2024.06.01 15:33 cusman78 Crazy Kung Fu on PSVR2 - First Impressions

I have uploaded gameplay from my fresh experience with the game here if you want to see how it looks / plays. My first impressions are shared below:
[]()
Based on my limited time with it, I do not recommend playing Crazy Kung Fu on the PSVR2.
It is a Kung Fu martial arts inspired fitness game where you punch, block and dodge using full body movement (including squats) in room-scale (minimally 2m x 2m) and your two hands. It provides multiple environments to choose from that are quick to unlock when you play the Train mode and it also has a variety of Braces and Masks available to unlock to customize your Avatar for use in competitive Multiplayer mode which does feature cross-play with other VR platforms.
Nearly all of your gameplay is against wooden polls with randomized rotating components. Your goal is to punch or block with good accuracy (timing & force) and dodge (squat or step back) all blades. You are shown your accuracy during play and more stats about your performance at the end of each level. You can play all levels on Apprentice or Expert. The game features ~70 levels across multiple game modes.
The multiplayer mode when I would try playing with my wife on PSVR2 from same home network would work fine (whether I host or she hosts), but would crash consistently at the end of any Round. When I played with other randoms (not PSVR2 players) available in public matchmaking lobbies, the game did not crash. I could join and play on their hosted room or create my own room until one of the randoms joins and it would work fine. There is no in-game voice chat for cross-play multiplayer but it provides you a menu board of canned messages you can send to other player like GG, Nice! etc. While playing multiplayer, it is the same game as Train, except you have random attacks you can send to other player. Playing multiplayer clears your calorie tracker for the day.
Graphics of the game are clear but not crisp which I take to mean lower-resolution. It is also using reprojection because if you move you can see heavy ghosting of any of the text that is displayed. This is disappointing for a game with such a simple art style. It should be running native 120 and higher resolution on the PSVR2.
Soundtrack and sound effects are one area that I think game is nailing. An improvement would be to have the configurable Shifu (18:30) be voiced so you don't have to look to see what feedback your Shifu (Master / Trainer) is giving for your gameplay.
Haptics is an area of missed opportunities. The game is using haptics but the most I felt was playing Wing Chun when your arms are touching the Dummy sticks (?) and it is just an on/off rumble rather than giving the kind of finer haptic feedback that I know the PS VR2 Sense controllers are capable of giving. There is also no haptic feedback in headset when you take damage (failed to dodge blade or got hit by arrow in multiplayer). Punches & Blocks have haptics but aren't conveying good vs weak hits like the audio/visual feedback is conveying. Although the virtual menu of the game is intuitive and easy to use, none of the interactions are providing that tactile haptic feedback.
The game does feature a Platinum trophy, but I expect that will stay at 0% or be one of the rarest for anyone that does manage it because it has ridiculous trophy expectations like 100 day streak. It also has calorie burn related trophies (up to 500 calories in 1 day) which is fine for a fitness game, but not if it loses track between play sessions for same day or resets to zero for the day if you play any multiplayer. Many of the other trophies are expecting high-skill / dedication. The game came out very recently and has very few players so some of it makes sense, but as of now it has over 30 trophies not including Platinum sitting at 0%.
There are no VR comfort options, but this game doesn't need it since all movement is room-scale.
We both like the idea of the game as we both look for and appreciate games that provide a fun aerobic workout, but this is not a good port to the PSVR2. It isn't making use of stronger hardware to provide higher resolution (not a big deal to us), higher 90-120 framerates so there isn't any unnecessary reprojection (made my wife feel dizzy) or better haptics. It also crashes consistently when we try to play multiplayer together.
I may feel differently about the game overall if they can patch the multiplayer from crashing for us and get rid of the unnecessary reprojection, but as it is now, I don't recommend it.

2024.06.01 14:21 Asselsau tModloader visual bug shaking static objects

Hello everyone!
I recently completed my first Expert run and started a fresh Master mode run with a new character. With this run I thought it would be nice to play with some QoL mods such as boss checklist and the likes of it, so i downloaded tModloader.
Everything was working fine for the first 2-3 hours, but then suddenly the gameplay started feeling very choppy. If you watch the video I added, it looks like the game is freezing for a very short time every second or so. It makes static objects like trees and houses look like they constantly wiggle back and forth while moving, which makes the gameplay feel laggy and me dizzy.
Link to gameplay with wiggling objects
Has anyone ever experienced this behavour? This only happens in tModloader, but not Terraria for me (even without any mods installed). My PC specs are quite good (Ryzen 5900x, RTX 3080, 32gb ram, SSD), so I don't think thats the problem. Things I tried so far:
None of this helped, and the weird thing is this problem suddenly started after 2-3 hours of gameplay without and troubles. Please, if anyone has ever encountered a similar problem, I would be very thankful for your help!

2024.06.01 13:09 BigBelly1112 Journey begins! Day 1 of learning excel

I recently saw a post here about how to get started with Excel and checked out the top comment. I was amazed at how resourceful you all are—I took notes and wanted to genuinely thank everyone who puts in the effort to help others.
I'm a newbie in Excel, planning to start with the basics on YouTube (please share any recommendations if you have them). I’m thinking of starting with "Excel Is Fun" (heard about it from this sub). If any of you have used his content, could you suggest the best order to begin my learning journey, given his extensive playlist?
My motivation to learn Excel is to add this skill to my resume, and I'm genuinely excited to start from scratch. I’d really appreciate it if anyone could share a fresh roadmap for topics to cover on day one or specific YouTube videos to watch. I'll try to post updates here daily to keep myself accountable and to share my progress.
Thank you for reading this. Hopefully, with effort and experience, I’ll be able to give advice to others here one day!

2024.06.01 12:06 BrodyBlue65 About the “Eiffelites” Facebook page

So as some of you may or may not know, I was the creator of the Eiffelites fan page on Facebook that started back in 2013. There hasn’t been an update for a while and I feel you all have the right to know why..
So, my original Facebook account, that I used to create the page, was hacked into a few years ago. My passwords were changed and Facebook support did nothing about it. By the time I was able to get through to someone it was too late.. the hackers (or Facebook) deleted my account.
Therefore, I have no access to the Facebook page at all and cannot update it on my current account as Facebook doesn’t recognise me as the owner.
So the Facebook page is dead, basically…
However, all is not lost, as I am planning on bringing it back sometime soon. This time on another platform. I’m thinking maybe Discord as I’m extremely active there.
Anyways, I hope that answers your questions about the status of the Eiffelites Facebook page. I still have access to the YouTube channel though but am planning to start fresh.
If you’re interested, let me know.

2024.06.01 11:54 AlternativeTeach8198 GPU upgrade goes wrong.

