Help find a part
Hi, I have a 2000 Jetta 2.8 VR6 which cracked a coolant pipe and I can’t find a replacement. I do have the part number that I found off the VW parts website but I cannot find it anywhere. It’s called a radiator return pipe according to the website. I tried buying it off of Europarts4less which ended up not actually having the part and refunding me. Part Number is: 1J0121070AC I’d appreciate help finding a replacement part or advice on how to go about completing the repair.

2024.05.14 20:18 whenth3bowbreaks Deep Diving on HRT Research and the Surprising Numbers I found

So, I got my first HRT prescription and you know, for funsies, I read the clinical studies paperwork that came with it. And honestly, I was surprised that so much came out of this study, and that the numbers were so small to have caused such an uproar and have left women without hormonal support for so long.
I am no researcher, but I do like research, so this may be off as statistics class was a long time ago (if you see an error here, please let me know).
So let’s take a look at the study that kicked this off*, Risks and Benefits of Estrogen Plus Progestin in Healthy Postmenopausal Women: submitted to The Journal of the American Medical Association*, 2002
It was a randomized controlled primary prevention trial:
Original Plan:

However, the research ended early, 4 years later with 15,576 women still participating.
Outcomes:
Cardiovascular Disease:
Cardiovascular disease: 164 on protocol vs. 122 placebo out of 15,576 women. The total percentage of women who experienced cardiovascular disease in the study was approximately 1.84%
So, approximately 1.05% of women on the protocol (HRT) experienced cardiovascular disease, while approximately 0.78% of women on placebo experienced cardiovascular disease.
The percentage difference between the percentage of women who experienced cardiovascular disease on the protocol (HRT) and placebo is 0.27%.

Stroke:
Stroke 127 vs 85 out of 15,576 women
The overall percentage of women who experienced stroke in the study was approximately 1.36%. Approximately 0.815% of women on the protocol (HRT) experienced stroke, while approximately 0.546% of women on placebo experienced stroke.
The difference in percentage between the protocol (HRT) and placebo groups was approximately 0.269%. Approximately 0.23% of women had strokes during the study period.
The baseline risk of stroke for women who do not use HRT is 1%, using HRT might increase that risk to somewhere between 1.2% and 1.5%.
To give you a sense of perspective, compare these numbers to the study, Cigarette Smoking and Risk of Stroke in Middle-Aged Women which examined the incidence of stroke in relation to cigarette smoking in a prospective cohort study of 118,539 women 30 to 55 years of age and free from coronary heart disease, stroke, and cancer.
Compared to non-smokers, women who smoked 1 to 14 cigarettes per day had their risk of stroke increased by approximately 120%, and women who smoked 25 or more cigarettes per day had their risk increased by approximately 270%.
The baseline risk of stroke for women who do not smoke is 1%, but smoking 1 to 14 cigarettes per day might increase that risk to approximately 2.2%, and smoking 25 or more cigarettes per day might increase it to around 3.7%
Yet we can buy a pack of cigarettes over the counter, no questions asked, and totally legal!

I ran out of time today to make comparative research analysis on risks, so the rest are just a comparison within the same 2002 study.
...
Venous thromboembolic disease:
151 vs. 67 out of 15,576 women
The overall percentage of women who experienced venous thromboembolic disease (VTE) in the study was approximately 1.40%.
Approximately 0.970% of women on the protocol (HRT) experienced VTE, while approximately 0.430% of women on placebo experienced VTE.
The difference in percentage between the protocol (HRT) and placebo groups was approximately 0.540%.
...
Invasive Breast Cancer:
166 on protocol vs. 124 placebo out of 15,576 women
The overall percentage of women who experienced invasive breast cancer in the study was approximately 1.86%.
Approximately 1.07% of women on the protocol (HRT) experienced invasive breast cancer, while approximately 0.80% of women on placebo experienced invasive breast cancer..
The difference in percentage between the protocol (HRT) and placebo groups was approximately 0.27%.

You may have a different opinion on this, but these numbers are EXCEEDINGLY low to have caused such an impact. And, the study has some real issues that need to be considered:

...
And, in my research today, I stumbled across this interesting anecdote:
The Women’s Health Initiative; HRT and Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Data
Submitted to the journal Cancer in 2020

SEER*stat 8.3.6 is a statistical tool used to analyze cancer data. In this study, researchers looked at the rates of invasive breast cancer from 1992 to 2014, focusing on different groups of women.
They found that for White women under 80 years old who have Medicare insurance, the rates of breast cancer started to decrease before the year 2000, possibly even as early as 1992. This suggests that something other than a particular medical finding in 2001 (called the WHI publication) might have influenced the decline in breast cancer rates among these women.
The study also talks about how changes in population demographics, like people living longer, can affect how we interpret cancer rates. The researchers mention that adjusting for age over a long period of time might make it seem like cancer rates have increased among Black women over 40 years. However, their analysis shows that this isn't true, and in fact, breast cancer rates among Black women have been rapidly declining since 2012.
Another point discussed is hormone replacement therapy (HRT), a treatment used to relieve symptoms of menopause. A separate study found that there were significant decreases in the number of HRT prescriptions for women over 50 years old during certain time periods. Despite this decrease, there wasn't a clear link between HRT and breast cancer rates.
In summary, the findings suggest that factors other than hormone replacement therapy may be influencing breast cancer rates, and there may be more to understand about the trends in breast cancer among different groups of women.
I wrote this out and tried to put it in layman’s terms because I see still a persistent concern about whether HRT is right for us based on earlier research. I sought to put this out in this way with actual numbers that might help others have a truly informed opinion, and hey, perhaps you can show this to your health provider because it does make you wonder-do actually read the research forming the basis of their opinions?
Again, I do not work in a lab, or do science for work or anything like that, so if you see a mistake, or have something to add, I would love to hear it!

2024.05.08 10:18 daviddelacruz Sociopath put a club locking device on the car I purchased 3 months prior off him and making a new price while kicking me out for no true reason.

So I was in a bind, my car had just been totaled and I needed to move from the place I was renting. I had a guy that I worked for, several weekends over a year, for 5-6 years reach out and offered an extra room he had in a home he was renting. He had also bought a used car and wanted to sell his old car, offering this to me as well. It was like a Godsend. I could keep my job on the same town and had the independence of a car again. I was so very thankful. Concerning the car, 2000 Toyota 4Runner, 300k miles, 5 years overdue registration ($950) needing struts, brakes, coolant and transmission flush, battery, fair tires, broken front light w significant dent, no internal lights, and a screwy steering column …but it ran and could temporarily get me to work until I saved for something different. Along w the responsibility of overdue registration, he said that as long as he could get what was needed $700, from me, to get his new car running, that he would go to the dmv and gift it to me. This was in January and I paid him. He never said or acted like it was still his. On 2/5, he changed the terms of rent and afterward I have text asking him how much I still owed for the car, to make everything clear and no other surprises and he replied:
“As for the car let me see what it is that needs to be done so I can gift it to u. It’s yours I just gotta make sure you’re not Penalized in anyway for driving it or something”
He always referred to it as. “Your car”. I never questioned or felt he had ownership over it. I began chipping away at the Maintenance needed and because he is so irresponsible using electricity the bill was more than he expected and my fixed rate each month(which included rent, utilities and wifi) was less than what half shared would’ve been.
This past month, his mask slipped up and he began a smear campaign about any desperate thing he could. He finally fixed upon the claim I haven’t paid him my share of rent/utilities. He’s been a terrorizer. Making up stories, throwing my belongings on the lawn to find them destroyed on my way to work in the morning. I never engaged or gave him any attention for acting like this.
Today I go out to my car to go to work and there’s a club on it. I had to call in. He’s yelling at me to leave but then he does this. It’s in his name still but only bc he never took the time to sign it over li he said.
The previous week he took out the battery to jump his car bc I was asleep and didn’t respond to his banging and demanding that I got up to do it. The hood was up, the battery was out on the to discharge. No j bolt. No tools and I was late to work. The previous week my boss handed me a check saying that I looked Like I had a lot on my mind and was depressed and he didn’t think I was a good fit. This was after my first week. And today I had to call in.
I have to go to work tomorrow. I live out iN the country there’s no Uber or taxi that will come out that far. Especially that early. Should I break the club off and take it anyway? I’m stranded out here he’s home all day and gets some sick pleasure out of doing all this. I want to pack my things right now and saw it off but am I ok legally. I don’t trust him at all

A little background. I'm in my 40s and studied Alfred Chandler extensively as an undergrad business student in college. Where most business schools teach about maximizing shareholder wealth, and business school graduates often get hired on as financial advisors, usually with the kid thinking he's gonna turn into the next Jordan Belfort, when really the hiring is focused on determining the parents' assets and it's worth the churn and burn hire to capture the parents' accounts by the hiring company, I had a brilliant professor, Dr. Roy Simerly, for strategic management who threw everything we'd learned up until his class out the window. He referred to the idea of "maximizing shareholder wealth" as "rubbish". 5 of the 17 students in our class failed and were unable to graduate, disrupting their plans. He gave zero f*cks. Dr. Simerly and I became and remained friends until he passed away.
I was 19 when I graduated and grew a company to $24M/yr at 21 as a software developer. I'd moved from NC to Florida with $2000 to my name with no friends in Florida and no job prospects. 9/11 happened six days after I went incorporated. I quit that job at 23 (wasn't my company) and six months later they went under and 60+ people lost their jobs. This has been a recurring theme in my life.
Simerly summarized Chandler's Logic as this:
The Logic of the Managerial Enterprise is the making of necessary investments in management, production and distribution in order to achieve economies of scale and/or scope, benefit from the learning curve, with the strategic intent of dominating a portion of an industry.
Here's an essay by Chandler that I share frequently as an introduction: https://hbr.org/1990/03/the-enduring-logic-of-industrial-success
The thing that impresses me about Tesla is how simple their supply chain is compared to the traditional auto manufacturers, not to mention their level of vertical integration. In traditional vehicles, every button on the dash needs a mold, a manufacturing process and a supply chain, for every culture the vehicle gets exported to -- e.g., there needs to be a mph and a km/h speedometer. Buttons needs to be available in different languages, et cetera. Every bearing, spring, bolt, transmission synchronizer, gear, et cetera has its own supply chain.
With a Tesla, they have a touch screen, a couple motors, wiring harnesses and some axle shafts. I consider their powertrain to require the supply chain that might equal what it requires Audi to make a TorSen differential, a starter and an alternator (castings, precision gears and motor windings). I have significant experience in weapons and circuit board manufacturing, and I know the castings, machining, heat treating, et cetera, of the components in the supply chain are far more intensive than making circuit boards and, especially, updating firmware.
I've also notice that owners cannot buy out their leases. More on that in a bit.
It takes less than 70 hp under all circumstances to maintain highway speed. This post on Quorum does a nice job explaining it: https://www.quora.com/How-much-horsepower-is-needed-to-move-a-car-forward-at-highway-speeds-60-mph
Now for some Art of War:
When a country is impoverished by military operations, it is because of transporting supplies to a distant place. Transport supplies to a distant place, and the populace will be impoverished.
Those who are near the army sell at high prices. Because of high prices, the wealth of the common people is exhausted.
When resources are exhausted, then levies are made under pressure. When power and resources are exhausted, then the homeland is drained. The common people are deprived of seventy percent of their budget, while the government's expenses for equipment amount to sixty percent of its budget.
Therefore a wise general strives to feed off the enemy. Each pound of food taken from the enemy is equivalent to twenty pounds you provide by yourself.
So what kills the enemy is anger, what gets the enemy's good is reward.
Therefore, in a chariot battle, reward the first to capture at least ten chariots.
Change their colors, use them mixed in with your own. Treat the soldiers well, take care of them.
This is called overcoming the opponent and increasing your strength to boot.
We are seeing this in the competition. Tesla was not taken seriously as EVs were not taken seriously by the traditional manufacturers. Now they're trying to play catch up, but it's impossible as there is no manufacturer other than Tesla that understands software development. I know this because I know several people who work for Tesla, and I know nobody who works for any of the traditional auto manufacturers and some of those who I know that now work for Tesla left traditional supply chains to work for Musk. As a developer, I would find it impossible to accomplish anything under the way the traditional organizations operate. They don't get it.
Aluminum takes something like 10% of the resources to recycle as it does to refine from Bauxite. I suspect the reason we cannot buy out Tesla leases is that the materials, including the rare earth materials for batteries, will lower the cost of the vehicles further through recycling. Yes, I'm aware that what's said publicly is that recycling Lithium-Ion batteries doesn't yield economies, but I think back to how Napoleon used aluminum utensils at his table when everyone else used gold because Aluminum was far more expensive at the time. Processes changed that and now aluminum is cheap. I suspect that Musk's engineers may have solved the rare earth recycling to increase economies. Motor recycling may present advantages, and perhaps that single-piece die-cast frame could be efficiently recycled as well.
Here's what I'm thinking, given the long introduction. One revenue center for Tesla is selling carbon credits (I would have to guess that those are sold to the supply chain of their competition). The subsidies benefit Tesla far more than the other manufacturers and, as Tesla is not entrenched in the political donor class like, say, Chrysler, I suspect these subsidies to end in response to it not helping the donor class as expected, and when they do and as Tesla already has a vastly simplified supply chain, and that their powertrain does not need direct mechanical coupling between the motive source and the traction source, my gut tells me that they could get away with a much smaller battery pack and a small engine. The reduction in weight means the amount of material used to support the vehicle drops. The small battery pack can be used to provide rapid acceleration when it's needed. It may even be possible to use one of their existing motors that's used as a regenerative source, or, if not, to use a variant of the motor as a charging generator and, combined with a small engine ( < 100hp) to make an APU and now have an ICE-powered vehicle that leverages their simple supply chain and powertrain. There still would be no transmission, drive shaft, et cetera. If it were me, I would not be using sheet metal for the body panels, but that's as far as I can go without violating an NDA.
Tesla just dropped their supercharger team, which supports this theory as well.
One final note, unrelated to Tesla, but related to economies of scale and scope. I remember when I first toured the Gulfstream 650 line (we'd just bought one, so they showed me around) thinking that Gulfstream was positioning themselves to own aviation outside of cabin class business jets in their fly-by-wire technology. Their design cycle times used to be several years. The G550 was a variant of the GV and it was several years before the 650 was released. But after they developed their fly-by-wire technology, they quickly developed the 500, the 600, the 280, the 700 and the 800. And whether they can continue on their current trajectory without General Disaster screwing things up is yet to be seen.

