I apologize in advance for the long post, I’ll try to explain the situation in the best way possible but I just need to get this off my chest. When I talk to people, I don’t feel they understand.
My husband (33M) and I (29F) work remotely so we both have the luxury to move a bit and see our families when we want. We go back sometimes to his family country and stay there a while since we like it (good people, good food and cheaper than our country) and we are close to the beach. We have an apartment here since we come each year. This year we decide to hire a cleaning lady since it is pretty cheap here and it saves us time. Let’s call her M. M is an older lady around 68 years old I would say and she is the absolute sweetest, imagine your typical grandma that gives you all the cakes you want. Every time she comes, she would be bring something small but from her culture which I appreciate so much. Ironically, I speak one of the languages of the country so we started talking more and more. And oh gosh… her story broke me: she got married at only 14 yo and had 3 kids but she’s alone now. Her husband and family died and her kids are off to other villages pretty far and rarely visit and can’t really take care of her because they are very poor so she resulted to work to be able to live. So a few weeks back, I started to give her anything I had and didn’t use : clothes, products and a watch (worth 200$ us) and told her she can keep it or sell it if needed. Her rent is 100$ per month but she kept telling me it was very small but good enough for her. Last week, she came at home to clean and my husband started to speak to her in the native language and because there was a holiday here where normally you make a big feast with your whole family (but she couldn’t afford it) we decided to give her the money we have on us which was 250$ us. She cried and thanked us. I know it’s good what we did but I just can’t shake that feeling that it isn’t enough. Anyway, we learned that she lost her job with the cleaning company and we told her to keep coming to our place to clean and we’ll pay her. We also told her since we are working, if she wanted to come home and cook more traditional meal from the country, we’ll pay her more because we love the food, she accepted. Yesterday she came early at home so we can go together to the local market to buy the vegetables, meat, everything she needed to cook for us. Of course, we talked more and she wanted to invite me for some tea at her place to thank me which I accepted of course, she was happy to show me where she lives. IT.BROKE.ME. I know there are poor people in life, I’m not stupid but this old lady is just so sweet, you want to just take care of her. When we got to her place, I saw how small it is: my living room carpet is bigger than her room. It’s probably 2mx5m with a small mattress on the floor and there a bathroom. And I’m being generous when I say « bathroom » it is a shower curtain as door and there is a shower and a whole in the floor as a toilet (Turkish toilet style). After the tea we went back to my place and she started cooking and it was delicious. We forced her to eat with us as she didn’t want at the beginning but she accepted after. We paid her, again gave her around 100$ because I just couldn’t stand just paying her 20$ for this. Now I’m haunted by her place, I imagine her there at night and it just makes me sad… I just wish I can help more. I think it’s because I have lost all my grandparents and father as well that I feel I want to take care of her … idk. I started to check places for her and found one that is 5K us and it’s been in my head since a yesterday… maybe I could buy it for her. Im not rich and I have little saved but it stresses me thinking of her living in that place. I told one person about the 5K apartment and I received an answer like: this is too much. It is but it’s all I can think about. Im lost honestly and I haven’t talked to my husband yet, idk why but he might think its too much since we were thinking of buying a house in the next few months and he probably will say I can’t afford it.

2024.06.01 12:02 Gloomy-Beginning-218 Wizard tries to murder another party member in their sleep, fails, apologizes, then creates a new character and then attempts the same thing again.

Context: This was one of my first online games as a DM. I ran a campaign with the typical "necromancy magic is seen as bad" trope due to massive events in the campaign world (that led to the first Lich being created and using the war between 3 nations to fuel his undead army, until all 3 nations realized the threat and banded together to defeat the army of the dead and supposedly destroyed the Lich). With that knowledge in mind, one player asked to create a school of necromancy wizard (tiefling). I said sure, but let them know that if they were to use necromancy within a village, town or captial city that it would draw attention to them and most likely result in their character being arrested, or even attacked. The player said they were fine with that, but asked if they could be Lawful Evil. Now, this should have been the first red flag for this player, but I said that I would allow it but only if their actions didn't directly target or effect the other player characters. They agreed.
Now to give some more context, the other players character's consisted of:
I mentioned to the Wizard player that the paladins might not be pleased with their character if they witness them using necromancy, again, to which the wizard player said that would be fine. The second red flag was the wizard's backstory. One of the major NPC's in this campaign was a High Elf Prince, who was a powerful Archmage and a hero to the elves (inspired by Teclis from Warhammer), and the player wanted to include this NPC in their backstory, but frame the elf prince as a villian, having him mysteriously kill off the tiefling's adopted father. Now, I should have suggested perhaps another NPC of less significance to the world to take his place, but I thought, "what the hell??", I could throw an interesting twist on it and have the wizard's foster father actually be a bad guy. So, I let it be.
Onto the story: The party were in the Elven captial city when the wizard asks me as one of their "errands" that they want to visit the slums of the city. So they travel there and the wizard sees a bunch of dirty kids playing together. The wizard then walks over to a halfling girl, and begins to mesmerize her with prestidigitation effects. He asked about her quality of life (I thought he was going to give her some money or something like that), so she shares with him that she is an orphan and lives on the street. The wizard offers her food and says that if she comes with him, he will give her a better life and teach her how to use magic. Now at the time, I wasn't sure what his intentions were, so I was being very cautious in this moment, so I asked him to roll an insight check as she was looking at him with doubt in her mind. He succeeds and I share that she has doubts about his sincerity. I ask him to roll a persuasion check with a 20 DC and he makes it with a high roll. So, she agrees to go with him on the promise that he teaches her magic. When the wizard returned to the party, they were surprised and not very keen on having a young girl accompany them for their next adventure, but they allowed it after they made the wizard promise to keep her well out of harms way when danger arises.
The party arrive at the entrance to a long, and fairly dangerous dungeon crawl. In the first battle encounter, the wizard tells his "apprentice" to attack the nearest enemy instead of running away, like the party had agreed on. Now the "apprentice" isn't able to do much (as a lvl 1 wizard), and is subsequently attacked and falls unconcious and the party began to panic. The party were able to swiftly defeat the remaining enemies and heal the halfling girl. Now, when she came to, she was terrified and had a full on panic attack and wanted to leave after almost dying. The party agreed that she should not be with the party and should return to her home. This angered the wizard (and the player), who was not pleased when the party all voted to send her home. They were able to do so as another NPC was accompanying the party, and they escorted the girl back.
Now comes the kicker. The wizard player dm's me and says that he is not happy with what happened. I tell him that I had already spoken to him about the other player characters possibly not agreeing with his decision, and that the wizard was "okay with that". The wizard player doesn't reply. So I thought that the matter has been resolved. NOPE!!! Out of nowhere, the wizard states that during the night whilst on his "watch", he casts mold earth multiple times during the night and burries the oath of ancients paladin alive (as he was the voice of reason that was consistantly raising the fact that the halfling girl would not be safe). Now by this point in the session, the majority of the players as well as myself were quite frustrated with this player, as he had tried to meta before and say things like, "it would work in real life" when he attempted to turn events in his favor over and over again.
I told the group that we're going to take a 10 minute break before anything else happened. I spoke with the oath of ancients paladin player and asked him what his opinion is on the matter was and if what he thought I should do/should I even allow the wizard to attempt it? The oath of ancients player says that he was happy for me to let the wizard try as if they failed and the paladin would quickly "solve" the issue.
So I messaged the wizard player and confirmed that they're certain that they want to still try it. They agreed confidently and stated that mold earth was "a somatic only cantrip" and that the paladin "won't even know that I'm casting it until their suffocating under the ground".
I messaged the group and asked them to come back to the discord chat and we jumped back in. I asked the paladin to roll a perception check, setting the DC at 10, as I reasoned that the paladin would still feel the earth being molded over and around them. The paladin rolls a natural 20. So the paladin awakens, and sees that the wizard is trying to smother them. The paladin player attempts to intimidate with the wizard and convince them not to "test his patience", but the wizard player was furious and was trying to make up more excuses on how the perception roll should have been at disadvantage.
I stated that my ruling stood, and asked them what they want to do, to which the wizard left and never returned.
I had a long conversation with the wizard player after the session and explained that I did warn them in advance that the other player characters might not agree with their actions. The player seemed strangely calm and collected and asked if they could create another character to replace the tiefling wizard (this should have been the 3rd red flag). I agreed but specified this time that necromancer and evil alignment was off the table this time. The player agreed and then createed a high elf blade-singer wizard (and min maxed it as much as they could). They gave this new character a compelling backstory and I was pleased with it. So the next session, I introduced their character to the party (the party had left the dungeon to find safety and heal the halfling girl before sending her home), and the first thing the player does was declared that they moved to attack the oath of ancients paladin, as soon as they saw him.
Dumbfounded, I ask him why? He respond with, "the paladin threatened (name of the tiefling character) and I take threats deadly seriously".
IMPORTANT NOTE: This was not in the backstory that they provided me with! And I mean, not even the slightest hint, nor was it eluded to!
I pause the game and ask the wizard player to join me in a seperate chat, and asked them how could their new character possibly know who the paladin was and how they would know the tiefling, as the two characters had never met. He said that they would have passed each other and he would have shared it with this stranger. To which I said, yeah no that's not what you sent me and you're not just gonna change your backstory on the fly just so you can attempt to kill the paladin. He got incredibly angry and started yelling about me not letting him play his character how he wants to play them.
The conclusion: So to wrap up this long post. The player apologised to the group, asked for one more chance as he like the group. I asked the others individually what their thoughts on it were, they agreed to give him one more chance, so I did. And then 3 sessions later, that same player attempted to attack the ranger because he made a funny comment about the tielfing wizard (all in character). After that final straw, the player was subsquently removed from the campaign.
On a happier note: This campaign has been running for almost 5 years now and is beginning to come to a close as the players are level 19 (soon to be 20) and have accomplished incredible feats in the world.

2024.06.01 12:01 Kike151 My Main Issues with the game

I'm going to make something clear before I start, I was one of the "few" players who had their complaints about the slow gameplay, but after putting in some hours and adjusting, I can safely say that the gameplay loop is close to being in the state it should be.

Hurtboxes/Hitboxes

These are absolutely broken at the moment, any character with a melee weapon will usually get priority when it comes to hits, and any move that extends a character's limb will count as a hurtbox extension. For example Jake and Morty have moves that extend their hurtbox even when they are safe. This for me is top priority to fixing.

