What event was your favorite in this list?

I need help in changing some character names. This is part of my normal process to use names that interest me and keep me going but because the of the type of book this one is, the names aren't just magically changing like they have in the past.
I'm a very high-end Namenerd, and have hundreds of pages of names listed and sorted into many many different genres. This block of mine isn't for lack of choices and personal thoughts.
I've used several different, usually reliable, sites and generators to help me find similar names but I'm just not getting there. I have already changed some of these but it made sense to me to give everyone the whole character list to see how well I did and to hopefully get those needed second name for some of characters.
For every character below I need to change these names to something else.
In some cases I'll need two different names for the same character, not first/middle, but different. They appear in the story twice but in slightly different ways that need different names.

Here is context for my story:
I work an office job as a Project Manager
I have "unlimited time off," but it's really capped at like 33 days.
I work in a team of 11 including me, with 1 other person who does what I do. The other 9 are split 6 and 3.
We are all under our manager, I'll call him John. My coworker's name is Amanda.
Here's what has been happening:
For requesting time off, we submit the days we want in Workday. Manager reviews them. If they're approved, we put them in a big spreadsheet calendar so our teammates know when we are off.
Another rule to time off is that you cannot be out when your backup is. So if Amanda takes off for a week, I can't be off that week. It's annoying, but I understand the logic behind it.
The winter holidays are a popular time to take off. A while back I put in to have the Wednesday and Friday around Thanksgiving off and the days around Christmas off.
I did this in reverse order (not putting it into Workday first) since I wasn't aware of the exact order until the issue I am having now actually began.
Amanda also had time off put in. She put in for the Wed and Friday of Thanksgiving week and then also the entire Christmas week as well. I didn't think the overlap would be an issue since it's the holidays and things are usually slow at that time. Plus, my manager let me have odd last year while Amanda was off as well. So he didn't have a problem with it then...
Well, now he does. This week I submitted the Thanksgiving request and he was like, sorry, Amanda is off. We need coverage. I said, I didn't think a few days would be a huge deal. We did this last year. He wouldn't budge. For more context, we are stupidly a M-Thur in office company. I would just be miserable being in the office on Xmas or Thanksgiving Eve (not clear if we will be allowed to leave early). Keep in mind, we are NOT critical employees. Any work we miss can... Just be done the next day. Our work requires collaboration with key stakeholders, and that won't happen when half the company is off. And whenever Amanda has been off, no one has needed me to help cover for her.
I was like fine, I'll just take off the Monday and Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Well, Amanda took that entire week off as well. So I'm not allowed to take ANY of the good holiday days off because she's hogging them. My boss made me feel like a lazy POS for submitting this in MAY and not sooner.
He's also off Christmas week and Thanksgiving Wed and Friday, so this won't affect him.
If this is how he wants to do things, then I'm literally going to request off January 1st right after midnight for 2025 holidays.
Should I go to HR on this? I feel like they won't do anything, but I just can't believe someone can be so heartless and not face any consequences. This feels like textbook Christmas villain.

Ok so I am 90% sure I want our wedding dinner reception at this gorgeous restaurant a few towns away. We’ve called and toured a ton of places and this place is gorgeous.
When I reached out to their wedding coordinator Leslie for details, she has been extremely flaky and inconsistent in responding to us and giving us wrong prices. ($80,000 for 40 people for 3 hours?! It was a typo she said but stuff like that kept happening.)
Leslie also had a ton of bad reviews online, about 8 last month, yet they will charge us $1300 to use her.
Out of frustration, I decided to use my fiance’s email and booked a consultation for a “romantic anniversary dinner party” with their event coordinator John.
John was immediately responsive and gave us a link where we could add different meals and drinks and services to a cart to get a rough estimate and stayed on the phone with me to make sure I was understanding it.
That’s when I noticed an enormous difference in their pricing. For the same exact room, guest count, and month, they were charging $600 for the room if I said it was a romantic anniversary dinner and $2,000 min. For food and beverage.
(It was $4,000 for everything total.)
If I said it was a wedding, it was going to be $3,000 for the room and $7,000 for food and drink (40 people, same date and room).
(It’s going to be $13,000 if we say it’s a wedding for the same services.)
Again, we are not having an actual wedding here. We’re getting married at the courthouse a few days prior & just need a nice place to have an intimate dinner reception.
I asked John what if my “sister” wanted to have her wedding reception here. Could she do it with you? John goes “Oh no, she needs to contact Leslie, everything is wedding related goes through her.”
So my fiance and I decided maybe we should just use the restaurant as a wedding dinner reception and just not tell them. We just need the food and drinks and it’s only 30-40 guests.
We are not doing dancing, videos, cake cutting, nothing. It’s just dinner and a few toasts for 3 hours and 35 people.
But I’m kind of terrified they will kick us out or shame us if they discover it’s kind of a little wedding celebration.
We had money set aside for a big backyard wedding with vendors and dancing that I was excited for but I was just diagnosed with bone marrow disease this week and I want to find an easy restaurant before I start getting really sick.
So now we just want a simple courthouse ceremony (because I need to be in his health insurance stat) and a good dinner.
What do you guys think? Is it the worst idea ever? Again, I’m not doing a ceremony or dancing or cake cutting. Very simple as I can’t stand long.
EDIT: after seeing a few comments here, I think I’m gonna aim to be honest. I’ll tell John we’re getting married that week and the dinner is literally just supposed to be an intimate celebration of that and we’re not requiring anything else except food and to be allowed to do our toasts and have our photographer as the event allowed.
And to see what he says and whether he can work with us. Because of my health issues and need to be on my partners health insurance asap, we’re probably going through the court in the next few weeks anyway so it might just turn into a dinner reception months after an actual wedding.

