2024.05.20 00:02 Sprites4Ever On Valve's rumored new PvP shooter game

If Valve think TF2 players are going to give Deadlock a chance because they trust the quality of Valve products and understand that one can't keep making sequels to the same thing, and that they are happy that Valve is once again putting their touch on the genre they popularized and bringing their trademark extreme innovation to it, they're mistaken.
I, for one, don't think this is real. It could be, but given Valve's ethos of staying on the cutting edge of technology (hence why they aren't updating TF2), this looks generic. Unless the gameplay is radically different from what I speculate, this looks like a Valorant clone. Which is interesting, because Valorant was inspired by Counter-Strike and Overwatch, Overwatch being inspired by TF2. (Quote from Jeff Kaplan: "One of our greatest inspirations was definitely the Team Fortress series of games [...]") I don't think Valve would pour this much into a game if it wasn't revolutionary. They know the expectations people have, with how all their previous games were groundbreaking, but this looks like something that a million studios could offer, including the already established Valorant. Could be wrong, especially the screenshot mentioning lanes makes me think of League of Legends, so there might be a bigger focus on defense, but we'll see. While I'm not buying into any leaks until it's made official (Nintendo fan PTSD), I would give it a try. Valve should make this free-to-play and release it on multiple platforms, but give Steam players preferred treatment.

2024.05.20 00:01 CC_Sp1dr Spider Man: Miles Morales - Rewrite Ideas

So I've had these ideas for how I'd rewrite Spider-Man: Miles Morales for awhile, back when I was replaying this and Spider-Man PS4 before Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 released. I still enjoyed both games, the first especially. Though I have to come to agree that SM-MM has some narrative gripes; mainly with the villains. Since I already shared them with one Subreddit, I figured why not share it here: so feel free to flame me or share some thoughts on them.
1.) Turn Simon Krieger into Alistair Smythe
Krieger to me always felt kinda off-handed as a villain, leaving most of the dirty work to others and kinda proving Phin's point. That he is all bark and no bite. In coming up with the later change, I figured swapping Krieger for Alistair Smyther would be interesting for a couple of reasons. One being that having Smythe be Roxxon's head of R&D could open up the organization to a different enemy variety; making the Spider Slayer robots a threat Miles has to overcome. Second: it be a way to tie into the games whole "passing of the torch" story since Alistair in the comics took after his father Spencer Smythe. So Alistair could be motivated to escape his father's shadow in Roxxon much like Miles is carving his own path seperate from Peter. Third: honestly you wouldn't need to change the character personality wise; just make him more proactive as a villain.
2.) Keep Rick Mason Alive
An idea borrowed from Game Den's rewrite, I do like the idea of keeping Phin's brother alive and making him an active player in the story. Especially turning his death in the actual game into some supervillain origin story. The explosion that would have killed him instead giving him energy powers at the cost of needing to consume Nuform to survive. However if I were to keep Rick alive and give him superpowers, I'd have it be the case that Roxxon kept him under lock so he can more Nuform by force. Smythe is this hypotheical also taking advantage of Rick's position to weapons his powers and turn him into the companies private superpowered muscle. Specifically strapping him into some barely functional prototype battle armor, adding Nuform intakes to it, and making Rick this universe version of Beetle. I liked this approach for a few reasons, least of which being swapping out the Rhino spot later in the story. For one: if Rick is still alive, I like compound the mystery of what happened to him with the mystery of who Beetle is. I'd like the vision of Rick's armor being like Darth Vader's suit lore wise: in that it give him the ability to fly, hit hard, take hits, and fire out Nuform in concentrated beams; at the cost of needing to feed on Nuform canisters, not talking, and being puppeted by Smythe. Who is just stringing him along to meet quota in the hopes Phin is safe.
3.) Tinkerer's Changes
I also figured do this whole Beetle mystery with Rick would give Phin a redemption arc that doesn't happen last minute. By having the Rhino boss fight be swapped out with one where Miles and Phin's escape is halted by Beetle, Smythe via innercom just goating Phin into killing him, only for Miles to pull her back and discover Rick is the guy in the suit. This does mean for this hypothetical, Phin would be left in the dark about Rick's sickness and just assumed Roxxon killed him. Another change I'd make for her, in regards to her place in the Underground, she didn't take over leadership. She'd be a high ranking member who is trying to stir the gang into her direction while actual leaders of the group plot to cut her out the minute things turn south with her; figured this would dial back her comments when Miles confronts Phin with her secret after the repair shop mission. Blaming the leaders for attack Rio's rally when she needed a distraction for the bridge. The last change I'd make in regards to Phin is explaining why she'd never just went to the Morales for help after assuming Rick died. Since in this case she is working off of assumptions. Basically, taking elements from The Rabble (since to me Raneem is the better version of Insomniac Tinkerer): Phin was jealous of Miles. During the escape from Roxxon mission, before the two encounter "Beetle", Miles does answer Phin's question of whether he was going tell her he was Spider-Man by saying "despite what I was taught, yes". Miles would then throw her question back to which she'd respond with "had you not found out, no". Explaining that despite seeing Miles like a brother, she always thought she was the better of the two; and yet despite that, she lost her parents, her brother, her future, meanwhile Miles still has his. A minor change I would make for the Tinkerer would be moving her boss fight from the end of the game to the amphitheater mission. As with all these changes means the finale would be slightly different.
4.) The Ending
In short, the ending would still be the same: just with a bunch of elements changed. Miles and Phin end the Beetle boss fight by freeing Rick from Smythe control, though they all have to work together to stop the Underground from nuking Harlem via Phin's plan. When Rio shows her support for Miles as Spider-Man, Rick comforts Phin about her actions as the Tinkerer and that he only got strung along by Roxxon to protect her. The three go to try and stop the Underground, Miles gets kidnapped and fights Uncle Aaron. Phin and Rick arrive at the Oscorp convention and find out the Underground leadership has moved forward with cutting her out. Roxxon and the Underground fight throughout Harlem with Spider-Man, Tinkerer and Beetle trying to deesclate things. They try to move on with plan B: have Miles and Rick out absorb the plaza reactor before it goes critical. But then Smythe enters the picture with his own polished battlesuit that's basically combining his Slayer tech and Nuform with Phin's programmable matter. A boss fight ensues, the Mason's go down, Miles turn's the tide by repeatedly absorbing the Nuform from Smythe suit and sending it back at him. Miles and the Mason's save the day, but Rick is the one who sacrifices themself instead of Phin; and Smythe somehow survives but gets crippled and arrested.

