plant that can run on used nuclear fuel, has signed a 20-year supply deal with hardware and hosting firm Compass Mining. “Both industry’s challenges are the other industry’s positives,” said Sean Lawrie, partner at consulting firm ScottMadden Inc. Mining bitcoin is an energy-intensive process. To unlock more of the currency, miners must solve mathematical puzzles that become increasingly complex, which means they require more computing power—and electricity. Mining a decade ago required only a person with a PC, but rising bitcoin prices and a limited supply have created a race. The way to boost the odds of figuring out the puzzle is to put more machines to work. “At the core of bitcoin mining is energy and energy infrastructure,” said Paul Prager, chief executive of TeraWulf. The rise of vast mining operations has fueled criticism from environmentalists and others that growing use of fossil-fuel electricity for cryptocurrency could waste resources and worsen climate change. A tweet from Tesla Inc. Chief Executive Elon Musk expressing concern over the environmental impact of mining operations briefly caused bitcoin prices to fall in May. Nuclear power, meanwhile, has lost public favor in the wake of accidents such as Japan’s 2011 Fukushima disaster and has struggled to compete economically in the U.S. Nuclear plants provide a steady source of emissions-free power, but like coal-fired power plants, many face a daunting challenge selling their output in wholesale power markets amid stiff competition from wind and solar power—and natural-gas generation, which became cheaper after the fracking boom led to huge new discoveries of the fuel.
“They’re still making money because they’re still running, but it’s very hard for them in the current power markets to recover a fair return on their maintenance investments,” said Travis Miller, energy and utilities strategist for Morningstar. Numerous nuclear plants have been retired in the U.S. in recent years, including the Indian Point facility outside of New York City formerly owned by Entergy Corp. With retirements likely to outpace new projects, nuclear is poised to decrease in the U.S. electricity mix in coming years, according to the Energy Information Administration. Exelon Corp. EXC -0.83%▲ in June said that it would shut two of three Illinois nuclear plants that failed to sell their electricity during the most recent wholesale power auction for PJM Interconnection, which operates a market serving 13 states and Washington, D.C. That led state lawmakers to approve a bailout this month to keep the plants running. Talen’s Susquehanna plant also had fewer megawatts clear the same PJM auction than the previous one in 2018. The outlook for Talen subsidiary Talen Energy Supply LLC was revised to negative by Fitch Ratings and Moody’s Investors Service. The upshot will be a decline in auction revenue of $209 million over 2022 and 2023, according to Fitch.
Cryptocurrency miners in China are turning off their machines after Beijing warned it would tighten its control over the industry. This has created an opportunity for miners elsewhere, as the power behind crypto becomes less dependent on one place. Photo illustration: Sharon Shi “We find ourselves in a place where the power markets continue to be oversupplied, and in general with a few exceptions, pretty weak,” said Mr. Hernandez, Talen’s president. The company sees the bitcoin facility as key in building out a carbon-free digital infrastructure business, he added. It also plans a data center next to Susquehanna, and on Tuesday said it had secured another $175 million in capital for the projects.
While more nuclear-bitcoin tie-ups are expected, they aren’t likely to be large enough or happen quickly enough to save nuclear plants teetering on the edge of closure, said Bill Dugan, a director at Customized Energy Solutions, an energy advisory firm. “It would have to be a lot of them aggregated together,” Mr. Dugan said. For bitcoin miners, the partnerships allow them to promote projects as having an environmentally friendly source of power. “That was a big differentiator for us,” said Maxim Serezhin, chief executive at Standard Power, which is building a nuclear-powered bitcoin-mining facility at a former paper mill in Coshocton, Ohio. Standard Power’s formal name is 500 N 4th Street LLC. Energy Harbor declined to comment and referred questions to Mr. Serezhin.
The Compass Mining deal with startup Oklo doesn’t include a set price for power, but Whit Gibbs, chief executive of Compass, said he is confident that the companies will agree on a price that allows for profitable cryptocurrency mining. Jacob DeWitte, co-founder and chief executive at Oklo, said he had received inquiries from other bitcoin miners interested in the company’s 1.5-megawatt project using small modular reactors. It still needs federal approval, however, and isn’t likely to happen until sometime between 2023 and 2025, he said. In Miami, Mayor Francis Suarez has been touting his hometown as a destination for cryptocurrency miners, exchanges and investment firms. Part of his pitch includes the nearby nuclear-power plant owned by Florida Power & Light Co., a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Inc. NEE -0.70%▲ Many environmental, social and governance, or ESG, concerns about bitcoin mining “come from the fact that a lot of the mining was being done in coal-producing countries,” said Mr. Suarez. Talks with Florida Power & Light officials have included whether mining facilities might be located near the nuclear plant, and challenges such as the lack of cheap land to build big warehouses for mining gear, Mr. Suarez said.
Florida Power & Light declined to comment on the discussions, but spokesman Bill Orlove said South Florida has become a relocation destination for the tech industry. “We look forward to supporting the continued innovation and growth those companies bring,” Mr. Orlove said.