2024.05.05 06:49 Suspicious215 2000 Miata Crank No Start Issue

Forgive me if I'm in the wrong spot and if its really long because I'm overexplaining, this is my first post. I have a crank no start issue that has left me without my car for over three months and would really appreciate some help as I am completely stumped and want to die.
My Car: 2000 1.8L Miata
What I did to get in the situation: I mostly rebuilt my engine a few months ago due to severe oil leaks. I didn't mess with the rods/pistons/cams etc though. I pulled the engine and transmission and then replaced front and rear main seals, reseated the oil pump and oil pan, and installed an ACT Stage 1 Clutch.
The Problem: After putting the engine in it cranks just fine and at a regular interval maybe two-three seconds i guess combustion is happening because the car will shudder and i can hear a it combusting for like 1 second but then it goes back to just turning over for two more seconds and then repeat with the short burst of combustion. Opening the throttle body via the accelerator pedal may seem to slightly influence this in respect to power.
What I did wrong: I have never done anything like this before and I did make some mistakes. Believe it or not i left toilet paper in the intake holes in the block from when I cleaned it. I pulled the intake manifold off and pulled it out later, there is a tiny bit left on the valve of cylinder three but i couldn't really reach in to get it out better, the valve doesn't seem to lift up enough to get under it so i was just scraping the edges if that makes sense. Right after this I actually got it to start after cranking for two minutes, and it ran fine for like 2 minutes because my dumbass jumped in and drove around the block and then either it died or i somehow stalled it idk.
I also had the timing wrong initially but i am certain it's correct now i can include pictures if needed but i have the notch lined up at the crankshaft gear, intake and exhaust cams are line up with the appropriate marks (i didn't take the cam gears off) and 19 teeth on the belt between them. I had some confusion as to whether or not the #1 piston was at TDC for a compression stroke or a different stroke but I had spun the cam gears around and wasn't sure of anything anymore. However with piston #1 at TDC I put the lobes on the camshaft for cylinder#1 pointing at 9'oclock on the intake side and 3'oclock on the right side which matched videos I'd seen of people replacing their belt and from what I understand that's what determines if its a compression or exhaust or etc stroke.
Things I've checked: I have an OBD2 scanner and the only codes I've ever gotten have ben the P1345 or whatever and an intermittent crank sensor which relate to the below sensors but they seem to work
My crankshaft position sensor seems to work and the trigger plate I guess I lucked out and installed in the right direction because if i rotate the engine by hand I can hear it triggering i guess the fuel pump relay when the nubs pass it by.
Camshaft position sensor is brand new and from back-probing I've determined the ground has continuity, it's getting 12v, the signal wire is putting out 4.7v when it passes the nub on the camshaft gear and like .23 or something otherwise.
My fuel pump seems to work because i can't hear the faint hum from the tank when the key is in the ON position i don't hear the click click for 5 seconds like I used to from I guess the main relay when i turn the ignition to ON but if the relay didn't work I wouldn't be getting any spark or a CEL right? I should be getting fuel because the toilet paper was soggy with fuel when I pulled it out, when I replaced the fuel feed line (long process of learning but it was pressurized each of the 20 times I had to pull it off the nipple, and spark plugs seem wet after cranking.
My MAF does work I tested it with the output from my OBD2 scanner by blowing through the pipe and it registers like 30 to 40 grams/sec from blowing, however when I try to crank the engine it doesn't register any air flowing through so I wondered if that's my problem but I don't know if that's normal when just cranking\
My sparks plugs are all brank new and when I pull one out and ground it on the manifold it does spark in time with the engine pulse combustions if you will i thought that was my issue it wasn't sparking steadily but from watching videos of people testing it seems normal to have a very slow spark rate at first until the engine gets going? coil packs are getting 12v and they tested correctly for whatever resistance they are supposed to have and since i rebuilt the engine it makes sense I messed something up, not the coil pack randomly dying. And yes I did the spark plugs wires in the right order 4123 I've checked too many times.
If anyone can help me I would really really really appreciate it I've spent hours upon hours watching youtube and looking online for an answer and I don't really know what to try anymore. I can include videos/pictures whatever you need.

Introduction

People who are interested in pursuing a career as an electrical worker typically have dozens of questions. Unfortunately, they soon discover that getting answers isn’t always as easy as they hoped.
That’s why I wrote this book. It contains information and advice that will help you take the right steps to entering the electrical trade, joining a union, and earning the benefits that come with union membership.
This book is organized in three sections:
  1. The first will give you an overview of the major electrical organizations in the United States
  2. The second will guide you through the steps you will need to join an apprenticeship program and get started on your new career
  3. Finally, the third section will teach you more about the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and what you can expect once you join the IBEW
If you have already been accepted into an apprenticeship, you can skip right to Section 3 (although you may want to poke around Section 2 for tips on how to be a more successful apprentice). If you haven’t started applying yet, I encourage you to read from start to finish.
Now, let’s start with a basic but important question: what is a labor union anyway?

The Basics of Labor Unions

What Is a Labor Union?
A labor union is a coalition of workers who join together to advance their common interests. They bargain for better wages and benefits, safer working conditions, more manageable schedules, and other conditions of employment. While each individual worker could technically negotiate for these on their own behalf, joining a union gives them strength in numbers. Collective bargaining gives them more leverage over employers and gives them the option to strike if they can’t reach an acceptable outcome. When a deal is secured, it is drafted under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which lays out the wages, benefits, and working conditions for all union workers who fall under this agreement.
What Is a Union Local?
If a labor union is large enough, it will have local branches for each city or region it covers. These branches are typically referred to simply as "locals" and are designated a number, such as "Local 569." Each union local will have its own CBA, or even multiple CBA's if the union represents more than one classification of worker. This allows them to take a more tailored approach to labor agreements, factoring in the specific needs of the region or industry.
What Are Union Dues?
Nearly every union will require its members to pay union dues. These dues may be a small percentage of the union member’s gross income, a monthly lump sum, or a mixture of both. Dues typically range from 1-6% of a worker’s total gross income.
Union dues pay for the functioning of the union, including salaries and benefits of union leaders and staff, legal representation, political campaigns, pensions, and health and welfare funds. These dues also provide members with access to resources and support that they may not have been able to access on their own.
While many people initially bristle at the thought of paying union dues, the flip side is that members of unions earn, on average, 31% more on their paycheck and have better benefits and working conditions. For the IBEW specifically, members also join a minimum of three pension funds, something no non-union company can offer. In addition to financial benefits, union membership also provides a sense of community and solidarity among workers, who are able to come together to advocate for their rights and interests.

The Cornerstone of the Electrical Industry: The IBEW, NECA, and ETA

IBEW
Founded in 1891, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) was established in response to the poor working conditions and low pay experienced by electrical workers. At the time, as many as 50% of linemen or inside wiremen were dying on the job while earning just $10 a week.
Today, the IBEW is the largest electrical labor union in the world, representing over 775,000 workers across North America. While the majority of its members are electricians, the IBEW also represents workers in the telecom, lineman, broadcasting, manufacturing, and railroad industries, as well as some coffee shops. This book, however, will focus on the three most commonly represented worker classifications within the IBEW: electricians, linemen, and telecom workers.
NECA
The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) is a trade association that represents the electrical contracting industry. NECA supports businesses that bring power, light, and communication technology to buildings and communities, and it works closely with the IBEW by making labor agreements with the union's workforce. Like unions, NECA has its own chapters, each of which drafts labor agreements with the corresponding IBEW local or locals.
ETA
The IBEW and NECA work together through advocacy, education, research, and standard developments to advance the electrical contracting and electrical worker industries. Together, they formed the Electrical Training Alliance (ETA), formerly known as the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC).
The ETA is dedicated to developing and standardizing education in the electrical industry, as well as properly and effectively training members of NECA and the IBEW, in order to provide the electrical construction industry with the most highly trained and skilled workforce possible.
The Electrical Training Alliance has developed multiple electrical training apprenticeship programs for Inside Wireman (electricians), outside linemen, Voice-Data-Video (VDV, or telecom), and residential wireman. These apprenticeship programs allow apprentices to "earn while they learn'' as they get hands-on training on jobsites while taking night classes to learn the theoretical aspects of the trade. The apprenticeship program also provides a career path that leads to journeyman status, with higher pay and greater opportunities for advancement.

Section 2: Becoming an Electrical Worker

Apprenticeship Programs

The Electrical Training Alliance has multiple apprenticeship programs including those for Inside Wireman, Outside Linemen, and Voice - Data - Video (VDV) techs. In each program, apprentices will be assigned to a contractor to work full time while attending the classes (typically in the evenings) needed to complete their apprenticeship, obtain journeyman status, and qualify for a state license. Most programs will assign apprentices to a new contractor each year to ensure they have a diversity of work experience.
Authors Note - Journeyman workers are those who have completed the apprentice programs or otherwise obtained their state license, while apprentices are workers who are still enrolled in a program.

Types of Apprenticeship Programs

  • Inside Wiremen: The Inside Wiremen program focuses on the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment in commercial and industrial buildings. This includes power, lighting, controls, and other systems. The program typically takes 5 years to complete and the curriculum includes DC and AC theory, conduit bending, motor and transformer principles and applications, and grounding and bonding.
  • Outside Linemen: The Outside Linemen program focuses on the installation and maintenance of transmission and distribution lines that transmit power from power plants to various locations such as factories, businesses, and homes. This program typically takes 3 years to complete and the curriculum includes pole climbing, work methods, and hot sticks training.
  • VDV Installer Technicians: The VDV Installer Technicians program focuses on the installation and maintenance of low voltage systems such as telephone, computer networks, video distribution systems, security and access control systems and other low voltage systems. This program typically takes 3 years to complete and the curriculum includes DC and AC theory, as well as systems installation such as fire alarm, security, and telecom.
Depending on the region, VDV Technicians may be referred to by different names, such as Telecommunications or Sound and Communication Technicians.
  • Residential Wiremen: The Residential Wiremen program specializes in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems in single-family and multi-family houses and dwellings. This program typically takes 3 years to complete and the curriculum includes DC and AC theory, conduit bending, motor and transformer principles and applications, and grounding and bonding.

What Are the Prerequisites for Applying?

The application requirements for apprenticeship programs can vary slightly depending on the local you're applying to. However, most of them will have the following basic requirements:
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Have passed Algebra I
  • Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Be drug-free
If you're applying for the Outside Linemen apprenticeship, there's an additional requirement to have and maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) before being accepted into the program.
If you haven't passed an Algebra class, don't worry! You can take the Electrical Training Alliance's (ETA) Online Tech Math course to fulfill this requirement. This course is designed to help aspiring apprentices learn the math skills they need to succeed in their chosen apprenticeship program.

How Much Do Apprentices Earn?