Balance/Gameplay

The game is SLOW yes, but only to remove the baked in issues the beta had such as spamming, infinite dodge cancelling with no tried and true fighting game whiff and punish. Rather than having something akin to the speed of MVC3 it went the MVCI route, limited combo options with even less perks to experiment with. Ultimately I don't think the speed is the true issue and more so the actual speed and move sets of certain characters. I'm going to use Garnet as an example of stripping something down to make it simple and modular. To keep it short, Garnet was a horizontal centric character that lacked vertical movement/spikes, her speed during the beta was her only saving grace, dodge cancelling was pivotal for her to even keep up. With the full release she is slower, her combos are even more limited, and she's even more vulnerable now if she's juggled in the air. She was given a flat readjustment in PFG's eyes such as reducing her range and speed without due to the new gameplay loop just because of the class she resides in. This is where class types and balance will be the focus.
If were to make a rough estimate, I'd say that 50% of the cast needs a nerf while the other needs a buff. Some characters have spikes that should not be killing or doing the knockback that lands KOs. For example, Banana Guard's side special or Bugs's up air. I believe every character needs a reliable spike but within good reason, which is balance. Morty has a up air that if it hits, may or may not kill depending on distance of the map, the issue with his spike is that it's unreliable due to it's short range and tendency to whiff, while a Joker or Bugs up air will reliably hit. The only reason I bring up Morty is because his up air is his most reliable spike. Black Adam has more than one option to confirm KOs, his side air and down air, his neutral attack, and his air neutral attack, and they are both the same class, a bruiser type.
This applies to nearly every cast, for example Wonder Woman's safe and consistent attacks with armor and speed that keeps her at that safe distance, lasso ftw. While Superman has to use his fists to maybe land a hit with his ground up attack, with a slower speed than Wonder Woman you have to be more careful with him because of his range. Some Mages or Assassin's are classified wrong due to their speed and move sets while some are Straight up hybrids, like Steven. Some characters have transitioned well while others are held back by the changes like Velma. Newer characters like Joker and Jason feel right at home with this new gameplay loop.

(READ THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ MY POINTS) To sum it up, the game was relaunched in a broken state to a new engine, with characters with nerfed beta version move sets to a newly designed gameplay loop, and it didn't translate smoothly. Making characters slower and more limited in combos and spikes to fit this new design was a simple way of transitioning the game into something new. Certain move sets have to be sped up or tweaked with hurtboxes/hitboxes actually fixed.

There's definitely other issues like monetization and progression but that's self explanatory, you should be rewarded accordingly with how much you play, slow progression is bad and middle ground should be the standard. Given this is a F2P game there has to be some money to be made from the devs to keep it going. Thanks for reading.

EXTENSIVE Rebirth, Remake, and OG FF7 spoilers in here.
This is a continuation of What's Actually Going On in FF7R (The White Materia) where I attempt to make sense of everything the Remake continuity added to the OG FF7 story. It really is best if you read the other thread first, just because this will be easier if i've already explained my theory on the White Materia and it's associated spell, Holy.
Another disclaimer : This is, still, just a theory, aGameTheory. Don't hate me (or square?) in the event it's completely wrong, which it has a decent chance of being.
There are only 2 things about FF7's Story that have fundamentally changed in Remake.
The White and Black Materia. Or more specifically, the Magic granted by them.
But what I want to discuss this time is (what I personally think, as of Rebirth) is one brilliant misdirection from Square Enix...in hindsight, anyway.

The Whispers

Oh no
"....What the hell was Square thinking?" -- You, probably, watching the ending to Rebirth and/or Remake
Well, they were thinking exactly what you were thinking. And they used it against you.
So getting right to it. TLDR;
The Whispers are exactly what they were said to be -- they protect fate by rejecting any changes to the Lifestream. The misdirection here is how YOU have been goaded into misinterpreting this information.
The White and Black Materia can fully explain their existence and purpose. And it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the OG FF7.
Let's start with what we learned from the previous thread about the White Materia:
So what does the White Materia ACTUALLY do in FF7R?
The White Materia (Holy) gives the user access to the Lifestream. Not just a piece of its knowledge, like regular materia....but the actual lifestream itself. In doing so, they gain knowledge, like all Materia allows them to do. Knowledge of the past, the future, and everything else in flux.
But this is NOT knowledge that you're not supposed to be able to actually do anything with, **because unlike casting Fire or Lightning....**knowing the future allows you to change fate.
Materia are orbs containing knowledge of the ancients. In effect, they contain information from the lifestream itself. The White Materia's magic (Holy) is special though. The magic it contains seems to allow the user to traverse the lifestream itself. This means, in effect, the ability to interact with (and take knowledge from) the actual memories of the Lifestream.
As we know, the Lifestream is everything, everywhere, and every time. All life comes from the lifestream, and when something dies, it returns there. And its memories stay there forever, as physical places within the lifestream.
This is something Tifa observed for herself in Rebirth. In her brief time floating with the WEAPON, she was reunited with her very own memories...in a very literal fashion.
Tifa, inside the Lifestream in the middle of the Gongaga Reactor
This is the Mako pool in the Lifestream underneath Gongaga. We literally watched Tifa fall in, and physically swim to this location........so why is Tifa's house here? Along with...the Nibelheim Mountians?
A Fragmented Nibelheim, including Mt Nibel and the Bridge that Tifa and Cloud almost died on in the past.
Tifa's memories are not only being played out here....they are physically real. This is because she's inside the Lifestream. She hasn't gone anywhere, she's still in Gongaga, but look at the extent to which this pool of Mako is able to interact with one person's memories.
And also....wait a second.
This space beneath the reactor is filled with White and Black Whispers.
...I thought we killed all the whispers? What are they doing here?
We'll come back to this later.
Lets back up a bit.

Why you [probably] hated the Whispers.

Hear me out.
The "OG Storyline" has never existed in Remake. It's not a thing. And the Whispers have nothing to do with it.
\"Oh, the Whispers came because Reno doesn't die in the original game\" -- You, probably
"The whispers were put into the game as a meta commentary on how the developers just want to create their own story, but the fans won't let us, so the party fucking KILLS FATE so that Nomura or Nojima or whomever is most annoying can write whatever they want." -- The Internet. Also you. Probably.
Everyone thinks the Whispers only existed in Remake in order to ensure that the story never deviates from the OG FF7 Storyline. Every time something important is about to happen that didn't happen in the original game, the whispers intervene and correct the timeline.
This is the typical, widely accepted "Meta Commentary" explanation of the Whispers.
But it's wrong.
No, not just because this theory says so. This interpretation was ALWAYS wrong.
So the whispers are canon police, but are just gonna IGNORE stuff like this?
FF7R's storyline is self-contained. If the whispers existed to "protect the old events", then why is even Remake chocked full of shit that never happened in the OG and would actively change the story if it did?
But don't be confused -- the writers ABSOLUTELY wanted you to think this way. It's what bothered me about Remake's ending. But they were actually clever about it, and Rebirth vindicates this decision.
"Changing the Future", "Defying Fate", and "The Future is Unwritten" has nothing to do the OG FF7.
Okay good we got this out of the way, I can stop talking about Meta Analysis and get to the actual good stuff.

What the whispers were ACTUALLY doing

Remake explained what the Whispers are verbatim.
They protect fate -- the Lifestream. From Aerith, and Jenova.
The Lifestream IS Fate.
Red -"Perhaps best described as arbiters of fate. They are drawn to those who attempt to alter destiny's course and ensure they do not."
Tifa - "And you're saying that flow is somehow...fixed?
Red - "Yes. For it is the will of the planet itself."
Barret then speaks about possible bad fates. And Red XIII says this:
Barret - "So if we're destined for a bleak future, these Whispers will try to keep us on that course?"
"....Now wait just a damn minute. How in the hell could you possibly know any of that? Spouting that cryptic stuff -- which could all be bullshit!"
Red - "When Aerith reached out to me...I found this knowledge of the Whispers."
In the previous thread, we explained how Aerith has been messing with the Lifestream by mistakenly using the White Materia to obtain information she has no business knowing. The Whispers are simply reacting to her blatant misuse of this, and act to correct it.
This is very consistent, even in Pt1. The Whispers in Remake ONLY appear when someone is either:
  1. Using forbidden knowledge from the Lifestream
  2. Manipulating events by sharing forbidden knowledge from the lifestream
  3. When something foreign attempts to force its will on the lifestream
This is the only time they act. But the THIRD one is the most important. I'm going to go through a few examples in Remake and show exactly what's happening that is causing the Whispers to intervene, and explicitly why.
After I show you this, please go back and watch videos of all these sorts of events in Remake. You will see exactly what I mean.
Okay, buckle up kids!

Violation #1 Using forbidden knowledge from the Lifestream

Watching the first appearance of Aerith in Remake gives us full clarity of what's actually happening.
Aerith is attacked by an invisible force.
Aerith is being attacked by Whispers. This is because she possesses the White Materia, and has constant access to knowledge she isn't supposed to have. They are taking it from her.
Thing to note here. Cloud cannot see the whispers. This is because he is not violating any of the 3 rules.
Sephiroth makes an appearance here.
The appearance of the \"Mental Static\" used in both Remake and Rebirth
This is a Red Herring...in fact, this is THREE brilliantly placed Red Herrings. Because the "Memory Static" that appears here belongs to both Cloud AND Aerith, and serves to confuse you on what it actually means.
  1. Aerith sees Cloud, and immediately gains knowledge about them both that she is not supposed to know. Also, if you pay attention, Aerith is NOT frozen during this sequence. This is her scene just as much as it is Cloud's.
  2. Cloud has yet another vision of Sephiroth, caused by his Jenova cells. This is a huge misdirection, to eventually make you think Sephiroth is popping up in places he "shouldn't be."
  3. This is where Remake starts to fuck with your head. They're using the same memory effect for two different characters, for two different reasons. But the result is essentially the same -- the characters involved are having their perception altered. Remake does NOT distinguish between static caused by Holy or static caused by Jenova. They are treated equally in Remake.
The biggest red herring here though is Sephiroth.
It SEEMS unnatural that Sephiroth is appearing here, this early in the game. But it isn't unnatural -- Cloud is plagued by these visions all the time in this continuity. This is why the game gave us a Sephiroth appearance immediately after the Bombing Mission.
Now. Notice how, despite being attacked by invisible whispers, Aerith mostly seems unbothered by this.
...Almost as if she's used to it. Similar to the way Cloud is equally used to visions of Sephiroth. They BOTH carry on with the conversation as though NOTHING has happened.
The game is explicitly showing you that both of these occurrences are seen as normal for these characters. Suggesting that they have actually been dealing with them for much longer than you would think.
Aerith has another Whisper attack. Cloud is once again very confused, until this happens:
Cloud's violation of #1 through contact with Aerith
Aerith touches Cloud.
We learn later that Aerith touching you gives you knowledge you're not supposed to have. Thus, Cloud is now in violation of Rule #1 -- Forbidden Knowledge. He can now observe whispers for the rest of the story.