2021.03.18 05:03 softwaredev Anyone Interested in Helping Analyze The Exelon Spin Off?

Hi Everyone,
so about a month ago Micheal Burry tweeted that he recommended the book You Can Be a Stock Market Genius by Joel Greenblatt. I read it and if I was asked to summarize it I would say: When companies spin off, it can be because the owners believe one part of the company is not getting the market value from investors it deserves. When the spin off happens, investors that, unwillingly, received shares from the least desirable of the two businesses will sell and so the share price could drop below its true worth. If you can figure out the worth of each company before the spin-off, and which company stands to benefit from it, you can make a lot of money.
So, I'm making this post in the hopes that whomever is interested will comment will below with anything they have that can help figure out the value of the Exelon spin-off.
Exelon (ticket EXC), is splitting into two companies: Exelon Utilities, and Exelon Power Generation.
Exelon Utilities is composed of these subcompanies:
After reading this document from Exelon https://investors.exeloncorp.com/static-files/64959e19-f0ff-41e1-af82-92607f5b544d and this presentation https://investors.exeloncorp.com/static-files/2dda3a5d-b5c9-40d6-829f-da5c2efd6cc9 it reads to me like the board of directors believe that the utilities company is not receiving the market cap value it deserves i.e. after the spin-off the power generation business (least desirable) will be the one sold off (current share holders will get one share of this company for every share they currently hold of exelon, the ones who don't like to be in that business will sell, and the ones who don't know wtf is going on will panic sell), and the utilities company will surge once investors figure out its value.
So, that's where I'm at right now, and it's time to do the hard part of figuring out how much each portion of the business is worth, I'll post anything I find here if I see there's interest in it.

2021.03.08 05:59 Talking-Breads Am I the only who thinks that more utilities in the United States should be investigated for lying about subsidies and paying politicians to pass them? These lies create distrust for nuclear energy and also scam customers millions of dollars just to line the pockets of millionaires.

In Ohio, the new utility that owns Davis-Besse and Perry, Energy Harbor, has recently declined subsidies that the previous utility that owned it, Firstenergy, wanted (https://www.ans.org/news/article-2616/energy-harbor-may-decline-ohio-plant-subsidies/). The thing is, Firstenergy paid senators of the Ohio senate to pass the subsidy bill for subsidies it never needed, which is classical corruption. However, Firstenergy was doing exactly what Exelon was doing in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, it's just that Firstenergy got caught. For example, the Salem and Hope Creek nuclear power plants in New Jersey got bailed out with 300 Million dollars from New Jersey taxpayers due to what Exelon and PSEG claimed was competition from natural gas, in spite of multiple independent reports revealing otherwise (https://www.propublica.org/article/new-jerseys-300-million-nuclear-power-bailout-is-facing-a-court-challenge-does-it-have-a-chance, https://pressofatlanticcity.com/news/local/ratepayer-counsel-says-pseg-doesnt-need-subsidies-to-keep-nuke-plants-open/article_3c614240-ffb4-5993-b5a1-e60abe441b99.html). Or in Pennsylvania, where 9 billion dollars were granted to Exelon to keep their 4 plants, Three Mile Island, Peach Bottom, Limerick, and Susquehanna running (Even though they were doing fine economically) , and even with these subsidies, they ended up shutting down Three Mile Island anyways (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVMqYM5jLdY, and yes, I get Mark is kind of wrong on some things, especially natural gas and coal, but he's right in this one). And this kind of bs is exactly what fuels people's distrust towards nuclear economically. Economically, it's the cheapest sources of energy and receives way less subsidies and tax credits compared to every other energy source, but what these utilities are doing is in essence damaging the reputation of nuclear energy. Even when you realize that nuclear utilities elsewhere rarely beg for subsidies, the average American only reads headlines and assumes that the plants near them or other plants are also either doing or planning on doing the same thing, which creates an anti-nuclear attitude in the general public and further encourages politicians to go against possible new-builds. Sorry for the long rant, but does anyone else feel this way?