“Can you hear that? It sounds like the Strawberry Fête has been set up in the usual spot by the central lake. I imagine they’ll be there for a few days so you should all visit when you can. The sooner the better, however. Keep an eye on the cloche.” - Mabel
The start of summer is a strange time in Raifee Wood. Just as the dour and deadly creatures of the colder months retreat (or at least settle down a little), the more mischievous beings of the warmer months begin to rear their heads. The Strawberry Fête is one such group, making two visits each year: Once near the end of May and another at the end of July. While the exact day of their arrival is never consistent, you’ll know when they’re here- the raucous music can be heard throughout the forest. They’ll linger in the woods for a few days before vanishing, so if you choose to visit, it is best to go as soon as possible.
For once, you have a choice of whether you wish to expose yourself to the potential dangers of the fête. It is entirely self-sufficient so Mabel does not have any tasks for us to do for them. The only reason to go is to trade: While the opportunity is valuable, you must evaluate the risk yourself.
Before visiting the Strawberry Fête, consider what you are willing to trade. For some of the more unusual items, you will need specific things, but also consider bringing the following to trade for standard goods:

• Milk: If you can find one of the goats who occasionally hang around the cottage, it is worth trying to milk them. You'll have to get the animal's permission for this by offering a flower or vegetable and waiting until they approach you. They all belong to Mabel, and if she feels you have mistreated them, you’ll have much more to worry about than a lack of trading items.
• Honey: Universally craved by the vendors, if you have been fortunate enough to have been gifted a jar of honey from Mabel, you can trade spoonfuls of it for many things.
• Blood: Small vials of coagulated human blood are a popular trade item, but the vendors favour fresh samples. Bring a clean dagger and some bandages.
• Teeth: Animal, inhabitant or your own. They are all valuable so if you find one, pocket it for the market.

In addition to your trade items, find the red basket in the supply closet and grab one of the cords inside it. If there aren’t any left, wait until someone returns- you must not enter the Fête without one.