The pay structure for apprentices in the electrical industry typically follows a standardized pattern, but may vary slightly depending on the area. In general, a first-year apprentice can expect to earn 40-45% of what a fully trained and certified journeyman worker earns. From there, apprentices typically receive guaranteed pay raises at regular intervals, such as every six months or every year, until they reach journeyman status and receive full pay.
To find specific pay scales for journeyman workers in your area, visit UnionPayScales.com.
In terms of benefits, apprentices are typically eligible for full medical coverage after their first 90 days on the job. However, their retirement benefits may be somewhat smaller compared to those of journeyman workers. For example, a journeyman worker in your local area may receive an additional $10 per hour for their pension fund, while an apprentice may only receive $4 per hour. The specifics of the benefits package will vary depending on the local Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Worker Classifications

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) represents several different journeyman level classifications of workers, including Inside Wireman, Linemen, and Voice-Data-Video/Telecom. Some local unions may only represent one or two of these classifications, while others may represent all three.
Inside Wireman Classifications:
  • Journeymen Inside Wiremen (JW): These are either electricians who have completed the full apprenticeship program and received their state license or electricians who received their state license through another avenue and later joined the union.
  • Inside Wiremen Apprentices: These are workers enrolled in the Electrical Training Alliance inside apprenticeship program. After successfully completing the program, they will automatically become Journeymen Inside Wiremen.
  • Material Handlers (MH): These are workers not in the apprenticeship program whose work scope is limited to picking up, delivering, loading, and unloading tools, equipment, and materials for contractors. They are not allowed to assemble or repair anything on the jobsite.
  • Construction Wiremen (CW): These are workers with less than 8,000 hours of electrical construction work experience. They are allowed to work on certain jobsites doing installation and maintenance. While they typically have to do some form of classroom training while enrolled as a CW, they are not part of the inside wireman apprenticeship program.
  • Construction Electrician (CE): These are workers with more than 8,000 hours of electrical work experience and who have fulfilled the classroom requirements. Each local may run its CE program differently, CEs will typically have the experience needed to take the state journeyman test. After the state test, they can take the local’s journeyman exam, which is similar to the state test, and then be re-classified as a Journeyman Inside Wireman.
Lineman Classifications
  • Journeymen Linemen (JL): Skilled professionals who have completed the full apprenticeship program and obtained their state license, or otherwise fulfilled their state license and joined the union.
  • Linemen Apprentices: These are workers enrolled in the Electrical Training Alliance Outside Lineman apprenticeship program. After completing the program, they will automatically become Journeymen Linemen.
  • Groundsmen: Also known as line helpers, these are workers who are not in the apprenticeship program. They assist journeymen linemen by performing the ground-level tasks, such as stocking trucks, digging holes, fetching tools, and driving trucks.
Voice - Data - Video Classifications
  • Journeymen VDV Installer / Technician: These are skilled professionals who have completed the full apprenticeship program and have obtained their state license, or otherwise fulfilled their state license and joined the union.
  • Apprentice VDV Installer / Technician: These are workers enrolled in the Electrical Training Alliance VDV apprenticeship program. After completing the program, they will automatically become Journeymen Installers
  • VDV Trainee: These workers are not enrolled in the apprenticeship program. They are allowed to work on certain jobsites performing installation and maintenance of low voltage systems.
Pre-Apprenticeship Opportunities
The Construction Wireman (CW), Material Handler (MH), Groundsman, and VDV Trainee classifications are often referred to as pre-apprenticeship classifications. They allow workers to become members of the IBEW and start working to gain experience and increase their chances of being accepted into the respective apprenticeship programs.
Depending on the local, some of these pre-apprenticeships will also provide pathways to reach the full journeyman level without entering a full-fledged apprenticeship program. However, many other electrical workers will simply advance to the highest levels of these classifications, like Groundsman or CW’s (who later become CE’s), and remain in these classifications for the duration of their career.
While these programs can provide a pathway to start working and some may lead to a journeyman level, the pay, benefits, and training along the way is generally not as favorable as apprenticeship programs.

The Application Process

In this chapter, we will take a detailed look at the process of applying to an Electrical Training Alliance (ETA) apprenticeship program. This step-by-step guide will cover everything you need to know, from understanding the eligibility requirements to submitting your application and preparing for the interview process.
Step 1: Locate Your Nearest IBEW
If you are interested in applying to an apprenticeship program, the first step is to identify the programs that are available to you. I have created a free apprenticeship finder on my website, which you can use to locate your nearest IBEW local. To use it, simply enter your zip code in the “Your Location” field, select IBEW, and hit the search button.
Once you have identified your nearest IBEW local, visit their website or give them a call to gather information about the apprenticeship programs they offer. Some of the questions you may want to ask include:
  • What apprenticeship programs do they offer?
  • When are they accepting new applications?
  • What are the prerequisites for applying? (There may be more than those outlined in the previous chapter)
  • What documents will you need in order to apply? (High school transcripts, birth certificate, etc.)
  • Are there any pre-apprenticeship opportunities available, such as the Construction Wireman (CW) or Material Handler programs?
It is important to gather as much information as you can before applying. This will help you better understand the application process, prepare the necessary documents and qualifications, and increase your chances of being accepted into the apprenticeship program.
Step 2: Prepare Your Application
Once you have identified the apprenticeship program you want to join and have confirmed that you meet all the minimum requirements, it’s time to gather all the documents you’ll need. This may include a certified copy of your high school transcripts, birth certificate, and any other documents specified by the program.
Don’t put this off until the last minute. It's important to start this process early as some documents can take a few weeks to obtain. You don't want to miss the application deadline because you’re still waiting for a copy of your transcripts.
If the apprenticeship program also offers pre-apprenticeship opportunities, I highly recommend taking advantage of this as soon as you can. Having work experience in the field will demonstrate that you have a solid understanding of the trade and are motivated to pursue a career in it. The more experience you have, the more attractive you will be as a candidate for the apprenticeship program.
Step 3: Prepare for the Aptitude Test and Interview
After submitting your application to become an apprentice electrician, you will be scheduled to take the Electrical Training Alliance (ETA) aptitude test. This exam consists of 69 questions (33 algebra and 36 reading comprehension questions) and allows 96 minutes for completion.
The algebra portion covers factoring, graphing and functions, quadratic equations, and manipulating fractions and equations, among other topics. The reading comprehension section assesses your ability to analyze and understand textual information.
It takes two to four weeks for the training center to receive your score results after completing the exam. If you pass, you'll be scheduled for an oral interview before a panel of IBEW and NECA representatives. This can be an intimidating experience, so it's crucial to be well-prepared and confident.
Your performance on the aptitude test and interview determines your position in the queue for the apprenticeship program. As a result, excelling in both the test and interview is essential.
To set you on the path to success, I'm providing a free, full-length, and timed practice test for the IBEW aptitude exam. Simply visit http://courses.ultimateelectriciansguide.com and select the "Free Practice" button to access this invaluable resource and ignite your journey towards an electrifying career!
Step 4: Preparing for Your Apprenticeship - Awaiting Your Decision, Gaining Work Experience, and Investing in Tools
You will generally receive your interview score and your place in the apprenticeship program queue a few weeks after your oral interview.
Some applicants, however, receive very little communication from the local during this stage of the application process. If that happens, don’t worry. The local has a large number of applications to process and will get back to you. But if you don’t hear back within a reasonable timeframe, you can reach out to them to check on the status of your application.
If you don’t get accepted into the program or receive a low placement number, don't give up. Many electricians only succeed on their second attempt. Applying again also demonstrates a commitment to joining the apprenticeship program. That makes a bigger difference than you might realize. Since the apprenticeship is a significant investment for the local, the application committee wants to hire apprentices who will complete the full program.
Don’t sit around while you wait for a response. Continue to gain work experience through the pre-apprenticeship opportunities available to you and start gathering the tools you’ll need on your first day as an apprentice. Make sure to only buy the tools that are on the provided tool list.

Achieving Success as an Apprentice: Tips and Strategies

Many workers wonder how they can excel in their apprenticeships, particularly if they have no prior experience. In this chapter, I will offer guidance and strategies for achieving success as an apprentice on the jobsite. While some of these tips may seem obvious, I have included them because they are some of the most common issues contractors run into with new apprentices.
Tip #1: Show Up on Time Everyday! Punctuality is an important quality in an apprentice. The construction industry has strict start times and deadlines that need to be met. Many office jobs have flexible start times and allow workers to linger around the watercooler when they show up. The jobsite isn’t like that. If you have a 6am start time, you’re expected to be there and ready to go at 6am.Not driving in at 6am - ready to pick up your tools and get started. Personally, I recommend arriving about 20 minutes early. This gives you plenty of time to settle in, finish your coffee, and wake up. And if you forget something at home, you can still make it on time.
Tip #2: Ask Questions - Then Ask Some More As an apprentice, you will be learning on the job. You won’t be expected to know how to do things ahead of time. Therefore, it is important to ask questions when you’re given a task. Make sure you fully understand what you’re doing and why you’re doing it. When you make mistakes, own them, fix them, and ask how you could avoid them in the future. Asking questions is expected of you and is crucial for learning and succeeding in this trade.
Tip #3: Carry a Notepad Think of a question? Write it down. Your supervisor hands you multiple tasks? Write them down. Someone tells you to fetch materials? Don’t be the person that goes all the way to the container and forgets to bring back one thing - write it down. Carrying a notepad will help you stay organized and ensure that you don't miss or forget anything important.
Tip #4: Stay Off Your Phone! Construction is a production-oriented industry, and constantly texting or checking your notifications gets in the way of that. People will notice and it can earn you a negative reputation. If you have to make a call or send a text, make sure to let your foreman know.
Tip #5: Have a Good Attitude Having a good attitude goes a long way. It’s very easy to get cynical on the job, but it’s not conducive to a healthy jobsite. Staying engaged by asking questions, volunteering for new tasks, and not complaining are all hallmarks of a quality apprentice. Journeymen will start to request to work with you, you’ll get better reviews, and you’ll succeed upwards.
Tip #6: Clean As you’re doing a task, clean up after yourself. When you’re finished with a task, clean up your work area. When you have nothing to do, use it as an opportunity to clean. Jobsites get dirty quickly and it’s up to everyone to do their part to keep it from getting too cluttered and messy. If you find yourself between tasks and nothing to do, start cleaning and organizing the material. Get it ready for the next task. There’s always something that can be cleaned up and organized on a jobsite. This also ensures you will never be caught standing around doing nothing.
Tip #7: Walk Fast Construction is a fast-paced environment, and you should act like it. When you’re on the job, your normal walking pace should be a brisk walking pace. This not only makes you more productive, but it gives the appearance that you are working faster and are more engaged. People will take notice when you’re dragging your feet.
Tip #8: Learn the tool list and stick to it Most locals will give you a tool list with the minimum and maximum tools you should bring to the jobsite. Only bring the tools listed and nothing more. The contractor is responsible for providing any tools that are not on the list.

Career Advancement Opportunities

Once you have obtained your journeyman's electrical license, the opportunities for career advancement within the IBEW are plentiful. While many electricians remain journeymen throughout their careers and have a comfortable living, others may choose to advance to other roles.
Here are a few examples of the different paths your career as an electrician can take within the IBEW:
Electrical Foreman/Leadman - This is a management position in construction where the Foreman oversees a crew composed of other journeymen and apprentices. They also communicate with the general foreman to plan daily projects and ensure that everyone has tasks to keep them busy.
General Foreman - They are responsible for labor supervision, project planning and layout, ordering tools and material, and coordinating with the superintendent, general contractor, and safety manager.
Field Superintendent - A General Foreman will often advance into a field superintendent role. They are in charge of supervising multiple construction projects, scheduling and projecting manpower requirements, and act as a liaison between the office and the field.
Estimator - Electricians who are good with numbers can become estimators tasked with analyzing blueprints to come up with cost proposals and bid on various projects.
Owner - Electricians with a business mindset can start their own electrical contracting firm with the support of IBEW. This allows them to work for themselves and have an essentially unlimited earning potential while still having the benefits of being part of a union.
It's worth noting that these are just a few examples of the different paths that an electrician can take within the IBEW. The opportunities are varied and limitless, depending on your ambition and interests. The IBEW also offers training and continuing education programs to support members in their career development.