Violation #2 Manipulating events by sharing forbidden knowledge from the lifestream

The Church Scene is a great example of this. In fact, most of the moments in Rebirth involve Aerith doing this to some degree.
The White Materia is explicitly the cause of the Whisper Attack in the church, and the game goes out of its way to make it very obvious.
Cloud Memory Static, this time it's Holy, not Jenova. (I don't have enough attachments to spell this out, so please go look at the scene after you read this.)
This is another VERY good example of Remake fucking with your head.
The Red Herring here is obvious -- the vision of Aerith's Death. Yes, it was a vision of her death. But her death wasn't the important information the game was showing you in this scene. The White Materia was.
Regardless, the whispers did not intervene here, despite Cloud obviously glimpsing forbidden knowledge.
So why DID they intervene?
\"...Huh?\" - Cloud
Because Aerith couldn't keep her mouth shut.
  1. She tells Reno that Cloud is her bodyguard. He isn't. Reno is.
  2. She exposed that he was a Soldier. Reno explicitly does not like Soldiers.
  3. She already knew that Cloud was doing mercenary work, and used this to persuade him.
Cloud told her none of this information. But it caught Reno's attention. And what was the result?
*Sizes Cloud up*
"Well, you're weird enough to be one."
\"What Class are you?\"
Reno doubts Cloud's Identity as a First Class Ex-Soldier. And Cloud violently reacts to protect it.
The whispers stopped Cloud from killing Reno, NOT because Reno survives in the OG game...but because Reno's life wouldn't even be at risk here if Aerith didn't instigate this fight.
And just like the Flower scene, Remake actually sets this one up with prior character information too. -- Cloud was shown from the beginning of the game to be prone to extreme violence. He would have also executed Johnny without Tifa's intervention. So we KNOW he would have killed Reno if the Whispers didn't intervene.
Hopefully you're beginning to see a pattern here.
Here is the most obvious example of this rule triggering the Whispers.
Aerith attempting to stop Barret from doing something....
In this scene, we see Aerith clearly knows something she isn't supposed to. She wants to share with Barret that killing the President isn't a good idea...And the whispers immediately appear, threatening her to stop. By this point, Aerith is beginning to become aware of why the whispers are harassing her so much.
I covered this scene in my last post, so I wont again...but this scene is crucial towards understanding what's happening in this game. Everyone should watch this scene again. Pay attention to what happens to Aerith the moment she says "Follow the Yellow Flowers". Aerith is clearly not herself as she says this. It's almost as if someone possessed her to say it. And the Whispers absolutely swarm her as a result.

Violation #3 -- When something foreign attempts to force its will on the lifestream

And here we go. The one that caused like 90% of the confusion in Remake. To be fair, this could only really be understood in hindsight after playing Rebirth.
There are many cases in Remake where the Whispers do something that seems...odd, given their explanations as arbiters of fate. Like attacking Sector 7, silencing Hojo, or literally helping Sephiroth at the end of the game. This is because although it's clearly whispers doing it...in Remake there is no visual indication of which Will any given Whispers serve -- The Planet, or Jenova's.
They all LOOK the same.
But they absolutely ARE NOT the same -- they are separate (black and white), just like in Rebirth.
But Remake included subtle clues as a nod to this reveal in Rebirth.
The Whisper Attack on Sector 7
This is another situation where you're expected to believe that the whispers are causing a ruckus because Cloud isn't going on the second bombing mission with Avalanche. Which is something we know he does in the OG game.
But that's just because we likely misinterpreted the clues that lead up to this moment that explain exactly why this is happening : The white whispers are attempting to correct the deliberate isolation of the main party by the black whispers.
A whisper is seen lurking around in Sector 7 the day before this happens. It's extremely easy to miss.
A whisper was present in Seventh Heaven. This was shown immediately after Barret told Cloud he wasn't on the next mission and has to leave.
See...if you're comparing Remake to the OG, then this whisper shown here is 100% going to force you to misinterpret what it's doing here.
In Seventh Heaven, multiple things happen that result in a break up of the entire main party.
  1. Tifa is feeling anxious about the next mission. Jesse goes out of her way to voice concerns about her involvement, leading to her getting kicked off the team for the mission.
  2. Jesse then tries to aim to get Cloud placed on the team instead. Barret refuses to do this because he "doesn't want the team leaning on him."
  3. Barret pays Cloud, tells him he isn't wanted on the next mission, and kicks him out the bar.
  4. A whisper will literally stop you from entering Seventh Heaven again after this happens to make sure you can't fix it.
The side mission with Jesse happens.....and then this.
A whisper with Sephiroth's voice trying to keep Cloud sleep
A Whisper with Sephiroth's voice approaches Cloud in the morning. He wants him to sleep through Barret, Jesse, and Biggs going on the mission. This would have likely isolated Barret, resulting in his death. Something Jenova tries again towards the end of the game.
She really does not want Barret to stay alive, because he is the glue of Avalanche, and the main reason the events of the story begin the way they do. Cloud also likely never would have met Aerith in the church.
Jenova's whispers are trying to prevent Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and Barret from getting together. This event would have succeeded in separating all of them.
That's why the whispers are at war with one another.
The Black ones are trying to isolate you. The white ones are correcting their meddling.
The game even STOPS you mid-combat to bring attention to the fact that the Black Whispers are being exposed.

They stop attacking after a whisper manages to isolate and injure Jesse, at which point the battle is over and all whispers leave.
And of course....there's most obvious example of this kind of massive violation from Remake....The Infamous Chapter 18.
But that's gonna have to wait for another post.

TL;DR : FF7R is messing with your head.

Aerith using the White Materia in Remake is literally going through the events of the story the exact same way the player did -- with "forbidden knowledge" about how things are "supposed to be".
In Rebirth, the White Materia is empty. She no longer has knowledge of what's "supposed to happen", and thus has to accept that whatever happens, happens. This is why the "The Journey is Unknown." Not because the party killed the whispers, therefore the writers can do whatever they want. But because Aerith hid her knowledge of the future (Holy) from herself. She used to be able to know what was going to happen. Now she can't. The real Meta thing is that FF7R only really starts to make sense when you willingly abandon what you thought you already knew about the story. Those who look with clouded eyes see nothing but shadows.
Now go back through Remake with the new perspective and tell me that everything doesn't make way more sense.
Also, please tell me im crazy so I can stop writing these.

....Oh. One final hilarious mindblowing. Remember this?
This is where Remake starts to fuck with your head. They're using the same memory effect for two different characters, for two different reasons. But the result is essentially the same -- the characters involved are having their perception altered.
Remake does NOT distinguish between static caused by Holy or static caused by Jenova. They are treated equally in Remake.
Rebirth DOES distinguish the visual effects of memory alteration.
But only for the player.
Cloud still can't tell the difference.

I'm (24F) going to visit my s/o (25M) for a month this summer and to save up on cash, I'm staying with him and his family majority of this trip. But I'll also be visiting relatives and friends in the same state. I'm just wondering if I'm worrying too much.
For context, I'm employed (i got a certification + leave request), and I would say I have a good travel history to SEA countries, Japan, Korea, AUS, EU usually with family and I've visited the US twice with family. I'm going by myself for the first time. Since, it's my very first SOLO travel, I'm a bit nervous.
For this upcoming summer trip, I have a return ticket + tour itinerary and I've booked and paid for the activities (e.g. theme parks, museums, national parks) in advance.
I just want to know if they would find my case suspicious because of my profile?

2024.06.01 11:42 Ya_Boy_Toasty New claim after closure of claim set up

Our claim was closed yesterday unexpectedly for not accepting commitments despite neither of us seeing commitments when we've logged on and receiving no email saying there was a message/new commitments like we've done previously. Our circumstances haven't changed since last assessment period, either. Spoke to two agents, the first very rude and the second actually helpful, and have put in a new claim as it sounded like MRs never rule in your favour over commitments.
We did this as soon as we were off the phone last nigt. It seems it'll be much quicker this time, already saying we'll be told how much we'll be paid on July 2nd and paid July 6th, so basically a month vs the 6 weeks last time. We're definitely going to need an advance for rent payment, and when we clicked the page it says we can apply after they've checked our identity. Will we actually need to have an identity check and bank check meeting again when we did that for the first claim? We used the same accounts we had for the first claim.

I work as a product designer for a company where the design methodology is over-reliance on copying competitor products or getting inspiration from other big brand apps and not doing much of your own research at all, it’s pants.
My previous company I worked as a UX/UI designer was more of the same, with a bit more A/B testing involved and minimal research (bias to action and monitor KPIs to prove success). Long story short I’ve always been happy to focus more on UI as my background was originally graphic design and I’ve been paid well so no complaints or necessity to job hop, but most the job ads these days appear to be senior product designers.
I have no issues getting to the latter rounds of interview processes but then it becomes obvious I lack in depth research experience with in depth questioning, so I’m stuck in this role and I want to join a company that does things the right way.
I’ve tried very hard here to foster a culture of more user centred design but the director says our timelines are too tight to do this, so my hands are tied.
I have almost 5 years experience now so all roles expect me to have a ‘better balance of research along with UI’ (reject rejection) which is a fair comment. Anyone else been in a similar boat and can offer any advice, or how you got out of the cycle?