Hi,
I've been trying to upgrade my setup with a 4070S Windforce from my 2070S EVGA. But there might be something wrong, this is the 4th card that i received, and the same problem, over and over, so it might not be a GPU problem, more like my setup or my dumbass problem.
So list of my components can be found here : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yMphz6
This is my current one, and i'm trying to upgrade to this GPU : https://pcpartpicker.com/product/HCkH99/gigabyte-windforce-oc-geforce-rtx-4070-super-12-gb-video-card-gv-n407swf3oc-12gd
First of all, i know, nzxt doesn't recommend the use of such thick card, limit is near 48 mm if i remember correctly, this one is near 55. BUT, i've been waiting for a Meshlicious Case for ages now, and to compensate the negative impact, i've removed the tempered side panel to help with temps (Which are very low)
Also, i'm using the corsair 12VHPWR cable : https://www.corsair.com/ffp/pc-components-accessories/cp-8920331/premium-individually-sleeved-12-4pin-pcie-gen-5-12vhpwr-600w-cable-type-4-black-cp-8920331
So, now, the problem i encounter. I've received a new one Yesterday, used DDU and installed it. As the previous one, windows started and i got a black screen while doing random stuff (Youtube + Game) after an amount of time. Restarted it, same stuff it crashed when i used windows file explorer.
So i've looked a bit on internet, found someone talking about XMP, couldn't find it, learnt that asus have it's own stuff, so i changed DOCP to enable (Yikes), F10 and it runned like a charm for the whole evening.
Started this morning, same shit, random black screen when i try to do something, switched back docp to disable, didn't change anything... Weird thing though, i can do whatever i want in BIOS, it won't crash.
Do anybody have an idea? I'm starting to think it's a windows problem and i will probably do a fresh install of it.
P.S : It's been a long time i haven't wrote that much in English, pardon me if there is mistake in the text + Reddit app is not helping me

2024.06.01 11:52 jetstreamer2 [ROLEPLAY] The Statue of Victory

Following the fall of the Caliphate and the liberation of Constantinople, the Second Roman Republic emerged victorious, and in commemoration of this pivotal triumph, a magnificent Statue of Victory was erected in the Port of Rhodes, where the legendary Colossus of Rhodes once stood.

Excerpt from: An Unabridged History of Rome, Chapter 20 of 100: The First Fifty Years of the Second Republic, Page 370
vibe

The Battle for the Forum of Constantine

The century from Rhodes, a unit of hardened soldiers, found themselves at the heart of the decisive battle for Constantinople. Their mission: to secure the Blue Mosque, a critical strategic objective. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the ancient city, the soldiers prepared for what would become a grueling and relentless fight.
"Advance with caution," Evocatus Antonius barked, his voice steady despite the chaos. The streets of Constantinople echoed with the sounds of gunfire and explosions as the Rhodian soldiers moved through the narrow alleys, their senses heightened and nerves on edge. The Caliphate fighters, well-entrenched and determined, fought back fiercely, making every inch of progress a hard-won victory. They had already survived seven suicide bombing attempts today.
As they approached the Blue Mosque, the resistance intensified. Machine gun nests and sniper positions forced the Rhodian soldiers to take cover behind crumbling walls and abandoned vehicles. The air was thick with the acrid smell of vaporized civilians and the constant rattle of automatic fire.
"Move! Move! Move!" Tesserarius Lucius urged, leading a squad through a hail of bullets. They darted from cover to cover, returning fire whenever possible. Legionary Memmio, the youngest in the unit, was hit and fell to the ground. "Medic!" Lucius shouted, pulling Memmio to safety as the medic worked frantically to stabilize him.
Despite the casualties, they pushed on. The Blue Mosque was within sight, but as they crossed an open square, a hidden IED detonated, sending shrapnel in all directions. Several soldiers were thrown to the ground, and the screams of the injured filled the air. Evoactus Antonius, bleeding from a gash on his forehead, rallied his men. "We’re not stopping now! For the Republic!"
Reaching the Forum of Constantine, they set up a defensive perimeter. The ancient square, once a symbol of the gravitas of the empire of old, once again served as a battleground as it had 600 years ago when the ancestors of the Caliphate finally breached the Theodosian Walls. The Caliphate fighters, realizing the strategic importance of the Forum, launched a relentless assault. Waves of enemy troops surged forward, attempting to break the Rhodian lines.
"Hold your ground!" Decurion Marcus shouted, firing his Scorpio Heavy Cannon with an ever smaller supply of programmable airburst rounds. The century from Rhodes fought valiantly, their training and camaraderie evident in every coordinated move. But the sheer number of enemy fighters was overwhelming. Ammunition dwindled, and the cries of the wounded filled the air.
As hope began to wane, a powerful explosion rocked the ground, sending debris flying. When the dust settled, a remarkable sight was revealed: a statue of Victoria, the ancient Roman goddess of victory, uncovered by the blast. The soldiers, desperate and weary, took this as a sign.
"Victoria!" Tesserarius Lucius cried out, dropping to one knee in reverence. The others followed suit, paying homage to the goddess in a spontaneous and heartfelt prayer. "Grant us your favor and deliver us from this peril."
The enemy assault grew fiercer. The Caliphate fighters, emboldened by their numerical superiority, pressed the attack. The Rhodian soldiers, outnumbered and running low on ammunition, fought with every ounce of strength they had left. Hand-to-hand combat broke out as the enemy breached the perimeter of the Forum. Desperation set in as the defenders realized they were on the brink of being overrun.
Legionary Alexios, using his last grenade, managed to time his throw to detonate above a suicide bomber who took another 15 enemy soldiers with him, buying precious seconds for his comrades. But the situation was dire. Evocatus Antonius, clutching a makeshift bandage over a bullet wound in his side, ordered the last stand. "We fight to the end! For Rome!"
Just as the last of their ammunition was spent, the distinctive roar of Argentavis tiltrotors filled the sky. Friendly air support had finally arrived. The massive aircraft unleashed a barrage of firepower on the enemy positions, forcing the Caliphate fighters to pull back to cover. The tiltrotors hovered above the Forum, lowering ropes and medevac stretchers to evacuate the wounded and bring in fresh troops and supplies.
The arrival of reinforcements was nothing short of miraculous. The Rhodian soldiers, invigorated by the sight of their comrades descending from the skies, as if Victoria herself had arrived, launched a counteroffensive. With renewed strength and the tide turning in their favor, they pressed the attack, driving the enemy back and securing the Forum. The day was won, and their heroic stand would become legendary.

Erecting the Statue

In the aftermath of the war, the bravery and dedication of the Rhodian century were celebrated throughout the Second Roman Republic. Donations poured in from citizens moved by their courage, and a sense of renewed Roman citizenship flourished. The soldiers of Rhodes, honored and humbled by the support, decided to use the funds to build a monument to their victory and the divine favor they believed had saved them.
The Statue of Victory, a colossal representation of Victoria, was erected in the Port of Rhodes. Standing where the Old Colossus of Rhodes once welcomed travelers, this new monument symbolizes the resilience and unity of the Roman people. It serves as a reminder of shared history and enduring spirit that carried them through the darkest times to emerge victorious once more.
In the shadow of this grand statue, the citizens of Rhodes and visitors from across the Republic found inspiration and pride, knowing that the spirit of Victory and the legacy of their ancestors continued to guide and protect them.
It was also equipped with an Asterion Medium Range Missile Defense System housed in the head of the monument as well as two Jove Laser Systems, one for each eye, naturally.

Reason for Selling :- Fund Rotation and Scent Profile Preference
Date of Purchase :- 7th March, 2024

A small review from my end :
This is a very heavy dense woody, slightly Animalic and fresh warm spicy and leatherish fragrance. Most suitable for fall and winters, this is extremely masculine and rugged in its scent profile. This really just brings back that era of creative and fearless Tom Ford creations. Even though it happens to be a little tough to pull off for me, I absolutely love the smell of it and glad I could find a way to put my nose on it as it’s extremely rare and tough to find as it was discontinued shortly after it’s launch.
A few shorts on YouTube to help you understand it’s profiling.

2024.06.01 10:45 Ready-Bat-8824 May 2024 Hilaria Baldwin’s IG Recap = 5 Posts or “The Baby Also Has Sewer Slippers?!?”