Frequently Asked Questions About Apprenticeships

What are the chances of getting accepted into the apprenticeship program?
The chances of being accepted into an apprenticeship program depend on the number of applicants the local training center receives, as well as your performance during the aptitude test and interview. Some locals struggle to hire enough apprentices, while others, such as Local 11 in Los Angeles and Local 3 in New York City, receive thousands of applications for a very limited number of apprenticeships.
To increase your chances of being accepted, study for the aptitude test and actively prepare for the interview. You can take a free full length timed exam at http://courses.ultimateelectriciansguide.com
Gaining work experience will also increase your chances of being accepted into the program. So, pursue those pre-apprenticeship opportunities and consider completing an OSHA 10 safety course. This will demonstrate your commitment to the field and your readiness for the apprenticeship program.
What happens if I get laid off as an apprentice?
Getting laid off as an apprentice is not common, but it can happen. If it does, you will typically be placed back on the apprentice books (more on this on page x) and your local will assign you to a new contractor. Most apprentices aren’t out of work for long, if at all. Apprentices provide less expensive labor for jobsites and contractors will often keep as many apprentices as they are permitted to have on site.
Can I withdraw from the apprenticeship program if it's not for me?
If you come to the realization that the trades are not for you, you can withdraw from the apprenticeship program. However, many locals will require you to sign documents agreeing to repay the full or partial apprenticeship costs, which can amount to thousands of dollars.
If this seems harsh, remember that the Electrical Training Alliance invests a significant amount of time and resources into training apprentices, and those resources are wasted whenever someone fails to complete the program. This is one of the reasons they favor applicants with prior experience from a pre-apprenticeship program, as they have seen what the trade is like and have still decided to pursue it.
What happens if I can’t make it to work or school for a day?
If you’re not able to make it to work or school due to sickness or an emergency, you can inform your supervisor or training center. You are required to complete a certain number of working hours per year of the apprenticeship, but missing a few days won’t keep you from meeting this requirement.
If you miss a school day, you will likely have to make up for it by attending on another day of the week. Apprenticeship programs are rigorous and require consistent attendance, so you must communicate with your supervisor and training center in case of any absences.
Are there any part-time apprenticeship opportunities within the IBEW that would allow me to work less than 40 hours per week?
Due to the hourly requirements necessary to obtain a state license, there are no part-time apprenticeship opportunities within the IBEW. Apprenticeship programs are rigorous and working full-time hours is an integral part of the program.
Once you become a journeyman, you may take as much time off as you desire (unpaid, of course), but there are generally no part-time positions available in construction.
Do apprenticeship programs include drug testing for THC?
While some IBEW locals have removed THC testing from their screening process, many still conduct full drug screens for all members.
Even if you join a local that does not test for THC, it is still recommended that you remain drug-free throughout your apprenticeship, as some jobsites conduct their own drug tests that include THC screenings.

Section 3: The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)

So far, we’ve been looking at what it takes to become an electrical worker, make it through an apprenticeship program, and qualify to join a union like the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. In this section, I’ll give you an overview of what it’s like to be a member of the IBEW and what you can expect once you join.

IBEW Benefits: Pensions and Healthcare

One of the key benefits of being a union member are the pension plans, which are retirement savings plans that are fully funded by the employer. If you are considering joining an electrical trade or are already part of one, you are in luck as the IBEW offers a variety of beneficial pension plans. While these depend on your location, most members have access to a minimum of three pensions, with some locals offering even more, all of which are fully funded by the contractors.
Here is an overview of the plans you might be able to take part in.
National Electrical Benefit Fund (NEBF)
The National Electrical Benefit Fund (NEBF) is one of the largest Taft-Hartley Pension Plans in the United States. Anyone covered under an IBEW Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) is eligible to receive this benefit, regardless of whether they are a union member, journeyman, apprentice, or non-apprentice. Participants accumulate credits based on their years of work, and the number of credits earned at retirement is used to calculate a defined benefit payout.
Employers, not the employees, contribute to the fund. They will make contributions equivalent to 3% of the employee's gross pay into the fund at each pay period. This amount is not deducted from the employee's paycheck and is in addition to their pay.
To earn a credit, a participant must work a minimum of 1,000 hours in a year. Hours worked in excess of 1,000 can be used to meet the hour requirement for another “Good Year” in which the participant worked less than 1,000 hours. (A Good Year is generally defined as a year in which the participant worked 300 hours or more.) Participants cannot receive more than one credit per year. After earning 5 credits, a participant becomes vested in the plan, meaning they qualify to receive the benefits of the NEBF and cannot lose them even if they no longer participate in the plan.
The pension payout is calculated by multiplying the total number of credits earned by the retirement rate. From 2001 onward, the retirement rate has been set at $32. That means a participant who started working today and earned 40 credits (by working full-time for 40 years), would earn a monthly benefit of $1,280 (40 x $32, assuming the retirement rate stays the same). If the rate is increased halfway through that participant’s career, they would have two retirement rates and would add the total. For example, if for the first 18 years the rate was $32 and for the next 22 years it was $40, the calculated benefit would look like this:
  • 18 x $32 = $576
  • 22 x $40 = $880
  • $576 + $880 = $1456 a month
NEBF Summary Plan PDF
Defined Benefit Pension
A defined benefit pension is a pension plan that provides a set monthly benefit for the rest of your life upon retirement. This type of pension is always fully funded by the employer, and the amount of the benefit is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement, usually as a dollar amount per hour worked. The more contribution that gets paid into the plan, the higher the benefit will be.
Each local has its own requirements for becoming vested and calculating the exact benefit payout. For example, Local 569 currently uses the formula:
Hours Worked x Contribution Rate x 1.9% = Monthly Benefit.
That means if you were a member of Local 569 and worked 2,000 hours over the course of the year, using the current contribution rate (as of January 2023) of $7.45 for every hour worked, your monthly benefit would be:
2000 x $6.85 x 1.9% = $283.10
By adding up the years you worked using this formula, you will determine your total monthly benefit upon retirement. For example, if you worked for 30 years at this contribution rate, you would receive $8,493 per month from this pension alone. Keep in mind that your contribution rate typically increases each year, so the real amount is likely to be even higher.
Defined Contribution Pension
A defined contribution pension plan is similar to a defined benefit plan in that it is fully funded by the employer and the contribution amount is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Unlike a defined benefit plan, however, all contributions are deposited into an individual account and are invested according to the specific plan. Upon retirement, you typically have the option of receiving a lump-sum amount equal to the total of all contributions and investment earnings, or withdrawing a set amount, similar to a 401(k) plan. It's important to note that employees do not have the option of contributing to the defined contribution pension plan - it is only funded by the employer.
National Electrical Annuity Plan (NEAP)
The National Electrical Annuity Plan (NEAP) is an individual retirement account that is fully funded by the employer, and the contribution amount is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement of the local. This plan is only available to workers covered under a bargaining agreement in District 10, which includes Arkansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The NEAP is similar to a defined contribution benefit as the funds are invested and a lump-sum amount is offered at the time of retirement. However, it's important to note that employees cannot make contributions to the NEAP - it is only funded by the employer.
Healthcare Benefits
Each local union offers healthcare benefits for its members. These can include medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage, as well as coverage for mental health services and treatments. The specific terms of the healthcare benefits (services covered, out-of-pocket costs, amount of coverage provided) depend on the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and will vary from local to local. In most cases, members' medical benefits will cover you, your spouse, and all dependents at no additional cost.
Each employee contributes a certain dollar amount per hour worked into their health and welfare fund (this is not taken out of your paycheck). If the dollar amount meets the minimum for the month, you will receive full coverage at no cost. If you work part-time and fall short, however, you will be required to pay the difference to maintain coverage.
For example, if your healthcare cost is $800 and your contribution rate is $10 an hour, you only need to work 80 hours a month to meet this requirement. If you only work 75 hours, on the other hand, you would only have contributed $750 and will owe $50 out of pocket to maintain coverage.
If you work full-time during the month and work 160 hours, you would have worked twice the amount of hours required for coverage. That doesn’t mean your contributions went to waste. The surplus 80 hours, in most locals, would be "banked" and can be used to cover any months where you haven’t met the required minimum.
Keep in mind that every local runs their pensions and medical benefits independently, so it's essential to read through your CBA and communicate with the health and welfare department to fully understand your benefits. The numbers used in this explanation are just examples and may not reflect the benefits you will receive through your local.
To see a crowdsourced list of contribution amounts for healthcare and benefits for each local, visit http://unionpayscales.com. It's always good to be informed and aware of the benefits that you're entitled to, so check with your local union representative or the health and welfare department for more accurate and detailed information. — [PART 2 IN THE COMMENTS]

2024.04.29 18:04 Willing-Leg951 2008 Outback AT Oil Temp light flashing upon starting engine, transmission replaced 3 years ago

I bought our 2008 Outback (2.5L, now 203,000 miles) about 4 years ago in a pinch when my husband and I were stranded away from home. Not knowing too much about cars we bought it unaware that the transmission was slipping. We took it to a local transmission mechanic who replaced it, but he said the valve body was on back order for upwards of a year. He asked if we wanted to pay for it upfront and that when it came in he would call us replace it, so we agreed. He told us that since he couldn't replace it that we should redline it occasionally. Fast forward a year and a couple months later and no word from the mechanic, so I give him a call, receipt in hand. He goes on to say that we had no such agreement, he never ordered the valve body, and that his warranty only spans one year (despite the fact that he never completed the job or even gave us the part). I looked back at the receipt and he had a very vauge note about replacing the valve body at a later date. He didn't have anything itemized, just a flat charge of $2000. I tried to debate with him over the language on the receipt only to be hung up on several times, so I never was able to get any resolution.
A few days ago I was driving home, after the car had been sitting for a couple of hours, when the AT Oil Temp light starts flashing. Luckily I was near a friend's house, so I was able to pull it over immediately and park it to take a look. We let the car cool for a while then started it up again. It only took about a minute for the light to start flashing again, enging not even warm yet. We haven't been experiencing and slipping or knocking, fluid looks clean.
After asking a few friends who know a bit about mechanics, they said it could be the valve body needing cleaned/replaced. I only just remembered that the transmission mechanic said to redline it occasionally, which we haven't done at all. My question is, if the engine isn't even warmed up, could the fluid really be getting that hot that quickly, or is it maybe a sensofilter gone bad? Should I try to redline it to clear it out, or is that a big risk considering? If the valve body does need manually cleaned or replaced, is it in an accessible spot to reach fairly simply?
Thanks to anyone interested.

Is this a bad wheel bearing?
In the process of replacing a broken wheel stud on my cheap 2000 XJ. I’m currently waiting for some penetrating oil to loosen up the rotor so I can hopefully replace a stud without disassembling the whole arm. I noticed a decent amount of play when pressing on the rotor. Don’t have much experience in this area and was wondering if this is too much play. The Jeep is still pretty new to me and it does have some pretty bad vibrations above 40mph, but not nearly as bad as the “death wobble” I’ve seen in videos. It’s definitely linked to speed and not engine RPM or transmission gear, so I figure it was probably wheel, or maybe a bent/unbalanced axle or driveshaft if I’m really unlucky. It would be nice if it was as simple as a couple wheel bearings. What do you guys think?
Also, here’s a link to a video on YouTube if my attempt to post it above doesn’t work (never posted a video on Reddit before). I noticed there is play where the u-joint connects to the axle housing as well which you can see in the video

Exploring The Ingredients Of CerebroZen Drops

The proprietary blend of CerebroZen dietary supplement incorporates natural plants, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to offer optimal hearing support. The following are some of the top active ingredients.
GABA
This CerebroZen ingredient is a neurotransmitter that plays a crucial role in regulating brain activity. Besides auditory clarity, it provides mental clarity as well. GABA can regulate brain activity and provide calmness and enhanced focus. It will also help to reduce neural excitability which can help to protect the auditory system from damage caused by loud noises and age-related degenerative processes.
Vinpocetine
Vinpocetine is a compound derived from the periwinkle plant. The primary function of the compound is to improve cognitive function and regulate blood flow. However, recent studies have shown that vinpocetine helps to improve microcirculation in the inner ear which can help to support healthy hearing. The antioxidant properties of the compound can also protect the inner ear from damage caused by oxidative stress.
Lion’s Mane Powder
This ingredient in CerebroZen ear health support formulais derived from lion’s mane mushroom also known as hericium erinaceus. It has anti-inflammatory and nerve regeneration properties. The nerve regeneration ability of the lion’s mane powder supports the regeneration of the inner ear nerves and improves the transmission of signals from the inner ear to the brain.
Alpha GPC
Alpha GPC is a natural compound that can support cognitive function. Some research suggests that alpha-GPC has neuroprotective properties that can help protect the auditory nerve and cochlea from oxidative stress, inflammation, and degeneration.
Magnesium Citrate
Magnesium is an essential mineral and magnesium deficiency can lead to an increased risk of hearing loss in older adults. This ingredient plays a crucial role in the maintenance of hair cells in the inner ear. It can also offer protection against noise-induced hearing loss.