2024.06.01 11:26 RamsinJacobRealty August 17th - The Real Estate industry is going to change dramatically for the consumers

For those who have been following the mass media headlines and don't have much experience with the real estate industry in CA, they assume:
The list of claims from the novice public population goes on and on...
First and foremost, commissions have ALWAYS been negotiable. In all the new contracts coming to the state of CA, you will see this written repeatedly, so much that it will become embedded in your mind.
The NAR lawsuit, was nothing but a pure money grab by attorneys. Anyone with actual knowledge of the case and what's happening will tell you the same thing. Why do I say that? Well, for starters, the plaintiffs in the case all have a common theme - They signed a listing agreement. On those listing agreements/contracts are the terms, commissions, etc. We are all grown adults, if you cannot read the terms of a contract you are physically signing, that's a problem. If you cannot comprehend the terms of the contract you signed, that's a problem. If you don't agree with the terms and conditions of the contract you signed and you did not speak up to either question, counter or negotiate it, that's a problem. To then go an file a lawsuit because you did one or all of the above, is the definition of contradiction. That's what happened in the case. It was a quick open and close, attorneys saw the big dollar signs and moved it along without any proper defense from the defendants. When you sign an agreement/contract, you are acknowledging that you reviewed and accept EVERYTHING in that agreement/contract. There's no going back on an agreement, unless there's a specific term written into the agreement, likely would state an addendum would need to ratified by both parties to change anything.
So what's the results?
The ruling stated that the MLS needs to remove the buyer's agent co-operative compensation from the MLS. In Real Estate, specifically in California, you don't see 6% commissions, I've been in Real Estate nearly 10 years, do business in the Bay Area and LA, I've never or heard 6%. 5% has been the norm and commissions have ALWAYS been negotiable. The structure of commissions thus far have been the listing agent and seller agree on a commission that's compensated to the listing agent and to the buyer's agent - but the listing brokerage technically is collect the entire amount and distributing the buyer's agent commission to the buyer's brokerage at closing. So for instance:
So now, that the buyer's brokerage co-operative compensation will not longer be a thing, the public thinks buyer's agents are suddenly going to be working for free or a very low amount. Real Estate agents are independent contractors, we don't make any money unless we close transactions, there's many fees involved which the public are unaware about & no, good agents are not focused on the dollar amount, they are focused on volume and doing right by their clients.
Sellers will still be able to compensate a buyer's agent, no one can tell a seller they can't. The structure of how it'll be processed slightly changes. There's various ways, which I won't go into in detail here and share my strategies since there may be other agents lurking here. These strategies, along with other new practices is what's going to separate the agents who stay in the business and the thousands who will be moving onto other endeavors.
Moving forward starting August 17th - Those buyers out there who don't commit to an agent and want to pull around multiple at a time, those days are done. One bad practice that majority of agents have is they never developed proper execution of the buyebroker representation agreement. Whether it be non-exclusive or exclusive, majority of agents never implemented it and the public didn't know anything else on how business is suppose to run. I sit on the minority side of agents who actually does implement the buyebrokerage agreement. August 17th, every single agent will have the specific policy that they need to sign agreements with every buyer they work with. Every buyer out there, before you can even go look at a house, you need to sign an agreement with an agent. A buyer won't be permitted to see a home without an agency agreement. This is all thanks to the lawsuit settlement.
This makes it more difficult for the buyers at the end of the day. Why? To begin with, a buyer needs to find an agent and commit to them. With the agreements that buyers will have to sign, there will specifically be a section regarding the compensation due to the buyer's agent. You as the buyer will technically be on the hook of that compensation to your buyer's agent, if the seller is not willing to compensate. There are various strategies here which a savvy and experienced Agent can ensure their buyer clients won't need to come out of pocket to compensate the buyer's agent for their services, again, these strategies is what's going to separate the majority of the agents from the ones at the top.
There's additional conversations and paperwork that needs to and will be made at every initial conversation between a buyer and their potential new agent. Along with listing agents and their sellers. The groups behind this change want to believe this creates more "transparency" in the Real Estate business. It actually does the opposite. It becomes a huge unknown and guessing game about compensation to agents from the buyer perspective and also sellers. Buyers will be going into the process unsure about whether or not they will need to end up paying their buyer's agent or will the seller be able to cover the fees from the proceeds. Sellers will not be sure about how much they can potentially be netting from the sell of the property, because a buyer's agent with the best offer could be requesting either a very high or standard commission. There's no improvement towards transparency in this. We're literally going backwards in the industry. This is what so many people just don't have any idea about.
The structure of commissions is just one area of change we are going to experience. Open houses will be different, every buyer will need to sign an acknowledgment document upon entry. Sellers may offer "concessions" - so that's the new word instead of "commissions". Literally the industry is going through technical changes with procedures and contracts which at the core does not improve anything for the consumers. I guarantee more people will feel frustrated and confused about buying or selling with these changes coming soon.
Again, commissions have ALWAYS been negotiable. Redfin has always had their low cost services, which don't produce good results, as a seller, you leave well over $100k on the table. As a buyer, you won't know what a great agent experience feels like. Along with those flat fee services, those are even worse. Attorneys are out there too, all they do is push paper along, that's it. They don't have a clue about Real Estate. All of those services have always been available, if they were any good, it would have taken over the industry a long time ago. Clearly, it's not. Just remember, like anything in life, you get what you pay for. Don't expect to have great service and low ball your agent. There's no sense to battle over 1% of agent fees, when the agent is going to be making your life easier throughout the process, negotiate on your behalf, cover all your bases to minimize potential legal troubles and provide the highest level of advisory. The great agents out there, are well worth what they request for compensation. For years, I've been negotiating deals for my buyers $100,000 - $250,000 below seller's desired prices on average. I jump through hoops of fire for my clients to serve them as best as possible, working around the clock, at all hours, matter of fact, it's currently 2:37am as I write this... And for my sellers, I have been negotiating sales on their property anywhere from $100,000 - $500,000 above their expectations (not list price, big difference, a list price is nothing but a marketing strategy, keep that in mind). I specialize with investments, have been doing this for nearly a decade. Time and time again, I've located deals for my investor clients/partners which literally no one else saw other than myself. I say that with full confidence, backed by facts. There's been many deals, sitting on the market, available for anyone to purchase, available to negotiate to the best of your ability and no one did so, no one saw it, other than myself. Which resulted in significant profits within a short amount of time. The ability to foresee the future value of a property in the market is not something anyone can do. The ability to envision a renovated property from a torn down home, is not common.
When you break it down, the agent fees are minuscule in comparison to what a great advisor is able to do.

LOOKING FOR WORK AROUND YOUNGSTOWN OHIO
Anyone looking for a woman with experience in everything from dishy, ordering, menu creation, COGs and menu pricing, training others, food certificates, being MOD during inspections, every station from dishy to head sauté to prep, to even being the one to tackle the nasty jobs because I recognise that I usually get paid more than my staff and I enjoy showing that I’m not afraid of getting dirty? I have 15 years in kitchens and 6 years of management.
One was a cafe style management position so like sandwiches and coffees (not really cooking IMO but where a lot of my management experience comes from), another was 3.5 ish years in a kitchen. Started as dishy and worked my way up to head sauté at two locations (owner and I would switch weeks - one week I’d be sauté at one and the other week sauté at the other. It worked for us because that way he could check on how I was managing the two places in his absence and we were low staffed at the time - he normally didn’t work that much).
By the time I left the second position, all of the younger employees were calling me “chef”, I assume because of The Bear, and I kept telling them that I wasn’t. Whatever, it was still great. I was essentially KM and head sauté and expo at both locations on the days that I’d work. Sometimes with one helper but sometimes even the dishy gotta call out 😔 I definitely have experience running four or five stations at once.
ETA - I have 15 years of kitchen stuff. I only listed the two most relevant.
I’m a quick learner and take lots of notes, so I’d be a great addition to any kitchen. I have also only ever had ONE steak sent back for being less medium and more rare. I have prepared thousands of ribeyes at this point.
I’m very interested in learning more about the industry and would love to engage in how and why you do your stuff the way you do it. I’m not a know it all but I am a very good learner. I’ll leave this with a quote from my personal favourite chef who was also into literature -
“Skills can be taught. Character you either have or you don’t have.”

Myself(m32) and my girlfriend(f31) have been together for 4 months, still early I know. Back story we work in the same job but in different areas of the country and over the past few years have had many close encounters but nothing ever happened even though we have both admitted since that we both liked eachother for a very long time.
So eventually we did connect and we went on our first date and it was amazing, it was only a walk around a park but after that first date I just knew this girl was the one! It was something I couldnt explain. From that day we couldnt get enough of eachother, we were speaking all the time and seeing eachother whenever we could. Life was amazing, we were only together for 2 months before we both confessed that we loved eachother.
Ive had several really bad relationships in the past and been screwed over so many times in my life that I had these defensive walls up but she got those walls down and I let her in quicker than I ever thought I would have. She told me all the things I needed to hear and it really just made me love her even more, for the first time she made me feel like I was good enough.
My girlfriend also has a young son who is 6 years old and whenever she first asked me how I would feel about meeting him I told her Im more than happy to meet him but it has to be when shes ready and she is comfortable with that happening. So a few weeks later she decided it was time, we went a day out to a kids inflatable park place and I got on great with him right from the start. I feel like her son really took to me well and we could clearly tell that! She said she had only ever introduced him to 2 other guys she dated and he never really had an interest in them nor did they with him. Whereas I make an effort to bond with him, I build his lego with him, draw with him, play in the garden with him.. hes asked a few times that I read him his bed time story, if we watch a movie he wants to sit next to me on the couch.. and probably the biggest thing on 2 seperate occassions he introduced me to one of his friends as his step dad(we have never mentioned anything like this so its entirely came from himself) which we both found funny and my girlfriend even said well clearly he does like me. Ive grown really fond of him and hes an added bonus to my life, I feel like im in a lucky position that I get an amazing girlfriend and along with that comes an amazing new wee pal.
Now in regards to her son, I asked her if she had told his dad about me yet because I think its respectful to do so.. if it was me Id like to know if there was a new man around my child. She said she hadnt yet but she was going to soon. I was happy at that. With things going as well as they were, we started talking and planning alot of future stuff together. So we have a city break booked at the end of June, a load of tickets for shows etc that are all for both of us and her son, we have a log cabin stay booked for just the 2 of us and later in the year we decided to fully commit to an actual week holiday away and again we are taking her son with us. Booking this holiday made me ask the question again if she had told his dad about me yet because now its not just a new guy around the house, hes literally coming away on holiday with us.. well she still hadnt told him because he was being civil and communicating well with her and she knew when she told him he would change.
This leads us pretty much to where we are now.. the big turn in all of this. Out of the blue from absolutely nowhere she tells me she thinks this has all moved too fast and alot of it seems to be revolving around her saying she shouldnt have let me meet her son as soon as she did and that it was a poor parenting decision on her part. Now I’ll agree it moved fast but it wasnt forced it just happened! And part of me thinks that actually speaks volumes about the connection we have, she speaks to me all the time about us getting married and having kids of our own and this life we want together.
And now nothing! She says she needs space from me, she barely replies to my texts but when I asked her she said she still wants to be with me but it feels like shes just saying that. This girl has went from making me feel things ive not felt in a very long time and feeling things ive never felt before to practically overnight being completely different.
Im thinking its involving her sons dad, I think he has maybe heard perhaps from her son.. hes maybe mentioned the holiday and hes asked whos going and hes said his mum and me.. and thats how hes found out! God forbid if hes asked who I am and the son has said im his step dad because I know I wouldnt be happy if that happened to me! Maybe the dad has kicked off at her and told her shes a terrible parent like he had in the past and shes thought maybe she has done the wrong thing.. who knows.
All I know is right now im stuck in this limbo not knowing whats happening.. we have all these trips planned booked and paid for and Ive no idea if we are going or not! My head is all over the place and I can seem to get a straight answer from her but I also dont want to push her.

