Autotune trial
How to autotune?
2024.05.01 07:54 Foodlover003 How to autotune?
I have the free trial version of Melodyne, and I'm trying to learn how to autotune vocals that I recorded to improve my singing (with sounds horrible at the moment). I've noticed that Melodyne has an option to edit individual notes, but that's not exactly what I'm looking for. I'd like to have the program know exactly what notes I should be singing based on the song and automatically correct my pitch/vocals in the entire song with the push of a button. How do I do this?

2024.04.15 22:06 SolidFyre FLAC Vocal Weirdness
So I just decided to try out Tidal for the second time and am currently on the 7 day Trial.
I tried it out about 2 years ago but decided to stay with Spotify since too many of my favorites were missing in Tidal. Started out by doing a migration of all my Spotify now and manage to migrate all 20266 songs except about 300 of them, acceptable losses I guess.
I did a side to side comparison with Spotify and have already noticed a quite substantial difference in clarity which is very nice, even when just playing on "High", which I recon is CD quality. Stuff sounds less muddy and there's more aiseparation between all sounds.
I then went up to MAX/FLAC and tried out "Kx5 - Escape" because it was the only one I found on hand that was in Max quality and I noticed some "weirdness" in the vocals. It almost sounds like the vocals are recorded over discord with a wireless headset with bad connection. Not sure how to describe it, "metallic" I guess, or low bitrate? Almost like a badly applied autotune. It's not supposed to sound like that.
Lowering quality sort of masks this about 80% and listening to it on Spotify doesn't really give me that experience.
Anyone who can explain this phenomenon?
Is FLAC simply revealing flaws in the production or could it be that the source file is upsampled to FLAC from a lower quality file instead of being an actual FLAC source, or something else? Doesn't sound like something Deadmau5 would do though, pretty sure he would upload the best source available to distributions đ€·ââïž
Only tried this track as for now, somewhat hard to compare different productions to each other as there are so many factors that varies.

2024.02.01 18:00 skylofte2 50 Songs You May Have Missed in 2023
Hi everyone! Last year, I made of list of
50 Songs You May Have Missed in 2022, and I'm doing it again this year!
I've pulled from a wide variety of genres and artists, but ultimately every song is one that I believe my fellow Popheads will enjoy. I spent a lot of time on this so I'm super eager to hear from people! What songs do you already know? Were there any releases that you missed? What recommendations do you have for people that like a certain song? Let me know!
FFO = for fans of.
Now, in order of release, here are 50 songs you may have missed in 2023:
Tennis - Letâs Make a Mistake Tonight / from: Pollen
- Colorado, US
- FFO: Beach House, Kate Bush
- Itâs dark, itâs hazy, itâs groovy, and itâs ethereal. Letâs Make a Mistake Tonight is the second single from indie pop duo Tennisâ sixth album, and itâs giving Running Up That Hill Ă la 2023. For best results, listen late at night while driving on the highway, as is referenced repeatedly in the lyrics: âLet's cruise in the vesper night / Concrete in the headlights.â
5p Nips (feat. swaggylotti) - ICH BIN DIE BITCH - Germany
- FFO: Tiësto, Brooke Candy
- I have no recollection of discovering this song, it simply appeared in my library one day, and it bangs so I havenât questioned it. ICH BIN DIE BITCH (âIâm The Bitchâ) is a club-ready techno track with a super catchy chorus, which, despite speaking no German, Iâve pretty much memorized at this point.
KÀÀrijÀ - Cha Cha Cha - Finland
- FFO: Vengaboys, ABBA
- I had dabbled in Eurovision over the years, but I had never fully gotten into it. That is, until I saw KÀÀrijĂ€âs performance of Cha Cha Cha at Finlandâs national selection and I became encapsulated. The strange combination of EDM, metal, and rap. The manic, dead-eyed dancers. The energy, the stage presence, the ridiculousness of it allâI was immediately obsessed. Cha Cha Cha is a boatload of funâand yes, KÀÀrijĂ€ was robbed!
INJI - THE ONE / from: LFG (EP)
- Turkey
- FFO: Charli XCX, Ava Max
- Maybe this is self-incrimination for having the brain of a toddler, but damn do I love a song with counting! âI got two, three lovers in my life / Four, five fellas on my mindâ INJI sings in THE ONEâs refrain. This song is a standout from LFG, her debut EP. Like the rest of the project, THE ONE is a bouncy, cheeky, and lighthearted pop track that shows off INJIâs coy songwriting and nonchalant but enticing voice.
Jodie Harsh - Hectic - England, UK
- FFO: Charli XCX, Danny L Harle
- Many drag queens are active in the music industry, but few are as acclaimed as Jodie Harsh. She has many accolades, including production credits on Charli XCXâs Vroom Vroom EP. After listening to her chaotic single Hectic, this shouldnât be too surprising. The bumping house beat and heavy use of autotune are reminiscent of Charli and make this song a blast. See also: Jodie Harshâs music video for her rendition of In My House by the Mary Jane Girls, featuring over 50 drag queens from the UK.
Lil Yachty - drive ME crazy! / from: Letâs Start Here
- Georgia, US
- FFO: Tame Impala, Unknown Mortal Orchestra
- This had to have been one of the most unexpected releases of 2023. Trap artist Lil Yachty (featured on 2016 smash hit Broccoli by DRAM) caught us off guard with his psychedelic rock album, Letâs Start Here. drive ME crazy! is a highlightâitâs upbeat and super groovy, and featured artist Diana Gordanâs voice really makes the song shine.
RHYME SO (feat. Sophie Ellis-Bextor & Wuh Oh) - DEEP IN VOGUE - Japan
- FFO: Hikaru Utada, RĂłisĂn Murphy
- RHYME SO is the musical duo of Australian musician RHYME and legendary Japanese producer Shinichi Osawa (stage name: Mondo Grosso). They worked with English pop legend Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Scottish producer Wuh Oh on their cover of Malcolm McLarenâs 1989 single, Deep in Vogue, which is stacked with samples and references from legendary documentary Paris Is Burning. Have I mentioned that the song is legendary? The fresh take on this classic has lush and atmospheric production, rich saxophone riffs, and crisp vocals from RHYME and Ellis-Bextor. See also: RHYME SOâs severely iconic and campy music video for Fashion Blogger.
Samia - Honey / from: Honey
- New York, US
- FFO: Clairo, boygenius
- From her second album, Honey, indie pop artist Samia stated that the title track is about âbeing drunk all the time and being around people that were in [âŠ] toxic relationships,â but you certainly wouldnât get that from the upbeat and chipper instrumentals. Honey is primarily driven by acoustic guitar strums that youâd hear sitting around a campfire. These allusions continue into the songâs final chorus, where a chanting ensemble brings the song to its hypnotic end: âIt's all honey, honey / It's all honey.â
SG Lewis - Another Life / from: AudioLust & HigherLove
- England, UK
- FFO: Tove Lo, Jessie Ware
- SG Lewisâ AudioLust & HigherLove was my most-listened to album of 2023, in large part due to Another Life. I still remember hitting play on the album right at midnight of its release date, hearing Another Lifeâs instrumental break for the first time, and absolutely transcending to the swelling of the synths and violins. This is deep house at its finest.
Anna of the North - Swirl / from: Crazy Life (Deluxe)
- Norway
- FFO: Sigrid, Dagny
- If itâs pop music coming from a girl from the Scandinavian peninsula, you know itâs gonna be good, and Anna of the North is no exception. On Swirl, the Norwegian songstress goes full dream pop. Everything about this song is blissful and carefree. From the hazy vocals to the soft drum beats, this encapsulating song genuinely does feel like a swirl.
Juan Pablo Vega (feat. Ximena Sariñana) - Tenemos que hablar / from: DespĂdeme de Todxs
- Colombia
- FFO: Kacey Musgraves, Bob Marley
- Colombian singer-songwriter Juan Pablo Vega teamed up with Mexicoâs Ximena Sariñana for the soft and wistful single Tenemos que hablar (âWe Have To Talkâ). The song is a conversation between two lovers who are essentially mourning their relationship. Gentle guitar strums flow throughout the track and the soulful singing of Vega and Sariñana make Tenemos que hablar a pleasant listen, if not a sad one.
100 gecs - The Most Wanted Person in the United States / from: 10,000 gecs
- Missouri, US
- FFO: PC Music, SOPHIE
- Written from the perspective of a fugitive on the run from the FBI, The Most Wanted Person in the United States has got to be one of the most relatable songs of 2023! It has a jarring array of samples: 80âs dancehallâs Sleng Teng riddim, the iconic âIâm supposed to run, right?â quote from Scary Movie, a looping Looney Tunes-esque boing sound effect, and much more. 100 gecs have captured the essence of pure chaos in a single song.