2019.04.28 16:49 BloodyJourno [OC] Politicians Killing the Planet

So realestnwah posted this article to /LateStageCapitalism and it caught my eye. I decided that there has to be a reason that all of these politicians are denying climate change or the human cause of it, so what was it? Well, we already know, don’t we? So I went to OpenSecrets and I started hunting down contributions from companies who stand to lose something if the government intervenes to help stop climate change. I sorted by career contributions. This is gonna be long.
Alabama
Richard Shelby's first and third all time contributors are Southern Co., a gas and energy company, and Drummond Company, a coal mining company.
Robert Aderholt also has those two companies in his top four.
Mo Brooks seems to be clean from a energy-company-finance-backing standpoint.
Gary Palmer has Southern Co as his fourth largest donor.
Alaska
Dan Sullivan's fifth largest contributor is the Koch brothers.
Don Young's largest contributor is VECO Corporation, an oil pipeline service.
Arizona
Andy Biggs' largest donor is Club for Growth, a conservative organization that advocates against government intervention to curb greenhouse gas emissions.
Paul Gosar's third largest contributor is Pinnacle West Capital, a holding company that owns two energy companies: Arizona Public Service and Bright Canyon Energy.
Debbie Lesko's second largest contributor is Pinncale West Capital and her fifth largest is the Koch brothers.
David Schweikert has Koch Industries in his top ten and has received tens of thousands from Salt River Project, an energy firm.
Arkansas
Tom Cotton has Club for Growth has his top donor and Murphy Oil in his top eight.
John Boozman has received $29,000 from National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
Rick Crawford has received $26,000 from National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
Bruce Westerman has Murphy Oil at #2 and Koch Industries at #11.
Steve Womack has also been hit up by National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, for the tune of $34,500.
California (Goddammit, you're supposed to be an American bastion of progressive values. The fuck, home state?)
Duncan Hunter's top donor is General Atomics, an, among other things, energy company. Although they mainly deal in nuclear energy, so they should be pushing for renewables. Plus Duncan just denies that climate change is man-made, not that it isn't happening, so who the fuck knows.
Doug LaMalfa rakes it in from California Dairies Inc, National Cattleman's Beef Association and Pacific Gas & Electric.

Thanks for reading all of this. Some personal notes: this shit is seriously disgusting. It's really enraging how little it takes to buy someone off to help destroy the world. Of the 131 politicians from the article, there were only five I couldn’t find financial conflicts with. That’s 96% of these people, upon even the most cursory of glances, that have been proven to prioritize money over the health of the Earth. I can’t stress this enough: Fuck. Them.
I left off airline companies and (for the most part) chemical companies who produce plastics. I don't know why I did this and I'm not gonna go back and change it now. But if you're clicking through the links, keep that in mind, too.
I've only used the one source, but OpenSecrets is widely used by reputable sources to find campaign contribution information. They are quite transparent with their methodology on their site.
All those repeat companies are absolutely not a coincidence. These are the types of conspiracy theories that people should be worried about.
I just went with obvious companies who stand to lose something from government intervention to combat climate change. I definitely didn't look up every company that was on a rep's page. If you find additional things you think I should add, let me know.
If you catch any errors I've made or think I need to take off certain companies, let me know and we can talk about it.
Again, thanks for reading. And fucking VOTE.

2019.04.28 16:33 BloodyJourno [OC] Politicians Killing the Planet

So realestnwah posted this article to /LateStageCapitalism and it caught my eye. I decided that there has to be a reason that all of these politicians are denying climate change or the human cause of it, so what was it? Well, we already know, don’t we? So I went to OpenSecrets and I started hunting down contributions from companies who stand to lose something if the government intervenes to help stop climate change. I sorted by career contributions. This is gonna be long.
Alabama
Richard Shelby's first and third all time contributors are Southern Co., a gas and energy company, and Drummond Company, a coal mining company.