This sounds like a fantasy, but it’s actually reality in the streets of Montgomery County, MD. This is the life of a rich crackhead named Amy.
Before I tell you about Amy, we gotta get the background first and go all the way back to 2021(if you want to skip and get right to Amy, just go to paragraph 11/12, but you’ll miss out on a lot). It’s the year 2021, I had just came back a couple months ago from pulling off EDD fraud. One day I was driving drop top mustangs in Malibu, the next I’m seeing my accounts get frozen and my money slowly begin to dwindle down. Before I knew it I was back in DC, broke and back to square one. Now from the time I was in Cali to the time I returned a lot of shit happened. I fell off with a lot of people, so I found myself hanging around an unusual crowd of people, the Bethesda kids.
You see before I dropped out of Towson University, I had met this nigga named LP, he was from Bowie and he went to school out Bethesda, but me and him got along because we had two things in common: we both liked DMV music, and we both liked to party our asses tf off. But that’s a story for another day.
You see LP put me on to a lot of people from Bathesda, I had never really hung around white folks before, and with the connections he gave me i made friends with a couple of crackas and even met my now deceased ex girlfriend. I was going to the craziest white functions and constantly turning up. But I saw more than a chance to have fun, saw this as a money making opportunity🤑 cha ching! And it was through LP that I met some friends who introduced me to a nigga named Swervy.
You see them white folks love to drink beer and smoke weed at parks, so one day I’m meeting up wit one of my good men, Ju. Ju is the typical school shooter typa fella, so it’s no surprise what I saw when I linked up with him at the spot. With him was this long haired European foreign exchange motherfucker whose name I forgot, and this bearded Eastern European nigga named Swervy, and he was wildin the fuck out. Mind you I’m from the projects, and all these bathesda niggas I’m meeting are rich ass motherfuckers who live in multi million dollar mansions. Keep in mind these cats may be rich, but everybody out bathesda is rich so these are basically the rejects. Pretty much the closest thing to a street nigga you can find out there.
As I’m getting introduced to some of these cats, Swervy pulls out a syringe. So I ask “Man wtf is this man doing,” “He’s shooting up fent” casually says Ju. That was the first time I ever witnessed someone shooting up a drug, and it wouldn’t be the last. Swervy would eventually become Amy’s boyfriend. And he was quite the yapper, he’s one of those motherfuckers who peaked in high school, and now he’s just watching his life come spiraling down, at least that is until he meets Amy…
In this meet up I learn a lot about Swervy. He was basically a kingpin at the age of 16-17. He would get shipments of 10’s of thousands of Xanax bars and sell them like hotdogs at a baseball game. These weren’t your regular junkies, these are the children of senators, buisness owners and lawyers. So you didn’t have to worry about a junkie saying he’ll pay you back, money was nothing to these crazy ass white folks. In the midst of all this yapping, I hear something that caught my attention.
“Yea so basically my cousins got like seven pounds of weed and 500gs of thc wax that they’ll give me if I can pick it up, it’s all the way in Arizona” Says Swervy.
🤑🤑🤑Cha mothafucking ching! This was the money I was talking about. Now driving cross country with pounds of weed and concentrate was risky, but shit I’d give my left nutsack for that kind of opportunity. And I might as well have, because a week later I was on my way to Tucson, with this Russian speaking drug addict I had just met the other day. Mind you I’m driving around in a red Lancer, with paper Vermont tags that I had printed online. I might as well Have went up to the police station and asked any of them if they wanted to buy drugs. My young naive dumbass didn’t realize the risk, all I was thinking about was 🤑🤑🤑 cha Ching!
I can sit here all day and tell you about that drive to Arizona, but imma keep it short and simple so we can get to this Amy chick. It was a fucking disaster, but we end up somehow making it back. We got the pounds and the concentrate, but it was all fucking shake! I’d be lucky to sell that shit for $100 a zip. Anyways, the trip opened my eyes to something, this nigga Swervy was a crashout crackhead dummy, and if I continue hanging out with him I was gonna end up dead or in jail. So I begin distancing myself, as I watched this man throw his life away from a far.
Now months go by, and at this point I’m like the street life ain’t for me and I’m working a job, I got a girlfriend and I’m staying low and just cooling it, with these pounds of weed that was so garbage, I was giving it away like charity donations. I had that goodwill pack! Just as things settle down that’s when Swervy comes back in contact with me. You see last time I had linked him, this man was overdosing off fent and we had to drive him to the hospital and save his life. But to my surprise, he was a changed man, or at least that’s what I thought...
He now has this girlfriend and he lives with her in germantown. You see me I’m baffled and curious, what crazy bitch would date this crazy motherfucker who’d probably sell his soul for one shot of heroin? I just had to find out. And when I met Amy I just didn’t know what to say. She was in her 30s and Swervy and me were in our early twenties. Amy was this slim, blonde hair, blue eyed Czechoslovakian chick who stood at about 5’7”. She wasn’t attractive by no means, you can tell the drugs did it’s toll on her, but if you’re drunk enough she can probably look fuckable. She had her degree in psychology from UMBC, but don’t be fooled her brain seemed like it was long fried. A conversation with her felt like a trip to the mental asylum. You will have better luck deciphering ancient Egyptian hyrogriphics before you can make sense of a word she says. Regardless I genuinely tried to get to know her. My guess was at some point in life she must’ve took a full sheet of acid and never recovered since. But she had her own two bedroom condo with a view of Sugarloaf mountain, a Pomeranian dog(which Swervy fucking hated), and a new jeep. So regardless I was impressed this crackhead motherfucker managed to bag her. So I asked him “Where did you find this shawty?” “At a hookah lounge in Rockville” he told me. That’s right folks, a fucking hookah lounge. Boi when I tell you after that, I was hitting up hookah spots like I had season tickets!
So I’m hanging out with them a lot now basically third wheeling, but Germantown was a long ass motherfucking drive, and I lived at the borderline to DC so I would even spend some nights in their guest bedroom. This Amy chick had parents that paid for her gas money and food, they had a fireplace and a balcony. And I can enjoy the comfort of all this as long as I occasionally bring some weed to smoke. And me I’m not one of those leeching ass bums, so the only time I’m hanging out with them is when I’m invited. And I got invited a lot, probably because Amy’s a bit cuukoo and Swervy had either robbed or scared off all his friends from Bathesda. He wanted someone to give him a break from her, a bro he can drink a beer with. So I would often times accompany them. One time we were at Buffalo Wild Wings, and as I sit across from both of them Amy begins playing footsies with me under the table. Of course I play it cool. I had no interest in her, mainly because Swervy hits raw and takes hepatitis medication, also having witnessed this man hold a bunch of homeless niggas at gunpoint in broad day light after I lost my phone at this gas station in Arizona. I can only imagine how he would react if he found out I smashed his girl.
A lot of the times I hung out with them, me and Swervy would talk about Amy. You see he’s not the type to hold back certain information, and as he’s telling me about his life and relationship that’s when it hit me. A nigga like me grew up all my life, with the world constantly kicking my ass and in a whole different realm of this life shit, you got these two rich kids who fucked up their life so much with so little consequences it became a culture shock to me. Me I caught a case and felt like my life was over, these two white people are disfunctional jobless drug addicts and they’re living the life I could only dream of having with years of hard work. I began to question the world, how many are there like this? Was my life a joke? I didn’t know where I was going hanging out with them, but if I couldn’t live the good life, I could at least witness it from the front row. I learned one thing about their relationship, Amy was basically getting old and low on options, and her parents supported her. Why? Because she’s not running around getting dicked down by a bunch of drug dealing black men anymore. Here they see this young white man, who’s also Eastern European who makes their highly mentally damaged daughter feel secure. And Swervy could win an Oscar, I mean what a fucking performance! One second he goes from Angus Cloud on Euphoria, the next a good suburban white kid the second he meets her parents. In fact he had convinced them that he was such a good man, even went to family gatherings and all, that they decided, let’s just buy them a full blown house.
That’s right, a FULL FUCKING HOUSE. I’m talking about a three story townhouse in Germantown, with a fully furnished basement, a patio, a balcony, a grill, 4 bedrooms, a 70 inch television, a paid off brand new fully insured jeep, they’re talking about trips to Italy. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Fool, are we living in a simulation? I couldn’t fucking believe my eyes, Swervy had pulled off the ultimate finesse. He convinced this rich family that he was the one for their daughter. And the most hilarious thing about it is that he was no better than a crackhead heroin junkie you can find panhandling for money on the street. I couldn’t even be envious, no instead I had felt something inside of me, this sort of toxic motivation. I learned that you didn’t have to work hard in this life, you didn’t have to earn your living, no instead one day God can just drop this lonely damaged woman who’s family is fucking loaded right on your fucking lap. He was even talking about marrying her and having her kids. In fact he tried, but see he had a problem. His sailors couldn’t fucking swim. Maybe it was all the crack, cocaine and heroine. He was having trouble producing fertile sperm, and Amy was running out of time! And that was the peak of their relationship. He was this close to closing the deal, but when it was game time he fell short. All it is now is one of those memories in your head that’ll have you like “damn, what if…” almost like when you reminisce on a football game thinking about how things could’ve been different if that one play went right.
Look I’ll be honest, I sugarcoated a lot of things. They may have lived in a world of handouts, but that relationship was more toxic than a nuclear wasteland. There’s a lot of fucked up details that I’m choosing to leave out, the psychical and mental abuse from both sides, the drug use. He was a psychopath and she was controlling and halfway demented. There’s a saying “opposites attract” and these two motherfuckers were far from it. They were two trains headed on a full on collision, so it was only a matter of time before disaster struck, and boy did it strike. Within a year I had witnessed a once fun relationship, become episodes of Shameless. At one point we fell off, I don’t remember exactly why, probably because I was tired of constantly being involved in their nasty games, and once again I distanced myself from Swervy.
The last I heard of Amy, she had kicked Swervy out the house and he caught her giving the sloppy toppy at a local park to 3 guys. Some hoodlum niggas, and a skater dude with a face tatt. The last time I seen Swervy he was arms dealing and one day pulled out an AR-15 on me and threatened to shoot me. I heard he’s now locked up currently awaiting trial because he broke into her home. I have a feeling one day I’ll see him on the news with a crazy headline.