Barney Bones (feat. Channel Tres) - Fashion Week / from: ESCAPISM (EP)
- California, US
- FFO: KAYTRANADA, NEIL FRANCES
- Barney Bones has been a songwriter for quite some time, but the focus heâs been putting towards his solo work is relatively new. In the past, he has collaborated with Giveon, Gus Dapperton, and Channel Tres, the last of whom is featured on his debut EP, ESCAPISM. Fashion Week is a funky house track with great rapping from both Channel Tres and Bones himself. Channel Tresâ signature sexy voice adds a lot of character to the song and makes it extra memorable. See also: Jungle (feat. Channel Tres) - Iâve Been In Love.
Madge - bbq - Utah, US
- Slayyyter, Shygirl
- Madge is the enigmatic pop project of Cat Leavy. They were raised by a Mormon family, and something went right along the way, because by 2020, they were collaborating with Russian protest and performance collective Pussy Riot. Madgeâs music usually falls into the hyperpop, punk, or rave genres. But on bbq, theyâre giving a sound thatâs much more relaxedâhypnotic, even. The chorus is especially catchy, as they glide seamlessly between Russian and English: âĐŻ ĐœĐ” Đ·ĐœĐ°Ń don't know you.â
OG MarlynMonROLLUP - Vox (Extended) - New York, US
- FFO: Azealia Banks, Bree Runway
- OG MarlynMonROLLUP has been active in both the Brooklyn drill and New York house scenes for years, but Vox was her first song to garner widespread attention. Initially less than a minute long, Marlyn later dropped an extended version. And I will say that she sounds similar to Azealia Banks (like, do not let Azealia hear this, otherwise Marlyn is getting hexed), but even so, Marlyn certainly has her own signature flair. Sheâs been ahead of the curve, and Iâm excited to see where she goes in 2024.
Dimitri from Paris & Chatobaron - I Like The Music (That You Play) - France
- FFO: Jamiroquai, Purple Disco Machine
- This is song is a hell of a lot of fun. The lyrics are just a chorus of chants being directed at a DJ, but it totally works. I Like The Music (That You Play) is a mix of jazz, disco, funk, and house and it absolutely demands to be danced to.
Chase Icon - Club Cooter: Reloaded - California, US
- FFO: Kim Petras, SOPHIE
- Chase Iconâs hilarious lyricism never disappoints. Iâm hard-pressed to pick a favorite bar from Club Cooter, but itâs between âOld slow ass bitch on an iPhone 4 / On an air mattress tweeting out, âstop being poorââ and âReal cunt I could even rock a terf bang / Rich trade lined up like a chain gang.â Icon is giving me party girl/y2k pop princess/bad bitch, and Iâm here for all of it. See also: SoCal Girl.
Grupo Frontera (feat. Bad Bunny) - un x100to / from: El Comienzo
- Texas, US
- FFO: Sheryl Crow, Shania Twain
- Last year was a big one for regional Mexican music. Grupo Frontera (âBorder Groupâ) had been gaining traction, but they shot to new heights with the release of their Bad Bunny collaboration, un x100to (un porciento, or âone percentâ). The breezy, summery song displays the beauty of norteño music with the use of traditional instruments like the bajo quinto and accordion. Bad Bunny fits in perfectly with the six-piece ensemble, showing off his seemingly endless musical versatility. Side note: I know Iâm putting a song with 800 million streams on a list of underrated music, but Popheads has been sleeping!
49th & Main - Crash and Burn / from: B.O.A.T.S.
- Ireland
- FFO: Two Door Cinema Club, Arctic Monkeys
- Irish indie pop duo 49th & Main could have easily fit in among the indie big hitters of the early 2010âs: Two Door Cinema Club, Vampire Weekend, Passion Pit, Arctic Monkeys, etc. Their sound is very upbeat and lighthearted, especially so on Crash and Burn. Itâs overflowing with brass instruments and has a summery feel to it. I hear it playing on a clear, sunny day during an extravagant yacht party in the Mediterranean.
Snakehips (feat. Kilo Kish) - Deal With It / from: never worry
- England, UK
- FFO: AlunaGeorge, Cashmere Cat
- Snakehips has been releasing quality electronic singles since what feels like the beginning of time, and they finally released their debut album last year. never worry is a cohesive album that is stacked with great features from Tinashe, Tkay Maidza, Lucky Daye, Daya, and more. On the extremely groovy Deal With It, Kilo Kishâs voice sounds silky smooth as she singsârather bluntlyâabout being a bad bitch up in the club: âAnd if you don't like it, huh / Then deal with it.â
Liza Anne - Cheerleader / from: Utopian
- Georgia, US
- FFO: Maggie Rogers, Florence + the Machine
- Cheerleader by Liza Anne has has queer anthem potential. The punchy, bawdy, and infectious chorus is hard not to sing along to: âSo cute and you don't even know it / You're walking that talk and I love it, I love it.â Cheerleader sounds like it could have been a B-side from The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappell Roan. Itâs like the older, punk sister of HOT TO GO! Why have one sapphic song about cheerleading when you can have two?
MOTLEY FLOWER & Cherub (feat. Gothic Tropic) - Seasons Change / from: Garden Groove (EP)
- Thailand & Tennessee, US
- FFO: MIKA, Remi Wolf
- This collaborating is quite an eclectic mix of artists. You have MOTLEY FLOWER, an up-and-coming pop act from Thailand, and Cherub, the electronic indie duo responsible for the timeless classic Doses & Mimosas. Additionally, featured artist Gothic Tropic is the music project of Cecilia Della Peruti, the daughter of a Polish opera singer and an Italian composer. All different kinds of influences comes together for Seasons Change, and the result is a saccharine and cheeky love song thatâs undeniably catchy.
Revenge Wife - Fantasy Girl - New Hampshire, US
- FFO: Ryn Weaver, Sleigh Bells
- Revenge Wife is the solo project of brat pop pioneer Liz Nistico of HOLYCHILD. Her single Fantasy Girl is so severely Popheads-coded: itâs ABBA-inspired Italo disco with brash and fun vocals. Heavy on the electric guitar with some dramatic strings thrown in for good measure, the instrumentals and overall song production are just exquisite.
Allison Russell - The Returner / from: The Returner
- Canada
- FFO: Brandi Carlile, Hozier
- Americana singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Allison Russellâs second album, The Returner, is all about embracing the present. The title track is overflowing with soul and catharsis: Russellâs vocals are stunning and the use of each instrument feels intentional. The relaxed percussion and wistful strings are beautiful, and the clarinet that comes in after the first chorus is a wonderful little detail. Side note: I want to mention Sage by Imani CoppolaâI became obsessed with this song a few years ago and had yet to find anything that hit like it until I heard The Returner, so check it out!
Carter Faith - Smoke Too Soon - North Carolina, US
- FFO: pre-Golden Hour Kacey Musgraves, Kelsea Ballerini
- Smoke Too Soon by Carter Faith is so reminiscent of early Kacey, especially the lyrical wit. Faith opens the song: âHe walked out, no two week notice / Didn't even notice he was gone / Who's gonna gas up my Ford Focus / Who the hell's gonna mow my lawn.â Itâs classic country pop and a ball to listen to.
Kah-Lo - GD Woman / from: Pain/Pleasure
- Nigeria
- FFO: Tkay Maidza, Rihanna
- This song is dripping in pure funk. The trifecta of Kah-Loâs smooth voice, the bouncy bass guitar, and the groovy wobble bass synth create a pared-down yet rich sound. While the production on GD Woman is simple, itâs very effective. Kah-Loâs colorful Nigerian accent and effortless flow transmit her charisma in a way few other artists can do through song alone. Pain/Pleasure was one of my favorite albums of 2023, and I highly recommend giving it a listen.
Disclosure - Looking For Love / from: Alchemy
- England, UK
- FFO: Flume, Jamie xx
- 2023 marked ten years since Settle, the debut album English electronic duo Disclosure. Four studio albums later, theyâre still crafting quality house music on Alchemy. The second track, Looking For Love, stands out with its heavy bass drum. The strong beat, excess of synths, and distorted vocals all contribute to the songâs atmospheric feel.
COUCOU CHLOE - DRIFT / from: FEVER DREAM
- France
- FFO: Shygirl, Arca
- Now this song has a HOOK. French producer COUCOU CHLOEâs repetitions of âBut I don't, but I don'tâ were stuck in my head for days after I first heard this. Her music has been described as âdeconstructed club musicâ and I couldnât agree more. With Chloeâs warped, deadpan chanting and the slick beat, DRIFT is perfect for dancing in a dark nightclub.
Cowgirl Clue - Trust Fall / from: Rodeo Star
- Texas, US
- FFO: PC Music, Bjork
- Assigning a genre to Texasâ Cowgirl Clue is difficult, but Iâm going to settle for the broad label of alt-pop. Her second album, Rodeo Star, mixes grunge, punk, techno, electronic, and even country into a project that still remains cohesive. The third track, Trust Fall, has a lot going on sonically. The brash guitar playing has a nostalgic feel to it, and you can really get a sense of Cowgirl Clueâs DIY, bedroom pop origins. See also: Rodeo Starâs lead single, Trailblaze â.