In fact it is for this uncertain technology upgrade strategy this is intended to fund, to allow for business certainty in the US and globally, while being able to say we’re doing enough to mitigate the risk. This investment is necessary for the United States to keep up, as it has fallen behind in per capita infrastructure spend and it shows Much of the system was built in the 50’s or before and lightly added to since. Union Station in DC was a Teddy Roosevelt era build- 1905

High yield - at 7% is the plan, to lead with making investing in shared infrastructure something that not only paid off as a good investment but produced changes in places you visit and see with the money you saved or worked hard for.
This would raise interest rates globally so I have some flexibility on this point. It also makes the payback considerable over the 7 years,
Economics of scale, in physics and in monetary economics it works the same- to get it done big, relatively cheap, going big, and going near breakneck speed is best, with the caveat* that you still need to go big with something that works on a lot of levels so you want to have tested through the relevant technologies.
That’s my derivation, but it stems from the traditional view of the economics of scale, and fits the actions of the most successful builders in human history, imparting the expected and usually honored tradition of governments to build roads- the Romans. And build they did- to last, to say they don’t build them like they used to, well, to last 2000 years, yeah, that’s a safe statement. They had their armies build and they went en mass doing multi-year projects with many thousands of men, that are used today in places far outside Italy. This is the idea here as well
To build any widgets, the cost per unit goes down as people, and the machines they build get better. While the cost of replacing water, data, energy, waste, goods and human movement infrastructure sounds expensive, and it is, it is obviously simpler and cheaper than doing each one piecemeal, like 10x or more cheaper
It is the reason for the multi phase- I’ve been calling 2 Phase, but the budget defined for a minimum of two years will certainly develop and require adjustments for the 2nd year, which will hopefully provide enough insight to plan the rest of the work, what, how, how long, and how much needs to be done to finish a broad upgrade of the remaining 75- 85% of United States, or do we exceed expectations, set at a level to allow such a thing, meaning we can do it!!! Also, the Obama Stimulus and the Biden IRA/Infrastructure bills should really be mile stone phases of existing progress on similar scales and leading to this.
hough you have to work out a bit, train, and test some big things, so when you go full speed on building it is sure, and a huge upgrade on technology, and built to last. So two phases huge for now in goals but less than half the total, to ramp up, select best technologies, and utilize the “laboratory of the States, including defense engineers as engineers will be in short supply, scholarships for energy research for those with bachelors and work on the job/learn science/ energycraft jobs by the thousands, and even expressing math problems in practical problems in math classes at all levels, as well as funding for energy and 7 Trillion for this one
If we liken government infrastructure to normal asset investment costs, more than reasonable that's what they are- investment of 4% annually are expected, of total revenues. Even if we did state and federal - think it'd be on the order of on average- I think it is best to do big cycles then bridge- of near 100 billion a year, every year, or about the current 'milestone' of the so called Bi Partisan Infrastructure law, voted on by a few Republicans(it is the largest investment since the Great Depression in US infrastructure) but is really only near to what we should have been spending almost every year, to maintain, let alone grow, which we have. So we are long overdue, with much of our major infrastructure essentially ceased since the 1950’s as well as space exploration, well below also actually what is practical financial sense to invest in logistical systems and environments humans live in.

3. Science, engineering and Counter-geoengineering

Putting 30+ pounds (15 Kilos) of CO2 per person in the developed world is already massive geoengineering. These are calculations that can verified, and should be verified by your Country’s oil production divided by its people, and the kiddos should know that math, and we should prove it in front of Congress. OOOOH me, me I have the experiment I wish to mostly replicate with maybe some flair to demonstrate CO2’s warming effect people can do in their homes and we have a talk about the numbers, because most people are stumped to hear or think about how much that is - the US burns 19 million barrels of oil per DAY. the barrels stack ed would be larger than the Capitol building I think. Every day? I am certain this is usually a shock to people and change their perspective before even getting to the fact that CO2 warms. So there are some core facts that are both more effective and critical to the discussion, and what those are should be matters of some discussion. Here and in other places I try to compile these in broadly understandable terms, walking smart people through land mine political orientations with the items they understand better than most of the climate concerned, but in different ways. Thats the theory we are testing anyway.
Other 2023 rankings included...
For more regional details and 2023 climate statistics, see the 2023 Global Climate Report from NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information.
Climate lag- the delay between emissions and actual warming, with estimates ranging between 0, 40 and 60 years, hangs over this all, and while the need must be - to look like we take this seriously, we must achieve a sizeable emissions cut as soon as possible, and plans for at least a quarter, and possibly 2 consecutive at deep cuts 50% to have a hope of answering that question.
But, it does require us to look for additional ways to minimize the energy imbalance and figure out what our best options are, that minimize the imbalance.
This means trying many things, several times to see what works and what can be scaled up cheaply, because of course the actions taken will have to be massive in scale. Every fix has its own potential risk. Something I acknowledge my own attention to, and will focus energy on is soil- as well as plant and bacterial energy cycles, animal too, for possible scalable solutions I have been some what remiss in.
My recent proposed actions are based in part and fit in part to the work of Dr. Hansen’s lab, as he is an OG of the Climate Movement and Action- testifying before Congress, and is proven his calculations correct. I agree with all of his findings based on my knowledge of the assumptions, and shortcomings of the current modeling paradigm, and the conclusions that research counter geoengineering is
A short bit about him here.

And the man himself- as well as his comparisons to the Venus atmosphere I didn’t know he was involved in.
James Hansen: Why I must speak out about climate change (youtube.com)
Some of my conclusions and interpretations may turn out to be somewhat different, but correct in principle and conclusion, on the order of magnitude, and the actions recommended will stand, but also need updating to include the Polar treaty specifications
Analysis and next steps based on Dr. James Hansens’ most recent paper, Global Warming in the Pipeline
http://www.columbia.edu/\~jeh1/Documents/PipelinePaper.2023.05.19.pdf
in which he lays out a 100-year gap between emissions and warming, -in the Pipeline means we and an expectation for the warming to double in speed, until eventually reaching 10 degrees C, or 18 F degrees hotter on average day.
Improved knowledge of glacial-to-interglacial global temperature change implies that fast-feedback equilibrium climate sensitivity is at least ∼4°C for doubled CO2 (2×CO2), with a likely range of 3.5-5.5°C.
Greenhouse gas (GHG) climate forcing is 4.1 W/m2 larger in 2021 than in 1750, equivalent to 2%times$CO2 forcing. Global warming in the pipeline is greater than prior estimates. Eventual global warming due to today's GHG forcing alone — after slow feedbacks operate — is about 10°C. Human-made aerosols are a major climate forcing, mainly via their effect on clouds. We infer from paleoclimate data that aerosol cooling offset GHG warming for several millennia as civilization developed. A hinge-point in global warming occurred in 1970 as increased GHG warming outpaced aerosol cooling, leading to global warming of 0.18°C per decade. Aerosol cooling is larger than estimated in the current IPCC report, but it has declined since 2010 because of aerosol reductions in China and shipping. Without unprecedented global actions to reduce GHG growth, 2010 could be another hinge point, with global warming in the following decades 50-100% greater than in the prior 40 years. The enormity of the consequences of warming in the pipeline demands a new approach to addressing legacy and future emissions. The essential requirement to "save" young people and future generations is to return to Holocene-level global temperature.
Dr. Hansen’s top-line goals:
1) a global increasing price on GHG emissions
2) East-West cooperation in a way that accommodates developing world needs,
3) intervention with Earth’s radiation imbalance to phase down today’s massive human-made “geo-transformation”
of Earth’s climate.
ECS- Equilibrium Climate Sensitivity is the projected eventual rise in global temperature
As of today
  1. 10 degrees - 18 F is the projected eventual rise in global temperature based on emissions already in the pipeline when lag factors catch up by the Hansen/Columbia team, which differs significantly from the IPCC’s estimates
  2. 4-6 degrees C 11 degrees F is the projected eventual rise in global temperature when lag factors catch up by the IPCC team
  3. 40 years is the IPCC, as well as Exxon’s estimate of the length of time it takes for CO2 emitted today to fully impact the heating of the earth
  4. 100 years, is how long the full effects of emissions take to fully kick- in Hansen’s paper
  5. And this is the primary cause of the Hansen team’s temperature difference from the IPCC’s
  6. Cutting carbon emissions May take decades to slow warming.
Conclusion: Cutting carbon emissions is essential then but far and away not enough to be able to slow what’s been started.
Energy reflection layering is necessary to counteract previous emissions.
SRM Solar Radiation Management is priority 1, especially as it is by definition going to have to cover large areas.
There are many forms, especially biological, with similar or even greater caution, and promise as the “harder”energy techniques to capture and utilize solar energy, and process carbon, and we must understand maximize and implement projects

Questions

Does this mean we effectively feel the effects of Kennedy or Clinton era warming for fast feedback?
Are we able to measure the increase in solar radiation absorbed directly, from readings at a single point?

***Three ideas for focused groups to provide reports on

  1. Produce separate options on a model of near-term effects of geoengineering, at different engagement levels and cross-use, pros and cons including environmental impact:
  2. Land Artificial snow distribution on ice, at the poles on the temperature of the water, and what the minimum intervention to see a result would be. Test out weighted on square corners insulative airtight tarps tested in thick and thin to cover areas and possibly form
B. Water artificial ice layers in the water, buoyant and resistant to salt water, large Due to sheer quantity on site or near on-site manufacturing facilities on land near the sea for processing to sun-shield materials
C. Air airborne layering of reflective, CONTRAILS
Undoing recent boat fuel standards limiting reflective components (sulfides?) in diesel. Proposing dirtying along existing shipping and fuel routes, which seem to be warming possibly as a result of reduced reflections in fuel burnt
  1. Mapping polar coastal regions and maximizing
(Workforce projections, cost and time)
Mapping polar regions with large teams on foot, cataloging life and conditions, and maximizing snow-like cover.
Underwater and seismic mappings for all polar areas. Cap and cover methane sources. Which areas to begin: as much as can be mapped without international incident- we can start without the Russians but cannot finish.
  1. Build a material-accurate reference scale model of the earth. It will probably require a new version which should begin construction within 3-6 months of the operation of the first.
  2. Boat and submarine mapping of methane leaks, methyl clathrate deposits and thermally anomalous regions, and as much polar coast as possible, which involves Russia, though Antarctica, Alaska, and Canada are available to build the template operations for while the other situation remains tense. In any case, this will be more than enough work in the short term to solidify the models, and help from other bodies should be considered.
Get more data on locations and volumes of methyl clathrates
  1. Increase by a factor of not less than 10 a network of methane and CO2 sensors capable of detecting changes broadly to Arctic and methyl clathrate zone emissions

2024.04.27 19:42 No-Box-1528 My experience with 49cc 4t kits

After quite a few 4t and 2t kits have passed through my hands, I decided to make a short guide for 49cc 4-stroke, because I see that 2t is mostly talked about in this sub, and a lot of people are interested in 49cc 4t.
Let's first look at what 2t and 4t are:
With a 2t there is no oil in the engine and it is added to the fuel, there are no valves, no camshafts, etc. these are extremely simple engines and they have not changed much in the last 100 years and compared to the 4t they have a higher efficiency for the simple reason that each the second stroke of the piston is working, which distinguishes these engines with high power and high operating revolutions, although the Chinese ladies from the box without modifications do not develop the revolutions of a typical 2t engine.
On the other hand, 4t engines are lubricated with oil that sits in the crankcase and have lower and smoother revolutions as well as greater torque with the same working volume and power than 2t engines 49cc 4t is praised as a very reliable engine out of the box and is completely so out of at least twenty 4t kits installed so far I haven't had a serious problem with any of them and some have already gone over 20,000 miles with only regular oil and air filter changes compared to the 2t (49cc,66cc,80cc,100cc) where no modifications and painstaking disassembly lubrication and reassembly with nice parts every 3rd engine has serious problems after 500 miles on average so this makes the 49cc 4t a very suitable kit for people who don't have the technical skills and don't want to get their hands dirty and is the ideal friend for daily work compared to 2t according to my experience 49cc 4t is stronger in low compared to 49cc and 66cc and with 80cc they are equal but here we are only talking about engines from the box without any modifications 2t is very amenable to tuning after which it can become extremely powerful in comparison 49cc 4t are not so amenable to modifications and it is difficult to squeeze extra power out of them.
According to my experience, the pluses end here, as we summarized, this is a Chinese copy of a very reliable Honda garden engine built into lawnmowers and other equipment, but the serious shortcomings are with the clutch and the gearbox.
The clutch in most cases does not work as it should from the factory, in which case a replacement is needed for proper operation, due to its small size, the clutch often wears out quickly and there is slippage at cruising speed, so it is good to drive these engines at a higher speed in order to avoid slippage which further wears out the clutch hills are also the enemy of this type of clutch on average every 2000 miles these engines need a new clutch this is less than what the 2t kits clutch lasts (this also depends on rider weight).
The other serious drawback is the gearboxes, and they are of 3 types:
Single chain gearbox it consists of one thin chain which often stretches or even short/falls especially under load on hills the life of these gearboxes is short and they don't last more than 6000 miles of flat terrain or no more than 3000 miles of hills unfortunately there is no inside tensioner and the chain cannot be tensioned, for pity, then it needs to be replaced with a new one, this is the worst box for 4t.
Double chain gearbox this box works with the help of a double chain which withstands greater loads resulting in longer life this makes it suitable for heavy people and hilly areas even if the chain is stretched the box allows it to be tightened also this box offers a large gear ratio that gives more torque output overall this is a pretty solid box but rarely comes in 49 kits and has to be bought separately
And the last one is a belt gearbox, it consists of a toothed belt with a large transmission ratio, as this is the box that gives the highest torque of all gearboxes, in general, the box is almost silent and the belt often lasts longer than the single-chain box, but it as well the double chain box can be tensioned this is also an extremely reliable box suitable for hills according to most experts but in my opinion this box has very serious flaws and they are that there is no hermetic cover, only a plastic one and this allows water, stones and dust to enter the belt, which wears it out even more and even leads to its breaking, as well as the fact that the clutch bell bearing is a bronze sleeve which, if not lubricated, wears out easily, so in my opinion the double box is the best of all if you are not looking for huge torque and quiet work
In general, the 49cc 4t has advantages but also major disadvantages, and as someone who hated the 2t after I tried the 4t and the experience with them, I think that the 2t is the lesser evil as they say and can be made just as reliable with more power, but it is not the most suitable for everyday work, I apologize if there are spelling mistakes, the language is not my native language.

