After visiting San Francisco for a friend's wedding for a weekend, my partner and I found ourselves staying in Japantown at Kabuki Hotel. Reason why I'm writing this review is because coming from out of town, we felt heavily cat-fished by this hotel and the reviews we read felt inaccurate to what we experienced. Hope folks coming from out of town to please triple check what they're getting at Hotel Kabuki.
-- How we found Kabuki --
After reading many recommendations online, including reddit that Kabuki hotel is highly recommended and that Japantown is a great area to stay. The pictures showed brightly lit rooms with modern contemporary style. We decided to book a queen sized bed room through Chase.
-- Check-In--
When we first checked-in, the lobby gave a great first impression. An updated bar, clean couches and overall, a chic open concept lounge where everyone was enjoying themselves. The host was welcoming, but unfortunately gave us the wrong room number. NBD.
-- Immediately, the bad --
On our way to the rooms, the hallways were a stark contrast to the lobby. Lights were dimmed with exposed lightbulbs. Paint job, carpet and elevator was dated and worn. It felt I was back in 2000s Hong Kong community apartments. Upon entering the room, we were surprised by two things: the size and the emptiness of it. About 40% of the room was empty space, decorated with a single chair + desk combo. Lamps were provided as the sole source of light. We had to request another chair to be brought up (clearly one brought from the lobby) or else we'd have to sit on the ground.
Our room was located in the second building on the 3rd floor, which on paper, seems like a decent height. But in reality, it's right next to the streets where I felt closer to the homies each night. You can infer from the latter that sound proofing is almost non-existent in the room. We had to request earplugs to make due each night.
-- The Good --
The room was really clean despite the whole room being borderline dingy. The bathroom and shower were 2x the size than it needed to be. Water pressure was good. Hair dryer and basic toiletries were provided.
-- Ending Notes --
Check-out was quick but they inform you about additional destination fees that are only briefly mentioned during booking. These are NOT included in the price of the hotel so PLEASE beware. We ended up getting charged an extra $120 for 3 nights.
Kabuki is a standard 3 star hotel with nothing much to write home about. The pictures are definetly heavily filtered and videos online are always filmed on bright days. This is in our opinion NOT a 4 star hotel. It provides all your necessities and gets the job done. I would NOT recommend out of town folks to stay here unless you really like Japantown (which as of 05/16, the pagoda is under construction until 2026).

Hello to all you wonderful projector experts! I'm after a bit of advice in choosing a projector so that I can host movie nights at my house. I've been doing a bit of research (watching lots of youtube videos, reading lots of reviews here and elsewhere) but would love some input.
At the moment my preference would be for an ultra short throw projector. The two that have popped up for me within my budget and seem well reviewed as the Hisense PX2-Pro ($2900AUD) and the slightly cheaper Hisense PL1H ($2200AUD). The prices I've listed are based on what I've seen over the last few months in Australia, so please bear that in mind.
I've listed some details according to the wiki below:

Maximum budget - $3000AUD (roughly $2000USD) at most.
Screen size - I intend to purchase a screen down the line as I can't really afford both at the same time. The room I'll be setting up in is 4.6 m x 4 m and with little else in it other than the couch and a piano, so hopefully enough space for a large screen.
Distance from back wall or preferred mounting position to screen wall - As I mentioned, I am leaning towards a UST.
Seating distance to screen - ~4-4.6 metres.

Room type: Dedicated, Mixed use, Living room - Mostly dedicated to the projector. I also have a piano in the room but that's about it.
Ambient light, through lighting or light leakage from windows - the room gets some light - there is a large hedge outside that provides a fair bit of shade, and blinds. I intend to purchase blackout blinds in the future.
Room colors: Walls, Ceiling, and floors - Walls and ceiling are white/creme, and the floor is carpeted (grey).

The other consideration is sound, of course. I don't have a great sound system at the moment, and if the projector I purchase will require that, it's just another expense to add to the 'buy it down the line when I can afford it' list.