May 2024 Hilaria Baldwin’s IG Recap = 5 Posts or “The Baby Also Has Sewer Slippers?!?”
~Hillary & Alec’s IG Stats~
  • January 2024 = Hillary 17 posts & Alec 28 posts
  • February 2024 = Hillary 8 posts & Alec 20 posts
  • March 2024 = Hillary 2 posts & Alec 21 posts
  • April 2024 = Hillary 4 posts & Alec 15 posts
  • May 2024 = Hillary 5 posts & Alec 28 posts
Hillary’s IG Stats Overview
  • May 2022 = 433 posts including the Chantecaille Episode = Hilz received lotions from luxury brand Chantecaille and posted a pic of Edu in a diaper with said lotions. The company didn’t repost, nor did they partner with her. Two days later, she donned her sewer slippers and accosted unsuspecting “needy” people, handing them gifts bags filled with Chantecaille lotions and $50 bills (and recorded herself doing so).
  • May 2023 = 18 posts including the infamous “humpy yoga” fiasco featuring unnerving eye contact.
Every choice in this video was wilder than the last.
  • May 2024 = 5 posts
~Recap~
  • May started with Alec appearing on the “Our Way with Paul Anka and Skip Bronson” podcast. I tried recapping it, but it was basically three boring privileged old white men rambling about their wealth and privilege. Anka’s description of living in a “Murdoch created” gated community near Malibu near the “good airport” – to avoid the unwashed masses at LAX one presumes – was where I gave up on the recap idea and just listened with a scowl.
  • Some lowlights:
On Having More Kids & Moving to Vermont
Alec: Well, in my family now, I'm the only person I know who drops four kids off at school in the morning and comes home and I still have three kids waiting for me. When I get home, I have seven - I have eight children. Ireland, my oldest daughter who's married, Ireland has a baby, and she and her boyfriend are living in Oregon. And I met my wife and I got remarried and I had seven kids in nine years. It's crazy. (I think you meant to say, “my wife is batshit crazy.” The devil is in the details, Zander)
And then, all of a sudden, I met my wife, who I love dearly, (I think he repeats this in virtually every interview to counter the years of talking shit about Kim Basinger) every time the baby would get to be two years old, we’d go, maybe it's time for one more baby, one more baby, so we have seven kids. But we're actually selling our house, moving to Vermont. We bought a place in Vermont, and I'm trying to get everybody to start to acclimate up there…I think my wife wants a little change of scenery now, it's so crowded out here…I love Vermont. It's so peaceful. We got a great deal. We got fifty-five acres; house was built in 1792. It's very pretty.
The Kids Want Alec Around All the Time
Host: What do you do away from your family? Meaning, do you play golf? Do you play tennis?
Alec: I play tennis all summer...The thing that's happened in these last ten years, especially the last three or four years, is my kids are used to me being around…I mean they really rely on that… when I'm gone, they're like, you know, they're on FaceTime. If I travel to go away for a couple of days to get a paycheck, they’re on my FaceTime going you know, where are you? What are you doing? You know, they're completely baffled when I go away. (God bless those kiddos and I’m preeetttttty sure they rely on Leonela/Leonetta a whole lot.)
Drug & Alcohol Use
Alec: Every day for two years, I think I snorted a line of cocaine from here to Saturn. We did one on the rings of Saturn. Then we came home. We took it back home. I mean, cocaine was like coffee back and everybody was doing it all day. I did a lot of coke and then I and then February 23rd, 1985…I stopped doing drugs and my drinking increased, which is they tell you that's going to happen, and that did happen. I just started drinking. I mean, and the thing, I miss drinking. I don't miss drugs at all, but I do miss drinking. I like to drink. (I appreciate next to nothing about this man, but I appreciate the honesty of this statement).
Host: But because you don't drink, and because you don't do drugs, what do you do? Do you meditate? What do you do to deal with the pressures of the outside, you know, forces, (I think you mean “lawsuits”, Paul) what do you do to get away from that?
Alec: (deadpan) Drink. I drink. I lied; I've been drinking nonstop since 1985. I lie. I tell people I'm sober and I drink my balls off. (Laughs) But no, I do miss drinking, I must say…New York relaxes me. I walk around and I see aspects of it that I've never seen before. I look at a building and I'll go, my god, I never noticed that about that building. Those doors. You know. New York is like a European city. You walk around and keep your eyes open. And I have lunches and coffee with my friends. (Um is he talking about the owner of Madman Espresso? Because that’s the only coffee related person we’ve ever seen him around.) And, I'd like to get out of here because the city is chaotic. (But also relaxing? What the hell?) But we live in the village. It's a little bit more residential. I love New York. I go to the symphony and the opera and the ballet all the time, you know, pretty regularly. But I do try to meditate. Meditating with seven children is like trying to play ping pong on the deck of an aircraft. It's a real pain in the ass. (But they rely on you, Alec?!?!)
  • Back on IG, Alec commented on a video that Ireland posted of Kim Basinger and Ireland’s partner, André, playing with baby Holland, apparently in the backyard of Kim’s home. The doting abuelo’s comment was “I know that pool deck!” – dude, say something, ANYTHING, about your daughter’s child.
He probably screamed at poor Kim on that pool deck.
An irate comment on Alec's IG: \"I cannot believe he is wearing street shoes on those floors!\" Now deleted.
  • People magazine published a puff piece entitled “Alec Baldwin Is 'Understandably Worried' as His Rust Involuntary Manslaughter Trial Looms” (Exclusive Source). Here’s the entirely of what the exclusive source Yoel had to say:
    • "Alec is stressed. He is understandably worried."
    • "He has an excellent legal team. I don't think anyone is thinking jail time but given the decision for Ms. Gutierrez-Reed it’s hard to know."
    • "You have to understand that at the end of the day Alec is a professional actor, so when he's on set, you wind him up, you say action, he pulls out the gun and does whatever he's supposed to do on his job. Then suddenly he's facing criminal charges. It's like, how did that even happen?"
  • In real news, the manslaughter charging document was released – interesting read!
  • Surprisingly, Alec did not post a tribute to his wife to honor her “mi cultura upbringing” on the first Sunday in May - when it's celebrated in Spain.
  • On May 6th, Alec’s lawyers vultures-for-hire filed additional motions to have the case dismissed while Said the Pap for hire posted a pic of himself with Crackhead Barney (who was wearing not much besides some Daisy Dukes a la Hillary Lynn) and Alec was spotted in the wild (with a nanny in tow, because only the peasants walk around without staff).
Imagine having to listen to this guy bloviate in addition to raising his kids.
A pepino prayer: Lord, keep the nannies safe and sane. Amen.
  • Over on his scintillating IG account, Alec posted the news that he will be co-directing a production of Macbeth with Geoffrey Horne for Shakespeare Downtown this summer. Good thing this will be in June, because there might be a bit of a scheduling conflict for Alec in July.
  • Alec posted two pictures of Edu: one totally scrunched in a too-small stroller and one making the patented Baldwin duck lips. Against all logic, the pic of the kid perched on a tiny stroller became the picture Alec chose as his new profile pic.