2024.05.19 23:59 BirchHiker “Clashing” with Food Service Director

Has anyone had any issues with clashing with the food service director? Need to vent. I’m at a small 82 bed LTC/Rehab facility and we have both full time in house FSD and dietitian - me. We also both have the same amount of long term care AND healthcare WORK experience. Minus of course the FSD’s culinary degree and my clinical dietitian degree plus internship. FSD’s background is chef for several years plus catering events. FSD and I are the same gender, and FSD is 10 years older than I am - both considered department heads. Keep in mind upon first formally meeting the FSD, FSD said, “Not to put down the years of degree you have, but it’s all pretty much common sense”. My goal is to do my job, do what is best for the patients/reasidents, and try to have at MINIMUM cordial relationships with coworkers. FSD yelled at me three times at the beginning of this week (the day before leaving for vacation for a week) about me needing to be in the kitchen more, that I’m part of the kitchen, that I’m not a nurse, and all I do is go into the kitchen to “nitpick” - audits are what FSD is referring to. FSD also won’t even give me codes to the kitchen or their office - which has the dry food storage. Almost constantly expressing they are stressed about not having enough help to everyone, people including myself offer general or specific help to FSD which is declined. Employer switched to in house kitchen in October after having been a contract company for years. Survey came in one week later - both FSD and I out the whole week for health issues - so no experiencing survey or even a bad survey (facility got deficiency free). Not sure if FSD doesn’t realize what I do do on a daily basis, I also don’t get a lot of communication from them. This week I have of course been doing most of their job in addition to my own with some help from a great cook in the kitchen. This same cook wants to quit d/t saying FSD is not doing their whole job, and kitchen alone also has a higher rate of turnover than the whole facility. Coworkers/(A)DON/admin see what is occurring, keep saying FSD and I have to “fix this” not sure what I am able to do different. I am just trying to do my job and am again wanting at minimum cordial relationships with coworkers. Is that too much to ask? Regional dietitian says I should report it all with FSD to HR - also concerned about retaliation even though I know I shouldn’t, purely because FSD would know of course that it was me. Hope that makes sense and wasn’t too much word vomit - I’m just not looking forward to FSD returning this week especially after having such a smooth, and also more enjoyable week this week while FSD on vacation