2019.04.28 16:20 BloodyJourno [OC] Politicians Killing the Planet

Tom McClintock gets money from Occidental Petroleum, Valero Energy, Vaquero Energy and the Koch brothers.
Devin Nunes is just a piece of shit in general, but he also gets big bucks from California Dairies Inc, Edison, the Koch bros and Chevron.
Colorado
Cory Gardner gets almost six figures from Club for Growth, as well as major contributions from Anadarko Petroleum, the Koch cocks, Noble Energy, Xcel Energy and the National Cattleman's Beef Association.
Ken Buck gets bucks from Club for Growth, Kochs, Cade Oil & Gas and our old pal mother fucking Haliburton.
Doug Lamborn gets money from the Koch brothers as well as the National Mining Association and Exxon Mobil.
Scott Tipton's political tips from SG Interests, an oil and natural gas company, the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association as well as the cock tips of the Koch brothers.
Florida
Marco Rubio. Do I really need to look this one up? Yes, because he ain't special and fuck him. Well, I guess Club for Growth thinks he's special because they've given him ~$700,000. He's also received big bucks from Nextera Energy.
Info on Neal Dunn shows he gets a bunch of money from doctor's organizations and a bunch of money from beer companies. So maybe he's just hypocritical.
Bill Posey also doesn't appear to have any financial conflicts based on my admittedly shallow research.
Ted Yoho is linked to the National Cattleman's Beef Association, the Koch brothers and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
John Rutherford doesn't appear to have any direct financial conflicts concerning climate change, but he does receive funds from Prosperity Action, which is a PAC chaired by Paul Ryan, so fuck that guy. And extra fuck Paul Ryan.
Mario Diaz-Balart gets a hefty contribution from NextEra Energy.
Georgia
David Perdue gets big money from Club for Growth, Southern Co, the Koch brothers and Alliant Energy.
Richard Allen receives ~$20,000 from Southern Co.
Jody Hice has Georgia Power as a major donor, but he's also received money from a solar power corporation, although a bit more from Georgia Power.
Johnny Isakson has received six figures plus from Southern Co.
Barry Loudermilk gets big bucks from Club for Growth, Georgia Power and the Koch brothers.
Austin Scott gets large donations from Georgia Power, National Cattleman's Beef Association and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
Idaho
Mike Simpson gets money from IDACORP, an electricity holding company, as well as General Atomics, Agri Beef and National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
Russ Fulcher gets hooked up from Club for Growth, Agri Beef, Koch Industries and IDACORP.
Illinois
Mike Bost gets paid by Exelon Corp, an energy company, Knight Hawk Coal and Koch Industries.
Rodney Davis has backers including McDonald's (arguably holds an interest in not seeing the reduction of beef consumption), Exelon, National Cattleman's Beef Association and Exxon Mobil.
John Shimkus gets major money from Exelon, Ameren Corp, a power company and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
Darin LaHood receives payments from Marquis Energy and Exelon Corp.
Indiana
Todd Young has received $86,000 from Club for Growth.
Jim Banks' largest donor is Club for Growth.
Larry Bucshon receives major donations from Vectren Corp, a large energy holding firm, as well as Koch Enterprises and Peabody Energy.
Iowa
Chuck Grassley gets a lot of money from Nextera Energy.
Joni Ernst receives contributions from Ford Motor Co and Beef Products Inc.
Steve King, this fucking racist, has received near $300,000 from Club for Growth, because of fucking course he has. Also gets a bundle from Koch Industries.
Kansas
Pat Roberts has made a lot of money from the Koch brothers as well as the National Cattleman's Beef Association.
Kentucky
The moment you've all been waiting for: Mitch McTurtle. Peabody Energy and General Electric (which is kind of a push maybe). I'm sure there's more, but I can hardly stand to even seen this reptile's name on my screen, so I stopped looking.
Rand Paul: Club for Growth (seriously fuck this organization), Murray Energy and Koch Industries.
James Comer seems cleanish, minus $12,500 from Ford Motor Co.
Thomas Massie is buddies with Club for Growth, Marathon Petroleum and Koch Industries.
Louisiana
Bill Cassidy's second largest donor is Cajun Industries, which manufacturers materials for Exxon and other oil companies, and also receives money from Koch Industries and Hise Co, an oil company headquartered in Louisiana.
Clay Higgins is new to the game but his second largest donor is Harvey Gulf, a marine transportation company that services deep-water operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Their fleet is actually full of badass looking ships with helicopter landing pads attached to the bow and shit, but their biggest clients are oil companies. He also gets money directly from Cox Oil.
Steve Scalise has Edison Chouset Offshore as his second largest donor. Like Harvey Gulf, they're also a marine transport company that caters mainly to oil companies. In fact, many politicians in the list before this have received money from them, but I neglected to add those. Scalise also gets money from Entergy Corp, Koch Industries and Cajun Industries.
Maryland
Andy Harris gets major money from Club for Growth and Koch Industries.
Michigan