2024.06.01 11:03 Electrical-Ad1820 Guide to Willo: Part 1

Willo has recently experienced a boost in its player base. However, this increase isn't up to the standards of one of my mates, who plays Willo excessively. Fair enough, it’s quite frustrating when you manage to save Willo, and the person you give her to is running Scorn and dies before their Deadzone expires. So, he's convinced me to help him make this and post it here. This will be divided into multiple parts because reading long posts is daunting, and writing them is even worse.

Willo Overview

Willo is a damage champion who excels at crowd suppression, area denial, point control, and healing denial. This might seem like a lot, but much of it combines how one will engage with Willo’s kit, which is more or less built around controlling the capabilities of the enemy support and point tank. Most backline/hybrid-agro DPS do this via suppressive levels of damage output. However, Willo’s damage is shallow, but unlike her peers (specifically Betty), she can shut down healing numbers altogether via Deadzone, which I will specifically talk about when I get to that part of Willo’s kit.
Willo’s capabilities will be spread across some arbitrary stats that mean nothing outside of the context of Willo. Still, they do help convey something in a future post about her talents; for now, they function as a baseline, a “default” Willo.

Damage
Willo’s damage is rather low, with her primary fire doing 500 damage per shot every 0.75 seconds, with a DPS of 666.6666 (ad nauseam). Her most impressive damage comes from Seedlings*, with a total of 2000 damage. Her Deadzone outright does only 100 damage, so Willo is quite lacking
*Seedlings are both subject to fall-off, and their fuse time is 2 seconds once they land, giving anyone nearby plenty of time to evade the damage. However, this damage is more than consistent, considering the explosive radius (at 14 units in diameter) is only beaten by Ash’s burst cannon (17 units) and Dredge’s howitzer (15 units).
Sustain Willo’s sustain for the damage role is rather middling, as it’s mostly made up of her mobility and glide, which does provide her a step up compared to the likes of Vivian and Viktor, whose mobility is either non-existent and forces them to rely on other parts of their kit, or prevents the use of their offensive capabilities. However, this doesn’t make up for her frailty, which combines with her poor damage to make engaging in duels rather painful. The only benefit is that you are a slightly smaller size than Willo.
Mobility
As previously mentioned, Willo’s mobility is rather impressive compared to most of the cast, which I guess is a common trend among the blasters now, except Dredge*. This is because of Willo’s Flutter and Glide, giving Willo immense mobility. *Yes, Crow’s Nest exists.
Area Denial
I believe that of the strengths Willo has, her ability to deny space and punish people for trying to push a locked down area is unrivalled. Short of an Omen ult and its crushing levels of damage, no one is outcompeting Willo regarding area denial, even Broadsides have plenty of counterplay, this is because of the potent tool that is Deadzone. While outright it’s not going to kill someone once it's placed, it's also not going to be destroyed or otherwise stopped, the consistent damage that Willo outputs within its radius, combined with seedlings and any support from her team, makes Willo's area denial unrivaled.
Utility
Willo’s utility is pretty good for a Damage Champion, the ability to stop healing outright, is impressive. The provided area denial makes it so Willo is no slouch in terms of utility for her team. However, like most of the damage role, she lacks hard Crowd Control, and more damningly and unique for her, she lacks power against shields and most deployables mean she has to invest in the likes of Wrecker to keep up her suppressive damage and have some value outside of her deadzone.

Willo’s Kit

Now onto the less arbitrary and made up stats, and to the more tangible: Willo’s actual kit. I will explain what the abilities do with the maximum level of depth possible and how best to use them, or I will add other comments. I intend to first mention the parts of Willo’s kit that I feel are most important to explain in depth.
Stats
Class: Damage (gains 100% more credits for dealing damage)
Starting Health: 2200 Base Movement Speed: 375 or 23.08 units per second
Movement Type: Standard (she has no slow fall, momentum, or otherwise unusual modifiers to her walk)

Passive: Glide

Willo has a glide, which I feel shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s played with/against/as Willo, since the feel of the champion has changed dramatically because of the change.
Willo’s glide has a few attributes:
Willo’s Glide is a powerful tool, but it does have certain weaknesses. Specifically, its susceptibility to knockbacks can easily force Willo off course if she doesn’t have Flutter available. To avoid being put somewhere you don’t want to be as Willo, you’ll have to land on the ground or use Flutter.
Unlike Androxus’s Drift, Willo’s Flutter is not affected by her movement speed, except for when changing direction, which instead acts similarly to Buck’s jump in that her air control is near flawless and speed is only reduced by trying to push against where your momentum is pushing you. This introduces the first real part of the Glide: because of how the Glide works on momentum, with your foot speed only modifying direction, this means that if you wish to go back where you started as Willo while gliding without slowing down, you’ll need to do a drift (not to be confused with Androxus’ passive “Drift”). You’ll find this easier on a gamepad/controller since your inputs are on a 360-degree plane. Still, on a keyboard, you’ll be able to control your trajectory regardless of Glide.
You can make sharper turns left or right without delay; however, this does sacrifice some speed based on the mathematics of momentum.

These instructions assume you’re on a keyboard going forward and want to do a 180 and use the standard WASD control scheme.

Step #1) You’ll want to start leaning forward just for a split second before step 2.
W
Step #2) Then diagonally with either strafe keys (we’ll go to the right), you’ll want to hold this until you begin to turn before
WD
Step #3) Then just strafing until you stop going forward altogether. D
Step #4) Start using your back key to begin the transfer backward. You want to hold this slightly longer to make sure you’re beginning to properly turn since normally backpedalling is slower.
DS
Step #5) You’ll want to stop strafing and lean back.
S

These instructions assume you’re on a gamepad/controller and are going forward and want to do a 180.

You’ll want to do a half-circle motion with a gamepad or controller. Once halfway through said motion, you’ll want to make the rest of the turn slower since the foot speed of all champions is slightly slower backward compared to going forward.
Willo can maintain her momentum by hitting herself with her primary attack, where she sacrifices her health and ammo to maintain her low-flying airtime and momentum, giving her the ability to roll out. That also combines well with certain high-ground positions to preserve Flutter for future use; as well, as carry and even enhance the momentum provided by Flutter. This again comes at the risk of leaving yourself more vulnerable in combat since you’re at lower health and less Ammo.
You can also skip most of this if you don’t care about facing the same direction, by using your mouse or the stick you aim with in conjunction with your forward and strafe inputs to get similar results, with less work though you are lacking the ability to face the same direction.
I mentioned earlier that the Glide has momentum both horizontally and vertically, and that can be quite the detriment since unlike Andro who’s a flat fall rate, and Drogoz which has an upward lifting force Glide has neither so if you start falling you’re not likely to slow down your descent, which makes the passive rather committal.

Primary Fire

“Wand of Overgrowth” (from here shall be generally referred to as WoO or simply primary fire) is a relatively larger but also relatively weaker AoE attack, compared to Drogoz’s Rocket Launcher and Evie’s Ice staff, in return for the weaker per shot damage, WoO is slightly faster, the firing speed more comparable to Dredge’s Howitzer and Bomb King’s Sticky Bombs.
Stats of Wand of Overgrowth
Willo’s Primary has some decent capabilities in terms of landing hits and applying Cauterize (you have no idea how much I want to spell it Cauterise), with a decent speed projectile and large AoE, and a fairly fast fire rate on direct impact, the AoE’s damage falloff and tiny effective range means that to do any meaningful damage as Willo you have to land direct hits. And to try not to get too close to your target, you don’t need to give them an extra 100 damage every shot in your fight. There are however times to consider using consistent damage over prioritizing maximised damage, this is especially true if dealing with crowds, chokepoints, or targets that may be a bit too mobile to consistently land shots on, this is why optimised splash damage is much more important than inconsistent direct hits, of course, it’s still paramount that you do try to make your damage as close to target as possible otherwise you risk doing 125 damage per shot from being lazy.

Deadzone

Deadzone is Willo’s key ability, and most potent tool, which is kind of odd, considering that I thought to talk about her Glide and Primary first, and that’s because for the most part deadzone works like how you’d expect, there’s very little that’s too surprising about how it works, I guess anything that would make it surprising just makes it easier to use at full effect, nothing too crazy. Still, it’s incredibly powerful and it’s the reason why Willo’s area denial is so good, since the threat it has is deceptively lethal, and it

It’s not surprising how deadzone works if you’ve played Willo, the biggest thing to remember is that line of sight does matter, and that if you’re hoping to deny healing is that you’ll have to remember to shoot around corners.
There are three main thought processes with Deadzone use cases you want to stop people from going somewhere
1)Area Denial
For the most part, your enemies don’t want to stand in the spot where they can’t get healed and likely these spots can be certain chokepoints, flank routes, or even the point
2)Crowd Control
Very similar to area denial though more proactive, this is aiming to where the people are, often in groups but also at points you want people to leave, this is usually done in conjunction with your Primary attack.
3)Heal Denial
Sometimes you want to ensure someone is dead, and that you want to stop their team -short of a Rei Rivivify- from changing that, this is especially good against Ying, and Grover’s ultimates as the duration after can lead to them getting killed even if they leave the zone.
Deadzone has an incredibly long cooldown of 16 seconds to balance out its impressive power, especially in the damage role only outdone by Drogoz’s Salvo (20 seconds) and Octavia’s Distortion Field (18 seconds) so one has to be judicious with how they choose to utilize Deadzone, often its more important to prioritize the Area Denial, and Crowd control aspects over the Value that might be found in heal denial, especially since in her base kit Willo isn’t the greatest at confirming these kills herself and without coordination might not be possible to otherwise confirm the kills making the use of deadzone in these situations potentially wasteful.