1. The Strawberry Fête takes place next to the central lake of Raifee Wood. The fête is quite noisy, but you will not be able to see it. Locate the petrified stump on the lake’s border. Next to it, you should see a small circle of rocks- this is the location of the Strawberry Fête. Do not touch the circle or step into it until you are ready.
2. There is a branch on the petrified stump which you should knot the cord tightly to. Tie the other end around your wrist. We are not 100% certain what the cords are, but after examining one, Natalia compared it to an umbilical cord specimen she saw during her nursing course. We’ve decided that we shouldn’t ask Mabel about them- we'd rather not know. Whatever they are, they're a crucial tether to the mortal world and without being tied to one, you won’t be able to leave the Strawberry Fête.
3. When you’re ready, jump into the circle. Ensure you don’t fall over and that both of your legs enter the circle at once. If you try to step into it or stumble and land only partially in the circle, part of your body will be ripped into the Fête while the rest remains in the Wood. I’ve only seen it once before and it’s… gruesome.
4. When you enter the Fête, you will see a bustling market filled with vendor stalls, a bandstand and a maypole. Everything will be contained within a ring of tall standing stones, much larger than the ones you saw in the wood. Do not stray beyond these stones at any point during your visit. The mist outside has the same quality as the mist surrounding Raifee Wood- it is incredibly corrosive.
5. The vendors and customers at the Strawberry Fête are the typical sprites you will see flitting around Raifee Wood, although much larger than you will be accustomed to. Usually no taller than a pencil, the ones in the Fête are just a foot or two shorter than the average human. Unfortunately, this makes their unusual features more notable too. Big, expressive eyes look fine when the sprites are small, but up close the way their pupils bulge and dilate is unsettling. The twitchiness of their dragonfly wings and sharp teeth can be unnerving too. Refrain from commenting on these things. Sprites are easily offended and will either refuse to trade with you or make your visit actively difficult if they feel slighted.
6. While you are walking around the Fête, you will notice that your cord stretches upwards, disappearing from sight. Nobody should mention or bother you about it but do not remove it at any point. A few sprites may try to convince you to untie it: To help you try something on, or for them to hold onto while you dance. Firmly reject these suggestions, even if they seem upset- they know full well what they’re doing. Thankfully, due to our status as rangers, the sprites won’t try to forcefully cut or untie your cord, save for in a specific place. More on that later…
7. When you arrive, look for a cloche, in the middle of the Fête. Inside, you will see a cluster of strawberries with human faces. Note the appearance of the fruit. As the Fête continues, the berries will degrade, shrivelling as the faces twist into pained expressions. Check on the cloche every 20 minutes or so. It is very easy to lose track of time in the fête, and you do not want to be around when the strawberries are completely rotten.
8. There are normally several stalls selling food throughout the market. Do not buy or eat anything. While perfectly fine for the sprites, the majority of sprite delicacies cause nasty side-effects for humans or contain ingredients that you don’t want to consume. The pasty vendor is especially pushy, so avoid him. He has a sadistic interest in getting rangers to try his goods claiming that they’re ‘a taste from home’. Fortunately, nobody has tried any of them yet- sprite wordplay is painfully blatant.
9. Aside from food, many of the stalls will be peddling unusual but useful supplies which can be traded for using the general items listed at the top of the entry. Fertilisers for keeping the cottage’s St John’s Wort healthy, winter furs that pulse warmly as if still alive and plenty of toys and trinkets for entertainment and decoration at the cottage. The important thing is not to accept anything for free, even if the vendor claims that it's a gift. Sprites never give anything away for free and will be keen for you to accept the offer since it gives them the liberty to choose their payment. For example, a former ranger named Clover once accepted a complimentary winter hat from a vendor and lost her scalp. We were able to patch her up, but she didn’t last long after that.
10. The stall decorated with spider webs sells a lot of useful fabrics. It is worth a visit- the spools of web thread are incredibly durable and can be used to fix garments, while the circles of dried caul membrane can adhere to small injuries and scars to heal them. Avoid red lace, however. The delicate material is composed of veins, and can instantly adhere to your skin like the caul membranes do, even if you so much as brush past it. However, rather than smoothing over or healing wounds and scars, the lace creates sensitive sore spots that throb uncomfortably.
11. The elderly sprite running the blue tent sells dreams in bottles. For obvious reasons, our line of work can make sleeping difficult so having a guaranteed peaceful rest is very useful. However, the dream vendor will only accept one trade- a dream bottle for a happy memory. You won’t get to choose what memory he takes so this is a bit of a gamble- it could just be a field trip you went on at school but it might also be your mother’s face. The only off-limit thing seems to be our true and false names. If you decide to trade a memory, the sprite will extract it with a long thin hook inserted into your nose. While safe (provided you stay still) I will caution that the sensation of having a memory pulled out is uncomfortable- a bit like a fingernail hooking under a crease in your brain and unpicking it. Thankfully, the procedure has no physical ill effect. Once you’ve paid, take care when selecting your bottle. Each will contain a multi-hued mist and these colours are important. The majority are safe, and will contain peaceful dreams that can be used up to five times- open the bottle and inhale some of the mist before recorking it. However, avoid any bottles with blue or yellow hues. The seller only sells good dreams, but a good dream for a sprite can differ greatly from a good dream for a human. I don’t know about you, but dreaming about eating a newborn child or tormenting an old woman by sticking pins under her fingernails hardly sounds appealing to me.
12. Avoid the red marquee. While most of the humans being traded in there are very young, the sellers in the tent may try to forcefully cut your cord and sell you off too. The atmosphere in the marquee is very intense and we think that is what emboldens the sprites who hang around in it. The thick material of the tent should muffle most of the noise and smell, but it is best to keep away from it altogether. Trying to disrupt the marquee’s proceedings will likely shatter the social contract which allows us to enter the fête in the first place. Besides, if in theory you did manage to save someone, they couldn’t leave with you- the cords can only lift one person at a time. Better to be bartered, butchered and consumed in one’s sleep than be woken up and forced to choose between an angry mob or the melting mist.
13. If you require companionship, visit the brightly painted caravan near the bandstand. It sells some useful monsters called umbramites. These small creatures appear as nothing more than a shadow on the nearest surface, unable to interact with anything in the physical realm. However, they are excellent at alerting to unseen dangers, can be sent off to locate missing objects and according to those who do choose to own them, can provide much-needed companionship. Ask Arata or Bea for more information if you are interested. However, life requires an equivalent sacrifice. Alongside a large initial trade of standard goods (the vendor has an affinity for teeth if you have any), the time that your umbramite lasts is determined by how much of your lifespan you’re willing to give up. It can be a few weeks or a few decades. You won’t age physically when the time is taken, but you will feel a distinct sense of heartburn as your lifespan reduces. The trainer who runs the stand will stitch your shadow to the umbramite using a black thread- it dissolves after a few days so you can both move independently. The umbramite will stay loyal to you and last until its allotted lifespan runs out. While lifespan feels like a steep price, it is worth remembering that virtually no rangers ever reach old age- you may as well put those years to use, right?
14. The twin sisters who own the silver stall offer extractions of all kinds. If you have a rotten tooth, or a stubborn splinter from the Steward, they’ll remove it for a small fee. For a bigger fee, they can also remove more evasive troubles- traumatic memories, heartache and regrets. For this, they have a jar filled with silver leeches. Once attached to the temple, they will extract the unpleasant memory of your choosing with only moderate discomfort. Just be careful not to let them remove any important information about the inhabitants- if you ask them to remove a memory associated with one, re-read their guide entry carefully afterwards.
15. If you are invited to take part in the maypole ceremony, decline. The young female sprites who usually participate are viciously competitive. If you mess up the pattern they are weaving or look as if you’re showing off they will attack you violently, ranger or not. They’re not above inflicting this treatment on other sprites either- the maypole dance typically ends with at least one casualty.
16. It is safe to dance within the crowd of revellers at the bandstand, but only on your own or with another ranger. If you dance with one of the sprites, they will become attached to you and follow you around the market obsessively. Furthermore, when it is time to leave, they will cling to you and the extra weight risks breaking your cord. If you do notice another ranger in this predicament, do your best to restrain the sprite so the ranger can leave quickly. Ignore the whining and sobbing, sprites are fickle and they would quickly lose interest in you even if you stayed with them in the market. Once discarded, the merchants of the red marquee would likely pick you off.
17. As mentioned previously, you must be careful to monitor your time in the market closely. Time passes at an uneven pace: An hour can feel as short as ten minutes or as long as a day. To be safe, you should leave when the larger strawberries begin to cave in and darken, if not before. From what Mabel has told us, once the strawberries have fully decayed the market shifts location, severing your cord and leaving you at the mercy of the merchants.
18. To leave the market, make sure that everything you have with you is securely packed away in your buttoned pockets or rucksack. Loop both of your hands into the cord securely and pull yourself up. When you are around a meter or two off the ground, the cord will retract sharply, pulling you up and out of the Strawberry Fête. The force will normally fling you clean from the circle, so be prepared for a rough landing.
19. Once resurfaced, untie the cord and check your inventory thoroughly, including all the linings and pockets of your clothes. On occasion, one of the sprites will sneak an extra unpaid good into your pockets before you leave. If you are concerned that you might not be able to keep track of your inventory, bring a list, including everything you brought in and purchased. If you do find something, throw it into the circle before you leave. If kept, the sprite will find you on your next visit and as mentioned before, take whatever payment they feel entitled to. It won’t be a fair trade.