Bonnie McKee - Hot City - Washington, US
- FFO: Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen
- Bonnie McKee has a history as an accomplished songwriter. Alongside Katy Perry, she co-wrote Teenage Dream, California Gurls, and Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.). She has also written for Britney Spears, Kesha, Cher, Christina Aguilera, and more. McKeeâs songwriting skills are out in full force on Hot City, a blissful synthpop bop that attests to her industry repute.
COBRAH - MANIC / from: SUCCUBUS (EP)
- Sweden
- FFO: Slayyyter, Charli XCX
- BDSM pop pioneer COBRAH is back with her SUCCUBUS EP, and her flow is undeniable on gritty club banger MANIC. The song has a bit of ebb and flow to itâthere are two brief choruses, during which the beat lies in wait as the focus is on COBRAHâs voice. But once the full instrumentals are back for the verses and outro, MANIC is all the more hard-hitting.
DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ - Will U B Mine / from: Destiny
- England, UK
- FFO: Daft Punk, lofi beats to study to
- DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ creates nostalgia in music form. Destiny is a four-hour-long album that is more meant to be listened to as background music, rather than something that requires your attention. Think lofi hip hop beats to study to, but y2k. Sabrina layers sample after sample over electronica beats, leaving you awash with nostalgia.
Ana Frango Elétrico - Electric Fish / from: Me Chama De Gato Que Eu Sou Sua
- Brazil
- FFO: Bjork, Prince
- Brazilâs Ana Frango ElĂ©trico is a multi-hyphenate extraordinaire: singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, producer, poet, and the list continues. The influences on their third studio album, Me Chama De Gato Que Eu Sou Sua (âCall Me A Cat And Iâm Yours,â roughly), are as eclectic as the singer themself. Thereâs elements of bossa nova, funk, rock, and disco, to name a few. On the lead single, Electric Fish, all of these genres are present, and moreâthe infectious melodies and whimsical layers of sound make for a, dare I say⊠electrifying experience.
LSDXOXO - Jâadore / from: Delusions of Grandeur (EP)
- Pennsylvania, US
- FFO: PC Music, Sega Bodega
- Some of you may know LSDXOXO for his reimagination of Alice on Lady Gagaâs Chromatica remix album. The Philadelphia-born, Berlin-based producer released the Delusions of Grandeur EP in 2023, which featured the super sexy house anthem Jâadore (âI Adoreâ). Of the track, LSDXOXO said âJâadoreâ is a step further into my exploration and appreciation of electroclash.â
hemlocke springs - enknee1 / from: goingâŠgoingâŠGONE! (EP)
- North Carolina, US
- FFO: Remi Wolf, Grimes
- In September, up and coming alt-pop artist hemlocke springs released her debut EP, goingâŠgoingâŠGONE! Per Pitchfork, her âlyrics make her sound like a cursed Victorian ghost, doomed to live in heartbreak for all of eternity.â As for her sound, itâs very 80's-inspired and nostalgic, and eknee1 is giving Steven Universe on psychedelics. Her unique voice fits her kitschy music well, and I just know she can do a nasty Toad impression!
TTRRUUCES - Cherry Cola / from: JJUUIICES
- England, UK
- FFO: Soccer Mommy, Wet Leg
- English psychedelic rock band TTRRUUCES released this summery single from their second album, JJUUIICES. The gentle guitar strums and filtered vocals send me to a hazy, relaxed afternoon on the beach. Cherry Colaâs melody is very enjoyable and memorable, and I especially love the outroâthe switch from Spanish to English followed by the whiny scat singing brings the song to a fun end.
Baby Tate - Jersey / from: Baby Tate Presents - Sexploration: The Musical (EP)
- Georgia, US
- FFO: Flo Milli, Bree Runway
- Jersey speaks to Baby Tateâs versatility as an artist, reminding us that sheâs more than just a rapper. This song is a club banger about heartbreak that describes Baby Tate crying in a New Jersey nightclub. As is her right! As Megan Thee Stallion reminds us, bad bitches have bad days too.
Romy - Sheâs On My Mind / from: Mid Air
- England, UK
- FFO: Dua Lipa, The Blessed Madonna
- 2023 was the year that, at last, we got solo albums from all three members of English indie band the xx. Romyâs debut, Mid Air, is chock-full of dance pop bops, including Sheâs On My Mind. The disco-inspired number is defined by a giddy keyboard melody that will fill you with euphoria and make you want to dance.
Chappell Roan - Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl / from: The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess
- Missouri, US
- FFO: Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift
- One thing about me is that I will recommend Chappell Roan to anything with a pulse. Fortunately, sheâs given me plenty to work with in her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess (my personal AOTY). Since I canât list all 14 songs, Iâve selected Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl, the ultimate sapphic bop. The spoken word intro is immediately iconic, and the way she BELTS that chorus? I clutched my pearls. Pop perfection. Roan truly has something specialâher songwriting abilities, her ear for melodies, and her bright personality all make her such a star.
Sam Gellaitry - ALONE / from: UNDER THE ILLUSION (EP)
- Scotland, UK
- FFO: PinkPantheress, Daft Punk
- Off of Scottish producer Sam Gellaitryâs EP UNDER THE ILLUSION, ALONE is a euphoric and lush song. It comprises layer after layer of distorted vocals, dreamy synths, ethereal guitar riffs, and a vibrant bassline. It seems as though Sam Gellaitry can do no wrongâeverything he produces turns to gold. If you need more proof, look to his collaborations with PinkPantheress: Picture in my mind and Blue.
Aliyahâs Interlude - IT GIRL - Georgia, US
- FFO: Bree Runway, cupcakKe
- Depending on what parts of the internet you frequent, itâs very likely that you know this song by sound, if not by name. Aliyahâs Interludeâs viral hit IT GIRL is a cunty pop-house anthem aboutâyou guessed itâbeing an it girl. If this song comes on while youâre walking somewhere, you legally have the right to shove everyone out of your way and into oncoming traffic!
Mike Taveira - Bloom All Night / from: Bloom All Night (EP)
- New York, US
- FFO: Troye Sivan, Tove Lo
- In the last few years, there have been many up-and-coming queer pop singer-songwriters, including Tom Aspaul, Michael Medrano, Vardaan Arora, and Bronze Avery. Among them is Mike Taviera, who dropped his Bloom All Night EP in 2023. Taveira said that the title track was written as a âdark and ironic dialogueâ between the singer and his eating disorder. Despite the somber subject matter, the song itself is upbeat with frantic drumming and intense orchestrals. Truly dark pop excellence!
Allie X - Black Eye - Canada
- FFO: Turn Off The Lights era Kim Petras, Lady Gaga
- Allie X is giving us 80âs slasher synth-pop excellence on Black Eye. Right from the opening four synths, which sound like they could be out of a horror movie soundtrack, you immediately know what youâre getting here. Itâs dark, intense, and great for being chased by a serial ax murderer.
Priya Ragu - One Way Ticket / from: Santhosam
- Switzerland
- FFO: Rina Sawayama, Amber Mark
- Last year, Swiss-Tamil singer-songwriter Priya Ragu released her debut album, Santhosam, which is the Tamil word for happiness. Prior to this in 2020, she broke the mold of music industry ageism by debuting at age 34 with her single Good Love 2.0. Ragu has an eclectic take on pop music, which is highlighted in One Way Ticket. Itâs upbeat, danceable, groovy, and an all-around good time.
Coco & Clair Clair - Pop Star (Chaeyoung Remix) / from: Sexy (Deluxe)
- South Korea
- FFO: PinkPantheress, Magdalena Bay
- Bedroom pop duo Coco & Clair Clairâs deluxe version of their 2022 album, Sexy, saw each track reimagined with remixes from the likes of George Daniel of The 1975 (Charli XCXâs fiancĂ©), Empress Of, and of course, Chaeyoung of Korean girl group TWICE. Pop Star was already an excellent song, but Chaeyoung takes it into a completely new direction on her remix, and it slaps! The song maintains the original DIY-esque synths, but adds a pounding house beat that is just top-notch. Plus, Chaeyoungâs eats her verse up. All in all, a very enjoyable listen.
Javiera Mena & DepresiĂłn Sonora - Ya no hay verano - Chile & Spain
- FFO: Magdalena Bay, EASYFUN
- Last year, Chileâs Javiera Mena and Spainâs DepresiĂłn Sonora (âSound Depressionâ) did what I guess could be called a cover exchange. DepresiĂłn Sonora released his version of CĂĄmara lenta (âSlow Motionâ), which Mena dropped back in 2006, while Mena released her rendition of DepresiĂłn Sonoraâs Ya no hay verano (âThereâs No More Summerâ). Originally, Ya no hay verano is an elegy to the summer of 2020, mourning all the fun we missed out on due to the pandemic. Menaâs fast-paced, 8-bit interpretation is chaotic, nostalgic, and fun, and while her take seems contrary to the original lyrics, it works well.