Flutter

Flutter more or less combines with the Glide otherwise acts as how you’d expect it to, with the small quirk that depending on how you angle it you keep some momentum once the ability is done done, with the further you aim up the less momentum and the more downwards you aim the more momentum you gain, though this momentum is best utilized with Glide at a somewhat forward facing angle up or down depending on if you need verticality or horizontal clearance, however, it comes with a need for one’s best judgement.
Oh, like most channeled movement abilities Willo is immune to knockbacks during the time.

Fae Flight

Fae Flight is more or less what you’d know from playing the game and seeing it at work or reading its description though some use cases aren’t immediately clear.
The ultimate gives you infinite ammo which allows Willo if in a good position to lay continuous fire on enemies, or even use it aggressively, using superior movement and crowd control immunity to overwhelm your enemies by chasing them down since you still are remarkably fast however do not get overzealous since there's seldom cover for Willo in the air and matchups can turn sour quickly if you’re not able to be reached by your team.

Conlcusion

Overall Willo in the base kit is frail to being dived, and her DPS isn’t all that impressive but has some of the most lethal area denials in the game, however, as many of you are quite aware Willo has plenty more in store to make up soon I’ll be posting follow ups guides to further aid those interesting in learning Willo in more depth.

I don't even know where to start so I'll start at the beginning of the latest episode. This probably won't be short so buckle up for the ride. I don't know what else to do at this point aside from cry myself to sleep all the while slowly dying a financial death. My life is in ruins and no matter what I do I can't seem to fix it.
In this latest event my home was flooded by my neighbors upstairs. For context I live in a condo unit with people above me and below me. The unit above me shower and washer dryer water ended up going in-between my walls and flooding my flooring in my home. The remediation company tallied an estimate of about 45k in damages. They did the initial work of gutting my home, then told me they needed to be paid before they continue. Ok fine no big deal that's why I have insurance right?
Well I reach out to my insurance and then I can't get ahold of anyone, then I get a message that they will send an inspector, the inspector comes out, i explain what was impacted, and then he leaves. Weeks go by and I'm not getting anywhere, no answers from my insurance.
I'm living in a hotel at this time and spending money like I apparently have money to blow, never spent money like that before, nor do I have it, and to top it off I don't live in a cheap US state. So hotel fees, pet fees, food from eating out everyday etc, In 10 weeks I'm out close to 40k.
The hotel is something out of my nightmares, it's the cheapest one I could find that wouldn't limit my 3 pets. So to paint a picture, the paint is peeling off the walls, the bathroom has a moisture and likely a mold problem, the door to the world has a 2 inch gap, and the reviews state that it's where criminals go to hide from the police.
So all the holidays go by including my birthday, during this time I tried to get some kind of movement on getting my home repaired. But it's just not happening. Insurance is giving me the run around telling me to talk to my HOA, I do that and my HOA tells me it's not their problem. All the while it's not my fault either. So I tried to go and have the unit above me fix it but they say my insurance needs to go after them. I'm stuck in this endless loop.
Ultimately on my birthday the HOA denies my claim, I tell my insurance and they turn around cut me a check for 14.5k minus my deductible of course. That's it, they wash their hands of me and I'm balling my eyes out in an IHOP because that doesn't cover anything. That won't cover repairs, it won't cover what I'm out for loss of use, I'm just f*cked. I rejected the check and told them that's not adequate, but instead of listening to me they just turned around closed my case and sent me a survey.
So I pivot I can't live in this hotel anymore I'm going to be homeless if I don't do something quick. So I do the repairs on my own, I know how to do the repairs, I did them already 3 years prior when I did some renovations on my home. I'll just do them again, I took vacation from work for 2 weeks and busted my butt, to make the place kinda liveable.
At the end of the two weeks the walls were up, I had a working toilet, kitchen sink, and bathtub. Can't use the shower since the walls aren't totally sealed but if I'm careful I can at least bird bath it.
Since then I've installed the flooring started painting and get the stuff in the house organized to a point that it's starting to look like home again.
I ended up taking more time off work to get it done in time for a home inspection, my lender wanted to see my progress, my goal was 85% and it paid off! I'm there at the 85% mark, but it's all been out of my own pocket, my own energy, and life blood.
I've tried hiring 4 Attorneys at this point and have been turned down because they want more money that I don't have to fight a case they tell me it's not worth their time.
So I've got the remediation company that the neighbors hired to mitigate the damage coming after me for payment. I've taken as much as I can out of my 401k to cover all these new expenses that I shouldn't be having to pay and my insurance just not caring.
I'm drowning in what feels like a river of despair, I'm happy my home is almost done but the majority of the work left is tiling my bathroom putting up the door that was there etc. So still bird bathing it until I have more time off to do the tile.
I just want to give up and surrender, I'm so tired mentally, physically, and emotionally that I'm depressed to the point that I can barely function. I am talking to a therapist because my mind started to get too dark, since I can't seem to get help for something i didn't create. I pay my bills on time, I have insurance but none of it matters, I'm not rich enough to sue which means I'm just going to have to eat this, but I shouldn't have to. I shouldn't have my life ruined because of a busted pipe that doesn't even belong to me......
What do I do? Do I try and keep finding an attorney ? Do I keep trying to work with my insurance company?any advice is appreciated, I'm sorry for the sob story I'm just at my wits end and needed to tell someone before I lose my mind completely.

I don't closely follow iiit delhi's placement like I do with other nit's that I have reviewed but I have a descent understanding and internal sources to help me out.
First of all the seat matrix remained consistent which is a good sign. Typically 20-25% of the placements are through ppo and it is a good sign because it helps when the market is dull for only one year and revives in the consecutive year. Lot of good companies(b**,g*****,u**,t**) hire in good number from here but this year the placement percentage is only 67% so far.
If the market remains the same next year iiit delhi will suffer a lot as there was a significant dip in the number of interns offered. There are few fundamental issues one is you can only do a 6months intern if you fulfil the academic requirement thus losing lot of 6m+fte firms. There are lot of other rules like companies can't conduct drive on weekdays unless it is a friday. The other big issue is how the placement cell functions see either you have a proper team of 7+ people to call new companies or let the students handle it. For IIIT delhi they seems to be more focused on past recruiters or the companies that added IIIT delhi for the first time added on their own.
I will give reviews of other clgs but I will prioritize clgs which you have to avoid. This year I did some paid counselling help so I can't help you compare clgs but I will give individual reviews. The story behind the paid counselling is every year 5-10 relatives reach out asking for counselling choice preferences I invest so much time after my job and explain them my choice order. Last year one of them joined a college which I explicitly told to not join by watching some youtube review. So this year who ever is reaching out via relatives I am sharing my pamphlet either they are now ignoring me or taking me more seriously

Recently I started catching up with RM having stopped at the episode before So Min's last ep. I was rather surprised at how much I was enjoying it despite the departure of So Min and wasn't really feeling the two reoccurring guys, although the stutter tongue twister was gold.
Fast forward a little bit and we hit YJS' history tour. This is the worst episode of RM I've ever watched. It took me like 10 days to finish it 🤭 Towards the end, I just started fast forwarding, I believe my first time in 600 episodes watched.
From there it kinda just started getting real boring and now I'm at the spring episode where they're just driving to a theme park the whole episode? If it wasn't for YSC's poop emergency that whole ride would be a total bore.
How's the ratings? When Hyung-in came in, I felt like she was gonna bring back RM to its peak. I think she started off with a penalty for JSM and YSC on a high rise platform. I was like dayum, Hyung-in starting off like this?!
Now it just seems like she's just trying to make the cast happy with food tours and driving around.
I should add I don't care about physical activities, I'm not a fan of name tag race at all except for the early years where there were added layers to it. So the whole "they're old and can't do x, y, z" is fine by me. The episode these days just seem really boring and doesn't really give the cast much to work with. Even having a spy or secret mission could spice things up during a cooking episode, or a food tour.

I’m 28M, I think I’ve seen some hardships for my age. I saw my family losing all money and house because of relatives’ stab in the back, I went from irresponsible 20 yr old to becoming so responsible I was sleeping only 3 or 4 hrs everyday for 2 years and it spoiled my health so much that I was afraid I was not going to make it for very long. And had to go through ADHD for next couple of years and got out of that in silence by myself, without telling anyone. I have seen effects of debt, got my family out of bankruptcy and bought them a house recently, after so much hard work. In the process I had to let go the only love of my life for over 6 years, ghosted her and asked her to look after her life because of religion, caste and social status problems(I’m from India and caste is a major problem here, it might even get you and your parents killed). This is the greatest regret of my life and it hurts everyday.
At every stage in my years of hardship, I always thought, If I get more money, switch career, leave the town or something and the problem will be over. That’s not true at all. At every stage no matter what you are, something new keeps coming. And I slide right into the regular imagination, childhoods were awesome, wish I was a low salary employee again, life was so simple. And I know that’s not practical at all.
How did you people in the 30s, 40s, 50s and above handle this realisation? I know all of you have gone through more hardships, what are your thoughts now? Any advice or anything you’d give someone like me?
P.s: Before someone thinks I’m disturbed and feel bad for me. I’m totally normal, I’m just wondering how to deal with all these as a man and just seeking wisdom from people who have seen it all.