2024.05.20 06:57 TheMetalGodX Can Anyone For the Love Of Piper Help Me? LOL

Okay I have been playing for the last few weeks since the NG update came out and surprisingly at first the game was running smooth with mods. Ever since F4SE and related mods have been updating I have literally had the game crash on me every 5 to 10 minutes. I have scoured the internet and tried every fix I could find to no avail. Buffout 4 hasnt been updated for NG yet so I am not getting crash reports.
Here's my PC Specs:
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X at 5.6Ghz
64GB Ram at 3600Mhz
Nvidia RTX 4080
Samsung 970 Evo M.2 SSD
I shouldn't have hardware issues with this game.

Feel light headed.
The trouble is my blood pressure can vary so much throughout the day. When I see the doc in the AM and after coffee, it's typically at normal levels - 115/70 or something like that. I'm 45, female. Now, it's 9pm in the evening, I just ate, and it's this. I did feel faint upon standing, which has always been a thing since I was a kid.
I will say it's gone down recently even more having started exercising and cutting down on salt and sugar and saturated fat, but my pressure has always been on the low side, especially diastolic. When I eat crappy it hovers round 120/75. I may have EDS/hEDS/HSD, which often comes with POTS, and will be getting examined for that in a week and a genetic test shortly - my shoulders are popping out and my elbows are hyper extended.
I'll tell my doctor about this reading when I see him on Friday.
47 seems rather low, and I recall the oral surgeon not wanting to sedate me when removing my wisdom teeth at 15 because my "blood pressure was way too low".
Still, no medical professional has ever flagged this, and I've been in inpatient before and had my BP taken later in the evening with no one getting concerned. However, I am starting to realize most medical professionals aren't keen on flagging anything that isn't an acute emergency. A DEXA just came back with osteopenia and my GP couldn't be bothered to even tell me. I had to ask.

How do I connect 4 of these together to a wire from an existing fixture I'm removing?
Is it as simple as just wiring the 4 boxes to each other, do I daisy chain it, or what? I have Romex 14/2 and also 12/2 wires, being told different things on which to use. But more importantly, there's currently an old fixture in the middle of the room, if I cut that out, can I wire 4 of these to that fixture without hiring someone?
Also, I'm seeing there's 2 sets of wires because this is a double light fixture, can I attach 2 recess lights to each wire using romex to the 2 boxes?
I'm comfortable replacing outlets myself and doing 12v work, just not yet comfortable with fixtures and want to learn during this renovation.
I appreciate any assistance, just trying to get a straight answer before moving forward.

2024.05.20 05:31 Familiar-Corgi9212 Acoustically transparent screen and projector for under 3k?

I am totally new at this, so please forgive me for being possibly ignorant. I just don’t know what equipment is ‘good’ vs ‘crap’ and where to begin. I have a killer sound system already, and we are moving from a 65” tv to something much bigger. Luckily, our room is huge and totally blacked out, so light pollution isn’t an issue. I want my center channel mounted behind the screen. Absolutely. So, since there are plenty of experts here, is it possible to get a decent projector and AT screen for 3 grand? I can fit a 120” screen, which would be ideal.
I have also considered a UST projector, but apparently there is no compatible screen that is also acoustically transparent. Am I wrong about that?
Any input would be appreciated. Btw, I love diy projects, if it saves some cashola.

2024.05.20 05:13 djuffmr 40l RTX 4070ti 12gb - Freezing

I have a brand new 40L with 4070ti 12gb, i7 14700f, 32gb that is freezing while gaming on a 1440p monitor. As the GPU hits around 70 -75 degrees it either freezes on screen or looses signal to the display, keyboard lights go out, fans and case rgb stay on and I have to hard shut-down with the power button. I have installed msi afterburner and adjusted the fan curve which has worked with the gpu fans spinning at around 80% at 70 degrees Celsius. Does anyone else have this gpu and are able to game with ultra settings and no issues?