Baby Queen - i canât get my shit together / from: Quarter Life Crisis
- South Africa
- FFO: Lily Allen, Billie Eilish
- Every year, there are one or two artists I stumble upon that I become completely obsessed with. In 2022 it was Chappell Roan, and 2023 was Baby Queen. The South African artist released her debut album, Quarter Life Crisis, in which she navigates the trials and tribulations of being in your early 20âs. A definite highlight, i canât get my shit together is a relatable, punchy pop song with an earworm of a refrain and a hard-hitting chorus.
Goldie Boutilier - Penthouse in The Sky / from: Emerald Year (EP)
- Canada
- FFO: Stevie Nicks, Lorde
- Goldie Boutilierâs Emerald Year EP contains elements of rock, dark pop, and alternative country. Through just six songs, it offers a dramatic retelling of Boutilierâs resilience throughout her experience with the underside of the music industry. In what she describes as the âcrescendoâ of the EP, Penthouse in The Sky stands out for its haunting array of dark instrumentals. Halfway through, Boutilierâs voice goes silent, and the song seemingly comes to a close. But then begins the bold, two-minute-long outro that feels like it would play in a movie as the hero loses their final battle, tumbling into an abyss.
Holiday Sidewinder - Ripe - Australia
- FFO: EMOTION era Carly Rae Jepsen, Magdalena Bay
- Australiaâs Holiday Sidewinder (thatâs her legal name, fun fact) has been involved in the entertainment industry since childhood. However, it wasnât until 2019 that she released her debut solo album. Sidewinder has a consistent history of releasing high-quality indie pop music, and Ripe is some of her best work. This jubilant single is a display of just how good pure pop can be.
Pharrell Williams (feat. Swae Lee & Rauw Alejandro) - Airplane Tickets - Virginia, US
- FFO: Silk Sonic, Funk Wav Bounces era Calvin Harris
- I will be seeing Pharrell Williams in court for releasing this chill, summery single in December. I could see myself cruising with the windows down on a hot July night to the serenades of Swae Lee and Rauw Alejandro, but alas. Regardless, both artists always deliver on their features, so itâs no surprise that their voices sound great together. They play off one another wonderfully and Pharrellâs production is of course superb.

2024.01.05 18:03 No_Pilot_3767 Face: a tormented, crying-in-the-club confession (what Jimin does best) â or rather, an ode to Jimin's growth as a vulnerable, dazzling, multi-faceted artist who revels in challenging dichotomies
Jimin has always been an absolutely stunning performer â this fact remains undeniable. He is heartbreakingly raw in Lie, outworldly ethereal in Serendipity, and breathtakingly sensual in Filter. Jimin has the IT factor. Jimin is IT.
So when I listened to Face, his debut solo album for the first time, I knew I was going to be listening to the siren tunes of an artist who had always been sincere, almost to a hurting degree, about his struggles.
But what I didn't expect, was how broken I would feel while reading his lyrics â no, confessions. Confessions of his innermost battles, his emptiness, turmoil, and drinking all of these away.
All while weaving them into hypnotising melodies oozing sex and escapism and effortless chic.
Jimin challenges this dichotomy of sensuality and vulnerability; he revels in it. It is what makes him such an interesting artist: the ability to draw an audience in, revealing his most profound secrets while entrancing them.
Jimin's first song, Face-off, is not afraid to plunge headfirst into confronting his innermost fears. "Alright, I guess the blame is on me, Look at me now, I live, like a pathetic idiot, Believing in someone is the beginning of a miserable nightmare." It starts off raw and despairing, his voice slightly rapsy and desperate.
He dances along the tightrope between being vulnerable and dazed, slightly distant. He slips into falsetto, giving us time to breathe (and perhaps, become a little optimistic) while his lilt becomes breathy and angelic: "It's a beautiful night, I feel like I've found myself." But we are quickly jolted back to reality as he spits out "Tonight I don't wanna be sober, Pour it up it's all fucking over." Face-off threads memories of himself reflecting off shards of broken bottles together into a confession of drinking himself away. Pour it out, Pour it out, Until the night is over. Get it out, get it out, all your traces even, yeah yeah,
Interlude: Dive, the next track, is fucking heartbreaking to me. The primary melody is dreamy, distant. It is a collage of audio vignettes of him greeting fans at a concert, and you can hear the smile on his face. But it ends with him opening a bottle to numb his pain. Even without any lyrics, Interlude: Dive succinctly explores the distinctions and merging between Jimin, the A-lister, and Jimin, the deeply private, afflicted individual.
Moving away from the privacy of his home, we now see Jimin in a club in Like Crazy. This time, he is much more carefree, dancing and drinking and laughing while painted in blues and neons. In fact, one could even call Like Crazy âa hoe bangerâ, the disco synths highlighting hedonistic want. But one look at the lyrics reveals a side which is much more depressing. He begs for company just for tonight to drink away his sorrows, âSo that even the morning / Gets drunk and doesnât arrive.â
Fuck, the bridge is what really gets me: âThis will break me, This is gonna break me, No donât you wake me, I wanna stay in this dream, donât save me, Donât you try to save me, I need a way we, I need a way we can dream on.â He knows his drinking is going to ruin him, but prefers being addicted and dazed so he can even continue living. Jimin is a master at treading the line between sensuality and vulnerability.
He is alone again in Alone, perhaps coming down from a high at the club, where he professes âWhen falling asleep, drunk, and being unable to remember anything, I thought about it, âwhat am I doing nowââ. He admits âThe me who pretends to be okay every time, I find him pathetic.â Fuck, that hurt. âMake it right, itâs gonna be all rightâ is immediately rebutted by a distorted âLie lie lie lie lie lie lieâ.
Alone is meandering, lost, unsure. Alone reflects. Alone hurts.
Set Me Free Pt. 2 starts off fucking haunting, full of warped voices and cries. The autotune drowns Jiminâs voice in Hennessy, submerging him underwater. But as he chants âI who came to rest at the end, does not look backâ, and âEven if it hurts, I donât hide it anymore, Going insane to stay sane, I raise a fist for the past meâ, his voice takes on a powerful, transcendental quality. And as he finally bursts out âSet me freeâ, you start to believe that indeed, he is finally free from the shackles of addiction and depression.
Set Me Free Pt. 2 is ultimately an anthem â a declaration â that he has overcome his trials. Through the use of autotune and blaring instrumentals and resounding cries, Face-off, Jiminâs debut solo album, ends on a powerful, chilling note.
Jimin is many things:
Jimin is an absolutely spellbinding dancer, one of the absolute best in the industry. Jimin is an angelic singer with a gorgeous tone anyone would recognise. Jimin is an ever-persevering person, striving to always better himself both in and outside his work.
Jimin is a vulnerable, dazzling, multi-faceted artist.
Jimin is art.

2023.12.06 03:29 Skyfall3333 Issues W/ ANTARESâ Taking out payments for something tried contacting them. Not only that 2 weeks early they cancel my membership NO RefundsâŠ.. HELP****
So just recently purchased an auto tune, and I had no issues the first 14 day trial after that they ended up taking I believe $44 out of my bank account one day before they were supposed to. Meanwhile I was going to cancel anyways not to mention that today I went to go use autotune Pro and it says expired that about two weeks early. They have expired my contract.
I have reached out to them asking for a refund or I will never deal with them again as Iâm a loyal customer that $44 can go a lot further when youâre broke. If anyone can help me with contacting And and any information on what I can do please post below and I will check later to see what the verdict is. Worst case scenario Iâm out $44 but a long time loyal customer as Iâve already emailed them and got no response and then they cancel my membership two weeks after I paid already??? makes no senseđđ€đ€đ€đ€

2023.08.22 12:15 nathj3 Will an Apollo Solo be right for me?
Looking at purchasing an Apollo solo by the end of the month as the heritage edition + the extra deal with the autotune and 1073 plugins etc ends up being a very good deal, but im wondering if it will fill me needs.
99% of the time i am just playing at home micing up my marshalls with one close mic and one room mic. I can see myself using the 1073eq plugin on both mics and maybe a compressor, probably not even a reverb as i plan to get that space from room micing.
i understand that native plugins use your computers cpu and the apollo ones use up the dsp, by the looks of it the 1073 is apollo. What does it mean on the UA plugin site if they are listed as both apollo and native? The only plugins i see myself purchasing in the near future are the EL8 distressor and the Studer a800 if they sound great on the trial
Occaisionally i might want to mix some full band stuff, will i run into issues here? do you have to run all the plugins at once or for example can i use up the dsp to record the guitar part, then switch to what i want for the bass and then record that etc? Or does each track have to have the plugins on them at all times
thanks all! Also side note, i shoudltn have any problems ordering a unit from the US if i live in Australia>

2023.04.20 22:58 JulPollitt Can't Open Final Cut Pro due to Audio Units
I was using a trial of Antares AutoTunes in Logic which expired a while ago but I never got around to deleting it. Now for seemingly no reason, whenever I open final cut and it begins validating the Audio Units, it gets stuck on Antares and doesn't move. I tried deleting as much of the software from my Macbook as i could find but it still gets hung up on Antares and it and won't open. Any ideas? I'm on Ventura if it matters.