Chapter 20: Strangers and Walkers
3 months later:
Kenny was fishing on the river with John standing next to him, John had a satchel on the ground.
John had something to say. “You know it's nearly been a year since we came here?”
“Yeah, December now isn't it? Not hot anymore, now it's perfect here while up north it's cold winter.” Kenny replied.
“Yep, I'm keeping track. Guess being down here's paying off once more.” John said.
“Definitely, imagine being up in Ohio again, we'd be asking for a campfire inside a house instead of fishing here.” Kenny replied.
“You’re right about that though I didn't mind it too much before but I guess living inside does that. Kept the house warm when I could.” John explained.
Kenny wore blue shorts and his white shirt as the weather was pretty mild, not hot or cold. John wore black pants and had a red shirt.
Kenny felt something. “Might have a bite here, hopefully it's a decent one for us.”
Kenny eventually caught a fish. “That's a decent one, I'll take this fish back to the house.”
John agreed. “Yeah, that'll do us nicely. Let's go.”
He put the fish in a bucket they had and they walked back to the house.
Kenny put the bucket in the kitchen, he knew John would deal with it there. He wanted to go back outside on watch. “I'll just go out on watch.”
“Alright, keep an eye out for Jack, he's outside being a guard dog since that gives him something to do.” John asked.
Kenny watched for some time, eventually he did hear barking though, barking that's probably from Jack. He went inside to let John know
“Hey John, Jack's barking at something outside, we should check it out.” Kenny told him.
“Alright, I'll get my gun. You go out there and make sure things are okay, he doesn't bark at thin air usually.”
Kenny with his rifle ran over to where Jack was, It was out towards the fence out the front where there was a herd of walkers with some trying to get through the fence.
“Shit, walkers.” Kenny commented.
John soon came over with his pistol and was wearing a satchel. “Walkers? We need to deal with them because I don't like the idea of them breaking down our fence trying to get over it.”
“No shit. I don't want to die in a herd but we need to kill these things, gotta shoot them.” Kenny replied.
“Agreed. I let Christa know we were out so if she thinks we need help, we'll get it.” John said.
John then whistled to Jack. “Stay back!”
Kenny and John then started shooting the walkers, first on the fence but then the others too. This did attract more of them to get through but they were shooting enough. However they did need to reload and while they were, a walker managed to break part of the fence and push the rest down, getting through. Jack However ran to the walker and bit it's head while It was still crawling and then came back.
“Good boy. Alright Kenny, let’s get the last of them.” John said.
The two shot the last few remaining one by one.
Christa came over, she wanted to make sure they were okay. “You guys okay? I heard a lot of shooting.”
“We’re just fine, can’t say the same about the dead over there though.” Kenny said as he looked at all of the dead walkers.
“So you made a bunch of noise by shooting them all?” Christa questioned.
John piped in. “Yeah, as you can see there were a lot and they were at our fence breaking it down. Was not safe to take them quietly.”
“That’s fair, but this is why we need bows or something ranged that is quiet though.” Christa suggested.
Kenny wanted to make sure no walkers were going to come after being attracted by the noise. “We should keep an eye out for any walkers around who heard our guns, kill them quietly to make sure it is safe.”
John agreed. “I’ll see if Jack can pick up the scent of any walkers.”
“Alright, I’ll come with you as we should find them that way. Christa, you stay here for any, or fix things up if you want to.” Kenny replied.
“Sure, a lot of walker bodies to clear out anyway.” Christa said.
John took a leash out from his satchel and put it on Jack. “Let’s go, Jack should be able to pick up any walkers around, by what I’ve seen with Jack, they smell even more to dogs than us.”
They went right which was away from the side of the river and walked along the road. They could see the side opposite of their house didn't have too many trees and they could see it was rather clear however their side was kinda like the woods, plenty of trees for walkers and unwanted guests to hide within though that also included the Flordian bushes and plants. Jack then barked, a walker came through the woods onto the road and Kenny went over and stabbed it dead with his knife.
“We should look for walkers in the woods.” Kenny told John.
“I agree, it seems like they're coming from there. Can't see any on the other side.” John said.
They walked a little more and found a trail that started from the road into the woods. They had been there before so they knew where it went.
“Let's go along the path for a bit, then after we'll head back.” Kenny suggested.
“Alright, let’s go there.” John replied
They walked for a few minutes and found a walker ahead.
“I’ll get it.” Kenny said.
Kenny then walked up to the walker and stabbed it in the head before it could do anything to him.
“Nice.” John commented
They walked a bit more and found a path to the right, Jack seemed like he wanted to go that way.
“Jack wants to go the path up there. We should go that way for a bit then we'll head back. John said.
They walked on the path and found a campsite. It was familiar though as they had been there before but this time was different.
“I think someone has been here, it wasn’t like this last time we were here. We should take a look around.” Kenny said.
“Yeah, looks recently used. Keep an eye out for walkers too.” John replied.
Kenny took a look at the campfire, It had a pot of boiled water over it.
“Hey, someone's been boiling some water here so they must have been here today.” Kenny said.
“Alright, let's not stick around here for too long then. I found a box of food and some ammunition so someone's definitely here. No gun though, they're definitely out there somewhere.”
Jack barked, they didn't know if it was walker or human but they were ready.
A walker walked into the camp and Jack went into action to tackle It down and kill it.
“Good boy.” John said. Jack came back and got a pat.
“You think that was our person living here?” John asked.
“No, they'd be fresh. This walker is nearly as rotten as the first ones.” Kenny replied.
“Yeah, you're right. We should go unless you've found anything new.” John suggested.
Kenny looked at an empty water bottle. “Not unless you need empty water bottles.”
“No, my metal one is doing fine. Let's get out of here then.” John replied.
The two walked out of the camp along the path, they kept an eye out for walkers. They had nearly made it back to the road.
“Been no walkers so far, I think we're clear here.” Kenny commented.
“Yeah, good. Wonder if Christa had to deal with any.” John asked.
“Probably, walkers seem to love noise. Dumb things think anything making noise could be their next meal.” Kenny answered.
“Unless it's a walker of course but yeah.” John replied.
“Guess they’re not that dumb to eat each other.” Kenny said to him.
They kept walking and Jack seemed to get more careful.