My classmates and I worked on a project together for an assignment. We decided to keep working on it and we are nearly ready to release an alpha! It's called Indoctri-Nation!
It is a real-time strategy game where player take on the twisted role of a cult leader trying to grow their power and corrupt the minds of the local population. Players will need to think strategically or risk being detected by the weak minded authorities. Players must choose how they structure their cults hierarchy and pick which skills and dark rituals their cult has in order to best maintain and grow their dark influence!
Trying to get excitement and engagement for the game as we get close to release! We also are looking for people interested in playtesting the game. We want to make a game players will love but we need the players' opinions to do it.

The MLB is ready to talk about game blackouts, a change is now in question.
Per the Athletic, “Commissioner Rob Manfred and some of the sport’s owners are seriously talking about nationalizing baseball’s TV rights.”
Baseball owners in small markets want to grow media “revenues,” and to do this, they would need to “centralize the deal-making, and from there, to potentially sell all 30 teams’ regular-season broadcasts as one streaming package.”
But there are teams in large markets that make the most money who are “vehemently” opposed to this idea.
While MLB has various national broadcast media deals for postseason baseball with FOX and TBS, and Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN, individual teams (…. like SNY…) control most of their regular season “inventory, as well as the chance of television stations they partner with inside their home markets, per the Athletic.
What does this mean for you?
If MLB and the teams agree to doing away with local rights, this could “eliminate many of the blackout restrictions that frustrate fans,” per the Athletic.
And why can’t MLB just turn around and nationalize local rights tomorrow?
Because teams have existing contracts with regional sports networks, some running into the 2030s. Per the Athletic, “These deals have often promised exclusivity to the RSN, such that MLB couldn’t just turn around and bundle the games as it saw fit with a simulcast.” And even if teams agreed to nationalize local rights, MLB would have to wait until some contracts expire.
Dodgers TV contract goes through 2038. The NYMets contract with SNY was not mentioned.
For this to happen: MLB will have to negotiate with the players union because “revenue sharing between teams is collectively bargained,” per the Athletic. The next CBA negotiations is 2026.
So what does this mean? We’re years away of a nationalize MLB broadcast which could eliminate blackouts. However, the conversations have started.

Hello divers Im here just cuz this sub use to be so much fun to see around reddit, before sony happened, i hope things go well with the blocked region and so others can get back to the game
I was looking around the sub a bit and noticed you guys are really quick with ya hands to type in the arrows for support stuff so i thought maybe a little quick type in the chat if it gets to be a norm would help a lot with communication, of course more experienced and actuall players can come up with the best communication techniques like this to help out the team and the leader managing the fight, so here it is
Since the fights are so intense and there is not much time to type some quick signs to notify the team about your intentions or instructions would go a long way
Some thing like typing in "w" as a signal for moving towards the north or "d" for east, "s" for south and "a" for west, this are only usable on keyboard ofc but this are the keys i want to not let go of when im in a fight in games
Or assigning a number to eack player like 1234 to combine them with wasd to command a member to move to the nearest point of interest in their direction, this kind of signs are easy to understand despite language barrier in games specially if the game make some sort of standard for it to add a bit of detail to the said message sent by members, like if the leader punch in 1w green player gets notified about it to have a quick action that needs to be done fast ongoing, or "1ww" keep pushing forward or "11" hold your position or "1ss" tactical retreat or anything that makes sense for you guys that actually play haha

2024.05.19 23:46 synodos advice on structuring the repair of one-acre property?