2023.02.17 19:30 mayakaibara Class Trial 70 - Preview 2: Blue Sky Despair Heart
The stage of hopes and dreams awaits the students of Hope's Peak, and everyone gathers at the perfect venue for this stage... The Titty Typhoon. A beautiful blue sky awaits everyone as they enter the concert hall. While most of you have formed groups with your friends, a few stragglers who didn't want to participate was rounded up by Usami as well. After she forced convinced them to join some groups, everyone had their very own idol group! Other than Sayaka of course, who was happy to be performing on her own to level the playing field. A few of you have even brought your own instruments... Okay everybunny! I'm glad that everyone here has found a group already... Those who were a bit more hard to work with, I've assigned you guys to a random group! But I have a last minute announcement...
I actually need one of you to be my Ultimate Stage Manager! Turns out one small lil' bunny like me can't handle everything at once!
Especially if I'm going to have to autotune as much as I think I will...
Since whoever is the stage manager can't win... Let's draw lots to decide!
One lot drawing later...
Well, can't say I didn't see this coming...
Well that's not fair! Our Amazing Ahoge group is one short now!
Well, I'm sure we can make do without Makoto...
It's decided then! Makoto will be my super special helper for the concert! Now then... It's time to plan your performances! I'll leave to go setup everything to make sure this performance is perfect!
Well, like I promised, I'll be happy to help anyone who needs any assistance. I'm performing solo after all, so I won't have to practice as much... Let's start with song ideas! What does everyone have in mind?
The Big Brutes have decided to write a song about the things we love the most!
So... meat!
Gonta want song about bugs!
SHIIIIIIIIT! ... My dojo.
O-one of those things doesn't really seem to fit...
Now is no time to be conversing with the enemy idols Kaede! The Blonde Bimbos must decide our song posthaste! I personally am thinking of covering a Nirvana song!
Again Miss Sonia, I think you really should rethink the name Miu suggested... It's not exactly what you want to call an idol group...
I can't believe that stupid bunny dumped me in a group with you people...
Well I don't wanna be with you either you stupid nincompoopy rich brat!
Enough chitchat! All the instrument wielding warriors, follow Ibuki and Kaede to the practice room!
Under the tutelage of several of the more musically and rhythmically inclined students, everyone is hard at work practicing... With all kinds of songs prepared and an assortment of stage performances, the School Idol Festival looks to be promising... But during the first rehearsal, five days before the real thing, disaster strikes..
Well then, adieu, until the day we meet again~.
Wow Celeste, you're actually really good at singing!
I-I don't know about Hifumi dancing in the background though... The Princess Buuko dance doesn't really suit that song...
In that case, please teach me of the correct dancing protocols Miss Maizono! I will do my best to uphold the beautiful song of Miss Ludenburg!
That ridiculous rabbit will rue the day she paired me up with this buffoon... Nevertheless, I, Celestia Ludenberg, will of course triumph over this ridiculous setback of my teammate.
Hey hey, did someone say rue the day? Maybe I can join in the fun!
M-m-m-m-m-monokuma?!!! What are you doing here? And why are you wearing that?!
Isn't it obvious? I'm here to participate in your idol competition too!
O-oh really? That's good to hear-
Of course not you stupid bunny! Monokuma power stealing activate!
Awawawawa... Not again...
Upupupupu, now that I'm in charge, this lil' school idol of yours is gonna go through some big changes!
Of course, since everybody has worked soooooo hard on your performances, the live will still go on!
But I'm changing the prize for the winner of this little competition... Do you even know what that stupid bunny was going to give you? More of those stupid gacha tickets!
I'm giving the winner of this idol contest the benefit of escaping a special punishment I've prepared for everyone else...
After all, do you know how much your loved ones have to sacrifice for you to become an idol? It wouldn't be fair if the ones who flopped on stage didn't make it up to your loved ones!
Yep, other than the winner of this little idol contest, everyone else's will have your loved ones punished, tortured, and maybe even killed!
Of course, I won't let the judging be done by just me! I'll be broastcasting your performances for the WHOLE world to see! And everyone will get to vote for their favourite performance!
What's that? You think someone is definitely gonna win because she has like a bajillion fans?
Well too bad! If you want to stop it, of course, you can murder someone and your stupid concert and this motive will end immediately!
Alright, see you folks next time! I'll be performing too of course, so I've gotta get ready... And no changing groups! The permissions are hard enough to edit as it is, and that stupid bunny is a terrible coder!
Well, what that bear said... It certainly paints a target on someone doesn't it?
After all, if this contest is decided by votes and skill alone... Won't you obviously win?
.... N-no...
Sayaka, wait! We can work this out!
Before anyone can do anything, Sayaka runs off to her cottage and locks the door behind her. Nobody is able to get her to come out and everyone gives up after a while... With only 5 days to the performances, what exactly will happen on this stage of hopes, dreams, and now despair? Okay, as this trial will be the first one using the fast pass, after the next preview, which will also have the victim reveal, feel free to PM me if you want to use your fast pass and I will send the signup form to you. The form will have the usual stuff by the way, Discord name + Tag and your three preferred characters. Do remember to let me know before the signup date if you plan to signup!!

2023.02.16 09:36 mayakaibara Class Trial 70 - Preview 1: Our LIVE, Our LIFE, With You
It's a beautiful day on Jabberwock Island. The sun is shining, the waves are glistening, and the class is living in harmony. A rosy school life on a tropical island was all you had to think about and everyone had already began to form lasting bonds and friendships with each other! And so, when one of you suggested to Usami to hold something exciting to celebrate your time on the island, she immediately thought of something befitting a class full of hope, dreams and love. And what better way to celebrate this class than a special live to celebrate your lives? I call it... Usami's School Idol Festival! All Stars! Everyone will get to be school idols for a day and compete to be the All Star idol group!
Everybody, it's ready! I've set up everything on the Third Island for this special event.
I don't know why, but I've really gotten into the idol craze recently... Maybe it's because I've been playing this game called-
... I don't think that's really relevant right Usami?
Tee hee, you're right Chiaki... Anyway, I know some of you are probably thinking... I'm no good at singing! Or dancing! Or even standing on a stage!
But that's all part of the fun! Also, Usami has activated the power of autotune, so even the worst sounding of you will sound... Less bad!
I'll give everyone one day to form your own idol groups okay? I even have a super special magical prize prepared for the winner, so try your best to win!
Am I the only one who sees a big fucking glaring hole in this idea?!
How are we supposed to beat that stupid pop sensation slut?! She's literally the Ultimate at this idol shit!
Don't worry! I wouldn't want this to be an easy competition either... I don't mind performing solo if that makes you feel better!
Being able to see the Ultimate Pop Sensation shining beautifully on stage by herself... What did I do to deserve this?
That still doesn't change the fact that all my talent went to my breasts, so I can't sing or dance for shit! It's not my fault they bounce everywhere when I jump even a little!
In that case, why don't I help everyone out with planning their performances? I know I don't look like it, I've helped my idol group out with countless dance practices. I know what kind of dance moves to teach you guys who have two left feet!
Well, some of you probably need more help than others... Being an idol is more than just singing and dancing...
Only idol Gonta know is wooden idol of the forest...
This is ridiculous, I'm not wasting a second on this farce.
What's wrong? You degenerate males are all the same... The moment a girl can do something you can't, you run away,
Silence! I'll have you know I can pop and lock, and jam and break. I've learnt it all in efforts to be the greatest heir to the Togami name. I am well versed in the art of dancing.
Oh Byakuya... Won't you group up with me? I know I might not look like it, but I sing a little too. We'll make the perfect duet! Your dancing with my singing....
I-I don't know if you can call your singing good Toko... I still have nightmares about it...
Big sis, big sis, I'll teach you some dance moves okay? I know it might seem hard, but traditional dance is really easy once you get the hang of it.
Nyeh... If anyone needs help with being magical on stage... I guess I could give some tips too...
And if anyone wants to learn an instrument, Ibuki has played literally all of them! She can totally teach everyone!
Whatever it is, I'm sure the more musically inclined students can help the others out. It's like Sayaka said, let's try and have some fun alright? We have two weeks to prepare, so let's give it our all!
Hee hee... Everyone's so excited already! I can't wait to see what performances each group is going to put on! What could possibly go wrong?
Upupupupupupupu... yes, it is I, jiggles with a brand new spanking class trial themed around my favourite school idols. there's a few more previews coming up, but the tentative signup date is here! It'll be on the 20th of February at 2100 GMT+8! Link to countdown timer
here!
I expect the trial will likely start on the same weekend, so either 25th or 26th!