“What is it? Jack must know something's around.” John said.
Then they saw someone come out from the trees holding a dead rabbit. It was an African American woman but not Christa.
“That's not Christa…” John said.
“No, I'm not. Who the hell are you people? Best not be any kidnappers.” The 160cm (5’3) tall woman of an average build asked. She also wore a white I love New York shirt along with grey cargo pants.
“Excuse me? Do we look like kidnappers to you?” Kenny said back.
“No, sorry. I just had to escape from some people yesterday, fuckers nearly got me. I can see you guys got the advantage over me anyway…” She then looked at Jack who looked ready to defend Kenny and John if she tried anything.
John introduced themselves. “Okay, let’s be calm. I’m John and here’s Kenny. Dog is Jack, just be friendly and he won’t hurt you. We aren’t kidnappers of anyone, that’s concerning news actually.”
Kenny was definitely concerned. “Yeah… we had a guy a few months ago who lost his girlfriend and it seems like she was taken. We can’t have kidnappers in the woods, that’s dangerous.”
The woman seemed to be calmer. “Okay, you guys seem like decent people then. I’m Tracy. What are you guys doing this way anyway?” She asked.
“We were here looking out for walkers. We had to use our guns earlier to kill a group of them.” Kenny explained.
“So that explains the gunfire I heard off in the distance. You guys gotta be living somewhere then right?” Tracy asked.
“Yeah, we do and we don’t want any unwanted guests ruining it. But what are you saying?” Kenny said.
“I’ve been on my own for a long time but I’m too worried about the assholes I had to deal with earlier. Can I come with you guys? I can pull my weight, got food right here.”
Kenny sighed. “What do you think John? I dunno, I know Christia wouldn’t be jumping up and down excited for new people joining.”
“I know but I think we should let her come with us. I mean what if the guys she is talking about are the same from a few months ago? It’s the right thing to do.” John replied.
“Alright then, you can come with us. Just let Jack get a smell of you first.” Kenny said.
“Yeah, Jack, she’s friendly.” John said
Tracy then let Jack smell her hand and gave him a quick pat. Jack looked a lot more happy now.
“Thank you. Cool dog when he isn’t half ready to tear me apart.” Tracy said.
“Yeah, Jack is not a dog to be on his bad side. Seen him take down walkers. But don’t worry, he’s an attention loving thing to friendly people.” John explained.
They were about to start walking but Tracy had to do something.
“Could I just get a few things from my camp? It isn’t much so I’ll be back quickly.” She asked.
“Sure.” Kenny replied.
She walked off.
“Guess it was only a matter of time before we found another person out here.” John said.
She then came back after a few minutes with a box and they started walking.
Kenny wanted some extra info. “So what are these people who attacked you? How far away was it? Best if we know.”
“Probably about 12 miles west of here? Didn’t seem like they came from the area though, they looked too much like people on the move.” Tracy explained.
“Alright, guess going to the town that way is too risky now. Did they follow you? If they have any idea then I don’t want to lead them right to us.” Kenny asked next.
“No, I ran through the woods. Nearly got nabbed by some walkers but that should have slowed them down so I could lose them. I don’t think they made much effort after seeing I wasn’t an easy target to catch.” She said.
“Hmmm, I’ll trust you. Kidnappings sound too familiar anyway, they might not be new.” Kenny said.
“What do you mean? What happened a few months ago?” She asked.
“We found a young guy on a looting trip, turns out some group took his girlfriend and we managed to confront one of them. They were going north but if they changed their mind they might be back this way…” Kenny said.
“Shit. That might be right.” She replied.
John had a bad feeling “Yeah, we should really be on alert now. If we see more signs of anyone like that around it could be trouble.”
“That RV’s staying ready to move then. Just in case we get another motor inn situation…” Kenny said.
“Yeah, keep it ready. But let’s stay posted home alright? We’ll be fine.” John said.
“I hear you.” Kenny said.
They made it back home. The walkers had been dragged away from the property and the fence had been partially fixed. Christa was waiting.
“Heya, we’re back.” Kenny greeted.
“Hey Kenny, I wasn’t thinking you were going to bring back someone living…” Christa said.
Tracy spoke up “Hey, you must be Christa. I don’t mean to be trouble or anything. Got something to cook for you all though.”
“Well, you’re useful at least. But Kenny, what’s going on with her? Is she just staying with us now?” Christa asked.
“She actually has information you should know. Yesterday she had to deal with some people who tried to kidnap her west of here and she wanted to be safer with us. We need to know whatever we can if there’s assholes around.” Kenny explained.
“If she’s telling the truth, that's bad news.” Christa said.
“Yeah it is, blame John for advocating to do the ‘right thing’ though.” Kenny explained.
“Of course John would, old man cares more about being nice than smart.” Christa said.
“I hear what you’re saying!” John yelled back out to them as he walked to the house with Tracy.
“You can count on that about him. But Tracy seems alright for now, we’ll see how she goes and our problem kidnappers. You think they could be the same from a few months ago?” Kenny asked.
“Shit, maybe but it’s a stretch. Lots of people who aren’t exactly friendly out there. Regardless, they are a problem we shouldn’t ignore.” Chirsta told Kenny
“No, we shouldn’t. Tracy said they looked on the move but if we get anyone too close that could make it dangerous to stay here and we’d have to leave before we get attacked. I know the last time things went that late we lost people… my family. I can’t let that happen again but we can’t just abandon a good spot either. We have been doing well here.” Kenny explained.
“You are right about that, it would be a shame to leave. Just keep in mind that being a bigger group isn’t necessarily safer, remember that with anyone we find. We have worked together well just being a few and anyone who doesn’t work out well will be a determinant to us. But who was it? Tracy seems capable and if she’s useful then I can’t say no yet.”
“Yeah, she seems like someone who can stick it out alone, hopefully that doesn’t mean she’s one of them loners who don’t care about anybody but themselves.” Kenny replied.
Tracy soon came back.
“Hey, what’s the chatter here?” She asked.
“Just talking about how things are.” Kenny answered.
“Sounds like it, including me. But hey, I get it, I'm new and I'd do the same.” Tracy replied.
“You'll fit in then, Christa here is wary of strangers.” Kenny said.
“Yeah, because it's the living you need to worry about, not the dead. We should all know that.” Christa explained.
“Yeah, I'm more worried about the people who attacked me than any old walker.” Tracy replied.
“We're no refuge shelter but I'm fine with the others letting you stay. You don't seem like trouble and if there’s people out there who are trouble then you can help.” Chirsta explained.