I know this is a big ask, but I'm hoping someone here can advise me on structuring the overhaul of my one-acre property, which is currently overrun with invasives. It's gotten completely out of control, first due to my ignorance and then to several years of chronic illness, but now I'm ready to start the process of taking charge. Due to being out of commission for a long time, I'm extremely light on cash and friends, lol, so I'll have to do the work myself, but I'm feeling capable, if a little overwhelmed. I also have wicked ADD, so I know I need to start with a general plan or else I'll immediately get "overstimied" and give up or else get lost in the quicksand of "procrastivity." :)
Below is a list of the infections my property is facing, and below that is a list of potted natives I have waiting to replace the invasives. (My understanding is that I should plant something native immediately after removing an invasive so that something noxious doesn't move into the empty space.)
I would really, really appreciate any advice you guys have on timing, prioritizing, methodology, or anything you think will be helpful. <3
I'm in Eastern Massachusetts, in the Gulf of Main Coastal Plain ecoregion (https://bplant.org/region/807); I have a full array of sun-exposure areas, from full shade to full sun; my soil is not the best since I've only just started working on it by topdressing with compost and sheet mulching where I can, but it's benefited from not being OVER-worked, at the least. I purchased a bottle of triclopyr (Bonide's Stump-Out Stump and Vine killer), but so far all I've done is stare nervously at it.
INVASIVES
I have just finished taking down all of the FLOWERING garlic mustard. Now I have:

non-flowering (first year?) Garlic Mustard - a concentrated 25-square-foot area; allelopathic but at least I have another year before they flower
Oriental Bittersweet - massive infestation, it is literally everywhere; honestly it is the only thing holding my shitty fence together, haha, but I know it's gotta go before it sets fruit again
Multiflora Rose - four large bushes
Honeysuckle Bush - three large bushes
Japanese Barberry - one giant bush that was presumably planted by landscapers 10+ yrs ago and then 4-5 small volunteers throughout the yard
Tree of Heaven - 2 tallish, 2 small; the canes of these are no more than an inch thick, so at the very least I can cut them back, even if I'm not able to dig them out

My property also has four mid-sized White Mulberry trees, a crap-ton of purple irises, and an endless ocean of Vince and Lily of the Valley, but I didn't include them in this list because those seem the least offensive, unless you think otherwise.
NATIVES
I either received these as free leftovers from a plant sale I volunteered at or dumpster-dove them from the garden center where I work, so it's a big hodge-podge, but I'm not in a hurry for anything to look put together; aesthetics here are tertiary to supporting wildlife and filling in spaces to suppress invasives. (* indicates a seedling or young plant, otherwise they're mature plants.)

WHO AM I?
My name is Kane (28) and I’ve been a gm for almost 2 years now with my real life group and our 1 year anniversary with the 2 online groups all wandering around in Nexovius is coming up. Having a humble 48 sessions +2 one-shots under my belt in total, but who keeps track am I right... Beside Dming I work several days a week and attend a master of architecture and urbanism at university.
WHAT KIND OF DM AM I?
I like making a lot of maps for my party to immerse them more in the game. I also 3D-print mini’s for my offline group their, NPCS and monsters they encounter. Online I make use of Owlbear Rodeo and make tokens and maps to immerse the players.
I’m the kind of DM who thinks the immersion and fun are the most important aspects of a good game of dungeons and dragons. I’d love to immerse my players in my world and fulfill their wishes and needs in a fitting way in the campaign, through combat and interesting story telling. I try to implement backstories as much as possible within the story. Always trying to make each player feel unique and important within the story. So if you ever got some ideas you would like to discuss with me feel free to do so and we’ll see how we can make it fit within the narrative. Be reasonable with this and don’t start asking for unreasonable requests. The campaign will a good mixture of serious roleplay and humor. I try to roleplay/combat like 60/40 I’d say. Might be the other way around I think it heavily depends on where the party is within the story.
HOW ARE WE PLAYING?
We'll be using owlbear rodeo for the V.T.T. and Discord for voice calling. Using various maps, imagery and theatre of the mind.
CROSS-PLAY HOMEBREW WORLD
I’ve set up a discord server called the Chronicles of Nexovius wherein a lot of information about Nexovius will be displayed for your party. Think about maps you obtain/certain, NPC’s you met, monsters you have encountered, information about the world, cultures, locations and its inhabitants. You can always make your own notes of course. Currently we have 3 groups roaming around in Nexovius. If you would join I would highly suggest checking out as much as you can to read up on what happened so far. Or don’t and be surprised along the way.
The discord server I host functions as a hub for all three the groups to hang out in and discuss the world and whatever pops up.
The idea is to have multiple parties take on an adventure within the world of Nexovius. Wherein together with other parties you slowly fill in this chronicle. Your party saved a king? It will come up in the timeline. Another party went rogue and are now wanted. It will now be displayed on the timeline. A meteor crashed somewhere? It will now be displayed in the timeline. Want to sell this item your party doesn’t use? Sell it on the grand exchange, a place where you can buy and sell goodies to the other parties! This way you experience more from the world you are playing in. Making it feel more alive, interactive and immersive. I also like to come up with one-shots taking place in different regions of the world. So you fully get a feeling of what happens in other parts of the world. It also allows you to play together with party members from different groups.
We’ve had a one-shot where the party had to extract an orc-chieftain from Borealis and it’s legion of warforged. Currently we’re scheduling part 2 (Two-Shot Technically) of a desert-race through The Scorch a mystical desert of sorts.