  • On Mother’s Day, Alec dug deep, looked back on his grid, landed on this picture he first posted in December 2023 and said, “this is the one!” It features Alec, his wife, one of their 7 kids, two very hungry caterpillars, and stars the ubiquitous Madman Espresso single use coffee cup. ¡Feliz día de la madre, Híláríá!
Low effort personified.
Obsessed with the one and only comment this video garnered: “what’s the stethoscope for?”
Oh Daniel, where to begin?
\"To be honest\" is not a phrase typically associated with Grifty McGrifter.
  • The day a judge heard the motion to throw out Alec’s indictment was also Romeo's birthday so Hillary posted a story (#2 of 5 posts) of her, Alec, and the birthday boy as well as a grid video collage set to John Lennon’s “Beautiful Boy” (#3 of 5 posts) – a solid choice, nothing bad to say here. Alec, on the other hand, did not make a happy birthday post but found time to repost a “Crush the Can” fundraising campaign video from the Baldwin Fund. These videos are not good, if only they had connections to folks the filmmaking industry…
Bye, Wig!
  • A public service announcement for the Reddit Cares brigade: not posting about a kid’s birthday on IG or not liking a family member’s IG post is not usually an issue. I am well aware that countless people live offline and exchange private messages; however, we are gathered here today and most days to talk about Alec and “Hilaria” Baldwin. They use social media, and IG in particular to cultivate a brand/façade/public persona. Given that, liking/not liking or posting/not posting is of note. This concludes our announcement.
  • Listen, at this point in the game, I am HERE for Said the Pap. I am just going to lean into the theory that he’s an agent of chaos and a savvy social critic because this picture is a true gift to this sub. Live long and prosper, amigo.
Tiny. Baby. Sewer. Slippers. And is she holding a phone?? Call for help, sweet pea.
  • On the day of Holland's first birthday, StepAbuela Hilly posted a “candid” shot of her and her three oldest boys, skipping through NYC in a light rain (post #4 of 5). When I tell you I cranked up the Gypsy Kings, poured a sangria, and flamenco flurried my way over to the comments – and was delighted:
    • u/FamousOhioAppleHorn: When I see a woman dressed like that in FL, I know she's gonna buy 5 Hour Energy, cigs and scratch off tickets while telling everyone her entire life story.
    • u/NightOwlsUnite: Subway...in fucking slippers. She's a walking germ factory. If and when the next pandemic hits, thank her.
    • u/smallpepino: Typhoid Larry.
    • u/Sun_will_rise_again: Those slippers are going to walk themselves to the trash…. They’re DONE, they’ve been through enough 🚮 Also this looks like something Britney Spears would write…. Just a jumble of random shit.
    • u/ ca17miledrive: There she is again. The Dope of Greenwich Village.
    • u/MallorcanMalarkey: The rain in Spain falls mainly on the insane.
So many pockets, so little sense.
  • Since Hilly is being so shy about showing her face. It’s a good thing the trusty folks at the Daily Mail have no such qualms. Alec and Guest Baldwin attended the 25th anniversary of a pretentious restaurant that gleefully reposted a picture of the duo calling them “amazing stars.” Restaurant Sirs, you have been bamboozled.
Maybe she should have kept the sweatshirt from the other day on her head?
MichWho was also there- if only Hillary's mallet could tap some life into the frozen tundra of Mich's mask/face.
  • Also, is this iteration of Hillary’s face giving Danielle Staub and/or Countess LuAnn vibes, or no?
Does one just ask for the squinty and taut special?
\"PeePaw\" just about took me out.
  • The next day a New Mexico judicial district judge denied the motion to dismiss the involuntary manslaughter case. This means that Alec must stand trial in July; sometimes the judicial system works in the interest of fairness. If nothing else, it is gratifying to know that he is spending through the nose to mount this legal defense.
  • With her usual ham-fisted timing, Hilz got to work and posted a grid video of Alec showing his phone to Ilaria Sin Hache (props to u/Longjumping-Stage647 for the moniker). It’s cute – who doesn’t love a baby in a onesie trying to talk and toddling around? Hilz for damn sure knows the value of her “vending machine of joy” and captioned her video: “I want dada, I want dada”….shes talking more and more. This is her first sentence 🤍. They love watching puppies together. The sweet things we are grateful for…that laughter. It calms the heart ⛅️”
23,791 of Hillary’s 989K followers liked this video.
  • Hilz responded to some comments and then a few zingers found their mark:
    • Commenter 1: Daddy’s little girl 💕💜💕💜
    • Hillary: “def…I was a little jealous…all our other 6 said mama first, but this one said dada 😂. All kidding aside…it’s such a beautiful relationship. Gives him life and strength ❤️”
    • Commenter 2: Such a sweet little one. I miss your updates. Come back ❤️
    • Hillary: I will…I promise 💚
    • Commenter 3: This is a cute sitcom. Far from reality as many things on social media. But cute and happy, and that is what we want to see. Not the maids, fights, and tantrums
    • Commenter 4: Awe so cute! Grandparents are the best!!!
  • May 26th was the two-year anniversary of Carol Baldwin’s passing and Alec posted a picture of the two of them captioned (verbatim): “two years ago today Your work continuesWe all miss you”
Alec was more effusive in his RIP post about Sam Rubin, an LA entertainment reporter who passed, than about Carol.
  • I offer you Billy Baldwin’s caption for the picture of himself and his mother the same day:
    • My Mom: Honey... HOOOOONNEEEEYY!!!
    • Me: Yeah Mom!!!
    • My Mom: Do me a favor??
    • Me: Sure Mom.
    • My Mom: Go grab me the... the... the whatchamacallit?
    • Me: The what?
    • My Mom: You know... the thingamajig that has that little doohickey on the side. It's in the kitchen junk drawer next to the whooziwhats!!!
    • This never meant the same thing twice but every time she said it... I knew exactly what she wanted. Gone two years today. Smart, funny, tough, wacky, wild... and a heart of gold. Miss you dearest Mama!!! ♥️
  • Maybe Alec couldn’t focus on a more heartfelt tribute to his mother because was distracted by his wife’s unusual move of taking an Uber – quite normal for many but for Hillary My Ancestors Arrived on the Mayflower Hayward- Thomas, it’s usually a private car double parked for maximum chaos or sewer slippers slapping against the grime of NYC sidewalks, so this middle ground must have been confusing for PeePaw.
Your body is nice, Hillary. You don't need the alien appendages on the right or the multiple bras at once on the left.
  • Alec’s defense team added 9 new witnesses on the last day they were permitted to do so (5/6/24) and did not provide witness statements. Prosecutors argued that this was done in bad faith and that “the State has now been prejudiced by the defendant's strategy to gain a tactical advantage as the State is unable to file pretrial motions as it relates to the new witnesses, is unable to properly investigate the statements of the witnesses and list its own new witnesses to refute the testimony of the belatedly disclosed witnesses.” So on 5/31, the prosecutors moved to exclude the witnesses from the trial. Stay tuned…
  • As this legal mess was going down, Alec and Hillary made their signature move: a staged pap walk in NYC wearing ill-fitting clothes, clutching phones and Madman Espresso products. How the mightily mediocre have fallen…
The unfiltered images must be...something else.