Justin Amash is also a member of shittiest club around, Club for Growth. In addition he gets funds from Wolverine Gas & Oil and Koch Industries.
Bill Huizenga gets major contributions from CMS Energy and DTE Energy.
John Moolenaar also receives money from CMS Energy and DTE Energy, as well as General Motors, Ford Motor Co and our old friend National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
Fred Upton has made some major bucks from Ford Motor Co, DTE Energy, CMS Energy, Energy Transfer Equity, General Motors, National Auto Dealers Association and Automotive Free International Trade PAC.
Tim Walberg: Club for Growth, CMS Energy, DTE Energy, Ford Motor Co, Koch Industries and General Motors.
Minnesota
Tom Emmer gets tens of thousands from Land O'Lakes, which might be a stretch, but they deal pretty heavily in dairy. I might be convinced to take this one off the list. Other than that he appears clean.
Collin Peterson. The only Democrat on this list, this dude is all about the farmers. Dairy Farmers of America, Associated Milk Producers, Land O'Lakes and Koch Industries.
Mississippi
Roger Wicker gets donations from Ergon Inc, a petroleum company, as well as General Atomics, Entergy Corp and Southern Co.
Cindy Hyde-Smith, of front row public hanging fame, apparently won't make statements on climate change one way or the other, but she takes money from General Atomics, Ergon Inc, National Cattleman's Beef Association and Marathon Petroleum.
Missouri
Roy Blunt gets paid by Emerson Electric, Monsanto Co, General Electric, Peabody Energy and Dairy Farmers of America.
Vicky Hartzler gets money from National Auto Dealers Association, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, Ameren Corp and Colt Energy.
Blaine Luetkemeyer: National Auto Dealers Association, Ameren Corp and National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
Jason Smith gets paid by National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, Emerson Electric, Ameren Corp and National Auto Dealers Association.
Ann Wagner's donors include Peabody Energy, Emerson Electric, Ameren Corp and Monsanto Co.
Montana
Steve Daines receives donations from Koch Industries, Nance Petroleum and Cloud Peak Energy Resources.
Nebraska
Deb Fischer is hooked up by Tenaska Inc, a power company, and National Cattlemen's Beef Association.
Don Bacon receives donations from Tenaska Inc, Emerson Electric and National Cattlemen's Beef Association.
Adrian Smith's largest donor by far is Club for Growth, followed by National Cattlemen's Beef Association, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and National Auto Dealers Association.
Nevada
Mark Amodei gets contributions from Barrick Gold, the largest gold mining company in the world, Newmont Mining, National Mining Association and National Auto Dealers Association.
New York
Lee Zeldin gets money from Koch Industries. He's one of the handful on this list with a League of Conservation Voters score in the double digits.
North Carolina
Thom Tillis takes money from Club for Growth.
Ted Budd's largest donor by far is Club for Growth.
Virginia Foxx takes money from National Auto Dealers Association, Duke Energy and Pike Electric.
Mark Meadows takes money from Koch Industries, National Auto Dealers Association, Club for Growth and Duke Energy.
David Rouzer is backed by North Carolina Farm Bureau and National Cattlemen's Beef Association.
Mark Walker gets donations from National Auto Dealers Association.
North Dakota
Kevin Cramer is all up in that conflict money, holy shit. Energy Transfer Equity, Oasis Petroleum, Select Energy Services, MBI Energy Services, Koch Industries, Cody Oil & Gas, Marathon Oil, Lignite Energy Council, Alliance Coal, Devon Energy and National Auto Dealers Association. No wonder he hated the Paris agreement.
John Hoeven isn't much cleaner. Murray Energy, NextEra Energy, Edison Chouset Offshore, Xcel Energy, MBI Energy Services and Devon Energy.
North Dakota is one of the most beautiful states we have, too. What the fuck guys. Get your greedy shit together.
Ohio
Rob Portman seems clean financially, with one minor exception. KKR & Co invests in energy.
Steve Chabot gets paid by United Dairy Farmers and National Auto Dealers Association.
Bob Gibbs' donors include American Electric Power, Murray Energy, FirstEnergy Corp, National Auto Dealers Association, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, Marathon Petroleum and Ohio Farm Bureau.
Bill Johnson takes money from Murray Energy, National Auto Dealers Association, American Electric Power, National Mining Association, FirstEnergy Corp, Koch Industries and Chesapeake Energy.
Warren Davidson takes from Club for Growth and National Auto Dealers Association.
Oklahoma
Probably the most famous of these deniers is Jim Inhofe. He's the guy who threw the snowball in Congress to own the libs. I wonder if he got that idea from any of these backers: Koch Industries, Murray Energy, Devon Energy, Exxon Mobil, OGE Energy or Chevron.
James Lankford's top four are Devon Energy, OGE Energy, Koch Industries and Chesapeake Energy, as well as taking money from Energy Transfer Equity, Exxon Mobil and Ward Petroleum.
Kevin Hern has been hit up by McDonald's, National Cattlemen's Beef Association, Devon Energy, NGL Energy Partners, Corterra Energy and Koch Industries.
Pennsylvania
Pat Toomey has taken in a whopping $1.2 million from Club for Growth, in addition to Exelon Corp.
Scott Perry gets paid by Club for Growth, National Auto Dealers Association, Koch Industries, Exelon Corp, FirstEnergy Corp and Shipley Energy.