“Thank you, I haven't been in a group for a long time so I'm glad I found good people. Just been me on my own for the past couple of years.” Tracy said.
“All of us have spent time not in groups, this barely counts as one.” Chirsta replied.
“Ha yeah, you three and then me. I've come across other people before who were no trouble but some people are like the last group.” Tracy said.
Kenny knew that as he had met new friends and enemies in the world they were in.
“Yeah, we just came across John and now he's our pal for example. Also came across people who would kill you instead.” Kenny replied.
Christa wanted to get back to the house.
“How about we go inside? No reason to keep standing here.” Christa suggested.
They went inside and went to the dining table since it had room for them.
John also came and sat with them. “Lunch will be served soon, cooking right now.”
“Thanks John, how is that garden of your's doing? You know more than us about it.” Kenny answered.
“Pretty well, herbs are doing okay and got some vegetables for the cooler weather growing or even ready. I'm better with the weather here than I used to. Let me tell you that a lot changes coming from Ohio when It comes to gardening.”
Tracy was interested. “You have a garden? Would be nice to eat more than animals and whatever wild plants there are for once.”
“Yep, consider me the chef who also sources his own ingredients. Well, Kenny catches the fish, he Is a fisherman and not me.”
“Commercial fisherman before everything actually. If we had a boat I could even go out on the lakes not far from here. Would be nice to spend the day out anyway.” Kenny explained.
“I know where a boat is, I actually used it out when I was at the lake by the town east of here. I was no good at it though, had to go back to shore.” Tracy told him.
“Well, show us the way some day if nobody has taken it. Worst case it could also get us off the mainland if it's capable enough but can be moved.” Kenny said.
Christa glared at him.
“It was just an idea, we're not going out to sea. Though I do wonder if there's some island that's a safe zone out there. Walkers can go underwater but they can't swim as far as I know.”
“I don't think they can. But sometimes they surprise.” Tracy said.
“They sure do, I remember being up on an observation deck and I heard it partially collapsed, well I remember hearing shit outside that they were climbing it and the rest had to be taken down. I didn't see though, I was actually helping a woman giving birth if you'd believe it.”
“Damn, that's quite a story.” Tracy said.
Kenny sighed “Yeah… the baby made it. AJ, hope you're doing okay in Wellington.”
Some time passed and John handed out their meals. “Eat up guys, meal of the day.”
Tracy looked at it. “Wow, looks like the best prepared food I've had for a while.”
John was happy to hear it. “Thank you, you are our guest so enjoy it.”
They ate their lunch, there was enough thanks to both the caught fish and rabbit along with things from the garden.
Christa had something to ask. “John, you made sure the generator is off?”
“Yeah, made sure not to waste the gas.” John replied.
“Good, fuel is only going to get rarer. Need to keep some spare.”
They kept eating.
“Can't say we had rabbit and fish at once much.” Kenny commented.
“Well, you gotta eat what you get these days. Besides, we've all done worse.” John replied.
“Yeah, better than starving in some old motel for example.” Kenny said.
Tracy knew when it got bad. “I've had bad luck sometimes, an actual meal is something to appreciate.”
John had a question. “Your shirt? Are you from New York or have you just visited?”
“Back in 2000, my parents, brother and I went on a family trip. We all got shirts there, It was better times… even saw the Twin Towers and got a really good view of the city from the observation deck.” She told everyone.
John knew “Yeah… It was better times. Who knew the new millennium would be so bad? Attacks and then the end of the world as we knew it. Hah, that Y2K nonsense was nothing.”
They chuckled. Kenny commented. “Yeah, people fearing everything with a computer would just break and things would fall apart. The dead rising to eat us was the real end.’
John was hopeful. “I don't think this is the end, definitely the end of the old world but I'm sure some day things will be better, society will return.”
Kenny thought he had a point. “Actually yeah, if places like Wellington can survive then maybe that's true.”
Tracy didn't know. “Wellington? That's that?”
“It's a community up in Ohio near Michigan. It's safe with big walls, could always be an option to go back to if we wanted to move on. They were full already but they did say things might change after a while and that was a year ago. But we are good here, let’s keep making it work if no one ruins it.” He explained.
“Sounds nice, though I would not like the cold.” Tracy said.
“Exactly why we're down here. Besides, Florida is my home.” Kenny replied.
“Yeah, Florida is the place to be!” Tracy boasted.
Christa wasn't impressed. “Ugh, don't get all… nostalgic.”
“Aw c,mon, it's still great. The winters are nice for starters.” Tracy replied.
“I suppose so.” Christa said.
John got up and got what was left of the food “Anyone want some second's or extra? Whatever's left has a dog who is going to eat it.”
“Sure, I'll take some.” Kenny said.
Tracy did too “Yeah, I'd like some more please.”
They got some extra food. John then put some down for Jack to eat which he did rather quickly.
Tracy had a question. “So, what do you guys do? Other than finding strangers nearby that is.”
John answered. “We survive of course, but I make sure to have some card and board games and things to do. Gotta have things to enjoy for life to be good, especially these days.”
“That sounds nice, I can agree with that.” Tracy replied.
Kenny was glad. “Good, then you two will get along just fine.”
“Sure, anyone who agrees is part of the crew.” John replied.
John had another idea. “Should we go over to the lake tomorrow? Can scout the area out, maybe catch some fish to sort out food and find the boat Tracy mentioned? Could be something nice for us to do while being useful.” John asked.
“Sure, I was already on board with the boat anyway, good idea to check it out. Probably boats that are towable on the lake since it is shallow too.” Kenny answered.
Christa didn’t object. “Alright, It’s actually a decent idea. And if we have company outside then it is a good idea to check things out.”
Tracy of course was happy with it.
Kenny was happy with the result. “Sounds like we’re going out to Lake Okeechobee tomorrow. Anyway, I'll take watch outside.
Christa was grateful. “Thanks Kenny.”
Kenny was getting up after finishing his lunch but John wanted to go outside too. “Actually I’ll go too, let Jack out again and I’ll give him some exercise, works to keep myself fit anyway.”
“Alright, go play with your dog. Jack is a good guard dog to make anyone question coming here and we need that.
Kenny went outside and kept watch in case of anything. Could always be walkers or anything else around. Regardless, it was nice weather to Kenny so it wasn’t bad, he just hoped it would be the same tomorrow.