2024.04.27 15:19 Adventurous_Poet_315 It All Finally Adds Up For Me: Endless Summer

ATTENTION: HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD. If you haven't read the series, please skip that post. It contains spoilers from all the 3 books.
After reading ES for like 20 times, I've finally realised the following:
So we know in ES how the last chapters of Book 2 shows the literal end of the world with the magma everywhere right? But as we can recall, this apocalypse has been ongoing since the group landed on La Huerta as the world was covered in lava, the island alone stayed safe. The storm through which they flew in was them entering the protection bubble at the exact moment Mount Atropo erupted and plunged the world in the prehistoric era. That, we know at least.
An interesting observation I've made now is that the constellations seen by MC and Sean in the Observatory is a reflection of the ones formerly visible at a time when the crust was still cooling; when the earth was being formed. So, they weren't seeing a projection but rather the real sky above their heads as it was billions of years ago and that is why in the last chapter of book 1, those ancient constellations are being referenced as the key to finding Rourke's password. That is because there is no longer any other constellations as the ones we know are now lost with the apocalypse. The sky has thus always been like this, despite their desire to go back to their own country, they were still living in the end of times and book 1 just depicts that there is no way they can go back to that former world. They have always been living in the apocalypse, they just didn't know it. The radio transmissions they heard were from the present, not the future.
La Huerta itself is a massive concentration of energy that can destruct the whole world. This concentration, reaching a climax through Mount Atropo, thus entailed that catastrophic eruption which was a gigantic burst of energy which altered time and space. The crystals are just small sources of that energy which is the very essence of the island and it caused the world's doom through the eruption.
There is another theory that's about the Endless. Given that they landed multiple times on the island which is stuck in a time loop, the 2000+ times she had been resetting that time loop led her to do that until the end of the world. There's a theory that the world hasn't actually ended the day they came on La Huerta, like the very first time they arrived, out of the time loop. This is why it is mentioned that the cycle is broken; the start of chapter 1 is actually the last time The Endless has brought them back in time to save them as the world has already ended. Taking them back in time one more time would be physically impossible as Hartfeld would already be on fire.
So, it's very likely possible that the Endless created several versions of MC who have all died while only he/she has remained alive with the time crystals. If we analyse that correctly, we would see that The Endless did exactly what Rourke did in terms of exploiting the use of the glowing crystals-- she has harnessed them over and over again to save our friends.
And my guess is that The Endless found out about the crystals on the day they went to search for the shelter in Chapter 2 or 3. It is mentioned that all of them died during the first time, that is what we can see through the Andromeda amber idol as she is burying them. As she has been walking in the rainforest, she must have them discovered those "glowing flowers, sizzling with radiation" which could actually be the formation of the crystals on the island. This is how she learned to reset the time and create her armour based on that substance to resist the effect of the time loops she's creating until the end of times and until the new version of themself get all the choices right.
He/She was then unaware that he/she was using the Island's power and spirit, just like Rourke was. This is what weakened the Island's heart, which conserved the soul of Vaanu. That is why MC is the missing piece as he/she is the embodiment of that power that created him/her. In reality, this same spirit is what possessed Quinn, it was Vaanu all along who's been residing in her. When in the last chapter of Book 2, she let out that energy while in Jake's helicopter towards Arachnid, she had actually forced out Vaanu's spirit out of her. Hence, this is why she no longer feels the connection to the island's spirit afterwards, and why they start physically seeing Vaanu in an ethereal form in book 3 as he was no longer possessing Quinn. He feels drawn to help our friends and thus reflects MC's purpose in life: to help all of them. Because MC could only bring back the way it was by fusing with Vaanu, and that choice can only be made when he/she would have finally developped an unconditional love and affection towards all of them.
Rourke's password reflects this perspective that everything does add up. In fact, he's the true mastermind behind everything. He knew the true power of La Huerta, the inevitability of the world ending and the time loops issue which would be put in place by The Endless, hence why he went into that pod. Since he needed MC's power to activate Project Janus, that is why he waited and waited till the end of the world for their arrival, for all the 2000 time loops to happen and for the cycle to be broken. His password mirrors the stance we'll develop at the end of the series, that we would see everything making sense and after 4 years of reading ES 4-5 times per year, it finally does.
And let me conclude by saying that those who wrote that masterpiece are absolute geniuses. Such a complex storyline can only be 100% understood after reading it numerous times, over and over again while learning something new each time. PB really outdid itself with such a chef-d'œuvre which is worth a television series ❤️

2024.04.24 16:05 ForceProper1669 Max seeds?

I am struggling with seeding as much as I’d like.. I currently run a 20tb seedbox (mostly dedicated to ptp, and tvv). I’m using 2 different clients on it(deluge and rbit). Both seem to lag a lot when I hit around 1000. I have a Linux server with 684tb at home which I run deluge on (also have about 1000) - I feel like I could increase that up to 2000 ish. A Mac mini with transmission running about 1500 (mostly MaM /cg) I have a Mac ultra with qbittorrent and have about 2500 on there. Problem is, I regularly download over 200 torrents per day. About 100 movies, 100ish complete tv packs. I have the hd space issue relatively figured out (can hard link on Linux server), but am struggling finding ways to not have to clear torrents out- as the clients themselves bottle neck around 1000-3000 torrents each. I’d love to be able to permanently seed 100,000+ files, but I seem to be limited to like less than 10,000 spread between several clients. Does anyone have any experience with seeding crazy amounts of files? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. P.s. at home I have 1g fiber up/down

2024.04.22 01:57 coonell_da_communist E30 Intermittent no starts without cranking

So about 2 years ago, I bought an e30 from someone who had done a m50 swap on it. It was a pretty sketchy swap, missing transmission mounts, sensors and wires that weren't plugged into anything, and all sorts of other weird things. At the time, I didn't care, I just wanted an e30, but now it's becoming a total pain because it will randomly no start for no apparent reason.
History:
December 2022- A new starter and battery were put in. This did solve the problem temporarily making it start almost every time for about a month then it returned to intermittent starting.
January 2023- Not long after, I realized that the trunk was leaking and that water was pooling in the battery tray in the back, the battery would have been sitting directly in the water for some unknown amount of time.
May 2023- I took the car to another shop that didn't do the starter and battery and they claimed that it needed a new starter which I thought was ridiculous because it had just been replaced elsewhere.
June 2023- Replaced the clutch and flywheel + rear main as well as a new rad, hoses, and coolant.
The main issue is this: I will wake up in the morning, go to start my car and 9 times out of 10 it will start right up in the morning (with the battery having been connected all night). I will drive to work, leave the car for around 4 ish hours then usually when I leave the car will start... usually. Then say I'm driving around and I stop for gas, fill up, and then it will no crank at the pump. It will typically make 1 clunk noise as I turn the key then nothing. When I let the key fall back to the on position it will make another clunk noise (sorry for lack of better explanation). It almost sounds as if the starter is engaging, trying to turn the flywheel, but can't get it to turn. I will then have to bump start the car which works every single time and will always start the car. Other times I can get gas and start the car just fine though. It is totally random to me when It will and won't start. It does seem that, for the most part, if I unplug the battery over night, come back to it the very next day and try to start it, it will almost always turn on just fine.
I'll also add this, even though it is probably unrelated, the car's rpm surge at idle. The car will idle nicely, then very slowly it will rev a bit, then drop, rev higher and the drop again, and then eventually it will surge all the way to like 2000 rpm from idle then settle off finally. After the big surge up to 2k, it will fall back down to a regular idle for something like 10- 15 seconds before starting the process over again. I had a BMW specific mechanic, not a dealership, look at it and replace a vacuum hose which solved the problem for a while before it returned again. This is just a random side note, it doesn't effect the driving as far as I'm concerned.
Please feel free to ask any other questions, I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer. I'm not really mechanically inclined enough to start trouble shooting on my own so even a point in some direction would be awesome.
Thanks so much for reading!

2024.04.21 17:30 IPAle Frequency interference question

My company has a receiver operating in the VHF AM band which is experiencing some interference from a transmitter which is about 500 kHz higher in frequency from ours. The interfering transmitter is located 2000-3000 feet away from ours and transmits a constant message. Whenever a transmission occurs on our frequency, I can hear the other transmitter quite clearly along with the desired transmission. But it does not have the power to break squelch on it's own. When I take a handheld radio towards the offending transmitter, set to my frequency, the offender breaks squelch when I'm working a few hundred feet. So it seems their transmitter is splattering the band.
So the question is this. Is transmitter filtering the best option for remediation of this? What other options do I have on the receive side?

As an avid user of heavy machinery, I was thrilled to try out this BlueDevil Hydraulic Stop Leak. I had been replacing seals and gaskets more often than I'd like, and this product has been a lifesaver.
Its ability to seal minor leaks is superb. I was skeptical at first, thinking it's just another product that promises a lot but delivers little. But boy, was I wrong! I just had to add it to my hydraulic system, and within no time, it began working its magic.
One thing that stood out for me was how well it sealed the leaks. Not only did it fix the immediate problem, but it also prevented new leaks from forming. This is a massive relief, considering how expensive and time-consuming leak repairs can be.
However, one downside I noticed was that it doesn't seem to work as effectively on older machines. It's not a deal-breaker for me, but it's worth considering if you're dealing with an older piece of machinery.
Overall, the BlueDevil Hydraulic Stop Leak has made my life easier. It's a reliable product that's worthy of your attention if you're dealing with hydraulic leaks.

I recently tried the Blue Magic 1116 Liquid Glass Metallic Seal-Up and I must say, it has been quite a game changer for my cooling system. The liquid glass and copper formula is not only effective but also environmentally friendly, which is always a plus in my book.
One of the most impressive features of this product is its ability to withstand extreme temperatures. Whether you're dealing with blistering heat or freezing cold, the seal formed by this sealer can handle up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, making it a reliable companion in all weather conditions.
Another highlight worth mentioning is how easy it is to apply. The instructions are straightforward and the seal-up process requires very little effort. It's quite satisfying to see how quickly and effectively it blocks any leaks, saving you from potential engine damage and costly repairs.
However, one downside worth mentioning is that the product doesn't have the best smell. But given its effectiveness and eco-friendliness, it's a small price to pay for peace of mind knowing your cooling system is in good hands.
Overall, this product has been a lifesaver for my vehicle. Its ability to create a permanent copper-ceramic seal withstanding temperatures up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit truly makes it stand out from other sealers I've tried in the past. It's definitely a worthwhile investment if you're looking to improve your vehicle's performance and extend its lifespan.

When my son's favorite inflatable pool toy sprang a leak, I was ready to throw it away until I stumbled upon the Blue Devil Vinyl Repair Kit. After some research, I found that this kit can work underwater, so there wasn't a need to empty out the pool.
The kit came with a 5-7/8 x 12 inch vinyl patch, a tube of No. 100 adhesive to apply the patch, and three smaller vinyl patches for additional repair needs. What really stood out to me was how easy it was to use. I simply applied the adhesive, placed the patch, and voila! The toy was as good as new.
However, the one downside I encountered was that the adhesive didn't seem to hold as well on a particularly rough patch on the toy. But overall, for my vinyl pool liner and pool toys, this repair kit has been a game-changer. Now, I can save my favorite pool toys from the dreaded trash bin.