WHAT WILL THIS GAME BE LIKE?
It’s an open world like RPG wherein the world map is provided and the party can go wherever it pleases by foot or by caravaan. The map is provided with a lot of Points of interest. During overworld travel there is also a chance of experiencing random encounter like monsters that attack the party on the road or an NPC which approaches the party. Based on where the party goes on the map that’s the adventure they might go on based of certain plot hooks. Once the party arrives at a POI I will try to tell a linear story if the party engages with the plot hooks. But the outcome is truly dependent on the actions, words and deeds of the party.

In general, take away the panty shots, and use the YouTuber censor from the start. If player want to mod it in they can. (Kinda like how sims 4 has whicked whims, optional but not at all supported by ea)
I’m fine with them being minors, crushes happen during that time in real life. Just the pervy stuff I don’t like
Make Ayano’s parents normal. Because I would want Ayano to be AN ACTUAL YANDERE. Not an emotionless psychopath. She should be allowed to feel emotions and make friends without faking it due to some made up genetic illness.
For Muja, add a new club, a nursing club, grants the player access to the medical cabinet. She would be in the club and the appropriate age, no coercion, no weird adult x minor shit. She’s still very caring and ditsy.
For Muja, scrap her entirely. Maybe with a male rival. I personally like lgbt characters in games, maybe this character is open about it. Through his week, he helps Taro with feeling comfortable in his own skin. And taro develops feelings from this. Or take a platonic approach, they both genuinely enjoy each other’s company. Maybe instead of a love proposal, the rival feels unsafe with his current living situation, and ask taro if he could stay with him. Taro then tells him that his family loves the rival and they live together. Pisses a real yandere off
Hanoko: maybe he has a crush for Ayano, thus making her harm to eliminate or get away with anything. If she catches you, she’ll tell taro because she fears for his safety.
Get rid of 1980’s mode. Make that shit a like a harm mode