2024.06.01 09:45 InspiredMonkey77 Imagining a Next-Gen City (Part 1 - Architecture, Urban Design, Education, Government)

What's up guys
I've traveled all over the US and have lived in quite a few cities, including Denver, Miami, and several mid-sized cities throughout Louisiana and East Tennessee.
I was always amazed by cities growing up. I love the architecture, the sense of community, the food, the energy, the feeling of being part of something bigger than myself.
But the more time I spend in cities, the more I feel like our cities and the communities they're home to are crumbling.
Corporate control and corrupt politicians have made life in the city highly unaffordable. Car-centric design has littered our communities with asphalt, unwalkable streets, and parking lots. New architecture - office buildings and residential alike - has been designed to maximize profits rather than for the enjoyment and use of the people.
It's upsetting to me that we've lost so much of what made American cities and life in the West so great in the past.
So, imagine if we had a chance to reinvent our cities and society as a whole. No politics, no BS, just a fresh start, with all of the technology we have today. What changes could we make to create a better life for ourselves and our next generations? Here's some of my ideas. I hope you enjoy.
Architecture, Construction, and Urban Design:
Let's build a digital model of our next-gen city, based around a state-of-the-art public transportation system, with a clear architectural style. Future residents can propose design changes online.
Within our neighborhoods, we'll have walking and bike paths, parks, trees for shade, lighting at night, local businesses and eateries on the ground level, filtered water stations and clean, nice restrooms set throughout. We'll rid our public spaces of advertisements, parking lots, and loud cars and replace it with art, eateries, local business, and effective public transportation.
We'll have local business on the ground level of our buildings, a set minimum of restaurant spots built in each neighborhood. Condos and apartments will be equipped with water filtration systems, better air filtration systems, humidity control, zone-specific HVAC control, better sound proofing, and temp-control mattresses in bedroom to improve sleep. The complexes will be designed harmoniously with their surrounding environment in mind - No more balconies overlooking a 4-lane highway. Complexes will have community-spaces (pool deck, garden, gym, community balconies), and larger complexes will have redundant spaces, each assigned to different floors / sections of the complex, so that residents see the same people more and are able to foster community more easily. (It's hard in big complexes - there's so many people)
We could manufacture many of our buildings in a modular fashion outside of the city, for final assembly within the city to minimize construction noise and time. Our current cities are constantly under construction, it's a drag. Construction tools could be redesigned to make less noise, and we can allocate more resources / labor to each project to complete faster. We'll utilize sustainable building materials like CLT where feasible. We can even design architecture to be disassembled and recycled at the end of its life. Disassembly, material sorting, and recycling will be much easier to accomplish down the line with AI. One of our best defenses against tyranny and outside forces is decentralization - Equipping each neighborhood with solar, and creating redundant water systems, online communication systems, etc will create a strong, resilient city.
A New Education System
Let's quit putting children in $100s of thousands in debt over education and create one, singular education system that equips both children and returning adults with all of the tools they need to succeed in society. We'll have a core curriculum and then a multitude of different areas that students can pursue based on their passion and current job market conditions. We'll utilize video teaching (like people are doing on YouTube now) and AI simulations to drastically increase retention and course quality. Again we'll teach the basics, like math, scientific method, geography, language and rhetoric, but we'll also teach essentials like how to cook, how to exercise and take care of your body, how to build relationships, how to open a business, how to operate our city's political system, the basics of modern society - basic housing construction, water systems, electricity, our public transportation network. And then once kids start to branch out into their niche, we'll offer courses on specific careers, like construction, urban design, culinary arts, music, engineering, etc. Real, practical, skills all for free in one system.
We'll tap employers / local businesses into our education system for the sole purpose of making job-market data available to students in real time. Businesses and employers will post their labor needs into the system, and students / parents can make educational path decisions based on real-time data. As students progress and expand their knowledge, their progress will be automatically compiled into an advanced and details student 'report card' which details their expertise, interests, and knowledge rather than pinning them up against other classmates in a GPA system. This will allow employers and parents a much better understanding into student's strengths, passions, and progress.
A (Much) Better Political System
There's a long list of issues with our current political system - only two parties, corporate control, federal overreach, money laundering, massive corruption and human rights violations around the globe. Let's scrap it entirely and create a reddit-like 'community forum' for our city where once every 2-4 years during a limited working-hours political holiday, we come together to discuss policy, issues within our community, new developments and plans, and how we would like to allot our tax money. We'll have a highly secure voting system and make decisions for our community within our community. We can still elect officials, as well as management and development companies for projects and managed systems. These contractors and companies can bid for the communities' business within the forum and we can vote there. Something else we could do is scrap IPO's and instead buy out systems that arise within our community like uber or airbnb and turn them into community assets the same as we've done with education, public transportation, etc. We'll elect / re-elect a management team and these services will become dirt cheap for everyone, instead of being bought out by investors and turned to shit to maximize profits.
Hope y'all enjoyed. Feel free to pick this apart, lol, or add your own ideas! I have a whole journal full of this stuff so if you guys liked it, I'll post some more soon.

2024.06.01 09:40 idris3396 Proxmox on Hetzner Dedicated - Need help with networking

So, I got a Hetzner dedicated server a few months ago and so far, I have been running my services on bare metal. Recently, I decided to try and install Proxmox on it to keep everything organized in their separate VMs and more importantly, make backups easier for me.
I learned how to install Proxmox last week and got everything up and running on my tiny home lab without many issues.
Now, the Hetzner server only comes with a single IP address, and the way Proxmox works (based on my understanding), it assigns a new IP address to each VM or LXC. This wasn't an issue when I was tinkering with it on my home lab locally however, I'm unable to replicate the network configuration on the Hetzner Server.
I followed this tutorial on YouTube to configure the network setup. So, following this tutorial should essentially give new local IP addresses (192.168.x.x) to my VMs and LXCs and it would then be routed through my Hetzner server's public IP address on 27.x.x.222 and make it accessible outside the Hetzner network.
Theoretically, if I were to create an Nginx Proxy Manager LXC, it would be provisioned a local IP address in the range of 192.168.x.x:81 but it should still be accessible at 27.x.x.222:81. However, I'm unable to access my VMs or LXCs outside the Hetzner network.
After that didn't work as intended, I followed this guide to see if I could get it to work. Same results.
I know I'm doing something wrong. However, I'm unsure what I'm doing wrong. I've learned self-hosting primarily from following this sub and a few YouTube channels and based on my short experience with self-hosting, I'm pretty out of depth here.
This is my network-interfaces configuration:
#LoopBacks auto lo iface lo inet loopback iface lo inet6 loopback #Physical Interfaces iface enp5s0 inet manual #Non-Proxmox Interfaces source /etc/network/interfaces.d/* #Proxmox Interfaces #Public Interface auto vmbr0 iface vmbr0 inet static address 27.x.x.222/26 gateway 27.x.x.x bridge-ports enp5s0 bridge-stp off bridge-fd 0 up sysctl -p auto vmbr2 iface vmbr2 inet static address 192.168.192.5/18 bridge-ports none bridge-stp off bridge-fd 0 post-up iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s '192.168.192.0/18' -o vmbr0 -j MASQUERADE post-down iptables -t nat -D POSTROUTING -s '192.168.192.0/18' -o vmbr0 -j MASQUERADE post-up iptables -t raw -I PREROUTING -i fwbr+ -j CT --zone 1 post-down iptables -t raw -D PREROUTING -i fwbr+ -j CT --zone 1
I would appreciate any help with this. Thank you so much.

🔗Uniden 800 MHz 300-Channel Base Mobile Scanner with Close Call RF Technology

https://preview.redd.it/obpptyc2fw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=912b3a072c3f12a3c2d5fa3a5a8d4aa57e8b72cf
Recently, I tried out the Uniden BC355C mobile scanner radio and was impressed by its wide-ranging capabilities. This scanner has a special design perfect for fixed locations such as offices or vehicles. One of the most useful features I found was the Close Call RF capture technology that helps you capture signals from transmitters in your vicinity. The scanner's preprogrammed service search functionally captures active frequencies that you can monitor. The backlit display makes reading the display an option in low light conditions, and its ability to monitor 300 channels all at once with a scanning speed of 100 channels per second is quite impressive.
The Uniden BC355C also covers a broad range of frequencies, particularly those used for police, ambulance, fire services, amateur radio, and weather announcements. It can scan frequencies at an astonishing speed of 100 channels per second. The scanner includes AC adapters for home use and a DC power cable for in-vehicle use, which is quite convenient. However, one drawback I noticed was the internal speaker's sound quality, which could be improved with an external speaker. Despite this minor flaw, overall, the performance and versatility of the Uniden BC355C Mobile Scanner Radio make it a great investment, especially considered its reasonable price.

🔗Radio Shack Pro-74 100 Channel VHF/UHF/Ai800 MHz Race Scanner - Advanced Features for Real-Life Police Situations

https://preview.redd.it/cmy6g5y2fw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e2937b7aed3a8d4addc5a11b24abe3242813ec78
I recently had the chance to test out the Radio Shack Pro-74, a fantastic option for a cool radio scanner. With its various features and impressive frequency coverage, it made for an enjoyable and informative experience. The weather search feature proved invaluable during race weekends, giving me instant updates on any channel change without needing to manually search. It also stores your 10 favorite channels, making it convenient for accessing frequently used frequencies.
One aspect that stood out was the unique opportunity to listen to local first responders in real-life situations, providing a deeper understanding of the risks they face in their line of duty. The Pro-74 covers various bands, including VHF-HI, UHF, air, and government channels, giving listeners broad access to multiple channels for their listening pleasure.
However, I did encounter a minor issue with connecting my RE-branded headsets, though fortunately, I was able to order a replacement scanner for a friend. This issue seemed to be specific to my headset brand and not a consistent problem with the scanner itself.
Overall, I was blown away by the quality and performance of the Radio Shack Pro-74. It provided clear audio, impressive features, and a wide range of channels for an incredible scanning experience. So if you're in the market for a cool radio scanner, look no further than this one.