As a car enthusiast, I had my fair share of engine issues, but when my head gasket blew, I was in for a real treat. I tried everything from DIY fixes to expensive shop visits, but nothing seemed to work. Then I came across K-Seal Permanent Head Gasket & Block Repair, and it was a game changer. This unique formula not only restored my faith in engine repair kits but also saved me a fortune on expensive repairs.
Its "Just Pour & Go" feature was a lifesaver. No need to drain or flush my cooling system, and it was compatible with any kind of antifreeze or coolant I'd used previously. All I had to do was shake the bottle, pour K-Seal ULTIMATE into my cooling system, and within no time, my engine was back to its old self.
However, I did notice that the product's consistency was a bit thicker than expected, making it difficult to pour into the coolant system. But, that was a small price to pay for a permanent fix.
Overall, K-Seal Permanent Head Gasket & Block Repair is a must-have for any car owner. Its quick and easy application, compatibility with all water-cooled engines, and permanent repair guarantees make it an absolute lifesaver. As an avid car enthusiast, I recently decided to give DB Electrical's 49276 Dynatex Blue RTV Silicone Gasket Maker a try. I had been battling a few pesky leaks in my truck, and all the other gasket sealers I had used didn't seem to get the job done. I must say, this Dynatex Blue has lived up to its reputation as a reliable and effective gasket maker.
One of the standout features of this product is its vibrant blue color. Not only does it make it easy to spot and apply exactly where I need it, but it also gives me the peace of mind knowing I've got a professional-grade sealant protecting my engine. The Dynatex Blue has an excellent grip that sets quickly without losing its flexibility, which has been a lifesaver for some tricky areas in my truck's engine that required a durable and resilient seal.
However, there’s always room for improvement. Some users might find the strong odor of silicone quite displeasing, so I recommend using this product in a well-ventilated area and wearing gloves to avoid skin irritation. Additionally, I would have appreciated a more precise application method to ensure an even and consistent seal throughout.
In conclusion, the DB Electrical Dynatex Blue RTV Silicone Gasket Maker has made my engine leak issues a thing of the past. Once upon a time, my trusty old car started giving me some trouble. Specifically, it developed a pesky leak in the power steering system. I knew it was time to take action, so I decided to give the Blue Devil 00232 8 oz Power Steering Stop Leak a shot.
I have to say, this little bottle of liquid magic has been a game-changer. It's safe and easy to use - just pour a third of the bottle into the reservoir, and watch as the problems disappear.
The only downside is that it doesn't work on electric power steering systems, but that's a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. Overall, I highly recommend the Blue Devil 00232 8 oz Power Steering Stop Leak for anyone looking to save their vehicle from costly repairs.
In my experience, it's a great solution for problems with power steering, axle cases, gearboxes, and differentials. Give it a try and see for yourself!

I was in quite a fix when my car's gasket started leaking, causing a significant drop in the engine's performance. After trying a few products without success, I stumbled upon Gasgacinch Gasket Sealer and Belt Dressing. It was a game-changer, to say the least.
The first thing that stood out was its professional quality. It's clear that the makers of this product understood what they were doing, and it shows in the high performance of this sealer. It creates an impenetrable seal that's capable of withstanding high heat, gasoline, and oil, making it a versatile solution for many engine issues.
One of the features I loved most was its fluidity. Unlike some competitors whose thick formula made it difficult for them to fill in the small gaps between metal surfaces, Gasgacinch is fluid enough to seep into those spaces and create a leak-free seal. Plus, its ability to remain flexible makes it easier to assemble and disassemble parts of the engine or transmission.
Another advantage was its cleaning properties. Unlike other sealants which require strong solvents or sharp tools to remove, Gasgacinch can be wiped off easily, leaving no residue behind.
However, there is one downside to this product. Its high-quality performance comes at a premium price, which might be a deterrent for budget-conscious mechanic enthusiasts. But considering its exceptional performance and unmatched versatility, I believe the investment is worth it.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a high-quality, high-performance gasket sealer that delivers professional results and stands the test of time, look no further than Gasgacinch Gasket Sealer and Belt Dressing.

As an avid DIYer, I've tried my fair share of emergency repair products. However, when it comes to sealing up gaskets on the fly, nothing beats Permatex 51813. This stuff is like a lifesaver in a bottle - it's ideal for those unexpected repairs when a regular gasket just isn't available.
One of the most standout features of this gasket maker is its ability to cure into a solvent-resistant seal that won't decay or tear over time, even after extended use. As someone who's been working on my car's engine, I can attest to this! Plus, remnants of old gaskets can be removed in mere minutes using a putty knife, making future repairs a breeze.
However, don't be fooled by its name; the product packaging itself can be a little bit tricky to open initially, but once you've cracked the seal, it's smooth sailing from there! Just be sure to keep it stored properly for future use because it's definitely one of those products worth keeping around the garage or workshop.
In conclusion, if you're in need of a reliable and efficient anaerobic gasket maker, look no further than Permatex 51813 - it's truly a game-changer for on-the-spot repairs and emergency situations.

I recently got the opportunity to use J-B Weld Sealant Silicone Blue RTV 3oz 31316, and boy, has it made a difference in my DIY projects! As someone who loves tinkering with mechanical assemblies, this silicone gasket maker has been a game-changer. The vibrant blue color not only adds a pop of fun to my workbench but also assures me that I'm using a high-quality product.
One of the standout features of this sealant is its sensor-safe formulation. It's fantastic to have peace of mind knowing that it won't harm any electronic sensors in my vehicle. This attribute has made my automotive repair adventures much more enjoyable, as I no longer have to worry about causing damage to my vehicle's sensitive components.
Another fantastic thing about this sealant is its versatility. I've used it to seal timing gear covers, transmission and oil pans, water pumps, and a whole host of other parts. The ability to bond uneven surfaces has proven invaluable, saving me time and preventing future leaks.
However, there is one small issue that I've encountered. The sealant tends to take a while to cure completely. While it sets in just an hour, it can be quite frustrating to have to wait 24 hours for a full cure. Nevertheless, the durability and strength of the seal it creates make the waiting time worth it.
So, if you're a DIY enthusiast or a professional mechanic in search of a reliable and versatile sealant, J-B Weld Sealant Silicone Blue RTV 3oz 31316 is definitely worth considering. Its sensor-safe formulation, versatility, and tough, waterproof seal make it a trusty companion for various automotive applications.

When I got that ominous "check engine" light on my dashboard during a road trip, I knew I needed a quick fix. That's when I came across BlueDevil Head Gasket Repair, and I'm so glad I did. It's a real game-changer!
The Pour-N-Go formula is super easy to use - just pour it in your radiator, and it starts working its magic right away to seal any head gasket leaks. It's compatible with any type of antifreeze, which is a huge plus since I use a mix of different fluids.
One thing that really stood out for me was how versatile this product is. Not only does it fix head gasket leaks, but it can also repair warped or cracked heads, heater cores, and freeze plugs. And the best part? It contains no solid or fibrous materials, so I don't have to worry about clogging or damaging my engine.
However, there are two minor issues I found with it. Firstly, the product's 16 fl oz bottle isn't enough to cover some large cylinder vehicles, so I had to buy an extra bottle. Secondly, although it fixed my problem, the repair wasn't permanent, and I started noticing the same issues after a few months.
Overall, I would recommend BlueDevil Head Gasket Repair for anyone looking for a quick, easy, and effective fix for common cooling system problems. But be prepared to make periodic repairs if the issue returns.

This nifty little product stood out to me because it's not just another gasket sealer. It uses advanced chemistry to form a permanent seal on both plastic and metal radiators, which was exactly what my car needed. The highlight of this sealer's performance is its ability to work on different types of radiator materials - plastic, aluminum, or metal - without causing any harm.
However, what really sold me on this product was its promise of not containing any solid or fibrous materials. These substances can clog up your vehicle's system over time, making it inefficient. But with BlueDevil, I can rest assured knowing that my engine will continue running smoothly.
On the flip side, some users have reported mixed results with the product. While it worked well for some, others found it less effective on their specific type of leak. As such, it's crucial to ensure that your car's problem aligns with the product's capabilities before making a purchase.
In conclusion, if you're in need of a radiator or engine block leak repair solution that combines effectiveness, versatility, and safety, the BlueDevil Block Sealer is definitely worth considering. Just make sure to do your research and understand its limitations before diving in.

I recently had the chance to use the Permatex Blue RTV Silicone Gasket Maker, and let me tell you, it's become my go-to for sealing up those critical joints on my motorcycle and ATV. This stuff is sensor-safe, meaning I don't have to worry about it causing damage to any of my engine's electronic components or oxygen sensors. Plus, it's got some incredible adhesion – even to oily surfaces – ensuring long-term reliability and durability.
One of the best features of this product is how versatile it is. I can use it to make a "formed-in-place" gasket, or apply it over a pre-cut gasket for added protection. And with a temperature range of -65°F to 500°F, I know that it's going to perform no matter the conditions.

Its resistance to oil is phenomenal, keeping it from breaking down in my lubricated machinery. The low odor and sensor-safe nature of this gasket maker made me feel much more comfortable working with it, and I didn't have to worry about any corrosion issues. The 3-ounce tube provides enough sealant for several projects, so I'm happy with my purchase.
Although it's super flexible, I noticed that it can be a little difficult to apply evenly, but after some practice, I got the hang of it. The product is a little more expensive than other gasket makers, but based on its performance and versatility, it's worth the extra cost.

I recently got my hands on the Singing Machine Move microphone with Lighting Effects and Bluetooth, and let me tell you, it's been an absolute blast! This portable little device has made every party a more lively and engaging experience. The built-in Bluetooth speaker pairs seamlessly with my phone, so I can start singing my favorite tunes right away.
The voice-synching lighting effects are truly dazzling. It's like having an instant disco party in your hands! And the crisp, clear speaker ensures that everyone in the room can hear my voice as I belt out those tunes. Plus, with the rechargeable battery, the party can go on for hours, and hours, and hours!
However, there have been a few minor drawbacks. The microphone volume control could be more responsive, as it can be a bit tricky to adjust the volume while you're singing. Additionally, some users have reported that they received a used product, which is disappointing, especially given the full price they paid.
Overall, the Singing Machine Move microphone with Lighting Effects and Bluetooth is a fantastic device, perfect for parties, gatherings, and family sing-alongs. Just make sure to be mindful of the few minor issues mentioned, and you're sure to have a great time!

I have to say, I've been having a blast using the Vivitar Bluetooth Karaoke Microphone, especially in its vibrant pink shade! This little device has brought a whole new level of fun to family gatherings and karaoke nights. Not to mention how easy it is to connect via Bluetooth, making the setup a breeze.
One of the standout features for me is how versatile the microphone is. I've used it as a wireless speaker, voice recorder and even as an amplified loudspeaker while playing my favorite tunes. Another highlight worth mentioning is the adjustment buttons that allow me to fine-tune the sound to my preference.
But like any product, there are some downsides. In my experience, the battery life isn't as long as I'd like it to be. While it serves its purpose for short sessions, trying to go for an entire evening with continuous usage might not be feasible without needing a recharge.
Additionally, though the overall build quality feels solid, I do wish it had some kind of protective casing or cover to prevent scratches or damages during transportation. Still, considering the price point, these cons are relatively minor compared to the amount of enjoyment it provides.
Overall, if you're looking for a fun accessory to liven up any event or just something to make music more interactive, the Vivitar Bluetooth Karaoke Microphone is definitely worth considering.

I recently started doing some video content, and I was getting overwhelmed by my smartphone's built-in microphone. After some research, I came across the Hollyland Lark C1 DUO Wireless Microphone System. This little system has made capturing quality audio for my videos super easy and hassle-free.
I love how quickly I can set up the clip-on transmitters. They come with built-in omnidirectional microphones, making it quick and efficient to record two on-camera personalities at the same time. The one-click noise cancellation feature has been a game-changer for me. It does an excellent job of filtering out unwanted background noise, resulting in much clearer voice recordings.
The dual-channel receiver is a fantastic feature too. It can plug directly into the Lightning port on my iPhone or iPad, allowing me to record high-quality audio wirelessly from up to 656 feet away. Plus, the LarkSound app enables me to adjust the volume and toggle noise cancellation right from my device, making it incredibly convenient to use.

Moreover, the 2000 mAh battery capacity provides up to 5 hours of non-stop singing, offering me the freedom to take my karaoke parties to new heights without worrying about running out of power.
However, there are a few cons that I feel could be improved upon. While the microphone functions well in most settings, I've noticed that in noisier environments, the audio output tends to get drowned out, making it difficult for listeners to fully enjoy the performance. Additionally, the absence of an app specifically designed for this microphone can sometimes result in compatibility issues with certain devices, leading to a somewhat frustrating experience.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the Tzumi Pop Solo Bluetooth Karaoke Microphone has emerged as a must-have for karaoke fans looking to take their passion to the next level. Its ease of use, innovative features, and unbeatable portability make it a perfect choice for impromptu karaoke parties, memorable family gatherings, and countless other social occasions.