Well here's a post where I'm almost inviting everyone to roast me for free, but it's reddit so I don't care. These are my negative opinions are whatever champions I have in this game (as of patch 5.1). I'll try to avoid problems due to 'damage creep' but due to 'design/game experience' problems. I would actually love if someone could share some insights that could change my opinions on any of these champions. Or you could be that angry redditor in the comments screaming away at me willing to die on a hill for your champion. Eithers fine.
You'll notice there's a general theme of "uninteractive", "there is no counterplay in XYZ scenario", and "effort-reward ratio" which equals to "This is not fucking fun to play against"
Tryndamere: Rework his ult. It's design is one of the most braindead and toxic things to deal with ever. It's not actually that bad in-game as I'm describing it because most champions have some gap closecc, it's just from the receiving end experiencing it I don't think anyone will describe it as 'it felt fun'. His ult design is basically a "I'm going to die, so let me try and turn on you for 5s and try to kill you." And since he takes ghost and flash, it either plays out as after a series of extremely good trades and well plays on your end, he suddenly turns on you and kills you, OR he plays extremely badly and gets a free get-out-of-jail card and runs away. Yes he still loses a massive amount of gold to the turret, but the universal response to dealing with a champion in this game is KILLING them, and tryndamere is the only champion that violates that. It's a really toxic and cheap design for an ult.
Singed: His entire playstyle is about avoiding interaction and wasting everyone's time as much as possible. It's just not conducive to the game design based on how the rest of the champions was designed; based on INTERACTION.
Sett: I can't say anything bad about sett I just strongly dislike how stupidly high his low his skill floor to impact ratio is. The most newbie player can just run at any tank, press ult, E, W and win his team the entire fight. Again, I'm not saying he doesn't require skill. He's actually a very hard champ to get good at. It's only that the worst players can pick him up and impact the game way bigger than they should be ever able to at their skill level.
Camille: Not a negative opinion but my own perference. Undo her rework, like, all the way to on-release. I stopped playing her because I enjoyed her difficult kit but she got oversimplified. Basically her old kit Q used to require re-tapping the ability to reactive, W only had bonus applied on the outer half instead of the entire cone (and I think no healing or no slow? I can't remember), and E had no cd refund and atkspd buff if you missed hookshot.
Yone: Please just delete this champion from this game. This guy for me is just riot's golden boy for the 200years meme. I don't care if his numbers were actually balanced, it's everything IN his kit that is just overloaded beyond saving. Hybrid damage, true damage, max health dmg, on demand shield, double crit, 2 abilties reduced by atkspd, 2 knockups, 3 gap closers, AOE on 3 abilties, zed's ult on a basic ability. He's also known for missing everything and still killing you because even if he misses his E and Ult, he can just gap close with 3rdQ and wail on you with Q and W for the same threat damage. Like wth?
Yasuo: I'm a yasuo main but even I won't defend his windwall. I think the rest of his kit is fine (especially since he has only 2 main damaging abilities, one gated behind a condition, and not 4 unlike yone which require 0 setup), but just something about his W being able to block entire ultimates and affect EVERY SINGLE ranged champion on the enemy team for FOUR seconds is just not right. Like there's just no counterplay. They don't even get to play the game. He definintely needs some sort of ranged peel since he is a melee adc but his windwall needs to be reworked in some way
Teemo: If you're a melee champion who has to deal with his camouflage lasting indefinitely in lane, it is some of the most degenerate playstyle I've ever experienced. There's just no counter to it. Every 25s, he just goes invis, blinds you, shts on you for 3 seconds, then dashes and runs away. This is if you're melee because you can't hide under tower and cs.
Lux: Undo her rework. Braindead as all hell. Too effective for how braindead she is, it's mindblowing. But her skin sells right
Kayn: His damage. It doesn't even matter what form you choose anymore. Well not that it did since his red form got buffed like 8 months ago
Evelynn: In soloQ, where you get punished for your team's mistakes, if you ever had to deal with a fed evelynn while you're playing adc....i think i would rather ff then have to put up with it. Especially when she reaches the point where she doesn't even need charm to kill you. Oh right, and if she takes electrocute she can do it lvl5 so she doesn't even need to be fed.
Yi: Draft diff. SoloQ. No CC = Depression. Like sometimes you first pick/second pick and then your team screws you over in champ select by not picking any CC even though the jungler blindpicks master yi. Like what do you do? Also has some really cheesy and cringe strats where the enemies can just turbo buff him with lulu/yuumi/shen and it is just SO turbo cringe to play against if your team has no HARD CC. Soft CC doesn't work (slows) . It must be exlcusively on-demand fast stuns, roots, taunts, etc. Not something like urgot's E beause it's too slow.
Ziggs: It's mostly about the laning experience for his opponents. Most uninteractive and degenerate playstyle I've experienced. You just sit 10 miles back, avoid any interaction, and lob bombs at the enemy. The only saving grace is that he is designed to be really punishable in-game by having a really low early mana pool so you can zone him away from minions. Oh and it you play any assassins you can give him ptsd. I know he's an artillery mage but it's just how low his interaction is in his intended gameplay design that really gets me...