🔗Pre-owned 200 Channel VHF/UHF Race Scanner with 800 MHz frequency

https://preview.redd.it/5cvjme53fw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=86f6644db6cd06fbd20dc6c60e9872ca73a9d852
As someone who loves listening to the chatter on the radio, I was excited to try out the pre-owned Radio Shack Pro-89 VHF/UHF/AIR 800MHz 200 Channel Handheld Race Scanner. With its 200 channels and VHF band, it promised to offer a wealth of information on the race.
The first thing that caught my attention was the scanner's robust build, despite its pre-owned condition. It might have a few scuffs and scratches, but it functioned flawlessly. I was impressed with how easy it was to navigate through the channels and find the one I wanted. And when I did, the volume was loud enough to hear without using an earpiece.
However, the volume knob did require a bit of a turn to get to a decent level, which can be a bit inconvenient at times. But overall, I'm really happy with my purchase. It's been a great companion, and the fact that I could set it up quickly made it even better.
So, although there's a minor drawback with the volume knob, I would highly recommend the Radio Shack Pro-89 VHF/UHF/AIR 800MHz 200 Channel Handheld Race Scanner to anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use race scanner.

🔗Uniden BCD536HP 800 MHz Scanner with Wi-Fi

https://preview.redd.it/6kxeubj3fw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ee155f22b397d7f5ca079dcd76a31bdbe5aa22c
The Uniden BCD536HP is a versatile scanner that's perfect for both home and mobile use. As someone who's been a scanner enthusiast for years, I can confidently say this device has exceeded my expectations. The trunking technology, which allows for easy set-up with your zip code, is a game-changer in the digital scanner world. It also comes with the entire USA and Canada radio database onboard, providing a seamless listening experience.
The Wifi feature really sets this scanner apart from others in its class. With the exclusive Uniden Siren app, I can access my scanner from anywhere in my home or vehicle, giving me unparalleled flexibility. However, with great power comes great responsibility, and the wifi feature might be a bit daunting for non-tech-savvy users.
One of the most impressive features is the large display. This clear, easy-to-read display provides quick access to all essential information. But, as someone who appreciates sleek designs, I would have liked a slightly more discreet display.
The SAME weather alert is another standout feature. It’s especially useful for those who live in areas prone to severe weather conditions. However, some users may find the weather alerts a bit too frequent or distracting.
Overall, the Uniden BCD536HP is an impressive piece of technology, providing an unmatched listening experience. It’s compact, easy to use, and offers a wealth of features that cater to both hobbyists and professionals alike. But, as with any high-tech device, there are certainly areas where it could improve, such as the slightly bulky design and potentially overwhelming wifi functionality. Despite these minor drawbacks, I wholeheartedly recommend the Uniden BCD536HP to anyone in the market for a digital scanner.

🔗Versatile 500-Channel Analog Handheld Scanner with Close Call RF Capture

https://preview.redd.it/warnxw04fw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=798bee6de2b982e15eab67883c987e53546fbedd
The Uniden Bearcat 500-Channel Handheld Scanner became my lifeline during my recent expedition to the Great Plains. Its compact design made it the perfect companion for my travels, fitting comfortably in my backpack without taking up too much space.
One of the standout features of the scanner was its ability to receive a wide range of frequencies. It allowed me to tune in to police and other agency transmissions, adding an exciting element to my journey. The LCD display was also a helpful feature, providing me with valuable information and making it easy to navigate through the various channels.
However, there were a few aspects that left room for improvement. The scanner's battery life could be better, and I found myself constantly having to charge it. Additionally, the earphone jack was a bit finicky, requiring me to fiddle with it to get a clear signal.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the Uniden Bearcat 500-Channel Handheld Scanner proved to be a reliable and versatile companion on my adventure. Its compact design, wide frequency range, and LCD display were key factors in making it a valuable addition to my travel gear.

🔗Advanced Multi-Band Radio Scanner for Emergency Services

https://preview.redd.it/vxwb73c4fw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c782fce84b74aca79f7d34ae81822e968e0005c8
Recently, I've been using the Whistler Ws1065 Digital Desktop Radio Scanner, and it's been quite an experience. I must admit, it took me a while to get the hang of programming the frequencies, but once I did, I was amazed at the variety of services it could receive. The V-scanner technology and digital AGC were particularly thoughtful features that made the scanning process more enjoyable.
The LED indicator was a nice touch, helping me track and monitor all the activity taking place. However, it did take some time to figure out how to use it effectively. One thing I noticed was that the scan list allowed me to arrange, group, and scan objects according to my preferences, which was very convenient.
The unit's size and shape fit perfectly on my desk, and the black color blended well with my setup. The 800 Mhz scanner is versatile and can be used in a variety of situations. I did find that the speaker was a bit too low and had to use a booster to make it loud enough. Overall, although it took some effort to get it up and running, I would definitely recommend this scanner to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient way to stay informed about various services.

🔗Uniden BC355N 800 MHz Scanner: Monitor with 300 Channels and Close Call Feature

Imagine walking into a cozy coffee shop, nestled in the bustling heart of the city, where the chatter of voices fills your ears and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee envelops your senses. Now, imagine being able to tune into these voices as a fly on the wall, hearing the police, firefighters, and even the chats of people on the other side of the counter. That's the magic of the Uniden BC355N 800 MHz 300-channel base mobile scanner.
This little device is a treasure trove of information, its 300 channels covering the action bands for police, ambulance, fire, amateur radio, and more. With the press of a button, it can instantly capture signals from nearby transmitters, and its RF capture technology ensures you never miss a beat. And hey, if you find your ears overwhelmed with too many frequencies, you can lock out the unwanted ones with search and temporary lockouts.
But, like any good scanner, the Uniden BC355N is not without its quirks. Its speakers aren't exactly audiophile-grade, and you might find yourself hankering for an external speaker to enhance the quality of the sound. Plus, some of its features, like programming, might require a bit of patience and the guidance of YouTube tutorials.
Nevertheless, despite these minor drawbacks, the Uniden BC355N 800 MHz 300-channel base mobile scanner is a reliable and budget-friendly tool for those looking to tune into the world of radio conversations.

Recently, I got my hands on the Uniden SDS200, a digital base/mobile scanner. As an avid scanner enthusiast, I was intrigued to see how it would perform. The build quality is remarkable, and the 3.5-inch screen makes it easy to read even the tiniest details. I was initially a bit concerned about the audio hum issues reported by some users, but after trying it with a Vertex Standard MLS-100 speaker, there was no humming whatsoever.
One thing that stood out is the scanner's True I/Q receiver technology, which provides exceptional digital decode performance. It's perfect for both receiving signals from challenging environments and for fine-tuning audio settings. The scanner's compatibility with USB connectivity is another plus, making it a breeze to transfer data.
However, there were a couple of minor drawbacks. Firstly, the ethernet jack is placed on the front, which might be an inconvenience for some users. Secondly, the variety of display color options made it a bit overwhelming, though not a deal-breaker. Programming the scanner seems a bit daunting, especially for beginners, as it requires computer knowledge to set it up optimally.
Overall, the Uniden SDS200 base/mobile scanner exceeded my expectations. Its superior performance, user-friendly features, and easy transfer of data make it a great investment for any scanner enthusiast.