Glenn Thompson takes from Kriebel Group, a natural gas company, as well as National Auto Dealers Association, FirstEnergy Corp, National Fuel Gas Co, American Refining Group and National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
South Carolina
Jeff Duncan is buddies with Club for Growth, Duke Energy, Koch Industries, Petroleum Marketers Association and Exxon Mobil.
Joe Wilson has been lobbied by National Auto Dealers Association, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and Scana Corp, an energy based holding corporation. Scana also appears on other contribution lists, but I'm not going backward lol.
Tennessee
Marsha Blackburn is paid by Club for Growth and Koch Industries to the tune of $200,000+.
Chuck Fleischmann, at a glance, doesn't seem to have financial motivations for saying that we should murder Al Gore by putting him on an iceberg. Maybe that's just good ol' fashioned partisanship.
Phil Roe's most obvious conflict of interest is to Eastman Chemical company, which produces plastics, among other things.
Texas (Texas by far has the most reps here. Texas really hates the Earth from some reason. What the fuck y'all?)
John Cornyn: Exxon Mobil, Valero Energy, Energy Transfer Equity and Chevron.
Ted Cruz, who is absolutely, 100% a real human person, has taken money from Club for Growth, Exxon Mobil and Murray Energy.
Jodey Arrington takes money from Texas Farm Bureau, National Auto Dealers Association, Texas Cattle Feeders Association and Westex Well Services, which gets contracts for drilling oil wells.
Kevin Brady's largest donor is Anadarko Petroleum, and he also gets money from National Auto Dealers Association, Chevron and Valero Energy
John Carter is hooked up by National Auto Dealers Association, Energy Future Holdings Corp, Texas Farm Bureau and Koch Industries.
Lance Gooden is buddies with Marathon Petroleum, National Auto Dealers Association and Nustar Energy.
Dan "Jokes Hurt My Feelings" Crenshaw. His comments don't seem to disregard man-made climate change entirely, but he has taken money from an auto dealership and General Electric, so maybe something to keep an eye on lol
Louis Gohmert puts us back on track, taking donations from Koch Industries, Martin Gas Co and Energy Future Holdings Corp.
Michael McCaul's donors include Koch Industries, Energy Future Holdings Corp, Valero Energy and some automotive organizations.
Pete Olson is beholden to Koch Industries, Valero Energy, National Auto Dealers Association, Energy Future Holdings Corp and Exxon Mobil.
John Ratcliffe: Club for Growth, Exxon Mobil and Milestone Electric.
Mac Thornberry does a gross disservice to his surname by bedding National Auto Dealers Association, General Atomics, Texas Cattle Feeders Association and General Electric.
Randy Weber loves Marathon Petroleum, Valero Energy and Exxon Mobil more than he loves the Earth.
Utah
Mike Lee's largest donor by far is Club for Growth, and he also takes money from Halliburton.
Rob Bishop has sold out to National Auto Dealers Association, EnergySolutions Inc, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, National Cattlemen's Beef Association, National Mining Association and Chevron.
Chris Stewart receives contributions from Marathon Petroleum, National Auto Dealers Association, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and Chevron.
Virginia
Morgan Griffith loves him some Alpha Natural Resources, a coal producer, National Auto Dealers Association, Dominion Resources, a power company, Eastman Chemical, Koch Industries, FirstEnergy Corp, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and American Electric Power.
Rob Wittman gets money from National Auto Dealers Association and Dominion Resources.
Washington
Cathy McMorris Rodgers loves getting money from Avista Corp, a natural gas company, Club for Growth, Farm Credit Council, National Auto Dealers Association and Hecla Mining.
West Virginia
Shelley Moore Capito has received major donations from National Auto Dealers Association, Arch Coal and Triana Energy.
David McKinley is as dirty as coal is: Arch Coal, First Energy Corp, Alpha Natural Resources, Patriot Coal Corp, CONSOL Energy, National Auto Dealers Association, American Electric Power, Dominion Resources and Murray Energy.
Alex Mooney is tired to National Auto Dealers Association and First Energy Corp.
Wisconsin
Ron Johnson has received over $500,000 from Club for Growth, in addition to funds from tens of thousands from Koch Industries.
Sean "It Can't Be Global Warming Because It's Cold Outside" Duffy gets money from Koch Industries and Grassland Dairy.
Mike Gallagher doesn't appear to have any financial conflicts at a glance.
Glenn Grothman has such donors as Koch Industries and Alliant Energy.
Jim Sensenbrenner's comments seem relatively sensible, whatever that's worth, but he still takes money from National Auto Dealers Association and General Electric.
Wyoming
John Barrasso thinks the US will continue to rely on fossil fuels and coal. Wonder if that has anything to do with his donors? They include Pinnacle West Capital, an energy company, Chevron, NextEra Energy, Exelon Corp, Murray Energy, Koch Industries and Exxon Mobil.
Mike "Snowfall Disproves Global Warming" Enzi takes that sweet lobby money from National Auto Dealers Association, Exxon Mobil, National Mining Association, Peabody Energy and Arch Coal.
Liz "Yes, Those Cheneys" Cheney: Halliburton (no shit) and Pinnacle West Capital.