I was looking at [[Teferi, Temporal Archmage]] and I feel like the only reason his emblem is on an ultimate is because you can activate abilities 4 times per turn cycle. So what about a commander that lets you activate the abilities on your opponents turns but only once per turn cycle.
You may activate loyalty abilities of planeswalkers you control on any player’s turn any time you could cast an instant. Whenever you activate a loyalty ability of a planeswalker you control, that planeswalker gains "You can't activate loyalty abilities of this planeswalker until your next turn."
I'm not sure how much mana it should cost. Also unsure if it should be a commander or a Legendary Artifact like "The Chain Veil" to have it fit all planeswalker decks. Thanks in advance for all suggestions

I've thought about writing this sooo many times and finally I Am. It all started 15 years ago when I (36F) got engaged to now husband (39M) we had dated when we was teenagers and even though we loved each other a lot I split with him, I was young and definitely dumb But we remained friends even though I broke his heart, he was always there for me and when I fell pregnant at 16 he was always there if I needed him for anything, we where best friends and no matter if I had a boyfriend that didn't like me having a male friend I'd never cut him out, roll on to being 21 and I was in a bad relationship, moved to a different town and was isolated but he came and got me and my daughter, brought us to safety from there we realized we didn't want to be apart again. In the 3 months of being back in my home town we had got a house together and he proposed to me. My dad thought it was too quick and wouldn't last but supported me because I told him this is real and we want to be together for Life, my mum on the other hand was very excited for us as she had always liked my husband which was very rare, she was an alcoholic and I use the term mum very loosely. We saved and paid for the wedding ourselves so that we could start married life without debt or needing to ask for help from our families, we wanted to do it for us. 3 years of saving and everything booked our day came!! I was so happy that I was going to have my man and he'd be my husband. We'll start off with the fact my mum wore an off white dress with a little white hat, even though her dress was white I didn't let it dampen my sparkle because I was about to become a wife. The wedding ceremony went well but the reception is where it went down hill! Knowing how my mum is for alcohol I had previously told her no spirits and please limit yourself as to not get stupid drunk and ruin my night, well this is my mum and of course she wasn't going to listen. On the way to the reception she stopped off at a shop to buy a bottle of vodka so she didn't have to pay bar prices and could get drunk quickly, I was walking around talking to our guests and all of a sudden a drunken mother comes up behind me and was screaming and shouting that someone had stolen her handbag (her bag was on the back of the seats she was at where she left it!) she wanted to check people! She tried to grab a friends pushchair and accused her of stealing it then as the pushchair was pulled away from her she slipped!! I heard that sound NO bride wants to hear, the rip off stitches on my wedding dress, she had fallen on the train! At this point I was beyond upset and ready to blow I ask my husband please get her out of here and away from me before I did something id regret, he moved her outside and away from me but I could hear shouting outside so went to see what was happening and of course it was my monster! Causing havoc and refusing to leave. I was so over it and actually wanted the reception to end so she'd leave but that wasn't going to happen so I took things into my own hands! I called a taxi and told her if she didn't get in it she would never be welcome around me, my daughter or husband again. After some back and forth my aunty got her in the taxi and we enjoyed the rest of the night. 5am the next day I hear banging on my door it's a hung over monster wanting to come in. I calmly replied no sorry, shut my door and went back to bed. I felt so guilty but from that day on I set boundaries with my mum. I could write a book on things this woman has done from me being very young but this situation was one that pushed me too far. After years of Gas lighting, neglect and being used I cut her off completely and now it has been 9 years since I have seen or had anything to do with her, it was honestly the best decision I ever made. Me and hubby are so happy still and we will have been married 12 years this year. Our love grows for each other everyday and now our daughter has pretty much moved out we enjoy each other's company even more. So that's my wedding drama.

  • May started with Alec appearing on the “Our Way with Paul Anka and Skip Bronson” podcast. I tried recapping it, but it was basically three boring privileged old white men rambling about their wealth and privilege. Anka’s description of living in a “Murdoch created” gated community near Malibu near the “good airport” – to avoid the unwashed masses at LAX one presumes – was where I gave up on the recap idea and just listened with a scowl.

On Having More Kids & Moving to Vermont
Alec: Well, in my family now, I'm the only person I know who drops four kids off at school in the morning and comes home and I still have three kids waiting for me. When I get home, I have seven - I have eight children. Ireland, my oldest daughter who's married, Ireland has a baby, and she and her boyfriend are living in Oregon. And I met my wife and I got remarried and I had seven kids in nine years. It's crazy. (I think you meant to say, “my wife is batshit crazy.” The devil is in the details, Zander)
And then, all of a sudden, I met my wife, who I love dearly, (I think he repeats this in virtually every interview to counter the years of talking shit about Kim Basinger) every time the baby would get to be two years old, we’d go, maybe it's time for one more baby, one more baby, so we have seven kids. But we're actually selling our house, moving to Vermont. We bought a place in Vermont, and I'm trying to get everybody to start to acclimate up there…I think my wife wants a little change of scenery now, it's so crowded out here…I love Vermont. It's so peaceful. We got a great deal. We got fifty-five acres; house was built in 1792. It's very pretty.
The Kids Want Alec Around All the Time
Host: What do you do away from your family? Meaning, do you play golf? Do you play tennis?
Alec: I play tennis all summer...The thing that's happened in these last ten years, especially the last three or four years, is my kids are used to me being around…I mean they really rely on that… when I'm gone, they're like, you know, they're on FaceTime. If I travel to go away for a couple of days to get a paycheck, they’re on my FaceTime going you know, where are you? What are you doing? You know, they're completely baffled when I go away. (God bless those kiddos and I’m preeetttttty sure they rely on Leonela/Leonetta a whole lot.)
Drug & Alcohol Use
Alec: Every day for two years, I think I snorted a line of cocaine from here to Saturn. We did one on the rings of Saturn. Then we came home. We took it back home. I mean, cocaine was like coffee back and everybody was doing it all day. I did a lot of coke and then I and then February 23rd, 1985…I stopped doing drugs and my drinking increased, which is they tell you that's going to happen, and that did happen. I just started drinking. I mean, and the thing, I miss drinking. I don't miss drugs at all, but I do miss drinking. I like to drink. (I appreciate next to nothing about this man, but I appreciate the honesty of this statement).
Host: But because you don't drink, and because you don't do drugs, what do you do? Do you meditate? What do you do to deal with the pressures of the outside, you know, forces, (I think you mean “lawsuits”, Paul) what do you do to get away from that?
Alec: (deadpan) Drink. I drink. I lied; I've been drinking nonstop since 1985. I lie. I tell people I'm sober and I drink my balls off. (Laughs) But no, I do miss drinking, I must say…New York relaxes me. I walk around and I see aspects of it that I've never seen before. I look at a building and I'll go, my god, I never noticed that about that building. Those doors. You know. New York is like a European city. You walk around and keep your eyes open. And I have lunches and coffee with my friends. (Um is he talking about the owner of Madman Espresso? Because that’s the only coffee related person we’ve ever seen him around.) And, I'd like to get out of here because the city is chaotic. (But also relaxing? What the hell?) But we live in the village. It's a little bit more residential. I love New York. I go to the symphony and the opera and the ballet all the time, you know, pretty regularly. But I do try to meditate. Meditating with seven children is like trying to play ping pong on the deck of an aircraft. It's a real pain in the ass. (But they rely on you, Alec?!?!)
  • Back on IG, Alec commented on a video that Ireland posted of Kim Basinger and Ireland’s partner, André, playing with baby Holland, apparently in the backyard of Kim’s home. The doting abuelo’s comment was “I know that pool deck!” – dude, say something, ANYTHING, about your daughter’s child.
He probably screamed at poor Kim on that pool deck.

  • People magazine published a puff piece entitled “Alec Baldwin Is 'Understandably Worried' as His Rust Involuntary Manslaughter Trial Looms” (Exclusive Source). Here’s the entirely of what the exclusive source Yoel had to say:

  • Surprisingly, Alec did not post a tribute to his wife to honor her “mi cultura upbringing” on the first Sunday in May - when it's celebrated in Spain.
  • On May 6th, Alec’s lawyers vultures-for-hire filed additional motions to have the case dismissed while Said the Pap for hire posted a pic of himself with Crackhead Barney (who was wearing not much besides some Daisy Dukes a la Hillary Lynn) and Alec was spotted in the wild (with a nanny in tow, because only the peasants walk around without staff).

  • Over on his scintillating IG account, Alec posted the news that he will be co-directing a production of Macbeth with Geoffrey Horne for Shakespeare Downtown this summer. Good thing this will be in June, because there might be a bit of a scheduling conflict for Alec in July.
  • Alec posted two pictures of Edu: one totally scrunched in a too-small stroller and one making the patented Baldwin duck lips. Against all logic, the pic of the kid perched on a tiny stroller became the picture Alec chose as his new profile pic.
  • On Mother’s Day, Alec dug deep, looked back on his grid, landed on this picture he first posted in December 2023 and said, “this is the one!” It features Alec, his wife, one of their 7 kids, two very hungry caterpillars, and stars the ubiquitous Madman Espresso single use coffee cup. ¡Feliz día de la madre, Híláríá!

It’s cute – who doesn’t love a baby in a onesie trying to talk and toddling around?   • Alec’s defense team added 9 new witnesses on the last day they were permitted to do so (5/6/24) and did not provide witness statements. Prosecutors argued that this was done in bad faith and that “the State has now been prejudiced by the defendant's strategy to gain a tactical advantage as the State is unable to file pretrial motions as it relates to the new witnesses, is unable to properly investigate the statements of the witnesses and list its own new witnesses to refute the testimony of the belatedly disclosed witnesses.” So on 5/31, the prosecutors moved to exclude the witnesses from the trial. 2024.06.01 10:44 Beneficial_Water_826 [US-UT] Rental deposit

Looking for advice.
March 15: I applied for an apartment that had a $200 monthly concession for 12 months. Two weeks later (end of May), I paid a $500 deposit to secure the apartment until June, for my move-in date. When I asked for the contract, the Leasing Manager declined and told me to come back closer to June to sign the contract. At the time, I didn't think anything wrong about it.
May 15: Leasing Manager told me he'd made a mistake and that the $200 concession was only a move-in special for the first month and that he would refund my deposit (not the application fee) if I didn't want to move forward with the updated agreement.
May 31: Today, I went to the office to review the lease and to my surprise the total was twice as much as I agreed to when I applied, so I decided to back out and get my deposit refunded to which he refused.
How can I pressure them to refund my deposit? I have not been able to contact the company that manages this apartment complex and the Leasing Manager clearly does not want to help.