2022.12.26 06:03 sfkenny1 The divine comedy between the doctor and the monster part 3
| HellĂ, how are you guys? It's been a long time since I posted the first two parts of my theory and I finally have the energy to post the third part. There is a big problem with posting these things here which is the lack of "good English" I usually use google translate so some sentences may not be in a very good context. 1part : https://www.reddit.com/twentyonepilots/comments/thp2rl/the_divine_comedy_between_the_doctor_and_the/ 2part: https://www.reddit.com/twentyonepilots/comments/tlvgit/the_divine_comedy_between_the_doctor_and_the/ There is a context about divina comedy that hasn't been put before, the fact that dante had a guide during his journey, listening to twent one pilots I get the impression that our guide is the "tyler's conscience", conscience that I say, at the moment he writes the lyrics, but that it narrates events of the past. and who hes accompanies on this journey is tyler's inner child who is in a process of healing/purifying his "sins". We have mentioned the word "kid" several times in the album Vessel(Migraine, fake you out, guns for hands,) "And if you're one of them then you're one of me" Even in the live versions of stresses out where we can hear an autotune with the voice of children singing the chorus. For in his childhood he could do "nothing to help" himself but now he can "holdin on to you and grab my light and go with you" He can finally help his "inner child" overcome all the traumas that have left him stuck, and as the story progresses we get closer to the "present tyler" But he doesn't just carry traumas, he also carries the dreams and the "Way of Seeing the World" from when he was a child. This desire to change/save the whole world that we have when we are kids, the innocence of a child would be the right word I think. Another thing about Dr Jerkyll and Mr Hyde is each one represent, not just "good and evil", but a logical and emotional side of the brain, and the bout sides are in conflict, because of this we have so much swap in the lyrics and rhythm , because, how a musician Tyler needs "seling things" buts the emotional side wants to talk about things really meaters is not just "seeling records" but he has bill to pay, need to buy a house for his mother, a lot of things who need money, if you don't seling record or make sucesses, you don't have any money, so, he find stuck between making normal pop music and being an artist that hits and plays on the radio(logical) or talking about things that really matter but might not be welcomed(emotional) Remembering that, we are on the logical side of tyler brain( Sounding down the mountain range of my left-side brain ) but your emotional side interferes in the songs too I will only comment on a few things about the trench lore, I believe there are good videos that contain all the lore. If I were to nominate one, I would nominate one from nalbis( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj5iYgRe-Kk&t=509s) Well, I think it's very well produced and have a good content We know that the name Nico comes from the pseudonym Nicolas bourbaki who was represented by a group of mathematicians, according to Tyler's wikipedia ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyler\_Joseph) his mother used to be a math teacher which maybe indicates Tyler's difficulty with math (I guess in his childhood) We can see AndrĂ© Weil( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andr%C3%A9\_Weil) in one of the photos released in the trench era, who was founder and one of the first leaders of the bourbarki group and created from the empty set, symbĂl used by the band The tower of silence presented in the trench era( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower\_of\_Silence) comes from Zoroastrianism which is a religion based on Dualism( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dualism\_in\_cosmology) Dualism has two meanings and both are present in Lore. In the clancy letters we see that the religion of the bishops is Vialism, a word very similar to dualism. Translating the word Via we have the following meanings. Catching the main meaning traveling through (a place) en route to a destination. And Bandito's lyrics "I could take the high road But I know that I'm going low" Vialism would be a kind of imposition that "things have to be this way" as if life can only be lived in one way, this also reminds me a lot of Lane boy's lyrics " "stay in your lane, boy" Also remembering that in the first corner, Dante is lost in a forest and there is a session that left the "correct path" "Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita mi ritrovai per una jungle oscura, chĂ© la diritta via era smarrita." the other concept is that : Mindâbody dualism, a philosophical view which holds that mental phenomena are, at least in certain respects, not physical phenomena, or that the mind and the body are distinct and separable from one another Welcome to trench jumpsuit At the beginning of the jumpsuit clip we see the car from the HDS clip, if you spent some minutes reading the second part of my theory you know that the car represents the life(body) of tyler. Somehow Tyler managed to get out of self-sabotage mode, a life riddled with his fears and insecurities. The phrase we hear (probably fromtyler mind) is you'be here the whole time, you are sleep, time to wake up" After the intro we see Tyler (body) waking up in the first levels of trench, as he walks bandits started to appear in the upper levels of the trench, they are not down there with Tyler because he just got there, the bandits are there more time, they have already paid for some of their sins and therefore are in higher levels of purgatory In the divine comedy purgatorio is an island with a mountain in the Southern Hemisphere located between heaven and hell "This is the sound we make When in between two places" A place reserved for those who, in life, repented of their sins and are in the process of atonement for those sins. In purgatories souls attend the penance of those in hell, perhaps the "Annual Assemblage of Glorified" is a reference to this act. When leaving hell Dante says he is breathing fresh air again, in one of the clancy letters he comments about the air in trench being different from the air in dema, as Dante goes up the cycles of purgatorio, he is being forgiven for his sins until he is allowed to enter in paradise At the end of the clip, we can see (what I believe is Tyler's mind) taking the jumpsuit out of the trunk and walking towards the dema. It is also worth noting that the fire in the car is out, perhaps representing that self-sabotage is somehow gone. but as some insecurities still remain, so blurryface can still control tyler(body) "I'll be right there, but you'll have to grab my throat and lift me in the air If you need anyone . I'll stop my plans, but you'll have to tie me down, and then break both my hands" Levitate In the levitate clip we can see Tyler joining the bandits. at the beginning of the clip tyler is without his jumpsuit, he only take during the clip, but in the jumpsuit clip they were using which indicates that probably when tyler goes back into self-sabotage mode and is overpowered by blurryface he ends "resenting" making him forget everything he thought "Sleep in a well-lit room, don't let the shadow through And sever all I knew, yeah, sever all" A break to talk about the yellow tape. I understand the meaning about the color of the ribbon, one more thing caught my attention. Trench seems to be a declaration of war by tyler against dema, the clothes that bandits wear are very similar to the clothes used by the army, as well as shaving their hair too, when researching yellow tape and army I found this page on wikipedia(https://en .wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_ribbon) that says "Yellow is the official color of the armor branch of the U.S. Army" not only that, but also talks about a song/poem "She wore a yellow ribbon" that talks about woman of destiny is under some sort of test or trial as she waits for her beloved to return. "When I leave don't save my seat, I'll be back when it's all complete" I have the slight impression that trench talks about rehabilitation, when I saw the nico and the ninners clip, the setting and the clothes that people from Dema wear, I had this impression. "I thought I could depend on my weekends On the freezing ground that I'm sleeping on Please keep me from please keep me Down from the ledges Better test it, wooden wedges under doorways Keep your wooden wedges under doors" I don't know everyone, but some people here will identify how clinics work for people who suffer from severe depression, who are in a critical state and have tried suicide a few times, you basically end up locking yourself in a room with no access to things that could hurt you, the which include windows because when you are in a critical state " the window sill looks really nice, right?". I understand that the band's message is not that, but anyone who has been through this or even experienced a hard reebot knows how things really are. I believe Trench represents Tyler's period in rehab. "Where are we used to bleed(mind) And where're our blood needs to be(body)" "My interior world needs to sanitize I've got to step through or I'll dissipate" because rehab takes care of both your body and your mind. In the book The Doctor and the Monster, Dr Jerkyll tried to stay a while without using Mr hyde, thus going through a kind of rehabilitation too, maybe this rehabilitation is about "not using blurryface's powers to make songs anymore" The name of the song and the chorus of the song refer to the fact that "use your imagination to do things" for people with a great imagination even levitation is possible. "Oh, I know how to levitate up off my feet And ever since the seventh grade I learned to fire-breathe You can learn to levitate with just a little help" I believe "fire-breathe " is a reference to rapping "And though I feed on things that fell" I believe this excerpt talks about tyler's access to some things, in an interview (I don't remember which one) tyler says that access to non-Christian music came from his sister's boy band CDs, and that one of the first bands he listened to was a christian rap band. Christian families generally forbid "worldly" things making it inaccessible to those growing up in very Christian families. "Come down, come down Cowards only come through when the hour's late And everyone's asleep, mind you Now show up, show up I know I shouldn't say this But a curse from you is all that I would need right now, man" I believe who tyler is calling a coward is blurryface, perhaps compared to Mr hyde who usually only goes out at night. Not only that, but analyzing the lyrics of the album Vessel, tyler seems to have his crises during the dawn and in the moments of negative thoughts he should probably be "cursing himself" "My heart is with you hiding, but my mind's not made Now they know it like we both knew for some time I'd say" Here tyler talks about Clancy's doubt about letting go of dema, as he (body) is trying to escape, but his mind(clancy) still has doubts