2018.06.13 01:05 Fartfunnel 30k in Stocks. Whats it really worth?

Planning on buying a house and wish to sell 30k(~750 shares of Exelon) worth of shares that I own. There's some information I'm sure you'll need, but that is not readily available to me, so any estimate you can provide would be appreciated.
This is pretty much all the information I have: I recieved the shares about 20 years ago and they have been reinvested quarterly since. Initial purchase amount and at what price is unclear (estimated to have been worth $1000-3000, based on my mother's memory).
I make around 28k a year after taxes. I'm 22 years old. Not married (if that matters). These are my only assets. I live in Pennsylvania.
I'd just like a rough estimate on how much I can expect to cash out if I were to sell all of the shares, before I go to an accountant. What kind of closing costs/expenses will I have to pay and what will the government take?
Any information or tips on what my next plan of action should be are appreciated. I will try to provide additional information if needed. Thank you and sorry I'm financially ignorant.

Description

Consolidated Edison, Inc. is an electric utility that owns Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc., Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. It also owns electric and gas transmission businesses. Their customers are in New York City, Westchester County, south-eastern New York, northern New Jersey and north eastern Pennsylvania. Those customers range from businesses, consumers to other electricity companies.
Though if you've ever visited New York, you'll have seen their advertising or trucks! And if you think back to your history classes, Thomas Edison, yes he founded part of the business back in 1880.

Recent financials

Glacial you might say. At least at the top line. Sure the EPS is up 10% in 5 years, but, I fail to see how that could excite anyone.
Metric 2015A 2014A 2013A 2012A 2011A
Revenue $12.6bn $12.9bn $12.3bn $12.2bn $12.9bn
EPS $4.05 $3.71 $3.61 $3.86 $3.57

Competition

I don't think I've ever seen a competition statement like this before!
(We) do not consider it reasonably likely that another company would be authorized to provide utility delivery service of electricity, natural gas or steam where the company already provides service. Any such other company would need to obtain NYSPSC consent, satisfy applicable local requirements, install facilities to provide the service, meet applicable services standards, and charge customers comparable taxes and other fees and costs imposed on the service. A new delivery company would also be subject to extensive ongoing regulation by the NYSPSC.
Hey, we are a monopoly, dude! That aside, let's look at their "peers"! And frankly, it's hard to be impressed. Margins aren't amazing, nor are returns. :(
Companies Latest Sales Operating Profit Return on Equity
Consolidated Edison, Inc. $12,074M 30% 9%
American Electric Power Company Inc $16,204M 33% 3%
Dominion Resources, Inc. $11,207M 47% 15%
Duke Energy Corp $23,249M 41% 7%
Edison International $11,325M 35% 8%
Exelon Corporation $30,186M 28% 5%
Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. $9,249M 35% 10%
Southern Co $18,283M 42% 11%
Though I suppose we can't really fault them on their returns since they are only allowed may 9% return on equity by their regulator.