The Tzumi Pop Solo Wireless Bluetooth Karaoke Microphone has been a constant presence in my karaoke sessions. I remember one particular birthday party, where this microphone turned all of us into stars for a night. The setup was a breeze, and soon I was belting out my favorite tunes with my friends. The onboard controls made it incredibly easy to switch between tracks and adjust the volume.
One of the features that impressed me the most was its build quality. The shimmery alloy shell not only looks great but also feels sturdy and durable in hand. Another aspect that I absolutely loved was its battery life. I have sung countless songs with it, and it has never disappointed me in terms of power.
However, not everything about the Pop Solo has been smooth sailing. I did encounter a couple of issues with the sound quality. At times, the volume tends to be on par with my speaking voice, which can be a bit underwhelming during energetic performances. Additionally, there have been instances where the microphone produces an echo effect, which, while funny, can be a tad distracting.
In summary, while the Tzumi Pop Solo Karaoke Microphone is a delightful addition to any karaoke enthusiast's collection, it does have some minor drawbacks that could use improvement. Nevertheless, its ease of use, attractive design, and long-lasting battery make it a solid choice for anyone looking to bring their A-game to their next karaoke event.

I recently had the chance to install the Dorman 819-840 Flexible Stainless Steel Braided Fuel Line in my extended cab GMC Sierra pickup. With its upgraded materials and high-strength, corrosion-resistant braided stainless steel, it made a noticeable difference from the original hard fuel lines.
The PTFE tubing in the hoses added flexibility, making it easier to route under my vehicle. Plus, the new brackets and factory connectors ensured a quick and hassle-free installation.
Being engineered and assembled in the United States and backed by decades of aftermarket experience, Dorman is a brand I trust for quality parts. The only downside was that I had to input my make, model, and trim level before making the purchase to ensure a perfect fit, but it made the process smoother in the end.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the performance and durability of the Dorman 819-840 Flexible Stainless Steel Braided Fuel Line, and it's a great addition to my pickup.

It's made with high-quality lightweight aluminum and comes with inner hoses constructed of CPE synthetic material, offering superior resistance to heat, corrosion, and abrasion.
The fuel line boasts a working temperature of -40 F to +350 F and a working pressure of 500 PSI, making it a reliable choice under various conditions. Its inner diameter is 0.34" / 8.64mm and outer diameter is 0.55" / 13.97 mm, providing the necessary size for optimal performance. Overall, it's a well-built fuel line that offers flexibility, durability, and a sleek appearance for any vehicle or application.

🔗IAG Performance Braided Fuel Line Kit for IAG Fuel Rails

https://preview.redd.it/wvjcx53ewluc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5290955a0f055b2ad6fb38edb6429367b5cb79f8
When I got my hands on the IAG Performance Fuel Line kit, I was excited to try it out with my IAG Top Feed Fuel Rails. The kit was easy to use and install, with clear instructions included. The larger diameter of the braided lines made a noticeable difference in fuel flow, which I could feel during my test drives.

Overall, it was a great experience working with this product, and I'm glad I made the investment for better fuel flow and improved performance.

🔗Stainless Steel Braided Fuel Line Kit for High-Performance Applications

https://preview.redd.it/eared8w5wluc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a189bd0f9b27ae9b4668a6f661aa9467e7a2daa
In the realm of fuel system upgrades, the VEVOR 6AN Fuel Line Kit is a reliable and efficient solution. It's all about convenience and dependability, featuring 10 meters of stainless steel braided hose and 20 aluminum hose end fittings that ensure a secure fit and withstand the pressures of up to 1000 PSI.
The hoses themselves are sleek and durable, making them a great addition to a fuel system that's up for some wear and tear. The aluminum fittings, a nice contrast to the brawny black hoses, add a touch of sophistication and give your engine the high-performance look it deserves.
But it's not all smooth sailing. There have been some concerns with leaks, indicating that even the mightiest of fuel lines can't withstand every situation. So, while this kit is a commendable upgrade, there's always room for improvement. As for assembly, it's relatively seamless, at least according to most reviews.
Overall, the VEVOR 6AN Fuel Line Kit is a worthwhile investment for those looking to optimize their fuel system's performance. However, it's crucial to remember that no product is invincible and some mishaps may still occur.

I've been using these Black Fuel Hose Oil Fuel Gas Line AN6-AN8-AN10 Nylon Braided for quite some time now, and I have to say, they're quite the game-changer. The 90-degree angles are perfect for my setup, and the 4-feet pre-assembly means less hassle for me. The braided fuel hoses have a special hand feel, and they're made of premium synthetic material and stainless steel wires, ensuring durability.
However, there's room for improvement. The assembly process could be a bit more intuitive, and it would be nice if the product came with more specific instructions. Despite that, I'm happy with my choice, and these fuel lines have been a reliable part of my daily life. If you're looking for an easy-to-install, durable fuel line option, these are definitely worth considering.

🔗High-Performance Braided Fuel Line Kit for GM Trucks (1999-2003)

And the precision of the pre-cut lengths meant I didn't have to worry about measuring or cutting individually. The OE mounting locations and included new clips and fasteners made everything simple and straightforward. The leaking fuel lines were a thing of the past, and my truck runs better than ever.
Highly recommend this kit! .

The kit is compatible with most automotive fuels, lubricants, and coolants, making it versatile for various high-temperature high-pressure applications.
The most notable aspect of this product is its durability. It can withstand working pressures up to 3000 psi and boast a bursting pressure of 10000 psi. This level of resilience is crucial, especially when dealing with fuel lines, where leaks or breakages can pose significant risks.
However, one minor issue I encountered was the installation process. The tubing seemed a bit tough to work with, and I found it challenging to plug in the adapter. To make things easier, I needed to heat the tubing slightly. I'm sure this is an issue that could be addressed with some minor adjustment in the design.
Overall, I'm quite impressed with this product, and I highly recommend it for anyone who needs a reliable and durable fuel line fitting kit. With proper installation, this GSTP 8AN hose can handle most automotive fuel applications with ease.

2024.04.13 15:55 itsjustnickf What tangible difference/effect does good glass have vs bad glass?

Just been curious, I‘m not deep into long range stuff much yet, I have an AR15 that I‘ve only taken out to about 300yd, and I‘ve got a Sig Buckmasters 3-9x40 LPVO which has served me pretty well, especially given I got it for $110. I definitely wouldn’t call it a bad optic at all, but having never used the expensive optics, I do wonder, aside from durability, what would something like a Leupold MK4 offer for the price tag? I‘m not going to say they’re overpriced because I‘ve never shot with one but I see optics of the like at the store for $2000+ and just go „damn“ wondering what they offer above a lot of these less expensive optics. Also, where does something like a Primary Arms FFP optic for $3-600 stack up? that was what I‘ve been considering for my next logical upgrade, as PA is here in Houston and I was able to handle and look through some of their optics and they seem very good for the money. Just some curiosities I‘ve had.

With monetary economics as well as
7.7 Trillion Dollars including the bond issuance US spend over 2 years, 6 +% growth, being modest and in a successful but possible out come 3 year program, as there will be huge improvements in skills and technologies year over year that will change models and economic costs.

Meet national standards 2. Upgrade and become national standards 3. Showcase an efficiency your state came up with or chose exceeding early specifications, that they successfully implemented

2 Trillion is also issued in government building, water energy power fuel systems and trans state and local planning, limited quanitity to Americans, and maintained in the community where the bond originated, with a state specific design.
That’s my derivation, but it stems from the traditional view of economics of scale, and fits the actions of the most successful builders in human history, imparting the expected and usually honored tradition of governments to build roads- the Romans.

2024.04.09 21:19 Ok_Body_2598 Plan to address Global heating at scale to the scope of the problem (Some of) for Individuals and US government

So far, and with the biology focus not yet fully written but with room to include, as an energy and carbon transformation device that is fully automatic without AI, but also not without own risks. Focus on these energy cycles of life as well as of humankind's support systems
That CO2 acts as insulation for the Earth was calculated by the 1850's, and the first "models" of temperature increase as a result of industrial CO2 pollution were published in 1896 by a Nobel prize winner whose work is Founding Father Esque, Svante Arrhenius:
On the Influence of Carbonic Acid in the Air upon the Temperature of the Ground (rsc.org)

I would like it very much to have some "cliffs notes" prepared, ore likely, retrieved, building that out as the first "model of global warming" a worthy exercise.

as was the work of Fourier in the 1720's in theorizing the role of green house gases, called that I think because you should be able to detect changes in energy in such places. Fourier's work is still used today, in all industries dependent upon chemicals, (the foundation and driver of economies and technologies) to determine with precision and accuracy the qualitative- what substance it is- and quantitative- how much of it there is. That guy, whose work is used in what you are reading this on or wearing, came up with calculations for the basis of global warming. Trillions of world GDP, you better know something to question that guy, and those who do, don't.

Top line - Global Climate plan

1. For individuals-

Your ultimate POWER, your freest one, or at least one you can make if you accept the mission that corporations and thus government and all we consider to be powerful fear is predictably your dollar(s). By mass action- organized controlled spend, in People spend the most on their living environments, rent or own, and by using
I offer a simple contract to guarantee the single greatest year in climate action, measurable in your lifestyle, investments of time and money with other people similarly motivated, organized into a corporation based on your cooperation. This forms a multi-billion dollar corporation if we hit the number of members, and neither Joe Biden nor Donald Trump would be able to stop slow the momentum,
  1. 15 minutes to 3 hours a week, and additional review, and discussion in our in person and online forums. Aid and abet productive conversations and mass synchronous discussion of similar topics, and developing an educated protocol, to be used in additional, optional time in our chosen forums. It would be to use “social media” or electronic forms as a supplement, like a briefing or homework aid in-person conversations and interactions
  2. Committing your living space to a greener standard, meant to be flexible enough to let people’s creativity shine, in their responsive design, R 20 envelope, sunlight for rooms, sound minimums and maximums, ;
If you rent,
You are promising to get to an apartment that meets most of these standards asap.
You are learning about how it works what to look for from us, and your research - even 10 phone calls to prospective landlords to tell them your interest in living in these standards and report back, will be a weapon of mighty power and influence, and aid to the cause.
tell your land lord you are going to be looking to go green with our standards, and ask politely if they will be looking to invest in next generation upgrades.
Your commitment to rent with some property to our standards is going to allow us to get new buildings built and other buildings retrofitted to those standards.
You join list of committed tenants, which financiers like- steady customer base
If you own,
You also understand your role as that rare breed but super important- early adopters- purchasing the new technologies, and even the showing it off- changes things. You know staying ahead is going to mean you pay more and upgrade more often because the later stuff will make the current stuff seem tame.. You’re getting a new community, for whom keeping up with the Joneses will take on new deimesnsons
You are looking for financing for some home upgrades in the next year, and advocating for C-PACE or R-PACE financing to develop a next generation, to make the financing easy- but the financing is the action. Sales, at scale will drive the market.

2. For the Government- Economic policy proposal

To resolve the still un resolved global threat, of overwhelming proof as well as a consensus of scientific bodies so high worldwide as to be 1. Manufactured 2. Too late- waiting for action until such consensus certainty of negative circumstances can be proof of poor security management. Government must be looking ahead of overheating and destabilizing world economic, food, financial, and physical security- increased risk of famine, wars for resources, scarcity of resources no living person has ever seen, collapse of governments, possibly billions of refugees, with a global sea level rise currently scheduled by 2100 to be above that of global human habitats currently housing more than a billion people, those housing units being completely uninhabitable 30 years before that. Likely though, greater than 40% we see most of that by 2050 on our current course
human that a global temperI refer to the responsibility already enshrined to the United States as a whole through the text of the Clean Air Act, right after the Economics which is I must admit the more exciting matter, and actually fits well with the Job of EPA administrator.

777 Plan

With monetary economics as well as
7.7 Trillion Dollars including the bond issuance US spend over 2 years, 6 +% growth, being modest and in a successful but possible out come 3 year program, as there will be huge improvements in skills and technologies year over year that will change models and economic costs.
Amounts to about ?50? Billion per “average” state, but allocated per capita as in the Constitution, to develop internally and as part of a greater project and competition between states, to a. train workers/research/statewide planning of infrastructure and b. throw them at big projects c. find unique technology applications and design specifications that 1. Meet national standards 2. Upgrade and become national standards 3. Showcase an efficiency your state came up with or chose exceeding early specifications, that they successfully implemented
7 trillion is meant to be financed through an application of C-PACE deals to residential homes, industry and commercial structures
5 trillion of which 2 Trillion to the Global South and United States recent entanglement countries to provide more or less the same goal 15-25% of buil
W
public private partnership to provide funds for the first two step Phase 1 of upgrading the entire built infrastructure of the United States of America (90 percent ball park) Housing Transportation government buildings energy supply and transmission systems, water, everything, where necessary.
2 Trillion is also issued in government building, water energy power fuel systems and trans state and local planning, limited quanitity to Americans, and maintained in the community where the bond originated, with a state specific design.
That’s my derivation, but it stems from the traditional view of economics of scale, and fits the actions of the most successful builders in human history, imparting the expected and usually honored tradition of governments to build roads- the Romans.

And the man himself- as well as his comparisons to the Venus atmosphere I didn’t know he was involved in.
