 | got this 2000 323i touring that i picked up for real cheap with a bad transmission. i’m looking to manual swap this car and do it as budget friendly as possible (primarily using what is available to me at junkyards) i have a supposedly fully functional getrag 220 sitting in my garage, along with a clutch and flywheel off a spare m52tub28 motor in the garage, and i just picked up full shift linkage from a 318 e36 at the junkyard today along with the transmission crossmember. my questions are: submitted by zaytwokay to e46 [link] [comments] -will the getrag 220 fit in the early model e46? -if not what modification can be done? -will the e36 318 shift linkage fit this e46 with the getrag 220? -will the transmission crossmember fit? pictures on the internet look identical or have slightly different mounting slots -what parts for an e46 manual swap can be sourced from other cars if i need to improvise? |

Raised like a son by one of the project leads, Dr. Abel Stack, Machine Man was thrust into a world not ready to accept him when Abel sacrificed his life to remove a built-in self destruct chip meant as a failsafe. Despite the government's persecution of his existence, he would become a superhero and honorary member of the Avengers, saving the lives of people no matter if they viewed him as a man or merely a machine.

2014 Civic LX My front passenger outer side weight sensor has failed due to fault code 83-31. I can't find the part numbers to the weight sensors but I do find the entire rail with the weight sensors included, 81166-TR6-L01 is it possible to buy the rail and then swap the weight sensors or do I need to swap the entire rails? I am trying to find where/how to remove the sensors but it seems tricky. Is it possible to buy a new seat with cushions already and I would just drop in the new seat? I am also considering buying a used/junkyard seat but it's possible those sensors are bad/die soon too.

Having trouble deciding between a 2019/2020 Dodge Durango RT or a 2017-2019 Mercedes-Benz GLS450. Both are very similar in their capabilities and similar in driving. Price of these two used...are about the same with the same mileage (which makes it harder for me to go Dodge). Same horsepower (slight torque advantage to dodge, but at higher rpm). Both about the same size and weight.
I'd be getting them anywhere between 35-50k in mileage. Would plan to keep it for...as long as possible. Don't like to switch out cars too often. I've had my current merc for 8 years and it's 24 years old but I also don't put too much mileage on cars these days (less than 8k a year).

- Durango with the 5.7 and ZF8 speed seem like a reliable combination - unsure about the rest of the car. It's missing a lot of features and quality that the Mercedes offers. Parts are at least plentiful and cheap.
- The Mercedes GLS450 has the M276 DELA (3.0TT) and 9 speed auto which also seem very reliable. Interior quality is great as expected and seems to hold up much better than any offering in the Durango. Examples I'm looking at have tons of features, 360 camera, ambient lighting, etc.

Will they evaluate its value based on parts, or will they charge money due to “hazardous materials” or whatever? Should he have a local mechanic take out any of the “good” parts for maybe selling on eBay?
Just tryna figure out the best way to recover even a little $$ from a total loss. TIA!

I love parking my camper van in front of a hot zone and watching players just stare at me through the windows, knowing damn well they can't get me. I actively drive my armored car through clan AK gunfights just to fuck around and try to run people over lol.
Magazine gets sprayed at the camper? Just bring it back to the garage, spent a tiny bit of wood and frags, and you're fixed.
Sometimes I kill an animal, get the meat, cook it in the camper barbecue, and just sit and wait for it to cook in front of the gas pumps at oxum's.
I can just freely travel the entire map with zero fear of getting hurt. If I want to step outside or mine a node, I just throw my kit away and hop outside naked with a pickaxe. If I die, just respawn in the camper and drive off with my kit.
I have like 5 cars in my garage and I like to build up run-down cars for nakeds I see, just cause it's fun to design things for them and see what they want me to make them.
TBF most of that is just dicking around, but practically speaking, they're awesome. You can roll a camper van up to a raid and have your mates constantly respawn. Or you can stuff the loot in a storage box and drive off invincible. Freely get to and from outpost in a minute or two.
They're not even expensive, to get a car running just find the junk parts along streets and break a red barrel for some low grade. You don't even have to make a lift to modify it, just take it to the one at junkyard.

Unfortunately I’m having such a hard time finding a replacement door handle. From what I understand the pre 86 107s had a different style chrome door handle that won’t fit on the 86-89 cars. My question is there Mercedes from that era that shares the same door handle that’ll fit on the 560SL? I’m at my whits end. Thanks

2024.06.02 23:55 zensnapple Did the F-150 center console swap today.
 | Fun mod, fits very well. Does feel a liiiiiiittle janky but beats the hell out of the og console. Total cost, ~$28, no ragrets. I've seen in other posts where there isn't really a gap between the sub and the console, but I couldn't figure out how to scoot it that close, and I like the extra few inches of space so my elbow doesn't hit the arm rest while I'm shifting. How to do it: Search "F150 lariat parts" on fb marketplace or Craigslist, look for years 2004-2008 with the floor shifter hole, and find someone parting out their old truck. These things are everywhere and a rando parting out an old F150 will be less likely to know that these are $250 on eBay than a junkyard would be. Took sending three messages before I found someone who wanted $25 for theirs. They were an hour away but I needed an excuse to make the trip up to a brewery I like thataways anyway so fuck it. Two L brackets for a buck fifty apiece, some screws and small bolts/nuts I had laying around to attach the brackets to the top of the old console and the inside of the new one, cut the front plastic mounting brackets off with an angle grindehacksaw/whatever, file em down, and it's installed in an hour and for ~$30. If you can't steal one from marketplace, a junkyard or pick and pull or element specialist website like elementdiy.com will have them for less than 250 usually if you shop around. TL;DR: is ECM for those two engines the same and just needs reflashed?
Hi all! Considering going away from the 1.5L EcoBust engine in my wife's car. Has the blown head gasket/using coolant condition that the local stealership is refusing to acknowledge because I'm only 8k miles from the end of the warranty.
I figure drive it till it dies and then swap to the only non-EcoBust engine Ford offered in the '19 Fusions - the 2.5 IVCT Duratec engine. There are 2 of those engines in my local junkyard right now. Buy one, strip it down and rebuild it, have it waiting on a stand for when the buster finally blows and buy all the other conversion parts I'll need while waiting.
I know it'll bolt up to the trans and I'll need to get the engine mounts and all the other plumbing pieces.
My question is about the engine wiring harness and ECM. I looked up the ECM on a Ford stealership website and it shows its the same ECM for all 4 engines. Makes me think I can hookup the 2.5's harness to my original ECM and all it needs is a reflash.
But nothing is ever THAT simple. What am I missing? What's Ferd's evil little anti-DIY trick that's going to bit me when I start working on the swap?

You need to research specific models, not make sweeping generalizations based on brand. If you just go off of brand you can get a bad deal, or worse buy a bad model among otherwise good ones.

A: You should just get a beater. You get a sports camuscle car and your insurance will be through the roof. Kids die driving fast and cool cars every day. Also, you probably can't afford to maintain actual performance cars. It's not cheap to get actual performance, guys.

Detail your requirements, wants, and nice-to-haves. Look for cars that meet those requirements. Go to the sub for that brand and search for information on that car and how it is buying it. Google "How to negotiate for a car reddit." Then go test drive the car.