The Uniden Handheld TrunkTracker V Scanner, or BCD325P2 for short, has been a faithful companion in my daily life, fulfilling all my scanning needs with its advanced digital technology. Staying connected and informed has never been easier thanks to the device's Close Call RF Capture Technology, which makes it simple to capture and monitor nearby signals.
One of the standout features of this scanner is its Priority Scan mode, which ensures that I never miss important channels, especially during emergency situations or when keeping up-to-date with the latest news. With an impressive 25,000 channels to choose from, the scanner offers extensive coverage and flexibility, letting me explore a wide range of frequencies without limitations.
The LCD display screen provides crystal-clear and easy-to-read information, allowing me to quickly access the data I need. Though the device is quite portable, weighing only 1 lb, it is powered by two AA batteries, making it even more convenient for on-the-go use. Its compact and lightweight design, combined with its impressive capabilities, makes it a perfect choice for anyone who wants to stay connected and informed.
However, there were a few areas where I felt the device could improve. For instance, the instructions provided in the manual, especially for new users, could have been more clearly written in simpler terms. Additionally, some users may find the programming process more complicated and challenging than expected. Despite these minor drawbacks, the BCD325P2 has proven to be a reliable and indispensable tool in my daily life, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to stay informed and connected.

As I was driving on a recent road trip, I remembered my trusty Uniden BearTracker 885 Hybrid CB Radio/Digital Scanner. This little device kept me informed of local public safety activity throughout the United States and Canada, thanks to its ability to scan police, fire, ambulance, and/or DOT radio traffic.
One thing that truly impressed me was its ergonomic noise-canceling microphone. It was perfect for those noisy trailer cabs, helping me communicate effectively despite the noise. The 7-color LCD display and meter made it easy to read channels, and the ability to manually set the zip code into the scanner, combined with the GPS location selection of available frequencies, was a game-changer for me.
However, there was one downside - I encountered static on all four scanner channels at the same time. It made it difficult to receive clear broadcasts. It would have been great to display the frequencies and ID of the emergency channels, especially in urban areas.
Overall, the Uniden BearTrack 885 Hybrid CB Radio/Digital Scanner was a reliable companion on my journey, keeping me informed and connected on the road. Its blend of CB radio and scanner features in one sleek package made it a great choice for other drivers as well.

🔗Stay Informed with Uniden HomePatrol-2 Scanner for Easy Access to Local Channels and Weather Alerts

https://preview.redd.it/tcm7uw27fw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09a584c214a2c90e1362e736995fd3a415a3d404
Ever wondered what it's like to have access to a wealth of information about your local police and fire departments, as well as the weather alerts? That's what the Uniden Homepatrol 2 Scanner offers. This handheld device lets you listen in on an amazing array of communications systems, from weather spotters to aircraft communications. It's compatible with APCO25 Phase II, which means you can easily connect to your zip code.
But here's the catch. It comes with a caveat. The included antenna isn't the best, so you might need to upgrade it. Once you do, you'll find you can scan a lot of signals in a short time, though it might be a bit slow to pick up some channels. And let's not forget about the batteries. They need to be charged properly and it can take a long time, which can be a bit inconvenient.
On the upside, this scanner is easy to program and offers a good range of applications, from general knowledge to journalism. However, some users have reported issues with the battery system and the quality of the included antenna. If you're keen on this type of device, you might want to look out for other models that have better battery life or antenna quality. After all, knowing what's happening in your area can be essential.

🔗Uniden Bear Tracker Scanner for GPS-Enabled Radio Scanning

https://preview.redd.it/382at9o7fw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30746df5256ffa0af95588d47d3c8f55746ee3d1
In my daily life, I found the Uniden Bear Tracker 9,000-Channel Mobile Analog Scanner to be a powerful and flexible tool for scanning radio systems. It definitely outshines my old radio in terms of features and functions.
One of the standout features of this scanner is its GPS-enabled scanning capabilities. This allows the scanner to automatically select nearby radio systems for scanning, making it incredibly convenient while I'm on the go. Another impressive aspect is its memory expansion, which enables it to hold up to 9,000 channels with up to 500 channels per trunked system. This means I can store a wide variety of frequencies and quickly switch between them.
However, the user manual could use some improvements. It's not very user-friendly, and Uniden should provide better documentation to help new users understand the scanner's capabilities.
Additionally, some users might find the complexity of the radio initially overwhelming. But once you familiarize yourself with the scanner, its vast array of features becomes more accessible.
The Bear Tracker also comes with a variety of accessories, such as an AC adapter, DC power adapter, power cord, and a 3-wire DC power cord. It's a significant investment, but the performance and features make it a worthwhile purchase for those who want an analog scanner with advanced capabilities and GPS support.

Buyer's Guide

Selecting the right 800 MHz scanner can be a daunting task with so many choices in the market. To help you make an informed decision, we have compiled a list of important features to consider.

Frequency Range

https://preview.redd.it/9gm44kg9fw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=63ab9604c28309f80fae1588c932b3e271a04531
The most crucial aspect to consider when purchasing an 800 MHz scanner is the frequency range. Ensure that the scanner operates within the 800-806 MHz frequency range, as this is the standard for these devices. A wider frequency range will allow users to access more channels and features.

Screen Size and Resolution

An 800 MHz scanner's screen plays a significant role in its overall performance. A larger and higher-resolution screen will provide better readability and make it easier to interpret data quickly. While some scanners offer touch-screen functionality, this feature is not crucial and should not be the primary determining factor when selecting a scanner.

Battery Life

A long-lasting battery is essential for scanners that need to be used on the go. Ensure that the scanner has a battery life of several hours, and consider purchasing a spare battery to extend your working time. Additionally, look for devices that offer a quick-charge feature to minimize downtime.

https://preview.redd.it/2ge0i1o9fw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=094754835b99815bb5dba593aa853323e9b12d66

Memory

Frequent data transfers require ample memory space on an 800 MHz scanner. Consider the available memory capacity of a scanner and ensure it can accommodate your needs. It's best to choose a scanner with expandable memory options, such as a microSD card slot.

Connectivity Options

Modern 800 MHz scanners come with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options to facilitate faster data exchange. Ensure the scanner you're considering offers these features, and confirm compatibility with your other devices and software.

Software Compatibility

https://preview.redd.it/xa2x1j2afw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=48c5581b141361e463d3ffaefaaba3b617bb2bc9
To avoid compatibility issues, make sure the scanner is compatible with your preferred barcode scanning software. Some scanners come with their proprietary software, while others can be third-party compatible.

Durability and Waterproofing

Scanners that operate in harsh environments often benefit from durability and waterproofing features. A rugged build will protect the device from drops, and a waterproof rating will keep it operational during light rain or spills.

Warranty and Support

A comprehensive warranty and reliable customer support can provide peace of mind when making a purchase. Look for devices that offer extended warranties and are backed by a reputable manufacturer with a strong customer support presence.
When purchasing an 800 MHz scanner, keep in mind the importance of researching, reading reviews, and considering your specific needs to ensure the best fit for your situation. Happy shopping!

FAQ

What is an 800 Mhz scanner?

An 800 MHz scanner is a type of police scanner that operates at the 800 MHz frequency. These scanners are designed to receive and decode encrypted communications used by law enforcement agencies, such as police departments, sheriff's offices, and other public safety organizations. They are popular among amateur radio enthusiasts and those interested in monitoring public safety communications.

How does an 800 Mhz scanner work?

800 MHz scanners use software-defined radio (SDR) technology to tune in and decode encrypted communications. They receive signals within the 800 MHz frequency range, decrypt them using a built-in database of encryption keys, and then display the decrypted communications on the scanner's screen or through speakers. Some scanners also offer additional features, such as GPS tracking and integration with third-party apps.