Syndra: Same thing it's the laning experience for her opponents. Don't get me wrong, she has some really bad matchups. But, I'm talking if you play a short ranged champion, it's Ziggs 2.0 but worse. Except now you can't hide behind minions because her Q is a point and click, baiting it is almost pointless since you'll have to deal with it AGAIN in another 7s, she has a non-punishable mana pool so it doesn't matter if she spams every ability, which she does, and spams QE on cooldown to poke then stun you for free with no counterplay, and for all that she scales into an oppressive late game champion for free. Like, for how safe her laning is she doesn't get punished like Asol or Vlad AT ALL. Even if she misses, she doesn't get punished because she's 10yards back. If she misses her orb on E, the knockback is far and long enough that she can walk away perfectly fine. And if both hits, she ults you, procs electrocute, and kills you for free. The worst part is that with electrocute her ult damage early is actually significant enough that even you play any assassin you can't run at her and kill her for free unless you are at full health, which you will never be if you lane against her. Like, I think at least ziggs is fine since the counterplay is at worst you hide behind minions and stay even, but with syndra most of her abilties are point and click so if that specific case what do you do?
Zoe: Degenerate playstyle. She's actually decently hard to play given how easy she gets one shot by everyone in this meta but it's the fact she can 100-0 you from 2 screens away on cooldown. Maybe I just hate artillery mages.
Jayce: This might a wildrift damage problem thing and nothing to do with his kit, but his damage....just everything about his damage is wrong. The fact that he can unironically one shot you at level5 with just boots, has a gap closer and a disengage, and that he is allowed to spam his stupid AOE shockblast (so he doesn't even need to aim) that deals 100000damage on cooldown is just not right... He's basically a one-shot melee assassin but also gets to play ranged and spam his 10000million damage shockblock for free. Oh right, but he has a negative winrate because new players find him too difficult so they keep buffing him...
Samira: It's wildrush reset on takedown. You know how everyone hates katarina? Well her ult is a katarina ult that is MOVING. Meaning that you can be punished for your teammates mistakes which were not even your fault because she can now dash towards you. Imagine your frontliner just wanders in by himself, dies, and suddenly now samira flash ults into your face and wipes your team for your dumb teammate's mistake. She's really punishable into CC but drafting is something that no one does in soloQ. and if you just happen to play into a game where your team has no CC on boy does it feel so bad...
Tristanna: Too safe, scales for free. You know how people consider xayah an amazing soloQ champion because of her self peel? Yeah, tristanna ult may not be as good but he actually has 2. So unless you actually one shot him he's fine. And he scales even harder.
Pyke: The idea of a carry support is just fundementally wrong. Supports are not meant to carry because they are gold starved. So if you design a support to carry you better bet his kit is overloaded as all hell. And for pyke that's mainly that his ult resets. I hate reset champions. Just the threat that one ult can execute the entire enemy team below a certain threshold and MORE than DOUBLE the gold value is just not right.
Soraka: Undo her rework. Braindead healing bot.
Sona: I don't like her ult rework. It's just no fun to play against in teamfights because her ult has no counterplay. It's an on-demand AOE stun that remains in a zone for 3.5s. It's like TF's stun card but for everyone. It's like naut's ult but except instead of a delay it's instant. Instead of targetting just a single person it's an entire massive zone that basically forces you to face check it because it's so god damn big it ACTUALLY takes more time to walk around it than to get stunned for 1s. Your team could play around avoiding a teamwide AOE stun, but SOMEONE still has facecheck sona eventually to get her to use her ult. And when that happens there is NO counterplay to whoever's on the frontline (or whatever class they are most times not being an actual tank) getting separated from his entire team for 3.5s which might as well be a death sentence.
Yuumi: Delete this champion. Let me try to explain: We all know that Sekiro revolves around deflects, chipping away at the enemy's posture bar until it breaks and you can land a deathblow. Nothing new there, right?
While Lies of P mirrors Sekiro in that aspect, with perfect guards helping build up a stagger bar and allowing you to perform a critical attack after landing a charged heavy attack, there's more to the perfect guard than just that. The biggest difference is that it also triggers your rally system, allowing you to recover HP. This might be why the perfect guard seems to have a tighter window than the deflect from Sekiro. It's truly more of a high-risk, high-reward kind of deal. I'm not saying you can't master this mechanic to the point where you can land every single perfect guard, but what I am saying is that this game isn't a Sekiro clone and shouldn't be played as one.
Try approaching Lies of P as its own game and temporarily setting aside comparisons to other souls-like titles (especially Sekiro and perhaps Bloodborne). Instead of solely fixating on landing perfect guards, try incorporating all defensive and evasive mechanics into your playstyle, including guarding, perfect guarding, dodging, and rolling. Shifting away from the notion of "This game is a Sekiro clone, and I can just deflect every single attack." to a mindset of "Alright, I know for sure that I can perfect guard this attack." may lead to a more enjoyable experience overall.
Hopefully, this makes sense; I'm not trying to belittle anyone's gameplay or choices. You decide how you want to experience the game, and if focusing solely on perfect guards works for you, that's fantastic, and I hope you enjoy every moment.