about letting go of dema. In the clip we can see that even when it's not dark the bandits still use torches, in the divine comedy the Sun is a representation of God, Dante only makes his pilgrimage when the sun is in the sky, resting when it sets, I believe the torches are a representation of the Sun. When tyler is caught again by blurryface we can see the glint in his eyes that clancy talks about in his letters to the people close to him. "But do I want to say goodbye to all the glowing eyes?" There is also the fact that he is taken at night, the car is on fire, indicating perhaps insecurities/depressive thoughts that usually appear at night Chlorine In the divine comedy, in order to enter heaven, Dante needs to drink water from the Lethe River, which is a river that erases people's sins from their memory. The pool, filled with chlorine, is a representation of that river. Ned: The first time I saw ned, I thought he was a "little demon" I was born and raised in a Christian family, whenever he came up with "tricks" he was always called a little devil, but as I understood more the band I understood that ned in real is a mutant kid, a representation of Tyler's inner child. "So where are you? It's been a little while" This is the first song on the album where blurryface's voice is heard and by conscience is when ned appears. In Doctor and the Monster, My hyde is younger and less physically evolved than Dr Jerkyll, because the emotional side of Dr Jerkyll has not evolved, I know it seems counterintuitive because blurryface appears as an old man in the trench era, but it is almost certainly the " cause of the blurryface" are Tyler's sins as a child that still "get in the way" of his adult life. "The moment is medical, moment is medical Sippin' on straight chlorine Lovin' what I'm tastin' venom on my tongue Dependent at times poisonous vibration Help my body run I'm runnin' for my life Runnin' for my life" In the clip, we can see that Tyler is always drinking something from a glass, which at the end of the clip is rejected by ned. I believe they are probably drugs ( medicines , antidepressants or anxiolytics who knows) they are things that help to combat mental problems , but they are still "Venom on my tongue" "Help my body run, I'm runnin' for my life" We can see similar passages in the lyrics of my blood as well. "Stay with me, my blood You don't need to run " There are several songs/works that reflect this issue, as if you were "running from yourself" for fear of facing who you really are, for fear of your thoughts and instead of facing reality and accepting who you really are, you end up "running away" desperately trying to be someone else. "Fall out of formation I plan my escape from walls they confined" Planning an escape from dema, planning an escape from his own mind, because at that moment, he is trapped in it and cannot get out of dema, he can't free he's mind "Rebel red carnation Grows while I decay Had you in my coat pocket, where I kept my rebel red I felt I was invincible, you wrapped around my head Now different lives I lead, my body lives on lead The last two lines may read incorrectly until said The lead is terrible in flavor But now you double as a papermaker I despise you sometimes I love to hate the fight and you in my life is like" Tyler takes it to his heart (coat pocket, we can see that his shirt pocket in the clip is on the left side, side of the heart) Red Carnation which is a symbol of Ohio's State not only that, but he also takes his inner child with him because a large part of his creativity (not only his, but ours as well) comes from her inner child, so he lives this eternal conflict with his creativity , he "I love to hate the fight " because a good part of the lyrics comes from their internal conflicts, but this creativity is "selling out" making music to earn money and not with the aim of talking about what really matters "my body lives on lead lead is terrible in flavor" Here a reference to the "heavy body" the gigantic discouragement that accompanies those who have depression, probably what causes the "taste of lead in the mouth" are the antidepressants because they leave the mouth dry and that taste of lead sometimes. There are other things that could cause it, but here, this is probably it. "I'm so sorry, I forgot you Let me catch you up to speed I've been tested like the ends of A weathered flag that's by the sea" Here he speaks directly to us, his audience, to update us on what's going on. The sea appears several times in Tyler's lyrics (holding onto you, ode to sleep, addict with a pen etc..) I believe it is a reference to his creativity/imagination, and that he is constantly lost between what is real and what is not. In this case, he doesn't know what path to take with his creativity, because he needs to stop using death/depression as a source of inspiration, stop depending on blurryface to make songs because this is not a healthy practice and he needs to heal from these things . but he's afraid of getting cured and he can't write songs anymore, he loses his audience etc Nico and the Niners "East is up" Well, just like Tyler "I'm not good with directions" I know that east points to where the sun rises and in the divine comedy the sun is what guides Dante in purgatory, maybe "is up" is a reference to heaven in the biblical sense, that god is the only thing that can guide human beings through this is one of the concepts of christinism and also something very present in the divine comedy so the sun that guides tyler would be god " let's pick 'above' and see" "I'm heavy, my jumpsuit is on steady I'm lighter when I'm lower, I'm higher when I'm heavy, oh I'm so high, my jumpsuit takes me so high I'm flying from a fire, from Nico and the Niners, oh" lighter when I'm lower could be a reference to bandito's lyrics I believe "going low" is about talking about important things in your lyrics and not "Lyrics that mean nothing" higher can be a reference to being closer to god, but it can also be a reference to success since when "heavier" he writes better and make more music. when he says he's flying from a fire it's probably a reference to HDS's car, that he's flying away from dema and the state of self-sabotage "What I say when I want to be enough What a beautiful day for making a break for it We'll find a way to pay for it Maybe from all the money we made razorblade stores Rent a race horse and force a sponsor And start a concert, a complete diversion Start a mob and you can be quite certain We'll win but not everyone will get out " We can see that before the secret touch on tyler and josh, tyler doesn't recognize the bandits, and before that he was gathering his things from the old ages in a backpack. I believe that tyler was on his way to the meeting of the glorified, where all his memories would be erased, so he gathered everything in his backpack. During Clancy's letter he talks about this distraction and we can also see his doubt about leaving or not leaving dema, so when they say that not everyone will escape I believe that who stays is clancy, a part of tyler's creativity(mind) that remains trapped in dema. I looked for something related to the statue, but I didn't find anything, just a few posts here that didn't \"make much sense\" during the clip we don't see any yellow light except for a single lightbulb they pull out of the forge, probably representing an idea (at least that's how they tend to be represented, like a lightbulb turning on) https://preview.redd.it/y5qp3qk2868a1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b44a359b7b9e5311307658b9535d90d620920ea In order not to get too big, I'm going to talk only about these songs, but there are other curiosities. In particular, I really like the video for my blood, it reminds me a lot of my process with the death of my mother, the song talks about this "fight" between Tyler's mind and his body that seem to not understand each other and are always running away from each other. Moph approaches doubt with more maturity, on older albums there seems to be a lot of tyler's doubt about his faith and this is something that shakes him a lot, but in the trench era we see a more mature approach to doubt "For 'above' is blind belief, and 'under' is sword to sleeve And 'around' is scientific miracle, let's pick 'above' and see" We can also see that tyler suffers from panic attacks "For now I see that 'if' and 'when' are truly different cries For 'if' is purely panic, and 'when' is solemn sorrow And one invades today, while the other spies tomorrow" "I'll morph to someone else" is about this constantly changing/evolving, always adapting mainly to what concerns his career as a musician. Cut my lipe talks about the abusive relationship with the state of self-sabotage because he keeps returning to these states (to dema) "I keep on going back Even though it's me I abuse" We can see several references to old songs in the video for The hype video Cause there's a screen on my chest ![img](hdbr15gb968a1 " I simply tell them they should shoot at this Simply suggest my chest and this confused music ") I go up, up, up, up, up to the ceiling That's it. There is more but that would only make the post longer, I tried to summarize as much as I could I hope you can read and maybe help me and find more things because the more I read the more I find. 2022.12.06 18:11 Guana-bananas (guide) How to compile TFT-firmware
I was having troubles with the screen fighting my SKR Mini E3 V3 over which settings, values etc to use and I couldn't figure out for the love of god how to change the "hidden" settings outside the Config.ini file for the touch. After some digging on the internet I realised there was no guide or information on how to compile my own firmware so I figured I had to take matters into my own hands.
After hours of trial and error and just going haywire in VSC (I have 2 months of VSC experience and only with Marlin) I found out how to change the "hidden" settings and how to compile it myself.
For you out there with troubles I present to you...
The "How to compile TFT35 firmware"-guide! (Name subject to change)
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1H4nJcxRqBgbtmYuICLQswPs1HAkvitTnrXRHmy3BT8s/edit?usp=share_link This is useful if you want to change the values for touch-mode specific features that run on the screen and not the board like PID-Autotune.
Have fun and don't change too much things. Trust me, it takes forever to find what single thing broke printing.
Please share it if you need but don't steal it without crediting me.

2022.10.21 14:39 xqsistr Twoons - Barnsour EP
Barnsour is a collaborative hip-hop EP with a dusty saturation and a broad Wild West theme, highlighted by three stellar vocal performances from Di-Vincent, Ant Lavelle and Zealey.
https://soundcloud.com/twoons/sets/barnsour Twoons is the rebirth of the 'Tomwynne' project, formerly a resident of Leeds based label 8MANA. Using dense layering of electronic sounds, this project exists to turn manic experimentation into delicate songwriting through continuous trial and error. Twoons spans many genres but can be distinguished with its collage of synths, heavy vocal autotune and a meandering verse-centric structure.