What is the difference between an 800 Mhz scanner and a traditional scanner?

The primary difference between an 800 MHz scanner and a traditional scanner is the frequency they operate on. 2024.06.01 05:03 carki001 Reddit is not working in Firefox

I'm posting this from Brave, seems like a nice browser.
Anyway, it's impossible to access reddit.com from firefox (ver 126.0.1) . I tried the usual things, clear cookies, history, disabling extensions, private window, etc. I even installed the developer version of firefox, try to access fresh, with the default and clean setup, but nothing worked. The message shows up after a minute or so:

Unable to connect

An error occurred during a connection to www.reddit.com.
This started to happen today.
Reddit works fine in chrome and edge, both fully updated. Funny though, it doesn't work in Opera (Opera One version: 110.0.5130.49 ). Even funnier, reddit works well in android firefox with ublock origin enabled
I wonder, has reddit blocked firefox due to manifest 3 or some corporate plan? I'm very confused.

2024.06.01 04:58 Motor_Feed9945 Musing on Titanic (1997)

About a month ago I watched the 1997 version of Titanic for the first time in at least twenty years. It really is a wonderful melodrama and looking back I am a bit upset with myself for not going back to the theatres to see it during any of its re-releases. I vow if there is ever another non-3D re-release into theatres, I will find a date somehow someway, even if I have to drag some poor woman to see it with me.
Anyways last night on YouTube I stumbled upon 1999 Saturday Night Live sketch with Cheri Oteri playing the elderly Rose. You know the one where she admits she made it all up to fly on a helicopter and they all beat her up. You know the one with the real Bill Paxton and James Cameron.
I actually remember watching that sketch air live one Saturday night. I would have been twelve. The funny thing is I had actually come to believe that sketch never actually existed. That it was just some weird fever dream of mine. It had been twenty-five years since I had seen it. I think part of my confusion was obviously I was a far less sophisticated twelve-year-old. And there was at least some verisimilitude to everything that I think I half thought it was the real alternate ending. The idea of the sketch stayed in the back of my mind, but I basically stopped believing was ever actually real.
I actually have a theory as to why James Cameron may have been willing to participate in the sketch beyond just having a bit of fun. I will get there. I also have a few other thoughts on the movie. I hope they are at least semi-original.
My first point is totally not original but still it needs to be said. The Heart-of-the-Ocean diamond is a total MacGuffin and means absolutely nothing. It is an interesting thought experiment to try to envision the Titanic movie with just the 1912 scenes. Of course, you still have the Jack and Rose story and all the historical characters, but the movie begins with the boarding of the Titanic and ends with Rose seeing the Statue of Liberty entering New York on the Carpathia. The movie still probably works, but I also see why they chose to have the 'modern day' scenes as well.
I think we all know James Cameron's initial interest in making the movie was getting to do deep water dives down to the Titanic, an interest of his that would long outlast the production of the original movie. I also think the discovery of the Titanic, a little over ten years earlier, was still fresh enough in everyone's mind that perhaps they felt they needed to include that aspect of the story.
Having an elderly Rose tell the story also allows for a good deal of exposition that would have been super clumsy to include in any other way. Now whether the story and drama would lose any of its poignancy without having a hundred-year-old woman looking back on her life, and the great tragedy of her life is something we can only guess at.

2024.06.01 04:27 Few-Implement-8983 The scammers are able to emulate Macbook M1/M2/M3 devices and steal access via lock to icloud just with the video of your laptop ,they are using your serial number and do a copy of the signal - Apple Relock Exploit - Never Show Your Serial NUMBER to the Customers or you can LOST ACCES t your MACBOOK

Hi , my name is Anton and i became a victim of the scammers
I thought that Apple devises are good protected and in now days there is now way to get access to your devices as only you will open the door yourself
But it is not so , scammers invented a new way for it
Never Show Your Serial NUMBER to the Customers Until you get money for your devices ,
There is a security problem at IDENTIFICATION of Apple devices and SCAMMERS are not sleeping
IF they get your serial number and it will not be protected with your APPLE ID with FMI FMD until the payment so you can Lost access to your device unfortunately same as i and became a victim of the scammers
Please Listen to my story
The scammers are able to emulate Macbook M1/M2/M3 devices and steal access via lock to icloud
I am a simple mac seller , I buy broken laptops from people and repair them to sell
so one day one my customer asked to show him video of 4 my laptops
after he got only video all became iCloud LOCK

Summary - my APPLE case numbers are 102302104385 + Case Number: 102309395011

YES , my story is simple
the customer asked me about video of the Macbook , because as he told me , he was need a confirmation about how are laptops are looks like - scratches or dents and confirmation that they are turning on and good working
I really did not saw any suspicious action at that moment , customer just wanted me to show him the laptop look like online - as I thought
So I did it - just send him video - and that is all - about Laptop
Then he asked to send video about 3 more MacBooks
After it he asked me to push Use Erase All Content and Settings to check that they are completely with any id inside
So i was sure that there will be no problem - because i just replaced the motherboard two weeks ago at the official genius bar (ORIGINAL APPLE SERVICE) (i do have 2 G repair numbers) - so what can be wrong -
i reinstalled my MAC OS via DFU mode with the Restore.ipsw couple of days ago - it was all ok and i activate MacBooks and set up a default USER with easy password AND THERE WAS NO APPLE ID
so when i did it - the Macbook asked if the apple server let him activation and it was DECLINED
Somehow person who get the video about my laptop did a copy of a signal that apple laptop send to apple ID activation server and connected it to his apple id and after it he enabled FMI FMD
But i have video confirmation in my cases that all laptops are without any Apple Id and have new and fresh mac os
so after it i was not able to pass the activation because i was scammed and unknown person connected 4 my laptops to unknown account , so after that i was not able to pass the activation
so in fact they are all bricked now
he asked me to pay 1000 $
i told apple about it and they answer me that it is just my fairy tail and it is not possible
i told them that there is a hole in security and identification of apple devices during enabling FMI FMD but as i see the do not care - i think it must about 100 same cases or 1000 - maybe after it they will take care about it
so now i wonder if there any more victims who have the same problem ?
check here at youtube ServisTT
Also i and apple support did full apple diagnostic about all devices - i want apple to compare mac addresses and other mac information with the signal that was emulated with the scammer to prove my words - because the scammer was at different location and his emulation device was different between my original one - but after it they just stop answering my email - like i was banned
they just want to stay away from the Truth
When i talked to apple support - i told them that i have laptops in my hands + i have original boxes + i have video confirmation that laptops were without any apple id + have documents from the apple genius bar + have video of the conversation with the scammer - but all this is nothing for them

Steps to reproduce

  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58AgEcZvrYg&t=98s or check here at youtube ServisTT

Expected results

i want apple to compare mac addresses and other mac information with the signal that was emulated with the scammer to prove my words - because the scammer was at different location and his emulation device was different between my original one
also i find out that maybe scammer used Hardware UUID - so why not to mask it or hide or make enable to see only with the password ?

Actual results

NO ONE TRUST ME AND NO ONE WANT TO HELP ME - I think they even do not have any permission to help me now because they are restricted after they listen to my story
i am already thinking that i was banned with my support managers - because they just do not answer my letters now and do not answer my voice messages , where i praying for help
How do you think is OK ?
IF you are going to be connected to apple stuff - get ready for this !

security apple bounty
i can tell only one - If apple confirm about this hole - JUST imagine how many victims will ask for the judgment court to return their money for their devices,
so that is why i was refused
----------
i did not open any links from my laptop or sms - it was not possible because there was a fresh and clean Mac OS
There is no MDM at devices
They all are as ICLOUD LOST devices now
If i will do Restore.ipsw via DFU - not working
PLEASE I NEED HELP !