Cash / Debt?

Consolidated Edison, Inc. has $14,541M of net debt. That is 4.1x it's latest operating profit. Now that sort of debt would normally worry me, but this is a utility, people want their tv to work, so a little more debt than the supermarket, is fine.

Wall Street thinks?

The professionals on Wall Street have a $73.04 for Consolidated Edison, Inc. and their recommendation to clients is Hold. That implies a downside of 2% to their target.

Valuation

And I sort of get that caution. This is a limited growth business, that's a highly regulated monopoly, that trades at a marginal discount to the market average.
View Peers Valuation Forecast PE Long-term Growth Dividend Yield FCF Yield
ED $22,733M 19x 2% 4% 14%
AEP $31,376M 17x 2% 4% 11%
D $47,758M 20x 6% 4% 12%
DUK $53,365M 17x 2% 4% 17%
EIX $23,625M 19x 2% 3% 15%
EXC $33,127M 13x 4% 4% 11%
PEG $22,468M 15x 1% 4% 14%
SO $48,696M 17x 4% 4% 16%

Dividends

Consolidated Edison, Inc. is forecast to pay a dividend of $2.67 per share, compared with a historic dividend of $2.66 per share. That is a 0% growth. The forecast dividend of $2.67 compares to a forecast EPS of $3.96.

Catalysts

In the last 3 months the stock price has moved by 2% that compares with no change in the earnings. That's against a backdrop of sales down 5% in the nine-months to Sept, and net income up 2%.
I have to admit, I am a bit surprised... the stock took a 10% dive post Trump, as bond-proxies got hit, but's rebounded since. Plus if the US is going to engage in a major bout of investing, won't Electric Utilities be some of the big investors?

VIEWPOINT:
Carbon pricing not enough to help nuclear power
Politically feasible carbon pricing is not likely to provide the long-term revenue needed to support existing or new nuclear power projects. Instead, project-specific activities should be undertaken to keep existing nuclear in operation and to drive investment in new nuclear power plants - with the cost of these activities recovered as a cost of controlling carbon, writes Nuclear Economics Consulting Group CEO Edward Kee.
Economic analyses of nuclear power projects reflect carbon price revenue, but only as a low-probability upside scenario for equity investors. The benefits, timing, level and certainty of carbon prices will need to change if nuclear power project investors and lenders are to consider carbon price revenue as a key part of project economics.
Carbon prices provide no direct benefit to nuclear power, but increase the cost of fossil fuel electricity in ways that may result in indirect benefits for nuclear power. Higher costs for combustion-based electricity due to carbon prices will make nuclear electricity appear more competitive for traditional electric utilities.

2013.06.13 15:02 rbco EXC - 2 Minute drill

June 12, 2013 (30.40) Two Minute Drill
Two Minute Drill - “I like to be able to give a two-minute monologue that covers the reasons I’m interested in it, what has to happen for the company to succeed, and the pitfalls that stand in its path.” Peter Lynch
Exelon is a large utility services holding company. Exelon generates and delivers energy to over 6.6M customers. Their principal markets are Northern Illinois (including Chicago), southeastern Pennsylvania (including Philadelphia) and central Maryland (including Baltimore).
The generation of energy is resourced by approximately 52% nuclear, 37% fossil and 11% renewable.
If we bring down F2013 earnings to $2.20 per share, using a share price of $30.40, you get a P/E of 13.82. This is using depressed earnings, and not looking towards 2014. Much of this investment is based on a lower than typical P/E, or at least an arguably fair P/E. If earnings rebound to $2.70 in F2014, the P/E at today’s closing price would be 11.26.
Because they have such a high nuclear generation, their costs are relatively fixed, yet the rates they can charge are based on the price of natural gas. Natural gas has been in a depression, and currently is priced at $3.77 per unit. During 2006, the price of natural gas was in excess of $10 per unit, and it went under $3.00 per unit during 2012.
A constant moderate rise in natural gas prices would be operationally positive for Exelon. Of course falling prices would have the opposite affect.
The company carries the inherent risk of any utility, as well as the risks of a potentially negative nuclear situation. The company carries a lot of debt, and if their credit rating went below investment grade, that could be detrimental to the investment and thesis.