• I have no one to discuss Bridgerton with in my personal life so I’ve come to Reddit
  
• I don’t hate the show, I obviously enjoy it but for the most part I honestly don’t know how else I feel about it. I mostly like it because it is easy to watch. Unfortunately, when I’m watching it my mind wanders and I come up with posts like this
  

I’ll start with the problems with season 1, then move onto seasons 2 and 3. I’ll also include thoughts for upcoming seasons and why I’m uncertain of the show moving forward
Season 1:
My biggest problem with the first season is that Daphne raped Simon. It is in the book but ti shouldn’t have been put on our screen in 2020. I understand that there was some miscommunication about sex and how babies are produced but there are so many other ways the writers could’ve come up with something better. To me the rape scene seemed like lazy writing that could’ve been avoided. It seemed like production was trying to stay truer to the books in season 1 and I think the show hurt because of it.
I know that there were some plot points added and taken away during the first season, but the core of the season felt very similar to the books. They had to add more characters and add perspectives because of the added time. I don’t really know how to explain it but the season felt similar to the book and not in a good way.
Daphne as the protagonist was underwhelming. With the added time I was hoping to have more character development. This isn’t hate to the actress, she was working with the material she had. I can only name a few things about Daphne’s character. We spent so much time with her but yet I know nothing about her. She was our entry point into the society but yet she didn’t really even have any comments on the society. A common complaint that will come up is there are too many characters and unfortunately it feels like the writers are getting ahead of themselves and trying to set up future seasons before they have set up the current one.
Why do we hear so much about the Featherington’s? I know that Penelope is important because she is Lady Whistledown but her entire family is getting too much screen time. Also, Marina Thompson was an okay character for me but again nothing special. I know this whole subplot was set up for Eloise, but I hope it gets scrapped. It seems unnecessary to bring up that storyline again in another few years. Anyways, those were my condensed version of my thoughts on season 1. I know I’m being negative towards it but in my opinion, it is the worst season so far.
Season 2:
This season has been my favourite so far. Kate and Anthony as individual characters are fleshed out. I know their personalities; their personalities aren’t defined by their romance. That is so refreshing because that wasn’t the case in the previous season. Even though the writes worked hard on Kate and Anthony’s personalities they did Edwina so dirty.
In the books Edwina is a lot smarter. She has a better sense of the family’s finances. Edwina knows that she must marry how the fortune. In the book, Edwina isn’t in love with Anthony and Anthony isn’t in love with Edwina. In the show, Edwina is so stupid. She isn’t aware of her situation, and she isn’t as savvy. I hate that they made Edwina fall in love with Anthony. It made it so that there was a stupid love triangle. I know that Bridgerton at its core is all about love and romance it just would’ve been more interesting for someone who needed to marry but wasn’t looking for a love match, in the younger generation. I know the show is leaning more towards not copying and pasting from the book, but Edwina’s character could’ve been better. They could’ve made her ace or something.
As mentioned previously, enough with the Featheringtons! I don’t understand the whole cousin Jack storyline. I hate how we spent so much time on it but nothing to rally come out of it. In my opinion the Featherigton’s are always going to have their estate and money because I don’t think the show is bold enough to have the Featherington’s to lose everything.
I do love a good slow-burn but Kate and Anthony’s romance was nice and hot up until a certain point. I think it was by episode 6 or even part way into episode 7 I lost interest. I love a good build-up but, in my opinion, it was too slow. I’m not saying they should’ve gotten together after the besting but not at the very end. It would’ve been nice to have a bit more time with them as an established couple. I think Anthony and Edwina’s relationship progressed for far too long.
Season 3:
There has already been a lot said about season 3 online so I won’t get too much into it. I know that we had knowledge of Colin and Penelope’s friendship from previous seasons, but I wish we got more scene with them together. In my opinion, each season of Bridgerton should almost be a standalone season. Of course, the viewer would get more out of it if they were exposed to all of the seasons, but they should be able to piece together what is happening without having prior background information. With Colin and Pen, a causal viewer might be more lost on what is happening. It all happened so quickly, and it felt more out of lust than anything. I hope it gets sorted out in part 2.
Like Daphne, Colin is a nothing character. We know very little about him and I’m sure that purposeful because now, Colin doesn’t know himself. I know we got some infodump about Colin from Violet, but it felt out if place and insincere. I don’t know how we’re going to get enough character development out of Colin before the end of the season. A big problem is that Colin doesn’t really have a purpose in life. He is the third son; he can pretty much do whatever he wants, and he doesn’t know what to do.
All of the characters in this season is mindboggling. There are so many, and it feels like half of the characters are kind of unnecessary. Since we get so little screen time with the main couple I also don’t care about a lot of these characters. There are so many things to say about season 3 but a lot has already been said and we still have four more episodes.
Problems now and in the Future:

• We’re not getting enough episodes. I don’t think we need 24 episodes for this type of show, but I think we need 10–12-hour long episodes. That way we can have more character development and see the couple more established.
  
• The timeline is all messed up. I don’t really know where they’re going to put Benedict’s storyline. I hope that he’s soon but not necessarily have his season in the ton’s season. Same with Francesca. I wouldn’t be surprised if Francesca’s wedding to John is at the end of the season but her story with Michael doesn’t have to be during the ton’s season.
  
• I’m worried about Francesca’s season. I think it’s important for her storyline if a lot of her time is spent in Scotland. I don’t know how the writers are going to include the rest of the cast as much as previous seasons. I like Francesca and her storyline, I’m worried though that her storyline is better suited for a book than a TV show.
  
• On the same note, Eloise’s season might be a bit of a mess. I really hope Philip Crane isn’t her love interest. I hope she is the queer character the showrunner was hinting at. I also don’t see a reason for Eloise to corresponding with Sir Philip. I also feel like we don’t have to open the Marina can of worms again. We already know it’s an unhappy arrangement, can we leave it at that.
  
• I think it was a mistake to age up Gregory and Hyacinth. It will be a long time before it is their season or even when they are out in society. I know the actors are getting older, but I would try and keep them younger for a while.
  
• I think there should’ve been a time jump between season 2 and 3. I don’t think it should’ve been 10 years like in the books, but I think there should’ve been a 4- or 5-year gap. Penelope really comes into herself during that time. I don’t think she would lose weight or anything but just have more confidence. I think she should’ve had a couple of extra years to earn the time of spinster instead of at 20.
  
• I feel like Lady Danbury is being underused in season 3. I love her relationship with Penelope. Lady Danbury truly sees Penelope for who we are. I think that’s important because not even Colin sees her for who she truly is.
  
• I think if they are going to have a central queer storyline, which I’m all for. I hope they start to integrate queer couples within the show. If there is a queer storyline, I hope it’s not some huge thing within society. I hope it will simply be another love story.
  
• I think they need to film these seasons faster. If we are going to have 8 seasons it needs to go by faster. Actor’s age and there’s nothing wrong with that but I don’t know how I feel with actors in their early 40s playing characters in their early 20s. Not just that but the fandom might lose interest. I’m not saying that the cast isn’t beautiful. Nicola Coughlan looks amazing but I don’t think they can keep filming until 2035 or around und there. It gets to be difficult as the cast starts to leave to do other projects. By the end there might be like three cast members left. Especially if the next couple of seasons are underwhelming. Of course, there will always be a fanbase, but it might turn to more of a casual viewership.

Last night I was able to break the brick wall of who owned my family the Grahams. It was less of a brick wall but more I finally got to see it with my own eyes.
John D. Graham was the last man to own this part of my family, he died in 1847. If you know anything about North Carolina you know that Billy Graham is from here. This John Graham is 1c3r from Billy. An even more famous relative his brother William Alexander Graham was GOVERNOR of the state. His father (or grandfather I can’t recall right now) was on the board of trustees for the UNC System (this particularly freaked me out I got to NCSU the biggest school in the system)
The older plantation my people were on is now a wedding venue and I feel absolutely disgusted by it,the newer plantation is now under lake Norman. Neither of the websites mention the enslaved people kept there like cattle and it just infuriates me.