2022.08.22 00:20 MhaeSummers1974 The World EP. 1: Movement is truly a wall-breaking, ground- breaking, record- breaking genius body of work.
Seriously, BIG kudos to ATEEZ, and their Creative and Production Teams. This album, the whole body of work they released for this comeback is legendary, iconic, revolutionary. The entire album as a whole, feels to me, like righteous revenge, reclamation, redemption, retribution, and revolutionary rage. Like, "Holy Wrath", untethered emotion turned into purposeful intention. I can't choose a favorite song from this album, it's a whole no-skip masterpiece.
For me, this entire album's lyrics, vocal text painting, music production, storytelling, visuals, art design, soundscape, choreography, styling, and concept as a whole body of work is so epically encompassing, liberating, cathartic, cinematic, complex, and surprisingly progressive yet also thought-provokingly familiar, with so much substance and nuanced layers to unpack. This release is a true well thought out Art piece that wholly conveys objective meaning AND subjective interpretation; it's truly a wall-breaking, ground-breaking, record-breaking genius body of work, a gift that keeps on giving. It's innovative cohesively chaotic genius, one of the best albums I've heard in years. I find it amazing that the whole rebellious mavericks theme of ATEEZ as a group and for this comeback even bleeds into how the intention of producing each song for this album defies the very logic of song structure and music theory. Truly breaking status quo, pushing past limits of what is expected, and reinventing things anew.
And I think it's fascinating how the album is meant to be a whole listening experience journey, mirroring the complex unpredictability and extremity of human nature and the expansive human experience itself beginning to end full circle in cycles. I love how everything was carefully curated yet also intuitively conveyed. I also love how each track is mechanically "cerebral" and "cold" sounding, grand/ bold, odd, liminal, ambiguous, sophisticated, bright/ flashy, industrial, experimental/ new/ fresh, musically technical "sensory overload", nonconforming, and individualistic "noise music", yet also visceral, passionately raw/ "hot" and emotionally soulful, down to earth, comprehensible, directional, concise, gritty, dark, primal, primordial, emotionally moving, anthemic, infectious, and unifying; in short, "cool" yet still relatable. Each song feels like a shocking awakening turned into a life- altering epiphany turned into the instinctual determined call for movement, change, and action with a "the light at the end of the dark tunnel" feeling, the human psyche going through cognitive dissonance and clarity, stagnation and progression, death and rebirth, destruction and recreation; as if every major moment of upheaval that every human experiences at least once in their life was encapsulated and translated into music.
All of the songs in ATEEZ' The World Ep. 1: Movement sound "movie score" worthy. I could totally imagine these as BGM and OSTs for a dystopian cyberpunk movie with a lot of bleak, dark, gritty/gnarly scenes and niche obscured "underground" scenes/ societies. It's as if every extreme life - changing moment in the human psyche and experience when pushed past limits with all its grueling grave lows and glorious great highs and every complex extreme deep emotion in between, were all turned into songs, songs that come "full circle" as calls for "beginnings" and proclamations of "ends" of cycles, birth & death, revelation & revolution, stagnation & evolution, ambition & resignation, expression, repression, suppression, depression, immersion, liberation.. All encapsulated into an album. It all feels distinct yet also ambiguous, tangible yet also diaphanous, like a cliffhanger full of potential possibilities and "open doors".
The soundscape of this album paints a picture of how humans only truly reach their biggest potential when pushed past their limits. I also find it cool how album is aptly named The World: Movement and how it correlates with my perception of it; how each track & the entirety of the album feels all encompassing like it all comes into "full circle"(literally & figuratively like the Earth/ World) in many ways, how the album, the name, and everything else fits the story/ explanation behind their new Möbius loop logo.. And also with the movement name, the album gives me a sense of dynamic movement too in many different ways. Movement, in the sense of unified action for a cause, moving forward, getting up and taking action, changing perceptions and perspectives through exploring other schools of thought, and movement in the sense of viewing this album like how one would view the movements and stories in a classical music piece.
The World: Movement is such a fitting name for this. Their whole body of work this era with the album, the MV, the visual concepts, the promotion strategies, and the performances, truly is a whole package embodying Art and the essence of true revolutionary Artists; bringing about the electrifying winds of change and reform, creative expression and expansion, disruption for a cause, evocation and provocation of profound meaning, emotion and movement. If I were to sum up all of their past work, I'd say that so far, this era/album is their greatest work, their Magnum Opus. Truly a Marvel in time, they truly cemented their status as Mavericks in the industry with this. I think only their next future releases can possibly top this for me.
I am not usually fond of the use of excessive auto tune and vocal effects in music production, but they utilized it well in this album, it actually fits with the concept of the album too. The use of autotune / vocal effects and reverb gives me a feeling of being alone, shouting into a space of nothingness with just your voice echoing back at you, but then also an imagery of yelling into a megaphone / large speaker to be heard by others; desolation and hopelessness, and unification and hope, turning I into We. Text painting at its finest. I also love how there is an ever-present feeling of "tension" in all the songs, like the feeling before a thunderstorm when the air is thick and heavy, and you feel an almost tangible buzzing electric current in the air, when everything feels still yet you feel an anticipation for something impending. Listening to the album feels like standing still at the end of a cliff with my hair blowing in the wind, rolling storm clouds and rumbling thunder in the distance, hearing resounding lighting before a downpour, looking down at rocky peaks and raging seas beneath my feet. It's amazing how to me, the entire visual soundscape ties in "full circle" with the allusions to thunder, hurricanes, and rivers in the lyrics.
I love the musical direction and approach they took for the production of this album. I feel like the "messy" all over the place structure of Guerrilla and the rest of the songs in the album was intentionally done to fit the theme/ narrative and to shake things up and add shock value, adhering to their concept for this era along with the objective to "make noise" to make noise and be heard. What I mean by this is that, the songs sound untethered, metallic, mechanical, gritty, gnarly, raw, primal, unpredictable, heavy, dark, moody, uncomfortable, jarring, aggressive, chaotic, erratic, and like there's so much going on, because they mirror and paint the context of what happens in an uprising revolution; the effects of worlds destroyed to be rebuilt again and all its trials and tribulations on the human psyche, of beginnings and ends of cycles in full circle, of losses and gains, of the storm and chaos in the physical/ tangible/ material world and also in the internal/ psychological/ emotional worlds of the people involved in the upheaval of the industrial dystopian world, and how the human nature processes it all as individuals and as a society; the way this was done, seems to convey how the human nature experiences the impact of jarring change and disruption, along with the most extreme of uninhibited ferocious emotions from the grave grueling lows and great glorious highs people feel when pushed past their limits.
I find it interesting how the songs feel like open ended cliffhangers too. Because other than this album being a start of a movement in parts from the lore, it may also be because it implies for us to derive conclusions on our own about where/ how it should go from here, and also maybe because the context/ purpose of this album relating to it's target audience, is to leave potential possibilities and "open doors" in the mind for people to mull over, just like how in real life, major life upheavals leave us untethered with open options/ endings and potential possibilities to choose from.
When humans are pushed past their limits by an upheaval leading to a "clear blank slate"/ new world, a new potential for possibilities & decisions in life is paved, & you can choose to either let that experience break you or mold you, to either wither from it or to grow from it. ..I feel like this aspect in human nature, relates greatly with the way the songs and album were produced and influences how the prod team intended for us to perceive the songs/ album. Because even though we're not time-traveling space renegade pirates, we all have/had moments of realization, reckless abandon, rebellion, revolting, fear, hope, despair, desolation, triumph, camaraderie, unity, fury, outrage, vigor, valor, ambition, anticipation, desperation, determination, resignation, suppression, repression, oppression, depression, deception, expression, liberation, elation, gain, loss, resentment, disappointment, listlessness, emptiness, numbness, injustice, etc and such profound momentous experiences of the human existence as a collective, is artfully conveyed, interpreted, & filtered through ATEEZ' cinematic portrayal. This is why I love Ateez' music, they are and they give gifts that keep on giving. Through a whimsical theatrical artistic lens, they touch upon the driving forces behind the pulse of humanity. Life imitates Art, that's consistently true with ATEEZ.
Like how they have always done, they explored the inner workings of the human mind and the intricacies of the human experience and youth in this album too. But compared to their other eras, the chapter of The World Ep. 1: Movement is raw & gritty, stripped of naĂŻvety and whimsy. The jaded dreame tortured artist/ / scorned survivalist/ daredevil hero/warrior mindset of renegade anarchist rebel pirate musicians in a underground resistance was tastefully portrayed IMO. The whole album really gives off a "Do or Die. All or Nothing. We have nothing to lose. No fear. This is worth living/dying for." feeling to me. When I say this album changed me, I'm not kidding. Listening to it for the first time felt like a life-altering experience, as if I "shifted" to another perception of "reality". I was reborn, I grew, it changed me on a molecular level, it changed the trajectory of my life, I evolved, I was never the same again after this.
